Warning this episode of Real Life Real Crime. The podcast may contain descriptions of acts of violence or that of a sexual nature and should be for people that are 18 years or older. He my warning people. I do not get the facts of these cases off of the Internet or for some television show. The facts I'm retelling you were presented to me by the victims of the crimes or the perpetrators who committed the crimes against the victims. My descriptions of the crime scenes, what I saw with my own two eyes. If you're gonna get offended, please turn this podcast off now. Thank you. Hello everybody and welcome to this episode of Real Life Real Crime, the podcast. As always, I'm your host, Woody Overton. Today we'll be talking about hashtag justice for Haley and I'm gonna have Ms. Barbara on the phone in a second and get to talk about that. But let's hashtag just for Bradley hashtag justice for AO. Please continue to call in your tips. 313rlrctip I am continuing to work the cases. Continuing people. Everybody, Brian Wallace and all the other people saying Woody dropped the case and Woody's this and he must be in trouble or whatever. Y' all take the focus off Woody Overton. If you want to do something, go do hashtag just for Bradley and hashtag just for ao. I did not murder them. I am working the case and or cases and the the juvenile high school bullshit. Take it somewhere else people. And again, that's why I'm not doing a weekly episode on it every week just to keep hot stirred is because of where y' all have taken it. And it's not about Bradley and AO at this point. Bashing each other and trashing each other and trashing me. I. It's pointless. You're wasting your energy and your time. Put it back on Bradley and Austin o', Banion, period. Okay? And I am not off the case. I am doing the same thing I was doing before, and I'm going to continue to do so until these arrests are made, period. All right, moving on. Let's see if we can call Ms. Barbara, y'. All. I just can't imagine what she's going through. In. In. Huh? Let's call her and talk about it.
Barbara Blunt
Hold on. Okay, got it.
Woody Overton
All right. Good morning.
Barbara Blunt
Good morning. How are you?
Woody Overton
I'm doing well, and I've got you recorded. I did a little opening already. I had some stuff to say about the hashtag just for Bradley and the hashtag just for ao case and that I'm still working it and just not, you know, doing an episode every week because all the. The BS the these people have going on over there. This. It. It. It. You know, Barbara, I would give credence to it and all the comments and. And the things that are being said and people are sending me screenshots and recordings and all this stuff that are being said about me, but I'm not going to even give it justice because it doesn't have anything to do. Do with the case. It's. It's just a whole bunch of crazy, a whole bunch of craziness that has nothing to do with solving the cases, I hope.
Barbara Blunt
Like, it's. I know they got kind of, like, irritated because you were, I guess, including Haley again. And I didn't mean for.
Woody Overton
No. No step on anybody. No, hey, it's justice for everybody. Is. That has. Absolutely. I was working Haley's case a long time before I even knew who Bradley and Austin o' Banion were. And so that's. If. If people get mad about that, then that's on them. They can turn off the show. I don't care. Okay. It's justice for everyone. And. And, you know, the. Every case is different. It's like having children. Right. And every. Every case is different and has to be handled a different way. But the. I appreciate you coming on today's show, and what I really want to do is talk about a lot of things, but I want to Talk about the GoFundMe. I want to talk about Brooks, as much as you're comfortable saying about what we talked earlier this week. And the. Yeah, I don't want to say, like, we have a. Don't. Don't say, because we're recording. All right. And so, that being said, let me. I haven't checked today. What. What are the numbers at today on the gofundme, y'. All. The goat. That's awesome. Y'. All. The gofundme is. Explain it. Explain in your words, coming from mama.
Barbara Blunt
Well, I mean, y' all know that's just been an uphill battle with, like, the DA And I have no idea. And this guy has no idea why they wouldn't prosecute this.
Woody Overton
He.
Barbara Blunt
He feels sure it's a murder as well, so that's good. I mean, that's a good place to start from, so.
Woody Overton
Right.
Barbara Blunt
But he's, you know, he. He is going to do everything by the book and, you know, do the. The recreation and the. The laser, I guess, the laser trajectory things and all that kind of stuff so that it's no right.
Woody Overton
And he's. He's give his name. What's this? I know. It's the evidence room. Yeah.
Barbara Blunt
Yes. Scott Roeder.
