Hello everybody. Welcome to this episode of True Crime time for Thursday, July 16, 2026 and I'm Woody Overton. Rolling in the dog. Is it the dog days of summer? I don't know when that starts. Let me see, when do the dog days of summer start? Dog Days of summer run from July 3rd to August 11th each year. So there you go. Dog days of summer. Rolling in the dog days of summer, whatever the hell that means. But it's hot in summertime and hope you are enjoying and all that great shit, right? Kids are out of school. Maybe you getting some beach time or mountain time or whatever. But I'm gonna tell you about some true crime time. And on this day in 1981 when I was 11 years old, not even shaving yet probably, although I was pretty big kid for 21 year old mother Selena Keough was raped and murdered before being dumped in Montclair, California. Investigators were able to catch the murder, a shithead named Horace Van Balch Jr. And they called him using DNA evidence and genetic genealogy. I love that. I wish they had had it when I was in. This case was the very first case in Los Angeles county to be prosecuted using this type of DNA. Tell you about this case out of Texas. It's gonna be interesting to see where it goes in. The family of an 18 year old Texas honor student whose body was recovered from a Dallas area lake is demanding murder charges after police accused two teenagers of concealing evidence instead of reporting the his drowning. So Daniel Irvin, who's 18, was last seen around 4:45pm on April 13 after he left his rally at home. Now his family reported missing after he left with only his cell phone, leaving behind his driver's license, money and other personal belongings. Three days later, authorities recovered Irvin's body near the paddle point area of Lake Ray Hubbard. The Dallas medical examiner later ruled his death an accidental drowning and this according to the Dallas pd. But Dallas police told Fox News Digital detectives that conducted a thorough investigation including witness interviews, evidence collection in coordination with the Dallas County Medical Examiner's office. They said the medical examiner determined Daniel Irvin's cause of death was drowning and the manner of death was ruled accidental. Well, investigators later determined that two individuals who were present at the lake failed to report the incident and later discarded items that belonged to Daniels. It said. As a result, investigators obtain arrest warrants for Lucas Roper, who's 19 and a juvenile suspect. They are each charged with tampering with physical evidence, which is a third degree felony. Both suspects have been arrested and the cases will proceed through the criminal justice system. And the police are declining to provide additional details, saying it's an active criminal investigation and pending prosecution. According to the rest affidavit attained by Fox for Dallas, Irvin had gone to Lake Ray Hubbard with Roper and a juvenile on April 13, where the three allegedly jumped into the water from a railroad bridge near Miller Road. The affidavit says that Irving drowned after entering the water, but Instead of calling 91 1-Roper and the juvenile discarded Irvin's clothing, deleted messages from his cell phone, threw the phone from moving vehicle and left the scene. During the Monday's news conference, Irvin's family said they believe there are still unanswered questions surrounding the teen's death and argued the case warrants a closer look. They're calling for transparency and urging prosecutors to consider additional criminal charges. In the news release, the Ngan said the family is seeking transparency, accountability and a complete investigation following their recent arrest and called on the Dallas County DA's office to pursue any additional charges that are supported by evidence. And the family attorney Sean Der Dia said the Irvin family has retained an independent investigative team to examine the circumstances surrounding Daniel's death. Why aren't they lucky that they have the means to do that? How many people I get contacted by every day that don't have that, that those means. But the lawyer questioned whether the available evidence is consistent with accidental drowning. He said if it's an accident, why hide the clothes? Why flee the scene? Why toss Daniel over and cell phone out the car? Well all very good valid questions, right? And he urged the DA's office to present the case to a grand jury and pursue homicide charges if the evidence supports him. He also encouraged anyone with information about what happened to come forward. Irvin's mom Tamika question why anyone would dispose of her son's belonging if his death had truly been an accident. Reminds me so much of Haley's case said a reasonable minded person would know if you are not guilty of a crime why would you throw away his clothes and delete messages and not even call his mother. I want justice for my son. Well and they his sister said that Irving was law abiding young man with dreams of serving in the military. He wants service country and when it's life or death situation you are to render aid, you're to help someone. Someone needs to be held accountable. Well y' all I understand the I mean I just it certainly any reasonable person would question why you deleted text messages and Hid the clothes. And why didn't you just call 91 1? Why didn't you just say, you know, he jumped off the bridge and he drowned, come help. Right. I think maybe there's more to that. We're going to find out and I'll keep you updated on the case. Interesting to say the least. And I hate to say it's interesting, but it is. All right, let's roll down to