Hey, hello there. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. This is Chris New Year's Eve Eve. My name is Neil W. McCabe, and I'll be sitting in for Grant tonight. And I'm just thrilled to be with you. And I'm really thrilled to bring you the guests and the stories that you'll be talking about tomorrow when you're arguing with your relatives and your friends. As we all take a break during the holidays, our first guest is going to be Minnesota State Rep. Kristen Robbins, who is a candidate for governor of Minnesota. And I'm going to bring her on for a minute. But I first want to say that we're also going to be talking about the situation in Israel with Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to Mar A Lago, also with Ukraine. And we're also going to be talking about some of the other issues of the day, including the anniversary of J6, the pardons of J6, and of course, the anniversary of J6 itself. That's coming up. But first, let's bring on Minnesota State Representative Kristen Robbins. Kristen, thank you very much for being with us on REAL America's Voice. How are you?
Kristen Robbins
I'm great. Thanks for having me.
Neil W. McCabe
Oh, fantastic. Now, in 2024, your governor, Tim Walz, was running for vice president of the United States. And every so often you'd see a little blip in the news about maybe there's some fraud going on in Minnesota, maybe there's something going on. But obviously the mainstream media had no interest in covering it. But it's been an active issue in Minnesota. Can you just sort of talk about how this thing was sort of festering and then all of a sudden blew up? Go ahead, please.
Kristen Robbins
Yes. So we've been aware of a lot of fraud in Minnesota from an earlier child care scandal that then everyone said was fixed, Right. And then we had the Feeding Our Futures scandal, which during COVID they used child nutrition dollars to scam the state out of over $300 million. And a lot of that money went for overseas purchases of real estate, like an apartment building in Nairobi, a resort in Kenya, and our tax dollars were just absconded with. And so from the feeding our future indictments and from that series of court cases, we saw other vectors of fraud. So someone involved in feeding our Future also was involved in autism centers or sober homes or non emergency medical transportation or adult daycare. Now, I uncovered a vector of assisted living fraud. So we're seeing the same pattern over and over. And so it's the same business model of fraud that just keeps being perpetuated because the administration, Tim Walls, has turned blind eye to all this fraud despite credible whistleblower reports for years.
Neil W. McCabe
Yeah. And I'll tell you, I'm also consumed with guilt over this issue because of the role that I played in not doing anything about it. Because in 2020, I was the communications director for Project Veritas with James o', Keefe, and we did a massive investigation into ballot harvesting, illegal ballot harvesting in Ward 6 in Minneapolis and how the Somali community was sort of being used and manipulated basically by the same warlords and bandits that, that were running them in Somalia. They basically just. They went from being warlords to sort of precinct captains in Ward 6 in Minneapolis. And basically it was this Somali population was giving such, such electoral strength to the Democrats. And one of the guys at Project Veritas started. He started looking into some of the businesses and some of the welfare and some of the different things that were going on. And he actually, he spent like an hour drawing it all out for me on a whiteboard. And I just, I just couldn't grasp it and I just didn't. It just, it was there. He was trying to figure it out. He had nailed it. And so, you know, we had other things to go on. Obviously, the ballot harvesting was the story we were working on, so we figured we'd always get to it and we never got to it. And so can you sort of talk about, too, the effect of the Somali community and what that does for the Democratic Party? Because there are some of these precincts and districts where the democrats are getting 90% of the Somali vote. Go ahead.
Kristen Robbins
Yes. I mean, obviously it's a strong voting bloc for the Democrat Party. They've also been a strong donor community for the Democrats. And some of the people who are indicted in Feeding Our Future did give to Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan and Attorney General Keith Ellison, and they claim they've returned all of the contributions from people associated with Feeding Our Future. But nevertheless, that's been one of their go to political blocks. And I think what we have seen is that we're just at the tip of the iceberg. So we've identified all these different programs where the fraud is, but we're really just beginning the legal investigation. So I expect hundreds more indictments and charges to come forward in more court cases.
