Hello everybody. Welcome to this episode of True Crime. Time for Wednesday, June 17, 2026 and I'm Woody Overton bring you the true crime stories again. Also, I'm looking at doing a story from Clinton, Louisiana on for Friday and Saturday should be a two parter a a horrific as all homicide cases are a horrific homicide case that I've been looking at so stay tuned for that. Now in eight plus years of doing real life real crime we've had a whole bunch of live shows and I was thinking last night, I think it's 14 live shows that I've done total where life has come in from all over and that's including the year that that I had brucellosis and we took off but the never had to cancel a show except for when we sold out House of Blues and I did that way back right when Covid was starting and I canceled the show because they added a bunch of ticket master fees and stuff and I thought just thought the ticket price were outrageous. But unfortunately I have to cancel this show. It's one month and a day from when you're listening to this and if you've already bought tickets, don't panic you when you wake up this morning, you'll have an email today from Southeastern Louisiana University explaining that your money is going to be refunded within five to seven days. They're going to refund it directly back to whatever. If it's a checking account or credit card or whatever, you're going to get your. Your full refund, okay? And I apologize. I hate it. They look miss Crystal Horace and Southeastern, the living learning center. And they've always been great to us and everything, but sometimes these things happen. So Ms. Laura Okra, we donated some tickets for benefit and she won those. And Ms. Laura, we were. You and I were just messaging two days ago about how you're going to get your tickets. You show up at the door, your name would be on the list. We. I'm going to contact you directly and I'll venmo you the cash back for whatever it is that you paid for those tickets for that benefit. So I hate it.
Will from IQ Bar
Y'.
Woody Overton
All, you got plenty of time with the Hampton to cancel your rooms and. And all that. You can actually do it up to 24 hours in advance in flights and all that. And I hate it. But we have the full list of everybody that's purchased tickets. And when I do another live show, the you will get 50% off of your tickets if you choose to. Still, if you choose to purchase again, come and remember this. Out of 14 times, this is the only time I really had to do it other than the when the House blues forced my hand when we sold out and I found that they were charging an extra $30 a ticket or something. I canceled that and apologize. I hate it. But is. It's, you know, it's sad. I was looking forward to seeing everybody but the it's got to happen y'. All and I'll explain later on. So that being said, money's coming back. I apologize. I love and appreciate each and every one of you. It won't be your last. And you'll get 50% off. If you already purchased your ticket and you have to have your money refunded, you will have first shot at the next tickets that go on sale. And real life requirements will give you 50% off whatever the ticket costs are. All right, so let's get down to some true crime time for June 17th, this Wednesday. And on this day in 1933, Vernon Miller, Adam Richetti and Charles Arthur Pretty Boy Floyd opened fire on officers in an attempt to free Frank Nash from their custody. After extensive planning, the trio parked near the officer's car where Nash would be placed. And then they opened fire with machine guns. Y', all, you see the. The gangster movies and they have these tommy guns. They're. They're 45 caliber fully automatic machine guns with the. The round barrel Drum on them, you could use, could order those out of Sears and Roebuck catalog or from any general store. There were no restrictions on them. And then of course, that was the gun of choice for these outlaws. So that's what they did. They opened the fire with the machine guns, with the tommy guns. And two officers, Grooms and Hermanson, were instantly killed. An FBI agent, Caffrey, Chief Reed and Nash himself were also killed before the gunman escaped. And Agent Smith and Lackey as well as Space Special Agent Bertelli all survived the attack. Well, it was the wild, wild west, right? 1933, you know, was the height of outlaws running really before the all the law enforcement agencies started collaborating together to stop this interstate crime. And Pretty Boy Floyd, well, they killed a whole bunch of people trying to get you out, homie. So that being said, I didn't even know, and this is not a political show, but I didn't know that they even had the UFC fights this past weekend at the White house. Evidently Shane McBride had messaged me, said are you watching a fight tonight? I hadn't been keeping up with it and so I naturally I wasn't watching it. The but listening to this, this just came out. It said the FBI and its law enforcement partners disrupted an alleged plot targeting this past weekend's UFC Freedom 250 event in Washington D.C. in this court of Fox News Digital, five people were in custody as of Monday and investigators identified 23 people as part of a potential network of plotters. Now let the alleged plan involve using explosive laden drones to hit buildings near the event, then force a mass evacuation and steer crowds