single season, you know he is the reason. You know what's happening, happening. Rob said that he could do it tomorrow. He will do it again. Hello everyone and good morning. Welcome to our live feed update for August 3rd. I'm your host, Darren Armstrong and I'm here today to update you on everything that happened yesterday on the big brother 28 live feeds. It was day 27 in the house and we have some Renam drama, some crush drama still and a lot of throwing people under the bus, especially last night. We'll talk about it. And with me to talk about it is Lavina. How you doing, Lavina?
Lavina
Hi, guys. I'M doing great. I was just telling Taryn before we went live, I haven't done this for, like, six. I haven't done a live feed update in specific in, like, six years. So this is crazy. I'm so happy to be back. And yeah, I think the whole time I was watching yesterday, well, the full season, really, but specifically yesterday. A bit frustrating, my notes is a lot of all caps yelling, we'll get into it.
Darren Armstrong
We will, in fact, get into it. Of course, Haley is our hoh. She has nominated Drew, Melody, and Taylor for eviction. However, Taylor won the power of veto, and that means that Haley will need to nominate somebody to replace her. Drew is the intended target here, but the replacement nominee kind of matters because despite the fact that Drew's the target and Melody should theoretically be the backup target, there hasn't actually been a lot of conversation about who would really be evicted if Drew was safe. Melody in particular has been talked about as kind of a non issue, a non threat. And the main contenders for the Renam are Mallory and Lyric, both of whom are theoretically more threatening than somebody like Melody. So the Renam, as I said, matters now. The conversation the night before had been all about who it should be. Melody, Mallory, or Lyric. And Camus has really been trying to push for Lyric to be safe, for Lyric to be included in their alliance. And this has kind of pushed Haley even more in the direction of wanting Lyric on the block. So that's kind of where we start the day. There's another sort of plot that's running as well, which is that. And it's really came from Chuck in the first place, that Chuck is a little suspicious of Yash, that Chuck caught Yash trying to help Mallory and. And. And other people in the HOH competition. And also, I believe, is the one who relayed to Angela that Yash said that, that he'd be fine with Angela leaving. And so Chuck and Angela really trying to get on Yash's neck now. But Chuck talks to Haley about some of the Yash stuff as Haley complains to Chuck about Kamu trying to keep Lyric. And so this, you know, these topics already present here early in the morning.
Lavina
Yeah, this was immediately, like I said, very frustrating for me. And later on, I'm jumping way ahead, but I'm stealing this line because it did put things into perspective for me to. To soothe me back down in a way. Mallory, I forgot who she was talking to, made it a point later in the day to say that she feels like their side of the house hasn't really had the opportunity to even build a solid alliance because they've constantly been in danger to the point that they don't know who's going to be here next week to start creating something. Now, is that an excuse to not create something solid? Absolutely not. But I think that, given that point, I was like, you know what? I'm on the outside. Let me stop getting frustrated and typing into my notes and all caps like, I guess I understand where she's coming from in that sense. But ultimately, watching the feeds yesterday felt a whole lot like America's next top tool shed, bottom of the tool shed member. Like, that's what it felt like. But at the end of the day, what else are they supposed to do? Everyone's playing. They're in a. The other side of the house is in complete power and has been since the start of the season.
Darren Armstrong
Yeah.
Lavina
And that's.
Darren Armstrong
That's what Mallory. Later in the day, she's just like, what are we supposed to. Like, we haven't. We can't even play the game. We haven't won a single thing. So Barrett does fill Mallory in on the events of the night before, which were that there was this big meeting that took place where Haley was like, raise your hand if you've been promised safety by Lyric. He lets her know that the. The choices were her or Lyric, but he thinks it's going to be Lyric. And he advocated for Lyric to go up to her, obviously, and that Haley intends to try to make a deal with her for. For safety. He says that Haley was sketched out by how many people Lyric was promising safety to, and that Kamu has been pushing for Lyric to be brought into the alliance because apparently Lyric has been fully trying to jump ship. So, like, pretty much all of lyrics, Dirty laundry, fully being exposed in that conversation to Barrett and Barrett, then relaying that information to Mallory. Barrett, I think, finally starting to learn how to operate in this position the way that, like, Drew should have been the whole time, the way that Barrett, quite frankly, should have been the whole time, which is use the information you have to help the person that you want to keep safe on the outside of the power structure to help them understand how they need to move in order to not fall under the radar of the people you're aligned with and then make you sketchy by being associated with people that they find sketchy and for trying to advocate for people that they find sketchy. So giving her some great information. He also even lets her know that Drew apparently is the target, which is, you know, maybe not the most necessary information to give out here, but it's, it's kind of out there. At this point, almost everyone knows that Drew is the target, except for Drew, including, by the way, like, Melody. So Melody does join this conversation. She gets most of this download as well. And she's like, what? If I'm being honest, I've been worried about Lyric. I've, I've. I've been watching her and in her mind, Lyric going up and going home wouldn't be the worst outcome. Certainly better than Mallory going up and better than herself or Drew going home. Lyric being the sacrifice is a little more palatable to Melody.
Lavina
Yeah. And what was half surprising, not that surprising, I guess I just hadn't. I hadn't heard Melody say this directly yet, where she was like, I actually don't like Lyric. And I haven't liked Lyric since day one. I actually find her to be. Well, this was more of a Drew comment. Later in the day, he called her one dimensional, which was super interesting. And I wasn't sure how I felt about that. But either way, Melody. Andrew, for that matter, we're just kind of on a. We hate, we hate Lyric, like kind of a thing all day. Which again, surprised me a little bit.
