you know he is the reason, you know what's happening. Rob said that he could do it tomorrow. He will do it again. Hello, everyone, and good morning. Welcome to our live feed update for July 25th. I'm your host, John Armstrong, and I'm here to update you on everything that happened yesterday on the big brother 28 live feeds. It was day 18 in the house and it's nominations. We have a new power, potentially the new person chosen for a power and some new suspicions, some new movements. Plenty to talk about here today. With me to talk about it is Maggie. How you doing, Maggie?
A
Hi, Taryn. I'm great. You forgot to mention some new hoh itis. I feel. Oh, I feel I. Boy, I'm. I'm maybe the one waving that flag, but there. We'll talk about it, all the conversations. But there. There's just a way of speaking that I feel like I usually see people who've come down with the case of hohi itis talking.
B
You know, I think. I think for me, it's just that that's just how Kamu always does.
A
Totally. I'm trying to actually give the benefit of the doubt here, believe it or not. Like, I'm trying to not make broad claims, but I just think he goes
B
about life with HOH ITIs. You know what I mean?
A
Sure,
B
we'll talk about it. All right. So of course, as you all know, kamu is the hoh. He won it after they evicted Rome and he. The plan as of Thursday night was to nominate lyrics Mallory and lala in order to backdoor Jason. This was an amended plan, amended by drew from the initial plan of initially nominating Jason. That's the plan coming into the morning and there's not really much chance to change this plan. Aside from the fact that Kamu plans to talk to the, the people that he plans to nominate, I guess. Before we get into that though, I do want to mention some interesting things from Unlocked last night. In particular, we got a little bit more clarity on the Drew and Camus Handyman alliance where we got diary rooms from both Kamu and Drew about how they feel about it. Nothing super surprising, I think, but confirmation that both of them are into this like Final two situation. But neither of them are like die hard loyalists to this idea that they're going to go to final, actual final two together. And we also got some perspective on the honor society in particular that Lala was, was talking about feeling like they're all honest and that she's, you know, seemingly genuinely, really into this alliance. Of course, Honor society being Lala, Taylor, Angela and Dee.
A
Yeah, well, you forgot to mention the best part of Unlocked was when you got your shout out. Come on, you're being modest here.
B
On the update I did, I posted a clip of my reaction. It was very fun. Thank you to Derek and to Taylor for making that happen. Rob was on Unlocked, by the way. If you didn't watch it, you like. And here's the thing, genuinely to those who are not watching Unlocked because maybe they gave it a shot last season, they're like, this is lame. Not only did, did we get a shout out on the show and Rob had a whole video on the show, it's, and I mean this, I was saying this before that even happened. Genuinely. Really, like pretty good. Like, like I, I really enjoyed Unlocked last night even before all the shout out stuff because we're getting insights on these alliances, we're getting this extra footage and, and people's thoughts on these little alliances that like stuff like honor society and, and maybe handymen, like, these are things that might never make the show. There are so many little alliances as, as you know, as a listener to the updates that like never make the show. And now they're on sometimes Unlocked, which is very nice. In addition to that, we got like a family, like a home visit for Jason, which is another thing that like, I think we kind of missed from the show proper. So I've, I've really been enjoying it. I recommend checking it out. It's, it's. And it's also like, unlike most episodes of the show, it's a little bit more evergreen. You can kind of, you're not like, oh, this was like ancient history to go and watch last night's Unlocked. You could still go and watch it.
A
So congratulations to Taylor and all of them over there. I know they worked really hard on it. And congratulations to you Taryn, on your shout out. Maybe next we'll get a video of you. Next time you just recreate another Tick tock. We gotta.
B
Yeah, I guess.
A
Lyrics Tick tocks. How about that? All right.
B
All right. Well, yes, so, so to the day at hand here. Kamu is going to spend his morning doing some more one on ones primarily talking to the people he plans to nominate as pawns. He talks to Lyric, talks to Mallory. He talks to Lala. Lyric and Mallory are both going to push back pretty hard. And after Jason, or sorry after Kamu has these conversations, he says that they all went about as pretty, pretty much as well as they could have but that the Lyric conversation in particular was the hardest one. I think because he had or not, I think because he had already told her that she was good and then had to sort of reverse that and promise that she would be safe and that the veto would be used on her. He is going to tell all three of these nominees the plan which is that he intends to essentially backdoor Jason. And, and, and to keep it to themselves. So, so you know, they, but they push back. They, they're not, they're not very pleased about it. But you know, as, as he said, they, they go decently well.
A
Yes. I'm not sure if you can see me right now because Taryn is frozen for me so I'm sorry if my Internet is messed up.
B
No, I think this is, if you can hear me. This is, I think I'm frozen.
A
Okay. Yes, we can hear you. Hopefully we can just do a camera off camera back on situation and we'll, we'll move from there. But we can hear you great. You're totally fine. Heard right now. Taryn, I think.
B
Okay, that's good. I'm, I'm going to work on trying to fix the camera. It is, it is very frozen.
A
The great news is the picture of you that's frozen is not you in the middle of like, you know, you're not like ah, like you're very much a normal face. I think that I did want to point out just a couple like I would be remiss if I didn't say the hoh itis thing and then not point out a couple of things that like Camus said during these conversations that I thought were just a little bit like, you know, these are things that like if you're playing a social game of Big Brother, you wouldn't Say, or just, like, being a person, you wouldn't say in life, you know, without really feeling safe and, like, you're in charge. Like telling Lyric that the guys would never vote her out because she's eye candy. Or telling Latrice that she's, like, you know, rubbing people the wrong way because she wants them to keep track of their towels and calling her mama a million times. Like, there are just some stuff that. With Kamu, I was a little bit like, okay, okay, dude. You know, I'm not. I'm. I'm not sure that if I was on the other end of that conversation, hearing I was going up, and my platitude is that I'm eye candy, so the guys don't. Won't want to vote me out like that. That would make me feel better. It's just my thought.
B
Yeah, I mean, it's. What I will say is I think that for the most part, these conversations go kind of fine for. For him in that they are. The. The people being nominated are not, like, super, super mad about this situation. Mallory is upset. He basically tells Mallory that she. He's heard that she's been coming for him from multiple people, including some people that. That she might be close to.
A
Yeah, the people. People that are close to her. So think about the people that you've been having conversations with. Who have you been having conversations with that you're close to? Like, boogeyman type stuff, you know? So hopefully Taryn will be back in a moment. But Mallory was quite upset during this conversation, especially because he was saying that he had heard, you know, people were coming for that Mallory would have put up Chuck Haley, thog, as I like to call her, and Camu. And Mallory was like, that is simply not true. That's not true. I want to go after the vets. And he said, well, I've heard also from multiple people that you've been going after Barrett. And this freaks Mallory out. Like, this really freaks her out because she is like, I never did that. Oh, great. Terrence back. I never, ever said that. I would never say that. I am really close with Barrett. Oh, my God, has this gotten back to Barrett? And then she starts to sort of spiral. Like, there. There becomes a bit of a Mallory, like, oh, no, what's going on? Spiral.
