Woody Overton, True Crime Host
Hello everybody. Welcome to this episode of True Crime time for Monday, May 18, 2026. And I'm Woody Overton, bringing you the true crime time stories that you want to hear. Right? So hashtag what happened Madison and all the cases, y' all Police calling you tips 313RLRCTIP and I can assure you that I'll send them to the powers that be. Right. And we need your help. I'll try to have Ms. Lynn back on this week to discuss the case further, including the young lady, Miss Stephanie is still missing from West Feliciana Parish. So that being said, let's get out of some true crime time for this Monday. And I hope y' all all have the best week ever. And best week ever starts now. And on this day in 1927, the want ad killer dude named Harvey Kerrigan was born to a single mom in Fargo, North Dakota. As a child, Kerrigan had severe behavioral issues. Imagine that Kerrigan Attacked his first victim in 1949 by raping and then beating 57 year old Laura Showalter to death. Right. Damn. Kerrigan then placed one ads in the paper for his gas station to lure women and is thought to have murdered at least five women. He was sentenced to life in prison for murdering Eileen Hundley and Catherine Holtz. And Kerrigan died in prison at the age of 95 years old. Wow. That's crazy. I must. Y' all probably don't even remember one ad. Some in the newspaper. You go get the paper every day to look up, you know, jobs or, or whatever for sale. I guess it was like Facebook, Marketplace and ebay and all that combined. But this dude killed and then lived to be 95 years old on the state's nickel. All right, all right, y'. All. You know, I don't like to talk about the Murdaugh deal, but obviously he's getting a new trial. And guess what? I'm going to talk about this because it's important. So they went on appeal, and rightfully so. That means that woman shouldn't have done the shit she did and she's in trouble for it now and all that. But give the man a fair trial, you're going to put him away for life. Well, also, you want to roll that dice. And the prosecutor can roll back hard also. And what they did is now the prosecutors are like, okay, well, you want a new pill, you get a new trial. We're getting a new trial and we're going to up the game. Prosecutors may pursue the death penalty in the retrial of Alex Murdaugh, according to South Carolina Attorney General. South Carolina Supreme Court on Wednesday overturned the murder conviction of Murdoch, who has been found guilty of killing his wife and younger son. And find it at the court's clerk and proper external influence on the jury denied him fair trial. Okay, so give him another trial. Right. But prosecutors said they will retry the case. And South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson said in the statement, in light of the Supreme Court's decision, we're back to square one on this case. And that means all of our legal options are on the table, including the death penalty. Now. Yeah, remember, they go for the death penalty, right. So Murdoch's defense, when they went to ask him about this, they were like, we have no statement about that. Murdoch, of course, maintains his innocence. He's full of. And Alex has said from day one that he did not kill his wife and son. He's going to say that he did with all the other. He had going on too and adding that they look forward to a new trial conducted consistent with the Constitution. Well, I don't believe anybody should go to prison. If they can get a fair trial, give them a trial, they can give them appeals anyway. But Murdoch's wife Margaret Maggie Murdaugh and his younger son, 22 year old Paul Murdaugh were shot and killed near the dog kennels on the family's estate in 2021. At the murder trial, prosecutors argued that Alex Murdaugh, who comes from a legacy of prominent attorneys in the low country region of South Carolina, killed his wife and son to gain sympathy and distract from his financial wrongdoings. So everybody by knows the rest of it right the but I was concerned about as they let him out on like house arrest or something. But they said despite the now overturned murder conviction, Alex Murdaugh will remain in prison to serve time. First convictions on financial crimes. Where is he? Serving a 27 year sentence on state charges and 47 year sentence on federal charges. I forgot about that and all his other and evil wrongdoings. So he's done. He said he'll still be in prison while we wait on this new trial which I'm sure will be long and lengthy. Yeah, when you, when you get a redo like that holy you better believe they're really going to pull out all the stops both sides because you already know what the other side had to offer on the table and they know where they screwed up or if the jury got distracted or you know, if you went too long or whatever, it'll be a lot better of a trial. All right, I'll, we're gonna go out to Atlanta. I don't even know what category to put this under but the police in Atlanta arrested a dude who says he stabbed a 70 year old for making sexual comments that