This week, President Trump gave the State of the union address. 73 Democrats didn't even show up for it. A few of them hosted their own, quote, people's State of the Union address. It was a nothing burger. Well, anyway, they missed a doozy. Twelve months ago, President Trump inherited a mess. Open borders flooding into our country. Terrorists, transgender ideology was being railroaded down the throats of American. We had a broken economy and a whole lot more. The President opened the night urging that our nation is back. And just in time for the 250th anniversary of the US of A. Trump declared it's the golden age of America. He claimed the highest stock market in American history, the strongest and most secure border ever, and the flow of fentanyl is down 56%. The broken health care message, it's being fixed. And the prescription drug costing disaster has been dealt a death blow. He also addressed the plundering of America and blasted Democrats who refused to stand for protecting Americans over illegal aliens. And pressure, by the way, is at an all time high for the Senate to pass the Save America Act. It is time to act. People should have a voter id. And yes, by the way, there were some wild and amazing moments. The USA Men's hockey team, numerous patriotic moments with the awarding of what? The Congressional Medal of Honor, the Purple Heart and so much more. It was beautiful. Thank God that ultimately he rules in the affairs of men and that we can look to God for guidance and wisdom in times like these. Our hope, our strength that comes from the Lord. Here's a great verse to hold on to this week. John 16 verses 23 and 24. Very truly, I tell you my father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now, you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive and your joy will be full. I'm going to pray. We're going to get started. God be with us. Bless our broadcast today. Michelle, this week, the President State of the Union address, Unbelievable. It was shocking. Seriously, I was stunned by it. A lot of people said he was very focused, very determined. I got a ton of messages, best he has ever done. Michelle, the tone, I think there was a little bit of disgust maybe from the president and maybe a little pity or something, I don't know, but it was pretty sobering. Also, your take, your reflections on the address.

Michele Bachmann (6:08)

I agree with everything that you said, Tim, and I think that the president, who has worked like at Dragon Speed Energy throughout the entire first year of his presidency, he realizes what rough shape the United States is in. And he also realizes that President Biden created a lot of conflicts across the world. All the bad guys across the world realized, hey, the cat's away, the mice will play. And so since President Biden wasn't really running the ship in America, the bad guys took over. So what President Trump inherited was something like, you can't believe, it was conflicts all over the world. He's tried to calm that down, and then also the inflation and everything that happened. The United States, what he has done as a turner around artists is legendary for the United States, but also for the world. I think the world is grateful that he's president. He's brought certainty to foreign policy and we couldn't be more thrilled. But I think the disgust that you're talking about is what he found, what was left to him, what he had to do to try and get things figured out. You know, it's a lot tougher to create something than it is to destroy. And we saw destruction for four years under Joe Biden. Kidding. Absolute destruction. And so now President Trump has been building that up and only he could do what's happened. I think, you know, I'm not trying to be like, worshiping here, but I truly believe we don't deserve President Trump. He is that good of a president. I'm just very, very proud of him for what he's done, and I'm thankful as an American citizen.

Michelle, you spent many moments in the, in the chamber. You, you've been down there, you know what it's like. You sense the, the awe and just the amazing Work where people reach across the aisle and do work together. Michelle, when you look at last, when you look at what happened this week, I'm thinking about 73 Democrats didn't even show up. I think that was the number for the address from the president, starting with that. And then some of the, you know, the spectacle stuff that we saw. Just. What's your take on that?

Michele Bachmann (8:24)

