Woody Overton
Hello everybody and welcome to this episode of True Crime.
Cindy Overton
Time for Monday, April 14th.
Woody Overton
And I'm Woody Overton.
Cindy Overton
I'm Cindy Overton.
Woody Overton
Back at it, about to bring y'all some knowledge from the college. Shout out to all lifers who have responded or emailed or phone called for Haley. Hashtag justiceforhalie. It's working. The DA's office has been in contact with Ms. Barber twice. The news media did a we posted in all our links, all our social media, but they Fox 5 cover the story and yeah, so just keep pushing y'all. It's, it's happening. The DA's office said they were signing their head of chief investigator to it, et cetera. But we want to keep the pressure up and you know, it wouldn't have happened had, had y'all not done it and taking the time to do it and please do so. And if you haven't already, all the contact numbers are in our social media. So we love y'all and thank you for doing that.
Cindy Overton
Yes, thank you so much.
Woody Overton
All right, so remember last year when we, or I don't know, it's like, yeah, probably last year when we're talking about your favorite LSU wide receiver at the moment, Lacy, number two. Well, I got some news on him today and we reported on. I'm going to start this for all our Louisiana listeners. It's a big story, but not really knowing what happened. So unfortunately he's dead. And we'll start with the story, refresh you on it. So Kyron Lacey, he was a stud receiver, y'all, for lsu and he was going up for the draft this year, but he got in Trouble last year when he was involved in a vehicle crash in near Chacabay, Louisiana. And actually today, Monday he was going before the, you know, the grand jury was going to hear it's indicted but he's already been charged with negligent homicide.
Cindy Overton
Right.
Woody Overton
And the grand jury was going to start his case today. But the prosecutors say that Lacy was driving a car that caused the head on crash on the LA20 that killed Mr. Herman hall who was 78 years old last December. State police had said that Lacy was speeding and crossed the center line and no passing zone. And other drivers who witnesses swerved out of the way and one of them hit hall which caused his death. Prosecutors say Lacy left the scene after the crash. And in addition to the negligent homicide charges he was charged with, we call it 14. 100 is a signal. 100 a hit and run and rock reckless operation. But they arrested or returned himself in. He only spent two hours on the Flooch Parish jail and then he bonded out and he was, he was 24 years old then while he was at. Well, Lacy had 864 yards receiving and scored 18 touchdowns in his final season at Thibodeau High School. And then he signed one of my old schools, Louisiana Lafayette. And he played 24 games there in two seasons before he moved to LSU in 2022. Now as we know when he was at LSU he was a stud. He played in every game. He started in the 24 games but he didn't play in the, in the Texas bowl after he graduated this past year. I guess he didn't want the injury. And so now he's dead and it's speculation it's probably suicide. So I think they found him dead in Houston this morning. Yesterday morning. But his dad said young parents start talking to your kids at a very early age and make sure they are confident and comfortable confiding in you. And don't be cool with I'm all right or I'm good when you know deep down inside something's not right. Mental health is real. For the most part it's invisible. Don't ignore the signs, even if they may be small. And that's his daddy, Kenny Lacy. You know, it's sad. He ultimately he killed that guy. I mean being a kid and, and, and I don't know. I don't, I don't. Well, no, I'm talking about he, he murdered that man, Mr. Hall.
Cindy Overton
I'm saying, and I think inside himself he couldn't live with knowing that he killed somebody.
Woody Overton
Who knows who Knows what was thinking then we're assuming they're assuming that suicide. We. We'll let you know more if it turns into a criminal case. But I guess there'll be no justice for Mr. Hall's family either out of that. And he won't be in the draft in a couple of weeks. So there you have it. Life marches on, right?
Cindy Overton
Life is short.