left him feeling highly upset. And this Coroner Russell warrants the incident took place in the early morning hours of May 9th and the warrant states that an off duty Atlanta police lieutenant was working an extra job when a 70 year old man walks up to him, says that 68 year old Walter Dixon had just stabbed him. The victim told police that he and Dixon had been drinking and horsing around in front of the of an apartment. And according to the warrant, the victim said that Dixon became upset and entered another apartment to grab a knife. When he returned, the victim says Dixon stabbed him in the head and the left shoulder. Dixon must have really been pissed off, huh? So the cops go down and they find Dixon, they interview him and guess what he said he told him that the victim approached him, made inappropriate sexual charge statement stating that he want to give Dixon oral sex. Dixon told officers that the victim made him feel highly upset when leading him to go into his apartment to get the knife before he stabbed him twice. Medical personnel arrival scene and transport the victim to Grady Hospital. Dixon was arrested, seen and taken to the Fulton County Jail where he is charged with aggravated assault. Well, I'm pretty sure, I mean, 68 and 70 something years old, drinking beer, hanging out, having a good time until your buddy asking to give you a blow job and you're like, I'm just gonna stab you in the head. That's crazy. As it's time for family matters, y', all, this store is whack. And the. I don't care what religion you believe in and, and whatever, that's your right, I got mine. Jesus. I've studied most of the different religions over the years and the, you know, the cult is a very real deal. And, and then tell you about an occult worshiping mom who's accused of killing her disabled six year old son because she believed that he was evil. Well, the human remains were discovered in the investigation into the disappearance of Noel Rodriguez Alvarez. And police made the shocking discovery behind the boy's home in Everman, Texas, which is, y', all, it's about 30, 30 minutes outside of Dallas.

However,
Woody Overton, True Crime Host
evidently, even though they know it's a small boy's remains, etcetera, they say that remains still need to be identified. But they said during a lawfully authorized search operation at the former residence of Noel Rodriguez Albert, human remains were discovered. According to Everman Police Chief Al Brooks, those remains are now in the custody of the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office, who is doing a forensic examination and working toward an official identification. He said, I do want to be clear. No official identification has been made as of yet. Well, we're pretty sure it's this young man, right? If not, then they can have a serial killer. Noel's mom, Cindy Rodriguez Singh, who's 41, believed that her son was evil and possessed by a demon and use this as an excuse to allegedly abuse the boy. Rodriguez Singh worshiped the Mexican folk God Santa Muerta, a personification of death typically associated with the drug cartels. The timeline of Noel's disappearance revealed a disturbing sequence of neglect and abuse beginning in October of 2022, when he was last seen appearing malnourished after the birth of his twin siblings. Over the next month, Rodriguez Singh skipped her son's essential medical appointments for his chronic lung disease and vision problems. This poor baby, meanwhile, she's skipping appointments. She's applying for passports and research and travel plans to India. It's a long ways from Texas, y', all from Dallas for every family member except baby Noel, right? Well, sooner or later, you got to get a welfare check, and they got one. In March of 2023, when Rodriguez Singh allegedly gave false information that Noel was with his biological father in Mexico, she made another claim that Noah had been sold at a local market. You know, Noah was buried in your backyard. Hours after her husband stole ten grand and disposed of a carpet believed to contain human remains, the couple ran like little to India with six of their children, leaving police to discover the shocking history of abuse and. And eventually remains were found at their former home. Investigators concluded in October 2023 that Noel was most likely dead around a year after he was last seen. Mean claiming him legally that y'. All, Obviously, he's been dead for a minute. Rodriguez Singh was arrested in India last spring, was exercised to the US but was determined incompetent to stand trial. Okay, so let's say she's incompetent and she believes her son's possessed. And let's say she really is a nut job, right? Then why do you lie about where he's at? I mean, if you truthfully, truthfully believe that your kids is full of the devil and you had to kill him because it was the devil, then you, you wouldn't have any problem telling the cops that. I don't know, it's. But I'll tell you one thing. Bifo Texas will execute her in a second beast mode. You know, we do these animal stories, and