We got a lot to talk about from a very busy weekend and a busy night of a Big Brother. And we're excited to bring in a man who's been on fire all weekend. It's Taron Robstroke Taren, how are you?
Taryn
I'm doing. I'm doing great, Rob. I. I just had the thought that I should change the lights behind me to. To a different color because I want to be. I want to be a champion, you know? You know what I mean? Like, I just feel like I. And when I think about the color or the. The number four, which. There's four of us, I think of the color red.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Taryn
So let's. I'm gonna. I'm in from the red corner.
Rob Cesternino
Yes. You have a red corner literally in your room now.
Taryn
Yeah.
Rob Cesternino
Yes. Okay. All right, look at this. On the fly. Adapting red corner. All right. And back with us for the first time since draft night, it's Aman. Edwin. Aman, how are you?
Aman
I'm great. Happy to be back. I'm trying to follow suit and do the same thing with my lights, but my stuff's not connected.
Rob Cesternino
Yes.
Aman
Let's do it.
Rob Cesternino
Okay. And very excited. For the first time in BB28, it's Mary Krakowski. Mary, how are you?
Mary Krakowski
I'm doing great. I. Sadly, I don't have a red corner or couldn't really think of anything to do for the crossovers, but I guess you could say, you know, this is. This is a crossover between lots of different RHP hosts.
Rob Cesternino
Yes. We're all crossing over from the various different RHAP podcasts, all to come here for one special recap tonight. It's incredible.
Mary Krakowski
I have a crossover with a. A trader shirt, so.
Rob Cesternino
Yes. Yes. Okay. Well, we're so excited to be here with you live after this Sunday night episode, which was not delayed by any CBS sports, which we appreciate so much. So excited to talk about it after. Are we having fun yet in Big Brother 28? I feel like we're off to such a great start.
Taryn
It's a good episode. Yeah, I liked it.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. Okay, well, Taryn, let me start with you, and I know you've been chronicling everything from the live feeds for these last. What was it, about 48 hours since the live feeds came on? This episode really was everything that took place prior to the live feeds coming on. Did this episode fill in a lot of gaps for you?
Taryn
Yes, but in. In the way that, like, if I were doing a fire survivor puzzle, like, there were some holes that had exact puzzle pieces that it was able to slot in. It was exactly what we expected to see. Just a lot of confirmation of the things that we had seen on the feeds, which is. Is pretty rare, I think, in general. Usually there's, like, some surprising things, but like, it all just kind of lines up. Yep. This is. This is that group. This is that showmance. This is that. And. And it all was all, like, necessary. And I think I'll set it up pretty well for the viewer of this episode to understand the general dynamics of what's happening in the house.
Rob Cesternino
Mary, we haven't gotten to talk to you at all during Big Brother 28 so far. How are you feeling about all this?
Mary Krakowski
You know, it's. It's interesting because I was trying to come at this episode a little bit from. I'll be honest, I did not have time to watch the Big Brother Unlocked yet. And so I was curious to see from the perspective of if anyone else had also not watched that, how seamless was it? I definitely think. I know Taryn, you had mentioned it on one of the live feed updates, but, like, I think they were wanting that to be like a mainstay episode because a little bit crucial. Otherwise you end up the last one. It ends with Rachel in the volcano and starts with halfway through this puzzle, I'm like, hold on. Yeah, Dean here. What?
Aman
Yeah, it's definitely a little disjointed. So, yeah, you really have to get into the Unlocked. It really reminded me a lot of, like, when I would buy these VHS of these animes that I loved as a kid, but, like, I never bought them in chronological order, so, like, stuff would be happening. I don't know how this happened, but here's this new character and I gu. We're rocking with it. So, yeah, BB Unlocked, I guess. I guess we're going to be seeing some. Some interesting things on there from here on out. But.
Mary Krakowski
Yeah, but, you know, I. I'm used to watching very strategic, highbrow shows, so I think I. I think I made some connections. I think I figured out what happened in the gap that I missed.
Taryn
You'd be surprised.
Rob Cesternino
So this episode was really a lot about the very fast start for D and by proxy, Rick Devins and Angela. And it's all coming together, going swimmingly so far. And I would love to just go back and talk about Taren. Historically, when we've had these returning players come into the house, does it. Does the first week always typically go as well? Is this like, par for the course?
Taryn
It can be, yes. I mean, I'm thinking about, like, Nicole Franzel's first HOH in Big Brother 18. She ultimately goes on to win that that season. Of course, we all know Cody's first HOH and All Stars. That wasn't a mixed cast, but similarly went very, very well for him. And so, yeah, I mean, if you get a person who knows what they're doing into the most powerful position in the entire game, which is like that first hoh,
Aman
We're.
Taryn
We're probably going to see some good things, and there's been a streak of
Rob Cesternino
people who were not people who knew
Taryn
what they were doing, and we're, you know, Angela included at the time that she did it, and we've had some wild runs, but. But this time around, it's in. It's in capable hands and they're doing capable things.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, I think that the thing that feels unusual about this, it's that these returnees are here and they're doing great, and I think that it's fun also. Like, we're enjoying seeing, like. Like, it's feeling like the beginning of a steamroll. I'm sure it will change. I'm sure it won't be, but this is a fun group to root for.
Mary Krakowski
Yeah. And three is interesting as, like, a number of returnees. And it's not. They're not. They're not in pairs. It's not half the cast. They're not captains exactly. They weren't given 1800 friendship bracelets.
Taryn
They were certainly promised HOH.
Mary Krakowski
Yes. They were certainly set up well. And. And I'm not going to pretend that it's completely fair. What I will say is at least two out of the three of them are, like, have also not played Big Brother before. So it's. It's, you know, it's a little bit asterisk difference.
Rob Cesternino
And the other one is Angela.
Mary Krakowski
Exactly. And I was going to say that, like, one of my favorite things is returning people on reality shows where that person is not like a winner or almost winner or known for being, like, the world's best. Like, Angela is known primarily as being a really fun charact character. And so that's what I appreciate about this. Like, what's not to like with her coming back?
Aman
See, that's the thing that I'm very interested in because, yeah, it's great for Angela now. You know, it's great to have some legends in there from Survivor, one of them being a winner that can kind of take a little bit of the heat off of her. She's still the lone Big Brother returnee, and her alliance is in power. Her alliance is, you know, the HOH is in her alliance. Things are going by very, very well, but it's Angela, so, you know, things can probably change at the drop of a hat. And I think that's kind of like what production wants as well. So I wouldn't be surprised if later on down the line when things get a little hairy or get a little rocky or someone in the alliance doesn't necessarily agree with her or do what they want her to do. I'm wondering how copacetic things will be. But yeah, it's a lovely start and I'm glad to know that Angela is enjoying herself. I'm glad to see then in this episode she talks about, like, this is going by so much better than what my first experience was, even though she was the hoh and a lot of that was a little self inflicted.
Taryn
Yeah.
Aman
But, you know, things can change and I hope they do.
Rob Cesternino
Well, let's start with Dee and Rick, and this episode starts with them being sort of like on uneasy footing. I buy that they did not know each other was going to be in the house. You heard D a little bit talking about how she knows Angela's game. I think that Angela had been pretty widely reported and rumored as a returnee. I think it's reasonable that Dee brushed up on Angela, but I think that the Rick Devins part of it, I think was a pretty well kept secret. And I don't think that D new. So I think that there was some legitimate surprise, but I think that the disharmony in the relationship between Rick and D has been largely exaggerated for television purposes.
Taryn
I think. I agree. I think that. I mean, I'm sure there was that, like, small amount of nervousness of like, we're, we're good, right? But like, you could tell how quickly it was dispelled, like, yeah, yeah, of course we're good. Okay, good.
Aman
Yeah.
Taryn
It's like, Rob, because we're Love island experts now, it's like when. It's like when they do the recoupling on Love island is like Trinity and Bryce and you're like, well, of course. Come on.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, yeah. Like, okay, we're gonna. We're gonna get back together, right?
Taryn
Yeah, yeah, yeah, of course.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. Okay, good.
Taryn
Yeah, yeah. And you wanted to get back together with me.
Aman
Yeah.
Taryn
Yes. Perfect.
Rob Cesternino
Perfect.
Aman
See, I. I still have not watched Survivor 50 because I was still in protest of Rob not being on. Wow, that was such a big sacrifice. Thank you. What a real. I really didn't know all the history between the two of them on that season, so I was like. I was. It was kind of like, new to me to hear, like, you know, some of the drama that happened. You know, apparently it was her that backstabbed him or voted him out or something.
