Woody Overton
Hello, everybody and welcome to this episode of True crime. Time for April 27, 2026 then. I'm Woody Overton. Rolling solo again today. Sin should be back for tomorrow show. All right, the I had already pre recorded last week, y', all, before the mall, LA shooting happened. I'm gonna talk about it real quick. The or you know, one of my best buddies and if you've been to my live shows, he's bodyguarded me in the past and all. He is actually the supervisor at the Mall of Louisiana and I didn't hear about it till like 3 o' clock that afternoon, about two hours after it happened. But the, the knowing that he was going to be on scene and be busier in hell and everything else, I just texted him, are you okay? He said, yes, and I'm leaving the hospital. You know, one do doa. And he said when I got to the food court, they were gone and, and all that. And I just told him, I said, you know, love you and glad you're safe. And, and they got plenty of cameras and the detectives will work it out, right? So we're always gonna, always gonna check on our people. That's the first thing. Now the tragedy naturally, is that first of all this, we're talking about another shooting and then another one in Louisiana and it just sucks. And my daughter who got engaged. Congratulations. Sophia and Jason Macklin, they got engaged this weekend. She was on the way to the mall to pick up a dress when it happened. And you just can't, can't go anywhere, can't do anything. I mean, it's just absolutely horrible. The, the mall was actually closed for two days. Imagine how much money they lost on top of everything else. The but. And they said there's a spray of flowers with a sign that reads our hearts are joined in sorrow. And that's was near the entrance of the mall and because Martha odom, who was 17 years old, it's just horrible. She was just caught up in the crossfire and. And you know, she was at the mall celebrating her upcoming graduation from Ascension Episcopal School, which is in Lafayette Parish. And the. Police said that Markelli, who's 17, also would be charged with one count of murder by accounts of attempted murder after the shooting at the mall. And the police chief said that two rival groups had gone to the mall to settle a social media beat. That's so stupid. You know, the. Yeah, we used to fight fist fight back in high school. Now these kids are keyboard rewarding it up and, and oh yeah, yeah, let's meet up. And everybody brings guns. It's gotta stop at some point. I mean, something's got to give, something's got to change. And the. I hope that gets the death penalty. And Even though he's 17 years old, just why you can't send your family anywhere anymore. You can't go anywhere, you can't do anything. It's just a sad state of affairs. Then last night being Saturday night, because I'm recording this on Sunday, the White House press conference dinner. Dude gets shots off, you know, another attempted assassination attempt or whatever. And they said he has a manifesto and full of hatred, full of evil. And thank God, you know, the one Secret service officer I think got hurt, one Secret Service officer I think was wounded. But they, you know, thank God that they had the right security and were able to stop this guy and just another nut job. And. His name is Cole Allen and he's 31 years old from Torrance, California. And he prepared a manifesto outlining his intent and shared anti Trump and anti Christian rhetoric on social media. As the dinner was underway, Allen rushed a Secret Service checkpoint and he was armed with multiple weapons and open fire, striking a Secret service officer in his ballistic vest. Thank God he had his vest on. They naturally, you shoot at the police, they're going to shoot back. They return fire and they tackled Allen to the ground. The suspect and the injured officer, you were taken to the hospital and are expected to Recover love. Right. I, I don't understand. I understand hatred. I don't understand the, the lack of respect for life. Whatever. All right, let's get down to some true crime. Time for April 27th. And on this day in 1997, Andrew Cunnan met David Madsen and Jeffrey Trail at Madsen's apartment. Once Trail entered Conan beat Trail to death in front of Madsen and kept him in the apartment for two days. Madsen's body was discovered on May 3, 1997, near Rush Lake, Minnesota. Cunanan then went on a killing spree, killing three more victims, including Gianni Versace be before he took the way out and killed himself. Well, crime never stops, right? This is what it is. Oh, what happened to Madison? Y' all go listen to this week's episode. It's very important. The tips we needed really, really need the tips to keep coming in. We got a lot of great tips. The, the law enforcement is balls to the wall on the