they're almost as sad as human stories, right? Some of them. It just pisses me off when I think about it. But this comes right down the street from me. And the got a company called Animal Rescue Courts, and they're a national animal protection nonprofit, and they focus on a large scale rescue and shelter relief. And it's giving dozens of dogs a fresh start after suspected cruelty and neglect case here in Louisiana. Right down the street from me. So. According to News Channel 5 in Nashville, the organization recently transported 40 dogs, all 40 dogs to its rescue center outside Nashville, Tennessee, where they're going to get medical treatment and begin rehab. But the group included 35 dogs removed from a property in Greensburg, Louisiana, where authorities said many of the animals were severely underweight and living in unhealthy conditions. Y', all, Greensburg for me, is not 10, 10 minutes from here. The I didn't hear about it. But officials said one resident connected to the property faces 27 animal cruelty counts, including 21 felony counts, which is. I applaud them for that because most times it's just misdemeanors. Animal Animal Rescue Corp. Said another resident who remains at large could face additional charges. For the non profit, the case shows a tight work they do and reflects the type of emergency intervention at the center of its mission. Animal Rescue Courts frequently partners with local authorities and rescue organizations to assist in severe neglect and cruelty situations, which helps to stabilize animals and move them toward recovery and adoption. So the transfer, this one I'm telling you about also included five additional dogs connected to a Louisiana Department of Correction shelter program. So I guess they're doing good shit, but here we are, I said. Before arriving in Tennessee, these dogs had been housed at Dixon Correctional Institute in Jackson, Louisiana. That's the prison I used to work at, y'. All. In case y' all don't know, Cindy

And that's 15 minutes out of direction from the dogs in Greensboro. They said at DCI is what we call it. It's where care was provided through the Pen Pals Animal Shelter and Adoption Center. And programs like this allow incarcerated people to work with rescued animals while building practices, practical skills, responsibility and experience that can support rehab and reentry efforts. Yeah, they don't just bring these dogs in somewhere and and drop them off. I don't know how they pay for it. But the they said now at Animal Rescue Corps, the dogs will receive veterinary exams in the individualized treatment plans, behavioral support and daily care before they get placed up for adoption. So the. That's pretty cool. And how about this? That's for the. This animal rescue corpse and any other organization that donates their time and help like that. Y', all, the DCI shelter, the pen pals thing, the. We have a lifer there. I like the runs that and God, I can't think of her name, you know, but I'm bad with names. It's Pen Pals Animal Shelter and Adoption Center. Guess what? My mom and daddy and the last two dogs they got, they always had pure bed boxers before they actually went over there. And the dogs are still alive to this day. They're with my mama. So those people are doing great stuff over there. The inmates get to, to work with the dogs and train them and, and they go up for adoption instead of being put to sleep. All right, let's get back to some. Well, I mean that's a crime too. That why in the. You got 40 dogs or 35 dogs and you starve them to death? I don't get that beast mode. All right, y', all, this is crazy. The. Yeah, we talk about people smuggling stuff and the, the crazy and how they do it and everything else. Well, let me give you a twofer. It's time for worldwide crime. We've had crazy like turtles and you know, of course birds and, and different things people try to smuggle. Well, if you're going to smuggle something either you're going to keep it for yourself for nine times out of ten they're going to sell it and they have somebody that ordered it already. The this case. Authorities seized two white face capuchins while a howler monkey died in an attempted smuggling case. So two people have been accused of attempting to smuggle three live monkeys in their underwear across borders. And guess what? One of the underwears must have been one of the pair of undies must have been too tight because it killed one of the monkeys in the process. Now you go to prison and they say what you in for? Because I smothered the monkey to death with my junk and it's just crazy. So this all unfolded at the Rafael Nunez International Airport in Cartagena, Colombia. After attempting to smuggle the primates into the Dominican Republic in their private parts. The Cardinal Cartagena Metropolitan Police confirmed this happened. Right. The 27 year old woman and 26 year old man who are both natives of La Waga de Librico, Colombia, had attempted to smuggle three monkeys in total. Two of the monkeys were identified as white faced capuchins and the third was a