It is no secret that President Trump wants America to have Greenland. How that plays out is anyone's guess. The media wants you to believe that somehow the United States is going to march in there and take Greenland by force I do not actually see that happening. I think in the end the United States will get whatever it wants when it comes to Greenland. But the media wants to play this up as President Trump somehow going to march over there and take Greenland by force. Listen to this interaction today at the White House on NATO.

What are the options? Right now I wouldn't be telling you what I'm willing to do. Certainly I'm not going to give up options, but it's very important. Greenland is very important for the national security, including of Denmark. And the problem is there's not a thing that Denmark can do about it if Russia or China wants to occupy Greenland. But there's everything we can do. You found that out last week with Venezuela. There's everything we can do about things such as that. Not going to happen again. Look, I don't believe President Trump's going to go take it by force. We already have an agreement with Greenland and Denmark. It goes back to the 1950s that we can have military bases there. We have one. I think the agreement calls for the ability for us to put as many bases as we want in there. So there's probably more to play at this to national security, like some of the resources that Greenland has as well. So the foreign minister of Denmark came to the White House today. These are the real tough guys. I mean, look at these people. They're not going to put up a fight to Russia. They're not going to put up a fight to China. And I would think they're going to pose no threat to President Trump when it comes to negotiating what President Trump wants to happen with Greenland. That is them arriving at the White House today. The foreign minister said this after his meeting with Vice President Vance and Secretary of State Rubio. On this basis, we had what I will describe as a frank but also constructive discussion. The discussions focused on how to ensure the long term security in Greenland.

And here our perspectives continue to differ.

I must say the president has made his view Clear. And we have a different position. Look, Denmark's a NATO country. Europe, though, is very weak right now. China and Russia most certainly would want Greenland. It is very precious real estate in that region. Now how much would it cost to buy Greenland? Some people throw the 700 billion number around. I'm sure Trump could get it for less than that if you got him negotiating it. I'm not sure you're going to have to do this. Maybe you sign a hundred year lease for Greenland. There's all kinds of creative ways you could get this than going in by force. To talk about some of these ideas, I want to bring in the former United States ambassador to the Republic of Iceland under President Trump. He is now a congressional candidate out in Nevada. Dr. Jeffrey Gunter is with us. Doc, great to have you on the program. Mr. Ambassador. Thanks for coming on.

Always great to be with you. Grant. As usual, you're talking about a tough topic that's so important for the national security of America. Spot on.

Well, it's amazing that we're getting to the point of talking about what can we do to take Greenland. Am I correct that there's already an agreement in place that we can have just about any military base we want on the island of Greenland? How does that work, Ambassador?

Dr. Jeffrey Gunter
Well, we have military agreements with all our NATO countries. For example, if you take Iceland, the neighbor of Greenland, we have a defense agreement with them. Iceland doesn't even have a military there. We have a defense agreement with them to protect Iceland if they're attacked in Greenland. It's of great strategic importance to America. And President Trump highlighted this four years ago when we saw the whole brouhaha about him broaching this topic about buying Greenland and people went crazy. But as you know, President Trump is not a game player. He says what he means and back then he mentioned the importance of Greenland and to today it's even more important. Let's face it, there's a lot of Russians and Chinese combing around in the high north as the Arctic melts. There's important waterways, there's important national resources there. But most importantly is a critical element of defending the homeland of America. And President Trump will obviously not stand by and let the Russians and the Chinese assert positions there. Remember, it's like the game of musical chairs. It's a lot easier to occupy the chair than to try to remove someone once they're sitting in that chair.

You know, I guess, Ambassador, I'm somewhat confused of why Denmark and Greenland are pushing back as much as they are on all of this. I mean, you would think you would want the United States and not China or Russia inside your country. I mean, we do have the best interest really of the world at heart. Certainly President Trump does. What is the problem from them? What is the pushback about all this?

