Mackenzie (GoFundMe Organizer)
My name's MacKenzie and I started a GoFundMe for the adoptive mother of a nonverbal autistic child. The mother had lost her job because she wasn't able to find adequate care for this autistic child. So she really needed some help with living expenses, paying some back bills. So I launched a GoFundMe to help support them during this crisis and we raised about $10,000 within just a couple of months. I think that the surprising thing was by telling a clear story and just like really being very clear about what we needed, we had some really generous donations from people who were really moved by the situation that this family was struggling with.

Hello everybody and welcome to this episode of True Crime. Time for Wednesday, April 29, 2026 and I'm Woody over still rolling solo. We got busy, busy time of the year, right? Hashtag what happened in Madison. Please continue to call in your tips on all the cases. The hashtag justice for Bradley. Hashtag just for ao. Hashtag just from a Sparrow blunt, y' all call on your tips and the keep them coming. I will forward them to the proper authorities and I'll work on what I can work on. Right. But the what happened to Madison has legs all of its own and the law enforcement has been very professional and good and I know they're handling things and somebody's going to be in trouble. Right. So keep it coming in. I'll give to the right people, make sure things are being done the way they should be done without having to fight the whole world trying to help people. Right. So that being said, July 18th, get your tickets. Don't know how they're long. They're going to last. This is my next live show. Raw and unscripted adult old cop story. It says from 6 to 8 on on the ticket thing, but it's longer than that. Big J's side porch is going to be there catering and with his truck and selling the fire ass food that he makes. And we're going to have, there'll be a bar there, you can have drinks and then we'll have all the merch and all that stuff inside. But the my show, I'll take the stage at approximately six o' clock on the diet and then we'll do about a two hour. I'm gonna do about a two hour show and then after that do the meet and greet. Pictures, photographs and what are y' all want? And I'm everybody's a VIP this time, y'. All. $60 a ticket. Get them while they last. And thank you southeastern Ms. Krista Harson for sponsoring us again. So let's get down to this day in history. When I was 19 years old in 1989 on April 29, Jeff Pelly shot and killed his father, stepmother and two stepsisters, Bob Dawn Janelle and Jolene Pelly. Jeff was caught stealing CDs a few weeks before and was grounded when his father found out Jeff wasn't allowed to go to prom or any other activities while his father being present. Jeff was embarrassed. He didn't like that, right? And he didn't want to do all the activities with his dad and he didn't want his dad to ruin his senior dance. So that is why they believed he killed them is just to go to prom without supervision. Stupid. And hopefully he's rotting away in a prison cell right now. I mean I wouldn't want my dad to go to prom with me either. I mean prom is is that one night where, you know, you're hoping to get down to some business. But I'm not killing my family over so There you have it. And keeping along those lines, it's time for family matters, y'. All. This story is just freaking another horrible one. And there's a mom from rich neighbor neighborhood in the suburb of Boston. She's been arrested in Vermont after the cops say she killed her two young children. Her name is Janet McAuslin. She's 49 years old of Wallace, Massachusetts. And she was taken into custody by police in Bennington, Vermont on Friday night after she arrived at a family home in that town appearing highly distraught and having a visible bloody neck injury. So officers got there and they attempt to engage her in conversation. And during that interaction they became increasingly concerned for the welfare of her children. This according to the Bennington Police Department. Police say they contacted the Wellesley's authorities for a welfare check at her Massachusetts home. And when the police arrived on the scene, that's when they made the grizzly discovery. They said McAuslin's two children were found dead. They took Mike Austin into custody as a fugitive from justice and said Massachusetts issued a criminal warrant for two counts of murder. And she's being held in the Marble Valley Correctional Facility in Vermont and will be arraigned on Monday afternoon in Rutland Criminal Division court. And of course they don't know whether she has an attorney or not or whatever, but McAulin's husband, Samuel McAuslin had filed for divorce in October after nine years of marriage, citing ir. Retrievable breakdown of marriage. And this according to the court records. Those documents also list their two children, 7 year old Kai and 6 year old Ella. Samuel was seeking custody of the children. That's crazy. The, the, the children attend the local elementary school. And then it said we were devastated to learn the tragic death of two of our WPS students, a second grader and a kidney gardener at