Hello everybody and welcome to True Crime Time 4 Saturday, February 21, 2026 and I am Cindy Overton. We tried y'. All. We're going to be able to get it. But Woody has other things that just needed his attention today and he was not able to record to give me time to edit and produce on time. So I am doing this alone. So let's just go ahead and get started with this day in history. So on this day in 1987, Vicki Heath was murdered in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, at a Super 8 motel. Heath was robbed and then murdered, marking the beginning of the days in murders. Margaret Gill, Jean Gilbert, and an unidentified woman who was left for dead after an attack were all victims of the serial killer. Thirty years after the murders, the murderer was identified as Henry Edward Greenwell through advanced DNA analysis. Now, he, by the time he was identified, if I am not mistaken, he had already passed away. And, yes, did a quick search, and he was already dead when he was identified as what he was also known as the i65 killer in 2022. So he had committed the murders in the late 80s, and he died of cancer on January 31, 2013, which was nine years before forensic genealogy linked his DNA to the crimes. So although he got away with it in life, he definitely did not get away with it in death.

Well, we're starting off with a family matters, and Woody and I used to watch American Idol. We've enjoyed watching American Idol over the years, and we've watched the series of new judges come around and some, you know, come and go, and some are better than others. But that's not what this is about. In 2013, American Idol kicked off season 12 with Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, and Keith Urban. They were taking over as judges. Now, most remember Candace Glover because she was the contestant that won that season. But there was another contestant, Caleb Flynn, and he's recently made headlines because he was arrested after police located his wife's body in their home in Tipp City, Ohio. On Monday, February 16, police rushed to the couple's home during an attempted home invasion. Now, sadly, Ashley Flynn was shot and killed while her children were asleep in another room. Authorities used canine units and drones to search the surrounding area, but police found no suspect at the time. Tipp City Chief Greg Adkins released a statement about the murder. The Flynn family is coping with an unimaginable loss. He added that the police department believed it was an isolated incident targeting this specific residence. He didn't give away more details. He just kind of left it at that. And the investigation continued. Well, it took a shocking turn when police apprehended Caleb on Thursday and booked him in the county jail for the murder of his wife. According to authorities, Caleb staged the entire incident to help hide his crime. Authorities suggested that the former American Idol singer shot and killed Ashley with a 9 millimeter semiautomatic. Handgun. Now he's facing charges for murder, felonious assault with a deadly weapon, and tampering with evidence. Caleb has pled not guilty, of course, and the court set his bond to 2 million. The latest development in Ashley's murder has drawn renewed interest in Caleb's short stint on American Idol. And so it was during season 12 that fans first met the singer who opened up about his love for not just Jesus, but also his wife. This is a quote from him, I absolutely love the Lord. I love my wife more than anything. She is very, very pretty. I love her. Then he added, but you know, I'm just a normal person who absolutely loves to sing more than anything in the world. Now he was labeled a music pastor during his audition and he really didn't win over the judges. And the case is ongoing and the Tipp City Police Department thanked the community for their patience and support throughout the investigation. And they also said, we also extend our sincere appreciation to the many agencies that have assisted and continue to assist in the investigation involving the tragic loss of life. And as the investigation transitions into the courtroom, Flynn remains jailed while authorities and prosecutors continue to build their case, while further details are expected to emerge as the legal process moves forward. We have a pictious intruder that was taken to the local animal control without incident. This story is kind of funny and it comes from People magazine and the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office says that they have a snack seeking suspect and this snack seeking suspect was later identified as Penelope and Penelope surrendered peacefully. And it goes on to say everyone needs a snack from time to time, including North Carolina resident Penelope the pig who was willing to commit petty theft to satisfy her hunger. According to a social media post shared on Tuesday, February 17 by the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to an unusual report on February 16 where a pig had wandered into a home in the Ellenborough area. The pig, later identified as Penelope by her owners, showed zero fear, maximum confidence, and the motive seemed to be finding snacks. After a short standoff involving a pack