This is an I Heart podcast.
Andrew Colvett
The Charlie Kirk show starts now and.
William J. Kelly
We'Re going to flood the zone sanctuary cities.
Andrew Colvett
I said it, I've said it a thousand times.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
They're going to get exactly what they don't want.
William J. Kelly
More agents in the communities and more works on enforcement. If they won't let us arrest a bad guy in the safety and security.
Charlie Kirk
Of a county jail.
Joe Edlow
If we had addressed this by amending the welcoming city ordinance several months ago.
Aaron Sabarium
We would not be in this position.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Today, in my opinion, if we had shown a willingness to work with Donald.
Aaron Sabarium
Trump, Tom Holman and Kristi Noemi to say, look, we know you know where.
Joe Edlow
The high priority targets are. Let us help you when we arrest them, we'll let you know. I think we'd be in a very different spot than where we find ourselves today.
Andrew Colvett
We have reason to believe that the.
Aaron Sabarium
Trump administration has already begun staging the.
Andrew Colvett
Texas National Guard for deployment in Illinois. I want to be very clear on this point and I want to speak directly to the press right now. We know before anything has happened here that the Trump plan is to use any excuse to deploy armed military personnel to Chicago. If he comes to Chicago, he's going to be in court and he's going to be sued by the state, he's.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Going to be sued by the city.
Andrew Colvett
And I believe that there would private interests that also sue him. This is not about violent crime. And I don't think we should pretend that this manufactured crisis and his attempt to provoke people in Chicago is legitimate exercise of power. It is not.
Aaron Sabarium
You know, I actually think that J.B. pritzker should do something radical.
Andrew Colvett
I think he should pick up the phone, call the president and say, let's partner up.
Aaron Sabarium
These are the most dangerous parts of my state. We would love to, to figure out how to have a partnership that's constitutional, that respects the sort of balance of federalism between the federal government and the.
Andrew Colvett
State government and let's work together to save lives.
Aaron Sabarium
Because right now, just that, hey, nothing to see here.
Andrew Colvett
Moving along.
Aaron Sabarium
No problem here. Hey, Donald Trump, we don't need you. And you know the mayor talking about, we're, we're going to protect people's dignity in our city, will protect their lives.
Andrew Colvett
That'S protecting their dignity.
Aaron Sabarium
He's declaring, he's declared nine emergencies since he's elected so that he can violate all sorts of constitutional norms when it comes to deporting people and all sorts of.
Andrew Colvett
Do you believe it is violating constitutional.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Norms for the president, the head of the federal government, the head of the.
Andrew Colvett
Executive branch to be enforcing federal immigration.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Law because a big issue here. There are over a half a million illegal immigrants in Illinois.
Andrew Colvett
I suspect most of them live in and around Chicago. Why wouldn't you surge federal law enforcement resources to the place where that many.
Charlie Kirk
People are violating federal law?
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
We will never be able to end gun violence in Chicago as long as the president continues to allow tens of thousands of guns to be trafficked into our state and our city. Vast majority of guns do not come from Chicago. They are not made in Cook County.
Andrew Colvett
They are not bought in the state of Illinois.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
These guns come from red states. They are coming from Indiana.
Andrew Colvett
They are coming from Mississippi.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
They are coming from Louisiana.
Andrew Colvett
That is the harsh reality. Whether Republicans like it or not, occupying our city will do nothing to solve this problem. You know, all of the companies here are building, just making huge investments in the country in order to, to build out data centers and infrastructure to power the next wave of innovation. So it's, you know, we don't often get together as the CEOs of the different companies, but it's.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
It's good to see everyone.
Andrew Colvett
How much are you spending, would you say, over the next few years? Oh, gosh, I mean, I think it's probably going to be something like at least $600 billion through 20 in the US such that we could make a major investment in the United States and have some key manufacturing, advanced manufacturing here. I think that says a lot about your focus and your leadership and your focus on innovation. I also want to thank you for.
Charlie Kirk
Helping American companies around the world.
Andrew Colvett
This is a very key thing. How much money would you be investing? 600 billion.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
600 billion.
Charlie Kirk
All right.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
It's a lot of.
Andrew Colvett
We're very proud to do it. That's great. Thank you very much.
Charlie Kirk
Thank you.
Andrew Colvett
Charlie Kirk.
Joe Edlow
Every day there's a battle for your mind raging information coming from every angle with the will to deceive Fear not, you found the place for truth the voice of a generation that still has the will to believe in the greatest country in the history of the world. This is the Charlie Kirk Show.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Buckle up. Here we go. Welcome to the Charlie Kirk show, everybody. Stations across the coast, from coast to coast around the country. Real America's voice podcasting everybody who's listening to the sound of my voice. Honored to be with you as always. Charlie Kirk is on assignment. I, as always, am your faithful guest host. Honored to be with you here@the bitcoin.com mobile studios. We have so much to get to and by the way, tons of news to get to. But first, I can't wait to talk to my first guest here, Joe Edlow, who is the new director of U.S. citizenship and Immigration Services for the Trump administration. And they have some breaking news this morning that is just, it almost sounds too good to be true to my ears. But breaking this morning, this is from the Wall Street Journal agency that issues visas and green cards is hiring armed agents. And they're not just going to be arresting immigrants who break the law. They are going to be working on arresting the lawyers that help them break the law. And I'm so excited to talk with Director Edloe. Welcome to the show. Honored to have you here. Please tell us about this, this, this breaking news.
Joe Edlow
Well, first of all, thanks so much for having me. Yeah, we're really excited about this, this new opportunity. When I got confirmed, I said that my mission here was to restore the integrity of the immigration system. One of the big problems with the immigration system is the rampant fraud within that system. We already have great officers that are trying to find fraud and ferret it out. We have our fraud detection, national security officers right now. However, they can only take a case so far without having to refer it to another federal agency to complete an investigation, maybe bring a case forward for prosecution. No longer need. Now USCIS has the ability to hire special agents, an investigative force that is gonna go out there, take these cases to their natural conclusion, which is in these cases of big, big types of fraud patterns, we're gonna take that, get them prosecuted across the country by U.S. attorneys.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Yeah. And the big thing here also, when I was reading through this piece, Mr. Director, is that the focus is not just on the immigrants. Right. I mean, there's a lot, you see this in the, in the headlines with ICE raids. And so you're constantly thinking, okay, we're folks focused on getting the illegals out of the country, but this is legal immigration. So that's an important distinction here. And you are going after the lawyers who are enabling so much of this fraud. And it kind of struck me as you know, you go after the abortionist rather than the woman that had the abortion. You go after the drug cartel versus the small level dealers. You can, in effect, by targeting the lawyers who are scamming the system, have a much broader and more immediate impact. Is that the strategy here, sir?
Joe Edlow
It is. You've got plenty of cases where you've got aliens who are committing fraud a lot who are not committing fraud, but those that are, maybe they're doing it just themselves. But where you've got large scale fraud Fraud factories. You've got attorneys involved, you've got preparers involved, you've got fraudulent, fraudulent document preparers involved. All of that needs to be targeted in order to restore the integrity of this system. And that's what we're going to be doing. So absolutely, it's a bigger, it's a bigger canvas that we're looking at going after than just an individual case where we found some irregularities or misrepresentations.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
That's fantastic news. So, you know, you're taking on a really big job, a really important job, one that has not gotten nearly as much, I think, attention is the illegal immigration thing. I happen to be of the school of thought that yes, we have a massive illegal immigration problem, but we have a massive legal immigration problem in this country. People don't assimilate, they don't love our country. We not vetting for values and ability to not go immediately on the government dole when they get here. As you have taken this job, I mean, grade the situation as you found it. I mean, how bad is it?