Schofield Elementary School. That's crazy. I said this is an unimaginable loss that will be deeply felt not just at Schofield, but across our entire community. Our crisis team is planning support for students, staff and families as we prepare for the reopening of school on Monday. I asked, we all keep this family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time and we certainly will. And I said, I know Boston doesn't have it. Boston doesn't have it, y'. All. No death penalty for killing your kids in, in Massachusetts. So. But I don't know how, just, just know how it gets there to that point. And I've worked in on different cases and I still don't understand how it gets there, y'. All I don't even know what category to put this under, but they, you know, I remember about the Chinese drones flying overhead and all that. And my buddy was out here the other day at the house and he was off in the. We had a bunch of people. We were born crawfish. And he was off by himself and he kept looking at it. I thought it was like his phone. And he called me over and it was a drone. He was flying a drone and he was flying it all over my property. And it was freaking amazing. And he brought the thing back over. Hell, I could, I couldn't even see it, it was so high in the sky until he turned a light on. And the technology is amazing. It's kind of like, like AI. I don't even think they scratched the surface of what they can do with it yet. Right. And in some of it, natural human nature is going to be used for nefarious shit. And I'm going to tell you about this one they're calling a nightmare scenario. And it really, really is. So it's nearly $870,000 worth of industrial drones capable of dispersing large amounts of liquid chemicals were stolen from a New Jersey company in what could become a. They're calling it a nightmare scenario. So the 15 series Air C31 drones were stolen from the CAC International in Harrison, New Jersey on March 24th. And this is according to the High side substack. Now, the drones were allegedly stolen by a delivery driver who duped the company. The New Jersey State Police recovered the drones on Monday. And the agency they're telling this in a release to Fox News Digital On April 27, the New Jersey State Police Cargo Theft Unit recovered 15 stolen agricultural drones and spray systems. These drones are labeled as agriculture drones due to their specified function as a registered crop dusters. The theft occurred on March 24 at the CAC International, which is a logistics and shipping company located in Harrison, New Jersey. The drones were recovered at Prudent Corporation located in Dover, New Jersey. This, they say this is an active ongoing investigation that Homeland Security investigations and Customs and Border Patrol are assisting with and no additional information is available. That's according to news our Jersey State Police. But let me tell you about these drawings. They said one of these Air C31s costs around $58,000. So it was 870,000 total that were stolen. Reports said that a fraudulent bill was shown when picking up the drones and the CAC International considered those bills to be legit and just gave them out. Right. Another day at the Office not thinking that some assholes stealing all your shit. But these drones are equipped to hold and spray up to 40 gallons of liquid chemicals. And this is what's making the government say, oh, fog. I said this was one of the most highly sophisticated thefts as according to FBI, that that we've seen in a long time, which is the main thing that has lost their spook. The former FBI agent Steve Lazarus said drones could be a danger to the public. Even common chemicals used improperly can be a public safety danger. Throw in the Internet recipes for biological chemical weapons that anyone with a Tor browser has access to and this is a potential nightmare scenario. Lazar said this during the interview with the High side. These aren't hobby drones with cameras. These are industrial sprayers designed to carry and disperse significant amounts of liquid quickly and with precision. They said the bureau is freaked out for good reason. The US army raised concerns in a 2020 report stating that such chemical spraying drones could be used in attacks. Such drones are readily available, could be used as a delivery system for chemical or biological attacks. Now a UAS or chemical biological warfare. And yeah, that's what I did in the army, but mine had nuclear in it also. But the UAS delivery platform is a definite possibility especially for developing nations. This is a government's own report and yeah, I mean around and find out. Think about this. The World War I, like the mustard gas, all it was was chlorine gas. I mean, you could go to your local pool supply store, dilate a bunch of chlorine tablets into water to 40 gallons of water and fly that over the French Quarter and dump it. You may not kill everybody, but you're going. You're going to kill some and you're going to blind some and choke some to death or whatever. That's crazy. I don't know how you stop this. What they're talking about the tour, y'. All, that's what we call an Onion browser. That's how you get to the Dark Web or how you