Foreign true crime time for Tuesday, July 8, 2025. And I'm Woody Overton. I'm Cindy Overton bringing you the news. Probably none of it's really good and we'll start out immediately. Texas, and they're still under. This is Monday, but they were recording early. They're still under, you know. Yeah, flash flood watches and stuff like that. And I read this morning that two little girls were found holding the hands deceased. And you know, it's horrible. Prayers go out to everybody over there. And we know a lot of good people from Louisiana and across the country are going to help just bring awareness to them, y', all, and send prayers for them and they definitely need it.
Cindy Overton
Definitely.
Woody Overton
I mean, like I said, I can't imagine dropping your kids off at summer camp and never seeing them again. So. And the death toll continues to grow. So prayers and prayers and prayers, y'. All. Let's take it to Louisiana and to St. Gabriel, which is a town right outside the city of Baton Rouge. It butts up to the Baton Rouge city limits. And they had a captain who'd been on with the department for 12 years, Devin Butte, and he was found stabbed to death in his home. And the chief said he reported over there. Once he got the report, he went over there and they arrested a guy, evidently got an argument and the guy stabbed him to the death. So I hate that the they said Captain Boute will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him and serve alongside him and our thoughts and heartfelt prayers with his family, friends and loved ones. And we asked the community keep us in your prayers as we mourn the loss of another life taken far too soon. And it don't have the details on it, but another Fourth of July killing, if you will. If we didn't get enough of that yesterday.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
For Monday, so. So I don't know that it is. Is what it is, but.
Cindy Overton
Well, like you always say that one person isn't the only. I mean, the whole department is going to feel such a loss.
Woody Overton
Everybody, they work. You know, you're so tightly. You work so close together, you put your lives in each other's hands every day. And unless you've done that, unless you've been in the military and in combat or law enforcement or whatever, firefighter, I don't think you'll ever get it. But it's a real deal. And it's just, you know, it's tragic that don't know the circumstances. Who knows? But any cop life is tragic. So that's, you know, that's what I got on that. Oh, Texas is up 75 bodies now so far. And I think it was 69 when we recorded yesterday. We go to Texas again and guess what? An active shooter armed with tactical gear and a rifle open fire upon a border patrol age agents as they arrived at the Border Patrol Annex facility in McAllen, Texas in the Rio Grande Valley and been to Mac Allen many times. They said agents and local police return fire and kill the gunman. Which is good, right? No federal agents were hit, but one Mac Allen police officer was struck. Right. Law enforcement sources say the officer is in stable condition. And then I. They did a release on Fox News and said this morning an individual opened fire at the entrance of the United States Border Patrol SECTOR Annex in McAllen, Texas. Both border patrol agents and local police helped neutralize the shooter. In Department of Homeland Security is the one that gave a statement. They said this is an ongoing investigation led by the FBI and more information will be shared as soon as possible. So, I mean, just show up to shoot the Border Patrol. And this, this incident comes just days after another Texas police officer was shot Friday night near the U.S. immigration, Customs or ICE Prairie Land Detention Center. And DHS says they're, you know, monitoring the attacks. And this. Yes. Crazy.
Cindy Overton
It is so crazy.
Woody Overton
I mean, pretty sure you got a motive. When you look at this. This is the front door high power. I'm showing to YouTube high power bullet holes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 that I can see in the door. Just show up and kill some border patrol agents, which your daddy retired from and was section chief of for South Texas and all that. And I don't know. It's crazy.
Cindy Overton
So very crazy. It's very scary.
Woody Overton
I don't think you guys do a story yesterday, but go ahead.
Cindy Overton
I. I've always asked you, I'm going to ask you again, but do you think that crime has increased over the years?
Woody Overton
No, I'm sure it has. And, but I'm also sure that everybody has a phone and everybody wants instant stuff. But yeah, I mean, stupid crimes like that back in the day, people didn't show up. Just fill a bullet. Fill a border patrol station full of bullet holes. It's because all the that's going on today. So there you have it. I will let you give us a story today.
Cindy Overton
I have a. A story out of Florida where a mom, we're in a Lucha county and a mom didn't want to watch her kids. So she did what a lot of moms would do, bring them to their grandma.
Woody Overton
Right?
