life sleep lot of money. Between Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, prison fees, everything that goes into the criminal migrant problem in the United States of America. It's a lot of money. And again, I talk about the American people. We're a generous country. We're a generous people. I love that about this country. But part of that generosity is that it extends to our fellow Americans. We cannot give Medicare and Medicaid benefits to everybody all over the world. It's going to bankrupt those programs and they ought to belong to Americans first. And that, to me is the fundamental meaning of America first is that all of us take a look at our programs, take a look at the fraud, and we say, how do we ensure that the federal government works for the American people first? That's what we're doing every single day. And we're going to keep at it. Thank you, guys.
Steve Bannon
And there you have J.D. vance laying out fraud as he decides where to focus the efforts in clawback and fraud. We'll talk more about that coming up. Also, we'll talk about Donald Trump in China. But first, let's start here. I'm going to lay it out right for you today so you understand how you can do your part. Expose the radical left, because that's what the Democrat Party is now. There's no question about it. Most of America has no interest in the agenda that the radical left is out to accomplish. Democrats love to sound moderate in public, but their policies open borders, sky high energy taxes, gender ideology in schools, and using government to punish their opponents. They all come straight from the same radical playbook that wants to defund the police, pack the Supreme Court, and tear down our constitutional freedoms. The way we win is by shining a bright light on that connection and refusing to let them hide. Senator John Fetterman is a Democrat, but he told Bill Maher on his show that he's feeling increasingly lonely on an island as a Democrat who doesn't want to pander to the most extreme factions in his party. Here he is.
Senator John Fetterman
When your values haven't changed, but the party really has changed, and it's kind of put you at odds.
Bill Maher
Yeah, you used the term increasingly lonely. You said you feel increasingly lonely as a Democrat. Do you want to unburden yourself and tell us about that?
Senator John Fetterman
Yeah, well, I mean, some people think it's like a glamorous life, and it is not, at least for me. You know, we have plainly. No, I mean, I mean, from a lonely perspective, you know, things that used to be part of our values here as a party, that they're shifted now, whether it's like specifically Israel and the Jewish community and now also the border security and then also recently the two longest shutdowns in history. And I've, you know, had to vote against the caucus. I don't, I don't enjoy that. But we used to be the party that would always refuse to shut the government down, and now we now have shut it down and dropped a lot of mass chaos, and I just couldn't be a part of that.
Steve Bannon
And look, government shutdowns aren't Even the top 10 for the worst of it. His party is openly embracing socialism. In fact, they brag about it. Another thing that Fetterman and Maher agree on. And it's not a good thing. Here's more.
Bill Maher
Yeah, I think we get the same charge levied against us that we're picking fights with the left. We're not picking fights, we're just not avoiding them. I mean, you used the term an orgy of socialism recently. You said that what you see, what you see in the Democratic Party. I do, too.
Senator John Fetterman
Yeah. Well, I mean, you have. Whether it's like the mayor in Seattle, I mean, she's absolutely a socialist in New York and a lot of these candidates across the country, and that's really moving towards that. And people that are proud to be labeled as a socialist, that used to be like, was a smear when I was running my first cycle, and now that's becoming more normalized. And now I think that's a very dangerous, slippery slope for us to be. And now I've spoke to people that had to live under socialism and, or communism, and they are like, they are morons if they think that socialism is the answer.
Steve Bannon
Morons. Look, these are two lifelong Democrats who for some reason can't see the leftist light, but they're begging their party to return to reason and common sense, to actually listen to the American voters. I'm here to tell you I don't think that day is ever going to come. Now, I think that ship has sailed. I mean, look around. Which is why it's imperative that Republicans remind Americans of that truth this year, over and over and over. One path to the left continues the slide toward bigger government, cultural division, and declining American strength. The other, on the right, fights put you first, the American citizen, restore common sense, and rebuild national confidence. We're still paying the price for Biden's handling of our southern border. And Trump's been highlighting the price that angel moms in particular have had to pay for those reckless and, frankly, deadly policies. Here he is.
Donald Trump
Among those with us this afternoon are a number of the angel moms who saw their precious children stolen from them by the open border policies of the radical left. Open borders, I call them stupid borders, not open. I call them stupid borders by stupid people that put them there and the migrant criminals that let. They let them pour into our country. And bad things happened. Bad things happened. 25 million people came into our country. Many of them were criminals. Many of them were murderers. They allowed them in with their open border policy of stupidity. These incredibly brave and resilient women have turned terrible tragedy into unyielding resolve, becoming advocates so that their mothers do not have to endure the same heartache that they've felt. How anybody can vote for these people is hard to believe. Okay? It's hard to believe.
