Cindy Overton
I'm Cindy Overton.
Woody Overton
Once half gone. Half half gone a year it's more than half gone. I know where does the time go?
Cindy Overton
Days go by so quick. I messaged your mom at 4:30 yesterday. I had every intent of calling her and like actually speaking and it was 4:30 and I said I don't know where today's gone. I'm so sorry. I love you and you know yeah.
Woody Overton

Hammond, Louisiana Walcorn's Bistro was once rated the number one sports bar and grill in the United States of America by espn.
Cindy Overton
But we still rated that.

Woody Overton
You know what? If I was them, I might bring my own anyway.
Crystal Hardison
But anyway, it's going to be a great time.
Woody Overton
The doors open I think at 4:30. For. For.
Cindy Overton
I don't want to confuse people. 4:00', clock, our VIPs are going to have access to start picking their seats at 4:30 general admission doors will open for. So.
Woody Overton
All right. And anyway, it's gonna be a great time. Can't wait to see everybody. But back to the busy week and we got everything going on and then the show will be over at some point and Saturday night. But we're going to be spending Saturday night at the home to Sweets Hilton again. And then the following week is your birthday. I know. Then she's going to be a young spry 16 years old again and beautiful as always and. But we got to get ahead on that week because daddy has a birthday surprise planned for you and that's that. So let's get out some true crime times. When people came to listen, they didn't.
Cindy Overton
Okay. You make me cry. It's a compliment. Thank you. I love you. I know.
Woody Overton
I'll cut that out, but you don't have to.
Cindy Overton
Well, we're going to start off in Peoria, Illinois.
Woody Overton
Peoria, yeah. Driven through there.
Cindy Overton
I've never been there. But in. We're going back to September 6th of 2024 and police responded to a 911 call and it looked at that point like a woman had taken her own life. But when officers arrived, they found 20 year old Mary Elise Halcomb lying in a pool of blood on a stairwell landing with a gunshot wound to her neck. And they, because of where it was, they initially ruled it or suggest thought it was a suicide. But then certain things didn't add up. And investigators noticed a blood trail leading from a bedroom downstairs to where Mary was found. And obviously it indicated that her body had been moved. On the bedroom floor there was a post it note that appeared to what they're describing as frame the tragedy as consensual. And this is what the note said. I, Mary Elise Halcomb, promise to never break Nathaniel Archuleta's heart. And if I do, Nathaniel Archuleta has every right to euthanize me.
Woody Overton
Really?
Cindy Overton
Vice versa. I love you so. But inconsistencies in the story raised flags. Police pressed Mary's boyfriend. Obviously he's 19 years old and Nathaniel Archuleta. And he initially told officers she had taken her own life and later, he claimed he accidentally discharged the gun while cleaning it.
Woody Overton
Yeah.
Cindy Overton
Neither account matched the physical evidence. So as detectives sifted through the evidence, they found what they describe as a chilling confession. And while in custody, Archuleta told another inmate that he had shot Mary after discovering she had been texting somebody else. And then when they factored in the blood patterns and his shifting explanations, prosecutors concluded that it was no accident or suicide. So this July, Archuleta pleaded guilty to first degree murder. And. And the judge sentenced him to. He's 19. He got 45 years in prison to be served in full. No release, no early release, no parole.
Woody Overton
Hold on one second. Does Illinois have the death penalty?
Cindy Overton
Okay, I found this on the web for. Does Illinois have the death penalty? Check it out.
Woody Overton
Yes. So, following the U.S. supreme Court's decision in Greg vs. Georgia, Illinois state legislature voted to reinstate capital punishment in 1974.
Cindy Overton
So he pleaded guilty to obviously avoid that.
Woody Overton
Right, right.
Cindy Overton
And of course, Ashley's family has, you know, a mix of relief, I mean, as whatever, and heartbreak. You know, I mean, like, I just.
Woody Overton
Crazy.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
Leaving notes and trying to. Yeah, you. When you get somebody in and question like that, and you lock them into their first story like, no, wasn't there. It was a suicide or whatever. And then you break them down mentally slowly as a really. A good homicide investigation or interrogation doesn't begin until after five hours. Right. And all you want them to do is to change the story. All right. And. And that's what they did. He got. They. He went from a whatever to, oh, well, I accidentally fire you. I'm pretty sure. You sure you cop said, hey, you got a gun? Yeah. Isn't it possible that you accidentally fired it and then was like, well, now they got me on this. Yeah, that sounds good. I might catch a negligent charge or whatever. So once you get him to change it, then you go prove it through other like that. Yeah, that. Hey, you, you, you, whatever.
Cindy Overton
Then you have someone like Brooks Cleary that all he does is change it.
