Hey, everybody, it's Cindy again with another pickup for today's episode. Yesterday we had video difficulties and today we had audio difficulties. So you will hear this audio like it's from a distance. That is because I'm actually using the video audio to compose this episode. And the new equipment had a high ringing noise in it, and I am working with the manufacturer to get that adjusted. But in the meantime, I am sorry for the audio as it is. I promise, promise you it's a work in progress and it will get better. But thank you for listening. Thank you for your patience. As businesses say when they are doing remodeling while they're still open and they have a sign that says, pardon us as we grow, that's kind of where we're at right now. So thank y' all so much and.
Woody
Hello everybody, and welcome to this episode of True Crime time for Tuesday, June 3rd. And I'm Woody Overton.
Cindy Overton
I'm Cindy Overton, y' all.
Woody
In case you forgot, the year is 2025.
Cindy Overton
Boy, what did you.
Woody
I wasn't listening.
Cindy Overton
I was looking at the bars.
Woody
Nobody Else say that. Right. And. But I didn't say it this time. Oh, okay. Saying it now. And you know, here we are again in the mystery of. Right. Yeah. Video going on, all that good stuff, new equipment, everything else. So y' all, Summertime is upon us. We were rolling.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody
And it is what it is. And they got some shitty people out there. You know that. Right. You want to tell you about something? I don't think you know about this yet. You want to tell you about it? Yeah, I mean, well, this is, this is just checks off all our asshole categories.
Cindy Overton
Oh, okay.
Woody
Racism, murder, violence, stupidity, whatever. You know what it is?
Cindy Overton
I have no idea.
Woody
Yeah. Going up to Boulder, Colorado.
Cindy Overton
Oh yeah.
Woody
Boulder, Colorado, y' all. There's a horrible horror story and a heartspout to all the victims and racism. Racism or whatever. I guess this is racism. Anyway, they do. It's a terrorist act happened in Boulder, Colorado which is most famous, infamously known for who. What case? Do you know?
Cindy Overton
Oh, gosh, please. I hate it when you put me on the spot like that. I'm thinking what to say. Oh yeah, JonBenet me.
Woody
So y' all, they had the terror attack. They say it's suspected terror attack is terrorist attack. And they, they got a dude, I'm like, just stay with me, I'm going to read you something. So they got a guy who did it and I'll tell you about that act in a minute. And his name is Muhammad Savory Solomon. And he's got murder charges now, assault charges and other charges. And the FBI is calling it a targeted terror attack in Boulder, Colorado which happened this weekend. So it was this Sunday, this past Sunday. The they had a group of pro Israel people who are advocating for Hamas to release it ISRA Israeli hostages. And at this gathering, this did what he did and it left eight people ages 52 to 88 with injuries including one in critical condition at and so police responded to the area after receiving reports of a man with a weapon setting people one fire. Yeah. Solomon was charged with murder, the first degree deliberation with intent, murder in the first degree, extreme indifference crimes against at risk adults and the elderly, first degree assault, non family first degree assault, heat of passion, criminal attempt to commit Class 1 and Class 2 felonies and use of explosives or incinerated license during a felony. Now Solomon, guess what? He's also in the United States illegally. Well, so anyway, the. The Boulder Police Department confirmed Monday that no victims had died. So the murder charges. I said murder, but I'm pretty sure was going to Die. That's why they have these murder charge in there. And Solomon was booked into the Boulder County Jail and this asshole, he's got a $10 million bond. They said we are aware of and fully investigating a targeted terror attack in Boulder, Colorado. This FBI director Cash Patel said our agents and local law enforcements are. Local law enforcement are on the scene already and we will share updates as more information becomes available. Solomon, who's 45, was arrested and taken to the hospital with minor injuries after his attack on the run for their alliance group. That was a gathering on Pearl Street Sunday night. That's like people, you know, they have run these running groups, they raise money, right?
