Every morning, Jared Armstrong talks Big brother. Looking at the from yesterday, all the drama, all the strategy and silliness from VO2HOH every single season, you know, he is the reason, you know what's happening. Rob said that he could do it tomorrow. He will do it again. Hello, everyone and good morning. Welcome to our live feed update for 7-8-19th. I'm your host, Darren Armstrong and I'm here to update you on everything that happened yesterday on the big brother 28 live feeds. It was day 12 in the house and we had a veto competition. We have a veto winner. We have plans for the veto and a lot of stuff in between as well. With me to talk about it all. Mary, how you doing, Mary?
A
I'm doing well. Excited to be here for my first live feed update of the season. It's, you know, it's been a fun season so far and I feel like every time I think, oh, maybe it'll. It'll settle down just a little bit for today. Not, not really. It's. It's just kind of full steam ahead.
B
It definitely felt like it would settle down. Of course, Friday night into Saturday morning is, as I mentioned last week, kind of like a lull in the proceedings because the veto competition is imminent and it doesn't really make a lot of sense to make a lot of plans until the veto competition happens. However, once the veto competition does happen, things can get interesting. So let's talk about it. Of course, Devins is the hoh. He nominated Jason, Lyric and Melody with the intention of backdooring Rome. That fallout continues to kind of play out in the morning, but for the most part, as I was mentioning, mentioning before, it's. It's mostly just kind of like people lying low in preparation for the veto. The big thing, of course, that I mentioned yesterday is the draw. The veto draw is incredibly important. If Rome is picked to play in the veto, he can win the veto, use it on lyric force. Somebody like Lala or something on the block would maybe be the idea. And then, oh, now Jason could win the blockbuster. And now your. Your targets are really looking slim in terms of who you're actually able to get out after declaring war. So will Rome get picked for the veto is the big question on everyone's mind when the feeds come back from the draw, though. He was not picked play.
A
No, he was not. And. And I think that this is like an underrated. It seems obvious on the surface, but we don't hear people talk about it a lot. But it's an underrated reason to try and do one of these types of backdoors earlier on when there's just more people to be picked up. The large. The longer you go in the season, the more likely it is that Rome would be picked in this scenario. So it's like, yes, that that was definitely a factor and there were all these contingency plans and possibilities, but. Or it could result in something like this where we come back and the people picked are Angela and Barrett.
B
Angela and Barrett. Which basically guarantees that it roam's going up on the block. There's. There's very little chance here that. And like, basically somebody would need to change their minds as someone. As things are currently set, the veto will be used and Rome will go on the block.
A
Yeah. Or somebody like Lyric would have to win and choose not to use it.
B
Right.
A
Which unlikely. I mean, look, true love is true love. But like this early in the game. I don't know.
B
Yes. So there are a few conversations that happen prior to the veto competition, but again, it is pretty slow. The biggest one being or one of the bigger ones being Rome talking to Drew up in the gym. Rome is asking Drew about Melody. You got a little crush on Melody? You got a little crush on Melody? Drew's kind of like, why. No, no, no. I mean, she's. She's older anyway. She does. She wouldn't be interested. She's 24. He's 22.
A
I was gonna say. I was like, I'm pretty sure it's still within legal realm.
B
It's. It's not only. It's. It's like, it's pretty. She's old. In. In Rome's like, I've dated like a 35 year old. What do you mean?
A
Also not like. I mean the kind of weird flex, but like, okay, I guess. Big age gap relationships in the big brother house, though.
B
Yeah. Rome says he will keep. He will keep Drew's secret about Melody. But he does. He does have a secret of his own. You know. You know what? You know what, Drew? I'm gonna. I'm gonna tell you a secret I've been keeping the whole time. My name's not Rome. What is it? It's Jack. Oh.
A
Oh, my gosh. Wow.
B
What.
A
What a. What a crazy reveal. I Feel like I know you so much better now.
B
Yeah. He does tell the story of how he got the name, which is that basically he was picked on a lot as a kid. He was. But he was very good at video games. So one day he invited the cool kids at school to play Xbox in an Xbox LIVE party. And they joined the party and they went, hey, hey Jack. Hey Jack. You know where Rome is? Italy. You know what shape Italy is? A boot. And then they kicked him out of the party.
A
That's so mean.
B
Oh, that happened all the time on Xbox Live back in the day. Probably still happens. I don't play anymore.
A
Maybe this is just, this is why I played solely single player or at home with my family. They can't kick me out of the room with that kind of joke. Yeah, I wasn't doing that, but so hold on. Catch me up. So that is the backstory. And so he decided to go by Rome. So this was like a negative nickname they gave me.
B
His, his friends who heard this story were like, oh, that's like, oh it's, that's. You're. It's your Rome. Hahaha. Funny story. And, and so they like to call him Rome.
A
Okay.
B
As a joke.
A
I mean, look, I, I really can't talk. Like, my nickname is Frail Mary. So like that's not extremely positive. So I don't know how to help this.
B
Yeah. So anyway, that is, that is the. Yeah. Nicest Xbox Live interaction ever. It's. I mean, this is my experience as a 34 year old who played Xbox Live back in the day when it first came out. And that is very much in line with like, like that was, it's a, it's a thing to get people to say boot and then kick them from the party. It is a mean thing to do, but it was very much a thing. So there you go. The origin story of, of Rome's name. He also says, and I actually like agree with this, that like, you know, he's going on the show as Rome, but his name is Jack. So like people who know him only from the show will know him as Rome and he'll be able to completely like separate that part of himself from his, his real self, which I think is smart.
A
What if, what if Drew was like, and my name is Andrew and everyone outside of this calls me Andy, but. But I've decided to go by Drew.
B
He did. He basically, he was like Rome, I have a secret to tell you. My real name is Andrew.
A
This isn't, I don't know, it was a Joke. Does this win dumbest reveal of like, a secret or.
B
No, I'm still fond of secret mathematician.
A
Yeah.
B
Personally.
A
Yeah. I mean, that one's funnier.
B
Anyway, they do continue to talk about secrets after this. And Drew says, I am. I'm sure somebody in here is a secret lawyer. And. And Rome is like, it's definitely not Lyric. She's a singer. Her dad's a singer. So.
A
Yeah, her name is Lyric.
B
Yeah. All right. So the morning continues. Devin's Drew and Dee are having a conversation, but this is like a general sentiment that continues through the day that they remain concerned about. Like, especially Devin's is really concerned about this idea that, like, he's making this big move for the tool shed and he's putting up. He's going to be putting up Rome theoretically now, especially now that the nominations are. Or the veto competition is pretty much locked for everybody that's going to use it. But he's like, they'd better not screw me on this. If I put up Rome and they don't send Rome home, I'm going to be pissed. And he's worried about this because K's been spending a lot of time talking to Rome and they have these, like, fellow Alpha conversations and, and it feels like Camus, like, is he really going to send Rome out? They're a little bit concerned about this. Chuck and Haley have even expressed a little bit of concern about this, but the fact that Chuck and Haley have expressed concern about it has actually reassured the. The crossovers alliance because it means that Chuck and Haley are still pretty firmly locked on board to send Rome out. So, so that is still like a, A running theme through a good portion of the day. It doesn't really go anywhere but worth pointing out.
A
Yeah. Yeah. And I, I mean, I, I think this is like a. It's, it's good to worry when you're doing a backdoor to make sure. But I don't know, maybe, do I. Do I naively feel like you would be able to suss out beforehand if, if people had changed their opinion to where they wouldn't follow through with this? Especially because Devin's, like, a little worried about Angela. When was Angela's idea to do this? From the start. So, yeah. I don't know. I feel like at that point you can basically just say the next week, like, this wasn't even my idea. Y' all can get mad at me all you want.
B
But yes, I mean, I think. Right. To be concerned because people, you know, and for instance, he was like, it's Weird that Angela and Jason were so mad at each other during the Sarah during the nomination ceremony and then by the end of it they were hugging and it's like you never want to be on the wrong side of like, oh yeah, you're mad at this person. Let's go to war. Wait, you're back together with them already? Hold on now. I'm, I declared I'm getting in trouble now. But in this instance so far his, his concern is, is not Warren.
