the drama, all the strategy and silliness from VO to HOH every single season, you know, he is the reason, you know what's happening, happening. Rob said that he could do it tomorrow. He will do it again. Hello everyone and good morning. Welcome to our live feed update for July 17th. I'm your host Aaron Armstrong and I'm here to update you on everything that happened yesterday on the big brother 28 live feeds. It was day 10 in the house and we had an eviction. We have a new HOH and we have quite a lot to talk about because the new HOH decided to basically do one on ones all through the night and, and then a lot of stuff, a lot of stuff going down with me to talk through all that stuff. It's Puya. How you doing?
Puya
Puya Day 10. And it's a 10 out of 10. Like what a time to be alive. Honestly, Taran, I'm not going to lie to you. I was a little skeptical last night. I definitely bought into the idea that we were going to go to bed empty handed, not fed. And maybe potentially we overate last night, but in a very good way, in a very satisfying manner. I'm excited to break it down with you.
Taran Armstrong
Yes, yes. Plenty to do here. So we'll just get started. Of course, going into last night D was the HOH with Ashley Taylor and Yash on the block. Ashley was the the house target at this point because of all of the events that took place the night before. The, the episode oversimplified it, but at this point it's not a huge deal and, and honestly, especially because of the events of last night, it's even less of a huge deal. The bottom line was Ashley was the main target going into the night. Only a couple of things I thought were really notable throughout the day prior to the eviction. One of which was that Drew did get in there and get some work in with Yash. Now knowing that Yash was a lot more likely to stay, Yash told Drew that he really appreciated him keeping him in the loop about the vote and his support with the vote and everything. There was also I mentioned this last night on the the recap that there was a lengthy, as per usual Mama's Angels talk while they worked out up in the gym, which by the way, some of my least favorite game talks to listen to. I mean, it's not as bad as like, you know, like people making out every once in a while, but because they're in the gym working out, it's just a lot of, like, Grunting.
Puya
Right. We don't like grunting in our strategy talk. Keep the grunting elsewhere. Yeah. It can be distracting. Sure.
Taran Armstrong
Very, very unfortunate. But throughout all of the. The chaos of the day before, I was really thinking that, like, maybe Rome is gonna start to think about this other side that came together and really start to put the pieces together. And as Rome started to talk about Kamu and Halios.
Puya
Oh. Oh.
Taran Armstrong
Because he goes. Yeah. So I think. I think Kamun Haley might be. Actually, I've been thinking. I think they might be up to something. I think they might be trying to coordinate some kind of like, trying to sabotage me and Lyric by making us jealous, by flirting with us.
Puya
Okay. So even when it looked like it could be game related, it all comes back to flirting.
Taran Armstrong
Yeah.
Puya
Was done. Taran. I thought we moved. The season finale was last week. Where are we?
Taran Armstrong
I thought so too. I thought so too. I was really like, oh, maybe Rome's got his head in the game. But it turned out his head was in fact, fact in Lyric.
Puya
And.
Taran Armstrong
And so, you know, that's about what was going on through the day that led us to the eviction last night, of course, where Ashley was evicted unanimously by the house. And we then got to the HOH competition. Some events from the HOH competition that are important to note it. It took place in. In parts, to some degree. So in parts, they. They teamed up for certain things or I don't know exactly how it works, but basically they paired up and there was an event that took place where initially Melody was kind of on a team with Devins. And then that's seemingly because she thought that you eliminated your teammate. And then once she learned that you were actually were working with your teammate, you, she said, actually, never mind Devins. And she went and worked with Drew instead. And, you know, that's not great, especially because Puya Devin came out the winner of last night's hoh. Yeah.
Puya
This is one of those situations where it's like never, never be the first one to start picking a team or picking anybody for any implications, especially when it backfires on you like this, because I can't imagine this is a feeling Devin's is going to be shaken anytime soon.
Taran Armstrong
Yes. Yes. So Devins is the new HOH immediately. I have some thoughts. Of course, I was, I was tweeting away last night because this is just. It's. It's a very good position to be in for. For the crossovers where, you know, Devins was actually probably one of the better positioned people to be in this spot. He has a lot of reason to go after people, people around Rome at the very least, without getting as much blood on his hands. He just needs to make a couple of excuses as to why he's not nominating Red Corner, and he already has some loaded up. It was apparently down to him and Haley in the final two of the competition, and he is able to make a claim, which isn't particularly true, that he promised safety with Haley because it came down to the two of them. Now, the reality is that what they did talk about was that he was trying to throw the HOH to her and she just kind of blew it in the final round. But that's a good excuse. Now he can go after people like Jason, maybe Melody, people that are threats to the crossover alliance without even really making many waves. But in addition to that, another huge part of Devin's HOH is that with the powers being announced, we were talking about how this is going to be like, talk of the town, right? Who's going to get the powers? Should we target the people who we might think get the powers, meaning the vets, or should we maybe work with them if they might get the powers? Now, all that's moot because Devin's is HOH while all the conversation about powers is happening, meaning instead of any possibility of, hey, the vets might get the powers, we need to take them out first or we need to burn the powers as soon as they get them. Now the talk is, well, Devin's is HOH and he's probably getting a power. And so basically, I need to work with him or I'm dead in the water for the next few weeks. Like, there's just no other. Like the. At some point, the. The powers, the. The. The sort of momentum becomes overwhelming, and you just kind of lay down and hope that it passes over you. And this is, I think, probably going to be the case here.
Puya
Yeah, the rich become richer. It's kind of like when you and someone else are going for the same box in Mario Kart and they get it. You kind of have to pump the brake a little bit and let them go forward because you don't want to get hit with the red shell that they just got. Like, you don't have that anymore. And I think that it would have been a huge discourse and a huge shift in the house had someone that wasn't an icon won this and also wanted the icons out, could advocate for, hey, they're gonna get all the fan votes. So we need to get them out to make room for us. Now, like you said, it is already late because Devin's now won this. You gotta assume someone in that side's gonna also get the first power. Once they got all the ammunition, maybe you wave the white flag. You're like, can I come with you? I'm probably the least harmless one of the bunch. Like, do you have room for one more? Can I be. Can I be that one more? Yeah.
Taran Armstrong
So. So that's most of what happened with the hoh. Devin's very quickly is going to make a. That I think a lot of people in the in fan base are going to appreciate, which is I don't want to nominate anybody that was nominated already. That's very surprising because those are the easiest people to nominate. Oh, yeah. Especially in the Blockbuster era, each season we've seen like the same people get nominated over. And even when you have a new target, you put them up against the same other couple of people that were nominated before. This is a very rare thing that he is intentionally not wanting to do this. And genuinely, I think that it comes more from wanting to do right by the television show than his own particular sense of strategy, which I can also appreciate because it's not like he's not doing something strategic either. He's. He's still planning to do a move that he thinks makes sense for him. But I think also it's just like, let's also not put those same people on the block. And part of the strategy that he's hoping this will. This will accomplish is that by not putting these people on the block who he does see as relatively third party players, he can win some favor with them and pull them to his side, which I do think has some value. And I'm really happy that we're going to see somebody who's willing to be a little bit more bold as an hoh, especially if it works, because it might encourage people to do this more in the future.
