Christ the Lord for he alone is worthy. For he alone is worthy. Well, it's been a wild week in America and around the world. Just off the heels of Easter and the Easter Egg roll event at the White House, which by the way, was a strong contrast to last administration's day of transgender recognition of whatever. On Easter, all eyes turned toward the Middle east and Iran. President Trump sent a stern ultimatum with the deadline of 8pm Tuesday night of this week before he was going to drop the hammer on Iran. And the world rejoiced. With a two week double sided ceasefire, Iran confirmed that it will open the Strait of Hormuz for safe passage. President Trump is cautiously optimistic. Trump said the two week period will be used to finalize a possible long term peace deal with Iran and that negotiations are very far along. We all need to pray for a complete resolution and for peace. And while faith is back in America, there are growing concerns about what Americans believe. Christian researcher George Barna has documented a crisis of faith and hope in American culture. Right now, only 6% of American adults hold to a biblical worldview. 58% of Americans reject the notion of absolute right and wrong. Fewer than one in four American adults attend church weekly. And he found that 56% of Gen Z adults report experiencing regular bouts of anxiety, depression and crippling fear in the past year. That's pretty alarming. Hey, let's all pray that the mighty hand of God will continue moving in our midst. Here's a great verse to hold onto from the Bible this week. Proverbs 29:25. The fear of man will prove to be a snare. But whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. Hold on. As we jump head first into our discussion here on Sunday, the road forward. I'm going to pray. We're going to get started. God be with us. Bless our time together. Use this for your glory. God, we pray that you would guide in all the affairs of what's happening in our world. God, show yourself, reveal yourself. Our hope, our trust is in you. I pray in the strong name of Jesus. Amen. Let's get started.

Join us now. Samuel Rodriguez. He's the president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, the world's largest Hispanic Christian organization. And he's lead pastor at New Season Church in Sacramento, California. Pastor Sam, welcome back. Thank you for joining me.
Pastor Sam Rodriguez
Good to be with you, my friend.
Dr. Tim Clinton
Thank you for having me, Sam. Earlier this week, everybody was dialed in Tuesday night to what's going to happen at 8pm President Trump meant business. Everybody knew it. And hey, we got this two sided, double sided ceasefire. Sam. Amazing. You know that everybody was calling them unhinged, unbalanced, crazy. You know that we're going to try them for war crimes going after him. Sam, we're talking about some pretty bad people over there, you know that an evil regime. Think about what they've done. Just some of your reflections on all this.
Pastor Sam Rodriguez
We're talking about 47 years, Tim, 47 years of constant harassment, of American lives being lost, of allies being attacked, of proxies engaged in terrorist attacks. Not just proxies, but the number one sponsor of terrorism around the world, Iran. We're talking about 47 years of terror, of fear, of murder, of children being mutilated, of soldiers coming back from Iraq with IEDs that were manufactured, created and distributed by Iran. And right now they're walking around in America on one limb, right? So that's what we're talking about. That's what we're referencing. And by the way, Tim, that tweet of the ending of a civilization. Keep on reading. Scroll, my friend, scroll. Read the rest. He specifically targeted the Iranian regime and blessed the Iranian people, who he called good people. So he's referencing this military civilization. It's the utilization of words, the words the way that Donald J. Trump can only engage words, right his lexicon. Brilliant. It worked. Did it work? We just got two weeks of ceasefire. Did it work? Absolutely, it worked. That's the art of the deal. This is the President, Donald Trump modus operandi, and it seems to be working on every other policy. I think at the end of the day, we're going to be surprised. At the end of his presidency, the world will be rid of an Iranian regime that has been harassing and terrorizing the world for close to 50 years.
Dr. Tim Clinton
Sam. I think I'm shocked at how serious it really is. Was. I mean, Secretary Rubio came out and just said, hey, you better realize how much capability they had and much longer. I'm not sure we could have, quote, stopped all that stuff without really getting after it and throwing down, if you know what I mean. Sam, it could have gotten really, really ugly. Thank God for some bold moves here. Obviously paying them a little money, like billions of dollars or whatever. Didn't get it done. Placating him, not getting it done. That's a joke. Hey, and remember, they, what, killed 38,000 of the people? I mean, you know, right in front of the world, et cetera. I mean, come on.
Pastor Sam Rodriguez
Yeah. Bribery did not work with a previous administration. This worked. We're in it to win it, my friend. We are. Listen, all I know, we haven't seen this demonstration of strength since World War II. We really haven't. We have not seen that amount of unbridled. We will do whatever it takes in order to acquire the final outcome, which is at all costs, victory. We haven't seen that since World War II. So this is a new America. This is not a bully America, a harassing America. This is an America that stands up for her values around the world. But never again will Americans be harassed, terrorized, without any consequences. So it's a new day, and I am grateful for the fact that we have the military wherewithal, the political fortitude currently with this administration, administration to move forward.