the Florida Panhandle. So everybody from Louisiana goes on vacation. Panama City beach and Fort Walden beach and all that. And they found a guy in a shallow graveyard. I mean, that screams homicide, right? Well, mate, they definitely have a suspect. And what's going on with that? So cops in Florida say a 38 year old woman killed a man and buried him in a shallow grave. And now she is on the run while using several fake names. And her name is Isabella Johnson and she's facing the murder charge and the death of 43 year old Jason Christopher Coltheart in the Florida Panhandle. In this cord in the Walton County Sheriff's Office. Cohort was reported missing after he was last seen on May 24 when he left the college condominiums on East College Boulevard in Niceville. That's where my good buddy Charles Andrews lives I grew up with. But they said cops developed information that Cohort's body was buried on a property off Sunset Lane and Freeport. Now, you see, somebody called that in and they remain anonymous and they got to bring this guy's body home. Y' all calling your tips 313-RLRC-TIP on all the cases where these bodies are missing. So the authorities went there and they recovered the body on June 25th. And they positively identify the remains as blowing the cold heart on Thursday. Why it takes so long? Unfortunately, they had to use DNA because he was so degraded. I said this is not the news we had hoped to deliver to our Nicevale community. According to the Niceville Chief of Police, Mark Hayes, we stand with Jason's family and will continue working closely with our partners to see this case through. Well, the cops named Johnson as a suspect and retained a warrant for her arrest after the victim's remains were recovered. They believe she is actively evading law enforcement. She is also allegedly using several aliases, including Harley Jessica, Elaine Bowman, Jessica Elaine Thrush, and Jessica Dowdy and even others. The sheriff's office didn't say what the relationship between Johnson and Culver was and or give a motive for the killing. Cohort's cause of death has also not been released. Well, I can Assure you it's homicide or they wouldn't have a murder warrant. Right. But deputies released a video of Johnson at a business in Destin. Now, the place I've spent a lot of time at, days after Cohort's remains were discovered. So check this out. Five people have been arrested for allegedly helping Johnson as she hides out from the cops. If you're hiding somebody that's wanted for murder, you. You should go to jail. I mean, really. So Michael Ray White, who's 74, and Kathleen Morris, who's 59, of Santa Rosa beach were arrested for accessory to a capital felony after the fact and obstruction. Cops say that White lied to them when he claimed he did not know where Johnson when in fact he helped her elude deputies and allowed her to stay at his house. Go to jail, sir. Morris allegedly gave Johnson supplies and drove her around. Martin Lieverton and Sandra Leverton retrieved Johnson's belongings and gave her a cell phone to use this, according to deputies. They said anyone found to have help or still assisting Isabel Johnson avoid arrest will be charged accordingly. That's the sheriff. Michael Atkinson said if you give her a place to stay, help her hide or lie for her, you will face consequences. This is a homicide case. We will not allow anyone to get in the way of this investigation. Right. They shouldn't. Johnson is considered dangerous, and anyone with knowledge for or whereabouts should call the Walden County Sheriff's office at 850-892-8111. And, you know, I hope they get her justice real soon. The why did you know? I don't give a shit if it's your granddaughter, your kid, you know, they're wanted for murder and you're going to go to jail and say, oh, no, I don't know. And they've been staying at your house. Yeah. And that's what people always like, oh, they're in there in Belize or they're in Mexico. No, they don't have the money to get there. So Minnesota man who told police they should just come see the scene where he stabbed his pregnant girlfriend to death. He's pled guilty thankfully. Salavine Mohammed Abradaska, 27, entered a guilty plea on Friday for two counts of second degree murder in connection with the deaths of his girlfriend, 24 year old false Ali and her unborn child. In a press release from the Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison y' all can't say this girl's name. A B D I R I S A A Q Alberta Sock admitted to stabbing ali, who was 17 weeks pregnant. He stabbed her several times after the couple got into an argument on September 23rd of 2025. Ellison said Abrasquite used the knife he found in the dishwasher. Right. And after he did it he called 911 and told dispatchers someone died and I want to turn myself in. And then he asked for the police to come just so and he said quotations. Just, just come see right? I mean I stabbed my girlfriend and my unborn baby to death. Come see. The Aberdeenski told dispatchers that Ali died 20 minutes before he placed his call and when police got there they found this is St. Cloudwood, Minnesota they found Ally on the floor of her living room surrounded by coagulating blood. Wounds were observed on her neck, shoulders, arms, chest, left breast and her jaw. A 5 inch serrated kitchen knife covered in blood was found on the floor near her body. Of course, she was taken to a hospital, but we all know what happens in cases like this, by the way. She was stabbed 34 times, y'. All. She and her unborn baby were pronounced dead. Now, the couple also had a three year old who was home at the time of the murder. And he was overheard