Cindy Overton
Right. So the mother of five year old twins wanted to go out and she brought those little girls to her mama's house. And her mama, whose name is Tamara Stoiber or the mother's name is Tamara Stoiber, she's 37. And the grandmother, Sabine Thrift, she's 59. And Sabine, the grandmother was like, I didn't want to babysit. So I just put the little girls in a shed.
Woody Overton
Nice.
Cindy Overton
So.
Woody Overton
And I'm sure it was hot.
Cindy Overton
And neighbors heard, you know, there's a bunch of people, you know, neighbors hear the little girls banging or whatever. And they reported it. So the police show up and deputies arrived and they found them locked in the shed with no food, water, electricity, plumbing or phone.
Woody Overton
There you go.
Cindy Overton
However, they were left with a large knife. And a brick had been placed outside to block the door, preventing the girls from leaving. Which now the deputies say that thank goodness they couldn't get out. Because they were close to a major highway. And if they had gotten out, it was dark outside, it was like middle of the night. They could have walked into oncoming traffic or something along those lines and gotten more hurt. But they described the girls, the deputies described the girls as malnourished, scared, disheveled, but physically unhurt. And they, like I said, noted the extreme danger of them being able to wander that busy highway that was nearby. But stor Storybird, the mom had just dropped the girls off saying that she was going to the store. But she never came back that night. She was gone for several hours. She was arrested and charged with two counts of child neglect and two counts of false imprisonment. The grandmother, like I said, she said, I didn't, I didn't want to babysit. And so she locked him in the shed for at the very least two hours. And she was charged with two counts of child neglect. And she's being held on a $20,000 bond.
Woody Overton
I need to lock her in the shed.
Cindy Overton
And they said that between midnight and 3:30 is when the girls were, you know, put into that shed. I mean, why couldn't they just go to sleep? In their bed or a bed or a couch or a floor.
Woody Overton
I don't know. She doesn't get. Doesn't get grandma of the year award, that's for sure.
Cindy Overton
Right, or mama of the year.
Woody Overton
Yeah, both of them. So I don't know. I don't know. Well, we're going to California and police have discovered a body in a park just three and a half miles away from where this lady went missing or was last seen. Okay. And we're Santa Clara County. County. And a Santa Clara county sheriff's office said they found a body under a bridge near Anderson Lake park where missing 18 year old Marissa D. Napole was last seen. But it wasn't clear if it was her or not. This according to NBC Bay Area. Pretty sure it's going to be her. But they said due to the condition of the body, we were unable to make identification. We will need to wait for the results of the medical examination before we can provide any further information. Well, that sounds like to me they're working it as a homicide and they just don't want to tell yet. The police told embassy B area that it was Dean, the poly's family who discovered the body. They had been searching for her in various places throughout the day. And her family last heard from her via text message on June 28 at 9:16pm when she told them that she was staying with a friend for the evening and would return home the next day. Could have been somebody using her phone, right?
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
Well, when she didn't return home or respond to calls from her family, she was reported missing. And she was last seen on June 29 at 9:45am with a Martine Mendoza, 21, who was her boyfriend and is a person of interest in the disappearance. They were seen leaving the home just outside of Morgan Hill where her car was later found. Now, on Sunday morning, Savannah's video called dinapoli and Mendoza leaving a house. When he asked, why would you text your ex? Right. And it's according to the Morgan Hill Times. So Jocelyn Gutierrez, who's the dean of Poly's best friend, told NCB NBC Bay Area that she was afraid of what Mendoza could do to Dean Napoleon. She said, marissa has told me firsthand in the car with my friends outside my house that he would kill her, that he would not stop, that he's obsessed with her, that he's crazy and that he's willing to go out to go to that extent. So friends of Dina Post told the same outlet that Anderson Lake was one of the places where Mendoza frequently took Her. And earlier in the day a family member told the same outlet that they got in contact with Mendoza and he tried to say he wasn't Martin, Martin Mendoza and then follow that with. With. He hasn't spoken to her for two weeks. But there's a POS positive video of him being there on the 29th. He's lying.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
With her and leaving with her. So the investigation is active and ongoing. He killed her. Just like I told you when Gabby Petito went missing. You see her.
Cindy Overton
Oh, 18.
Woody Overton
18 year old baby. Y' all can see that on YouTube. The just. I don't know, I don't.
Cindy Overton
I just get. It gets, gets hard to tell these stories every day. I hate to laugh and I mean, I don't mean it in a funny way. I just mean that it's just tragedy everywhere.
