Woody Overton
Welcome to this episode of True Crime. Time for Thursday, September 11, 2025. And I'm Woody Overton.
Cindy Overton
I'm Cindy Overton.
Woody Overton
Back at it again in the saddle. And of course goes without saying. Today 24th. And don't start crying before we even start.
Cindy Overton
I know it hits me hard.
Woody Overton
It does. Me too. But the and many other people. It's the 24th anniversary of the 911 attacks across the United States which changed the world forever, no doubt about it. So we can talk about it real quick and get it out of the way so we can get on some true crime time. And I was a in uniform patrol at the time, about to be a detective and the. I had worked the night shift and I was living all the way across the parish. We had to take our units into the one place to this one auto shop that did all our service and I had to go get the oil change. You had to stay on top of your shift, right? So I got off at 6 o' clock, driving in, it's about, about a 40, 40 minute drive across the parish from, from the south where I was to the north west end to Perry shop. And on the way I was listening to Kid Cradock in the morning and I heard them, they cut in and they said, oh there's a tragedy, a plane just hit the World Trade Center. At the time they were speculating like it was, you know, small plane or what. They, nobody had any idea. But by the time I got to the shop, I got out on my walk to check in, they had a TV on the wall and I saw the Twin Towers and I didn't realize I was already seeing smoke. But then the, I saw this plane hit, crash into the tower and I thought they were showing a replay but it wasn't. It was actually the second plane and it started. That's one of the only things I have PTSD about that period of time and Hurricane Katrina and Rita and I don't have any more to say about it. It changed the world forever. Just. Yeah, I don't know. It is what it is.
Cindy Overton
Well, I can't speak without crying, so I just want to say that thoughts and prayers are for everyone that's still affected by it every single day.
Woody Overton
And then said, but you always say, what do you do every year on 9 11?
Cindy Overton
On 911 every year since the first anniversary, I called those that are most important in my life and tell them that I love them because so many people did not get that opportunity that day. And I never want to take that for granted. And I figure I thought on the first anniversary that's the way that I could honor those that lost their lives and continue, you know, for our military to protect us and keep what we do have. But honestly it's very difficult for me to do that because, you know, it reopens the wounds. That's what I spend my day doing. And over the years my, my circle has become much Tighter. But I do love each and every one of you. And I want you to know that. And that's all I have to say.
Woody Overton
Yep. Prayers and for everybody, you know, certainly in the morning, to change the world forever, including TSA to what have you. But all the firefighters and the first responders and the policemen and everybody that rushed to the towers and died, all the heroes on the planes that fought back against hijackers and, you know, all the stories of people calling from the plane and that they knew they were the plane had been hijacked and then they were all the wars that came afterwards. So. But, you know, God let it happen for a reason. And we'll never forget. All right, so let's get on some true crime time for Today, Thursday.
Cindy Overton
Yes.
Woody Overton
September 11th.
Cindy Overton
So I almost printed up this story, but it's not a crime. But there was a story that came across my feed this morning of these three people describing dates that they recently had. And they were describing these dates. And it was dates with AI Just so I could show you what the craziness that's out there. This one person went skydiving. Another person went on a romantic date, but it's all through like fake AI.
Woody Overton
How's that a crime?
Cindy Overton
That's why I said, that's why I said I didn't print it up and tell the story because it's not a crime.
Woody Overton
But it's your telling.
Cindy Overton
Well, I'm telling it, but I'm not like telling the whole story. So I have a good story, I guess. The remains of a Colorado woman who vanished in 2005 while on a wilderness hike have been found after nearly 20 years.
Woody Overton
Always hope. Hashtag, just for Bradley. Hashtag just for AO, just Ms. Barbara Blind. And hashtag just for Haley is coming.
Cindy Overton
So Michelle Vanek was 35 year old mother of four at the time. She was from Lakewood, Colorado, and she was last seen on September 24th of 2005.
Woody Overton
Wow.
Cindy Overton
While attempting to climb the Mount of the Holy Cross, which is a 4,14,007 foot tall peak in the state's vast wilderness. And we're in Colorado.
Woody Overton
Yeah. You ever see me climbing something? No. If you ever see me climbing something, it's be a deer stand if you ever see me climbing mountains because something's chasing me.
