For he alone is worthy.
Interviewer / Host
For he alone is worthy. While the midterm elections are coming this fall and the primaries are in full swing, all eyes locked in on Texas Tuesday night. The AP called it early the Texas primary early. Trump endorsed Ken Paxton. He crushed incumbent John Cornyn. Paxton will square off against leftist radical James Talarico, his opponent again. James Talarico, the radical Texas Senate candidate says the Bible is silent on abortion and government shouldn't restrict it again, citing his faith. He also says this, by the way, that God is non binary and says that there are six different sexes hoping to appeal to women and weak men. These religious assertions, these false teachings, they've got to be addressed by faith leaders. These are biblical issues, not political. Other notable outcomes in Texas, the attorney general raised Chip Roy lost to Maes Middleton and the radical leftist Al Green, who made a spectacle of himself in the last two State of the Union addresses, lost his race. We're just off the heels of Memorial Day honoring those who gave the full measure of devotion. The speeches delivered at Arlington this past week at the National Cemetery by President Trump and Vice President J.D. vance and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth I thought were very powerful and deeply moving under this administration. If you're a veteran, a family member of a veteran, you have to have felt really appreciated and respected. What a contrast from the last administration. This week we also turn our attention to d day, that June 6, 1944 day, the turning point in World War II that happened on the shores of Normandy. Remembering all those who bravely battled, especially those not far from our Virginia home here, the Bedford boys and their families. We know this freedom isn't free. And some gave all Fox News report this week. The ceasefire between the US And Iran is still holding as negotiations between both sides continue behind closed doors. President Trump, he's holding firm no uranium for Iran and the Strait of Hormuz has to be reopened. Continue to pray for a complete resolve and when it comes to waste, fraud and abuse, it continues to be front and center in culture. Stephen Miller said he believes that the fraud and waste being uncovered by the anti fraud task force that President Trump put together is so widespread that dealing with it could balance the budget alone. No wonder why Vice President J.D. vance said when politicians allowed fraud to run rampant, normal Americans suffer. Hey, don't forget that May is Mental Health Awareness Month, shedding light on this exploding area of culture. With soaring rates of anxiety, depression and even suicidality showing up, especially among our kids. Let's all work together to eradicate the shame and silence and stigma around mental health and help people get the help and hope they need. Hey. And America continues her full court press toward America 250 celebrations. It's shaping up to be really something special. Let's pray to that end. Here's a great verse to hold onto this week as we Honor d Day. John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, than a man lay down his life for his friends. All this and more on this edition of Sunday. The Road Forward. Let's pray and we'll get started. God be with us. Bless our time. Use it for your glory. Thank you for our country. Help us God to all stay anchored in you, committed to truth. We love you and thank you for your goodness and grace. In Jesus name, Amen. Let's get started.

Joining Me now is Dr. Ben Carson. He's a renowned neurosurgeon, former US Secretary of Housing, Urban Development. He's a best selling author. From his groundbreaking work in medicine, to his service in public office. He's been a powerful voice for faith, family, and freedom. Dr. Carson, welcome back. Thank you for joining me.
Dr. Ben Carson
Thank you. Always glad to be with you. Thanks.
Interviewer / Host
As we get started, Dr. Carson, America 250 celebrations are coming. It's going to be something special. It's very exciting. I think people everywhere are saying America is back. And you know, the people I know, Dr. Carson, friends of ours, faith is back in America. It's something special right now. Just your thoughts or reflections on what God may be doing in our country in this moment?
Dr. Ben Carson
Well, you know, they say it's always darkest before the dawn, and things had gotten pretty dark. Complete loss of common sense and logic. And I think a lot of people kind of look down the road and they said, this is not leading us to a good place, especially a lot of the young men. And I think that's where the revival is really starting. But I think it's starting to catch on because we are a different country. We've been here for 250 years. We're a country whose very founding document says that our rights come from our creator. Our very second president said our constitution was designed for religious and moral people and is totally inadequate for the government of any other. Thomas Jefferson said that it's very important for us to remember that the church should not rule the state, but the state should not rule the church either. We have all these luminaries who are concerned about the relationship of our people with God. And even, even Benjamin Franklin at the last convention in Philadelphia when the whole thing was about to fall apart, he said, gentlemen, during the Revolutionary War, every other sentence out of your mouth was, lord, help us. Now, do you want to talk to the Lord? We need to talk to the Lord.