Darren Armstrong
It's. It's a very Melody thing to do to just like flop back and forth between, like. Because in, in week one, she was fully team Lyric and was like, I'm distancing myself from Mallory. That has of course flipped at this point. I. I've gotta say that these three, the giggle girls, they're really, they're really bringing me to like White Lotus season three, like the, the tr. In that season, who are just constantly, just like talking about. And I say them. I'll exclude Mallory. She's like, she's not really participating in that. But. But Lyric. And Lyric is constantly throwing them under the bus. Melody is constantly just trash talking. It's pretty. It's pretty funny stuff. But. But then they all always come together and they're like giggle girls. The three of us.
Lavina
Reminds me of my friend group in middle school. Notice I say middle school.
Darren Armstrong
There you go. Mallory does not tell Lyric any of this information. She has a conversation with her afterward, and she withholds the fact that Lyric is likely the renom. And while they have this conversation, Lyric is asking Mallory questions. And Mallory is dodging many of those questions. When asked who she would put on the block, Mallory says that she would probably put up somebody like Lala as a pawn of some sort. And, and that is kind of important. To note because Mallory later talks to Barrett and says, you can't tell Lyric anything because she'll use it to throw us under the bus to try to keep herself from being the Rena.
Feeding America Ad
The.
Darren Armstrong
And she advises Barrett to do the same. Like don't, don't tell Lyric any information because she'll use it. Which is very perceptive and of course very spot on from Mallory as we'll talk about later in the night. This is pretty much exactly what happens. So I, I was very impressed, I was very impressed with how Mallory was moving yesterday. She had the right information, she used it properly and she didn't even make some, some classic mistakes like telling your ally who you think you can trust, who you're the person that might go on the block against you or instead of you damning information. And I liked it. I thought this was good.
Lavina
Yeah, I had been seeing a lot. I felt like I wasn't on the Mallory train personally the way that a lot of people were. And I was like, what are people seeing? And I think like this week in particular, especially yesterday, like you're saying, really got me on the Mallory, Mallory train. My. Because I feel like she's, I really like a fully self interested player, you know. And again, I brought up her point earlier where she said we haven't really been able to completely form a side because of, you know, where we've just been in constant danger and fighting for our lives. But I think that she is only thinking of herself and it's. I slowed down talking when I said that because it's crazy how rare that can be these days where everyone's like, well I've got my trio when I've got my tool shed or whatever and you know, they're talking about that kind of stuff all the time and you're just like, okay, well, who's playing for themselves? Very self interested player. At first I started to be like, oh my God, faute, Faute. When she wasn't telling her that she's in danger, I'm like, just do something together. But that was me just jumping the gun and I'm like, you know what? I think Mallory is a good player and I hope she stays around for a while. And also to the point on Barrett, I'm cautiously optimistic. And when I say cautiously, the reason for that is because he could very well be the next Drew that, that the tool shed is going to go after. Like they, they're clamoring to Angela mostly would be clamoring to replace her Drew. So I don't Want him to become the next person. That's it.
Darren Armstrong
Yes. Lucky for him. Yash seems to be in the sight at the moment, but we'll see. Mallory also talks to Melody again. I thought this was a funny conversation. She's talking about what she should say to Haley. She's like, haley wants to make a deal with me, but. And, like, I'll make a deal with Haley, but. But Barrett was saying that. That one of the reasons they were so sketched by Lyric was because she was making too many deals with people for safety.
Lavina
Because.
Darren Armstrong
So I don't want to seem like I'm making too many deals for safety. And Mel is like, well, you. If you. It's just Haley, it's probably fine, right? She's like, yeah. But I did also promise Devin's and D safety if they voted to keep. But they didn't vote to keep me because I didn't have to. But then I did also promise, like, kamu saved you that one time. And I had to promise this person safety. I keep having to promise people safety because I keep being on the block. And so Melody's like, okay, well, what if you just said, like, I don't want to promise safety because I don't want to promise too many people. That's probably a terrible idea. Don't listen to me. I told her I didn't like her
Lavina
to her face, and she's so real for that. Honestly, the whole segment. The whole segment. I know we're talking about life. It's been. The episode last night, that whole segment, I was like, that's reality television, baby. Like, I'm obsessed with that. And you know what? It might not get her to stay for very long. That's fine. I'll take Mallory in terms of strategy, and I'll take malady in terms of entertainment. I'm fine with that.
Darren Armstrong
Yes.

Barrett and Mallory conversation where Mallory was saying that she wasn't telling Lyric information anything incriminating at the very least. They also discussed that they would rather Drew leave than Lyric. If Lyric went up on the block that that they like, of the three, the priority would be probably Drew would leave first, then Lyric, and they would try to keep Melody. That is kind of the priority list at this time. She also wants to talk about, and she mentioned this with Melody as well, that despite being seen as a like a competition threat, like, oh, it's the pipe Queen because she's won a couple of things. In every competition she's been in with Lyric, Lyric has outperformed her. She's only won competitions that Lyric has not competed in. And so she kind of wants to make that point, even though it's kind of like she doesn't end up really making that point. But I thought it was an interesting point to bring up and one that still might come into conversation at some point. D in the meantime, is going to talk to Kamu as we go back to the Kamu and Haley drama. And, and she's really like, prodding Kamu here as as Kamu talks about how mad Haley was the night before about the Lyric situation. And she's like, yeah, I think. I mean, she maybe has like some real feelings for you. You might need to, like, address that with her at some point. And. And he's like, well, I mean, I I, I, I think she's great. And some funny stuff happening here. And funny, but also relevance because again, this is something that D had talked with Angela about that they should try to use this to continue to sort of like so discord amongst these three so that they're not super tight, which obviously benefits the vets.