Dr. Jeffrey Gunter
I have absolutely no idea. It might just be the fact that President Trump is suggesting this. Look, it they gave a huge pushback four or five years ago when President Trump first brought it up, and they're doing it again. But the harsh reality is there's only one country that can protect the sovereignty of Greenland, and that's the United States. Not Denmark, not Germany. No other country can protect the people of Greenland, of which there's about 56,000. And it's a dwindling population. The population is declining there. And it is essential. It's essential part for vigilance and protection of the United States. And the Chinese would love to have their Northwest Passage, cruising their ships much closer through the area to carry out their polar Silk Road network is what they're really dreaming of. And President Trump won't tolerate it. He will make sure that America is safe and is part of putting making America safe again. It's essential.

It's important, I guess. Last question for you. I believe there's more to this than just the military aspect of it. I think Greenland has natural resources that we could use and maybe some natural resources that currently we rely on China for. Is that part of the equation here as well?

Dr. Jeffrey Gunter
You're absolutely right. They do have a lot of natural resources there that are untapped. Now, whether that's the primary goal here or whether there's other issues going on, I'm sure that the United States is not happy about China coming in close to the US Borders, close to our hemisphere and exploiting natural resources out of a neighboring country. You won't let them do it. Let's face it, Denmark has not the ability to stop them from doing it. And President Trump's not going to stand by. And there is historical relevance to this. We all remember when Iceland was actually invaded by Great Britain during World War II to prevent the Germans from going in there. So it's not completely unprecedented. I don't believe that we're going to do it with force, but I do believe it's essential that through the national security, and President Trump has that in mind.

Absolutely. Thank you so much, Ambassador. All right, I want to turn now to the Trump economic miracle. That's what I'm calling it. I was expecting the Supreme Court to come out with its ruling on President Trump's tariffs today. The markets were going crazy waiting for this. It will have an effect on the markets, I would assume. The question is when will they come down with this ruling again? I said it's expected today. I believe they have to leave President Trump's tariffs in place. But beyond that, listen to me and I want to give some advice to the Trump administration. Just follow President Trump's lead, okay? We don't need gimmicky campaign, non free market ideas. All right. Let me give you some examples of what's being pushed around here. It's not often I disagree with the administration, but I don't like capping credit card interest rates. You know why? I know you probably say you like it, but here's why. If you have no credit, you're not going to get a credit card at 10%. The reason they charge 25% is because many people don't pay their bills and the credit card companies are left footing the bill. I don't think the government should get involved in setting any kind of rates. I don't think the government should put $200 billion into Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Do we not remember the housing crisis? We don't need more government money. Chasing real estate. That's only going to push real estate up. Good if you already own a home. Not so good if you're trying to buy one. Get interest rates down. Fed. That's how you make housing more affordable. Not by decreasing the price of the house, but by decreasing the cost of the loan. And finally, I would say we don't need to be investing as a nation in intel or defense contractors. I would like to know who in President Trump's administration is pushing these ideas because they don't sound like free market ideas to me. So, Mr. President, keep doing what you're doing. The proof is in the pudding. Inflation under Trump now 2%. It was at 1.5% this time in his first term, 6.6% under Joe Biden at this time in Biden's term. Listen to Kevin Hassett, President Trump's economic guru. How to think about what we should say to the world. The interesting thing is that President Trump has made us the shining city on the hill again.

So again, we don't need non free market ideas. We just need to unleash the Trump agenda. What is that? Lower fuel prices, of course, the tariffs have played a big role in all of this. International investment in America, of course, getting the border under control, all that works. We don't need price controls. Look, at the end of the day, I think what the President really needs to focus on here is what has made his agenda so successful thus far. And, and just double down on that. That means tax reform, regulatory reform, energy reform, these are the things that are driving down prices, that are creating jobs. Those, those are all wins for the American people. It's what has made him successful thus far and it's what will continue to make him successful if he continues to do those things. It's a very simple formula.

All right, E.J. the Supreme Court set to rule on tariffs. Do you have any expectation of what they may do? I mean, I actually think it would be disastrous if they overruled President. Your thoughts on where we stand with that and what the Supreme Court might do?