toward a pre stage sniper team. Right, so we're going to set off these bombs, make you run because you're going, I told you nothing clears the room or parking lot or whatever like a crowd. Like a little gunfire, but explosions. Yeah. And so everybody's going to run, be evacuated one way and then they're waiting with snipers to kill you all. They said. A second wave was then allegedly planned to storm the White House gate. The FBI first learned of the threat on June 10 and worked for partners to secure probable cause for an arrest in Cincinnati where one suspect was taken into custody. Investigators later uncovered signal chats in which. I guess that's one of those app shows in which multiple people allegedly discuss attacking the UFC event. In the initial review of one suspect's iPhone identified at least 23 Signal users discussing pre operational activity. Right. I mean loose lips sink ships. That many people, somebody's gonna fuck up and spill the beans. But some of those involved allegedly plan to travel to Fredericksburg, Virginia on June 12th or or the 13th to prepare for the attack. One suspect allegedly told investigators the goal was to target capitalist elites, billionaires or politicians who receive donations from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. I don't even know what that is. But the investigation stretched across at least 12 FBI field offices. FBI Director Cash Patel credited the FBI and the Department of Justice and law enforcement partners with acting quickly across multiple states to prevent the alleged attack. Said thanks to the rapid action of the FB this FBI, our partners in the Department of Justice in a multi state operation, multiple individuals are now in custody and allegedly planned attacks were stopped cold. That's what Patel said. Patel said the operation showed the FBI's ability to respond quickly when threats emerge. And while the result represented the best of our investigative work, it was also nothing out of the ordinary for this law enforcement team. We were built to detect, respond to and bring to justice those who threaten the lives of American citizens, particularly during large gatherings like the historic UFC 250 fight. And that's exactly what we did here, he said. I want to thank our great agents partners. This work remains ongoing and we will continue to update the public as permitted. You know, the alleged plot targeted the UFC Freedom250, which was a high profile White House event held on the South Lawn as part of the President Donald Trump's 80th birthday weekend. I didn't, didn't you know it was his birthday? The event drew an estimated 4300 attendees, including about 1200 active duty service members, as 14 fighters from around the world competed inside a wire mesh cage Sunday night. The alleged plot comes amid a growing series of threats and security incidents involving Trump and senior administration officials, fueling heightened concerns about political violence. Well, you know what, not a political show, but let me tell you this. Them the, the you know, best laid plans of mice and men, y'. All. It could have just as easy been somebody on the other end of the political spectrum planning this mass attack. I mean the gonna fly in drones and set off bombs and run you through like cattle and just mow you down. It's not right, people. I mean what. Wtf, what's it come to? I don't get it. I don't understand and I know y' all get tired of hearing me say that, but I really don't get that. Not because it's Trump or the, you know, the White House or whatever. It could have been something in Seattle. What about like NFL games that are coming up? What about baseball games Major League Baseball? What about basketball? Anything. Concerts. I mean, this is. This is the state that we're in. And again, that's why I don't do anymore. And this doesn't have anything to do by cancel the live show on July 18th. But the. I mean, it could, right? I mean, they. They could have killed a whole bunch of lifers, and that's not going to happen. So I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. Don't get it. The. I don't know. So there you have it. And by the way, I do like to watch UFC fights. Shane. I just didn't know they were going or had too much going on about it. I don't know. Just leave it like that. All right, let's take a dumb criminal moment here. It's time for Dum Dum in the court, and we're going to go to Florida. All right? And you know, DWIs, DUIs, driving while intoxicated, driving under influence, whatever. The. Yeah, not good. And. But if you do it repeatedly, it's really not good. I mean, and you've been arrested before for. And you do it again, it's not good. But the Louisiana, I think, is like one of the only states that doesn't have an open container law. Like, if you got an open can of beer, I don't know, maybe they changed that, too. So. But I might be speaking out of turn. But the. This guy in Florida was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a Florida trooper stopped him for speeding more than 90 miles per hour on Interstate 75 in Pasco County. They got a call that sounded completely legit, with the caller acting professional, creating urgency, and trying to get personal information. Thankfully, we called it before anything happened, but it honestly shook all of us because you realize how easy it would be for