Well, my. My take is that they don't care if we do better. We're just normal people, all of us. We're just normal people living our lives, trying to have a better life for our kids and try to end our lives well. And you just get the sense from them that either they're lazy or they just really don't care. They're not interested in making sure that the United States does better. All they want is of a bigger government. They want bigger government. They want whatever they want. They're very selfish people, to be honest with you. That's my bottom line. And I'm shocked when people would come to see me in Congress. I always felt like they put too much trust in us, like we're trying to do the best thing for them. If they only knew. Well, last night gave the American people a real picture. You had half the chamber, the Democrats who sat there, bored out of their minds. Some of them were sleeping. Some of them were screaming filthy language, like Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib screaming filthy language. They just, they. They just had no connection with normal life. You didn't see normalcy. I'll tell you, I think one of the most disgusting things was the beautiful Iranian girl who. She and her mom had come to the United States for Ukraine, and it's. I couldn't believe it. You have these Democrats wearing Ukrainian pins. They're wearing Ukrainian pins. And a Ukrainian mother is weeping her eyes out because her daughter was brutally murdered by a monster that Democrats had let out of jail like, 16 times. And she's. The woman is crushed. Her life will never be the same. And so the Republicans are on their feet. Everybody is, you know, applauding this mother because our hearts are broken for her. And the Democrats were literally sitting there. Some had their head in their hands, bored out of their minds, sleeping. They couldn't stand for a mother whose daughter was brutalized by a monster. That's not political. That's being human. That's being normal.

Dr. Tim Clinton (10:38)

President Trump put them in a little bit of a corner, and he said, I want to have you stand. If you think your job is to put Americans ahead of illegal aliens. It was Pretty. It was pretty. It was sobering to me, Michelle. I was kind of. I was saddened by the whole thing. I couldn't believe what I was watching from those pins. I'm talking a woman representing our country. You know that. And just coming at law enforcement to their behavior, that was just beyond the pale. It's like you can't even believe this is school. This is like playground stuff. You know that.

Michele Bachmann (11:14)

Oh, exactly. That's why I think they've completely lost their way. They haven't been focused, Tim, on trying to work with the president to make the country better over this last year. All they've tried to do is slow him down. They don't care that it means that our lives aren't going to be improved. They just care about getting back in power. And that was the best line of the whole night when the president said that stand. If you stand with the American people rather than illegal aliens, and they refuse used to do it. They showed their true colors. Their voting block for the future are illegal aliens. That's who they care about. That's their voter constituency. That's why they're so angry at President Trump, because they want illegal aliens so that they can have more welfare and more bureaucracy. And they can lead those people around by the nose. Because the basic truth is the Democrat Party, they're reaching toward a communist agenda. Now, that sounds like hyperbole on my part, like I'm being overstating and melodramatic. I am not. They have now taken the agenda of what communists used to go for. That's what they want. And so they're completely out of touch with most Americans. This tells you how out of touch they are. Tim, Last night, after CNN was broadcasting the president's State of the Union, they did a poll before and President Trump was at 54%. Among CNN viewers afterwards, he was 64%. So the CNN audience, two thirds of them were right with President Trump. So he has the normal mainstream agenda. They have nothing. Illegal aliens. And you're standing up for monsters that have gone to jail 40 times and you're gonna let them out again? This is not what the American people want. They are taking their brand and they're soiling it in the dustbin of history right now.

Hey, thank you so much, Dr. Clinton. It's always good to be with you and your, and your viewers.

Travis, been a wild week. That State of the Union address earlier this week, unbelievable. I mean, most, most of the people were texting me were like, best Trump address ever. Travis, he was in rare form. You know, I sense he, he didn't come across tension or pressed, but probably a little bit more disgusted and maybe he had some pity or something, I don't know. But I, I, he was, he was strong. I know that.

Travis Johnson (17:03)

He really was. He did a masterful job of featuring the gallery and the walk in by the U.S. olympic team, the gold medalist hockey players. That was fantastic. It was, you know, I love that. Now on Sunday, last Sunday, I had a Canadian that was with me helping me preach. And so he reminded me that Canada and the U.S. were playing gold medal hockey. I said, well, Daniel, here's what you need to know. If America wins, we're celebrating from that pulpit. But if you, if Canada wins and you bring it up, I'm going to talk about how unspiritual and unflattering it was that you did that. What, what a day, what a moment President Trump had there at the State of the Union with the hockey team.

Dr. Tim Clinton (17:43)

Yeah, it was, Travis. We knew there'd be a little bit of theatrical stuff going on, little spectacle stuff. Al Green, you know, holding up a little sign and making a little commotion like he did last time. And then of course, some of the, well, hey, 73 Democrats decided not even to show up, which is, you know, theatrical on their end, but which was like a nothing burger. Okay, big deal. But Travis, them not standing for a number of events that are just flat out American. You know that when you've got a mama weeping over her daughter being brutally murdered on a light trail train there in Charlotte, North Carolina, Irena, it's just like, how do you get to those kind of places, Travis? How do we get to those places where we have that much disdain and disregard and by the way, disrespect even in the chamber of the Congress of the United States.