Puya
Yeah, I think that, you know, with Blockbuster entering, what, it's third season now. Right. It's the third time we're having this. This format. I do think that we were getting dangerously close to the. Was the easy move, Especially with Ashley leaving. The first three nominees of the week are still that in the house. Meaning you could easily just put that palette back up again and be like, all right, it is what it is. But I do think a combination of a couple things. I think obviously, like we. You've mentioned the whole hay like Haley and him Having a deal cleans his hands of putting Haley up, that's already good. Then saying I'm not putting anyone that's already been nommed up, that's three more people that you can't put up. I think it just also opens the door for him to make a move that is more fun but also probably more beneficial for him in the long run rather than the diplomatic, easy safe move. But it's also Rick Devins. I don't think I ever foresaw him taking the safe move, but I'm just happy that it's seeing reality now that we don't have to deal with that because that would have been just a boring week for us to deal with.
Taran Armstrong
Yeah, I was thinking about this especially like first hoh, second hoh. I feel like the first HOH is the best HOH to win for your own personal game and I was feeling like, I think the second HOH is, is a really great HOH for your for an alliance to have won it because the first HOH allows you as an individual to get all of the, the relationships. You're in a power, power position when everyone's, you know, learning everyone's names and you get included in all the deals, you're able to set up the structure that you want. Then in the second week, the structure is now in place and whoever wins that HOH gets to sort of like determine which structure wins or like which part of the structure wins or, you know, like essentially what are we setting up now moving forward? Now that we know what the sides are, we're going to decimate one of those sides and, and let this other one kind of like roll over. So the fact that Devins and D have won back to back week one, week two HOHs is really incredibly powerful for the setup of what they're trying to accomplish, especially if they play it by the book, which they certainly could, although we'll kind of find out not entirely is their plan, but they've got some plans for sure.
Puya
Yeah, I think especially two people who are not unfamiliar with games like this are not unfamiliar with. We've talked about how pacing with Big Brother is different versus Survivor. This is only day 10. So they can quickly try and build this foundation up and solidify it even further. And I think would it's in the right hands for that to happen. It's not. And I think even more so that it's in Devin's hands versus, say if Haley had won, while I do think Haley would have been, they could have built it and you know, not forced her hand, but, like, molded it alongside her. I think them having the full control really allows them to put together something strong for them to build on. And I think they already had the right pieces last week, so it's kind of a perfect storm for them right now.
Taran Armstrong
So Rome is a quick check in with Devin's early on. Now, we know that Devin's has a good relationship with Rome, but that he's not a big fan of Lyric. We also know he's not the biggest fan of Lala. We also know he's been told about Jason's machinations when it comes to Devin's. We also know he had that run in with Melody in the HOH competition. Not to mention the fact that Melody was the cause of the chaos on Wednesday that stopped Ashley from staying. So there's a lot of potential options here. But he does in almost immediately let Rome in on the fact that he's given Lyric a lot of chances to give him something, and she just kind of hasn't. And, you know, that's concerning for Rome. He's gonna run to Lyric and be a little bit concerned. Lyric is a. Have not as well here and. And so Rome is. Is already, like, mind spinning. I need to come up with something to. To protect Lyric because in his mind, he's good. Because, you know, Devin's basically said, you were. You're good, but I can't promise anything to Lyric. But. But Rome, you know, he. He's all about protecting his people, especially his showman. So he's trying to figure out a way, how can I protect Lyric?
Puya
How can I be the hero here? Yeah, because I think that for most players, I mean, obviously a showmance is one thing also, but, like, once you're safe, you can kind of rest easy on that. But that's not going to be the situation here. What I'm perplexed by is why didn't this happen sooner? Why did Lyric not put moves in sooner, put work in sooner? I think that's more so a bad look on Lyric than anything Rome can do here. And I think it is too little too late once the person who's won power already has it. Because any talk now will look like you're just doing it for the. Because they. They have power over you. So
Taran Armstrong
Drew and Barrett quickly check in. This is phenomenal for them. Devin's also, by the way, said that he saw that Drew threw the HOH Tim, which he was grateful for, but. But they check. Drew and Barrett check in. Things are going great. They're like, well, except for these powers, like, hopefully nobody gets a coup d' etat or anything. But Drew's like, well, well, I mean, anybody's going to get these powers, it's probably going to be our allies, these vets, like, you know what I mean? Like, America already knows who they are. So hopefully that works out in our favor here.
Puya
There's not much to debate on that. Truly. Life's good. Life's good in the big brother house.
Taran Armstrong
Yes. Kevin's initially is talking about going to bed relatively early. I can tell you that does not happen. He ends up kind of starting some one on ones that end up sort of lasting much of the night. He gets to pretty much everyone. And I mean, we can kind of just start there. I mean, there are many people he talks to. We won't go through every single person. But. But Rome does go up and talk to Devins in a relatively consequential conversation. Rome opens with this plan because he's come up with this idea. He tells Devin's about the four seasons alliance. The four seasons alliance. We just talked about this yesterday because it was just formed on. On Wednesday that it was the alliance that Melody and Lyric were trying to put together. Trying to put together. Oh, man, my voice is starting to run out here. Melody and Lyric, we're trying to put together with Drew and Rome this final four thing. Now, Drew did tell Barrett and, like, the rest of the crew about this alliance that was coming together, but in the chaos of everything else, didn't end up telling them the name once the name was made. So in Devin's mind, this is kind of like a new thing he's kind of hearing about to some degree. And. And so Rome says, we've got this alliance. It's called the four Seasons. And I was thinking, devin, I want to pull you into it.
Puya
You know, the fifth season. Taran, as everyone knows, there is room for one more.
Taran Armstrong
Yeah, you know, we got summer, winter, fall, spring. Winter is coming. Number two. Like, we got. We got some. We. There's some stuff we can do here. It's just wild that he told him the name and the name was like, it. It's like the most we talk about, like, how including numbers in your name can really be a mistake because of these kinds of circumstances. But it's like this isn't even just like level five where you can just turn it into level six if you want. It's. There's only four seasons.
Puya
Like, the only other way you can change the interpretation is if we're Talking about, like the hotel chain, but you know, that couldn't be the name because of the hotel chain, so that's not even going to be a thing. And like, aside from all that, let's say this had no name. Taryn, asking, telling someone, hey, we've been a four. Would you like to be our fifth? Like, just don't even ask me at that point. Like, I would. I don't even want the invite. It feels so pity.
Taran Armstrong
It's like, literally just go to Devin's and be like, listen, obviously we've been talking. I know you haven't had much with Lyric, but I really think that we can work together and we'd be strong together. And I want to pull you in with Lyric and I want to build something real. And so, like, what do you think about that? What do you think about working and building an alliance? I know. I feel really good about Drew. I think you like Drew a lot. We could pull Drew in. I know you just had this thing with Melody and so maybe we could. We could squash that whole thing. We could get you in good with Melody and Lyric by building an alliance with them. Now, obviously that wouldn't have worked because Devin's did already know that this was an existing thing because Drew already added it out. But at least that would have been, I think, a better approach than. So I've got this Four Seasons alliance. I was thinking you could join it. Hoh.