Woody Overton
And, you know, hashtag, justice for Haley is coming. I still believe that y'. All. I know Ms. Barbara and them are sitting and waiting every day, but you don't want the investigation to be rushed. You'd be thankful that they're working it.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
Right.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
All right, let's go on down to the great state of Florida. And, you know, if. If you had a. If I had a nickname, what would it be? Exactly. Right. We'll leave that one alone.
Cindy Overton
I have a good nickname for you.
Woody Overton
I will Leave that alone. The. Well, this guy, a Florida man, his nickname was Sugar Daddy.
Cindy Overton
That's kind of close to what yours would be.
Woody Overton
All right, so Sugar Daddy, his real name is Ronald James Davis and he's 51 years old. Sugar Daddy is in a world of. Now, he was at the Plantation Motel in Plantation, which is a South Florida city just west of Fort Lauderdale. And shit went bad.
Cindy Overton
So Sugar turned to shit.
Crystal Hardison
Sugar turned to shit.
Woody Overton
So Sugar Daddy ultimately ends up getting arrested. And I'm gonna tell you all the goodness behind this joyful story. So, I mean, he is behind bars because he shot two people in the motel and he killed one. And obviously. And you get shot, it's a serious injury. And he seriously injured the other. You know why Sugar Daddy did this? I don't know if you can guess that. I give you a million dollars.
Cindy Overton
Somebody looked at him wrong, not too far off.
Woody Overton
He did. He did it because he was angry about what.
Cindy Overton
A food he was given.
Woody Overton
No, he's angry that his car got towed. Oh, right. That's a great reason to kill two people.
Cindy Overton
Yeah, I mean, I should have thought of that.
Woody Overton
So they charged Ronald James Davis with first degree murder and attempted murder in the shooting that occurred around 4:30am this on Sunday. And according to the arrest warrant, cops found when they. Of course, they responded to the sheet, right? And then when they did, they found a man laying face down in a pool of blood and a woman inside the room, and she has suffered a gunshot wound. Also, the woman being still alive, told, hey, sugar Daddy is a motherfucker that shot us. And then she lost consciousness because she lost so much blood. And they rushed her ass to the hospital and put her in surgery. So detectives doing what they do, they then interviewed four witnesses who described what happened. They told the cops that Sugar Daddy.
Crystal Hardison
Showed up to the hotel upset because he had just received a traffic ticket.
Woody Overton
And his car was towed. And you can't make this shit up. He approached the female victim and threatened to beat her up if she didn't pay money she owed him. She didn't do it, obviously. And Sugar Daddy leaves, but he returns an hour later and begins to pound on the door to the same motel room.
Crystal Hardison
Sugar Daddy walks into the room.
Woody Overton
Guns a blazing, and start shooting. The male victim, who was standing by the bed was hit, goes down and Sugar Daddy walks around the room shooting. And as he was shooting, he said, all y' all gonna learn today. And he walked up to the woman.
Crystal Hardison
Victim and shot her before again shooting.
Woody Overton
The man who he's already shot right.
Crystal Hardison
So witnesses said they saw Sugar Daddy.
Woody Overton
Leave the room with an angry look on his face before he hopped into the truck and drove away. Cops didn't take him on. They found Sugar Daddy and arrested him. And the detectives tried to ignore to interview him and he was like, just sat there, you know, just ignored him. Except he did say, I'm going to do you a favor. Check the text messages. Exactly. If they y' all see her a face on YouTube, whatever. So he got his ass booked into the Broward County Jail because I don't have to ask Siri. I already know Florida has the death penalty and they use it and. But he has no bond. Thankfully, Sugar Dad Daddy and the victims have not yet been publicly identified.
Cindy Overton
Wow. Because his car was tow.
Woody Overton
Yeah.
Cindy Overton
Wow. Well, when you, you know, every year for birthdays, we, and we haven't, I mean, we're recording this a little bit early. So we are going to tell WL his birthday every year. For the kids birthdays, we'd say their birth story.
Crystal Hardison

I recently took the True Age test from True Diagnostic and discovered my biological age. And let me tell you, it's completely changed the way I look at my health. Biological age is a powerful indicator of how fast you're aging on the inside, and it directly predicts your risk for serious diseases. Here's why that matters. Research shows that if your biological age is even just five years older than your actual age, your risk of developing diseases like cancer or heart disease can jump by as much as 30 to 50%. That's a big deal. And the amazing part is nearly 90% of biological aging is actually in our control. It all comes down to lifestyle, habits and your environment. When I got my results back, I was honestly shocked. My chronological age is 55, but my biological OMICM age came back at 63, meaning I'm biologically about eight years older.
Woody Overton
Than my actual age.
Crystal Hardison
That was definitely not what I expected, and honestly, it was a big wake.