Woody Overton
Life is definitely short. So anyway, real quick. You know, I never read the reviews and the other night we were laying in bed and I was reading reviews and there were two that said that I talk down to you and that I interrupt you. Now I want to address that real quick. The. I do play a lot with sin on the show and you know, I don't. The talking down part, I don't see it. But the. There's nobody I respect more than Sydney and she knows that. And, and she wouldn't, first of all, she wouldn't put up with it. She's a badass. Secondly, the. That's fun and games. So the, the one, the specifically addressing the one lady who said she's. She's a victim of domestic violence and strong on all levels. I certainly do not abuse my wife mentally, physically, or. And so there's that just letting you know and if you don't like it, turn it off. But I'm not going to change the way that I've been being and the interruptions, I do that to everybody. So there you go. If you want to take time and go and leave us a review, just go wherever you listen to the podcast, go leave us a review. We appreciate it.
Cindy Overton
We do appreciate it. And I want to address it from the wife's standpoint as we are very, very, very, very busy people. I cannot stress that enough. And there's some days that when we record, that's the only time we spend time together, like legitimate, like talking face to face time. And I actually enjoy our recording together. I don't think that I don't feel it. And what you perceive out there is your perception. And if I promise, like he just said, I'm a. I wouldn' consider myself a badass, but I would. I promised you Woody Overton would look at me. There would be there A, tears in my eyes.
Woody Overton
Right.
Cindy Overton
B, he would say, you can't do this anymore because you.
Woody Overton
I, I wear my heart can't podcast. Yes.
Cindy Overton
I wear my heart on my sleeve. And if he was hurting me in any way. Yeah, it. Physically, mentally, whatever, it would be known.
Woody Overton
I'm not. And I'm very against any type of domestic violence. Anybody who knows me knows that. So that's enough of that. I just want to address that to the one lady. You know, I don't really care about reviews. I mean, I care, but I don't care if you leave a negative review. It doesn't bother me. But I don't want this woman who's been a domestic violence victim to think that Woody Overton is that guy. And I don't disrespect any females.
Cindy Overton
I sincerely. My heart goes out to you for having to, you know, be a survivor of domestic violence. And. And, you know, our hearts go out to you for that. And if we can in any way with that, we're here to help that. There are many other people that are educated in helping victims of domestic violence. We are not. But we don't want anyone out there hurting. And that came from a place of hurt. And I thank you for, you know, defending me in that, but I don't need it.
Woody Overton
Tons of episodes where we talk about domestic violence, and I do give you the domestic violence hotline and everything else. If you need help, call them. They'll help you. They're professionals. Okay, so roll with something else.
Cindy Overton
Right.
Woody Overton
So Easter week, y'all.
Cindy Overton
Easter. Thank you, Jesus. Am I allowed to say that? Because.
Woody Overton
Damn right you're allowed to say.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
It's time for beast mode.
Cindy Overton
All right, so for my first story of the day, we're going to. We have a beast mode, as you just heard, but this is a different kind of beast. We're going to Detroit, Michigan, and there was a owner of a few animals who wasn't very kind to them. Her name is Jordan Love. Jordan Love is not very loving. She's 29, and she decided to post a video. On social media, we often see, like, pranks or trends, people posting videos, you know, of that nature. But this video was of her stabbing her dog.
Woody Overton
Oh, my God. People are gonna love that.
Cindy Overton
Multiple times. She later claimed that the dog attacked her and one of her cats. So she retaliated. But she's going to stop what she. She's going to retaliate, and she's going to set up a camera or her phone and record it.
Woody Overton
No.
Cindy Overton
And post it.
Woody Overton
Yeah.
Cindy Overton
Detroit animal control and police got a notification that, you know, someone had posted a video, and they were able to narrow down where she was. And when they arrive at the scene, they go down to the basement, and there they find the injured dog that was still alive.
Woody Overton
Nice.
Cindy Overton
And upstairs, there's two more dogs and four cats. And so they Removed all of those from the home because they're all victims of some sort. But it's just like children. They beat one, why not hurt the other ones? But thank goodness, from what they could tell, there was no injuries on the other ones. But where was Jordan?
Woody Overton
I don't know.
Cindy Overton
She was gone.
Woody Overton
She ran.
Cindy Overton
So after the stabbing, Jordan fled the state and she went to Greenville, South Carolina for two months. She was there, and this shocked me, but law enforcement actually tracked her down there for animal cruelty. Like, that's amazing to me that they took this under.
Woody Overton
I mean, I'm sure they, they had some inside knowledge of where she is by whatever cell phones or family live there or whatever.