Lavina
Yes. Something I don't know if you or people in the chat had seen. I don't know how people found this. I'm not recommending doing stuff like this, but apparently somebody found Haley's ex boyfriend and I, they posted a picture of him and he's almost identical to Kamu. So it truly all makes sense when you put that put two and two together. However, this scene with D and Kamu, honestly, I know a lot of people don't want to hear it like steamroll, blah, blah, blah, but Dee is always putting on a masterclass for me. I'm just so constantly impressed by her because watching this, I was like, she's right. 1. If you're in the outside world, she's completely correct because she said get to the root. That's what she kept saying. Camou, get to the root. What is the root? Is it the fact? Is it the alliance stuff? Or is it, you know, the fact that you were telling her what to do? X, Y, Z. Or is it the crush stuff? She's doing that that's getting to the root. And I, and I, she's correct on that. But she the wedging putting a causing a wedge between them. Like, kind of like that's what she's been doing all season successfully. Guys, like, I know a lot of people might not want to hear it because of the steamroll implications, but our girls just always putting on a masterclass and it's so entertaining. And yeah, let me not give away all my thoughts in one in one sitting.
Darren Armstrong
Well, speaking of, of course this is not something from the feeds yesterday, but if you did not watch the episode, we did finally get confirmation on where the power is, which is very funny because my entire timeline was filled with half people saying, wow, we owe Taryn an apology for dunking on him for thinking D has the power. And then half the timeline is fu. Taran, you owe Drew an apology for crashing out on him before he there was.
Lavina
You can't do anything right. And I'm sorry for tweeting from the account that they played in your face. Sorry,
Darren Armstrong
I didn't even see that one.
Lavina
It was funny. It was good. You'll like it. You'll like it.
Darren Armstrong
Basically, it was in Fact, a bit of a coincidence that, that Drew was talking all that stuff. His, his plan, his stupid plan that won't look like it's the thing until it is. The thing I assume was just him saying that he's gonna lie to them and then throw and then put them on the block. And, and that D when she thanked America was in fact thanking America. And so the, the real, the real mystery angle of this, the real thing that kind of like I think made it harder to detect was that the power was not what, at very least what I thought it was. And I think collectively what we thought it was, we didn't really think there was much incentive for D to lie to Devin's about having the power. However, knowing that it lasts. So this is the power. If you didn't watch last night, it's the bribe power and it lasts all season. So unlike because I just, I think I, and potentially we just assumed that the powers would all have a similar end time and so there wasn't again a lot of that she would need to hide anything from Devins because there was no intention I think on her end to betray Devins in the next four weeks. However, these power lasts the entire season. And, and don't worry, we are working on a little icon for, for these powers. We'll put it in here. But it lasts the entire season. She has $5,000 she can bribe somebody with to get them to do an act in the game. It is unclear to me or I think anyone at this point still if it's, if the jury vote is on the table, if she can bribe a jury vote, otherwise it's kind of a useless power. It seems useless at least in comparison to something like the diamond power of veto which is just immensely more powerful. This five thousand dollar bribe, it's not really, it's not likely going to do much that D couldn't have done without it, I guess is the main way to say it. So on one hand, yes, all three vets got all three votes in the first three votes that could happen, which is what we expected from the b the beginning. And one of them got an immensely powerful power. Another one got another power. At least that, that second power was not super, super big. What's interesting though potentially I believe is that I, because I was trying to pay attention, I'm pretty sure that when you go into that room and actually I, I, I'm just thinking about this now so it would be worth checking the footage. I feel like in my memory the, the powers that were already taken and the punishments that were already taken were either like grayed out or just not there anymore because you can't re pick power five, right? So, so theoretically the person to go into the room next should be able to see. I mean, I guess it's pretty obvious actually now that I'm talking about it, that like obviously two powers have been taken and one punishment was taken. But, but like. So I'm kind of, I'm kind of ruining my own point here. I don't think it actually matters much. But, but my. What I was gonna say was that like you go and you can see that the power, a power has been claimed. But, but I do think, I think it's interesting. I think the fact that D is hiding this from Devin's is interesting, especially because it's not really very valuable. Another angle of this, of course, is that you can bribe somebody secretly, which is maybe another reason why she thinks that she can do this and hide it from. From Devins. I think that Devins is very, very loyal to D all the way down to potentially the end of the game. And if I'm D, I don't want to give him any reason to believe that he shouldn't be. So quite frankly, I probably am never using this power or if I can use it for a jury vote, I'm giving it to somebody on their way door so that I have a secret jury vote locked in. I don't think I can risk Devin's knowing that I lied to him about this power after he told me about the diamond power of veto. I think that's, that's real dangerous.
Lavina
If you really don't want to use it for something that's like game implicating like huge you, I wonder and I'm sure you can use it as like a hug. Jesse Goddard for what is it a minute straight kind of a vibe. Like if you can, can you like do that vibe and just make like a TV segment like I'm sure you can.
Darren Armstrong
It did say gameplay related, but I think you can do something. The thing I talked about last night was like go up to somebody and be like, hey, I got this power. It's $5,000. I want to give it to you. I think you deserve it for X, Y and Z reasons. The only thing, it's a bribe power. So like I'm supposed to approach you with like, you need to do this and then I'll give you $5,000, but I just want to give it to you. So why don't we just like figure out what it is that you need to. To officially do. And then I'll give you this $5,000. And then, you know, it's like, oh, well, what. What kind of things do I need to do? Oh, something like nominate a person. Who are you planning to nominate? Like, maybe we can talk through who should you nominate? And we'll agree on. On who. And theoretically, this gives you a little bit of extra influence over who is chosen as that nominee and potentially gives them less incentive to nominate you. So, like, something like that could work. I think that if you go to somebody and you say, hey, I want you to nominate comment, it's 5k in it for you. You want to do that? Like, that's. That's. You know, that's not gonna work as well, I think, personally be really good, though.
Lavina
Yeah, I'd want to see that. And you know what? Just to comment on the Drew of it all, I think it doesn't help when he really. I guess this is what I'm learning now, because yesterday on the feeds, he was talking to Devin's. He was talking to a couple of other people, and he was using the. The phrase flip of a coin multiple times. Like, I think it's just something he likes to say. So I think people took that initially and ran with it, and they're like, oh, well, that's proof. He was in the doctor for two hours or whatever it was, and now he's saying flip of a coin. But the truth of the matter is, he's still saying it, and I think it's just something he likes to say or because he's talking to Devin's.