Dr. Tim Clinton
And we've got to pray earnestly for resolution here. We really do. This is a moment where we come together and support the president and say, listen, let's figure this thing out. By the way, I saw where. And we got to pray for the people of Iran. You see these images of them dancing in the streets, praying and praising President Trump. I saw an interview with David Nasser saying he believed that Christianity was exploding inside Iran. Some four plus million, maybe Christians there. Yeah. This is complicated stuff. And we as Americans need to press in, come together. Sam, I don't know what are you thinking and what you're praying, but the church needs to be bold in this
Pastor Sam Rodriguez
hour, Tim, I'm praying for revival and renewal. This is not about Christian warmongering and it's about Christians wanting more people to come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ as Lord. And again, this theological myopic ideology currently in Iran persecute Christians in record breaking numbers. And for this regime to come down. Praise be God. The Iranian people are able to hear the gospel. Praise be God. Revival and renewal will continue in Iran. And I do come in agreement. We want to see just the glory of Christ fill Iran. Imagine Tim Clinton and Sam Rodriguez. Imagine for a moment. Imagine for a moment Iran becoming the beacon of Christianity in the Middle East. What if that is on the other side of what's currently taking place?
Dr. Tim Clinton
Sam, you go back to the last administration, the Biden Harris administration. You remember what happened on Easter. That was that transgender event. Thanks. It was unbelievable. It was unbelievable to the American people what they were doing on Easter at the White House. Contrast that with what we witness, faith leaders coming to the White House praising Jesus. You know that. I mean, seriously, it was deeply moving. They had that Easter egg roll this week. Crazy event. You know that. Again, a celebration of faith taking place. Sam, talk to us about the role of faith right now. I know like TPUSA is doing those make heaven crowded events. A lot of people see revival on college campuses going on, Sam. Bible sales are going through the roof. Today's generations are showing up at church. Sam, what's happening in your mind?
Pastor Sam Rodriguez
Tim, I haven't covered this with anyone in any other interview. So this is my wife and I were talking this past Sunday and I'm in California. Mind you, I need your audience to understand I am in California, right? So this is communist California, socialist California, a hedonistic California that is experiencing a move of God. And I do believe at the end of the day, California can easily flip towards righteousness and justice. But with that being said, I looked at my wife and went, hey, let's go to the gym right after eight Easter services throughout the course of Saturday, Sunday and Friday, right? I go, I'm just going to go crazy. I'm going to work out, right? I'm wired right now. After the last service, some of the gyms were closed in California, like national franchises. We went, what's going on? We drove around. Many of the establishments were shut down. And I'm going, like, what are we in the South? And even in California, something is happening. What do I mean by this? This administration made it okay for you to come out as a Christian and to exercise that faith publicly without any consequences. This is one of the most unbelievable, remarkable deliverables of this administration. It's okay to be a Christian and it's okay to be a Christian and be a business owner and shut down your business because you won't be harassed by politicians and government regardless of where you live, including California. This is what's taking place in America.
Dr. Tim Clinton
Sam, always great to see you, my friend. Thank you so much for joining me.
Pastor Sam Rodriguez

Good to be with you.
Dr. Tim Clinton
Dr. Hey Tim, I guess as we get started, I want to say thank you for your service. Especially in this, in these times with everything that's going on, you just think about those who are serving all around the world, you know, in our armed forces, and those, by the way, who serve in government. And granted, I know there's a lot of tension going on about different sides and all that kind of stuff, but it's all service to our country. It's important work. And thank God we've got people in there. I'm praying, Come, let us reason together, Tim, that we would get some work done. You know, let's roll up our sleeves and let's be Americans here. Tim. I guess as we get started out Tuesdays, 8pm deadline this week President Trump, all eyes were glued on the Middle east and people were praying earnestly and thank God there's this two week double sided ceasefire. But Tim, just some reflections or thoughts from you about what's happening in the Middle east right now.
Dr. Tim Murphy
Well, what's happening in the Middle east, we have to remember, has been something that's going on for hundreds and hundreds of years. But what's been going on with Iran and the United States has been going on intensely for 47 years, beginning with the takeover of our embassy in Tehran and President Carter at that time sending over some helicopters to rescue them that failed. Then the bombing of the Marine barracks in Lebanon funded by and supported by Iran. Hundreds of Marines were killed at that time. Even Reagan we thought would have a stronger response, didn't. And what the Iranians learned from all that is they could act with impunity to kill Americans and provoke terror on us all as part of their psychological warfare game and they believed we would do nothing. They tested President Trump and thought the same. They did not expect more than maybe a bombing or two. But his intensive reaction has gotten their attention. Will it have an impact in long run? We'll wait and see. But we have to remember as a nation this has been harmful to us by, by hundreds and within their own country, by tens of thousands of people they've killed. This is an evil regime and there's no way of around that. We have to admit that and has to be met with eliminating them, quite frankly.