Cindy Overton
Well, they still went to go get her and. Yeah, you've gone to get people and get expenses on the, you know.
Woody Overton
Well, you got to get them to prosecute.
Cindy Overton
Yeah, exactly.
Woody Overton
And you're going to stab your fucking dog on camera. Fuck you.
Cindy Overton
So they brought her back to face what she did, and on April 9, she was extradited back to Michigan. And she was arraigned on April 10 and hit with some serious charges. And those charges were second degree killing, torturing of animals, and animal cruelty and abandonment. So she now faces up to seven years in prison for stabbing and then two more for the cruelty charge. And she's wearing a GPS tether as she awaits trial. And her hearings are set for April 14th, 21st and 28th.
Woody Overton
Special kind of stupid. Yeah, they're probably going to claim a. A mental whatever, but you took the time to put it on camera. Yeah. I hope you get justice, bitch.
Cindy Overton
Right.
This April, we're celebrating Earth Month, and it's the perfect time to think about the choices we make every day, especially the ones we don't always think about, like where we sleep. If there's one thing I've learned, it's the quality is sustainability. When you invest in something well made, it lasts longer. And that means less waste, fewer replacements, and a bigger impact on protecting our planet. That's why I love Avocado Green Mattress. Avocado makes certified organic mattresses crafted with non toxic materials in their very own zero waste factory. They've already diverted 85% of their waste from landfills and they're aiming for 90%. It's not just about comfort. It's about caring for the planet with every choice we make. And here's something I really love. Avocado is a proud member of the 1% for the planet. That means at least 1% of every dollar they earn goes straight to environmental, nonprofits, tackling climate change and protecting ecosystems. So when you choose avocado, you're not just sleeping better, you're giving back. If you're thinking about upgrading your mattress.
Woody Overton
Do it with purpose.
Cindy Overton
Choose one that's better for you and better for the planet. Head to avocadomatrass.com today and save up to 10% on certified organic mattresses. Dream of better for you and the planet. Woody Overton
So let's roll to South Carolina. And I do not have to ask Siri, do they have the death penalty? Because I know they do and they just executed fine young gentlemen. I'm being.
Cindy Overton
You're facetious.
Woody Overton
Yeah, I'm being facetious. Of the AF Mikal Motty. Right. And they executed him because he was convicted of two 2004 murders including the death of an off duty cop he shot and set on fire. Right. So he's a big big winner. And. But he got to choose which way he wanted to go. So he took a. He chose the firing squad.
Cindy Overton
Okay.
Woody Overton
Okay. And in where three correctional officers shot him. You know all that shit's planned out. Y'all kind of think firing squad is kind of cool. But anyway the. Guess what he did before he was executed.
Cindy Overton
What?
Woody Overton
And these. This always interested me. His last meal. They didn't say he say dick before they shot him. He. He didn't have any final say so or I apologize or any of that bullshit. But he got him a big ass meal. And you know, don't you think you deserve a big meal for killing a cop and set him on fire? And this other person. The wagyu steak.
Cindy Overton
Right.
Woody Overton
Well no, I'm gonna tell you about it in just a second. So naturally his attorney says that you know, it's all horrible and he had a choice between the lethal injection or the electric chair or the squad. He took the firing squad because he thought it was the lesser of the evils. And on the evening of Wednesday, April 9, he ate his last meal. A fine dining offer made up of a ribeye steak, mushroom risotto, broccoli and collard greens with cheesecake for dessert and sweet tea to drink. Now isn't that nice he got to have all that. And like I said, he didn't say anything. He. He went to hell straight up without apologizing. But anyway they. When they lined him up and they shot him. The media, you know, I told y'all so many representatives of media, so many represents his victim's family if they choose. And his family actually get to be in the viewing rooms. And then they said when they shot him he cried out. So he did speak a little bit on his way to hell. He cried out as the first bullets hit him. And he flexed his arms and he groaned. And a doctor then Nicolette clared him dead at 6:05pM so it was carried out. The execution was carried out in front of nine witnesses including his attorney and a member of the deceased cops family as well as representatives from the first circuit solicitor's office and the Calhoun County Sheriff's office. And these are the ones that who prosecuted investigate the case. And of course all his appeals were rejected. But his lawyers argued that his original trial attorneys were not prepared to handle the death Penalty trial and ignored the impact that months spent in prison solitary confinement had on him as a teenager after he witnessed traumatic things in his childhood. Well I'm pretty sure that didn't excuse you for what I'm about to tell you some the details of his crimes. So Modi was convicted of the multi state crime spree in July of 2004 which began in Virginia and ended in Florida. So he's running down the east coast killing the stealing. And on July 14th, 2004 Marty stole a three 80 caliber pistol in a set of Virginia license plates in a station wagon from his neighbor before he drove down to North Carolina. Now when he got there, he entered a gas station and placed a can of beer on the counter. And this. But the store clerk because you know we ID now, everybody IDs when they ID them said sir, can we see your identification? Marty takes out the 380 and shot him dead.