case or they're doing. I even found out another agency got added into the case the, the other day. I'm not going to say which one, but the, you know, calling your tips 313-RLRC-TIP or call Zachary PD or call somebody. All right. But the don't be afraid to call on your tips because you think you're going to get killed. And, and what have you think about if you don't call in your tips, then then the person that's out there doing these heinous crimes is going to continue and we're going to have more victims. Right. So very important. Also on hashtag justice for Haley, Thomas Davenport attorneys donated three custom made knives. And I'll explain them all to you. They're very high dollar the they are also laser engraved with the real life, real crime emblem. And we're going to, we're going to raffle off two of them. They're all three different. And I'm gonna have Tommy on the show, but we're gonna raffle off two of them. Then we're gonna do a live auction for the last one. We need, I think 1900 more dollars to pay the evidence room and Scott Roeder to finish the forensic testing on. On Haley's case. So thank you again to Thomas Davenport attorneys and I'm gonna have him on the show and we'll discuss the rifle and, and all that. And Tommy can explain why his firm wants to continue to help seek justice for Haley. All right, stories. Let's see. What do we want to talk about today? I guess let's talk about a hate crime. I don't even know what category to put this under. Go into Mesa County, Colorado and according to the local krex, three people have been arrested in connection with a series of assaults that happened on April 12th in the sea Road Desert west of Clifton. And this according to the Mesa County Sheriff's office. The authorities identified one of the suspects as 21 year old Dante De Gilio who investigators say assaulted a 17 year old victim after learning he was gay. Deputies responded to reports of the multiple assaults at the bonfire that morning after caller said a man was down. When investigators say that the gulio who was under the influence of alcohol punched the victim who did not fight back and then and left the scene with injuries. Now according to authorities, Deo then became more and more aggressive and tempted to fight in other people and punching holes in the windows of his own truck and hidden his 17 year old girlfriend. Yeah, okay. Idiot. Not gonna end well. So later the victim's parents, Johnny and Crystal Herrera arrived at the scene. Investigators say they confronted and then assaulted the Gilio. In retaliation, deputies found Degilia with injuries and he was taken to St. Mary's Hospital. The original victim was later found at a gas station and they had injuries. After being released from the hospital, Degilio was booked into the Mesa County Detention facility on multiple charges including the hate crime, assault, domestic violence etc and he got a thirty thousand dollar bond. Now the story continues. Johnny and Crystal Herrera were later arrested on warrants. Crystal faces charges including third degree assault and conspiracy. Johnny is accused of first degree assault with a deadly weapon. And that weapon y' all was a crowbar. So there you have it, another story. And I get a parents want to defend their kids and call the cops, don't bring a crowbar. And now your ass is sitting in jail too. And this dude beats on this guy because he's gay. But I mean you're a idiot. It's time for family matters. All right, Going out to Florida. This is just another horrible story in Florida man. What? It's horrible for the victim, right? Florida man has been sentenced to decades in prison after he admitted he broke into his mother's home and stabbed her to death while two other children were inside the residence. Hillsborough County Circuit Judge Gregory Green on April 20 sentenced John Jake Jacob Aylor who's 39 years old. He sentenced him to the 56 years in prison. He he pled guilty to second degree murder with a weapon and armed burglary with battery. Because then back In August of 2024 he killed his mother, who is 64 year old Julie Aylor. So prosecutors noted that the attack happened in the early hours of August 12th in 2024 at the victim's home in Brandon, Florida. And two young grandchildren were inside the house at the time. According to investigators, Ailer entered through a dog door at the back of the home. He had used that entry before. And this, I mean I guess it I'm not even gonna throw shade on it doesn't matter. He threw enough shade on himself. They found his bicycle outside. That's what he had to to ride and I guess couldn't afford a vehicle. One of the children woke up around 4:30am to the sound of a man yelling. She later told the deputies she recognized the voice as her father. Moments later she