search the web is through these tours and they. If the cops try to look and see who it is, it gives a different whatever they call that home address where you're searching from, but it jumps all around the world sits impossible to track. Again, part of New Outlaw. I don't know. I don't want any part of that. So hopefully it doesn't happen. All right, we're gonna go out to Chicago and I was there when this happened, but there's been an update. So a man in Chicago, allegedly. No, he did it A man in Chicago randomly killed six people over a nine month period back in 2020. And he was, he was a teenager at the time that he killed all these people, right? Six people, teenager, yeah, whatever. Right. He was already in custody at the Cook County Jail for murdering another guy, Louis Devalles Garcia, who was 26, and he murdered him back in June of 2020. Authorities have since charged him with five additional murders in Eleanor. Neil Burke described the crime scenes as serial murders. So on April 22nd, Larry Snelling of the Chicago PD announced that Antonio Reyes has been charged with five felony counts of first degree murder and four felony counts of attempted first degree murder. Now, these charges stem from the killings of a 31 year old man on March 2nd of 2020, a 21 year old man on April 5th of 2020, a 16 year old boy on May 1st of 2020, and a 31 year old man on November 8th, 2020, and a 20 year old man on November 9th of 2020. Serial killer legit, right? Two more people, separate times. Whatever you motive may be, they said he is also facing charges for the attempted murder of another victim on April 5th of 2020 and the attempted murder of three children ages 3 to 9 on November 8th of 2020. And according to Snellen, the three children were in the same car with an adult male who was killed in a barrage of bullets. Now, Antoinette Yusetti said at a news conference that a breakthrough in the investigation came after the discovery of shell casings from a.40 caliber handgun in 2020. The evidence was linked to a weapon used in other crime scenes. And she noted that investigators had to comb through an immense amount of physical and digital evidence to place right Reyes at the scenes. Estelle told reporters, when we're dealing with someone this violent, we have to remove them from the streets. This started when Mr. Reyes was a teenager. And guess what? It was never going to stop. But Antonio Reyes was first charged in the death of I told you this, Louis Devallis Garcia. And according to local wj, the victim was parked outside his girlfriend's house with a baby on board sign in his car window when Reyes shot him to death. They. They still don't have a motive in that case, y'. All. But investigators said he may have been upset about a recent breakup. They said none of these people had ever met Antonio Reyes before. And there's no reason to suspect Antonio Reyes had any reason to target them. But that's exactly what he did. And Ms. Burke added the news conference that after Reyes was taken into custody, he tried to kill his cellmate with a shank inside the Cook county jail in 2022. And he's. Guess what? He's pled not guilty to all the charges. And I already know because how much I love Chicago and how shitty of a shape it's in now. Double sure. Check my board, y'. All. Thank you lifers for it. Nope, Illinois does not have the death penalty. This dude has been a killer since he was a teenager. Gets locked up and even two years after that, he's still trying to kill inside of prison. At what point is enough enough? Now you gotta house his ass and a one man cell. It's gonna cost you about $120,000 a year, the state of Illinois to house him for the rest of his life. Much cheaper to inject him anyway. Beast mode. Nobody likes to hear this kind of story. I don't like to hear it. But here it is.
Abby Davis (Fox News Reporter)
A Portland woman whose dogs killed a young boy will spend just over two years behind bars. A Multnomah county judge just handed down that sentence after an emotional afternoon in court. Foxtros. Abby Davis was there and joins us now live to take. Tell us more. Abby, can you walk us through what happened? Yeah. It was a really heavy couple of hours with the victim's sister saying she'll never be able to get over her grief. The sentencing comes more than two years after Miller's two dogs killed her friend's grandson. On December 5, 2023, police rushed to Miller's home in Northeast Portland. When officers arrived, they discovered the dogs described as great Danger Mastiff Mixes had mauled six year old Loyalty Scott to death. Loyalty was at Miller's house waiting to be dropped off at school. Family members of the young boy sobbed in the gallery as his aunt, cousin, grandma and sister shared how the tragedy has affected their lives. Here's some of what they had to say.
Woody Overton
I will no longer be able to Accept the fact that I have my brother, that I no longer have my brother anymore. You will never get to experience high

school nor middle school.
Orko Mana (Predator Poachers Founder)
There's a constant ache in knowing that
Woody Overton
a child I love should still be here. Growing, laughing and learning, becoming who he was meant to be.