B
Yes. And my computer is. Is not pleased with me at the moment. So, Maggie, I might need to hand the reins to you for a couple of minutes while I do maybe a restart here, but. But yes, maybe to set up the. The next bits of this.
A
Sure.
B
There's the Mallory is going to kind of go on a little bit of a tear wondering who did this, who told. Who told Kamu that she fully believes Kamu's explanation, at least at first, that this is somebody else's doing. He has the conversation with Lala where he tells her that the other people find her annoying. Yeah. Also as well as exposing the. The fact that he knows about the Angela D. Taylor alliance with that he says includes Haley. And so that's going to be a whole thing. And so I'll let Maggie talk a little bit about that and I'll try to be back as soon as I can.
A
Oh, please come back, Taryn. This is. Well, hello, everyone. Okay, Taryn will be back soon. At Sockdoc, we know being a healthy

A
Download ZocDoc search by specialty, insurance and availability. Book instantly, no cheat codes required. Find a doctor you love with zocdoc. So we'll start because he queued up Lala and him telling her that he knew about the Angela D. Taylor alliance. So lala comes down after this conversation and immediately pulls Angela. Immediately pulls Angela. And it's like, Angela, he knows. Like, he knows. And Angela immediately is like, oh, my God, he's gonna put me up. Oh, my God, he's gonna put me up. And she starts getting really, really stressed out and she's like, no, he's not gonna put you up. He's putting me up. But that girl Haley, thog, she is not to be trusted. So Lala is blaming all of this on thog. Haley, she's saying, you know, I know that she spread. Spread this. Like this was her big mouth. Like, we, you cannot tell her anything, anything at all. This is all happening while Kamu's talking to Mallory and Mallory's like, freaking out that somebody else has, you know, been spreading all of these lies about her. So Mallory comes downstairs after, she's very upset and she starts talking to Melody and she's trying to figure out, like, who would have said this kind of stuff to Camu about her. And her first thought is maybe it was Rome. Oh, thank God Jared's back. So I covered the Angela Lala convo where she blamed everything on Haley. And Angela was like, I'm going Up. And now I'm back on the Mallory Melody convo. That's what you missed on Glee.
B
Yes. Yeah. So Mallory very upset about the fact that she might be nominated or that she's going to be nominated. She's very. She talks to Melody. This is a funny conversation. Mallory, of course, is back to, like, week one levels of, no, I don't want to be affected. Week three, who did this to me? Oh, man, I really need to, like, win this veto. You're gonna help me win this veto, right? Melody, she also is, like, at one
A
point, she goes next to Lyric, like, who do you think would go home? And Melody just stares at her silently and goes, well, I wouldn't want you to go home. Like, what. What are we doing?
B
As very bad bedside manner.
A
Really not good.
B
She basically is telling Mallory the truth, which is that in the event that she faces a vote against Lyric or Lala, she's probably going home. But then when they talk through the votes, it's like, well, as long as I have you and Drew and a couple of other people, I'm actually fine. Like, oh, yeah, maybe you'll be fine then. Um, and Melody is once again just gonna be like, yeah, I mean, you probably don't want to pick me for the veto. Like, I suck at it. You probably want to pick somebody that's good at the veto. And of course, later tells Drew, like, I don't want to. I don't want to play in the veto. I don't want.
A
Totally. I also, the thought. The thing that I thought was very funny is that Mallory was like, who could have done this? Who could have said this? And she was like, that Rome. Rome Pop probably said it. And if it wasn't Rome, you know who it probably was. Yeah, Josh, you know the two people that, if it was, it wouldn't completely blow up her whole game.
B
Yes. Well, to be fair on the Yosh point, he did go around the night before trying to be the guy. And this is, again, such classic, like, rookie mistakes from a guy who doesn't really know the show, but, like, trying to be the guy that's like, hey, if you end up on the block, don't worry about it. Like, you know you're gonna be okay. Like, trying to give people a little heads up because he had some info, and then that just made him look super sketchy to them. They're like, oh, he's maybe doing some stuff.
A
But meanwhile, Yash literally is being told alliance names in front of him and not clocking it.
B
Yes.
A
That's the level that we're at with
B
Yash, Mallory also talks with Lyric about the fact that they're both going on the block. They cry together a little bit and there is some suspic. Maybe it was Drew that told Kamu this information and it was, it was Drew. But, but, but you know, they, they, you know, they do, they do kind of suspect this. Mallory, though, cleverly is not going to tell Melody her suspicions about Drew. She recognizes that she needs the both of them. So some good stuff there. So in the meantime though, with the Lala situation, just to, to sort of round that out to be sure we've, we've covered all of that. When Lala talks to Angela and Taylor about the fact that Kamu knows about the alliance fully, as I think you mentioned, Maggie, they're blaming Haley for this. And uh, and this is really like the start of yet another. Like there's now new newfound paranoia and suspicion for Haley when it comes to Angela and B. They are now on the screw Haley train and she is the latest person that they don't trust anymore, even though she had very little to do with any of this. And they're like, we need to start planting seeds against her, Takamu and, and Haley needs to go.
A
Also. I do think that it's just what, you know, you were talking about sort of Angela's psyche yesterday with Puya. Like the closer you are to her, the more suspicious she is of you. But also like she really needs an enemy. Like she really needs a target. She needs somebody to put all of that anxious energy on because you know, she is self. Admittedly we've watched it. She's very anxious in the game about where her position is, what's going on. She doesn't want to be tricked. So when all of that like energy is out there and you don't really have a target to direct it to, it becomes like very self destructive and you feel confused and you can't really like it. It almost like paralyzes you. So Angela's really, really good at finding somebody that she's decided is the problem.
B
Yeah, yeah. And D can barely keep up because she's meanwhile still like, oh, I'm supposed to be targeting Drew maybe a little bit Taylor. And now she's. I guess we gotta start dropping seeds on Haley the next. Because D does talk to Kamu and she lets him know, like, hey, just so you know, Drew's been saying some things. He's been saying that he doesn't like how you're in all these conversations and and you know, all this stuff and, and comma's like, well, should I, should I talk to Drew about it? No, no, no, no. You don't, don't say anything. Don't say anything to Drew. It's like, yeah, d be careful here.
A
I also think that this is what, you know, we talked a lot about the vets being in such a powerful position. They have so much going for them. Like big brother. There is so much time in the way that there isn't in Survivor for you to just do. And Loki, I'm kind of like is de on the winning tribe right now and getting really annoyed with the people that when come merge, like she should want to work with and now she's like trying to go after her own alliance because she's been living too long with her starting tribe and they're winning a ton and she's getting pissed off at them. Like, I feel like I'm watching that sort of same phenomenon happen, but in the house and I, I, I think that that is something to, like, keep note of.