Woody Overton
That's what we do. True crime news, right?
Cindy Overton
Yeah. Well, I'm going to go back to Florida. In El Portal, I guess portal, there's a four year old little girl and we're going to June 27th. So this is a few days old but a four year old little girl named Aria Talathi was found unresponsive in the deep end of the home that she was living in pool. And the alarm was raised at around 3:40am leading emergency crews to performing CPR. But this is like what happened? So Dr. Nera Gupta is a 36 year old pediatrician for Oklahoma City and she traveled with her daughter Aria from Oklahoma to a Florida rental. Right now she's going through a major custody battle with her ex husband and he's also a doctor, Dr. Saurabh Talathi. And he had no idea that his ex wife took Aria over state lines.

Did you know your calendar age doesn't always match how old your body truly is? I recently took the True Age test from True Diagnostic and discovered my biological age. And let me tell you, it's completely changed the way I look at my health. Biological age is a powerful indicator of how fast you're aging on the inside, and it directly predicts your risk for serious diseases. Here's why that matters. Research shows that if your biological age is even just five years older than your actual age, your risk of developing diseases like cancer or heart disease can jump by as much as 30 to 50%. That's a big deal. And the amazing part is nearly 90% of biological aging is actually, actually in our control. It all comes down to lifestyle, habits and your environment. When I got my results back, I was honestly shocked. My chronological age is 55, but my biological OMICM age came back at 63, meaning I'm biologically about eight years older.
Woody Overton
Than my actual age.

That was definitely not what I expected, and honestly, it was a big wake.

The triage test didn't just give me one number. It broke down how quickly each of.
Woody Overton
My organ systems are aging.
Podcast Sponsor
And it was eye opening. I found out that my liver and musculoskeletal system are actually aging slower, which was encouraging. But my heart, brain, lungs and metabolic systems were all aging faster than they should be. I also learned that my pace of aging is 1.1, meaning for every year that passes, I'm aging 1.1 biological years. And that and that can increase my risk of chronic disease and even shorten my lifespan if I don't make changes. This test really pushed me to make some adjustments. The personalized strategies they shared from top scientists at Harvard and Yale included focusing more on strength and resistance training to support my heart and metabolic health. The best part? The test itself was super easy and convenient. I did it right at home. No doctor visits or big needles, just a quick painless finger prick and I mailed it back in a prepaid package and got a detailed online report in.

Gupta told police that she and Arya spent the previous day riding jet skis and returned to the rental home in the evening. And she said that she and her daughter ate dinner around 9pm and then they co slept and the master or primary bedroom around 3:20am she woke up to a noise. Gupta says she woke up to a noise and discovered the sliding door unlocked and found Aria floating in the pool. And she claimed that she tried to rescue her for 10 minutes, but being.
Woody Overton
A pediatrician and it's her kid, you would think so, right?
Cindy Overton
She then says she's unable to swim, but remember they were jet skiing the whole day, right?
Woody Overton
Right.
Cindy Overton
So she called 91 1.
Woody Overton
Oh Lord. Which state was this?
Cindy Overton
Florida.
Woody Overton
Okay, I know they got the death penalty.
Cindy Overton
So the autopsy was done and two days later it was shown in the autopsy that there was zero water in Aria's lungs or stomach, ruling out a drowning. She had bruises inside her cheeks and cuts in her mouth which were consistent with smothering. Her stomach was empty, which contradicted Gupta's claim of they ate at 9 o' clock that night. So detectives of course now allege that the mom smothered Aria, then staged the scene by placing her in the pool to make it appear as an accidental drowning. And then based on the autopsies, inconsistencies and the mom's account of what happened, and surveillance at the Airbnb that she was at Miami Dade, authorities issued an arrest warrant for first degree murder. So on on July 2, Gupta was arrested in Oklahoma City without bond and Florida is seeking her extradition to Miami Dade. Meanwhile, the University of Oklahoma and U ou Health have confirmed that she that Gupta was suspended and had ceased seeing patients as of May 30, which was pending her termination. So her attorney says that Gupta is just a grieving mother. And he emphasized that she's fully cooperated and expressed surprise, noting the autopsy evidence and whatever. Yeah, exactly. It's disgusting.
Woody Overton
She's gonna get hers and I don't know. I mean, who knows what goes on in people's heads, right?
Cindy Overton
Yeah. So apparently there was a protective order in place as well.