of crackers and some highly questionable negotiations, Deputy successfully convinced the suspicious, suspicious individual to surrender. The pig was taken into custody without incident and transport well, without further incident and transported to Rutherford County Animal Control Services, which is operated by Heart of Foothills Animal Rescue. There is a video of this in this article. Deputies confirmed that children were in the home at the time of the incident. And of course they found the whole situation hilarious. Moments like this remind us that community policing is not always lights and sirens. Sometimes it is patience, sometimes it is laughter, and sometimes it is arresting a pig for breaking and entering. And we have an update. Officials confirmed that the pig's owner has been located and reunited with the naughty pet, and there was no court date required. Other animals have also made headlines recently for breaking into buildings. In January, a distressed and bloody deer jumped through a bank window in Ridge, New York in search for other bucks. Get the pun? Get the joke? In a video recently released by the Suffolk County Police Department, the deer repeatedly rammed into teller barriers and and leapt onto desk as officers attempted to comment. The footage also captured the devastation left behind, including shattered glass and visible blood splatters. They say splatters in this report and we have been vehemently corrected in the beginning of real life, real crime that it's spatter on the walls. A similar incident occurred a few weeks later in Florida when a deer entered a kitchen of a home. In a video shared by local authorities, the visibly stressed animal struggled to stand on the linoleum floor. Poor thing, according to officials. Deputies calmed the deer, gently petting its head as they tried to help it regain its footing. In a social media post, the Orange County Sheriff's Office summarized the incident, said the deputies helped calm it, guided into the backyard and safely back into the woods. So I guess those stories were to break up the content of someone killing their wife and this next story.

and we're going to Indiana and we have an Indiana man who's headed to prison for shooting his estranged wife in the back while she was five months pregnant and he seriously injured her and he killed the unborn baby. Jeremy McBride, who's 37 years old, was sentenced to 30 years in prison Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to attempted murder and feticide. He received 30 years for the attempted murder charge and nine years for the feticide charge in connection with the shooting of Kayla Netherland. The sentences will be served concurrently. McBride received credits for the 395 days he had already served for, plus another 131 days. This was according to the sentencing order. This story is from Law and Crime and Law and Crime previously reported. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police department responded around 6pm on January 19th of 2025 to a shooting in the 700 block of East Pleasant Run Parkway. Officers arrived to find Netherland, who was at that time 25 years old, in the bathroom suffering from gunshot wounds, paramedics rushed her to the hospital. While doctors were able to stabilize her, they were not able to save the child, according to a probable cause arrest affidavit obtained by Law and Crime. Around the time of the shooting, one of the Netherlands friends arrived at the home to do laundry and walked inside. She saw McBride standing over Netherland. McBride looked at the friend and simply walked out the front door without a word. The friend told police she believed obviously McBride was responsible for shooting Netherland and using license plate readers, Officers tracked down McBride and pulled him over. At that time, McBride got out of the car, which rolled away because it wasn't put in park and it hit a pole. He told the officer, I was going to turn myself into the police station. And then he said the gun in question was in the car. He then allegedly asked, is she okay? Once he got into the police car. Then police recovered the gun and handwritten notes to his estranged wife discussing their relationship. McBride wrote to Netherland of his frustrations with her infidelity. His frustrations were with their failed relationship, his anger and insecurities which led him to mistreat others, his belief he has not molded himself into an individual she would want to have children with and that he wanted children with her. After receiving his Miranda rights or Miranda warnings, the defendant told detectives he he was upset that while they hadn't gotten divorced, she had gotten pregnant by another man. The marriage hadn't been going well and they had separated in September of 2024. But he hoped they could get back together. McBride also wrote, maybe she will come back one day, but not for me. But in many ways I killed her. He bought a gun and ammunition a few days before the shooting with the intent of killing her, the baby and himself. McBride said he and Netherland had been hanging out on the day of the shooting. They went shopping at Goodwill before returning to her house and they were talking with her in