Neil W. McCabe
Yeah. We have a clip of Nick Shirley, who's the young journalist whose report has gone viral. Obviously, he was relying on investigative reporter, his colleague David. And obviously a lot of this stuff has been in the ether on the ground in Minnesota, but for many Americans who had no idea what was going on, it was Nick Shirley's report. So let's just play a clip of this now.
Don Brown
Are there local reporters like that in your area?
Neil W. McCabe
And why do you think they weren't doing the work that you did?
Dr. Kelly Victory
I don't know. I like, they're scared of being called nowadays because it's. Somalians are committing this fraud people are scared to be calling is Islamophobic, racist in. Which has nothing to do with what's going on, because fraud is fraud. It doesn't matter if it's a black person, white person, Asian person, Mexican. Fraud is fraud.
Neil W. McCabe
And, you know, it reminds me of a joke we used to tell when I was a college Republican at the University of Massachusetts. What do you call a Republican who's winning an argument? A racist, right or Nazi or fascist or, you know, whatever. Whatever seems to be. But I think that people also have to understand the cultural impact, not just the political and the economic impact of what the Somali community is, what it represents, because, you know, it's. Obviously, they're foreigners, but this isthis is a culture that has no nexus to the existing culture. In Minnesota, I deployed to Iraq with the 34th infantry, the Minnesota National Guard in 09 and 10. And, you know, I kept hearing them say this word ufta. You ever hear this word ufta, Chris?
Kristen Robbins
I say, I'm a Norwegian American.
Neil W. McCabe
So everybody's saying ufta. I assumed it was some Arabic word because I really didn't pay attention in Arabic class at all. Like, it just wasn't my bag, right? And I'm saying, wow, these guys, they're learning such. But actually, you know, there's Norwegians, there's Germans, there's Swedes, there's Finns, there's a. There's a whole. There's a whole, you know, sort of variety or palette of nationalities in Minnesota, but none of them have anything to do with the Somalis. And it was just sort of dropped into your state in the 90s. I have a clip here of a documentary from the United nations that sort of talks about that atmosphere in the 90s. I want to play that first, and then we can sort of talk about how the sort of the cultural. The cultural action that's going on the cultural friction that's created by the Somalis. Go ahead with that clip, please.
Kristen Robbins
In 1999, the United States designated this.
Public Investing Announcer
Group a persecuted class of people who deserve to be resettled in America.
Dr. Kelly Victory
During the next two years, as many.
Neil W. McCabe
As 12,000 Somali Bantu could be approved by US immigration officials for resettlement. You know, one of the greatest war movies ever made was Black Hawk Down. And so people know Black Hawk down, but I don't think they understand how that set in motion a chain of events that ended up with, you know, maybe 60,000, maybe 100,000 Somalis being brought to Minnesota. How has that changed the culture of Minnesota and created frictions that are unfortunate?
Kristen Robbins
You know, I think that Minnesota has a lot of different cultures here. As you listed, a lot of Scandinavian, German, also very large Latino population, a lot of people from India, and so a lot of people. We have a huge among population here. So I think in general, the cultures have blended well. But I do think here, particularly with the Somali community, that has been where we found the most fraud. And not being able to say that out loud because people were afraid of being called racist or Islamophobic is what allowed the fraud to perpetuate. So we have to call it out. We have to say most of the fraud is in the Somali community, but we also have to say other things that are true, and one of which is that some of my best whistleblowers come from the Somali community who want to clean it up some. So I think that it's really important that we call out fraud who's ever behind it. And as Nick Shirley was saying, illegal activity is illegal activity, no matter who's causing it. And we have to focus on rule of law and we have to focus on prosecuting criminals. If we stick to that, that is how we're gonna root out the fraud and hold everyone accountable, regardless of what background they're from.
Neil W. McCabe
Now you're running for governor, is Walz going to be on the ballot or is he termed out?
Kristen Robbins
He is on the ballot. We don't have a limit on governor terms here. So he will be running for his third term. And he has been completely derelict in his duties. So I don't think Minnesotans want to return him to the governor's office. They want a new leader who's going to have a no fraud, no excuses culture and clean this mess up.