Dr. Tim Clinton
Tim, the Straits of Hormuz, why is that so important? People are all talking about it now and that was one of the biggest, big conditions for the President to get this ceasefire. Absolutely.
Dr. Tim Murphy
Well, so much oil flows out of there from the Gulf States and through the Straits of Hormuz. You know, we, it's, it's narrow, it's, the actual shipping lanes are quite narrow there, a few miles wide. And so it doesn't take much for Iran to shut them down with mines. They can send out people in canoes for, we know with bombs on them. And it's hard when, when the US has multimillion dollars and billions of dollars worth of ships and weapons and it's hard to take out. It's like the single wasp can still sting you when you're protected against something bigger than that. So stopping the shipping, what that's done to the global economy, what that's done to oil is Pretty impactful. We hope that this reopening those states will have a strong and immediate positive impact. It'll be continuous with regard to lowering oil prices and helping the world economy.
Dr. Tim Clinton
Tim, over the last number of years, President Trump has received an onslaught of just animus, hatred. I mean, everything coming at him, all these efforts to impeach him, to imprison him. We saw these attempts at taking his life and so much more. And it's just constant bickering and badgering. In the midst of all this, the left and some of the progressive right coming at the president saying he's unbalanced, unhinged, he's crazy. They try to say he's going to be tried for war crimes, all that kind of stuff. Just some thoughts about in the midst of it, here the ceasefire comes. If he lands this plane, by the way, it looks pretty good for him. That blows up all this stuff all over again. But, Tim, just some reflections. You served in Washington, you get all this and we get bickering back and forth, but some of this is just so ridiculous and over the top. It's driving people crazy.
Dr. Tim Murphy
Absolutely. And it's so intense. And once people continue to state their point of view, they have to defend their point of view, you know, their psychological concept of cognitive dissonance. We don't want to pay attention to anything that challenges our point of view, and we will ignore anything that. That could change our point of view. So people double down and triple down on these things. Look, I get it. If you're looking for things to find where President Trump has said things abrasive, impulsive, brutal, well, you don't have to look very far. It's going to be there. He also has his times of kindness and prayer for reflection, too. But he understands, in this case of dealing with nearly half a century of terror, that the appeasement and the milquetoast approach we've had has ended up with more American lives. And so those who are to that level of just want to attack and destroy him. I want them to reflect on what has happened to our nation over this time. Soft leaders don't get us safety here. That has led to more threats. And it's going to get worse, quite frankly, because I believe that what's happened with Iranian influence, with terrorism, United States, with communities growing that continue to voice hatred and talk about everything, about its Islamophobia, anytime we speak up about that, the distortion of Muslim religion to make it more violent towards us, this whole thing is going to become even more vituperative. I don't see it ending with their attacks on President Trump. But he's got to stand strong.
Dr. Tim Clinton
But yeah, because you got to step back and look at, this is an evil regime we're talking about. They slaughtered what, some 35 plus thousand of their people. We all heard about that wrestler that they just butchered. You hear what I'm saying, Tim? This is, these are bad people. You know, Charlie Kirk, before he died, said that radical Islam, it's incompatible with Western civilization. Take us into those type of thoughts and conversations, Tim, and where do you see this going? People are really concerned, by the way, about the progression of Islam in American culture.
Dr. Tim Murphy
You know, I would even go farther than Charlie Kirk said. Radical Islam is, is not compatible with world culture. It is set at world dominance. They want to set up a caliphate. United States as they're building schools, as they teach children hateful messages towards the United States here and around the world as they try and they get into elected offices and communities, know what they're going for. Oftentimes lower level community elected officials, school boards where they can then push some of these points of view there too. And it's creepy and slowly, but it's systematic. And anybody who turns a blind eye to it says, well, we should accept all religions. This isn't a matter of accepting religion. It's a matter of saying we don't have to accept a radical, violent point of view. And that's what it's coming down to. And they want to see these folks with that radical Islamic approach want to see an overthrow and changes there. And so we need to be aware of it.
Dr. Tim Clinton
Tim, in the midst of this, you go back to the ceasefire and everybody's praying for some type of complete resolution. Can we get there? We've yet to see that. And Tim, I want you to comment a little bit more maybe on Iranian warfare strategy, how they go about and what you anticipate as we look to the days ahead.
Dr. Tim Murphy
Well, they recognize that they don't have the firepower of the United States. If they had a nuclear bomb and they were in a very short term, they would have enough weapons and missiles to deliver it. So once we stop them on that, but they recognize they can't fight against American military strength. So what they do is they use psychological warfare. They've learned the lessons of the United States weakness in Vietnam, guerrilla warfare, small attacks, continuing on what they did in Iraq and Afghanistan, putting bombs on women and children in suicide vests to attack. They know that the psychological warfare of the thousand cuts can affect a country to the point that we have pulled out. So they may have thousands of these little cheap drones up against our multimillion dollar missiles. It doesn't matter to them. What matters is continuing this. And even with a ceasefire between the US And Iran, we hope it lasts. I'm not sure it will. They'll continue their attacks on other countries. I see no changes in that because they've been brought up in a world of hatred and a world that they believe they have to dominate. So let's note that this is going to continue to be this psychological warfare to attack, to turn world opinion against the United States, to turn domestic opinion against President Trump. I see them as continuing that. Just having leadership change and the next level of leadership change and the next, the next level of leadership change won't do it.