Travis Johnson (18:46)

You know what I feel like? I feel like there's a group of Americans that they love America no matter who's in office. And then there are Some who hate America when they're not in control. And I think that was on full display when we saw President Trump asked that those that believed that American citizens should be put first ahead of illegal immigrants. And to stand, if you support that, and to see so many people sitting saying, no, they didn't believe that. And now those same people will go home to their houses and they'll lock the doors on their own house and provide safety for their own house. But I think that was a really good point. I don't know how you can't stan with Irena Zarutska and her mom and, you know, so many situations like that. I think it was really great. And I believe that that picture of just under half of that chamber sitting while so many stood for America, I think that that is going to live on through the midterms. You're going to see this in commercials all over the place. We need to remember that we are Americans and we're not just Democrats and Republicans. And it should be easy to stand for the safety and the protection of American citizens.

Dr. Tim Clinton (19:58)

Patriotism was a real theme, I thought, at the event, you know, with the Congressional Medal of Honor being given to two different recipients, the Purple Heart, that was. Those were moving to me. I mean, I come from a pretty strong line of military, and it's just like, Travis, that's what America should be all about, too. In the middle of it, I know there are a lot of issues, but here, here we are going into America 250. I mean, this was a celebration year. This is a year of dignity, you know, that of just honor and beauty for what in the world we've been through for 250 years. Somewhere, hopefully you can reach down in and celebrate the goodness and grace of God. We may not be a perfect nation, but, Travis, we're still the greatest nation on the face of the planet.

Travis Johnson (20:47)

If you've been around the world, you know that, and there are people that they have effectively and with a lot of money, I believe, implanted an idea that somehow America is evil and that there's so, so much to protest against, but there's so much good in America. Listen, I've been. I've been on every continent. I've seen the best of what the other continents have to offer. There is no place like America. It's so prosperous, it's so free, and it's a gift, and we oughta. We ought to defend it and we ought to pray for it. That's why, you know, you're talking about your family. That's why? My grandfather was World War II. He was in the Battle of the Bulge. We ought to be able to celebrate not only our warriors that defend the country abroad, but also our warriors who defend our country in America, our law enforcement. To see ICE and, and to see those who keep our, you know, CBP and our police officers be demonized like they are by these extremists. You know, they have families, they have children. They want to go home and see. And when our elected officials make that a more dangerous situation and for a pay, that's really capped, you know, I think that's, that's really sad, but it makes me so proud of our politicians and our leaders who stand for the people who keep us out of harm's way.

Dr. Tim Clinton (22:02)

Travis, you and I, we're friends with Charlie Kirk and the President took a moment last night to acknowledge Erica Kirk in the audience and the whole issue of political violence, you know, and it just seems like the raging left, the violence factor is going the wrong way. It's going up, not down. But that was a moment there too. I know she's under pretty horrific attack, assault herself. There's so much coming against her in this hour. We need to pray for her. What a journey. And I saw the vice president, J.D. vance. Well, he went to his feet immediately because I know he had a deep love in his heart and has a love for Charlie and his influence.

Travis Johnson (22:47)

Well, I couldn't imagine someone attacking my wife and attacking my wife if she was in a period of deep grief while trying to take care of small children and hold an organization together. And for people who claim to be Charlie's friends, silently sit by, watch that happen or even participate in. We've seen some of that. This is not, this is not our future and, and it's a time for us to rally with the champions. You know, to me, Charlie, Charlie Kirk is a modern day martyr in the pattern, in the, in the, the shape, the legacy of a Nate Saint, you know, in the legacy of, of an Elliot. You know, I, I think what a gift he was to Ecuador, what the Elliots, you know, he, he was to the college campus, what the Elliots were to Ecuador and what a really great gift and a national treasure. And you know, I think that what Charlie did was a powerful witness for Gen Z and I'm so thankful for Erica Kirk and I pray that we all lift her up in prayer and pray. God blesses, you know, tpusa and all of the people that have rallied for our campuses.