Puya
Yeah. I think, you know, this has been a through line that you've discussed on multiple live feed updates now, Taran, and it has been this last week of Rome being in a good position because Rome was relatively transparent. I think because you're being truthful, because people can see you coming, you're not as threatening. And in fact, because everyone else is trying to hide everything, you look like you have more power because no one else is showing power. I think then this is when there's diminishing returns on that. Because I do think also if you're playing cards with someone and they keep showing you all their cards, well, guess what, at some point I'm gonna pick the cards I need and beat your hand, no matter what you do, because I know how to work against your cards. I just think that it's so absent minded. And I do think Rome has qualities that could make him a good player. And, you know, we'll save this for the inevitable discourse about how he fumbled where his positioning was at the end of last week, where he saw himself to be the president. It's very funny. Anyway, don't ask me to be your fifth ever. Anybody, ever. Just don't do it.
Taran Armstrong
Yes. Now importantly, Devins is going to basically say, like, hey, I want to keep our relationship good, but obviously I have to do what I have to do. I made this deal with Haley. I have to. I do have to target some people. Like, who do you want? Who. Who. In order for us to stay good, who do I need to avoid nominating, essentially?
Puya
And.
Taran Armstrong
And Rome says, just don't nominate Lyric or Jason, kind of leaving Lala out in the cold. And Devin's like, okay, I can do that. And. And that's basically the conversation they have now. Rome is going to be relatively open about this later on. He feels like he did a really great job with Devins and that if Devin's, you know, holds up to what he said, then they should be okay. Because Devins is essentially telling Rome that Melody is his target and that he needs to nominate two people next to Melody. And so I think in Rome's mind, like, if Lala is a pawn next to Melody, that's not the biggest deal. Whereas, you know, he really wants to make sure Jason and Lyric stay off of that block. And so he feels like as long as Melody remains the target, we're kind of fine. And he's not entirely wrong when talking about what would happen if the Roman Empire side of the house, which is quite, you know, an apt name for it now, especially if they had won. Hoh. I was anticipating that the Red Cross side, which we do have a new name for, which I don't like nearly as much, is is going to throw Melody under the bus because Melody was the most expendable person on that side of the house. And that's already proving true where Rome is kind of like, I'm happy to just let you take Melody, just don't take my girl Lyric or my guy Jason, and we're fine. And so Devin's takes this in and at this point in time is. Is okay with it. Like, if that keeps me good with Rome and lets me target Melody, I think this might actually be the plan for now,
Puya
if you are Rome, because I feel like this is where I want to be critical as well, because I agree that this works for his mind. But if you are Rome, you just said, hey, this four, you be the fifth. But also you could dump the other two and put them up. I don't mind. Just save these other. This say this other person who isn't even part of this Four Seasons thing. It's so funny to me yeah, yeah.
Taran Armstrong
The Four Seasons thing really just immediately fell flat. So Devin's talks to Kamu as well. He lets Kamu know that in his mind, Melody is the target because of what happened in the HOH competition. He's definitely looking at Lyric as another nominee. You know, sure, Rome wanted to keep Lyric off the block, but, like, you know, what are you going to do? He doesn't want to nominate anybody that's been nominated for. He's not going to nominate anybody in red corner. And, you know, that doesn't leave a whole lot of options remaining. So, you know, it is what it is. You know, they just need to figure out, like, who is the third nominee here. Maybe it could be Lala. He. No, he doesn't want to nominate three women, but if that's what has to be done, it'll. It'll have to be done. And so, you know, it's. This is sort of like the. The early stages of Devin's plan. Nothing too concrete yet, other than Melody the target.
Puya
Yeah, I think as of this point, or really, this is where I still felt like, okay, bit of a breezy night. Not much going on. Not much fire here. Just a little smoke.
Taran Armstrong
Yes. And he confirms with D. Devin's confirms with D as well, that he had this conversation with Rome. He tells her about it. He says he's thinking of going along with what Rome wants for the most part, but. And just targeting Melody. He also then he then continues the night, like, it's all kind of, like, going according to this plan. He talks to Yash. He kind of works on Yash, like, hey, I don't want to put you up on the block. Yash says, I'm happy to work with you, especially if you keep me off the block. But while this is all happening, Angela has been thinking. Angela has been stirring. She talks to Dee and Barrett, and Angela is really kind of like. She's like, man, I really wish Haley had won that hoh because, you know, I don't love this for Rick, but, you know, because Haley would have done this. Rome has to go. Rome has to go. And. And D and Baird are like, I mean, sure, yeah, but I don't know if, like, Evans wants to do that. And she said, well, if it's not Rome, it should be Jason. You should. I. I'm telling you, I just caught Jason earlier. I saw him do it. He, like, had a conversation with me. And then after I walked down the hallway, I looked back and I saw in the mirror, he was making a face at the camera. I Saw it. I saw it. So if Jason can go too. And so, so this is how, this is how Angela's feeling. She wants it to be either Rome or Jason. I do think Jason is a great shot. I think Melody is an okay shot just because she has, like, potential as a. Like, she is like Taylor and Lyric and Mallory were all told that same information about sides on Wednesday, but it was Melody who actually put her foot down and stopped that vote from happening and is the reason Ashley's gone. So there's a lot of reason to be like, Melody is an obstacle, but at the same time, as I just described, she is the least well positioned person on that side. She is the most expendable person to them and therefore the not super valuable to take out if you're kind of declaring war. And so in Angela's mind, it does make a lot more sense to take out Rome or Jason, which does make a ton of sense if you're trying to weaken that side significantly. So, you know, the only problem is that like, again, Devins is a little bit, you know, wary of ruining his relationships with that other side, including with Rome himself. So in my mind, Jason is kind of the perfect sort of middle ground here where if you do avoid nominating Rome and then you get Jason out, it's like the best case scenario. The problem is that we're living in the blockbuster era and sniping out a specific person is really difficult to do with multiple chances for people to come off of the block and. And then the blockbuster at the end where it's like if you have one target out of three, that's just not a great place to be, especially if that person's already proven they can win competitions. So an interesting thought from Angela. We'll see how it lands with Devin if she talks to him.
Puya
I love when Angela thinks, because when Angela thinks, you know, you're going to have fun out of it on the other side, you know, behind the screen. I am intrigued by this. I do love this idea of, of, you know, looking to weaken that side. But I also love what you said about Melody. I think Melody Loki underrated potentially, I think very fun to watch and I hope she gets enough room to move and grow in the game because I do see some fun potential there from her. But I do think that especially when the two people she's naming are two people who got safety the first week, I think it's worth noting that, like, yeah, well, if all it needs is for them to win one and then now I'm in A bad place. So I don't hate this, but Devin's. He's gonna play this smart, and also he's made this deal, right? Like, surely he's gonna leave these people off the block.