talking about Aberdeski punching Ali while motioning with a bald fist toward the neck. It's three year old, y'. All. The child, who was unharmed, was placed in the care of family members. Now, Abradaski's brother told police that called him to say he killed his wife with a knife, referring, referring to Ali. The brother also said that the couple had a documented history of domestic violence. In February, Abiduski was convicted of violating domestic abuse no contact order in Sherburne County. He was also arrested for making threats of violence against Ali in Hennepin county back in September of 2024. And he had been released from custody on. On the condition that he not contact Ali. I'm pretty sure when you stab your significant other and you're under restraining order and you stab her 34 times in front of your 3 year old and you kill your unborn baby, holy smokes. That screams the death penalty. Louisiana definitely would have got it. Well, there you have it. Now, this one is bizarre. I mean, it really, really is. You could call it bad luck. You can call it anything you want to, but it's a crime. Because if this, these two people hadn't been arguing, what happened to the victim wouldn't have happened if they hadn't been in a domestic situation. And check this out. This is, and this is on video. They said disturbing video capture the moment a young woman was seized by a tiger before her mother was fatally attacked while attempting to rescue her. They said what started as a domestic dispute at the Balding Wildlife park in Beijing, China, in 2016 turned deadly after the woman, who's identified as Ms. Zao, exited her vehicle to confront her partner in the driver's seat. But she did it while they were inside a Siberian tiger enclosure, they said. Alternate accounts, however, suggest the family simply believe they hit up a heart of the area where the tigers were housed. Well, evidently you didn't. This Siberian tells she gets out, right, to go get in the dude's face. And the Siberian tiger Quickly attacked the young woman and the footage shows it pulling her away. Now mama bear is going to do what mama bears do. And her mother also exited the vehicle in an attempt to save her. When she did, a second tiger then jumped on her and put her in his mouth and began dragging the older woman to her death. Despite rescue attempts by park staff now the park employees managed to save Ms. Zao who was transported the hospital with serious neck injuries. So the tiger had her by the neck but unfortunately for mama bear, she died. The park was ordered to hold all operations by the yanking distinct authorities after this incident happened back in July 2016. Investigation determined that the incident was not its responsibility and the park reopened in November that year. Well, you know what the. Well the. Although they banned these self driving tours and I've been on one of those before, but I'm pretty sure my ass isn't getting out of the car in the middle of a tiger thing, right? Yeah, I mean tigers are going to be tigers, but you get into argument with your significant other and you get out of the vehicle inside the Siberian tiger enclosure, it's not going to end well. And unfortunately her mother died. It's time for cold cases to get hot. All right, cold case time. Love it, love it, love it. This really should be a dumb ass in the court too. It's time for dum dum in the court and we're going down tell you about a Florida man who had cold case information on a cold case from 1980. So his name is Gary Edward Glautz, he's 70 years old and guess what, he's now under arrest in connection with the 1987 killing of 20 year old Melissa Taylor Ellison. So this dude told police he had information about a decades old cold case. When you guess what? Yeah, he had it. And the police proved that he had it because they arrested his ass. And Gary Edward Glauce, who 70, is accused of killing Melissa Taylor Ellison, who's a 20 year old mother in December of 1987. This court in Jacksonville Sheriff's Office nearly 40 years ago, officers responding to a report of a dead person found Ellison in her bed with blunt force injuries. Investigators said Ellison's roommates checked on her after hearing her toddler crying on the living room couch. The sheriff's office said detectives reviewed all the evidence and conducted multiple interviews. But unfortunately, like so many cases, this sweetheart case went cold until Wednesday, July 8, when this year when Glawitz contacted the Clay county sheriff's office and he told dispatchers he wants to provide information about Ellison's death. So investigators. Well, I mean, you got to follow up on it. At least you're supposed to. Some departments don't. That's unfortunate. But he was later interviewed by investigators with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, and it must have been a hell of an interview because they got ended up getting a warrant for his arrest. So while his arrest cannot feel the enormous void left in the hearts of Melissa Ellison's loved ones, I hope that this arrest is another step in the healing process. According to Sheriff T.K. waters, Glass was booked in the Deval County Jail on charges of secondary murder and burglary with assault or battery in this. This cord to the their jail records. And they didn't say what it is that he confessed to, but I'm pretty sure that he would be a dum dum in the court. He got away with it for all these years. 40, literally. 