Cindy Overton
Right. So Vaneck was battling with a difficult ascent and she took the wrong turn and experienced altitude sickness. She instructed Eric Sawyer, who was a family friend who had accompanied her on this mission, this trek up, you know, up the peak, to proceed with the climb while she recuperated and they determined a meeting location, he continued onward, but when he got back to where they had said, like where she disappeared, like when he got back down and they're leading their meeting location, she was not there. So for the following 20 years, there wasn't a single clue about the mother they could find nothing. She disappeared without a trace. But a local pastor experienced a mysterious dream in the autumn of 2023. And Pastor Scott Beebe, who also serves with the local mountain rescue team and had participated in the initial, initial search for Vanek, had an unusual nocturnal vision in which the missing mother appeared to him with a specific plea. And the quote is, she told me she wanted to be found by a team of women. And Beebe was initially doubtful, explaining, every guy I've told about the dream tells me I'm nuts. Every woman, they all say, yeah, of course. So however, when Bib shared the news of the dream with the next husband, Ben, he instantly accepted it as genuine. And he characterized his wife as deeply spiritual and very religious person. And he stated for her to come to Scott Beebe and say that he said that was her, like he knew that was her. So a group of six women from Vail Mountain Rescue formed a team, and they began to reassess their search strategy despite Vinnek's disappearance, prompting the largest ever search for the lost hawk hiker in Colorado's history. The initial search had 800 individuals in it. There wasn't a single clue found. But this rescue team started by pinpointing shortcomings in the initial search. So primarily, the large area of the mountain's northeast side had never really been explored. So they used advanced mapping technology to scan it, and the women formulated a plan. In September of 2024, a year after Beebs dream, the all female rescue team with a squad member named Erica Germany went out on the difficult to search ravine on the northeastern side with her partner, Zach Smith. And they stumbled upon a red fabric and a blue mitten and a ski pole and a backpack and all of those believed to belong to Vanek. So they didn't discover any bones. But the duo, the search team reported their findings to the local sheriff, and the local sheriff later returned. And they unearthed bones and personal items which they hoped would lead to DNA identification. But then they stumbled upon an intact spine and neck bone at the entrance of a nearby cave. And it happened to have a lavender beaded necklace on it. And it was proven that that was in fact the woman that they were looking for. So authorities sent a photograph of the jury to Ben who instantly recognized it and it was a gift he had given to Michelle during their vacation in Las Vegas. And he said when we saw that we all started crying. So. This discovery allowed authorities to dismiss any assumption of foul play which had been speculated earlier in the investigation. Examination of the bones revealed injuries consistent with a steep fall. Aiding the rescue team and the sheriff's office and finally piecing together a timeline of what might have happened to Michelle. Isn't that crazy?
Woody Overton
That is crazy.
Cindy Overton
It reminded me there's a lot more to the story but of when you had trigeminal and Dr. Surik had been golfing and he was not a dean but deacon and he just came in on a Sunday morning and said I was golfing and I was like by myself. And I just had this. It came to me like an epiphany of what was wrong with me.
Woody Overton
God, he said. God told me.
Cindy Overton
God told me. Yeah. So.
Woody Overton
And this is after all the best in the world. World. He hadn't been my doctor forever. All the best neurologists. And everybody was ready to cut. No, no, no, no. That was long time for that. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with me.
Cindy Overton
Right.
Woody Overton
And he came in and said trigeminal neuralgia. So interesting. And that lady is about to get blown up. Like when I get blown up now from people across the country every day that will me to solve their loved ones cold case.
Cindy Overton
Right.
Woody Overton
And so she's going to get. And hopefully she can do more. I never turned down anything. Somebody calls psychics call in Ms. Barbara's case, whatever. Like I'm listening.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
And a lot of times they're. They're pretty close to what we're thinking. I'm glad they got got her home to put her to rest. Right.
Cindy Overton
Right.
Woody Overton
So there you have that foreign family matters. It's time for worldwide crime. Going to Brazil. It's a great story. Right. And yeah they had cops went to a house in Brazil and what do you think they found?
Cindy Overton
Drugs.
Woody Overton
Yeah. Wish I'm about to make you cry.
Cindy Overton
Jeez.