Darren Armstrong
I think at the end of the day, like, I do think it's telling about. For. For as many jokes as we can have about Angela and all of that. I think it's telling about Drew's game and the way that we are seeing Drew, that it was believable that he might have had a coin and not used it because of what he's been doing. And I say we. Like, even his friend on the podcast that he'd went. His friend did a podcast with Sharon where he was like, I swear to God, if Drew comes home with a coin in his pocket, he is disowned. Like. Like the fact that it was possible. I. I was incredulous. I said, I literally. Literally could not believe it. But I said that because there was. I. I was like, unfortunately, I can believe it because. Because the way that he is. Is moving around this house, the way he's throwing this hoh competition when everyone in the house is targeting him is like, oh, Drew. But. But no, he did not make that ridiculous of. Of a mistake, though. He is still moving around the house thinking that he is, in fact, good when he is not. And that is not particularly going to change. So back to the day. Haley and Angela talk a little bit. They kind of talk around a final two proposal. You know, Angela's saying that she trusts Haley a lot, and Haley saying that she really trusts Angela. In fact, she trusts Angela the most. She says that she really wants to work with women. She wants to go to the end with women. And. And, you know, I see light. I see light in people. And Angela, I see your light. I see your light the most. I see a little bit of lighting in Chuck, but I don't. I don't see light when I. When I look at Kamu. I don't see light when I look at Devin's. I don't see light when I look at D. I definitely don't see light when I look. Barrett.
Lavina
Oh, my God.
Darren Armstrong
But I see light when I look at you, Angela. I see it.
Lavina
Yeah. You know how they say people hold up a mirror to you sometimes? Like, if you're in a relationship with the person or just any type of relationship with a person, they hold up a mirror. When she says that about Kamu, I'm like, I think you're seeing yourself. Oh, there she is behind the mirror. New York Times.
Darren Armstrong
I was like, do I have a mirror? And then I saw my book behind the mirror. I was like, oh, this is close enough.
Lavina
That works. Hey. You're like, I forgot. I forgot what my book was called for a second. But no. Yeah. So I forgot my point. Yeah. Just that she sees herself in them. My joke. My joke didn't land.
Darren Armstrong
Oh. It's when. When she looks at Angela, and Angela has said, and. And this was pointed out to me, I think, by. By Mike, because I think he's the one that first said he saw. He saw Haley as a young Angela. But that Angela has mentioned that, and it's like. And now, like Haley's. I see see light. He joins them. And Angela talks more about backdooring Yash in a. In a world without Drew. Yash is her new Drew.
Feeding America Ad
And.
Darren Armstrong
And D, though, is like, I'm. I am still concerned about Mallory. Like, that is somebody we still need to be looking out for. So Devin's talks to Angela and. And they have a weird little moment. Devin's and Angela, I would say their relationship has started to deteriorate a Little bit. Devins has talked about Angela to D and to Barrett, and Angela is still mostly, I think, fine with Devin's, but, like, they just don't talk as much as they did before. Devin's obviously not telling Angela about the diamond power veto. Angela feeling like Devin's has it but that he's keeping it to himself for. For good reasons to protect her and D. But I don't know how long that thought process will last if Devin's like, doesn't keep doing enough maintenance because it could easily go from he's not telling us to protect us, to wait. He's not talking to us. I still think he has a power and he still hasn't told us. And oh, I'm not really. I'm. I'm not really feeling good about Devin's. It's very possible that that could happen. But in this conversation, they mostly just talk about Drew and how he might out the crossovers. They really hope he doesn't. That, like, once he's voted out, he could say anything he wants, but he shouldn't. You shouldn't say anything. You know, Devin's comes from Survivor where you barely get a chance to say anything. You know, you don't really out things on Survivor. You get blindsided. You might. You might be like, ah, that was mean. And then leave. But on Big Brother, you got a little more time to. To out things. He really hopes that doesn't happen. And she kind of presses him on, like, what were the deals that you had? And he's like, oh, there's a dapper dance. She's like, oh, yeah. I have like, a thing with Drew and Barrett and it was. It's just like, you know, it was a fine conversation. And I was also like, like, chill. People can say what they want when
Lavina
they get evicted, and I hope they do. Yeah. I think the dynamic between the three icons is very interesting because a lot of people are getting and rightfully so frustrated when they see clips of Angela and D that are, this is just too easy. It's just way too easy. And of course, that's infuriating as fans on this side of things. But I think we. What we have to take into what we have to have perspective on is that they have not been in danger this entire season. Like, we know this, but we have yet to see what they do under pressure. And maybe I'm coping. Maybe this is my cope. And I'm like, it's going to get better. It's going to go crazy. But, like, I do think that Angela if she's already been chaotic and paranoid, we know Angela, Angela, she's got mask on. I've been saying this all season but you know, it comes off every now and then. If she's under pressure, it is going to come off in totality. And I think that her and Devin's is the, the dynamic to look out for. I think she feels obviously much closer to Dee and I think that her and Devin's could, he could easily because he's getting annoyed with her. Point blank period. He's getting annoyed with her. So I think it's going to be interesting to see if they don't win hoh next. Next season, next week.