Abby Davis (Fox News Reporter)
Miller was found guilty of criminally negligent homicide, maintaining a dangerous dog and two counts of first degree criminal mistreatment earlier this year. For much of the sentencing, she sat with her hands in her head, shaking, even crying at some points. She told the judge she loved Loyalty and that she wishes she could have protected him.
Woody Overton
I know whatever I say will not bring him back. Believe me when I tell you I wish every day I could trade places with him.
Orko Mana (Predator Poachers Founder)
I wish I was the one who died so he could grow up.
Abby Davis (Fox News Reporter)
Despite those words, the judge said Miller has not taken any personal responsibility or accountability for Loyalty's death. That's why she sentenced her to two years and two months behind bars. The judge also said the circumstances of this case justified giving Miller the harshest penalty possible and that no sentence would be enough to reflect the pain and the loss that Loyalty's family has gone through. Reporting live from day downtown, Abby Davis, Foxville, Oregon

Ranger no so there you have it. Absolutely no winners in this case. Right? The young great Dane Mastiff mix. That's huge dogs y' all like 150 plus pounds. But evidently you know the judge didn't like the lady's answers and or what have you the I don't know. But the little six year old boy gone forever and I just couldn't imagine. I mean I'm sure she is sorry as hell now. Right. But I don't know. But no winners. No winners in that. And prayers for that boy's family. Yeah. No matter how many times I sit in on trials or my trials and get done in the very end you get to give the victim's impact statements and then they get to make a statement. You just never know how much emotion there is in a courtroom during that time. And that Courtney Coco's Mary Pochet just since I've been in podcasting that were crazy enough but I can tell you some. Maybe one day I'll have to do an episode on victims impact statements because that is this. Yeah, that's. That's when people get killed in the courtroom too and when emotions are so high. We begin tonight with the KHU 11 exclusive. A popular online group known for finding
Orko Mana (Predator Poachers Founder)
and confirming potential child predators across the
Woody Overton
country is based right here in Houston.
Abby Davis (Fox News Reporter)
Their latest so called sting was in laporte earlier this week. But police have concerns about their actions, calling them a vigilante group. Orko Mana, he is live after speaking with a man who started the group. Orko. What is he telling you?
Orko Mana (Predator Poachers Founder)
Well, he says he started the group called predator poachers because he just wanted to catch bad guys and the Houston area. His team has now gone nationwide, but police say they want them to work with law enforcement ahead of time instead of doing it on their own. These child predators are a massive problem society. That's why seven years ago, Houston resident Alex Rosen took matters into his own hands. He created predator poachers, a group that goes undercover to catch potential criminals. We do have fake accounts online and predators from across the country message us under the assumption that we're minors. What's the main mission of Predator poachers? Our goal is to identify, confront, expose and help prosecute online child predators across the country. Rosen tells me their efforts have led to arrests in all 50 states. His team helps run the fake accounts and film his confrontations. And it's mostly funded by donations.
Woody Overton
It is a rainy day here in La porte, Texas.
Orko Mana (Predator Poachers Founder)
This is video of Rosen during predator poacher's most recent so called sting this past Tuesday in this Laporte neighborhood. Rosen says a member of his team who was undercover connected with someone online who he claims that sent pornographic images and wanted to meet for sex and they went to his home. He agreed to talk to us and during our conversation he admitted to all the messages, admitted to talking to other minors online. As young as 10 years old, the poor police showed up, took everyone's electronic devices, but say they couldn't do much.
Woody Overton
Obviously the vigilante group wanted law enforcement to take immediate action and that's not exactly the way that works. Law enforcement need to investigate.
Orko Mana (Predator Poachers Founder)
What about the pictures and messages on those devices?
Woody Overton
Our forensic investigators have to verify whether or not that's actually first, that it's valid and then where did it come from?
Orko Mana (Predator Poachers Founder)
Do you recommend these vigilante groups take this kind of action?
Woody Overton
If you want to be an activist group and help out, then great, then turn over stuff and get law enforcement involved to get it done right in the end and to get convictions. We've got to do it the right way.
