According to an article in the New York Times, Charlie was right. College is a spirit scam. And maybe you should rethink going and spending all that money on something that won't necessarily get you a good job. We will definitely touch on the firing of Jimmy Kimmel and I recognize he's just been suspended, but in TV terms, suspended indefinitely usually means you gone. Find out why he should have been fired and not what the live media is saying. This is censorship by the government. All that's a bunch of hogwash. But speaking of censorship, this the communist ice cream makers Ben and Jerry have fallen apart. Jerry has left Ben and Jerry's because he feels like he's being censored. Find out the irony of the folks who support some of the ridiculous causes that they support doing what they did that put him in this position. All that and more coming up on this episode of Turning Point tonight. My name is Joe Bob. Thanks so much for tuning in. Together we are charting the course of America's cultural comeback. This is Turning Point tonight. Now, before we get to any of the stories that we're going to talk about today, I got to remind you you can email the show anytime you want. Tptpusa.com we will read some of those emails later on in the show. People have been sending memories and well wishes for Charlie. They've also been commenting on some of the stories that we've talked about today. And I would imagine, especially if you read Charlie's book, the College Scam, you will have some thoughts on what the New York Times is saying that effectively agrees with what he said. Again, TPTP USA.com for all of your emails. Now, before we get to the other stories of the day, got to get to what I think is the biggest story of the day. Turning Point USA has named a new CEO and Chair of the board, Erica Kirk. It Only seems fitting. It is. It makes the most sense. Erica is one of the strongest, bravest, most courageous women that I've had the pleasure of meeting. And I think everybody in the Turning Point universe is. Is. I don't want to say excited about this because we understand that it comes at a. At an awful time and because of an awful thing. But nobody, I think, could come in and do what Erica will do. Everyone is excited about her taking the mantle and continuing to run. Obviously, nobody can fill Charlie's shoes. He was one of a kind. He was one of the most unique individuals to walk the planet, if we're being honest. We recognize there's no replacing Charlie, but Erica is going to do a fantastic job. I will say this, and I've said this so many times during the week. In the face of horrific and unimaginable grief, Erica has been unbelievably impressive. I've said I couldn't do what she has done in the timeframe that she's been able to do it. You know, when she came out on Friday and said, I'm doing a press conference and stood up there like a brick wall and gave an eloquent speech, I said I couldn't have done that. So, you know, everybody in the Turning Point community is on board. Erica Kirk is the correct choice. Welcome in the new CEO and Chairman of the board, Erica Kirk. I'm excited to see what she does with the organization, and I don't want to be too disparaging. I'm excited to see how she will crush all of the libs. You know why I know she's going to do that? Because of this clip that was floating around that I decided to pull of Charlie and Erica interacting in on the Charlie Kirk Show. This is why I think, I mean, among many other reasons, obviously the strength she's shown throughout all of this. But this is why I think Turning Point is going to be a massive player for the foreseeable future, especially with Erica at the helm. Watch. Clip 1. My wife joins us. Erica Kirk, the beautiful, legendary Erica.
C
I love you so much.
A
I love you. You're my best friend. Welcome to the Charlie Kirk Show. We have asked the audience for questions. You pick one. Who is more conservative and why?
D
Erica.
C
Yes.
A
By far, not even close. I am a moderate to Erica. Andrew always jokes that once you got married to me, you got more based.
D
That's true.
A
That is true. No, Erica is very conservative. Do you think having kids made you more conservative? 100%, which I didn't think was possible, but 100%.
C
Absolutely.