Joe Edlow
Grade it? It was an F when I found it. The legal immigration system is critical to this country, but it's gotta work. It can't work when it's overwhelmed. And when the previous administration put all of its resources to help people get the border to move, to get into random employment authorization queues and ultimately nothing was going through. Nothing. All the immigration attorneys that were filing legitimate forms were kind of just sitting around waiting because the agency was so focused on helping the illegal population. It's left us with a complete mess. We need to untangle it. Now. You mentioned those that are going on the government dime. We just put out yesterday a memo making it abundantly clear that we expect our officers, when they are looking at cases, to look at whether somebody might become the technical term, a public charge. If they are, we expect them to deny these cases. Same with assimilation. Assimilation is critical. And we are looking at ways to make the naturalization test more in line with the congressional mandate as to what it should be. We want to see a real attachment to the Constitution. We want to be able to measure that. We want to see real questions that, that people understand the civic responsibility that it means to become a United States citizen. And more importantly, we wanna see an actual understanding of the English language more than just reading and writing a single sentence.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Amen. Amen. You are. I would get up and clap right now if I could. I have some rapid fire questions for you. How many people do we naturalize a year?
Joe Edlow
Roughly a little under A million per year, depending on the ebb and.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Okay, how many was Joe Biden doing?
Joe Edlow
You know, I couldn't tell you the actual numbers. I'll get that for you.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
But they rushed it though, right? They were surging.
Joe Edlow
It was surging everything. It was surging getting people employment authorization documents. It was surging naturalization, but more so. I don't care about the raw numbers. What I care about here is the fact that it was a get to yes mentality. It was a rubber stamp for everyone who filed before this agency to that they were gonna get their benefits. And frankly, I believe, and I've heard it anecdotally, that my officers were essentially told get to yes or be prepared to very clearly articulate why you had to deny something. Listen, I'm not trying to tell my officers to deny. I'm not telling them to grant. I am telling them to make sure that the law is followed. Excuse me. That when discretion plays a role, that the discretion that matters, the only discretion that matters is what is in the best interest of this nation and the people of this great. And ultimately, I want to make sure that justice is done. And that is what I'm trying to do in this agency.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
I love it. And I think you're you again. There's probably thousands of people hearing the sound of your voice right now, clapping and slow clapping. And just for putting sanity in place in such a critical node of our federal government. Another question you mentioned English language proficient proficiency. Is that a standard currently to become a citizen of the United States or to get a green card?
Joe Edlow
Either or not to get a green card. And we're looking at that. But in terms of the law right now, as Congress has. Has written it, yes, there is a requirement for naturalization that an alien understand to a degree and read and write English. However, the way that has been put into practice is with a single sentence that they have to read and a single sentence that they have to write. I've made it clear that our officers need to take a more dynamic approach during the interviews. Ask questions, say, do you understand what. What I'm being. What you're being asked right now? Can you put this question in your own words and see what comes back? Now I have to give my officers credit. Some have already been doing this for years, but others have not. They've been following a script and we need to break them of these bad habits. And we're doing that. I've seen the officers now, I've gone to interviews where I saw someone get denied because they clearly did not understand the English language. That's what we want to see.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
What happens when they get denied? Do they. Well, go ahead. Do they get to go back home where they, where they're from? Like what's the.
Joe Edlow
Well, no, because they are green card holders. If they're denied for citizenship and it's because of something like that, there's no fraud in the application. There's nothing else. So we really don't have a way to, to start removal proceedings. However, if there are criminal, criminal actions that we found that's going to be referred and that ultimately is going to result in deportation.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Director Edlow, could you just stay with me through the break just for a few more minutes? Sure. We'll make it quick. But I just have so many questions for you if you're watching on stream more in just a second. We'll be right back.
Joe Edlow
Speaking the truth, no one else has the guts to say the Charlie Kirk Show.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
All right. Welcome back to the Charlie Kirk Show. What a fantastic discussion. Director Edloe is doing fantastic work at a really, really important agency within our federal government. I want to tell you about why refi. That is why refi.com private student loan debt in the US totals about 300 billion. About 45 billion of that is distressed. Why Refi refinances distressed or defaulted private student loans that others simply will not touch. They provide you with a custom loan amount based on your ability to pay. Why Refi? Importantly, this is not a debt settlement company. So why Refi can reduce your monthly payment and guarantees interest rates under 6% ensuring affordability and financial relief. They don't care what your credit score is. So again, if this is you, please go to yrefi.com that's yre f-y.com please check it out or go to y call 888 y refi 34 they are also great supporters of this show and Turning Point usa. We have our tour starting next week with Charlie on the road again. It's going to be absolutely bonkers. People don't realize this but the fall tour going into the election was a massive success. There's no doubt. I mean it was, it blew, blew up, went mega, mega viral, probably helped put President Trump in the White House. I don't think that is a surprise to anybody here or overstating the case. But the spring tour did 2x the numbers on social media and probably in person. So we hope to see more growth there. And why Refi is a great partner that helps make that happen. So really excited about that. Guys, the next segment is going to be really critical. We're going to go into the AI Dinner that President Trump hosted last night. Melania Trump at the White House. Really important. Don't go anywhere. Lots to cover. And by the way, good news for the economy. Capital expenditures are extraordinarily high and up. Don't go anywhere. We'll be right back. All right, welcome back, everybody. Stations from coast to coast across the country. My name is Andrew Colvitt. I'm the executive producer of this fine show and sometimes fill in guest host when Charlie is on the road. He's on assignment in Asia and I'm here holding it down@the bitcoin.com mobile studio. Honored to be with you all, per usual, as always. So I want to get into last night's dinner. It was an AI Summit dinner. I mean, this was a who's who of the lords of Wall street and Silicon Valley, but especially Silicon Valley. We had Sam Altman from OpenAI, Tim Cook. We had Google, we had AMD, we had Meta. There was even Bill Gates. The Internet is ablaze in anger and frustration at the President for having bill gates there. Mr. Fake Food and shots. He loves shots. He loves medicine. He loves anything artificial. So I get that. I get the frustration. That guy has a lot of money, all right. And when you're trying to increase the economic spend in the country, I think it's justifiable. But he was one of many. And so I want to play some of these, these clips because guess what? They're all singing the praises of the president. And we did a whole segment Charlie did earlier in the week on China. China rushes out this massive, massive military parade, and they're sending a message to the world that we're China, we're powerful, we got military stuff, we got nukes. We can hit you America. A lot of their munitions are capable of reaching the United States. So this is a very, very serious situation. Yeah. And you see some of these images right now. But one thing that China does not have, China does not have a beat on us. They are not any actually anywhere close. I know there was the, the deep seek situation earlier in the year, but here's what people need to realize is that AI is a fundamentally American advantage right now. And why? Partly because of the chips. The chips. Now, President Trump has negotiated a deal with AMD that where the treasury gets like, I think it's 15%. Don't quote me. It might be 10%, where the treasury gets money from chip sales to China. But guess what? Those chips are like the fourth best chips. And President Trump is mandating that their capacity is degraded by about 50%. So not only are they getting old chips because Huawei is not capable of producing chips like amd, they're getting old chips and they're getting degraded chips. The goal is to addict China to subpar chips. Why that's important. Huawei can't make chips as good as even the fourth generation chips from amd. And it also ensures that American tech companies and AI companies are going to have an advantage and they're grateful for it. Play cut 452 this is Sam Altman. We're very grateful to be able to.
Andrew Colvett
Build our company here, to build data.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Centers here, to build the entire AI industry and lead the world in the United States. Echoing many other people's comments.
Andrew Colvett
I think this will transform the world.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
In a profound way and I think.
Joe Edlow
It really will be the United States.
Andrew Colvett
Advantage to be able to lead the world this way.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
The event that the first lady hosted.
Andrew Colvett
Today about education was really wonderful and.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Watching what AI is doing even today for education and so many other industries is really great.
Joe Edlow
So thank you so much for enabling this.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
We will invest a ton in the United States States and we will do our best to make sure that we continue to lead here. Invest a ton in the United States. He wasn't the only one saying that. Here's Apple's Tim Cook. Tim Apple as many call him 453.
Andrew Colvett
Such that we could make a major investment in the United States and have.
Charlie Kirk
Some key manufacturing, advanced manufacturing here.
Andrew Colvett
I think that says a lot about your focus and your leadership and your focus on innovation. I also want to thank you for.
Charlie Kirk
Helping American companies around the world.
Andrew Colvett
This is a very key, key thing and I really enjoy working with your administration on, on those topics as well because I think they're so important to the country. How much money will you be investing? 600 billion.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
600 billion.