Cindy Overton
Geez.
Woody Overton
Yep.
Cindy Overton
Marty then took the beer.
Woody Overton
Can't, you can't leave it out your beer. And headed towards South Carolina where at a traffic light he stole another man's car and replaced it with the plates he has previously stolen in Virginia. Right. Just a fine young man. And the they said he then drove southeast stopping at a gas station in Columbia before he ran like a little bitch on foot after a store clerk became suspicious of him. That clerk's lucky they're not dead.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
Marty later ended up at a farm owned by Captain James Myers who is a law enforcement officer. He waited at the captain's house until he came home and then he shot him nine times with a 22 rifle. So you got that somewhere. He then poured diesel fuel on Myers body and set him on fire. It mighty then he's not done. He then runs like a little bit to Florida where he was spotted by police in Meyer's car. Right. He was then taken into custody. So South Carolina. Good job getting rid of this piece of shit. And this his execution happened after Brad Simpson was put to death in South Carolina on March 7 also by firing squad. And that that marked the the first US firing squad death in 15 years and the fourth since 1976. And so I don't have to ask Siri about firing squads because I our minds want to know. The other states that have the firing squad available are our neighbors in Mississippi, Oklahoma and Utah. Hello Gel. Hey. Hopefully they got straight, didn't get straight. Whoever you believe in. Whatever. Whatever. Yeah, right.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
I mean a dude was just gonna keep stealing hands of beer and killing people. I mean why let's see your id. You know, I get, I, I love it when people ask me for my id. Now they're like, you must, because they think you're right. I'm like, you must want a big tip, huh? I look young as, right?
Cindy Overton
You keep telling yourself that.
Woody Overton
Yeah, I mean, they asked me. I don't think anybody looks closer to 18 than me.
Cindy Overton
I don't either, baby.
Woody Overton
Right. I don't know how it rolls. 18. I got, you know, kids that are way older than that. Right?
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
So. All right, what you got?
Cindy Overton
Well, did you happen to look up the big boy in Florida that got, that was up for execution and did.
Woody Overton
They follow up on it?
Cindy Overton
They followed up on it.
Woody Overton
And so he wasn't too fat after all.
Cindy Overton
He wasn't too fat after all. But I did read, I don't remember his whole meal, but he had pork chops.
Woody Overton
Nice.
Cindy Overton
And I believe he had cheesecake, too.
Woody Overton
Nice. I'm not a really a big cheese.
Cindy Overton
Oh, that surprises me. Cheesecake.