Woody Overton
Up call for me.
Crystal Hardison
The triage test didn't just give me one number. It broke down how quickly each of my organ systems are aging, and it was eye opening. I found out that my liver and musculoskeletal system are actually aging slower, which was encouraging. But my heart, brain, lungs and metabolic systems were all aging faster than they should be. I also learned that my pace of aging is 1.1, meaning for every year that passes, I'm aging 1.1 biological years, and that can increase my risk of chronic disease and even shorten my lifespan if I don't make changes. This test really pushed me to make some adjustments. The personalized strategies they shared from top scientists at Harvard and Yale included focusing more on strength and resistance training to support my heart and metabolic health. The best part? The test itself was super easy and convenient. I did it right at home. No doctor visits or big needles. Just a quick painless finger prick and I mailed it back in a prepaid package and got a detailed online report in about two to three weeks. Fast and totally hassle free. Cindy Overton
Right. What happened and all that. And when you talked about the woman who passed out losing conscious consciousness because of loss of blood, it just reminded me of what we went through with debriel's birth. I have felt that that is the worst feeling just to like literally go unconscious because you were losing blood and you're dying. You know, you're looking at me like I'm crazy again.
Woody Overton
It sucks.
Cindy Overton
It was horrible. It was horrible. But we have a beautiful, beautiful sun. You want to go to England?
Woody Overton
Yes.
Crystal Hardison
It's time for worldwide crime.
Woody Overton
Take us to the land of fish and chips. Fish.
Cindy Overton
So in April, Tommy Cox and all.
Woody Overton
Our other good lifers.
Cindy Overton
Yes, for sure. We have a 54 year old mother of two from daughter Devon in southwest England. And this incident happened in April of 2024. And Samantha hoped to do something kind for her former fiance, though their relationship had ended in February.
Woody Overton
Whose relationship?
Cindy Overton
Samantha and her former fiance who has not been named.
Woody Overton
Okay.
Cindy Overton
She felt that the former fiance was clingy, insecure and controlling, but she still loved him and she had compassion for him. And so she wanted to arrange a special celebration for his 60th birthday. She's 54. Unbeknownst to her, the decision would lead to something really bad. So in the evening of April 13th of 2024, Samantha and the 61 year old ex fiance James Cartwright checked, checked into the luxurious Penny Hill Park Hotel in Mag shot Surrey and she reserved a room for him and secured a table at the Latimer, which is the hotel's Michelin star restaurant. And she did that so he wouldn't, she went with him so he wouldn't spend the evening alone, like she was trying to give him this good experience. But of course she joins, she doesn't want him to be alone. What began as a celebratory dinner quickly grew worrisome. Samantha became progressively drowsy during the six course meal. So much that the waitstaff observed her with closed eyes and she appeared to fall asleep mid meal. After finishing the dinner around 10:30, the two returned to their room and that's when they Lost. Like the cctv. There was no more videos, obviously. Once they entered their room the following morning around 8:30, Cartwright, the ex fiance, called 911 or emergency services, whatever it's called over there, claiming that he had woken up to find Samantha unresponsive.
Woody Overton
Nice.
Cindy Overton
But forensic evidence shows something completely different. It shows a severe head injury and fractures to the neck consistent with strangulation. Manual strangulation. Prosecutors say that Cartwright used his bare hands to kill Samantha in the early hours of the morning, noting that obviously no one else was there and she couldn't have self inflicted this.
Woody Overton
She didn't break her own neck.
Cindy Overton
Right. And they say the final argument between them came after Samantha planned to tell him that they were never going to see each other again.
Woody Overton
Usually does.
Cindy Overton
Well, why would she plan this whole thing to say they were already exes? Like why are you going to do that? Whatever. I mean, I'm not victim blaming it. I don't mean it in that way. But their relationship had begun as a whirlwind romance in mid-2022. But by late 2023, Cartwright had moved in and they were engaged. Samantha later ended things and asked him to leave her home while still arranging to spend his birthday with him out of sympathy. And after the breakup, prosec Lewis Oakley noted Cartwright began bombarding Samantha with unwanted messages and turning up uninvited. And then at trial, Cartwright denied all charges. And all the charges were murder, rape, coercive and controlling behavior spanning from May of 2022 until Samantha's death. And Samantha had children, but they just described their mother as their sole parent and express profound grief for her absence.
Woody Overton
That horrible is horrible. The world is full of shitheads. Right. And takes all kinds to make the world go around. Right?
Cindy Overton
Yep.
Woody Overton
Well, I didn't intend to do this, but here is another.
Crystal Hardison
It's time for Worldwide Crime.
Woody Overton
We're going to place. I'm gonna see if you can guess where this place is.