Steve Bannon
Hard to believe. And that's what the GOP needs to be drilling down and delivering every day. How could you ever, in your right mind, elect leaders who made these Women's Mother's Day celebrations a nightmare? Or how about the nightmare that's still going on in blue cities like over in Illinois, where the DOJ just launched an investigation into 36 Illinois school districts caught secretly transitioning kids behind the backs of their parents. These schools were pushing radical gender ideology in the classroom, changing kids names and pronouns and hiding it all from mom and dad. No notice, no consent, nothing. The radical left turned public schools into their own little social engineering labs. And thanks to the current administration, hopefully they might actually be held accountable. No one's calling out the crazy, because they all know that that's the future of their party and they want to be able to ride the wave. That's the plan, plain and simple. Ever since Donald Trump descended that escalator, the Democrats have tried to paint Republicans as the party of bullies, of violent insurrectionists, of racists. Even this week, we've seen that it's quite the opposite. Here's how Michigan Democrat Senate candidate Abdul El Sayed plans on battling the opposition. Here's what he said. We need Democrats who have the courage to stand up to the power brokers in our own party, let alone Trump and his go. We don't back down. We don't back down. We don't back down. With all due respect, if they go low, we don't go high. We take them to the mud and choke them out. Choke them out. How lovely. How passive, huh? And that's the new Democrat brand of messaging. I know, because there's more. Here's Tennessee State Representative Justin Jones losing his mind over the redistricting efforts in his home state. Watch this. Let me ask you something. Do you recall any Republicans, any conservatives, any MAGA people burning flags on the 6th of January? Because I don't yet. This is what's going on in Tennessee's state House. All because the legislature is drawing new congressional maps in response to a Supreme Court decision. And I don't recall Republicans doing this in Virginia when they drew up an unconstitutional map, do you? These are the Democrats more radical and violent than they could ever make us out to be, Period. Marginalizing the radical left is a winning play. We've already seen it in action. Trump endorsed candidates last week, knocked out rhinos and moderates who won't fight the left and fight for you. He went 27 for 27. And in the Los Angeles mayor race, Spencer Pratt, interesting guy. A populist who is sick of what the radical left is doing. He's making serious inroads now. Now, pigs might fly before LA votes for a Republican to be mayor, but in some polls, some polls, as many as 89% of people felt that he won the debate last week. Why? Because he called things like they were and called out the radical left for refusing to acknowledge reality. Here's part of it.
Spencer Pratt
The reality is, no matter how many beds you give these people, they are on super meth, they are on fentanyl. The DEA statistics says 93% of this is a drug addiction problem. Nithya. Councilwoman Robin's plan for treatment. First, I will go below the Harbor Freeway tomorrow with her and we can find some of these people she's going to offer treatment for. She's going to get stabbed in the neck. These people do not want a bed. They want fentanyl or super meth. These ideas cost us over $400 million to house. What did he say? 3,000 people for 400 million. This is absolute failure for both of them.
Steve Bannon
An absolute failure. And even better, he didn't let his opponents gain any ground by trying to use maga Republican as some sort of a smear. Catch this moment.
Los Angeles Mayor Candidate
I'm not sure how to respond to that vision of Los Angeles. This is a MAGA Republicans idea of what Los Angeles looks like. This is. This is really not this.