Interviewer / Host
Well, Dr. Carson, I know this. Bible sales are going through the roof. We're seeing revivals happening on college campuses all across the country. We know today's generations are showing up in church. Fox News reported not long ago that young men in particular under the age of 30, 42%, are now saying that their faith is important in their everyday life. Dr. Carson, we just also hosted an event in Washington, D.C. called Rededicate. 250. Kind of a kickoff where we rededicated America back to God. And it was an amazing event. I saw a report saying over 50,000 people had attended. Millions, millions upon millions were viewing it online, celebrating the goodness and grace of God in our country. Dr. Carson, I know you were there. Talk to us about the significance of that event itself. And Rededicating America.
Dr. Ben Carson
Well, you should have just seen the look on the faces as you walked around. There was people saying, like, is this happening or am I dreaming? Are we really waking up? People were so happy and so friendly, and this is who we are. You know, this is a country made of people who talk to each other, who are friends with each other, who help each other in distress, not a country of people who try to cancel you if you disagree with them. That's not our heritage. And that's why it seems so strange as we were moving in that direction. And I think there's hope for us to becoming the United States of America once again. And that's why we're concentrating at American Cornerstone so much on the young people, because that's where the indoctrination occurs. They start with the schools and they start teaching them that America is bad. America had slavery and America did this to the Indians, and just on and on that you should be ashamed of your country. And we know that there's much more good than there is bad and ugly in our country. And we need to talk about that, put those things in perspective. You know, on the issue of slavery, yes, it was horrible. But the fact of the matter is there's no society, go back as far as you want, that didn't have to deal with slavery. And so we were not exceptional in that sense, but we were exceptional in the sense that we had so many people who vehemently opposed it that we fought a bloody civil war and lost a large portion of our population to stop it. Maybe we should talk about that. Maybe we should focus on the things that really make us exceptional. And I think when you take the totality of our history, you'll be very proud of this country.
Interviewer / Host
Dr. Carson, you have recently teamed up with an interesting trio of you, Riley Gaines, an Olympic swimmer, Kirk Cameron, television personality, star, and a neurosurgeon. And you mentioned the younger generation. You really are sending a message. You put together three books with brave books just to speak into the younger generation. Tell us again about the significance of it and the messaging you've put together.
Dr. Ben Carson
Yes, well, the three of us have written books aimed at young people. Kirk Cameron, a book called Built by the Brave, talking about how our country was built by incredibly courageous individuals. The title of my book is Built on Faith, showing how faith played a very important role in the establishment of our country. And Riley Gaines wrote a book, 1, 2, 3, we are free, emphasizing the importance and the significance of freedom and how difficult it was to gain and why we should protect it and we're aiming at the young people because what does the Bible say? It says train up a child in the way he should go when he's old. He'll not depart from it. What do the Marxists say? Like Linen says, give me your children to teach for four years and the seed that I sow will never be uprooted.
Interviewer / Host
Wow.
Dr. Ben Carson
So they are sowing those seeds and we have to get in there and supplant them and really put our seeds in and water them because if we don't, we wind up with situations like we see now at some of our universities where the students are just completely illogical and, you know, supporting terrorism and doing things that are against their own best interest. And one of the things that Marxism sort of emphasizes on this on the low down, they don't want people to really know it is their need for what they call useful idiots, people who act against their own interests because they get caught up in a movement. And we have to prevent those useful idiots from being created by opposing them and telling the other side.
Interviewer / Host
Dr. Carson, are these books for mom and dad to read or share with kids at home? Are these books books you're hoping going to get in into school systems? What's the overall strategy?
Dr. Ben Carson
All the above.
Interviewer / Host
I like it.
Dr. Ben Carson
They're written with very talented artists, so the illustrations are very captivating, particularly for the very young. And then the words are there as they learn to read or as their parents, grandparents, guardians read to them. They can put it all together and start doing that at a very early age where it will be inculcated into their character.
Interviewer / Host
Dr. Ben Carson, always great to see you my friend. Please say hello to Candy. Thank you so much for joining me.
Dr. Ben Carson
I will. Thank you for being such a faithful servant.
Interviewer / Host

As we get started, we're just off the heels of Memorial Day. We're headed into June 6th where we remember D Day and everything that happened on the shores of Normandy. You, by the way, have had an amazing history of service to our country and have served our veterans and continue to do that. Tim, I wanted to say thank you and just some reflections from you as you've pondered this special season.