E.J. Antoni
You know, in the long run, Grant, I don't think virtually any decision that they're going to make is going to have much of an impact. The reason I say that is because the President has a lot of other options, a lot of other tools in the toolkit, if you will, that he can use to implement tariffs. That's not to say he can do them with the same speed as iipa. Right. You have Section two, three, two tariffs, for example. Again, he has a lot of different options that he can use, some of which he used during his first term. And those tariffs, in fact, are still in place today. The courts have already ruled that using those types of authorities is perfectly constitutional. It's been done before, it can be done again. So they are, they are a little more complicated, they take more time to implement. Again, it doesn't give the President the same degree of flexibility, but he can simply replace all the IPA tariffs with that. If I had to guess, I think it's maybe most likely what the court is going to do is rule that the tariffs, the way he has created them with ipa, are, in fact, unconstitutional. However, for the sake of not creating chaos, what has already been imposed on will be allowed to stand and that money does not have to be refunded by the Treasury.

All right? And the treasury has come out and said, we have the money to refund if we have to. And it is interesting because if we remember the markets when President Trump instituted these tariffs, they crashed and they thought this was going to be the worst. Then they realized, hey, you know what? This is working. And the markets rallied like we've never seen before. So you may be right that if, you know, God forbid, they overturn these tariffs, well, that's what the markets originally wanted. So why would the markets go down if that's what they originally wanted in the first place? But here I am trying to think with reason. And when it comes to these markets, sometimes, I don't know, they don't seem reasonable. E.J.

E.J. Antoni
Well, Grant, part of, I think part of what's at play here is the fact that the administration has continued to refine their tariff strategy. I can give you just one very good example that's also very recent, when the administration decided to roll back, to roll back the tariffs on things like coffee and bananas. And the reason for that was because American consumers don't have any kind of domestic alternatives to those things. And so the cost of the tariff in that particular instance does end up getting passed on to the American consumer. So the administration was wise to roll that back. So what I'm getting at here, Grant, is the fact that as the tariff strategies continue to be refined over time, they have less and less of a detrimental impact on markets. And so that's why I think the Liberation Day reaction ends up being overblown.

You know, E.J. i'm so glad you brought that up, because really, this is the brilliance of President Trump. And it's someone who's confident in what they do. They're not afraid to pivot off of something because they're afraid they're going to look bad or someone will assume they were wrong. President Trump does this on a lot of issues. He'll pivot when he sees it's better to go in a different direction. And I think that's one reason why our country is headed in the right direction right now. They're standing up to their current regime even in the face of death. Now, we know that thousands of Iranian, quote, protesters, freedom fighters have been killed by this regime. But now we see this thanks to the New York Post showing from the Iranian broadcast network. They put up a picture of President Trump. And you know what it reads in English. This is the threat of all threats. This time it will not miss the target. That's President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, after the assassination attempt. That is a hell of a threat coming from Iran. I would not threaten this man. Just listen to President Trump yesterday that.

They better behave and they better because you better believe President Trump means business when it comes to this. All right, Matt, you are always breaking news. You come up with very interesting things that are going on around the globe here in the United States. You said about the embassy, the UK Embassy. Can you tell me what you're seeing and hearing about this and, and where that stands?

Matt Tardeo
Yeah, the UK Embassy was evacuated very, very early this morning. You know, here in The United States, around 8:30am local time, finally evacuated. And then they did come out later on and confirm that they did in fact end up evacuating the embassy later on this afternoon. And that kind of ties into the overall grand scheme of things to where if the UK is that concerned that they're going to be evacuating. That is the typical type of thing that we see before military action. Several other nations, including Australia, I think was maybe the first one I saw come out to evac their embassies just a couple days ago. So that tells us there's some impeding military action that's likely going to be taking place there.

And why you said these are embassies here in the United States?

These are the ones over inside of Iran. So that that particular UK Embassy was downtown in Tehran and that that thing got evacuated really, really quick because in my opinion, they're worried about the place being attacked by U.S. aircraft.

Okay, so do you think that military action is, is inevitable on behalf of the Trump administration now as, as the killing? I believe it's continuing. Iran says it's stopping. Your thoughts?