97, 2007, 17, 27, 39 years. And maybe you just have to get it off his chest, but he's under arrest for it. And shout out to them for getting the job done. Love, love, love. Cold cases being solved. It's time for family matters. All right, it's always family matters, but this is a different one. And I can remember being a young dad and having to load the stroller and unload the stroller, basically pack and unload the car anytime you went anywhere. It took like 30 minutes. And then you put your baby in a stroller and you wheel it around. A lot of times, you know, the public places. A lot of times the baby will fall asleep and you get to do a little bit of shopping. But we're going to go out to the Pike Camp, Pike's Place Market in Seattle. And I've been there. Y' all seen it in the movies. That's where they throw the fish. But it's not just that place. There's like probably 100 different stores on several levels on this place, which sits right on the Puget Sound. And actually the very first Starbucks ever is right across the street. It's a little hole in the wall. And that's where they got started. But it's a pretty chill place. And tourists come and the locals come, and it's got a lot of great shopping and shit. Well, you know what? Crime happens there also. And let me play this for you. Well known Seattle restaurant making a massive change, not because business is slow, but because customers say they don't feel safe. That's our top story here at 11 o'. Clock. Thanks for joining us. In fact, just around the corner of the restaurant on South Jackson west, we found a group of people witnesses claim were doing drugs. A woman who lives nearby and did not want to be identified told us it's a consistent and frustrating problem. No, I've never seen anything like this in my life. And I just wish that somebody would help us in this community. The people that are actually trying, the people that actually care, the people that actually have families here and are working and want better for this community. It's not fair. It's not fair to us. Last month, Mayor Katie Wilson promised a crackdown on crime and new investment in the cid. Neighbors say previous administrations have said that, too. And the efforts, they say, always fall short. What are y' all doing? Y' all are placing little band aids but not getting into the root cause of what's going on. Hold these people accountable, arrest drug dealers, enforce the laws and help us. It's a big ass restaurant this guy's got and you have to shut it down because no average citizen will come into your neighborhood. It's that bad. And in the video they showed people just sitting in broad daylight shooting dope in the street. But there you have it. That's how some states are living.

Family day at Pike Place Market turned terrifying as a stranger allegedly tried to take a stroller with a baby inside. It all happened Thursday morning. Officers say that suspect chased the mother and child into a shop, only stopping when the mother's husband intervened. We're not naming the suspect right now because he has not yet been charged with a crime. The suspect made his first court appearance on Friday with bail set at $100,000. An attempted kidnapping, that's really concerning behavior. That's why we saw prosecutors ask for the high bail amount. That suspect is due to appear in court later today and could be charged then.

All right, y', all, let's go back to great or come back to the great state of Mississippi and we talk about inmate justice and stuff like that. Really, you know, who are we to judge? But some inmates like to take justice into their own hands. And I'm gonna tell you about this case. And it couldn't be more clear cut and dried. So they had a guy, he's a. He's a teenager, y', all, and he's a murder suspect. And Milan Butler, who's 18, was booked in the Hines County Detention center on July 1 on a murder charge for fatal shooting of Melvin Edwards, who's 32, at the notoriously dangerous Pine Ridge Garden Apartments in Jackson, Mississippi. Just two days later, on the morning of July 3rd, a disturbing video began circulating on social media of a person kicking Butler's limp and bloodied body as he lay on the floor of the Raymond jail. Either a correctional officer took the video or somebody had an illegal cell phone, right? An autopsy because Mr. Butler now is dead later confirmed that he died from blunt force trauma to the head with evidence showing he had been stomped to death. This looked according to the local wapt, it said it appeared he had shoe prints all over his head. This quarter Hines county coroner Jeremiah Howard Hines Cowan Sheriff Tyree Jones confirmed the authenticity of the gory video and said an unidentified detention officer who was on patrol at the time of the killing had been placed on leave with pay this week while the incident remains under investigation. So here it is. That should be a. It's time for effed up professional because evidently this guy, this correctional officer filmed it and didn't do anything to stop it. Well sheriffs see that that operational control of the jail to the Wendell France which is a court appointed federal receiver back in October and a federal George will be holding a court hearing on Friday to discuss conditions at the jail. Well evidently they're pretty shitty. Butler died the same day that a Hines County Chancery court judge ordered the sheriff's office to hand over jail death records that it had withheld from the Southern Poverty Law Center. The sheriff said he believed that the teenagers killing could be gang related. He said, I think it's no secret that some of the violence that we have been witnessing in our community has eventually spilled over into the jail. We believe there may be a strong connection. Well I'm pretty sure you're correct sir. Butler was the second man arrested