Andrew Colvett
We're very proud to do it. That's great. Thank you very much. Appreciate you sir.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Boom. 600 billion. And the Kevin Hassett from the admin this morning was out on CNBC saying that we have record capex expenditures. So capital expenditures in the country up over 8% which is a record. There is so much good economic news that is just at the very tip of getting started. It's just starting. If you think about those dominoes that meme where the dominoes can get bigger piece after piece the dominoes will start to fall and we have very low inflation. Partly that is because energy prices are so down there's so much supply on the market, energy prices are going down, oil stocks are down. And that's good news for the consumers. That's good news for the entire economy. Which oil is one of those expenses that filters through so much to get to? Gosh, guys, these, these segments go so fast. We're going to welcome William J. Kelly. We've got an update from Chicago. Great reporter. Don't go anywhere.
Aaron Sabarium
And jumps when you hear the national Debt is over $37 trillion. Thanks for being here with us. The latest jobs report is out and unemployment is up slightly. A look inside the number shows 22,000 jobs were added to the economy last month, which is way down from the 79,000 jobs that were forecast. While unemployment is now up to 4.3%, it's still at a historically low level. And outside the White House, President Trump's top secretaries and advisers were asked about the report.
Andrew Colvett
All the indicators that we're seeing are that inflation is low and economic growth is solid, income growth solid as well. So that the only part of the data that's disappointing is that the jobs numbers have been a little bit lower over the last three or four months. The unemployment rates have ticked up a little bit but, you know, right now we're highly confident with the trends that data board workers are replacing the illegal workers that are either now not new, coming to the country or going back to their homes.
Aaron Sabarium
Also happening at the White House today, President Trump set to sign another executive order. We'll have more on that throughout the day here on Real America's Voice.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
The.

All right.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Welcome back to the Charlie Kirk Show. Andrew Colvett, executive producer of this fine show, in for you here@the bitcoin.com mobile studio, your place to buy, sell, trade, manage your bitcoin all in one place. I want to tell you about Hillsdale College, history, economics, the great works of literature. Did you study these things in school? I studied some of them. I did not study all of them. I had a pretty good school, but we missed some of these. Hillsdale College is offering more than 40 free online courses, including their newest course on totalitarian novels. In this free eight lecture course, you'll learn from Hillsdale College President Larry Arn the goat as he goes in depth on four novels. 1984, Brave New World, Darkness at Noon, and that Hideous Strength. Even though these novels were written in the 1930s and 40s, they are more important today probably than they've ever been. They expose the tyrannical nature of human nature and more importantly, they can show us that faith, family and friends and country are worth fighting for. Maybe you read these books a long time ago in school. Maybe you've heard others talk about them and they seem a little intimidating. Let Hillsdale College help and you will get the most out of them if you do it this way. So go to charlieforhillsdale.com c h a r l I e4hillsdale.com to enroll. There's no cost. It's easy to get started. And they have so many courses there. It's gonna, it's gonna blow your mind. These are some really, really valuable things. I wish everybody in America was mandated to take Hillsdale online courses. It would be a better country. Charlie for hillsdale.com with me now is a friend from Chicago and a great intrepid reporter who's keeping that city's politicians honest. And of course, I'm talking about William J. Kelly, reporter William J. Kelly. Sir, welcome to the show. You are at a critical, critical place in this country for. So it feels like all roads lead to Chicago right now, which is kind of why the city started in the first place. So maybe it's apropos. Give us the Latest on the ground, it seems like you're seeing a division where you've got some high level people on a national level like Scarborough. We'll play that clip. David Axelrod, you have people calling on the city to cooperate, but the city's officials and political leaders are digging their heels in. The floor is yours, William J. Kelly.
William J. Kelly
Well, God bless you, Andrew, and thank you for having me.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
You're right.
William J. Kelly
I mean, I've always felt that Chicago is kind of ground zero all the way back to when I tried to warn some people about my state senator, Barack Obama, you know, and laughed. Oh boy, I can still hear the laughter. But, but yeah, I mean, whether it's Barack Obama, Rahm Emanuel, you know, and just so you know, J.B. pritzker, Governor Pritzker has presidential ambitions. And everything that he's doing right now, the only possible explanation for it is that he thinks it's going to get him the White House. So that because there's no other I mean there's no, he's a very smart man. Make no mistake about it. He's a billionaire. And there's no but there's no logical explanation for why you would have a safety act, for example, this is his signature legislation that allows the most violent criminals out on no cash bail, repeated violent offenders.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Yeah, I have to give you some due here. William J. Kelly. And that is reporter williamjkelly.com check him out. This is a clip from you trying to get answers about some of these very dangerous illegals that he seems to not care about that are being released to harass, maim, kill, murder, molest young kids. I mean, so many of these stories, it's just terrible. Let's go ahead and play cut. 450 ICE agents that are on the way.
Andrew Colvett
And again, many of the people who are coming seem to be coming from Los Angeles and having been part of that raid. So if you want to look at what it is that they're planning to do, you could just look at what they did in Los Angeles. Megaphones, microphones, go to the ballot box. Those are all the things that I sent. And let's be clear. And to the extent that people want to protest, they have that First Amendment right to do so.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
All I'm saying, as I said back.
Andrew Colvett
Then, is that you ought to do it peacefully and that you ought to make your voices heard.
William J. Kelly
Governor Pritzker, a very important question regarding the illegal alien Jose Luis Mendoza Gonzalez that was released under your.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Just walks away. I mean, these guys. So obviously he wants to run for President, he's using this standoff with President Trump as a way to increase his name id, increase him being viewed as the fighter in his party that they are so desperate to find. And yet it's pure callousness because he's hurting the people of Chicago and the people of Illinois in order to benefit himself politically, which I think is going to backfire, mind you. But nevertheless, I want the audience to fully inter. He will not answer your question about Jose Luis Mendoza Gonzalez. Who is this man and why did you ask about him?
William J. Kelly
Well, one of many. He's an illegal alien. He is charged with concealing and abusing the corpse of a, an Illinois mother of two.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
God.
William J. Kelly
Yeah, and, and he's still under investigation for a variety of other things. But, but here's the thing. Under Pritzker Safety Act, Jose Luis Mendoza Gonzalez, if that's even his real name, nobody, how would we even know. Right. Has been released. So I mean, and this is just one of many, you know, if you are a human being, I mean, I'm not talking about if you've been elected to protect, which I think is the number one responsibility of all elected officials to provide safety first for citizens. Right. But if you've been elected to do it, if you've been charged with doing that, if you've been hired to do that, you would think that that would be the number one priority.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Right.
William J. Kelly
The only, you know, and then, you know, whatever else, you know, clean streets or something would be like a distant second. Right. But, but it seems like with our elected officials and of course Mayor Johnson in Chicago, that this is the least of their interests, you know, from the lockdown and the looting, of the race riots that Chicago still hasn't recovered from, by the way. And then of course, the big migrant crisis of the last year. Bankrupted.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Exactly. Well, and there is 500,000 illegals in Chicago, is that correct? At least estimated.
William J. Kelly
Who knows? Nobody knows. You know, we will find out when they vote.
Aaron Sabarium
Right.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
That's an extraordinarily high number of illegal immigrants to be in one city. I mean, when you think about the congestion, when you think about the housing pressure, this pressure on schools, I mean, it's just an incredible burden to place on any taxpaying base, let alone Chicago, which is losing native born citizens at an alarming clip. This is what I also find interesting though, and I think this is why it's a winning political issue for President Trump. I mean, crime is like a 9010 issue. It's actually about a 99 to 1 issue, according to some Polls, people think it's either a serious problem in urban centers or at least somewhat of a problem. That's 99% recent poll came out. But here's what's interesting. Top national Democrats like David Axelrod and Joe Scarborough are beginning to break with the Illinois politicians. Let's go ahead and play cup 4 22. This is David Axelrod.
