The REPORT Rumors about President Trump selecting Michigan's Mike Rogers for FBI director were officially squashed today. So who's still in the running? We'll discuss with State Senator John DeMoose from the Great Lakes State.
Bo Davidson
And author Josh Bernstein joins us to talk about how the United States can preserve its liberty.
Kaylyn Doerr
And the Biden administration loosens immigration restrictions with less than 60 days before they leave office, are they trying to sabotage Trump's deportation plans? We will discuss all of that and guys, so much more on this loaded Friday edition of Special report.
Emily Finn
Happy Friday, everyone. The countdown to the weekend has begun. Thank you so much for tuning in to SPECIAL report. I am Emily Finn alongside Bo Davidson and Kaylyn Doerr, live from our West Palm beach studio. We have a very exciting show for you today as President Trump continues to make his selections for his next administration.
Kaylyn Doerr
Yeah, that's right. After Matt Gaetz withdrew his nomination for attorney general yesterday, President Trump made an announcement last night picking former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi for the position instead.
Bo Davidson
And now all eyes are on who he's going to choose for FBI Director. And multiple names like Cash Patel have been floated for the position for the past few weeks. But a post from one of Trump's senior advisers on X gave some insight into where the president stands on his decision. We want to welcome in our first guest, Republican Michigan State Senator John DeMoose, to the show. Thank you so much for speaking with us, sir.
Senator John DeMoose
Hey, thanks for having me on. I enjoy being with you guys.
Emily Finn
Yeah. So, Senator, since you're from Michigan. I'm from Michigan as well. I wanted to start with this. There's been a lot of speculation about who Trump is going to pick as FBI director. And the rumors were flying that former congressman from the Great Lakes state, Mike Rogers, was in the running. But President Trump's senior adviser, Dan Scavino confirmed on X today that Trump never even gave Rogers a thought for the position, adding, it's not happening. So now that Rogers is officially out, who do you think would be a good option to run the FBI?
Senator John DeMoose
Well, you know what? You're asking me a possible question because I just learned, like everybody else today, that Mike Rogers isn't the guy. And I thought he was a total natural. Mike really worked for Trump on the. I know him pretty well. He worked really hard to deliver the state of Michigan for Donald Trump. And he's, he's got, he's a former FBI agent, former head of the House Intelligence Committee, and it would have been a great pick. So your guess is as good as mine. I mean, I think that's one of the things that, that scares us all about Trump. But it's also kind of one of the things we all enjoy about Trump is he never ceases to surprise. And so I think this is going to be a good one, just like any of the other ones.
Kaylyn Doerr
Well, Senator Mike Rogers, he very narrowly lost that hotly contested Senate race in Michigan against Congresswoman Alyssa Slotkin. He ended up losing by about less than half a percentage point. Michigan, especially Wayne county, was at the center of election fraud claims during the 2020 election. Do you think there could have been any cheating this time around? Any funny business? I mean, how confident do people on the ground feel about the Slotkin win here this November?
Senator John DeMoose
You know, I just think it's not necessarily helpful every election to sit and wonder whether this was a stolen election and we had it. It's something I'm kind of passionate about because we had this after 2016, and Democrats love to forget about this, that for four solid years, that Trump election was considered illegitimate by a big part of America, they talked about Russian collusion and all these things, and no, he just won 2020. I know there are some instances which are questionable here, but I've never felt it was particularly helpful to us regaining the White House to dwell on that over and over again. I much prefer to look at what have we done wrong and what can we do better next time? And frankly, we didn't do that in 2020 and lost big time in our state. We reelected our governor, we lost the state Senate, we lost the state House for the first time in generations. And I think we learned our lesson this time and just focused on winning this time. So there could have been some instances, but I actually don't think that's what what did it. I mean, I think Trump more than Mike Rogers was able to reach out to non traditional Republican voters in the cities and in different places, especially sort of disenfranchised young men in a way that perhaps Mike didn't do. And I have nothing but respect for Mike Rogers. But his campaign never had the sort of energy and enthusiasm that a campaign like Donald Trump's did. So I'd attribute it more to that than any potential fraud.
Bo Davidson
I think you're absolutely right, Senator. It just didn't trickle down to the down ballot race. In this case, two different men, two different candidates. Well, being in a swing state, Michigan was a big win for President Elect Trump. He took the victory By More than 49% of Michigan voters support. So since you just touched on this a little bit, what message from the Trump campaign do you think ultimately sway the election in his favor? Is it what you touched on about reaching out to non traditional demographics, do you think?
Senator John DeMoose
I think it's a number of things. Certainly that's a big part of it. It's something I've been hoping for for years and years and years. As Republicans, there's no reason why minority voters should just automatically knee jerk to fault to supporting Democrat candidates all the time. There's nothing about conservative thought that isn't open to everybody. But I also think that in 2020 you had a lot of people who just plain didn't like President Trump because they didn't like the way he talked and he'd fly off the handle and he had some bad debates and those type of things. And so they went for Joe Biden. I think four years later people realized, oh wait, a person's ability to lead and their ideas actually do matter. So whether they like him or not, they realized they were a lot better off with President Trump. And he has a Lot better ideas for going forward than what Kamala Harris, certainly what Biden had and what Kamala Harris was offering. So I think people just got excited saying, well, all right, I've now learned to overlook the fact that he annoys me every now and then, and I'm going to support a guy who I know can lead this country.