Woody Overton
They found a six year old girl who was kept locked inside her room her whole entire life. Six years. A child who was found in the state of neglect was removed from her parents care after the cops received the anonymous tip about her welfare and scored in Brazilian news Universal online. She never attended school, had not received any vaccinations and didn't know how to speak. Locked in a cave entire life. Why not just kill her? Put her out of her misery. So the naturally authorities rescued her from the family and the family's home and it's in the city of Sorokaba in the San Paulo state. The talking about the the state the 6 year old was found in, Child protection counselors Liga Guerra said the girl was very apathetic and dazzled by everything. I guess so she'd never seen anything. She added the child's hair was tangled and look as it had never been washed six years not comb never washed it, never washed it so according to Garrett, the girl had not eaten anything that day and the police confirmed she only ate liquids for six years did.

She is also said to have communicated with counselors and police officers through sounds right grunting because you don't know how to talk. After they took her from her parents care, the six year old was sent to the hospital to undergo a medical examination and was afterwards put into a children's home. Her parents have been arrested and charged with unlawful detention and remain in police custody. According to the police chief Renata Zanin, the mother cannot grasp the gravity of the situation. Like your ass is in a crack you are I I don't anyway. They also said when they interrogate Gator, she said she gave evasive answers and showed no remorse whatsoever. This she doesn't deserve to breathe. No so this horrific incident comes months after a couple were arrested for alleged child abuse in Spain. And we talked about this after police raided a house and found three boys that lived there alone for four years. Remember that? The neighbors were feeding themselves. Spanish police said the house was in disgusting state with hordes of rubbish and mounds of accumulated medicines and the surface were covered in filthy pet excrement. And the family also had a cat with a massive tumor. And then that case, the children, two 8 year old twin boys and their 10 year old brother were found wearing nappies and discovered they were forced to sleep in cage beds. Fucking crazy. The house of horrors, as investigators called it, was discovered in a video which is a Capital city of Austria and northern Spain. The three young boys naturally were freed and they had lived in the house for four years since the COVID crisis. So the, the parents said their motivation for keeping the children locked in their own home yet is they didn't say. But the youngsters were all wearing three face masks each when they were discovered.
Cindy Overton
Yeah, I remember that.
Woody Overton
Yeah. Anyway, the, the mom was American, she's 48 years old and she told the police in that case that she and her German husband, who's 58, thought it was the best way to keep him safe.
Cindy Overton
So anyway, but the Brazilian woman is just what the.
Woody Overton
Well, parents, six years old and I remember that. Oh, it's like a philosophy class I took University of Tennessee. The and about. If you were born in a dark cave and he never had anyone talk to you or whatever, but you've, you know, naturally you got to eat and drink and you healthy, you just lived in a dark cave and then one day you got to walk out into the light.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
That's amazing.
Cindy Overton
Yeah, yeah.
Woody Overton
But it's horrible for that baby. I gotta ask, does Brazil have the death penalty?
Cindy Overton
Here's what I found.
Woody Overton
They deserve it. Capital punishment is a long unused form of punishment in Brazil. The last recorded instance of the death penalty convict being executed was in 1876. Although virtually abolished, it is still legal during wartime. Whatever.
Cindy Overton
Well, that's a war.
Woody Overton
Yes.
Cindy Overton
Poor little girls. Well, I wish that little girl didn't.
Woody Overton
Know how to talk or do anything. She doesn't know how to do anything?
Cindy Overton
No.
Woody Overton
Nothing. Never had her hair washed in her entire life.
Cindy Overton
No.
Woody Overton
Which means she never had a bath.
Cindy Overton
No.
Woody Overton
That's up.
Cindy Overton
It is. And I wish her the best. And the best, of course, for this. I mean, I'm just saying.
Woody Overton
Yeah, Your turn. Spread some joy. I'm gonna have her crying all day, y', all. So just bear with us. Foreign family matters.
Cindy Overton
We have a 73 year old man. We were talking about this, I think it was yesterday. About. At what point does an old person decide they're going to be good? Like if they're like a lifetime offender. Yeah.
Woody Overton
Once a shit had always.
Cindy Overton
So this 73 year old man is going to prison after being found guilty for raping his partner's daughter for 14 years.
Woody Overton
Nice.