somebody you love to get caught off guard for just one moment. And that's what makes this stuff so scary today. These scammers are smart, they're convincing, and they're targeting families every single day. Families lost $12.5 billion last year to fraud. What if nobody cares? What if we put everything we have into it and it goes nowhere? But sometimes you just gotta take that leap of faith. Well they stop and usually you get a Miami speed and you're gonna get them out anyway. And they. You ride in your porch, you smell the odor of alcoholic beverages because technically alcohol doesn't have a smell. And that would have happened. And you can take a quick scan inside the car, make sure there's no bad guys with guns and all that. Well, they took this quick scan inside the car and guess what? They found dozens of open alcohol containers inside the vehicle. Now this traffic stop happened on i75 near the 280 mile marker in Pasco county. Authorities said the trooper was patrolling northbound when a Honda Civic passed patrol vehicle at speeds exceeding 90 miles per hour. All right, tip for y'. All. And I did. I I've had it actually happen to me one time I was, I was driving in the ham what I call the hammer lane, the fast lane in my marked police cruiser. And here coming comes this big long Lincoln, big enough you could just one of Those old timey 80s cars where you could land an airplane on top of it. That's how long it is. And I'll look over in the slow lane and here comes this lady and she just blows my doors. And so I pulled her over and it was an elderly lady and I mean she. I probably was speeding y' all and she smoked me, right? And so I had to stop her. It was broad daylight and I stopped her. And in your. Her deal was she was on the way to the casino. So the pretty much just told her to slow down because I didn't write tickets. But the. So this troopers patrolling along in a Honda Civic smokes his doors, blows his doors off at over 90 miles an hour. What do you think happens next? The trooper initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver who is identifies 33 year old Connor William Paraday of San Antonio, Florida, not Texas. During the counter the trooper said parody allegedly appeared to be heavily intoxicated. You think how intoxicated do you have to be to pass a trooper at 90 miles an hour when you drink? I mean you got to be hammered. And troopers discovered 34 open alcohol containers inside the vehicle during the stop. I'm pretty sure that says 34 beers. And that's why he missed the trooper going 90 miles an hour. The order said the trooper's observations during the stop Led to a DUI investigation and Parody was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked in the Pasco County Jail. So I don't know that but he took the the blood alcohol test or they gave it to him and he was a 0.177. And of course the legal limit is 0.08. I don't know, I mean I don't know how up you have to be to do that. And I can tell you 0.177 is that effed up. Now I've told you one night I did it when I was off duty a drink as much beer as I could in like two hours and went blue on the machine and I blew point point one four four, something like that. I was big back then. I was like 275 over 100 pounds heavier than I am now. So there you have it. If you're going to drink 34 beers or whatever you were drinking, first of all don't drink a drive. Secondly, don't blow a trooper doors off. Right? Crazy. It's time for worldwide crime y'. All. We're going across the pond as they say, right. And it said a shocking knife attack has left a 15 year old boy fighting for his life after he was stabbed in broad daylight on a busy street. The boy was on Ilford Lane in I'm assuming, I'm saying that right. Tommy Cox if Ilford Ilford Lane in ilford shortly before 4:55pm on Saturday and it's a busy road line with shops and homes and that's where the attack took place. L a 17 year old boy since been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and he's in custody. Ilford Lane was closed by police as officer salt evidence at the crime scene after the teenager was rushed to a major trauma center by paramedics. Cops threw up a cordon between A118 Winston Way and Grains Road for well over 24 hours following the attack. Because of forensic teams and investigators came in to work the site Seems like kind of long for a stabbing but officers are now appealing for any witnesses to the stabbing to come forward. A Met police spokesperson said. Around 4:55pm on Saturday, June 13, officers attended Ilford Lane Ilford following reports of a stabbing. Police attended yeah, an American that would be arrived or showed up. Police attended with the London ambulance service. A 15 year old boy was treated at the scene for stab injuries. He was taken to a hospital where he remains in life threatening condition. A 17 year old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He was taken into police custody where he remains. And they're asking anybody who was witnessed to call it in. The London Ambulance Service spokesperson said, we were called on Saturday, June 13 at 4:51pm to reports of a stabbing. We sent resources including ambulance crews, advanced paramedic practitioners, an incident response officer in London's air ambulance. We treated teenagers seen before taking them to London and major trauma center and hopefully that