howler monkey. The capuchin survived, but the howler did not after it got suffocated during the smuggling. I don't know, I don't know, I don't know. I mean I just. This blows my mind. Cardinal Metropolitan Police shared an image on X of the two suspects. Suspects who appeared to be handcuffed as they posed in front of a white wall. And they're surrounded by cops. And in front of them were the monkeys, which were placed on a sign denoting wildlife trafficking. Of course, the individual's faces were blurred. Authorities didn't identify them. Their names. But they're being charged with illegal exploitation of natural resources and wildlife trafficking about murder of monkey in your junk. The national police of Colombia and Rafael Nunes International Airport. Course, they didn't respond. Blah, blah, blah. The. This one dude who's a brigadier general with a cart. Henness police described the attempted smuggling as inhumane. Naturally, he said this practice is evidence of absolute cruelty and a flagrant violation of animal rights. Referring to the howler monkey, the one that died, he said the animal died of conditions that we can only describe as the inhumane. I'm pretty sure you shove any live animal in your pants in your crotch and it dives. Yeah, that's inhumane. So I don't know the. I guess people sell monkeys, too. Yeah. I don't. I don't get it, but y' all get tired of me saying I don't get it, but some of this is just so whack. Beast mode. Can't seem to get off the beast mode today. But we're going to Houston. Let me tell you something. Two things. You don't want to kill one especially. Well, both of these in the state of Louisiana, but one is a bear because they're just now coming back around and they got tracking devices and actually had a case where these three dudes shot one at nighttime. Well then realized that these. The game wardens have a lot. Or the scientists have, like little heart monitors on these things. And they could tell exactly where it was and exactly when it quit breathing and all that. The other one, you do not want to. With a bald eagle. That's our, you know, American bird and the whole nine yards. And those things are beautifully all. They're huge, too. If you ever see. I think they got like 7ft wingspans. We have a lot down here in south Louisiana, which you wouldn't think about that because you think they're all in Alaska, places like that. Well, going to Houston. And a porter man has admitted to shooting and killing a bald eagle at his home in northeast Harris County. And look, federal crime, too. That's what you really, really screwed. And this is according to the federal prosecutors. According to the federal officials, Santos Guerra, who's 42, pled guilty to violating the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act. And this is after the. The cops say he shot the bird on October 11th of 2024. Investigators responded after receiving reports about the shooting and reviewed video footage that showed the eagle being shot before it fell from a tree. Hey, you're not gonna eat a eagle. And be honest with you, I've, I've, I've been in close proximity. They stink like they're the one of the most beautiful majestic birds. They stink. And anyway, authorities later went to Guerrero's residence where they matched the tree in the video and located the eagle which was still alive y' all at that time. So he just wounded it. What A. The eagle was transport to an animal hospital but had to be euthanized because the severity of his injuries. So then they do a. An autopsy or a necropsy and they found the eagle suffered major trauma including severe wing damage which was caused by the bullet. Officials said the fall also resulted in liver fractures, internal bleeding and a broken leg. Well, the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection act makes it illegal to kill possess seller transport. I guarantee you not putting a. A big ass eagle in the underwear. But the seller transport balder golden eagles including their nests, eggs or body parts without a permit. So the US Magistrate Judge Peter Bray accepted Guerrero's guilty plea and scheduled sentencing for July 30th. He faces up to one year in federal prison and a fine of 100 grand. Him? I mean why, why shoot, why shoot an eagle? They don't do anything. They don't with you. I mean they're, they're, they're beautiful to look at. Whatever. It's time for family matters. Y'. All check this out. This is. I mean it's not funny, but it's kind of funny. A 39 year old Pennsylvania man is facing criminal charges. I bet you can't guess why. After his 7 year old son called 911 to tell the cops that his father had abandoned him in a vehicle so he could play gambling machines inside a convenience store. You imagine that your 70 year old calls in on you. Jason Matthew Eddy was taken into custody last month and charged with one misdemeanor count amid danger in the welfare of a child. Police identified the 911 caller as a young boy who told dispatchers with Lancaster Countywide Communications that his father had left him alone for