On a very Star Wars centric episode, the Regular Joe's start off with their usual round of Random Topics including the upcoming Wonderfest convention in Louisville KY. Then, Dave and Barry share their thought on the first new Star Wars movie in seven years to make it to the big screen, The Mandalorian and Grogu. Did it meet their expectations like a pair of proton torpedoes hitting a 2-meter thermal exhaust port or just impact on the surface (hey…if you know, you know). There's also a round of What's in the box with a few highly anticipated items finally joining their collections. Dont forget to check out this weeks sponsors, Fanboy Collectibles, Danger Island Models and From Dave's Workshop, links in the description below. As always, thanks for watching and listening! This week, the Regular Joe's are joined by the Irregular Joes / semi regular co-hosts Brian Mix and Derryl DePriest to celebrate the Podcasts milestone 13 year anniversary. Yes, thats right…13 years and 620 episodes…and we still havent run out things to talk about…or maybe we did 12 years ago but we kept going anyway! On a Random Topics filled show, we touch on the upcoming Wonderfest model making convention that Dave, Barry and Brian will be attending, the latest with the "Land the Galileo Shuttlecraft" kickstarter project. Derryl makes the official announcement of the big GI Joe Real American Hero toy auction coming up through Heritage auction featuring items from the Derryl DePriest collection, if you are a collector of that toy line you will not want to miss it! The guys also share their expectations for the Mandalorian and Grogu movie and more. There's also a round of What's in the Box. 13 years is no small achievement in the world of Podcasting. This week, the Regular Joe's take a look at two Disney+ series about men in red and black. Or one guy who wears red and black, and another who is red and black. Maul Shadow Lord, we're not supposed to call him Darth Maul anymore, gives further dimension to a Star Wars character most thought was out of the picture 27 years ago. Who knew getting bisected isn't necessarily fatal. Shadow Lord is an animated series that is clearly not for kids, but it's also clearly awesome. Daredevil Born Again's sophomore season more than corrected the numerous shortcomings of the first. It's been extremely well received by critics and fans alike, giving viewers a whole lot more of what they were looking for - unless like Barry and Dave you're looking for something a little different. There's also a rare What's on my Workbench update, and the usual random topics. Thanks for watching, and listening! There's also a round of What's Own The Box…because these guys cant stop adding to their collections even if they tried! Thanks for watching, and listening! This week, the Regular Joes along with our good friend and semi-regular co-host Brian Mix travel to Bridgeport Connecticut to visit Poster Conservation. Owner Lee Milazzo and his team of artisans conserve, restore and repair posters of all sizes and types so they look as good as they day they were printed, and will last the test of time! They can even work their magic on some posters that most people would think were beyond repair. Lee gives us a full tour of the shop and a demo of each process they use to conserve and restore these posters…including some processes that seem counter intuitive or even destructive to "old paper"; but they have mastered their techniques over the past 33 years to being these pieces of art back to life. Towards the end of the episode, Lee reveals a poster that Brian had restored by the team, and we get to see his reaction to their amazing work in real time. You won't want to miss this, even if you are not a poster nerd like Barry and Dave, I promise you will be amazed by what they can do! Thanks for watching, and listening! In the realm of film props there are collectors, and then there was the late Bob Burns. Over the course of his lifetime, through friends, coworkers, and industry connections, Bob assembled an unparalleled cache of screen used sci-fi and horror film items. Perhaps the only thing more inspiring than the treasure trove he amassed was the kindness and generosity he and his wife Kathy showed towards folks with common interests. This week the Regular Joes recognize the life and legacy of Bob Burns through the memories of two of his many friends; Tom Spina of Regal Robot and Tom Spina Designs, and author John Michlig, who literally wrote the book on Bob. It Came from Bob's Basement. Thanks for watching, and listening! Amaze! Amaze! Amaze! The eagerly anticipated film adaptation of Andy Weir's 2021 novel Project Hail Mary is finally in theaters. We'll cut to the chase, it's awesome. This week, Barry, Dave, and Tod, joined by Brian Mix, talk about the film, based on a book, and in some cases audiobook, they all love. If you're in no way familiar with the story there will be SPOILERS. But if that's the case, you really need to do something about that soon. And once you'll seen it, you'll know why these four Regular Joe's give the film four downturned thumbs. There's also the usual Random Topics, and a round of What's in the Box. This week, The Regular Joe's take a last look at the first season of the newest Star Trek spinoff series, Starfleet Academy. Dismissed by many as part of NU Trek "(aka not my Star Trek) Academy presents a starting point for new viewers as well as new cadets. Is it perfect? No, it is not. But there's enough good there to be hopeful for the future. And isn't that what Star Trek is supposed to be about? Firefly, another canceled before it peaked sci-fi series, hopes to return in animated form. While this is not exactly the news everyone was hoping for, any chance to get this particular band back together is welcome. There's also the usual random topics in a Round of What's in the box. Thanks for listening, or watching … no pressure. This week Barry, Dave, and Tod check out the catalog for the upcoming Prop Store Entertainment Memorabilia Auction. There are a lot of familiar offerings, but also several new things worth taking out a second mortgage for, like C-3PO's head, a legendary broken sword, or maybe fishing gear from the worst fishing trip ever. Even if you're not laying down big money, it's fun to play. What if … There's also the usual random topics, including speculation on the Firefly announcement we will be hearing about very soon. And as they continue to acknowledge the 60th anniversary of Star Trek, one host seems to be weakening on his life long The Motion Picture position. Thanks for watching, and listening!