Andrew Colvett
I would be careful about playing 28 politics on this issue because the right answer is we'll take all the help we can get as long as it's appropriate help, as long as it's stuff that will really help. I mean, these National Guardsmen aren't even trained to do that work. They're not authorized to do that work. So, you know, send us the resources that we need. We want to work with you. If there are criminal, if there are people doing violent crimes here who are illegal immigrants, we want them out of our city. We'll work with you on that. I think that's the appropriate position to take.
Charlie Kirk
Fair enough.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Wow. Shocking, shocking stuff from CNN. But he's not alone. MSNBC gets into it. Play cut 446.
Aaron Sabarium
You know, I actually think that JB Pritzker should do something radical.
Andrew Colvett
I think he should pick up the.
Aaron Sabarium
Phone, call the president and say, let's partner up. These are the most dangerous parts of my state. We would love to, to figure out how to have a partnership that's constitutional, that respects the sort of balance of federalism between the federal government and the.
Andrew Colvett
State government, and let's work together to save lives.
Aaron Sabarium
Because right now just, hey, nothing to see here.
Andrew Colvett
Moving along.
Aaron Sabarium
No problem here. Hey, Donald Trump, we don't need you. And you know the mayor talking about, we're going to protect people's dignity in our city, will protect their lives. That's protecting their dignity.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Wow. William J. Kelly, Does Chicago need federal help?
William J. Kelly
Well, they needed it for the dnc, if you recall. You were in town. I remember, yeah. They had the, the Democrat National Convention in Chicago and they had no trouble using the National Guard to protect their donors. Andrew, do you remember they had no trouble using the National Guard as, as their, as their valets for their, for their VIP donors, but personal security. But as you know, the weekend violence continued in Chicago with, you know, 20, 30, 40, 50 in some cases, you know, there. I remember weekends with 80 people shot. You know, I mean, this is, this is beyond third world. You know, you'd be safer in, you know, name. Pick a country. Haiti, Somalia, I don't know. You pick a country. You know, every weekend, the number of people shot and murdered, not to mention assaulted. We have cases, repeat offenders who are arrested, let out of jail, and then they immediately go right back.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Well, this is.
William J. Kelly
Right, a woman in the face.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Yeah. I mean, that was a viral story this week, and it's terrible. But, but you're, you're, you're zeroing in on something really important. I want the audience to fully absorb this. Most of the violent crime in this country, even most of the petty crime for that matter, is done by a very small percentage of the population that is continually like a revolving door, released back onto the streets to maim, hurt, kill, and murder and rape. Okay? And this small group could be permanently locked up. And you would see crime fall like a rock. You would see it plummet. Why is, why do Democrats in the city of Chicago seem to love crime so much? William J. Kelly, about 30 seconds.
William J. Kelly
Well, the really sad fact of the matter is that that small group is growing because a lot of the illegals are now strangling women in the street, just on the sidewalk in the middle.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
But William, I was told that illegal immigrants commit less crime than Americans.
William J. Kelly
Well, you know, maybe that's because they're not being charged and convicted. So, of course, you know, statistics are funny things, right, Andrew?
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Mm, yeah, absolutely. William J. Kelly, you are at a really important time in a really important city at a confluence of really powerful forces. Please keep covering it, Tell people where they can follow your work.
William J. Kelly
The floor is yours, reporter William J. Kelly dot com. Believe it or not, I have a legal defense fund. Go fund me on that page. I've literally been threatened by the mayor's office to have my credential, my media credential revoked. I've had this happen before under Lightfoot. Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Turn it back up and gut I do not care what the others say Listen, I told you that I did.
Aaron Sabarium
Not come to play we about to.

December 18th to 21st in Phoenix, Arizona. The movement meets here. All right. Welcome back to the Charlie Kirk Show. Final segment of hour one. Never fear, Charlie is going to be back in hour two. It's part two of his interview with Free Beacon reporter Aaron Sabarium. That's a fantastic conversation. I watched it when it happened live, and it was. It's just really, really compelling stuff. Went to Yale, got sort of radicalized by our Ivy Leagues, which is, of course, you know, typical. Typical. It's actually, I wish it was more typical because the Ivy Leagues will radicalize you if you have half a brain, because those people are completely. They've lost the plot. They've lost the plot. I want to bring up a story speaking of losing the plot. And we started the whole hour with immigration. Fantastic conversation. If you didn't get it, please get the podcast with the guy that's responsible for issuing all our visas and green cards and citizenship in the country. But there's a new piece of news that just broke this morning and it goes like this. President Trump is considering a proposal to block US IT companies from outsourcing their work to Indian companies. A move that could, quote unquote, wreck Indian I T sector and cost millions of jobs. Now let me explain why I love this. This is part of restoring the compact that the American government should have with the American citizen. We have outsourced our jobs overseas. We've outsourced our car manufacturing facilities, we've outsourced the ability to make vitamin C to China. Anything where you make something has been outsourced. But guess what? It wasn't just making hard things that has been outsourced. It's been services. It's been tech services, it's been white collar jobs that are getting outsourced. And why? Because companies that are making billions and billions of dollars that have market caps in trillions have decided that it's worth more compliant labor. It's, it costs them less, they're going to make a few extra bucks. Just a few marginal difference rate of return to ship your job overseas. Now let's remember what's actually going on. And I'm a free market guy, but within reason and regulations can be powerful and they can be effective. Tariffs can be powerful and effective when properly utilized. But if you are a company that is benefiting from the United States, our unparalleled capital markets, our rule of law, equal protection under that law, stability, a talented workforce, innovation, a history of pioneering, not only the west, but technology, landing on the moon, all of these things. If you are going to be a company that benefits by being birthed and seeded out of this country, then you have a moral obligation as one of the elites, one of the moneyed gentry class to reinvest your wealth, your success in the human capital of this country. And if you choose not to tariff, we are going to make it so expensive on you. If you are a company that's trying to make a literally like marginal more money out of this so that we can talk to a tech worker in India, if that is your company, you have a moral obligation like those in the Gilded Age that reinvested their great wealth that they accumulated off the backs of this country, off the backs of the labor class. If that is you, you have a responsibility to reinvest in this country. I love This. I love this so much. And while we're at it, it is time to reform and possibly abolish the H1B visa scam. There's about 400,000 visas that are given out as part of the H1B scam every year. And 75% of those are consumed by one country, and that's India. Now, God bless them. A lot of them are great workers, they're kind people. But what we are seeing in towns like Frisco, Texas. I was just in Frisco. You go to the mall there and it's all Indians. That is a city that has been completely demographically changed overnight. And why H1B tech workers? They're not always, you know, people that are better at the job than Americans, but they're more compliant. They'll work for free or, well, close. They'll work for less. And all they want is to be able to come over here because India has got billions of people. It's a crazy place. You can get ahead here more. I understand why they want to come, but I understand why the base, why the Trump voter wants to protect American jobs. We do not want American workers having to train their replacements that come from India on an H1B. So all of this is very, very good. And I'm telling you, the the elephant in the room is not illegal immigration. We're getting our handle on that. We got to get our deportations up, certainly. And self deportations are going strong. What we got to do is we got to fix legal immigration in this country. That's why I'm so glad to have that first conversation at the top of the show. So go back and watch it. Hour two with Charlie, Part two of his conversation with Aaron Sabarium. Don't miss it.
Aaron Sabarium

Terrence Bates here with your Real America's Voice. News break Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Faces a fiery and contentious hearing before the Senate Finance Committee. While answering some tough questions from both Democrats and Republicans on the panel, many of the interactions devolved into some pretty combativeness between the secretary and the Democrat senators in particular.
Andrew Colvett
Everybody is corrupt but you. Is that what we're looking at? I don't think so. And I think the issue. I don't even know what you're talking about.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Well, I think you do know what I'm talking about.
Andrew Colvett
I don't know what you're talking about. The issue is every time anyone agrees with you. Are you saying the pharmaceutical industry was supporting my presidential campaign? No, I'm saying no.
Aaron Sabarium
RFK Jr. Was specifically called to task over his moves to limit vaccine access and research. He was also criticized for the recent firing of the director of the Centers for Disease control Prevention, the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia teaming up with the city's Democrat mayor, Muriel Bowser just a little while ago to take a bit of a victory lap. The two held a news conference to report the arrest of two 17 year olds who were accused in the shooting death of 21 year old Eric Jackham. The UMass Amherst student was interning in the nation's capital on June 30 when he was killed. Investigators say he was an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire as at least 6, 79 rounds were fired.