Cindy Overton
Over in Worldwide Crime though.
Woody Overton
Yeah. No, no, no. I wanna. I'm gonna tell you the name of the place I want to see. I want you to tell me what country it's in.
Cindy Overton
Oh, okay.
Woody Overton
All right. So the name of the place is Northumber. N O R T H U M B R I All one word.
Cindy Overton
That is in Germany.
Woody Overton
One would think.
Cindy Overton
Are you serious or are you being sarcastic?
Woody Overton
I'm both there because there's other places that are listed in this article. I'm gonna read you that. I actually thought that must have been Germany. Say Mattel myself. I had to actually look it up to see where it was. Okay, so I'll read you the story and then we'll reconvene. Yes, we'll reconvene and. But that would have been a good guess. So check this shit out. All right? Unfortunately, now, my sweet mama, she's. I'm gonna tell her she's in her 80s, right? And she. Y', all, you're coming to the live. You're gonna get to meet her. She's gonna be there. So two women, one of us in their 90s and one in their 80s, are dead.
Cindy Overton
I don't want to know why. How.
Woody Overton
This is just up. This is. This is a crazy story. They were in a nursing home, right, Just doing what they do, right? Nursing homes, whatever that may be. And they had a car, a BMW, drive through the wall and kill them. Look at that. Pictures a hole in the wall.
Cindy Overton
Oh my gosh, I wish y' all.
Woody Overton
Could see her face when I show her this.
Cindy Overton
I mean, that's a lot of damage.
Woody Overton
From her being that it's a brick wall and obviously it was inside. So let me tell you how it got there. A blue BMW, which they think was stolen, plowed into the High Cliff care home and with the whack sunderland at around 9.40pm on Wednesday. Hopefully they were asleep. Yeah, I've been out of that age. Eight people were taken to the hospital, not just these two that were dead. And two men were arrested and they were both 21 years old.
Crystal Hardison
You put both of their ages together.
Woody Overton
And it doesn't equal half of the age. Were one of the victims, the youngest victim, them.
Crystal Hardison
So police say that the two care.
Woody Overton
Home residents, a woman in her 90s and a woman in her 80s, died on Thursday. Chief Superintendent Mark hall of the Northumber police said this is an extremely sad development and all our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of everyone affected. We will continue to support them in any way that we can at this time and our investigations remain at an early stage. And we would ask people to avoid speculation both online and in the community. Well, let me tell you what happened. Northumber police received a call around 9:20pm on Wednesday about a report of a car being stolen on Agriton Gardens in Fin Ham, Newcastle. So. Holy. Look at the close up pictures of that. Isn't it crazy?
Cindy Overton
Yes.
Woody Overton
And this is the car, but I mean they obviously they had to extract it from the building. So the BMW later on was seen Traveling on the A1231 eastbound in Sutherland. And cops doing what they do, they Pursued it. Okay, right, it's stolen. That's what you do. So they haul an ass.
Crystal Hardison
So.
Woody Overton
After a short pursuit, the car collided with the High Cliff Care Home, which provides dementia care to around 60 residents, causing structural damage. Y', all, we just lost my father a couple months ago to dementia. Anyway, the next of kin for both women have been notified and are being supported by specific specially trained officers. The investigation will now consider whether the collision contributed to their deaths. Okay, not a public service announcement, but a detective giving an old career law enforcement guy giving north and Bear Police Department a tip. Yeah, if you have a blue BMW that was reported stolen around that your cops get behind it and they've run it and they see this is in fact the stolen blue BMW that got stolen, they initiate a pursuit and they.
Crystal Hardison
Drive at a high rate of speed.
Woody Overton
And y', all, they didn't say what the speed was, but if you can see the hole inside this nursing home, it had to be. It was a brick wall and the car couldn't even be seen.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Crystal Hardison
And the, the, your officer see the car they're pursuing, which is stolen, drive through a brick wall, disappear into this.
Woody Overton
Building and you go in and the.
Crystal Hardison
People are dead and people are injured.