Dr. Tim Murphy
Yeah, this Military Appreciation Month and Memorial Day. Really important. It's also military family appreciation, all those things that go on. I always make sure I take time walk through a veteran cemetery, and I like to go to the places where there is no wreath, there's no coins that someone's placed on there, the graves that are forgotten to remind us that we can't ever forget someone who's been there. And it also is a time. And you were in the army too. You understand this. The bonds one builds, the lessons learned, are powerful lessons we carry throughout our lives. I was watching a World War II movie the other day, and it was about planes launching from aircraft carrying says. That was one of the great moments of my life, flying off an aircraft carrier and serving there and the great people aboard. So that camaraderie, that brotherhood, that sisterhood that goes on, just a valuable lesson throughout life.
Interviewer / Host
Tim. All eyes, of course, locked in on Arlington Cemetery this week as the President went there to place a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown. The speeches given by the president, Vice President J.D. vance and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth were very moving. I thought they were deeply powerful, Tim. You know, you look back a few years and, boy, some things were spinning in the wrong direction. At least my perspective, the military has become pretty woke. But if you are in this day and age, meaning in this hour, you got to feel pretty good about what we're seeing with our armed forces and the honor and dignity that I think that's been restored, it's coming back to those who have served. And as we honor those who gave the full measure of devotion.
Dr. Tim Murphy
That's right. You know, there's people who don't really understand military service and what it takes to do that. I mean, if you're going to take an oath and you're to protect and defend the Constitution in the United States, that's not talk, that's action. To protect and defend means we have to be willing to put our life in line. And that is whether one is a frontline infantry or whether one's a yeoman on a ship or someone's flipping burgers in the chow hall, everybody at some point has been gets called upon to do something there. And that being the case, it's a very careful social network there. And when politicians begin to say, well, we're going to take our social values and impose them upon the military at the detriment of the reason the military is there, you find a lot of people saying, well, why would I want to put my life on the line for that? I want to defend the Constitution of my nation, not someone's opinion of
Dr. Ben Carson
men
Dr. Tim Murphy
playing in girls sports or the like. Those aren't the things to do. So I think we have not, I think I know we've gone in the right direction. Now we are once again encouraging courage and honor and commitment and service and service above self and God and country. And that are thing, those are things that motivate someone to want to join. And that's why recruitment rates are up. That's why the mood is up, morale is up among the military because people realize we're in this for a higher good.
Interviewer / Host
Tim, I know that you also are a strong voice on the suicide crisis we've got in the military. It's such a battle. It's amazing to me access to care is so lacking, especially in our rural areas. What are, what's happening to him? What needs to be done from your perspective?
Dr. Tim Murphy
Well, a couple things. First of all, the VA, the Veterans Administration in back in 2021 began to report that the suicide rate declined from 21 a day to 17.9 a day. That's a false number. What they started doing then is they no longer counted National Guard and Reserve in their numbers. So unless someone was active duty or active war duty, they didn't count them. Now it's unfortunate because you have higher suicide rates among Guard and Reserve. And the thing about them, they're in the communities. They're not at a military base. They're the guy working next to you at work or fixing your car or doing anything. They're in that community. And what happens with the suicide rate? It also is we're looking at Vietnam veterans, the older ones, they have higher rates there. And also people who are in their first year of service tend to have higher rates with suicide and not enough counselors for them. So what's happening and the American Association Christian Counsel is a big part of this. We need people who are therapists who are trained in this field. We need mental health coaches trained in this field because not everybody who starts to have some questions needs to be sitting in an office every week. But a mental health coach is part of the community, part of the church, part of something. Just to check up and say you're doing okay asking some questions, let's get together some other people who are peers. Let's talk about these things because we know the brain is interesting. If you just leave these thoughts bouncing around in the brain like a bunch of ping pong balls, it doesn't go well. But when you start to put it into words by talking about it, by writing it down, it allows the other parts of the brain to start to make sense of this and get it under control. And those are vital parts that I always encourage people. Don't worry if you don't have an advanced degree. Learn to be a mental health coach for veterans and first responders, to be able to listen, to refer to support, to refer up. And for those therapists, when the therapist says, you know, I work with this person, we've got through the trauma issues, they still get some other issues. Then you refer them back to the coach. And that's a big important part of helping them heal, too.
