Hello everybody and welcome to True crime. Time for March 23, 2026. And I am Cindy Overton. Today is Monday and I hope y' all have a wonderful Monday. Woody begins every week with Best Week Ever starts now. So Best week Ever starts now. Let's put out those positive vibes. There's various things going on. I spoke to Haley's mom, Ms. Barbara. You know, Haley's the Justice for Haley series. I spoke to Ms. Barbara a few minutes ago and let's just send her some good vibes and let her know how much that we love her. Tomorrow or at midnight tonight, you everyone is going to get what Happened To Madison Episode 4. Our Patreon and convicts received that on Saturday. It actually as I was editing it, I got chills. It is just very eerie. Again, as I've said a couple times on the show, it's very, very, very close to home. And I just want to thank everybody that's, you know, sharing it because we are getting more tips that are coming in. We need the tips. I talked a lot about that on the last episode that I recorded. I won't bore you with that again, except to ask you to please share the podcast with anyone and everyone right now. And this one is like one of those where we want to share it. Not on top of just finding Madison and getting justice for her, but there's so many other girls that are involved and it's in real like it's things are still happening in real time and we have to be very aware of our environment. We have to make sure to share this with the women in our lives. Even if, you know, we're not living a high risk lifestyle. It just we all go through our days and sometimes the things that we do on a daily basis and getting out of your car at work or going back to your car from work, or getting out to get gas at a gas station, and, you know, you might have to run into the store and you come back and you don't look in your backseat, and you left your car unlocked. This is one of those things where we need to make sure that our loved ones are being safe out there and keeping their heads on a swivel, being aware of their environment, you know, be aware of who you're speaking to. And, you know, don't fall for any tricks from anyone. And not just specific to this case. This case just makes me think of those things that my daddy embedded in my. In my mind forever, which is, you know, not part D. Don't park too close to the car in front of you at a red light. Because, you know, back in. He taught me that so that I could get out of a tricky spot if someone was trying to carjack me. Because there are times when. When that happens. You know, walking out of the parking, like walking into a parking lot. As soon as you walk out of the store, literally just look noticeably, look at your surroundings. Make sure that you, you know, put your eyes and gaze out and you look around that parking lot. If someone's watching you and they watch you do that, that is a natural deterrent. Having something sharp in between, you know, your fingers. It used to be car keys, not so much anymore. But, you know, something to where if. If someone comes up to you, you have something that you can to shock them to hopefully get away. Remembering to scream as loud as you can and, you know, not. Not even help. I mean, something like my daddy would told me, like fire or something, that wherever you're at is going to get people's attention, that they won't think it's just two people fighting and screaming and not pay attention. You know, something that you are aware that you know will get people's attention where you are, if that makes sense. I wish that I could come up with some ideas right now, and for some. Whatever reason, my brain is not thinking, but fire was one of them. Rape was not one of them. That he told me to say help was one that I was told not to say. People can, you know, some people now, today is different because people want to go film and record everything. But also, there's been times where I was in a sketchy place. My kids have me on Life360. I was in a sketchy place. And I would FaceTime. You know, with one of my friends so that they would be aware of, you know, get. Make sure that I got to. But I wasn't like FaceTiming, engrossed in the, in the FaceTime, you know what I mean? Like, hey, I'm walking to my car. Walk with me. This is where I'm at. This is what's up. Blah, blah, blah. Another thing is, is this day and age, park by, look and see where the cameras are pointed. There's cameras in every parking lot. But make sure that you are parked, you know, where there's hopefully good, a good angle of the camera. And don't like. I see people all the time taking their time loading their groceries in the car and they, you know, turn the car on, they leave the driver door open, you know, put some stuff in the front seat, put some stuff in the back seat. They put this, you know, they haven't strapped in their kids yet. Like, they're just kind of lackadaisical about how they go about groceries. I could go on and on and on about this. It's something that I'm very, very passionate about. I literally used to walk out of my garage and go knock on my front door, not tell my kids that's what I was doing and check them to see if they would say like, who's there? Or not say anything or what. You know, sometimes I would tell them, we're going to role play. I'm going to go knock on the door. I am a blah. You know, I'd give them a description of, you know, what to pretend that I was. And we would rehearse how to handle a situation like that. Everything is muscle memory. And if you don't train, you're not going to be