B
Yeah, I, I mean, I completely agree. I think that, you know, we'll, we'll see. We'll see. There's also, there's some more in terms of powers, there's certainly going to be some more talk throughout the day. So Kamu has to talk to Jason. Jason's not going on the block and Jason is very happy about this. Jason, you're not going to go up. Really? Oh, my God. Like, I really expected to be going up. And the fact that you're not doing this means so much to me, combo, and I wouldn't have even blamed you for putting me up. But, like, it, this, I really, like, I, I really, I can't wait to prove to you, like, how much this means. And Khan was like, yeah, and, you know, like, I just feel like you should just go, go and work on your relationships with people. Yes. And, and now I'll be able to, you know, I thought I'd just be like, trying, like having to win every single week. And now I can actually focus on relationships because, because you're keeping me. Oh, thank you so much, Kamu. I was like, yeah, well, you know, just you win that veto, hopefully you'll come and talk to me. Oh, of course, of course. I just, and thank you so, so much. Yeah, you know, well, you can, you can thank me if they win win the veto. But yeah, but yes, yes, yes, that. You're welcome. You're welcome.
A
I wonder what could have been obvious about how could Jason later In the day have realized that maybe he's the back door. You know,
B
this. This did feel genuine in the moment, but. But Jason is going to pretty quickly seem to recognize whether it was from the start and he just like, was acting or. Or just quickly afterward realized, wait a minute, just because I'm not going up today doesn't mean I'm not going up later. And he talked about the veto a lot, so this is not going to last.
A
Yeah, definitely not Lyric, though.
B
I appreciate Lyric's effort here. Not only did she push back quite a bit initially, she goes back upstairs to make another push after their first conversation ends. Another strong push. I really appreciate the effort here. In fact, I think that lyrics sort of method is probably the most amount like the. The just the right amount of push that you should want if you're told you're going to go up as a pawn. She pushes back initially. She goes back upstairs, after a few more conversations, tries again, and then a third time goes up and says, it's all right. I. I was thinking about, it's fine, I trust you. I'll give in to the process. So like, push, push, push. And then accept, please don't evict me. I thought all of that was great. She does, though, in the pushes fall into the trap of, like throwing anybody's name she can under the bus, which is never a good thing because it's not. It's not. What about Barrett or Taylor or Drew? Drew. And it's just like it. You know, the person who is hoh has thought of these names. Like, you are not going to introduce a new concept to them as. As a potential nominee. It's never worth it to throw out a name. It can only be used against you once you're on the block. So just don't do that. But in terms of the effort, I liked it.
A
I have to say. I'm just gonna say this now. I am so impressed by lyrics for so many reasons. I know a lot of people, like, were really bothered by what was going on with her in Rome and like, sure, but Lyric is super self interested, deeply self interested. And the best thing about Lyric is that she doesn't have an ego like so many of these players. Their egos tend to get in their way. Like, look at what happened to Jason. Jason could not stop himself from sharing about all of the evil tricks that he was doing with everybody. Lyric is like, great. Like, Lyric does not care if people think that she is a bimbo or eye candy or that she's like, playing the guy like she doesn't care as long as it gets her further. And I think that that is such a huge boon for her and her game as the season goes on. And I cannot wait to watch her play. I think she's being severely underrated right now. I think that people were way too hard on her for all of the Rome stuff because even through that, like, yes, she liked him, but also, like, the fact that she got herself off of the block last week, amazing work from her. I think that she's doing great and I'm really excited to see where she goes.
B
Yeah, I mean, this is probably not the most like, innovative comparison given that she's a lawyer, secret lawyer that people underestimate. But, like, she reminds me a little bit of Ashley last season in the sense that, like, people do overlook her as a player, but she's actually incredibly self interested, will slit anybody's throat and say and do whatever she needs to do and. And so it'll be interesting to sort of track that journey, assuming she survives the week, of course. So we continue through the day. Worth worth noting actually here that in the conversation with Dean Angela, when they were talking about Haley, Angela also mentions she really does not want Mallory to leave this week. Remember, Angela has comforted Mallory in the past. She's going to do so again today. And, and she really likes Mallory. Despite the fact that Mallory is perhaps the biggest threat to the vet's existence. Angela has this connection with her and, and she says to d like, I want Mallory to stay this week. She does not like what's happening this week. Mallory's on the block. She doesn't want Mallory to go. Lala's on the block. She doesn't want lala to go. They're planning to backdoor Jason. She doesn't mind that it's not her preference. She'd prefer for Drew or Taylor, maybe even Haley at this point, to. To be targeted instead. Now those things aren't happening, in my opinion. So given that those things are not happening, it made me wonder, oh, if Angela, if the noms stay the same or even if Jason comes onto the block and Lyric stays on the block, I do think that Lyric is the person Angela has the least amount of interest in saving. Now, with Jason on the block, it's probably just Jason, but in the event that Jason somehow doesn't go on the block and there are a couple of weird scenarios where that might happen because of weird power fears and, you know, the fact that he might straight up win a veto, so stuff like that, I do Think there are spots where she could end up trying to take Lyric out of the game. I think they're pretty rare spots, but. But it's something to keep track of the fact that Angela, like Mallory, is supposed to be the backup target. And so, like, sorry, the. Obviously, the Blockbuster is the big instance where if Jason wins the Blockbuster, it's Mallory versus Lyric. I think that Angela might be pushing for Mallory to stay there, even though. Really.
A
And no, that's the thing that is, like, ugh. Angela's reads are just, like, not correct. They're just not.
B
Well, I mean, she knows that Mallory's coming for the vest. She just thinks, like, I have a great relationship with Mallory. And I want to say, yeah, but
A
Mallory, with what we're about to talk about later, with some other stuff floating around, Mallory wins. Hoh. Suddenly, Angela's on her way out the door. You know, like, it. Her. It's just not correct. It's just not. Yeah.
B
Another person Angela has taken a liking to Chuck. We don't talk about Chuck much. That's because he's not really doing much most of the time, but he remains just like, a relatively. I don't. I can't. I can't unfortunately, say likable presence because not. There are some people that don't really like him in the house, but. But not for any, like, specific reason. It's usually just, like, people find that he lacks substance is what they've talked about. But Chuck talks to Angela about how he had a little bit of, like, a soft moment where he was missing his family. And Angela's gonna comfort him and give him a little bit of a pep talk. And after this conversation, she says to the cameras, I love Chuck. I love him some. He's gonna make some woman very happy. And. And if Angela takes a liking to you, that's pretty good for your game. Well,
A
let's see how she feels in six days.
B
No, Mallory has it exactly correct. Talk to Angela, like, a couple of times a week where you're crying to her and she gets to comfort you and then stay the hell away. Otherwise, Chuck is starting to figure it out.
A
Totally. Totally.