Interviewer / Host
Tim, as we close, I'd love for you to speak to the families out there. Maybe someone watching right now, they. They know a veteran, a loved one that's struggling, that really has kind of lost their fight and their concern. What can. And what, what. What should they do?
Dr. Tim Murphy
Ask, talk to them. Never think, well, maybe that person doesn't want to talk to me. That person may actually be thinking, maybe nobody cares. I did this. And everybody looks away. It's sort of like when someone has scars or maybe missing a hand or leg. People say, I'm not going to look at that. Well, these are invisible scars of war when it comes to emotional trauma and other issues there. And if you see that person withdrawn and not engaged and struggling with their family, maybe some problems with anger or sadness or depression, that's the time you should ask and even to say, are you okay? Is there anything I can do to help? Thank you for what you've done, or tell me about what you've done. I'd love to hear about that more. But show a genuine interest, not a passing thing. One of the great things I've learned is that when someone says, thank you for your service, instead of saying, okay, you're welcome, you say, you were worth it, and you open up a conversation, what do you mean I was worth it? Well, I did these things because it's because of you. Well, you don't even know me. That's right. We don't know the people we defend, but that's what we do. And with. As you talk to someone who's in the service and you raise those questions, don't just say thank you for your service, to say, I appreciate what you did for me. Can you tell me some of the things you did? And I really didn't do much, you know, I fixed trucks, things like that. Yeah, well, if you don't fix the trucks, people can't ride in them or whatever that is. Show an interest. That is such a very, very powerful way of having that connection within them because they want to feel part of that community.
Interviewer / Host
Again, Tim, if people want to learn more about you and this world of helping veterans and more, where can they go?
Dr. Tim Murphy
Well, I have a website, DrTimurphy.com that's DrTimmerphy.com and on there I have a link to the the course through Light University of how to become a Mental Health coach for veterans and first responders. I really encourage people to take that. Even you say, I'm not sure I want to be a coach. But in those 24 lectures and I must say a lot of them really good, maybe not the ones with me really good. It gives people a real sense of what they can do to learn skill sets and be empowered to out and help someone.

Yeah. Dr. Tim Murphy, thank you for your service and thank you for joining me.

Shauna May is a very significant month in mental health. It's called Mental Health Awareness Month. One of the things that's been really obvious in culture is that we don't just have a mental health crisis, we've got a mental health disaster. A lot of people are talking about soaring rates of anxiety. I know I'm seeing it everywhere. Depression seems to be off the charts. What's scary is suicidality seems to be increasing. And Shauna, people will check a box and say, especially among our kids, that's really concerning. I don't know what it is. That's the confluence of a lot of factors. But Shauna, just some reflections from you on what we're seeing in culture and your concerns, maybe thoughts about what we need to be thinking in and through.
Dr. Tim Clinton
Yes. I think ever since COVID is really when I noticed a massive upswing in terms of mental health disorders, especially anxiety and depression. Because we know that the social isolation has just been a killer and in some ways literally that we've seen an increase in anxiety and depression and Substance use disorders and trauma and so much, and people are really hurting. And I think everything that's going on in the country and we hear wars and rumors of wars and just there is so much chaos. I think right now people feel very unsettled and it is absolutely affecting their mood. I think that the only way that we can find any peace right now is with Jesus. It's just so unstable out here.
Interviewer / Host
You know, a lot of people feel embarrassed if they talk about mental health related issues. And there's a lot of what we call silence. There's a lot of shaming around mental health and there's stigma associated with it. Although today's generations are more likely to go for counseling than, say, their moms and dads, and that's a great thing. We still have a real challenge, especially in the church, on mental health. Shauna, what do you think contributes to that and how do you think we get beyond that?
Dr. Tim Clinton
Well, first of all, I think we have a generational split. I think that the younger generation really is very open about their mental health struggles. They almost think kind of take them on as an identity, whereas I think the older generations, like us, we're still operating a little bit by, you know, pull yourself up by your bootstraps. So I think that's a piece of it. But I also think what's going on in the church is really a belief that if you have Jesus and you're praying enough and you're studying his word enough, then that should be sufficient. And it's really ignoring that. There are a lot of other factors that may contribute to a lot of mental health issues. And so while we all need Jesus, we all need his word. We also need to recognize that a lot of times there are people that are really struggling in silence, as you mentioned, and are ashamed to say, you know what, I can't get out of bed in the morning, or I'm having nightmares and insomnia and I'm really struggling. I can't leave the house.