Cindy Overton
In June of 2024, Pablo Salazar Ramirez punched his partner in the face, prompting the woman's daughter to call 911 and we're in Marion County. I forgot to say where we were. So when officers arrived to respond to the 911 call, the woman's daughter, who was a minor at the time, told the female deputy that Salazar Ramirez had been sexually abusing her. An official said the girl told deputies she didn't disclose the abuse out of fear of Salazar Ramirez's threats. Whatever, which, which is always the case where people was like, I'm not, like they're too afraid. But she figured during this 911 call, now my mom's been hit. I'm going to disclose everything here because they're here and I know I can be safe. Although Deputy District Attorney Katherine semple requested a 30 year sentence, the defense team requested a 10 year sentence due to Salazar Ramirez's age and health conditions. Who gives a flippity flop? Salazar Ramirez was charged with rape, sexual abuse, extortion, coercion, unlawful use of a weapon and assault constituting domestic violence. And he was sentenced to 25 years in prison and must register as a sex offender. But why? I mean I hope he doesn't. I mean I hope he doesn't live to get out of prison for the 25 year sentence.
Woody Overton
I don't know. Who knows these days, right? Well, let's go to Maryland, see if I could play a little video for y'. All.
Grainger Announcer
Meanwhile, a man who authorities say is in the US illegally now stands accused in the killing of a 19 year old woman in Maryland. Takara Thompson's body was found last week days after her family reported her missing. Authorities now charging Hugo Hernandez Mendez with first and second degree murder in her death. They say that Thompson was killed inside the suspect's bedroom and there is surveillance video of her getting into a car that he had access to. Now detectives are trying to determine if the two knew each other.
Woody Overton
So let me give that was a very short. Let me give the real details y' all said this guy from Maryland and has been arrested and charged and killing the 19 year old who was reported missing last month from Prince George County's police. Hugo Hernandez men Mendes who's 35 years old old a Bowie is charged with first and second degree murder and the death of Dakar Thompson of Lanham. On August 31, Maryland State Police discovered a body and neighboring an Ardoon county and their remains were later identified as Thompson which prompted a joint investigation with the county detectives. Investigator said they naturally that they surveillance footage showed Thompson approaching a black SUV in the early morning hours of August 23rd and she talked to the driver and then she got in the vehicle. Right. Police said the SUV went to a home in the 12000 block of Cambridge driving Bowie where after they searched it Evidence indicates she was killed in a bedroom. Now Hernandez Mendez had access to the SUV and lived in the bedroom where the killing occurred. Detectives are working to determine whether Hernandez Mendez and Thompson knew each other before August 23rd. In the Office of the chief medical examiner has not released the cause of that released the cause of death but investigators said they expect the case to be ruled a homicide and of course Mendez being held out bond. Now I said that Mendez is an illegal alien from Guatemala and they also issued a detainer for him said Hugo Hernandez Mendez is an illegal alien from Guatemala has been charged with first and second degree murder and the gruesome death of 19 year old Dakar Thompson. I of course I told you. Has issued a detainer for this criminal illegal alien. Injustice will be served for this Maryland family. That's what I said. In a social media statement Maryland governor West Moore released a statement on Thompson's death saying she was taken from us by an act of census senseless violence and crazy. Yeah it sounds like here's a picture of this idiot.
Cindy Overton
Nice.
Woody Overton
Sounds like it's a. At that time in the morning might have been a high risk victim. Right. Or maybe she was broke down and. And it doesn't matter. Everybody. Nobody deserves to be murdered and everybody deserves justice and Maryland does not have the death penalty.
Cindy Overton
Yeah. So wow.
Woody Overton
Murders everywhere.
Cindy Overton
Every.
Woody Overton
And then it just comes like statistics. You hear the stories and. And you know, doesn't even. This girl's life doesn't even warrant 20 seconds on the knees.
Cindy Overton
Yeah. Literally. It's so sad. Really really sad that. But there's so much. I mean I. I'm almost guilty of it. I get desensitized to certain things too. Although I'm still very sensitive. I catch myself.
Woody Overton
Maybe you are the most sensitive person in the history of the world.
Cindy Overton
So we have a man. We're going to Arizona and we have a man who was described by police as manipulative and charismatic. And he's being hunted after he allegedly because he's still being hunted murdered a 67 year old man inside of his home. The suspect's name is Matthew Derringer and he's 35 and he's had a very lengthy criminal history. He's accused of killing his roommate's dogs when he lived in Colorado.
Woody Overton
Nice.
Cindy Overton
He's wanted in connection with what Scottsdale police have called a targeted killing of a 67 year old man named Frank Carranta inside his home. And police say they were called to Caranta's home for a welfare check on Monday around 1:30am when he did not show up for work. So responding officers were unable to contact the victim obviously any other way. So they had to have like they were trying to contact him to open the door and they had to have forced injury.
