Ahead on American Sunrise, President Trump hits pause on new strikes against Iran that were planned for today. The big question, will it be days or weeks? More importantly, is a deal finally within reach, or could the conflict escalate? Plus, Cuba's president, Miguel Diaz Canal warns of a bloodbath if the US Takes military action. So how far could this situation escalate? And then later, the Justice Department cuts a deal involving President Trump's IRS lawsuit. Instead of $10 billion of your tax money being at stake now, it's just 1.7 billion. You'll have to stick around, though, to find out what that money would be earmarked for. Those stories and so much more right now on American Sunrise.

Good morning, everyone. Thank you so much for tuning in to American Sunrise. I'm Emily Finn, filling in today for Dr. Gina live from West Palm Beach. Let's bring in David brody in Washington, D.C. and Terrence Bates in our Denver newsroom. Good morning, you guys. Terrence. Lots of big news to get to this morning.
Terrence Bates
Oh, my goodness. There's so much to talk about. So let's just start with this Associated Press headline, which reads, Justice Department announces $1.7 billion to compensate Trump allies. And in a deal to drop the IRS lawsuit The fund would cover money to pay President Trump's allies. All of this, as you just saw there in the headline, is part of a deal for President Trump to drop his $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS over the agency leaking his tax return. You know, when I hear numbers like $1.7 billion, David and Emily and I think at how high our national debt is right now, it gives me pause, and particularly when it comes to private individuals potentially getting taxpayer dollars. Your thoughts, though, Emily, on all of this and on that headline?
Emily Finn
Yeah, I will say, Terrence, I think I have the exact same thoughts as you. That is a huge, huge number. And there are so many things that the American people really do need our taxpayer money to be spent on. David, want to kind of divert to you on this. This is just kind of over my head. I will say. I can't even fathom a number like that.
David Brody
There is so much to unpack here. By the way, that number is 1.776 billion. Done on purpose to be patriotic, because President Trump wants to see people that were victimized based on politicization of the Biden administration. He wants them to be compensated, whether it be legal fees or Otherwise. We're talking January 6th, folks, and many others. Sounds good. Good on the surface until you kind of get into the details. And actually, really, Emily and Terence, when you start to get into the hypotheticals, if we're going to go down this road. Okay, let's go down this road for a second. It's now 2029, and hold your close your eyes and ears and all that. And Gavin Newsom is president of the United States, and he has now started a fund with taxpayer dollars, and he directs his Attorney General, Keith Ellison or Letitia James, to go ahead and start to compensate victims of, for example, pro Palestinian protesters who were wronged at those protests, teachers at universities that were basically maligned by the Trump administration, climate activists, abortion providers. It goes down the line. This is scary. Listen, in the short term, I get it. Do I want folks regarding January 6th to be compensated for legal fees? Absolutely, I do. But there are private organizations to do that. I am concerned about when the government starts to get into the business of who's a victim and who's not and who's appointing people. Exactly. This board would be five people by the Justice Department, picked by Todd Blanche. I don't know. I've got some real problems with the Devil's in the details here, guys.
Emily Finn
Yeah, I guess we'll have to wait and see how all of this plays out here.
Terrence Bates
Terrence I've got serious concerns about all of this as well. You know, I'll just leave it at this. If you feel like you've been wronged by the government, sue the government. But I don't want to sue the government. Sue the government. If you win, you get your money. Cool. But, you know, we're just setting aside $1.7 billion. That just doesn't sit well with me. You know, I'm cheap anyway. So I'm sorry, I like to call it a fiscal conservative y but I'm cheap. That's ultimately what it comes down to. And so when I see those sorts of numbers floated around, as you say, it gives me belly. It gives me a belly ache. Makes me want to in my mouth. Anyway, go ahead.
David Brody
I think we can certainly.
Terrence Bates
Would you give us our Bible verse, please?
Emily Finn
Yes, we can certainly pray for our politicians that they are using our taxpayer money in the best way possible. So we will check out our Bible verse. It comes from First Corinthians 13:12 and reads, for now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know, just as I also am known. Beautiful way to start the day. President Trump says planned strikes against Iran today are now delayed at the request of Middle Eastern leaders in hopes of a deal getting reached. Trump posted on True Social saying, I have instructed Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Daniel Kaine, and the United States military that we will not be doing the scheduled attack of Iran tomorrow, but have further instructed them to be prepared to go forward with a full large scale assault of Iran on a moment's notice in the event that an acceptable deal is not reached. Let's now bring in Missouri Congressman Mark Alford. Congressman, thank you so much for being with us this morning. How soon do you think we could see a deal?
Congressman Mark Alford
Well, thank you, Emily, Terence and David, good to be back with you. Well, I hope as soon as possible. This thing is just keep dragging on, but I understand the maximum pressure that President Trump is trying to place on these individuals, whoever they are in charge and going through Pakistan and trying to get to these leaders and then get a message back. You know, it's not like they're on sophisticated communication platforms where they can directly talk to one another. We don't even know who's running Iran right now. And so I think President Trump's trying to do the best he can to reach a settlement where he doesn't have to really blow Iran off the face of the map and we can regain or capture control that nuclear product that they have enriched past 60%. We can open the Straits of Hormuz and get the Middle east operating once again.
David Brody
Yeah. Congressman, let's go from Iran to Cuba for a moment. This CNN headline kind of gave us pause. Well, I should say gave us pause, but kind of. I was like, wait, what? Cuba's president warns of bloodbath if US Takes military action. Really? Bloodbath here in the United States, You, Cuba. All right, so you want to unpack this for us because you wonder if Cuba is going to become the next Venezuela at this point.
Congressman Mark Alford
Well, look, we know that Cuba's had problems since the 1950s. We know that they are stuck in the 50s. Basically. They do have some armaments. Apparently they have drones, and they are, you know, only 90 miles from Florida. And so they're now threatening to use these drones to attack America. We'll see what happens. I know that Marco Rubio, our Secretary of State, is very much entwined with trying to reach some sort of solution to the Cuba problem. But Cuba's also seen what we can do as a nation, what we did with Venezuela, to go in and really in the middle of the night and capture, arrest, detain legally a president there who was on the bad side of the law, basically. And they know that we had the capability. So that is, again, the maximum pressure that this administration is applying to try to right things in our Western Hemisphere. Now is the time if we are going to try to make things right in the Western Hemisphere, to keep China at bay, kick them out and their influence. This is the time.
Terrence Bates
Congressman, while so much of the administration's focus is abroad, be it Iran, be it Cuba, be it China, there's also a lot of work happening domestically. Yesterday, the vice president was in your district there in Kansas City. He was visiting a manufacturing plant. One of the things he really touted was how well this administration has done in terms of bringing manufacturing back to the United States and incentivizing companies. Talk about the impact that you're seeing there in your specific district, specifically since the vice President was there at that manufacturing plant in Kansas City.
Congressman Mark Alford
Yeah, it was really great for Vice President J.D. vance to come to Kansas City yesterday. We have. We have a long storied history of manufacturing, starting with the Model T. We were the first in 1911 to manufacture the Model T away from Detroit, churning out more than 100 a day. GM had a big plant here. There are many companies who chose to stay here, including Milbanks Manufacturing, which makes electrical equipment. And while so many other places have turned to China for cheap labor and goods, companies like Milbanks have stayed true. And that's why President Vice President Vance wanted to come here and tout their success. It was a packed house. I was honored to speak there as well. President Trump is returning manufacturing to America. We are making Made in the USA a proud moniker once again. When we grew up, Terrence and David, I know you remember the tags that we would have in clothing, proudly Made in the usa Walmart started out. Everything was made in the United States of America. You couldn't find anything made in China or any other place in a Walmart. We are getting back to that. President Trump is leading the way with the tariff pressure that he has put forth since his first day in office. It has really pressured other countries to get on board. Let's, let's talk about fair trade and start building things back in America. And that's what we're doing.
Emily Finn
Absolutely. Congressman, I do want to completely switch gears here with you for a second. I've been asking everyone about this lately. The UAP files tell us what you know and what you expect to be released soon. The president, people on social media said he may have a speech prepared talking about extra restrial life. I mean, this is something that I'm really invested in. Tell me you know something.
Congressman Mark Alford
Well, for David and Terrence reference once again, I'll do my Sergeant Schultz. I know nothing. I did not go into the skiffs to learn about aliens, UFOs or UAPs. My good friend Eric Burleson did in Springfield. He's a rep down there and works with me up in Washington. He did. He's kind of leading the charge on this to try to get these files released. I didn't want to go in because if I knew, if I found out this top secret information and I couldn't share it, I think I would go crazy. I think it's time. If there is something out there, the president knows that now is the time. I think in full transparency, the most transparent, I think, administration in my lifetime, now's the time. I think people can handle it. If there are other entities out there, we've got to look at it from a national security standpoint, too. And if this is the case where there are other entities out there and it is a national security concern, Congress needs to be involved in that, in oversight, in funding for the mechanisms. We need to either communicate or keep these entities under control, if we can.