Andrew Colvett
Why?
Charlie Kirk
The President has vowed to make D.C. safe and beautiful. This is why the nation's President the President is bringing together federal and local agencies to bring the force of the.
Andrew Colvett
Government against those who seek to destroy not only our quality of life, but our lives.
Aaron Sabarium
A third suspect is still being sought in the case. The two teenagers who are in custody are charged as adults. Today's news conference comes on the heels of DC's Attorney General filing suit on Thursday to end the Trump administration's deployment of National Guard troops in the nation's capital. The AG calls it an unlawful occupation. Over at the White House, President Trump set to sign an executive order today, the EO Will reportedly be to rename the Department of Defense the Department of War. As such, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth would also be able to use the title Secretary of War in official correspondence and public communication. Changing the name of a government department is rare, and it generally requires congressional approval. By the way, the Department of Defense was named the war Department until 1949, when Congress consolidated the Army, Navy and Air Force following World War II. The move comes as President Trump seeks to end several wars and conflicts across the globe. Following today's executive order signing, the commander in Chief also has an announcement scheduled. We're still working to find out what that announcement might entail. Happening today, Texas Governor Greg Abbott will sign several bills aimed at preventing tragedies similar to the deadly flooding that killed 27 campers and counselors at Camp mystic back in July. Some of the parents and family members of the girls who died that day will join the governor for today's signing ceremony. In all, 136 people were killed in the flooding. The new measures will improve the safety of children's camps across Texas by prohibiting cabins from being in dangerous parts of flood zones. Camp operators will also be required to develop emergency plans. That's a quick check of your headlines.
Andrew Colvett
Okay, another huge thank you to Andrew for hosting yesterday and today while I travel. I'm back with the second half of our interview with Aaron Saberium, investigative journalist for the last hour of the show this week. The full interviews on the podcast already, but in the second half we continue discussing some of his biggest stories and the most shocking things he's uncovered.
Charlie Kirk
Some of the pushback I got on the piece about racial preferences was, you don't understand. They made these changes to their curriculum and they had a little less time in class, so maybe that's why the performance went down. But it's not about the racial preferences, okay? It's about the curriculum. Well, what did they do to the curriculum? They took time away from the hard sciences to teach them sort of progressive pseudoscience, literally, like mysticism. Not a good defense. They shouldn't have done that either.
Andrew Colvett
Again, we can make fun of it. We should. God forbid someone's going to die because of this. And people die all the time under general anesthesia. Again, anesthesiology 1 is someone who's gone under anesthesiology a couple times like it's no joke. In the anesthesiology department, where Lucero or Lucero helps rank applicants to the department's residency program. She's Rebuffed calls to blind the race of candidates. Telling colleagues in January 2020 email that despite California's ban on racial preferences, quote, we are not required to blind any information. So this is a great case for Harmeet Dhillon to come swooping in from the U.S. office of Civil Rights, right?
Charlie Kirk
Yes. And I believe they're already looking into it. Yeah, I think it's HHS's Office of Civil Rights that's looking into it, but HHS has opened an investigation and there was also a lawsuit from Students for Fair Admissions and that's the same group that did the Harvard lawsuit.
Andrew Colvett
She said here, you're right. Knocked down a white person and said, quote, white male may be knocked down several spots because, quote, we have too many of his kind.
Charlie Kirk
Right. Not. Not a. Not a comment. Right? Not.
Andrew Colvett
It's not Charlie Kirk.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
No.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah, not. It's not a comment you could imagine being said about any other group, nor.
Andrew Colvett
Should it be said about anything.
Charlie Kirk
No, of course, of course, of course.
Andrew Colvett
She told doctors. Who is this person again? I gotta reread this.
Charlie Kirk
She's the head of admissions at the medical school.
Andrew Colvett
Delightful.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah.
Andrew Colvett
Is she still there?
Charlie Kirk
Yeah, I believe so.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Yeah.
Andrew Colvett
Yeah. Oh, nice. She told doctors who voiced concern that they had no right to be had an opinion because they were not bipoc for people listening on radio or podcasting. That is not a Star wars character. What is bipoc?
Charlie Kirk
Stands for black, indigenous and other people.
Andrew Colvett
People of color.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah, yeah.
Andrew Colvett
So you, let's say you're a 45 year old. You know, for 45 year old, you've been there 45 years as a doctor, award winning, saved lives. You don't have an opinion because you might be a white man. That's according to the admissions, the admissions director.
Charlie Kirk
That is what she's saying.
Andrew Colvett
Yeah. Honestly, this is like real life horrifying if people have to get medical care. In the UCLA system, the focus on racial diversity has coincided with dramatic shift in racial and ethnic composition in medical school, where the number of Asian matriculants fell by almost a third by 2019. 2022, according to public available data. No other elite medical school in California saw a similar decline.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah, I think that's true there. Maybe there was one that, you know, saw something kind of close. But I think, I think most of the, I think it was really, when I double checked the data, it was quite noticeable how much ucla.
Andrew Colvett
So like, I mean, look, I need to just voice this. If we're also afraid of being called a racist, is it conceivable that Just a. Again, this says a third to half of the medical school. This is a professor that told you is incredibly unqualified. Is it possible that just a super unqualified doctor is slipping through the cracks? That's like a black woman. And eventually she's going to have to make lifesaving decisions. Yeah, that's where we're heading. Like, we're all afraid to say anything because she might report you to the.
Charlie Kirk
I mean, look, and the way. And I would say, too, you know, the way also to avoid having. If there's a qualified black female doctor, the way to avoid people questioning her qualifications and the way to avoid sort of placing her under this constant cloud of suspicion is to stop doing racial preferences that sort of rationalize the suspicion. Right. Like, I mean, you know, I feel bad for anyone who gets into UCLA who really is very good.
Andrew Colvett
Totally agree.
Charlie Kirk
You know, gets. Everyone's always looking at that. Right.
Andrew Colvett
I mean, if you're a super qualified blackout now people are going to wonder, and that's not right. So now, going to the other coast, you, my friend, have been like a ninja towards Harvard, and I love it. So let's start with this one, because this one's a little bit more. It's older, I think. Yeah, I am.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Right.
Andrew Colvett
Harvard President Claudine Gay hit with six new charges of plagiarism. So you were one of the ones that took down Claudine Gay, in addition to Elise Stefanik and her wonderful performance. How does a Harvard University president plagiarize herself to the top?
Charlie Kirk
Yeah, I mean, so look, what she did was clearly covered by Harvard's plagiarism policies, which were written in a very exacting way, I think. I don't know, you know, what you were told growing up, but I always had sort of the fear of God put into me when it came to plagiarism. Oh, 100% in high school and then. And then in college, they really would say just, you know, if it's more than a few words, right. That, you know, even if it's not verbatim, but it's paraphrased, that could be plagiarism. And that's a very serious offense. And so I would in college, read over my papers and think, is it plagiarized? You know, I have to make sure I'm changing enough of the language. I have to be sure I'm putting it in my own words, everything cited. And look, of all the plagiarism scandals there have been, hers was not the worst, but she was probably in the, not the worst in terms of the severity of the plagiarism, but it was plagiarism. It did violate Harvard's policies. And she was the president of Harvard University. Right. And so subject, I think, presumably to kind of the highest possible standard for academic integrity.
Andrew Colvett
And she, she oversaw an institution that then you have internal documents reveal pervasive. Because she's gone now. Reversal reveal pervasive pattern of racial discrimination at Harvard Law Review.
Charlie Kirk
Yes.
Andrew Colvett
What's going on here?
Charlie Kirk
Yeah, so some of the discrimination is in the selection of editors for the Law Review, but the lion's share of it is in the selection of articles.
Andrew Colvett
Which is important, right.