Dr. Tim Clinton
It.
Dr. Tim Murphy
It's going to require a cultural change in Iran to really make major changes on this. I'm not optimistic about that, Tim. I really think that some of those problems will continue. And so we have to remain strong and bold and courageous.
Dr. Tim Clinton
Tim, before you go, everybody watched and prayed for those pilots that were shot down in Iran and the amazing rescue that took place. It was stunning what we were able to do to get in there, find them, and especially the last one. It was just, what a story. But, Tim, you also step back and you have a deep love for those who wear the uniform and serve our country and their families. You care about the kids of these soldiers and more. You, I saw you were in a, in a, in a text thread with some people and you were talking about this very thing. Can you give us some reflections on what you really care about, what you're thinking about in terms of the families
Dr. Tim Murphy
of those who serve and to you, too. I mean, you're, you're in the military as well, and you understand it's in there. We learn a lot about discipline. We learn a lot about respect. Everything like how you wear your uniform and the perfection of lines. All those is understanding. You can't have any leeway around that. Well, the children growing up in military families, let's acknowledge they serve, too. April is military child month. And in that, understand the issues that they go through. They can learn a lot about resilience and independence and pride and patriotism. They learn a lot more about what world news means, but they also are dealing with challenges of jumping from school to school as the family moves around. Some of the things they see on TV can hit them a little bit harder or a lot harder, or their parents may be gone, they may miss birthdays and sporting events and other things too. It is important for communities for schools to recognize that, to be supportive of them. Don't wait for children to say, yeah, this bothers me. I would suggest teachers and pastors and people involved with ministry say, how are things going for you? And really ask that second question because kids may not answer it right away. And I believe that we should all be taking some special time this month to pray for the children who really don't have any say so in this. They're trying to understand this crazy world we live in and all this violence and they need our support and they need our prayers.
Dr. Tim Clinton
People want to learn more about you Tim. Where could they go?
Dr. Tim Murphy

Well, as you know, Tim, beginning with that last part, there's a whole history here. These are people that follow a particular radical form of Islam that teaches them that they have a moral obligation to lie to the infidel. And everybody's confused about us, about that. That's us. And so they lie all the time. Nonetheless, they've just had six weeks of seeing the kind of power that the United States military has.
Dr. Tim Clinton
What does Mike Tyson say? Gary, Everybody has a plan until you get punched in the mouth type thing. There you go.
Gary Bauer
And then they don't have a plan. Right? Yes. Right, yeah. No, they saw that. And they certainly know by now what kind of a man that President Trump is in his willingness and his strength and his courage and so forth. But you know, Tim, the thing that just the feeling I had this week, in addition to being proud and excited and thanking God for the developments, I was furious at what the Democrat Party and its leaders were doing at a time when we had Iran's back to the wall. Democrat leaders were coming out urging the Cabinet of the United States to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove Trump from office because he had gone insane. I mean, they were literally giving aid and comfort to our enemies. And if Iran would have listened to that, they very well may not have made even this two week deal.
Dr. Tim Clinton
You're right, Gary. Unhinged. He's unbalanced. We're going to try, hey, we're going to, we're going to put him on trial for war crimes, etc. Just going after him like crazy. Crazy. At the end of the day, I think the American people are so done with all that garbage. They saw what happened over the last administration, how they went after Trump on everything. People are just kind of bland. It's like, yeah, yeah, yeah, more, more of the same craziness. At the same time. These are important moments. We need to be stepping up and praying about everything that's going down. And this is, these are tough, challenging things to get done. Trump kind of blew everything up by this two week double sided ceasefire. Here you go. It could land the plane here, you know, get this thing done. Gary, that would be a big, big deal. You're right. This is disgusting, what we're seeing.
Gary Bauer
Yep.
Dr. Tim Clinton
Yeah.
Gary Bauer
If he can pull this off, it would be huge. Now look, we've already won a significant victory. They have degraded the Iranian military in a massive way. I don't want to overstate and I overstate it. I think there is a tendency to do that. And we've seen before in other wars that the enemy can be resilient, but in just the numbers of missiles we've destroyed, how much we've set back their Nuclear program, what we did with their Navy. A lot of progress has been made and it will take them, I believe, years to recover to where they were before President Trump and the brave men and women of the US Military went in and taught him a couple of lessons.