Emily Finn
Yeah, very well said. I mean, there were a lot of promises on the campaign trail, and now that he's won, we'll see if those promises will be kept over the next four years. So when Trump won in 2016, he chose former chair of the Michigan Republican Party, Betsy DeVos, to serve as education secretary. And while DeVos made it clear that she wanted to serve in that position again, Trump decided he would go with former WWE CEO Linda McMahon instead. So why do you think Trump chose to go in a different direction this time around?
Senator John DeMoose
Well, it's hard to say for sure when I didn't know anything about Linda McMahon. When I saw that, I thought, what in the world? Because I only knew of her from World Wrestling Federation. But actually, she has a lot of experience in this, was on the State Board of Education in Connecticut several times, ran for Senate. So she's very qualified. Part of me wonders, though, I mean, let's not forget, I mean, Trump does hold grudges. And just speaking totally honestly, towards the end of the Trump presidency, Betsy DeVos was fairly outspoken against some of the things that Trump was doing and, in fact, resigned. And I just wonder if he was not able to put that aside. But I do think selecting Linda McMahon is really. He's clearly trying to shake things up and trying to send a signal to Washington that business as usual is done. I'm not going with your traditional next in line people anymore. It's why he's selecting Elon Musk, which has everybody excited. It's why he chose Gates, which I had to scratch my head. It was basically thumbing its nose at the system, which is, in fact, what I like about Trump. And I think this is another example of just that.
Kaylyn Doerr
Yeah, no, Linda McMahon, very, very qualified. Many people, they fixate on the WWE thing, but remember, she was the SBA administrator for almost the entirety of the previous administration. So we're very excited for that one, for sure.
Senator John DeMoose
And part of it is right now on Netflix, one of the big specials is on Vince McMahon. And so that was instantly what jumped in my mind. It said, what is he doing? Because Trump would do something like that. But in fact, she is very qualified. I think she'll do a great Job?
Kaylyn Doerr
Yeah. No kid. Well, Senator, I want to ask you about this real quick. Last week you released a press release detailing why you oppose new anti charter school legislation in Michigan. Explain to us how big of an impact this could have on the education system there in your state.
Senator John DeMoose
Well, I'll tell you what, Charter schools are the one bright spot in Michigan's education system. Right now we're ranked 43rd in the nation for our kids abilities to read. We're ranked 37th overall for education. The only thing we're in the top 10 for is the performance of our charter schools. And you look at it so bad in the state of Michigan that 1999, the state took over all of the Detroit public schools. And it's taken 25 years to rebuild that education system. And in that time, more than 50% of the students in the city of Detroit attend charter schools. And these are public schools. They're public charter schools. And every one of the top performing schools in Detroit is a charter school. I was just shocked though by the way the committee ran the other day. I never thought I'd hear anything like it in the United States of America or in the state of Michigan, especially in the Capitol building where it was really all out assault on for profit corporations. Because a number of these charter schools, they don't have to do this, but they find it to be beneficial to them. They subcontract out the, the running and operation of these schools to a for profit company. And they were going through what? At one point the chair was screaming, why can't they go with nonprofit corporations? Why does it have to be about the profit motive? And I actually spoke up and said, wait a second, this is, things are done in the United States of America. I mean you look at our own home, homegrown Ford Motor Company. This wasn't dreamt up in some ivory tower. This was a for profit corporation with a for profit motivation. And the way they achieved that profit was by developing an excellent product that people wanted and that delivered on their expectations when they purchased that product. That's how they got their profit. And so this has been a good for us in our society. I can't imagine why education would be anything other than.
Bo Davidson
Senator. We're also following this story that unfolded today. Trump has selected Pam Bondi to replace Matt gaetz's nomination for U.S. attorney general after Gaetz withdrew yesterday. Do you think that Pam Bondi is up to the challenge? I followed her career in Florida. She seems like a pretty, pretty tough lady. So what do you think?
Senator John DeMoose
Yeah, everything I'M hearing about her from discussions I've had and just from reading about her. I think she's a no brainer for this job. I think she'll be strong. I mean, Matt Gaetz, I was frankly surprised that he picked literally the most controversial in Washington. I don't know why he did that, but I think this is a much better pick. I think she'll have no problem getting confirmed.
Emily Finn
Yeah, certainly. Well, Senator John Demose, we truly appreciate you coming on the show and sharing some of your insight today. I think it's fair to say that the next four years are going to be very exciting under President Trump.
Senator John DeMoose
They sure are. I get, I didn't realize what a weight felt like. It was lifted off my shoulders until I saw that President elect Donald Trump and we've been all living under this thing for four years. It's just was a great, great win.
Emily Finn
Absolutely, sir. I certainly, I haven't stopped smiling since November 5th. Well, thanks again for being on the show. Coming up, we'll talk all the latest headlines to keep you up to date. You don't want to miss it. We'll be right back.

All right, guys, thank you for sticking with us here at SPECIAL report. Happy Friday to you all. I wanted to do something a little bit different with today's V block here, the segment so what we're going to do is we're going to bop around some of the newsiest headlines on the Internet today. We're going to chat about them for a few seconds. We're going to impart some wisdom. It's going to be wildly entertaining. It's going to be wildly educational. And we're gonna go ahead and we're gonna start off with this clip of Matt Gaetz today. Actually on our network here, right here, we're always breaking the news on Real America's Voice. He said today on Charlie Kirk's show that he won't be returning to Congress. I want you to take a look.
