Getting to a great idea is hard in college. Nonsensical essays, cringe inducing presentations, and seemingly unsolvable problem sets. But then the first thought becomes a final thesis. Jumbled slides transform into a polished keynote. And that midterm assignment gets a lot less mid because the road to great ideas is littered with bad ones. You just have to keep going until something clicks. Great ideas start on Mac. Find out more on Apple.

Hello everyone and welcome to Rob Has a podcast. I am your host with Mad Riz Taron Armstrong here today to update you. To not update you, but in fact recap you on tonight's nomination episode of Big Brother 28. It's a Sunday night and I am joined tonight by Puya. How you Doing Puya.
Puya
I'm doing good. I'm doing good. Not often we get to hang out twice in one weekend talking Big brother. So I'm here tonight, happy and cannot wait to break down Wrestlegasm with the two of you. Should be a fun night.
Taran Armstrong
Wrestlegasm Mania with me to talk through all of it as well. It's Grace. How you doing, Grace?
Grace
I'm doing well, Taranpu. What if I said. What if I told you I'm very excited to be on this podcast? What if I told you I'm very excited to be on this podcast?
Taran Armstrong
Oh, yeah, it's gonna. It's gonna be a big podcast.
Grace
Yeah. Big podcast.
Puya
Yeah.
Grace
Yeah. Just don't. If I happen to be on this podcast, don't tell anyone I happen to be on this podcast. Yeah, this is a joke with the dumb Barbie.
Eva Jovic
That's fine.
Taran Armstrong
All right. Well, it was, I would say, in comparison to last Sunday's epis, that was a good episode. This was, I thought, a fine episode. We had the wrestlegasm. We had the HOH competition. Kamu's win some nominations a little. Will they, Won't they? Showmance brewing. Some. Some mad Riz and some failed Riz and ultimately some nominations here on a Sunday night. What do you think? What.
Apple Advertiser
How.
Taran Armstrong
How was the episode for you?
Puya
Well, it's interesting when I. When I get to talk Sunday episode, because Sunday is basically the Thursday night feed, slash, a little bit of Friday. So it's like we've already lived through this together. But I will say there were some fun moments for me, but then also some audacious moments where, for example, I don't know why and how they did it. I'm impressed almost that they were able to figure out a way to bring Rome and Lyric into the future and into this episode. Somehow they shoehorned that in. But, I mean, I think the episode was fun for what it was. I think getting to see the stuff with Devin's power, I think as well, we're gonna get to break all of that down now on, like, the main timeline, which I'm excited for.
Taran Armstrong
Yes, yes, for sure. So we opened this episode with, well, first, I guess, a hatching one. Angela Murray hatches from her egg is now free. She was worried that the egg might have inhibited her ability to compete in the HOH competition. I actually, she would have been fine. I guess maybe the biggest issue would have been fitting into the booth.
Grace
That sight lines. Maybe in the little. You got blinders on. Maybe it's better maybe focus.
Taran Armstrong
Yeah.
Puya
Right, yeah.
Taran Armstrong
Really hone in, not distract it. And so Angela's now free. It's. It's a great costume, I will say. If you're not watching the feeds, you know, it's funny in the episodes for her to go like, oh, this is so miserable. It was maybe like the reality of the misery was maybe a little harder on the. The feeds themselves. I feel like we love the costume, but maybe there's like some more ventilation they can give for these poor people who are having to wear it. But that is it for the egg costume. And then we finally get to wrestlegasm for a good, like 20 minutes. Like, we're like, before the H. Like the HOH competition started at roughly the 20 minute mark, which meant that there was, you know, around like 15 plus minutes of pure wrestlegasm.
Grace
Darren, if you could have a wrestlegasm rather be long than short. Right?
Taran Armstrong
I. You know what? Kyle might disagree, but you have a point.
Puya
We're looking for more than a two count here, folks. Yeah, it's. Listen, I said this on the. On the update on Friday. I still, two days later had the exact same question. Why did we go with Gasm? There are other names, famously. There's wrestlemania, there's Russell Palooza, there's Wrestle Fest. There's so many.
Taran Armstrong
You.
Puya
There's something out there that's not being used. We couldn't have gone down the list and said, you know what? Gasm is the only available one. Let's go there.
Taran Armstrong
Maybe they did.
Grace
I do feel like I think Taryn made this point. Maybe on a live it updated. Like, it does feel like the success of Love Island. They've been like, it's a show's always been like showmance heavy, but they're like, we could probably push it a little further. We have.
Taran Armstrong
Listen, this is the show that all the way back in the day was advertised with sex, like. But. Except the thing is, I feel like wrestlegasm isn't sex. It's. It's just. It's. It's in fact more childish than that. No, like, we've gone backwards. We've regressed to like a more sort of like middle school version of like. Like,
Grace
I. I have to say I've been saying this to some people that I've. You know, it was always a bit embarrassing to be a wrestling fan for a long time, and then finally I feel I've come over that. And then the big brother managed to make me embarrassed to be a wrestling fan again.