able to play. Right? And I don't mean play like this is a game. I mean like you will act as what you, you know, have trained on. So just like that's why you practice before a game. So please research different ways of, you know, self defense. Please talk to your loved ones about self defense. There's males and females missing, you know, these days. And I mean, there's always been males and females. It's not just our females going missing is what I'm saying. So that's enough about that. I'm sorry that I have taken so much time on that. But let's get to this day in the history. On March 23rd of 1998, there was a woman named Kathy who lives in Houston, who went missing. Now. She left her work. She had two different jobs that I know of one was at 24 Hour Fitness and the other one was at Nick's Sports Bar and Grill. So she left her 24 Hour Fitness job on March 23. A co worker dropped her off at her apartment, which was in the 1200 block of Willcrest at around 2pm Around 3pm Kathy's boyfriend saw her at her apartment and he left. And when he returned around six, she had disappeared. So something happened obviously in those three hours and she has never been seen again. Hamill, like I said earlier, was also employed at Nick's Sports Bar and Grill and she had an argument with a man at the restaurant the day prior. So March 22nd of 1998. It is not known if this incident is connected to Kathy Hamill's disappearance, but there have been and there have been no arrests. Investigators believe she was killed by her ex boyfriend and her body was dumped in a trash bin. But there's no concrete evidence of that and nothing else truly out there about this case. So that is what happened today in history. Let's see what Woody is starting me with today.

So we've reported on this case from Oklahoma City and there's new details. So this is an update. There are new details in the disturbing case that Oklahoma City police spent months investigating. A woman and her boyfriend are now facing charges for using a 14 year old as a surrogate and the 14 year old is pregnant with twins. 36 year old Erica Ramirez or Ramirez and 36 years old Nathan Potier are accused of abusing the teen and forcing the girl to get pregnant. Poitier or Potier P O T I E R is the father of the twins. According to court documents, this began last December when there was a referral from Child Protective Services that indicated the teen was pregnant with twins. Ramirez told police she wanted children with her current boyfriend. However, she couldn't because her tubes were tied. Police then obtained a search warrant for Potier's DNA to determine paternity at the teen's next doctor's visit. And before that could happen, both Ramirez and Potier left the state. It is believed that Ramirez is in California and her last address traces back to Lassen county near the Nevada border. Now, of course, both now have active warrants for their arrest and Potier faces sexual abuse of a child. Ramirez faces enabling child abuse and two counts of desertion of a child under 15. And court documents also revealed that prior reports were made in California that Potier sexually abused the same teen. And I guess that's when they ran to Oklahoma and adding that Ramirez was reportedly aware of these allegations. The teen is now in foster care. Thank goodness she is out of that and I hope that she's in a good home in foster care and that she delivers these babies safely and that they are all healthy. That is a. I think when I said that it was a f'd up. We have effed up professionals and you know, family matters, but that's a whole effed up mother foreign.

Woody spoke about this story last week, which is the Duggars or the. Yeah, the duggars, which is 19 kids and counting star. And I'd never watched that. I mean I do watch some what I consider trash tv, which is really just pop culture. Bravo, Bravo shows Real Housewives of Things Below Deck Mormon, which this is not. It's on Hulu but Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, those types of shows. But then I love Bridgerton and you know, all of that. But anyway, I did not watch this show. They gave me the creeps when I would hear about them and I probably tried to watch like the first couple episodes and they truly just ick was just all I could sense off of it. So I just didn't get. I just didn't waste my time on it. But a couple now faces four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of false imprisonment, according to Arkansas authorities. Kendra Duggar is now facing criminal charges alongside her husband, Joseph, after Arkansas police announced additional counts in the ongoing investigation on March 20, there was a press release from the Taunton Police Department and Both Joseph, who's 31 years old, and Kendra, who's 27 years old, are both now facing four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and in the second degree and four counts of false imprisonment in the second degree, authorities said arrest warrants have been issued and served with the misdemeanor offenses through district court. The police department noted that the investigation remains active and ongoing, adding that Arkansas law limits the amount of information that can be publicly released in cases involving minors in other sensitive circumstances. The police department says to protect the integrity of the investigation and the privacy of those involved. No further details will be provided at this time. The charges were fired as part of a continuing investigation into an incident first reported on March 18th.