and charged in the connection with Mr. Edwards death. Municipal Court Judge Jeffrey Reynolds ordered the 18 year old held behind bars on a one million dollar bond at his initial appearance on July 2nd. Yeah, pretty sure. I know Mississippi's got death penalty but you stomped the dude to death in your own video. But the more disturbing me, I mean that happens happens in jail. I mean jail is not a nice place. You don't, you don't want to get stomped to death by inmates in the jail because it's gang related. Then don't go to jail. That's my advice. But the, to the correction officer who stood there and took the video and shared it and again I don't know how in the hell it gets shared on tick tock and like that with the violence on it. And I can't share anything. Basically I can't share me drawing, dragging dead hogs down the road to throw them away. But he did it and he's an effed up professional because he should have done his job and saved that dude's life. But that jail is in a world of hurt. Y' all trying to end on a positive note, this is not positive. If you are an animal lover and we're going to Nebraska and calling your tips 313-RLRC-TIP on whatever you want to. Right. And in Nebraska they got an anonymous tip about a home near 195th and Pacific in west Omaha in the Nebraska Humane Society went out and they discovered nearly 60 animals. 60. I've got one here. And when my other grandbaby dollars come. Yeah, I love them to death, but I can't wait for them to leave. Right. That 60 animals, including a zebra living in poor conditions. When they searched the property, the they this discovery they got in a raise urgent animal welfare concerns and broader safety questions. Right. So let me tell you what happened. On Thursday, they removed dozens of animals from a west Omaha residence. Those animals include, and listen to this, household pets, birds, livestock and exotics such as dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, geese, pigs, ponies, goats, donkeys, alpacas and an emu and a zebra. All from the same house. 60 of them. So a guy named Steen Gantt told that the the charges are forthcoming and described the animals residences as deplorable conditions. And so they obtained a warrant late last week after the tip. Many of the animals were described as severely underweight and some livestock had overgrown hooves suggesting a lack of basic care over time. They also the, the, the organization, they call them NHS and wwt. I don't know what those acronyms stand for, y'. All. They also found themselves unprepared for how much there was to do. Well, 60, I'm sure you had a lot quotations. As prepared as we thought we were, we were still overwhelmed when we got there. As it turns out. We had to make a couple trips to shuttle animals here from the scene. Well, y', all, why does it matter? They say large livestock and exotic animals can pose serious safety concerns in residential settings. Let me tell you something. It wouldn't matter if they were large or small. You got 60 of them, it's going to pose a health concern. But this, they had a plethora. They had them from the baby to the biggest. You have know how fucking mean emus are. That's like the meanest bird that there is. But they said large livestock and exotic animals can pose serious safety concerns in residential settings, especially when they are stressed, underfed or improperly contained. Well, they said this place was a real shithole. But they said wild animals like zebras are biologically unpredictable and can be dangerous. Keeping a zebra as a pet poses severe safety risk and requires specialized care and demands a larger type of enclosure to prevent escape. And they require special diets. Okay, forget about the emu for a minute. How big is a zebra? You got a horse living in there too. That's what a zebra is. So the NHS told W T which I think is a news organization is working to get all the animals the care they need and finding a home for all them at a suitable properties. Y', all they did it. They were. Or. Or they're doing it. Remove all the property. But nobody's been charged yet. But they said they. They suspect the misdemeanor charges for those who violated Omaha's ordinance against keeping exotic animals. And he said these animals don't deserve to be kept in those kind of conditions. Well sir, I would agree with you for a fact and I don't know, I've seen some pretty crazy. The witches of the east side never forget they had live pigs and chickens and. And a bunch of live. I didn't have zebras and emus and whatever. But no lights. Brand new double wide mobile home. Three nice jeeps sitting outside, no lights and hogs and all kinds of inside. Never forget that. But that's how some people live and that's the way that the ball bounces. In love and appreciate each every one of y' all again. It was the birthday of his daughter who According to Ms. Lynn, the daughter told her previous boyfriend exactly what happened to Madison. Right. And now she is joining the military and okay, the one thing about that is if they ever want to go questioner again and get her statement, the military will always know where she is. So the calling you tips. We got to get Madison home. The Geez. If anybody needs some rest in peace, every family member does. But Ms. Ms. Lynn needs it. And we can. We're the only ones who can provide it. The cops have to provide it. But we can gently give them the things that they need and they could certainly run these leads down and. And do exactly what they're doing and let's find out what happened to Madison. And I'm pretty sure I'm not. I'm positive it's going to turn into a hashtag justice for Madison.