Woody Overton
All right, and so y', all, again, these are professionals that they're. They're scientists, all right? And they have a proven track record in court and everything else. And. And this is pretty much our last shot to do the job that Cobb County's DA Isn't doing and that they promised they were going to do by investigating, et cetera. And they said unless they come up, you know, with something scientific or new evidence, then they're not going to prosecute. Well, you know, they should be the one having to hire the evidence room. Right. But they're. And. And, yeah, you're absolutely correct. And all the recordings would go back that we have them saying 100% it's a homicide, blah, blah, blah. And I'm be honest with you, Barbara. I can tell you what happened was when they didn't send the detective to the autopsy and the detective said suicide, and then they. They went back. Well, they didn't. Yeah, The. The pathologist is only as good as the information they're given. And all they had was. Was Haley and. And nobody, you know, no law enforcement. It's like when you go to the doctor's office and doctor's like, okay, what's wrong with you? And you got to say, well, I got a cough and I got a fever, and da, Da, da. The. The. It's like you go into the doctor's office and not being able to give any information about what's wrong. And that's what happened in this case. And so the coroner ruled the way he ruled, and what's unfortunate is that's the same professional that they use for all their murder trials there. And so when he comes back, they're like, oh, shit, we're going to have to go against our own guy. But they did go back and tell him all the stuff. And then he was like, well, I ruled it as a suicide. And now because all the information you gave me, I have to rule it as, as undetermined. Right, right. And so the, the they're looking at from the standpoint of covering their ass.
Barbara Blunt
And that I don't understand like that. I don't understand that because undetermined means it's 50. 50.
Woody Overton
Absolutely undetermined means they don't know. Right. And but the. I believe in his hindsight's 20 20, but I believe had they gone to an autopsy like you're supposed to do, and if it's your case, you're supposed to, I hate to say body, but you're supposed to, you know, follow through with that body through the autopsy until the determination is made and, and, and go from there. But they didn't do that. They did it after the fact. He changes it. But they're still worried about, oh, my God, the defense attorney will have a field day. Why did you say it was suicide in the beginning and now you change your findings? Well, you know what? That happens. Mistakes happen. And it's a shame that we're still having to try to fight to get the proper procedures done. And now we're down to go. Now we're down to the evidence room and Scott Roeder and using his team, professionals and y', all, this is not their first radio. Go look them up. They, you know, he's done numerous national cases and everything else.
Barbara Blunt
He's done three cases in Australia. They fly him there to do cases in Australia.
Woody Overton
Right. And, and, and, and that's, you know, after they flew him for the first one, you know why they flew him back for the second one? Because he's good. And then they flew him back for the third one because he's good. And, but, you know, he's, he's, he's published and, and he's certified, you know, as an expert witness in a lot of different courts in the United States. And I feel quite certain that it'll be the same, you know, in Haley's case and now. But we have to get there. We have to get them to work it. And it's, you know, it's not cheap and it's not free.
Barbara Blunt
And I can't remember if I talked to you Last time about the gunshot residue test.
Woody Overton
Tell me about it.
Barbara Blunt
So I'm going through this stuff to send him. I mean, I try not to look at too much of this stuff because I don't. Yeah. You know, I don't want to see pictures that I don't want to see.
Woody Overton
Right, right.
Barbara Blunt
But I. I did come across the incident report. They have lied to me since the beginning saying that they didn't do a gunshot residue test on Haley. But they did. It's on the incident report twice.
Woody Overton
Did they. But they didn't show the findings right there.
Barbara Blunt
Nope. So I don't know if they screwed it up and didn't send it in or lost it and didn't send it in or what happened. But, you know, that's. That's another something that we don't know why they did what they did, but.
Woody Overton
Right. That's, you know, calamity of errors. It's just stupid. And. But the getting them to do what. I'm probably. Probably not that many people in the world that are crime scene reconstructionists. Right. And certainly that have the arsenal of tools and from the scientific approach that they're going to use in this case. And look, if he comes back and says. And there's always that chance, y', all that he's going to come back and say, I can't determine, or whatever, but there's just as good of a chance he's going to come back and say, there's no way physically that Haley could have done this to herself. And so. But we need the $10,000 to give to him as the down payment, if you will, because I'm sure it could go more. Even though he's. Correct me if I'm wrong. He told you he would, you know, try to not make any. Because of. Of. Yeah, he noticed that you're having to raise the money and everything else.