Senator John DeMoose
In the Florida House of Representatives.
Biotech Dental Advertiser
And so it seems like a pretty poetic time to allow that great new.
Senator John DeMoose
Blood to come in to allow my.
Biotech Dental Advertiser
District to have high quality representation.
Senator John DeMoose
And don't worry, I'm not going anywhere. I'm not taking off for like, you know, a tropical excursion for the rest of my life. I am here to help save this country. And one thing, you know, the great patriots at turning point know we need people at every level.
Kaylyn Doerr
No tropical excursions, no vacations, no days off. Emily, what do you think about his decision here? Did he make the right move stepping down as the AG candidate yesterday? What are your thoughts?
Emily Finn
Yeah, I mean, it certainly was a distraction, Caitlin. I mean, this is going to be or if he would have continued on, it would have been the big talk in D.C. i mean, it would have been fun fights in the Senate trying to get him confirmed. And he definitely didn't want to be a distraction when President Trump just wants to hit the ground running and get things done on day one. So it'll be interesting to see what Gates decides to do next. I know his wife Ginger has been posting saying the end of an era, but we'll see what of a, what he has up his sleeve when it comes to his political career moving forward.
Bo Davidson
And yeah, Emily, I just think he was a liability. I was really surprised by this pick. You know, John Solomon intimated the other day when he was on the show. But this report that came out, I mean, I know the DOJ didn't pursue it, but if half of these allegations are true, it's horrific. And so for those people standing by him, I just have to ask, you know, are you considering what was in this report? Are we going to see it? It might be leaked, it might not be. But I think it would have been a tremendous distraction to this administration. And, you know, maybe he'll stay in Florida, get involved in Florida politics down the road, maybe for the governorship, I guess, you know, Senator, we'll see. But I think this really was the right move and I was just really surprised by the pick and I think that Pam Bondi was probably a better choice to begin with. What do you think, Kaylan?
Kaylyn Doerr
Yeah, no, I mean, I like Bondi. I like Gates. I think ultimately, you know, it's not about the personalities involved. It's about the agenda that's set from the top by President Trump. Right. And he's going to come through here and clean house. He's going to make things uncomfortable for a lot of the deep state actors and, you know, politically minded DOJ officials who've gone after him for, I don't know, better part of a decade now. He's going to make their lives miserable and uncomfortable in all the best ways and clean up and actually go out there and hopefully serve the American people appropriately. I think we all can agree no one in D.C. currently is doing that. There's no leadership. And I don't think the personalities involved really matter nearly as much as the agenda that is being set, for sure.
Emily Finn
That's an interesting point, Kaylin. I mean, right or wrong, I think the one thing we know for sure is that the American people have the attention span of a goldfish. So they are going to forget about this. And I think Matt Gaetz will certainly be back in some capacity in politics. Now I want to switch gears here and get your guys take on this headline. DHS Secretary Mayorkas and FBI Director Christopher Wray both skipped an annual hearing on threats to the United States and got wrecked by Dems like Michigan's Gary Peters. Bo, what the heck are they thinking here?
Bo Davidson
Oh, they're not thinking. I don't think they ever do. You know, Mayorkas, every time I saw him do testimony on Capitol Hill, it just made me sick, to be honest with you. He can't answer questions. He is woefully inept, woefully unadept at his position. He should have been impeached. He should have never been in this position to begin with. I think he is probably one of the greatest DHS failures of our time, which is why it's so important to get a guy like Tom Holman and other people involved to get the border. Right. As far as Chris Wray goes, he was a Trump pick. So I'm a little concerned about him. I've not been impressed by him. And that's why it's so important, Kaylan, I think to get this FBI director right in this next administration.
Kaylyn Doerr
Well, Bo, I'M going to disagree with you here on something. I know we don't do that very often, but I think they do know what they're doing. I think they are capable of answering questions and that they have made a judgment call on the American people here. They've decided unilaterally that we don't deserve to know about the oncoming threats facing our country, no matter what they might be. And I think this just speaks to the tone again, coming from the top of the this administration that's on its way out the door. You know, they. Their entire agenda is based on gaslighting the American people. Their entire agenda is, you know, making judgment calls on what you can or cannot know, controlling freedom of speech, controlling the flow of information. And I think this just speaks to that. They're going out the same way they came in by, you know, censoring and keeping the American people in the dark on something that is very important. And one has to wonder, right, what these threats may or may not be, you know, if any of them have anything to do with outgoing President Joe Biden, who is, as we all know, a cadaver in chief. I mean, Emily, do you have any thoughts on this one before we move on?
Emily Finn
I just think that, you know, specifically Mayorkas, he was just an absolute disaster. You can't gaslight the invasion at our southern border. We're seeing it every day. I'm thinking of Lake and Riley right now and the Jose Ibarra, the illegal immigrant that murdered her. I mean, we're seeing things like this pop up all across the country. And so these threats are very real and they're happening in real time in our country.