heard her grandmother scream. His nickname, Jake. Help me is what she cried out. And the child then heard calls for help. Minutes later she dialed 911 and told dispatchers her grandmother was bleeding out. Deputies arrived and found her dead. The medical examiner says she had been stabbed at least 10 times with fatal wounds to her neck and torso. This is your mother. This is not some innocent bystander at the mall, Louisiana or you know, the president of the United States or whatever or somebody that you beat up just because they are, you know, are gay. This is your mother. Stab her in the neck, stab your mom to death ten times. Inside the home, investigators found a blood covered knife from the kitchen and a second broken knife and a list palm print was later identified in the suspected blood on one of the weapons door. They also said he took the victim's phone when he, he ran like a little and it was found several houses away with his fingerprints on it. I mean guilty as right. They, this is why they said they, they said it happened the attack happened after a failed attempt to steal the Hillsbury County Sheriff Chad Chronister said Ayler became angry when he could not find anything worth taking. Hey Ayler, get a job right? You see you don't have to steal punk ass. In quotations they said this is a mother who has been taking care of his child since she was born. And and then it said Aylor fled on foot after the stabbing. Later the deputy searched the nearby areas before tip led them to a home less than a mile away. And he was arrested the next day. He had first been charged with first degree murder and yeah, well guess what. And because he was going to get that death penalty because Florida has it and when he realized he was going to get it because the state attorney Susie Lopez was like, we're gonna, we're gonna give you the ultimate punishment. Well, he was a little, and he took the lesser charge, but he played out and no trial and whatever. So the state's turn says our focus was on protecting the victim's family and minimizing further harm. And two of the key witnesses are minor family members, and moving forward with a trial would have required them to relive deeply traumatic events. Right, but this guy's going to spend most of his life in jail housing another one.

New at 6 a 40 year old man is facing stalking charges after police say he followed a group of teenagers home. It happened in Troupe county near Newnan. Police tell Channel 2 Action News the man Marshall Taylor was confronted after following the teens home. Taylor was hurt during the confrontation. Police arrived and charged him with stalking and also with assault.
Woody Overton
Well, Mr. Taylor, unfortunately for you that the young ladies you were following had their cell phones and they called ahead and and you got your ass beat as it should have been. Right? It's time for family matters. Always do the stories about the welfare checks right. And we're going out to Choco Winity. And a man has been arrested and charged after law enforcement says he strangled his young son. So deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff's office received information on April 17th that Clinton Alexandra Daniel who's 37 had strangled his four year old child. Deputies along with the child protective services and detectives when conducted a welfare check and found found the child in the care of his mother. But the child was no longer in immediate danger. The sheriff's office said the child was taking the ECU Health Buford Hospital for evaluation and has since been released in his mom's care. And the dad was taken into custody. The following investigation on April 22 and after being released from a medical facility and Ash Ashokee he's been charged with attempted first degree murder and assault by strangling by strangulation. 4 years old. Strangle your kid. This is this amazing. It's time for effed up professionals y' all this story we're gonna bring it back home but the I mean home being me and meaning Louisiana or what was intended to happen in Louisiana in the this guy isn't a cop anymore but he's an ex cop and I'll play it for you.

Good morning.
April Davis
I'm April Davis and here's what's in the news on this Thursday. A man was arrested before he could carry out his plan for a mass shooting at a New Orleans festival. That's according to investigators. Deputies in Florida arrested this man Christopher Gillum at a hotel in Destin last night. The Okaloosa County Sheriff's office there saying federal authorities tipped them off about the North Carolina man's mass shooting plan. Deputies say Gillum had a handgun and three boxes of ammunition with him. This is A photo of him at the hotel there. He is being sent to Louisiana now to face terroristic threat charges.