Barbara Blunt
Right.
Woody Overton
The. But real quick, on it for everybody that's donated. It's amazing. And you've heard me talk about on the show every day. And it goes up a little bit every day. We're almost 50% there, y'. All. 50%. And. And you can donate anonymous. Yeah, you can donate anonymous. You can, you can do whatever. I don't know if it might even be a tax write off. I don't know. I probably.
Barbara Blunt
I think it is. I'm pretty sure.
Woody Overton
Yeah. And so do it. If you can give something, please do it a dollar or anything or even if you can't give something, please just share it. And that. I pinned it to the Top of my personal page. We pinned it to the top of the Real life, Real Crime community app that you can get for free from the App Store download. It has everything. Real Life, Real crime, we pinned to the top of our social media pages. And it's, it's, it's. You go to GoFundMe and it's under justice for Haley. Barbara, what's the name of it on GoFundMe?
Barbara Blunt
Justice for Haley. Hold on. Funding an independent forensic review.
Woody Overton
Right. All right. Basically, you click on any of our social media or. I think I haven't tried it yet, but. But I'm pretty sure you could be able to go to GoFundMe and type in Just for Haley and it'll pull it up. So. But go ahead.
Barbara Blunt
No, I just, I just, I think. I think you can. I'm not, I'm not real, real versed in me. So I don't know. I've donated a couple times, and then they did one, you know, when she first died for us.
Woody Overton
Right. Well, it's important. It's the last shot and. But never give up. Never surrender. Just like on hashtag, just for Bradley and ao. Never give up, Never surrender. And it's important. And this is.
Barbara Blunt
I can't. I decided, you know, after, after they said they weren't going to do anything. I'm like, okay, you just need to stop, let it go. And then maybe when there's a new da, But I can't.
Woody Overton
No. And, and I mean, you're. You're Mama Baron and. And totally the right way. Right. And. And you never given up. And you're not going to give up. And we're not going to give up. And we'll use this platform, you know, hopefully the evidence room will come back and, and, you know, it'll be irrefutable evidence that she could not have done it to herself. And everybody in the world that's listened to it knows that he did it. And, but getting them to take it to trial. And look, and I said this before.
Barbara Blunt
Because they're not that good. The prosecutors are not that good.
Woody Overton
Well, prosecutors love to say they have a 98% conviction. Right. And that's because they plead out 90% of the cases. Yeah. And they don't want to take a loss. And I. And that's. That's them being them. Right. And it is. It is what it is. It's like working with the feds. Every federal case I ever worked with, you had to give it to them like, way beyond a reasonable doubt before they would Pick it up because they don't want. They have so many other cases to work on, but they don't want. They don't want to take a loss. But at this point, and you correct me if I'm wrong, if they took the trial and gave it 150% and jury came back and said not guilty, you'd be. I mean, you wouldn't be okay with it. But the. You, you would know, just have to.
Barbara Blunt
Let karma take it.
Woody Overton
That's it. Like, God, work it out. Right. And. But, you know, and back to. I'm thinking about all the videos and all the stuff that you got for us in the case. And. And I'm going to tell you, as a mother, you know, don't. I mean, that's some of the most graphic stuff I've ever seen. Don't. Do not go. There's no need for you to see the, you know, go look at the autopsy pictures and all that because remember Haley for how beautiful she was because that's the. Haley was gone when all that stuff was done. Okay. And that.
Barbara Blunt
And accidentally saw one of the autopsy pictures when I was trying to send him the stuff.
Woody Overton
Yeah.
Barbara Blunt
And it was. It was rough. But I think my brain just saves me from stuff like that because now I can't remember the picture. Thank God.
Woody Overton
Right. Well, I mean, how about y' all getting the package and opening it up? And it had, you know, body tissues and hair and in it and stuff. I mean, so that the. I don't know.
Barbara Blunt
It's. Yeah. I mean, it's so hard and it's. It's just. What makes me so angry is that I've tried to explain to them, please just take it to trial so that we can get this part over with. And then I cannot have to focus on her death anymore.
Woody Overton
Right.
Barbara Blunt
Because I don't want to. I want to focus on her life and who she was and not this. But they. They just will not. Just won't even talk about it. So.