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody
Well, this group is a grassroots organization that facilitates global run and walk events calling for the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas. This particular chapter of the group meets on a weekly basis. Solomon was yelling free Palestine during the attack, which was near the county courthouse on Pearl Street. Now, FBI Deputy director Dan Longino said the attack is being investigated as an act of ideologically motivated violence is and this is based on off early information, evidence and witness accounts. Now, Solomon, this first arrived in the US after landing at Los Angeles International Airport on August 27, 2022 with a non immigrant visa. He was authorized to stay through February 2nd of 2023. But he never left. Imagine that. When. I mean, why don't he go back to where he's from.
Cindy Overton
Exactly.
Woody
And do some there. So Solomon was using a makeshift flamethrower. Right. And again the. In the news release, Boulder police said the tags aimed at a group of individuals and witnesses report that the suspect used a makeshift flamethrower through an incendiary device into the crowd. And that's when he was heard. TL Free Palestine. During the attack, this group of individuals were walking like I told you in the regularly scheduled weekly peaceful event. This is according to CBS News and CBS News is also reporting that those injured were taking part in the march in support of Israeli hostage assignment. FBI officials. You can cut off whatever you can see.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody
So they injured were taken to Denver metro hospitals and the victims include four men, four women, age 52 to 88. Again, the Boulder Police Department notified the FBI requested their assistance within minutes of the attack. And they said they're grateful for their partnership and their assistance. And again, according to CBS News cited FBI official the suspect through molotov cocktails plural that burned multiple victims in. The FBI says we stand in full solidarity with those targeted and we will continue to ensure that justice is pursued swiftly. Support is provided to victims and their communities and preventative action is taken to protect everyone's safety. We stand in full solidarity with those targeted. And that's according to FBI Denver Special Agent Charles Mark Michalak. And he said we will continue to ensure that justice pursued swiftly support is providing victims of communities and preventive actions taken and protect their point of safety. But anyway, y' all. It sucks. Indeed's an asshole. And many fired up a book because they were Jewish and they want. I mean that's where I guess they.
Cindy Overton
Put in their ideology like they put in their statement. But it's not genocide.
Woody
I don't know.
Cindy Overton
I. I feel so ignorant on certain things like this.
Woody
I mean it's like. It'd be like the Nazis attacking the Jews. Whatever.
Cindy Overton
That was genocide with the Nazis.
Woody
The genocide. When you try to kill a whole race.
Cindy Overton
Well that's what with the numbers trying to kill.
Woody
I know, but kill 6 million of them. This is. I'm.
Cindy Overton
But you just said it's like Hitler when.
Woody
Blah blah, blah.
Cindy Overton
That's when I said that.
Woody
Okay. It. It's. Whatever it is, it's up ism and shouldn't have happened. That dude, you know, I hated for these victims being burned. That's. That's the one way I don't want to go.
Cindy Overton
No.
Woody
And. And it's horrible. And I don't get it. Him. And. And prayers go out to all the people. Y' all. This is not a political or religious show or whatever. This. It's attack against a religion, basically. Yeah. But whatever it is, it is. It's up. Shouldn't happen. This is America. You should be able to walk the free and demonstrate peacefully without being harassed or murdered.
Cindy Overton
I know.
Woody
You got to give us something else.
Cindy Overton
This is horrible. Well, we're gonna go to North Carolina. I'm go. I have two stories from North Carolina.
Woody
Yeah. One from North Carolina.
Cindy Overton
Yes, I think I did too. Morganton, N.C. and a 26 year old young lady, her name was Brandy Deal. She was pregnant and she was a mother of three. She was brutally murdered in her own home hours before giving birth.
Woody
Wow.
Cindy Overton
Yeah. Hours before she was due to give birth.
Woody
Pregnant. Murdered.
Cindy Overton
Literally. And so due to give birth. I'm assuming she had a scheduled something, you know, because who knows. But the crime occurred in 2023 when Dylan Rogers, who's 32, opened fire on Dill's trailer from a moving vehicle. And the vehicle was driven by a woman, a 52 year old woman named Tammy Duckworth Boone.
Woody
Nice.
Cindy Overton
And the motive was reportedly a quote unquote personal dispute Those specific details have not been disclosed by authorities. Dill's boyfriend called 91 1, reporting that someone was in cardiac arrest. And deputies arrived to find Deal had been shot multiple times. Despite efforts, both she and her unborn child were pronounced dead at the scene. Rogers was arrested five days later and following a two week trial, was convicted of second degree murder and murder of an unborn child. He received a life sentence without the possibility of parole. North Carolina. Mm.