A
Yeah, yeah. At this point plus I, I and from the other perspective, if you do get go to war with somebody, it's, it's almost like if you're, if you're mad at someone, you kind of need to make your allies continue thinking you're mad at them even if you make up. Unless, unless this is a situation where you want your allies to start working with them. You need to like reinforce that anger. Otherwise they will start getting suspicious if you don't stay consistent. Really? Consistency is key in all of these.
B
Yes. Well, in preparation for the veto competition which is now imminent, Melody has a funny moment in the gym as she is talking about like this stupid Devins. It's a 42 year old guy. Go, go back. Go home. You know what? You know what? You know what, Melody? I believe in myself. The veto is mine. I can do this. I am Melody Morris. I can do it. I can do.
A
Yeah. I saw this first without sound and I was a little confused. I thought she was just like working out or I figured that there was like music or something and then, and then when I, when I watched it again with sound, I was like, oh, it's a pep talk. Okay, cool.
B
She can do it. She can do it. Mary do it. She doesn't do it.
A
She can.
B
She didn't. Melody did not win the veto. We get to the veto competition. The veto comes. The feeds come back from the veto. Melody, despite her pep talks, did not win her pep talks and Haley's pep tides did not win the veto competition because Rick Devins won the veto competition hoh and veto in the same week.
A
Just. Does Rick Devins really like puzzles?
B
He might, he might really like. He really, I mean he might like buzzers even more probably.
A
That checks out.
B
Yes. So some interesting stuff went down. This was a puzzle, although it was a puzzle with like I think large pieces. Lyric mentioned having difficulty carrying the heavy puzzle pieces. But, but Angela did pretty decently as well here. So I'm not sure that was a super big concern. However, this ultimately apparently this is according to how People tell. Told the story of what happened. We'll see the truth of it in the episode. Of course, Jason came incredibly close. Apparently what happened was Jason actually completed his puzzle first, went to go hit the buzzer to finish the competition and win, but paused before he hit the buzzer to look at his finished puzzle. I assume to double check to make sure everything was fine. And in that time that he paused before hitting the buzzer, Devin's runs over hits his wins instead. That's rough.
A
I hope. I hope it's that dramatic and I hope that they could see each other while this was happening, like that they weren't in lanes or something, but that they could see each other. If true, devastating for Jason, especially considering
B
he, you know, is a very likely backup target if Rome wins the blockbuster. Like this is like a very necessary
A
comp to win and hate Stevins. So kind of a insult to injury situation here. Yeah, that's wild. I believe, as far as I know, most of the time, the hitting the buzzer, it's like if it's. If it, if your puzzle is wrong, then you would just fix it. It's not like, oh, you now have a penalty or something from getting it wrong. So, yeah, I would just. I would just hit the button. Future note for. For future Big Brother players, don't hesitate when it comes to that.
B
Devin's later says rookie mistake. Yeah, mistake.
A
Yeah, rookies. Just to pause real quick because I know that like, a lot of different terms have been going on. Like, are we sticking with icons universally? Like, I prefer vets, and I know they're not all vets of Big Brother, but like vet or vets of reality games. And they're not all returning players for Big Brother, so I wouldn't say that.
B
Yeah, I use vets. They more often use icons. But icons is a longer word to say and.
A
And more subjective.
B
Yeah, Vets just feels easier to me in the same way that I don't like toolshed. Don't like it.
A
Yeah, it's. It's not great.
B
I've actually got some. Some stuff to say about tool shed later.
A
Oh, okay. Great.
B
Interesting stuff. Some mysteries that maybe somebody else knows that I don't know, but I don't know. It's. I got to figure it out.
A
Okay.
B
Anyway, Devin's with the HOH and the veto. This is not normally what I would advise under most circumstances. If you are the hoh, ideally, you don't also have to win the veto. People tend to remember more like you can win a single hoh, lose the veto. And then you know, nobody's gonna think you're like a massive big threat necessarily. Veto competitions, despite being easier to win because there's only five other competitors versus the, the amount of competitors you have during an HOH competition, they tend to linger in the minds of, of the other players more. I think in large part because when you win the veto, you have won the most recent competition in the past for a longer period of time. You win the HOH and then somebody steals your glory and wins the veto two days later. And so the veto holder feels like the more impressive competitor because they're the more recent winner more often. So people are still looking at Mallory as they're calling her the Pipe Queen because of that's.
A
That's not great. Maybe. Let's roll that one back. Can we workshop that a little? Does it have to be the Pipe
B
Queen all over the house? And listen, I think genuinely, in part because Mallory and Melody is, is annoying, they're getting it wrong all the time in there.
A
I think I would rather have people mistake my name for another person then go by the Pipe Queen.
B
I guess just don't win Caller Piper or something better than yeah, but, but,
A
but on the veto thing, like, so, Taryn, in this scenario, if, if let's assume Devin sees who's winning and sees that Jason is in the lead, I still think it's probably better that Devins wins over Jason.
B
Right. And that's, that's sort of what I was getting at. That ultimately, like, this is a spot where he has to choose. Do I want to let Jason win this, make the week a little bit harder for me, or take it myself? And considering the fact that he's probably got some powers heading his way, I'm not as mad at Devin's taking this necessarily, though ideally you've put yourself in a position where you don't have to. The fact that Jason was so ahead in the comp or so that Jason was basically about to win, you know, kind of, kind of does put them in a tough spot here to, to intentionally throw. But ultimately Devin's. In my comments about the, about Pipe Queen as well is that people are basically like, oh, wow, if Mallory were in this competition, she would have crushed it. She would have beat everybody because she's so good at puzzles, because she won one veto. And so like, that reputation tends to stick. And I guarantee you now people are going to be talking about Devin's being really good at puzzles. And people are also talking about Jason being really good at competitions considering he Won safety in the first week, and he came so close to winning this veto. So that also is going to have some major impact potentially on not only the season, but this week in general.
A
Okay. Of the four things, HOH veto, whatever the blockbuster thing is called, and the winning, like, an America's vote power, of those four, can you rank them in terms of which one you think is the most threatening to. Least threatening to. To win?
B
I mean, it's. It's never going to be like the same always in every season necessarily. But I. The veto is the competition that, like, ideally, honestly, because, like, the veto has the. The worst power for the most amount of like, heat. Heat. It has the worst ratio. I would say winning blockbuster is like, is like, fine, but, like, you know, it's. It's also very new. It's hard to exactly gauge what that gets you in terms of, like, how much heat it gets you. It's usually just like, oh, somebody's won a blockbuster. Great. I'll. I'll nominate them again so that they can win a blockbuster against my target. It's like winning an HOH also, of course, tends to put some heat on you, but you get so much in return compared to the veto. You get to nominate so much time
A
to, like, workshop with other people and stuff.
B
Yeah. So, you know, that's why people are always like, I'll throw the hoh. I'll win the veto. I. I think it's completely the other way around. Win the hoh throw. Throw the veto. Although don't throw the veto if you have any chance of being nominated or
A
if you're already on the block, obviously.
B
Right. Yes. So Devin's with the veto and. And Lyric is now in a position where it's like, so the plan should obviously be at this point and kind of is Melody gets vetoed. She's already willing to kind of jump ship from the Rome crew and join as a straggler in. In the tool shed alliance. So you pull her off the block. You put Rome on the block. It's Rome, Lyric and Jason. You can't miss at that point. You're getting either Rome or Jason the comp threat or Lyric the showmance. Like, you're. You're. You're completely, solidly in this. You win favor with Melody. It makes a lot of sense. However, Lyric obviously doesn't want to take that lying down. And her and Rome are talking about, like, how can we get Devin's to use the veto on you, Lyric instead of essentially anybody else, and. And kind of what they come up with is a continuation of the plan they've already been putting in place, which is let's pretend that we're kind of broken up. No touching, no cuddling with each other, but touch and cuddle with others. Perhaps talk about how like, you know, I'm dead weight, say that I should be on the block instead of you and, and all this stuff. And then, you know, like, we'll be really grateful if, if Devin's uses the veto on, on you instead of Melody. Like they're, they're throughout the day kind of talking through this plan that like, obviously, like, you know, we give them credit. Like, of course you got to keep trying. We appreciate that they're trying, but obviously this shouldn't work.
