the drama, all the strategy and silliness from veto to hoh every single season, you know he is the reason, you know what's happening happening. Rob said that he could do it tomorrow. He will do it again. Hello everyone and good morning. Welcome to our live feed update for July 24th. I'm your host John Armstrong and I'm here to update you on everything that happened yesterday on the Big Brother 28 live feeds. It was day 17 in the house and we had an eviction. We have a new hoh, we have new ish plans for the nominations and plenty to get to here today. With me to talk about it all is booyah. How you doing? Booyah.
Puya
I'm doing good, Taren. Last week we were treated to an all timer. People were saying one of the best Thursday nights we've had in many seasons. Last night felt a little more reminiscent of the of the regular of a normal of a standard week. But we'll talk about it.
Taryn
Yes, things a little more chill here. I did just get off the phone with Rome in our exit interview so you can stay tuned for that after this update is finished. But in the meantime, let's get to it. Of course, heading into the eviction, Rome, Melody, Jason on the block. Rome was going to be evicted in any scenario that he didn't win the blockbuster. We saw that play out on the episode. The Melody Jason vote never came through. It was always going to be Melody saved over Jason. However, Taylor was still doing Some work to try to get that vote happening. Ultimately, we saw that she casts a rogue vote for Rome to stay over Melody, which was quite interesting, but we can talk about that a little bit later. Really, there wasn't much that went down prior to this vote. It kind of locked in that it was Melody, Mallory and Lyric talked and Lyric backed down from the Melody Jason vote as well. So it was going to probably be close to unanimous. There was a plan in place to pull Taylor and Lala and make sure that they knew the votes weren't there because they had been trying to say that Dee and Angela would vote with them. But again, all of this is kind of moot because none of it happened.
Puya
Yeah. I mean, there's not much to say when the consensus person that's going to leave, no matter who he's sitting next to, ends up not winning the blockbuster that we end up here. I guess the one happy. The thing I can be happy about is is that it wasn't a full unanimous just so that there could be some intrigue with people doing a hinky vote hunt. But beyond that, not much else to report here.
Taryn
Yes. So we get to the eviction and of course Rome was evicted joining Ashley and Rachel in the eviction. Devastating.
Puya
Whose idea was this? Who came up with the idea to give Ashley company and Rome there also? Why is Rachel there? I'm just.
Taryn
She was on the season.
Puya
She was canonically on the season. We could have had a better photo of Rachel. I feel like that wouldn't have made the memory wall, but.
Taryn
Well, the. The whole point is that when you're evicted, you are, you know, the photo of you is now eviction version of you. And, you know, that is the last
Puya
photo of Rachel we saw. Yeah.
Taryn
Had some of her skin come off. So anyway, feeds come back actually from post eviction before the. The HOH competition and. And we get a little bit of intrigue here because of that vote, that rogue vote from Taylor. Lyric is denying her vote. She not denying her vote. Sorry. Denying the vote that she did not actually cast is true. True denial. Saying that, you know, she did vote Rome out and for the most part, you know, there's a. There, like, there's an assumption that it was probably her. To people who, like, haven't really fully heard the denial, but to those that she has, like, said it wasn't her, they mostly believe her because why would she lie? But really, like, the main headline is that nobody really cares, at least at this point. And we've talked about this a lot that when it comes to rogue votes, it usually matters more or less, depending on who wins hoh. And. And at this point in the night prior to the hoh, I don't think anybody in particular is super interested in causing a fuss before knowing who the HOH is. And so even, like, Melody's like, I don't. It's fine, let's just. Let's just leave it for now.
Puya
I think that makes the most sense simply because you don't know who's going to win, you don't know who's going to come by. And like, usually people will come forward. Once you have power, you can get the answers you want if you. And I just don't think there's much right now that mattered for them. As far as hunting down who was the one person who voted against the house, I don't think that was going to be a big deal here. Obviously you can absolutely use this hinky vote to, you know, fill your own theories in and get the people you want to be targeted. Targeted using that.
Taryn
Mm. Devens does make a joke at Drew and Barrett about, like, doesn't look great for you guys because of all of the talk about the rogue votes the day before. We anticipated there was a chance that this could be framed, that they could be framed for this. But again, this is not really going anywhere at this point, so we're not going to dive too, too deep into it. Lyric, though worth noting is back to her lyric Irwin ways, like, talking down, like, yeah, you know, Rome said that he loved me, but I wasn't really ready for that. And Chuck so silly and, and, and people are noticing and talking and commenting on it. But, but I do think it's still, like, it's still working on Chuck and Yash despite all of what just happened in front of them with Rome.
Puya
Declaration of love, very public kiss, Very public. He denied everyone else hugs to be like, this is our moment. And yet an hour later, body's not even cold yet. And Chuck is acting like there's a chance he's putty. It works. Lyrics has that. That charisma to her, though, and it works quite a bit. But I also think other people are not blind to it completely.
Taryn
And to be fair, the body was colder than Rachel's still, that.
Puya
That body was in lava.
Taryn
Yeah. Yeah. So feeds go back down for the HOH competition. Nothing really of import is going to happen prior to that. And when they come back, we learn that, number one, it was a booth competition, some sort of quizzy kind of thing. Number two, Hosted by Jesse Godders. Wrestlegasm. Not sure why they paired that with a booth competition, but you do you.
Puya
That's fine. I have more of a qualm with the gasm. I feel like we could have said wrestle anything. I'm curious why gasm?
Taryn
What show are we talking about?
Puya
I don't know because I will say I feel like Love island finished. Yet here we are about to enter week three, and so many Love island esque things have been happening. Wrestlegasm beard.
Taryn
If this was Love island, it would have been like French frygasm and they would have been regurgitating slime into each other's mouths.
Puya
Like I was gonna say. Yeah, this competition is called Mama Bird and here's how it works. We're good.
Taryn
We also learn that before I give you the results, there were to my estimation, what I'm hearing roughly, you know, and I don't know exactly if this is like, if this is what's happening, but I'm gonna paint a picture for you based on who we heard was close to winning and who won. There's a theoretical world where this competition came down to Mallory, Lyric and Kamu and that's. Those are very different worlds that we could live in. And you might have already gotten the sense based on how we introduced this podcast, but Mallory and Lyric both lost to Kamu. Kamu is our new HOH for the week.
Puya
Devastating result. Devastating if you were looking for a little bit of chaos. Devastating if you were looking for a little bit of unknown territory. Kamu, low key Terran. I find someone else here that you think would have been a more straightforward person than K winning.
Taryn
That's. That's exactly. That's exactly what I was tweeting out last night. I was like, KU's literally the steadiest hand in the entire house. Like, Kamu is the last person I would expect to make a silly mistake. The last person I would expect to do anything that rocks the boat. I like Kamu, has consistently over the past two weeks been the one to argue since to the bad plans being proposed. And it makes a lot of sense for him to not rock the boat. And pretty quickly, before I even bother to give you this is probably what he should do. I can tell you that right away we learn. He tells Drew, I'm thinking Mallory, Jason Lala for nams. Mallory or Jason being top two picks to evict make a lot of sense for Kamu, at least in his mind for what he's doing now. I actually think that Mallory isn't the Best person for Kamu to evict? Is Jason the best person for Kamu to evict? That's a little more debatable. I do think that Jason is clearly good at comps now. Like, leaving people in to go after vets for Kamu is, I think, generally a good thing. But here's the other thing. There's almost nobody else in the house for Kamu to target. He's working with nearly everyone, and he has good working relationships with most other people that he could target without blowing up his entire game. And I don't think it makes sense for him to blow up his entire game. So Mallory, Jason, Lala as nominees is his initial thought, and it does kind of make sense.