Rob Cesternino
Honestly, there was not a ton of backstabbing that they were.
Taryn
They were never in the same real.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, they. Well, they were in. They were in a tribe together. At one point on the Charlie vote. That was the one thing, Char, that Rick Devins was blindsided when D blindsided Charlie. So D voted out one of Rick's allies at one point. I don't think we ever saw them have an on screen conversation in Survivor 50. And then when the merge tribe almost unanimously voted out D, Rick also was one of the votes. So there was very little direct, you know, conflict between Rick Debbins and d in Survivor 50.
Aman
Right. Okay. So that. And that makes sense because it did really feel to me as well, like, okay, like this is a new game, new slate. We're both doing this together. We're both the Survivor players here. Let's do Survivor Prowl. The best way that we can do that is working together. Let's just make it happen. So, yeah, that's. That's very much the vibe I think I got to.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. And what choice do they have? Of course they're going to work together. They're going to get together with Angela and Angela, as we've discussed, is feeling very good about this setup so far. Let's bring into focus the red corner, which we spent a lot of time on in this episode. Camus and Haley and Chuck are the red corner. And Taryn, from the red corner's perspective, they are the main characters of Big Brother 28.
Taryn
Right. 100%. They are the secret alliance running the game. They are the bomb squad. Like, they are running things. And you honestly, like, there's not a lot of reason to believe you aren't if you're those people. You did make sure to smartly include the other returning Survivor player when talking to D. You know, maybe you could have tried to include Angela as well if you really wanted to, to make sure it was locked in. But like, I think it does make some sense to some degree to not, you know, D is. Is giving them things, you know, she's talking to them. I think, you know, once we get a little further down the line, there may be some signs they could pick up on. But yeah, for right now, they, they think they've got it made.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. They go to D, they say, hey, should we bring in Rick? D Handles is very smartly. Is like, okay, if you think so. And they have the meeting with Rick Devins and they come up with what their alliance is going to be. Should we talk about the. The Chuck And Haley of it all
Mary Krakowski
was this like a little weird to anyone else? Just the way the conversation went down. I don't know. I was trying to follow it. It almost felt like Chuck was like stepping in it and trying to overcorrect as he was stepping it. Because it felt like he was saying like, oh, yeah, there's been so many women winners. Which is why I need a woman. Right. So you can get in with the women. I'm great with women, but I need you to get in with them. Right. And I'm like. It was like he was speaking and realizing, wait, shoot, no, this isn't a positive thing to be saying in front of her. I got to correct it.
Rob Cesternino
First of all, I thought Chuck was going to work with all the women. That was his whole thing.
Aman
No, just one. Just one, Rob. You just need one.
Taryn
He only needs one. Because then. Then if he has a. A woman.
Rob Cesternino
Yes.
Taryn
Then he can use the woman to communicate with the other women.
Mary Krakowski
Right.
Taryn
What you didn't realize, Rob, is that when he said he's really good with women, this is what he meant. He has the strat. He just needs one.
Mary Krakowski
Right.
Taryn
And then that one woman. Yes, exactly.
Aman
Is every woman. She's every woman.
Taryn
And she's a girl's guy.
Mary Krakowski
And it's a really good place in It's. She did say I'm a girl's guy. It's a really good place. As we know in strategy based shows to have someone else be the intermediary connecting you with other people.
Rob Cesternino
Right.
Mary Krakowski
Like you don't, you don't want to connect with other people. You just want someone else to do it for you. Right.
Taryn
Yeah. And the problem with this strategy is that Haley is probably less popular with the women.
Aman
Yeah, that's. That's the gag of it all.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. You know, we got in the champagne toast from everybody a lot of who has the hots for whom. And we found out that Haley has the hots for Camus. Did we know this? Taran?
Taryn
They spend a lot of time together. They've been linked pretty tightly. But according to Rome, Haley is into him. Yes. Flirted with him. And to his credit, Haley has told Kamu that she intentionally flirted with him to flatter him to, to, to play up to his ego. So, you know, I have not seen like a lot of like actual chemistry with Haley and Kamu, but they, they are tightly linked and they, you know, travel together a lot.
Rob Cesternino
Okay.
Mary Krakowski
Also, did I make this up in the interact. In introductions, did Haley give a different age than her age or Did I make that up?
Aman
That was Lala.
Mary Krakowski
Well, okay, yes. Lala also did that. Okay, maybe not. I'll go back and check later. I could have sworn that Haley said in her introduction that she was 27, but 29, right? Yeah, she is 29. I just, I might have misheard that. That was probably. I, you know, I am hoping to
Aman
see this alleged footage of Haley flirting with Rome, because if that is the case, I mean, Rome has already kind of given us the playbook for, like, the type of girl that he likes, so she's definitely not going to fit that. Like a girl's guy, or guy's girl, as she meant to say, is definitely not what Rome is looking to latch on. But, you know, interesting nonetheless that she's telling Kamu, who she apparently has the hots for according to this episode, that it was all strategy. I don't know. Interesting.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. So we got to see the formation of the red corner here with the group and that Rick and D do a good job, I guess, of convincing that this is going to be a, a group. Should Rick and D, like, they're, they're in this and, and they're feeling like, okay, this is a fake alliance automatically, but I feel like that they're being like a little flip with, like, shouldn't they be like, hey, let's, let's play this out for a little bit.
Mary Krakowski
It definitely seems it's like that's what Dee was hoping to maybe do, like, have some have a backup plan at the very least.
Taryn
I mean, I, I, I love the idea of having a main alliance that is not this one, because this one is not the alliance that gives them the best position. In addition to that, by creating a main alliance where they are better positioned, it also gives them dual overlapping alliances, which is more of everything. It's exponentially better. So I love the idea of immediately, like, running away. Now, the real debate, I think, comes to what Devin's did, which is reveal the alliance to your main alliance, which I'm sure we can talk about.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, let's talk about that because, okay, we see that they bring in, then Drew and then they bring in Barrett, and I'd like to actually talk about the formation of that as well. But then we see where Rick decides to tell Angela about the alliance. I think that this is actually two separate questions about telling Angela and then telling Drew. It seems like that telling Angela was probably a good move.
Taryn
Yeah.
Mary Krakowski
And I do think that this is also like a more survive. I mean, we've seen it on Big Brother too. But in Survivor there's a lot more like worry about an alliance member finding out that you have a different alliance and how that can blow up. And I do think that this is Rick showing a bit of his short gameplay as opposed to, you know, he was just on a shortened, well, whatever, 26 day version of Survivor. And, and this is a much longer game where it's, it might take a little, you have more time to correct if things get leaked in Big Brother and in Survivor you have less. And so I think he was just trying to get ahead of potential problems later, not realizing that, like, hey, at this point there's only two of us who could leak it, me or D. And I guess I'm going to make it me, you know.
Taryn
Well, it's also like Big Brother is so long and as D said, like things could change. Yeah, right, right. Like there's a world where Devin's needs to pivot and make the red corner his main alliance. But, oh, Angela now knows about it.
Mary Krakowski
Yes.
Taryn
And so that's, that's something that could be an issue if you really, really plan to go deep with Angela. You trust her and you know specifically that Angela is the kind of player who will not take it lightly. If she finds out you've been hiding something from her, she will not just be smoothed over in the way that somebody else might and has the paranoia to really be like watchful, you, you might have to take this risk and decide, I'm either going to tell it to her and it will blow up or, or I can wait and she'll find out and it'll blow up. So I might as well try to get, get it to her now and hope that she takes it for what it is, which she did. So ultimately, I think with Angela in particular, in the spot they're in, I do think this was the right call.
Rob Cesternino
Rick and D together are interesting players to work together because I do think that while they both are generally like pretty loyal, that there's a little bit of a difference between the two of them where Rick is 100% loyal to his people. When you are, when Rick locks in with somebody that he shares all the information, everything that he knows he gives to his allies and he will 100% go to any degree to fight for his allies. If we look at d back in Survivor 45, De isn't going to share 100% of what she knows with her allies. She was very close with Julie and she may have given all the information that she had with Julie, but there was a lot that she wasn't telling Austin who that Austin was under the impression that he was de's number one. And there was a lot of things that, that she hid and manipulated from Austin and Drew going into telling Julie to play the hidden immunity idol when Emily Flippin ended up going home. And so that D is. Is not going to be like, as cards up with, like, maybe there might be one person she could be like that with, but that she's not going to be like that with the whole group. Yeah.