A
Yeah, it shouldn't work. Especially because of the like, Melody and Drew of it all as well.
B
Right? Yeah. I mean, Drew's got the connection to Melody. It's. There's just a no brainer that you're able to pull Melody in. If you, if you took Lyric off the block now all of a sudden the showmance might stay in the game, still be pissed at you and you've pissed off Melody who's now locked in with the showmance again and, or you take out Melody and leaving Jason the comp threat who's locked in with the show. Like, it's just, there's not a lot of upside here unless you just fully fall for their like broken up will make a deal with you kind of ploy. But you know, we've seen it happen before.
A
Yeah. Yes. But I mean, I, I think, I think we can all agree this isn't going to work. It's. Yeah, it's.
B
But Lyric kind of gets to work right away and let me tell you, she, she's, she's pretty quickly effective with the flirt with other people strategy as she's hanging out in the hot tub room with Yash and Chuck and she's, she's just like lying there on their legs like as you do. You know
A
the moment where, where Chuck like puts his arm around her and he's like, I has his arm up. He's like, I don't know what to do with my hand. Like, what's, what's allowed here.
B
Yes. And you know, she's so immediately effective with Chuck as well, who's like, this is working. This is. He's later like, oh yeah, I'm, I'm just like flirting with her a little bit to kind of piss off Rome. It's been pretty, pretty fun. And it's like, ah, you're the one falling into this trap, sir.
A
Oh, my goodness. I, I, I am trying to think of what the right, like, comparison for this is, but there, there is a bit of this, like, concept of, like, oh, like, I can see. I can see Lyric flirting with Rome from the outside, like, whatever. And then she starts doing it with you, and she's like, but this is, this isn't a trick. This is different. This is real. Probably right. She probably really likes me.
B
Yes. So she doesn't only get to work on the men either, though she talks to D as well, who, remember, she did have a pretty good relationship with the. The week before, and she pitches D on this idea of, like, shouldn't it be Rome on the block instead of me? Like, I, I just, like, it's his. He's the one that did everything wrong. Like, I don't deserve to go down with that ship indeed. Buys this hook, line, and sinker. She's like, oh, yes, you're totally. She's like, these lyrics separating herself from Rome, like, they're, they're kind of breaking up a little bit. These, like, I'll absolutely. In lyrics, like, please, like, would you talk to. To Devin's for me? I would be so grateful. And she's like, yeah, I'll talk to Devin's. I'll, I'll. I'm gonna do my best to make sure he uses it on you instead of, Instead of anybody else. And she said, oh, thank you so much, D. And it's like, what Lyric is. Is, like, making moves here. But it's okay. This is D. She had a good prior relationship with the. Maybe D has some incentive to do this. Okay, sure.
A
Well, the other, the other thing is. And this is not explicitly stated, so this is just like, me guessing here, but, like, it is a thing where you know, to, like, oh, to hurt the showmance will, like, take out the. The girl portion of the showmance. Right? And I do think that, like, this is, like, a, A nice. This could be good for Dee, especially if Dee is considering at all, at any future time being in any kind of showmance situation. Like, this might be a good. What has happened? Hold on. Delivered a note. Hold on. What do you get from a pampered cow? Spoiled milk.
B
Thank you.
A
Thanks for that.
B
Is this a. Is somebody crawling on your floor passing you notes?
A
Anyway, that was a frail daddy appearance podcast. Anyway, what was I talking about?
B
I don't know, but I wish I knew exactly which update it was that. He closed your.
A
It was this room. It was this room when he crawled behind and closed the curtains for me. Anyway. Sorry. Yeah.
B
Anyway, so Showman might have some incentive to keep the showmance around.
A
Yes. This might be. This might be a good idea to set the precedent of if there's a showmance, don't just target the girl because it might be easier.
B
Anyway, the image of, like, straight out of a horror movie, somebody like just the tail end of them crawling out of your room was very, very funny. All right, so Mallory also is going to talk with Lyric. Lyric explains the plan that she's got to Mallory. Mallory explains to Lyric that she is a vote to keep Mallory over Melody in the instance that they end up on the block together. So Mallory is much more on board with Lyric and that whole side than. Than Melody and certainly the other side. We're going to hear a lot more from Mallory later as well. Rome and Lyric again continue to talk. Keep pretending to flirt with other people. Oh, it's like, oh, yeah. And then like, be like, oh, we'd be so grateful if they. If you use the veto on us. And so they. They talk through this more. And then Lyric goes up and talks to Devin and it's actually a pretty quick conversation. And basically she just. A good portion of it's cut. But. But she basically promises to keep him safe if he uses the veto. I would never. I will never nominate if you use the veto on. And I'd be so grateful. Devins. And he goes, wow, I'm. I'm actually so surprised to hear that. I. I wouldn't have expected this at all. And unlike my unavoidable sarcasm when I say that he means it.
A
Yeah. Yeah, he does me. Wow. Out of the three of you, I. I think I believe you the most.
B
Yeah, he. He cannot believe that she would say anything that she needed to say to get the veto used.
A
Do you think this is one of those examples of just like the, The. The aura in the room is. Is something that we just can't relate to from watching it.
B
I think honestly that a huge portion of this is just a vast underestimation of Lyric as a person and player. You know, she talk is really coming
A
back to help here.
B
Exactly. And. And this they. They explicitly mention. Well, they're like, Lyric is basically nothing in the game. Like, Melody is a much better player. Ma. Mallory is a much better player. Lyric is. Has done nothing. She doesn't talk game. She doesn't do anything. And so the fact that she's talking any amount of game, they're like, oh, must just be telling the truth, because she doesn't game this Lyric. And of course, this is incredibly wrong. In fact, the. The ease with which she has sort of snowed almost the entire house in one day kind of implies quite the opposite. But after Lyric leaves the room, Devins is like, why do I believe her?
A
Why do you, Devons, I would love to know. Why do you believe her?
B
Yeah. Yeah. And then after this happens as well, Haley and Chuck both come up and guess separately, but yes. And guess what they're pitching. Hey, we were both kind of independently thinking, what if you took Lyric off the block? Because Chuck's making some great progress on her. And Chuck is like, I'm making some great progress on her.
A
So I'm thinking, perfect scenario is that Rome goes, and now he's got options
B
with Lyric, and yet none of that has to do anything with anything about taking her off the block.
A
No. Yeah, it's. It's like, Was it last season when somebody had a plan? Yeah, it was. It was one of these Vince plans where, like, nothing about the plan made sense, but they kept talking about it, and it made it, like, seem like it made sense.
B
It's like, because you couldn't. You can't do one for one. You can only do two for one, right?
A
Yes. Yes. This is a real one for one, two for one scenario here, like, where it's like, yeah, okay, we should keep lyrics understood. You've got lots of great reasons for that. We don't need to take her off the block, though. She has not at this point. Besides, just, like, if you take me off the block, I'll protect you. Which basically anyone would say in that scenario, like, what is she actually offering that you couldn't get by just leaving her on the block?
B
Yeah, I guess we'll potentially find out. But after Haley and Chuck come in, Dee comes in, and guess what Dee's pitching. I think maybe lyrics should come off the block. It devices. I was thinking that too.
A
It cannot be expressed how quickly this whole thing has happened.
B
Also so quick. It's. It's. And, like, you know, Lyric's been laying the groundwork, and they came up with this plan in the first place. But it just. I mean, she's so. She has these. She has one conversation with each of these people, and they're all convinced that she should come off the block, even though they never planned to, like, evict her in the first place. Or, like, the plan is still always. It's. It's Rome is evicted or Jason is Evicted. It's just like, yeah, but we want to do Lyrica solid and take her off the block.
