Although the first degree program in music therapy in America was developed by Michigan State University in 1944, music was already being used for healing purposes in the late 1700s, more than 200 years ago. It has been proven that music therapy reduces anxiety and the physical effects of stress. It improves healing, helps manage Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease, reduce depression and the symptoms of psychological disorders, and improves self-expression and communication.

Joining us today is Roxanne Christian, to tell us more about this fascinating healing technique and its multiple benefits. She is a talented music therapist who graduated from Berklee College of Music with a BA in Music Therapy and the Founder and Owner of Live Love Life Music.