Woody Overton
All right, I'll tell you about it. So in Florida, in Destin, which favorite place for everybody around here to go to the beach, they identify this North Carolina former police officer who planned to kill everybody at the New Orleans music festival, Christopher Gillum. And he's arrested. When you heard about all that he had over 200 rounds of ammunition. And the according to the deputies that Gilliam, this asshole plan on driving to New Orleans about four hours from Destin to conduct a mass shooting and then commit suicide by cop. And that's this month is the biggest music festival in probably in the United States. It's the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. This is the first weekend it runs for the next several weekends. So Gillen was a former Chapel Hill police officer from 2004 to 2019 when he resigned. And he has been hired as a detention officer by the sheriff's office in Orange County, North Carolina in October 2023. But he left in July 2024. Gill and his family reported him missing on Tuesday and mentioned he had a history of self harm. Gimlin's family told law enforcement he had a gun and expressed recent threats to harm black people. Officials said there were no criminal grounds to detain Gillon despite his comments about black people because there was no victim. Well, Gillum then crossed the state lines before that the agency that was investigating them could the Haven committed fore psych evaluation. And they said Okaloosa deputies were initially asked to make a welfare check on Gillum on Wednesday morning and they're not aware of any threats he had made. But later that day, the sheriff's office learned that Gillum was being investigated. The deputy surveilled him until they got a warrant form. The deputies from Louisiana arrived to arrest his ass. But they said Jazz Fest is grateful to all law enforcement partners for their dedication and exceptional service and protecting our community. This quarantine New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival said when asked about the arrest. And they said, as always, we coordinate closely with the FBI, Louisiana State Police, New Orleans Police Department, NOCM and other agencies and we will continue to do so as we look forward to another safe and joyful jazz festival. You know what? The man is just what is going to put a stop to it. The Jazz Fest is like one of the most chill things in the world. They have like five different stages and everybody brings their lawn chairs. And you know, there's a lot of famous acts like Rolling Stones and Stevie Nicks and you know, every kind of music you can get from Cajun zydeco to whatever. And it has just been another tragedy. And I mean, we can't forget New Year's Eve, New Orleans. I walked right on the spot, sitting I did where the, you know, murders occur. And then all Louisiana, you know, I don't go to the malls. I haven't been to the mall since it opened to shop then a mall, Louisiana's now then you the freshest mall in Louisiana. But I used to have to go there for Lee Michael's fine jury while I was over their security and one of their stores was in that mall. So I went there at least once or twice every year. Only time I go to the mall. And because of shit like this, this is why I sit with my back to the wall facing the door in any restaurant. Because I never know when some bullshit like this is going to happen. And it's everywhere. And now I'm just like, it's like almost every day, you know. The mall Louisiana shooting didn't even make the national news. 17 year old girl dead. I think five other, I don't know how many women did. At least five other ones in whatever. It's time for effed up professionals. Check out this love. This dude is about to do some hard time going to Del Rio, Texas. And a former Savannah High school teacher and track coach has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to sending an undercover agent posing as a young teenager sexually explicit messages while near the high school. According to the court documents, in October 2024, Kenneth Mulkey, who's 44 years old, you Snapchat to ask a user he believed to be a 14 year old child for sexually explicit photo. He was within 40 meters of the Sabinel High School at the time the message was sent. The next day, Mahony sent a sexually explicit photo of himself to who he believes a young teen. He thought he sent a dick pic to a 14 year old, but it was an undercover agent posing as a minor. And he was arrested in January 2025 for an attempted enticement of a minor. And he got 30 years in prison. Boy, you've, I've been inside Texas prisons. They are not nice. No prison is nice, right? But some of them are a lot nicer than others. You don't want to go inside a Louisiana prison and you don't want to go inside a Texas prison and you definitely don't want to go in as a, as a child molester. But getting 30 years for sending A dick pic. Yeah, that's. I mean, most time now we hear about these cases like that and these people get probation. So. Shout out to the justice system that got this 30 years for wanting a naked picture of a 14 year old and sending a naked picture of himself. Himself. All right, we're going to go to Oklahoma's. This is funny, but it's not funny. If you could see this dude's face and. And I'm gonna play the audio clip for you and then I'll tell you about it.