Matt Tardeo
Yeah, you know, the numbers are a lot worse than, than I think had been reported talking to a friend from Israel earlier that that has the connections with the, the powers that be and that the figures that I got told were right around 30, 000 roughly that have been killed over inside of Iran. When we start talking about what is it that the United States is doing and is it inevitable that we're going to go in and bomb and take out the Ayatollah, that that really would. Right. Taking out the military wouldn't do very much. What you actually need is in order for a successful insurgency like that, in order for a successful regime change, you're going to need the military on your side in order for that to happen. So likely what, you know, the president would be doing if he did authorize such an attack, which the irgc, who the Ayatollah commands, is a foreign terror organization. So he does have those types of authorities. You know, he would be able to go after him in such a manner. Same reason we're able to go rip out Maduro. You know, we had an indictment for him, so we can go over and we can pick him up. That was a law enforcement action, not a military action, according to the administration. Ultimately, though, when I say why is it that, you know, we would even bother taking part in that, you know, on top of the terrorism that they end up spreading around the Middle east, on top of the instability, it goes to the support towards Russia and it goes to support towards China. And so as far as global security concerned, you know, just like you were talking about Greenland earlier, this is, this really does tie into that because the amount of money laundering that they do for China and also the amount of military support that they're providing to Russia in their war against Ukraine.

Matt, what do you think the ultimate effect has been now on Russia and China? When you look at Venezuela close to falling, Cuba could go as well. We've cut the oil off from Cuba. That's devastating from them. I say we President Trump. And then of course, what's happening in Iran?

Matt Tardeo
Well, I think we can look at Russia's actions when it goes down to that and say how are the effects working on them? The Bella one, when it was on its way over towards Venezuela and the US went to go interdict it and it turned around and tucked tail and it started to run, reflagged itself as a Russian vessel, we ended up sending in some of our highly trained troops to go take that vessel. Russia dispatched a nuclear submarine to go protect it in some surface vessels. From what I got told that that Russian sub was actually watching it as it went down because we had already, in my opinion, had everything pre positioned ready to cut that vessel off when we ended up taking it aboard that vessel. It's now reported that there was a little over three tons of gold, some weapons components that were on their way over into Iran that would have allowed you people inside of Venezuela to target the United States. It would have provided that additional targeting capability and reach in order to do that, along with some other things that were on that vessel. And so I, I, I'll be honest with you, you know, when you're talking about three tons of gold, you know, Russia and China are very worried about the United States going after their monetary system and being able to send this money back and forth because of the sanctions and stuff that go on it. They don't want us to seize it. Last year Russia and Iran actually launched, you know, a practice program, if you will, for how they're going to be sending money back and forth on a separate system so that the United States and the EU can't interdict that money. Well, what they're doing very clearly after the Bella one is they're, they're doing it with gold and they're doing it with oil. You know, China was sending a bunch of money over to Maduro. And so when we're cutting off that oil going into Venezuela what we're doing is we're cutting off what we're doing is we're cutting off China from getting repaid all of the yen that they printed off over to Venezuela and oil and that affects their economy. And then when you look at what China is doing with the silver market and how they're capitalizing on that, they were, you know, they control about 60 of the exports for, for the world, you know, and, and they just cut off the U. S. Defense industry last month and they obviously, you know, put a huge restriction on it. You guys can see the cause of that in the market. So they're playing these games back and forth, but it's not working out so good for them. I think they're hurting pretty bad. Otherwise they wouldn't be dispatching nuclear subs for a measly three tons of gold.

So really, if you want to exercise your constitutional first right, which says that you have the right to peaceably assemble, to redress grievances with your government, the word protest has only been adopted by the courts throughout the years, but it has only been adopted in a peaceful form. Going out and protesting obstructing law enforcement is illegal. In most cases, these people should have been arrested. But ICE doesn't have the bandwidth to be arresting American citizens because they're looking for those criminals who are in this country illegally. And if these folks would just get out of the way nobody would get hurt.

And the first hit piece they've ever came out with was on the Disinformation Dozen. This is a slippery slope because what they said was that it was hate speech. What we were talking about, we were exposing the corruption behind the vaccine, exposing the manipulation of data that the government was pushing on the American people. And we were talking, raising awareness on the dangers of the MRNA technology. And what they said, they said that they could censor us because it was, it was deemed hateful. And so, you know, George Martin said, we need to cut out a man's tongue. You don't prove him a liar, but you are fearful of what he has to say. And I believe it was George Washington who stated that if they take away our freedom of speech, then dumb and silent will be led like sheep to slaughter. So the IMRAD's article, the disinformation dozen list, came out. And so we are, we're filing a lawsuit against them to protect our freedoms and protect our liberties.