boy will live. It just goes to show you, you don't need a firearm to kill somebody. Right. And there you have it. Wow. This next door is just kind of just messed up. We're going to Mississippi and you know, as an officer, sometimes you have to make split second decisions and especially when it comes to this, just discharging your firearm. And you always pray that training is correct and you hit what you're aiming at and stuff like that. Well, I tell you about one that is the exact opposite of everything I just said. And one Mississippi and a child was killed after an officer fired upon a vehicle following a reported shoplifting at a Walmart in Mississippi. An adult was also critically injured in the shooting, which occurred Sunday afternoon outside of Walmart in Senatobia. And it's according to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, basically that's their state trooper Shaw. But law enforcement officers who respond to a shoplifting call at the Walmart encountered two adults allegedly fleeing from the store with a child and going into a vehicle. They said officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver drove in the direction of the officers, almost striking one. And they noted that the information is preliminary, said an officer then discharged their weapon and the vehicle fled the scene. All right, not throwing shade on them. That serves split second decision. But the, and, and you know, somebody's gonna run me down in a car, I probably would fire at them too, but they had a kid, man, and, and I mean they were carrying the kid out. Shoplifting. It's not mass murder. It's not these trying to blow up the White House or whatever. There might been a chance where Woody would have said let that go get the license plate, we'll run them down. Right. Well, didn't happen. So in this case, I said the individuals in the vehicle went to a local hospital where the child was pronounced dead and one of the adults also had critical injuries. Authorities did not provide further details on the shooting victims or including the age of the child that was killed. The Senatobia Police Department and the Tate County Sheriff's Office were involved in the shooting incident. According to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, which did not provide details on the officer who discharged the weapon or how many times a gun was fired. No officers were seriously injured and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating the shooting and will ultimately share his finding with the State's Attorney's General's office. They said this is an open and ongoing investigation. No further comment will be made at this time. And y', all. Sen. Toby is located in northwestern Mississippi about 40 miles south of Memphis, Tennessee. And this, this shooting occurred in broad daylight and just after 2pm on Sunday. The of course senator is saying they're, they're committed to full transparency and all that and the investigation is in progress and blah blah, blah. Yeah, well you know what the other thing is? Walmart spokesperson said they're working with law enforcement in the investigation and they're sad about what took place to the store, et cetera. But here's the deal. Walmart's got more cameras and casinos and they're going to have it all. And you know just being honest, it's in policy procedures the ones I've, I've had to sign that you're not supposed to shoot at a meeting moving vehicle but we'll see it happens I guess and, and prayers for that baby that those that were shoplifting I hate a thief and they got the ultimately they hadn't been doing that the kid wouldn't be in kill and I'm not saying the cop was right for shooting the shoplifters but it is what it is. Hi. We're gonna roll out to Lake County, Florida. It's time for family matters. And a Lake county judge has sentenced a 35 year old man to life in prison without the chance of parole for the 2019 shooting that left a Mascoti4 father dead. Judge Carrie F. Rada handed down the punishment to Alexandria Agalar. The courtroom heard several emotional statements from the victim's family before the prosecution and defense gave their final arguments. And a jury had already convicted agar back on April 22 of second degree murder with a firearm as well as aggravated batter with a firearm. Along with the life sentence for the murder charge, the judge tacked on a mandatory minimum of 25 years for the battery charge. Now a cruise. The mother of the 35 year old victim, one Raymond Cruz spoke directly about the last and damage the crime calls. She said I did something no mother should have done that night and that was see my son for the very last time in a body bag. His death devastated our family and now my two young granddaughters and his daughters will have to grow up without their dad. So tell you about the case real quick. This case dates back to violent night in June of 2019 and Muscotti Police officers answered a call about a shooting and found Cruise unresponsive in the street. He was pronounced dead right there at the scene and paramedics also treated a second victim who had been shot in the knee. Now, while getting medical help, their surviving victim told police that Aguilar fire the shots and then drove away in a black Ford F350 pickup truck. Witnesses explained the detectives that a group of friends was hanging out and drinking when