the bathroom and him sitting on the bed. He reportedly said shooting her just made sense at that moment. So he fired five shots into her back and she never saw him shoot. The Marion county prosecutor, Ryan Mears, said, certainly what is alleged is this person went to great lengths to carry out what he intended to do. Cops say Netherland underwent at least two surgeries, one to remove the unborn baby and the other to address her internal injuries. So my goodness. Well, as y' all know, Woody sends me stories. Feel like we're going several places in this story. So we have a woman who fled across several states before fatally striking an Indiana woman with her car and she was taken into custody in Florida. Adria Wilkerson, who is 31 years old, was arrested by the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday in connection with a fatal car crash that claimed the life of 45 year old Vicki Cooley. And according to court documents obtained by the local Fox affiliate wxin, a warrant for Wilkinson Wilkerson's arrest was issued by Indiana's Grant county, where Wilkerson struck Cooley's vehicle head on with her black BMW. Fudge with her black BMW after driving recklessly through a farmer's fence and winding up in a cow pasture. She made her way back to the road and then she struck Cooley's Chevrolet, trapping her inside and causing fatal injuries. Wilkerson's journey began in upstate New York in the village of Corinth after Wilkerson abandoned her child. Her family told police that the 31 year old mother had a history of suicidal ideology, but more details about what led to her seemingly leave her child behind were not provided. After leaving New York, Wilkerson headed west and drove through Indiana. Police responded at 4pm on October 1st of 2025 after receiving reports about a black BMW driving recklessly on a state road near Oak Hill High School in Converse, Indiana. According to court documents. Police began receiving reports about the vehicle and this vehicle was later identified as the one being Driven by Wilkerson 18 minutes before the crash was reported. When police arrived at the scene, they found Wilkerson's BMW on fire. Wilkerson was able to get out of her car with assistance and was taken by helicopters to the hospital with serious injuries. Cooley was removed from her car and after being trapped inside, unfortunately she died at the hospital. Originally her death was ruled an accident, but then police did what they do and they investigated and they got a clearer picture of how Wilkerson was driving before her vehicle struck coolies. An arrest warrant was issued for Wilkerson on February 13, charging her with reckless homicide and reckless driving. Authorities in Sarasota county announced that Wilkerson was located in Venice, Florida and was arrested by deputies on Tuesday and she's being held in Sarasota County Jail until she is extradited to Indiana to face charges. That was some good police work there. I'm glad they got her and I am so sorry for Cooley's family and honestly for her family because she abandoned her children and

Today with some family matters we have A Wisconsin woman has been accused of joining a physical fight against a school security guard and then threatening to commit a school shooting. Yeshiva Daniels, who is 33 years old, is in custody at the Milwaukee County Jail after being arrested on February 13th. Daniels was at the Green Tree Preparatory Academy in Milwaukee that afternoon before school let out. Police said that before Daniels showed up, a school security guard told a 14 year old girl that she was not allowed to be on her phone while class was still in session. The student then became disrespectful with staff members and threatened to round up some of her friends and soon class was dismissed and that was when Daniels arrived and quote unquote came into the building without permission. According to the complaint, Daniels immediately confronted the security guard who reprimanded the 14 year old and started punching her. The 14 year old girl and two more students then joined the fight and began punching and hitting the guard as well, which prompted two more guards to try to break up the fight. Those guards told police that they were also struck multiple times. Police said the three guards suffered blows to the head, had contusions and scratches as a result of the fight with Daniels and the three teenage students. By the end of the physical altercation, Daniels was yelling at the guards saying she was fixing to come back and shoot up this While the complaint did not specify the relationship between Daniels and the students, a local Fox affiliate obtained a letter sent by Greentree Prep to parents following the incident that stated a parent, a relative and a related student were involved in a disruption on campus. The email stated that the school issued a no trespass order against Daniels, and Daniels was charged with two counts of battery to a school district officer as a party to a crime, making terroristic threats and misdemeanor disorderly conduct. And she's being held at the Milwaukee county jail on a $20,150 cash bail and her next court date was actually scheduled for Thursday. Well, there's another one Foreign.