Steve Bannon
They just can't get us with that anymore. We're done with it. We have nothing to hide, nothing to be ashamed of. And they cannot say the same. Clearly, this November, the choice could not be more clear. One party has been captured by its radical wing open borders, boys and girls, sports, secret transitions in school, and government weaponized against its own citizens. The other party is finally fighting back for secure borders, safe streets, parental rights, and thank God, common sense. Democrats can't hide it anymore. Even their own like Fetterman are admitting the extremes are dragging the whole party off a cliff. While they burn flags, scream in capitals and call for violence against opposition. We're offering strength, sanity and an America first agenda that puts citizens over ideology. The winning playbook is simple, friends. Don't chase the middle. Drag the radical left into the spotlight and force every voter to see what the modern Democratic Party actually stands for. Marginalize the crazies, expose the agenda and give the American people a clear contrast between decline and renewal. Look, this is our moment to reject the chaos, restore real leadership and take our country back. Let's go win these midterms because I'm not giving up. And you shouldn't either. And that's the monologue coming up after the break. President Trump is now in China, gearing up his efforts with a highly anticipated meeting with the dictator Xi Jinping at Real America's Voice. I heart Radio. Welcome back. President Trump arrived in Beijing this morning. It was live right here on Real America's Voice on Daybreak ahead of a high stakes summit with Chinese dictator Xi Jinping set to begin tomorrow. The meeting comes as the Chinese Communist Party continues to escalate pressure on Taiwan with military drills, airspace incursions and warnings against US Support for the island democracy. Iran and the Strait of Hormuz also expect to be a major topic of discussion, a region that China heavily depends on for oil imports. And I guarantee that China is feeling the burn from the US Imposed blockade. The summit is shaping up as a defining test of whether the US can reassert its strength against the ccp, defend Taiwan and prevent Iran from destabilizing the world economy. Join me to discuss is retired US army colonel and author of the book Earn It Lifetimes and Leadership, Colonel Wes Martin. Colonel, thank you for being here.
Colonel Wes Martin
It's a pleasure.
Steve Bannon
Let's talk about it. Obviously, Iran is the most immediate conversation point between Beijing and Washington. Iron Iran's limit of oil being exported certainly impacting China more than probably any other country. So that's going to be an important talking point. What do you expect? Because we know that China is openly backing Iran with munitions and other equipment. Where do we go in that conversation?
Colonel Wes Martin
President Trump is going to have to be direct on that because Iran is the number one nation state exporter of terrorism in the world and it's been attacking the free world ever since 1979 when it came into power. President Trump has got to be firm that this regime needs to be brought down. The people need to once again rule their country, which they're ready to do. One thing before we proceed, I'd like to back up something John Featherman said with a reminder of what Ronald Reagan once said when people asked him why he left the Democrat Party. Reagan said, I didn't leave the party. The party left me. The Republican Party is fine in itself. As the Democrat Party has gone further to the left. I know there's all kinds of detractors who Say we should try to tolerate Iran, but Iran does not tolerate freedom. It does not tolerate Israel. It does not tolerate the United States, nor Western Europe.
Steve Bannon
You're exactly right about all of that. And Fetterman. You know, my feeling, Colonel, is that Fetterman is going to lead the Democratic Party. I don't believe he becomes a Republican, and he's a lifelong Democrat, and I get that. But he'd be far better suited as an independent. Of course, the Democrat will pull. Democrats will pull out the biggest war chest they can find to take him out of the next election. But look, he's not buying into anything that they're selling these days. And why would he? It is insanity packaged as. I don't even know what. Sir, it's an American fringe on open borders and men in sports and everything else. Look, he represents Pennsylvania. That state doesn't buy into any of that either. I mean, that's the crossroads we're at, isn't it?
Colonel Wes Martin
It's totally where we're at. And one of the things that Trump's going to have to address with Xi Jinping is the fentanyl crisis, as you showed. I'm from Albuquerque. We feel the effects of that because a year ago, there was a bust by DIA in the Sheriff's Department. 2.7 million fentanyl pills in a single bust. That has got to come to a stop. And unfortunately, we have both an extremely liberal mayor who declares it an immigrant city, immigrant friendly city, as opposed to sanctuary city, and he has renamed the war zone the international zone. So we're feeling the effects of what's going on in China, and President Trump has got to be totally firm.
Steve Bannon
I agree with you on that. Look, in my estimation, I've said it on this program before, China creates the components for fentanyl, then it is shipped to places like Mexico, where it is combined into the final product and shipped to the United States. More recent estimates say that the number of people dying from fentanyl might be 125,000 or more, because the number of deaths are clearly underestimated in this country, because a lot of places don't have the technology to determine why somebody died. So it's put as an accidental overdose with no baseline for fentanyl. China doing what they're doing, creating the components for that drug and then shipping them to Mexico, to me, is an act of war. I don't know how else you would look at 125,000Americans a year or more dying on American soil because of a product produced in China. Let's Just be honest about that, Colonel.