Puya
Do you think? So we're talking booth comp here. We're talking. This could have been the three left at the end. Is this just Kamu winning to stay to keep the tool shed strong? Because for him, it's fine. I think he probably knows his life's going to be fine. I'm assuming this is more of a pro toolshed pick, even though he would have been fine with anybody else winning.
Taryn
Yeah, I mean, you know, in the world where Mallory and Lyric are close to winning, obviously you're gonna maybe try to win. Lala was, I think, up there, and I think, like, Barrett was doing pretty well. It's always hard to know based on how they describe it, but it seems to me like it was probably like, it's. It's hard to. It's hard to throw a booth comp to a person unless it's an elimination boothcom and it's only you two left or something. So if there were that many people who were in it at the end, I think obviously you're just gonna try to win. I think that makes a ton of sense generally, and I do think that Kamu winning this hoh makes a ton of sense for his game. In the world where Lala wins, who knows what happens that's bad for Kamu. In the world where Mallory wins, yeah, maybe she goes after the vets, but there's a lot of people who would maybe try to point her in other directions toward Haley and Chuck and who knows, maybe Kamu. So Kamu winning this allows him to do what he wants. He's going to set himself up. He's very much a. Like, he's a highly structured player, and giving him an hoh early in the season like this, very reminiscent of, like, Derek winning in the early portions of 16, doing something very straightforward and boring and taking out Devin and setting himself up for success in the future. Kamu is going to later tonight explain that he is basically taking after Derek. He watched 16 before coming in after house and. And so, you know, he really is kind of playing by the book, which I was talking about in week one. They went off the book last week, but. But Kamu, I think, wants to play by the book and this is all kind of by the book so far.
Puya
I feel like Kamu also might be my top candidate for he doesn't get initially nom because of his positioning, but all it takes is one person winning the veto and people be like, should we just take the shot at him now? Like, is this the best moment? Because we might not get another one. I think that's someone I could see Kamu slotting into that spot. So for him being safe, like, this is not a bad call at all. Yeah.
Taryn
He does quickly tell Melody that she is good as well. Worth pointing out ahead of time here that Drew, Melody and Kamu have. Have been good. Obviously, Drew and Kamu have a final two. Melody has a good relationship with Kamu. Kamu, as has actually specifically mentioned to the tool shed that he cannot go after somebody like Melody. Other people will need to do that for him. So Melody does appear to be off the table for the first week in her entire game. And. And so, you know, having already said that, uh, Mallory, Jason and Lala are likely the noms. Melody is not a potential renom, nor does he want to make a renom, but at this point, we don't entirely know who his renam would be. We will find that out shortly. Don't worry.

Jason, of course, is concerned he's going to try to come up with a plan to maybe try to pitch Devins or something. It doesn't really end up happening, nor does it really, you know, have any space to go anywhere. Jason has no information to dump. He's just. Just a. A pitch. Jason is just at the bottom here. Is gonna have to win a competition is. Is very likely the case. So. So we move forward through the night. Uh, D does have a conversation with Taylor. It's a little choppy in terms of the feeds coming in and out, so it was a little difficult to fully grasp exactly what they were saying here. I don't think, like, like, if they were talking about specifically the vote or just Taylor campaigning for the vote, but. But Dee does for sure mention, like, hey, I didn't appreciate that you were using my name in your campaign for Jason to stay over. Melody, like, saying that you had my vote like that. Like, that's not. That's not cool. And she didn't do it in, like a super, like, like, chastising way. She tried to, like, keep it chill. And Taylor was like, oh, I'm sorry. Like, I didn't mean to. I'm new to this game. And he's like, me too. And. And she kind of tries to pawn it off on Jason a little bit. Like, oh, I was talking to Jason. Then Jason would run around and it's a little bit of a word salad. But, you know, basically D is just being like, don't do that. Don't. Don't use my name in a campaign like that.
Puya
I'm not mad at a fair warning of, like, red card or red flag. Don't do that. Because I think ultimately what you don't want to do is have that be normalized for someone. So if they even fear it, a Little. They might just not touch the stove again. And I think that's fine to do, depending on how you deliver the message, obviously.
Taryn
Yes. So before we get into Kamu's one on ones, because he is going to do some one on ones overnight, which is if this is going to be the new norm, you're gonna have a feast every. Every Friday here. Normally they wait for the one on ones for Friday morning because it's really late to do them overnight, but here we are. But before we get into those, I did want to. I. So, you know, I posted a poll last night on Twitter. This is not, of course, I don't even think it's even close to indicative of where the. Where the actual votes may fall for who wins the power. First of all, the voting takes place over the course of the entire week, not just overnight. So take that for with a grain of salt. Another thing is that the online fan base is very small in comparison to the overall audience of the show who tends to carry these votes in the first place. Not to mention that my audience or the people who would vote on Twitter are an even smaller subset of the online audience. So those caveats taken into consideration, roughly 9,000 votes in the Twitter poll. And I separated the people out into just like groups of people because you can only choose four people or four options on Twitter. So I put like D and Devins as like, did you vote for them? Barrett and Drew? Did you vote for one of them? Lala, Taylor, Jason or Mallory, Melody, Lyric? And then I left red corner off because quite frankly, I don't think they're getting votes and I didn't have room for them. And the results were not great if you're an online fan because they were basically even between D and Devin's. Barrett and Drew, Mallory, Melody, Lyric, they all shared like 28.6, 28.8, 26.5 votes. So, like, it's very split in. In this corner of the fan base. There's probably a lot of Drew support, there's probably a lot of Devin support, there's probably a lot of like, Mallory support. And these votes are getting split all over the place. And that to me says that if there were any amount of, like, online sway for this vote, at least from again, this corner of the online fan base, it's basically moot. Like that this result tells me that all of these votes are going to basically cancel each other out and it's going to neutralize the casual fan base.
Puya
Yeah, I think so. And I guess the question I would have is Removing D and Devins from the equation now that Rome also left. Who would you say had the best quote unquote presentation or edit last week that you would think would be a contender from the casual side in terms
Taryn
of raw edit, I do think Drew had one of the better ones, but that's taking out the case that there are already people a lot very familiar with Devin's and I think Devin's had probably the strongest edit on top of being the strongest presence. I do think that Devin's is, is my locked in pick for who's going to receive this power. I do think he'll, he'll outshine D who was quieter in the edit over the week. He was the hoh. He made the move. He did so in a gentlemanly way and while still a causing chaos and being likable and fun. The thing I'm looking out for is really next week after Devins who I assume is receiving this power gets it. Will they go to D next or will it go to somebody like Drew or Mallory who might be targeted this week or Jason even? Not likely with the casual audience at this point. But will they start going to the underdogs this week considering how sort of like overpowered one side is starting to become? That is probably the more interesting question at this point.
Puya
Yeah, I'm intrigued because I do think that especially with the tides continuing on this path, while I think D star power should still put her in contention next week, I feel like are we going to end up having an overwhelming. Okay, we need an underdog to break the status quo especially I don't know how they're going to present this week. It's very, very straightforward. So there will. And when you're going to have repeat noms again, I could see that changing things because truly if Mallory and Jason do go up, we are one more nomination cycle away from my where I'm standing, where we're going to end up with our. These are our two mainstays at the, at the nomination with a tertiary edition there. So we'll see.