Authorities in Kentucky have arrested a 17 year old boy in connection with the deaths of a woman and her 12 year old son in Allen County. The teenager is facing multiple charges, including two counts of murder after deputies discovered the victims inside a home on Wednesday. According to Allen County Sheriff's Office, deputies initially responded to the residents following a report of a domestic assault and when they arrived they found two individuals deceased inside the home. Officials did not immediately release details about the circumstances surrounding the deaths, but confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody shortly afterward. There is a video related to this story. The investigation has since been turned over to Kentucky State Police and Trooper Kayton Parker identified the victims as 42 year old Tracy Trotsky and her 12 year old son. Authorities confirmed that Traski was was the child's mother and details about how the two were killed have not been publicly disclosed. When deputies arrived at the scene, they also discovered that Trotsky's vehicle was missing and the car was later located abandoned several miles from the home. And around the time that they discovered the car, law enforcement officers spotted a male suspect running through nearby wooded areas. After a brief foot pursuit, Officers apprehended a 17 year old and obviously he's a minor, so his name has not been released and he's been charged with two counts of murder. In addition to those charges, he faces accusations of tampering with physical evidence, auto theft and fleeing or evading. Police authorities have not provided further information about the suspect's relationship to the victims or a possible motive. The Sheriff's office initially offered limited details stating only that a suspect had been apprehended a short time after deputies arrived at the home and and as the case developed, the state police confirmed the charges and outlined the sequence of events leading up to the rest. Community members have been left shaken by the violent deaths, and social media posts from previous years show Traski pictured with two young boys and a man offering a glimpse into her family life before the tragedy. However, investigators have not commented on who else may have lived in or been connected to the household. Law enforcement officials have emphasized that the investigation remains active. Authorities have not disclosed whether additional suspects are being sought or whether More charges could follow. And for now, the 17 year old remains in custody as prosecutors move forward with the case. The deaths of Traski and her son have stunned the small Kentucky community, where serious violent crime is relatively uncommon. As investigators work to piece together what led to the fatal incident, officials have urged the public to allow the legal process to unfold and further updates are expected as Kentucky State Police continued to gather evidence and determine the full circumstances surrounding the deaths. All right, so now we have a cold case murder that has been solved 44 years later, and it was solved using DNA from a cigarette. And so finally, a man has been convicted in the 1982 rape and murder of a young girl in Cloverdale, California, after investigators were able to use a cigarette to link him to the crime. James Oliver Eunuch is 64 years old, and he was finally convicted of murdering 13 year old Sarah Gere with a special circumstance related to sexual assault. On Friday, he will be sentenced to life without the possibility of parole, according to Sonoma County District Attorney's office. This guilty verdict is a testament to everyone who never gave up searching for Sarah's killer. This is the coldest case ever presented to a Sonoma county jury. While 44 years is too long to wait, justice has finally been served both to Sarah's loved ones as well as her community. And that was said by Sonoma County District Attorney Carla Rodriguez. Sarah left a friend's residence on Sunday, May 23, 1982, to walk downtown. And at some point during her walk, she was accosted by Eunuch. And he was near an alley. And she was forcibly dragged down the alley to a secluded area adjacent to an apartment building and behind a fence where she was raped and strangled to death. And Eunuch used Sarah's shorts to strangle her. Her body was found the next morning by a fireman walking home after his shift. And the homicide was investigated by the Cloverdale Police Department. But the investigation was limited by the forensic science of the day. In 2003, a criminalist with the California Department of Justice was able to develop a DNA profile using sperm collected from Sarah's underwear. But that DNA did not match anyone in law enforcement databases.