Aguilar arrived with his own friends. A physical fight broke out between Aguilar and Cruz and another witness stepped in and managed to break it up. But instead of leaving things alone, Aguilar had had to do what he did. He walked out to the front yard, grabbed a weapon and fired toward both victims before he ran like a little Lake County Sheriff's office stepped in to help the investigation and quickly put out a BOLO for the the black truck. Deputies in su counter county spotted the vehicle and noticed bullet holes alongside and pulled it over. They found Aguilar sitting in the passenger seat detaining for question. After being read his rights, Aguilar admitted he pulled the trigger and he tried to argue he shot the men in self defense. But the jury rejected the claim during the trial and Assistant State Attorney Edward Moffitt successfully prosecuted the case. Leading to this dude getting a fatal, not fatal, getting a license. Yeah, it will be fatal because he's gonna die in prison. So hey y', all, you're listening to a show about the darkest corners of human behavior. Potential savings will vary. Happens all the time. This the story I'm about to tell y' all from Clinton. Same shit, same, almost exactly the same thing. But stay tuned for that one, Y'. All. You know they have rules, custom rules, you know, if you got anything over $10,000, you got to claim it. You have to fill out the little cards on the planes before you get off and all that stuff. Well, they have that for a reason, obviously to, you know, slow down the illegal carrying of cash from narcotic sales or whatever. So we're going to go to Philadelphia and tell you about a dude who now is $44,690 lighter in his wallet and the traveler on the international journey journey recently had a substantial amount of his cash confiscated by the US Customs and Border Protection. And they announced on that on April 30, a canine train and detecting bulk currency alerted the agency to a 54 year old man who's departing from Mexico at the Philadelphia International Airport. Huge problem, y'. All. The, the money, the dope comes this way, the money's got to go that away. And you, I know y' all heard stories about they have so much cash that the rats are eating and stuff like that, but you got to get your cash, I guess. So here's back to what I was telling you earlier. They asked him, he carrying any money? Yeah. And he admitted, yeah, I'm carrying 10,000 in cash, which is legal, right? Until they searched him and the officers uncovered $44,690 in cash hidden in his pockets and carry on luggage. Now the man who's a naturalized citizen originally from Peru, was permitted to leave for humanitarian purposes with $240 after they took the rest of his Right. They said this traveler concealed currency in multiple locations for the purpose of evading federal currency reporting laws. But no amount of concealment can hide bulk currency customers and board protection officers and especially from a K9 nitro in this. According to area Port Director Elliot Ortiz. They said we are quickly approaching the busy summer travel season and the CBP urges travelers to truthfully report all currency they possess to a CBP officer during an inspection or face severe consequences, as this traveler learned. But what he learned is he just lost $44,690 worth of cartel money and they're going to kill his ass. CBP revealed its officers and agents confiscated an average of $180,000 in unreported or illicit currency daily at the nation's borders during the fiscal year 2025. 180 grand. Can you imagine how much they don't get? Millions, right? They said there are restrictions on how much undeclared cash you can transport into or out of the United States. And now look, if he had been flying to Vegas or 10 buck 2 in the United States, there's no limit. You could carry $44 million in cash on you inside the United States. You have to tell anybody Dick, right? Well the, that's not the same when you are coming into the country or leaving the country and yeah, well, you know, if you're traveling with a million dollars cash and, and you get stopped even though you're in the United States, you're flying let' Denver, they're, they're still going to ride your ass, right? They're going to, you know, where'd you get your money from? Stuff like that. But it's not illegal. So the, what is the amount of cash you can travel with internationally to and from the US I already told you that the travelers are required to report amounts of over $10,000 to Customs and Border protection officer when entering or exiting the United States and fill out the currency reporting form additionally. And then international travelers arriving in the country, whatever, they got to fill out a bunch of forms. We all know that the. You. But here's what I found interesting with what counts as. As money. Right? You would think I'm, I'm thinking all about greenbacks, but it's paper money and coins. Travelers checks. You wouldn't think that cashier's checks. How about this one? Promissory notes. So if your Uncle Juan and you're going to go see him in Mexico and you're carrying him a promissory note for $10,001 then they go take So, I mean, I don't know. But the promissory notice probably wasn't any good anyway. Right? Owe you. But listen to this. If you get caught carrying $10,001 or more and you don't declare it, you get up to 