Darren Armstrong
Next season is apt though. Like the way I know I'm looking at the game right now, it's. It's kind of like the vets are like gods overseeing the like chessboard of the game that is a proxy. Like, like there's. They're so far removed because of the powers, they literally have superpowers. So like there isn't really a game happening with the vets all that much. The only real thing is that Angela is kind of like falling from heaven and so it's like she's like maybe not quite in that same realm. She doesn't have a power. She's not aware of the powers she. Devin's is starting to not really feel it with her and they're hiding things like the wolf pack and, and so you know, there's a little bit of that there but like, but they're so far it's not even worth talking about them potentially being in trouble. Nobody's even looking at them or coming after them at this point. It's really just like will their red corner thing get attacked? But it's like the game is red corner versus the like giggle girls basically. And, and that's what's happening. And then like in, in four weeks from now maybe the vets will actually get in the game, get more involved. But like right now they're so far removed from any potential danger it's not even worth really talking. There's nothing even to talk about. So Mallory though does have a conversation with Angela. Mallory continues to have a good relationship with Angela. It's worth continuing to point that out. They do have these heart to hearts every once in saying things like, oh Angela, I'd feel so lost in this game without you. Angela saying things like I'll always be here for you, so on and so forth. Keep that in mind. Yash, remember, has made a final two with Lyric Secret under the radar Final two. And when talking to Haley, finding out that Lyric is the replacement nominee, he's gonna try to push for Mallory to be the replacement nominee instead of. As did Chuck and as did Kamu. And Haley is like, no, no, there's a. Mallory is not going to be the replacement nominee. Sorry, Sorry. Yash so. Doesn't really go anywhere, but Yash now knows that Lyric is the replacement nominee, so. So that's. That's important to. To note down.
Lavina
Yep. And, Yash, people say what you want. For the. For the longest time, we were like, what's this guy been doing? Does he even know where he is? At least he's playing now. I'm not saying. It's not saying a whole lot, but he's playing now. And I've even seen people say that he could potentially make a final two or three situation. They could see him there. And you know what? I could see it too.
Darren Armstrong
Yes. Well, Drew has a conversation with Devins. And. And. And literally last night, I was like, I do think. Because we're not there yet, but I do think the intrigue of the week will likely be what happens if Drew wins the blockbuster Melody versus probably Lyric, but we'll see. And how. You know, Drew being an advocate for Melody may be a good thing, maybe a bad thing. We don't even know. But will he even be an advocate for Melody? He's already telling Devins, if I've gotta lose Melody this week, I don't want to, but might have to happen. But I do. Listen, what I'm concerned about is I want to make sure I get the approval from you guys to go after Chuck and Haley next week. I really want. Oh, really want to do that. Really? Oh, revving up for it. You're gonna let me. You're gonna let me do that? Dad, can we do that, please? And so that's kind of where Drew's head is at.
Lavina
Yeah, I'm actually looking. I'm actually looking at my notes right now. I don't know. I said, I guess I did this twice yesterday when I tweeted that they are playing in your face. I said, he had no idea they were about to play in his face. Because, I mean, truly, when I'm looking at this conversation, something that I find the most interesting on live feeds when I'm watching them is body language and face. Like, I'm a person who wears every emotion on my face. So I just kind of, like, project that onto others. I'm like, oh, what's their facing? And I felt a little bit in that conversation specifically, that maybe Drew felt sort of like, are they lying to me? Am I. Am I the target? And am I getting played? So there was a little bit of that, but probably not enough. Like, I'm just coping now. I've been coping all podcasts.
Darren Armstrong
Yeah. Well, Haley does finally get to her conversation. I say finally because, man, it's fixed. I really hate when they give him the phone. It's so.
Lavina
Oh, my God.
Darren Armstrong
Oh, my God.
Lavina
Awful.
Darren Armstrong
Haley finally talks to Mallory and gives her the. The offers her the deal. I'm not gonna put you up if you promise that you will keep me safe. You are hoh. You will not nominate me. And Mallory says, yes, I will. I can agree to that deal. It's a longer conversation than just that, though, because Haley, for what it's worth, you know, and. And I. I want to make sure I point this out, because there are weirdly many HOHs that don't do this. But Haley is good as the HOH at getting. asking questions and getting information, which not enough HOHs do. She's not just content with, like, making a deal with Mallory for not putting her on the block. She's also going to ask Mallory all kinds of questions. Who would you put on the block? Who are you looking to target? Who are you close to? What are you thinking about? Who do you think should go home? All kinds of questions. And Mallory, I thought, did a great job of deflecting as much as possible, carefully not dropping names, and making the classic mistake I always have to talk about people making. She is very careful to be like, I know. I'm not really sure who I'd put up right now, or, hey, you know, like, who should we vote out? Like, I don't know. Like, I'd have to consult whoever to talk about this. She does say, knowing that Drew is the target, that she does find it a little hard to trust Drew because he's close to so many people, which obviously also has the double meaning of Lyric. Also close to a lot of people. Something to think about. I really thought Mallory did a great job here, and I, quite frankly, I thought Haley has done a good job of making sure she uses this position to get as much information as she can, ask people questions, and get deals out of not nominating people. So it's all basic stuff, really, from the both of them. But, like, when I don't see it a lot or I haven't at least recently, it's just a little nice to see. Of course, there's Plenty of other mistakes Haley's making, but. But, yeah, I especially like the conversation on Mallory's end.
Lavina
Yeah, I think Haley comes off very intimidating, obviously, for obvious reasons, and sometimes people are afraid to talk to her. Like, you know, I think Mallory handled. Just as you said, Mallory handled it in the right way. The only times that I was like, oh, like, oh, my God, is she gonna start stammering? Was when she was. When Haley was like, well, who would you put up? And then she starts doing, like, trying to go around the question. And then Haley's like, no, I asked you. Answer me first. And I was like, oh, my God. Like, she's gonna. Like, she's gonna fumble this. But, no, I think she. You're right. I think she definitely handled it the best way that she could. And, you know, she came into it getting a deal, so. And, you know, Haley already had that mentality. Haley already had the mentality of not wanting to put Mallory up before she walked into the room. So I think she doubled down on it and made it seem as though, like, hey, maybe. Maybe we can work with her.