The Latest filing brings four additional counts the latest filing brings four additional counts of each charged against the former 19 Kids and Counting star on top of the two previously filed he was already facing, including lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim less than 12 years old and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person 18 years or older. Now Kendra is the one that why we're doing this. She's now been charged and she's newly charged in the case. And the charges against Joseph were filed by the Bay County Sheriff's office on March 18 after they learned about an incident that took place in 2020, allegedly in which he is accused of molesting a nine year old girl while vacationing with her family in Panama City Beach, Florida. According to the bcso, the child claimed Dugar engaged in unlawful sexual activity after asking her to sit on his lap, let that sink in and laid her next to him under a blanket where he touched her inappropriately. Got my heart. Ugh. Dugar had been asked about the allegations by her father on the night of March 17th and confessed at that time. As the vacation continued, he also asked her to sit next to him on a couch and covered them with a blanket. During this time, Degar manipulated the victim's underwear and grazed her genitals. He also continued to rub his hands on her thighs. The victim stated that he eventually apologized for his actions and the incident stopped after the apology, according to BCSO statement. He was then arrested in Arkansas where he resides, but the case is being handled in Florida where the incidents the alleged incidents occurred and he may he must be extradited to Bay county to face charges there Joseph, who appeared on all four iterations of his family's TLC reality series franchise, is a father of four who has been married to his wife Kendra since 2017. And actually their wedding was featured on an episode of counting on in 2017. And I hope they get the maximum that they can get for what they've done wrong. Going to Delaware county and A suspect has been arrested for the assault of a crossing guard in Darby Borough. Rasheem Russell, who's 29 years old of West Philadelphia, was arrested at 11am Friday in Darlington, South Carolina. He is being held and awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania. The incident occurred shortly after 3:30pm on Monday during dismissal outside Walnut Street Elementary School as students looked on. According to police. The guard told detectives that Russell had been driving aggressively as she helped students cross the street and that she ordered him to stop. Court records say Russell then parked his car, chased her down and hit her, knocking her unconscious. Mayor Jordan said if you commit a crime in Darby, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. In reference to this case, officials credited cooperative police work for leading to Russell's capture. Court documents state that Philadelphia Police stopped Russell's 2009 gold Nissan Altima on Wednesday, but two women, not Russell, were inside and one woman told detectives that Russell had fled to South Carolina. This information was credible. So at that point we started scouring what possible connections, family members he may have had and we determined there was a very close family member in the city of Darlington. This was according to US Marshal Supervisory Deputy Robert Clark. Russell faces aggravated assault and related charges and is waiting extradition to Pennsylvania and State Senator Anthony Williams offered a $5,000 reward in the case as soon as the crime was solved. They showed and wanted their $5,000 and they will get their $5,000, Williams said. Authorities say the victim suffered both physical and emotional injuries but is recovering, thank goodness, and she has chosen to remain anonymous and has resigned from her position as a crossing guard. That is a dangerous, dangerous position because people don't pay attention to crosswalks to school zones. I know in Maripal the school zone is on Highway 22. It's literally a highway and it's just a two lane highway and you're coming around curves and sometimes there were, you know, the trees would cover up like where and the state would clean it up. But where you couldn't actually see that this was coming up on a school zone and you know when you have the crossing guard go out there and don't know if someone's going to be paying Attention. Obviously this was somewhat intentional. The, the attack was intentional, but it's a danger. It truly is a dangerous job. We're going to go to Florida and a Jacksonville suburb. We have a Florida woman who recently became a grandmother and she has been identified though as one of two people killed in a shooting outside a Walgreens store. Deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the parking lot of a Walgreens and Point vedra Beach around 10:30pm on Friday, March 13. There they found two people with multiple gunshot wounds, both of whom later died at local hospitals. Melissa Wood was identified as one of the victims and her brother is alleging that she was shot to death by an insecure, jealous ex boyfriend. Her brother Jeremy Hackwood said she left behind two kids, had just become a grandma barely a year ago and leaves our mother and me grieving her loss. Melissa was such an amazing, outgoing, generous and compassionate person. An arrest warrant obtained by the Florida Times Union identified the second victim as Jason Chatham. Authorities did not share the victim's ages in the warrant. The investigation led authorities to 32 year old Christian Barrios who is suspected of traveling to the store to confront the victims and then fleeing the scene. Barrios was taken into police custody the next morning during a manhunt and the arrest came after authorities responded to a report of a vehicle that had been stolen from a local residence. After the pursuit, Nassau county sheriff's deputy stopped the vehicle but Barrios fled on foot.