B
All right. So throughout the morning, people are wondering who's gonna get this power. It's either somebody's gonna walk out of the Diary room in a costume, and they're gonna be like, okay, we figured it out, or somebody's gonna actually get power. And so they've been tracking, watching who is coming out of the diary room, who's been in the Diary room for a long Time heavy suspicion lands on Lala because she spends a long time in the diary room. Now you know, sure, Lala spends a long time in the diary room. That's maybe a little abnormal for Lala but she is going on the block and was just told about it so maybe that's why. But there's heavy suspicion that it could be Lala. There's also then heavy suspicion that it could be Jason. I think mostly because he's now an underdog, won a competition and it's just like the fear that like of course your target might get a power. Now the assumption though is that it's probably going to be Devin's. Even throughout most of the house, obviously the fans assumed this would be the case as well. Devins goes into the diary room, he comes out and people are kind of like Devin, like what's he says didn't get it. Didn't get it. Yeah, didn't get it. Walks into the pod room. Devin's of course won the votes. But the thing that we didn't know whether it would happen or not, whether he get a power or a punishment, he did in fact get a power and he doesn't tell anybody, at least initially. He eventually is going to talk to D and let her know what this power is. He tells D, I got the power and here's what the power is. It is a diamond power of Vito that Devins has. Okay, wow, that's incredibly powerful. Let's go back. If you don't know what a diamond power veto is, they technically called like the Final Four veto, a diamond power veto. Back in BB4. It's not the same. Big Brother 12. Matt Hoffman opens Pandora's box, gets a diamond power of veto. This veto allows him to, on top of everything else, change the nominations. He can take anybody he wants off the block and replace them with anybody else that he wants. There are some exceptions. You cannot re nominate the hoh. You cannot nominate the veto holder or the person the veto holder removed from the block if the regular veto's holder pulled somebody off of the block. So there's a regular veto and a diamond power veto. The diamond power veto supersedes the regular veto but cannot nominate the regular veto or the person they took off the block. Usually the diamond power veto would also happen after Devin says this is going to take place at the veto ceremony. And and so I would assume regular veto goes first. Then diamond power veto gets to go. Matt Hoffman's power was good for two weeks and he needed it in those two weeks. There is One more instance of this in Big Brother us slightly. Christie and Big Brother 21 famously had the diamond upgrade power, which was not a full diamond power veto. It was good for four weeks, but it only allowed her to upgrade the existing veto into a diamond veto. So if she didn't win the veto herself, then she'd be gifting the diamond veto to whoever won the veto. This was incredibly useful for her. Very famously when when Cliff won the HOH and nominated the Jacks, Jackson and Jack Jackson, of course, the eventual winner, Jackson won that veto and Christie was able to use the leverage of, hey, if you don't do what I want, I'm going to use the diamond power veto and Jackson will just choose anyway. Cliff then had to make a deal with her. We say had. He could have maybe tricked her, but felt like he had to make a deal with her to then nominate a person essentially of her and her alliance's choosing. She then never ended up having to use this veto because they were in power and the threat of using it was more effective than actually using it. So this is what Devin says.
A
I want to be clear that when Matt won the veto in BB12, he was not allowed to tell anyone about it. So that was a part of the conditions of the diamond power of veto, that he could not use it as leverage, that it had to remain a secret, otherwise he would lose it. That is not the case for Rick Davins.
B
No. And there's a good reason for the forced secrecy. So Devin's has this veto. It is good according to him, for the next six weeks. Six weeks from this week, meaning he says it's six ceremonies, so this week will count as one and then five more weeks after this. That is an incredibly long time to hold a power like the diamond power of veto, especially if you are allowed to tell people about it. It's. I mean, it's basically. It's not just like, you know, guaranteed safety. When, when Zach had his, like, bribe power that was like, oh, I get to stay safe. We were like, oh, well, Zach's basically guaranteed jury because in the one event. Yeah, I know. In the one event that he's maybe in trouble, he can use this or even just use the threat of it to. To keep himself safe. Like, this is basically guaranteed jury. The diamond power veto is so much more powerful than that. In Survivor, there's a thing called the God idol. It allows you to use the idol to protect yourself after the votes are read. And it was way overpowered. It's. It's barely been Used in the history of the show because the fans are like, this is too overpowered. You know, like, this is like, it's. It's unfair. Devin's himself, of course, very used to using idols and advantages, but the diamond power of veto is like, it makes the God idol look like. Like little brother, like little baby idol because it keeps you safe and you choose who replaces you in the spot of danger. And, like, even just on its own, Like I said, this probably guarantees Devon's jury in the one spot, the one time where the one person who's willing to nominate him does he just. He can use this, protect himself and then throw up a target of his on the block, something along just baseline level of use. It's incredibly powerful, especially for that extreme length of time With a little bit of a, you know, spice of social strategy. This becomes game breaking, where if you approach an hoh who might even think about nominating you and you say, well, you remember that power that nobody copped to. Let's pretend hypothetically that I had it. And let's pretend hypothetically that that this power and your hoh, like, we don't want these things to conflict. I don't want to have to use the power. I don't think you want to make me use the power. I don't think you want an ally of yours leaving this week. And I don't want to have to be at war with you. Instead of nominating me or my allies that I want to protect, what if we work together to find a mutual target that allows us to work together this week and instead of, you know, having to go to war and you know you have again, like you, this is maybe going unsaid, but like you losing your closest ally on your hoh, you can't compete next week and everyone's against you. You can use the diamond power veto as significant leverage to keep yourself and your allies safe for the. For the next six weeks. And if they want to call your bluff, whatever, you're still safe. And there's a very high chance you can take out an ally of the HOHs and then just go after them full force the following week because your bet your numbers are better. This is. I genuinely think. I think it's the most overpowered power in the history of the show. I think it tops the coup d' etat because that was only good for two weeks. I believe six weeks of diamond power veto is so much power.
A
Okay, there are a couple of things that I want to before we go full doom and gloom. This is what's going to happen? A couple of things that I want to bounce off of you. First, let's say all of this does happen. The good news is that if this does, like he does use the diamond power of veto and put somebody up, they're not automatically totally screwed because there is a blockbuster competition. This has to happen before the blockbuster. People can still win a competition. But my main point, I saw your tweet yesterday about this and I was like, totally. And I agree that so many people would do this, but this is Rick Devins. And if you think that Rick Devins is going to dilute the power of his TV moment to stand up and say, actually it's not over, and have everybody have shocked faces and oh, my God, oh, my God. Like, I do not think that even if it's more optimal for Rick to play this way, I do not think that he will genuinely. I would be shocked if this is the way he decides to play it rather than letting everything play out and then him whispering with D in the corner like, I'm going to do it at the ceremony. I'm going to do it at the ceremony. Like, I just cannot foresee everything that we know about Rick Devins. Yes, he's a smart player. Yes, he knows social strategy. Yes, he is good. He's good at these games. But at the end of the day, Rick Devins wants to have fun and make good tv. So I think that anybody else on this season, anybody else who had this information and this power, would be able to gamify this. Rick is going to keep it to himself so that he can be the showman. That is where I'm planting my flag and that's where I hope this season goes so that we don't get six weeks of everybody doing whatever Rick Devins wants them to do.
B
I think this is a very good point and I think that Devin's behavior over the course of the day in terms of who he's telling and who he's not telling supports this. This theory as well. I think that Devins is 100% thinking of this like it's an idol. Even when he talks to D, he says, I don't normally tell people my stuff, but I'm telling you. And that's because he's like, I've got an idol in my pocket. You don't tell people about an idol. You, you know, you use it for. For trickery. So I agree. I don't think that this is going to be something that the Devins in particular is. Is thinking about using in this way, which could be very lucky for us. I will say small caveat to that, in my opinion, once he gets to the place where, let's say Mallory wins in hoh three weeks from now, and it's like Mallory's like, devins, I'm nominating you. I think there's a chance he then realizes, wait, I could use it, or I could just threaten to use it first. I think the thought might occur to him eventually once he's in that position, but I don't think he will use this until that. In that way, until that situation happens. And he might not even think of it. Then he might just want to use it in the way that you're saying, which would be better TV and I would imagine is the way that the producers want it to be used because it's pretty annoying otherwise. Yeah.