Your support puts healthy food within reach, fueling the future for kids and their families. Give now@feedingamerica.org summerhunger so Mallory talks to Barrett again after this conversation and they, they actually start to see. They seem like they're starting to sort of warm to the idea of like they're a little bit less sure about between Drew and Lyric, which one they would prefer to leave. Not that it has not they have a choice in the matter but, but either way, Mallory continues to be like more and more open to the idea of Lyric leaving despite the conversations that she continues to have with Lyric. And, and she also talks to Lyric and she does let her know that she had she made a deal with Haley, but still does not tell Lyric that she is the potential other replacement nominee. And so a little bit of information, maybe still a little too much information, but, but still trying to keep as much information away from Lyric as possible. Lyric still at this point does not know that she is the replacement nominee. She knows that she's an option but, but in her mind, she made a deal with Haley during the HOH competition. She has Kamu vouching for her. Kamu hasn't warned her of anything at this point. So I think she still feels like she's in a decent place. And in the meantime, Haley is still kind of feeling like I'm not sure when to tell Lyric. Probably not tonight. They will have a conversation soon. Haley. Oh, I guess I'll just tell you that Haley does talk to Lyric, does not tell her that she'll be the replacement nominee. What she says is that she's looking for somebody who's potentially like going to be able to win the blockbuster but would be completely, totally safe, which obviously implies pretty strongly that Lyric might go up. And it does set off some alarm bells for Lyric, but. But she still doesn't have any confirmation at this point. Before that conversation, Haley also talked to Kamu where he finally kind of like apologized for the night before. He's not like he wasn't trying to. He. It's so funny too because it's very reminiscent of when Kamu was HOH and Drew was trying to protect Mallory and Drew was like, hey, I was just being devil's advocate. Kamu, like the same thing like, hey, I saw I was just a devil's advocate. I was just trying to, like, make the points. And he literally said, I'm not. I'm not gonna die on that hill. I'm not gonna die on the Lyric hill. Don't worry about me. And so he. They have that conversation. Chuck joins it, and Haley talks more about how Melody is just not a threat at all. None of the women even like her. So, you know, nobody. Nobody's gonna work with Melody. Which, again, just. Not only that, but Haley, throughout the day, is also talking about how Drew is not really a threat to her. She actually kind of likes Drew. She feels like Drew's not against her. I don't think this means anything, for the record, because Haley has no say or influence. It's. The vets are just going to decide who's the target. But. But there's, like, heavy indication here, like, Haley has no or little interest in actually targeting Drew. And if this were, like, a regular season where the vets weren't influencing everything, this might have mattered, that she's actually kind of feeling like Drew's not her target, it's somebody else's target. But it's worth just pointing out, yeah,
Lavina
if she had it her way, Lyric would be out the door. And we'll get to that conversation. But that. That's strictly personal from my perspective. Whatever the dancing around the topic could be from her, like, that's strictly personal. But. Yeah, no, no, go ahead.
Darren Armstrong
I just love. Another thing Haley keeps saying is, yeah, if I were to throw lala up on the block as the replacement nominee, that would be strictly personal. And I'm not here to play personal. And it's just like,
Lavina
everything she says is about other people is. Everything she says about other people is about herself.
Darren Armstrong
I don't think that this is, like, the. The brag that you think it is to be like, I'm not putting Lala up because I'm not playing personal. It's like, all you're doing is saying that you personally really don't like lala on a personal level. And it's just like.
Lavina
Right.
Darren Armstrong
You could easily say it in a different way that wasn't like, that. You could just be like, yeah, I don't want to put lala up. I've had a good conversation with her, and we've. We've. You know, we've cleared everything up. And so I don't want to put Lala up. This is so easy to do instead.
Lavina
Nah.
Darren Armstrong
I mean, I could put Lala up, but that would be personal.
Lavina
Well, that's the hoh. It is jumping out. Right. But it's also just her personality. I'm so honest. Like, if I was around her, it would be very difficult for me to be able to interact with her. That's just how she, I feel like she's just so, like, brash and is like, doesn't think before she speaks. And I have so much more to say about this particular thing when we get to the common conversation, whatever we got from it.
Darren Armstrong
All right.
Lavina
Because we didn't get a whole lot.
Darren Armstrong
So Yash talks to Lyric after her conversation with Haley and he lets her know with. Under no uncertain terms, she is the Renam. And she's pissed. She's. Are you serious? Like, she promised me safety. And he tries to say, like, I mean, I think you're, I think you'll be okay. You can beat both Melody and, and Drew, and you stay against both of them on the block and lyrics. Like, she told me, she told us during the compet petition that we were safe. And Yash kind of encourages her. Like, channel that. Go up to her and let her know that it's not okay. Raise a bit of a fuss, say you don't appreciate that she's going against her word and that you're not going to just like, take this lying down.
Lavina
Yeah, maybe.