Aman
And I, I mean, it's. It's an interesting tension to watch because, like, yeah, it does really. It seems like Devin's is really much more like, listen, like, I don't, I don't have time for like the run around. If we're going to do this, then let's do do this. Whereas with D, she's. She's going to compartmentalize things, which I think in her mind is always going to keep her like, one step ahead. Because, like, if I see everything for what it is and I cordon off certain sections of information, then I can probably control the narrative better. And she's already preemptively trying to strike, being like, okay, well, if this thing does blow up because Devin's decided to just let it all hang out, then let's just make sure that he's the one that gets those under the bus and not me. And I live for that. Because it's kind of hard for her to keep that strategy entirely intact if you are with somebody like Devin's and with somebody like Angela, because the both of them at any given moment could just be like, you know what? Blow it up. Blow it up sky high. So I'm interested to see how the three of them continue to work around that dynamic.
Mary Krakowski
Yeah. And then with the second phase of telling Drew in this situation, obviously I think this was worse than this telling Angela. My gut also is that some of this had to do with Rick being like, shoot, he's walking over if someone's going to tell him. I want it to be me and not Angela later at a different time. Like, I want to control the narrative of what we're telling Drew here. But obviously this was still probably not the right move because he doesn't really gain anything by Drew knowing this at this point in time. It just also feels like everything is just happening too quickly and way too early.
Taryn
I do generally fall more on the D side of this where it's like, yeah, I mean, keep the information tight. If you need to expose it at some point. It's usually pretty easy to be like, oh, yeah, that's a thing that started early, but it never really meant anything. Or like, oh, they approached us at some point. If you, if you're like, need to like, oh, yeah, that was like. Like a day or two ago. I didn't have a chance. You know, there's all kinds of ways that you can generally smooth it over. And even if the explanation isn't rock solid, like, what are people really gonna do? It's better that they didn't have the information to kill you with than for them to be like, oh, that's annoying, but you're still all of my allies. So, like.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Taryn
I think the real issue though, though, is that Devin's did it without consulting D. That's the thing I would be the most upset about if I were D. The fact that he just kind of like did it on his own and it's information that's pertinent to me. I'd be like, I don't know if I can trust this guy. Not only as like a potential loose cannon, but if it's not a loose cannon, then it was an intentional move to be like, I'm sharing this information with you and not D. And I'm worried about both of those things.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, I think it was much more the Rick Devins just being a loose cannon and just being somebody who is going to like improv. He loves chaos. I think that there was.
Taryn
He.
Rob Cesternino
I think he felt really bad about what happened, but Dee was really upset about this.
Aman
Yeah.
Mary Krakowski
Rob, you talked to Rick, you know, at the. At the Survivor 50 finale and he waxed poetic about how great of a game player he thought that Emily Flippin was. Did he take maybe too much from her gameplay of sharing too much information?
Rob Cesternino
Maybe that could be it. But also, you know, Survivor 50 was a. A very like, there were almost no secrets in Survivor 50 that, that really sharing information was currency and I think it was how you built trust. And I think that Rick is probably taking a lot of that into Survivor 50 of. Okay, the way I'm locking in with people is I'm sharing all the information that I have and I think that it's probably something that is not going to translate as well to this Big Brother season.
Mary Krakowski
And I was just gonna say, like, Rick is. We've, you know, talked about how, like, how he's a great personality to be very entertaining on Big Brother. And I also, I don't know him personally, but I could see him coming into a game like this going Oh, I just really want to enjoy the experience and do a lot of fun things and throw stuff at the wall, and I just wish he would sit for one second. Go. I'm actually in a great spot and could do really well in this game, but I just need to slow down. I just need to slow down. I don't actually need to do all of this. I'm not even. I'm not on the block. I'm not cornered. I don't need to be using information as currency yet. Like, yeah, I want him. I want. I want him to know, like, you're. You're fine. You're fine. Chill out.
Rob Cesternino
It's okay.
Taryn
To be fair, I guess. I think. I think if I'm reading Rick correctly, I think that, like, this is him just settled. Like, these are my allies. We're gonna joke around about the red corner. Isn't that a dumb name? Like, yeah, we're gonna.
Aman
Like, let's just have it all out.
Taryn
Yeah. Him and Christian joking about setting up the fake idol, you know, like. Like, he wants to just be with his people and not have to deal with, like, which secret do I tell which person to. To these people in particular.
Aman
It was interesting, though, because, like, correct me if I'm wrong, but did he say to Angela, like, Angela's, like, my real number one? Is that what he said in the Doctor or did I.
Taryn
He was implying Angela and D are, like, the. The real.
Aman
Okay.
Taryn
Like, allies.
Aman
Okay.
Mary Krakowski
I think.
Taryn
I think.
Mary Krakowski
Yeah, Angela might have said that. I think they've all basically said okay,
Aman
because I was like. At first, I was like, okay, that's interesting. So it's like, you are. You're siding with Angela in this side of things, which I think is good for you, because I think at the same time, like, we said, D is certainly, like, she. Like, when they. When the red corner came to her and said, hey, well, I guess not the red corner at that point, but Kamu, Chuck, and D. Haley came to her and were like, yeah, so, like, let's. Let's bring in Devin. She's like, let's do it. But, like, let's do it on a preliminary basis. Like, we'll. We'll see how it goes. And I thought that that was very interesting because I feel like it. Again, it's like, really just like, she's setting herself up to be in a four with Devin's attached, as opposed to, like, all five of them together. So in the. In the instance that some ish goes down, Devin's is the one that gets kicked So I thought that in the event that that's what she's doing. Okay, Devin, it might behoove you to actually be like, all right, well, Angela, this is what's going on. You hear it from me, but it doesn't seem like that's what he's doing. It seems like he's just kind of just you know, just letting it all hang out. So we'll see. We'll see.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. I do think that based off of tonight's episode, I think that Rick Devins is going to have maybe 300 confessionals over the course of the season if he makes it to the end.
Taryn
How many news reports do we're gonna.
Rob Cesternino
You know, that we've talked all the time about the people who will take the producer suggestions in the diary room. Rick Devins, 100%, will be very game to play ball with the producers in the diary room. So Rick is going to have a dominant diary room, and he's gonna, like, really. All through these episodes, you're gonna see a ton of Rick Devins, which I think is gonna really help him, especially when we have a fan vote coming up.
Aman
Yeah. Yeah, I'm excited. I mean, by the end of the season, he might be trying to come for Julie's job. Listen. I'd be surprised.
Taryn
Listen.

Let's talk about how also the formation of the crossovers and how that came to be. Uh, we saw that it was kind of a natural thing for Rick and D and Angela to come together and the first person that they bring in is going to be Drew. I don't think we're spoiling too much from the live feeds. Taren to say that Rick and Drew have a pretty close bond.
Taryn
Yes. And you, you could see that Rick clearly is seeing Drew as like his guy. I think if Devin's was to break out of the vet grouping, I think it would be with Drew. I think that like, you know, he, he just sees the, the kind of like enthusiasm for the game that, that he appreciates. And so you can, you can tell on the feeds too that anytime they get together, I, I feel like he's most excited to be around Drew.
Aman
Yeah, I mean, it's kind of endearing. I kind of like this little, this little duo going on. It really feels like Devin's is like really taking a liking to him and kind of like sees him as like a, I don't know, maybe like a nephew type figure and it's kind of sweet. And I think that Drew obviously is A big fan of both shows. I mean, we know he's a big fan of rhap and I guess this is the time for me to let you guys know that. Yes, I did. I did let you guys know that.
Rob Cesternino
He.
Aman
He did. He did. Message me. I can read the message right here.
Rob Cesternino
Yes. What. What did team Drew say to you, Aman?
Aman
He said. Hi, Aman. I just wanted to reach out and extend my sincerest period. Apologies. Period. I was clearly unfamiliar with your ball knowledge, and that is entirely on me. As somebody who not only drafted Davon first in all Stars, but also have the right mind to give Taylor Hale a 10 in her first week, it's clear that your knowledge is far ahead of any of the other drafters. The fact that I reached out to them honestly should only serve as an example that you are truly the greatest drafter as you didn't even need any insider information to get the right choice. Drew was the absolute steal of the draft, and he's going to go. He's going to work so hard every day to prove that every person chosen before him was a mistake. Congratulations on winning the big Brother draft, and I look forward to seeing Drew win this season. Wow.