Bo Davidson
Well, it could be incompetence or it could be just, you know, willful, like you said, Kaylan, willful misintention to delude the American people and maybe and distract the American people, which you may be right about. Well, this clip is a little longer, but the folks over at msnbc, AKA bsnbc, are having totally normal reactions to Trump naming Pam Bonney the next ag. Take note of what they criticize her for, and try not to let your head explode.
Senator John DeMoose
Pam Bondi is exactly what I was saying in the last segment, that we should all fear because she's competent. We may not agree with her ideologically.
John Solomon
But she actually knows how to do this job.
Senator John DeMoose
So if anyone on the Democratic side or anyone who cared about liberty or justice was thinking, well, maybe Matt Gates will screw this up and that'll give us some time, no, Pam Bondi knows what she's doing. She knows what she's doing about immigration. Remember, Florida is one of those states that's been very aggressive about migrants and deportation and moving people to different states and everything else like that. Florida has enacted all sorts of rules and laws to, to curtail students and what they can do on campuses and, and finding legal justifications for manipulating education money.
John Solomon
She is a dangerous and effective pick.
Senator John DeMoose
And that's frankly worse than what we would have got with Matt Gaetz, even with the deplorable moral background that he has.
Bo Davidson
Yeah.
Senator John DeMoose
And I want to discuss that with a little more depth with both of you, including her record on civil rights, LGBTQ rights and other issues that are front and center at the DOJ and which we know were also big campaign issues this cycle.
Bo Davidson
Quick thoughts, Emily, on that.
Emily Finn
Yeah, it certainly looks like they are scared of Pam Bondi. I mean, saying that she is competent. I think they know that she's going to be going after all of the right people that she needs to be going after.
Bo Davidson
BO that's absolutely right. Well, coming up, all the latest with just the news, no noise Editor in Chief John Solomon, who I just mentioned earlier in this segment. You won't want to miss it. So stay tuned right here on REAL america's Voice. We'll be back with SPECIAL REPORT in just a few.

Welcome back to Special reports. Continuing our discussion of the latest news story, we turn to JustTheNews.com Editor in Chief John Solomon. John, thank you so much for being on the show.
John Solomon
Great to be with you. It was a ton of fun being with you guys down in Florida this week. What a great time.
Emily Finn
Yeah, we're missing you in studio today.
John Solomon
Johnson.
Kaylyn Doerr
He's looking kind of tan today, John.
John Solomon
Me too.
Kaylyn Doerr
Did you hit the beach while you were here?
John Solomon
It's an amazing thing what lights can do for you, isn't it?
Emily Finn
Well, we love to see it. We love to see it. So we have one story that has been a little concerning is whether Covid vaccines that have been given are pure meaning. They shouldn't have any content contaminants in them. Can you tell us a little bit more about that?
John Solomon
Well, listen, this is a question that Senator Ron Johnson, lots of other people have had and of course the data has often been denied to us. I think there's a 76 year waiting period for some of the data and at least two years for one that I've sued for. I've been told I have to wait two years for it. There are concerns that the way these vaccines enter your body, that there may be some impurities or things related to the COVID virus that stay in your body and can create long term concerns, things like heart events two and three years even after you get the vaccine or you get the disease. Covid. So there was official who was part of the team, part of the team that made this vaccine in record time. Remember it was a warp speed, they called it. One of the officials on that team now saying there is scientific concerns that they share, that there may be some impurities that get injected into the body as part of the vaccine and they stick around, they linger and they could be responsible for some of these odd changes in public health that we've seen since the COVID pandemic hit us. So something to keep an eye on. The biggest problem is our whole public health system relies on transparency and we have so little transparency when it comes to the vaccine or quite frankly, the origins of COVID 19.
Kaylyn Doerr
Yeah, no, I think we talk a lot about, you know, vaccines. We're having a baby here in a few weeks and we've been doing a lot of digging. Congrats on our own. No thanks, John, but you'd be, you know, it's terrifying how much of it is actually necessary versus how much of it is basically prepping parents, right, to be more receptive and accepting of just vaccinating Anything that moves. I mean, ultimately, I want to move on to another story, John, but ultimately, are we going to see justice for any of the wrongdoing we've seen over the last eight years on this?
John Solomon
Well, there's a general immunity for everyone that's involved. So in order for that to create accountability, you're going to have to have Congress take an act to remove that immunity. To do that, you first have to show that there has been malicious or bad acts. And I think that that's where Ron Johnson becomes so important. Next year, he's going to start an investigation. He was on the show last night. He said, listen, we're going to dig into everything about the COVID vaccine. We will get the truth that we were denied. Once we have those facts, then you start to think about what's the public health solution to these things? Accountability for those things, maybe indemnification. I asked the President, President Elect Trump a couple weeks ago in my interview, are you open to the idea of a vaccine compensation fund? And he said, yes, I am for COVID 19. So something we'll look at. And so there are many solutions that can come, but you can't craft the solutions until you know the extent of the problem. And I think the ability to choke that the four years of the Biden administration goes away come January 20th.
Kaylyn Doerr
Yeah. And I was talking to some Trump world sources about going back and doing something for the members of the military that were actually pushed out. So it'll be interesting to see how that all shakes out. Another headline everyone's talking about is obviously the judge, Juan Merchant is now allowing Trump to seek dismissal of the hush money case in which Trump was convicted of 34 counts of falsifying business records. John, you're the expert. Drop some wisdom on us. What can you tell us?