Darren Armstrong
You know, there's a, there's a world, there's a, there's a version of that that works in certain games under certain circumstances with certain HOHs. I'm not sure Haley is the HOH where that works the best, but, you know, but we'll see. You know that that is Yash's advice. I don't think that she's gonna take that advice personally. She actually has a different plan, which we'll get to, I guess, right now, which is that she goes to Kamu and she says to Kamu, like, hey, I'm really worried that I'm the replacement nominee here. And he says, oh, did you talk to Haley? And she said, yeah, she didn't tell me. But she did tell me that she wants to put up a competitor that will beat the other two and that she's not looking to put up potentially. Mallory. He's like, yeah, I mean, I tried to advocate you. Advocate for you. I, I, I. But I can only do so much. And she's like, okay, so, yeah, thanks. What the hell? He says, and don't, like, you'll be safe even if you go up on the block and, and she's later gonna complain like that he didn't tell her this. Like, she thought she was making this progress that he was advocating for her, which he has been. But he then didn't tell her the progress. He didn't tell her what the situation was. Yasha to tell her. Kamu says, basically, like, hey, you need to start throwing people under the bus, like, telling. Like, you know, just name some names when you talk to Haley. And Lyric says, well, listen, a lot of people see you as a strong player in this house. I want to work with strong players. Mallory doesn't want to work with strong players. Mallory, she. She wants to nominate you and Chuck. It's like, what exactly did she. Hold on. What exactly did she say? Wants to nominate you and. And Chuck and Lala. And it's like Mallory throwing in that Lala pawn. When talking to Lyric, he says, oh, my. Well, you need to tell Haley this. Like, this is important information. You need to tell Haley. Of course, he runs upstairs to talk to Haley about it, and he tells her about this conversation. This. Hey, lyrics can saying that Haley that. That Mallory wants to put me and Chuck on the block. Lala. And Haley's like, did she say she's putting me up? No, she's putting Lala up. Okay, well, I was talking to Taylor, she says, and Taylor was telling me all about what Lyric was up to in the first couple of weeks. And. And Lyric then. Sorry. Then Taylor actually joins the conversation, and they start asking Taylor about this. They start asking Taylor about Mallory and how Mallory is saying she's common the block. And Taylor's like, can you blame her? You put her up. Taylor really, like, backing Mallory in this conversation. And ultimately, like, the conclusion here that. That Haley is reaching is like, listen, Kamu, Lyric is just trying to get you to do her dirty work and pitch fit. Mallory goes up this week instead of her. I'm. I'm sorry, but I'm putting Lyric up. Like, that's just how it is.
Lavina
Mm. Mm. Yeah. And, you know, this is. This is the part where I was like, I think I wrote it down too. I think. I think this is the part that I wrote down, like, America's next top bottom of the tool she had alliance. And this is where I was getting frustrated because I'm like, I know that this is what they all have to do, but it's such a frustrating thing for a fan to watch because you're just fighting to be the next person to be used as a pawn that can just potentially go home based on a blockbuster outcome. That's what's frustrating for me, which I'm not saying anything new. But that's all that was pulsating through my brain when I was watching this happen live.
Darren Armstrong
Yeah. So Lyric doing what she knows, which is going to Kamu, unfortunately for her, that was like, the worst person she could have gone to. The issue is that like. Like she feels like she has influence here, and she does, but she doesn't recognize that Kamu is actually, like, her Achilles heel right now. Kamu is her weakest component in this whole situation. So to have Kamu run up and give this information was probably counterproductive, especially because she fell into Mallory's trap of, like, Mallory not. Not giving her Haley's name, instead giving Lala's name. So she doesn't even have any incriminating evidence against Haley. So Lyric goes to Yash, she complains to Yash about Kamu not telling her about the nomination situation. And she. She realized, like, I'm not done yet. Like, I, I, I. There's nothing has happened. I told Kamu, but I, I haven't had a chance to talk to Haley yet. The night progresses on. And she's like, I gotta talk to Chuck. She waits for Chuck. She finds him. They. They have a conversation. And this time she's like, okay, I just need to go all out. This conversation, the first one didn't work. So when she talks to Chuck, who cares what Mallory actually told her? It's time to start making shit up. And so she starts. She. She gets into storytelling mode. She starts fully fabricating conversations that she's had with Mallory where Mallory is like. Like, who would you nominate? And Lyric is saying things like, oh, well, I don't know. I would probably put up people like Lala or whatever. And Mallory is like, what? You wouldn't put up Chuck or Kamu? Why wouldn't you do that? And she's like, I don't know. I want to work with strong people. And she's like, well, I would nominate Chuck, Kamu, and Haley. And she's like, wow, what? And Chuck eating it all, Eating it up. Oh, what the. I. Listen, I knew. I knew my spidey senses never fail me. I knew all of this already, but, oh, this changes everything.
Lavina
It changes nothing.
Darren Armstrong
This, I don't know. This potentially changes the whole game. Oh, we need to talk to Haley about this. We. First thing in the morning. So should we wake her up? No, no. First thing in the morning. Gotta make this pitch to hate. We need to keep you off the block. Mallory needs to go up on the block. And so she whips him up into a fever pitch of Just like, like pro Lyric anti Mallory. And she's like propped him up and, and, and she's got him in the slingshot ready to fire at. At Haley. And that's where we end the night as well. Just like, you know, Chuck ready to. To make this big pitch. Chuck saying. Planning to say to Haley, hey, Mallory plans to nominate you according to Lyric. Now, will this be effective? It's. It's. Listen, it's possible it's already happened. I haven't been monitoring if this conversation has happened yet. But, but the fact that Kamu came up to her right before making this pitch and saying that she planned to nominate him and Chuck without Haley involved, and then Chuck is going to come up in the morning and be like, oh, Lyric just told me all three of you, including Haley. I feel like it's not gonna land very well. So. Okay, they are, they are saying in the chat that, that it has already happened this morning and that it happened that quick. That's very funny. That it happened that quick.
Lavina
Even 9:00am on the, on the west coast right now.
Darren Armstrong
Yeah, here we go. I'm seeing good old BB Junkie here. Haley tells Chuck she does not believe Lyric. She's lying to save herself. She's going to ask Mallory. Look at that.
Lavina
Okay. Okay. Yeah. I. At the end of the day, in terms of the actual nominees, my thing is I don't see Haley not nominating Lyric. I just don't. I personally don't see it. And the reason for that is because I just. I've watched this show for so long that I just know that personal feelings take precedence. It. They just simply do. And just seeing how Haley's resentment is slowly building and how it's coming out in conversations with Kamu, obviously, when talking about Lyric with whoever else, like, I just don't see a world where she's putting up Mallory. I think she's putting up Lyric no matter what.