Taryn
Yes. All right. So keep that in mind, of course, as we move forward. Kamu is going to start his one on ones and he talks to Taylor now. It's very. This is actually important. I'm glad I brought it up yesterday that Kamu and Taylor have been talking. They have a relationship in the game and it's mostly a personal one really at this point and so Kamu, you might have noticed, did not mention Taylor as an initial nom and when talking to Taylor says You're safe this week, Fully safe this week. Don't worry about anything. But of course, considering he plans to nominate Lala, they do end up talking a bit about Lala and basically like, whether Taylor would be okay letting Lala go, which she's not, though she does, you know, have some concerns about Lala as a game player. She appreciates her, she likes her, but also, you know, so your regular kind of like distancing while still supporting kind of conversation. I think Taylor does a good job here. She's been doing a good job with Kamu. It's coming in very clutch, even more clutch than she or you, the audience might even think at this point in the night. And so very important conversation with. With Kamu and Taylor.
Puya
Yeah, I think getting the early talk in also, ultimately, timing sometimes is all you need to be is the right place, right time. I think this timing was perfect for Taylor.
Taryn
Yes. And that's because downstairs, Dee and Angela are talking about commu's plans. They've now been let in on the nomination plans. Mallory, Lala and Jason. And Angela's not a fan. She doesn't like these noms, you might think, like, oh, of course, easy nominations, easy week. But, but this is Angela's house. She runs things around here. She's made that clear. And so she's like, I don't want to Lala to go, I don't want Mallory to go. Remember, Angela really likes Mallory. From week one, she's been comforting Mallory when she was on the block. She's maintained a good relationship with Mallory despite Mallory being one of the most dangerous players for the vets. Angela in particular feels really good with her. And, and this is one of the indications, I think, of how much influence Angela has over D, because you might think it's the opposite, considering their stature as players. But I think that the Mallory situation is very indicative of, you know, and I'm sure they influence each other to some degree. But the fact that D is not concerned about Mallory much because of a few different things. But I think largely because Angela's like, no, I like Mallory, I want Mallory in is. Is pretty big in terms of understanding that relationship. But either way, Angela wants Mallory and Lala to stay. She wants not Drew, but Taylor to go. And remember again, I mentioned this yesterday, she was just talking about how Taylor has. She, she's. She has winner written all over her. And this is going to be the phrase that she's going to continue to use. Taylor has winner written all over her. She's smart, she's social. She's becoming more active. And she, I think, did not like how Taylor was moving the day before with the vote. And. And. And all of a sudden, Angela, she's kind of. She's kind of like, you know, drew, we'll get to him. Taylor, she's gotta go.
Puya
Interesting, because. And let me be probably the 17th person to say that I do not understand why Angela. The paranoia, like, takes her. But at least with Drew, if I'm putting myself in her shoes, I'm like, okay, Drew is active. He's moving around. He's got a lot of relationships. He's talking to everybody. People are confiding in him. They're saying, we discussed at the round table where the people are telling him things and then he's sharing them. So can it be like, well, what are you saying about me? That they're so comfortable sharing this stuff with Taylor? What, she. She came out of her shell. Now we're gonna punish her? Like, is that what it is? Oh, she was on the block week one, and now she's getting a little comfortable. I don't like that. Weird to switch up when. And again, not advocating that she should keep looking at Drew, but weird to just abandon the Drew plan for suddenly looking at Taylor. And mind you, I think this is where I wanted to bring this point up earlier. Taryn Kama is probably one of the biggest advocates for, hey, I'm gonna get rid of someone that you probably wouldn't be able to get rid of. And then you get rid of someone that I would want to get rid of. I think he's going to, like, this is the. The last hoh that'll probably do this for you. Because he's like, no, no, I'll get someone that you can't get out. Then you can get this person that you want out so bad.
Taryn
Yes. And it's at this point in the season that I'm. I'm. I've. I've been waiting to talk about this, because if anyone recalls, in season 26, the biggest piece of analysis that I concluded when it came to Angela was that the closer you are to Angela, the more she suspects you of wrongdoing. The closer you are, the more aligned you are with Angela, the more of an enemy you become to Angela. And I think we are. To some degree, she has improved because she hasn't turned on Dark yet or Devin's.
Puya
Yeah.
Taryn
But outside of her core, this is proving true. You know, she's in an alliance with Drew. In the core of the crossovers with Drew and debt and Barrett and she's getting more and more suspicious, more and more focusing on them. We've talked about this that like third parties are getting passes while Drew and Barrett are getting suspected of things that they're not even doing. You know. And there's reason to suspect them for plenty of things but not the things that Angela's concerned about generally. Then she makes an alliance with Lala and Taylor and I'm like here we go. This is actually great for Angela. Indeed. This would be a great long term crew to run with. Except now that she's in an alliance with Taylor, I don't know. She's got winner written all over her. I don't like the position that she's in that I just put her in because she's in an alliance with me. I'm concerned about how good she's feeling now. I'm concerned about how she's, how smart she. It's like you best thing to do with Angela is stay as far away.
Puya
Yeah. She is the sun. Do not fly too close Now Terence, sometimes when people play these, these games or go on these shows, I feel like the first experience of, of wrongdoing they feel hits the hardest and then proceeds to paint the picture for them the rest of the way. Paints their feelings, their fears. Who would we credit with that? Who was the first person Angela got close to in 26 that she felt did her wrong? Who can we credit all this to?
Taryn
I mean I think it's, I think it was like Joseph and Quinn.
Ad Voice
Yeah.
Puya
I was thinking that the, the, the
Taryn
low budget actors who were genuinely trying to make an alliance with her and she did not believe them and then blew up their entire spots at that point. So, so yeah, here we are. Angela looking at Taylor now they do they pitch this to Devins and Barrett that like hey, I feel like Taylor maybe should be more of the target but Devin's disagrees. Devin says no. I feel like Kamu's head's probably in the right spot here. I think that Mallory and Jason are the bigger threats to us right now. Taylor's more of like a long term issue and I completely agree with Evans here. I think K is doing them a great favor by taking out either Mallory or Jason. Taking out Taylor would be such a waste for the vets. It was. This is, I mean it's. It. I, I almost, I didn't mention it because it goes without saying but like there's no reason at all to take out. Taylor's an ally of yours, Angela and like what are we doing here? But once Devin's and Barry leave again alone with with D, Angela is, like, not giving up on this. She's like, I think maybe we can still get Taylor on the block. We can tell Kamu about some of the things that she's doing. We can try to get her back door if we have to. And then D who's like, hold on, I'm still in the last person that we did that we agreed we didn't. Like, I haven't moved on yet. Could we backdoor Drew this week and just like, nah, Drew's for later, Taylor for now. Besides, we probably can't even get Drew anyway. I feel like Taylor, we should try to do.
Puya
I don't get it. You know, it couldn't be me. I don't understand how you're making connections with people. You're in alliances with people. You're like, this is the one. Now is the time. How about we take the other people that are not in any alliances with you first and then look inwards like, we got plenty of time. This is still week three. Still 15 people left.