Woody Overton
Well, let's go out to Alaska and. Horrible story. I guess I should tell you what happened first and then I'll tell you what's happening now. The back on November 2nd of 2022, there were. There was a 14 year old girl who was walking home after attending school. This dude named Anderson approached her in his vehicle, and through coercion, Anderson managed to convince her to get in his vehicle. Then he pointed a gun at her. Now, when you think things can't get any worse for this kid, Anderson covered her head with a blanket, punched her in the face and duct taped her hands. Drove to a secluded area in the woods, which isn't hard to do in Alaska. And then he gets her out of the vehicle, takes her farther into the woods and rapes her. So after he did this, he took his gun, covered his eyes and shot blindly at the girl without checking if she had died. He disposed of his gun at a nearby river and he ran like a little bitch. But thankfully, the girl survived the shooting. She managed to free herself from the restraints and walked out of the woods. And then she flagged down a vehicle and of course authorities came and got her help. Well, the cops get right on it, right? And they end up finding Anderson, who was a convicted sex offender because back in 2000, he was convicted of raping another minor. Why he's out, I don't know. But now a little good news on the story. So he's 52 years old. Now in David Anderson, he was sentenced for kidnapping and they call it sexual assault. And it's raping and raping the 14 year old girl, the one that he left to die in the woods. And according to a release issued by the U.S. attorney's Office of the District, Alaska, Anderson was sentenced to 50 years in prison on Wednesday, July 2, and he will serve the rest of his life on supervised release. 50 years. I mean, he's 52, so. Yeah, but it doesn't matter. He still needs the death penalty. Gotta ask. I've never asked about Alaska. Does Alaska have the death penalty?
Cindy Overton
Here's what I found.
Woody Overton
Nope, never had a death penalty. Okay. All right. Well, anyway, the back in January 2025, Anderson pled guilty to kidnapping a minor and committing an offense as a registered sex offender. Previously Anderson was charged by the state of Alaska Department of law on October 7, 2024 he was sentenced to 85 years in prison, which he is currently serving at the time of his newest sentencing. So they said Mr. Anderson perpetrated an unimaginable random act of horror, will spend the rest of his life in the only appropriate place, which is prison. That's according to the district of Alaska. U.S. attorney Michael J. Heyman said the survivor showed extraordinary bravery and escaping the Sahara. And Alaska state troopers and FBI mounted an incredible investigation to hold this predator accountable. So they got him 85 for the state charge and another 50 something for the federal charge. So y', all, if you ever a victim, don't give up, don't give up. Fight until they kill you. If they're gonna kill you, they're gonna kill you anyway. Maybe you get some DNA on your fingernails, maybe you get away.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
So. But at least there's one that'll die in prison. Yeah, that deserves to.
Cindy Overton
Yeah, for sure. So for sure, for sure. And he won't get a last meal.
Woody Overton
That's true. He'll have a last meal. We just don't.
Cindy Overton
Yeah, he won't know what get to choose it. Okay, I, we're going to go to Ohio.
Woody Overton
Ohio.
Cindy Overton
And there is a couple who reported finding their two year old daughter unresponsive and they quote unquote, we woke up and found her. She's dead.
Woody Overton
Right.
Cindy Overton
Reminds me of a story. When I was a little girl my daddy was working like for like midnight to 8 or you know, something along those lines. In Heavenville I was a baby like months old and my mom we didn't have like Pampers, you know, with the plastic things. They had like cloth diapers with pins and she had, she was changing my diaper and I was wiggling around and she stuck me with the pen and I got so mad that I held my breath. It was the first time I did that and I did that many times over my younger years. And she, I held my breath and passed out and she picked me up and she threw me on my dad and she said here, you can have her, she's dead. Like ran off to the neighbor's house crying.
Woody Overton
I did the same thing when I was a little bit eat with the office in Clinton and Mr. Bobby Jackson was there and I was holding my breath. My mama said she was scared to death. I was turning red and almost blew in the face. Mr. Bobby said let him go. Yeah, he's just gonna pass out and start breathing again.
Cindy Overton
Exactly. That's exactly what the doctor, Mr. Bubby.
Woody Overton
Who'S responsible for getting me into deer hunting and everything else. He's deceased now, but he's awesome, dude.
Cindy Overton
Wonderful human being.
Woody Overton
He was in all his boys.
Cindy Overton
Yes.