Woody Overton
Yeah. I don't know. But you know what? I don't know how close the time they give that to you to the execution, but I know they'd be strapping a diaper on you so you it all over yourself and, and I hope the last thoughts in your brain or what you did to put you there. So real quick before we get started while we're on that, because this is rolling and you know, I hate this story, the Menendez brothers, all right, they are rolling. They're at the top of the news. They're getting their whatever reasons hearing. And y'all, I have no notes. I'm going off the top of my head. Recent hearing this week. Yeah, it's happening. And like Rosie O'Donnell, who I, I don't care if you like or don't like her. I don't. I've never gave a shit about her. And she doesn't even live in the country anymore because, yeah, you know, whoever's president and all that.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
But she says she's in love. One of them and she's in love, developed a relationship over the years and hope hopes they get out. And all these people are saying, whatever. Well, you know what? Y'all, the people that back them now, I get, I'm not saying they weren't sexually abused, but damn it, it happens every day. How many people work with that are sexually abused and raped that didn't murder their right. And the people who think these deserve another shot, they, they should make them walk through that crime scene and see the parents Bodies blown in half. The mama dragging herself across the floor. They had to, they shot her and had to go outside and get more shotgun shells to reload the gun and come back in and finish blowing her to pieces.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
So there's that. And so you can hashtag the Menendez brothers in the notes either the new da, they, that there was absolute guarantee they were getting down. The new day was like, ho, ho, ho, slow down. Yeah, slow your old. Let's look at this. But they still might get out. I don't know. But if they weren't famous and shit, then we wouldn't be talking about them. What about the people who really deserve a shot?
Cindy Overton
I know, yeah, but whatever. I've seen other stories of people that have claimed that they are healed and better and they get out and they go off and do the same thing again and get away with it once. I, I don't know. Well, we are going to go to Peyton, Colorado and this is a sad, sad, sad story, but there was a, a woman, was 97 years old.
Woody Overton
Damn.
Cindy Overton
With dementia.
Woody Overton
Damn.
Cindy Overton
And she had obviously trouble remembering things and she was left alone in the snow.
Woody Overton
What?
Cindy Overton
Yeah. So Payton, Colorado is a rural town outside of Colorado Springs and it's obviously, it's cold and quiet and 16 degree temperatures and there's snow everywhere. I've never gone to see that, but I know you have. And so you can picture it much.
Woody Overton
Better than, I mean anybody who watched Yellowstone can picture it too. I mean it's the mountains, the Rocky Mountains, it snows and it's cold. Yeah.
Cindy Overton
So there were the woman, the 96 year old woman's name was Corey Brewer and she had cognitive impairments and she needed care and protection, whatever. She was vulnerable and the kind of person you look after. And this woman raised others and counted on someone to be there for her in her final years. But that's not quite what happened. She was left intentionally outside without a coat, without a phone, no shelter, nothing. She just left.
Woody Overton
Crazy. And unfortunately we, we're dealing with, with this something like exact same type thing with dementia which is such a absolutely horrible disease. And there's different levels and stages of dementia but then there's different types dementia and we're dealing with, you know, some extreme paranoia and all that in the person when, you know, I had to go get them out of the woods.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
At nighttime and they, they can't even walk hardly. Yeah. And they have 24 hour care. Blessed enough to have that. And so I mean if you're not there, you're supposed to be cared for.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
And then do it.
Cindy Overton
She's 97. Anyway, so on top of dement, like cognitive in 97, no matter what. But she was brought outside by somebody.
Woody Overton
Yeah.
Cindy Overton
And then the next. In the snow, intentionally. 16 degrees snow, no coat, no phone, no nothing. And her family didn't report her missing until the next. Next day.
Woody Overton
Yeah, they're probably ready for it to be done.
Cindy Overton
So they found her outside frozen.
Woody Overton
Wow.
Cindy Overton
I. I just. I got goosebumps. I was. Can't imagine. So the El Paso county coroner ruled it a homicide. And exposure to cold was the. The cause of death.
Woody Overton
Hypothermia.
Cindy Overton
Can you imagine dying at 97 years old with cognitive impairment? You don't know what's going on. You don't know.
Woody Overton
That's probably the only blessing in the whole story. I hope her dementia was the level where she. She doesn't know. And, you know, like, we're dealing with this. It's a level where they don't. They. They wouldn't know. But still, that's torture. I mean, even if you're not aware. Even if you're not aware that you're outside, you've been left outside and you're freezing down. It still sucks.
Cindy Overton
So she has a grandson that's actually speaking out and, you know, attempting in his own way to take accountability, but he doesn't have anything to be accountable. I mean, he's not the one that did it, you know, but he was like this woman. She made it through war, right? Made it through loss, through change, through generations of life. She's 97.