Woody Overton
Obviously, he's dead. You can't answer the door.
Cindy Overton
Well, they didn't know that when you.
Woody Overton
Responded, sorry, I can't answer the door right now. I'm dead. I've been murdered.
Cindy Overton
They didn't know that they responded to the welfare check.
Woody Overton
Mr. We talk about welfare checks all the time. That's why they were being checked on, because they're dead.
Cindy Overton
So tragically, guess what? They found a dead man. That's right. And officers and crime scene specialists spent the next several hours combing through the evidence. And it's still unclear how he was killed and what the connection he has with Derringer. But authorities say the suspect has a history of homelessness and has been described as, as I said at the beginning of the story, manipulative and charismatic, often befriending others to assist him with a place to stay. This is, this is the man that they're looking for.
Woody Overton
Nice.
Cindy Overton
So it seems that Derringer had lived in Colorado for a time before he moved to Arizona.
Woody Overton
That's where he killed the dogs.
Cindy Overton
Yes. And a history of arrest for assault, criminal mischief and burglary. Court records also show that at least one family member obtained a protective order against him in 2020. That's when he was accused of killing the dogs. The Teller County Sheriff's Office said it was called for a Welfare check on June 25th of 2020 after the dog's owner said he received a concerning message from Derringer. But that when they arrived to the mobile home, they found the walls were covered in blood and spotted with multiple holes.
Woody Overton
Might be a sign.
Cindy Overton
And one spot looked like a body had been slammed up against it. So officers also found the words south park edged onto like etched onto a TV screen. And neighbors told investigators that Derringer claimed he was working on a South park movie.
Woody Overton
Nice.
Cindy Overton
As the deputies continued to search, they found a 6 inch black tail with a white tip severed and submerged in the water. And the owner of the dogs positively identified the tail as belonging to his dog. And deputies also said they found a blue plastic tote containing the other dog's remains outside of the mobile home, as well as tooth fragments and black dog hair in the bathtub drain. I mean, he is completely messed up. And they show pictures of the dogs. The investigation continued, and neighbors in the area Reported hearing yelling and seeing Derringer in an enraged mental state. And police in Arizona now say anyone who spots the murder suspect should not approach him and should instead call 911 immediately. And then they describe him. He's blonde hair, blue eyes and around 6 foot 3 inches tall. So that's that story.
Woody Overton
Well, there you have it. Dog killer and talking about being desensitized. People sometimes get more upset about the animals than the people. I guess it's because you don't hear as much about the animals being killed as you do the people. Right? So go on. It's time for family matters to the great state of Michigan. And let me tell you something.
Cindy Overton
The.
Woody Overton
The story is bizarre. The, the defense this guy has now, you know, I got some people think I'm hard on you, like on the radio, on the show and stuff like that, but I'm not.
Cindy Overton
But you are.
Woody Overton
But you are. And. But you know what? Then let me get this piece of paper out. I had this drawn up specific for you. I'll tell them about it afterwards. And you're going to sign it. All right, so. September 3rd, 2025, a Michigan court sentenced Christopher Palazzo, who's a 44 year old man from Williamson, to up to 80 years in prison for the abuse and torture of his wife Elise, and which ultimately the abuse and torture caused her to die in May of 2021. So. But during the trial, Palozo defense centered around, you never get it. A so called waiver consent form that he claimed Elise had signed which permitted him to physically discipline her for lying. The document outlined punishments such as cutting her with a knife and choking and spanking her with a wooden spoon or a wire hanger. Right. You don't have anything like that in place?
Cindy Overton
No, but I don't lie either. Oh, if I signed a waiver to not be abused, I just, if I lied, then I just wouldn't lie.
Woody Overton
Well, that didn't evidently didn't work in this dude's mind. And the prosecutor said that the form was fake and did not justify by the severe abuse that Elise suffered.
Cindy Overton
Nothing justifies it.
Woody Overton
At the Citizen, Judge Aqualina delivered a powerful statement condemning Palazzo acts, saying you have a duty, an elevated duty as a husband to protect her, to help her to dial 91 1. And you did nothing. All right, so. And back in 2021, Elise's official cause of death was a drug overdose. But her death was ruled suspicious due to the discovery of unusual bruising on her body. Sound like Austin Opanion. A subsequent investigation revealed evidence of abuse and torture inflicted by Christopher before she died. Now, although the exact cause of death could not be conclusively determined, the circumstances surrounding her demise and led to charges against her husband. Well, I wish we had those. These prosecutors in burning pairs.