Emily Finn
Well, I'm going to keep asking the questions even, even if there's a little chuckles here and there, I do think it is.
Congressman Mark Alford
I want to know too.
Terrence Bates
But
Congressman Mark Alford
you know, it's one of those things that just sounds so crazy, so unbelievable that it almost is comical. But is a very serious issue and we need to take it seriously.
Emily Finn
I completely agree.
David Brody
That impression was on point, by the way. Impressive, Danka.
Emily Finn
All right. Congressman Mark Elfer, thank you so much for your time. We really appreciate you being here with us.
Terrence Bates
Thanks, Congressman.

Join today together we can right the course of America. President Trump says a major attack on Iran that was planned for today is being delayed because American allies in the Gulf region believe Iran is close to signing a deal. The commander in chief says leaders from Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates are among those who are asking to push the planned attack back several days in order to give Iran more time to sign an agreement that includes the Islamic regime having no nuclear weapon. It's a very positive development, but we'll see whether or not it amounts to anything.
David Brody

Terrence Bates
let Iran have a nuclear weapon. Meantime, the commander of the U.S. central Command, which, of course is overseeing operations in the Middle east, is out with a highlight video praising the work that's being done by American troops in the current Face off with Iran. Here's Admiral Bradley Cooper or Brad Cooper's message to his troops. It's long been my belief that every success we have begins and ends with our people.
Senator Chris Van Hollen
There is no adversary too determined, no
Terrence Bates
mission too difficult, and no task too great for our soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, guardians and coast guards. And during a call to a campaign rally for Representative Andy Barr in Kentucky on Monday, President Trump doubled down on his contention that Iran wants the war to end soon. He also told the crowd that gas prices will plummet as soon as the conflict ends. Speaking of Kentucky, it's Election Day there as President Trump and his administration are taking aim at Congressman Thomas Massie. From President Trump to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Massie is in the crosshairs as he faces a primary challenge from Trump endorsed Ed Galerian on Monday. Secretary Hagseth shared the stage with Gowrean, who is a former Navy SEAL.
David Brody
We already have plenty of talkers in D.C. plenty of consultants, plenty of bureaucrats, plenty of career politicians who've never carried a responsibility heavier than a committee hearing. Not enough war fighters, not enough men who've actually had to make those hard decisions under pressure. Not enough leaders who understanding service before self about being on a team, about leading and about following. And that's why this race matters. And that's why I'm proud here to stand with Ed Gelrein.
Terrence Bates
Make sure you stay tuned to Real America's Voice for live coverage of the primary between Thomas Massie and Edgar Ryan. Massie, by the way, is one of several incumbent Republicans President Trump is looking to unseat due to their opposition to his policies. That's a quick check of your headlines. We'll have more headlines coming your way in a little bit, but now let's get a quick check of your Forecast Weather Nation meteorologist Tracy Anthony standing by with more on what can you expect. So, Tracy, it's back to being a little chilly here in the Denver area. But the good news is now take the chilly weather. We're getting so much rain, my grass finally looks like grass again. It is green and very happy. So I'm okay with it.
Dr. Gina
That is, you know, great news for Colorado because the drought has been so bad areas of Southern California, not the same situation yesterday. This is the Sandy fire. That was a brush fire that spread very rapidly in LA county and impacting residents of Thousand Oaks, California. You can see the smoke there. The smoke is still pretty dense. So we do have some air quality alerts that are in place across the LA metro area. Now, if we kind of zoom out, talk about what's going on from coast to coast, the east is baking in the heat. So, Terrence, you mentioned the cooler temperatures. We're doing the opposite. Out east areas like D.C. having a record warm temperature yesterday of 95 degrees. And it's not just warm, it's also humid. So it's pretty uncomfortable there. We do have some fire danger that lingers across the four corners. And we have two more days of severe weather outlooks before we finally see that severe weather threat calm down after tracking outlooks day after day since last week. So we're kind of at, we're kind of seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, I should say. But still some strong storms working across Missouri, Oklahoma into Arkansas here to start off the day. But border to border is that severe weather threat throughout the afternoon. So widespread wind will be the biggest concern. And then into Wednesday, the severe weather threat decreases. But we'll still track it from Boston down through D.C. and then back across West Texas. So still some activity. But the threats we've been tracking, Terrence, the last couple of days definitely starting to wind down some.
Terrence Bates
All right. And that's why we need to download that weather app, that Weather Nation app. That way you can stay up to date on anything that's happening, weather wise. Always good to see you. We'll check in with you next hour for a quick look at our hometown forecast.
Dr. Gina
Sounds good. See you then. Don't forget, if you're not in the social chats, that's where you drop your hometown and I'll give you a forecast.
Terrence Bates
All right. Looking forward to it. Thanks so much, Tracy. Up next, President Trump pauses planned strikes against Iran, giving diplomacy a new opening. So is a deal to end the war finally within reach, or is Tehran just talking out the side of their neck. We'll talk about it right after the break.

Drew, our director. Thank you for putting up Cleveland, Ohio this morning. I am a big New York Knickerbocker fan. Game one tonight, Knicks in Cleveland. Not in Cleveland, at the Garden. I'm from New York. Let's go, Knicks. I think I just ticked off everybody in Ohio and I want to apologize for that. Welcome back, folks, to American Sunrise. All right, as we mentioned earlier in the show, President Trump says planned strikes against Iran today. Well, they're now delayed at the request of Middle Eastern leaders in hopes of getting a deal. Reach Trump posted on Truth Social the following I've instructed Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff General Daniel Kaine and the United States military, along with T. Bates, that we will not be doing the scheduled attack of Iran tomorrow, but have further instructed them to be prepared to go forward with a full large scale assault on Iran on a moment's notice in the event that an acceptable deal is not reached. All right, let's bring in the former executive director Varanian, Americans for Liberty. That would be Brian Leib. Brian. Well, I guess we're getting another delay. I mean, you got to give President Trump some credit here, though. I mean, ultimately, you know, he's trying to give peace a chance, as John Lennon would say, but with these nutsos nutcases in Iran, good luck. I mean, eventually they're going to finally come into contact, I think, with bridge and power plant day. Good morning.
Brian Leib
Good morning, David. And to the audience, you're exactly correct. Listen, President Trump and his administration, you know, have always, you know, looked to diplomacy as the first salvo to fire from the United States of America. Unfortunately, diplomacy does not work with terrorists. It works with other countries. And that's why we've seen President Trump reach historic peace deals like between Pakistan and India, Azerbaijan in Armenia, and so many others. Those were rational players, rational actors. The Iranians are not rational in any way, shape or form. So that's why I have always maintained the opinion that diplomacy with the regime in Tehran, old, new, whoever they call themselves today, you know, it's just really never going to work. But thank God President Trump and his team have been committed to trying to find a diplomatic resolution. I just think we're going to get there, guys. It's like shoving a square peg into a round hole over and over and over again. And I don't. I just don't think we're going to get there with them.
Nicholas Hoelscher
Agreed.
Terrence Bates
Yeah. Brian, I've been trying to reconcile all of this using reason, and I'm not so sure one can apply reason to people who are unreasonable. So let me kind of walk you through my thinking, and I'd like you to correct me where I'm wrong or at least hopefully get me back on track. You've got countries like Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, the Saudi Arabia and Iran, of course, practice different sects, if you will, of Islam and have been at odds, but still, they are Muslims. You've got these countries asking the United States, okay, hold off for a little bit. We think that they're ready to reach a deal. When I hear that kind of thing, particularly after so long, after we've given Iran so many opportunities to reach a deal and they have failed to. It gives me pause, and we've been using that word a lot today, but I just don't trust that they're really negotiating in good faith. And I almost get the feeling that they may be working in cahoots with some of these other countries behind the scenes in order to potentially harm the United States. I don't get it. I don't get pushing this off, particularly at the behest of some of these countries that we believe are allies, but really only have their own interests at heart. And let me just add one more thing. I'm sorry, I know this is a long, drawn out question, but you've got the United Arab Emirates coming in and saying, yeah, push it back, even though Iran is continuing to attack it. It doesn't make sense to me. That's, I guess, ultimately the point. It just doesn't make sense to me. Walk me off the ledge.
Congressman Mark Alford
I'm with you on that.