Travis, in the middle of all this, you've Written a very important book. It's really embarrassed for Jesus, but there's a play there. There's a little qualifier in front of it. Unembarrassed for Jesus. And Travis, the message of this, you know, one of the very first messages I ever preached in my whole life was out of Romans 1. I am not ashamed of the gospel. It's the Dunamis of God. And talk to us, Travis, about the heart message of this book and why every Christian. Hey. And those interested in faith need to go through this book.

I wish everybody would get unembarrassed of Jesus. The premise here is that in 2026, you either have bold faith or no faith. And that following Jesus from a distance causes you to hear his voice more quietly. And so we see the deconstruction of Jesus. We see the prodigal son, the prodigal church. a time like this, Gary, what a wild week. The address by President Trump, the State of the Union address. He flat out just took the gloves off and I mean, he, you could tell when he walked into the chamber, Gary, there was something in his eyes. You could see it. I mean, it was like, I'm gonna bring it. I'm bringing everything I got. It's like Rocky walking into the deal. We're coming, baby. You know that. Or maybe it was Rambo, I don't know, but it was something, Gary.

Gary Bauer (29:53)

Well, you're right. I mean, you could tell as soon as you laid eyes on him that he was, he was anxious to get into the arena and start making his case. You know, I've seen so many of these over the years, Tim, and you've, you've seen a lot of them, too. This was a brilliant State of the Union. He laid out the case of the things he's done. He repeatedly identified today's Democrat Party as being responsible for a lot of the problems that he's trying to clean up. But the thing that really amazed me, Tim, is how he exposed just how, I can't think of a better word than crazy the modern day left has become. And it's not just, you know, the whacked out activists, you know, related to one group or another. These are elected officials.

Dr. Tim Clinton (30:50)

Yeah, they were disgusting. They were offensive, Gary. I mean, it was ridiculous. You see that one lady with that pin on her and the whole bit, you know, talking about ice. I'm talking an elected official in the chamber with that kind of garbage on her. What in the world's wrong with them?

Gary Bauer (31:08)

Yeah, you know, I mean, and he was heckled during the address by the likes of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, who America rescued from a refugee camp in Somalia and brought her to the United States. She's sitting in Congress. She's usually spending her time criticizing America, but she was sitting in Congress interrupting the President's State of the Union address, and then just a couple of seats in front of her. And to the left was the dude dressed in a dress claiming to be a woman, when I don't know what the heck he was. This is the base of the Democrat Party. And Tim, I thought the most educational moment was when President Trump said, now certainly you can agree, we can all agree on this, can't we? If you agree, just stand up when I say this, that the purpose of government is to serve the citizens of the United States before you serve the illegal aliens coming into The United States and the, the Democrats butts were cemented to their seats while the Republicans jumped up and applauded. What I think almost every American except for the fringe believes.

Dr. Tim Clinton (32:29)

You know, Gary, when you step back and you think about everything that happened under the last administration and everything we saw the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, go through the lawfare, the insanity, hey, the assassination attempts, think about it, the political violence, everything. The rhetoric, I mean, unbelievable. And then you start looking at this waste, fraud and abuse to the nth degree, somewhat $19 billion in Minnesota alone and probably just touching the hem of the garment, if you will. I'm talking about taking money from American taxpayers who by the way, struggle to take care of their own veterans, guys who have quote and gals who've been out there on the front line who battled for our country so that we could enjoy the freedoms that we have. What in the world is wrong with us?

Gary Bauer (33:17)

No, I, I know, you know, if you are a law abiding taxpayer and you file tax returns and you make a mistake on your return, that sets off one of the computers at the ir, you get a friendly letter from the irs, sometimes not so friendly, saying, oh yeah, prove it. I mean, if you're a law abiding taxpayer, you know, you better dot your I's and cross your T's. But money being given out in the name of, of the general welfare to help this group or that group and it's a giveaway and you don't have to worry about it. Just make sure you apply at the right time. We find out that the cheating in that, the fraud in that is sky high. And every dollar of that is coming out of the pockets of the American people that are worried about can they afford to send their kid to college, can they pay their utility bills, what about groceries, what about the mortgage? Will their son and daughter be able to afford the first house? And you've got these again, in many cases, illegal immigrants who came into the country partnering with the Democrat party to rip off the taxpayer and steal billions. Billions of dollars.