Taran Armstrong
Yes. Well, Angela goes and talks to Devins, and. And I will tell you, this conversation does not start well, in my opinion, because Angela says, first of all, defense, first of all, just, I need to get this out of the way. Do not give any information to Drew. Do not give him any information about this week. Just be vague with him. Don't tell him who you're nominating. Don't give him anything. I don't trust him at all. And I'm like, okay, number one, we're still on this. Number two, how exactly do you think that's going to go down, Angela, That Drew, who is in the core of the alliance, is going to be told vagaries and just be, okay, what are we doing here, Angela? But then she continues, here's what I think we should do. I think that you should target Rome. And, you know, he is the leader of that side, and we need to get Romeo. He is the most dangerous person. If we take Rome out, like, the rest of them fall and, like, you know, okay, he might win a veto or he might win the blockbuster. Who cares? Just go for it. This is what we're here for. This is big brother. We'll take out Jason. We'll do something else. And Angela's enthusiasm here is a little infectious. And. And Devin is. Is like, I'm not gonna lie, Angela. I'm. I'm kind of liking it, you know, Like, I. I was not really thinking about this, but I don't really mind the smoke. Like, I could. I mean, I don't know, maybe I could do that. I. She's appealing to Devin's sense of showmanship. And. And it's really working. It's really working on that. He really loves this idea of, like, maybe I could just kind of go wild with it, right, and just. Just make a big move. Go after Jason. Go after Rome. She says, I'd put Jason, melody, and lyric up and then backdoor him. And he's like, well, I mean, I was thinking of Melody. And she goes, melody is weak. Melody is weak. That's not worth it. Rome is the snake. He's like, I'm not gonna disagree. And just like this, things got a little more interesting.
Puya
So you're telling me I can make it entertaining? Is that what you're telling me? Because I'm in. That's all it took for Devin's. That's all it took. Him realizing that this could be popcorn. And. And let me say this, Taryn. I'm gonna make a bold prediction. If you don't think that man thought of being in the Doctor later and saying that he toppled the Roman Empire, you have another thing coming. He for sure thought of that line and he for sure was gonna dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun that and say this just in. The Roman Empire is toppled. He's ready. He's ready. And I. You cannot convince me otherwise. That that didn't get cooked in his head and now he's all in on this plan. I, for one, I'm here for it.
Taran Armstrong
Yes.
Puya
So.
Taran Armstrong
So Devin's now sort of freshly on this new track. He's gonna go to Barrett and. And right away says like, okay, first of all, have you heard of the Four Seasons alliance? Rome was telling me about this Four Seasons lines, and Barrett's like, never heard of it in my life. He's like, apparently Drew's in this alliance that Rome told me about. I'm. I'm pretty skeptical of Drew right now. And it's just like, we're still doing this. They both did know about this alliance. Drew did tell them about it. He just didn't tell them the stupid name because it didn't even have a name yet when he told them. But. But of course, you know, it is what it is here. And Barrett, I. I don't think Barrett actually distrusts Drew here, but he does say, like, yeah, he's a little all over the place, you know? Like, you know, I mean, there's no world, I think, where Barrett, even if he has any reason to be suspicious of Drew, would be actually willing to. To discard Drew in any meaningful way. Like, he's in a. A five person alliance with three vets and he's got one new player with him. One new player who's like, younger and less generally liked than him in the house. It's like, yeah, I think he'd probably be fine if his, like, if a great backup plan is going to final two with Drew instead of one of the three vets that would all probably beat him in the final two. Like, I don't think there's any world where Barrett would or should drop Drew. And Devin's likes Drew a lot and. And, you know, has talked about Drew in a really fond way in the past. I think that this, like, Angela stuff just keeps popping up and. And then they keep hearing about things and it's usually being like, explained in the least generous way for Drew. And so, like, Devin's just doesn't want to be played by Drew, if that's what's going on. And Drew, for what it's worth, as I've talked about, isn't the best person at being not sketchy. He has a general vibe. He dresses like he's Dan Geisling, which is, like, you know, not the best.
Puya
So what is Dan Geisling attire? Can we clarify this? What do you call dressing like Dan Geesling?
Taran Armstrong
He's got the. He wears the headbands. He's got, like, the black tank on. I've seen people are like, look at. He looks like a little, like, baby Dan. They're like, he's the combination of Dan and Ian. It's like. Like, he's not helping his case here.
Puya
Yeah. Maybe dress dumb down a little bit with the dressing. Maybe do that. Yeah. I mean, that's the thing with. With Drew is that we all, like, he is. He mingles. He's involved in other stuff. At the end of the day, I think someone like Barrett knows that everyone's doing stuff like this. I think if you're secure in your relationship with that person, it won't bother you as much anyway. And it's Drew, you know, like, it's like. It's one of those things where it's like, yeah, he's doing all this, but it's just Drew, and I don't think for him, there should be any concern here.
Taran Armstrong
Yeah, it's. And it's. It's wild to me. I was thinking about this, like. Like, I was like, oh, I mean, you know, yeah, baby Dan is true. But then I was thinking about it, and Dan was 24 on Big Brother 10, and Drew is 20.
Puya
Let's not do this.
Taran Armstrong
And it's actually. They're actually pretty close in age right now to what. It's just. It's just weird. It's just weird. So Barrett and Drew and Devin's talk about this. Devin said says, honestly, Barrett, I'm kind of thinking, like, I kind of want to just blow it all up. I kind of want to just blow it all up. And. And. And Barrett's like, oh, really? He's like, yeah, I was. I'm kind of feeling like, lyric Melody, Jason, Backdoor Rome, and don't tell Drew right away. And. And honestly, kind of don't tell Angela right now yet, because she's. She's pretty paranoid. Given that Angela was one that pitched this plan. This feels like smokescreen to me. I Think that Devin does believe that Angela's paranoid to some degree, but also, I think, just continuing to do little subtle things to make sure that Barrett feels like he's in here. But of course, like, Angela was the one that pitched this to not only Devin, but she just pitched it to Barrett as well. So, like, I don't know. And. And, like, all of this stuff about, like, well, who should we tell? Should we be careful about who? It's all gonna go out the window anyway, but, you know, definitely some. Some stuff going on here. Devin's also talks to Drew, and again, I think, like, every time they start to get suspicious of Drew, they have a conversation with him, and he's so incredibly just, like, forthright about all of his information that, like, they go, oh, right. I think Drew's with us. And so, you know, Devin's asks Drew about his conversation with Rome, and Rome had told Drew basically everything in the conversation that he had with Devin. And so Drew then tells that Devin. Drew asks Drew. Sorry. Devin asks Drew what his ideal outcome is, and Drew kind of says, like, I mean, I do feel good with Rome, but, I mean, him leaving would be pretty good, I think. And I'm hearing that he's saying some stuff. Anyway, Angela told Drew that Rome said that True's in a lot of alliances, which I'm pretty sure did not come from Rome and came from Angela herself. But either way, Drew is happy to have Rome gone. And. And again, I think just continuing to kind of, like, ace this interaction in terms of, like, no, you can trust me. And so Dee joins them. It gets pitched to Dee as well, and this idea of backdooring Rome really start to build momentum as they talk about, like, should we. Should we just kind of, like, bring everyone up and lock this in?