Neil W. McCabe
I think that we've already seen some surge of activity and interest from the federal government. The FBI and the Justice Department are now being engaged. But on the State level, you have, as I see it, three ways of holding people accountable. One is obviously your race for governor where you would have a new administration for your state. But then also there's the legislation, the legislature rather, which could have oversight, which you, of course, have been very active in in the fraud committee. But what about the prosecutors? It's my impression that the prosecutors in Minnesota, the state prosecutors, have no interest in pursuing these at all.
Kristen Robbins
Yes, we haven't seen many state prosecutions out of the state Attorney general, Keith Ellison, but our federal partners at the DOJ through the Office of the U.S. attorney here, have been fantastic. And they're the ones who have brought all the charges and indictments and the prosecutions of the feeding our future cases. And now they've branched into autism centers and integrated community supports. And I know they have many others that they're working on to bring forward. So the prosecutors that have been doing the work from the U.S. attorney's office are heroes and they need more help. And so I'm grateful to see all the surge of federal resources here, but we need more forensic accountants and we need more prosecutors from doj. That's what would really help.
Neil W. McCabe
Well, I'm sure they're getting the message tonight and I'm sure a lot of people have been banging the pots and pans over this over the last few days. Kristin, where can people find you on the socials?
Kristen Robbins
Yes, please follow merobbinsmn or KristenRobbinsForGovernor and my website is also KristenRobbins ForGovernor. Thanks so much.
Neil W. McCabe
Fantastic. Thanks for being with us. Good luck to you and happy New Year to you.
Kristen Robbins
Happy New Year.
Neil W. McCabe
Joining me now is special assistant to President Trump, Army Lieutenant Colonel retired Derek Harvey. Colonel Harvey, it's great to see you again and I hope you had a great Christmas and I look forward to you having a great new year. How are you, sir?
Derek Harvey
We are doing well. And I found that article that you were just addressing the issue of Somalia's corruption there and the dropping of all those Somalian residents into that community be absolutely fascinating. Job well done.
Neil W. McCabe
Yeah, it's, there's another, there's another backstory if you want to go back to sort of Clinton, you know, in the 90s is really when they had that sort of that peak immigration into Minnesota, also California, Washington State, Ohio, you know, it was peaked under Clinton and the House Republicans when they were preparing the impeachment of President Clinton. They actually wanted to charge him with, with manipulating the immigration system for the electoral advantage, the political, electoral advantage of the Democratic Party in some of those states that were then called battleground states. And the Republican leadership said, no, no, no, we're not going to do that. You are not going to criticize immigration. You are going to leave this thing alone. And so the House Republicans, they were allowed to talk about Monica Lewinsky and perjury and manipulating witnesses, but the immigration thing was completely off the board. But it wasi mean, it was pretty significant. It didn't just show up. These people were, these people were basically brought in for the purposes of turning these, turning these battleground states more solidly towards the Republicans, towards the Democrats. And I think it's worked out very well. But getting to why I wanted to have you on tonight, Colonel, what is your read on the situation right now in Ukraine?
Derek Harvey
Well, the war continues to drag on and the negotiations drag on with gamesmanship and maneuvering by Moscow, particularly President Putin, especially with this most recent claim that the Ukrainians had fired 90 plus drones at his residence. It is seen by many in Europe and elsewhere, given the absence of any corroboration of that attack on his residents, that it's another maneuver by him to interrupt, install progress in the negotiations where there has been some significant progress made by, you know, the president and his team that have been working very artfully to try to find, you know, a way to bring the sides together. But when one side continues to be obstinate on some issues and then Zelensky has to get, in his view, security guarantees and what that looks like is still up in the air. They do want US Presence, which I think is, you know, a long shot on their part. And they do want to ensure some, you know, issues are addressed about territory and security guarantees as well as being able to join the European Union, et cetera. So there's still a long ways to go and the war is going to drag on for many more months, I think.