10 years imprisonment. So a year for every thousand dollars and they confiscate the confiscation of all currency or monetary instrument and a fine up to $500,000. Well, and then you do it and you bring it back down south to the cartel. They're going to want you to answer for it. That's just a fact. So. All right, let me try to find one, a good one to end it on. Lord, that's getting hard these days. This may not be like a super happy one, but it's definitely going to be different and not as harsh as the rest. Beast mode going to Lakeland, Florida. And if y' all don't know, that's the home of one of my favorite sheriffs, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd in Lakeland, Florida. In early June, a stray cat tested positive for rabies after a series of unprovoked attacks that left five people and a puppy injured in a north Lakeland neighborhood. Now the incidents took place around the Glen Road area and the cat was part of a stray colony fed by 31 year old Angelica Perez, who told investigators she regular names and feeds animals roaming through her neighborhood. The animal attacked a total of five people and a and a dog before it was found dead. One victim, who's a 29 year old man, was bitten on the legs without warning while at Perez's property. A 33 year old woman had the cat jump into her lap at a neighbor's house and bite her finger. When she went to wash the cut with a garden hose. The cat lunged from under the home and went after her legs, forcing her to defend herself with a baseball bat. I guess you get bit in the finger, you pick up a baseball bat in case the cat comes back, right? Other victims included three children which was 16 year old girl was bitten on the knee when she tried to play with the cat. And a nine year old girl was bitten on a leg outside her home. A 13 year old boy was taking out the trash at the end of his driveway when the cat ran across the street and attacked him. And neighbors also witnessed the cat attacking a four month old puppy in Prez's yard. Guess who's only only person who wasn't bitten? Perez said. Hey, you know what? I'm gonna play this because I hope Sheriff Judge is on here because he's always funny as hell. Let me just see if I can play this for y'. All. Nothing funny about people getting bit by a rabbit cat, by the way. But also tonight, five people and a puppy were attacked by a rabid cat in North Lakeland. It happened earlier this month, and the Polk County Sheriff's office cited a woman for feeding the stray cat and not having it vaccinated recently. It's Marilyn Parker live in Tampa tonight. Marilyn, the cat is dead now, and the people you spoke with, they're pretty scared about this.
Marilyn Parker
Absolutely. We learned that the cat was brought here to the state laboratory for testing. They did confirm this cat had rabies, and the sheriff's office believes that this was the cat involved in those five attacks. Now, we also know officials are working together on the multiple rabies exposures. But those neighbors tell me, look, this was quite the scare.
Woody Overton
Fiddler disease that can be prevented but not cured.
Marilyn Parker
Thomas Parker shows us the flyer sent out by the health department warning neighbors of a rabid cat in the area of Glen Road in Lakeland.
Woody Overton
I know that there are cats around here and usually they're pretty docile, so this is unusual.
Marilyn Parker
Ashley Clark says she called animal control last week after learning one of her neighbors was bit.
Woody Overton
There were three, at least three people that were attacked that the couple days before that.
Marilyn Parker
The Polk County Sheriff's office runs animal control. Sheriff Grady Judge says the stray cat was one of many cats fed by one woman.
Woody Overton
People who feed stray cats mean well, but you're adding to the problem. Cats roam free. And as a result, this one cat attacked five different people, three of them children, and attacked a puppy.
Marilyn Parker
We tried speaking with one of the neighbors attacked, but they didn't want to talk. Clark says she wants to see the county get involved in preventing this from happening again. The sheriff's office sent us photos of these victims who were bit.
Woody Overton
They've got to go through some horrible shots, rabies shots for the next period of time in order to make sure that they don't get that deadly disease.
Marilyn Parker
Judd says this is the fourth or fifth rabies case so far that this summer, and residents want it to be under control. I'm sure you don't want any rabbit cats rolling around here.
Woody Overton
No, I know.
Marilyn Parker
Now the Street Cat Project of Polk county advocates for programs like trap, neuter, vaccine, vaccinate and release. And they say they've been bringing this matter to the county's attention for a year now. So they sent us a statement that reads in part, we are still overrun with free roaming cats, mass low cost sterilization is the only proven strategy. Those cats are then also vaccinated with a three year rabies vaccine to put a barrier of protection between humans and rabid wildlife. Now, the woman that fed the cat, she could also be even sued by the people who were injured and also have those medical bills. We do not know right now if any of those victims have actually contracted rabies. We're live in Tampa tonight. Marilyn Parker, eight on your side.