A
And the biggest question here, which, which does come up and you're probably about to get to it. But. But like, that means that we're not taking Melody off the block.
B
Yes, yes. We don't like Melody that much.
A
But. But on the cert, you know, I mean, I assume they know because, like, other people have caught it. I assume they know that. That Drew is close with Melody and that this would potentially be a negative thing for their alliance members.
B
Mary, that's a positive for them. This is a selling point, is that they want to piss off Drew.
A
It's like if this was further in the game where it's like, okay, Drew has too much power. We needed to. We need to hurt Melody. Like, that would be someone understandable. But just, just to reiterate, they don't plan on voting Melody out.
B
Right.
A
So you're hurting her and you're hurting Drew and you're pissing them off but not getting rid of her.
B
See, Mary, I feel like a half
A
assed in the wrong direction.
B
I feel like you didn't watch Jared closely enough in season 25. He. Because he really explained it well, that sometimes you just need to like, send people a message, you know, like, like telling Corey, I'm re. I'm gonna nominate America. She's. She just needs to stay up on the block as a bit of a lesson. And, and obviously Corey at that point, who had been talking about letting America go, is going to be fine with that. He's just gonna take it lying down. And this feels very similar to me. I feel like this is. I feel like you're. You're being too critical of this.
A
It's the old, the old Godfather move of let's, let's just threaten them a little, make sure they know their place. That's exactly how you win allies. Oh, this whole thing is so dumb. Let's scoop up Lyric maybe, who we know has lots of other allies. Melody, who we already know is on the outs with certain people and already kind of wants to be in with us. Let's hurt her.
B
Yeah, yeah.
A
This makes tons of sense.
B
So they're talking about this. They're talking about this. They say that, you know, Melody is a much better player than Lyric, therefore she should stay on the block instead of Lyric, even though, again, we don't really plan to evict her. Angela comes in in the egg costume
A
and so funny shout. I mean, I know it's been stated but thank you so much for bringing that back. Oh, my God.
B
And they. They start pitching this. They're like, we're thinking about taking Lyric off the block. And Angela's like, what? That doesn't make any sense. And I was like, oh, thank God for Angela. With her big brother experience, she actually understands that you shouldn't take off the showmance. Lyric's a number for him to say, especially because Devin's is concerned about the numbers to take Chrome out. He's like, no, if you take Lyric off the block, then that's a number for him. That's a vote for him to stay. And then what if Rome wins the blockbuster and now they're both together? And Devin's like, yeah, I get that. But wouldn't we rather leave Mallory Melody on the block? Because isn't Drew too close to her? No, that's actually a great idea.
A
No. Angela, we had so much faith. Again, you're setting. You have to think about you. To think about this in reverse. Everybody should use a little bit of, like, do on to others as you want them to do unto you. That. Is that this phrase? Close enough. Whatever. Let's set the precedent, shall we, that it's a good thing to try and target our allies. Allies. I'm. Surely Drew won't get mad about this and use this against me at a future point in time. Surely not.
B
Of course not. Especially because, like, you know, she's on the block. What is he gonna do? Keep her like we plan to and then have her be mad at us? Got him.
A
Haha. Yeah.
B
This is.
A
This is. Oh, my gosh. It's like. It's like there are three brain cells rubbing together, like, and I know it. While you're in it, it's probably hard to take a step back and look at it, but I would just want one of them to just, like, think for a second ago. Wow. We all had such a plan and within such a short period of time. We all want something different from Lyric. It's almost like Lyric might have actually done a good move here and is playing the game, and maybe that actually is threatening. It's like, I think Rob mentioned this, or one of the two of you mentioned this on the. The Big Brother other podcast. You do the other one where. Yeah, that other one where you were talking about, like, sometimes it's hard to see that if you're. If you have people on the block. What. What did Rob say? It was like, the hardest person to get rid of is the one you should be targeting because that Means that, like, most people want to keep them, basically. And it's, it's also, it could be the reverse of that. The person who's the easiest to get rid of is probably actually no threat for you to get rid of. And this is kind of one of those same scenarios of, like, if multiple people come up to you and want to keep the same all of a sudden and you start finding yourself being swayed by it. It's like you need to somehow have the ability to take a step back and say, why am I being swayed by this? Why is everyone else all of a sudden on board with this separate plan? It's almost like something happened and something shifted and someone started playing who wasn't previously. And maybe that's actually dangerous. You always want to be in a position of trying to get a person out that is good for you to get out and maybe bad for other people too, but they don't realize it.
B
Yes. And that's in part why, like, they, they've even softened a little bit on the Jason move. The idea that, like, well, Jason's been so destroyed in the game, nobody trusts Jason anymore. Maybe we don't even, like, it's because. And they're thinking primarily in terms of the fact that they're keeping Jason over Rome. Obviously Rome is going to leave and Jason's going to stay. And that's fine because Jason's, you know, been completely, you know, nobody trusts Jason anymore. And I was thinking prior to all this nonsense that there probably would be and still could be some debate back and forth of whoever else is left, either Melody or Lyric, that if Rome wins the Blockbuster, people might start to wonder, should we take Jason out or should we take Lyric out because she's in the showmance with Rome, or should we take Melody out because she's too close to Drew or whatever. But either one of those things, I mean, Melody in particular, just continues to leave in all of Jason, Lyric, Rome, like that's also a bad thing for them unless they fully are able to trust that despite giving Rome his word and immediately going back on it, that Rome would be willing to stick to a deal they made to take Lyric off the block and theoretically maybe then evict Melody over Jason or something, you know, with the assumption that if Rome hadn't won the blockbuster, he would. But basically, you know, and Angela pitches this. Well, you could make like a two week deal with Rome that if you take off Lyric, if he stays, that he would then not put you up. And it's just like if, if you're only if the only world where this plan works is if your opponents are incredibly bad at the game and willing to like because who else are they targeting at that point? Just the red corner people. And leaving. Leaving Devins, who has won multiple competitions, leaving D, leaving Angela, who they blame for this whole thing in the first place, completely untouched. To get to continue to gather powers over the next coming weeks. Like you really think they're gonna do that? And hey, maybe, maybe they do. And if they do, then they're incredibly bad players. But like, you know, you're kind of banking on that fact. Right.
A
The, the other thing is and, and someone brought this up in the chat about like, you know, if, if, if Melody really is working with Drew and Drew at some point down, you know, the line is, is positioned well and has Melody in his pocket like he could turn on the vets. Right. Fair point. I don't think that any of these four options to go home is bad for Dee, Devins and Angela to get out eventually. But I do think a lot of big brothers also it's about timing of the Tim certain people out because if you were to take out one of the showmance at this point, it means that you now don't have a block of two moving forward together from here. From day one. Drew and Melody are a, you know, they're friends, but they're not like a solid block of two will always vote together at this point in time. You can kind of deal with that threat potentially later and completely locked into
B
all of your alliances.
A
Yes. And the drill or the Jason and Rome threats as either like I don't know, potential competition threats or people you know are coming after you are much more urgent threats to take out for your game. So yeah, you have to look at. It's not just like, oh, these people wouldn't be bad to get rid of eventually. But you don't, you don't want to become Jessica getting rid of Ramses. You know, like you have to be in a position where you're actively taking out people who are threats for you right now in this moment in a particular order to set yourself best up in the coming weeks. And they're just getting shortsighted, I think.
B
And I don't even hate the idea of evicting Melody this week. If we had the time laser and could go back to before they declared war on Rome.
A
Exactly.
B
Melody is kind of dangerous to them in, in some kind of like vague long term way. Remember, she was the person who put a stop to the Ashley Flip, she is a gamer, but in that same sense, like, you've now galvanized the other side. You've declared war on them, you've exposed your own position, all to do what you could have done without doing any of that by just taking out Melody, who they would have been willing to throw under the bus to save themselves in the first place. And you could have kept all those relationships, and everything would have been so much better if this was the plan all along.