A
And I think that the thing is, like, D is an amazing player and D is very creative too, but I think they aren't. They are both going to look at it like an immunity idol. Like, I think that also, like you said, the trickery of it, like, Rick is a trickster. That's what he does. And I just cannot imagine that there's a world where Rick would want to dilute the TV moment in order to play a more streamlined and better game, if that makes sense.
B
It does.
A
Rick declared war last week in a way that he did not need to. Like, he could be locked in with Rome and essentially the safest position in the House right now. And Rick decided, I would much rather declare war, do this. There was this insane veto ceremony, and now I get rewarded for it with the power.
B
Yes. And. And we'll just. We'll talk about it now. Basically, Devin's, as I said, he tells D. He says, I'm only telling you. And he sticks to that. He fully denies it to Drew, to Barrett, and to Angela and of course to everyone else as well. But, like, Full on has conversations with Barrett about the power, speculating what it might be speculating. Why did I not get it? Talking to Angela about, yeah, I really thought I would get it, but I didn't. I. I wonder if America looks at me like I bullied Rome and Angela's like, yeah, they did do that to me. They did do that to me on my season. They thought I was bully. A bully. And so, like, he's very much keeping his closest allies in the dark, aside from D. And that is not the behavior at all of somebody who understands the most effective way to use this because he can't like if in that situation where Mallory, Mallory wins that hoh, he can't really like use this and trust Mallory to keep her mouth shut about it and not tell his allies. And now all of a sudden his allies are going to be like, what's going on and why are you keeping D safe and not us with this power and all kinds of stuff. Right. Like there's a way to set this up that works a lot if you're going to use it as, as like majority power, influence stuff. So even as is, I will say if he whips this thing out at any point and Angela realizes that he did not tell her about it, I do think that Angela is going to have a huge problem with that. She's going to have an even bigger problem if she realizes that he told D not her.
A
Yeah.
B
So this is another really interesting part of where this could go. We know Angela and, and I think that she would take this as like a. I, I mean I. There's always a chance, but I think Angela will take this as like the deepest of betrayals. She's been so invested in the relationship with the two of them, D even more so than, than. Than Devin's and to know that D kept Devin's a secret and didn't tell her about it and that they're actually closer than she is. I think this will, this will break her in the game.
A
I completely agree. And also what is good because I've been like, okay, what will Devin do with this, you know, if he, if he decides not to do the big, you know, I'm going to make sure that I have complete control for the next six weeks and threaten all of the HOHs basically. And I'm like, D will want him to diamond power of veto himself or her and put Drew in their place. Like that would be the biggest TV moment right. Of like and I'm backstabbing, you know, but without Angela's influence here on him and being like, this is what you should do, this is what you should do. I actually think Devins and D can like be much more clear headed about what they should do with it in terms of if they are just going to straightforward like immunity idol themselves off of the block basically and put somebody else in their place. And I'm very interested to see what they can come up with without all of the rest of the outside influence from their alliance.
B
Yeah. Another part of this when it comes to keeping it a secret is that because I've seen this in the chat as well, like, oh, well, what if you just pretend like you got it at a different time, you can't really. The. The Powers. This is not like Survivor where you can just pretend like, oh, I just found it, or like plant it and then be like, oh, what's this? And find it in front of them to pretend you just found it. Yeah. The Powers are doled out at very specific times. If Devin's tries to claim that he got it next week instead of this week, what happens when somebody walks out with a costume next week, can't claim it then? What happens if somebody, even if they do get a power, and then Devin's is like, yeah, I ended up getting it week four. And they're like, no, because remember the power I used? I got mine week four. What about the week that nobody claimed? I wonder when that. I wonder if Devin's got it that week. It's basically impossible to claim you got it at any other time. And Devin's has. Has already made the call that has locked him into this path that he lied. He fully lied, did not tell them. The only way I think forward for him is if he, like, either does it soon or takes the full brunt of it himself and fully. And D. Is able to fully convince Angela she didn't know about it. I think that's like the smoothest way through if it ends up happening. But I do think Angela will question like, D, did you know? Did you know? And so it's dangerous stuff and it's interesting stuff because it's not just Angela they have to worry about. It's also Barrett and Drew, who. Whose faith in Devin's is really all that's keeping them from actually diving off the diving board into the pool of the other side of the house. Because Angela and Dee are certainly not making any effort to keep them on board. And so if Devin's And. Or, sorry, if Barrett and Drew realize they've been lied to because they. They fully believe Devin's, that he doesn't have the. They trust him. And they're like, we were so convinced he would get it. I guess he doesn't have it. It must be somebody else. And this is just another piece of potential evidence to point to the fact that maybe they shouldn't trust him. Now I say all of this when they find out it's going to be. Devin's probably evicting somebody who is really valuable, maybe one of them. Like, it's going to be a little too late to do anything about it. But. But it's. That's where some of the Intrigue, I think, can come from this based on the way Devins is deciding to play it.
A
Picture this. Yes, picture this. There are three people on the block. One of them is Angela. We're at the veto ceremony. Devin stands up, uses his diamond power veto to take Angela off the block. We get another iconic moment of her looking up, going, that's what I'm manifesting. I don't know what situation we would need to find ourselves in that. That's why Devin uses this. But I just need history to repeat itself in that way. This summer. Say I do.
B
I am marrying a stranger like never before. Am I crazy?
A
It's a whole new married at First Sight on Peacock with new experts. My name is Dr. Lisa.
B
My name is Paul Brunson.
A

B
Everything is just not enough. You're a little bit crazy.
A
I don't know what's gonna happen. I want my fairy tale ending. Married at First Sight now streaming new episodes Thursdays only on Peacock.
B
Final note on the diamond power of veto. Of course, this would be even more absurdly powerful if not for the blockbuster. The blockbuster gives a little bit of an out, which is, I assume, if they were thinking about balance at all, why they felt like they could allow it. Allow it to last for six weeks. I do not think the blockbuster counterbalances this significantly enough for that. For it to be six weeks. But, you know, without the. The blockbuster, it would. It would just purely be, I get to evict whoever I want on your HOH and you can't do anything about it. With the blockbuster, it's. You have a maybe 33 chance of not having your. Your person evicted. But because Devin's can also choose, it's like, okay, Mallory, I'm gonna put up Lyric next to, you know, the two big comp threats you're trying to take out. Let's see if Lyric beats them in a blockbuster or if we're gonna evict Lyric. You know, it's still pretty, pretty bad. And I've seen a lot of people be like, yeah, just call the bluff. You just have to. You just gotta do it. It's like, very easy to say from the outside when it's your game and your allies and you can't compete in the HOH next week, it's a whole different story. And, like, it takes a lot to. To. To do something else in the face of that. So I'm very down on this as an introduced power. I think the Fact that Devon's got it hopefully means that it's in the hands of one of the few people that will use it in the least annoying way.