Woody Overton
And pretty sure it's going to be a criminal complaint. Right. So anyway, the two suspects were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, while one was also arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. Where is the murder charge, you might ask? It's not there and. But they do remain in police custody. Now, a mandatory referral has been made by the Northumber Police Department to the independent Office for the Police Conduct Northeast Ambulance services, or the NEAs as the locals like to call it there sent three emergency ambulance crews and several specialist teams to the scene of the nursing home. And it said we assisted with the evacuation of residents at the property and eight patients were conveyed to the hospital. In English, all that means they were transported. Tyne and Weir Fire and Rescue Service also sent crews to help with the scenes. Avery Healthcare, which runs home, said the safety and well being of our residents and staff is our absolute priority and we continue to work closely with the relevant authorities. Residents have been moved to alternative accommodation where their care continues without interruption. And we would like to express our sincere thanks to the carers and colleagues across our neighboring homes who have stepped into support at this time. Their professionalism, dedication and compassion ensuring a smooth transition and continuity of care has been truly commendable. And anyway that they're asking, anyone with information or footage can send the northumberro police A direct message on social media, blah, blah, blah. Now me life as we have in northumberia. But if you. You there and you have some video of this, of course they're going to upgrade the charges and the dementia man, I, you know, I don't talk about it much. My dad paranoid dementia and is absolutely to me it's the worst thing you can ever experience. And we were fortunate enough to get to keep him home and he got to die in his bed, which he asked me to do. And to watch such a strong, vigorous man be destroyed and then have such fear and stuff from the paranoia I would love actually we're going when I can get my head around it. We don't want to start doing that something raising money for dementia research because there's, you know to watch them and it comes on in, in the four stages or whatever. But you know, this came on for a couple of years and to watch it go and then just boom, boom, boom and then you know, just, just fucking bad. So. And I never knew how many people and we in the end, like the last year he had to have 24 hour care at home and then the last couple of months it was a hospice and double 24 hour care and just, just, just a horrible thing. And the. I never knew so many people, so many people especially that I knew that their, their people are suffering from it. Thank God. Most paranoid dementia is a very rare form. Leave it to my dad to do it in a Lee Overton style, right. Like me catching brucellosis. If you're going to do it, do it out the box, right. Go in full tilt. But dementia sucks. And if y' all have any ideas of any life or snow anything about dementia organizations that, that you are involved in that are good or whatever, of course we can look it up and research them. We will. But before we start backing up, if y' all had any. Right. If you have any suggestions or experience whatever, let us know.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
By email.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
All right. I'm gonna get off that horse.
Cindy Overton
Well, we need to go back to. We need to reconvene. Is that in England?
Woody Overton
Oh yeah, yeah. Actually it's in the northern England. Right. The what I looked on Wikipedia was it's northern England in between England and Scotland.
Cindy Overton
Okay.
Woody Overton
I really wish I could do an English accent.
Cindy Overton
I really wish you could too.
Woody Overton
I'm a practice on tractor scene.
Cindy Overton
We need to get you on the.
Woody Overton
Phone with Tommy and yes, telling him to do it. But you know who else does it? Dalton Lee. Oh, well, yes, my great neck.
Cindy Overton
He's seven.
Crystal Hardison
He's seven years old.
Cindy Overton
He's just gonna be like Uncle Woody, blah, blah, blah.
Woody Overton
And. And Tommy. Most people might not notice it, but like in English or Australians, whatever. I watch a lot of the treasure shows or Opal Outback. Opal Outback Hunters. Oh, yeah. Alone. I was. I thought you were saying I watched alone, which I do. But they. I've always watched the first season or one of the seasons of alone. And it was all the people from England. Yeah, y'. All Alone. If you're not familiar with this something I really want to go on. That's where you drop you off in the wilderness with 10 items and you got outlast 10 other people.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
And it's in. In America, you get a million dollars.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
These from England, they only got 100,000.
Crystal Hardison
And that none of them had skills.
Woody Overton
To pay the bills in the woods. Like, you know, I'm talking about the, the, the, you know, the ones they do on the. On the American show, which I actually applied for one time. Yeah. They. They didn't want any of me.
Cindy Overton
No. Cuz you would probably outlast everybody.
Crystal Hardison
They were like, oh, you would carry.
Woody Overton
My ass out of the body bag. I was. Or in first place, you probably wouldn't.
Cindy Overton
Have been much to show because you would have just been like, living it. Like, you know what I mean?
Woody Overton
Like, fine.
Cindy Overton
You wouldn't be crying.
Woody Overton
No, I mean crying because they're viral. I mean, I miss my family and I'm by myself. I'm like, you on a vacation.
Cindy Overton
Yeah, exactly. That's probably.
Crystal Hardison
They were like, I gotta.
Woody Overton
I gotta eat meat that I had to kill myself. I gotta go fishing on. Well, that's. Throw me in the Burbank. Yeah. Briar patch, bear rabbit crazy.
Cindy Overton
I think that's what they were thinking.
Woody Overton
Y', all, if you know a producer on loan. Get Woody Overton. I'll be the oldest contestant. I still want that motherfucker.
Cindy Overton
Oh, I know you will.
Woody Overton
The. Give me 10 items. My son and I, and now our son, who's now 15. The would sit around and discuss what items we'd bring. Yes, the 10 items.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
So very interesting. We'll save it for another day, but tell us another story.