Taryn
Yeah. And so this was interesting from D as well. D is still locked on Drew. The fact that she'd even bring up Drew as a back door this week, we knew it could happen. I didn't think she'd bring it up even with Kamu as hoh. Obviously she doesn't recognize how close Kamu is to Drew. But. But. But she's definitely looking for this. And we knew this. She talked to Devins about how it's coming soon and that Drew and Barrett are going to end up blowing stuff up. Devin's tried to say, but we should go at least one more week. But, like, you see this in every conversation D is in. In that conversation with Taylor, when she was talking about how Taylor shouldn't use her name in campaigns, Taylor literally was like, I. I didn't campaign to. To Drew. And before she could continue the thought, D. Just like, by reflex. Yeah. He's all over the place.
Puya
Right.
Taryn
And. And Taylor's like, well, no, I just meant that, like, he was obviously a vote for Melody. And he's like, right, right, right. He's very focused still on Drew. And I think there's a non zero chance that she's. That she might float this idea to Kamu at some point in the week, which would be very, very bad if she did, I think.
Puya
Do you think that outside of Angela leaving, like, Angela being evicted, is there any way the Angela Fog that D is being impacted by can Dissipate with both of them still being in the house.
Taryn
When it comes to Drew specifically or
Puya
in general, I feel like low key, depending on how this Taylor stuff goes. Maybe in general. But right now just let's focus on the Drew thing because that's been the most prominent.
Taryn
I don't think. I don't think. I think Drew is too far gone. I think that Barrett could come back from it. I think it's too far gone for Drew.
Puya
Okay.
Taryn
Like, like they could only. They could only repair that in the way that like anything in the Big Brother house gets like a big blow up or like massive shifts in the house dynamic if things stay roughly the same. I don't think there's any salvaging it between the two of them at this point. So this is where Angela and D are at. They are, to their credit, trying to give us better TV this week and we'll see how successful they are at it. Kamu talks to Lyric and he mentions that, and I think this was intentional wording. He has no intention of nominating her, meaning she's not an initial nom. But as we'll soon learn, she is probably the replacement nominee in the event that the veto is used. He doesn't tell her that. He just says that he has no intention of nominating her. Lyric does her thing. Little bit of a flirtiness, a little bit of a Rome distance. She does dump some info on him about, like how her relationship with Jason has been after everything that happened. And does her thing. Which is one of my favorite moves by Lyric, which is, listen, I can talk to Mallory. I can get her to not come after you, which she's done with D many times and it's been very effective. But she also talks about how Mallory has been wary of Melody after week one when Melody said that she wasn't going to use the veto on Mallory. You know, that time that Melody didn't have the veto and said that. But she lets Camus know about this and further denies her vote or further. Sorry, I keep saying her vote as if she's denying an actual thing. Further denies that she was the vote because she wasn't. And so interesting conversation with Lyric. It's. It is going to be somewhat important here moving forward, not only because of the information, but because of the. The promise to not nominate her.
Puya
I also really do like the. The throwing out the whole Melody Mallory of it all, Takamu, because I think even if that's salvaged, even if that's the thing, even if people are still looking at Them as a three. I think this is still good to establish that there is a split here. Now, unfortunately, Melody is the one that Camus has in his equation, so that means Mallory could still very well go up. But I wasn't upset about the. The information that was put out here by Lyric. I think she did a good job of it. Unfortunately, things may have already been a little bit set in stone before she even entered that room.
Taryn
Yeah, it was an interesting ploy here and, and I call it a ploy, but it's, it's somewhat genuine. Mallory has expressed these things to Lyric. They are genuine. That said, she. It's kind of been smoothed over. Like it's. It's kind of in the past and Lyric is talking about it like it's in the present. And I think that's mostly because she's just trying to. To just further help take Target off of the three of them, given that that's probably much of what she has left at this point. The problem is that this is being relayed to Kamu, who has a good relationship with Drew, and Drew might bring it back to Melody. And, you know, there's a world where this gets a little weird, but. But overall it's probably fine. We'll. We'll end up seeing more, I'm sure, in the future if anything comes of it. Ku does talk to Melody. He says she's good again, she's safe this week. He wants to work with her and Drew. And he also really likes Yash. Like, that's a good kind of like 4 person, ish thing that in his mind, he lets her know that Lyric is in fact the replacement nominee in the event that one of the initial nominees of Jason Lala or Mallory come off the block. Obviously, none of this is great news to Melody, but it is the first time that she's fully safe during a week, or at least so far. So. So, you know, this is. She's. She's feeling good. I think in general about this conversation.
Puya
I would too if I just came off the block and the HOH tells me you're not going back up tomorrow. Like, I think that's a very safe place to be. Also, I want to raise this. Also, last week Devin's declared, I am not putting the same people up again. We are going fresh table, fresh batch. And we thought could this set the culture for the season that people decide not to do that for a little bit again? Common one of the worst picks for that culture to continue. He was never going to follow suit. Here we are.
Taryn
Yes, yes, for sure. But then he gets talking with Drew and, and this is, of course, when things get a little more interesting. He's got the handyman with Drew Final two alliance and, and Drew comes out hot. He says, I don't think that Mallory or Lala should leave. And this makes sense. Right? Jason, while possibly valuable because he's going after the vets, isn't connected in any significant way to Jason or, sorry, to Drew or Ka Mu or really anybody in that sphere of influence. Jason is a potentially valuable person, but only as a pure wild card who could really go off in any direction, whereas Mallory is a targeted strike. They have a lot of influence over Mallory, particularly Drew, Melody, etc. And so Drew is like, I, I think in Drew's mind, like, he would love to keep Mallory safe this week and ideally make sure the target lands on Jason. Now, that's hard to do when there's three nominees, a veto, a blockbuster. And so Drew is going to pitch a more targeted strike at Jason. He says, why don't we backdoor him? This will help ensure that Jason is on the block come eviction night and give Mallory a better chance of pulling herself off the block prior to eviction night. And. And to make sure that Jason is more of the primary target here, it makes a ton of sense for Drew to shift this plan in this direction. And Drew, most notably, I would say, over the course of the night, is the only person who manages to convince Kamu to change any bit of his plan as he pitches this backdoor idea. And Camus likes it. Problem is, who is his initial nominee instead of Jason? And of course it's going to land on Lyric here, who was the replacement nominee now a potential initial nominee. He did tell Lyric that she wasn't going to be on the block, though. That's a bit of a problem. He'll just have to go back on it because he likes the idea that much. So the plan has shifted. The new initial nominees are Lyric, Lala and Mallory with the intention of backdooring Jason.
Puya
It's. Yeah, you know, I want to go back to the first conversation, the right place, right time with Taylor, because and you've mentioned you brought up the wording with Lyric being, you know, and he basically implying you're not an initial nom with Taylor. It was, you're not going up this week. So if you're looking at who else could have been there, we are down to nothing. Yash, obviously he's trying to scoop up, you remove everyone from the tool shed. That doesn't leave anybody else but Lyric. And I have to feel like Kamu's hubris has him feeling. I can talk to Lyric. It'll be fine. Like he can smooth out over no problem. There's not many other places to go for him. As things stand, this is probably the problem with why Kamu winning this power was a little bit tough, but I did like what I saw from Drew here and I think also it further solidifies that this handyman thing has a lot of staying power. I think they have a lot of influence and. And this could be the real deal.