Colonel Wes Martin
It is. And it's a crime against humanity because people are dying, as you pointed out, at an unbelievable rate. And when we talk about the United States, and again, we'll talk about New Mexico, Interstate 25 comes straight up from Mexico, connects with 40 in Albuquerque, 70 in Denver, 80 in Cheyenne. That's the spine of the drugs coming in to the United States. I recently did four major articles on this very problem. And we've got to take the problem back to the source, stop the Chinese from doing what they're doing. Xi Jinping has the power to do that. It's a communist country. He controls everything. And I was right up front at the very beginning with the virus. It happened to come out of the very city Wuhan, where they have a biological research laboratory. That was not a coincidence. China is doing a lot of behind the lines. And now we're looking at the Belt and Road Initiative, and they've already pushed that into Africa, through Europe, into Asia, and then they're grabbing islands, trying to grab, making artificial islands and trying to claim land that belongs to Japan and the Philippines. We're talking about a very aggressive country that has gotten away with too much for too long.
Steve Bannon
Which brings me to one point where I disagree with the President currently, and that is 700,000 Chinese students coming to America every year. They steal our intellectual property. They're in our research laboratories. They're all over the United States. President Trump says, well, if we don't bring them, colleges and universities will go out of business. And I frankly, I don't care. It's a direct threat to the United States and 700,000 Chinese nationals or more in this country spying on us every day. Everybody knows it. We need to stop that last word to you.
Colonel Wes Martin
I agree with you on that. And I remember when I was running the Operations Security program for Sandia National Labs, Department of Energy, Albuquerque, and I pointed out in the turn of the century, the problem with China spying on our networks. And China has a very aggressive computer network exploitation and computer network attack program. Fortunately, Cyber Command has now been fired up so that we can fight back. But for a long time, they had the run of the mill.
Steve Bannon
Colonel Wes Martin, good conversation. Thank you for being here. I look forward to talking to you again, sir.
Colonel Wes Martin
Thank you, sir.
Steve Bannon

Just minutes ago on Capitol Hill, Kevin Wash has been confirmed as the new Fed chair. 54:45. Of course, the Democrats standing opposed to it. No surprise there. He becomes the 17th Federal Reserve chair. He is Donald Trump's pick and we certainly hope that he has a better ride than Jerome Powell. Democrats are going into the midterms with no clear message and no clear leader. A shocking new CNN poll shows Democrats are fading. Head to the midterms. No matter what you hear, this is important. Check this out.
CNN Chief Data Analyst Harry Anton
But I think this poll serves as a big time reality check for Democrats. And that is it ain't over yet. Especially with the redistricting. When we look ahead to the 2026 race for Congress, you would have thought that the Democrats lead would expand on the generic congressional ballot. It didn't happen. Look, in March, Democrats were up by six points. Look at this now Democrats are up by three points. And I want you to note the yellow lettering. No clear leader. It is within the margin of error. So despite all of the talk about Donald Trump's unpopularity, the fact is Republicans Very much remain in the game when it comes to the congressional midterms, which are occurring in what, six or seven months at this point.
Real America's Voice Narrator
Yeah.
Steve Bannon
You know, you can look at polls that show Donald Trump at 42, 43% support. You look at that and you realize whatever the Democrats are selling, from Mamdani in New York to little Mamdani's popping up around the country openly avowed socialists, they're selling something people are not buying. The Democrat Party, listen to me, is going to be a regional party when the dust settles. Redistricting and people coming to their senses. Because I've talked to a number of lifelong Democrats just in the last few weeks who say they can't support this. They're much like John Fetterman. They're like, where has my party gone? We'll continue to watch it for you. Here's more of CNN's chief data analyst Harry Anton breaking down why redistricting will be the key to the red team controlling the House next year. Listen, a lead of three points in the generic ballot test here. Does that get the job done?
CNN Chief Data Analyst Harry Anton
No, no, it might not actually get the job done. And I love any reference to airplane plan. I will say and Leslie Nielsen, look at this. Okay, take a look here. Democrats in the national House vote margin, according to my estimate, what they need for control with redistricting in terms of the national popular vote is somewhere of a win between three and four points. What's CNN's current poll? With no clear leader, it's a three point advantage. If this were in fact the actual result come election Day, the race for Congress, the race for the House would be basically a toss up. And that is why the redistricting efforts that have been happening are so important. Because before the redistricting happened, Democrats essentially just needed to win the national House popular vote in order to win control of the House of Representatives. But now with the redistricting, their ladder, they have to climb ever higher and a three point win may very well not do it. This is well within the realm of possibilities. Could be Democrats take back the House. You know, if Democrats outperform the CNN pulled by a few points, they take it back. But they could underperform as well and that would be big time.