A
And a better wife. So there you have it. Charlie himself saying that Erica is more conservative than he is. He also asked, you know, has having kids made you more conservative? And she said, yeah, you know, hard to believe, but, but yes, it has. Which I just, you know, the, I think I've mentioned it on the show before. When I first told Charlie my wife and I were having a daughter, the first thing he said was, that'll radicalize you. Yep. I, I, it's hard to imagine something that has been more true that he's ever said to me personally, but that is accurate. Turning Point. Nobody has any doubt, nobody had any doubt Erica is going to, to lead this organization. We were in great hands. Part of the, the press release the Turning Point put out reminded people that, you know, of Charlie's, you know, I think probably most famous saying, you know, we have a country to save. It also said accurately, we will not surrender or kneel before evil. We will carry on. The attempt to destroy Charlie's work will become our chance to make it more powerful and more enduring than ever before, which, again, I don't know how much I need to reiterate it. Erica is going to do a fantastic job. Every single person in the Turning Point family is behind her 100%, and we are very excited for what the future holds. Now, speaking of the future, what the future will not consist of is the Jimmy Kimmel show. Oh, no, it's so sad. Everybody's shedding tears for the Jimmy Kimmel Show. You know, unless you're watching this show, in which case I would imagine you're laughing or clapping in your couch, which I would agree with. Now, I would like to dispel or debunk some of the things that the libs have been saying. If you've been on the Internet at all today, which, okay, I, I don't want to bury the lead here. In case you don't know, Jimmy Kimmel has been pulled off abc. Uh, he's been suspended indefinitely. I'm saying it's fired because you're, if you're aware of how the media works, when you're suspended indefinitely, usually that means you gone. ABC is taking Jimmy Kimmel off the air and the libs are losing their mind about it. They are saying, oh, my gosh, I can't believe the censorship coming from the Trump administration. Oh, is it censorship coming from the Trump administration? What specifically did they do to censor Jimmy Kimmel? Now the argument is being made that while the chair of the FCC said, hey, you know, if you keep allowing this sort of incredibly slanted behavior on public airwaves. We may have to take a look at the licenses, which is clear and obvious. The question is, and did that actually happen? Did there, Was there the FCC saying, nope, your licenses are gone, they're revoked? Because we do have a system for that, which we'll get to in a little bit. By the way. Spoiler alert. The answer is no, they. They didn't say that. Let's check into some other reasons as to why Jimmy Kimmel may have been fired outside of the authoritarian censorship that the libs are claiming happen. Um, before that, let me actually set this up by playing the clip in question. Uh, now the clip is much longer and some libs, the dumber ones, are making the case of, well, they're being attacked because he made a joke about President Trump. No, he didn't. Nobody thinks that. Not even the smart people on the left side of the aisle actually think that. So that argument is bunk. We won't even play the entire clip. It's just the clip that is in question as to why Jimmy Kimmel is being fired. Play clip one. We had some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it. In between the finger. Yeah, that's insane. That's an insane thing to say. With no evidence whatsoever, Jimmy is asserting effectively that the shooter, Charlie's assassin was. Oh, he's a Charlie fan. And not only did he say that, he said it as if. Well, you know, everybody knows that. It's obvious, you know, because we all know this to be true in the smug, condescending, elitist way that he often talks. Well, what are the other reasons that Disney may have decided, nah, this is not something we want to be a part of. Well, from the peak of his ratings, he has lost between 46 and 58%. In other words, well over half of the audience he had at the peak of his show are gone. And that is consistent across all of the late night talk shows. Stephen Colbert, they said, well, Trump is trying to censor him, knows his show cost $40 million and was losing money every year. It's just a simple financial question. Jimmy Kimmel is also making $15 million a year. His contract was up in May and his ratings were down. Maybe this was just an excuse to say, yeah, this is, this is not okay, and we're just going to get out of this before we are required to renegotiate with a show that is losing probably tens of millions of dollars per year. But also I want to dig into the geographic Public Airways distributors or owners. So while the fcc, why the left is blaming the fcc? What actually happened was companies like Sinclair and nexstar, which are broadcasting organizations that carry those public airwaves and therefore the Jimmy Kimmel in a bunch of different places all over the country, those are the guys that were putting pressure on Jimmy Kimmel. Okay, well why would they have done that? Well of course we just talked about his ratings going down. But a lot of those Sinclair and nextstar broadcasting stations are in the middle of the country. And if you think for a second that those types of insensitive and just flat out inaccurate words from the former so called comedian were okay with the people in the middle of the country, you're going to have to think, think again. Because in no way, shape or form do I think the majority of the people that are served the ABC late night show by nexstar or Sinclair are okay with that. There's, there's no way that those people actually think that that is okay. Nextar and Sinclair both issued statements saying, hey, we're gonna not run this show on our platforms. Only then did Disney decide, yeah, we, we actually do need to pull this because it turns out it's a bad business decision. Now if the FCC said to Disney hey, we are pulling your license because we don't like this thing that he said, honestly I would probably be irritated at that too. And don't you think, haven't you heard enough stories of federal judge blocks the Trump administration? And don't you think that would happen in this particular instance if the SEC FC FCC said hey, we're pulling your license, you can't be on the air because you said something that we didn't like. There is a process for that. They can easily file a lawsuit, which I'm sure they have done already in a number of other situations and the courts would work it out whether or not the administration actually has the power to do that. But again that didn't happen. The libs are only saying, well that might have happened. They're alluding to that happen, which, which you know, maybe even could give cover for the business decision of ripping Jimmy off the air because nobody watched him anymore. And the affiliates in the middle part of the country thought this is the last straw, this is the line too far, this cannot continue. Bottom line here is when the FCC is saying that well hey, this is, we're gonna have to take a look at this. In no way, shape or form does that give the libs the right to say, well, specifically, this is authoritarian censorship. Yeah, it's a business decision. Guy made a bad joke. Things happen. Kind of happens all the time, really. And he got fired for doing so. And to be quite honest, like we talked about earlier in the week, what he said, in my opinion, is an opposition to the societal truth that we all hold. And for that reason. Bye. Bye. Uh, you can email the show anytime you want. Tptpusa.com we love seeing all of your emails, especially if they're, you know, memories of Charlie or anything that you've said or would like to say to the Kirk family more broadly. We'll get to some of those emails later on in the show. In addition to that, you can, I think, still buy America Fest tickets. I think the website is still up and the only reason I say that is because there have been so many tickets sold. I actually genuinely don't know. It's kind of hard to get the specific numbers, but the amount of tickets that have been sold have been unbelievable. The response has, has been unimaginable from the, from the entire country. It has been fantastic. I think we're at like 15,000 tickets sold to that. So I again want to encourage you to go to amfest.com buy your tickets for December's America Fest event in Phoenix. And I don't know that you can actually get them. I, I should double check on that. So we will be right back after the break. Don't go away.