Woody Overton
I look at every time I look at someone that's elderly like that. Now we're getting pretty close to being elderly ourselves. Yeah, but I look at that, I think about the lives that they led.
Cindy Overton
Right?
Woody Overton
These people have seen it. What have they seen and what have they done?
Cindy Overton
What we've seen in our.
Woody Overton
And women.
Cindy Overton
Have you ever had one of those days where everything just feels off?
Woody Overton
Like you're stuck in the middle of.
Cindy Overton

And so the grandson says she died in the snow because someone decided she wasn't worth saving. It wasn't neglect, it was abandoned. I mean, oh my God. So we don't have any answers other than they know it was intentional and but they don't know who did it to her.
Woody Overton
I hate to do it. I know y'all asked me to get a map and ship, but guess what? Does Colorado have the death penalty? Does Colorado have the death penalty?
Cindy Overton
Here's what I found.
Woody Overton
I know when Timothy Bay was up there, but he was a federal prisoner. They, they executed him. First execution Colorado was the hanging of John Stoffel in 1859. All the executions were carried out by hanging till 1934 when they adopted lethal gas. Blah blah blah in 1988 before they abolished it in March of 2020. So she, they, whoever did that to the sweet lady is not going to get the death penalty. And sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. And, but I don't know, and then I gotta have a good time in prison.
Cindy Overton
Well, even, you know, I hate to say it this way, but even if she wasn't sweet anymore, 97 years old, you know, people having issues and part of some of the. Like when my grandmother, she got to where she wasn't, you know, nice anymore, she was combative, you know. But that doesn't mean you just say, oh, I'm going to leave you in the snow. You know, just because you're being a horrible. You're being mean right now. That doesn't mean you leave them in the snow or leave them at all.
Woody Overton
All right. Well, it's just, you know, I don't get it. I don't get it. I don't get it. But guess what? We'll end this episode with another Louisiana story, okay? And I bet you dollars to donuts you have not heard about this, but you going to know where I'm talking about.
Cindy Overton
Alrighty.
Woody Overton
So I don't even know how to title. This is actually funny as the. So, yeah, I've been on all the local news channels, WFB and wbrz. I've had articles written up in the Advocate. That's the morning Advocate, y'all. All the things in Baton Rouge. I know the people there and you know, the reporters and all that. Well, there's a, there's a town or city called Baker, Louisiana, and it's right.
Cindy Overton
Outside of Baton Rouge.
Woody Overton
Where the Baton Rouge, where the Baton Rouge line is. If you're going north towards where I was raised, Clinton, you have the Baton Rouge line crosses into Baker, which is all part of East Baton Rouge Parish. Oh, you know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna give a shout out to the ex sheriff Sid Gotro, who got to see a wall Corns other night. Sheriff was great to see you. He what a stalwart of old school law enforcement he was for so many years. Also, I want to give a shout out to Walk Ons Matt Wisdom. Matt Wisdom, the manager of Walk Ons. And I want to give a shout out to Kevin Kool Aid Garrett, and shout out to Lopa and Lori Steele for showing up. Y'all. We were there for like three hours and we had lifers from all over come in. I got to take pictures with people, meet a lot of new people, see a lot of people that we already knew. But you know what? In three hours, we raised just the tips for going for Lopez. We hadn't done anything a while and Kevin came up with that and he said, hey, we, you know, I'M asking Matt to be behind the bar forever. And he said if you get Woody over to then we'll do it. So Matt was super cool. He's. He's a huge lifer and got us in and we did it and just in tips. Now look, you know we're not bartending. Yes, I served like just a couple beers. I know Kevin served a lot more than I did. But I was talking to people and stuff like that. And in the three hours we were there we raised well over $500 just in tips.
Cindy Overton
Yes.
Woody Overton
And what does walk Ons do? Walk ons Bistro, you know they're what an awesome organization. They matched it.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
And you know they hosted us. First of all, I think our bartenders, the young man and young lady that helped us, they were fired. We made sure they were tipped appropriately. But just to paraphrase and thank you to we just went kind of went live on the spot when we were there and Sydney hit a straight donation button. Tilopa and more money got donated that away. So thank y'all for doing it. But just think about that then in over three hours we raise over a thousand dollars for Louisiana Oregon Procurement Agency and that money, they're a non profit. That money will go to helping people live. All right, back to it. Now that's exactly Louisiana which is Butts up. It's on the north end of Baker which I'm telling you about. And back to store. Sorry, I got off on a tangent. Well, the Baker police chief is Carl Dunn. Mr. Carl Dunn and I go way back.