Steve Bannon
Ah, yes. You see, Democrats went to the, well a little bit too often. They radically gerrymandered all of New England, Illinois, New York, California for sure. Now Republicans are saying, well, we can do that. And if we continue to follow them and watch them flip states like Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, Florida and Texas, well, the outcome could be very different now, couldn't it? Do you owe back taxes or have unfiled tax returns filed every year but still keep owing? Retired and got hit with a big surprise bill? Are you a business owner and you just can't make the payment? Did you take early retirement? You're getting punished for it from the irs. Well, however your tax issue started, the result? Sadly it's the same. Your balance is not going down, penalties grow interest compounds, and many of you are about to owe again this year with no plan in place. Stop what you're doing and call Tax Network usa. The IRS can garnish wages, levy bank accounts and even take your home or retirement. With over 15 years in business, they have seen and resolved it all, helping taxpayers Nationwide settle over $1 billion in tax debt. I heart Radio. Well, with college graduation season here, many young Americans are walking across a stage with a dream degree in one hand and a sack of debt in the other. With student loans climbing past $35,000 for many graduates, some reaching six figures, questions are growing about whether universities are prioritizing education or if they're selling some sort of a luxury retreat with food courts and swimming pools. Some education reformers now say it's time for colleges to trim the extras, refocus on academics. Gosh, what an idea. And better prepare students for life after the classroom. Jeremy Discuss is one of those experts, Campus Reform's editor in chief, Zachary Marshall. Zachary, nice to see you on a Wednesday. Look, I've been. I've been yelling this from the mountaintops for a long time. They're sending kids out the door with communications degrees or, you know, pick whatever degree it is that has no actual world value. These kids can't get jobs. They've got 30, 40, $50,000 in debt, sometimes significantly more, and no chance of ever paying it off. That's a problem. That's a huge problem, isn't it?
Zachary Marshall
You're absolutely right. And this is a tipping point. I think the bubble is about to burst here because we now have private universities like Fordham University, like University of Chicago, doing tuition at $100,000 a year. That's almost half a million dollars when you factor in cost of living on top of that. And that's just unsustainable. So universities need not only to slim down, but they need to make their institutions more resemble monasteries. You are there to learn and you are there to grow as a person. The facilities should be comfortable, they should be clean, but they do not need to be so ornate and decorative. We don't need Michael Bloomberg giving millions of dollars to beautify Johns Hopkins University. We don't need University of Chicago to be increasing the number of students they are going to admit starting next year to pay for the bills they're already in debt over. This is a call for austerity and colleges need to practice austerity.
Steve Bannon
Yeah, right. Now, I just read last week that Penn State University eliminating 49 majors and closing seven remote campuses. And look, this is an indication of what's to come across this country. Kids are not going to college the way they used to. And there's a reason for that. All that debt doesn't equal a good paying job. Oftentimes it just means struggling for the first 20 years of your life. Look, Zach, here's my solution, all right? I think these universities and colleges should be co signers on the loan. When these kids get a loan and they're still in debt five or ten years later, pick your point on the calendar, and these kids still haven't paid off their debt, or they haven't got a job in the field that they were told was going to Be great for them because, look, the sales pitches are great. Oh, you come to our school, we're this, we're that, blah, blah, blah. I think putting them on as co signers would straighten it out pretty quickly. What are your thoughts?
Zachary Marshall
You know, that's really interesting. There could be a market solution because you could tell universities, you know, tie price of tuition to a market rate and say if you're over that rate, then you have to be a cosigner. I think the more external pressure universities face, the more they will respond to it. And that we've seen that time and time again when it comes to things like Title 6 investigations, the freezing of federal funds, of lawsuits from the Trump administration, Universities are responding to that. And they've cut a lot of DEI programs because of the state bans and the federal bans. Change will never come from the inside of universities without more conservatives and moderates there. So I think the more we can do outside to put pressure on it, the more it will work.
Steve Bannon
Yeah, this scheme really got rolling about 15 years ago when President Obama put the United States government in charge of 99% of all student loans. And this is a scheme and here's why. All these kids paying monthly, it's a nice little bit of cash flow revenue for the United States government. It's terrible for the students, it's terrible for business. They have unproductive degrees. But it's a heck of a business plan. Last word to you?