Interviewer / Host
And.
Dr. Tim Clinton
And while they may be praying and praying and studying God's word, it's not that Jesus isn't enough. It's that a lot of times you need a mental health professional to step in, to be his hands and feet here, to be able to love on and really help assess and treat these individuals.
Interviewer / Host
Interestingly enough, Shauna, a lot of people seek mental health care and they wind up getting, say, put on some type of medication. You and I know that medication can be very helpful. I've seen it. It's been amazing. Some People who have kind of biochemical related issues. It can be miraculous, really. I would say God ordained type work. At the other end of the spectrum, we've seen people being placed on medication, probably didn't need to be on it. You know what I'm saying? It was so it's just like something they were just trying to frantically figure out. Can we get some relief going here? Shauna, in the midst of all this, we're seeing some real controversy or debate around SSRIs, medications that are primarily oriented toward treating depression, anxiety type things. Can you address what's happening there and some of the concerns associated with SSRIs?
Dr. Tim Clinton
Absolutely. There is a major battle going on right now on this issue. There was a study that came out in 2022 that actually investigated this serotonin kind of the neurotransmitter hypothesis for depression, where the belief is that if you've got low serotonin levels, you take these SSRIs and that's going to improve your depression. That that is what depression is about, is low serotonin. Yet the research is showing that in fact may not be the case. That may be the case for some individuals, but not for all. And so we've got that going on. But we're also seeing a lot of people are having profound, profound issues coming off these medications where they are really, really struggling. And so we are beginning to question what is going on with these medications. They were really originally supposed to address depression for six to 12 months, but we're very aware that a lot of people are taking them for five to 10 or longer years upon that. And what we're now finding out is that it may not just be a brain disorder, that depression, anxiety are actually more systemic. We're identifying that has a lot to do with the whole body, the mind, body, spirit, that it's not just a chemical in the brain. But in fact it's tying to gut issues, to inflammation, that it's tying to hormones, that it has a lot to do with what we're eating, the environment where we live. It's tied into trauma, which we know can absolutely have an effect on these things. And so it's really kind of opening up an understanding of what is underneath a lot of our mental health diagnoses, that it's a lot more than just a very simple hypothesis that we're short on a single neurotransmitter.
Interviewer / Host
I remember early on in my career, Shauna, Dr. Frank Minnorth, Dr. Paul Meyer and others leading pioneering psychiatrists, they would place A strong emphasis on med management. They said, tim, listen, you need to have somebody monitor this because a lot of it is, quote, just trial and error, if you will. Are we getting symptom relief or what have you, but. Or it may take a little while for medications to work, et cetera. But having a good mental health provider track with you as a client, what's happening? Are you seeing any gains? Are you seeing any negative effects? Or maybe even a spouse just checking up with family members? What are you seeing happening? That is all valuable information, But I remember Dr. Minra saying this to me, Shauna. And I think this may be kind of bow ties, what we were talking about. He said, tim, yes, medication matters, but medication can't give you hope. Only Christ can give you hope. And I thought, you know what, Dr. Minrith, that's profound. At the end of the day, our hope is in God, our relationship with him. And so as we help, people press in toward him and this relationship, peace, both vertically and horizontally with each other, that's where our hope, our strength comes from. In the midst of life's storms. Shauna, I want to give you a closing word here to those out there who may be struggling. Maybe they have a loved one who's really battling mental health issues and they're a little battle weary, battle torn, or what have you. Encouragement, hope, direction.
Dr. Tim Clinton
I love the word hope, and I think that's so important to identify and to recognize there is always hope. And we know hope comes in the name of Jesus Christ, but that for a lot of people who are really hurting, I think in the moment they feel like they have no hope. And it's important to remember feelings come and feelings go and that things are always going to be better the next day. And even if you're struggling with a severe mental health disorder, it is important to surround yourself with friends, with people, with mental health professionals that can also give you hope, that even when things look dire, there is always hope in the next day.
Interviewer / Host
We're learning so much about disorders. We're learning so much about prescriptive treatment plans or strategies to help people with differing disorders. They're all different. And the uniquenesses of individuals, whether their body response or what have you, all these dynamics play together. Shauna, that's bringing a lot of light into the darkness. And at the end of the day, if you got somebody who anchors all that in a personal, vibrant relationship with God and then through Jesus Christ, what hope we really do have, no matter what's coming against us, hey, we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Dr. Shawn A. Anderson, always great to see you. Thank you for joining me.