Mary Krakowski
Lovely.
Aman
Yo. He has somebody employed. Okay. It is the biggest, like, campaign spokesman I think that we've ever seen in the preseason. It's crazy.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. Shout out to Aman's elite ball knowledge.
Aman
I live. I live. Yeah.
Rob Cesternino
All right. So that was the easy one. Then they wanted to bring in Barrett, who was excited, but then did mention that Barrett felt a little. Some type of way about how that feeling very much like that he was a second pick for the draft.
Taryn
Drew, I've been talking a lot about how this alliance is. Is, like, it's just textbook. They're doing everything by the book. They're doing everything the way that they're supposed to be doing it. This is one of the few instances where, like, oops. Forgot to make sure that Drew and Barrett were brought in in a way that makes them feel like they're in on the ground floor. That said, they are three vets bringing in two new players. I think they're always going to feel that way. And.
Aman
And.
Taryn
And I feel like Barrett saying this in the doctor is probably more just kind of like covering like. Like, I just. So you guys know, I'm aware that I was brought in last.
Aman
Yeah.
Taryn
The reality of the situation right now for Barrett is that not only is this alliance helping keep him off the block because there are people pushing for it, but he doesn't Have a ton of other options at the moment in terms of like, you know, at least people, connected people. He does have some good relationships. But. But, you know, his. All of most of his eggs are in this basket right now. It's not like it looks like. Or. Or it seems like he's willing or capable to. To do anything else at the moment.
Mary Krakowski
And considering the fact that we've seen in previous seasons an alliance of seven or eight or nine people get formed and the people who are seventh or eighth or nine in it are just like, yay. I'm so happy to be in this alliance. Like, I think it's showing me the. Barrett's at least aware enough to be clocking that this is happening the way it is, which is great. Speaks to him, you know, strategically. But also. Yeah, there's like a. Okay, worst case scenario, you're fifth with three returning players. That's pretty good.
Aman
Yeah.
Mary Krakowski
Not bad.
Aman
And again, like. Like you said, Terence, there's really not much that they can do about that. Like, you can't say no, obviously, because then what. And then on top of that, even if they were in the room, I still feel like we'd probably be getting a doctor from Barrett being like, it's three returnees. Like, clearly they're doing this to solidify something for themselves and they feel the need to bring in other people so that it doesn't feel like a big target for them. But yeah, I mean, there's. There's not really that. They don't really have any other option other than to bring in other people because they can't win the game with just the three of them. They have no other. They had no other choice. So it's better to be included in that choice than. Than not at all.
Taryn
So it is also probably worth pointing out because it obviously bring. Being brought in last is a red flag. Everyone knows this. But there is nuance to that. Like there's a difference between being brought into a five person alliance on day two last versus like a seven, eight person alliance on day seven, where it's like, hey, we were thinking of pulling you in. You know, it's still so early and the numbers are so small that the dynamics could change very easily. Like being fifth is fine at this point. And we see players like this who know the game often feel a little, I think, over. Skeptical of being brought into something like this at first. You know, Quinn obviously had that fear in with the Pentagon. And what we saw was ultimately the Pentagon did completely shift and Quinn was actually really well positioned in that group. By the end of all of that shifting, Michael was concerned about it with the Pose Pack situation, and, you know, to some degree, rightfully so. But again, things changed over the course of time. He ended up in a really good spot. So, you know, I think that this isn't something that people need to be too, too concerned about, especially in the short term. So worth worth pointing out, it's still a red flag. Be aware of it. But, like, you know, how dare you
Mary Krakowski
make me remember Pose Pack.
Aman
So, yeah, I forgot about that, too. Do we love the name crossover, though? Because I feel like in some ways it completely. I mean, it's uninspired.
Rob Cesternino
What are they, an suv?
Mary Krakowski
Yeah, it doesn't make me think of anything.
Aman
It's uninspired, first of all. But if I were Drew and Barrett, I'd be like, this is all about you. Like, the three of you, like, Big Brother and Survivor players crossing over. Like, I'm a new Big Brother player. I'm not, like, an established Big Brother figure. You know what I mean?
Taryn
The worst part is that just a few seasons ago, a Survivor player and the brother of a Survivor player and some Big Brother players came together and thought, you know, what would be a good name for this? Crossroads. The Siri Corey alliance was called Crossroads, which is the better version of this name, which is just like, a very similar concept. They came to, like, almost the same conclusion, but with a slightly worse sounding name, which is crossovers.
Aman
Yeah.
Taryn
In my opinion,
Mary Krakowski
it's not too late to change it in the feeds. It is too late to change it on the show, though. They've already done that. And this is where we're at. One thing about having both D and Devin, are we going with Devin's. I have him as Rick in my notes. Okay. Devin's man. All right. So the one thing about Dee and Devin's on this that's so interesting is, like, how much more Survivor references or, like, metaphors are we going to get? Because we already had Rick in this episode say, oh, it feels like the merge. There's so many people, which is not really something we had with Siri just by herself. Like, who. Who's she gonna make these, you know, jokes to? So I'm just curious to know, like, it does feel very much more Survivory for the first time than even having, like, one individual Big Brother player go on Survivor or something.
Taryn
Yeah, it's an interesting thought. I think it's. I think, especially, like, Devin's and D are a lot more aware of the differences in how the Game plays. So we might hear more comments on it. Like, in many ways, siree died so they could thrive. Like, she. She came on here and was hit in the face with the difference. And then everyone was able to analyze that. They were able to talk to Surrey, I'm sure, and realize, like, oh, okay, I need to be prepared for how different the game plays out and the pacing and everything. And so. So, yeah, I think they not only are more ready for the pace of Big Brother, but they. They might talk about it more, like, actively, like, okay, on Survivor, I might be doing this. In fact, I am hearing some of that from Devin's in terms of, like, him playing his threat level down. He's saying, like, the thing I'm known for on Survivor is tricking people with idols and stuff. There's none of that here on Big Brother. I can't trick people on Big Brother, so. So, yeah, I think. I think we'll hear some.
Aman
Some comparisons, if anything. I just love that we're getting more and more empirical evidence that Big Brother is the more challenging game to win, and it is much more of a marathon than it is a sprint. And, yeah, we. We knew this to be true, but I just love being proven right.
Rob Cesternino
Again, I want to talk about something that happened with the crossovers in this episode where they were having their meeting. They're up in the hoh room, and Camus rings the doorbell. D says to Camu, hey, can you give us 10 minutes?
Aman
Yeah.
Rob Cesternino
I thought this was maybe a misstep from D. She's supposed to be in this alliance with Kamu. What reason could she have to tell him why he couldn't come in the meeting?
Aman
You know, I mean, it definitely gave me pause, but the way that Kamu actually waited out there, I'm like, you know, I mean, she's probably. She's just gonna have to say to him, like, look, like, you know, they. We. They had a. We had, like, a meeting about a potential alliance. It's.
Taryn
It's.
Aman
It's nothing, though. Like, it's not gonna happen. Like, and I feel like Kamu is the type to, like, really, really eat it up because he sees Red Corner as. As fact and the way of the land. And so I. I don't. I don't know. I don't. I don't think it's that much of a misstep. But I definitely did have, like, the reservation because she was so direct with the 10 minutes. Please. I'm like, 10 minutes is a lot. You could have at least said five.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Aman
That's a long time.
Taryn
I'm assuming that was like, probably around the time she was doing some like directed convos. Maybe not specifically one on ones, but like directed conversations about like nominations and stuff. I think the fact that Devins is in there too, gives him some reassurance that it's not D walking out solo on the alliance, I, I had the same reaction, my same, the same instincts of like, oh, how are they going to kind of get out of this clean? This wasn't on the feed, so I don't know exactly how it was resolved, but as far as I'm aware, there's zero suspicion on common spire.
Mary Krakowski
Maybe it's because I've been around a lot of like new parents, but it's like a parenting tactic to like give time warnings of like, oh, five more minutes. Okay, you know, three more minutes. One more minute.
Taryn
And as we know, Dee has four children, right?
Mary Krakowski
Yes. Instead of just dropping right to the like, oh, yes. Okay, conversation over. Come on in. So I felt like I was like, oh, this is good because D being the hoh, like now's the time to set precedents that like, I'm not going to drop everything necessarily just to, you know, have a conversation. So I thought I, I actually kind of liked it.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. I don't know the HOH room etiquette well enough. It just seems like it would have been better to just let him in and say that we weren't talking about anything, we're just hanging out up here rather than to not have him come in.