Taryn
Yes, I, I think it is very possible. Though I, I do still think, for the record, I do think that Drew is still playing Kamu more than he is with Kamu. And there are a couple little hints of with that primarily later on they have another convers night. That's that we'll get to. But in this conversation, Kamu does tell Drew about what Lyric said about Mallory being sus on melody. So that's where the information is going to travel. We'll see if it goes anywhere else. For now, the main point is that Drew has talked Kamu into changing the plan to backdoor Jason this week. Kamu talks to Mallory and, you know, it's. It's a pretty standard conversation, though he does ask her who her targets would be and she consistent says Devin's D and Jason. And I actually feel like saying mentioning Jason as a target here makes a lot of sense for her. It's not like she's gonna get away with lying and saying her targets aren't D and Devin's after she spent the entire week saying it. Maybe she shouldn't. Shouldn't have spent the entire week saying it. But like saying that she's also potentially targeting Jason actually has like dual purposes. One is that if people believe it, it incentivizes them to keep both her and Jason if they're thinking about targets like this would totally work on somebody like Ang who's like, oh, we keep them both in and we take out Taylor who's the real threat. It's not going to work on Camu though, so this is not going to do much for her at this point.
Puya
Not much I can add there, honestly. Just unfortunate and a little bit more foregone than any of the other conversations.
Taryn
Kamu talks to Devins about the new plan. He says, and this is something I thought was interesting from Kamu as well. I don't know how intentional it was, but when Camus says that he's got a new idea to backdoor Jason instead of putting him on the block right away. A lot of people in big Brother, they. They love to talk about plans that they came up with. They love to talk about plans like they came up with them. Even if they were talked into it, they say, no, that was my idea. I came up with it. Or, you know, they just, you know, in general, it's just like, oh, I. I had this great idea. Or even just like, hey, now I'm thinking x Camus. For as. As much as he loves to talk, seemingly either doesn't have that ego or smartly knows that it's good to kind of pawn ideas off on other people. When Kamu talks about the new idea of backdooring Jason, he always makes sure to say, I talked to Drew, and Drew came up with this great idea to backdoor Jason instead. And I really do like this a lot as a tactic. Again, I don't know if it was an intentional one, but it really does help push more of the heat onto Drew as the person who came up with this. Makes you look like you were easily swayed and that Drew is the real mastermind behind your hoh. There's a lot of reasons why I like this, but he does. And every single time I was making sure to listen, he makes sure he says, I was thinking this, but then Drew convinced me of this. And especially now, I say that I like that. In that sense, there is a downside to this, which is that he is in a final two with Drew, and Kamu is not easily swayed. And so the more other people try to sway him, and he says, drew is the one that convinced me of this, the more they might clock. Instead of just thinking Drew is really good at this, they might start to think Drew and Kamu are way too close. So there is downside there if you're. If you're too. Too much on it, like with most strategies. But I kind of liked this for now. As long as he doesn't go too overboard.
Puya
I think with the. The jacked dude archetype, you really could go one of two ways. One is, I am the big bad. I make the decisions. I lay down the law. I want what I want, and I'm going to go get it. Or you kind of come off like the loyal guy. And I feel like Kamu right now is riding more of that. He's more of a he. This can come off like he is a utility player. I do think it could backfire if he's a lot more headstrong with the, you know, refusing A Taylor Renom or refusing any other ideas down the line right now. This is perfect. I think it can also potentially help with. With Drew stuff maybe. I mean you already said it's far gone, so maybe it is far gone. But being like, hey, Drew said these, this idea in motion. None of your names were in there. Like will that end up being inceptioned?
Taryn
I don't think so, but I think, I think more likely the thought would be ah, see, Drew has way too much influence. Yeah.
Puya
That again, the. It's not looking good. Anytime Drew does anything, how is he gonna dare to exist in this house?
Taryn
Yeah. So Sukamu tells Devins about Drew's plan to backdoor and he likes it. Devin says, I like it too. He says, ah, the Rome treatment. Yes, yes, exactly. Kamu lets Devin know that Mallory said she was coming for him and D and and at this point they also agree as as Devin's loves to do, Lyric would be the person they pull down from the block with the veto if they were to win it. So Lyric would come down, Jason would go up and it would be Jason, Mallory and Lala on the block with the intention of evicting either J for Mallory. Jason being the primary target.
Puya
I don't love this for Lyric. Now I want to talk about this for a second because I feel like if Lyric is going to end up in the, for lack of a better reference, the Princess Peach spot where you have to like, we're constantly going to come to the next castle and find you. Right. Are they gonna just keep putting her on the block and be like, well, we'll just use the veto on her? Like I don't like that. I think it diminishes lyrics agency. I think it's bad for Lyric. Ultimately staying in the house is great. So I'm hoping Lyric wins the veto herself outright. In that situation. I'm so probably rooting for a Mallory veto for my own personal but for lyrics game. I don't love this. Let's just keep pulling her off the block thing. I don't think it's good for her.
Taryn
Yes, I agree. I agree. I also agree I'd love for Mallory to win the veto a second time. I think that would be an interesting presence in the house for her to be to have that. So Kamu talks to Angela, to D to Haley. He pitches the backdoor idea and there is some rebuttal. The like, hey, what about Taylor? You know, like I what about Taylor as the backdoor target instead of Jason? Sorry, it's just so silly. Pretty Much just flat out says, no, no, I have a good relationship with Taylor. Remember, as Puya you pointed out, Kamu is the guy who has talked about this is the beauty of the alliance. You guys can come after people I can't come after. And I can come after people you guys can't come after. And so in Kamu's mind, Taylor is somebody that is close to him. So he says, you guys can go after Taylor for me. Now, of course, problem is Angela and D can't go after Taylor because they made an alliance with her and. And so they're trying to get him to do it. But the problem is he has a good relationship with Taylor, so. So he denies this. Now, will he continue to say no to it? Honestly, I think so. Like I said, Kamu, unlike a lot of the other players in this house, tends to be very steady. It makes no sense for him to target Taylor, especially over Jason. This plan also kind of locks him into the Jason plan in a way that nominating Jason initially wouldn't. As much he. Because with Jason and Mallory on the block, somebody comes off the block. Yeah. Lyric is a good replacement pawn, but it kind of opens the door for, well, since I'm already out anything else I should pick up anybody else I should target. And. And because your targets are already all there on the block.
Puya
Exactly.
Taryn
Whereas the new Drew plan of backdooring Jason kind of locks you in a bit more Mallory, Lyric, and Lala on the block if, say, Mallory wins the veto or something along those lines, or anybody wins the veto if you decide to target anybody else. Now Jason's not even on the block at all. Not even a possible backup target. Not a person who can win a blockbuster against your real target. Like, it makes things a lot harder to change in the future. Something that I hadn't really considered a whole lot with the Blockbuster format to this point. But the backdoor plan in this way really tends to lock you into that plan much more so than. Than nominating your targets upright upfront might have otherwise. And that's the opposite of how it normally works without a blockbuster, where, like, without a Blockbuster, a backdoor kind of opens you up to the possibility of, like, completely changing your mind. Because it's only two nominees and nobody wins. Blockbusters save themselves. So. Interesting stuff. But. But point being, pretty unlikely to change, I think.
Puya
Yeah. Because your one replacement nom is one of your key targets. So, like, your life is fine after that. Exactly. Now.
Taryn
And with Blockbuster, you need those targets on the block. So if you haven't put them up initially. That one replacement slot has to go to them.