John Solomon
It's a big moment because it means that the president's arguments can get into the court system whether Judge Merchant agrees or not. With him, it starts the clock ticking towards an appeal. And at some point, most lawyers that I've talked to believe that when he gets to the United States Supreme Court, that appeal will likely overturn any conviction. If it's still standing at that point, it'll be very interesting to see. But the judge not allowing this to happen until this moment has kept the appeals process from going and quite frankly, delaying the ability of President Trump to get a form of justice that he thinks he'll win in the federal court system or the Supreme Court system. There's two issues, right? The first is the immunity issue. Is he even allowed to be charged for it? The second is the way these charges were strung together, creating felonies out of misdemeanors and slapping the statute of limitations clock. Both of those issues, I think are going to cause some heartburn when it gets up to to the nine justices here in Washington.
Bo Davidson
John, let's go back to the topic. When you were on our show just a couple days ago here with us, we talked about Matt Gaetz and you were intimating that this report was very salacious. Now I believe in innocent until proven guilty, but he resigned so that that report would not come out. But obviously being a nominee, political nominee, they were debating about whether this report would have to be released for the senators. Well, now that's no more because he has stepped back from his nomination as attorney general. Is he just trying to bury this thing so it doesn't get out, even though it could potentially be leaked? I mean, he's still denying, denying, denying, but there's some really rough stuff in there from what I think you've said. So what are we to make of this in terms of Matt Gaetz? Is he just trying to bury this so that he has some sort of political future down the road?
John Solomon
So I think now his ability to bury thing is gone. Right. The decision is going to rest solely with the House Ethics Committee and that decision will come to the the forefront on December 5th. I think the problem over the last two weeks is that there isn't a final draft, a votable draft of this report for the committee to consider and they didn't want to release a draft. A lot of the people in the legacy media tried to suggest that they were burying this report. They're not bearing this report. They're trying to get it to final stage so they can vote on the final stage report. That will likely happen on December 5th. And when that happens, I think given the history of the Ethics Committee, there will be bipartisan support to release it and that will allow Matt Gaetz to address the allegations head on. There'll be no innuendo now or anonymous leaks. He'll have the conclusions of the committee and his ability to respond to it. And the American people will make a judgment about whether he was a good nominee, whether he was a good congressman, whether he got a raw deal. We won't know until all the facts are. I did see some summary information from this report and there are some very troubling aspects. Some of those things have since leaked out in the New York Times and other things, but there are some real Questions about drug use, about the age of these people, were women paid for sex, all those things. They're out there now. Let's give him the chance to see all of it. Let the American people see all of it and make a more informed judgment. I think that comes on December 5th.
Kaylyn Doerr
Okay?
Emily Finn
Yeah, absolutely. Now, to be a bit forward looking here, John, just a matter of hours after Gates withdrew from that nomination, Trump selected former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi as Attorney General of the United States. So do you think that she's up to the challenge?
John Solomon
She ran one of the largest Attorney General's offices in the country. Florida is the third largest prosecutorial office in the country. She did it with a lot of acclaim. Democrats and Republicans both like her. She's very competent. I watched her work on the impeachment trial against President Trump. She was one of the most effective lawyers behind the scenes in finding evidence that was exculpatory to the President. She knows how the system works. She's a good administrator. She's a clear communicator. Anyone who's ever seen her on tv, she's very easy to understand. And if you are going to change a battleship the size of the Justice Department, setting clear goals and being able to communicate them, communicate against the criticism is a real key attribute. She has that and leaves some bounds. I think Matt Gaetz would have done a fine job if he had gotten there. But I do think that Pam Bondi's experience running one of the largest prosecutors departments in the country, and there's a history, you know, there's a former Florida Attorney General who also was attorney, became a US Attorney General, and that was during the Clinton years. And so there's a history of this office producing U.S. attorney General. So it'll be interesting to see how the nomination process, I think she'll sail through pretty easily.
Bo Davidson
John, you also gave us a cliffhanger a couple days ago about some J6 information. I want to give you the opportunity to talk about that. Yeah, you did. And so you got to tell our audience what you found out.
Senator John DeMoose
Yeah.
John Solomon
This story broke in the last 24 hours. So Barry Loudermilk, chairman of the House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight, that's the committee that took over the January 6th investigation from Liz Cheney, Bennie Thompson, the Democrat Committee. He had a question when he started out two years ago, which is why was a lieutenant a ranked lieutenant, the person guarding the House chamber From the crowd that day, it seemed unusual that a lieutenant would be holding the gun that fired and killed Ashley Babin. So he began to Dig into it, and that lieutenant is right there. Michael Byrd, he's now a captain. He's been promoted since the shooting. What he learned in exploring that question was that Lt. Byrd, now Capt. Byrd, had a long history of internal affairs investigations against him involving very serious things involving firearms. Long before he shot Ashley Babbitt in 2004, he shot into a car that was stolen. He told police that it was coming on to him. He had to save his life. He fired into it as it was approaching him. The evidence showed the car had already passed him and he was shooting in the back of the car, which was concluded to be an inappropriate use of firearms. He was recommended for penalty, but that recommendation got overturned by an Appeals board. In 2015, he got into a confrontation with a fellow officer at a football game. He was found to have engaged in conduct on becoming an officer and given a penalty in 2019. Going back to guns, the man who used a gun to kill Ashley Babbitt, he left his service weapon in a bathroom at the US Capitol where it could have been accessible to a member of the public. He was suspended for 33 days. That man still is on the force on January 6, 2020. And the guy left guarding the house at that moment. I think that's what people are concerned about.