Neil W. McCabe
Well, I think that both Putin and Zelensky are trying to run out the clock. I think they have their eye on the midterm elections, which could change at least Zelensky does, which could very or even which could very much change the dynamic for him. And obviously, you know, President Trump, as it stands right now, you know, it could change as it stands right now, he will be term limited out at the, at the end of this current term. And so maybe they think that both sides think, hey, we'll just get a new cut of the, of the cards. But do you also see that, that Zelinsky saw, he, he will make statements that are Very favorable when he, or very conciliatory when he's with Trump. And then we've seen over and over again, as soon as he leaves Washington or leaves the White House or in this case leaves Mar A Lago, he seems to change his tune. Is that, is that just me or do you see that too, sir?
Derek Harvey
That's a pattern that is developed not just with Zelensky, but with, you know, some European leaders, you know, French and UK leaders in particular, as well as with Putin. And I would also say, you know, you get some, you know, amicable comments from President Xi in China at times, but then when he's voicing his concerns and his stance domestically or focused on, you know, an Asian summit, his tone and his substance changes substantially. So I think that's a pattern that has been developed.
Neil W. McCabe
Yeah, it's I, my own sort of clock, Colonel, is that the American people will put up with a war for about three years. And I would cite, I would cite World War II, I'd cite Korea, I would, you know, obviously we're told about how long a war, Vietnam was, but the real American combat operations, you know, you say 65, 66, you go three years. The American people, after about three years, even in Iraq, that's basically when they say they start looking at their clock. And I think you're even seeing that with both Ukraine and, and Gaza, that after about three years, the American people want out. Do you think other countries are aware that, that Americans get bored and frustrated and just want to move on. They almost, it almost seems like we don't care how this thing ends, we just want out. And are other countries aware of this and do they talk about it?
Derek Harvey
I think anybody that studied national security issues and the role of America in the world understands that point you just made. And unfortunately, since 1950, 53, America has been very adept at managing conflicts and wars to unacceptable outcomes with no real intent of actually winning the war and making the sacrifices of the men and women who have given their blood and the treasure of the American taxpayers that have been expended on these wars, you know, it's been for naught. And that's because it's been a decision not to win the war, not to really have war aims and being risk adverse. That's why you get a 20 year war in Afghanistan. Now to this issue of Gaza or the issue of, you know, Ukraine, Russia, we don't have troops on the ground, you know, and the President has made sure to really significantly decrease the amount of actual support, financial and from military weapons and munitions that we're giving to the Ukrainians, those are now being paid for by the Europeans. So there's been a shift in that dynamic. So, you know, there's been some fundamental shifts here. But Americans do want to get both of those issues out of the news cycle because they want, from what I'm reading, is to focus more on domestic issues as we head into this election campaign.
Neil W. McCabe
Well, thank you very much for joining us, Colonel. Where can people find you on the socials?
Derek Harvey
On Twitter it's Ernald Harvey. And on Truth Social it is Derek Harvey. Erich Harvey.
Neil W. McCabe
Fantastic. And I hope you're enjoying the Christmas season. And happy New Year to you, sir.
Derek Harvey
Same to you.
Neil W. McCabe
Well, you know, gold is up 40% this year and that's not speculation, that's reality. And if a portion of your savings isn't diversified into gold, you're missing the boat. Here's the facts. Inflation is still too high, the US Dollar is still too weak and the government debt is insurmountable. This is why central banks are flocking to gold. But it's not too late to buy gold from Birch Gold Group. They can help you convert an existing IRA or 401k into a tax sheltered Iraq. In gold, you don't have to pay a dime out of pocket. Just text America to 989-898 and claim your your free info kit. There's no obligation, just useful information. After the break, we're going to talk to retired Navy JAG officer and J6 defense attorney Don Brown about the anniversary of J6 and the J6 pardons. And there'll be more, more coming after that, I guarantee it. We're even going to talk about Gaza and Netanyahu in Israel. So hold on to your hat and we'll see you on the other side.

The radical left knows exactly what they're doing. They want to steal the election. We're going to to walk down Pennsylvania Avenue to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard. Events in Washington have taken a violent and tumultuous.
Kristen Robbins
January 6th wasn't just a moment in history. For thousands of Americans, it was the moment their voices were taken.
Neil W. McCabe
It's insurrection.
Dr. Kelly Victory
They were persecuted, hunted, seditious conspiracy.