Woody
Hold on, hold on one second. Does North Carolina have a death penalty? I found this on the web. Does North Carolina have the death penalty? If it didn't, I found this on the web. See, they used to. And let's go all the way up to 2022. They. They were challenging the method which you're selected already. Process death qualification, blah, blah, blah. They started 19. 1973. They reinstated it.
Cindy Overton
Yeah. You said you were going to start asking it a different question. Because it's one thing to have the death penalty and another thing to actually.
Woody
Right. Use it. Yeah. When's the last time you used it? But I don't know. I mean, killing a pregnant mom.
Cindy Overton
I mean, my gosh.
Woody
So woman. But he got a life. I guess so.
Cindy Overton
Yes.
Woody
Whatever.
Cindy Overton
And without the possibility of parole.
Woody
Yeah. Still, he needs to be murdered.
Cindy Overton
Boone, which was the driver of the vehicle, was initially charged with murder and had those charges dismissed by Burke County Superior Court. She pleaded guilty to discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling from a moving vehicle and obstruction of justice, resulting in a minimum sentence of 55 months in prison.

Woody
How? It's not even, what, six years?
Cindy Overton
No. District Attorney Scott Riley emphasized the gravity of the crime, stating, this is a quote, the defendant fired a shotgun into a home. Showing a. That's what it says.
Woody
No, I'm just saying.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody
In my mind, in fact, that's much worse than firing pistol or even a rifle shotgun. You're scattering. It's like firing 20 bullets at one time.
Cindy Overton
It's all the pellets right there. Yeah. Showing complete disregard for human life. All because he was angry over a personal dispute, he added that while no sentence can undo the loss, the verdict brings a measure of justice and closure to the victim's family.
Woody
I guess the victims had to agree upon it.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody
I don't know.
Cindy Overton
And I guess she and I. I'm kind of teetering on taken back. I wish that people would just plead guilty and not put people through the court because I, and I knew this when I said it. They end up getting a lesser sentence because it's a plea deal. But sometimes when it's the case of a kid, I don't want the kids to have to get up and.
Woody
Testify, the baby's dead, Mama's dead.
Cindy Overton
No, I'm saying in other, in other cases, when I say they, I wish they would just plead guilty, you know, and not make the kids go through the court battle or the court, the trial.
Woody
Let's go to Oregon. And this happened on Sunday, June 1st in Salem, Oregon. Downtown Salem, Oregon. You gotta wait till you hear this one. And guess what happened.
Cindy Overton
A shooting.
Woody
Nope. Multiple people have been injured after a mass stabbing incident in Oregon. On Sunday, June 1st at approximately 7:15pm local time, Salem Police Department officers respondents reports of multiple stabbing victims at the Union Gospel Mission, which is located 700 block of Commercial Street. Now, police spokesperson Angela Hedrick is the one that confirmed this to people. Hedrick said that 11 victims had been transported to the Salem Health for medical treatment, each with varying types of injuries. And she said that their status at present is unknown. Then cops thankfully got a male suspect in custody. Of course, police closed off the area following the incident. You know, they got to work on like a crime scene and they diverted all traffic away from the area. And according to NBC News, the stabbing occurred at the Union Gospel Mission Men's Missions homeless shelter. The the organization's new 50,000 square foot location opened in 2021. The shelter's executive director Craig Smith told NBC News in a phone interview that the suspect was new to the mission and had spent Saturday night there. They give him a free place to.
Cindy Overton
Stay and some food and a cot.
Woody
He was getting ready to check in for his next night on Sunday when he got into a fight and it said something set him off and he evidently had a knife in his bag. And at least one staff member was.
Woody Overton
Injured in the attack.
Woody
This coordinate Smith the director they were working the check in desk at the time and the fight occurred just before the man went to hand over his belongings. I guess you gotta turn your shit in so you can't get any dope or whatever right. They said we're sharing video with them. The director Smith told Embassy News.
Woody Overton
Hand.