A
And you know that to some extent, Jason and Rome and Lyric are going to be against you. Melodies may be against you. Maybe not. She's maybe with you. And so the. The other thing is, like, it's, you know, whenever you have two sides going at each other, and then this happens, you know, in Survivor and all these different games, there's a point in time when you want to flip on your own people, but you need to make sure that if you're going to vote out someone from your own people or someone in the middle, that you have enough power over the other side that's directly coming after you first. They don't. At this point, you need to whittle down that other side who's definitely coming after you before you make other extraneous moves.
B
Yeah, it very much is giving. Like, how we going after James and Sarah instead of the friendship. Right.
A
Like, or s. And them going after Hisam too early.
B
Like, Right. Yeah. Anyway, in this conversation with Devin's Angela, indeed, they talk about how they're not trusting Drew. They're worried even a little bit about Barrett. They're not sure where he is, but they do love him, and they think he's really loyal and it's actually fine. But he's really close to Drew. And Devin says, oh, well, are we concerned that we've been telling Barrett to, like, not tell Drew things? And immediately both Angela and Dego, we haven't told him that. He goes, oh, then I guess. I guess, yeah, I don't know. They're like, why do you. Why is. Have you. Have you been telling. No, no, I haven't. I haven't said. He's very much.
A
He's like, oh, shoot, that was me who did that.
B
He's like, oh, yeah, no, that's. I didn't do that. I thought. I just thought you. I don't know why I thought you guys were doing that. So, Yeah, I just didn't. Totally, totally didn't do that at all. So they. They don't even want to bring Drew in on this plan or potentially Barrett for A little while. They want to hold off and kind of, like, last minute be like, actually, here's what we're thinking. And so, I mean, just another thing I'm not really in agreement with, but, you know, it is what it is.
A
Yeah, because you're exi. Or not exiling, but you're. You're separating people from your alliance. And also, Drew and Barrett might be able to talk them into the how this is a bad move. So I'd rather that happen sooner rather than later.
B
So while this is happening, Drew is talking to Kamu in the gym, and I really want to start to. To elaborate more on this relationship, because it seems like it's developing pretty rapidly that they have talked about having a final two in the past. They've been developing this relationship for well over a few days now. Part of why Kamu suggested bringing Drew into the group to save Ashley was because he was developing this relationship with Drew. And we miss. We miss some chunks of it, but they talk about, like, hey, we could be, like, an iconic duo. The handyman. The handyman, like, running the tool shed. And I couldn't tell if this was, like, the first mention of this name between the two of them. It didn't seem like it. They also talk about. And this has confused me, and so maybe somebody will know somebody who's, like, got this forensically down because it came as a surprise to me, and I haven't been able to find out exactly what's behind it, But Drew basically says, wasn't that so funny in the bathroom when I brought up the tool shed and I made up this story about how I'd wanted to name an alliance this since I was seven years old. They all bought it, hook, line, and sinker. And Khan was like, I know. I looked at you, and we had a moment, like, ha, ha ha. They're. They're like, oh, they're gonna call this alliance the tool shed. And I was like, wait, when did. I did not catch this. Now, I know Drew had mentioned the. The name before, but. But I hadn't caught. Apparently there was some kind of conversation that either I missed or just wasn't on the feeds between Drew and Kamu, where they had orchestrated the fact that they would name this group the tool shed. And I think there's a chance that we caught parts of it, but it was a little bit tough because we couldn't really see a lot of it. Cut. The cameras were cutting because I think it was, like, on the. Like, the 14th ish. They. I had heard this name before, but, but anyway, apparently this is very much like Drew. Drew is like saying like, oh yeah, like he coordinated with Kamu about naming the alliance the Tool Shed ahead of time. And that Drew and Kamu are really like, locking in here, Kamu keeping this secret from, for Drew as well, that they have this final two that they, that they had seemingly, at least in their minds, coordinated the, the bringing of these groups together. Now that said, I don't think Kamu's told Drew about Red Corner and Drew knows about Red Corner, but, but it's interesting stuff.
A
Yeah, I, I kind of go back and forth on this because I think when, whenever you, you know, sharing, sharing secrets, having like, inside jokes, kind of things that you're doing with people is a great way to build bonds and, and stuff. But also, every time you share something like that, it does open up for Camus to in the future say, hey, you know, Drew, like, lied about that whole story and like, we actually had a plan to, you know, call this. But the beauty of this kind of thing is it's like, it's kind of harmless. You know, it's kind of a harmless lie in the same way that like, naming tribes things is a harmless joke.
B
I don't know.
A
I, I, I, I, I went on a date once where we were going to this party, and before we went to the party, we came up with like, all these things we were going to try to do there. Like a, like, oh, you got to get someone to say this word or you have to like, get them to play this song and stuff. And it was like, it's kind of fun because then anytime something would happen, you just like, look across the room and you're like, haha. We know, we know people love inside jokes. They love to be in them.
B
The bonding material for sure.
A
Bonding material.
B
So I kind of love this and, and Chad's saying that because I haven't seen this, that maybe is people. The person running Drew's social media account did have the Tool Shed name in mind. So I, I, that's unconfirmed to me at this point, but that would imply to me that Drew is double lying and that he's pretending to Kamu that him and Kamu made up the name Tool Shed together and then lied about the story to the rest of the group, when in reality the story was true and it was a lie that he had made it up in the moment. But either way, either way, the point is that he and Kamu are, are really locked in here.
A
Yeah, I, I like this. I think this is fun all around. And it would be even like a better extra layer for Drew to be like, actually, no, I did want this to be a thing from life, and I'm pretending to kamu that it's not and that we're having a fake joke about a thing that I actually just want to do.
B
Right. I kind of love that. Anyway, Jason is not going to be idle through the day. He goes on a little bit of a recovery tour talking to D about, you know, repairing their relationship. He talks to Angela to. To try to repair that relationship as well. He. He talks about, like, looking at the camera thing. It was not meant to be, like, mean spirited. It was just like a gag that, you know, he talked about doing with his friends before he came on the show. And he, he talks to Angela and he talks about his alliance that he made with Drew and Melody and how they then immediately turned around and made an alliance with Roman Lyric instead, and how he feels like he inspired them to start playing the game and they got so excited that they made an alliance without him. And so he feels a little proud to have sort of kick started their journey in the game, which, you know, he still doesn't know that that was the conversation that caused him to be in this. In this situation, but that's fine. He says to Angela that if she keeps him safe, he'll keep her safe and he'll be her minion in the game. And Angela very much enjoying this position of, I think, power over Jason, especially because she, I think, really does want to be on good terms with him again, but still very much willing to. To evict him at this point.
A
Yeah, I don't know. I don't know this one. What do you think is, like, from. From. From also from Angela's perspective, what do you think Angela should be doing here?
B
I think she's. She's doing what she, for the most part should be doing. I think keeping this on the down low is very, very good. Don't expose the fact that you've made up with Jason. Everyone knows exactly what he did to you. And so if you are willing to be publicly, like, good friends and allies with him again in the future like this, this soon, I think that will, that will set off some alarm bells with people in terms of, like, okay, she just really wants, like, she just really likes the people she likes and she's never gonna mess with me because, you know, she. She just wants to work with. Even after he did all that, she still wants to just work with Jason, so. And not to mention the fact that you can keep this on the down low and it could be very effective to have an actual connection that nobody would expect because of what he did to you. But also, you can never really trust Jason after what happened. Like, the way that he moved is so sort of like, devious in a game sense that, like, he, you can you ever trust that he's telling you the truth? I don't think you can fully. So, so, like, yeah, do it, but don't rely on him in the future. I would say.
A
Yeah. And I think Angela is aware, I mean, just based on how she played last time, like, I don't think in the nicest way, I don't think Angela is one to forgive or forget very easily. So I don't think that this is. I don't. I don't personally see them, like, massively, massively trusting each other in the future. So.