Kristen Robbins
But behind prison walls, something unexpected happened.
Neil W. McCabe
They found their voice again, started singing the national anthem. We took it up to him at Mar a Lago. He goes, I'll put my voice on it. Our supporters made this go platinum.
Kristen Robbins
Real America's Voice is telling the real story of January 6th like you've never seen it before. Everybody, this must be peaceful. This is not the story you were shown.
Derek Harvey
I take responsibility.
Kristen Robbins
This is the story they lived government.
Neil W. McCabe
Entrapment scheme that this actually was.
Kristen Robbins
The J6 Patriots are no longer staying silent. They are speaking, they are standing, and they are telling the truth.
Neil W. McCabe
You can't kill us. You can't beat us.
Kristen Robbins
They tried to silence them. Instead, they woke up an entire nation. The Sleeping Giant coming soon.
Neil W. McCabe
Hey, welcome back. The Sleeping Giant is an amazing, amazing documentary which will not only help you understand J6 in a new way, but you'll also see and hear the J6 prisoners and not only how they suffered, but also how they're trying to rebuild their lives and how by finding their voice, they were able to use J6 platform. And certainly I don't think anybody would wish what happened to them, you know, on them or like, I'm not trying to say it was in any way a good thing, but there is something, and maybe this is my Irish Catholic upbringing coming out, that something does come out of suffering and struggle and being on the other side. And that's going to air on Real America's voice on January 5th. And I would encourage all of you to sort of make that appointment. Viewing at J6 is such a. Just a horrible, horrible event. A sort of. It's an indelible stain in a negative way on our nation's soul. But, you know, from my own perspective, just to talk silver linings again, it also exposed what we were up against. And it, you know, it really pointed out that these guys thought, I don't know how to put this, but it's like they thought there was such thing as a post Trump Republican Party, a post Trump America. And by Trump, I mean his voters, the people that arethat he actually stands up for. And they thought that everything was going to go back to the good old days. And it turns out it's not going back to the good old days because Trump is back and we're back and we're looking for answers. And with me now to discuss sort of J6 in the rearview mirror and kind of in forward is J6 defense lawyer and US Senate candidate from North Carolina, Don Brown. Don Brown, Commander, great to see you, man. It's been a long time. How you been, man?
Don Brown
It's been too long. But to see you tonight, it's a nice little New Year's present. Doing well. Hope you are too. Good to see you on TV again. I really, really have missed you and really appreciate you more than you know.
Neil W. McCabe
Yeah. Well, listen, for people who don't know, not Only is he J6 defense attorney and retired Navy Jaguar, but also a phenomenal, just phenomenal military historian who's covered things like the extortion 17 incident and was also very. I don't know if. Did you actually write about Clint Lawrence?
Don Brown
Yeah. You just wrote the book Travesty of Justice. The shocking prosecution of Clint worked very closely with our Secretary of War, Pete Hedseth. Pete and I worked almost for two years on that case which led up to President Trump pardoning Clinton. Rant's one of the. I still get goosebumps thinking about it. It's one of those things you're caught up in something that's larger than life. The president's pardoned two of my clients, Clint, and also a young man who was a Jay sick tree. You mentioned that as well. So I've been a really fortunate attorney to have President Trump step in and pardon two clients. And I still have to pinch myself to really it seems surreal, realistic sometimes, but I know the guy has fortitude and will stand against the blowing wind when the wind's blowing in the wrong direction. But thanks for asking about, thanks for mentioning distortion. Those parents will appreciate that. And thanks for remembering the Loranz case as well. We're making progress in the extortion investigation and Clint is now out and has been out and was released and after a 20 year sentence. So we're very, very grateful for the president stepping in that case.
Neil W. McCabe
Yeah. So listen, I brought you on to talk about J6. Looking back now as we approach that anniversary and the anniversary of the pardons, what is your take on J6? What was that thing really about to you, sir?