News 9 Reporter
Chief photographer, News photographer at News 9 is in the Oklahoma county jail this afternoon. Darrell Van Ostrant is accused of hiding cameras in the dressing rooms of the TV station's downtown studio and secretly recording employees. The allegations are using photo or video equipment in a clandestine manner in a private place, and if proven, he could be sentenced up to five years in prison. Ben Osterin is being held on a $25,000 bond. Just moments ago, News 9 issued a statement referring to their former employee. They say in part, when the devices were discovered, we immediately contacted the police and have been cooperating fully with their investigation. That's a look at news making headlines in Oklahoma right now.
Woody Overton
All right, y', all, this guy's booking photos. It is. He looks crazy as. And that sin. If you could share this picture. It's just unbelievable. The. I mean, what hidden cameras. I mean, we do those stories all the time about people who are doing this. But the. According to authorities, law enforcement was notified after the janitorial staff found unauthorized cameras in the private dressing room areas of kwtv that was in Oklahoma City. Investigators retrieved two cameras and two portable battery packs, and images and videos were stored on the camera's SD cards. And obviously. Right. The. The analysis of the video footage showed the cameras were repositioned on two different occasions and were accessed multiple times. So you got to get his spank bank material. Timestamps on the footage allowed the investigation to be narrowed down to one suspect, which is Daryl Lee Vanna Nostran, whom police say was sometimes inside the facility when he was not scheduled to work. He entered the building and stayed less than 45 minutes, making connections to the hidden cameras within the time frames under the investigation. On April 2, investigators made contact with Van Nostrum. This dude looks crazy. As crazy as anybody I've ever seen. But they made contact with him at the news station and acknowledged he was aware the hidden cameras were found within the dressing rooms of the building. He also told police that he worked with the type of equipment that had been recovered and he said he had access as the supervisor over the company's photography and videography department. Well, not anymore, buddy. Police said after they told him he was Van Livestroom, whatever his name is, that he's a suspect. He said, you know what? I'mma exercise my right to remain silent. I ain't saying. And at that time he was in possession of two iPhones and three USB drives which police seized. The images uncovered by police depicted the same dressing rooms and same viewing angle with subjects in various states of undress.

Maybe you're going to catch someone in a bra or their panties or something and maybe catch someone on the toilet, whatever. All right. Y' all know we do, you know, the justice for and you know, hashtag just for Bradley. Hashtag just rayo. Hashtag just for Haley. And we got it for Courtney and and Mary Poche and and you know, trying for Ms. Barbara Blunt also. But the these cases are just really hard to solve. Right? Less than 1% of any cold case ever gets solved. And the longer it's cold, the less that chance you have of solving it. Well, I'm gonna end this one on why you never give up, why you keep calling your tips, why no tip is too small. And just don't ever give up. Ever give up. And I'll work on each one of these cases to the day I die or to the. The are in prison, but we're going to Oregon. And a man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the death of his girlfriend back from the 1980s, y'. All. It was a cold case that was recently reopened. Marcus san Fratelio, who's 73 years old now, pled guilty to first degree manslaughter and the death of Teresa Peroni and was sentenced to 20 years in prison with a minimum of 10 years having to be served. So not a lot, but he's 73 already and he can't get out before he's 83, at least. But San Frillo's defense attorney, Elizabeth Baker, said her client had strong motivation to resolve the matter because of the diagnosis of com of a complex health issue. She said this resolution gives the family closure while allowing my client the treatment he urgently requires. Your client he didn't. And she said he will receive treatment while serving a sentence. Well, there you go, you Oregonians. You're paying for this. Killer Peroni disappear our victim in 1983 at age 27 after attending a party in a rural area near the small town of Selma, which is in southern Oregon. Authorities say she Was last seen walking into the woods with San Francillo, her boyfriend at the time authorities investigated where there was not enough evidence to move forward with charges. Well, Fast forward to 1997 and the human skull was found on a nearby property and it was sent to the University of North Texas for examination. Then the sheriff's office reopened the case in 2024 with investigators collecting new DNA evidence and using modern forensic testing with additional DNA experts