Orko Mana (Predator Poachers Founder)
What's your response to that? There is no investigative process before we got involved and all the evidence is already just documented for the cops. That doesn't impede an investigation, that aids an investigation. Laporte PD tells me the Harris County, Harris county district attorney's office did not accept criminal charges. Telling police to resubmit the case after looking through the phones and other devices that they collected. Meanwhile, Rosen tells me that he's already getting ready to head out of state for predator poachers next sting. Reporting live from Houston tonight, Orcomana KHOU 11 News or Commander taking a closer look at what they do. Thank you, sir.
Woody Overton
I'm giving that a double. All right, I want to discuss this for a second. Totally get where the cops are coming from. You just, you know, you go out there, you do it on your own. You get the guy. You get the guy. I'm sure they were recording him to admit to sending the dirty pics and requesting pics from the minor. He thinks it's a minor he's dealing with. He drove from however far to get there to have sex with a minor. I mean, you've given them a gift wrap package, right? It it even with a confession now, then you turn it over to the cops and the cops are like, fuck me in the, you know, oh, you should have came to us first and da da, da, da, da. Well, kind of a double edged sword. If they go to you first, then they're going to cut you out. They're going to use their own people. But it's not a competition. I get that, but I'm just saying there's nothing wrong with these vigilantes doing it first that they've got arrest in all 50 states by now. They know what lines not to cross. And I'm sure they have lawyers involved, people that are dedicating their time. They know what lines not to cross. But here you are, here's your whole package and you take it to your D A and D A is like, hey, go back and actually look this stuff up, do your job, get it right. And so I get that and I understand that. But the. My point, my take on the whole shebang is exactly what that dude's take is, which is motherfucker shouldn't have been out there trying to fuck a kid, right? You're out there trying to have sex with a kid. You're spending your time, you're going to drive from how far away you're showing up. You already sent dick pics and whatever else. And, and you give a full confession, which most pedophiles will. You give a full confession and everything else, you know what the. To that group for getting it done. Because had they not taken the initiative, not dedicated their time and resources to do this, that person who will eventually end up getting arrested after the Cops do the formal investigation and get subpoenas and all that and get this guy in. They're going to get warrants for him. It's been given to him on a silver platter. The he's going to prison. But if he hadn't been out there trying to rape a baby, none of this would have happened. Right. Shout out to those people, right? I mean it's better individuality groups that brothers probably. I guarantee there's vigilante groups out there that do the same type thing to get the, the pedophile in and just beat the shit out of them or kill them or take them to murder by you. Anyway, we're gonna go out to St. Louis county and you know, actually killing somebody for a lot of reason, self defense or attacking your family, they're doing this or doing that, what have you, but never gonna catch me for killing someone for this. In St. Louis county, prosecutors have filed a multiple felony charges against 20 year old Jada Bell in connection with the fatal drive through shooting of a restaurant employee, Chancea Meekins. Now the rest and charges they said mark a significant development in a case that has shocked the local community. Authorities announced on Monday that Bell faces six felony counts including first degree murder. Let's look it up. Missouri's got the death penalty, so that's on the table. Unlawful use of a weapon, first degree assault and three counts of armed criminal action. Now here's the deal. Figure it out. This is, this is how much life is worth today. So these charges stem from April 8 incident at the stake in Shake in north St. Louis county where Meekins, who was 32, was shot and killed during. Wait for it. A dispute triggered by disagreement over onion rings. Yeah, you heard me correct. Onion rings. According to investigators, the confrontation escalated rapidly after Bell threw a drink at Meekins during an argument about her order. Police say Meekins responded by tossing a drink back. At which point Bill pulls out a firearm and opens fire and shot Meekins multiple times. A stray bullet. Because you can't, you know, not a fucking firearms instructor. A stray bullet also struck another employee which caused an additional injury. Of course they had surveillance foot in the state. Can Shake and other people taking their own cell phone data and they have DNA evidence and witnesses. Steak and shake's going to be busy. That all been cited as key elements to linking bail to the crime scene. Law enforcement officials stated that while the charges may offer some measure of justice, they cannot undo the loss. And absolutely correct, miss. She's never coming back. Right? The prosecutors and community leaders are using this case to highlight broader concerns about conflict escalation and youth violence. We have figured it out and ask it here in Louisiana recently.