Woody
Handing evidence over to the police. And they said the whole incident is on video. Can you imagine that stated that the homeless shelter is across from the Salem Police Department right across the street. So they said this is a very fresh incident and detectives are gathering the facts. And now a message from the Union Gospel Mission of Salem's website stated of the work that the organization does starting with meeting immediate needs like nourishing meals safe shelter. Not so much safe anymore. Union Gospel Mission with Salem seeks to restore dignity and hope by sharing the love and grace of Jesus Christ with those in the nation need which will ultimately help them break free from homelessness for good. Now the the doors first opened in June. Wow. This is crazy. Doors first opened to the original Union Gospel Mission of Salem in June of 1953 after a group of Christian businessmen had become concerned with the homeless men coming into the Willamount Valley for the harvest. I guess they're coming in as day workers right?
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody
Said upwards of 150 homeless men seek refuge with us each night. The this the new location is just a few blocks north of the old building. And that's it. I mean the. That's crazy. Yeah. You know I really really. I hate it for homeless people and I hate that their lives got to such a point and I had such strong emotions about that.
Cindy Overton
You do?
Woody
My heart goes out to him y' all. I know the you think Woody so hard ass. I'm calling for the death penalty and everything else. But you know what? I'm soft to you.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody
Because I know each one of those people has a story they Have a story.
Cindy Overton
And a lot of them are veterans.
Woody
That's exactly what I was going to say. But this one of the things. Things I was gonna say. Each one of them has a story. And I've dealt with a lot of them in cases. And some of them are just the best people in the world other than the dopers.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody
And not that all homeless people are diapers, because they're not.
Cindy Overton
No.
Woody
But when you see them out there in their whole world's in a shopping cart and. And you know, they're just sleeping in doorways and they line up for these free meals and like in Baton Rouge, they really. Every time it gets. We're about to get really, really, really cold, like the St. Francis mission, whatever it is that their guy gets some news every night. It's like this. How many beds we have and we have. Otherwise they're gonna freeze down.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody
But people give this example. I've given it before. When you and I were going to court in Houston, Texas. We had no money all over back then in a serious legal battle many, many years ago over the kids. And we were going to court. I don't know how in the hell we did it, but I didn't have any gas. And we had the kids with us. And it was rush hour and we were getting off the interstate to. On our exit. And as we're getting off the interstate, vehicle killed. And. And it coasted down into the intersection. Stopped in the middle of the intersection. Guess what? Homeless people came out from everywhere at the intersection and shove. Pushed us to a freaking gas station.
Cindy Overton
Before we could even get.
Woody
Like we even knew kind of what was going on.
Cindy Overton
You know what I mean?
Woody Overton
Right.
Woody
I mean, that's what I'm saying. Most of them are good people. A lot of them have mental health issues and stuff like that. And I hate it. And I. I have mad respect for these people that do these shelters and stuff. And, you know, some just stab a bunch of people, but. Stabbed a bunch of people.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody
And it just stabbed the dude you got a fight with.
Cindy Overton
Well, because others were probably trying to go stop it and he just would. I mean, I know. I know he did. Yeah.
Woody
And so. But I don't know. Prayers for the homeless people too. And I hate it. I hate it for them. Yeah. You know, you see it so much now everywhere you go. Every major city. Like when we were in San Diego and you were staying with Kate and the baby. W.L. and I were staying just because we got the room in the last minute. You know, that was a Decent enough hotel, but hell, you go outside and they got homeless people sleeping underneath the staircase.
Cindy Overton
Literally.
Woody
But the weather is nice there. So, you know, I guess they do whatever they do in the daytime and they sneak in sleeping behind dumpsters. This breaks my heart.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody
Especially the veterans. I do not believe any veteran should ever be homeless. You serve your country. You signed up and you were going to have a chance to die for your country. Country that the government should. Should give them a house or something, train them, do something. Yeah, I get off the horse.
Cindy Overton
That's a. Well, but that's a crime. It's a gross injustice.
Woody
It is horrible crime.