Cindy Overton
Yeah, well, there was something else. I was. Oh, the. Back to your story. Because it was a pursuit and they're investigating whether the car caused it. Are the. Are the police going to get any repercussions from this? They shouldn't have been pursuing. And if they weren't pursuing, then that would know.
Woody Overton
I don't know that's, that's who knows what to do in England. I mean even here since I started, we, we pursued the out of them and, and he didn't. And then people started getting killed in high speed pursuits and stuff. And you, once you initiated pursuit, you had to call in, get a supervisor on and say what the weather conditions were, how fast you were going, of course you were calling in wherever you were going and what direction, everything else. And then they would make the determination to call it off. Now if it's just a stolen car and you're in heavy traffic, it's rush hour, whatever, they might call it off and say it. Right. But if it's a suspect or you got a baby in a car that's being raped or something like that, you're not going to call. So I, I don't know. Yeah, I don't know what their, their deal is.
Cindy Overton
All right, I got.
Crystal Hardison
It'S time for family matters.
Cindy Overton
We're going to Bakersville, California. Bakersfield, June 29, 2025. There was a 20 year old named Mary Hernandez and she was driving her two sons, one year old Emilio Gutierrez and his two year old brother. And they don't have the name of the two year old brother. And she was going to the always beautiful med spa.
Woody Overton
Okay.
Cindy Overton
For cosmetic treatment.
Woody Overton
Well, I hope she wasn't going there to get a hamburger.
Cindy Overton
Well, I'm just stressing the fact that she was going to to get a cosmetic treatment. And though Emilio and his sibling remained strapped in the car seats of the 2022 Toyota Corolla Hybrid, Hernandez left them inside the vehicle and entered the spa.
Woody Overton
Uh oh, here we go. So this would be the third one of these we've done in probably as many shows.
Cindy Overton
She even texted the med spa before she got there and asked if her children could wait indoors and was told that it was acceptable for her to do that. But once there she decided against it and returned them to her car instead. Okay, so as surveillance later showed, the procedure took 15 to 20 minutes, but the boys remained alone inside for nearly two hours under scorching conditions.
Woody Overton
Procedure took 15 minutes but she's inside for two hours. Maybe she had to wait.
Cindy Overton
At around 60 to 90 minutes, the Corolla's automatic shutoff feature switched off the engine extinguishing, of course the air conditioner and which began that temperature became lethal real quick. Outside temperatures hovered around 100 degrees that day.
Woody Overton
There's at least 130 in a car.
Cindy Overton
143 really. So when Hernandez exited the spa, she Discovered Emilio unresponsive, baked, foaming at the mouth and having seizures.
Woody Overton
Yep.
Cindy Overton
She dialed 911 and first responders arrived within minutes. Amelia was transported to the hospital with a recorded internal temperature of 107 degrees. He passed away approximately an hour later. His older brother was also affected, but was stabilized and his body temperature was around 99 degrees. And he has at this time suffered no long term effects.
Woody Overton
Maybe the older one stripped his shirt off or something. I don't know.
Cindy Overton
I don't know. But on arrival, Bakersfield police criticized, of course, Hernandez replacing the value of her appearance over the safety and well being of her children. And court documents revealed that she acknowledged knowing the danger, yet proceeded anyway. She was arrested and faces charges of involuntary manslaughter. I think it's pretty voluntary when you choose to do that. I'm sorry, that's about as voluntary as you can get. And two counts of child cruelty. And she's being held on over $1 million bond and pleaded not guilty. Her next court appearance is scheduled for July 11th.
Woody Overton
Yeah, I hate that the. Because thinking about we were chasing a guy. He had been on America's Most Wanted. Everything else. And like he broke into Madonna's house and stole her say whatever. Long story short, that that K9 officer, the K9 got high. They swapped out canines and put them in. In the unit and with the unit running and they have an alarm and the unit shut off an alarm, didn't trigger to his belt. And we found him roasted basically in the back of the car and just absolutely horrible.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
And I hope that other kid isn't too old because he's gonna be traumatized for life.
Cindy Overton
Absolutely.
Woody Overton
About it. Watching his sibling die.
Cindy Overton
Seizures and foaming at the.
Woody Overton
Oh, come on, man. Don't put your of kids in the car.
Cindy Overton
How do you not plead guilty? How. As a mother, you could just shoot me. I would. You. You would find me.
Woody Overton
That is strictly a ploy by whoever public defender is. Said plead not guilty and otherwise they're going to send it to you right away. We don't have time to bargain and all that.
Cindy Overton
I understand I said earlier or in another episode that hanging would be the worst cause of death. I would literally in that cell find a way to. I couldn't. How do you live with yourself? How do you.
Woody Overton
I'm sure it's not easy. And what if she just went in like to get her mustache waxed off or something?