Woody Overton
All right, go ahead.
Cindy Overton
On June 29th in Adams County, Ohio, emergency responders arrived at the Timber Ridge apartment comple and this is just north of Cincinnati. And it was after Brian Moser called 91 1. Brian also has a another name, Terry Smith III. So I don't know what his AKA is for, but that is noted several times in the article. He reported finding his two year old daughter unresponsive. And like I said, he said, we woke up and found her. She's dead. First responders pronounced the girl dead at the scene and an autopsy by the Montgomery county coroner's office later confirmed that she had suffocated. Authorities arrested the girl's mom, who is TNS Hawkins and she was 25, and her boyfriend who was 23 on child endangerment charges, though the prosecutor said a homicide classification and additional charges are possible as the investigation goes on. Two other children were in the home and one was age. There were. They were one years old and five years old and they were also injured and are now part of the ongoing investigation. The Adams county prosecutor's office stated that they haven't formally labeled it a homicide but warned of those additional charges. Homicide and investigators are collecting statements from the other children, which luckily one is five years old, to determine the cause of their injuries and whether neglect or abuse played a role.
Woody Overton
Yeah, then I guess a lot of times the articles always say that, but they don't call it a homicide because they don't want to be on the stand one day and the defense is going to say, oh, you only focus on our client. You didn't focus on anyone else. And how do you know that? So that's just precautionary thing right now let's go to North Carolina and this store is about a week old, but it needs to be told. I hadn't heard of it. Liam Ray sent me this. So there's a 48. We're going to Cherokee, North Carolina. All right. And I've been to Cherokee counties on the other side of the mountain from Tennessee, but they had a 48 year old inmate, Kelvin Simmons, and you know, he needed to go see an orthopedic. So what they do, they get two correctional officers and that's the only Correctional officers you'll see carrying firearms besides the ones on Roman patrol outside the gates, it's the ones that do transporting. And when I did it for Department of Corrections, the rule was like, if you were in the city and you, or charity, wherever you, if you're in the city, you have to fire a warning shot. When they escape you, you shot them to stop. Whereas like on the farm in Angola, if you're there fighting online, you got to fire warning shot then, then shoot to stop them. But anyway, so they. He's an inmate, Kelvin Simmons. Look at this. Okay, he's just a good looking dude, isn't he? I bet his mama's proud. So the this occurred on Monday, June 30. And according to Cherokee County Sheriff's Office of CCSO at that time, Correctional Officer Valtes and fellow officer George Venar had transported this Simmons to a Peachtree orthopedic office. And what does Simmons do? He's an asshole. He overpowers both the officers, he grabs one of their guns and he shoots Flatis or Flats. Now the sheriff's law says that Simmons then exited office and hijacked the vehicle in the parking lot, which caused a vehicle chase. So now 911 calls are coming in, right? 1-911-Caller at the time called in, says, you know, said everything that's happening, right? And then the dispatcher says he's shooting off in the lobby and the caller says he's got a hostage. So Sims runs out of the building and the caller says, hey, he's now approaching the vehicle that just arrived. And he said he's robbing her. He's getting a Chevy, a black Chevy car. So Simmons then drove into Macon county and the sheriff's office. Captain CCSO somehow managed to disable Simmons vehicle, which then led to a brief standoff, right? He's like, fuck it, I'm not getting out. But moment moments later, he gave up like the little bitch that he is. And he was taken in the county by the Macon County Sheriff's Office because he's across the parish, not Paris, the county line. But unfortunately, Cherokee County Detention Officer Francisco Flats died. And Officer Fenier was also injured during the incident and he is recovering. So they said, this is the hardest day of my career. Cherokee County Sheriff Dustin Smith said, we're all mourning the loss of Francisco and doing everything we can to support each other and the family and loved ones of Officer Flats. Kelvin Simmons, who was in jail on a bank robbery charges, will now face first degree murder. And also this asshole Simmons was already Awaiting charges for an alleged October 2024 escape attempt. When. When he did this. That's probably what they had. Two officers.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
So the. I got asked, does North Carolina have the death penalty described? So they don't.
Cindy Overton
I found this on the web.
Woody Overton
Well, they say despite remaining a legal penalty, so they do have it. There have been no executions in North Carolina since 2006. Well, this dude did what he did. He intended to do it. He killed a law enforcement officer. And yes, correctional officers are not security guards. They are law enforcement officers. And he killed him. He's already tried to escape once. He's in on bank robbery charges. He's a.