Zachary Marshall
Well, you know, in my op ed for the Washington examiner out this week, I call on universities to completely reorient it what they are for. They are not for everybody, nor should they be. They should be for the people who are there to work. We don't need people to go to universities when there are trade schools, when there are community colleges, when there's work to military programs. You know, everyone's different. We are a diverse country. There should not be just one option for our life after high school.
Steve Bannon
Yeah, exactly right. Zachary Marshall, always good to talk to you, my friend. Thank you.
Brendan Steinhauser
Thanks.
Steve Bannon

I heart Radio. As we've been discussing since Air Force One touchdown live in real America's Voice this morning, President Trump is in China for his summit with Chinese dictator Xi Jinping. Artificial intelligence quickly emerging is one of the most critical issues on the table. According to new reports, the White House is weighing whether the US And China should establish basic guardrails around advanced AI systems, including emerging models like the controversial Mythos platform. Both superpowers are racing ahead in AI development while fears grow over cybersecurity risks, military applications, and the potential for technology to spread a lot of control. Joining me to discuss is the CEO for the alliance for Secure AI, Brendan Steinhauser. Brendan, nice to see you this Wednesday. I think one of the concerns that I've heard raised is putting AI in charge of nuclear weapons, for example. I don't think we want computers making decisions like that. Certainly. I'm also concerned about autonomous drones on the battlefield that have no empathy. They just seek and destroy. They don't have any way to mitigate what they're looking at. These are very, I don't know, very disturbing developments. I mean, AI can be great, but if it's in the wrong application, it can be really dangerous. Your thoughts?
Brendan Steinhauser
Yes, Steve, that's exactly right. And the Chinese and the American government did sort of come to an agreement that, you know, giving AI the ability to be in charge of nuclear weapons would be a terrible idea. Now, that's the first step. We have to sort of make sure that that never happens. But to your point, there's also this movement toward autonomous weapons, and we're seeing that happening around the world. And if you give AI control over drones that are tipped with very, you know, powerful weapons, missiles and other other tools to kill people, then, yeah, you could see where this gets out of control, especially given that we've already, we've already seen that AI cannot be controlled and you can't get it to do what you want it to do when it's doing a simple task, much less targeting people or targeting military equipment. So it's something that is of grave concern.
Steve Bannon
Yeah, grave concern. So as we've Discussed many times. And it becomes a discussion. It's almost daily. Look, let's be honest. People are talking about the. The God switch, as I call it, in your automobile that can shut the vehicle down. We talk about, you know, that being a problem. We also talk about good things. AI might be able to diagnose people with severe illnesses quicker than a doctor running through it because they can run all the analysis quickly. So there are real benefits to AI in a variety of places. Look, I like the fact that when my car is going down the road, if I start to drift a little bit, it pushes me back in the lane, but I don't want the car telling me whether or not I'm allowed to drive it. So there are some disconnects, aren't there?
Brendan Steinhauser
There really are, yeah. We talk about how we want to see narrow AI, which means we use it for the things we want to use it for, in ways that serve humanity, that make our lives better, that make us wealthier, that allow us to solve hard problems in medicine and science and technology. What we don't want to develop is an artificial super intelligence, something that just far exceeds human capability and intellect, and that could be a really dangerous thing. And I would really like to see this president take that message to Xi Jinping this week and say, look, we can compete on the commercial front. Obviously we're going to do that, but let's find a way to make a deal to ban artificial superintelligence globally. And I think there's nobody probably who could get this done other than Donald Trump, given he is the. The man that is, you know, the art of the deal. And also he's positioning himself from a. From a position of strength. And I think Ronald Reagan did this with the Soviet Union in the 80s to great effect, and help, you know, end the Cold War. I think Donald Trump could do that here with Xi Jinping.
Steve Bannon
Here's the problem, Brendan. Let's just be blunt about this. China lies, and they do it very well. They're not there to be honest brokers and at all. And so they'll say, okay, we make a deal, we won't do any of these things. While they continue to do all of those things. The Wuhan lab comes to mind. There was testimony on Capitol Hill today. Clearly the CIA knew in August of 2021 that's where the virus came from. The Chinese lied about it. They lied about how dangerous it was, where it originated from, and we capitulated during the Biden years. That's a problem. So we need to make sure. That if we have a deal with China, there is a way to secure it. Because President Reagan also said this, trust but verify your thoughts.