Puya
Yes. Yes. The answer is, please do so, because it's fun for us. I love the pivot. I. Can we quickly touch on the idea? Because I've seen a lot of people panic a little bit now with this bigger conversation, this bigger format. You know what? I've changed my mind. Sorry. We'll talk about it once. Once we get to that point. I have a. I have a little cut scene I want to talk about with you.
Taran Armstrong
Well, okay. I mean, I think. I think I know sort of what you're getting at in the sense that, like, Wendy and Drew and. And Devins are talking. Drew is saying, let's not bring people up right now. Like, let's not, like, just bring everyone on. Like, that's not what we should do. I think that we should piecemeal this a little bit more. And it's ironic that Drew, of all people, is the one who is, like, exercising the most amount of caution here, given that he's the one who tends to have the foot on the pedal for his own game. But. But D and Devins are kind of like, let's just do this. And, you know, there's entertainment value to doing it. There's some strategic value to doing it. But as we'll talk about through the night, they are going to do it, and it is going to have some pretty big ramifications. So they decide, let's do it. Let's bring the whole crew up. The red Cross is coming together. We're not long. We're not going to be able to call them that for much longer because. Because Drew had an alliance name he came into the game with. But.
Puya
Yeah. Yeah. You know, this is a. Yeah, he came into the game with this, which is interesting to me.
Taran Armstrong
Yeah. So everyone. They start pulling everyone up. The crossovers, the red corner. The only person they can't get is Barrett, who is sleeping in the have not room. D tries to grab him, but he's not waking up. And instead, the person that wakes up is Rome, who's like, what's going on? Very messy. Like, again, you know, I think probably the. The closest parallel here is when the leftovers came together. Of course, it's a similar vibe where, like, it's a big group coming together, doing this big thing. And, you know, they were a lot more subtle on the scale of, like, leftovers to undeniable. Like, they do fall somewhere in the middle, unfortunately.
Puya
Yeah.
Taran Armstrong
So Barrett does not end up going upstairs, at least initially. And. But they do get everyone else up into the hoh room. It's all of, again, the red corner plus crossovers, minus Barrett. And they start excitedly pitching this idea of, let's just go for it. Devin says, listen, Rome told. I had a conversation with Rome, and he told me that there were only two people he wanted to protect. Jason and Lyric. So the two people I want to nominate next to Melody are Jason and Lyric. And they go, whoa, yes. Oh, my God. Oh, this is so good. I love this. And Angela's like, yeah, yeah. And then I was thinking he should say, like, this may be big brother, but this has been feeling like two tribes since the beginning. I'm like, oh, my God. Oh, my God, that's so good. And. And Devin's like, yeah, and I'm gonna tell. I'm gonna tell them all that Rome Told me, put up Lala, put up Melody, put up whoever else you want. Just don't put up Jason and Lyric. And they're like, oh, my God. Oh, my God. And Angela's like, this is so good. I'm so. This is. I. This is what I love about Big Brother. This is. I'm so excited to be on the good side of it this time.
Puya
I love when people get hyped up on their own plans, and I'm here for it. I'm so here for. Devin's calling out the. He said you're fine to go up. He said, you're fun to go. I want to see that moment happen, and I really hope we don't get robbed of that moment ahead of time. Unless it's on feeds, then I'll still take it. Maybe just me. I don't think the. The Survivor line is as cold as they made it out to be. I don't think that's like, yeah, I don't think that's like, oh, that was sick.
Taran Armstrong
It. Not only is it, like, I think not the banger that they would hope for, it's also, like, just further exposing exactly what's going on for no particular reason. And Devin's even says, like, hey, I'm Will. Like, I don't need you guys to expose yourselves. I don't need you to defend me. I'm willing to take all the heat for this. I'm willing to take all the smoke for this. And I love this for him in terms of his, like, positioning in the alliance. People really love allies that are willing to do this for you. And I actually don't think it's even as bad for him in the game as you might assume, especially because secretly he's actually more well positioned than the rest of the red corner if he ends up on the block next to them. But. And so, like, you know, and again, this is, like, this is actually a very. Speaking of Dan, it's a very Dan move to be like, listen, I'm willing to take the heat for this because in the event that somebody from the other side does win, he can always rat the red corner out. He can always, like, drop the other bomb and. And kind of just be like, like, oh, well, they were actually in on it the whole time. And he knows he has the numbers. If he's on the block next, plenty, Plenty of ways he can get out of this. So I like this as a move, but kind of irrelevant when they're all upstairs. Clearly, Rome was woken up by the summoning of Them. This is the. This is exactly what Angela thought was happening in the gym that she caught on to that Rome was summoning people up to the gym. People were summoning, being summoned up into the hoh room. And Rome knows this and he. They're all up there and. And so he's. He's chatting with, like, Jason and Lyric in the kitchen. He's like, yeah, they're. They're up there right now. I mean, not looking great for us, I think.
Puya
Yes. But the silence, especially when they're in a now 16 person house, that house is still very much loud. So when it's getting quiet like that and it doesn't take much to go look at a couple of beds and see who's not around, it will start feeling like, oh, the walls are closing in on us here. So you don't even need to say the Survivor line. It's getting pretty obvious already.
Taran Armstrong
Yes. So Angela, meanwhile, up in the hoh room, she's like, okay, guys, I need to tell you guys something. So this is what I've learned about Jason. And she tells them the story about how Jason, you know, tricked her. And the problem is, like, the way that she's like, we all saw this in the episode, right? And it was very compelling, the way that was portrayed in the episode. So much so that, like, there are people up in arms on both sides. And it was like this whole thing, the way Angela tells it, it's. It kind of falls flat a little bit. She's like, yeah, so, like, I had this great conversation with Jason. Now, to be fair, some of this was cut from the feeds. So there's maybe like, you know, maybe she told it a little more compellingly than it seemed, but, like, it didn't feel like anybody else was like, it just wasn't the right vibe for this story. I think she's like, so Jace. And then. And then like I. It was this emotional moment for us. And then he gave the cameras a look. He, like, gave. Gave a look to the camera. It's like, oh, he's tricking me. And so now, like, you know, and now I'm mad at him. Like, it just didn't quite. Didn't quite land. We're doing all of this. We're saying these lines like, are we, are we back during Rome? Is that what's happening? And this is. Again, Drew is like, we should not tell them that this is the plan. Yes. Yeah, we're back during Rome. They're like, oh, let's go. Finally they're able to pull Barrett up into the room, and Jason and Lyric and Rome are still downstairs in the kitchen. Like, and Rome's just like, honestly, at this point, I think I want to just go up and cause a scene and Lyrics. No, no, don't cause a scene. No, no. He's like, well, I'll just, you know, I can just go up and, like, just act like, you know, I'm tired. Like, I want to, like, have a chat or something. Like, okay, so Rome goes up the stairs. He goes to the door. He rings the doorbell. Ding dong. What do we do? Let's just not answer. Kind of slowly slide. He keeps standing there. Ding dong. He just kind of waits. And then he. He waits at the door. They just kind of keep shush. And then he starts to walk backwards and leans up against the railing posted up by the door, waiting, like, oh, my God. So they all quietly move into the bathroom where they can talk a little more freely. Okay, so. So what are we? What are we. What's the plan? Drew says, all right, so I was thinking, like, we need to name this. And I've been thinking. I had a name for an alliance that I wanted to use. It's called the tool shed because, like, you're. We're all tools. Like, we're. We're with tools with different purposes. Like, we're working toward it and. And then, you know, like, we're going to take out all the. On the other side. And I think it was. Chuck was like, I get called a tool all the time. I love this.