Cindy Overton
It is a horrible crime. And I got another horrible crime. And L. I don't know how to say. Lenor, North Carolina. There was a 1616 month old toddler named Maddie and she died on her first day of Creative Beginnings daycare, which was her first day at the daycare was May 19th of this year and she was found unresponsive after nap time and was pronounced dead at Caldwell UNC Health Care despite life saving efforts. Two days later, Alexandra Coffey, a 29 year old daycare employee, was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the incident.
Woody
Ras scary about the death penalty. No. Carolina.
Cindy Overton
She was taken into custody and released on a $500,000 bond.
Woody
How's a daycare worker have 50 grand put down for their 10% or 60 grand?
Cindy Overton
So follow. Following the incident, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services immediately suspended the facility's license, ordering for its closure and the the suspension decision was based on the agency's fine finding that the public health, safety and welfare requires emergency action. Maddie's mother told WBTV that it was her daughter's first day at daycare and that she got a call from the daycare informing her that her daughter never woke up from nap time. A probable cause hearing for coffee was scheduled for the beginning of the week and her attorney has not commented on the case. So we have no idea what happened to that poor little girl. I. I can't.
Woody
Shame on them. They don't have cameras. Yeah. Nowadays.
Cindy Overton
Right.
Woody
All right, let me lighten it up just a little bit if I can. This stupid story. The. We're going to see New York. Yeah. New York. People think you say New York and they just think New York City.
Cindy Overton
Yeah. You don't think.
Woody
My nephew lives up close to Fort Drum, which is where the Kimball Corps was, which I was in the army and it's up by the Canadian border and most of it's you know, mountains and.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody
And not city.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody
So they had these friends and they were going on. On a trip to New York City and run back high peaks. This is one of Memorial Day weekend. Right.
Cindy Overton
Okay.
Woody
You know, I'm hiking in the mountains. It's pretty mountains up there. It's not like the Rockies and Meaning that it's not that big.
Cindy Overton
Yeah. Not like scaling.
Woody
Right, Right. So the. Yeah. Didn't go so well for him. And according to a news release from the New York Department of Environmental Conservation, Forest ranger Pratt Kaleo, he got caught by the deceased hiker on Cascade mountain on Saturday, May 24th at the 9:00am Mother Time. Right. He's like, holy. Yeah. You rangers got to be kind of like security guards dead body. This is like best day of my career. You know, not.
Cindy Overton
I know what you mean.
Woody
You know, most exciting.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody
So what had happened is two hikers called 911 and they reported the third member of their hiking party had died. And when the two hikers encounter the Cascade Summer summit Stewart they also advised they were lost. Some of the guy responded, they're like, you know, our friend is dead. So. Cascade mountain is the 36th tallest of the Adirondack High peaks. And according to lakeplastic.com and alltrails.com describes the area as a challenging route that is very popular area for hiking and snowshoeing. So I said you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year round and it's beautiful to visit anytime. Well, not for their friends, but it wasn't the trail that caused problems was an animal. The park ranger, they're columnist here he meets with him and the 911 callers and he's talking to him. Remember they said they're lost, their friend had died and he, he. Oh, these two are up. You know what? They. They ate a bunch of shrooms.
Cindy Overton
Okay. Did they find them along the way?
Woody
I don't know. Listen, while I was talking to him and he said they were in an altered mental state when he started as up and they. And they admitted they ate hallucinogenic mushrooms.
Cindy Overton
And what's their friend actually did.
Woody
Medical news today explains on its website that psychobillin, which is hallucinogenic compound in certain mushrooms or magic mushrooms and that eating mushrooms that contain psychobillin can have various effects ranging from euphoria to hallucinations. Now this ranger, he's talking to him and he's realizing it up and they slipped up and talked about it. But he said he escorted two hikers who eat in the shrooms to wait in the ambulance and in New York State police unit. He's like, shit's going on down here. Let's see. Well wait, you ask what about their friend? Right? Well the, as for the, as for the third member of the party, the news release states they called and was not injured. They were escorted back to their campsite by the park ranger. So know that the third friend, he evidently did get fucked up on the mushrooms and he was separated from them, but he wasn't injured. These motherfuckers call 901 and say our friend was dead. Our friend was dead and we're lost and not enough now you were just up on the train.