Dr. Tim Clinton
You know, Gary, you're seeing the images too, of the people in Iran celebrating, dancing in the streets with joy. They want to be free. I know there are a lot of people stateside, Iranians, who are celebrating and just wanting to, quote, laud President Trump. They're like, this is a moment. And so with all the propaganda going on, it's tough to sift your way through everything. We need just rational, clear voices in the midst of this. This is not a time for people to be silent. Let's get up, speak up, show up, suit up, let's do something, let's pray, especially for these moments.
Gary Bauer
I agree completely, Tim. I. You know, when, when the pilot was rescued after the shoot down in Iran over Easter weekend and all the symbolism of that, a lot of people in the administration publicly asked for prayers. President Trump and others thanked God when the pilot was rescued. And again, the left wing media and some Democrats in Congress said it was inappropriate, that this was making it a religious war. This was a violation of norms. No, it wasn't a violation of norms. We've been asking for God's protection when our men and women go into combat all the way back to 1776. We've been doing that up until about the last decade when Biden was in and some of the other, you know, under the, under President Obama during those two terms. We, we got away from that and we started extolling the virtues of officers that were showing up at the Pentagon in dresses. That's who we called brave and courageous. We're going back to normal now. We know that without God's hand of protection, America can't accomplish anything.
Dr. Tim Clinton
And Gary, while people are going after President Trump, what about this evil
Gary Bauer
regime?
Dr. Tim Clinton
What about those bad people over there killing what was some 38,000 of their own people shooting them in the head? Remember the wrestler who went back? They killed him. Think about everything that's going. I think what I'm shocked by, Gary, is the real capability of what they had in terms of nuclear power and all that. You know, that Marco Rubio, Secretary Rubio, came out and said, dude, you better recognize what really was going on. They were getting to a place where they may not have been stopped. That's serious, Gary. And I think these are the implications of all this is it's going to impact our children and our children's children for peace, hopefully for a long time.
Gary Bauer
No question about look, I don't want to get too deep into military geopolitical strategy and so forth, but North Korea perfected a strategy where they built a very tough conventional military, so tough that it would have been almost too costly to try to go into North Korea, whether South Korea did it or anybody did it, in order to stop their nuclear program. And in other words, they built up a big conventional force to protect the nuclear program they were building. And now they are a nuclear power. And that is exactly what Iran was trying to do. And thank God President Trump had the courage to deal with that, to lance the boil before it got to the point where the price would have been too big.
Dr. Tim Clinton
Gary Bauer, always great to see you, my friend. Thank you for joining me.

for healing, learn more and sign the pledge@workingwithcancerpledge.com joining us now is Joshua Encke. He is a Christian based film director and producer as well as President and Chief Story Officer for Sight and Sound Ministries. He was director and co writer of his newly released second feature and historical drama, It's Called A Great Awakening. You're going to love this. Produced by Sight and Sound Films, and it was just released widely by Roadside Attractions. Joshua, welcome. Thank you so much for joining us. Yeah.
Joshua Enck
Dr. Tim, I thank you so much. It's an honor to be here. And thanks to all those who are listening and watching.
Dr. Tim Clinton
Hey, I cannot believe the buzz going on about A Great Awakening. Everybody is losing their mind over what's happening. It's in the box office everywhere. Talks about an unlikely friendship between evangelist George Whitefield, Benjamin Franklin. But it all ties back, really to a theme of liberty. Joshua, where did it come from, what's happening and what's in your heart over this film?
Joshua Enck
Yeah. Well, thanks again for having me. And it's such a relief to be on this side of the release that we can actually now talk about a movie that's in theaters for the past several months. It's all. It's been the promotional lead up to the launch, and so now it is in theaters nationwide. And like you said, the reception has been absolutely overwhelmingly positive. Lives being changed, ministry leaders who are, you know, there's a ministry leader in California, a very prominent pastor in California, who said to his congregation, he said, don't come to my church service on Wednesday. Go see this movie. That's what he said. And so it's been a joy for us here at Sight and Sound to be on that receiving end and to see what the Lord is doing with this film on liberty. And that is the theme of the film. You know, we're in our 250th anniversary as a nation this year, and there's going to be lots of circles of people talking about this word liberty, but they will likely have differing definitions of what that is. This film emphasizes the biblical definition of that beautiful word called liberty. The same word that's on our Liberty Bell from the verse from Leviticus, proclaim liberty throughout all the land, unto all the inhabitants thereof. We had a vision that this film would be like that bell, ringing out liberty, proclaiming it once again over the land, people being set free from sin. And we're telling the story through these incredibly unlikely friends, Benjamin Franklin, who's arguably the most celebrated deist of the founding Fathers, who happen to be best friends and business partners with arguably the most powerful evangelist of all time, and that's Reverend George Whitefield. It's an unlikely friendship. It's all a true story. And without Ben Franklin promoting George Whitfield's sermons and all of his whereabouts, the first Great Awakening from 1739 to 1770 may not have happened.