Puya
Just relatable content to me. Yeah, I'm very okay with this. I think we need to give everyone a tool name. Which tool is everybody? Taran, if you were in the alliance, which one would you be?
Taran Armstrong
What tool would I be? Wow, that's a. That's a good question. I would have to think about this. I don't. I don't. I don't know what. Puya, you've clearly thought about this. You. You tell me while I think about it.
Puya
No, because I'm going to make an inappropriate joke, so I don't think I should do it. That's all I've thought ever since two should have happened was would I want to be the tackle box or the nuts? I don't know. I haven't decided. Like, truly, what are we doing here? But I want everyone' assignment here is at me and tell me which tool would you be in the tool shed alliance, please?
Taran Armstrong
Oh, Chat's saying I am the level.
Puya
The level.
Taran Armstrong
Which feels like it could be an Insult because it feels quite boring, but also kind of. Kind of like, yeah, that. That's fair.
Puya
It's deep. It's deep because it's like, as a tool itself, when you look at a level, you're like, what is this? But it is there to make sure balance. Right. To keep everything. Yeah. So that's good. But it's one of those where you got to explain it more for the people that. I like that. That's a good one.
Taran Armstrong
When you're thinking about, like, hammers and jack saws and, like, the fun stuff to use, Like, I hate. I hate using levels. It's my least favorite part of anything I do. It's. I hate that stuff. But. But I. Yeah, I get it. It's. That's fair. It's fair.
Puya
I'm gonna ask Liana and then get back to y' all at what she assigns me. I feel like that's better. Let someone else on the outside look at it. Pick it for me. So.
Taran Armstrong
So here they are, the. The Tool Shed. Instead of it being the Red Cross, it's the Tool Shed Alliance. And I. I can't help but mourn my own. This is what. This is. I'm realizing this is what it is to be a shipper. I. I was shipping two alliances together with my own ship name, and then. And then they came. They decided on something different that I didn't like, and now I'm sad about this version of it in my head that doesn't exist anymore.
Puya
You had a name. You portmanteaued it. And they were like, nope, it's not. This one is something else instead entirely. I mean, obviously, if they were able to, and if they were like Rome just telling you the named alliance, then someone could have been like, if we merge these two, it could work, but then that would be a whole can of worms. But can't we just, like, what?
Taran Armstrong
Can't we just americoriate it? You know, because they tried to make it Comerica or whatever, and we were like, no, this is your name. Can't we just tell this a lot? No, no, sorry. Tool shed isn't. Doesn't work for us. We like Red Cross.
Puya
I'm afraid when there's eight people involved there and it's two different, there's no turning back. Taryn, we are the Tool shed now. And no one is happier than the Big Brother announcer guy. Because if you're telling me one of these people don't blindside one of their own, they're not going to call them the not the sharpest tool in the shed. Something's gone terribly wrong. They're ready.
Taran Armstrong
Yeah. Yeah. All right. So the alliance has come together. Rome stands outside of that room for a while. And Devin's does bring something up though, here, which is after they come up with the name, he's like, so I was thinking like, now that we're just kind of like going for it, should I. Should I even bother nominating Melody at all? Should I just put up Lala Jason in Rome or Lala Jason and. And
Puya
Lyric?
Taran Armstrong
Lyric. Thank you. It's a backdoor Rome. And there's. There's a little bit of debate. The red Cross, the red corner is kind of like, like, oh, no, I think it should just be Melody and. And Angela is kind of like, oh, actually that could make some sense. Just put up Lala. But there's a little bit of back and forth. They still seem to mostly be landing on Melody here as the nom, but. But there's some amount of, I think, wiggle room for this to land on Lala instead. Obviously, from our perspective, it does make a lot of sense to just go ahead and put up Lala, who's in a final three with Rome and Jason and super, you know, locked in with that whole group. You might as well just throw the whole target up there. Melody opens the door for, you know, there to be a little bit more of like a war between the sides because they're going to be happy to throw Melody under the bus and want to vote her out instead of having to turn on one of their own, which helps them in some ways. However, I actually think there is some value to nominating Melody as well, which is that by nominating Melody, you're exposing the fact that all of the rest of those people in that group are all going to be campaigning against Melody to peak to keep each other safe. And Devin's even has the excuse to nominate her in the first place based on what happened in the HOH competition. So not even like that much of a slight. This could give Drew the opportunity as well to help pull Melody to their side as the other side tries to get her out and crumbles. Like there's some value there as well. Though of course the value could still exist if you just say, hey, I'm not going to nominate you. But that does allow her to. To sort of make that decision in a. A slightly more. A slightly better position of power. So I, I honestly don't think it's like super important as long as I think at this point, if they're going to declare war like they are. They do need to make sure they cannot afford for Melody to be the one that takes this hit. If Rome and Jason and Lala and Lyric are all staying in the house and Melody is the one that leaves, I think that's a big missed shot for the tool shed at this point. Yeah.
Puya
And as things stand with Rome not being presented in the first three, let's pretend Melody's on there. There is a world Rome could still get picked to play the veto whether it's a draw or house guest choice. If he wins and takes one of Lyric or Jason out and then another person, let's say Lala goes up, there's still a world where they end up screwing the pooch a little bit, but there's still exactly enough people where one of them could go home, one of that four could go home. I just think the question has to be now, do they think Melody is pickupable and do they think Melody would retaliate if she was to stick around? If they do this plan and, and take one of the others out and I do think she, they could sway her. I think she could be moved, she could switch up like you said. I think my favorite thing is that putting her in a position to watch actively Rome break his back to protect these two or whichever one of them is off the block, protect these two over her should be the eye opener she needs.
Taran Armstrong
It should be right and, and yeah. And the downside is exactly the scenario you outlined which is Rome wins the veto, takes down Lyric, Jason wins the blockbuster and now you've taken out Lala or Melody and maybe taking out Lala still is something but in terms of like and honestly actually that's not the worst thing in the world in terms of what they're doing because you could maybe then without Lala, Taylor is not nearly as attached to the Rome group as she was before. But it does mean that you had to all vote out Lala over Melody, which Taylor would not be chill with and would probably just push her to the Rome side anyway. Whereas in the event that you nominate, if you, that you don't nominate Melody and it's just la la Jason, Lyric with Rome is the back door, you for sure get out one of Rome, Lyric or Jason with the, the possibility now that like, if you've managed it correctly, you know, Taylor might be not as upset with you because you might not be voting against her when it comes to the eviction vote, stuff like that. So there's a lot of like you know intricacies here, but this is certainly not the plan that, that I thought they would go with because I do think there is a more subtle and probably more effective plan that's a little safer. But. But they want to just kind of go big. I don't think targeting Rome is, is the mistake. I think that if they go by making it so obvious that they were all up in the HOH from celebrating an alliance where they're going to take out Rome and call out the fact that there are two sides in the speech to nominate these people, I think that's a little bit further than they need to go. I'm not complaining because I think it will make good television. But. But I do think that they are declining to take a path that could be much more effective. They are leaving themselves theoretically open to the other side winning in HOH next week. That said, they're very aware of the fact that that probably wouldn't matter anyway if they're going to get start getting these powers, which I think is part of what is encouraging them to feel like they're bulletproof at this point. Notably, again, one thing that Devins is interested in doing here because of the powers, he I think correctly anticipates that if Rome stays or if Rome stays in the game this week that he will be seen as an underdog that's in a showmance and could likely win the second power. And therefore by taking Rome out this week, they're preventing him from getting a power and probably helping keep it amongst themselves. So the powers are influencing things a little bit there as well.