Welcome back to Turning Point tonight where together we are charting the course of America's cultural comeback. You can email the show as always@TPT tpusa.com tptpusa.com Send your thoughts on what we're talking about. I don't know. What do you think? Should, should Jimmy Kimmel have been fired. I say yes. And if you disagree, you're wrong. I'm just kidding. We love seeing all of your emails, especially those who are remembering Charlie and sending well wishes to the Kirk family. Tptpusa.com I'm also curious about your thoughts on this. It's fascinating sometimes to see when something is stated in the conservative movement, in this particular case by Charlie and then over the course of time you start to see, oh well, that was right. That was accurate. That was correct. Charlie wrote a book about a year ago called the College Scam. We all know that he went to college campuses and he would debate with college students and, and several of those students would say, you think what I'm doing here is a scam. I'm getting my PhD in animal gender studies or you know, equestrian bio, gender woke something. I don't know. Just make up your own crazy degree and just assume that some of these kids are actually getting a degree in that. That actually would be a fun game. You could probably, you know, find a chart with all of the words on it like gender inequity. Think of your laundry list of buzzwords for libs. And then you could probably like pick five words and that's, you could probably find that as a major on a college campus in some, some university somewhere. But aside from all of that, Charlie would be fervently make the argument that college is a scam. That kids were paying an exorbitant amount of money for something that wouldn't actually result in gainful employment, you know, outside of being a barista at Starbucks. And that's not really to throw shade at anybody who's a barista at Starbucks. That's just to say maybe you shouldn't have spent a hundred thousand dollars getting your PhD in intersectionality or lesbian feminism or whatever it is that they get degrees in nowadays. Well, all that is to say is that, you know, several months, even several years later, we are starting to see the data trickle in that yeah, Charlie was right, college does seem to be a scam. This is from the New York Times. Long term unemployment, people who have been out of work for more than six months. A large, the largest proportion of that group is now college graduates. Nearly 26%, one in four college graduates are now now make up the statistic of the people who have been out of work long term unemployment for up to six months. Wow, who could have seen that coming? Especially with I'm not going to start making up any more gender studies majors. I'm like, I really, I think you probably get the point in naming those ridiculous things, but who could have seen this coming with all of the majors that colleges now charge exorbitant amounts of money for. And we'll get to some of the costs here in a little bit. But I thought this was really interesting. The New York Times went on to say there are simply more college graduates today than there were 10 years ago. Kind of diagnosing the problem, which is what Charlie was saying, hey look, anybody can get into college and if you just pay enough money, you will be able to quote unquote, get a degree. And also the federal government for some reason will give you loans. There are people that are predatory lenders that will give an 18 year old $100,000 in loans. And guess what? Now you're stuck. Those loans don't go away. If you file for bankruptcy, you are stuck in a financial position, position that is not advantageous to you in any way, shape or form. The New York Times is saying now they're just more college graduates so they can't get the jobs that they would have been able to get before colleges lost their mind. Employers also appear to have less need for college educated workers driven by technological change, automation and most recently. This is where I think is funny and I don't agree with this, but this is in the New York Times, President Trump's cut to federal workers and funding. Again, I think this is kind of like a self own there, like you can't, I can't believe this. College, college woke college. Gender studies majors aren't needed anymore because President Trump cut the funding to the things that didn't matter and were wasting taxpayer dollars. And now our gender studies intersectionality, feminist lesbian history majors are out of work. Oh no. Here's an anecdote that the New York Times had in here. I don't need to say her name, has been out of work. This girl in the Portland area has been out of work for almost a year and has applied to more than 3000 jobs. She says, I checked all the boxes of quote unquote success in my life. I went to college, got a degree and worked towards a career, which I think is the perfect argument that Charlie would make in college is a scam. And they told you that this is what you need to do and lo and behold, it didn't work. Not to mention the average cost of college tuition and fees over the last 20 years is up 141% to 179%. In other words, almost really realistically, almost 200% at the upper Ends. College has increased in expense over the last 20 years, and the question of whether or not it increased in value is clearly no, as this New York Times article would exemplify. So in yet another case, a conservative says, hey, this is a problem. We should probably fix it. And years later, the data catches up and says, oh, yeah, this actually was, was correct. College is, in fact, a scam. And a quarter of percent, a quarter of all of the people that are