and joint efforts, NCSO and J SJSO canine units tracked Barrios into the woods and quickly located him hiding around 8am the sheriff's office said that Barrios has been charged with two counts of first degree murder, burglary, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and other related offenses. And of course, the winner has pleaded not guilty. Guilty. This next story reminds me of what I've learned from, you know, working with Woody and hearing about the cases that he's worked. And sometimes when a case goes cold, years later there's an arrest because people get older. They, if they were young, you know, when the crime occurred, people get older and they get more of a conscience or, you know, they something eats at them and they just decide that they need to get it off their chest. And sometimes people that know information somehow, you know, they remember something that makes something relevant. I remember with one of the cases that Woody's worked on and I'm probably going to remember it incorrectly, but it, this happens all the time. Is someone that was a neighbor of A missing person was on his deathbed and wanted to say something that he had never said before about the night that the person went. The night before the person went missing some or no, I'm so sorry. The night that the person went missing that he saw at his neighbor's house and it was never spoke of again. And people do that all the time. And that's what this story kind of reminds me of. And then sometimes you have people that commit a crime and they do it maybe so many times, or they just get like, braggadocious and they start confessing to people and telling people and people they're drunk or, you know, something, and they tell something that happened very much like David Anthony Burns did with Courtney Coco. And people are like, oh, yeah, right, you didn't do that. And then things start coming up and you realize, oh, wait, this truly could have happened. So the body of a Massachusetts woman who was missing for more than a year was discovered by police buried under a garage after a tipster revealed to authorities a chilling confession his friend made. Jill Kloppenberg, who is 47 years old, was reported missing on February 26, 2025. The tipster says at some point, he made a jerking motion which caused him to pull the trigger, discharging a firearm and shooting Jill in the chest. According to the FBI, Kloppenberg was last seen leaving her residence in Lowell on January 2nd of 2025. The FBI said Kloppenberg was living in temporary housing with roommates. While there had not been any promising leads regarding the location or status of the missing woman, authorities received a tip last week that broke the case wide open. Thank goodness. It's a tip. Just a little tip. On March 10, 2026, a tipster reported a possible homicide to the Nashaw Police Department in New Hampshire. The Middlesex County District Attorney's Office revealed. This is a quote the reporting party told police. The tipster told police that his friend, a man named Sean Sullivan, had told him or allegedly told him that he killed a woman named Jill at his home in or around January of 2025 and that he had allegedly shot her and buried her under the floor in the garage of the Audrey Avenue home in Tingsborough where he was living. And on March 15, officers from the Tynesboro Police Department, the Tewksbury Police Department, and Massachusetts State Police executed a search warrant at the home. Officer saw what appeared to be a large patched area in the garage. Investigators used ground penetrating radar technology to scan the entire garage floor and confirmed an area that appeared to be cut and patched. Police discovered human remains in a bag buried under the garage floor of the home and the DA said the Office of the Chief Medical examiner has identified the remains as Jill. The preliminary findings by a medical examiner also indicate that Kloppenberg sustained a gunshot wound and officers with the Tingsborough Police Department arrested 40 year old Shawn Sullivan on March 15th. On Tuesday, Sullivan was arraigned in Lowell District Court on charges of murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and improper disposal of human remains in connection with the shooting of Jill, and Sullivan was ordered held without bail. Again, that's why we always say no tip is too small. If that had not been called in, she would still not be found and laid to rest and her family has the ability to have some sense of closure.