Dr. Tim Clinton (34:38)

Like no words. It's just like unbelievable. And who knows the level of corruption across the country. Gary, there were a couple of amazing moments. It was, seemed very patriotic. I don't know how you felt about the overall address. I mean there was some red, white and blue in there. Started with a hockey team come blowing in there, that one boy with his tooth knocked down. I'm just thinking that that, that's the spirit of America, you know, that I, How'd you, how'd you, what'd you think of all that, Gary?

Gary Bauer (35:07)

Well, I mean, I agree completely. That's what I loved about Ronald Reagan. When I was a much, much younger guy, I saw Reagan give a speech and he hit every patriotic bone in my body that had been taught me by my father, Stanley Spike Bauer. And he got that nickname, Spike, not because he KN played chess. He was a fighter, my dad was. And I loved America. That's what I was taught. Reagan touched those nerves. And Donald Trump does it better than anybody since Ronald Reagan. There was just, I believe, if you could measure it, there was a surge of patriotism across the country just listening to the president this week give a state of Union address. At one point, I think he said, if I remember correctly, he just looked in the camera and said, I love America. I just love America. Well, that's the same thing those hockey players were saying as they were leaving teeth and blood over the high sea rink before they handed the Canadians their heads.

Dr. Tim Clinton (36:10)

Well, I'll tell you, when they were pinning on purple hearts and putting the Congressional medal of Honor around the necks of those two amazing people, I wanted to stand at attention. You hear what I'm saying? At home, Seriously, that's the heart of America.

Gary Bauer (36:28)

It is, Tim. You know, one of the people that he recognized was this helicopter pilot that was shot four times in his hips and legs, but finished his mission and has been treated for these wounds. And he's there last night and the president mentions him, tells his story and when people start applauding, this guy struggles to stand up through his pain, the surgeries, etc. And the Democrat side of the room continued with their butts glued to the seat. They wouldn't even stand up for an American hero that himself had a hard time standing because of his wounds.

us now is doctors Les and Leslie Parrott. Les is a clinical psychologist and Leslie is a marriage and family therapist. Together they're New York Times best selling authors and co founders of the center for Healthy Relationships in Seattle. Les Leslie, thank you for joining me.

Les Parrott (38:58)

Tim. Always good to be with you.

Dr. Tim Clinton (39:00)

Hey, as we get started, you know you don't have to go very far in the Bible to realize that we are created for relationship with God and each other. And the truth is in that declaration in Genesis 2:24, it says, man shall leave both husband and mother and father, and cleave unto his wife, and they 2 Twain shall become one flesh. And there's something about the magic or the beauty of that moment. There's no more beautiful thing in all the world than to be in a relationship with someone who's supposed to love you. And they actually love you. By the way, there's nothing more painful in all the world than to be in a relationship with someone who's supposed to love you and they don't love you. You getting this love piece right is everything, isn't it? Yeah.

Les Parrott (39:41)

And I would even say, Tim, it's not that they don't love you, but when they're trying to love you and you don't feel loved, that's the biggest heartbreak of all. Right, they're just their heart is in the right place, but man, they are missing the target.

Leslie Parrott (39:53)

Yeah, that's the tragedy. Because even when you're giving your heart and soul to it, you can miss the target. Wow, that's disappointing.

Dr. Tim Clinton (40:03)

You guys have been doing this relationship stuff forever and God's used you guys all over the country, around the world. At the end of the day, we all know that when you ask people what makes for a better relationship, they'll say love. But the problem is they don't often understand what love is. And you're right, they can be like ships passing in the night. This is the Gary Chapman piece on the five love languages that we all quote, give and receive love differently. And it can be very true in our own marriages. Take us down that road because you guys recently partnered up with Gary, Dr. Gary Chapman, and God's doing something special. Brand new book that's just come out. Something about the love language that matters the most.