Brian Leib
You know, when I saw that post from the president, I kind of had to look at it and my head tilted a little bit and trying to understand what it meant. But, Terrence, here's what I'll say. President Trump is a master at misdirection. We've seen that time and time again with him. And typically, when he says one thing, he weaves to the left or weaves to the right and does something differently. I have a hard time believing that the Emiratis or the Qataris or the Saudis are actually rooting for the Iranians to survive this in any way, shape or form. Don't forget, it was, you know, just throughout the last two months now where the Iranians have hit the Emiratis very hard. They've hit the Saudis hard. And just in the last week or so, both the Saudis and the Emiratis have hit back with kinetic action. You don't hear that talked about in the media here at all. But that's the truth. That's the reality. Both of those countries did hit back from a military perspective. So I'm wondering if this post from the president is really just a little bit of misdirection, trying to throw the dog off the scent a little bit, the dog, obviously, being the Islamic Republic of Iran, because I think that the president is deeply committed to making sure this regime is gone once and for all, making sure that they never do obtain a nuclear weapon or the capabilities to enrich uranium ever again. And we all know, Terrence, the Iranians will never give up their ambitions to have a nuclear weapon and to enrich uranium. So they have a red line. We have a red line. President Trump's not going to cross that red line.
Emily Finn
Also, Brian, Iran has submitted a revised proposal to the United States through Pakistani mediators. As diplomatic efforts to end the conflict continue. Reports say major gaps remain between the two sides, including over sanctions relief, security guarantees, and nuclear terms. Want to get your thoughts on this?
Brian Leib
Yeah, I think it's interesting the Iranians, Emily, continue to share these proposals with us. And as I just mentioned, you know, our red line in all of our negotiations and any kind of deal that we potentially could, could make with the Iranian regime is the fact that they will never have a nuclear weapon and they will never have the capabilities ever again to enrich uranium. That is our red line. And on the flip side, the Iranians have said things like, oh, well, we'll reopen the Strait of Hormuz and we'll do this and we'll do that. But they can't seem to get past the fact that they're never going to be able to enrich uranium and have a nuclear weapon. And that's, you know, there's a lot of things happening here right behind the scenes. From the Iranian perspective, you hear a lot of conversation about new regime, old regime, rational actors in Iran. Listen, they're all the same ilk, they're all part of the irgc. And I don't think that they have any interest in making any kind of deal with us. Time has shown us over the last 40 some odd years as this regime has been in power that they're never interested in diplomacy, they're never interested in talking. But when they are talking, it's really just a delay and buy time for other things. So that's my read on this.
David Brody
Yeah, it's amazing.
Terrence Bates
That's the concern. What other things? I'm sorry, David, but that's my concern. Like they're buying time. I think most of us believe that. But what are they planning? Like what's happening behind the scenes? Are they still enriched? Like what's going on here? What are they buying time for at this point?
Brian Leib
Well, you know, perhaps they're moving assets around. I mean, a lot of, a lot of our Operation Epic Fury campaign over the last two months with our Israeli counterparts really did decimate most of the irgc, most of the missile sites, most of the bases and really their infrastructure. But I will say there's a part of Iran which is northeastern part, it borders Afghanistan, it's called Mashhad. Listen, it's no secret. That's where all of the IRGC is hiding out right now. That's where the vast majority of the regime is hiding out right now. And I think that if the president were to take Connecticut action again, and it is my belief that he is going to very soon, soon we're going to have to go to that other side of Iran because that's really where the IRGC is holding up. That's where their missiles still are. They probably still have 20, 30% of their missile capability at this point. So I think, listen, this is all very strategic, a lot of moving parts here. I don't have any more information than you guys do. But one thing is for sure, I think President Trump is laser focused and committed in making sure that this regime doesn't have the capabilities to sow the chaos that they have been for the last 40 years.
Nicholas Hoelscher

Welcome back to American Sunrise. A beautiful shot of Myrtle beach this morning. Looks like it's going to be a really, really nice day there. Thank you so much to all of our viewers for joining us this morning. Time now for today's health news. Sponsored by the wellness company and under the microscope today, a hantavirus stricken cruise ship has docked in Rotterdam for disinfection after an outbreak Killed three people and sickened others. Health officials say Andy's hantavirus, a rare strain that can spread person to person in close contact settings. The ship is expected to undergo about three days of decontamination before officials clear it to return to service. So are we on the verge of another plan? Demic? Is the hype real? Should we be worried? Is this just another effort to terrorize Americans before an election? Who can we trust? That's where the Wellness Company comes in. You see and hear from TWC doctors all the time on this network and you know that their products are the gold standard for keeping you and your family safe and healthy. The Wellness Company gives you the opportunity to make sure that you are prepared for whatever happens with their series of prescription medical kits, kits that contain an assortment of life saving medications and guidebooks to assist in the proper use of these medications. Additionally, the Wellness Company offers a variety of products from parasite cleanses to methylene blue to weight loss and so much more that can help you stay healthy and live a longer and more satisfying life. Be prepared, not scared. Go to www.TWC Health RAV today and order again. That website is TWC Health RAV and make sure to use the promo code RAV to save 10%. All right, let's now bring in epidemiologist and administrator Nicholas Hoelscher. Nicholas, thank you so much for being with us this morning. So the hansavirus continues to be in the news. Some people are a little bit nervous about this, but what is the latest?
Nicholas Hoelscher
Yeah, well, thanks for having me. And to be honest, much of the fear for the hantavirus has been overblown. We believe it's going to be a dead end outbreak. There's currently been up to 12 cases and we have currently zero confirmed cases in the United States and zero confirmed cases among people who were not passengers.
Emily Finn
All right, so those stats are looking pretty good so far. Can you talk to us about the Andi strain of the hantavirus, the strain responsible for this latest outbreak?
Nicholas Hoelscher
Yeah, the Andes strain is the only strain that may have a at least small capacity of human to human transmission. But a recent study came out, a systematic Review looked at 22 studies looking at the Andi strain and they found that there's actually no credible evidence of human to human transmission. So we believe again, it's not going to become a pandemic, not going to become a massive outbreak because it simply just doesn't have that great capacity like Covid to transmit to other humans.
David Brody
Wow.
Emily Finn
So really no human to human transmission so if so, is it possible that this is a mutated version of the virus?
Nicholas Hoelscher
No genetic sequencing was released. It looks very, very similar to the same genetic code of the original Andes versions in Argentina. So we don't see any anomalous signatures. So again, we don't believe it gained any functions nor lost any functions. The main concerns we have are people who are obviously on the ship, exposed to the recirculated air, potentially rat feces, as well as corpses on the ship.
Emily Finn
Whoa. All right. Well, Nicholas, during COVID 19, during that outbreak, that was the first time that I had even heard about drugs like hydroxychloroquine, ivermectin. I do want to focus on hydroxychloroquine right now, though. Is it true that there are studies to show that it could potentially be effective against the hantavirus?
Nicholas Hoelscher
Yes, there is. There's actually a study that looked at chloroquine, and chloroquine did exhibit antiviral activity against the hantavirus, and specifically, I believe the Ondi strain of the hantavirus. And so we do believe that hydroxychloroquine as well as ivermectin will possess antiviral activity against the hantavirus because they have been demonstrated across a bunch of studies across over 10 different types of RNA viruses to have antiviral activity. But as well, we believe vitamin C, vitamin D and zinc, all of this is likely to be helpful.
Emily Finn
Perfect. I know the wellness company definitely is there for everyone that wants to be prepared for all things like this. What do you recommend specifically for our viewers today?
Nicholas Hoelscher
Yeah, the wellness company's contagion kit, their emergency contagion kit does have both ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine in it. So, you know, if you're going on a cruise ship, that would be. That would be helpful to have on hand in case you get locked down like we saw recently.
Emily Finn
Nicholas, I don't know about you, but I'm going to stay away from cruise ships here, at least for the near future. Seems like it's just not a good idea. We so appreciate you joining us this morning. Thank you so much for your time.
David Brody
Thank you.

Coming up, Senator Chris Van Hollen says Democrats are ready to take back the House. But are voters buying what he's selling? We assess next on American Sunrise.

All right. Welcome back to American Sunrise. It is time to stay awake, not woke. And today we are discussing Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen, who says Democrats have the momentum to defeat President Trump's, quote, personality cult in the midterms and take the House back. Let's take a look.
Senator Chris Van Hollen
I think the Democrats will win back the House because there's so much momentum. People are extremely upset, as they should be, with the fact that, you know, Trump has handled the economy in a terrible way. Prices are going through the roof. Life is unaffordable for millions and millions of Americans. He started a war that he promised he wouldn't. And so I think the momentum is very much there. Now, obviously, these decisions, including the more recent, you know, attack on the Voting Rights act, which was a huge leap, infamously bad decision, provides some setbacks. But I think, I think the political winds, Kristen, are blowing strongly enough that Democrats will win back the House. The future control of the House is at stake right here. And we need to do everything we can to prevent a continuation of what is a complete rubber stamp for Donald Trump. You heard Lindsey Graham. He said this is the party of Donald Trump. It is. It's a personality culture. And we need checks and balances, not a personality cult of rubber stamps.