Mary Krakowski
Yeah, probably, that's probably, Probably a smarter move.
Aman
Yeah.
Rob Cesternino
Okay. Talk about the nominees because I think this was kind of a wacky night in a 90 minute episode for the three noms where we didn't really get to see too much of what went wrong for these three nominees. We did see a segment with Mallory being a little awkward with D. I'm curious to know from the feeds, has Mallory on the feeds given this same type of awkwardness?
Taryn
Not to this level. I think the edit, you know, emphasized the awkwardness. She is an awkward person, but I think the edit sort of magnified it. This is what they do very often. If we're to believe their, their timeline, then De had already decided Mallory was her nominee by the time this conversation happened, which is also going to impact how it lands. Dee's obviously not going to be like as interested in being open and talking gameplay with somebody she plans to nominate. And so clearly Mallory understood that she should be talking to the hoh, but didn't have A lot to say and wasn't getting a lot from her and just kept trying and trying and trying. And unfortunately for her, I think her fate had already been sealed.
Mary Krakowski
Yeah.
Rob Cesternino
We saw Mallory also as part of the three girls who were working out in the gym. And Camus said, okay, well, Mallory and Melody and Lyric are kind of close, and so maybe we should put them up on the block. That's what he was thinking. As far as Yash and Taylor goes. Taylor, I'm trying to even think if she had a moment in this episode or if we're just going off of that. Rick Devins didn't say hi to her on Big Brother Unlocked, and that's the reason why she's on the block.
Taryn
Yeah, that's. I think the biggest missing piece for me was I was hoping for more of an explanation as to why Taylor was on the block and what happened with that Devin's situation. Because basically all we got in the episode was D saying, Taylor hasn't talked to me at all. And that may or may not be true. And we know that there was an incident with Devin's. We just don't know where it went. Did anybody catch on to it? I would have to assume that's the biggest reason for why this might have happened on top of the fact that Taylor does lack some significant connections at this point. But. But other than that. Yeah, we don't really have a good
Mary Krakowski
explanation which bedroom Taylor is in.
Aman
She's.
Taryn
She is in. She is a. Have not. So she's. Yeah. So she was in the group with. With Chuck and. And Haley and. And who? Oh, I think it was Drew. I mean, this is the thing, right? I mean, that explains it. Without having to do anything else. Drew is not going to be nominated. Chuck was safe, and Haley's in the red corner. So it had to be Taylor by default.
Rob Cesternino
And she doesn't know that.
Taryn
She doesn't know that. Yeah.
Rob Cesternino
Okay. And then Yash also. We saw nothing of him in the whole episode other than him not liking the PDA from Roman Lyric. That's the only time I think he talked in the episode.
Mary Krakowski
For sleep, the creaky wheel, or hearing people mackin right next to you.
Aman
I cannot tell you how many times as I had the. The feeds on in the background in my apartment.
Mary Krakowski
Wasn't sure where this was going.
Aman
And I kept. And I kept hearing that little creaky noise.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Aman
Yeah. And I was like, is there a mouse in my apartment? Like, what is going on? Like, it was freaking me out like, every five seconds. Anyway, Sorry.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. What was the other moment that Yash had?
Taryn
He talked about how he helped D win with the puzzle, and. Which was pretty. And. And so something that they didn't really show, which maybe just didn't really happen, is that, like, there was talk of detailing her team, like, you're good because you helped me win, and then didn't really give Yash a heads up that that was no longer in play. So. So that's worthwhile. But. But Yash also just hasn't really been doing a whole lot in terms of making connections. He has, like, connections here and there. But Yash is the person who probably knows the show the least and really just does not know what he should be doing to not be in this position.
Rob Cesternino
And correct me if I'm wrong, that we did not get any preference for a target in the episode. Right.
Taryn
Not in the episode, as far as I'm aware.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. Okay. We had some other fun moments over the course of the night, and we had a. Jason's big moment from the night where that he talked to Angela about how he doesn't know how to connect in this house with all these straight people.
Aman
You doing this because I'm gay?
Rob Cesternino
Rob, I was really going to you for your Drag Race expertise.
Aman
Yes. No, I, I, I, I actually teared up a little bit. I did. I. Because I, I get that, you know, it's, It's. It's hard. It's hard. Being on. Being on Drag Race, you are surrounded by people that support you, love the art form, love the entertainment of it all. And yes, I mean, I've heard plenty of drag queens, and not even. Not only drag queens, but just performance in general, talk about how their performance is their shield. Right. And so to not necessarily have that at all times, because I'm sure production probably gave him rules as to how often he can be in and out of drag. And on top of that, I'm sure he just kind of just wants to be himself. And I'm really enjoying Jason, because I was just thinking about this earlier. This is a very rare instance in which you really get to see these drag queens from Drag Race actually be themselves. Because, yes, there are a lot of famous drag queens that go on after the show and continue to produce content or whatever, but it's always Drag Race adjacent. They always still kind of have that veneer of their drag Persona. But I feel like I'm actually getting to know Jason the person and not Selena. So it's been very interesting to watch him navigate through this. But I thought that this moment between him and Angela was just absolutely, just like, it's just beautiful. And I love that it coincided with Angela's own journey with her son. So like, recently too. So, I mean, I. I get it. I sympathize with him in there for real, because sometimes it's hard. It's hard to like, know, like, are you the type of straight person that's going to be, like, talking shit behind my back or am I good with you? And it's kind of hard to always be able to tell. So I'm happy that he's at least able to have Angela as his mama bear, as she so puts it.
Mary Krakowski
Yeah, it was a little weird from the episode though, of not giving us any. Like, we have this big moment and then we never hear Angela mention Jason again in her list of people she likes. So I know that there's more on the list.
Taryn
I think it was just a moment that they shared. Yeah, I. I do think this was. This was illuminating to me in terms of, like, how Jason has been moving on on the feeds. You do see him focus a lot more, I think in like one on one situations. He's developed some good relationships with the people that I think he feels the safest with that he likes the most. But. But we've seen that he's been very sort of avoidant of certain other people, which is, you know, potentially, you know, gonna maybe put him in a. In a rough spot in the future. We'll see. But. But it's so interesting that, like, you know, he. He could have come in as an icon and he would have, I think, just automatically had an alliance with, with Angela, D and Devins. He could have also chosen to tell them that he was on Drag Race and probably been included in what they were doing. But as we saw in the premiere, Jason has a lot of distrust for Devin's in particular and is probably the. One of the most, like, anti vet, you know, presences in the house.
Mary Krakowski
Yeah, it might be hard to tell now, but did anyone do any investigation to see whether or not Angela was following him on Instagram?
Aman
Yeah, but I'm sure she. I mean, if she follows drag queens, especially of the recent seasons, it would not be surprising if. If she knows.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, that was a fun moment in the episode where Angela thought she recognized Jason and it turns out that. That Jason was Ainsley at one point in drag. And it was like, is. Is he gonna get busted?
Aman
I was shocked that he admitted that because, like, that's like the direct link because, like, if you, if she can remember and put two to two together. Oh, you're the drag queen that was there from Ripoff's Drag Race at the press day. Like, I I just, like, that was. I was shocked that he even went that far. Like, why are you giving her more info?
Taryn
Just be like, I think that was just, it was just panicking. Like, this is how you know me. Not. Not Drag Race.
Mary Krakowski
Not Drag Race. It's just because that one time I was. You probably just saw one picture.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, but by the way, Chad is saying that she's not following Jason.
Mary Krakowski
Okay.
Aman
Okay.
Taryn
So Chad also told me that I I missed it. D did tell her team that they were good prior to pressing the button

we got a showmance segment with Rome and Lyric and we got to see a little bit of that all came to be and very much they were playing with itag.
Taryn
Is that what Lyric says?
Rob Cesternino
Yes. And they were both. They happened to be each other's type and they found each other in this crazy Big brother house. Did did you catch the shady Big Brother producers posting the what day it was? And I believe this is the first time they said but still day two when Roman Lyric were getting into bed.
Taryn
I love it.
Aman
Listen, maybe Love island is a psyop. I don't know but I'm just like okay, sure. Good for them.
Mary Krakowski
Love island, very popular big brother trying to get some of that action.
Aman
Yeah.