Charlie Kirk
I mean, those are, you know, the Harvard Law Review is influential. It matters who's published there. The Law Review articles really do shape the state of the law to some extent. Right. You know, how important legal academia is can be debated. But to the extent it matters, this is a pretty powerful journal, right. It matters what they publish. And they are not selecting articles just based on merit or subject matter diversity, but explicitly based on both the author's race and in many cases the race of the authors cited in the footnotes.
Andrew Colvett
No.
Charlie Kirk
Yes. And that was in fact part of their rubric for evaluating.
Andrew Colvett
To get published in the Harvard Law Review, you have to have like half.
Charlie Kirk
Of your authors be basically, Basically there's this initial.
Andrew Colvett
That's, that's how.
Charlie Kirk
Well, and so here's the thing, right? And this, this often is the case with any kind of regime of racial preferences. It doesn't just happen at one kind of stage of decision making. It happens at every stage. There's an initial kind of screen out process where they're told to consider author diversity. And that process, which is done by just a few editors, weeds out like 80% of submissions. And then there, then everything that remains is subject to this additional screen where the, you know, some editor reads it and kind of writes a short memo. And there's a, there's a template that they're supposed to fill out about the pros and cons of each article. And one of the things they are supposed to look at, or at least they were as of a year ago, was the racial diversity of the sources cited. Racial, gender, all kinds of diversity.
Andrew Colvett
What, what if you have a really good citation from a white man? You're not, you're at your quota.
Charlie Kirk
That. Yeah, I mean, they literally, they would literally say things like. They would literally say things like, I'm very, you know, I'm disappointed that the piece didn't have much diversity in terms of its sources cited that was a real negative and they would give it a poor recommendation based in part on that lack of diversity. I mean, you can, we published over 2,300 pages of documents of these internal memos. So people can judge for themselves and you can just see what they said. And in, in some cases it's kind of an afterthought or they don't really take it into account. But there are quite a few cases where the editors explicitly penalize pieces for the diversity of the citations.
Andrew Colvett
How did you find out about this one?
Charlie Kirk
You know, I got a tip from someone who shall remain nameless that it was going on at the Harvard Law Review and then started doing some digging and managed to get my hands on a lot of these documents. One thing I generally like to do in my reporting is to publish as many primary source documents as possible because often, right. The immediate response is, oh, you're making it up or you're exaggerating. And I just. Look, you can, you can look at the entire tranche of documents, right? You know, you, you judge for yourself.

We're back. Email me your thoughts. Freedom. Charliekirk.com Let me know your thoughts on this interview and some of your biggest stories of some of these biggest stories. And subscribe to the Charlie Kirk show podcast. That is the Charlie Kirk show podcast page. And so the Harvard Law Review is an independent nonprofit and legally distinct from the university. It operates out of a Harvard building. It's tended by Harvard janitors and employs only Harvard students and editors. It's also advised by administrators, professors at Harvard Law School, including the Dean, and some student editors are on federal financial aid. And so someone is planning to sue over this, is that right?
Charlie Kirk
Yes. So Jonathan Mitchell, who's the former Solicitor General of Texas, Bad guy to tick off. Yeah, he's planning to sue. But they're also now under three different federal investigations by the Department of Education, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Justice Department. And obviously, the deal that the administration is trying to reach with Harvard could resolve those investigations. We'll see. I mean, I. But until that deal happens, at least you know they are under multiple federal probes.
Andrew Colvett
Yeah. So what is your instinct? Do you think this is just the tip of the iceberg at some of these elite schools? I mean, there's so much worse stuff that's going on that we don't know about.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah, I generally think that's right. Now, again, some of them are probably trying to course Correct. A little bit. Just because they're so scared of Trump. But I think that, I don't think this is particularly aberrational. How much of it is put in writing may vary depending on the institution. But again, like I said earlier, there's, there's red states, state schools. You can find tons of this stuff in kind of every, in every part of university decision making.
Andrew Colvett
Your reporting so good. I mean, this, you got a Slack message in here that's like, that's the best. Because that's really a window.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah.
Andrew Colvett
This is so good. Four out of five people raised in this message, so, message. I'm guessing this is a communique.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah, they're. They're debating who to publish. Okay. Like a forum or something.
Andrew Colvett
Four out of five people raised in this message are white men, which I find concerning. One editor wrote in Slack. This is an editor of the Law Review. What. Before I go any further, what does it take to become an editor of the Law Review?
Charlie Kirk
Well, a few people get on just through the strength of their grades or this kind of competition. They do, right. If they're really, really strong students, writers. Most people are chosen through the. Or about half of them are chosen through this sort of holistic review process that takes into account their grades, this kind of writing competition, and then also their personal statement and kind of DEI.
Andrew Colvett
Factors says, quote, having read the article pretty thoroughly, I think a huge missing piece was that of how race fits into policing and misconduct.
Charlie Kirk
Right.
Andrew Colvett
Keep going.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah. Well, this is another important point, which is that they don't just screen the articles based on the race of the author or even the race of the sources cited. They also look at just. Does the article talk enough about race and gender? So my favorite one actually is they. This is in another article I wrote about this. They nixed, I think, an article that was a feminist analysis of antitrust law. That sounds as woke as it can get. Right? Feminist analysis of antitrust law. Why did they nix it? Well, because it advanced a binaristic conception of gender and didn't talk enough about the experiences of trans and non binary people. And they put this in writing. Right. I mean, and it's just.
Andrew Colvett
Of antitrust law.
Charlie Kirk
Yes. And it's. And so this is just. Yeah, you can't make it up.
Andrew Colvett
This is a fall of civilization, by the way. Why should we even take seriously a feminist analysis of antitrust law? How about this analysis of antitrust law? It doesn't matter.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah. I mean, feminist analysis of antitrust law is almost going to be like the conservative position in 10 years. You know, I was going to say.
Andrew Colvett
Yeah, well said. In a separate exchange, an editor implied that a piece should be subject to expedited review because the author was a minority. This person of color author, the editor wrote in Slack, adding that the scholar had already had a publication offer from Northwestern. We should send for review tonight if we want to move on this. So you get elevated and fast tracked if you're a person of color.
Charlie Kirk
Yes. And in fact, in some of these memos they explicitly say recommend publishing scholars because they say by being published in the Harvard Law Review they will advance their career. So they basically say we should publish so and so because by doing so we will advance the career of a young scholar of color. That's part of their calculus when deciding who to publish.
Andrew Colvett
I mean, it's just, it's remarkable. And the Law Review. Right. Has also adopted several policies, while not racially discriminatory, seem designed to ensure editors toe the party line. One resolution passed in 2023 called for, quote, indigenous inclusive citation practices. You mentioned this. So just so we're clear, I don't know what that means. Indigenous inclusive citation practices. So we need like more Iroquois Indians or something.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah. To be fair to them, I think it has something to do with how you cite cases involving tribal law or native tribes. I mean, you know, there might be something legitimate there, but they obviously package it in the most.
Andrew Colvett
Well, they've lost all credibility.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah, I know, but you might be wrong. I'm not inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt.
Andrew Colvett
I don't think they have the benefit of death.
Aaron Sabarium
Welcome back to this Real America's Voice news break. I'm Terrence Bates. The U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia is teaming up with the city's Democrat Mayor, Muriel Bowser. All of this happened just a little while ago. The two got together to take a bit of a victory lap. They held a news conference to report the arrest of two 17 year olds accused in the shooting death of 21 year old Eric Jackson. The UMass Amherst student was interning in the nation's capital back on June 30th. Investigators say he was an innocent bystander who was caught in the crossfire as at least 79 rounds were fired. Well, a third suspect is still being sought in this case. The two teenagers who are in custody are charged as adults. Today's news conference comes on the heels of DC's Attorney General filing suit on Thursday to end the Trump administration's deployment of National Guard troops in the nation's capital. The AG calls it an unlawful occupation. The latest jobs report is out and unemployment is up slightly. A look inside the numbers shows that 22,000 jobs were added to the economy last month, which is way down from the 79,000 jobs that were forecast. And while unemployment is now up to 4.3%, it's still at a historically low level. Outside the White House, President Trump's top secretaries and advisers asked about that report.