Emily Finn
Let's now bring in David and Terrence for more. David, what do you think? Is the GOP a personality cult?
David Brody
Barack Obama, that wasn't a personality cult. I mean, there were a lot of folks that were just like, you know, they fell in love with him. And, you know, people love what President Trump is doing here. So give me a break. And no, it's not a cult. Have we checked in on the Jeffrey Epstein saga, latest of people breaking off there? Have we checked in on the Iran war, people breaking off there. We checked in on all of the times, either myself or Gina and others and many across MAGA have disagreed with this president and have said so publicly. I mean, come on, this is not serious. And so to me, what's frustrating here is that we have to listen to this nonsense. And the good news is we really don't, in the sense that as long as you don't turn on msnbc, then you're good. Tb, I don't listen. But not only do I not listen, I mean, seriously, not only do I not listen to msnbc, I don't watch CNN and I don't watch Fox and I don't watch any of those cable outlet shows. And the main reason I don't, quite frankly, is I don't. I have my own opinions and I do my own research, and I don't need to listen to any of them to necessarily inform any of my reporting. Now, having said that, I'm not saying that some of that analysis doesn't, you know, shouldn't be taken into consideration. That's not what I'm saying. But I'm saying that, you know, I want to have original thoughts. I don't want to go along with what I heard on a certain network, whether it be conservative or liberal. And I think if we start to listen to some of that, we might start to parrot it and repeat it. And I don't want to do that. And so I don't listen to any of it.
Terrence Bates
Okay, that's a fair assessment. I definitely get that. I want to look past the headline of the personality cult to some of the other things that we just heard there. He basically was saying that the Democrats have momentum, and I take issue with that. I don't think Democrats have momentum. I think he does point out accurately that there are some economic issues that could turn out to be Achilles heels in terms of inflation is rising, gas prices are up, those are kitchen table items and issues that people are going to vote on. And unfortunately, it's happening during President Trump's administration, which doesn't necessarily benefit him, but those are issues that voters are going to align with. It's not Democrats. It's not that the Democrats have come out with any sort of platform or any sort of solutions that really benefit the American people. It's simply that President Trump is in office right now and some of these other things that have largely been influenced by the war in Iran are impacting the economy. So when Democrats say, yeah, well, we have momentum, no, you don't you don't have anything. You're simply trying to benefit off of kind of the circumstances in political. In the economic circumstances of the country, which, again, are simply a result of other global factors, other geopolitical factors.
Emily Finn
Yeah, Terrence, I would have to completely agree with you on that. I took issue with the momentum comment as well. There is no momentum because when you look to the future, they really don't have a very deep bench like the Republicans do, of personalities. And unfortunately, personality does go a really far way in politics. You have to have a personality to be able to appeal to the American people. And frankly, it's the independents that really win the elections, the people that really aren't sure if they're going to sway one way or the other. And the Democrats simply don't have those personalities on their team. So when he says momentum, I'm really not sure what he's talking about. If you're talking short term momentum, maybe you could say that. But long term, man, this is going to be a really uphill battle for the Democrats. David.
David Brody
Yeah. And Terrence, you made a good point about the gas prices. So what's the momentum? Higher gas prices. So they're cheering for higher gas prices. That's the momentum. No. Not going to square. Not going to square.
Terrence Bates
I'm not seeing it. And on the personality issue, I would just say that I think what Van Hollen is doing is confusing personality with leadership. President Trump is showing leadership and people are following him. It's not a cult of personality. No, it's a leadership thing. And he's strong enough to be able to influence others to follow him because they believe in his policies. It's not a personality thing, it's leadership.
David Brody
I would argue he's had too many margaritas, FYI.
Terrence Bates
Yeah, and those El Salvador margaritas, they're a little stronger than what most of
David Brody
us are used to, especially when you're with people, when you're hanging out with people like that.
Terrence Bates
Yeah, David, we're right here. I'm sorry, should I bring it up? Should I go there?
David Brody
No, I'm wrong. He was a Maryland dad. My bad. I'm sorry. He was a Maryland dad. I.

Welcome back to American Sunrise. It's now time for our moment of faith, which is brought to us by Lee Greenwood and the God Bless the USA Bible in focus today. Thousands gathering on the national mall Sunday for Rededicate 250. It was a massive prayer event marking America's upcoming 250th anniversary. President Trump addressed the event by video while top administration officials and faith leaders joined attendees for a day of worship music and patriotic celebration aimed at rededicating the nation as one nation under God. Let's bring in David to discuss a little bit more. David, the one nation under God, capital G, capital O, capital D. That's really what was critical because yes, it was a faith event, but the focus was one nation under God. That, I think is what a lot of people have missed.
David Brody
No, you're absolutely right. And I was watching a clip from MSNBC and they sure didn't get it. I saw Katie Tur scratching her head asking the panelists going, you know, Mike Johnson said something about our rights come from God, not government. What do you think about that? Like, it's controversial. What's so controversial about it? Wait for it, Katie. It's in our founding documents. I mean, this idea, you know, Robert Jeffress, Pastor Robert Jeffress said something on the podium on Sunday that's really true. If George Washington and his founding father, comrades, if you will, were around today, you know what they would be called by MSNBC and cnn? They'd be Christian nationalists. That's exactly what they would be. They would. And that's not being facetious, as Joe Biden would say. I mean, I'm being totally dead serious. They would be called Christian nationalists. Why? Because they in government and they are preaching the word of God and talking about God and talking about how our rights come from God and that God is controlling what this country needs to be all about, which is virtue and biblical values. And if you're going to go down that road, that's how you'll be labeled. And so t, I think, to me, what this is really all about is changing and defining the narrative. Whoever defines the narrative wins. Words matter. And if you're going to start to basically call tens of millions of patriotic evangelical and Christians, Catholic conservative Catholics, if you're going to call them Christian nationalists, then if you keep repeating it, you're doing something sinister, which is you're lying, number one. And you're trying to change the narrative to make sure that that is what goes forward. And when you start to change the narrative, you can change policy because of it.
Terrence Bates
And, David, I think it's also important to point out that the values our founding fathers espoused were simply rooted in the Bible. They were rooted in Christian morality, but they weren't Christian exclusive.
David Brody
Well, that's right. We also should point out that. And I always like to talk about the black robe regiment. Right. Of the revolutionary army and the revolutionary wartime, where pastors spoke out about the moral and ideological and all of the issues of the day from a moral prism, and they spoke from the pulpit. So I think that's important to understand. Look, we don't win the revolutionary War if it weren't for the pastors that were speaking out. Why is that? Because the pastors mobilized their congregations, and the congregations therefore took up arms. You know, many of them didn't want to, but were convinced because of the pastors that they the time. So we owe a great deal to those pastors back at yesteryear, if you will.
Terrence Bates
Absolutely. We'll, of course, continue this conversation, particularly as we get closer to the 250th anniversary of this country. Looking forward to the celebrations. By the way, drinks and hot dogs at David's house. I'm inviting everybody. Come on over. Come one, come all. We're all going to David's house to celebrate.
David Brody
I'll send you the bill, brother.
Terrence Bates

Coming up on this second hour of American Sunrise, President Trump delays planned strikes on targets in Iran, saying that another potential peace deal is in the works. So how much longer will this standoff drag on? Yeah, it's the big story of the day and we'll be discussing throughout the day. Plus, the 2020 election is back in focus this morning as acting Attorney General Todd Blanche says the Department of Justice is engaged in multiple investigations over voter irregularities. The details coming up. Also ahead, new polling data spelling potentially bad news, news for Republicans ahead of this year's midterm elections. It shows that blue collar workers are turning away from President Trump over economic concerns. We'll break down those numbers for you as American Sunrise in the second hour starts right now.

Welcome back, everybody, to the second hour of American Sunrise. I'm David Brody coming to you from D.C. let's bring in Emily Finn. She's in west palm Beach for Dr. G and T. B. Bates, who is not in for T. Bates because he is T. Bates. Good morning, T. Bates. How are you? How is everybody? I have nothing pithy to say. Just good morning.
Emily Finn
Good morning to you, David and Terrence.
Terrence Bates
Who are you, sir? I don't recognize you, sir. Who are you? Why are you speaking to me this early? Actually, I should come on and say, and I'm exhausted. That I am.
David Brody
That's right.