Cindy Overton
Right.
Woody Overton
Palazzo's trial revealed extensive evidence of abuse, including injuries in various stages of healing, some of which were consistent with being caused by a metal hanger or pellets from an airsoft gun.
Cindy Overton
No.
Woody Overton
Yeah. Prosecutors also presented testimony of Christopher's long history of controlling and abusive behavior. So, first of all, I don't own an air pellet gun. Yeah. I couldn't tell you the last time I touched a wire hanger other than to take clothes off of it.
Cindy Overton
You don't have hot. We don't have wire hangers in this house.
Woody Overton
All right, there you go. And so you don't get any of that. But anyway, Judge Ackland, it's not really funny. Judge Akalina added in court, if you didn't want to call 91 1, you call her parents, you call her sister. Hundreds of people in the community would have come to your door and helped you. You could have made a phone call. What do I do? I'm sure the answer would have been to call 91 1. But you didn't do that. You didn't care. You watched her slowly die. Isn't that crazy?
Cindy Overton
That is horrible. And to. If she did sign such a paper, it was under duress, obviously. And I'm just trying to bring it back to this poor victim. And I can't imagine living in that life because there's nothing. I mean, he just was going to find any way to beat the living mess out of it.
Woody Overton
I can promise you, you wouldn't live in that life. And goes back to my four, which is. I'm not hard on you because you wouldn't put up with any of that. Right?
Cindy Overton
Well, no, you're not. You. You are. You would never hurt me. Like, absolutely. Right. So, no. I mean, yes. Trying to find the right words. But no, you. You have. You wish about.
Woody Overton
You're the best husband ever.
Cindy Overton
I know. Because I'm trying to defend you. Because you. I don't think you wish that I was less sensitive, like, because I think.
Woody Overton
You don't have to defend me. I. I know. I mean, it was a joke.
Cindy Overton
Okay.
Woody Overton
Okay, Sue. That being said, in Austin Abanian's case, in Bradley's case, we talk about. Well, yeah, basically both of them, because I think he got killed because of some interactions with these people. But we're gonna go to Chicago all right, and guess what? It involves the story. A cartel member. Right. So a federal grand jury in Chicago has indicted an accused violent cartel boss on narco terrorism, drug and firearms charges. And this court in the u. S. Attorney's office for the northern district of Illinois, Oscar manuel gastelin ebre, also known as el musico. That's right, is el chapo. And el musico is the head of the beltran leva organization known as the blo, which is a major importer of fentanyl cocaine and heroin to Chicago and across the United states. Now, the blo is a faction of guess whom, that one sonola cartel, even vernon parish to all the way to Chicago. Right. So. And it's considered a foreign terrorist organization according to the indictment. So ebre, or what I say his name was, el musico oversaw the importation and continue trafficking of drugs by attacking rivals, military personnel and law enforcement.
Cindy Overton
That's really scary.
Woody Overton
Yeah, I don't care.
Cindy Overton
All the military is up there.
Woody Overton
Yeah, well, they started all this killing everybody in the daylight in Mexico. Now they bring it. Same tactic. Hey, it works down here. Let's work it up here. He's 50 years old and I told you, he's charged with terrorism, drug and firearm expenses, and he faces life in prison. And get that in Mexico. The cartel boss is not in custody, not in ot and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Good luck with that. So they said today's narco terrorism indictment of el musico sends a powerful message that this administration is going to aggressively pursue transnational criminal organizations and hold their highest ranking members and associates accountable for poisoning the american public with illegal and harmful drugs. And this. Andrew s. Boutros, the unit u. S. Attorney for the northern district of illinois. You know, I. I totally agree with that. And I get it. I said years ago, before anybody, it didn't matter who was in office, I said this. The. They're literally they're bringing this across. Of course, yes. You know, people are taking or whatever and they're dying, but they're bringing it across. What if that's no different than if a foreign national from another country in my mind came over and just killed that person. Yeah, it's. They're doing it and they're making money off of it. Billions of dollars.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
And I was like, it was. I was thinking about writing a book at time where, where the president actually was like, it, yeah, we're going to declare war on these people. And we're going. Which is you can't go naturally into other countries and Attack. Right. Because that really would be like war. War. But you. We're gonna attack these dudes.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
And. And go. And just wipe their ass out.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
And yes, there will always be more to pop up. You know what? Kill them too. I just kill them.