In 2021, the Cloverdale Police Department hired a private investigator, Kevin Klein, to help with the investigation and also enlisted the FBI to help identify a matching source of the DNA profile constructed in 2003. The FBI, with its access to familial genealogical databases, concluded that the source of the DNA evidence collected from Sarah belonged to one of four brothers, including James Eunuch. The FBI then conducted surveillance and and was able to collect a discarded cigarette from Munich. And DNA analysis confirmed that the discarded cigarette matched the DNA profile they were searching for and matched DNA collected on numerous articles of clothing that Sarah had been wearing at the time of her death. Unick was arrested in his home in July of 2024. And at the time of his arrest he denied knowing Gere and said he had no recollection of what happened on May 23, 1982. Eunuch testified in his own defense. During the trial and during his testimony, Eunuch explained that the 13 year old Sarah Gere propositioned. Oh, he's a piece of crap. I am sorry. The 13 year old propositioned him for sex while he had been playing a video game at the Cloverdale Arcade. He claimed that they had consensual sex on a hillside near the Russian River. Of course, that implied that Sarah Gere must have been assaulted and murdered later that evening by a phantom man who failed to leave any DNA evidence behind. What a piece. The jury deliberated for two hours before returning a guilty verdict. The jury rejected Eunuch's fictitious account and after more than four decades, finally held him accountable for his crimes. Well, I mean try to def. Take away this girl's. Well, either. No words. She couldn't have consented to sex at 13. Just saying that. Y' all know that. I'm just upset. That was ridiculous to do that. Disgusting. So we're going to do one more and I'm going to go rogue on this one. Possibly. Let's see.

Now Here is another piece. We have a man in Australia who was suspected of fleeing to China after allegedly pouring hot coffee over a baby in a push chair, which I think was what we would call a stroller here in the United States. The nine month old boy named Luca was with his mom and her friend at Hanlon park in Brisbane in August last year when a man approached them. And this man just tipped scalding coffee over Luca, leaving him with severe burns to his chest, neck and face. And because of this, Luca has undergone eight surgeries. Now the suspect is 33 year old Chinese national and he left the scene immediately. Chinese authorities have since arrived in Australia to help find the man and police believe that he boarded a flight to China just hours before he was able to be identified. The Australian Federal Police said the AFP values the ongoing cooperation from Chinese authorities and and their shared commitment to pursue all avenues for justice. In the light of the alleged offender's location. China has extraditional jurisdiction to prosecute its citizens for conduct which occurs outside China. The FP is working jointly with Chinese authorities on appropriate options to take this matter forward. Chinese Ambassador Zhao Qian confirmed his country was helping with the investigation including sending a working group and they have a picture of the man. He said to talk with Australian colleagues to see exactly what happened, how it happened and see how both sides can work together. This is why he sent the group. We are now preparing for the working group to come so we are serious in addressing this concern and we're serious in taking the necessary actions. Chinese media reported the suspect had entered Australia many times on tourist and student visas. But his latest application was rejected leading him to erupt with anger and finally he vented his anger and by doing so he hurt a baby before leaving Australia. Wow, that's disgusting. That poor baby. I hope it heals completely and has, you know, very few scars. That's just horrible. Going to go to Connecticut now and this will probably be the last story of the day but a second suspect has been arrested four and a half years after the murder of a 38 year old Massachusetts man. 34 year old Zachary Joseph Apt was arrested February 13th at his home in Southington. He has been charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder in the third degree, tampering with physical evidence and conspiracy to kidnap among other charges. ABT is the second arrest in this case. Last year police arrested New Britain resident Timothy Lang. Their arrests come after a four and a half year long investigation into the death of 38 year old Jason Combs of Wilbram, Massachusetts. Combs was found dead from a gunshot wound in a vehicle in a remote area of Dunkey road in Summers. ABT is being held on a $2.5 million court set bond and is scheduled to appear in Rocksville Superior Court on Tuesday. Not quite sure what came of that. Let me see if I can find. So here is a development in that case. Jury selection has now been completed and the trial for the first suspect is scheduled to begin in Superior Court. Authorities have indicated that the trial was expected to Proceed as planned even after App's arrest. So I'm sure as this case continues, we will be able to keep you up to date on what happens. And they leave the mom's name and she was murdered in 2001 in Rhode Island. She went missing the end of June, beginning of July in 2001. Her remains were found October 27, 2001. I've lived a hard life. I struggle every single day. If there is anyone who can help me, please. Thank you. We get those all the time. And it's so hard to know.