Puya
Yeah. I mean, and they. As they should. I think the underdog edit has always historically been so powerful. We've seen Instagram instance of it, the edit workout in the favor of players on bbcan that we didn't expect to win a safety on BB Us same thing. I think it's definitely possible. It'll be a very, very fun thing for me personally to watch the icon vs underdog vote go down next week because I do think still the icons will overshadow the underdog. But it just depends on how strongly the edit will make things look moving forward. And I think already, Taran, there's a lot of content for the showmance edit and the underdog edit to go hand in hand because what we have not talked about and I don't think we need to get into it, besides me just bringing it up now was the makeout session that happened on the counter in the pantry earlier in the night. That Skippy who, by the way, Skippy. I don't know you. You don't know me. Kind of horny from you out of horny behavior to put all four cameras on the makeout suddenly. I think that they have a lot of material, and I think that they could definitely put it that way. It just comes down to, is the star power going to be stronger than the edit?
Taran Armstrong
Yeah, I mean, listen, I have always been under the assumption that the camera person is, you know, they don't have a lot of drinks in that room, is what I'll say.
Puya
Thirsty. I see what picked up.
Taran Armstrong
That's not the end of the night, though. They do break up eventually. The plan is in place. And. But. But, you know, Jason and Rome and Lyric are still incredibly concerned about what's been happening. And Jason has a conversation with Rome where he's basically like, I think we might be screwed, so I might as well just come out and do this now. I was gonna maybe tell everyone, but I'm just gonna tell you for now. Rome, I've got a big secret that I haven't told anybody. And I was on Drag Race. I. I am an icon, actually,
Puya
undercover.
Taran Armstrong
He tells Rome his secret. He tells him he was on Drag Race and that. And so the secret is now out. Rome knows, and they talk about how screwed they are. But this is key, and it's very funny. Of all people, they actually think that Drew is with them, that Drew, even though he was included up in that room, that Drew is gonna side with them, and that's gonna be their. Their secret weapon here.
Puya
I'm sorry, Rome. Did you not let Drew be on the list of people who could get nominated? And then he's now talking to the HOH in a room with seven other people, door locked. How do you still think delusionally that that not going to come up, that he wouldn't know that you are very okay to green light this. Also, not for nothing, Taran. Why wouldn't Rome reciprocate this secret by telling Jason that his name is Jack? Why did that not happen?
Taran Armstrong
Because. Because he needs to accidentally say Jacksaw instead of Jigsaw. I've been thinking about that since I did it.
Puya
O God. Wild. Why did they think they have Drew still? Again, especially for me, leaving him off of your shortlist of these people. I don't want him to go up and then thinking, that's not going to get back to him after everything you've witnessed tonight. Wild for me. Wild.
Taran Armstrong
Yeah. So. So that's basically where things stand at the Moment the plan is in place, and I can tell you that during this update, things are already moving along.
Puya
It's gonna be a day.
Taran Armstrong
Knows it was happening. It's like Rome has already gone to Devin's to be like, yo, what's up?
Puya
Yeah, well, it didn't help that after he was locked out of the room, when they all started coming down in a single file line, Rome was like, not cool, man. Not cool. I just wanted to come up there and, like, no one gave him anything to work with. So he's already at a 10. I think Jason's at a 10. Very nervous about what's happening. So we're gonna have a huge day today for the ramifications of everything potentially culminating in one half of the house declaring themselves as half of the house and saying, there's two sides. Which side are you on?
Taran Armstrong
Yeah, this is gonna be big. This is a bunch of stuff is gonna go down. And, you know, again, this is where it's like with Melody. Melody is the person that ran from Mallory the moment she was nominated. I do think there's a world where you can pull her from what she might deem a sinking ship, which is what Ashley was trying to get at with Mel, with Melody. But. But so, so, so we'll see. We'll see what. What comes of all of it, but anything else, Puya, that we should bring? I mean, there were a lot of other conversations going on, but, like, this is really the. The big stuff that was happening over the course of the night, and a lot of this stuff is going to come to a head. Worth noting. The Barrett and D relationship is. Is sort of like cooking. Like, the fact that D came looking for him in the night has. Has sort of reignited those conversations even more. And so very much so. Like, Jason in particular is really, like, honing in on, like, Barrett and D as a bit of a thing, but anything else, Puya?
Puya
Two things. One information related, one more of a discussion question. If you're. If you're down. Devin's music was the who for those interested in what music the HOH gets. And then I've been seeing a lot of nervousness from. From the. The fandom today and last night about a steamroll. Now it's only week day 10, week two. We know that a lot can go wrong and has gone wrong in seasons past. What would you say to the people who are a little bit concerned about this season turning into a steamroll?
Taran Armstrong
I would say that last night, prior to the Rome targeting talk, I was thinking if this is played perfectly. This is going to be really, really difficult to overTurn, especially with six powers coming in in the following weeks. However, I think that the sort of messier, good TV version of this, which is declaring war, backdooring Rome, has more holes in it, and it also allows the other side to more obviously become underdogs on the TV version of the show, which allows powers to potentially go their way. Maybe. So, you know, I would not, you know, I think a power is going to Yvette probably Angela today. It would probably be happening very soon. And then next week with the excitement of this move, we will probably, maybe still get another power going to this big alliance. But by the third power, we might start to see a shift if they do retain their power and. And not to mention the fact that, like, if they don't, that means that somebody else won HOH and now they know exactly who they could potentially target. It's. Things are a little more obvious. Drew and Barrett might have to be exposed a little bit more. They don't have the more subtle power that they did before if they make themselves more obvious, but they do still have a lot of seemingly the good competitors, at least in. In terms of what we have heard about the HOH competition, which many of them were doing very well in it, and they do hold a lot of the, like, really athletic people on their side as well. So, like, you know, I guess. I guess what I'm saying is there is a worst case scenario where they do dominate, but in like, committee style where they just win every competition, which would be the worst. But, you know, the domination through the subtle machinations of like, the cookout or the brigade or something like that seems a lot less likely with this new tactic that they've taken.
Puya
Yeah, and I think that's the. That's it for me. That's potentially why I'm not fully concerned. I think if it is, like, one side getting the, like getting to the end results, being like they've, you know, made it through and they've been safe, if there's a lot of drama along the way, a lot of friction, that's fine with me. I can. I can enjoy that.