Dr. Tim Clinton
Thank you.

Joining me now is Bishop Calvin Koberis. He currently serves as lead pastor of New Life Church International in Plant City, Florida. He's a member of the National Faith Advisory Board, a strong voice for righteousness and culture. Bishop, welcome back. Thank you for joining me.
Bishop Calvin Cobarus
Good morning, Dr. Clarence. Thank you for having me.
Interviewer / Host
As we get started, so much going on in our country right now. But, Bishop, we're in that kind of season where we are remembering that freedom isn't free and we're honoring our war dead. And we're going into this week remembering and honoring those who served on D Day on the shores of Normandy and gave their life for our country and more. But, Bishop, just some thoughts from you about those who gave the full measure of devotion and their families.
Bishop Calvin Cobarus
Well, as I think about this Memorial Day weekend, it means so much to me because one of the greatest sacrifices that one can make to put their lives on the line for anyone's liberty and freedom. And that's exactly what the men and women and the heroes have done in past for us. And we celebrate that while people go for cookouts and go to the beach, it's really a time to reflect upon the price that was paid for the America that we have today and the prosperity and the peace and protection that we enjoy.
Interviewer / Host
Kind of as a kickoff, if you will, to America. 250, Bishop There was an event in Washington on the National Mall. It was called Rededicate 250. Faith leaders came from all over the country. More than 50,000 people joined together on site. It was beautiful. It was stunning. It was encouraging. There was a lot of energy. Bishop, you had the opportunity to get up there and speak, say a word, too. And what a privilege. What an honor. Bishop, as we rededicate America back to God, our rights don't come from government. They come from God himself. If you understand that piece, you get this great. You get this great experiment called America.
Bishop Calvin Cobarus
Yes. And I thank God to have a leader that recognizes that, that we're one nation under God and that this nation needs to rededicate itself back to that God. And the atmosphere of that gathering that day was humbling. It was energetic. And to be asked to speak out of the many great voices and origins in America, to be given a few moments to say something was humbling and honorable to me. But equally, it gave me an opportunity to share my heart. And my heart is that we don't get stuck in the past. We don't get stuck in the darkness of different eras. But we look at the opportunity that we have now to join together with common ground and love around this country and move it forward as one nation under God.
Interviewer / Host
Bishop A lot of people are saying not just America's back. Faith is back in America. People are saying Bible sales are going through the roofs. The younger generations are showing up in church. They're in church. You've got young men saying, listen, my faith is important to me. What 42% of men under the age of 30 are saying their faith is significant in their everyday life. Bishop College revivals are happening all across the country. Again, go back to rededicate America. You saw that. I mean, millions of people tuned in to that event, millions all over the country and around the globe. Something stirring. God is moving. What's your prayer for America?
Bishop Calvin Cobarus
Something is stirring. God is moving. I'm seeing it all over the universe. Just a church near me had a mass baptism at the beach just yesterday where they had so many converts come to the Lord that they had to take everybody to the beach and baptize them there. My message to America is don't you be fooled by the noise. Don't you be distracted by the dark things that are happening around us. Christ is king. He is Lord. He sits on the throne. He rules and super rules in our heart. And as we are, his light in the earth shining bright. That's what will draw men to the conclusion that Christ is the only hope and he's the only way.
Interviewer / Host
Bishop A lot of people are saying, listen, we need to be concerned too, because hell hates anything that smacks of righteousness. When people of faith begin to organize and come together, you know all hell's going to push back against it. Bishop There are a lot of attempts to quote, confuse, divide, create chaos. People are targeting people of faith, et cetera. In this hour, what's your words to people about standing and holding the line, if you will?
Bishop Calvin Cobarus
People of God, if you abide in him and his Word abide in you, we ask what we will and desire, and it shall be done. And what I'm saying by that is, in this hour, there are a lot of different conclusions and theories about what we should believe, what we should embrace, what we should hold on to. But I want to let you know you need to hold the line on the truth. Even if people that you sit up under that articulate truth to you, if they go off the line with it and they're not so right about it, you better know the truth for yourself. It's telling that you're your self improved so that you and your family can uphold God's word, the values that we believe, and that's what makes this country great. Simply by us submitting to being a nation under God. And despite all of the clues and confusions that are going on around us, let us stand on the truth that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Interviewer / Host
Bishop, we all know too, that there's a real battle for the heart and soul, the minds of our children, today's generations. We need a new generation to rise up and not bow the knee. I know you and I are very concerned about this effort. What are we going to do? What's your challenge or your concerns to culture, to people of faith, the faith leaders, to pastors, and more about today's generations?