A
Yep.
B
We'll have to see.
A
We will. So I am just hoping that the doom and gloom doesn't come home to roost because we've got Devin with it.
B
Yes. All right, so we finally then get to the nominations and everything goes according to plan. Lala, Lyric and Mallory are nominated for eviction. And at this point, Jason, he recognizes what's happening. I'm the back door, and he's gonna be. He's gonna try to do some interesting things here. So let me just maybe, like, run through some of Jason's work throughout the day. First of all, he's talking with Lala a lot. He still feels good with Lala and Taylor. He fully blames Angela and D for this whole situation. This is in part because I think people like Drew are sort of like, I don't know if Kamu's in charge of his own decisions here. I don't think somebody's maybe putting him up to this. And. And this. This notion that Angela and D were behind the previous nominations as well last week is carrying forward. And. And he's basically like, D and Angela are running this house. They're running this house. Why am I being targeted? Because I. I pissed off Angela. She caught me making a face of the cameras. And. And he knows. And because he knows he's being backdoored.
A
Side note. Sorry. Sorry, Jason. Drew is so lucky that Jason thinks that Angela just saw him do that. Like, how did we have not talked about enough how lucky Drew is that that was Jason's takeaway.
B
Yeah. Yeah. I mean, well, here's the thing too, though, because it's not like Jason is unaware of the fact that Drew is with the other side in some capacity. In fact, he says as much to Lala and Taylor. I think Drew and Barrett are with the other side, but I think we can maybe pull them. Like, he has a very accurate read on the house that Drew and Barrett are the people that are. They're capable of potentially pulling over because Drew has connections to Melody, Barrett has connections to Mallory, and they're on the bottom of that side, which at this point, they kind of are. And at this point, Jason's perception might be better than Drew and Barrett's perception in terms of where Drew and Barrett stand in the house. And so as much as you might not want to trust them or might be annoyed that they're. They're, like, playing the middle. They are required votes for you if you want to stay or like, compete against the other side of the house. Very much the benefit of being a successful floater is that people can be mad at you all they want, but it's a terrible mistake to actually target you. And so, so this is what's in Jason's mind. And he spends much of the day trying to. To really, to pitch to Drew in. In various ways that he should kind of come over and join their side. He also has a conversation with D where he plays dumb about knowing he's the back door. He's like, am I? I mean, first of all, thank you so much for helping me stay up. I'm so grateful that you were able to help influence him. I know you had a part in it. Which is. Which is an Ashley move from last season. Very fun. And. And also, like, am I in trouble here? Because I'm worried that Haley might be doing some stuff and very much like playing into her suspicion on Haley. He actually has a good relationship with Haley, but sort of using that relationship to. To throw her under the bus to try to get something going here. And it, it's kind of working because Lala talks to Kamu. She's like, Jason knows he's being back door and comes. How. How could he have possibly known? I only told the entire house what. And LA's like, I think it might be Haley. What? So. So this is all happening here. How much of this is consequential is another question. But it's what Jason's up to. It's kind of what Lala and Taylor are up to. And the Lala and Taylor side of it is a little more interesting. So we'll get there soon. But. But this is really what Jason's trying to do here to, you know, number one, keep himself off the block, number two, try to build some kind of army.
A
Definitely. And it's just really. It's really hard. The place that somebody like Jason is in where you're trying to kind of go week to week and like what you were built like, this just goes to show that you have to solidify something early because I think that that really is like Jason and Lala's mistake that early on they didn't solidify any sort of structure like that Rome side was very loose.
B
Like it wasn't a real structure. Yeah, Mama's Angels, they didn't lock anything in in the way that they needed to. But I mean, to be fair to them also, they never won power. It's much Harder to lock in a structure without power.
A
But I think that, like, then maybe you need to pull in the people that do did win power and are.
B
Yes.
A
I just think that like this, they're reaping what they sowed by standing on the back of their heels that first week.
B
At the end of the day, this was true of everyone in the house. Not only do you kind of need to be working with the vets in some capacity if you want to succeed in the game, but when the vets are guaranteed the first hoh, there's another rule in Big Brother, which is that you should also be working with the first HOH in some capacity at the beginning of the game. And so the fact that there were people in this house that did neither when those two things were combined is unfortunately a damning statement on, you know, their choices in that. In that first week. And they are all paying for it here, especially Jason, who I think had the best in to be working with that group and decided against it. Anyway, so we continue through the night here. There's more of this conversation. Drew, Melody and Lala talk for a while and. And there's this idea of like, you know, and Taylor's gonna talk to. To Kamu as well about like Lala and Taylor are like making moves and I'm loving it. Like, they're talking about Lala with Drew and Melody about working together. Jason joins them. That's when he talks about the sides again. He says that he wants Drew and Barrett to come over. He thinks maybe they can work with Devins. He had a long talk with Devins earlier in the day. He still wants to target Devin's in reality, but with when he's talking to Drew, he's talking about pulling Devin's in because he sort of recognizes that with Devin's could come Barrett. And so like, again, great reads like Jason out out of the blue is like clocking every. Every little thing. And this is potentially making his campaigns more effective, but could also make him seem a little more dangerous. Who knows? If I'm Drew and I'm thinking in the way that I think Drew is thinking, I'm definitely considering what Jason is saying in a way that's like, maybe he's more useful to me than I thought. Like Mallory is a little bit useful, but Jason might. Might be even more useful. And I think that's good. I think that means Jason's doing well. In fact, I don't think that it was intended this way, but Drew talks to Kamu at one point later in the day and he's. They're talking about how they feel like Jason might have the power. And Drew straight up says, call off the back door if he's got a power. Like, do we want to do that? I was like, no, I don't want to flush it anyway. Andrew's like, oh, yeah, that probably makes sense. I. It's just, you know, it's risky and, and that's not really the behavior of somebody that's really dedicated to wanting Jason out this week.
A
Yeah.
B
Like, so that was interesting to me.
A
Very. And I think there's, there's something like Drew being in this place where Kamu is in power versus one of the vets is in power, I think is showing him, you know, like you've been saying Dee and Angela have nobody to blame but themselves by letting him go. But I think that like comma, being in power is kind of showing him a world where maybe he doesn't have to be so dedicated to Angela and Dee and what that could look like for him and that there is a true path forward in that way for him. And something that I do just like feel like I have to bring up while we're talking about Drew and you know, the melody of it all is that there is a little bit of talk like later in the day that Melody might have like a situation at home. So everybody on Drew, Melody, sort of watch in terms of showmances, I think I saw a clip from like July 14th where melody really insinuated to Drew that she had a situation going on at home and that maybe she wasn't necessarily the most true, truthful with the producers about the fact that she was single.