an extended period of time. And according to the news release from the Ephrata Police Department, officers responded to a call at an the Alpharetta Food Mart and Smoke shop in the 100 block of South Reading Road at approximately 5:19pm because they got a call about a child being left unattended in a vehicle. And this, this store is about 65 miles west of Philadelphia. So the cops get there and they locate the boy and guess what? They also located his daddy who was still inside the store. And when he got confronted by the cops, Eddie attempted to explain his long absence by citing a maintenance emergency and claimed that he had experienced issues with the business business's restroom, which he tried to fix. Right. So I'm fixing their form. That's why my kids locked up in a car. The incident he said delayed his return to the car. Well dumbass, you know they're going to have cameras. So the police go look at the video surveillance and it shows the different story. Then it's all in the Rust affidavit, the document said. The Rust affidavit said footage from the store showed Eddie entering the business at 4:24pm and spending the next hour and three minutes playing skill Machines while his child remained outside in the vehicle. The Skill machines are slot machines style gaming terminals typically found in convenience stores, gas stations, bars, smoke shops and social clubs in Pennsylvania. The surveillance record shows that Eddie finally left at the the convenience store at 5:27pm After 63 minutes of playing on the gamma machine. My son was out in the vehicle alone. Here's the kicker. Police further noted the 7 year old placed the 911 call for help and told the dispatcher that his father had left him alone. Well what a dumb ass. This should be a dumb dumb in the court. But thank God the kid didn't die. But he exhaustion or whatever. So the dad was formally charged on March 29 following the review of surveillance evidence. And he was released on five thousand dollar unsecured bail. He's got another court date on May 22nd. Dumbass. It's time for family matters. Here's another winter family domestic situation. We're going to Massachusetts. And they said a Massachusetts man will not see the outside of a prison because he stabbed his wife to death when she planned to leave him. She was going to leave him. And guess who found her body? Their son. So luis Rosado, who's 53, has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after being found guilty of murdering 38 year old Jillian Tetro. And this happened in the Berkshire county in Massachusetts. The sentencing appears to put an end to a herring case stretching back nearly four years.

Rosado Tarot began dating in September 2021. We were married four months later. But if there was a certainty in the relationship in January 2022, it was that it was falling apart. And on May 28, 2020, the husband and wife went to her apartment and it's in North Adams, Massachusetts, which is small city in the western part of the state. She lived on the second floor of the apartment house and the residence was located on a tight and hilly road. So Tetro's neighbor on the first floor reported hearing the couple before the neighbor left for work around 10:15pm that night. About 30 minutes later, Tetro's son arrived at the apartment and saw Rosado leaving. And according to the cops, Rosado told his wife's son that his mother had left the apartment with a friend and then that both of them left right by the following Evening, the son's like, I hadn't heard from my mom. So he went back to the apartment and he entered it and he found her dead. He calls the North Atlas police department and the officer responded and they entered and observed Ms. Tetro lying on her back near the doorway. They said the DA said it was evident that she had suffered from some type of stab wound. And a medical examiner autopsy determined that she had been stabbed 10 times and slashed six times and suffered blunt force trauma to the head. That's crazy. A little bit of overkill. Investigators also gather up evidence from scene, including cell phone data and witness center views. And they determined that Rosada murdered tetro between 10:15pm and 10:42pm on the night of May 28. And they also found out that I was telling back like in January. They, they had a long history of domestic violence. So one of the witnesses stated they overheard Rosado tell his wife days before she was found dead that he would kill her if she left him. And on the evening of May 28, 2022, they were heard arguing before the murder. So it's crazy as hell. And they said, but they, they knew that Jillian was planning to leave on the Tuesday following her murder and that her death is a tragic example of the lethal consequence of domestic violence and the lasting impact these crimes have on families and communities. Which is all true. It's crazy. Kill them, kill them, kill them. Get a divorce. Turned and been cheaper. Now at least I'm going to rest his life in prison. And I got one more for y'. All. This is crazy. It's time for family matters.