Don Brown
First, the farther we get away from it, the more the truth is unveiled. J6 was a Fed direction and I represent the youngest, probably the youngest J6 or Elliot Bechet. 20 years old. The kid walked into the Capitol, walked around, came out. His dad had been calling me. The FBI wanted to talk to Elliot. I would not let them. Around March 16th or 17th, I got a call, Elliot, from Elliot's dad that 12. Now get this, Neil, 12. He said, Don, I've got 12 FBI counterterrorism agents raiding my house right now. And I'm thinking, what'd the kid do? And I threw my suit on and go down to the federal courthouse in Columbia, meet with the U.S. attorney. Five misdemeanors. In fact, some of the counterterrorism agents were apologizing for the overkill that they had been ordered to engage in. And the prosecution on the backside have been an assault on the Constitution. Had another book come out, Kangaroo Court, last year, in one of the chapters, chapter 35, I analyzed, for example, the J6 prosecutions versus the George Floyd prosecutions. 95% of the George Floyd prosecutions in the misdemeanor categories were dismissed by Democrat prosecutors. But 98% of the J6 prosecutions were pressed forward by the D.C. government and the Justice Department. It's an assault in the Constitution.
Neil W. McCabe
Hey, Commander. Hold on, Commander. When you talk about the George Floyd prosecutions, you're not talking about the first responders and the police officers who are actually trying to just try to solve that problem that Floyd created. You're talking about the people who are burning our cities to the ground like the fires in 100 cities in that terrible summer.
Don Brown
That's right, Neil. 95% of those defendants were dismissed. And by Democrat prosecutors, 98% of the 1500 or so J6 defendants were prosecuted. In fact, I was in front of Judge Tanya Chuck and the same Democrat judge, that judge, that President Trump was in front of in the Jack Smith case that was appropriately, eventually dismissed. And I told the judge, said, you, Honor, this young man, all he did was he's been. He was my client. Elliot Bechet wound up pleading to one count of entering and remaining in a restricted area. Neil, that is a federal trespass penalty, a misdemeanor. And I told the judge, and she agreed, actually trespassing, you know, charges around the country are never resulting in incarceration, especially the first time. Usually there's a slap on the wrist and a fine, if even that. And a lot of times when First Amendment issues are involved, they're not even charged at all. But the crooked Biden Justice Department was intent and hell bent on prosecuting Trump supporters. Hey everybody, welcome back. This is Neil W. McCabe. Before you I'm subbing for Grant. So before you start complaining and calling the control room to say there's a problem with your set, Grant will be back. I'm just your substitute teacher tonight. On with me now is author and Real Clear Politics contributor and international business leader Kenan Spivak. And we're going to talk about the situation with Israel, Netanyahu, Gaza. Mr. Spivak, thank you very much for coming in.
Kenan Spivak
Thanks for having me. And happy New Year's Eve. Eve.
Neil W. McCabe
Yeah, really. Two weaves, right? What a deal. Yeah, the but before we, before we go deeper, I'm going to show a clip of of the president speaking. But before I go to the the president speaking, how do you think the president has handled the Gaza situation, which was literally dropped in his lap? He had nothing to do with it. It's just sort of one of those things. It's like cleanup in Ayal Gaza. What is your take on how he's done so far, sir?
Kenan Spivak
Almost perfectly. You know, the left would never give him credit for this, but excuse me, but Donald Trump really cherishes human life and he did everything he could to give a break to Hamas and to give them a chance and then another chance. But he's really had Israel's back in trying to bring to an end a terrible terrorist regime that didn't just massacre Israeli citizens, but massacres its own citizens. They're not using their guns currently to shoot Israelis. They're using their guns to shoot Palestinians in Gaza who just want to have a better life. So I think Donald Trump has done a fantastic job here.
Neil W. McCabe
Yeah. Before I go to the clip, I just, you know, since you're, you mentioned it, I think that almost everything the mainstream media tells me about President Donald J. Trump is wrong. And this is a man who's obviously right, a man of great compassion, but he has always described to me as some raving, lunatic, evil guy who just wants to destroy and hurt. And yet in any of my interactions with him, he's been patient, he's been considerate, he's listened to every word. And I know all politicians, all politicians. You know, you finish an interview with a guy, you think you're such good friends, you're going to go fishing next Saturday. But I think that in actual practice, if somebody took the time to watch how President Trump operates, you would understand that there's tremendous compassion and generosity in his heart and that's what's motivating him in other areas, but specifically Gaza. And I'm glad you mentioned that.