Woody Overton
Well, hopefully we can force their hand. Hopefully the report comes back or the reports come back our way, and then we'll have the evidence for him on board also. And then we can get the. That we can get more national media attention and push hashtag just for Haley harder than ever. You know, you never know. Yeah.
Barbara Blunt
My hope is I found. Thank. Thank you. Because I looked and looked and looked for, you know, who to call if the DA's are not doing their job. And, you know, all I could ever find was the Attorney General or whatever. Well, I found In Georgia, they have a prosecuting attorney's qualifications commission of Georgia, and it is an oversight mechanism for district attorneys and solicitors general across Georgia, ensuring that these officials fulfill their constitutional statutory duties. So if this guy comes back and says there's no way she could have done it and they still won't take it to court, then I'm getting in touch with these people.
Woody Overton
Well, not only will you get in touch with them, we'll do a call to action, and we'll get, you know, a million people to call them. And. And they have to stand up and take recognition. And I mean, this is it. This is. You never know which way an investigation is going to go, but when you stall out and you hit the wall, either the case goes cold or, like, you found the evidence room, that it. You know, you get one more avenue, and then you got to charge that avenue just as hard as you charged every other way and pray that the evidence is there and it could be done from a scientific angle. Maybe that's what we need. Maybe all the fight has been to get to this point, so they have to do it, and it's beyond a reasonable doubt.
Barbara Blunt
Yeah. And I feel like somehow Haley guides me on what to do next, because I listened to dateline, because me and Haley used to listen to Dateline. And then I heard about you, and that's how I got in touch with you. And then you did our story, and we met all the lifers, and everybody kind of supercharged us so that we felt, you know, we could do this. And then Mr. Tommy posted that one podcast. I listened to it, and then that was, like, Haley's case, and that's where I found this guy. So I feel like she kind of just, you know.
Woody Overton
Yeah. Nobody on where we need to be. Yeah. Nobody, as you know, nobody said it was going to be easy. Right. And. And we certainly try the. The way we know how to try. And we did that, and we got, you know, media attention. We got the D. A. To take personal meetings with you and stuff. And that would have never happened. Right. And. And then we were putting our faith in them, and we just try, try, try, try, try, and one thing fails. We turn around and spin and find another. And I was.
Barbara Blunt
I think that like any other DA with all that you gave, would have just said, oh, okay.
Woody Overton
Yeah. Well, I'm not big on New Year's resolutions, and I don't sit around making promises myself I'm not going to keep, But I do believe in starting the year, doing things right. That means sleeping when I can eating decent, staying active and paying attention when something feels off. And for a lot of people, especially women, feeling tired or foggy at the start of the year gets written off as stress or burnout. When low iron can actually be part of the problem Iron deficiency affects one in three adults and the symptoms don't always jump out at you. It can show up as constant fatigue, even when you're sleeping enough, brain fog or trouble concentrating, frequent headaches, irritability or brittle nails and hair breakage. When iron levels are low, your body has to work harder to deliver oxygen and that can impact your energy, focus, mood and physical performance. An iron deficiency can exist long before anything turns into anemia, which means you can feel it well before it shows up on paper. That's why I recommend Siderol from Pharma Nitro. Sideroll is premium iron supplement powered by the patented Sucrosomil technology. This technology helps your body absorb iron three to four times more effectively than standard iron supplements without the common stomach issues people complain about like nausea and constipation. It's clinically proven to be comparable to IV iron and it's made with just two main ingredients, 30 milligrams of sucrosomil iron and vitamin C in a convenient once a day capsule. You can take any time with or without food. Sideroll is backed by 20 years of research, 150 plus clinical studies, and is trusted by more than 2 million people worldwide. It's the number one supplement brand in Italy and it's used in over 90 countries. If you're starting the year and you're still feeling tired or foggy despite doing the right things, you're not alone then this might be the support your body needs. The I mean well you gave the the recordings you have the people, even the head investigator guys and on the elevators that know this is a homicide. We're going to get him. Da da, da, da, da. And then, I mean still the double jeopardy thing just blows my mind. But that's, that's what they're standing on. And that maybe that's where the DA's oversight office, whatever office you were just talking about, will come in and be like, you know what? This isn't, this isn't double jeopardy. Right. But the. We just. Y' all would need like 5,000 more dollars. And, and you never heard me ask for money on, on the show for anything. And the, you know, other than maybe like a lopea raffles or