Bishop Calvin Cobarus
I want to say to the faith leaders and cultural leaders today, we cannot afford to ignore this generation in our communities. Right now, they're having what is called teen invasions, where they're invading businesses and properties and reaping havoc, tearing things up just to be out of control, which is a message that idle time is the devil's workshop. We need to ensure that our young people don't have idle time to be distracted and pulled in by this culture. But we need to make sure that our doors are open, our gyms are open, and that opportunities exist from the community of faith to make sure that our young people are shaped in righteousness and in Christ values.
Interviewer / Host
Bishop, before we go, you're no stranger to pain and suffering. I know you recently lost your mother, which really impacted you. But you've had a lot of people come against you. You've had some pushback, especially as you're trying to find and strengthen your voice in this hour, Bishop, a lot of people around us, there's some battle fatigue. It gets old. You know that. And when you're getting targeted and doxxed and, by the way, maligned for stuff that it's just, like, ridiculous, you know, that people don't even care what they say or do up on social media anymore. They could care less. They lie. It's just. It's brutal. But stay the course. Finish the race, if you will. Bishop, what is God saying to you? How do you keep yourself encouraged? And what do you say to those out there who are kind of looking at this thing and thinking, God, give me strength, help me.
Bishop Calvin Cobarus
What encouraged me, Dr. Clinton, is the fruit. Yeah, we go through the canceling and the defamation and all of the desolation and doom that people try to bring against you. But when I look at the fruit, when I look at the lives that are changing, the people that look at things from a different perspective because we use our voices to lift up truth and to lift up the name of Christ. It's worth it all. It's worth it to have the battle wounds and the scars when you see that the outcome is that people finally come to true, finally come to the knowledge, finally come to the point that they're moving in the right direction. Yes, I've lost a lot. But I've gained even more by submitting myself to God, submitting myself to his calling for my life. And I'm ready to roll. I'm ready to take it to another level as we continue to stand for Him.
Interviewer / Host

Hey, in closing, these are unprecedented times or difficult times, but I know this. God's in control and he's at work. I hope you're pressing close to him in his heart. Know that God loves you and that he wants to be in your life. Our hope, our strength comes from the Lord. Again, here's that verse to hold onto this week as we remember and honor those this d day. John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends help. You know too that you can look to God for wisdom and direction in your everyday life life. Let me also say this though. I've learned as a professional counselor that it's normal to have concern, maybe fear, worry, especially when things aren't the way they're supposed to be. Also know if you're not careful, it can begin to consume you, control you, sees, lose perspective, maybe even hope. It can get so dark for some that they feel like life would be better off without them. I say this every week. You don't have to live like that. Simply taking a step, reaching out for help. It's often the gateway to a new day or a new you. And if you or someone you love is struggling, do that. Reach out for help. There are wonderful counselors and pastors who care who can help you find the hope and the answers that you're looking for. And there are a lot of wonderful resources. Love to connect you with some of those. You can go up on our website@aacc.net or check out our brand new website Christian Care Connect. Christian Care Connect For a mental health provider in your area who loves God. If you don't have a personal relationship with God, you can do that right now by asking him to come into your life. Ask him to forgive you of your sin and ask him to be your Lord and Savior. You can simply do that from praying a prayer from your heart to God's heart. Pray this prayer after me if you want to do that right now. Lord Jesus, I need you. I know I'm a sinner and I believe you died for my sin. I want to turn from them and invite you to come into my heart, my life. I want to trust you and follow you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for loving me, for giving your life on the cross for me. Thank you forgiveness and for eternal life. I pray all this in Jesus name. Amen. You know what the Bible says in Romans 10:9? If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and you believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead. Let me do it again. You know what the Bible says in Romans 10:9? It says that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Best thing you can do now is tell someone and go live for God for the rest of your life. He'll give you the strength to do it. I believe that if you're struggling with hopelessness, you can say, tim, it's dark. I'm stuck. I can't get out of this rut. I hope you'll pick up the phone right now and talk to someone. Maybe call the suicide hotline 988. Just dial 9. 8. That's the National Suicide prevention Lifeline. Hey, before we go, maybe God's gifted you with a heart to help other people.