Emily Finn
My goodness, John, you are a wealth of knowledge on everything happening in America. Thank you so much for sharing your insight with us today. Now coming up, there's a whole lot more on SPECIAL report. Stay with.

For those of us holding our breath for the last several months, we can finally exhale. Work can finally be done on the major issues that this country is facing, one of the most significant being our national debt. Fact is, our nation is broke and that debt is a house of cards that can't quickly be dismantled. So the strategy remains the same. Diversify your savings. And that's why we buy gold from Birch Gold. So many things are out of our control, let's face it, out of our president's control. It's important to have a safe haven for your savings.
Emily Finn

Kaylyn Doerr
All right, I gotta jump on that. Well, I want to welcome everybody back to SPECIAL report, and we're going to talk about how we have a new administration that is going to be drastically different from the last. We can expect changes, some of which may be significant and save the country billions of dollars in the process.
Emily Finn
That's right, Kaitlyn. The bloated federal bureaucracy that has dogged Washington, D.C. for decades may undergo a huge phase and let's just say a thinning out, especially as businessman Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy evaluate waste, fraud and abuse in our agencies.
Bo Davidson
And joining us now is Josh Bernstein. He's author of the book Preserving Liberty to provide some insight into what we can expect come January. Josh, thank you so much for joining us on SPECIAL report.
Josh Bernstein
It's great to be on the program with you guys.
Kaylyn Doerr
Josh, lots of changes coming. We elected a change candidate and hopefully many of these changes are going to drain the swamp. Let's first talk about Linda McMahon and the Department of Education. Education has been lacking in our country in our scholastic competitiveness. Oh, my goodness. See, I've got to go back. My education was obviously horrible, Josh, but our competitiveness is waning. I mean, what can she do on day one to turn things around?
Josh Bernstein
Well, in reality, I was going to hope nothing. I was hoped that he was going to fill out his cabinet and then the media was going to ask him, so who are you going to put in for the Department of Education? And he could have said, well, actually, nobody. Well, what do you mean by that? Well, you see, what we're going to do is we're going to fire everybody in it and then we're going to padlock it and we're going to leave it vacant for the next four years. But apparently that's probably not going to happen. Wishful thinking, I guess. Look, I hope that she expands school choices. I hope that she expands charter schools, gets rid of a lot of these people like the Weingartners and things like that from the nea. I know that she can't do that, but that's gonna be her biggest, I would say, adversary in running this department. But we've got to trim down as we need to trim down our government in every capacity. And hopefully there will not be nearly as many people at the Department of Education. And quite frankly, I hope that she ends up firing the majority of the staff. I mean, let Doge get ahold of the Department of Education and let them go to work.
Bo Davidson
He could have nominated Clint Eastwood's empty chair, if you remember that from the 2012 Republican convention. I do, but Josh, let's talk about Trump's new Attorney general pick, Pam Bondi. She's capable, she's competent, she knows the law, she's tough on criminals. And actually, my favorite quality is going to really examine the fentanyl problem in this country. What say you?
Josh Bernstein
Well, look, I think Matt Gaetz would have been a terrific candidate to be put into that position. But here's the thing. You know, he can still have a role, possibly even at the Department of Justice. I mean, maybe he could become her chief of staff of policy and direct which prosecutions to go after. You don't need a Senate confirmation for that. That can be someone which she would just hire, you know, just on her own. He could also be appointed as, let's say, U.S. district Attorney for the State of Florida, in which he could go after, you know, the document case and Jack Smith and things like that. He wouldn't be able to go after New York and Georgia and elsewhere, but he would be able to have a role. So I think there's a lot of different things that he could do as far as her being his replacement. In some respects, it's just as good, if not better. This is somebody that has a ton of experience. She's a well known prosecutor, third largest state in the union, as far as the prosecution of people and things like that in her office. And more importantly, she was also, you know, advising lead counsel or close to lead counsel of the America First Institute, which is basically America first maga. So we're not taking a step down. You know, a lot of people are saying, oh, they're disappointed in this and that. I'm not. I'm actually excited because I think that she's going to be just as effective as Matt Gates would be.
Emily Finn
Yeah. Now, Josh, I do want to give you a chance to talk about your book. You've been talking about reining in spending. Funding an endless war in Ukraine is a great start. But what are some other areas that the US can save money and cut spending? Do you think that Doge will be successful at this?
Josh Bernstein
Well, yeah, I do. I think Doge is going to be successful in some aspects. And really, the only reason Doge can even exist is truly because of the Chevron doctrine, and the Chevron doctrine being repealed, because what that allowed is no more default to the government being right in ambiguous decisions. And so therefore, I think that it opens up that as well as the Raimondo decision. So I think that they can do a lot, but I think people have to also understand that they're basically gonna be doing recommendations. But here's the good news. The good news is, is that Marjorie Taylor Greene is now going to be in charge of a new subcommittee that will report for the Department of Elections and all that. What is it called? Doge. I'm forgetting what it was called.
Kaylyn Doerr
Department of Government Efficiency.