on long term unemployment now have college degrees. It's not too late. You can leave college or you can go to a trade school, or you can learn a skill. Whatever you do, you don't have to stay in the situation that you're in. But like we mentioned, college seems to be a scam for so many people. Now, I want to talk about another scam. I don't know if scam is necessarily the right word, but hilarious irony might be, and that is of the Ben and Jerry's Communist ice cream brand. If you don't know this, Jerry has left Ben and Jerry's again. We're all so sad and devastated because, you know, we were all pulling for Ben and Jerry to stay together. Quite honestly, I just found out that they're not a gay couple. They're just business partners. Or at least I'm led to believe that. But regardless, still sad that the divorce of Ben and Jerry is happening. Well, why is Jerry leaving Ben and Jerry's? In his resignation letter, this is according to npr posted on Tuesday, Jerry Greenfield said he's been silenced, sidelined out of fear of upsetting those in power. Oh, no. I. I can't believe that has happened, that the communist has been silenced by those in power. The question, though, is why are they in power? Why is there any sort of power over an independent business that has grown their company? And they've done really well. I'm not even knocking Ben and Jerry's as an ice cream. I've. I kind of enjoy their ice cream, to be honest with you. And producer Glenn even pointed. They do have some witty names. You know, you might not agree with the political elements of it. Jerry Garcia. Cherry Garcia. Wow. Yeah, it's kind of a fun name. What was the other one that he sent? Empowerment. Yeah, you get it. I get it. I get the joke. I think the ice cream is good. But also, why Jerry of Ben and Jerry's do you have. Do you feel censored? Well, it's because the people that fight for social justice and Inequality in 2000 sold their company for $326 million. Why is it that communists always end up accidentally getting rich? Look, dude, if you take $326 million, which by the way, is $607 million, if you just for inflation, in other words, a lot of freaking money. You know, you just for inflation to kind of like give the relative balance. But even now, $326 million is a lot of money. So I don't even think you need to adjust for inflation as a whole. But if you take that money from those capitalist pigs, yeah, you're gonna have some parameters. You know, it doesn't give you parameters if you don't take the money, if you stay independent and maybe you don't grow as fast, and maybe you have a little bit more difficulty getting into stores. And I realize there's a lot of different variables going on here, but what you can't do is say that, hey, I'm being censored and silenced by the people that gave me $326 million. You know what? I'll be silent for half. Somebody cut me a check for 100. What is that, $63 million. Somebody check my math on that. Email tptp USA.com for $163 million, I will stay silent. I. And happily do, by the way. I'll go buy a big ranch somewhere and just run cattle for the rest of my days. That sounds. That sounds fantastic. Where do I sign up? Bottom line is this. The libs, consistently, for some reason or another, feel like I've being silenced. But you dig a little bit. You always find out that, yeah, you know, you didn't need to be. Maybe, maybe the powers that be, maybe the boss is over there at Unilever, which is the company that bought them for, again, $326 million, are saying, yeah, maybe, you know, lay low a little bit on these super divisive political issues. It's affecting our bottom line. Oh, you wouldn't have that if you actually held to your values of equity and whatever the heck they're talking about. So there's that. Bye, bye, Jerry. And again, I'm sorry for either your divorce or just leaving the company. Again, I'm not entirely sure what the relationship there is like. Coming up, we're going to talk to Monica Page. Turning Points White House correspondent. President Trump has declared a group that doesn't exist, according to Joe Biden, a domestic terror group, which actually, you know, probably needed to be done. But we'll check in with Monica Page, Turning Points White House correspondent. Uh, and also, we're. We're like, I said difficult time to navigate here, but we're going to continue to laugh at the ridiculous nonsense that is put in front of us by the libs. That'll be right after the break. So don't go away. I'll be right back.

Welcome back to Turning Point tonight where together we are charting the course of America's cultural comeback. You can email the show anytime you want. Tptpusa.com we're going to get to more of your emails later on in the show. You know, I would love to first of all, thank all of you for bearing with us through the changes that are kind of being made to the format and kind of how we're doing this. One thing that I know that won't change though, is our check ins with Turning Points White House correspondent Monica Page. Monica Page, you know, there's a lot of stuff going on in the world, but that doesn't mean the White House kind of stops what they're doing. One of the big announcements that I think the president made today as of recently is Antifa is now a domestic terrorist organization. Now according to Joe Biden and TIFA doesn't exist, all of those buildings in Portland just kind of broke windows on their own. The hundred nights of rioting, there is just, yeah, just kind of people out there, you know, doing their thing. What is he saying? What does this mean that ANTIFA is now a domestic terrorist organization?
C
Yeah, I mean, they were just peaceful protesters.
A
Right?