Cindy Overton
Way back.
Woody Overton
I actually supervised internship and for his polygraph license. And we go way back from the Dunn's Clinton, Louisiana and all that. Let's go back to the story. Okay, what do you think could be going on in Baker? Let me ask you what location you think it is in Baker because now there's not Dick in Baker. You got the. The plank road that runs through and they got it's all dead shopping centers side of Baker. We talking about the the plank Roadside.
Cindy Overton
Or the other side?
Woody Overton
We're talking about the Plank Roadside.
Cindy Overton
Plank Roadside and Baker. Yes, well. Oh, nothing good. The Walmart.
Woody Overton
Yes, yes. So this is what they did. Listen to this.
Cindy Overton
All my my people at our local.
Woody Overton
News channels reported that three adult men and one minor were arrested after turning themselves into police on Friday, April 11. Now you might ask what did they do? Well, their arrest came after a social media video of the four men wait for it. Riding their horses through the Walmart and Baker. Why yes, yes. And this is 11 miles exactly north of Baton Rouge and it went viral. These motherfuckers got horses and roads. I'm gonna tell you about it.
Cindy Overton
Oh my God. So don't get any idea.
Woody Overton
My buddy. Yeah, fuck that. My buddy. Baker Police Chief Carl Dunn, he told all the news outlets that Brendan Bridgewater who's 24, Patrick DeRzan who's 22 and Mason Webb who's 18, turned themselves in and were charged with misdemeanor counts of entering and remaining at forbidden, forbidden, disturbing the peace and unlawful posting of criminal activity for neuroty and publicity. Now that's one that wasn't there when I was a cop. Yeah, because we didn't have social media.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
So that's a state offense which stops anyone from posting videos or photos on a public forum for attention. But they weren't alone. The fourth horseback rider was a 16 year old boy and he's been turned in also and he faces the same charges. But the several videos were posted on social media platforms including TikTok and X and Facebook. And it shows the four horseback riders trotting down the aisle at the Baker Walmart on Grim Road.
Cindy Overton
I hate to say it but listen.
Woody Overton
The videos are going down there taping the bystander Bystander said and this was quotes bystanders can be heard saying what the. And one person who appeared to be a Walmart employee laughed before suggesting that someone called the police because the group was going to scare the out of somebody.
Cindy Overton
This is an employee on tape laugh.
Woody Overton
And said somebody better call a cosplay because they're gonna scare the out of somebody. Well, other footage which was posted on Tick Tock appeared to be taken from the perspective of one of the riders as big and riches 2004 song save.
Cindy Overton
A horse, Ride a cowboy Right play right.
Woody Overton
So my buddy Chief Dunn told the Advocate that the group's actions might be fun to them at the time but.
Cindy Overton
You know this could have been real.
Woody Overton
Bad for the citizens.
Cindy Overton
Those horses could have gone absolute control.
Woody Overton
Absolutely, he said. He said we got always think of others before we act. And so later in an interview with wbrz, Webb said he called himself and his friends the cutthroat Cowboys. And he said the group didn't intend to hurt anyone with the stunt. He said hey, it was fun. We were famous. That's all. This his quotations now as the outlet asked about the viral social media clips, Webb says we didn't want to hurt anybody, nobody or nothing. We always ride the Baker and we just want to do it that day right through The Walmart?
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
So after someone off camera pointed out there's a discussion around bringing dogs inside stores such as Walmart, Webb agreed, adding that his horse is his emotional support animal. So anyway, y'all some charges they're not gonna be, they're gonna get slapped on the wrist. You know, it's all misdemeanors and like a hundred dollar fine. But who in the are. You know. Come on man. The, the. Hold on one second, let's see if I can play the video.
Cindy Overton
Oh my God.