Kenan Spivak
Yeah. You know, in his pre political days, I did business with Donald Trump and I found him to be.
Don Brown
Really good.
Kenan Spivak
Person to do business with because he cared about the people involved in the deal, the people involved in the company. He was very gracious, he was very humble. I think as a politician, his language is to be fair, sometimes intemperate and tough. But underneath that, when you look at what he really cares about and you look at what he really tries to do, it's all about helping people, blue collar people, Americans and foreigners as well. I mean, he really is a compassionate person.
Neil W. McCabe
Yeah. We have a clip of the President speaking about the situation in Israel. Let's just go to that clip and then we'll come back. But they made an agreement that they were going to disarm. And you couldn't blame Israel, by the way. We have other countries that will come in and do it. They said, let us do it for you. If they don't, countries that were with them wanted the deal to be made, agreed that they would disarm. And now if they say they're going to disarm, that's fine. If they say they're not going to disarm, those same countries will go and wipe them out. I think that, and correct me if I'm wrong. Right. But I think, you know, what the President is really struggling with is that, you know, he wants to stay with Netanyahu. He trusts Netanyahu he understands that Netanyahu is, is the man at the helm. But at the same time, this thing has to be untangled. And, you know, it's this conundrum, you know, because you, you don't want to be too soft, you don't want to be too hard, and you're just trying to negotiate this thing because, because after Gaza, so many great things can happen. Things can, great things can happen for Israel. Great things, frankly, can happen for the Palestinians and the rest of the Middle East. How do you think he's struggling with that in the moment?
Kenan Spivak
Well, first, too many people see this as an Israel, Hamas or Israel Palestinian dispute, is certainly not an Israel Palestinian dispute. And the main combatants are Israel and Hamas. But most of the Arab world is on Israel's side in this, most of the Arab world has been supporting Israel whether they're in or not in the Abraham Accords throughout this period. Now, some of them sometimes wish Israel had gone a little more slowly, had spoken more gently, were back to the optics of how people talk. But the Middle east sees Hamas as the enemy. They see Iran as the enemy, and they see its proxies, Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, as the enemy, and they want to bring peace to the Middle East. And Donald Trump is not just Israel's friend, he's the friend of a lot of the Arab countries, even some where I'm not always certain he's right to be as friendly as he is. Really just one in particular, Qatar. But in the case of the other Arab countries and even Qatar, he's trying to assemble a coalition that's marching in the same direction, and that direction includes eliminating Iran and its proxies. So once again, I think Donald Trump has it right.
Neil W. McCabe
No, no. And I think you're absolutely spot on. Maybe the most important development in the Middle east in our lifetime, Kenan, is that the fact that President Trump was able to sort of pull, especially those Gulf states to, if not overtly pro Israeli. Certainly pro Israeli. Indeed. And certainly there's tremendous back channels that never existed. And I'm not just talking about the Abraham Accords. I'm talking about, you know, military and intelligence and economic cooperation, something that just would have seemed impossible, you know, say, 40 years ago. Before we go, where can people find you on the socials?
Kenan Spivak
I'm not on the socials, but they can find me at Real Politics and they can Google it, and that's the best way.
Neil W. McCabe
You heard it here first. Just Google it and you'll find him. Thanks a lot, Kevin. All right, we'll see you after the break. Thanks for tuning in. We'll see you on the other side.

Well, it's the holiday season and on top of everything else, what you have to worry about is all the illnesses and diseases that your kids bring into your house from playing with their friends and going outside and of course, the struggle with the cold and certainly in some parts of the country are absolutely getting buried tonight. And so our heart goes out to them. And so what we want to do is we want to stay healthy and we better be hardy so that we're good and strong in the new year. And with me now is chief of disaster and emergency medicine for the wellness company, Dr. Kelly Victory. Good evening, doctor. How are you?
Dr. Kelly Victory
I'm well, thanks, and thanks for having me, Neil.