B
They both planned to lie about being fully single. It became true for Drew. It's seemingly not still strictly true necessarily for Melody, but I, I think it's one of those like, it's kind of a little bit complicated situations. I would say at this point point from my estimation, there's definitely something there and that perhaps it is this other situation that is in part keeping anything from actually happening and might. That might stay the case for a while or for the entirety of the game, who knows? But, but, but what it is not seemingly is like a full on relationship at home. But. Yes, but, yes. But it's also something that she was being pretty hush hush about. So it's like we don't need to go too deep here.
A
Yeah. And I'm not trying to speculate on anything going on in her personal life. I just on the showmance watch for Druid Melody, like, that is a point. And maybe in the will they, won't they of the won't they category. That's all.
B
Yes. Also pretty telling in terms of casting that they knew to lie about this.
A
Yeah, exactly.
B
They get cast otherwise.
A
Yep.
B
All right, so. So Taylor. I mentioned that Taylor's also making moves. She talks to Karma. Remember, Taylor has a decent relationship with Kamu. It's why she's not on the block right now. She actually talks to Kamu about, like, workshopping a group that they could start up here that includes the two of them with Devin's and Mallory, and they kind of come on land on Drew as like, a five persony kind of deal. And obviously, you know, I think part of this is like, hey, because comments like, I don't know if Mallory wants to be in an alliance with me. It's like, well, this is good. This is a good idea because then Mallory's not coming for you. Right? Like, this is a good, good way to sort of, like, bond these people together. Is this a random grouping of people? 100%. Will it work? No, it will not. But I appreciate. I was literally, like, last week, I was saying, I like Taylor. She's got to get more active, and I feel like she's getting a lot more active now. Has that put a target on her back for Angela? Yes, But I do still like it, and it's kept her off the block this week because she was more active with her relationship with Kamu and. And, yeah, she's kind of late to the game here, and she's pitching alliances that will not work, but alliances that will not work work all the time. The committee was not supposed to work. You know, like, even the red corner with the crossovers was not supposed to work. But when you win competitions, you don't want to nominate people that you are in alliances with. And then if they win competitions, that alliance becomes real, and it's all of a sudden, hey, it's the, you know, the Loop de Loos. We're running this thing. That's how the Quack Pack happened. The Quack Pack wasn't supposed to be one of the most dominant alliances in the history of the show. It was supposed to be a joke. That's why they called it the Quack Pack now. Now we got to talk about the Quack Pack. It's one of the best alliances.
A
I just think, like, there's. And maybe this isn't the space for this, but there is a way to go about a random alliance, specifically with, like, approaching Mallory about This, like, there's a way to do it that is not being like, hey, what if we all get in a room together and talk? It's like, the way that you do it is who does Mallory have the best relationship with out of everybody in that group? Probably Drew. So you and Drew go to Mallory, and you say, mallory, we really, really want you to stay. Like, we really are working to stay. Pick us for the veto. Like, we want to work with you. That's how you, like, soft launch that you're on the same side. And then you bring Devin's into a conversation, and he's like, yeah, yeah, I really want you to win. To, like, what can we say to Kamu? What can we do? And then everybody goes to common together, and you get Common. Like, there's a way to, like, you have to, like, slow roll it with people who don't have relationships with each other at least a little bit if you want there to be any. Any possibility of something like this happening.
B
Yeah. Yes. And you have to. Yeah, you have to also, like, have a better idea of who's available for.
A
Yes, exactly. Exactly.
B
But they agree to talk about it more tomorrow, so we'll see if that happens. If Taylor follows up. Follows up. Obviously, I think Kamu is mostly just stalling, but. But again, like, there's a world where if Kamu maybe talks to Drew about this, Drew goes, oh, there's promise here. Maybe if we swap out, you know, at this point, I think he would include Devin's, which is probably the biggest issue of this entire thing. Maybe pull in melody. Like, there's a world where we could make something like this happen. Of course, this is how it's like Dapper Dan started with Yash. Yash was like, hey, I want to make this alliance. And they were all like, sure. And now all of a sudden, Yash is not. Is not an easy pawn anymore for a lot of those people. So I really. I like this. A lot of, like, people who are not in the mix of things, just kind of trying to start alliances because you're not gonna be mad at a person trying to start an alliance with you. Unless you really hate them, then you are gonna be mad, and you might step in some other stuff. Again, like, if Kamu brings this to Angela, Angela's gonna be pissed. And, like, yeah, that could be a problem. But, like, this is a spot where even when Angela was in an alliance with you and you were good with it, she wanted you gone because she gave you her. You gave her winner vibes. So it's like, yeah, you're damned if you do, you're damned if you don't, so you might as well do. And I, I like that Taylor's doing some stuff. Obviously. She just needs to refine the ideas totally.
A
And you know, as she told D, I've never played this game before. And he was like, neither have I. You know, like, she's new, she's learning, she's fig it out on the fly. And. But I do think she has good instincts in general, which is always something that we like to see in a big brother situation. Somebody who might not know as much as the other people or have as much experience, but is a good and fast learner.
B
So not much more for the rest of the night. Ultimately, Jason continues to spend more time with Drew and Melody, which is interesting. And there's more talk from Mallory with Lyric about, like, Drew and how he might have been the leak. But again, it's like, what are you gonna do? Like, he's not. I kind of need him. That is. That is the kind of thing, though, that, like, again, with Matt Hoffman, as a useful reference here is like, yeah, Matt had because. Because the Drew at Matt Hoffman comparisons are actually pretty decent in that he is too loyal to an alliance that is planning to turn on him eventually. And they think that he has too many outside connections. And the second he touches the block, those outside connections are going to be like, yeah, we get it. Yeah. So very dangerous for him there. But. But that's mostly the night here. Maggie, is there anything else that you wanted to bring up?
A
No, I feel like I was able to talk about kind of my overarching thoughts. I just really think. I know that Lyric might be in a little bit of danger moving forward, but also everybody playing in the veto, like, as of pretty much yesterday, wanted to use it on Lyric or like the plan would be to use it on Lyric. So I just think that I'm just on Lyric watch. I. She might be my client this season. I have faith and her ability. And just because she's not playing the way that we usually see doesn't mean that she's not playing. I. I think that the people in the house are underestimating her. And I think that that happens a lot. That's happening a lot in the fandom too. And I, I'm. I'm strong Lyric. I think Lyric has strong upside.
B
I agree. I'm very interested to see where she goes. One other thing I had forgotten to mention earlier. Devin's winning this power. We know you go in the room, you got a spinny chair, you got the screens. We joked about how it's like the game show, press your luck that famously a man was able to game, like, figure out the system and Angela seemingly just kind of like pressed the button. Devin said he studied the pattern and was able to land on exactly where he wanted to land. So this is gameable if you do it right and he's told D about how to do it right. So that's worth considering for sure.
A
I also think that I would be shocked if D wins it next week based on just how hard the vets are dominating.
B
It really depends on the edits, I would say. Yeah, it really depends on how things are edited. But. But I. I don't think. I would say. At the very least, I don't think D is a given to win it by any means, nor would I have thought so in the first place. She's not been the most prominent person in the edit to begin with. So. We'll see. We'll see. All right, that is what we have for you today, of course. I'll be back tomorrow morning, 11am Eastern, to update on everything that happens today on the big brother 28 live feeds. Of course, I'll. I also, we learned about the rest of the powers last night. I guess we should maybe briefly at least mention the basics are the rest of them are not that great in comparison.