Cindy Overton
Swift and certain. You always say that. Make the punishment swift.
Woody Overton
Swift and certain. And now they're. I think it's off the coast of Venezuela or somewhere. Like, they're. They're bombing Norco boats in. In international waters. Like blowing them up. Like, no more stop and let's board you and put you in prison. They. They are literally firing missiles in these and killing them.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
I'm pretty sure if I weighed in my hand, like in the last two days, there have been 10 boats blown up by missiles that they couldn't even see coming.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
And I'm gonna weigh out that I can make $10,000 for taking my speedboat running across and dropping off this dope. Or. And take high probability. Right. Because it's infrared at night time. They can see them running. They know they can see the boats are lower. They can see everything. Basically.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
The. And I'm thinking, I'm pretty sure there's like a 99 point chance if I take off tonight. I'm gonna get a missile up my ass.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
I'm not doing it.
Cindy Overton
Okay, so let me ask you this. During Prohibition, moonshine became a big deal.
Woody Overton
It started all organized crime. And after Prohibition, they used the same trade routes to run gambling and prostitution and everything else illegal.
Cindy Overton
Exactly. And then my mind goes to present day, like, with what were they making ice or whatever. And Breaking Bad where you get all the different.
Woody Overton
Methamphetamine.
Cindy Overton
Okay. Meth, you can. That you can buy all of this stuff to make meth in your local store.
Woody Overton
Not anymore, but yeah, go ahead.
Cindy Overton
If you know the right. I mean, if you have certain people go in with their driver's license and get. I mean, there's a way to make it happen. Well, meth.
Woody Overton
Not. And make billions of dollars like these people are doing that.
Cindy Overton
That was going to be my next question.
Woody Overton
And that is our sole job.
Cindy Overton
Yeah. I'm just saying where there's a will, there's a way. No matter if we. If we get rid of. I'm coming. I know you're mad at my dialogue or what I'm arguing, but if we get rid of them over there with their drugs coming into our country, obviously people here are going to find a way to make drugs and get what they want. The addiction still lives.
Woody Overton
And I said that in the beginning.
Cindy Overton
I know, I'm circling back.
Woody Overton
It's always going to pop up. But lease wouldn't be foreign nationals making billions of dollars off of the thousands of people that die every day from drug overdoses.
Cindy Overton
I agree. So around 2pm on August 13th of this year, police in Auburn, Massachusetts responded to a report that two women had shoplifted more than $2,000 worth of merchandise from a TJ Maxx.
Woody Overton
I don't think I've ever been in TJ Maxx.
Cindy Overton
I was fixing to say that. So the suspects fled the scene in a black Ford Edge and they thought that they just made a clean getaway. Well, instead of driving far, the pair, the girls that just sold the $2,000 worth of stuff just drove through to a Wendy's. They decided they needed a snack.
Woody Overton
Yeah, right.
Cindy Overton
So officers on the lookout because they knew the description of the car spotted the vehicle in line at the Wendy's and quickly like moved closer to them. The two women were identified as 38 year old Dominique Marion and 24 year old Tinajah Williams. And they were arrested on the spot in the Wendy's and charged with larceny over twelve hundred dollars and conspiracy. And the police, you know, sheriff's offices and police departments are making like funny things on Facebook, like they make funny posts now. So the officers, they put up a thing and it says felonies do not come with a side of fries.
Woody Overton
That's funny.
Cindy Overton
But searching their car, they turned up evidence of even broader wrongdoing. They had stolen from many, many stores in the area. And so anyway, felonies do not come with a side of fries.
Woody Overton
Yep. And I always said prisons are full of dumb criminals.
Cindy Overton
Yes.
Woody Overton
Right. It's hard to catch this smart one. But they do get caught, thankfully sometimes.
Cindy Overton
Yeah.
Woody Overton
So again, 911 will never forget and I all you lifers out there just didn't live through it or were too young to remember the. I mean, no idea how to change the world. No idea how it changed every.
Cindy Overton
Got goosebumps.
Woody Overton
Everything.
Cindy Overton
Everything.
Woody Overton
All right. Not gonna let you cry again before the end of the show. All right. And do you have anything else?