Dr. Tim Clinton
I had the privilege of spending a few moments before we have come on here to get into the film, and I didn't want to turn it off because every now and then, something happens. I think in culture, that's catalytic. It's just like all the stars line up. When you think about American culture and the fight, all the battle we've been through, it's been pretty dark. You go back, not too far. You know that. And people are sucking air and they're fighting for religious liberty all over again. And the founding Fathers and the stories and what our forefathers did, just to quote, have this kind of freedom in America, and then you begin to realize the threat of the loss of those. At the same time, you go and think about what happened with our friend Charlie Kirk being assassinated, if you will, before the eyes of Americans everywhere for what? Holding a microphone. You know that. And in the midst of it, we know even in this hour, we're looking at the Middle east and seeing what's potentially happening over there with Iran and trying to figure out what is it, What's. What's going on in culture. In the midst of it, you realize faith is back in America like never before. We just came through Easter season, and I'm telling you what. People everywhere are boldly proclaiming Christ. You're seeing Bible sales through the roof. You're seeing people coming to Christ like never before. You see the next generations showing up in church revivals on college campuses. This is a moment. And then going to this film, you go back into the life of Whitefield. You go back to Benjamin Franklin. And I just loved how it started out. You can see the seeds of life being born in them. Take us back. You're the writer, director, producer of all this. I'm wondering what was happening in your heart and mind as you began just to go straight into this. This narrative, this story, and to bring it to life on film.
Joshua Enck
Yeah, man. Well, there's a lot there. Goodness, you know, this isn't necessarily a movie. It's really a movement. And. And the film is really. It's the revelation that took place before the American Revolution. You know, when you know the backstory of a major event, it makes you appreciate that event even more. And here we are in our 250th anniversary, specifically in July, and there's going to be a lot of cannons and fireworks, confetti being flown and heard all around the nation to celebrate independence. But here's the thing is our founding fathers didn't wake up on July 4th and just say, hey, let's be a self governing people. That took time. And so the first great awakening from 1739 to 1770 was a 30 year period of time, which is the biblical definition of a generation. It took an entire generation of revivals led by George Whitfield and many others, the Wesley brothers amongst you know, the other pastors at the time, evangelists at the time, in order to create like a cultural overhaul. And so you have, you know, in 1776 when we declared independence, you have men who are 30 years old who don't know anything but these Judeo Christian values being sewn into their lives, you know, during this entire Great Awakening. And so it prepared the people, the Great Awakening, to become a self governing people. And it became then the part of their language to say things like our inalienable rights are not a gift given to us by a king, but a
Dr. Tim Clinton
right from God, by God.
Joshua Enck
They didn't just come up with those snazzy phrases and words. They were, they were saturated for things, 30 years with them to become that DNA that led to what we know as the, the United States of America. And so when we set out to do this film, we knew that liberty was the theme of it. And it took some time, but we discovered that it was the revelation before the revolution through this George Whitfield, who is an unbelievable person in our history, he's known as the spiritual founding father. Without him, we just would not have had the influence on culture that we had during that 30 year period of time. And the last thing I'll say to your question, to your point that you just made was, you know, there's a preparation happening right now. I believe, I believe this is a prophetic film. And what does a prophet do? A prophet goes out and yell and proclaims truth above the noise of culture. And even though most of the world might want to just push them aside, their words don't return Void. And there's anthems and there's banners that are created that the church capital C can rally behind. And that's what we're seeing nationally right now with this film. We have not these incredible people, key influencers all over the United States who are picking up this film like a banner, like an anthem. And they're saying, churches, congregations, small groups, youth groups. You got to go see this movie so that you can understand more fully what's at stake with liberty in this country.
Dr. Tim Clinton
A few years ago I had the privilege of interviewing Randall Wallace, the producer of Braveheart Secretariat. And I said, what drives the mindset to produce that kind of film?
Joshua Enck
Yeah.
Dr. Tim Clinton
He said, tim, it's what's in the heart of man that I look for. What do they cry out for? And I'm thinking the same thing as I look at you, Joshua, and I think about liberty. Give me liberty or give me death. I don't want my children and my children's children to grow up without that kind of freedom that we had, that we tasted, you know, that. That those rights really do come from God. In the midst of all this, I was with a group of faith leaders. We were recently at the White House, gathered together, praying and praising God. You know that. And I know there's a lot going on. There's a lot of dynamics at work, but nevertheless, the cry of their spirit is, God, give us these freedoms. Lord, we worship you above everything. And so once we look to America, 250, I think you're right. This picks up the anthem, if you will. Let me ask you this real quick. If people want to learn more about this, the great. A great awakening where they can go see it, where they can learn more about you, sight and sound and where can they go?