Taran Armstrong
It's.
Puya
If we come back every Friday morning and everything's just locked in and the week just looks crystal clear, that's when I'm kind of like, all right, well, wrap it up already. I think there's a lot of things going against that from where I'm standing currently. I think there's still a lot of potential infighting that could happen within this tool shed. I think that the whole Drew question mark, I could see Angela eventually snapping with Drew. I could see that happening. I could also see, let's not forget, yes, they are the tool shed now. But it was like four days ago when a lot of people were like, I'm not messing with Haley like that. That could still change. I think even one underdog hoh where the tool shed has to decouple for a little bit and have the red corner side and the crossover side try and advocate for the other side to be the nominees. That's also a possibility. I think there's a lot of things that could go there. I think also with the powers Taryn, for all we know, this could be Caitlin Herman levels of fumble and we get six punishments. That's still on the table. That could still happen. We could end up with the wildest, like, costumes coming back from the past instead of. But I think that one or two HOHs could just shift it. While there is reason to panic, I would say no one pushed the panic button yet. It's only day 10 and just have fun because it's gonna get chaotic, and that's what we're here for.
Taran Armstrong
It's very true. And I do think the Angela Drew stuff is definitely the biggest crack in this alliance, especially because Drew not only still at the moment has options on the other side, but he also now has infiltrated pretty deeply into the red corner of it all, where, you know, I don't know that Angela will be able to. I mean, Drew versus Angela, war in general, it's not even about who wins it. It's that if it happens, it. It could destroy everything because they both have a good amount of power right now. So. So that's definitely something to watch out for. But, yeah, I mean, here. Here we are. You know, it's. And for right now, it's still, you know, I think here's what I. Here's what I will say. Here's what I will say because I know we're always worried about a steamroll. We're always worried about, like, will this get boring? But at the end of the day, we're not in control of what happens in the house. I mean, theoretically, we're in control of, like, the vote who gets a power. Right. But also, like, if you're listening to this podcast, we don't really have control over that either. Like, this is. The casual audience is going to carry that.
Puya
We're a small group.
Taran Armstrong
It, like, who you root for doesn't actually change the outcome. So, like, it's not like, oh, we can't root for this, because then the steamroll will happen, and we'll get. And we'll get bored. It's like, don't. You're thinking too far ahead.
Puya
Don't.
Taran Armstrong
Don't be so in your head. Just enjoy what comes to you when it does. When there's a big moment like this, enjoy it for what it is in the moment. If it gets boring later, it's not our fault. We didn't cause it just because we liked it in the moment. You know what I mean? Like, we. We are not in control of fate like that. So try to take things for what they are as much. This is my advice. Try to take things for what they are as much as you can in the moment. Enjoy what you have while it lasts. And then if it goes away, it goes away. But, you know, for now, this is. This has been fun.
Puya
Hey, as we always say, you got to take Big Brother like a marathon. Take it a day at a time. Work on the steps. Enjoy it. Savor this meal while we have it. Because while today's menu was nice, maybe in two weeks we're getting just a box of saltine crackers with no water. Like, really, it could end up being that kind of day. You got to take every day. That's good. Good. And not think about the menu later down the line.
Taran Armstrong
Yeah. All right. Anything else, Puya?
Puya
I am good, man. This was great. I'm so happy to be back potentially. And I really hope tonight like this nom sparks a fire under everybody, because that will only mean that we will continue to get more juicy HOH nights and not quiet HOH nights. And this could be the. The thing that sets it off. And that means we will have very fiery Fridays, which I'm very here for.
Taran Armstrong
Yes. All right, well, that is what we have for you today, then. On the update we did, Rob and I talked to Ashley earlier this morning, so that should be released pretty shortly. Hopefully, by the time you're listening to me saying this, it will either be up, like, right away or already up if you're listening to it after the fact. So check out our interview with Ashley. Rob's gonna be doing a Q A for the patrons soon as well, so make sure you tune in for that if you are a patron of Rob's podcast. And I'll be back tomorrow morning, 11am Eastern, to update you. And everything that happens today on The Big Brother 28 live feeds should be an exciting one, so stay tuned for that. And of Course, I'm live during episodes. I'm putting out all kinds of content over on my patreon, watching other shows streaming live. Regular feed streams are in the works. So check out all of that stuff over on my patreon. Very grateful for those that do Puya. What do you got going on?
Puya
Well, I'm available on all social platforms at Puyaism. As far as streaming goes, I plan to be live tonight. I am going to a concert. We'll see if I can get back on time and we see the Black Keys tonight. I'm very pumped.
Taran Armstrong
Okay.
Puya
Yeah. So if you know where to find me, it's Switch TV Puya. I'll be there. Probably looking to be there at 10pm Eastern like we are every Friday night. So come check us out there. Liana will be recording the Pu and Liana Lounge this weekend. So you can find that. I've honestly, I've decided for the segment I'm gonna ask her to name every person in the tool shed. What name are they? What's their moniker? And then find out what she would name me in the tool shed alliance.
Taran Armstrong
So we'll check on like what, what tool each person is.
Puya
Exactly. Exactly. Well, she'll be sorting them all and it'll be very fun. And then obviously still talking 90 Day Fiance on the Hot mess express. And Annabelle and I in a couple of weeks will be diving into the Traders Australia season three. They are back and we will be there. So make sure you check all of those out and otherwise. Yeah, but I'm gonna be talking about this big brother all summer long. Going to have fun with it.
Taran Armstrong
All right, well, thank you all so much for joining us here today and I will see all of you next time.

This episode covers Day 10 inside the Big Brother 28 house, focusing on the fallout from the season’s second eviction, the turbulent aftermath of a new Head of Household (HOH), and the formation of a major alliance that could define the season. Taran Armstrong and Puya break down the strategic chaos, shifting alliances, and showmance drama, all while delivering humorous and insightful commentary for superfans and casual viewers alike.
“Everyone...they start pulling everyone up. The only person they can’t get is Barrett, who is sleeping in the have not room. D tries to grab him, but he’s not waking up. And instead, the person that wakes up is Rome, who's like, what's going on? Very messy.”
— Taran [40:01]
“Here’s what I think we should do. I think that you should target Rome… If we take Rome out, the rest of them fall… This is big brother.”
— Angela (paraphrased by Taran) [29:14]
“If this is played perfectly, this is going to be really, really difficult to overturn, especially with six powers coming… declaring war, backdooring Rome, has more holes in it, and it also allows the other side to more obviously become underdogs on the TV version of the show.”
— Taran [65:24]
“Rome just like, honestly, at this point, I think I want to just go up and cause a scene and Lyrics: No, no, don’t cause a scene. No, no.”
— Taran [45:22]
“Angela says... do not give any information to Drew… Don't tell him who you're nominating. Don't give him anything. I don't trust him at all.”
— [29:14]
“Try to take things for what they are as much as you can in the moment. Enjoy what you have while it lasts. And then if it goes away, it goes away. But, you know, for now, this has been fun.”
— Taran Armstrong [70:37]