at the university were able to confirm that the skull belonged to Ms. Peronis. Santa Fe was taken into custody last year in Chico, California and before being extradited to Oregon where he was initially indicted on a higher charge of second degree murder. Quotations for terrestrial family this has been a 43 year wait for an answer they never should have had to wait for. And this according to Oregon attorney general Rayfield. They say cases like this remind us of why we don't give up. Never give up, never surrender. One day. One day the worm will turn in the whether they get to heaven or hell and they got an answer for it or cuffs go on and they go to prison. Never give up. 313rlrc tip it's time for worldwide crime. Y' all gotta do this one. The I said the last one would be the last story for the day but I've got to do this one. We're going out to El salvador and nearly 500 members of the powerful Central American gang Mara Salvatrucha or MS.13 went on trial all at one time in El Salvador. And they are accused of thousands of murders. But all 500 of these are sitting in a courtroom, y'. All. They all have like prison boxers and t shirts on and mask over their face and it just. The picture shows them just lined up or sitting down as far as you can see. So they go. They're on trial for thousands of murders and they said the country is conducting mass trials of thousands of suspected gang members, many of whom have spent years in prison without charge or visiting rights which is the part of their iron fisted president naive Bulake's anti gang crackdown. Now attorney general's office said 486 suspected Ms. Thirteen members went on trial for 47,000 crimes committed between 2012 and 2022, which included 29,000 homicides, 29,000. The El Salvador court system said the trial included members of the national leadership, street level leaders, program coordinators from across the country and the founders of MS.13. Salvadoran authorities accused the group of a range of crimes including the killing of 87 people in a single weekend in March of 2022. In the wake of those killings, the Bukele declared a war on gangs which he said controlled 80% of the Salvadoran territory. Ms. 13 is charged with the crime of rebellion because they sought to establish a parallel state and this according to their attorney general's office. They said we are going to put them on trial and we are going to settle a historic debt. Bukele in 2022 imposed a state of emergency which has been used to arrest more than 91,000 suspected gang members, including thousands of people who were later declared innocent. The campaign, which may be caylee hugely popular, has resulted in a dramatic decrease in crime, turning El Salvador from one of Latin America's most dangerous countries to one of its safest. Well, naturally there's a lot of human rights groups who are pissed off about it and they're saying they're abusing the human rights and no due process and et cetera, et cetera. But you know what it. Sometimes things need to change. Maybe we need to do some of that here. If, you know, if you get on social media and you want to show up at the mall of Louisiana and kill people just to kill, maybe you shouldn't have any fucking rights. But they said the fates of the detainees are now being decided in mass trials with anonymous judges handed down one size fits all punishment to large groups of defendants. Wow. So the MS.13 and the rival Barrio 18 gang operate drug trafficking rings and extortion rackets across Central America. So the. The two gangs were born among Salvadorian youth on the streets of Los Angeles and then it spread back to El Salvador where they terrorized the population for more than 30 years. And Be Kle accused him of murdering 200,000 people over 30 years, including 80,000 who disappeared without a trace. Bruh, what the fuck do you do? And if you live in like that, the, you know, state prosecutor said that they have ample AMB Evidence to request the maximum sentences against the defendants and. But they didn't say if that meant life in prison. Wow, that's crazy. I mean, but you think about that though. If you've got. Your country has been overrun like most of. Unfortunately most of South America is now. Country has been overrun by gangs. You know, they're killing in the street, they cut off the heads of mayors and shoot governors and everything is just don't give a. I mean this. I can't go places I used to go because of this that's happened in the last 30 years. But you think about rounding up 80,000 gang members and they didn't start from there. They started in Los Angeles and went back home and spread their shit. There you have it. The. I don't know, y'. All. I don't know what the answer is. God damn. I'm. I'm afraid for my grandbaby. Yeah. I'm afraid of my kids, which aren't kids anymore, but afraid for my grandbaby and afraid for the grandbabies I have yet to come. What the hell's going to happen? You know, I won't be here in another 30 years. Yeah, they will be. So I love and appreciate each and every one of you. Thanks for liking and listening and sharing.