C
I mean, it was, you know, they're just being peaceful. They're just, you know, exercising their First Amendment right through violence. Of course it's always justified on the left. But I think this is a significant move from this administration because for far too long we've seen what ANTIFA does. I mean, if you hadn't seen it in la, Portland, Seattle, then you're sure as heck seeing it now with these attacks on you know, more moderate right wing influencers, conservatives, I mean, even our own President of the United States. But what is going to be interesting, Joe, Bob, and I'm very interested to see how this is going to play out is that antifa is a shortened name for anti fascist, as we know. But it's, it's not actually a name of an organization. It, they're decentralized intentionally for reasons like this. So putting a stop to money, which is what the President is looking at right now, like all these NGOs that maybe funnel money to these specific organizations that maybe we don't know about, these underground groups that put up flyers and propaganda funding, equipment funding the gas masks, all the kinds of things that we see at these protests. But so putting a stop to the money helps, but finding and pinpointing specific people is not going to be easy. As you know, they always hide the faces. They, they go by different names, they're on these different servers. So it's going to be a little tricky, but it's a great step forward. And honestly, I think it should have been done sooner.
A
Yeah. And I think that it gives them more leverage to find out, hey, where did this big pallet of bricks come on the side of the streets in Minneapolis that were used to be thrown through the window of this AutoZone or whatever it is? Yeah, I think if it, if it aids them in figuring that out, I totally agree with you. It's not going to be easy. It's going to be a difficult task, especially when you have half the country denying that they exist and then also saying, well, they're anti fascists. They're just doing, you know, everything that fascists would do by trying to block free speech. But yeah, it'll be really interesting to watch play out. Monica President was also in the UK recently. The biggest table I think I've ever seen at the UK State Dinner. Tell us about what was going on there. You know, anything discussed that was interesting between the President and the King. What are your thoughts?
C
Well, it was a very beautiful reception, as you saw. I mean, the first lady looked incredible as well. Everyone was dressed to the nines. But what I thought was probably one of the most interesting things is that the banquet table, like you just mentioned, it was 155ft long, there were 139 candles and the main course was Chicken Valentine. I don't think I've ever had that. If you ask me what that is. I don't think I could tell you what that is. I don't know what that entails but we know the president does not drink alcohol. We know, I think his brother was an alcoholic, but he, but after dinner, guests were served this 1945 vintage port in honor of the president and also a 1912 cognac from President Trump's mother's birth year. So they really found ways to honor him. Really thoughtful. Of course, he saw that awesome flyover as well, but he was really well received there. I think that the royal family and the monarch over there has a great relationship with the president, inviting him, welcoming him with open arms. They even, they even played like a little bit of music during, I think, during the dinner. You can't always get what you want by Rolling Stones and Tiny Dancer. So, of course, the president loves his classics. And I think he's on his way back now. I think he's departing as we speak, heading over to JBA. He's landing around 8:30pm Eastern Time. So by the time your show airs tonight, he'll likely be arriving right back at the White House and ready for, ready to head over to Arizona this weekend.
A
Monica, I'm going to ask you to put on your editorial hat. Does it count if you're sitting at that dinner table? Do you get to tell your friends, oh, I had dinner with the president of the United States. Or if you're 150ft away from him, really count? Is that, is that like something that you could say, oh, yeah, we sat at the president's table, you know, half a football field away. Yes.
C
It still counts. I mean, if you kind of see him.
D
Yeah.
C
Whenever I'm, whenever I see the president, I'm like, yeah, I was hanging out with the president on the South Lawn. No big deal. So I think anytime you could say you got to be with the president in some capacity, I think you take that opportunity.
A
Yeah. Well, if that's the standard, I'm currently with the president as we are both on planet Earth. So thank you, Mr. President, for hanging out. Really appreciate you being here. Monica Page Turning Points White House correspondent. Thanks so much for checking in.
C
Thanks, guys.
A
Thank you. I was good checking in with Monica. You know, I know we've been kind of flipping the script here on the format of this show, but one thing that's never going to go away is reacting to and playing to you some hilarious videos from the Libs and, well, mocking them because they deserve mockery. I think maybe that'll be like the show's kind of quote is the St. Thomas More, the devil cannot endure to be mocked. You know, in that light, I mentioned Before, Charlie loved to laugh and, and make fun of people saying ridiculous things. Not necessarily fun of them, but the ideas that they were espousing in the ridiculous nature in which they were espousing them. So with this, it's none other than Brandon Johnson, the communist. I don't know what he is. He's. He's. Well, I'm not going to go that far. I probably could brand him with some terms that definitionally would be accurate, but for now, we'll just call him a crazy person. The mayor of Chicago, Mayor Brandon Johnson, talking about crime in the neighborhood and what works and what doesn't. Jails and incarceration and law enforcement is a sickness that has not led to safe communities. I'm going to work hard every single day to protect the people who are caught up in violence in this city. Guess why? You want to know why? Because the vast majority of them look like me. Maybe that is an admission that the mayor is making, that he is doing all of the violence. You know, I. Maybe that's just what he's saying. But just, I mean, step back for a little bit. Put yourself in the mindset of somebody who thinks like that and try and figure out how you can might maybe get there yourself. Jailing, incarceration, and law enforcement doesn't work. So what then, Brandon? So what then next? It's easy to say that, well, okay, there are flaws in that system. And I probably agree with him. There probably are some flaws in the system. My problems flaws might be the efficiency of the system. You need to put more people in jail because more people are breaking the laws. So you need to build more prisons, put more people in jail. Um, we could probably agree, though, that there are some flaws in the system. But then to say that these things, jailing, incarceration, which by the way, are the same thing, and policing and law enforcement, isn't it. Well, it just doesn't work. Okay, then what? Like, do we get rid of them? You have to propose a solution if you're going to paint this as such a big problem. If, if law enforcement is such a big problem, what do you propose is the solution outside of, well, I guess we just let everybody do anything they want and we'll have anarchy. Cool. Cool. Brandon, I, I would love to see what he actually thinks would be a good idea. Speaking of people who say some crazy things, we have made fun of Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett on this show for as long as we've been on the air. And what, we're not going to stop by the Way too. I fully recognize that playing clips from Congresswoman Crockett galvanizes people on the right side of the aisle. You don't really have to make arguments against most of what she says. I sometimes wonder if she is aware of the benefit that she is giving the people that she so fervently disagrees with by saying things like this, Director. And frankly, when people sit around and say things like, oh, you know, we're happy because now we feel safe.