Les Parrott (40:42)

Yeah, the love language that matters most. And this book is the result of our own struggle to put into practice the five love languages. Of course, Gary, Dr. Chapman wrote that book more than almost 30 years ago and sold. Timmy's only sold 20 million copies. And so we thought, Gary, maybe we can help you out.

Dr. Tim Clinton (41:04)

Poor Gary. Yeah, we'll see what we can do.

Les Parrott (41:11)

And so. But I. I knew that Leslie's love language, right, was words of affirmation. And so for the longest time, I was like a walking Hallmark card just of. Of, you know, encouraging her. And, man, you can do it. Oh, you want to do that? You'd be the best at that. And I was just like, I thought that's what words of affirmation were. I'd read the purple book. I knew her love language. Why isn't her love tank getting filled up? And it wasn't until lots of conversations with Gary and doing some research, we discovered While there are five love languages, there are 22.

Leslie Parrott (41:50)

Dialect. That's the magic word. And, you know, you think, okay, that's getting complicated. It's not really getting complicated. It's letting you tune into the. The nuances that make it right for the person you're loving.

Les Parrott (42:04)

So with her words of affirmation, one of the dialects, and by the way, just to make sure everybody understands, you know, a dialect, we speak the same language. It's English, but the way they speak in Boston is different than the way they speak in Baton Rouge. Right. And so we have different dialects of love as well. So when you can understand the person that you want to love, when you understand not just their love language, their dialect takes it to a whole new level. So Leslie's love language, words of affirmation but not encouragement.

Michele Bachmann (42:37)

No.

Leslie Parrott (42:38)

In fact, I actually felt my love tank draining out. It was like I sprung a love leak when you would give me encouragement because I would just feel pressure to somehow do a bunch of big things that I didn't really want to do. And I think, oh, wow, am I going to have to do that?

Les Parrott (42:54)

So it was the very opposite of what I wanted her to Experience. And so it wasn't until we began to do this research, and I realized her dialect, when it comes to words of affirmation, is all about compliments.

Michele Bachmann (43:07)

Yeah.

Leslie Parrott (43:07)

I love it. If you notice something I've already done that you found to be amazing, and you let me know.

Les Parrott (43:13)

And it's not like, oh, oh, you know, what a beautiful sweater you have on, or whatever. I'm sure you love that.

Leslie Parrott (43:18)

I don't mind that.

Les Parrott (43:20)

But the real compliments are like, hey, I watched you interact with our son Jackson the other day. That was brilliant parenting that you did there. I just wanted you to know I

Leslie Parrott (43:29)

can feel it right now.

Les Parrott (43:30)

Yeah. So you get the idea, Tim. It's the dialects that's the game changer. And that's why this love language that matters most, is all about that.

Dr. Tim Clinton (43:41)

So let's go back. The original concept was there are five different love languages, like giving gifts and words of affirmation, acts of service, physical touch. Those things all matter. And what we learned from Gary was, Tim, you're probably different than Julie. And if you are trying to love her in the way you give and receive love, that's probably not where Julie's at. And so you can be loving with everything you've got. And Julie doesn't know that you love her right now. So we got that piece. Now, same thing applies to our kids. You don't love your kids the same way because they're different. What Zach wanted and what Megan wanted were on different planets. You know that. And so we have that, and we learned that. Now what you guys are doing is you're taking us deeper into the woods and saying, it's a little bit more complicated than that. You can actually quote, match up on love language. Oh, Julie's love language is she likes gifts or she likes words of affirmation. The truth is, Julie likes acts of service. If you do things for her, that's where she's at, man. If you don't take the trash out, you are a dog. You are a dog. I mean, a dog dog. So what you're saying, though, is you can actually connect there, but you might not still be connecting. That's where we're going.

Les Parrott (45:12)

You said it's actually more complicated than that. I actually look at it to say it's actually simpler than that, because now you don't have to just go, okay. It's their love languages. Acts of service. How do I love Julie? Maybe I know taking the trash out is good. Maybe I need to do xyz. Whatever it takes. All the Guesswork out of love languages. When you understand her dialect.

Michele Bachmann (45:35)

Yeah.