whatever that. But the. And maybe we'll do that, Barbara. Maybe we'll ralph law something about all the proceeds to go to this let's give it this week and see what the lifers do and how it gets shared because it really. It's been like two weeks and we're halfway there and, and so we're blessed on that and thank you all and, and if you could just keep continuing to share and just think of it and I say this all the time, but think if it was your daughter or your sister or your, you know, family member or loved one or whatever. And, and we just got to keep pushing and this is how gets solved. You know, you just never. By never giving up. And, and, and the noise, the battle, the war, it's always going to be there. And, but justice in the end, when you win, it's priceless. Then like you said you could go on and just first of all, you be like Courtney, Coco's mom and Ms. Stephanie and, and be like I said, I was never going to give up. She laid on Courtney's grave and, and after the funerals and promised her she would never give up. Hell, it took 18 years or however long it was. It took a long time. And the. These things, some of them are done quick. And Mary Poster's case, when we did that, I was, I think in like, I don't know, six weeks, they made an arrest or something. But the, the. Some of them, some of them take a long time in the end. But if you quit and you listen to the noise like on the Bradley and A's case, they Sorry, I guess am I calling it the rally in AO's case, I'm. I'm not giving up. The I know what I know, but I can't share what I know. And the. Then people are, you know, saying this and saying that and saying that and, and don't realize what. What has already been done. Because I don't want to do anything to mess up the investigation on Haley's case. It's totally different that you had everything. It's not a question about who done it or where's the body or whatever. And. And I'm gonna tell about this real quick, because if they. If they haven't listened to series. What was classic was when I was in Atlanta with y', all, and. And I said, you need to go over there and try to get the case file. And. And you went over there, and you didn't bullshit them, but they. You were like, well, they sent us this. And in the meanwhile, y' all miss Barbara and Haley, and. And then we were not Haley and Stella. And Stella, yeah, she was there and Stella recording it. And the girl was like, no, I'm not doing that. And then she got her supervisor to come out and. And shit. He's. That. I think it wasn't even a couple hours later he called y' all and said, come back and get it. I'm like, holy shit. You know, we're going to have everything. Yeah.
Barbara Blunt
Yeah. And he. You know, he's not there anymore, so I don't know where he went or what happened, but maybe he was on the way out and just felt like it was the right thing to do.
Woody Overton
Well, you know what? It was the right thing to do. And. Yeah, but. And I can tell you right now, most places wouldn't have done it. And. And so that, again, that was just another what of many victories that we've already had. And we can't forget about that. We can't forget about the successes that we've already had, which include, you know, like. Like getting the media attention and getting the DA to look. Or at least say they were looking at it again and getting meetings, and you get in the time with them and keeping Haley Kate's case fresh, right? And they thinking, oh, well, you know, we got him 11 years in prison. Let it go. The. You know, stuff like that. So we've had up. We've had a lot of victories.
Barbara Blunt
You have. But I told her in the meeting that I was not gonna be happy with this charge. And that's what makes me mad, is because she told me in that meeting, well, if, you know, if we get something else later or, you know, or, you know, whatever, then we will try him for murder. But you gave them other stuff. They just won't listen or take it.
Woody Overton
You know, And. And a lot. Some of that has to be that they know if they take this to trial, they're going to have to admit they screwed up because the defense attorney is going to have a field day with it. And they did screw up. And. And let's say the. The bar that day. Why not get the. The servers. I mean, he got kicked out. Why not get the. The people to say what he was wearing. Why not get the guy. I think his name was Buck or whatever that saw him sitting on the steps outside before he murdered Haley. Why not get him to say what he was wearing? The. The. That there's so many different things that they didn't do that they could still go to. And. And I thought they were doing then when I kept begging for patience. Begging for patience. Begging for patience. Like, the longer it takes, the better it is for us. Well, the. I didn't know that she just gave you lip service, but she told you. I'm putting my. Actually, I think I saw where she sent an email or something. Whatever. I want my best head investigator on and not one of his underlings. And I'm like, hell, yeah, this girl's gonna get it done. This lady's gonna get it done. And, you know, just slapped me in the face because they didn't do it. And that was my fault. But guess what? But we're not giving up and not giving up. Evidence room. Y' all go look them up. The. Everything. Ms. Barber's gonna keep control of all the money. Everything else is. She'll, you know, make it public and transparent. Exactly what that. We could talk about Barbara, whenever you want to.