Darren Armstrong
It certainly seems like, of course, the veto ceremony is. Is now imminent here today on. On Monday, the. The day we're actually doing this update. So of course I will be back tomorrow morning, 11am Eastern, to update you on whatever happens today on The Big Brother 28 live feeds, including what happens with this replacement nominee and with Lyric likely becoming the replacement nominee again, I do think the rest of the week will likely focus on this Lyric versus Melody vote. Maybe not the rest of the week, but that is still unresolved as far as I'm concerned. I do think that there's probably still an assumption that Melody would leave in Fact, there was a little bit of a slip up that Devin's had when he said to Drew that it's between you and Melody, who leaves this week. But with Lyric on the block and Haley being particularly anti Lyric and particularly kind of like not concerned about Melody or Drew, you know, I do think that Haley might want to try to push for Lyric. Now, I'll say again, it doesn't matter what Haley wants or feels. What matters is what the vets will do. The only thing that matters in terms of how Haley feels is do the vets feel like it's important enough to change her mind? Because they can if they want to. And that's where we don't really know for sure. And I would say again, if Drew was like, hey, can you please keep Melody around and then wins the blockbuster, they might feel like it's worth keeping her around to keep Drew calm for now. Or, you know, there's just all kinds of potential directions that this could go. So I think basically the thing we're looking waiting for is a conversation between Devins and Dee where they decide who do we want to stay between Lyric and Melody. And then whichever they decide, they will likely just make happen. Unless they don't feel strongly enough about it to push. So that's what I'm interested in moving forward. But, Lavina, anything else that you wanted to bring up from yesterday?
Lavina
I mean, I wish we had seen the full Haley and Kamu conversation happening where Haley was essentially like confronting him about how she's been feeling. But the feeds got cut. I still don't understand why. Maybe they were setting up the backyard for something and to bring them all inside. That's what I saw, but we didn't see much of it. The feeds. The feeds cut right when they started. Kind of like I almost said arguing, but that's just kind of their tone of voice. The feeds. The feeds cut right then. And then they came back and Chuck was in the room and they were having like a laugh or whatever. However, I was noticing again, I'm a big fan of checking out the body language. What's everyone's faces saying? And it seems like Kamu was very irritated with Haley and Haley made a comment, maybe Taylor was in the room, Someone was in the room and had said something like along the lines of, oh, well, I'm gonna, you know, I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna call someone out until basically referencing the tea party where Kamu said to Jason, I'm putting you up as my veto target. You're going up. She essentially made fun of that to his face and the camera like the director cut at the perfect time and showed Kamu's like one shot reaction to that. He did not laugh. He did not laugh. Everyone in the room was laughing. He did not laugh. And you know what? I trouble in paradise. It's barely, barely paradise, but just very interesting.
Darren Armstrong
Well, that's about what we have for you then today. As I mentioned before, I'll be back tomorrow morning, 11am Eastern. I'm also going to be live tonight on the Roundtable podcast. Main Theme:
Hosts Taran Armstrong and Lavina dive into all the events from Day 27 in the Big Brother 28 house, covering major nomination drama, shifting alliances, the looming veto ceremony, and the continued dominance of BB veterans. The episode is rich with strategy talk, alliance-building (and breaking), and a close look at how the house's power holders shape the game.
Taran:
"Despite Drew being the target, the Renam matters a lot because, if he is saved, the next person up could really shift votes. Camus pushing for Lyric actually pushed Haley to consider putting Lyric up instead." [04:16]
Lavina:
"Watching the feeds yesterday felt a whole lot like America’s Next Top Tool Shed – bottom of the tool shed member. That’s what it felt like. The other side of the house is in complete power and has been since the start of the season." [06:13]
Taran:
"These three, the giggle girls, are really bringing me to like White Lotus season three energy—just constantly talking about each other, coming together as a group, then trashing each other." [10:50]
Taran:
"It seems useless at least in comparison to something like the diamond power of veto which is just immensely more powerful. This $5,000 bribe, it's not really likely going to do much that D couldn't have done without it." [24:27]
Lavina:
"Sometimes people are afraid to talk to [Haley]…I think Mallory handled it in the right way…she came into it getting a deal." [44:37]
Taran:
"She gets into storytelling mode. She starts fully fabricating conversations that she's had with Mallory...And Chuck is eating it all up. 'This changes everything.' It changes nothing." [60:00]
Lavina:
"A lot of people are getting…frustrated when they see clips of Angela and D that are, 'this is just too easy.' But…they have not been in danger the entire season. We have yet to see what they do under pressure." [35:58]
Mallory’s Self-Interest:
"I really like a fully self-interested player. It’s crazy how rare that can be these days." – Lavina [13:30]
Haley on Targeting Lala:
"If I were to throw Lala up on the block as the replacement nominee, that would be strictly personal. And I’m not here to play personal." – Haley (paraphrased/quoted by Taran & Lavina) [51:08]
Lyric’s Desperation Move:
“She gets into storytelling mode. She starts fully fabricating conversations…And Chuck is eating it all up. ‘This changes everything.’ It changes nothing.” – Taran [60:00]
On the Vets' Power:
"The vets are like gods overseeing the chessboard of the game that is a proxy...they're so far removed because of the powers, they literally have superpowers." – Taran [37:13]
Day 27 saw the power structure in the house hold strong, with Haley as nominal HOH but the true game drivers remaining the veteran trio, especially D and Devins. Mallory emerges as a sharper player—putting self-preservation first, shielding info, and making deals only when necessary. Lyric’s social game collapses into desperation, as her attempts to save herself tip into obvious fabrication. Despite efforts by various outsiders, the fate of the block—and house direction—still ultimately lies with the veterans.
Taran closes:
"The only thing that matters in terms of how Haley feels is if the vets feel like it's important enough to change her mind, because they can if they want to... We're waiting for Devins and Dee to decide who stays: Lyric or Melody. Whatever they decide, it will likely just happen." [62:41]