C
I don't know who feels safe in.
A
This country, except for the white supremacist, because I specifically, as a black woman.
C
Definitely don't feel okay.
A
Again, I don't. How much of a response do we actually need to give to this? Seriously, no one feels safe in this country. Okay, first of all, thank you for proving our point that law and order is a problem. That is why the American people elected President Trump. I would agree with you. Yeah, law and order is a significant issue that we need to get under control. But then to say, well, the only people that are safe in this country are white supremacists. Okay, you know, we can continue to roll her eyes, but again, she categorizes anybody who is to the right of freaking. I don't know. Robert Reich, a white supremacist. Robert is the finance guy from the Clinton administration. Short little dude who. Very big mouth, often wrong about everything he says. Um, anyways, very, very left kind of guy. Anybody to the right of him is a white supremacist in Congressman Crockett's eyes. So. All right, good luck with. Good luck with that and the way that you look at the world. Congressman Crockett, also, thank you for agreeing with us that crime is a big problem in this country, and that is why the American people elected Donald Trump and are continuing to elect conservative leaders across the country, because nobody feels safe. Especially who. I'm not going to go there. I'm coming up after the break, we're going to talk to Alex Stein, Primetime Stein 99. I just like saying it. I like saying it. Have a really interesting discussion on, you know, comedy, especially in a moment like this. You know, I've said a number of times, Charlie loved to laugh, and at a certain point, we were going to get back to the full throated laughter that we had for so long. And it might make some. Might make some libs mad. Not sure how mad I'm going to be about that, how sad I'm going to be about that. You can also email the show anytime you want tbt@tpusa.com we love seeing all of your emails. After that, we're going to read some emails and interact with you good folks. TPTP USA.com don't go away. We'll be right back after the break.

Welcome back to Turning Point tonight where together we are charting the course of America's cultural comeback. You can always email the show tptpusa.com we're going to get to more of your emails later on in the show. TPT@tpusa.com I want to bring in friend of the show, friend of Turning Point, friend of Charlie, Alex Stein, Primetime Stein 99 is all of the names. Well, not all of the names. I'm sure there's several other names that people would know you by. But Alex, appreciate you taking the time.
D
You know, it's funny that you say the name thing because it was actually kind of scary. I mean, it's only scary because of the situation that's going on. But the, you know, obviously the tragedy with Charlie was so bad. But this is just two days ago. I was walking and I, I walk around the airport in Dallas. It's Bachman Lake. And a guy starts yelling and he's kind of yelling from far away and he doesn't have shoes on. And he's like a white guy and just looks weird. He doesn't look like he's necessarily homeless, but I don't see his shoes around. No shoes, his pants on and a shirt. And he's like, ronnie, Ronnie, Ronnie. And I'm like, what the hell? Why is this guy calling me Ronnie? I'm like, getting scared because of the situation is so intense, right? I'm like, why is this guy yelling at me like Ronnie? And by the time he gets closer, he's like, ronnie the rat. I was like, oh, yeah, because I wore a furry. I didn't even. I. And I, there was a Viral video. I was Ronnie the Rat. But. But I was still. I was so spooked because I couldn't even remember that it. Ronnie the Rat. So, yeah, and it was just more intense because of what's going on. Some guy's yelling at me, calling me a name. I didn't know. I was just shook. But, yeah, this just happened. But, yeah, that's the name thing that just happened.
A
Yeah. I mean, you got all the names you got. And again, I probably even can't even say all of them on here, but you're gonna have to brush up on all those. Especially. Especially when you're out in public. Alex, you. So you. I mean, jokingly would do Charlie Kurt, not Charlie Kirk, and go to college campuses and kind of do a similar thing, you know, be funny about it, because obviously you're. You're a funny guy. You even had a video with Charlie recently at the Tampa event that we probably should have pulled, but you can go find it on. On any of your. Yeah, but what. You know, what is your approach to this now? I mean, first things first, you know, if there's anything you'd like to say. Charlie specific. We've been, you know, letting people talk about their relationship with him, but also, too, you know, you're kind of. You're doing a very similar thing. And. And how do you think any of this affects you and kind of how you go forward? Well.