B
Yeah. Okay. I want to talk about Mallory because I think a little bit unfairly, I said that Mallory kind of seemed to just be accepting Barrett. Barrett's explanation of what happened during the night of the tool shed creation. And, and, and that's unfair because she, she did not. She was just saying yes to Barrett in that moment. And I was just. I figured she would have questioned him more in the moment because you want to, like, retain that relationship and not just allow him to lie to you. But Mallory is fully just like, bought out on, On Barrett. It should. This, this, this pair, this duo that Barrett was supposed to retain, this good relationship with Mallory is, Is almost entirely. They do have a long conversation in the night talking about strategy. But, like, Mallory is now playing Barrett more so than Barrett playing Mallory in terms of how much she actually seems to trust him. And that's because, just to reset this, Barrett was up in the room. He was called up to the room for the tool shed creation. And, and he was up there when Rome went up there and he came down and Mallory asked him about what happened the night before, and he initially completely denied even being up in that room, which was ridiculous. But she initially just kind of like, accepted it. Eventually had to come clean, of course, because everybody knew he was in that room. He admitted to other people, so I don't know why he thought he could get away with it with Mallory. But in addition to all of that, he's just been so sketchy and shady with her that she fully believes that she's lost him to the other side. And not just to the other side specifically, she's lost him to D. Because the Barrett D relationship is becoming more and more obvious and people are starting to point it out. And of course Mallory's biggest enemy in the game is D. She nominated her and she's been talking about wanting to go after her and now her supposed. One of closest. One of her closest, supposedly one of her closest allies is like all cuddled up with her and she really feels like she's lost D. Sorry. Lost Barrett to D. And that's particularly annoying because she finds the icons in general very annoying. The fact that they came in here with all this experience, a guaranteed first win, first HOH win, and now they're getting like all these powers moving forward because they're vets and the Americans, like what are we supposed to do in retaliation? And I'm not gonna lie, I agree with her. They are. They were pretty screwed here.
A
And do they. So two things on that. Number one, do the people in the house know that they. That you can only get one power or punishment per se?
B
I believe so, yeah. Yeah, I think that was part of the initial explanation.
A
At least there's that. And that this won't turn into the. Oh my gosh, the, the thing where Rachel's sister kept getting saved over and over.
B
MVP.
A
Thank you. least it's not like that. But also I, I completely agree with Mallory. Like, I think from a viewer perspective it can be fun sometimes when we have vets in these games, it's fun to, to watch them, especially if you're a fan of them or whatever. And it's like a very no win situation if you're a non vet in one of these games. Because if you don't like the vets, if you're in the Mallory Jason scenario, a lot of fans are going to dislike you purely on that basis. Why are you coming after my faves? You seem, you seem angry and bitter, like this isn't fun, you know, Meanwhile, if you work with them, best case scenario, you're seen as, you know, one of one of their minions who's going along with them, who's a fan of them. And then. But like a lot of people in the back of their mind are going to say, well, why are they working with them? Don't they know that like DE and Devin's are going to be closer to each other than they're ever going to be with Drew or Barrett? And I'm saying this sort of facetiously, I don't necessarily think that that's always true and going to be the case for the whole game, but that's like kind of the base level standard for how these things typically work. I do think that we have seen more unfair scenarios in the past when it comes to vets and returning players and stuff like that. And there is this like, weird threshold of like, I think in a lot of ways Sari coming in by herself was a disadvantage to her. It ended up working out okay and she made it, you know, decently far. But. But she wasn't handed like that many
B
special things she should have been handed.
A
Her son was in the house. So like, there's that, but he was kind of acting against her at times. Yeah, it's a special circumstance, but. But yeah, like I, I think it is perfectly acceptable. And if you come into this game and you want to win, I do think it is in the best interest of all of the non vets to all just say, hey, the first three people were voting out are the three bets. The second, they all don't have power.
B
You can try, but it's, it's very, it's like, it's Prisoner's Dilemma esque, where it's like at the end of the day for as many people that try to do it, the people that decide actually I can win a little more individual favor by siding with the vets. They, and, and historically they are the ones that have succeeded in, in all, I think in, in basically every season with some kind of vet in it. Either the vet wins or one of their allies wins or at least initial allies. If we're talking about somebody like Jag. Jag, I guess not super initial ally, but eventually worked with Suri for a very crucial portion of his game. And that was also like kind of a strange situation to begin with. But either way, you know, it's, it's, it's place to be. It's tough place to be. And I cannot fault Mallory for this, but I can fault Barrett for this because Barrett really seems like he's been dropping the ball a little bit lately. I don't like the fact that he's lost Mallory. I don't like the fact that he's lost not just Mallory. People like Taylor and Lala are talking about Barrett being D's lap dog. Like he's lost a lot of standing in the house outside of his alliance. Now, yes, the three vets talk about how they like Barrett more than Drew, but he doesn't even have great standing with the red corner in the way that Drew's been making progress. Drew making this alliance with Kamu and all of this stuff. They don't, they're like, they. They're like Barrett's a number to them but not much more. And so where does Barrett have standing? He kind of has to, like, completely put all of his eggs in the vet basket and then hope that he can beat them in the end. If that's kind of currently the. The trajectory now, it's very early, and Barrett's very safe, so this is not a huge concern. But. But I do feel like even just in terms of his usefulness to the alliance, that's it's been. It's been diminishing pretty rapidly. So I would like to see Barrett kind of like, come on, let's get. Get our head back in the game again. I. I get it. You know, you walk by d you go, hey, you're looking really nice today. You know, it's like, that's gotta. It's gotta be fun, but. But we gotta get. Gotta get our head in the game here, Barry.
A
I don't know. I've been watching this show for years and years and years, and the biggest thing that has shocked me about big brother consistently is the number of people who so quickly into the game find the people they like and talk to and don't bother to ever hang out with, talk to, or strategize with anyone else. It's like you're in a house that's all you have to do 247 for day after day after day. And so, like, you know, you'll get to week three, and someone will put someone on the bl talk and be like, yeah, I just don't really know you. How. You've been in here for three weeks. How have you not.
B
How.
A
How have you not talked to them? I don't understand.
B
Yes, well, the night is not over because Melody, you might have realized, has been a bit absent from the proceedings. She spent a lot of time with Drew, and they were just chatting, just chatting about life and about, like, you know, so what do you. What do you want to do in the future, Drew, you know, she also, though, has a conversation with Kamu, and she basically pitches to Kamu multiple things. Very good things. Really impressed with Melody in this conversation as well. She pitches to Kama all. All the right things to say to get Kamu on board with her. Kamu, the one person who hasn't yet fallen into the lyric trap. She talks about how she realizes that Rome has been protecting other people over her, and of course he's always going to pick lyric over her. Kamu brings up the supposed breakup of Kamu, of Rome, and Lyric. Except it doesn't really seem like they've been broken up now. Kamu actually was warned by Drew that this might be a ploy. So he already has an idea. And Melody is able to continue to kind of confirm this. That, like, yeah, I didn't even hear about a breakup, to be honest. Like, I didn't even, like, I don't know. I don't think that's the thing. Or at the very least, like, they're definitely still together. Like, I don't know what she's trying to do, but, like, they're still together. They're still going to be choosing each other. And I feel like I am on the outs of this entire situation. And on top of that, she talks about Mallory and she talks about how Mallory, despite everything that Melodies tried to do to get her to trust Drew and to kind of like be open to coming with her away from this group, that's not protecting them. Mallory just can't stop not trusting Drew. Kamu doesn't like because Kamu likes Drew and she's. She's so dead set on not working with the other side of the house, meaning Kamu and the vets. And so Melody giving this information on Mallory also helping win Kamu over. He really sees the truth of Melody actually being willing to. To kind of jump ship here versus Lyric, who he really does not see as somebody who is going to do that. Now, at this point, he doesn't even know that the Lyric plan exists in the. In the form that it does, but he does say, I think you should go and talk to Devin's about all this stuff because this is really important information to know. And she says, I plan to. This is what I've planned to talk to Devin's about. So. So Kamu, feeling pretty good about Malady right now, goes up and has a conversation with Devin's. And Devins starts to slowly pitch the idea of the Lyric thing to. To comment. Like, I was kind of feeling like maybe taking Lyric off the block, I'm not entirely sure. And comma was like, oh, that's interesting because I was kind of thinking that, you know, obviously you would do Melody. And he's like, now I was kind of thinking Lyric. Like I had a good conversation with her and Kama's like, okay, I mean that could make sense. My thought was though, you know, I actually think, because. Because Devin's mentions that he thinks Melody is the strongest player between her and Lyric and Commerces, I actually think Mallory is the biggest threat amongst the three of them. And Devin says, oh, yeah, I, I agree with that. I mean, she's the Pipe Queen. And so stop. In Kamu's mind, he says, I think that the, like, winning favor with Melody would be a good idea because she still is connected to Mallory and winning over Melody to our side could help her sort of, like, alleviate some of that strain with Mallory. Especially if we don't plan to evict Lyric or Melody anyway. Like, because Devin's. We can't afford to keep Jason. You saw how close he was in that competition. And this is when Devin says, yeah, it was a rookie move that he didn't hit that buzzer. But, like, if, if we miss Rome, we have to take out Jason. He's way too good at competition. He's going to win in hoh. He's going to come right at us. And Devin says, you know what? That's. That's fair if we're going to evict Jason anyway. Yeah, yeah. I mean, if we're going to evict Jason anyway, then pulling Melody does make more sense, I think.