Leslie Parrott (45:35)

It kind of makes you an expert actually at loving. And by the way, I love what you said, Tim, because you said we tend to organically love the way we would want to be loved out of our own love language. That's why the love language that matters most is not ours.

Les Parrott (45:53)

It's the person in front of you. Right, Tim? When, when Gary and Leslie and I were working on this, I had the manuscript on a table at a restaurant and the server saw the title, the Love Language that Matters Most. And she slapped her little pad of paper down on the table. She goes, I know what it is. And I said, what are you talking about? She said, right there. The love language that matters most. She says it's physical touch.

Michele Bachmann (46:15)

Right.

Les Parrott (46:15)

Because that's my love language. That's the one that really meant, you know, we all just want to assume that it's whatever our language is without even realizing it.

Leslie Parrott (46:23)

We do assume that.

Les Parrott (46:24)

So let's go back to Julie because actually before this interview she called us and she wanted make sure we help you.

Dr. Tim Clinton (46:32)

So it was a long. I'm there. Yeah, I'm there.

Les Parrott (46:37)

It was a long call. So. So there are four dialects of love like this. This is the premium assessment that people can take, by the way, and it shows you. It'll actually show you which of her dialects is most important under acts of service. And let me just have you intuit this, Tim, because you'll get it. Is it conveys care, is it instill security, is it alleviates stress or saves time. There's four dialects for acts of service. Which of those is most important to Julie?

Dr. Tim Clinton (47:08)

Go over them again, Les.

Leslie Parrott (47:12)

Now we see Julie's point.

Dr. Tim Clinton (47:14)

That's funny. You gotta admit that's funny. Listen, you guys, I know this. We're fighting time real quick. You mentioned an assessment there. Yeah, what's that all about? I know you guys have, you know, married up with Dr. Gary Chapman, who we all love, and we've spent so much time with him through the years, but this is, this is unique, this is dynamic. I know you guys put together the Symbols program, Saving youg Marriage before it starts. You had an assessment tool there talk to us about this, quote, love language that matters the most and this brand new assessment piece, because that's something that everybody can get into because they want to learn it, they want to get it right.

Leslie Parrott (47:50)

Right?

Dr. Tim Clinton (47:51)

Yeah.

Les Parrott (47:51)

There's been tens of millions of people that taken the little 10 second quiz to figure out what their love language is. That is not this. This is a 15 page report that helps you not just identify your love language. Right. That's. Some people can just intuit it, just listening to the words. Right. But it'll show you your foreign love language, which is critically important. Sometimes that's the person you're trying to love. And then it helps you identify four people in your life and the level of the love tanks that you're experiencing with them. And then it gets into these things like words of affirmation where it'll go through the dialects that we've been talking about. And then, Tim, you and I, as psychologists, we understand the value of this. The number one question that Gary would get whenever he would talk about the five levelings, how does personality play into it?

Dr. Tim Clinton (48:40)

Oh, yeah.

Les Parrott (48:41)

Well, we integrate that into this report too. So if you're an introvert versus an extrovert, you experience gifts differently.

Dr. Tim Clinton (48:49)

Right.

Les Parrott (48:50)

And so understanding the love language and the dialect and then even understanding maybe the nuance of how God designed you and your personality, that's all. It just unfolds naturally in this assessment.

Dr. Tim Clinton (49:03)

Ask and you will receive. And Your joy will be complete. I hope you know that you can look to God again for wisdom and direction in your everyday life. But let me also say I've learned as a professional counselor that it's normal to have concern, maybe some fear or worry when life isn't going the way it's supposed to go. And I've also learned that if you aren't careful, it can begin to consume you, maybe control you. It's easy to lose perspective for some. They feel like they've lost hope. Say this every week. You don't have to live like that. Picking up the phone, reaching out for help. It's often the gateway to a new day or a new you. If you or someone you love is struggling, I hope you'll do that. Best thing you can do right now is tell someone and then commit to serving God for the rest of your life. He'll give you the strength to do it. I believe that if you're struggling with hopelessness, you'd say, tim, it's so dark, I don't even know. I don't even know if I can do that. I don't know where to turn. I don't know what to do.