D
Well, selfishly, it affects me tremendously because, you know, I could just say I was Charlie Kurt, and the kids would be confused and think I was Charlie Kurt for a second. So then we'd get a crowd. And then if I just kind of said some crazy stuff, we're able to have a good. And Charlie actually liked that because he knew that I would never say anything because there were some parameters. They put some guardrails. There was times where, you know, I had some representatives from Turning Point, including Charlie, tell me, hey, you know, maybe we should talk about this a little less than this. Not that they ever limited my free speech, but, like, when it came to trans issues, a lot of times people get sexual. You know, I'm just saying. My point is, Charlie let me go out there and be wide open, because he knew what I was doing was funny, and he had, like, such a good sense of humor, and he appreciated that, you know, what I was doing that the students liked and that we were actually, you know, doing something on campus that people could, you know, remember. And it causes what Charlie wanted. Like, it causes a conversation. So he actually liked it. And so I'm. I'm just. I'm so sad that I can never do that again, but I'm so happy. Another selfish thing, that video where I pretended to say I was Charlie Kurt at the most recent, you know, sass in Tampa. That video is, like, blowing up. I mean, it literally, probably on my account alone, I think it has, like 10 million views. And then all these other people have shared her, which I appreciate, and I'm sure Charlie does, too. And so that, you know, it's just very sad to think that I. That, you know, those videos are doing so well in such a tragic situation. But, yeah, I wish. I wish. I wish I could have done more Charlie Kurt, because he actually likes it. He actually responded to it. So he had such a good sense of humor, people.
A
Well, that's right. Yeah.
D
I'm saying people might have taken Charlie too seriously, and I realized he actually had a great sense of humor.
A
Well, yeah, and it's interesting, you know, I've been going through the archive and just kind of posting a bunch of different videos of. Of, like, these round tables that we would do. We're just laughing the whole time. And I. I've seen in my comment section, people, like, I. I never, like, the media never showed him smiling, which I think is a really humanizing thing. And real, like, it's humanizing to laugh. And, you know, you got to experience that, you know, doing the stuff that you were doing. I got to experience that. And I feel like a lot more people need to. To be aware that they. The guy. The guy had a sense of humor, and he laughed a lot at a bunch of different things. And I think, again, that's a real humanizing component. But I think, you know, like, speaking of laughter, I mean, we were talking a little bit before we came on here, kind of in a weird position because I. Super sarcastic and snarky. You're super sarcastic and snarky, like to make fun jokes and make fun of things. And I think that's. Charlie understood that that's how you get through to people, but it's kind of difficult to navigate in such a horrible situation that we're in. How do you see, you know, the. The kind of comedic comeback or what the trajectory looks like, you know, post again this. This kind of. This obviously tragic event.
D
Well, you know, I hate that I even have to say the answer, because this is just how I truly feel. You know, this event was so incredibly tragic that we, as comedians, like, we should be able to make jokes about anything, but just in the way that this happened, you know, it's to the level of 9, 11 or JFK. I mean, it's so monumental to history and I don't even think people understand that. And that's kind of the, the part that I don't get so mad at when people, you know, try to get mad at Charlie Kirk is they just, they're just too ignorant to understand the gravity of the situation. So of course they're going to say something uneducated and, you know, not based in fact. So my point is it's just, it's a very difficult thing to navigate because it was so tragic and it was so bad and it affected people so greatly that, you know, just right now I'm, there's going to be a time when we can joke around, but it's like I'm really having trouble with it because there's just so much surrounding this and it's. I, I, I, this is bigger than any other shooting in the world from Sandy Hook to whatever this is going to be. And you know what if this is why I'm getting crazy and I don't want to get into any of the conspiracy stuff, but now, you know, these hate speech laws of Pam Bonnie wants to put in, that doesn't seem like something Charlie would want from something that, you know, is such a tragic situation. So I'm just saying it's just, it's a very scary situation and I'm really worried about the future.
A
Yeah, I think overall it's kind of difficult to, to figure out how to quarterback this. And I think, I know you're feeling that too, but I think the bottom line here, and I think you probably agree on this, is just, you know, laughter needs to be a component of that. I've always said that Charlie recognized that. I think you could, you could tell that, you know, he, he understood. Yeah, people get changed through logic and reason and facts and debate and all that sort of stuff. But they also changed their mind, you know, being entertained. And I think comedy is one of the best ways to do that. And yeah, going forward, at a certain point, you know, Charlie would have wanted us to keep on being this snarky, sarcastic, comedy loving people that, that we are. So. Any last thoughts, Alex?