Taryn
What I really loved about this segment is that they that they like made fun of it it even. Even though I think that they're like, like to be fair to Rome and Lyric, we've seen many times this is very a very common occurrence. You know The Big Brother 19 feeds opened to Cody and Jessica making their first baby. You know what I mean? Like like this is this happens a lot. And and if you watch Love island they're like at make out about five seconds in. So, like, this is where I. I'm desensitized to think. But I liked that they were having fun with this instead of trying to sell me that this was like, some whirlwind romance.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Taryn
Like they often do, because that's not interesting. But seeing, you know, the people around them be like, oh, they're making out at night, and this is only day two. Like, that's a fun segment for a showmance, in my opinion.
Aman
She said two days is crazy. Yeah, it is. But you're, you know, you're in the Big Brother house, and that's just what's going to happen. I mean, they were really turning the volume up on those.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Aman
I was like, jesus Christ.
Rob Cesternino
Can we talk about the setup for this particular bedroom? Because this is. This is new in the Big Brother house, Right?
Taryn
This bunk bed room, Relatively. Yeah, they had the bunk beds last season.
Mary Krakowski
Okay, I. I didn't notice. Is there a mirrored wall opposite the bunk beds? Like, could people in a different bunk see in the mirror?
Rob Cesternino
Oh, interesting.
Mary Krakowski
Like, because sometimes there. There is, like, a mirrored wall above the dresser. So I just wasn't sure if that was the case here, because I think, you know, at least if there's not a mirror, there's the illusion that, like, well, they can't see us because we're in our own little pod.
Aman
If there is a mirror in there, this.
Taryn
This is where Ava overheard people talking about her. That's right.
Rob Cesternino
That's right.
Taryn
You really. You really get, like, you know, quarantined into your little pod, and you think that there's nobody. Like, it fits so many people, and they just, like, swoop it into the wall that you kind of forget that other people might be there. You have. You're living in your own little bubble.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. Let's just talk about some random moments from the episode, and then we can get into the weekend on the live feeds. But it was a fun segment when we did our introduction, and we got to know a lot of who has the hots for whom, including, we mentioned Haley. Drew had the hots for Mallory. No, Melody.
Taryn
Melody, Melody, Melody.
Rob Cesternino
Sorry, I did it to Taryn. Yeah, yeah, we know. Rome has the hots for Lyric. Taylor says Yash is a cutie.
Aman
That's a. That's. That's an interesting one. That could be cute.
Rob Cesternino
And. And Barrett says D is his survivor crush. More on that to come.
Aman
Oh, yeah.
Taryn
I will tell you, I think every single one of these has had at least a tiny bit of resonance on the feeds.
Aman
Okay,
Rob Cesternino
can we talk about that? Ashley has never had a burger.
Aman
She's lying.
Mary Krakowski
I think it's probably extremely likely that she's lying, but I also was thinking about, like, I've done this. Like, I did. I've done this. And it's. It's. It can be true. But, like, who did it? Someone on Survivor was like, I didn't eat any fruit. I've never had a grape before or whatever. Like, oh, I've never heard of pineapple. What is that? Like, this is a move. This is a move that. It might be true, but it's probably like she was saying. It's like, well, I've had all the components of a burger, but I've never stacked them up before. So I haven't had one. But, like, yeah, and I've never had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich before last year. And. And, like, people find that funny, but, like, that's. What are we doing?
Rob Cesternino
Is that real, Mary?
Mary Krakowski
I. Yeah, well, yeah.
Rob Cesternino
Do you have a peanut allergy?
Mary Krakowski
No, I just don't, like. I don't like the consistency of them together.
Aman
But that means you had to have had it to know that you don't like it, right?
Mary Krakowski
I mean, like, I probably, as a kid was handed one and took a bite and was like, no. But, like, does that count as having eaten one? Yes, I've tried it.
Rob Cesternino
It just seems odd that. That you would have. You would want a hamburger and you could not at any point find the opportunity to have the hamburger.
Mary Krakowski
She's not a vegetarian.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, right.
Taryn
Well, that's. That. That's the thing. Like, it. It very well could be and likely is real. But the problem is it's clearly on purpose. Like, you know what I mean? Like, this is her fun fact, and she has purposely decided that it's very quirky to have never eaten a burger despite having all of this foreknowledge of, like. But no, I am not a vegetarian. And yes, I have eaten all of the components, but never a burger.
Rob Cesternino
Like, do you keep kosher? No.
Mary Krakowski
Sometimes people do things for the bit, you know, like, I'll see Bullet Train in theaters five times. Because that's true. To keep doing.
Rob Cesternino
Remember that.
Mary Krakowski
Yeah. Remember that Sometimes you just do things. And I think that this is very clear. Like, it might be true, it might not. Doesn't matter. But it's a bit. It's her thing.
Taryn
This is my thing with it. I think it's a failed bit if it's. If it's, like, intentionally done as a fun fact, because it's no longer a fun fact that you don't. That you haven't eaten a burger if you did it on purpose so that it could be a fun fact. Unless your fun fact is that. My fun fact is that I purposely have never eaten a burger so that I can use it as a fun fact. That's more interesting.
Aman
Yeah, I don't know. I think she's full of it. She had a burger at some point, and I think that it was just a really cool and interesting thing to say. I don't know. I just. I mean, you're a bartender, for goodness sake. Like, burgers are all over the bars. Like, I just. I. I just don't buy it, but. Okay. Okay, sis. All right. That's fine.
Rob Cesternino
All right. Any other fun moments from the episode?
Taryn
Good stuff. Good episode.
Aman
It was good.
Taryn
I think the fact that we got the competition out of the way early and the rest of it was just like all good content.
Aman
Yeah.
Taryn
Exactly what we needed.
Rob Cesternino
Okay. All right. So with that, let's go ahead and let's talk about a very busy weekend of everything we've learned on the live feeds and what's going on today as we bring in the spoilers. Here we go.
Taryn
The office of Civil Defense has issued the following message. This is a spoiler warning.
Rob Cesternino
A spoiler warning means that an actual
Taryn
spoiler against this country has been detected and that protective action should be taken.
Rob Cesternino
Yes, I remember. I have a Rick Devins puppet. I don't have a d. I don't have a D puppet.
Mary Krakowski
You have until the next episode to do that.
Rob Cesternino
I don't think I can do a D impression. I think that's probably. I can't do it. But let's talk about the live feeds and everything that's going on. And Taryn, I know we've learned so much and we had our nominations. We also had a veto over the weekend.
Taryn
Yes, there's a lot to lots to talk about. So as we know, D the HOH nominated Yash Taylor and Mallory. Mallory was the stated target for a little while, but over time, discussion started to turn to Yash as more of a comp threat that if he stays on the block, maybe we want to target him. And ultimately it didn't matter whether or not Mallory's target shifted off of her because she ended up winning the veto and of course plans to take herself off the block. So the main question on everyone's mind, who is going to replace her? There's a whole sort of thing with Melody that we can talk about, but ultimately the Answer is Ashley as a replacement. The reason being D has nominated one from every group. The remaining group are the two people that did not play, Barrett and Ashley. She's obviously not nominating Barrett, and Ashley doesn't really have many connections or anybody that will put up a fight for her. So Ashley makes a lot of sense as a pawn to put up on the block next to Taylor and Yash. Yash being the primary target, Taylor being the backup target. If Yash wins the blockbuster, why is
Mary Krakowski
Yash the primary target?
Taryn
Because he is like, more fit, more stronger competitions.
Aman
He was right behind more with the bros. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, it makes sense, I think, you know, as far as D is concerned. Yeah, like, Ashley is a little isolated. I think that most people enjoy Ashley. She just, it doesn't seem like she spent a lot of time talking hard game. I think the most game that we've seen her talk is when D was telling her she's gonna go up. So I don't really know what she thinks she's going to do if she doesn't, like, ramp things into high gear. And a lot of this also was of the other nominees also pushing, namely Taylor kind of pushing for this to be the case. So, yeah, it's, you know, I, I, I don't think it's a bad backup decision. I think that D is gonna have something to worry about if Mallory wins because Mallory has been very vocal about being like, well, there has to be repercussions for putting me up. So if I win next week, D's going up. So that's going to be interesting coming down the line, but, yeah, it makes sense.
Rob Cesternino
Can we talk a little bit about the house dynamics overall, that I feel like we talked a lot about the crossovers tonight. We talked about the red circle, but is there another, like, organized group that is more of the newbies coming together with an anti returnee? Slanted a bit.
Taryn
Yes. I actually, I, I prepped a little bit of like, I've got some faces if you want to make me big on the screen. Sure, I can, I can pull.
Rob Cesternino
I want to be.