Joshua Enck
A greatawakening.com and obviously the movie is in movie theaters, 1300 movie theaters nationwide right now. It opened on Good Friday. Nationally, we picked up some more theaters here recently. And so look at your local listings. Go to Fandango, you know, anywhere that you go to look at what's in the movie theaters. But a greatawakening.com will definitely get you there as well. And yeah, I just want to go back and just thank you, Dr. Tim, for what you're doing and the ministry that you're leading and really being one of the voices today that's going to really motivate leaders, influencers in the culture for today. You mentioned Wallace. I mean, he's a hero. He's such a talented writer. And he's right. You know, you can do a lot of head knowledge and a lot of education and teaching, but when it goes to the heart of the man, you know, and the woman and child, you know, that's when people change their lives when it hits their heart. And this film, a great awakening is absolutely. It's a heart. It's a heart and tear jerker, for sure.
Dr. Tim Clinton
Joshua, I want to close this way. A man we both respected and loved, a strong voice, courageous voice in culture, was Dr. James Dobson. I heard him say this. We need to pray the church would awaken and find her rightful voice. Until then, parachurch organizations have to stand in the gap. But the real powers in the church pray the church would awaken and find her voice. There's a line in that film. I think it was. I think it's Whitfield. We're to be the hands and feet of Christ. Then it was the cry of no. Well, we also. What about his voice? Voice. What about his voice?
Joshua Enck
Yeah.
Dr. Tim Clinton
This is a time, this is a moment that's a big takeaway from a great awakening. Joshua, always great to see you, my friend. Thank you so much. We're praying that God would do great and mighty things with this film. A great awakening.
Joshua Enck
Thank you for joining us and all for his glory. Thank you, Dr. Tim.

Hey, in closing, these are unprecedented times. They're challenging times, but I know this. God's in control. I believe is at work. Hope you'll press in close to him in his heart and know that God loves you and wants to be involved in your life. Our hope, our strength comes from the Lord. Hey, here again is an encouraging verse from the Bible. I want to write this down. Reflect on it all week. Proverbs 29:25. The fear of man will prove to be a snare. But whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. Hope you know that you can look to him for wisdom and direction in your everyday life. Let me also say this. I've also learned, though, as a professional counselor, that it's normal to have concern, maybe fear, worry, when it seems like life's not the way it's supposed to be. When you're watching TV and you're hearing about war and rumors of war and so much more. For some, while, it's normal to have concern, fear and worry that can begin to really dictate their life. It can begin to consume you, control you. It's easy to lose perspective and even hope. It can get so dark for some that they feel like life would be better off without them. I say this every week because it's really important. You don't have to live like that. Simply taking a step, reaching out for help is often the gateway to a new day or a new you. And if you or someone you love is struggling, do that. There are wonderful counsels and pastors who actually care and help direct you, maybe help you find that hope, the answers that you're looking for. There are also a lot of wonderful resources available now. I love to connect you with some of those you can Learn more at our website@aacc.net that's a acc.net or check out our brand new website. If you want to get connected with a mental health leader in your area, check out ChristianCareConnect.com ChristianCareConnect.com if you don't have a relationship with God, you know what? You can do that right now by asking him to come into your life. Ask him to forgive you of your sin and to be your Lord and Savior. Matter of fact, you can pray a simple prayer from your heart to God's heart right now. Pray this prayer after me. Lord Jesus, I need you. I know I'm a sinner. I believe that you died for my sins. I want to turn from my ways and I want to invite you to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for loving me, giving your life for me. That's what Easter was all about. Thank you for the gift of grace and forgiveness, the gift of eternal life, of heaven. I pray all this in the strong name of Jesus. Amen. You know what the Bible says? The Bible says in Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and you believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, the Bible says this. You will be saved. Best thing you can do right now is if you prayed that prayer. Go serve God for the rest of your life. He'll give you the strength to do it. And tell someone about your decision. If you're struggling with hopelessness, you say, tim, it's really dark. I hope you'll pick up the phone right now and talk to someone. Call the suicide hotline. That number is 988. That's it. Just dial 988- the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Before we go, maybe God's gifted you with a heart to help others. Host: Dr. Tim Clinton
Guests: Pastor Sam Rodriguez, Dr. Tim Murphy, Gary Bauer, Joshua Enck
Theme: The intersection of faith, culture, and current events; reflections on America, faith resurgence, Middle East tensions, revival in culture, and the pursuit of liberty.
This episode of "Real America's Voice" explores the tumultuous and rapidly changing state of current events both in America and internationally. Dr. Tim Clinton and his guests reflect on the aftermath of a major Middle East standoff, the resurgence of public faith in American life, ongoing cultural and spiritual warfare, and the role of Christians and the church in bringing hope and direction. They discuss the historic ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran, the perceived restoration of Christian values in public life, and the cultural impact of the new film "A Great Awakening." The tone is urgent yet hopeful, emphasizing both vigilance and spiritual renewal.
