Hey everyone, it's Curtis Davies here from the Real English Conversations podcast, helping global professionals to speak clearly and confidently at work. Now, I've been hosting this podcast, the Real English Conversations Podcast, for a long time and something funny keeps happening. Even though the Real English Conversations podcast has been around for over 10 years and has grown to reach millions. That's right, millions of listeners worldwide. Most people still don't know that I actually have another podcast. This is called a sister podcast and this one's been around for over 10 years as well. It's called the English Phrasal Verb Podcast, and honestly, it's one of the most powerful resources I've ever created.

But here's the thing. Even my most loyal listeners, like you, the ones who have followed me for years and years and years, often tell me, Curtis, I didn't even know that podcast existed. So today I want to fix that. Because if you're serious about becoming a confident, natural sounding English speaker, especially for business and professional communication, this is the podcast you've been missing. This is why this episode matters the most. Maybe you've been studying English for years. You've understood almost everything people say. But when it's your turn to speak, you freeze. You get scared and nervous. You overthink your mistakes, or even your vocabulary. You sound too formal. You sound too simple, too academic. You don't sound like you. You've tried grammar lessons, vocabulary apps, YouTube videos. What no one told you is that you're missing the core building blocks of real spoken English phrasal verbs. These little combinations, for example follow up, run into, pull together, wrap up, hand in. They're everywhere in business English. They're what native speakers use naturally, without thinking. And if you don't use them, you'll always sound like something's missing, even if your grammar is perfect. That's where the Real English Conversations podcast wants to tell you and let you know about our sister podcast, the English Phrasal Verb Podcast. And that's where that podcast comes in. I started this podcast more than 10 years ago because my students kept telling me the same thing. Curtis I understand phrasal verbs when I hear them, but I can't remember how to use them. So I built some practical, short, real world lessons that explain exactly how these expressions are used in everyday life and business. Each episode focuses on a few phrasal verbs, but instead of memorizing them, you hear them in real situations with examples, pronunciation practice and tips on how to use them naturally, not like a textbook, but like a confident professional speaker. It's a podcast that works because it's designed for busy adults who want quick, focused and practical training. You can listen during your commute, on a break, or even while you're cooking dinner. But the best way to listen is to stay focused and to take notes. Every episode gives you a few new tools to sound more natural in conversations. Let's get real for a second. You could have a master's degree in English, but if you never use phrasal verbs, you always sound a little distant, like someone translating their thoughts instead of speaking naturally. In business, English fluency isn't about using big words. It's about using the right words. Short, direct conversational language that builds trust and connections. Native speakers always say things like let's wrap up the meeting. Can you look into this? Or I'll follow up by Friday. Those three phrasal verbs wrap up, look into, and follow up are very, very, very common. Those simple phrases communicate confidence and authority, and they make your English sound effortless. This is exactly what my Phrasal Verb podcast teaches how to use these expressions in real life with confidence, clarity and control. I'm going to give you some practice tips and show you how to practice and why it works. If you want to start sounding more natural right away, here's a small exercise. Number one choose three phrasal verbs from your day. Maybe set up, check in or come up with Write two short example sentences you could actually use at work at

Try recording yourself. Number three, saying them out loud. Number four listen back, focus on your rhythm and tone. And number five use them in a real conversation this week. That's the big challenge. And don't be scared to do that. This is deliberate practice and it rewires your brain.