So thank goodness for that tipster. We're going to Houston and we have a 39 year old mother of two that was internally decapitated in a hit and run crash last week and her family is seeking the public's help to locate the person who struck her. Lolita Moore was crossing the road at the intersection of oh my gosh, I know this area, FM 1960 and Cypress Station Road in Houston around 8pm and that is a I don't know what it's like now, but if it's the area that I'm thinking of, it's a very wide at some point, six lanes with a median in the middle. Sometimes it's very unlit, very dark. 8pm There might have been a little bit of, you know, sunset left, but it is definitely not a place that I would want to be crossing the road. And so she was crossing that intersection on March 12th when she was struck. And this is according to Harris County Sheriff's Office. Moore had just left the grocery store and was on her way back home, her sister said. And her sister's name is Jasmine Bates. Moore is believed to have tripped over her shoe and fallen before she was struck, according to Bates. And Moore was taken to the hospital with shallow breathing and a fractured skull, according to the sheriff's office. Bates says that doctors have told the family that Moore was internally decapitated. An internal decapitation occurs when, when the skull separates from the spinal column. Her skull is disconnected from her neck and her spine, said her sister, adding that Moore's head is being stabilized with a brace and she has undergone a trachostomy. Moore has many more surgeries and hasn't fully awakened. Bates says she has been able sometimes here and there to kind of flicker her eyes and she has a breathing tube. The driver was seen driving a black Honda CRV and fled the scene, according to the sheriff's office. Moore is the oldest or the eldest of eight siblings, and she herself has two daughters who were 12 and 19. And so now those two daughters are being cared for by Moore's other sister, sermon, who is 34. And that sister says she's in a situation that she's still fighting for her life and that not only changed her life, but everybody's that is around her. Her child was expecting her to go home that day. Moore's family is urging the person who struck her to come forward. I do hope that they come forward because she deserves that much, bates says. She has children, she has family. She is someone's mother, she's someone's sister, someone's daughter, someone's aunt, and you left her for dead. Bates and Sermon question why the driver did not remain at the scene. They go on to question. They said, how would you want bystanders to respond if that had been your child or you or someone very close to you? Would you like for them to leave you at the scene? And so Morris family has launched a GoFundMe to help with the cost of her recovery. And anyone with information on the driver or vehicle is urged to contact HCSO at 713-216-2000. That reminded me of a story when I was in high school. I've always been a klutz. I truly, I mean, I say that I literally always have been a klutz. I've been wearing glasses since I was 18 months old because I was walking into things. And little did my parents know, I started walking at nine months old. I was an early walker, but so they let it go on for so long because they were like, well, she's walking early. Maybe she just needs to get her balance. Well, slowly my right eye started to turn in and it was lazy and I was seeing double, apparently. So I got glasses. But I still, I still to this day trip on things and that type of thing. But I remember going Riding the bus or riding with friends, following the school bus after a football game in ninth grade. And we went on Plank Road in Baker and there was a Pizza Hut on one side of the street and on the other side of the street was Taco Bell. Well, we were given permission to cross the street. It was nighttime and we were given permission to cross the street as a group. And I remember crossing the street and falling a trip. And I was, it was fight, flight or freeze. I was so embarrassed that I froze. I didn't freeze to where I stayed there, but I did freeze for quite longer than I should have, like a couple of seconds. And there were cars coming, but they were pretty far away and I was fine. But I can imagine tripping. And you have, you know, your bags of groceries, you might be trying to pick them up or you can't get up because you might have fallen on a bag of groceries. I've done that before where I'm sitting on the bag of groceries. So I can't make myself get up because the weight of the groceries is connected to my arm. So I had to like release my arm from the bag to be able to get up. I mean, it's just ridiculous. So I know that it's hard because if that's the section of 1960 that I'm thinking of, there weren't a lot of lights at that time. There's plenty of places for that car to have turned. And if, you know it was, if it hit someone is what it did hit someone, it's going to have damage to it. There are plenty of places that it could possibly have turned to avoid being recognized, like at the next light or something like that. I don't know. But I hope they find the monster that left her there and I hope that the family, I hope that she fully recovers. It's just, can you imagine being decapitated and still alive? I mean, that's a fighter there. So many, many prayers for that family. Now this is a hero story. I just read the headline of this and this is a hero story. Kansas authorities have confirmed that a 27 year old man tried abducting a little girl earlier this month, but she was able to fight the man off and escaped. Now how many stories do we get to read that say that the girl is eight years old and she was on a walk the morning of March 7th when she was approached by a man in Wichita. The girl was headed for her grandmother's restaurant and the man had been following her for several blocks, she claimed. So she was aware of her environment, which is amazing. And she noticed that he had been following her. So that means that in my world, she was mentally preparing herself for the fight. That's the only way. I mean, if she had no sense of him being around and no sense of her surroundings, she wouldn't have probably been as prepared. Police said that Tanner Warren ran up behind the little girl and grabbed her by the