Neil W. McCabe
I'm glad you're well because it always makes me nervous when the doctor's sick. So.
Dr. Kelly Victory
All right.
Neil W. McCabe
Christmas has come and gone and many families have returned home. But unfortunately for millions of Americans, an unwelcomed guest has arrived and it isn't leaving. And that's the triple demic of flu, RSV and Covid. Can you talk to us about why these three viruses are so rampant this time of year?
Dr. Kelly Victory
Well, the reality, Neal, is that these viruses are ubiquitous. They're in the environment all the time. And without question, they are more common in the winter months, in part because of the cold, wet weather, also because people are inside in closer quarters and many of us are not getting as much natural sunlight as we get at other times of the year. But the reality is there's nothing thus far about this particular flu season that leads me to believe it's going to be any worse than previous ones. There's no question that influenza burden is cyclic. Some years are worse than others. In a particularly mild year, we might see as few as 9 million cases. In a more robust year, you might see 40 or 45 million. But thus far, there is no indication that the influenza outbreak, even with the concomitant RSV and Covid, is going to be any worse. And your lead in was perfect. The answer to this is honestly to be a good steward of your own immune system, to pay attention to the basics, good sleeping habits, regular exercise, good nutrition, stress mitigation. And it's hard sometimes at this time of year around the holidays, we all tend to overindulge a little bit, perhaps get a little bit less exercise than we normally would, and we end up burning the candle at both ends. So it's all about overall wellness and paying attention to your immune system.
Neil W. McCabe
Yeah, you're going through that list and I'm going, I'm reading it as you're saying it. I'm going, no, no. I'm like, oh for fork. But I promised my wife in January I will behave. Honestly, this time. This year is the year I behave. We are getting reports that cases of the triple demic are surging all across the country. And in New York alone, hops hospitalizations have spiked 75%. Do you expect this triple demic to get worse before it gets better?
Dr. Kelly Victory
Well, the numbers will continue to rise. That's the natural course of influenza season. So we won't be out of this until probably the end of March. But as I said, the numbers people are unfortunately bludgeoned continually, Neil, by the mainstream media trying to raise the fear flag. This started in Covid and it was expedient for them, so they continue it. But again, the numbers simply do not reflect something at this juncture, at least that is worrisome to me. And if people are concerned, they would do themselves a lot of good to do things like start with the using some nasal sprays and oral sprays that are very, very good at decreasing viral burden. People need to understand viruses are out there. The most common route of entrance is through your nose and mouth, but they don't immediately go to your lung. They stay in that oropharynx for a while, sometimes a day or so, replicating. So if you can do something as simple is using a nasal spray or oral spray to decrease that viral burden, you can avoid ever getting infected with influenza, RSV or Covid at all?
Neil W. McCabe
No, no. And you're talking about fear, of course, you know with fear is a problem when you don't have tools to deal with it.
Dr. Kelly Victory
Correct.
Neil W. McCabe
And so if you aren't able to avoid one of these viruses or all three of them, do you recommend early treatment? If you do, what prescription drugs do you think Americans should have on hand?
Dr. Kelly Victory
Early treatment is always the key, Neil. And most people frankly will do well just with over the counter medications. Tylenol, ibuprofen, decongestants and antihistamines, simple cough medicines, those sorts of things. If people are concerned, however, or if they have underlying health risks that might put them at higher risk for a severe outcome then having medications like Tamiflu on hand, it is very effective if taken early. You can't wait until you've been sick for 48 hours to initiate it. And that's why we recommend that people have it on hand ahead of time. That along with, as I said, the oral sprays and nasal sprays, very, very good at fighting off ever even getting infected. Most people will do well without even ever going to the doctor, certainly not to the urgent care or emergency department. And for those people who are at higher risk, then we absolutely recommend that they have some of these medications on hand. The other thing is you are at higher risk for developing a bacterial infection on top of influenza. So having some routine antibiotics on hand ahead of time is also good measure.
Neil W. McCabe
Yeah, well, hey, that's all very good advice and I think people should be aware of all of those things. Chief of Disaster and Emergency Medicine for the wellness company, Dr. Kelly Victory.