Terrence Bates
Good morning, you guys. What a Tuesday. So, look, I'm going to be up late tonight. I'm exhausted now, and I'm probably gonna be even more exhausted, even though the polls probably will close fairly early. And we'll know. We'll have some answers by. I'm in Mountain time, so I would imagine by 10 at the very latest, we'll have answers. But the Thomas Massie thing, he, of course, is being primaried by President Trump and Ed Gallerian. So I'm gonna be watching that all tonight. And I'm probably mispronouncing his name. Sorry, Ed, if I'm mispronouncing your name, but I'm very interested to see how that that all goes down. We kind of disagree. You think that. And the polls are actually on your side, David. So I will say this. You think that Massie is going to lose? I'm not so sure. I'm not so sure. It's. I'm. Yeah, I'm on the fence. I trust President Trump, and I know that when he's involved, whoever he's supporting has a better chance. But I have said that Massie is pretty popular in that district, so. So it's going to be interesting.
David Brody
I'm going to be watching.
Terrence Bates
That's all. We'll see.
David Brody
You could call him Mr. Ed, by the way. I think that would probably be a good idea.
Terrence Bates
Oh, David, I don't know why you speak that way.
David Brody
Oh, my gosh. That was a really good Mr. Ed impression. That was good. Well, a horse is a horse. Of course. Of course. So a couple of things on Tom Massie real quick. Here's why I think he's going to lose. A couple reasons. One, obviously, President Trump endorses opponent, but beyond all of that, aipac, the Israel lobby. Oh, they're out for him. They're out for him in Kentucky. And that means tens of millions of dollars. You put the pro Israel lobby and President Trump in one small district. Get ready. I think it's gonna happen. That's all I'm saying.
Emily Finn
Laura Loomer has made it her mission over the past couple of weeks to get him out as well. So Messi has been feeling all the attacks, that's for sure.
Terrence Bates
Yeah, we shall see. And if he, in fact does lose, then I'll say, yeah, I told you so. If he wins, I'm gonna say, yeah, I told you so. So just get ready. All right, let's get to a couple of quick headlines here. President Trump says major attacks on Iran that were planned for today are being delayed because American allies in the Gulf region believe that Iran is close to signing a deal. The commander in chief says leaders from Saudi Arabia, Qatar ambassador, the United Arab Emirates are among those who are asking him to push the planned attack back several days in order to give Iran more time to sign an agreement that includes the Islamic regime having no nuclear weapons. And as we just mentioned, it is Election Day in Kentucky as President Trump and his administration are taking aim at Congressman Thomas Massie. Monday, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth was in Kentucky campaigning with Massey, Massey's primary challenger and President Trump's endorsed former Navy SEAL candidate Ed Galerian. Massie, by the way, is one of several incumbent Republicans that President Trump is looking to unseat due to their opposition to his policies. And two teenagers who police say opened fire on a mosque in San Diego are dead. And investigators are looking into the incident as a possible hate crime. Investigators say the the duo killed three men before committing suicide just a few blocks away from that mosque. Shortly before the attack, one of the boy's mother called police, reporting that he had run away and was suicidal. The Islamic center of San Diego, where this attack went down is the largest mosque in San Diego county and it includes a school for students as young as five years old. That's a quick check of your headlines. Now let's get a quick check of your forecast. Weather Nation meteorologist Tracy Anthony standing by with your hometown forecast. T.T. good morning.
Dr. Gina
Hey, good morning.
Terrence Bates
Hey, little T.T. how you doing?
Dr. Gina
And I don't even have the touchscreen going right now. You know what, Terrence? I have to be honest, this hometown kind of threw me off because I don't know where Wildwood, New Jersey, is. So when I plugged in that forecast and it came up with 75 degrees today, I was like, that's wrong because most of New Jersey is in the 90s. I'm like, we're talking records, heat. But let me show you the map. So I learned something new today here with this. Wildwood is south of Atlantic City. So you've got it on that little peninsula down there. So kind of moderated by the Atlantic Ocean a little bit. So that's why those daytime highs are so different. But look at the rest of the state, areas like Trenton, 98°, Toms River, 97°. This is where we're talking record heat. Wildwood, you kind of get a break. So enjoy that as we head out to the Central plains. Dixon, Missouri, 76 degrees today. You're feeling a big cool down from where we were at yesterday. That's that cold front rolling on through.
News Anchor
Now.
Dr. Gina
We will continue to have several rounds of rain showers and Storms through the week. So we're staying in a pretty active pattern. This coming in from Bowser Roadkill on YouTube. I should say missed the name there but, but the three day rainfall totals here across Missouri, just insane. They've picked up 5 to 7 inches of rain just south of I70. You can see where Dixon is. So we're talking the potential for flash flooding possible with these storms rolling through today and into the end of the week. Now another area where flooding is a big concern. I love when these hometowns can tell the weather story. We're taking you out to Trinidad, Texas this coming in October. Getter from army vet conservative. You are under excessive rainfall outlooks for the next five days. So we are talking a very stormy pattern. We could have some severe mixed in as temperatures hover right around 80 degrees. So that cold front rolls through today for you, but then the heat and humidity that lingers, we're just going to be able to wring out that moisture. So a very active couple of days for a few of our viewers. Taryn, across the nation.
Steve Gruber
Absolutely.
Terrence Bates
But the rain is much needed, particularly in those states dealing with significant drought. Tracy, always good to see you. Thanks so much.
Dr. Gina
Yep. And don't forget to download the Weather Nation app if you need weather updates throughout the day.
Terrence Bates
Good advice. Thank you. All right, let's get you over to David now. David, good morning.
David Brody
Good morning, T. Bates. All right. President Trump on Monday called off strikes on Iran planned for today, saying a potential peace deal is in progress. In a Truth social post, 47 said he spoke to the leaders of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE before ordering the Pentagon to hold off on a planned military attack on Iran and that a favorable deal for a non nuclear Iran is in the works. Joining us now with analysis is the editor in chief for just the news, that would be John Solomon. John, we've heard this before and I know now we're hearing. I mean Is this 3D, 4D, 5D, 6D chess? I can't even play chess. Go ahead, you go.
John Solomon
It's classic Iranian diplomacy. Maybe we will, maybe we won't. Maybe we will, maybe we won't. Eventually they will because there's only two options for Iran. Make a deal now or be completely obliterated in the next wave of military attacks. President Trump, if he orders those attacks, will take out the irgc. They have used the last four or five weeks to figure out where all those troops are. The IRGC is the most radicalized part of the government. It's the one that most is holding out rhetorically and strategically trying to tell the rest of the civilian leadership, don't make a deal with the United States. They may meet an untimely end to their strategy if they push this envelope much further. President Trump is intent on wiping them out if they have, if he has to go back to military action to also open up the Strait of Hormuz and make it easily passable for ships going forward. So Iran's best opportunity the next 48 hours. After the next 48 hours, I think the president's patience will have worn out. But you're right, the cat and mouse game is like a wash, rinse, repeat cycle.
David Brody
Hey, by the way, can I just do a quick follow up? I'm sorry, TBAs put a follow up. Absolutely.
Terrence Bates
Go ahead. Go ahead.
David Brody
A guest earlier in the show said that he believes that the IRGC is hanging out in the northern part of Iran, up by the Afghanistan border, like northeast.
John Solomon
Wouldn't surprise me.
David Brody
Do you. Yeah, I was going to say, you have any sense of where they might
John Solomon
be, the John Solomon, because yeah, they'll need, they need some in Tehran to avoid any civilian protests and overthrow the government. But I wouldn't be surprised if they're dispersed all across the country, particularly in the north, which is a little harder to navigate, particularly for troops. If you ever were to put troops on the ground, I think this will all be done by the air. Maybe a little bit of ground troops here and there around the canal, but around the strait. But I do think that in general they are dispersed, but we generally know where they are. And I think that that's going to be a problem. And that tells you something. If the IRGC move right near the Afghan border, because it probably means their escape hatch will be to run into Afghanistan when they realize they're defeated. So keep a close eye on that dynamic.
Terrence Bates
Hey, John, if you haven't already, I would suggest maybe setting up a bureau at the Department of Justice, having a permanent office there because there's so much news, there's so much news coming out of the doj.
David Brody
Right.
Terrence Bates
I just like it blows my mind here. First of all, the DOJ working to expose electoral fraud schemes in California. We're now learning that federal prosecutors have charged a California woman with paying people, including homeless people in Los Angeles, skid row, in order to register to vote. And that, of course, reignites the national debate over election security. And then we also are hearing, John, I'm just going to kind of throw this one in there for good measure, that the DOJ is preparing a potential indictment against Raul Castro down in Cuba. So much going on. Those are just two stories that are top of mind. And I'm sure there's so much more going on there at the Department of Justice. What can you tell us about all of this?