Cindy Overton
A 15 to 20 minute procedure and they gave her the opportunity to bring her child in.
Woody Overton
But she did bring him in. She brought him in. And it was like, I don't want them bouncing around. If I can wait in the room, say, I'll just go lock them up in the car. Well, she certainly going to catch hard time because like in men's prison, if you're a rapist or especially a pedophile, women's prison, your kids, you kill your own kids, you got issues. They are going, she's going to do hard time. I'm pretty sure she feels like you. Unless she's just the devil, she's sorry AF that that happened.
Cindy Overton
Well, I mean, it's tragic. My public defender said you need to plead not guilty. I would say no charge. Like, I, I don't, I don't know.
Woody Overton
I fully understand what you would do. I get it. And I'm just saying, unless she's the devil, she didn't know it had a 60 minute shut off thing, you know, and unless she's the devil, I'm sure she has remorse, so. But who knows?
Crystal Hardison
Speculation.
Woody Overton
That's all I got on that case. And it's horrible, horrible, horrible. Y' all just come on, man. Check your cars and don't leave your kids in the car. You know, my truck's got a thing light. A warning thing comes on, says, check your back seat.
Cindy Overton
Mine too.
Woody Overton
And I, you know, they had to put that in there because of people like this. Check your back seat. Basically saying, hey, motherfucker, either your buddies passed out in the backseat or your kids back there or whatever, don't be an asshole and leave them in here so they can race. I wonder if it says that when it's. I'm pretty sure it does when it's cold outside, too. It's not like it magically knows, hey, it's hot outside.
Cindy Overton
It does magically know because it has all the sensors on it. But it does do it when they. It feels weight also.
Woody Overton
Yeah, I know, I know. Obviously it only does it when it's weight. I'm saying, wouldn't it be kind of cool if it only did it after a certain temperature, whatever. But that's too much.
Cindy Overton
The car should say, don't let your kid or dog roast mfer.
Woody Overton
You know what they should do?
Crystal Hardison
Stupid.
Woody Overton
This is it. We're going to invent this and go, we're going on shark tank. You ready?
Cindy Overton
Yes.
Woody Overton
We're going to invent a device that if you. I mean, they got all this other, why can't this be invented? If you leave your kid in the backseat of the car and you get out of the car and you get more than 100 yards away, or you're going more than, you know, three minutes. Well, whatever will set up the parameters that you automatically get. Like taser by your keys. Or maybe I take a step further. Like, the key fob has this. This would cut it all out right here. If your key fob had C4 plastic explosive inside of it and is somehow could be programmed without fail through AI or whatever that if you leave your kid in the car for whatever the powers of be can determine, it's a safe time. If you leave past that, it just blows your whole fucking leg off. It blows up.
Cindy Overton
That's great.
Woody Overton
Blows your leg off that bit.
Crystal Hardison
Hey, I guarantee you no motherfucker will.
Woody Overton
Leave a kid in their car anymore.
Crystal Hardison
If I leave a kid in the.
Woody Overton
Car, I'm going to blow my balls off.
Cindy Overton
You know what? I just remembered my car also does. When I had the puppies, I had them all in the crate in the back of the car. And I went into a store. It was when I was dropping off a puppy, but it had them all with me. And I went in.
Woody Overton
You left the kids in the car?
Cindy Overton
I left the kids in the car and I left the puppies in the car with it on. And we were in Clinton. Yeah, I know, but. But you know what my car did? The alarm would not stop going off. I mean, I was only out of the car not even five minutes.
Woody Overton
That's.
Cindy Overton
And the alarm was like. Like it was not gonna stop.
Woody Overton
That is pretty cool. And I forgot. I guess it's a better alternative than blowing somebody's balls off with their key fob.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Crystal Hardison
So that's it.
Woody Overton
I got nothing else for y'. All. See y' all this week. Love and appreciate each and every one of you. And I'm Woody Overton.

Real Life Real Crime Episode Summary
Episode: True Crime Time For July 15, 2025 | Sugar Daddy Murder, Birthday Betrayal & Nursing Home Tragedy
Host: Woody Overton and Cindy Overton
Release Date: July 15, 2025
In this gripping episode of True Crime Time For, hosts Woody and Cindy Overton delve into a series of disturbing cases that span across the United States and the United Kingdom. From a perplexing murder in Illinois to a shocking nursing home tragedy in England, and a heartbreaking incident in California, the Overtons provide deep insights and heartfelt commentary on each case, offering listeners a comprehensive exploration of true crime's darkest corners.
Overview: The episode opens with the tragic story of Mary Elise Halcomb, a 20-year-old woman whose death initially appeared to be a suicide but soon unraveled into a complex murder investigation.