Andrew Colvett
All the indicators that we're seeing are that inflation is low and economic growth is solid, income growth solid as well. So that the only part of the data that's disappointing is that the jobs numbers have been a little bit lower over the last three or four months. The unemployment rates have ticked up a little bit. But, you know, right now we're highly confident with the trends that data board workers are replacing the illegal workers that are either now not new, coming to the country or going back to their homes.
Aaron Sabarium
Also happening at the White House today, President Trump set to sign another executive order. This EO will reportedly be to rename the Department of Defense the Department of War. As such, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth would also be able to use the title Secretary of War in official correspondence. Excuse me. As well as public communication. Changing the name of a government agency, by the way, is rare and it generally requires congressional approval. That's a quick check of your headlines.
Joe Edlow
Author of the MAGA Doctrine and president of Turning Point usa, here's Charlie Kirk.
Andrew Colvett
I want to tell you guys about Patriot Mobile before we get back to this interview. That's patriotmobile.com Charlie. I know there are many choices when it comes to who you choose for cell phone service, and there are new ones popping up all the time. But the truth is there's only one that boldly stands in the gap for every American that believes that freedom is worth fighting for, and that is Patriot Mobile. Patriot Mobile is one of the only carriers with access to all three major U.S. networks. They offer unlimited data plans, mobile hotspots, international roaming, Internet backup, and so much more. Switching is easier than ever. Activate in minutes from the comfort of your home. Keep your number, keep your phone or upgrade. It's time to make the switch today@patriotmobile.com Charlie or call 972 Patriot and use promo code Charlie for a free month of service. That is patriotmobile.com charlie. That is patriotmobile.com Charlie. So I want to close with some time, and we have a little bit of time here because we're talking about the universities, talking about your reporting, and President Trump is certainly clamping down on them. And a lot of the activity happening on campuses that gets the headlines is this Jew hate stuff, the anti Israel stuff. And there's been a debate on the right of what should we do to respond to this campus activity. And it's quite split. It's all over the map, as you know. I resolutely reject all this Jew hate stuff. And I want to talk about that, you know, But I think actually more interestingly, let's make this a starting point. There are some, not all. There are some in the Jewish community of whom I respect them greatly, but I fundamentally disagree. They say now is the time for a Jewish civil rights where we need kind of a new DEI style regime. People like Jonathan Greenblatt, who I don't love, obviously, or respect, he's kind of come out and said something similar. What are you thinking about this while balancing the disturbing rise of anti Semitism with constitutionally protected speech.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah, I don't think it makes any sense to try to add Jews to the list to kind of bring Jews under dei's protective umbrella. I think that's gonna backfire for lots of reasons. I mean, one is just DEI's. The worldview is bad on the merits and should be rejected. Right. And we don't want to reinforce its premises. You know, I also think there frankly, is a dynamic where, especially for people on the right, it's very important, I think, to be consistent about this stuff. And when you're not and you're hypocritical, people see the hypocrisy. And while I don't think that the hypocrisy is like the main. It's not why antisemitism is rising, but does not help. It's not helping. I guess I would say, no, it does not help. You're right. And you know, look, the other thing I would say too is just this is not. This is not effective. I mean, this is not how you get rid of the problem. The way you get rid of the problem is by admitting students who actually want to study and are not scholar activists who are going to go out and take over public spaces and violate laws. Right. Instead of just going to class. I mean, it's really an admissions problem.
Andrew Colvett
It is. And it's an Islamist problem. So the. Some people are saying though, that, hey, we need to. Some people in the government have alluded to this. Not President Trump, but we need to make anti Semitism, like, illegal, basically. And I'm paraphrasing, but you've seen that kind of.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah, so that's not. Well, first of all, you can't make ideologies illegal under the First Amendment. But let me. Here's the other comeback to this. So I just reported this today. We're recording in late August. Right. So Columbia Law School just did this diversity training.
Andrew Colvett
Yeah, tell us all about it.
Charlie Kirk
Right, and the diversity training was organized around a single vignette about antisemitism. It was something silly where, like, someone complains that it's hard to schedule events around the Jewish holidays in the fall, and that's seen framed as an example of maybe. Maybe not even anti Semitism, but insensitivity. And they spend all this time talking about it. Okay, you know what? I don't think it's kind of a silly. Yeah, it's not really. It's not. It's not. It's also, for one, it's. It's not the kind of thing that actually upset Jewish students. Right. What upset students at Columbia was calls to kill them, which actually happened river to the sea. Well, I mean, you know, Zionists deserve to die. Right. That's what actually was at issue. Not, you know, someone being a little insensitive about whether organize an event, Yom Shapur or Sukkot. Right. That's not the problem. But then the other key thing to see is that this training was facilitated by a diversity consultant who has written all sorts of ridiculous things, including that she never. She even wrote a blog post, I think, saying that she doesn't ask if someone. If she sees a man attempting to go into the women's restroom, she won't stop him or ask questions because she doesn't want to inadvertently commit a microaggression. I mean, that's who Colombia decided to do tap for this training. During the training, she explicitly accuses President Trump of committing a microaggression when he complimented the president of Liberia on his English. She says that the terms crazy uncle and grandfathering can be offensive and up and coming lawyers should not say them. I mean, it has all the kind of hallmarks of a stupid, crazy DEI training. It's just that the vignette they chose was about anti Semitism. Right. So not only is it not addressing the real anti Semitism problem on Columbia's campus, it's also reinforcing the crazy DEI stuff that Trump, I think, has rightly been against. So, yeah, I. I think it is. There is a role for the federal government to play in fighting anti Semitism. You know, content neutral civil rights laws that just say that you can't, you know, Deny Jewish students access.
Andrew Colvett
Yeah, when you're trying to block classes.
Charlie Kirk
Right. Like that's, of course that's illegal, you.
Andrew Colvett
Know, pull the visas. I mean the whole thing is just.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah, there's all sorts of levers you can use. But you know, demanding additional anti Semitism training, I just, I think that's going to backfire. Look, also like, has anyone ever enjoyed sitting through one of these trainings? And does anyone ever come out of it thinking I'm so glad I had to do that? No, everyone hates the trainings so why add Jews to that? Right. Because then the Jews are more kind of proximate to the resentment. Just I think it is very short sighted.
Andrew Colvett
Why are we seeing a rise in Jew hate in this country.
Charlie Kirk
Again? Another thing we could talk for hours about, I think some of it is just the result of us getting more and more distance away from the Holocaust and this kind of basically philo Semitic consensus we had breaking down. I also think, and I'm not an expert on this, my understanding is that among evangelicals, I think there used to be this kind of pre millenarian like eschatology in which sort of this idea that like it was important to support Israel because the end of days was imminent. I should say I am Jewish, so I don't know, you just said it.
Andrew Colvett
Better than.
Charlie Kirk
I'm not an expert on this stuff.
Andrew Colvett
Pre trib, pre millennial theology.
Charlie Kirk
And I think a lot of people.
Andrew Colvett
State of Israel is fundamental to that.
Charlie Kirk
Right. And I think a lot of people, including frankly many progressive Jews sort of held their noses at that and sneered at it and thought, well that's you know, stupid weird theology. But you know, one of the benefits of that theology was that it meant that the predominantly Christian American right was very, yes, very pro Israel. And it's a good example of, you know, Chesterton's Fence, the idea that you don't always want to tear things down when you don't quite understand the function they're serving in society. Right. I think that you kind of got rid of that theology and it maybe opened the door to some not good stuff. And honestly, look, yeah, I mean obviously the war in Gaza has increased the salience of the issue. Obviously just the Internet allows all sorts of radical ideologies to spread. But yeah, you know, I have to say I struggle with this because I just fundamentally have always thought that like hardcore antisemitism is just so sort of irrational and not rooted in reality that I mean it rots the brain. Yeah. Trying to even you're trying to explain the thought process of, you know, the logic of something that is fundamentally irrational. I mean, it is not logical. So it can be hard in some ways to provide a rational explanation. But I will just say. I will also say, though I do not think the main cause, frankly, is college students at Columbia. I think they are more a symptom and a reflection than a cause. I think the cause is much deeper. Kind of demographic.