Taran Armstrong
Well, listen, if it helps, I. I have the Feeds up next to the video for the. For this podcast. And I'm watching Jason take a condom, put it on his mouth, and blow it into a balloon. Oh, my God.
Puya
Those are condoms. I didn't even clock that they don't have balloons in the.
Taran Armstrong
So, you know, this is the show we're watching.
Eva Jovic
So.
Taran Armstrong
Wrestlegasm. Wrestlegasm is here. It's Jesse Godders. I've gotta say, Big Brother 10 took place, what, in, like, 2009? Ish. A good, like, 17 years ago. And Jesse looks great. I mean, speaking of balloons, he has not deflated an inch, this man. It's impressive.
Grace
Hey, looks great.
Taran Armstrong
I find it impressive.
Grace
Yes. I don't know how much he's wrestling. Yeah. The concept of this, I thought, was very fun. I think the amount of time we spent on it, maybe, but otherwise of, like, the. The HOH competition of, like, watch. Watch a thing. I was quite. I thought it was quite fun to watch Jesse Goddard's come out and put on a little wrestling match.
Taran Armstrong
I agree. And this is. I mean, I feel like I say this too much, so I'm not gonna spend too much time on it myself, but, like, I feel like the wrestling portion was pretty fun. And, like, the whole. The whole show of it was pretty fun. It just was about two times as long as it needed to be. If. If it was, like, 16 minutes, it should have been eight minutes. Like, I feel like the main thing is we didn't need, like, every two seconds for a diary room to interject, to be like, whoa, it's Wrestlegasm. What am I watching? Get ready for. And then the announcer started saying things, and who popped out but Jesse Godders. And, like, there were a couple of funny ones. I liked Drew talking about Jesse's dad, but I just think, in general, we're like, we're doing too much. We're doing too much.
Puya
Yeah. I think that there was clearly a presentation component to this where they wanted it to feel like a. Like a wrestling match was being announced. I think they succeeded in doing that. Obviously, part of the comp was to remember what was happening. But I do think ultimately, for and for them, it must have been a lot of fun. I think if I was in the backyard, I'm loving every second of Wrestlegasm. We're getting a whole match here. But I also do think that we could have shortened it. But I also kind of feel like we can always shorten a lot of these comps. We get a lot of exactly. Repeats and repetitive. Like, this was a booth comp. That took a lot longer than I think it needed to.
Taran Armstrong
For that reason, I think they just don't have faith in their booth comps. They. They have increasingly upped the production value on the booth comps, which, again, I'm not even that mad at, like, in that. In many ways, that's doing what I've advocated for, which is that, like, you know, competitions don't need to be overly physical in order to be big production. I just feel like, you know, another thing that I don't love is competitions that take, like, 20 minutes of airtime. But. But, you know, speaking of. Of Rome's Pokemon cards, this is probably the closest the show gets to, like, watching anime because it's like Dragon Ball Z with, like, move.
Grace
What?
Taran Armstrong
Oh, my God. With. With Jesse doing this, I have to watch to see which arm he's using. Is it this arm? Oh, my God. In between, like, every small thing. But we get through any. Any highlights. Grace to the wrestling. As a wrestling fan, I. I thought the.
Grace
The actual story of the match is, like, you know, perfectly fine and good. He's like, gotta fight two people. They're gonna try to cheat. His valet comes in and saves the day, and then he wins. That's a good. That's a good story. It's nice and clean. I mean, it wasn't clean. There was a lot of dirty shenanigans going on. But good story.
Taran Armstrong
Out of the petite packtaculars come in.
Grace
Yeah, I feel like it's. What's funny is that, like, they said it in 1985 and trying to make, like, Jesse Goddard's like, the ultimate, like, Hulk Hogan babyface. And he's not exactly the, like, the pretty boy is not a gimmick that I think would have been, like, cheered spectacularly in. Or pectacularly in 1985, but that's what we get.
Puya
He comes out to a theme song that does say the words pretty well. I have two questions. I have one question. Was it AI Generated? Because if it was AI Generated, I'm fuming. I don't love that.
Grace
I think it probably was AI generated from. We'll see. I don't know.
Taran Armstrong
I have absolutely no clue. What I was more concerned about was if the newly reinstated big brother Canada was going to have any copyright claims here with the all this pretty boy talk. That's right.
Grace
He even did the little. I think he did the finger on the chin, I believe.
Taran Armstrong
How dare he? Yeah, how dare he?
Puya
Yeah, we're gonna get a lawsuit from Adele because this is too close to Celebrity Fight Nights.