Details: On September 6, 2024, police in Peoria responded to a 911 call reporting that Mary had taken her own life. Upon arrival, officers found Mary lying in a pool of blood on a stairwell landing, suffering a gunshot wound to her neck. Investigators noticed inconsistencies: a blood trail led from a downstairs bedroom to where Mary was found, indicating her body had been moved. Additionally, a cryptic post-it note was discovered on the bedroom floor, which read:
"I, Mary Elise Halcomb, promise to never break Nathaniel Archuleta's heart. And if I do, Nathaniel Archuleta has every right to euthanize me. Vice versa."
[05:57] Cindy Overton
Investigation: The attention turned to Mary's 19-year-old boyfriend, Nathaniel Archuleta. Initially claiming it was a suicide, Archuleta later stated he had accidentally discharged the gun while cleaning it—stories that did not align with the physical evidence. During custody, Archuleta confessed to an inmate that he had shot Mary upon discovering her infidelity. Prosecutors, noting the blood patterns and his inconsistent statements, concluded it was murder.
Outcome: In July, Archuleta pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and was sentenced to 45 years in prison without the possibility of parole.
Notable Quotes:
Hosts' Commentary: Woody elaborates on the complexities of homicide investigations, emphasizing the importance of patience and thoroughness:
Woody Overton: “A good homicide investigation or interrogation doesn't begin until after five hours. All you want them to do is to change the story.” [07:56]
Overview: The Overtons shift focus to Florida, detailing the heinous actions of Ronald James Davis, infamously known as "Sugar Daddy," whose violent outburst at the Plantation Motel left victims dead and wounded.
Details: On an early Sunday morning around 4:30 AM, Ronald James Davis, aged 51, arrived at the Plantation Motel in Plantation, Florida. Upset over his car being towed, Davis confronted a female guest, demanding money he claimed she owed him. When rebuffed, he returned an hour later, this time gunned downly into the motel room. He shot two individuals: killing one and severely injuring another. Witnesses reported hearing Davis declare, “All y’all gonna learn today.” before fleeing the scene.
Arrest and Charges: Davis was swiftly apprehended and charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder. Due to Florida’s reinstated death penalty following the Supreme Court’s decision in Greg vs. Georgia, Davis faced severe sentencing. However, to avoid capital punishment, he pleaded guilty and received a 45-year sentence without the possibility of parole.
Notable Quotes:
Hosts' Commentary: Woody reflects on the challenges law enforcement faces during interrogations and the manipulation often employed by suspects:
Woody Overton: “Once you initiate pursuit, you had to call in, get a supervisor on and say what the weather conditions were...” discussing police procedures. [41:01]
Overview: The episode takes a somber turn with the recounting of a devastating incident in Northumberland, England, where a stolen BMW led to a tragic collision at a nursing home, resulting in the deaths of two elderly residents.
Details: In April 2024, a stolen blue BMW was reported in Fin Ham, Newcastle. Police initiated a pursuit that ended disastrously when the vehicle crashed into the High Cliff Care Home around 9:40 PM, plowing through a brick wall and killing two elderly women in their 80s and 90s. Eight other individuals were injured and transported to hospitals. Two 21-year-old men were arrested on charges of vehicle theft and dangerous driving, though no murder charges have been filed to date.
Notable Quotes:
Hosts' Commentary: The Overtons express deep empathy for the victims and their families, discussing the broader implications of such tragedies on communities and the importance of safety in care facilities.
Cindy Overton: “I never knew how many people... are suffering from it.” emphasizing the widespread impact of dementia. [38:09]
Overview: The final case discussed is the harrowing story of Mary Hernandez, a 20-year-old mother whose decision to prioritize her cosmetic treatment over her children's safety led to a fatal tragedy.
Details: On June 29, 2025, Mary Hernandez drove her two young sons, Emilio (1) and his two-year-old brother, to a med spa in Bakersfield, California. Hernandez left her children strapped in the backseat of her 2022 Toyota Corolla Hybrid while she entered the spa for a cosmetic procedure, deviating from prior arrangements that allowed her children to stay inside the vehicle. Surveillance footage revealed that although the procedure lasted only 15-20 minutes, Hernandez remained inside for nearly two hours. With the car's automatic shutoff feature deactivating the engine approximately 60-90 minutes in, the air conditioner ceased, and temperatures soared to lethal levels. When Hernandez returned, she found Emilio unresponsive, suffering from seizures and with an internal temperature of 107°F, leading to his death. Her older son survived with no long-term effects but was traumatized by the incident.
Legal Proceedings: Hernandez was arrested on charges of involuntary manslaughter and two counts of child cruelty. She faces a bond exceeding $1 million and has pleaded not guilty, with her next court appearance scheduled for July 11.