Narrator for Railroad Killer Story
Just like a pig. Because this country is like the mother of all countries. And what happens in the U. S can change the entire world.
Interviewer or Commentator on Railroad Killer
So how do you want to change it?
Woody Overton, True Crime Host
With death? With blood?
Narrator for Railroad Killer Story
Yes. This is the only way out. They want to see blood and I give them blood. This is the railroad killer. He evaded the death penalty for years by pleading to be legally insane. And since his arrest, nobody has been able to prove him wrong.
Interviewer or Commentator on Railroad Killer
There is something wrong with him, but does it make him any less morally responsible?
Narrator for Railroad Killer Story
The FBI was, was convinced that out of his 23 victims, none survived. Until one did.
Holly K. Dunn, Railroad Killer Survivor
I'm Holly and I'm the only known survivor of the railroad serial killer.
Narrator for Railroad Killer Story
Assaulted, beaten st and Left for dead. 20 year old Holly K. Dunn came face to face with the infamous railroad killer.
Interviewer or Commentator on Railroad Killer
It was a horror show. Heads beaten to a pulp. Just horrific violence.
Narrator for Railroad Killer Story
But instead of succumbing to her injuries, she became the sole survivor out of his 23 alleged victims, the only one able to stop him.
Interviewer or Commentator on Railroad Killer
From his perspective, she basically came back from the grave to nail him.
Narrator for Railroad Killer Story
Holly was fresh out of her parents house in Indiana, as she had just left for college with her boyfriend in late August 1997.
Holly K. Dunn, Railroad Killer Survivor
I was a student at the University of Kentucky. It was about the second night of classes. It was a Thursday night and I went to a party with my boyfriend Chris Meyer, not far from campus.
Narrator for Railroad Killer Story
Later that night, the two decided to leave to take a walk beside the railroad tracks. It is at this point that they came face to face with a shadowy figure.
Holly K. Dunn, Railroad Killer Survivor
It was very dark and you couldn't see very well. So it was very startling to see someone come out that was crouched behind an electrical box.
Narrator for Railroad Killer Story
The man gave them a menacing look, pulled out a weapon and ran towards them.
Holly K. Dunn, Railroad Killer Survivor
And I, I don't remember being hit. I think he thought he had killed me.
Narrator for Railroad Killer Story
During the assault, she had to go through much more than just getting knocked out. But what really happened that night would only be revealed years later during her attacker's trial. When she eventually woke up, her boyfriend wasn't responsive at all. Holly had to leave him there and went to look for help on her own.
Holly K. Dunn, Railroad Killer Survivor
I was definitely knocked out, but I somehow at some point got up to get help. All I could think was, was go get help.
Paramedic Chad Getz
The night of August 29, 1997, about 2:45 in the morning, we received a call for a female that had been injured.
Narrator for Railroad Killer Story
Behind the phone is Chad Getz, another student. He was studying late until a woman covered in blood broke into his house.
Holly K. Dunn, Railroad Killer Survivor
The screen door was closed. I opened the screen door and walked into this person's house.
Woody Overton, True Crime Host
I was sitting on, sitting him up, chair, studying. And out of the corner of my eye just glimpsed something. Her, her face. It looked like a boxer. Whenever they get cut during a boxing match, I, I thought she was going to die. There was no doubt in my mind.
Narrator for Railroad Killer Story
Despite her broken jaw, Holly was still able to speak. After laying down, she told him that her boyfriend was still down by the tracks.
Holly K. Dunn, Railroad Killer Survivor
And I did keep saying to him, my friend's still out there. I, you know, like be sure they know my, my friend's still out there. My friend's still out there.