A
They're lame.
B
The best one seems to be the coin of Destiny, Claire's power from season 23 where you, Mr. Beast, flip a coin. And this really should have been definitely.
A
Obviously I understand why he picked diamond power of veto, but they put it in there for him, obviously.
B
Yeah. I mean, not that he had. He did not have a choice. For the record. You just. You get the one that you land on. But. But you flip a coin, if you call the right side, you take over the person's HOH. It's like a. It's like a 50, 50 coup d'. Etat. So obviously also very powerful. You can also use this as leverage in a considerable way, especially if it lasts the same or a similar amount of length of time. But the 50, 50 nature of it is better odds than. Than what the Diamond Power Vita will give you. Like 33 at best. Best for. For our stuff like that. And. And then there's like. There's like, oh, you can win HOH back to back. That's. That's a terrible power. It's not a very good power, just like on its own, like, for. If you're a player you're like, okay, great. I have another 1 in 15 chance of winning HOH. Like it's useful. It's. But it's not very, it's not anywhere close to diamond power veto levels. And on top of that, it's just bad television. Nobody, nobody, even the biggest fan favorite, nobody wants to see the same person as HOH two times in a row. How can we not, how can we learn this lesson? Please, please. Then there's like I have never not pass which obviously has very little use in the game. And, and, and what else I, I, the sub in you can use. Like the what Kayanu used with Casey to compete for him in the veto competition was the final power there, which I, I, that's my favorite power of the bunch. I think that's perfectly like it's a reasonable power to have. It's fun television that. More of those, please.
A
Yes. I'm just excited that the unitard may be back.
B
The red unitard is potentially back. That is one of the punishments. Yeah.
A
I'm so excited. I know it's Jen Johnson's but I just can't help but think of Michelle, her crash out over the unitard.
B
Yes. And I did forget the, the bribe power as well. So I believe this could theoretically be like the, the big brother 10. Like you have cash, like old bars, whatever it was to like bribe people with. I, I would assume it's more like the Zach Power from last season where it's a forced bribe. It's just like safety that you give the person you get safety from like 5 to $10,000 for. So they did seem to not quite escalate in power, but like those, those bottom three were the more powerful ones, but this is the weakest of the more powerful ones for sure. All right, we don't need to go over the punishments because I already told you that I was gonna end this podcast. We can talk about them another time potentially. But, but that is what I have for you today. Again tomorrow morning. I'll be back tomorrow night. We will have the Sunday night episode of Big Brother. We'll see the HOH competition, the Power. Devin's winning the power. Maybe some more details. Now here's the thing. I thought for sure Devin's had to be wrong about it lasting six weeks. But if you had been wrong, they would have told him to correct the record with D. Did not tell him to correct the record with D. So it implies he is correct that this is just a fully six week long power. We'll see that happen in the episode, though. We'll see the nominations. And in the meantime, check out all the other stuff we got going on. Find me on Twitch and Patreon, doing live feed streams and stuff like that. Maggie, what do you got going on?
A
Sure, you can find me on Instagram and Blue sky or Instagram and Tick Tock at ML Morgan. Underscore on Blue Sky. Just ML Morgan talking Big Brother. Oh, and I'll be in, um, Milwaukee for Rhapcon.
B
Yes, yes, Milwaukee. Gonna be a good time. My computer is, by the way, been terrible this whole time. I've been trying to. Been trying to hide it as much as possible. There have been multiple times that Maggie's been talking and my mic has been muted and I haven't been able to fix it. And I've been like, I hope she keeps talking. And it's mostly worked well.
A
Good thing I'm a yapper. Let's end the podcast before Taryn goes away again and I have to end it myself.
B
All right, thank you all so much for joining us. I will see all of you next time. What if I told you you only have 12 hours to legally have sex?
A
To Finding True Love or just Like a Good Guy.
B
From the director of Easy A and Anyone but you.
A
This whole thing is nuts.
B
There's nothing traditional about this night. On August 7th, the clock starts on the summer's biggest romcom.
A
I'm Owen.
B
Ally. What about you and me? Monica Barbaro. Callum Turner. I've been told I'm a seven.
A
By who? Your mom?
B
No, she thinks I'm a ten. One night only. Rated R. Only in theaters August 7th.
Hosted by Taran Armstrong and joined by guest Maggie, this episode offers a comprehensive breakdown of Big Brother 28's live feeds from Day 18 (July 24th), with the game heating up post-nominations. Key topics include Kamu’s reign as HOH, shifting alliances and suspicions, heated nominee discussions, Devins winning a potentially game-breaking Diamond Power of Veto, and evolving strategic dynamics among houseguests. The hosts analyze gameplay and provide lively commentary on the social fabric, paranoia, and potential game outcomes.
"If I was on the other end of that conversation, hearing I was going up, and my platitude is that I'm eye candy... That would not make me feel better."
— Maggie ([08:33])
“We’re getting insights on these alliances... stuff like Handymen, Honor Society—these are things that might never make the show.”
— Taran ([04:43])
“People that are close to her. So think about the people that you've been having conversations with that you're close to... boogeyman type stuff.”
— Maggie ([10:39])
“It did feel genuine in the moment, but Jason is going to pretty quickly seem to recognize... just because I'm not going up today doesn't mean I'm not going up later.”
— Taran ([23:53])
“Diamond Power of Veto is so much more powerful than that... it makes the God idol look like little brother, little baby idol.”
— Taran ([36:23])
“If you think Rick Devins is going to dilute the power of his TV moment... I do not think that.”
— Maggie ([40:44])
“Random alliances that will not work, work all the time... The Quack Pack wasn’t supposed to be one of the most dominant alliances in the history of the show.”
— Taran ([68:38])
“If you're told you're going up as a pawn… push, push, push. And then accept, please don't evict me.”
— Taran ([25:24])
“I think this is the most overpowered power in the history of the show. I think it tops the coup d'etat.”
— Taran ([36:23])
“If you think that Rick Devins is going to dilute the power of his TV moment… I do not think that.”
— Maggie ([40:44])
“The Quack Pack wasn’t supposed to be one of the most dominant alliances in the history of the show. It was supposed to be a joke.”
— Taran ([68:38])
“They're lame.” — Maggie, on alternate powers ([74:00])
The episode is energetic, lightly snarky, and loaded with deep Big Brother references. Maggie and Taran blend fandom glee, strategic analysis, and gentle roasting of houseguest missteps. Maggie is notably bullish on Lyric's gameplay, while Taran keeps a sober, rules-oriented focus on the game-breaking potential of the Diamond Power of Veto.
This update was packed with shifting game dynamics as the house fractures post-Rome, highlighted by the massive twist of Devins' 6-week Diamond Power of Veto. Expect major moves and shifting alliances as the vets' stranglehold faces its first real threat—and eyes turn to under-the-radar players like Lyric and to wildcards like Taylor and Mallory.
For further house moves, alliance tests, and the next power struggle, tune in to tomorrow’s live feed update.