Cindy Overton
He's a.
Woody Overton
And he killed one, tried to kill another, and then he kidnapped somebody and took their vehicle. Yeah, yeah, him. Give him the death penalty.
Cindy Overton
So that story reminded me of Todd Chrisley has come out and he's talking about, like, how bad medical care is and prison, and if he didn't like.
Woody Overton
It, he shouldn't have gone to prison.
Cindy Overton
Well, and he's trying to, you know, reform it and stuff like that, but then you have situations like this where they're taking the man to the doctor. Orthopedic.
Woody Overton
They have to. I know, he's full of. Chrisley's full. How about that? He doesn't like prison. Don't. Even if he got sent wrong, wrongfully or whatever, don't go to prison. Yeah, that's how I feel about that. I've taken doctor's appointments for all kinds of. Yes, they get dentists. Yes, they get medical care. Yes, they get cancer treatment. Yes, they get everything. You know why? You're the state. You send us some time. Your party, your. Your biggest part of your job is, one, keep them away from other civilians and two, is to keep them alive.
Cindy Overton
Be human about it.
Woody Overton
That's right.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
So.
Cindy Overton
Yeah. Well, I was just.
Woody Overton
They want to talk about human. What should have been back in Angola in the day.
Cindy Overton
Right.
Woody Overton
And they didn't have any. Except for one nurse.
Cindy Overton
Yeah. So we are going to go and I don't really want to tell this story. I think it's going to bring up some ptsd.
Woody Overton
Australia, it's time for worldwide crime.
Cindy Overton
All right, we're going to Australia and this is going to. I don't. But anyway. Okay. There was a man in his 50s in northern New South Wales, Australia, and he became the first person in the state to contract the Australian bat lyssavirus. And it hit me hard when I read this article. And as. As I. As I talked to you about it. I'm sure you're going to have obviously more PTSD than me, but watching you suffer all of those months was horrible. But you are here now and thank God for that. But this virus is closely related to rabies and is extremely rare in humans. And this is only the fourth confirmed case in Australia. So several months ago the man was bitten by a bat and he received post exposure treatment but later fell ill. He was hospitalized in critical condition. On July 2, his infection was confirmed as the first. What, they just used the initials ABOV in New South Wales?
Woody Overton
I bet they had a lot better fucking luck diagnosing than they did me with brucellosis. It took them like five days and spinal taps and everything from cancer doctors to neurologists to whatever before that infectious disease doctor found out I had brucellosis.
Cindy Overton
And, and, and that was just a guess. Then they had to prove it and they had to wait more days, lab.
Woody Overton
In California and then fly more. And yeah, got to the point that stuck me so many times that I was on my dad, anyway, it didn't matter. But in the end when I was on the men, I was like, you're not taking any more blood from me.
Cindy Overton
You're absolutely right. Then we had to do all the home health and yeah, well, on July 3rd, the man succumbed to the virus. But this is interesting a little bit about abov. The lyssavirus is transmitted through bat bites or scratches, primarily from fruit bats, flying foxes and microbats. Symptoms begin with like flu, like symptoms, fever, headache, fatigue, then escalate to paralysis, delirium, convulsions and death. Once symptoms appear, it's invariably fatal because there's no effective treatment. And so they go into explaining like the incubation period, which could be for weeks or years.
Woody Overton
Three months before.
Cindy Overton
Yeah, before you probably. Since its discovery in 1996, only four human cases have been confirmed. Two wildlife workers in 1996 and a boy in 2012. And then the New South Wales case, though rare, it's found in less than 0.5% of bats. Any bat might carry the virus, but there's no way to tell by appearance. So the public health, like what? NSW Health is urging the public to obviously never handle bats, especially injured ones. And they reiterate the importance of immediate womb care if bitten. And what that includes is 15 minutes of washing with soap and water, then using an antiseptic like Betadine or Betadine, and then get the rabies vaccine. So veterinarians and wildlife carers are encouraged to get preemptive rabies vaccinations because of, of course, they have a higher risk of exposure to that. So I'm so sad that this man lost his life.

I mean unfortunately he would have. Because there's no anecdote. There's no way of helping him. And what you had when you were on brucellosis was from my memory. Four different antibiotics ranging from so many different things all at once in IV form and pill form. And it was just some bad. It was bad.