Emily Finn
There you go, Caitlin.
Josh Bernstein
Government Efficiency, yes. And so as the subcommittee chairwoman of that, she will then be able to kind of direct through Comer and others that this type of spending should be cut. And look, I think. What is it? 64% of the government is basically spending that is discretionary, and 26% or so is non discretionary, which means that it can be cut. So I think that that 2 trillion number is realistic. But again, you know, we just found out now that Mitch McConnell is now going to be in charge of the powerful Appropriations Committee in the Senate. That's not a good sign, because he will be able to, along with Susan Collins, another rino, be able to kind of, I guess, maybe possibly stop some of the legislative activity that the Trump administration wants to put forward. I hope that's not going to be the case. But let's face it, we had five rhinos that basically tanked Matt Gaetz's nomination for Attorney General. So, you know, Unfortunately, I've said this before on my show and I'll say it right now. It's not the Democrats that are going to be able to stop President Trump in this next term. It will be fighting against the Rhinos, sadly, and people within our own party and other Republicans. And that's why the grassroots has to be active. They've got to be reaching out.
Bo Davidson
You're so right. You're so right, Josh. Well, thank you so much. And we'll go read your book soon. Where can we find it? Amazon.
Josh Bernstein
Amazon. Yep, that's right. Preserving Liberty, Bold and brave Solutions to Save America.
Bo Davidson
Thank you, Josh.

Appreciate it.

Welcome back to SPECIAL REPORT. Are we in World War Three? Well, according to Ukraine's ex military commander, we are. The ex commander said, I absolutely believe that in 2024 we can believe that the third world war has begun. He supported that statement by speaking about the involvement of soldiers from North Korea, Iranian drones being used daily against Ukrainians and the use of Chinese weapons.
Kaylyn Doerr
Yeah, guys. This comes as the Biden administration announced that they are taking steps to cancel $4.7 billion with a B in loans to Ukraine that Ukraine was supposed to pay back. But Congressman Thomas Massie is not having it. He's introduced legislation to stop it. And for discussion, we're going to bring in our co host, our superstar, the host of threat assessment, Tara Dahl. Tara, welcome to the studio. We miss seeing you here on the Daily. I got to ask you, I got to ask you, is the Biden administration intentionally starting a third world war?
Emily Finn
Yeah.
Podcast Announcer
I mean, he couldn't do anything else to be able to cause escalation. But Russia is also escalating this as well. And what's happening is they're trying to take more territory before they know that when President Trump comes in, he's going to end the war. But just like you're seeing, they're giving out all of the money that they possibly can give before Biden ends his term. I mean, they just dished out another 200 million some dollars. They're trying to forgive the billions in loans that Ukraine is supposed to pay back. So they are just selling out America before he leaves office to give it to Ukraine.
Kaylyn Doerr
Sounds good.
Bo Davidson
The Biden administration, Tara, seems to be trying to create as much chaos and destruction before they leave in office, not only in Ukraine, but at the southern border. They are now loosening immigration policies by creating an app that will bypass in person ICE check ins in order to legalize illegal immigrants quicker. Tara, they're not stopping, are they?
Podcast Announcer
No. I mean, this is unbelievable. Here you have an impeached secretary, right? Mayorkas is impeached by Congress and yet he's still pushing through all of these illegal acts to bring in millions of illegals, more terrorists, more criminals. And now they're creating yet another app after they did the CBP1 app to bring in all of illegals into our airports. And now they're doing this other app. But this one is more dangerous, I think, because the other CBP1 app you're bringing in these illegals, which hopefully will be part of the mass deportation that President Trump is planning and will do under Tom Holman. He will do it and he'll do a really good job of it. But this app is actually bypassing the check ins for illegals to go through. ICE check ins, meaning they'll be legalized citizens. So will they be able to be deported once they become legal citizens? And that's the Democrats whole plan. We all know this. That's the Democrats plans. They want to bring in all the illegals to be able to get them to be American voters. That's what they've always had intentions on doing. And they're going to, they're going to cram them all in. Now we're seeing in the last 60 days, less than 60 days before he leaves office. But that's got to stop. That should be shut down, I think by Congress.
Emily Finn
Yeah, Tara, it definitely seems like there's some bigger stuff scheme here, a bigger plot at hand and there certainly is no accountability. As we discussed earlier, impeached Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas, I think I called him a disaster. And FBI Director Christopher Wray, they skipped out on the Homeland Security Committee hearing after insisting it take place in a classified setting instead of in the public. This did not sit well with Senator Josh Hawley who said they skipped out over avoiding criticism on the verdict in the Lake and Riley trial and said they should be issued subpoenas. Tara, why are they so afraid to address the public?
Podcast Announcer
Because they're the reason that they have had these criminals in. They allowed Lake and Riley's murderer into the country. They knew about his background and then they lied to the American public. So Majorcas and Christopher Wray should be held accountable for, I believe, the murder of Laken Riley and other innocent American girls. Other innocent Americans, the raping of children. They should be held accountable for this and they know that. And that's why they want to have this take place in a classified setting because they don't want the public to know and have them be called out, I believe on air in front of all the information that they knew about Lake and Riley's murder. And that's what Josh Hawley is calling for. And then he also called for Mayorkas to resign again even before or Christopher Wray to resign even before Trump takes office. So I don't know, Caitlin, do you think Gray will resign? Do you think Trump will fire Ray before he takes office?