Timestamp: 03:55 – 13:10
With global attention fixated on President Trump’s response to mounting threats from Iran, a double-sided two-week ceasefire was achieved after a stern ultimatum (8pm Tuesday).
Guests and host attribute this diplomatic success to forceful leadership and a stance they believe contrasts with previous administrations, highlighting themes of American strength and deterrence.
"We haven't seen this demonstration of strength since World War II. ...This is an America that stands up for her values around the world." — Pastor Sam Rodriguez (09:47)
Both Sam Rodriguez and Tim Murphy stress the historical antagonism from the Iranian regime, painting it as the world's leading sponsor of terror.
"These are bad people... an evil regime. Think about what they've done ... children being mutilated, soldiers coming back from Iraq with IEDs that were ... distributed by Iran." — Pastor Sam Rodriguez (07:29)
There’s cautious optimism around the ceasefire, mixed with spiritual calls for prayer over resolution and future peace, emphasizing prayer for both the people of Iran and their leaders.
"We need to pray for the people of Iran. ...I saw an interview ... saying he believed that Christianity was exploding inside Iran." — Dr. Tim Clinton (10:43)
Timestamp: 13:10 – 14:39
Sam Rodriguez (from California) shares a personal anecdote about witnessing closed gyms on Easter due to observance, signifying increasing public expressions of faith even in secularized states.
The Trump administration is credited for creating an environment where faith can be expressed publicly without backlash.
"This administration made it okay for you to come out as a Christian and to exercise that faith publicly without any consequences." — Pastor Sam Rodriguez (13:10)
The host highlights statistical evidence of spiritual crisis in America, referencing George Barna’s research (only 6% of adults hold a biblical worldview, rising anxiety among Gen Z), and calls for revival and renewal.
Timestamp: 18:46 – 30:08 (w/ Dr. Tim Murphy)
Dr. Tim Murphy, former congressman and psychologist, provides historical context for Iranian-American hostilities dating back to 1979, and discusses the psychological warfare employed by Iran.
"What the Iranians learned ... is they could act with impunity to kill Americans and provoke terror ... all part of their psychological warfare game." — Dr. Tim Murphy (19:44)
Analysis of the strategic significance of the Strait of Hormuz and its effect on global oil prices and economic stability.
Trump’s leadership style is discussed critically and supportively, acknowledging his abrasiveness but defending him as effective in a dangerous world.
"Soft leaders don't get us safety. That has led to more threats. ...those who just want to attack and destroy him ... should reflect on what has happened to our nation." — Dr. Tim Murphy (23:03)
Murphy voices concern over the potential for radical Islam’s spread in American culture, doubling down on the need for cultural and spiritual vigilance.
"Radical Islam is not compatible with world culture. ...They want to set up a caliphate." — Dr. Tim Murphy (25:08)
Murphy also empathetically discusses the challenges faced by military families and their children, calling for community support and awareness.
Timestamp: 34:00 – 41:10 (w/ Gary Bauer)
Gary Bauer comments on the domestic political climate, sharply criticizing Democratic leaders for what he sees as undermining the president during a critical international crisis.
"They were literally giving aid and comfort to our enemies. ...If Iran would have listened to that, they may not have made even this two week deal." — Gary Bauer (35:03)
Conversation pivots to the cultural and spiritual heritage of America, asserting that public prayer for military success is a traditional norm, not an aberration.
"We've been asking for God's protection when our men and women go into combat all the way back to 1776." — Gary Bauer (38:19)
Bauer expresses both hope and caution about the ongoing struggle with Iran, comparing their military strategies to North Korea’s and emphasizing the importance of preventative action.
Timestamp: 45:49 – 56:46 (w/ Joshua Enck)
Joshua Enck, director of the film "A Great Awakening," discusses the film’s cultural impact and the resurgence of interest in liberty, faith, and the spiritual roots of America.
The film tells the story of the friendship between George Whitefield and Benjamin Franklin, spotlighting the spiritual revival that laid the groundwork for American independence.
"It's not just a movie. It's a movement. … It’s the revelation that took place before the American Revolution." — Joshua Enck (50:15)
Enck and Clinton discuss the contemporary catalytic effect of faith—rising Bible sales, college campus revivals, and a hunger for religious liberty.
The film's message is positioned as prophetic—a rallying banner for today’s church and culture.
"A prophet goes out and proclaims truth above the noise of culture… their words don't return void…And that's what we're seeing nationally right now with this film." — Joshua Enck (51:49)
Connection is drawn between historic revival and the pressing need for American Christians to raise their voice in the present moment.

"At the end of the day, we're going to be surprised. At the end of his presidency, the world will be rid of an Iranian regime that has been harassing and terrorizing..." — Pastor Sam Rodriguez (08:30)

On national and spiritual renewal:
"America, 250 … This picks up the anthem, if you will." — Dr. Tim Clinton (54:47)