Puya
Exactly. Now, can I ask you a quick scenario question? Maybe I should have saved this for later, but I just can't not think about it. Jason off the block gets picked to play in the veto, wins the veto. Doesn't matter who he takes down. Let's say he takes down somebody who goes up.
Taryn
That's a good question.
Puya
Yeah, it's a fun one, isn't it?
Taryn
It is a good question. If we look at, I mean that at that point there would certainly be a huge push for an alternative target. There'd be a push for Taylor, of course. And at that point he might need to give in. Like he might need to say okay, because he won't want to do Yash. Ideally he won't want to do Melody and anybody else is in the alliance. So that's where it gets a little tricky. And that's where I could see Taylor ending up on the block. And if Jason did something like pull Mallory, Taylor could become the target. So there is some danger there. If say Jason pulled Lyric, then Mallory would still be the primary target, but Taylor could become the secondary target, at least for the D and Angela portion of things. I do actually think Lala would be the third in line target for, for people like Devins and Drew and Kamu himself. But, you know, it's also one of those things where like, once you nominate Taylor, maybe now you might as well target her because you promised her safety and you've ruined the relationship. So, so, so Taylor could be the target very easily in that situation.
Puya
I think, I genuinely think that's where it could, like, if this specific scenario plays out, that's where I think we end up by the end of the week because it's like kind of broke that let me just silently kick her out while I have the chance before because like, also again, no one else is like truly tied or at least he doesn't see it that way.
Taryn
He.
Puya
And if D and Angela are gonna, or Angela specifically gonna keep pushing Taylor, maybe at that point it does the tides shift that way. But I mean, we'll see. There's a very niche scenario has to play out there.
Taryn
It is a niche scenario, but it is certainly possible. And I do think that, like, and I'm, I'm, I'm excited to see. Well, excited. I'm, I'm interested to see this tested because I do feel like Kamu is one of the more predictable players on the board.
Puya
Yeah.
Taryn
If I think about like, what is just the, the thing that makes the most sense without rocking the boat. That's probably what he's going to do. That's my read on him. I could be wrong. Maybe he goes all over the place this week. But, but I think he's going to be predictable. And so I think that's probably the most likely thing that's going to happen. There might be some. Again there might be. And I would say too like maybe D pushes Drew, maybe there's a push toward Melody. But. And that's where maybe things could get really wild, like a juicy. In the event that Jason wins veto, pulls Mallory off the block and D's like, you know what? Now I don't like anybody leaving. What if I go for Drew and makes a hard sell to Drew or for Drew and then. And because I don't think, I don't think Kamu would do Drew. But he could, that it could backfire and he could go to Drew and tell him that he did this and it could really backfire on D or, or it could work and it could happen to Drew. But now it feels like I'm, you know, I'm Talking about like BB19 are all stars and I'm talking about situations that are not likely going to happen. Just could happen.
Puya
Yeah, we spent a lot of those seasons just sitting there cooking up with our own fantasies of what could happen. But if it did Taryn, this could be an all timer week.
Taryn
We'll see. All right, so Kamu talks to Barrett and Chuck lets them know about plan. Barrett gives his blessing for Mallory to go up on the block. Plan makes sense. Yash ends up joining them. Funny situation here with Yash in the room. They keep mentioning the tool shed because it's one of those situations like if the, if we're doing, if we're doing tool shed grateful comparisons then Yosh as a like 9th member is basically like the undeniable. He's like the Sam inclusion. He won the blockbuster and like there he's basically in the alliance but not really at least in common Kamu's mind, at least in this conversation they keep talking about tool shed. I don't know how much he caught from this. We haven't really seen the result of it.
Puya
But yeah, I don't think he caught any of it. I think very much intended not the sharpest tool in the shed that Yash. So it just went over his head or at least I was looking for facial reactions. There was nothing. There was no. That man's mind did not ring. Nothing was happening at all. So we'll see. I just. Even if he picked up on it, Taryn, I don't think he cares because he's with the bros. This is fun. This is where he wants to be.
Taryn
Yeah. All right, so Kamu talks to Drew again. He gets. He comes circles back to Drew and he says the backdoor plan is on the Handyman.
Puya
Let's go.
Taryn
We did it. And this is where we get a lot of the more sort of interesting long term stuff from the two of them. Kamu. This is when Kamu says watch BB16. He really likes how they played. He says they're like the hitmen in the bomb squad, the handyman in the tool shed. And. And Drew talks about this as well, saying, like, I feel like obviously Toolshed is great, but we know Drew doesn't like Tool Shed in general, in particular. This is what I think. I'm going to tell you what I think and I'm going to tell you what Drew says. I think based on what he's talked about with Barrett, that Drew wants Chuck and Haley gone, that Drew feels better with crossovers plus Kamu, plus Melody and Yash. Something along those lines, like, basically sub in Melody and Yash for Chuck and Haley. He doesn't have a great relationship with Chuck and Haley in the same way he does with course Melody and Yash. He has a good relationship with Kamu and he feels like he's good with crossovers. So what he tells Kamu is like, long term, I feel like our people, Yash, Melody, like, we want to bring them along. Like, I don't know if Tool Shed is our final eight. And Kamu agrees. And Drew says Yash, he's like our Victoria. Oof.
Puya
Love that. Wow. Incredible.
Taryn
He says Devin's. He's basically says, this is like my ideal crew. Yasha, Victoria, we got. I feel great about Devin's. Barrett, These are all great people to run with long term. And Camus agrees. He says at some point we're going to have to leave that train, the toolshed train. He said. Kamu says we rock with the tool shed as long as we can, but eventually we're going to run out of people on the other side that. That, you know, that aren't their people. Melody, Yash, like, when it comes to Melody or Yash, like, we're not taking them out. Like, there are people. And Drew is like, might be sooner than you think, like, it might be soon that we need to do something about this. And. And Drew mentions, like, obviously we're close with Haley and Chuck and Kamu says, I actually don't feel that great with Kamu, with, with Haley and Chuck. And I think this is exactly what Drew wants to hear. I think you've thrown out some bait there to, to like, just to give Kamu what he, what he felt like he wanted. So. So all this to say I think that in Drew's mind, again, he's pitching for like a long term solution of crossovers, plus Kamu, Melody Yash, which would also include Dapper Dan's of course, with Yash there, then he's very well insulated in all of these like little circles overlapping one another. That's a great end game scenario for him. He wants Haley and Chuck gone. He wants the rest of like Jason and Lyric and all of them gone. Keep Mallory around for a little while, ideally as a nice little target who he has some, some influence over. And in Kamu's mind, I think he's thinking somewhat along those same lines. Remember, in Common's mind, Red Corner still does exist. He is still closer to Haley and Chuck than I think he lets on. And this could be some friction between them eventually. But I do think that Kamu is in with. With Drew more so than Drew is in with Kamu. But either way, this is definitely a very important relationship and alliance for, I think the overall direction of the game.
Puya
I think that Kamu is living his best hitman fantasy. I think that's exactly what he wanted. That's exactly what he has, which is why I agree with you. I do think he is a lot more in this. Whereas for Drew, the fantasy is winning and win with whatever numbers he needs there. So I do not think Kamu is necessarily his end game by any means necessary. I don't have much else to add on what you said because I think you've summarized everything there perfectly. I do have a question that just entered my mind about like two minutes ago that I want to ask you. So because, and this stems from the fact that I do not like the name the Handyman. I don't like it. But I have to ask you, we're on the 28th season. At some point or has this happened before? At some point, can someone come up with the alliance name that has already existed down Big Brother memory lane and would they be allowed to use it or do you think production will be like, you have to name it something else because that's already been a thing. We've history of this.