A
Wow.
B
Yeah. And Kamu continues the pitch. He says, I talked to Melody earlier, really felt like she was willing, way more willing to vote with our side than, than Mallory or Lyric would be. And. And Devin's like, okay, I just. I would just need to figure out exactly. Figure out as a group exactly which person we actually intend to send home. And comma's like, oh, yeah, but so, I mean, we're gonna send home Jason, right? Like, that's. He's a much bigger threat. He's like, yeah, I don't want to. Want to talk to the group about it. I was like, well, what do you think, Evans? And this is the part of the conversation, despite Devin's agreeing with some of Kami's logic, he's very reluctantly saying, yeah, I guess I agree with what you're saying about Jason. So if that's the case, then, yeah, Melody makes sense. But he keeps referring to wanting to talk to the group. So I would not take this as Devin's is convinced this is locked in by any means. We still have D who is pushing that side. We still have Angela who is won over. But. But Kamu says, again, like, Melody hasn't even come close to winning anything. She played in two vetoes. Now, the HOH competition, she's not come close in anything compared to Jason in particular. So it doesn't make any sense to take out Melody. And if we're planning to take out Jason, we might as well pull Melody off the Block. So this is, this is what I'm thinking. And, and he seems to be making some progress on Devin's.
A
And just to clarify, does Kamu want Jason out over Rome as well?
B
That's not what he's pitching, but again, worth noting. We talked about at the beginning of this update that there was some worry that he might want that, that he might want Romeo, but he has not personally actually indicated that in any significant way.
A
Okay. Yeah, I mean, look, at least, at least we've got a third party here that is coming to Devin's and giving him something else to think about. Re the, the Lyric slash Melody situation, I do feel like it's like the information is out there. It just needs to get to him in the right way. But especially like the information that Lyric and Rome are not actually broken up.
B
Yeah. And it's, it's so it's strange to me that I have to rely on Kamu to talk some sense into these vets. But, you know, it seems to be where we're at at the moment. But this is again where we logic
A
can come from a surprising place. Like people who are not so insulated or you know, into every single thing that comes on. Like, they kind of do have what I was talking about, that like zoomed out perspective. They're seeing things with different eyes.
B
For what it's worth, Kamu has generally talked sense in the game, at least certainly not elsewhere. But, but he has talked decent sense even through Ds HOH when he talked about not putting somebody up in her own group and, and stuff like that. Like, his logic is, is usually pretty sound and he has been pretty team oriented. But we get to an interesting con part of the conversation. When Devin says, I think one of the main reasons he's still reluctant to agree with taking off. Melody says, okay, well, comma, between us, just between us. Can Melody pull Drew away from us, comma goes, no, no, I'm tight with Drew. I'm telling you, Drew's locked in. We don't need to worry about Drew and Devin's. Like, just, just don't make, just make sure he doesn't fall in love. You know, they spend a lot of time together and it's like, again, clearly here is part of the issue. But also clearly Devin's continuing to not take his own advice about. No, I wasn't telling Barrett not to tell. There's a non zero chance that Kamu goes back to Drew with this concern from Devins.
A
Yeah, yeah, this is I, I, I like Devin's and I think that he is entertaining. I. I think that he just cannot understand the. You need to hold some cards closer, you need to slow play some things and you're trusting too many people and sending too much information into too many directions.
B
And this is just like, this is classic. Like you know, you can study up for Big Brother all you want, but like there are just some things that if you knew the show a little more, you just intrinsically know because you've seen it play out a million times. But like this is Kyle and Alyssa. This is, you know, like this, like this showman Corey in America. You know, if you are concerned that Drew might like dive in with Melody, just pull Melody in and make them feel good so that they are a target. That, so that they like so you can take Melody out if they get put up on the block together. He Drew proposed this as a parachute in the first place. Don't to keep pressing this issue. Instead just bring her in. That's a number for you. Why is this such an issue? This is a perfect opportunity to pull her in and be even more powerful. And it happens every single time and it always leads to disaster. Corey blows up Cerize Alliance. Kyle blows up the leftovers. Like you, you. You can't press these things and expect them not to. To. To explode.
A
Yeah. I mean, do you think some of it is just that they, they truly don't understand that. That Mallory is like not with or sorry, Melody is not with Mallory and Lyric and stuff as much as she initially was or even if she was
B
good like, and if she's not also good, you can pull her in closer. She can retain those relationships you can have like let her play both sides for a while, accumulate a target because of that. Expose her for playing both sides if you need to in the future. There are so many options that you have. Not to mention the fact that clearly her social ties in the house are not that strong. She really only has Drew and not many other people, which again makes her perfect for you to pull over because she's so game oriented. Will she jump ship on you the second you get in trouble? Absolutely. But she's valuable to you right now. And there is a whole other side of the house at the moment that you just declared war on that doesn't have a side to jump from because they were never with you in the first place.
A
Yeah, yeah. It's truly, it's truly baffling that this just feels like such a no brainer.
B
Oh well. Devin's again though does say, you know, I do I do think it makes sense, more sense to take down Melody because. Because I'm more threatened by Melody. I'd rather get that goodwill from her than somebody I'm less threatened by, which, yes, that does. If you're. If you're going by that logic, then that does make more sense. If you're not planning to evict her, you might as well win favor by. With her. If you are threatened by her leaving her on the block to not evict her, to teach her a lesson or whatever it is that you think is happening there. Doesn't make any sense. And so Kamu then again, finally tries to reiterate Drew's allegiance to their group. And he does so by saying, you know, I really think Drew's with us. You know, he's wanted that tool shed alliance since he was a kid, which we know from Kamu's perspective is a lie. He's trying to convince Devin's that Drew is locked in because of the name thing that we know they just laughed about. And funnily enough, in response to this, Devin says, that's really funny because I'm. I'm. I'm making fun of it in the diary room all the time. I'm like, the tools.
A
Kidding.
B
And I just thought it was very funny that he said that in front of Kamu. Kamu using it as a thing there. And then Devin saying that he didn't like it, especially if Kamu was in any way part of creating that name. And. And they've got the tool shed and the handyman, and here's. Here's Devin saying he makes fun of the tool shed name. Funny moment. Especially with all the. The tool shed mystery.