Mackenzie (GoFundMe Organizer)
My name is Mackenzie and I started a GoFundMe for the adoptive mother of a non verbal autistic child.

Prosecutor Melissa's Price Smith called for increased investment in early intervention and de escalation strategies, while County Executive Sam Page has proposed a 1.7 million allocation toward crime prevention initiatives as part of Crime Prevention Month. And of course, authorities say the case serves as a stark reminder of how quickly everyday disputes can spiral into irreversible tragedy. Well, you know why? Because nobody gives a about life anymore. Yep. Watch too many movies, do whatever. You can't blame it on movies. But the no, never specific. And kids at the mall, not kids. And they call them groups. The gangs at the mall, LA show up, solve a dispute at the food court. Well, nothing says let's solve it like a bunch of guns and an innocent girl getting killed. It's time for family matters, y'. All. We're gonna roll out to Texas for this one. And a Texas elementary school's assistant principal was killed in her own home with her teacher husband saying he accidentally shot her in the face. And the cops. This according to the cops who charged him with manslaughter. Lindsay Velasquez, who's 42, is described as a devoted and loving mother to her three daughters. She was found unconscious unconscious at her home in Benbrook, which is suburb of Fort Worth, late on Friday and pronounced dead at a hospital. Her husband Alberto, who's a social studies teacher in the same school district, reported having shot her in the face by accident without saying anything about what led up to the shooting. Right suspicious. He was charged with manslaughter and in Texas that carries a maximum of 20 years or $10,000 fine and he's since been released from jail and bond. But he declined to make a comment via his attorney and they said Lindsay with so many things, so many people. A daughter, wife, sister, aunt and a dear friend. But above, above all else, she was a devoted and loving mother to her three beautiful daughters who were the very center of her world and they have a fundraiser for y'. All. They said they were her purpose, her pride and her greatest joy. The loss of Lindsay Lee's a void that we felt forever in the lives of those who loved her. Especially her daughters who now face a future without their mother's presence, guidance and unwavering love, y'. All. The victim, Ms. Velasquez was in her second year as assistant principal at Luella Merritt Elementary School. And of course they're deeply inside by the loss and and Lindsay's brother Martin said she went to heaven to be the most kick ass angel there is. I'll miss you forever, big sis. Your impact has been and will be greater than you will ever get to know. Well truth on that right. And the thankfully he's taken that approach to it but if you shoot your wife in the face and it truly is an accident then I mean I y' all I've got a thought. I'm literally a thousand firearms. Every one of them's loaded. My kids are trained every everybody that comes to my house I tell them if you see a firearm you don't touch it. The they're all loaded because you know what they're loaded even if they aren't loaded. Right. I'm not being unsafe, I'm just telling you but kills is when you pull that trigger. The husband had to pull the trigger at some point and just happened to accidentally shoot your wife in the face. Well me as a cop your ass would have got charged too. Now if you were sitting on the couch cleaning it and there's four other people in the room they see you cleaning it and this actually happened but when four people in the room it was two friends in the room and dude was had his new pistol and he's cleaning and his friend's laying on the couch and he loaded it and squeezed the trigger because he didn't know any better and shot his friend in the head. Yeah he got charged with negligent homicide also and that was in the state of Louisiana. The your finger is your safety and if you're innocent why in the not say oh my God, I'm so sorry I did this like Brooks Cleary in Haley's case he said everything about he didn't even know by the time he got to the police department that he had done it. According to him it's time for family matters

person for an 82 year old man is facing charges accused of killing his wife.

This all unfolded after a well being check in Groveland twice two Spencer Tracy is live at the police station And Spencer, you've been speaking with neighbors who knew the couple. Sonica, these neighbors tell me they are absolutely heartbroken. They say this elderly couple always kept to themselves. So when they heard the news, not only has it been gruesome and tragic, but just so hard for them to process. Flashing lights filled a quiet Groveland neighborhood Sunday night. Police say this all started with a call for a well being checked.
Woody Overton
First thing we saw was just a lot of cop cars, ambulance, fire trucks, the whole nine yard.