Narrator for Railroad Killer Story
Soon after Chad made the call, the police and paramedics arrived and checked up on Holly.
Paramedic Chad Getz
When we walked through the front door, I remember seeing a lot of dry blood on her face and in her hair, had some deformity to her jaw. We found a puncture wound I believe, on her neck. She was able to Tell us her name was Holly and that she'd been. She'd been beaten, and she told us she was hurting.
Narrator for Railroad Killer Story
She gave the paramedics more details about what happened to her and asked them to leave her and go look for Chris instead.
Paramedic Chad Getz
She told us that her friend was down the tracks. One of the paramedics that I was with said he would go down there with the police to find this person. The third paramedic came back. He confirmed us that there was a body down there that had been hit in the head with a rock and that he was a viable for us to call for another ambulance to transport to the hospital. But he whispered it to me so not to. To let the girl know what he had found. So we didn't want to make her situation any worse than it already was.
Narrator for Railroad Killer Story
At the hospital, Holly asking her family about Chris.
Holly K. Dunn, Railroad Killer Survivor
Everyone was told not to talk to me. I just said, chris's dad isn't. And my dad actually is the one that I said that to. And he was like, yes, he died. He was charming and so sweet and kind.
Interviewer or Commentator on Railroad Killer
He was
Holly K. Dunn, Railroad Killer Survivor
just a great guy. When Chris died, I think I felt I didn't understand why I was still alive, alive and why he wasn't.
Narrator for Railroad Killer Story
And this wasn't the only shocking revelation she had to deal with that night, since the police immediately linked the case to more murders.
Holly K. Dunn, Railroad Killer Survivor
At that point, four people had been murdered, and I was the only survivor.
Narrator for Railroad Killer Story
The realization that not only Chris died, but also more people came crashing down as the survivor skilled she felt, was unbearable.
Holly K. Dunn, Railroad Killer Survivor
I started to feel it more. As more and more people were being killed, it grew bigger. You know, all these people were dying by this person, but somehow I lived through it. And why did I live through it?
Narrator for Railroad Killer Story
As he kept killing more and more people, investigators started to lose hope.
Interviewer or Commentator on Railroad Killer
He would not stop. And his mode of transportation using the railroads was brilliant because they couldn't be monitored. I mean, there's thousands of trains and millions of miles of tracks all over the United States.
Narrator for Railroad Killer Story
Devin Anderson, the state prosecutor, discovered that he was a train hopper with multiple aliases.
Interviewer or Commentator on Railroad Killer
If you're willing to sleep in a train and you're willing to sleep in a field, or you can stay lost for a long time. And I did not think we were ever going to catch him.
Narrator for Railroad Killer Story
On the verge of death at the hospital, Holly still wanted to help investigators. And to their surprise, she ended up being extremely helpful to the case. Even if she was weakened by her injuries, she took mental notes of everything she could remember about her attacker's appearance.
Holly K. Dunn, Railroad Killer Survivor
I mean, I Was doing things during the attack, thinking, I'm going to. To burn your face into my memory. I'm going to remember every tattoo you have, every scar you have. I'm going to look on every part of your body and I'm going to know everything about you. Because if I survive this, I'm going to get you.
Narrator for Railroad Killer Story
Despite being disfigured and heavily injured, she survived. But it would take a while before she got a chance to call him out.
Woody Overton, True Crime Host
Y', all, what a. What a hero. You know when you're being raped and you've been stabbed in the neck and your. Your sole goal is, you know what, you got me right now, buddy. But if I live through this, I'm a burn your ass. And this again is about the railroad killer. And y' all can go watch this on unseen U N S E E n. And it's a long video, kind of a. A documentary about it. But let me. Let me tell you what happened to him. He said, I stabbed her like a pig, right? That's what he thought about human life. What happened to the railroad killer?