Kaylyn Doerr
I think Ray should absolutely step down. As what I mentioned earlier is what are they hiding, all these people? They fear competency and transparency. And that really goes to show that they've been operating, they've been doing something right.
Podcast Announcer
Yeah.
Kaylyn Doerr
You don't get so scared at the thought of a Pam Bondi coming in. You don't get so scared that you break tradition in such a way that you don't do one of these hearings if you're not doing something that people shouldn't know about. I mean, it's just simple, you know, the COVID up is always worse than the crime. I'm hopeful that we see, you know, all these things get rectified. I want to go back to this app. I know we want to keep going, but I want to ask you a question. So functionally, they download the app before they get here and then they can just bypass ICE checkpoints. What does that mean? Does this mean, you know, to the person at home who maybe doesn't and follow this as closely or whatever. My grandma who might be watching. Right. Does this mean they're just walking into our country and they can do whatever they want? How does this functionally look from kind of a security perspective?
Podcast Announcer
Well, the CBP1 app is very different, it sounds like from this new app which they're trying to hide. So we don't really know all the information it sounds like on this new app. But the CBP1 app, they would apply when they're in Mexico or another country. Country. And then they would get a number to wait in line and then they would get the application to come into the country for their app. But they can fly into our airports while they wait. So once they get that permission to come in with the CBP1 app, they let in like how many thousand per month are allowed to be able to come in and then they get their appointment and then they get in the long line that's backlogged for years. Right. And then that's why now they have created the CBP or not the CBP1 app, but this new app, which then when they're in the country, so you get these illegal aliens that come in, they don't have to check in for ICE so that they can supersede that line and then you can get legalized. So that's what is. So, I mean, they're creating all of these apps and then the CBP1 app, too, is hacked by the cartels. So the cartels are getting funded off of America's app and process, and it's going to the cartels. So, I mean, it just goes to show the incompetence of this administration. I mean, it's completely out of the world. You can't even. It's beyond. That's why Mayorkas is impeached and he should be held accountable for all of this. I hope that the Trump administration holds him accountable for all of this.
Kaylyn Doerr
You know, and, you know, what's interesting to me is that, you know, the left, the way that they message this is that it's, you know, the poor and the homeless and the people who are truly, they truly need, you know, they're seeking asylum, they're on the run, they're struggling to get the through the border. They're coming here. They have no choice but to come here illegally. But they're walking around with phones, they've received instructions. It's not like, you know, they're just like meandering across the border and we're telling them to pound sand. They're literally willfully circumventing everything. But I want to go back a little bit. So some Democrats, they're still not getting the message, obviously, that the majority of Americans, they support mass deportations. Just like the mayor of Denver who actually said that he will use the Denver police to block federal immigration officials from doing their job.
Bo Davidson
And saying that. That's like the Tiananmen Square moment. I mean, Tara, I can't imagine the people of Denver would support this.
Podcast Announcer
This is this Denver mayor, what he said when you guys, when we put this into context, this is a mayor who cut the police budget by $8 million. He cut the fire department budget by $2 million. He got the sheriff's office. He cut the budget of public safety in Denver by millions of dollars. And now he's coming out and saying, you're going to have a whole line of police officers that are going to stop the federal government from coming in and deporting people like Trende or Magua, where they have had the Denver as their headquarters. Are you kidding me? The dangerous gang that is having and Denver as the headquarters and they're saying that the people of Denver are going to come there and stand on the line and say, you can't deport TDA and the gangs and the illegals that have come into our city and are raping, extorting, killing our citizens. Like, I don't know how this guy is still in office. I have no. I cannot comprehend how this guy is in office. And to think that he can possibly do that, and then threatening to start civil war over protecting illegal aliens.
Emily Finn
Yeah. And Tara, if you remember, I mean, they were trying to say, like, oh, it's really not that bad. It's just one apartment complex they took over. It shouldn't be any at all.
Podcast Announcer
Yeah.
Emily Finn
And it's not just the Democrats that are supporting illegal criminals. The mainstream media is as well. In an example of why MSNBC is losing daily viewership, try to wrap your minds around this headline that says, quote, lake and Riley's killer never stood a chance. This was disgusting. Tara. Are they literally showing sympathy for her killer? We only have about 30 seconds left here.
Podcast Announcer
Well, I'm looking at what's kind of going around here on Social about Elon Musk potentially buying msnbc. So I don't know about you, Kaylin, but do you think it's going to happen?
Kaylyn Doerr
You know they're going to. I mean, look, that's the same chain of events that took place when he, when he bought Twitter. So I think he ends up doing it. But what are your thoughts on that headline? I mean, it's disgusting.
Podcast Announcer
Well, I mean, that's the reason why Elon Musk should buy Twitter by msnbc. I mean, they've lost their minds. They're literally supporting a murderer over a young girl, beautiful girl that had her life taken away. I mean, I can't believe they even published that. Not only did they have to submit that, someone had to publish it.
Kaylyn Doerr
That's right. Someone had to fact check it.
Emily Finn
It went through a few eyeballs before it actually hit their website. Horrible. Horrible, Tara. Well, thank you so much for coming on the show today and sharing your insight with us, Tara. We always appreciate you.