waist with one hand while placing the other over her face, covering her mouth. And she said Warren squeezed his arms, which restricted her ability to breathe. She said that she tried to scream but couldn't catch enough of her breath. But they describe her very well. The feisty girl wasn't going with Warren without a fight. Police say that the girl struck the man in the stomach, which led him to let go. And because she's a minor, she's identified by her initials, IR And IR Ran straight to her grandmother's restaurant and. And told her what had happened. The police were called immediately and officers started searching the immediate area for Warren. The girl told police that when Warren pulled up, he simply said, hey. Believing it was a friend of her father's. She responded, hi. And as they walked, Warren asked the girl for her name, at which point she realized this man was a stranger. The girl told Warren she was told not to talk to such people, after which he uttered her name, catching her off guard. And she asked him how he knew her name, and he said he guessed. He also told the little girl that she was pretty. Police tracked Warren down and he claimed he was just walking in the area and denied knowing anything about the young girl. He wasn't going to bother anyone, he said, and apologized. If I made her feel uncomfortable or anything like that. She saw me walking and I was just like. I asked her who she was. I wasn't trying to flirt with her or be uncomfortable. I would never hit on an underage minor. And Warren is charged with attempted kidnapping in attempted interference with parental custody. And he is being held on a $40,000 bond and has a court date scheduled for today. And I hope they keep him there. Good for that little girl. That. And then I understand there's situations that that's always not the case, But I am so glad that she got away. I'm so glad that she was aware. And we're going to Spring, Texas. In December 2025, a high school student in Spring, Texas, was shot dead in his own home. And after two months of investigation, police have now arrested the suspects. Members of the Violent criminals apprehension team vcat have arrested two 16 year old boys in connection with the murder. The victim has been identified as Michael Spivey and he was 18 years old. According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, Spivey left his home, which was on Edsel Drive, to meet someone on December 26, 2025. He soon returned home and was joined by one or two people, but then he was then shot in the back of his head inside his bedroom. The victim's mother, Vanessa Garcia, has claimed that the suspect took advantage of her son's kindness. Garcia said her son considered the two accused boys to be his friends, but they instead shot and robbed him. What they said to get him to bring the boys home. They said that they needed help that night to come charge their phones and he let them in. The mother added that the accused did not stop at killing him and instead went online to joke about his death by making songs about him. The boys who did this to my child only made it harder by going online and making songs about him, making fun of him like if My son was a joke, garcia continued. The motive behind the killing remains unclear and investigators have not yet disclosed what led them to the two teenage suspects. The first suspect was arrested on March 14, followed by the second on March 16 and I would guess that one turned on the other. Identities of the two suspects have not been revealed because they're minors and but both have been charged with murder and are being held in Harris County Juvenile Detention Center. Announcing the arrest, Gonzalez released a statement on social media on March 16 that said on Saturday, March 14, 2026, a 16 year old male was charged with murder for his alleged involvement in Spivey's or Spivey's death. He was arrested by members of the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team vcat, as I said earlier, and was booked into the juvenile detention center today. A second 16 year old male was charged with murder for his involvement in his in Spivy's death. He too was arrested by VCAT and booked into the juvenile detention center, Gonzalez said. Meanwhile, Garcia does not want the alleged murderers to be treated as juveniles and is demanding life in prison for both. A juvenile is a child who doesn't know what they're doing yet. They knew what they were doing, they went there with the intent to do it, she said. And the case is still under investigation and more details of course are likely to come out as the probe continues. And the song they were making up they was Friend. They made up songs called Friend, I

A newborn girl was mauled to death in Michigan after she was left alone with a stray dog her family had only recently taken in and this is according to the police on the case and her heartbroken grandmother. The unidentified five day old girl suffered multiple puncture wounds when the mixed breed dog attacked her in the family's Novi home just outside Detroit on Tuesday morning. Linda French is the grandmother and she said that baby should never have been left alone. And she goes on to say she never even got to meet her new granddaughter. She said I'm just, and she says these words, God, I'm devastated. French, whose stepson is the baby's father, said that. French, whose stepson is the baby's father, said the newborn was sleeping in a bassinet type bed at the time of the attack. The dog is believed to have knocked the baby over and quickly attacked before the baby's parents could intervene. French claimed the family had only taken in the dog just months prior and it previously lunged at her. They don't know that dog. They don't know where he came from, she insisted, squarely blaming the parents for putting their kids at risk. I'm sorry to say that about my stepson, but those kids don't belong there, she said. Without revealing how many other children were in the house, she goes on to say, it kills me. Authorities have not released any details on what breed of dog was involved, but said it was euthanized after the horrific attack, which is still being investigated by police. And it isn't immediately clear if anyone will be facing charges and I would bet my life that there will be charges against whichever adults were in the house.