A
For me, it's funny, but it's also like, this is what I was talking about with inside jokes. It's like, it's funny to feel like we've got the joke. It's not funny when you start realizing that other people are turning the joke against you as well. So I feel like this is. I. I mean, I think Kami is
B
going to tell Drew about this. So an interesting turn of events. We don't really see Devin's with much more thought process on this. So we're gonna have to wait for more updates on the Renam plan, or, sorry, not the Renown plan, but the veto plan that. Who's being taken down? That is the question. Not who's going up and, uh, but we do for the rest of the night. Kamu goes and he talks to Chuck and Haley and basically gets them on Board with the melody plan too. Pulls them off of the Lyric should be pulled off the block. Gets them on the melody should be pulled off the block plan pretty easily. And so now all three of the Red Corner people are on board with the Melody plan for now at least. And meanwhile, D and Angela are still thinking this is Lyric. Devin's has been theoretically a bit swayed, but again, he might talk to D again, who might push him back in the direction of Lyric. And so who knows what will happen of all of the. With all of this. Kamu might go to Drew and warn him, like, hey, we really need to make sure Melody comes off the block. And so this could get a little spicy. If D and Angela and Devins don't back down and Kamu and Drew don't back down. I don't think Drew actually cares all that much, or at least he's not gonna allow himself to be seen as caring that much because he's still in that Corey America phase where Corey's just throwing America under the bus. But. But, you know, some interesting stuff could come here. The plan might flip back to Melody, or it could be more of a war. It could. It could flip back again to Lyric. Who knows? But. But that's basically where we are going to leave off here in the night as. As Mary sneezes.
A
Sorry, I had some massive sneezes right then at the end. Yeah, that's pretty much the end. I. I do feel like this was kind of a full circle day. There was a lot there. I don't think that it's completely locked in at this point. What's going to happen? And there's certainly more time for. For more conversations. I think there's a few things that I'm kind of looking forward to happening over the next few days. I would love for. I would love for Drew to. Well, I was going to say I want him to stand up for Melody a little bit, but it's more like he needs someone else to do that work for him. Because if he's doing it, that's just going to seem more like a dangerous.
B
I just think it goes to show how useless it is to pretend, whether it's pretending or not. But the, like, Drew was up in the hoh from saying we could still evict Melody.
A
And yeah, don't do that.
B
They're still talking about Drew, like being concerned about Drew and Melody. So he's not winning any favor by doing that. All he's doing is giving them permission to screw him over instead. If you're like Listen, I. Like, I. I think we should keep her around. I think that she's value and making the arguments for why she's valuable.
A
What if he says they broke up,
B
confirm their fears that, like, he's with Mel, but they already think that anyway, and now you're giving them arguments for why they shouldn't go against it and providing some resistance for them to be like, well, we don't want to piss Drew off by leaving her on the block or whatever, so we might as well keep her. Like, it's. It's the same downsides. They're already talking about you anyway. You might as well actually put up some resistance and keep her safe so that you have those numbers.
A
Yeah, it would be good. It's like, the best thing you really need to do is just come at this from a perspective of, like, no, she's a number for us. Like, guys, I don't care about my relationship with just her YouTube. You guys build a. Build a better relationship with her. That sounds great. Like, let's pull her in. And I think someone just really needs to open somebody's eyes about the fact that, like, Lyric is clearly doing something. You know, if she's getting everyone to change their opinions and get on board with her at this fast, like, that's. That's dangerous, too.
B
They did. They did clock a little bit that they saw how much she was flirting with. With Chuck, and they're like, that this is pretty fast. But they haven't quite made the connection that it's, like, planned. They just think that either way, it's
A
dangerous either way, if you're a person who can drop one showmance and potentially go into another one that quickly, or be a person who's lying about dropping the first romance and then getting people to think that you're on their side by flirting, like, either way, this is a dangerous, dangerous thing to do. But, you know, it's working for her for a little bit. So.
B
Yeah.
A
Anyway.
B
All right. Anything else that you wanted to bring up from yesterday, Mary?
A
There was a kind of funny moment where Lala was ranting about people being loud at night and being inconsiderate. And that was kind of funny. I don't know. Just love Lala, like, doing her own thing.
B
Yes. Lala, by the way, still, like, firmly back on board with Rome and everything, at least for the moment. And like I said with. With Taylor. Fully cognizant of Barrett's sort of involvement with the other side, Drew remains a bit of a question mark to many of these middle people. They're not middle people. These. These people on Rome side, they're not entirely sure they're worried about Drew. There's a conversation with Rome and Jason where they talk about trying to maybe blow Drew up, throw him under the bus to try to get Melody to stay on the block and maybe get evicted. But Rome is concerned that if they blow Drew up, then they won't be able to pull him as a number and he might be the number that they need. And so it seems pretty clear that Rome, when talking to Drew about Jack, is trying his best to win Drew over from the other side because he still thinks Drew is gettable, which, of course, we know he's really not at this point.
A
Yes. Yeah. Yep. Exactly. Yeah. You know, just a. A lot of moving parts here and it's. I stand by that. Despite all of the vet production kind of nonsense, it's been. It's been a fun season. I have been pleasantly surprised by the gameplay of a lot of people.
B
Yes, people are asking about Yash. Yash is laying low. Laying low. Still playing both sides, but people really see what's happening with Yash. It's not like they're tricked by him. Devin's in particular was kind of astounded by the fact that Yash hasn't seemingly recognized that Rome is the backdoor target. This is because Chuck is playing dumb with Yash for no particular reason. And so Yash was like, oh, I guess Rome is not the backdoor target. But worth noting, I guess, in the house, that it's becoming more and more recognized in the house. Devin said it outright. He said, I don't think Yash is capable with work, capable of working with the women. I think he's only ever going to be able to work with men just based on who he is and the way he talks. And so because he's. He's saying he's doing the classic, like, oh, men and women can't be friends. And. And he. He. They were talking about, like, dating preferences before, and he was talking about musculature is inherently masculine, and therefore, if a woman has muscles, she looks more masculine by default. It's biology. It's fact. You can't argue with me. It's not an opinion. And so it's like, you know, people are recognizing that Yash is not exactly a person that is going to be working with many women in the game.
A
I. Yeah, I love to be. I love to be told how many muscles I'm allowed to have.
B
Yeah.
A
Favorite thing.
B
Yeah. But Mayor, he's. He's not saying it's. It's. It changes your insights. It just changes how you look on the outside. So.
A
Yeah, look, I've been fighting these Frail Mary allegations for years. I would love to have some more muscles. Great. Maybe I wouldn't be in pain all the time.
B
Yeah. Anyway, I think that's about what we got here for today. Of course. We'll be back tomorrow morning, 11am Eastern, to update you. And everything that happens today on The Big Brother 28 live feeds, including what happens with this lyric Melody, who gets taken off the block and thing. I really feel like while Drew has basically taken it lying down this whole time, I would not keep pressing their luck by pressing that button on Drew. And this whole situation could be the spark of that. I don't think so. I think Drew is still super loyal and he won't deviate anytime soon, but it's just going to be another piece of evidence that builds up in the future. So we'll see if anything happens with that. And of course, the ceremony will be tomorrow, so there's tons of time today for all of them to talk through. I'll be live tonight on Twitch, YouTube and Patreon, if you want to join me. Patreon's the best place to be for, for me streaming the episode. And then of course, we'll be here to recap it all tonight. And the, the VOD of the post nomination drama, me reacting to it is also up on my Patreon if you want to check out. Check that out. Mary, what do you got going on?
A
Not too much. Saw the Odyssey yesterday. That was fun. Doing. Doing some podcasting about the Suite Life of Zach and Cody with Matt Liguori over on his podcast. Check that out. And just for some clarity, because I feel like it confused people. Frail Daddy is my, my father. I'm. I'm visiting him. He's not my partner. I. I don't even really call him Daddy to his face. That's weird. I don't really do that. I just think Feral Daddy sounds. I've dropped Terence dropped. He's gone. So just for some clarity on that anyway. But, but yeah, so hanging out.
B
I just can't. I just can't get it out of my head now that you might at some point in your life call your partner Frail Daddy.
A
I will definitely not be ever doing that. Get rid of it.
B
You've got, like, children and you're like, yeah, Frail Daddy's on their way. Oh, I hate it.
A
I hate it so much. Is Frail Father better? I don't think it is.
B
It's an alliteration. Yeah.
A
Frail zaddy. No, I don't like any of these. Please stop. Thanks for, you know, chat much like with Pipe Queen. Let's go back to workshopping that.
B
All right. Anyway, that's what we've got for you today. Thank you all so much for joining and I will see all of you next time.