John Solomon
You got your fingers on the right pulse there. Tomorrow morning is when I think the U.S. attorney's office in Miami will unseal a previously secured indictment against Raul Castro, charging him with murder, destruction of American aircraft, a conspiracy to kill Americans over an incident that occurred more than 30 years ago when they shot down two humanitarian planes being run by three American citizens and one green American lawful resident. It was an outrage. Back in 96, Bill Clinton kind of fecklessly responded. He didn't really hold Cuba to account. Presidents since then have kicked the can down the road, but not this president. Last year, this president's immigration team intercepted one of the Cuban pilots believed to have been involved in that shoot down. He had been let into the country. Get a load of this. By Joe Biden. We arrested him. And that led to new evidence that has now put us at the cusp of an historic indictment of the former President of Cuba, Raul Castro. He's 94 years old. He's the brother of Fidel. He'll be one of the oldest defendants ever charged in federal court. If he were to be prosecuted, this could set off a chain reaction in Cuba. People have long wanted Raul Castro to be prosecuted. This could be the moment where Cubans get new motivation to rise up and try to get a new government in that country. And then for election integrity. You said it. How many times have we told you we're an election denier? If you dare ask about these cases where we have clear proof of fraud. Well, this case in California mentioned. Terrence. Two decades this scam went on in California. Two decades this woman admitted she was doing this. It's the tip of a very big iceberg in California. But there have been two dozen cases that we mentioned in a story today of election fraud that have been brought in the last year. Everything from illegal voting by non citizens to ballot box stuffing. There's also been four elections that had to be overturned because of election fraud. In all cases, those four elections were all Democrat fraud. The election deniers are no longer deniers. The people who are deniers are those who claim there isn't fraud in the system. And that debate has been turned around on the left in a big way by this Justice Department.
David Brody
Yeah, John, we gotta run.
Terrence Bates
But busy.
David Brody
Yeah, yeah, he is. Hey, John, we gotta run. But Everybody go to justthenews.com I mean, the news is just breaking all over the place because John is breaking the news and his team there. John, thanks so much. Appreciate you.
John Solomon
Love your show, guys. Thanks so much.
David Brody
I appreciate it. We love it too. Did I really need to say that? Coming up, voting irregularities during the 2020 presidential election are back in focus as acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. Hey, we were just talking about you, Todd. He says multiple investigations are now underway. We're gonna have the details straight ahead. It never stops at the Department of Justice.

Welcome back to American Sunrise. It's time now to drain the swamp. And this morning we are flushing out potential election meddling. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche is making headlines after saying the Justice Department is actively investigating alleged misconduct connected to the 2020 election, including cases in Arizona and Georgia. During a recent interview on Fox News, Blanche said there is 18 ton of evidence the 2020 election was rigged against President Trump. And the DOJ is conducting multiple investigations related to election security and voting irregularities. Take a look.
Terrence Bates
Well, there's a ton of evidence that the election was rigged. That's not something the DOJ needs to. Needs to tell you about. There's been evidence about that for many, many years. What I can tell you is that we have multiple investigations going on in Arizona, in, in Georgia, in Fulton County, Georgia. And that's exactly what we're looking at, by the way. This is very difficult because they're very good. They're very good at hiding up misconduct and hiding. Hiding what they're doing. And so that's why we're very focused on finding out whether the right people voted, whether People who were supposed to vote voted whether there was one vote cast per voter. And that's what we're doing in multiple states.
Emily Finn
All right, let's discuss more with David Brody and Terrance Bates. David, want to get your thoughts on Todd Blanche's comments there.
David Brody
Did you hear that part where he said, by the way, they're very good at hiding this stuff? See, to me, that's the built in excuse. If they don't do anything, whether it be the DOJ or officials in Arizona and Georgia, that could be the excuse that. Well, listen, we tried, but they're good at hiding it and we weren't able to get the goods. So we'll see. So we'll see. I don't know. I mean, it's frustrating, right? I mean, what is it now, 20, 26? Yeah, that's right. So it's been six years, or has it been six years? Five. Yeah. Six years. Five and a half since the rigged election. And we're still talking about this. And I'm glad we are, don't get me wrong. But it's like, okay, let's see some. Let's see some results here. And you know, because the Biden administration, T. Bates, they were quick to kind of get results on the other side of this from a negative perspective. But where are we on this? Exactly. I get it. They're not giving up. But at the same time, you know, is there a light at the end of the tunnel? I sure hope so.
Terrence Bates
I'm all for the investigations. I support the investigations and I want some outcomes and some real solid answers. But am I the only one that gets the sense that Todd Blanche is auditioning for the job of Attorney general, that he wants to lose that interim title? And he's really auditioning and pushing hard. And my concern is, all right, so he gets it. Is he going to continue to be as aggressive or is he going to ease up a little bit once he gets the job? If he gets the job. That's my sense. And every time I hear him speak lately, there's always kind of a cloud over it. And I have that question. Is it just me?
David Brody
I don't know. I don't. Well, I'm sorry, Emily, please. But I just want to say I don't think he's going to ease up at all. I mean, he was President Trump's personal lawyer. Absolutely not.
Emily Finn
Absolutely not. When we started this segment, I felt like I was stepping into a time machine. I mean, we were talking about this six years ago, as you pointed out, David, and hopefully we are able to get somewhere with all of this. I can't imagine that we are. The one thing that is true, that is a fact, is Joe Biden had millions more votes. A crazy number more people came out and voted for him in the middle of a pandemic than for Kamala Harris. So that raises some questions for sir. And like you said, Terrence, I'm all for the investigations as well. Our election integrity should be of the utmost importance for every American. That's our how our American way of life is able to be preserved. All right. Coming up on American Sunrise, Bill Cassidy's defeat in Louisiana is being hailed as a win for the Make America Healthy Again movement. We'll show you why after the break. Stay with us.

Foreigning bell at the New York Stock Exchange. We'll take you there live once it rings in just a few minutes. In the meantime, here's how our futures board is looking. That's not a positive sign on this Tuesday morning. As you can see, it is red top to bottom. The dow S P500 and the NASDAQ all down at the moment. But again, we'll take it to New York for the opening bell here in short order. First, just let's get you over to David Brody.
David Brody
T. Bates. Thank you, sir. Okay. The ousting of Senator Bill Cassidy, Louisiana, this week is being celebrated as a major win for the Maha movement. You know, the Make America Healthy Again crowd. Cassidy, a physician who clashed with RFK Jr over vaccine policy and public health issues, became a top target for some Maha activists during the race. Supporters of the movement say his loss signals growing frustration. Excuse me, growing voter frustration with the public health establishment and a shift towards more skepticism of federal health agencies. Now, analysts say the result could encourage more Republican candidates to align themselves with the Maha movement ahead of 2028. Let's discuss that more. Dissect this with the good doctor. Joining us now, former congresswoman and physician Nan Hayworth. Nan, great to see you again. Good morning. Bill Cassidy.
Terrence Bates
Wow.
David Brody
I say a shocker. No, not a shocker, ultimately, but the fact that a sitting senator comes in third in a primary, that's going to send a signal.
News Anchor
It does. And, David, I would say that the crucial. I served with Senator Cassidy when he was a freshman in the House of representatives in 2011 and 2012. And I think really what put him in the greatest jeopardy with his Republican voters was the fact that he voted to convict President Trump in the Democrats impeachment trial in whenever it was 2021, I guess. And that I thought was just a fatal error and deservedly so. It is also true, several things, of course, can be true at once, that Senator Cassidy in his capacity in the Senate was crucial in expressing a lot of skepticism and or opposition to Secretary Kennedy's initiatives, particularly surrounding vaccines and, of course, on the nomination of Casey Means. So these are issues that indeed folks who are very passionate about the Maha movement would find a deep problem with him and could find with other Republican candidates or incumbents as well.
David Brody
No, absolutely. Hey, while we're talking politics, let's talk just about the Tom Massie primary, a big race tonight. He's in trouble, Nan.
Brian Leib
He could.
David Brody
He could easily lose. He could win, but he could lose there. Boy, that really narrows it down. He could win or lose. Way to go. That's really astute analysis coming from me. But the pro Israel lobby, they are out in force against him. Of course, the President has been saying all these things about him. What do you think, Nan? Are you going on any of sort sports betting sites tonight to bet or. I guess not.
News Anchor
You know, the only bets I ever took, the only risky bets I ever took, were in politics for my own.
David Brody
I don't.
News Anchor
I don't generally wager on anything, but here's the problem for. For Mr. Massey, and he does have clearly stated libertarian principles, and they. And he's a staunch fiscal conserv. And that can certainly garner respect. And he has been popular among the voters in his district, which is deep red. The problem we have is strategic. So it's great to be principled. It's important, no doubt, of course, to be principled. But when you are in a legislative body, your obligation is also to advance a policy agenda in such a way that does not let the perfect be the enemy of the good. And the problem we have with Mr. Massie is that in a Republican majority that has maybe two votes to spare to get our agenda on which we all broadly agree, and it's vastly preferable to the alternative. So to advance that, you're going to need to accept certain compromises along policy lines. Doesn't mean you're compromising your principles, but you're not necessarily getting every policy you want. And that's the problem. He's not strategic. So I do hope that Mr. Gallrein wins. I have a feeling he will, probably narrowly. But a win is a win.