Taryn
Hopefully you can see this. Yes, it's. There we go. So we've got this is. I've sort of arranged these faces. If you're watching the video version of this, uh, in the way that most people say see the structure of the house. So most people see this red corner.
Rob Cesternino
We're going to full frame on, on Taran. Just so we're still, we're all still here.
Taryn
Most people see this red corner. Alliance of Camus, Haley and Chuck as the, the people influencing D. The hoh. That's what a lot of people, they don't know about the Red Corner alliance, but they really see this Haley, D, Kamu and Chuck thing as influencing D. They do see that D is connected to Devin's and Angela in some capacity. Some people feel more strongly than others about how strong that is. Jason in particular is very vocal about the fact that these three are really tight and working together. Then you have like, people like Drew and Barrett who are seen mostly as like having decent relationships, but like out floating on their own. Barrett and Ashley's loosely grouped together because of their time not competing. You have the trio of Lyric, Melody and Mallory, but Melody is really looking to get out of here. And you have Rome and Lyric, the showmance. Latrice really tight with Rome. Jason really tight with both of them. Latrice and Jason also tight. Latrice and Taylor both really close. And Yash has a connection to Taylor and Latrice. He's got a few connections elsewhere, but not really anything super solid. And Mallory's still kind of struggling to get back in. So that's how people see the structure of the house. Now we know that, that things are actually a little bit different. We know that Drew is actually really in tight here and they're here and that this is fake and that Melody actually has a secret alliance with Drew that he's told the rest of the crossovers about and he's saying that we'll use her as a parachute alliance. Ashley is really like, you can now see out on her own. Mallory is like, you know, closer to this side of things. Really doesn't like D and Haley and Camus and wants to nominate the three of them. Jason is doing his best to organize this group of Rome, Lyric, Latrice like this, these people, he wants those people to be anti vet. He's going after Devins, he's going after D. And as far as I'm aware, that's solidifying more and more as we speak, like during the, the episode and, and what's happening right now. So the problem mostly honestly is that Roman, Lyric are so focused on each other that they haven't really been like locked in on the game. And, and so this, this like anti vet group is not the most organized at the moment. But, but you know, it's certainly something that could come into play. The, the benefit of what D and Devins have set up is that if anybody goes after, you know, this like the D side of things, they're probably nominating people like Haley and Kamu alongside D. Jason himself might put up like a Devins and D and, and maybe all three if he really wants to go for it. But most people would do like D, Haley Camus, maybe D, Devin's, Haley, something along those lines. At which point of course they would. The rest of the alliance and their subsequent sort of like people can try to protect D, Devins, whoever else might get nominated. So that is the, the general structure I think of the house here.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, I'm sure having three nominees from the non vet side of the house might also start get people talking about like hey, this is, maybe we're, we're being led to the slaughter here.
Taryn
Yeah, yeah, they, the problem is they don't see how locked in that group is. Like I said, they see it as, you know, D is with Kamu, Haley, Chuck, D has a connection to Devin's and Angela. They don't know that D has a super locked in alliance with Devin's, Angela, Barrett and Drew and that Drew has Melody and that Barrett has his own connections and Angela has developed her own connections. You know, even Jason who I think is clocked them the most is like Devin's, D and Angela are super locked in. We need to worry about them. Doesn't see the Barrett and the Drew and that's a problem.
Rob Cesternino
Jason really has it out for Rick Devins. I saw that, I saw a, a post that Jason is saying that Rick Devins is stealing his jokes.
Aman
I mean, I think, I think Jason is also just sort of like a fans fan and he understands that Devin's until Survivor 50 has kind of been a little bit on the, the, the list of the fans for quite some time. So I think that he's just like really like locked in on that sentiment which, you know, I mean it's interesting. I mean it, it, it's, it's certainly. I don't think it's a bad thing to be anti vet. I mean I think we see this time and time again where we want, we want the newbies and I say that, you know, with quotes with him. We want the newbies to, to rebel and not let them get, you know, let themselves get steamrolled. But, but I also think like you have to have a little bit more of an initiative because I feel like right now he's kind of just, you know, I'm kind of like in and out on it because it seems like right now he's really just planting seeds and like letting people know, hey, this is what's happening. It's not good. We should do something about it. But I don't really see anything really coalescing behind it. It just seems like he's just letting it be known.
Rob Cesternino
I think it'll be interesting to follow over the course of the summer if the crossovers, you know, vets, if they continue to prosper, at what point will the audience also turn on them? And it'll be interesting to see because I, I really feel like that people will start to root for the people who it Tarot. It's Big Brother. People are gonna want to see the power flip.
Aman
Yeah.
Mary Krakowski
Fans are fickle, fickle things. You know, we, we love, we love overturning the returning players and the vets.
Rob Cesternino
Yes.
Mary Krakowski
Unless we love the vets, then, then we don't want that to happen. And. Yeah, I mean, I guess, I don't know, like, you know, if Suri was in power the whole season, it would be like, oh, this is great. Top ten. We love this. So I think, yeah, if you, if you, you like Angela and Dee and Rick, you're rooting for this. And I do think, think from a purely early game perspective, it is a smart thing for players. Wow. Especially the vets have power to want to be on their good side. But also every time we have any reality TV show or something like this happens, a lot of people are going to say, why is no one turning against the vets? Are they dumb? Don't they know they're not going to win? You need to get together and, you know, have them out. So, yeah, we want some people to do that for sure. The best Big Brother is when the power shifts multiple times.
Aman
See, I thought. Rob person. Sorry, go ahead.
Taryn
I just. Rob, to your point, I think the world where this crossovers alliance starts to dominate is a world where it is possible that Rome and Lyric are the fan favorite showmance of the season. And I'm not getting.
Rob Cesternino
I could see it.
Aman
I mean, they were in the. They were in the center of your demographic, so.
Mary Krakowski
No, I'm, I'm sorry. I can never root for someone who turns their back on the competition in a cool gut.
Rob Cesternino
You didn't like that?
Mary Krakowski
No. It was the most ever seen.
Taryn
You do tell me that. Every time we end a podcast and I do the post.
Aman
So I do.
Mary Krakowski
I say, taryn, stop. The only people who are seeing this. He even does it when he's on a podcast by himself, which is wild.
Rob Cesternino
How do you know?
Mary Krakowski
I know.
Aman
Not the tea.
Rob Cesternino
Taryn, could you give us a sneak preview about Barrett And D. That's what
Taryn
I was about to say. Yeah.
Mary Krakowski
So.
Taryn
So basically right before the episode, Barrett and D were having a lengthy conversation in the hoh room. And. And honestly, like, to me, the vibes were, like, a little awkward. They don't actually spend a lot of time together because they're doing well at, like, hiding their relationship. And it felt like they were using a bit of, like, flirtiness to help break the awkwardness. D is a generally flirty person, I think, has been with. With multiple people in the house. And Barrett as. I guess this hasn't been said on a podcast, but Taylor talked to me on stream about her interviews and said that she was actually flirting with Barrett, mistakenly thinking that he was part of the Alphabet mafia, and then only realized afterward that he was not. And I was like, oh, whoops. And so. So, like, I've. I've been thinking about, like, Barrett really comes into the big brother 28 house feeling real good about him. Like, I was really crushing with Taylor there.
Mary Krakowski
And.
Taryn
And so, you know, he's going to have a lot of confidence y and
Mary Krakowski
straight when you're flirting.
Taryn
It's very interesting to see that he has a crush on Dee because he was flirting with her a bit earlier today. Will that go anywhere? Who knows? But there was certainly something.
Aman
Yeah. Yeah. I was gonna say that, like, I thought if there was going to be any returnee besides. Or not returnee, but anyone that's, like, a fan of the game, that would be sort of like, okay, let's not let the vet steamroll. It might have. I mean, besides Jason, it would have been Barrett, but it does feel a little like she could have him.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Aman
Wrapped around RIP to this man. Like, I think he's about to get eight on up.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Aman
And like, yeah. I mean, hey, Barrett is very queer coded. He is not queer. He's a straight man.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, but who said in the chat. No, he's just from Austin.
Aman
And I think that he like Taylor.
Rob Cesternino
That.
Aman
That is so funny, Terry. But I don't think that Taylor's the only one to have thought that, because during the premiere episode, I caught that little interaction between him and Ashley, and I forget what the exact conversation was, but Ashley ended it with a yes. I was like, oh, she thinks you're gay.
Rob Cesternino
You're not.
Aman
But he's not.