Narrator or Expert on Angel Macharino Resendes
Angel Macharino Resendes, known as the railroad killer, was a Mexican drifter who committed at least 15 murders near railroad tracks across the United States between 1986 and 1999. He was arrested in July 1999 after surrendering to authorities in El Paso, Texas, and was convicted in 2000 for the 1998 murder of Dr. Claudia Benton in Houston, Texas. Resendiz was sentenced to death and executed by lethal injection on June 27, 2006 at the Huntsville unit in Texas.
Woody Overton, True Crime Host
And there you have it. So Texas gave him the ultimate penalty. All those people he killed in over a long period of years, and he was never going to stop. And the one girl who lived and ultimately testified and got him the ultimate, ultimate penalty. He said, I stabbed her like a pig. But he pretended to be insane all his years. But that's not even that long at a time. That's like eight years. Most death penalty cases are 30 plus years that you sit on death row. But he pretended to be insane, but they got his ass in hell or jail. Yeah, I remember that. I just don't remember all the details of it. But the. That's a lot, a lot of pain and suffering. And these are real people. It's real life, real crime. And I'm Woody Everton, your host of this true crime. Time for May 18, Monday, and I'll holler at you later. Love y'. All. Peace.

Episode Title: Railroad Killer Survivor, Murdaugh Death Penalty & Occult Mom Murder
In this episode, Woody Overton covers a wide range of true crime stories from both national headlines and cases close to home. The episode’s central stories include updates on notorious true crime figures, emerging trial decisions, chilling family crime cases, and a riveting retelling of the Railroad Killer case, including survivor Holly K. Dunn’s account. As always, Woody brings his characteristically unfiltered and conversational style, often mixing dark humor with outrage and empathy for the victims.
“They want to see blood and I give them blood. This is the only way out.” (Narrator quoting Reséndiz, 45:06)
[45:33] Survivor Holly K. Dunn recounts her attack and extraordinary survival—the only known survivor of the Railroad Killer.
Holly and boyfriend Chris Meyer were attacked on the railroad tracks in Kentucky (1997). Chris was murdered; Holly was left for dead but escaped and sought help.
“I was definitely knocked out, but I somehow at some point got up to get help. All I could think was, go get help.”
— Holly K. Dunn, 47:04
“Her face, it looked like a boxer. Whenever they get cut during a boxing match, I thought she was going to die. There was no doubt in my mind.”
— Chad Getz, Paramedic, describing seeing Holly, 47:41
Despite severe injuries, Holly provided a detailed description to authorities and later testified against Reséndiz.
“I was doing things during the attack, thinking, I’m going to burn your face into my memory...Because if I survive this, I’m going to get you.”
— Holly K. Dunn, 51:00
“He pretended to be insane, but they got his ass in hell or jail. That’s a lot, a lot of pain and suffering. These are real people. It’s real life, real crime.” (Woody, 52:52)
On the Murdaugh case:
“If you’re going to put him away for life…give the man a fair trial…when you get a redo like that—holy shit—you better believe they’re really going to pull out all the stops both sides.”
— Woody Overton, 09:14
On the Occult Mom case:
“If you truthfully, truthfully believe that your kid is full of the devil and you had to kill him because it was the devil, then you wouldn’t have any problem telling the cops that.”
— Woody Overton, 16:54
On wildlife trafficking:
“I guess people sell monkeys, too…I don’t get it, but y’all get tired of me saying I don’t get it, but some of this is just so whack.”
— Woody Overton, 30:26

Woody Overton’s delivery is raw, Southern-inflected, and direct—often blending gallows humor with genuine outrage over cruelty and injustice. His unique perspective as a former law enforcement officer infuses each case with added depth, and his compassion for victims and animals is always at the forefront. Even the episode’s darker or bizarre segments are handled with storytelling flair and a commitment to not forgetting the real people behind the headlines.
Absolutely. This episode gives a sweeping look at some of the most urgent, tragic, and bizarre stories on Woody’s radar, peppered with his personal insights and memorable survivor testimony. The centerpiece interview with Railroad Killer survivor Holly K. Dunn is especially moving and highlights the importance of resilience and victim advocacy in true crime storytelling.