Woody Overton
And literally kept me alive by pumping fluids into me.
Cindy Overton
And then almost killed you by pumping fluids.
Woody Overton
Congestive heart failure in the middle of all that. Had emergency stomach surgery because I'd been needing Advil like candy for months because I don't go to the doctor. But bleeding also crazy. I hate that they died from it.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
All right, all right. Well, you know, Dallas Cowboys always kind of been my team. Just really. Because I don't really give a fuck about the NFL. Like because the Saints. I know I'm wearing a Saints hat now, but when we were growing up, we had two and a half channels. There was no cable tv. The Saints were the worst team in the league. People wore brown paper bags. We never got to watch any of the home games because they were blacked out. If they didn't sell out to Superdam, they blacked out the game. So I never. My daddy didn't give a about it. I never cared about him. But I like The Dallas Cowboys. Two Tall Jones. I had his poster number 72 on my wall. And another guy, Dallas Cowboys star right now, Kavante Turpin. He's actually pretty good and he's in. He's in a little bit of trouble because he was going 97 miles an hour and actually, yeah, speeds near 100 miles an hour. Had a gun in his back seat and he got arrested over the weekend. So according to an Allen police department incident report report, Turpin was pulled over around 11.49pm on Saturday in Texas after cops say they clocked him and going 97 in a 70 and it's 2022 Dodge now during a traffic stop, cops gonna be looking around, doing what they do and they could see a 9 millimeter pistol in Plain view, which means through the window. And less than 2 ounces of weed. Now, if you're not a weed smoker, an ounce of weed is how much. It's a lot. The, I mean it's, it's probably big as a thing of sausage. So you got 2 ounces, so it's probably about that big around.
Cindy Overton
So how much? Like how many joints can.
Woody Overton
A lot. I don't know. A fucking lot. Way more than I'd ever smoked. So they found that in his car, center console. And so they took him to jail and booked them on two misdemeanor charges. One count of possession of marijuana, less than 2 ounces and one count of unlawful carrying a weapon. Well, they should have booked him on this other shit too. He was, he later was released on by. But here's the deal. That pistol, you don't like our pistols? When we ride, we're always armed. They're not laying on the back seat. No, when you're going 97 miles an hour, you see the bow behind you, you got the pistol out of your hand, out of your reach and you said, well look, I couldn't even reach it right. But guess what? It's your vehicle. It's extension your home. You still own it. So He's. He's a 28 year old, two time Pro Bowler and then just signed a three year, $13.5 million contract to stay with the Cowboys this season. And last year he called 31 passes for 420 yards and two touchdowns. Now let me tell you something. If you are getting $13.5 million, let's say after taxes, that's nine. After you pay your agent, you're getting seven. You're literally bringing home $7 million this year to go run around the football field and catch passes. Same shit you've been doing since you were probably five or six years old. Now you're 28. Even though you've been making millions in the past, the. You got to be dumb. I mean just dumb as a fucking box of rocks. Listen, and I never wrote speeding tickets, hardly ever, unless I had to. But the. If you catch somebody going 100 miles an hour, whether it's a 70 or a 40, whatever the speed limit is in that zone you catch going 100 miles an hour, you either going to be a bad guy or it's a cop, right? I'm not talking about you going to the grocery store doing 100 miles an hour. That never happens, right? You catch somebody going 100 miles an hour, they go have cocaine, weed, guns or Warrants or something, right. This. He's got like $7 million right now liquid in his bank. But Jerry Jones will put up with that. Jerry Jones kind of name this nonsense.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
And. And now his sons and are running it and all that. And I don't know. I don't get it. But it's almost all season and there's only like 12 more weekends until bow season, which means like 8 more. 8 more until dove season. What the fuck you talking about? We interrupt this marriage. You hunt as much as I do now.
Cindy Overton
I know, but you used to tell me we interrupt this marriage.
Woody Overton
You used to say that.
Cindy Overton
I know. So anyway, I don't know. I. I've been watching. I've watched the first two episodes of this season of the Cowgirls. The. The Dancers.
Woody Overton
I hadn't watched that one. Yeah, so you watched without me, so now I can watch it.
Cindy Overton
We never watched it together.
Woody Overton
I know, but I thought we were watching the season together.
Cindy Overton
Well, it's kind of like the other season.