Barbara Blunt
That's what I love is because with GoFundMe, everybody can see exactly how much is there.
Woody Overton
Right?
Barbara Blunt
It's not like, you know, it's not like any. Nothing is under the table or secret or whatever. It's I. That everybody. Because I don't like to ask for money either.
Woody Overton
Right. Well, the thing is, is. Is what I'm saying is, like, when we reach the goal and. And. And you're sending it forward, maybe we get rotor on to say what you know, exactly what they're going to do, what have you. And, you know, I want everybody to know that I've never been a fan of GoFundMe because of some shitty things that happened in the past, but this one, I'm behind it a thousand percent. I know Barbara's legit. I know Scott Rod's legit evidence room. And I also know this is our shot. So that. And thank y' all so much. And don't forget, y' all don't forget about the victories. We wouldn't Be still talking about Haley if we hadn't had victories already.
Barbara Blunt
And I'm going to tell you, I can't. I can't tell you how much it helps and how much it means to us. All the lifers and all the. You know, the support and sunsets they pose for Haley. All that. All that keeps us going to. You know, I can't quit, but I think I may have given up hope by now if. If it hadn't been for you and the lifers. And so. Thank you. Thank you.
Woody Overton
That. That gives me goosebumps. You know, the lifers had taken. Hey, Haley likes. She's their daughter, you know, and they. Like. You're. You're their mama. Right. From all around the world. And.
Barbara Blunt
And it just makes me so happy.
Woody Overton
And feel so blessed. Yeah. And you know what? And I'm always going to be the optimist. And. And I believe that we're going to get this done, and I believe the prosecution is going to have to move forward, and I believe Books Cleary is going to get a proper charge, which is murder, so. And. Well. Love you much, and. And.
Barbara Blunt
Cindy and everybody. Thank you. Thank you. I cannot ever thank y' all enough.
Woody Overton
Well, don't. Don't thank us. It's the right thing to do, and I would want somebody to do it for my kids. Right. And so y' all go fund me. Say it again. Read the name of again, Barbara.
Barbara Blunt
It's justice for Haley. Funding an independent forensic review.
Woody Overton
Okay. And that's under Go fund me. And when you're trying to get to 10,000, we're at almost halfway there. In just a couple weeks. Let's bring it home so the evidence room can get started on getting us closure on however that may shake out. Getting us closure on. Hashtag just for Haley.
Barbara Blunt
Yeah. He has already presented her case to the team, so they're, you know, just waiting to.
Woody Overton
Right. Well, I mean, it costs money. I understand. Everything. Everything costs money, y'. All. If he can give a dollar. Or you do it anonymous. You. You, or you put your name on it. We don't care. But it's. It's for a righteous cause, right? Which is hashtag just for Haley, so. All right.
Barbara Blunt
Thank you.
Woody Overton
All right, sweetie. I love you much. Keep us in your prayers, and we'll do the same. And keep me updated. Okay? Do you have anything else you want to say that you feel like you could say? I know we talked about some stuff this week. If. If you don't want to talk about that, that's fine, but if you have anything else good, bad, or indifferent you want to say about the case, or if you don't, we could do it in another week.
Barbara Blunt
Yeah. I don't know exactly how to say it without saying things I don't need to say yet, but. But I definitely will. We'll talk to you in about a week.
Woody Overton
Okay. All right, good deal. Go ahead. But I expect we're going to hit the goal in less than a week because of. The lifers are going to give and then. So we'll do. As soon as we hit the goal, we're gonna get on, and we're gonna record an episode. How about that? All right. All right. I love you very much. I'm gonna hang up with you and close out this podcast. All right.
Barbara Blunt
Love you, too. Thank you so much.