Taryn
You know what? We've had very similar, I mean, crossovers and Crossroads already exists. I think. I think that Big Brother. It doesn't do this officially, but I think Big Brother operates in the way that I at least assume sports operate because this is my limited knowledge of sports in that if. If the alliance is prominent enough, they retire the name, so to speak. The.
Ad Voice
The.
Taryn
Like, nobody can be the Renegades in the Big Brother house unless you are Dan or Memphis. Nobody can be Chill Town unless you're really, at this point, well, and. And so on and so forth. Like, you know, you can't. You can't take a name unless you were part of the original name. If it was prominent, if it wasn't prominent, if it was just like, one of these workshop names that never even makes the show or just, like, very loosely makes the show, and then it sort of, like, goes away very quickly. Like, something like Red Corner could theoretically, I think, be used 10 years from now if it never comes up again on the season.
Puya
Right.
Taryn
But. But I think, you know, if it. If it's prominent enough, it gets retired.
Puya
I like that because I did see someone mention the chat. The Regulators. That's a good one to bring back. Someone should reboot that idea. I think that could be a fun name because I do think there are good names that, no offense to any of the players who are in them got wasted because they did not reach their full potential and kind of went by the wayside. So just bring them back.
Taryn
Oh, triple S. Can you add 2.0 after the name? And honestly, I think you could.
Puya
What about the second? You're like, we are the pen. The Regulators. The second.
Taryn
It's a little weird.
Puya
Yeah. It doesn't roll off the tongue quite as well. 2.0 is a lot easier.
Ad Voice
Yeah.
Taryn
Yeah. All right. So. So interesting stuff with Drew and Kamu here. And I'm gonna say again, I think that the fact that Drew is moving in this way is. I'm still gonna say, like, this is the fault. In some ways, I do think this is how Drew's always gonna operate. But, like, Drew should, and maybe he does. But, like, okay, what I'm gonna say is this is why D and Angela, instead of spending time not trusting Drew and smack talking Drew amongst themselves and to other house guests when they can't do anything about it, should instead be focusing their energy on making sure Drew feels good with them because he is dangerous. And you should be working on that relationship, keeping him close until you are actually ready to stab him in the back. All of this, like, we gotta test him. We gotta keep Melly on the block but not send her home. We've gotta like talk about him to other people including Kama who did not say anything about it worth noting. But like it's just dangerous stuff to, to operate in the way that they're operating. It has now gotten officially, I would say to the point where they do need to be wary of him as a general player. He hasn't been disloyal to them yet. Which, and that's what they think he, they think he's been disloyal. Hasn't been yet. But again, because there's like no relationship there they haven't really worked on at all, he's gonna keep moving away from them. He's going to keep moving in a direction that is not good for them and that is on them. Like they need to be working there. They, they successfully recognize that he's a good player, a dangerous player in the game.
Puya
Great.
Taryn
Make sure he's not doing anything to you.
Puya
That's all you can ask for at that point. But that's also. I want to revisit a conversation we had last week, Karen. We are once again at a new hoh. The HOH is kamu straightforward week. The side with the power has more power. Steamroll is going to come up again in discourse this week. But I will say my point is if there were seven kamus in the alliance I'm like all right, it's damned. Let's lock it down. It's a steamroll. We'll see you next week. There is enough dynamics within this majority alliance that I think chaos can reign supreme and we are currently starting to watch that happen because for as long as the status quo is maintained, if you have players who are messy or self interested or just curious on other people, they're gonna make other connections and they're gonna get themselves into a corner where when they do in power they don't know who to put up or when they do in power will they end up switching out on. Switching out on somebody? I think that's entirely possible. I don't think it's fully locked in. Maybe that's me tough and copium. I don't know but I like it. I think Drew is adding a lot by simply existing because other people are paranoid of him. I think Angela is sowing a lot of uncertainty in this alliance because of her paranoia overdrew or or her switch ups on people. So I think there's a lot that could happen Again hoping.
Taryn
I agree. I think that the odds are are in our favor that this is the. The quiet before the storm, the storm could have come this week. And that's where, like, my own disappointment came in. I was like, I was ready for things to pop off and comma was like, like kind of the one guy that I felt like would prevent the storm from coming because there is a storm coming. I think Kama will keep things calm this week, but there are high odds that the. The store storm comes next week with. With two caveats. One is that because of the powers, the storm is almost guaranteed to go in favor of the vets. Although theoretically, if it is Devin's, there's a 2 in 5 chance that he still gets a punishment, if that's even how it works. Because they said they're gonna list the. So tonight on Unlocked they're gonna list all of the. The powers and all of the punishments. And so. And actually I think it's. If it works the way I think it is, there's actually six powers and six punishments, I believe, and we're just not going to see all of them. I think. I think that's what it looked like on the board.
Puya
That makes sense.
Taryn
This is speculation.
Puya
Yeah, no, that makes sense because you. They said power or punishment for every week. So there should be six of each option on the table.
Taryn
Exactly. And so theoretically, if you take one punishment off the board, it's actually now you have a like 6 in 11 chance of getting a power the next time. So not actually as good as if it were only 3 and 3. But. But if Devin's gets a punishment instead of a power this week, I think that is again, a potentially massive shift in how things will go following week, especially since D is not even guaranteed to get the vote, let alone a power at that point. So would they do it that way? Would they make it theoretically possible that like four out of the six things are punishments and there's only two powers, like, because like, theoretically the odds of that happening are not that wild. Who knows? But either way, I think a storm is probably coming. This could be as unlucky as All Stars and where there was also a storm coming and it just never came because they just kept winning. But we have a lot of people in this alliance who are going to jump ship. It was the same as in All Stars. Like, there was. There were times that there were people who if they had won, they would have jumped ship, but they never did. So we'll see. But I share your. Share your optimism at this point. I think there's plenty of mess in this house and. And we'll see where it goes. Yash. Does let Lyric kind of like talk to Lyric at the end of the night, like, hey, if you go up, you'll be fine. Like one of those things. And, and I can tell you that Lyric has been talking to Kamu during this update and he's been letting her know that the plans have changed and that she's going up on the block. So this is, I think this is pretty locked in in terms of initial noms. We'll see where, where it all goes for the rest of the week, but I think, I think we're in for kind of a cruise control weeks for the most part, unless something really wild happens. But yeah, we'll see what, what goes on next week and we'll see what happens with this power. Theoretically, if the power is powerful enough, that could also change things this week. But if Devin's is the one to get it, he's probably the least likely. Like if, if D got it, she might use it to backdoor Drew. Devin's could still do it if D pushes him. I don't know.
Puya
I mean, we literally watched Devin's buckle at the first chance of chaos last week. So it could happen. It's not impossible. But yeah, I think that even during a cruise control week this early in the game with the players we have in front of us, I think there's still a lot of foundation that's going to get laid down. There's still a lot of people trying to figure out there and not end game, but their second half of the game. So I still think we're going to have a lot of fun conversations building up. I think boredom can be the worst thing that happens in the house for some players because they end up acting out and doing the most. So I think we're gonna have a lot of fun conversations along the way. At least that's what I'm hoping for here and we will see what happens there. With all of that, I had another point I wanted to bring up, but I've forgotten it, so I'll just move on.