Woody Overton
It's fine. I've been. I've been. I've just watched by myself. No big deal.
Cindy Overton
I didn't know that we were waiting.
Woody Overton
No, and I didn't know we were either. No, you were watching. I thought you had plenty of housewives.
Cindy Overton
I've been watching to watch the. Waiting to watch the Maccabee or Macveigh people.
Woody Overton
Okay, I want to get tell about the story real quick and then we're going to quit. So I read about this Last week this dude was on vacation. He's from New York and he's in the Turks and Caicos, which is. We would go there, but we know Belize is so much cheaper and the same shit and less developed and more Irvine. But anyway, it's a beautiful place. And he went missing last week. They had him on video walking out of his rental, walking downtown and just disappeared. I was like gonna be dead.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
But I'm pretty sure maybe he went to get high or something like that and got robbed or whatever. Well, guess what?
Cindy Overton
They found him.
Woody Overton
A body has been found in the search of the missing New York man who disappeared last month while visiting the Turks and Caicos with his wife. Brian Terrence was last seen on surveillance footage leaving his rental property at the Paradise Inn, Grace bay at approximately 3:30am local time on June 25th. Now you live at 3:30am Maybe you're going to get a pack of smokes because you're already drunk.
Cindy Overton
Maybe.
Woody Overton
But other than that you're going to get up. So the 51 year old had traveled to the vacation spot with his wife Maria on June 21 and they had planned to spend a week there to celebrate their anniversary. But they were coming home on June 29th but he disappeared. He was last seen walking toward the downtown area of the island and never been seen again. Now they found a deceased male in the Grace Bay area and according to the Royal Turks and Caicos Island Police Force, officers who were searching for Brian on July 5 discovered the body of a deceased male in a state of decon comp at approximately 9 to 6am local time. Well, let me tell you a little bit about I'm sure they have fine police officers there but it's been this long and it's hot. They weren't out searching. Somebody said smell a dead body. Oh, and there's nothing that smells like that. You smell. You'll never forget it, they said. At approximately 9:06am on Saturday July 5, 2025, the officers roll in Turks blah blah blah. While conducting a search operation the Grace Bay Police District discovered the body of a deceased male in a state of the court in this rereading the police statement now they said the scene has been secured and all appropriate partner agencies have been notified. Now while the officers have not identified the body by official means, they said it would be it would reveal updates after the ID process has been successful and from there the next kin would be informed of the deaths of the loved one. They said the rural Turks and Caicos Island Police force extend sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and that's coordinator Police Commissioner Rodney Adams said we urge members of the public to refrain from speculation and allow this investigation process to confirm that Danny was going to be and we know that but the family had hired a private investigator. I wish I mean come on man. They and I've read that's what drew my interest last week. Right. But this guy's name is Carl DeFazio and he previously told People magazine that the couple's vacation has started like normal and but he noted something bizarre about Brian's last moment which were caught on camera said his fans showed him with his phone in his hand and his wallet on his body as he walked down the street. Okay. Even though his wallet has not been recovered, no charges have been made to his account as part of the detective and no calls were made from his phone they said he said they seem to be having a normal couple days and he ended up walking out of his condo which is in a very safe place in the middle of the Grace Bay Road said he said we have him on camera and he walks into town and basically disappears and we haven't heard from him since. And the investigator, the private investigator possibly says that Brian is a smart guy and we don't know what's in his mind or if he did this on his own or somebody took him in. Well, anyway, it is what it is. The speculation. Maybe they have a spat, whatever. I mean, come on, man. The. Remember the guy in Baton Rouge, the one missing from Happy.
Cindy Overton
Exactly.
Woody Overton
He ended up being down bought a hot shot of dope and. From Georgia and. And died. And he threw his ass out and then took him around at naturally, you know.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
To get high and then got all.
Cindy Overton
Trashed and wasn't it another supposed to.
Woody Overton
Be in a meeting the next morning and didn't show.
Cindy Overton
He wasn't the one rolled up in the carpet, was he?
Woody Overton
Yes.
Cindy Overton
Okay.
Woody Overton
Yeah. And, and. But they proved that they did that because they wanted to get. They didn't want dead body in her car. But they didn't kill him. The dope killing. So I don't. I don't know. I don't know. It was the world of crime today as we know it and love and appreciate each and every one of y'. All.

The final case discussed takes listeners to Australia, where a rare and fatal viral infection is reported.