Abby Davis (Fox News Reporter)
But when officers arrived around 9pm Police say they found 82 year old Vincent Defraya inside the living room in another part of the home. His wife, 84 years old, was found dead with what investigators say appeared to be blunt force trauma to her head. Officers found a hammer next to her.
Woody Overton
They are really nice couple. You know, I see the husband most of the time the wife has been in the house.
Abby Davis (Fox News Reporter)
Police say Defraya was also found with injuries that appeared consistent with self harm and was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Investigators say the couple had previously discussed what was described as a possible suicide pact involving pills about a month ago.
Woody Overton
We all still kind of just battling with it and you know, and for the victim too. You know, she was really a nice lady as well even, even though we don't see her that much, but she was, she was really nice. So, you know, I'm just kind of blown by this and very sad.
Abby Davis (Fox News Reporter)
Neighbors in this quiet community say they're struggling to process what happened inside the home of a couple that they knew for years.
Woody Overton
For the most part, you know, it's a quiet neighborhood. Everybody get along. There's a lot of elderly people that live here and most of the homeowners been here since day one. And, and yeah, this is just sad. It's unfortunate.
Abby Davis (Fox News Reporter)
And gran. Police tell us that Defra is now being held in the Lake county jail and is facing first degree murder charges. Of course, we'll continue to keep you updated on this tragic story. I'm covering Lake county live in Groveland. Spencer Tracy, West 2 News.
Woody Overton
All right, y', all, we'll talk about it for a second. He's ADT, she's 84. I don't know at what point someone found out. They had talked about doing a suicide pack before and they're not under mental health care. I don't know. Wasn't there. Not my job I guess. This is a beautiful neighborhood outside of Orlando. It's like a million dollar home in 82 and 84. Brings me back to my mother and father. They were my mother's 84. My dad would have been 84 if he was still alive. You can only imagine that they were married for however long. But what point do you decide to cave your wife's head in? And. Why was there a welfare check as I have a lot of questions. But the and he has some self harm stuff to himself. Maybe he had dementia, I don't know. The. But he's charged with first degree murder because it's Florida and killing the person and that's 84 in Florida will get you the death penalty. Now will this guy ever see it or does he deserve it? Does he have paranoid dementia or whatever? I had a friend of mine who was the judge for I don't know, 30 something years and he had the paranoid dementia. And at noon I think I know I've told this story before. At noon in the middle of the day, his wife of I don't know like 40 years came home from Walmart. She was his caretaker also and he thought she was an intruder and so he blew her in half with a shotgun. And this guy spent his whole life being a judge. You would think you would hate hear about cases like this. It's you know, 82 and 84 years old but then just kids killing, right? And you would think you almost want it to be some type of mental issue and not just think that after all these years together this dude just said, you know what it I've had enough of her and I'm gonna cave her head in. I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know. But I love and appreciate each and every one of y'. All. Y' all continue to share hashtag what happened to Madison, it's going everywhere. But the thing is you don't have to comment. Just when you see like these different missing women groups and all these that are picking it up, it's on all on Facebook and whatever just put in hashtag what happened to Madison because it gets it to more groups and let's stop the next person from being a victim. Right? And only y' all can do that. It was proven another podcast in Louisiana and I don't know it the the name of the podcast but the police use them and they just solve that cold case I told you about yesterday. I think four, four or five guys are now 40 something years later under the rest for the rape and murder of a girl back in the early 80s. Never give up. But they only got it because the podcast took the time to do it and and worked with the police and developed new suspects and a timeline on the girl and everything else. We can do the same thing here. We're doing the same thing here and we've done in the past. We'll do it again without all the craziness. With the the goal is to solve the case. I don't care who gets credit for it or what happens. I get paid the same whether I'm reading the phone book or I'm working a hashtag justice4 or what happened to the I could be doing whatever in my sponsors. They don't know what kind of stories I'm telling. So I'm not making money off these people directly. But I do believe in justice and I believe in getting serial killers off the street and I believe everybody deserves justice. No matter what your socioeconomic class is, no matter what your lifestyle is, you could be a total angel or a total you don't deserve to be murdered. All right, and I'm Woody Overton, your host of True Crime. Time for this April 29, 2026 and I love and appreciate each and every one of you. I'll holler at you later. Peace.