David Brody
Wow, that was articulated so well. Nan, thanks for being here. Next time, your doctor will have you on. And find out why all doctors scribble prescriptions. That is the key question. I want to know. Dan Hayworth on the record here, not scribbling prescriptions. Thank you, Nan. Appreciate it.
Nicholas Hoelscher
Thank you.
News Anchor
Thank you.
David Brody
All right. Why not? Let's just go to T. Bates. He's got the market. He's got other stuff. It's all sponsored by amac.

Emily Finn
Welcome back to American Sunrise. I'm Emily Finn. Thank you so much for joining us this morning. We invite you to join the conversation on getter and rumble. Time now to take the political pulse of America and the beat. Today, a new CBS News poll is showing warning signs for President Trump's political coalition, particularly among working class and non college educated white voters who helped fuel his return to the White House. According to the poll, 54% of Americans now say the economy is getting worse, while just 28% say it's improving. Among white voters without a college degree, a key part of Trump's base approval of the president's handling of the economy has fallen to 47% with 53% disapproving. The survey also found that 63% of blue collar workers say they are experiencing financial stress, while 58% of non college educated white voters say inflation and cost of living issues are their top concern. Joining us now with analysis is the host of America's Voice Live and Daybreak, Steve Gruber. Good morning Steve. Thanks for being with us. What do you make of these numbers?
Steve Gruber
Good morning. I don't care, you know, I don't you know, let me just be blunt, like I usually am. It's just another survey and a blizzard of surveys. And what do they mean? Nothing. Here's what I can tell you. Donald Trump's numbers have a floor at about 42%. We all know that he is more popular than any sitting president in recent memory with his own party. 83%, according to Chicken Noodle News, our friends over at CNN. Higher than Barack Obama, higher than George W. Bush, certainly higher than Joe Biden. I almost forgot his name. Of course. Why wouldn't I? He forgot his own name. And the fact of the matter is that these are the surveys. It's just something to fill for us to talk about. I don't care. The only thing less popular than Donald Trump by far is the Democrat Party as a whole. Have you seen their numbers? And those are real. I mean, putting girls up against boys in sports, not popular. Wide open borders, not popular. Chopping kids up to make them think that they're a boy or a girl when they're not. Not popular. I can go right on down the list. Socialism and Communism might be popular in New York for about another 10 minutes before they realize what a scam it was. But these ideas are not popular. Fact of the matter is, I think that the Republicans are going to do better in the midterms than everybody says right now. We'll see. I could be wrong, and if I am, I'll tell you so. But right now I feel like the Republicans have something to run on. It's called ideas. Democrats run on it. We hate Trump and they're all fascists and white supremacists. I don't think that message sells. I don't. I don't think it's a message. It's just a message of division. It's a message of what we're against. In order to win elections, you have to stand for something. And that doesn't mean standing on the podium in girls sports as a boy, but you have to stand for something. That's what I believe.
Terrence Bates
David, can I have a quick follow up here?
David Brody
Yes, really quickly.
Terrence Bates
Do you mind it? So, Steve, I get you don't care about the numbers, but the reality is Americans are feeling the pinch of the economy. We can differ on why and what's impacted the economy, but gas prices are out. And the reality is people are having to get to work and it's costing them more to get to work. Inflation is still up, groceries are up, and those sorts of things. And those are the things that will determine how people vote. In the upcoming midterm. So whether we care or not, those are significant factors, are they not?
Steve Gruber
They are significant factor. You're absolutely right. But some things don't track. Terrence, let me give you an example. Oil today is $35 less a barrel than it was in 2022, and yet gas prices are higher. Explain that to me. Because it doesn't track mathematically. Gas was $5 a gallon in July 2022, when oil was at $139 a barrel. Today, it was at $104 when I looked this morning. So $35, $36 a barrel less. And yet somebody's making money, buddy. Somebody's cashing in on this deal, on the fear and everything else that they can try to figure out. I mean, the numbers don't make sense, but does it impact. Is it Donald Trump's fault? I don't think so. Well, you can say the war in Iran drove up oil prices. Okay. Is it better to drive up oil prices? I'm gonna use his argument because I happen to agree with it. Is it better for Iran to have a nuclear weapon or for you to pay more for gasoline? I think the answer is obvious. There's a lot of belief that Iran has missiles that can reach the mainland of the United States right now. I don't know if it's true or not, but I wouldn't disbelieve it. I know they can reach Europe, and if I was China, I wouldn't want Iran to have a nuclear weapon. It's much closer to their nation than it is to ours. So, yeah. Are prices gonna be a problem? Yes, they are. Here's the takeaway. If this wraps up, and that's an if, because, I don't know, you can deal with Iran because they don't tell the truth. They lie. If you can get that wrapped up, oil prices will plummet, gas prices will come down, the economy will hum. And if Kevin Warsh is able to bring down interest rates by a quarter point, this economy is ready to go. Look at where the stock market is. Look at where other measures of the economy are very strong. So I agree with you, Terrence, 100%. People are impacted by prices. Prices dictate elections oftentimes, but we've got a long way to go. It's still May. If these prices are still elevated in late September, when early voting starts, that's a problem. If they have relaxed and gas prices have come down by late September, early October, and the economy is moving along and people are seeing real wages increase, which they have already. It could be a very good election for Republicans. And that's not even taking into consideration all the redistricting that favors Republicans across the country. So you have that.
David Brody
Yeah, if, if, if. We just don't know. We just don't know at this point. All right. Kentucky, Kentucky Massey, Crystal ball time. Steve Gruber. Massie wakes up tomorrow a loser or winner.
Steve Gruber
He loses.
Congressman Mark Alford
Yeah, he loses.
Steve Gruber
You know, look, it's not just that he took on Donald Trump on this point or that point. He's become, it's become who he is. Oppose Donald Trump wherever you can, whenever you can, whether it makes sense or not. Kentucky's 4th congressional district will have new representation come January. That's what I believe. Here's something else about Donald Trump. People say, well, MAGA is dying. Well, if it's dying, why does Donald Trump have a 95% success rate when he endorses candidates? Look what happened in Louisiana. Bill Cassidy got the lowest number of votes for an incumbent senator since at least World War II. Maybe, maybe earlier, maybe ever. 25%. He came in third place as an incumbent senator. Two term senator in Louisiana. He voted for impeachment. And the people said, you gotta go. You look at what happened in Indiana two weeks ago today, five of the seven Republicans that opposed redistricting in that state are gone. When Donald Trump steps in and endorses, things happen. As I look at the scorecard here, David Trump did not endorse Massie. So he's in big trouble. There you have it.
David Brody
Yep. Yep.
Terrence Bates
All right, let's talk AI data centers. Why don't we. You want to take this one? I'm sorry? Because we've been dominating conversation. Emily, you want to take this one?
David Brody
Oh, yes, please.
Emily Finn
Sure. Actually, I kind of want to switch gears if I can and continue talking about Massie with Steve here. What does Thomas Massie do next after this? Because I think we're all on the same page that we think that he's going to lose. But what does he do next with his political career? Does he join Marjorie Taylor Greene and start an America first party? I want to know your thoughts on that.
Steve Gruber
No, he does what everybody does. They can't do. They go teach. He'll be a professor somewhere. That's his next step. Lock it in, go to Couchy and predict it. I'm telling you right now, he's gonna be a professor somewhere, warping young kids minds about the evils of Donald Trump or some silly thing. And he'll fit right in, by the way. He'll be Embraced by, by the folks there in academia. Or maybe he becomes an analyst on cnn. Those are the two life paths for Thomas Massie here out. Because you know the folks on CNN will love him. Look, you hate Donald Trump, you're a Republican. You know, just go ahead and spew hatred all over him, call him whatever you want, and they'll cheer and carry on and whatever. That's my guess, Emily. He becomes a professor or an analyst on cnn, maybe both. Maybe he'll double dip, who knows? But that's where he goes. Go ahead.
David Brody
I'd like to give Emily a gold trophy today for the best question of the entire two hours. Emily, I think you're absolutely spot on as to what happens next because I believe, because you mentioned America first and Marjorie Taylor Greene and that's why it's so spot on. I think he's going to do exactly that. I think somehow, some way in 2028, the wild card here is, and I'm not talking about Massey running for president, that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about somehow MTG and Massie and Tucker Carlson, the America first movement. Something is coming there. Whether it be a Tucker Carlson candidacy for president, whether it be a super pac, America first super pac. Something is happening. There is a wild card there. And I think Massey is going to be a part of it.
Emily Finn
I believe that Lauren Boebert may be next in Donald. Donald Trump's crosshairs. And that's a lot of people with big personalities that I don't think are just going to be happy with going on CNN once in a while.