Taryn
Jason literally, like, asked him because he had assumed and was like, oh, I was so surprised when he told me he wasn't part of the mafia.
Aman
Yep, yep, yep. I mean, he just, you know, he's just. He's a straight man. That is just not super bro Y. And that's fine. You know, I live for it. I. I kind of love that he has to, like, come out as straight. Welcome to the club. All right.
Rob Cesternino
Anything else, BB28 here tonight?
Aman
I'm. I'm having. Yeah, I'm having a good time.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, we're eating. This is.
Aman
This is a good. This is a good first start. Yeah.
Taryn
Yeah, it's. It's. It's night and day from last season, you know where, like, if this was last season when. When Kamu said to d like, oh, I think you need to put up Barrett, she would have been like, I guess I have no choice. I guess I need to put a Barrett from my alliance. It's. It's genuinely, like. It's refreshing to me briefly, at least, to. To see people actually play the game well. Now, will that get boring quickly, slowly? I'm not sure, but it's. It's just like, okay, this.
Rob Cesternino
Right.
Taryn
Right. This game can be played well.
Rob Cesternino
Okay. All right, let's talk about what else is going on. We announced last week Rahabcon was happening, and it's gonna be in August 26th to the 28th in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Aman
So to win the season, who am I rooting for?
Rob Cesternino
Cover the chat before we Talk about this.
Taryn
None of them. None of them. But if one of them has to at this point, Brittany Brinity is probably fine. Yeah. I'm not gonna lie.
Mary Krakowski
Didn't know you could win Love Island.
Rob Cesternino
Yes. Team Anybody but Sincere. Get out of here.
Aman
Yeah, he's good.
Taryn
The problem is I'm team Anybody but Sincere. And the problem is that all of them are team sincere on the show, which is why I'm team anti them. But, like, what are we gonna do?
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Taryn
Yeah.
Rob Cesternino
All right. So thank you all so much for joining us. We have so much more from the big brother world coming to single day here on rhap. Thank you for joining us. Such a fun night tonight.
Taryn

Rob Cesternino
Bye. A lot of folks listen to Robbit's podcast because they want to get smarter about Survivor. But when you want to get smarter about your money or your time, you got to check out all the hacks. The host is named Chris Hutchins. He's a financial optimizer, not like Emily flippin. He sold two companies, he traveled to over 60 countries mostly for free, racked up millions of rewards points, and every week he breaks down exactly how he thinks about getting more out of life without spending more to do it. It's one of those shows where you finish an episode and immediately want to change something. Two episodes worth your time. Episodes 170 on cash back versus points, which reframes how to actually think about credit card Strategy, and episode 176 with Nick Reyes redeeming points for maximum value. It really pairs well between the two, you'll have a completely different approach on how to get travel rewards. No fluff, just proven playbooks to travel better, spend smarter and design a life you're excited about. Every episode has at least one thing that you can act on the same day. Search for all the hacks. That's all the hacks in your podcast app, hit follow and start upgrading your life today. Hey, it's Ryan Reynolds here from Mint Mobile.
Taryn
Now, I was looking for fun ways to tell you that Mint's offer of unlimited Premium Wireless for $15 a month is back.
Rob Cesternino
So I thought it would be fun if we made $15 bills, but it turns out that's very illegal. So there goes my big idea for the commercial. Give it a try@mintmobile.com Switch upfront payment

Hosts: Rob Cesternino, Taran Armstrong, Aman, and Mary Krakowski
Theme: The panel recaps the first Sunday nominations episode of Big Brother 28, filling in pre-live-feed gaps, breaking down the formation of alliances, examining returnee dynamics, and previewing live feed developments for Week 1.
The main focus is recapping the first nominations episode of Big Brother 28, exploring how returnees (Dee, Rick Devins, Angela) are shaping the early game, the formation of key alliances, the blending of Survivor and Big Brother strategies, and how the newcomers are reacting to the initial power structure.
Rob (02:56): “We got a lot to talk about from a very busy weekend and a busy night of Big Brother. And we’re excited to bring in a man who’s been on fire all weekend. It’s Taran!”
Mary (05:57): “I did not have time to watch the Big Brother Unlocked yet… Otherwise you end up—the last one ends with Rachel in the volcano and starts with halfway through this puzzle. I’m like, hold on!”
Returnees (Dee, Angela, Rick Devins): Enter with immediate influence—Dee wins HOH, their association becomes central.
Survivor/BB Comparison: Returnees in the first HOH position often do well, paralleling Nicole Franzel (BB18) and Cody (All Stars).
Taran (07:44): "If you get a person who knows what they’re doing into the most powerful position… we’re probably going to see some good things."
Angela’s Role: Not a ‘legendary winner’ but embraced for her fun character; players speculate production may want volatility later.
Taran (14:32): “From the Red Corner’s perspective, they are the main characters of Big Brother 28.”
Mary (15:46): “Was this a little weird to anyone else? The way the conversation went down… It was like he was speaking and realizing, ‘Wait—this isn’t a positive thing to be saying in front of her…’”
Taran (22:00): “If you really, really plan to go deep with Angela… you might have to take this risk [of revealing info]... which she did.” Mary (25:20): “With the second phase of telling Drew… obviously this was worse than telling Angela.”
Aman (43:39): “If I were Drew and Barrett, I’d be like, this is all about you… I’m a new Big Brother player, I’m not… an established Big Brother figure.”
Showmances: Immediate chemistry with Rome & Lyric, “first showmance” segment—edit pokes fun at how quickly they paired up (still Day 2).
Taran (64:15): “They like made fun of it… Instead of trying to sell me that this was some whirlwind romance… seeing people around them react—that’s a fun segment.”
House Connections: Flirtations, crush admissions (e.g., Drew on Melody, Barrett on Dee) noted for their potential game impact.
Jason’s Vulnerability: Moving segment of Jason (drag queen from Drag Race) expressing difficulty connecting with “all these straight people.” Moment of solidarity with Angela, who relates it to her own family experiences.
Aman (54:38): “I actually teared up a little bit. I did. Because I get that… you’re surrounded by people that support you… but here he just wants to be himself.”
Fun Facts: Ashley’s claim she’s never had a hamburger—panel is highly skeptical.
Aman (66:54): “She’s lying… you’re a bartender, for goodness sake. Burgers are all over the bars—I just don’t buy it!”
Taryn (07:44):
“If you get a person who knows what they’re doing into the most powerful position in the entire game... we’re probably going to see some good things.”
Mary (09:30): “And the other one is Angela… One of my favorite things is returning people on reality shows where that person is not like a winner or almost winner or known for being, like, the world’s best.”
Aman (54:38):
“I actually teared up a little bit… this is a very rare instance in which you get to see these drag queens from Drag Race actually be themselves.”
Rob (66:54):
“Can we talk about that? Ashley has never had a burger?”
Aman: “She's lying.”
Taryn (72:23): “Because he is, like, more fit, more stronger competitions…” Aman (72:29): “[Ashley] is a little isolated… she doesn’t seem like she’s spent a lot of time talking hard game.”
Crossover group (Dee, Rick, Angela, Barrett, Drew) is tightly aligned; returnees have more power than newbies realize.
Anti-vet efforts? Jason is sounding the alarm, but the anti-vet newbies are disorganized and lack focus compared to the returnees.
Taryn (74:13): [Detailed visual breakdown of house structure with alliances and connections]
Potential for power shift: The more the crossovers dominate noms and power, the more likely newbies will resist (panel expects fans to root for a power flip eventually).
Aman (84:58): “He’s a straight man that is just not super bro-y… I kind of love that he has to like come out as straight.”
| Alliance | Members | Status / Notes | |---------------|-------------------------|---------------------------------------------------------------------| | Crossovers | Dee, Rick, Angela | Core power, expanding to Drew & Barrett | | Red Corner | Camus, Haley, Chuck | Think they're running the game, unaware they're not in main alliance | | Showmances | Rome & Lyric | Active, but distracted from game strategy | | Flirty Pairs | Barrett & Dee (flirt), Drew & Melody (parachute) | Potential side stories, not full alliances | | Anti-vets | Jason, Latrice, (trying to recruit Rome, Lyric, etc.) | Disorganized, effort not fully coalesced |
Recommended for: Fans wanting a rich, fast-paced recap with alliance maps, house politics, and panelist banter delivered in RHAP’s signature conversational style.
Skip to (~70:13) for live-feed Week 1 spoilers.
“Good episode, good stuff. Exactly what we needed.”
