Authorities have arrested and charged former Vegas youth pastor David Vander Meer with first degree murder for the 2006 death of his wife Bernadette. According to police, David and Bernadette were on a sunrise anniversary hike in Zion National Park when Bernadette fell 1200 feet to her death. 33-year-old Michelle Zajko has been charged with murdering her parents on her 30th birthday: New Year’s Eve 2022. Zajko is a member of the cult like group, the Zizians, who have ties to at least six homicides according to police. Prosecutors announced that doorbell camera footage, along with ballistics and cell phone data show Zajko participated in shooting both of her parents in the head shortly after her mom reached out via text to reconcile and wish her a happy birthday. The body of 39-year-old personal trainer Elena Moore was discovered nearly a week after she went missing, and now a full week later, police still don’t have any answers into how or why Moore died. Preliminary autopsy results show no physical trauma and did not reveal a cause of death. Also, several cryptic social media posts made by Moore in the months and weeks leading up to her death suggest she was suffering a painful heartbreak, although police have said Moore’s husband, who reported her missing, is not a person of interest in her death. 74-year-old Dusty Ray Spencer is scheduled to die by lethal injection on Thursday, which will make him the oldest man ever executed in the state of Florida. Spencer’s attorneys have made a last ditch appeal to the Supreme Court, citing cruel and unusual punishment towards a 74-year-old man suffering from significant medical conditions. Spencer was convicted for the 1992 brutal stabbing and beating death of his wife Karen in front of her teenage son. Her murder led to significant changes in the way police and state courts address domestic violence. 63-year-old Richard Glossip was back in court yesterday asking a judge to set a new preliminary hearing to determine whether there was enough evidence for prosecutors to proceed with a third trial. The judge refused and instead set a September trial date for the former death row inmate whose murder conviction was thrown out by the Supreme Court last year. Glossip has maintained his innocence for the 1997 killing of his boss, motel owner Barry Van Treese. It’s become an unexpected sensation during the World Cup: Ranch dressing!