Woody Overton
Bye, sweetie. Bye. Bye. All right, y'. All. So it's there. We're. We're. We're over, you know, right. At halfway. Yeah. I mean, you know, we need this. This our last. Last shot. And. And until they get a new DA which is another six years if Sonia Allen doesn't win, so. Hashtag just for Haley. The. And we're halfway there. Let's bring it home, and we'll let you know as soon as we do. And then they can get to work on doing all the tests. And, boy, won't be a great day when they come back. And. And, I mean, if they come back and they say there's no way. No way Haley could have put this big, long shotgun in her mouth and. And. And killed herself, right? So. The. And So. I don't know. I don't know. I don't. I don't know. Hashtag just for Haley. Hashtag just for Ms. Barbara Blunt. Man, y'. All, come on. The. You know the problem with murders, they don't want to go to prison, right? And especially the ones who gotten away with it for so long, just like on. On Bradley and Austin's case, they gotten away with it for so long. And when you coming in all these years afterwards like I am, and. And you're trying to work these cases and trying to. To bring things to fruition, and. Look, we've had a lot of great success. There's no doubt about that. But, you know, coming at it from different angles, where my hands are tied, not being law enforcement anymore, and then you got to get it past this, and you can't say this because you don't want to screw up the case, and you would love to scream it from the rooftops, just like in Ms. Barbara Blunt's case, and in Bradley's case, I want to scream it from the rooftops, but I can't because then the bad guys and girls will know, right? And so what do you do? You have to sit back and wait, run down other leads and do things, and try to keep out of the bullshit drama that the other people are starting. Because it has nothing to do with the cases. Right? And it's just each one is different and each fight is different and. But you know what? I'm. I'm. I'm very proud of this platform and the lifers because we've gotten successes. And even the cases that we don't have a rest in yet, the. We've gotten successes that I can never tell y' all about. And that's just. Just the way that it is. So. But I love and appreciate each and every one of y'. All. Thank you for liking and listening and sharing and all that good podcasts are shit. I'm supposed to say don't give up. Never give up. Never surrender. Push forward. Continue calling your tips 313-RLRC-TIP. And you know, less than 1% of any cold case ever gets solved. And the longer they're cold, the. The more that percentage goes down. We've done it in the past. We're doing it now, but it's a fight and can't fight without y'. All. Hashtag just for Haley. Let's get to that 10,000 mark. And. And so we can continue this fight in the proper way. All right. Stay warm. I love and appreciate each and every one of y'. All. Lopa Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency always My jamming and shit that's been going on lately, I kind of been getting away from that or forgetting to do it, but organ donor, oh, my God. It's so important, y'. All. The. In my history with Louisiana Oregon Procurement Agency over the years and our partnership with them on bringing awareness to what they do. And I. I do it in a different way that, you know, they have Lori Steele and everybody that's such professionals and in such a great organization, but I don't know everything they know. But you know what I know I have sat with the families who have heroes who are the organ donors and the recipients. And the recipients are live. Today. I've gotten to hunt with these people and eat with them and hang out with them, and they're alive today because someone took the time to sign up to be an organ donor. All right? And you don't have to be a lifer from Louisiana for Lopa to help you, you could be a lifer from China. If you want to be an organ donor go to lopa.org l o p a.org fill out the questionnaire thing. They will help you get signed. It takes like two minutes. They'll help you become an organ donor. And you if I mean chances of you ever your organs ever been used are very slim. But if you are then you'd be a hero. But to me you're a hero just for signing up. All right. And I've met these people. I've, I've been there when when they took when they take the heroes back for surgery and to take to har har to get them out as quick as they can to people who are dying every single day because they need an organ transplant. So Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency will always be my jam. Lopa.org sign up be a hero. And I'm Woody Overton. You host a Real life Real Crown the podcast until next time or ever. Host: Woody Overton
Guest: Barbara Blunt
This episode continues the pursuit of justice for Hailey, exploring the challenges and systemic failings in her investigation and prosecution. Woody Overton is joined by Hailey's mother, Barbara Blunt, for a heartfelt update on the family’s ongoing efforts, the hurdles they face with law enforcement and the DA's office, and a call to action to support a GoFundMe campaign to fund an independent forensic review.
The episode blends Woody’s distinctive Southern directness, determination, and empathy with Barbara’s candid vulnerability. There’s much emotional gravity, but also fierce resolve, collective hope, and practical appeals for support.
Summary prepared for those seeking a thorough understanding without listening. All critical content and memorable exchanges are covered; ads and non-content omitted.