Woody Overton
Oh my God. They're on the horses literally riding through. There's no audio. This wrz there's four dudes riding the horse. They just rode in through the door. They're riding past registers and they're headed down now. And look, I stopping at Walmart a lot of times in especially when I was with state police and whatever, I stopped and used some money. No, well, I mean, you know, if I gotta go to Walmart, so hey, I go to Walmart like as least as possible. I probably had been in two years now maybe, maybe in Tuna, Wisconsin. Yeah, I probably went last year in time. When was last time. But the, that's where I told you about. Did you hear the story in time of the, the lady to hung herself and I did it on, on the other show the in Toma right there in the sporting goods section which I've been in a thousand times. She gets a ladder from the hardware section, goes in there and gets a rope and hangs herself.
Cindy Overton
I did not hear that Walmart.
Woody Overton
But come on man, it's, it's. I mean seriously, somebody could have got hurt and I understand that, but the four cowboys, the cutthroat cowboys riding their horses and right where I walked in the Walmart many, many times.
Cindy Overton
Yeah, I've gone there.
Woody Overton
It's pretty funny. It's pretty funny. And I know chief done had to get them arrested and all that. They got millions of views and whatever and I'm sure they need their ass beat. I mean could you imagine what my daddy would have done to me? The yeah, but that's it. And cutthroat cowboys, you had your day into shine, now pay your fine.
Cindy Overton
What if one of those horses would have kicked somebody?
Woody Overton
I want to hear clean up on aisle three. Clean up on aisle three. Bring your pooper scooper. The horse has pooped in the aisle.
Cindy Overton
You know, speaking of tomah, when we go into that parking lot there's a whole row of horse and buggies.
Woody Overton
Like oh yeah, Amish people, they're not.
Cindy Overton
Riding Their horses up in the Walmart.
Woody Overton
They do that for. Yeah, I don't know. That's the first time I've ever heard a horse in Walmart. Yeah, I'm pretty old. I mean, I've been around since Walmart started. Not since it started, but since they became a national change when they were all small before super Walmart and all that.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
Then they got the Walmart groceries and thank God for Walmart delivery.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
Anyway, all right.
Cindy Overton
We love and appreciate each and every one of y'all.
Woody Overton
Should be wrapping up State vs Scott Peterson this weekend, if not next. Oh, you know what? This weekend, I don't care who you believe in. Does not bother me one way or other. I believe in my Jesus. And you know, we'll talk about as the week goes on, but next week we will be bringing you some shows from the road.
Cindy Overton
Oh, right. Oh, yes, right.
Woody Overton
We will not be in the state of Louisiana.
Cindy Overton
Where will we be?
Woody Overton
I don't know. Who knows? We shall see where the wind blows. Where the wind blows. Yeah. We'll tell you about the seven winners of the world later on.
Cindy Overton
It is you.
Woody Overton
When you see that, you'd be like, that is one of the seven ones of the world.
Cindy Overton
Now take me to see the other six.
You're one of the wonders of the world, too.
Woody Overton
Hush up. I'm interrupting and talking down to you. Woman, get your ass in the kitchen.
Cindy Overton
And cook me some bisque.
Hey, get in there and cook me.
Woody Overton
Some crawfish bisque and I'll burn you authentic crawfish bisque. Yeah, yeah.
Cindy Overton
Like the head stuffed crawfish bisque.
Woody Overton
The. But authentic. But not. Well, that's right.
Cindy Overton
It wouldn't be a Cindy recipe if I did.
Woody Overton
And then we're not having it. We're not going to have enough to freeze. So it would be a one meal eater, y'all. We did a big crawfish bowl this weekend. We'll probably post it on Tick Tock. We didn't have a lot of people over. Just her daughter and a son. And we did it with intentions. Having meat left over to. We did to make bisque and to put in the freezer.
Cindy Overton
But you know what?
Woody Overton
They were. They were too good, evidently.
Cindy Overton
All right.
Woody Overton
Love and appreciate each and every one of y'all. We will haul you tomorrow. But not like that. And I'm Woody Overton.
Cindy Overton
I'm Cindy Overton and we will check with you later.
Woody Overton
Peace.