Andrew Colvett
Yeah. The Columbia problem is actually really simple. It's actually we've imported a bunch of Muslims students that hate Jews and have. Many of which hate the West. And then you couple that with a bunch of secular people that are looking for meaning and they look at everything through an oppressor, oppression, oppressed dynamic.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah. The assumption that Israelis are white and the Palestinians are brown.
Andrew Colvett
Correct.
Charlie Kirk
Which if you actually go to the region and look at people, it's like, totally not true. I was there last year and saw one of the darkest skinned.
Andrew Colvett
We'll go meet a Misra here.
Charlie Kirk
No, but you see even, like, Ethiopian Jews who have some of the darkest skin you've ever seen, who are wearing the full Orthodox garb in Jerusalem, like, it's an amazing country. Right. But just the whole racial imaginary that we project onto that region, it's totally wrong.
Andrew Colvett
Yeah. So what would you say are one or two of the biggest lies about what's happening right now? Again, we're taping this so we don't know things can change. But let's just say more broadly with Israel that you wish could be corrected, that are just falsehoods that are spread, that you kind of pound your table and you're like, I can't believe people believe this.
Charlie Kirk
I mean, the race thing is a big one in terms of the left. Right. That's a big issue on the left where they project this. They try to basically project American racial categories onto a region that just totally rejects them and resists them. I think on the right and on the left, people will just take. They'll take something crazy from Israel out of context, like something really bad that one person said and say, oh, you know, clearly Israel wants to do X, Y or Z. It's like, well, you know, if some obscure government minister says something nuts, right? Like, we don't. It's not fair to. Regardless of which party's in power. You know, it's not fair to conflate. Right. You know, one crazy person in, you know, an obscure government position with an entire political party or with the entire country, certainly. Right. I think that's a problem. The other thing I would Say too though is so much. And I think this is more the fault of the Americans who talk about it than it is Israelis. But to go back to the anti Semitism training, there's this impulse to say, well, anti Semitism, it's another ism. Frame Jews as victims and kind of add Jews to the list of victim categories. I just don't think that that's compelling.
Andrew Colvett
No.
Charlie Kirk
Right. And I think, I think it's self defeating. Yeah. And I think, and I think Israel is actually like a very cool country. And if they talked more about the coolness and the tech and the military. Right. You know, one reason I think you do see some of the anti Semitism percolating on the right in, in some cases is that, you know, if you think about how to reach like young men who are turning. Right.
Andrew Colvett (Guest Host)
Yes.
Andrew Colvett
Send to the Tel Aviv for a weekend.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah. Well, no, yeah, probably, probably would, would make a more pro Israel. But also. Right. You know, how not to reach them. You don't want to do this kind of hectoring school marm. Like you have to be, you're, you're a bigot for X, Y or Z. Just, just because people have been sort of trained understandably from all the dei to react with suspicion to any kind of accusation of bigotry. Again, there is real anti Semitism. It's a problem. But you know, when you lecture people, I just don't.
Andrew Colvett
Yeah. And I think some, and this is where I get some pushback. I was just debating the other day privately with a very nice woman who you would know, I'll tell you off camera. And she was insistent that you can't. If you are anti Israel, you're anti Semitic. And I said, well, what do you mean by anti Israel? And so. And she was getting to the place where like you must support the Netanyahu government, otherwise you're anti Semitic. I'm like, that's. You're going to lose people. Here's your reminder to watch this full interview. Members.charliekirk.com this week is super crazy because of all the travel that I'm doing. I'm in Asia, I'm all over the place. Therefore they should have human rights. No, he's a liar. You're a typical leftist because you only care about yourself, not about the other people. It's very clear. Clear by how you're acting. What can I do to save the country? You answer that question every single day. You are doing something that is bigger than you. A lot of people. How we doing?

Know, there's a lot of Jewish people, there's a lot of conservative American Jews who think the Netanyahu Government mishandled the war and would prefer like Naftali Bennett, who's actually to Netanyahu's. Right. So I mean, that's the other thing people don't. It's a very complicated situation. Right.
Andrew Colvett
I think there needs to be a little bit of allowance.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah. But like, here's another thing I would say I don't know how, I have no idea how they would do this, but one thing I've been doing since April is actually taking Krav Maga lessons. Krav Maga is the martial art of the Israeli Defense Forces. It's cool.
Andrew Colvett
I think every young Jew should learn it.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah. But also, just like young people, it's good exercise. You feel like a badass after you do one of the moves correctly. You're basically learning to be like a real life action hero who can actually defend yourself and your loved ones from an aggressor. And like, I would just think again, if you're trying to reach, you know, young men who are tired of being scolded and tired of human rhetoric. Right. Don't just, just talking too much about anti Semitism. Again, I'm not saying don't talk about it at all, but like, if you want to make people just think Israel's cool, like talk about Krav Maga, talk about like the badass stuff that comes out of Israel. Like I feel like a lot of young guys, if they see think Israel and they think, oh, cool fighting system that teaches us how to, you know, defend ourselves against criminals, it's like, okay, that's the kind of message that like a, you know, a young, like 18, 20 year old guy is going to like. Right?
Andrew Colvett
Yes. And the more they understand Islam, the better Israel looks too. They have no idea what Israel is up against. Right. Which is these Islamic barbarian monsters.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah.
Andrew Colvett
Which everyone, no one wants to say out loud. But so final thought on that though. How would you say is a domestic prescription to quell and defeat this rise in Jew hate which rots the brain and destroys the soul?
Charlie Kirk
Yeah, look, I generally go back to if you enforce the laws evenly and just hold everyone to the same standards, I think you do end up solving a lot of the problem. You get rid of a lot of the protests that violated the content neutral rules. You, you show that, look, just everyone has to treat each other equally. You model that kind of ethic of equality. You know, I think just talking about again, dividing the world into oppressor and oppressed, that's never going to end well for the Jews. So getting rid Of DEI is good. That's very fundamental, that's very important. And yeah, I mean that's basically what I would say.
Andrew Colvett
Look.
Charlie Kirk
And the other thing I would say though too is just unfortunately, you know, anti Semitism's always been with us. It's not a rational force. And we no longer enjoy the kind of golden era where you could just take this very pro Israel and philo Semitic consensus for granted.
Andrew Colvett
It's a new terrain.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah. And you know, like probably not the worst thing for Jews to learn some self defense. I unfortunately.
Andrew Colvett
But how can people follow you, support you? Look at your work.
Charlie Kirk
I'm on TwitteraronSavarium. I write for the Washington Free Beacon.
Andrew Colvett
Which is great, by the way.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah, great.
Andrew Colvett
They do important work. Talk a little bit about that.
Charlie Kirk
Oh, yeah, sure. So we're one of the few outlets on the right that's really dedicated almost exclusively to investigative reporting.
Andrew Colvett
Yeah, I know. That's what makes you guys different.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah. And I think for young people interested.
Andrew Colvett
It'S the most important type of report.
Charlie Kirk
Yes. I would say there's also a temptation on the right in particular to want to go into opinion journalism which we've sort of over indexed on.
Andrew Colvett
Guilty.
Charlie Kirk
Yeah, no, look, I mean I was that way as a college student. I was like, ah, I want to, you know, be a New York Times columnist and spout off my views. The reality is that, that it's not impossible to be influential as an opinion columnist. It's very, very difficult.
Andrew Colvett
I agree.
Charlie Kirk
And it's much easier. You'll get much more bang for your buck if you go into so many unreported stories in this country. And to be honest, it does not. It's not all that hard. It's not all that hard to do. Takes a little work. But like, you just, you interview people, you get people to give you documents and you just, you report it accurately. You don't have to editorialize. You let the facts speak for themselves.
Andrew Colvett
Aaron, thank you for your time. Incredible work. If I was giving out Pulitzer prizes, you would have got one. Especially for the monoclonal antibody story. Thank you, Aaron Saberian. Keep up the great work. You're welcome back anytime. Have a wonderful weekend, everybody. Shabbat shalom. I'll see you guys on Monday. And I'm traveling all over the world. God bless you guys. Have a wonderful weekend.