Woody Overton
Hey, let me tell you something. I remember cases where people were bitten by wild animals and like one dog I had to shoot because it actually attacked me and it had to be sent to LSU vet school to be tested for rabies. Had it come back that it had rabies. This is I'm talking about 30 years ago. I'm sure they've improved on the shots. I think it was a series of eight different shots. I would have had to have it into my stomach. And I know some of you lifers out there are medical professionals and I'm sure it's changed or maybe I'm misspeaking, but I distinctly remember them telling me if it comes back, you got to have eight different shots into your stomach. Let's look that up real quick.

Episode Title: UFC Terror Plot, Deadly Shoplifting Shooting & Rabid Cat Attacks
Host: Woody Overton
Date: June 17, 2026
In this high-octane episode of True Crime Time For, Woody Overton covers a series of headline-grabbing crime stories from the U.S. and abroad, balancing his signature gritty perspectives with moments of levity. The episode features accounts of a foiled terror plot targeting a UFC event at the White House, a deadly police-involved shooting after a shoplifting incident in Mississippi, a spree of rabid cat attacks in Florida, and several other bizarre or tragic crime updates. Woody also addresses the rare cancellation of a live show and shares classic storytelling on dumb criminals, touchy legal procedures, and the quirks of border cash reporting.
[04:07 – 06:50]
“Out of 14 times, this is the only time I really had to do it...I hate it. But, you know, sometimes these things happen.” —Woody
[06:50 – 09:10]
[09:10 – 16:05]
“Best laid plans of mice and men, y’all. It could have just as easy been somebody on the other end of the political spectrum planning this mass attack…Fly in drones, set off bombs, and run you through like cattle and just mow you down. It’s not right, people. I mean, what. Wtf, what’s it come to?” —Woody [12:48]
[16:05 – 23:30]
“How intoxicated do you have to be to pass a trooper at 90 miles an hour when you drink? I mean, you got to be hammered.” [21:00]
[24:30 – 27:40]
“It just goes to show you, you don’t need a firearm to kill somebody. Right. And there you have it. Wow.” —Woody
[27:40 – 32:54]
“Not throwing shade on them. That serves split-second decision. But…they had a kid, man…Shoplifting, it’s not mass murder…There might have been a chance where Woody would have said, ‘let that go, get the license plate, we’ll run them down.’ Right. Well, didn’t happen.” [29:10]
[32:54 – 37:07]
“I did something no mother should have done that night and that was see my son for the very last time in a body bag.” [34:00]
[41:19 – 46:17]
“But what he learned is he just lost $44,690 worth of cartel money and they’re going to kill his ass.”
[46:17 – 61:08]
“People who feed stray cats mean well, but you’re adding to the problem. Cats roam free. And as a result, this one cat attacked five different people, three of them children, and attacked a puppy.”
—Sheriff Grady Judd [58:44]
“I remember them telling me if it comes back, you got to have eight different shots into your stomach.” —Woody [60:19]
On the UFC Terror Plot:
“They could have killed a whole bunch of lifers, and that’s not going to happen…could have just as easy been at a major NFL game or a concert…What’s it come to?” [15:00]
On DUI Dumb Crimes:
“Don’t drink and drive. Secondly, don’t blow a trooper’s doors off.” [23:15]
On Senatobia Shooting:
“It is what it is…prayers for that baby…shoplifting ain’t worth a life.” [32:54]
On Legal Pitfalls at the Border:
“If you get caught carrying $10,001 or more and you don’t declare it, you get up to 10 years imprisonment. So a year for every thousand dollars…” [45:20]
Woody signs off with apologies for the show cancelation, assurance of refunds and future discounts, and a reminder for listeners to stay alert to the crazy reality that makes “Real Life Real Crime” endlessly relevant:
"Love and appreciate each, every one of y’all. Thank you for liking, listening and sharing…show’s not going to go on right? And we’ll leave it at that…Peace." —Woody Overton [61:10]