David Brody
And Trump will stage at that point in terms of, you know, he's not running in 2028. So that gives them even more reason to do it.
Steve Gruber
Maybe if we're lucky, we can have a pay per view of Tucker and all the others, you know, wrestling demons in the middle of the night. Yeah, we'll just have a pay per view event and they'll wrestle their demons and we'll just get to see it live on streaming. I think that'll be exciting. But you guys could be right. They could team up and who cares? Look, we have a government. Honestly, I mean, where's Marjorie Taylor Greene today? Where is she? Not here. Do people take her seriously? Not here. Again. Donald Trump is the most popular president with his own party in modern history. Is he gonna win the midterms? I don't know. I don't know for sure. But I think the Republicans are gonna do far better than people would predict today. In May. I believe that strongly because you look at the Democrat Party, what they stand for is not what ordinary Americans stand for. People in working class families. Yes. Is the pinch harder? Yes, it is, like Terrence asked. But then they look at the options. What's the alternative? Socialism? Mamdani, that nut job out in Seattle, what are your options? You get somebody like that. I mean, come on, this is, it's a binary choice. You can go with something that's a little painful and you're not particularly 100% on board with, or you can go with absolute insanity. Which do you choose? I mean, when Dershowitz says I don't know this party, when Bill Maher says I don't know this party, when these people say, look, we're lifelong Democrats, we don't know what we're looking at, do you think John F. Kennedy, if he were here today, would have any idea what he's looking at? And the answer is no. You know, I talk to Democrats every day that were lifelong Democrats and say I don't know what these people are doing. I don't know who they are and I want nothing to do with it. These are lifelong Democrats. One more prediction for you. Why not? John Fetterman is going to leave the Democrat Party. He is not going to become a Republican because he is a Democrat, but he's going to become an Independent because he has no choice. They have marginalized any moderate voice that listens to both sides, that comes down for common sense. They get kicked right to the curb. And so John Fetterman is going to get kicked to the curb?
Terrence Bates
Really?
Steve Gruber
He already has. So moderate Democrats, they're ever more scarce in the wild and they're going to become a force upon themselves because that voting block might become a significant voting block to who WINS Everything in 26 or 28. See what happens.
Emily Finn
Steve, you definitely have your crystal ball out today with all of these predictions. We so appreciate you joining us this morning.
Steve Gruber
And I'm not even wrestling demonstration. I'm not even wrestling demons in the middle of the night.
David Brody
You know, I leave that for Swami, the great Swami.
Emily Finn
All right, coming up, California gubernatorial candidate Javier Becerra is emerging as the leading candidate in the Golden State following what should have been a disastrous interview. We'll have the details after the break. Stay with us.

Today, California's crowded race for governor. New polling and betting odds show former Health and Human Services Secretary Javier Becerra emerging as a top Democratic contender, while former Fox News host Steve Hilton has surged on the Republican side with the backing of President Trump. The race has also been rocked by scandals, including federal fraud cases involving former Democratic operatives connected to Becerra and Newsom, as well as questions about big money influencer campaigns and whether California voters are ready for a political shakeup after years of Democrat control. Let's discuss more with David Brody and Terrance Bates. Terrance, I wish that Dr. Gina was here to talk about this. The two of us both lived in California for a while and I know that she agrees with me. They are so Ready for a Republican. It is absolutely time to get that state under control.
Terrence Bates
Well, it's going to be interesting to see if, in fact, voters do respond. You mentioned Steve Hilton. He is, of course, the Republican frontrunner, if you will. First of all, I guess you kind of have to step back. So the gubernatorial race there in California is an all in race, which means that both Democrats and Republicans run. It's a, I mean, they're party specific, but there are all kinds of candidates. We're talking dozens of candidates who are on the the ballot. And the top two candidates ultimately will face off in the general election. So it's going to be interesting to see if that ultimately benefits Republicans, being that there are so many Democrats in the race. But back to Steve Hilton. He, of course, is one of the Republican frontrunners right now. And he of course has President Trump's endorsement, which conceivably could benefit him, particularly in this sort of race. And David, let's just be honest here. He also has the accent, he's got the British accent, which that in and of itself makes him that much more interesting. I'm sorry, it's probably a shallow analysis, but I think there may be something there.
David Brody
Yes. And I think Philip Patrick from the Birch Gold Group should be his running mate. All right, a couple of things. Tb, right. Dozen, dozens of candidates. So there's a total of 61 candidates. And this thing's crazy. Talk about a jungle primary. This thing's out of control. 61 candidates. June 2 is when it happens. But we're looking at four, four people that have consistently polled at the top. And that will, of course be Javier Becerra, one of the Democrats. The other Democrat is Tom Steyer. He's a billionaire philanthropist. Those are the two Democrats and the two Republicans that are polling the highest, as you mentioned, Steve Hilton and of course, Chad Bianco, who we've had on this show before, the sheriff down in Riverside County. So the question then becomes, can two Republicans get the two top slots? If that's the case, that's a done deal. You've got a Republican governor coming in November. Having said that, the fact when Eric Swalwell got out of the race, that started the Javier Becerra ascent, Becerra then started to get a lot more traction because that Swalwell support went to somebody and a lot of it went to Becerra, and that's why he's in that top spot right now. So we'll see. I think it's feeling to me like Steve Hilton and Javier Becerra in as winners of the primary, but we'll see. I don't know.
Emily Finn
Yeah, I don't know.
David Brody
I make predictions when I'm wrong.
Emily Finn
I just wouldn't trust him to be able to answer any questions. As the leader of California, why are the fires happening? Oh, I thought this was a profile piece. Why is there homeless? Oh, I thought this was a profile piece, like, gosh, that was so, so damaging.
David Brody
Stop asking me questions. Stop asking me hard questions.
Terrence Bates
Should have been damaging whether. Whether, you know, that will resonate and whether voters will say, he's an idiot. No, I'm not going to do that. That's a whole different conversation.
Emily Finn
Good point. Good point. All right, still to come on American Sunrise, I'm standing by with the top story that I'm keeping my eye on today. The one to Watch is after the break, and it's a good one. We're also talking about California. You don't want to miss it. Stay with us.
Terrence Bates
All right.
Emily Finn
Welcome back to American Sunrise. I'm Emily Finn. Thank you so much for being with us this morning. It is time now for the One to Watch, and I am keeping my eye on the race for Los Angeles mayor this morning as candidate Spencer Pratt releases a fresh new campaign ad. You have to see this. Let's take a look.
David Brody
Oh, no.
Emily Finn
No sound. Oh, you're killing me.
Terrence Bates
Sing it.
Emily Finn
All right.
David Brody
Sing it.
Emily Finn
I don't know the lyrics as well as I should, but I do know the show very well. And this is a song that he put together with his team. He's been kind of going viral. He did a remake of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song. You can definitely see on your screen right now that he was leaning into the character leaning in to this side, this theme. You know, this is something that has been really interesting for Spencer Pratt. I just got back from Los Angeles actually, just yesterday, and it is definitely Pratt Summer. He has been going viral on social media with clips like this. A lot of use of AI as well to take on Karen Bass. And I'm curious to see, David and Terrence, your thoughts on how Spencer Pratt has been running this campaign. It's been quite unprecedented from my perspective.
David Brody
Yeah.
Nicholas Hoelscher
Yeah.
David Brody
I mean, he is the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. And it's too bad we don't have the sound, but it's really, really good. It's excellent. The first thing I take it to myself is like, yes, of course. Sure. Why not? Why not? I mean, this is the day and age of, you know, we don't want stuffy politicians anymore. I think he's playing to a general sense of anger out there. And Karen Bass still is leading the race. The LA mayor right now, she's got about 30%. He's got 22%. The election, the primary will be June 2nd, like we talked about in the governor's race as well. Yeah, absolutely. Candidates like this can win today. And I'm glad. I'm not endorsing anything Spencer Pratt has to say as it relates to any of his public policy positions, but I endorse the idea. You do have it.
Emily Finn
Oh, there we go.
News Anchor
All right, let's hear it.
David Brody
Let's hear it. In West Los Angeles, Palisades, my backyard is where I spend most of my days feeding hummingbirds, relaxing all cool, avoiding
Nicholas Hoelscher
all the bones outside of the school.
Steve Gruber
When a couple politicians, the world to
David Brody
no good, started making trouble in my neighborhood, I got at one little fire,
Dr. Gina
my mom got scared and said, you're moving in with Harvey Levin in Bel Air.
Emily Finn
I just think this was so such genius, genius production on this campaign ad. Really interesting. I'll be keeping a close eye on this race as well. But thank you so much to all of our viewers for tuning in today. We so appreciate you waking up early with us. War Room is up next. Go boldly now.
David Brody
See everybody.