Cindy Overton
I've never done shrooms, but I've heard some crazy stories from people that have done films.
Woody
This one could tell you stories about shroom fruit, but is not allowed. And I, I, but you know really like acid. There's kind of a difference, like the difference between LSD because it's chemical compound and, and the psychrodilin that is actually legal now. A lot of states.
Cindy Overton
Yeah. A lot of people micro dose on it.
Woody
Yeah. But thank being is like LSD just you hear about people getting on bad trips and what it does is just intensifies. Whenever you see feeling like a thousand times so you start laughing, you're going to piss yourself, right? And if you see them bright colors and you focus on that, they're going to be really bright, brilliant. Or you listen to music and you're going to get really, really into the song like that. If you go on a bad trip, if you get in a bad way like these think, oh God, we lost Billy. We lost Billy Joe. He must be dead. The booker must.
Cindy Overton
Oh my God. I, I've heard stories about one guy that used to trip really hard and people didn't want to be around him. When they did that, when they did that they wouldn't tell him that that's what they were going to do.
Woody
Yeah, it's legal now in a lot of states. Yeah. Who's to say drinking alcohol is any worse? I don't think but the, or not any worse, but it is what it is. Well, but if you eat a bunch of shrooms, maybe you need to tie yourself together if you're going hiking in the Viking wilderness. Maybe they were overcome by the colors of the mountains and all that, but they feel like jackasses now because we're talking about on true Crime time for cheese eggs.
Cindy Overton
Well the, I don't want to say the person's name, I haven't seen him in like 40 years. He would go out to his. Probably 30 years to his parents ranch and do them and just be like in an open field like for days. Because he did it in a house one time and he literally busted through a wall because he couldn't open the door. He could. He couldn't find the door. So he just literally thrust his body up against the wall until he busted through the sheetrock to get out of the room.
Woody
Yeah, let's call it a kid get away from himself.
Cindy Overton
Exactly.
Woody

Cindy Overton

Woody
Minneapolis.
Cindy Overton
So many of them and.
Woody
But I got to go to Monday Night Football there. It's a beautiful city and, you know, it really is just an amazing place. Well, not today. Officers found more than 100 people running for their lives in Minneapolis's Boom island Park on June 1, when gunfire erupted at a nighttime gathering. And so the shooting at the Minnesota park has left one woman dead and five men wounded. On. On Sunday, June 1, at about 9:30pm Officers were called to Broom island park in Minneapolis for reports of shots fired. And then it got upgraded to reports of a shooting. Right. Not just shooting. The difference being somebody got hit.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody
All right. This court said Police Chief Ryan o' Hara, now office from the Manapolis Police Department and Minneapolis park police came upon a. What they quotations, they call a very chaotic scene with more than 100 people still in the park screaming and fleeing. And they said people were gathered at the park park for barbecue or something else when the altercation erupted into gunfire.
Woody Overton

Woody
Authorities believe there was more than one shooter involved in the incident. Now police found three male shooting victims at the scene and one female victim in a car near the entrance to the park. Is it crazy?
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody
The female victim has not been AI she was rushed to local hospital where she later died. One of the three male shooting victims who was rushed to the hospital by ambulance has life threatening injuries. She might be brain dead on her. That's what they always say, right?
Cindy Overton
Right.
Woody
That two other male victims were taken in hospital in private vehicles and they have non life threatened injuries. So it's like Jimmy got shot. There's no ambulance. Yeah. One additional adult female was knocked unconscious in the melee that followed the shooting. So authorities, like I said, authorities have not yet identified victims. They say our horrible words go out to the woman whose life was taken in this incident and everyone else that was affected by While the woman family is mourning her loss, authorities are sifting through literally hundreds of pieces of evidence at the scene as they work to identify all those who were responsible for this. According to Chief o' Hara. He said it is a very extensive scene. There were a whole lot of rounds fired. Calling the number of rounds fired quotations outrageous, Harris said it's more akin to war zone. The amount of shell cases that the officers recovering here, it is just sickening. He said he doesn't know exactly why people were gathered at the park or what sparked the shooting. I don't know what can motivate people to come armed together like this in the way that they did. Anyway, Harris asking anybody with information to call the police at 612-673-5845 or 1-800-222-8477 you can remain anonymous. They can't go anywhere anymore. No the it's just mascot masculines and.