So we're going to to Ham, East Sussex for this story and there's a boarding school there, a very elite boarding school there that costs 36 year, €36,000 a year. And the housemaster has been banned from the classroom after kissing a pupil and telling her, I feel love at a level I've never felt before. While his wife of eight years was pregnant with their second child, Benjamin Phelps, who's 31 years old, was working as a performing arts technician and deputy housemaster at Bede's Senior School in Houcham, East Sussex when he began privately messaging the pupil in November of 2023. A teaching regulation Agency panel found that his messages, sent late at night and in the early hours, became increasingly personal over a period of months, with Phelps telling the pupil, I love you and I wish you sweet dreams and I love you more every day. In one WhatsApp message, Phelps told the pupil that a photograph she had sent him had left him feeling turned on and that he wanted to grab you and pick you up and have you wrapped around me. Many of the messages were sent while Phelps's wife, whom he married in 2016, was pregnant with his second child. Yet his messages toll. In his messages to the pupil, Phelps wrote that he felt love, like pure love, at a level I'm not sure I've ever felt before, and that there was not a single other thought in my brain, not one other than you. The panel found Phelps had kissed the pupil on the cheek and exchanged hugs with her on a number of occasions. And when she kissed him In February of 2024, he kept it from the school. It was the pupil's mother who eventually alerted the school in March of 2024, triggering Phelps's suspension and his dismissal the following month. In one Google chat message sent to the pupil, Phelps wrote, a hot feeling went through me from front to back. I shook slightly. Bit weird, but true. Then I had this warm glow and I can't stop staring at it. I feel love, like pure. I already said that one. I'm not reading it again. I just want to grab you and pick you up and have you wrapped around me. I feel like there is not a single other thought in my brain, not one other than you. And then in another message, he warned her, maybe delete this chat too, in case they look through your phone. Phelps pursued a relationship with the pupil after having a phone call with her in October, sending her messages filled with emojis and kisses, writing written notes and planning secret meetups during the school day in the months following, the messages read, you have such a beautiful mind, though. It's so pure and genuine. I've always said that. And massive hugs on the pillow. In one instance, Philip wrote on a napkin to the pupil just to say, and then he drew a heart with all my. And then he drew a heart. XXXX missed you today. Other times, he encouraged the student to bunk off, messaging her fair. Want to sneak off together for some lunch? X after moving to WhatsApp, a banned means of communication at the boarding school, the panel found the communications became increasingly personal, and Phelps and the pupil undertook other activities, such as spending more time together outside of lesson time and and exchanging photographs. The WhatsApp messages included one from Phelps stating, hope you've had a good night. I'm falling asleep with my phone in my hand. I love you and wish you sweet dreams. Contact me about anything. And then 6xsxxxxxx another read love you more every day my heart fluttered every time you caught my eye and x also I love the hearts just ready them they'll stay close to me xx Phelps also planned their meetups away from the eyes of other teachers as he wrote in one message, okay I've been thinking about tomorrow and I think we should go to and the place has been redacted and get a another thing was redacted and eat in the car. In November, the pupil disclosed a matter to Phelps which should have prompted him to then begin safeguarding procedures, but he failed to do so. He also failed to discuss that the pupil had kissed him. The panel also found Phelps failed to follow a direct instruction to discontinue contact with pupils during his suspension but and that he answered a call with the pupil while he had been suspended. The panel also found, among other allegations that Phelps had entered other pupils rooms and allowed the door to close. Benjamin Phelps has two young children and has been married for eight years and he's been banned from teaching and was found proven of serious misconduct and failure of his duty of safeguarding and now Bede School and Hausham is a top independent school with boarding and day students aged 13 to 18 and has if you go there for full term, full boarding fees per term or €17,525. So I think you're paying that money because you want your children to be protected. So I'm going to end it there. As always, JusticeForHalie is coming. What happened to Madison?