Taryn
It happens. All right, that's about what we've got from yesterday. Puya, is there anything else that you would like to bring up from yesterday?
Puya
Yeah, one highlight not game related and was pre hoh, but when the feeds were on, there was this moment where Angela was laying down in her head costume as she does by the couches, and she was whispering to herself, please, please don't have me get disadvantaged because of this costume for the hoh. She was very worried that this punishment was going. This costume was going to get in the way of whatever the HOH is. And legitimately, it was poetic. Within seconds, Big Brother announced that punishment was over. And she didn't even hear it. Everyone else heard it and popped off. So we had a very fun de egging ceremony where the egg was removed and then everyone kind of jumped around. That was a very fun moment. Again, no ramifications to anything, but if you wanted a little bit of chuckle, go find it on socials.
Taryn
Yes, she hatched finally from the egg. What was funny to me was that after she got out of the egg costume, she went back to her laying spot in. In front of the, like, on the floor, in front of the couch, but without the egg. It's like she's like, you know what? This kind of works.
Puya
Yeah, you're comfortable in your spot. You're like, this is my comfort spot and I like being here.
Taryn
It's like my cat, like just found a spot. She's like, this is my spot for a little while. I don't care. I don't care how uncomfortable it is.
Puya
Oh, yeah.
Ad Voice
All right.
Taryn
Absolutely. That's what we have for you then. Tonight, today, check out the interview we did with Rome. I thought it a fun little interview and that should be dropping after this podcast. And I will be live tonight on my Patreon watching, watching Unlocked, where we will learn about these powers and some fun stuff ahead on Unlocked, I would expect. And. And I'll also be doing some live feed streams over on Patreon as well, so check those out. And that's about it. I'll be back tomorrow morning, 11am Eastern to update and everything that happens today on the big brother 28 live feeds. There also will be a recap for Unlocked tonight, so check that out as well. Puya, what do you got going on?
Puya
I'll be live tonight at 10pm Eastern on the usual spot for the pad over on Twitch. Twitch tv. Puya in Big Brother season, honestly, it ends up becoming a lot of us watching feeds while answering questions. So come through if you're looking for people to hang out with. We have a good time. Liana and I were supposed to record the pal last week. We have not done that. She did come into my room yesterday, Taryn, while I was doing the bingo cards on stream and she said because she had just listened to the update yesterday from last week and she was like, you'd be the level or like a measuring tape. I was like, okay, cool. She was like. My first thought was like, you know the tool they put down, like for the knee pads, I was like, okay, go. Leave the room. Why did you give me that? So, Leon, I'm not looking forward to whatever she's gonna say on the PAL now, but at least now you know how she sees me. So check out that podcast when it drops, and then, otherwise, I believe y' all will hear from me very soon. Talking Big Brother on recap.
Taryn
Listen, to be fair, those knee pads that you have to use when you work on stuff, one of my favorite things when I. When I got those, it was a game changer. My knees were nice and protected. It was nice.
Puya
I need to. I need to get to the bottom of why she picked that. Because I will ask her. I'm like, is it because you feel protected with me? Is that what it is? Because I don't know what she's gonna say, Tim, but we'll find out. Maybe I don't want to find out. Maybe I don't want y' all to all know what she's gonna say about me. But tune in to find out. We'll see.
Taryn
All right, thank you all so much for joining us here today, and I will see all of you next time.
Hosts: Taran Armstrong & Puya
Coverage: Everything that happened on Day 17 of Big Brother 28 Live Feeds (post-eviction, new HOH, strategic fallout, alliance machinations, and early week nominations talk)
This update covers the aftermath of the week 2 eviction, the new Head of Household (HOH) crowning, the house's rapidly evolving strategic dynamics, early plans for nominations, and the continuing power struggle between alliances. Taran and Puya break down the key player moves and highlight which dynamics are steady, who’s plotting behind the scenes, and the growing tension as the house moves toward a likely "cruise control" week with potential for chaos looming on the horizon.
Evicted: Rome joins Ashley and Rachel in the jury—a quiet, nearly unanimous eviction.
Voting Intrigue: Taylor casts a 'rogue' vote for Rome to stay—sparking some, but ultimately not much, suspicion or paranoia. Lyric denies she was the rogue vote, with most believing her.
Notable quote:
“The thing I can be happy about is that it wasn’t a full unanimous [vote] just so that there could be some intrigue with people doing a hinky vote hunt.” – Puya (04:06)
House Reaction: No deep hinky vote hunt. Most houseguests decide to "leave it for now," waiting to see who wins the next HOH before pursuing the paranoia.
Competition: Booth-style quiz hosted by Jesse Godders ("Wrestlegasm").
Outcome: Kamu wins HOH over close contenders Mallory and Lyric.
Analysis: Kamu described as the “steadiest hand” in the house, unlikely to make game-shaking moves; he prefers not to rock the boat.
Notable quote:
“Kamu is the last person I would expect to make a silly mistake. The last person I would expect to do anything that rocks the boat.” – Taran (11:12)
Initial Nomination Thoughts: Kamu considers Mallory, Jason, and Lala as nominees.
Strategic Logic: He doesn’t want to target his closer allies (including Melody), leaving him few choices.
“I’m not mad at a fair warning…what you don’t want is to have that be normalized for someone. If they even fear it a little, they might just not touch the stove again.” – Puya (20:00)
Paranoia Over Taylor: Angela fixates on Taylor as a threat, despite previously focusing on Drew. She claims Taylor “has winner written all over her.”
Dynamics: The more Angela works with someone, the more she begins to mistrust and want them gone—a recurring trait from previous seasons.
Dee’s Target: Dee remains intent on backdooring Drew ("too far gone" for reconciliation), indicating cracks beneath the Toolshed’s surface.
Memorable moment:
“The closer you are to Angela, the more she suspects you of wrongdoing.” – Taran (31:00)
Lyric’s Ploys: She attempts to deflect attention from her alliance with Mallory and Melody by exaggerating rifts and distancing herself.
Kamu’s Tactic: Tells Lyric “no intention of nominating her,” but later plans to use her as a pawn if needed. This is double-edged for Lyric’s game.
Insightful quote:
“If Lyric is going to end up in the Princess Peach spot, where we’re constantly going to come to the next castle and find you…'Let’s just keep putting her on the block and use the veto on her?' ...It diminishes Lyric’s agency.” – Puya (50:12)
Strategic Push: Drew successfully convinces Kamu to backdoor Jason, rather than nominate him outright; Lyric becomes an initial nominee instead.
Kamu’s Social Game: Kamu attributes the plan shift openly to Drew, potentially painting Drew as the season’s mastermind to others (useful but risky).
Alliance Hierarchy: Drew sees Kamu as a means to his own end game (using “Handyman” Final 2 as cover). In reality, Drew is better insulated with other connections and wants Chuck and Haley gone, replacing them in his plans with Melody and Yash.
Great strategic breakdown:
“Kamu is not easily swayed. And so the more other people try to sway him, and he says, ‘Drew is the one that convinced me of this,’ the more they might clock…Drew and Kamu are way too close.” – Taran (47:36)
“She hatched finally from the egg...Then went back to her laying spot, but without the egg…this is my spot for a while.” – Taran (74:33)