Brendan Steinhauser
He absolutely did. You're exactly right. And that was an old Russian proverb that he liked to quote. And he was right about that. These, this agreement would have to be verified and enforced. And President Trump has done this in the past with other dictatorial leaders, like in Afghanistan, the Taliban, for example, when he was in in charge of the foreign policy there before the Biden pullout. And Trump basically said, do what I'm asking you to do or there will be terrible consequences and they will be personal. I think the enforcement side of this has to be front and center. And I know the Chinese understand that Donald Trump says what he means and means what he says. And so I think, you know, coming in with the enforcement side is extremely important. And look, the thing we can do between now and then is also continue to have a policy that denies China our most powerful chips. We cannot allow them to smuggle in our semiconductor chips. We cannot sell them the chips. We have to do export controls and we have to enforce those with location verification to make sure that those ships are not actually going to China.
Steve Bannon
Well, another weak link potentially in all of this, couple of things. Number one, Taiwan, one of the largest producers of semiconductors in the world, China continues to play military games around the island. Strangely, some of these underwater communications cables that transfer information. In fact, our economy relies on these underwater cables almost exclusively. And strangely enough, Brandon, in the last couple of years, several cables around Taiwan have been damaged. Strange, but true. We have vulnerabilities, don't we?
Brendan Steinhauser
We do. And we need to continue to onshore manufacturing. We need to be more self reliant. We need to put America first in terms of semiconductors. That's something that I know the President has been talking about. We need to continue to support that. And we have to be tough with China as it relates to Taiwan. I think nobody wants to get into a conflict in Asia, but I think that deterrence means again positioning yourself from a stature of strength and telling them we mean business and we intend to pursue American interests. And so I think again, this President has, if nothing else, he has communicated with seriousness and strength to foreign leaders. I think people like Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin only understand strength. And so I think Donald Trump is well positioned to have that conversation as well, to say, don't try anything stupid in Taiwan. Our economy and our national security interests depend upon the status quo and avoiding a Chinese takeover.
Steve Bannon
Yeah, another weak link And I'll wrap it up with this. But another weak link. Rare earth elements are not rare. It's a misnomer. But refining capacity in the United States is not much. We have one company gearing up to do it. One, China has 90% of the refining capacity for rare earth elements on the planet. Do you think the president could impose something like the Defense Production act to say, look, we need to get cracking on this. We need to really put some resources in it and get the refining capacity up to where it needs to be so we can produce our own stuff here in the United States? Last word to you, Brendan.
Brendan Steinhauser
I do think he could do that. I'm sure the Pentagon is looking at that. I'm sure the president is looking at that as an option because you're right. This is something that is getting more attention in the last few years as people understand how valuable these rare earth minerals are and how critical they are to our national security. So I do think again, if any president can do that and sort of put us on the right path, it's President Trump.
Steve Bannon
Brendan, greatly appreciate you being here. Good conversation. Look forward to talking to you again, sir.
Brendan Steinhauser
Thank you, Steve.

Episode: "Trump Meets Xi in China, GOP Exposes Dem Extremes for Midterms"
Host: Steve Bannon, iHeartPodcasts
Date: May 13, 2026
This episode of America's Voice Live, hosted by Steve Bannon, delivers robust commentary and interviews surrounding two critical themes:
Throughout, the episode highlights concerns about border security, government overreach, socialism, the fentanyl crisis, AI and national security with China, the realignment of party loyalties, and the state of higher education.
[03:13-04:11]
[05:16-07:40]
[04:11-09:27]
Bannon asserts that Democrats are being driven by their most radical elements, listing:
Emphasizes contrasting party visions: “One path to the left continues the slide toward bigger government, cultural division, and declining American strength. The other... fights to put you first, the American citizen.” (07:49)
Donald Trump at a rally uses stories of "angel moms” (women whose children were killed by undocumented immigrants) to criticize Democratic border policy.

Throughout, Bannon and guests maintain a combative, urgent, and unfiltered tone—aiming to rouse the GOP base, challenge what they see as mainstream media bias, and position themselves as the voice for "common sense" and "America First" values. The language is direct, often hyperbolic, blending political messaging with strong warnings about socialism, American decline, tech threats, and "radical" policies.
For listeners:
This episode lays out the 2026 Republican strategy, paints a dire portrait of the Democratic Party’s direction, and adds context to Trump’s diplomacy with China. It offers a preview of critical battleground issues for the upcoming midterms, with strong emphasis on border security, education, China, and party realignment.