Cindy Overton
And mass everything is on masks, knives mat I mean knives. Flamethrowers off cocktails.
Woody
I mean you know I don't get it.
Cindy Overton
Firecrackers all together to make a bomb and put it in a gift.
Woody
Yep yep. It's all craziness. Right. One more equipment. Okay we're going down to make a All right. And you know we like to go down there. I love that you sit in a restaurant. The little marriage bands come around. Come around. Yeah I need you to the Mexican bands come around and play for you and like that. They kind of got you. They kind of got you stuck at the table when they come up and you're sitting with your wife and everybody you know they want to play a romantic song or whatever you like. You want to be a and say go away but you don't want to sit there. I don't want to sit there and listen to that either. But down south five bodies were discovered along the Mexican border near southern Texas and they belong to a five piece Mexican regional band who went missing on their way to play a show last weekend. So the Associated Press says that the Mexican authorities said Thursday they believe the five bodies to be those of the members of the Groupo Fugitivo, which is a Mexican regional band known in the area for playing parties and dances.
Cindy Overton
Like a mariachi band, I guess.
Woody
Yeah. However the you said so they said their deaths shocker. Are believed to be tied to the cartels of the five musicians. Murders are still under investigation. Now according to the ap the Timber Lupus state prosecutors say that the five musicians were kidnapped while driving their SUV to play a show. Their bodies were discovered on the outskirts of Reynosa, a northern Mexican city along the Texas border. Police have arrested nine suspects in connection with their death, all of whom have ties to the notorious Gulf Cartel. Local media reports indicate the five victims bodies had been burnt.
Cindy Overton
Why? Why?
Woody
Right. Nothing just says a little overkill like shooting deaf and then burn them, said the BBC reports the band was made up of musicians between the age of 20 and 40 who all played Mexican regional music, a type of genre that includes cumbia and corridos and oftentimes plays homage to cartel leaders. The BBC reports that in it remains unclear whether the members of Grupo Fugitive were targeted because of their music or simply victims of random violence. This is the last time the band members were heard from was while they were on their way to play a show at a local venues on Sunday night. This were family members and some family members also said they received ransom demands. But they were probably like well they were probably we don't have the money. And they were like we'll just kill them Barbell. Take their car. So but speculating. Well guess what. Authorities are doing the same thing and they're still trying to figure out the motive for the killing of the five musicians.
Cindy Overton
Fugitiveo is literally fugitive in Spanish.
Woody
So yeah. And the fugitives might have pissed off.
Cindy Overton
The wrong fugitives and they missed a.
Woody
Chord and the did whatever or looked at go cartel's leader's wife wrong or something.
Cindy Overton
You never know.
Woody
Idiots. The yeah. Our president is. And I've been saying this and you've heard me say this for many, many years that the cartels should be considered. We, we should be able to go and attack those.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody
With our military because it's the fentanyl and everything they're shipping in and all the people that they're killing, they stop.
Cindy Overton
It's like a war.
Woody
Yeah. I'm sure it would go around another way and whatever but they are killing thousands and thousands and thousands of Americans every year. Their product is and, and it's coming from them. They're bringing it across. Go in and kill everyone. If they're not there, they can't cause a problem. If, if, if, if this was World War II and the Nazis were invading the United States of America or Japanese invaded Pearl harbor, we fought back.
Cindy Overton
I, I 150 agree with you on that. However, we have free will. We don't have to take the fentanyl. We don't have to take their cocaine. We don't have. I mean the things.
Woody
Yeah, yeah.
Cindy Overton
We need to train our people to not also we have to take accountability as well. Don't use their product. They don't have a customer. They can't bring it in here. And I know it goes both ways.
Woody
Baby should get what's coming to them, you know. And yes, there will always be drugs. And yes, people should not do drugs. I get that. But they're going to do them. People should not have sex with prostitutes. I get that. But they're going to do it. It's been around since beginning of time. So that's enough for me today. How about you?
Cindy Overton
Me too.