D
Well, you know, no. I mean, this weekend is going to be, you know, you know, the memorial for Charlie Kirk, that will be very emotional and that'll be sad and a lot of people will be there. So I'm honored to go there. I can't believe that, you know, it's going to be In a football stadium. That's pretty amazing to have a memorial and something like that. So, know, it's just a sad, sad day. The world's worse off, but nothing we can do but keep going on. It's just the gravity of the situation. People might not understand. This is, you know, will change the course of history very dramatically.
A
Yeah, no, I, I totally agree. And yeah, the football stadium is, is. I, I can't think of anybody who had their funeral. Michael Jackson had his funeral in an arena. I'm not trying to, you know, make comparisons here. I'm just saying this is, it's an unbelievable outpouring of respect from really the entire country.
D
Well, I mean, even I was listening to Glenn Beck host Charlie show and he said that he hadn't seen anything like this since Elvis or Princess Diana. And that's kind of what this is like. This is like Elvis and Princess Diana and you might be too young to remember Princess Diana. Like that was a huge deal. And this is like that. This is like that. It's just like a person that a lot of people loved and even the people that weren't as big as fans, still, a lot of people are just so empathetic to Erica and his family and the tragedy that we all witnessed.
A
Totally, totally. Yeah. So, hey, we'll see you on Sunday, brother. We'll appreciate you taking the time and see you Sunday.
D
See you Sunday.

Welcome back to Turning Point. Tonight we're together. We are charting the course of America's cultural comeback. As always, you can email the show tptp USA.com tptp USA.com you can email whether you agree or whether you're wrong. I used to love saying that. I feel like it's tough with the situation to joke about that sort of stuff. But again, your emails are always welcome. Speaking of those emails, we'll get to some of those today that I thought were really interesting. Now there's several, a ton of emails regarding Charlie and all of them are very, very nice. And of course, we'll read some of them. But also there's people weighing in on some interesting stuff throughout the rest of the show, too, which is, which is always good. TBT tbsa.com Robin writes, Charlie was an amazing person. So intelligent and special insight into people. She says they held a vigil last night. This is what I thought was really interesting. There's an amazing amount of people of all ages that showed up. Yeah, that's one of the things, too, I think, that is fascinating about such a horrible, tragic scenario is that how many people across how many different spectrums or characteristics of the society come out. You got people there that, I mean, my daughter came with us to a vigil. So two years old, all the way up to, you know, as old as people get, you know, in your 80s. All of these people like Charlie had an impact across every single demographic, age wise, ethnicity wise. It's just amazing to see in all of those vigils. This is from Andrew, Andrea, which I thought was really interesting. We can probably pull down the Charlie B Roll because this is more of what we were talking about yesterday. Andrea, I'll characterize what she said. Basically said, hey, my church didn't talk about Charlie at all. And we also got some emails saying, you know, why are you saying that the church needs to talk about it? Our church isn't political. But I thought that was kind of an interesting misunderstanding of what I think I was trying to say. But also what some other people, you know, at least understood. Yeah, this is what we're actually talking about. We're not talking about the, the specific politics of this. We're talking about the cultural event that was Charlie's assassination. This is one of the biggest cultural events to happen in the last several decades. And if your church isn't talking about it, that means your church doesn't care how you or the church more broadly as a whole responds to these cultural events. And if they don't care about how the church interacts with the community outside the church, then what the heck are you doing? I think again we mentioned like it would be like somebody going to Church after 9, 11 and the pastor just continuing on in the series in, you know, Matthew. Not to say that there's anything wrong with continuing on in the series of Matthew, but there is a pretty big earth shattering major event that happened that maybe we should have been paying attention to. And that's why I think people should have 100% mentioned what happened last week in their sermons on Sunday. This from Kevin and Glenn. I should have warned you to get the JB Pritzker stuff ready, but it's fine. I think you can kind of remember it. He points out. Well, one, you know, and Kevin, I do, I, I do not appreciate you making fun of J.B. pritzker's weight saying that, you know, even if there was two restaurants that he was at. We were talking about the video yesterday, by the way, this is why you need to watch the show every single day because we're going to reference things from a couple days ago and you might not get it because you weren't watching and that's, that's honestly your fault. So yeah, don't, don't pull up that clip. Just people should know. But J.B. pritzker said, I met these two restaurants and said of course he'd be at two restaurants. But you know, Kevin, I wouldn't, I do not condone again, you making fun of the Kool Aid man who is posing as the governor of Illinois and his weight loss journey, so to speak. He also mentioned, hey, why is JB Pritzker dressing like Trump? Which actually is pretty interesting. That's, that's why I would have liked to pull the clip up. But again, you can go back and watch yesterday's episode on Rav's website and see what J.B. pritzker was wearing. Let's see. Oh, we've got some for the. Well, we'll get to those. Maybe another deck talking about visas and deporting people with the visas. Maybe they should put a deposit down. Good email. And that's gonna do it for us here at Turning Point tonight. Really appreciate you taking the time. We will see you tomorrow. Same time, same place. God bless America.