Taran Armstrong
All right, so we do get to the HOH competition, and it is a pretty interesting one. It really does come down to the wire here for the red corner slash the tool shed. We do get Barrett saying about, like, 15 times that he's like, did you guys know that I was the last person to be brought into the tool shed? Have I told you this yet? So I'm. I think I might turn on the tool shed, which I actually don't mind how many times they did it because I loved the payoff of when Camu wins. Going, I gotta get t tool shed tattooed on my forehead. I'm buying the merch. Like, I'm all in.
Grace
Yeah, that was. That was great. It's a little fun. It's funny that the. The comp. I feel like so many people on this side of the house are, like, itching to sort of tear apart their own side, and then the guy who seemingly is going to be a little bit status quo ends up winning. But, you know, it is what it is.
Taran Armstrong
Yes, they did do a lot of that. They were like, oh, man, the entire other side of the house is taken out of this competition. Things are looking pretty good. Oh, man, my entire side of the house is looking pretty thin up there. We're in some trouble. And it's like, oh, we know. We know what's coming here. Fantastic job, by the way, from Devins, I thought, really put all of himself into hosting this competition. I don't know what kind of damage has been done to his vocal cords, but he really put them on the line for us here.
Puya
He went all in on the macho man, and it paid off to the point where I thought. Did the paper. Did the sheet say do a macho man impression? I don't think so. I think that was just all Devin's. I think that was Devin's through and through. So I did like that as well. I want to point out that Kamu said, and I'm quoting here, as an MMA guy, I cannot lose the comp that's in a boxing ring.
Grace
Just all wrong.
Puya
It's a wrestling ring. Wrestling comp. You're an MMA guy. This ain't the Octagon.
Grace
I do think that this is. I mean, I think as maybe, you know, I don't know how much we'll talk about, like, some of the stuff, the feelings about Kamu. I think, like, even wrestling is one of the things. Like, I don't really want to be involved in that, but this is close to being a thing I am familiar With. So I will call it a boxing ring and not. I would never be in a wrestling ring, but I shall be in a box.
King of the Hill Advertiser
That's fake.
Puya
I don't do fake that 100%.
Grace
Yeah.
Taran Armstrong
So we do ultimately see that Kamu comes away with this win, steals it out from under, like a group of six people who were left in the. In the competition, including Mallory and Lyric and, you know, like a bunch of people that he's about to put on the block. Rough, rough spot for them. And really, let's be real for some of us too, who are maybe hoping for a little bit more of an exciting week this week. A little bit of a status quo change would have been a little nice, but. But Kamu wins it. And. And he was also, like, strangely confident. I thought, like, as. As Devins was reading out the names, it already looked like he knew he had won. I was like, how does he know? Like, how does he know? But. But yes, Kamu with the win. We talked about this Puya on Friday that Kamu is probably the person who is going to be the steadiest hand at the. At the. The rudder of this ship. I don't know how ships work. Is it the wheel, the rudder, the mast. Either way, he's gonna. He's gonna make the obvious kind of smart move, which is go after people that have been gone after before. In particular people like Jason and Mallory. And that's pretty much exactly what we get here in this episode.
Puya
Yeah. I mean, as far as the tool shed as a whole went, a lot of them are not bad. They're messy, right? They're messy or they are capable of being messy or overthinking or overplaying or, you know, being indecisive. Whereas K has kind of shown that very simply, he's looking for one or two decisions, one or two options. They're already clear. They're cut. And that's where we ended up. So it was. I was unfortunate as it was. We can't always win because we did have the very messy reign of Devin's last week. Grace.
Grace
We did.

So with Kamu as the hoh, like I said, things are looking relatively straightforward. But what we do have here is a little bit of a will they, won't they going on. We have a little bit of a Drew and Mallory situation, which is very interesting. I. I personally feel like the edit is. Is like, all right, let's. Let's introduce these two. These two chuckleheads and see how the audience. Because, like Lyric and. And Rome, they didn't know how to do it. This is not how you win the favor of the audience. The audience doesn't like a romance that already exists the second it happens. The audience, bit of tension. They want a little bit of back and forth. They want a little bit of a, nah, this isn't going to happen. No way. But then they can't help themselves. Oh, no, they're too cute. Oh, no. They just are falling in love despite themselves. And I feel like that's exactly what we're getting here. Grace.
Grace
Yeah. We want like early season Jim and Pam in the office. We want late season Jim and Pam. That's so boring. So, you know, seems.
Taran Armstrong
And I think I said Mallory, so I apologize.
Venmo Advertiser
You did.

Grace
Okay. Thank God it's not a live feeder who just listens to your updates every day. I was like, I guess I was just hearing it wrong. And I guess what I saw on the screen was not what I was seeing on the screen. And I missed the whole scene, so.
Venmo Advertiser
Phew.
Grace
But I did. I buy it. It feels like they're like, not really. It's like. It's like they're not gonna try it.
Botox Advertiser
The.
Grace
It feels like this is the show hoping it will happen more than. It may be being real, but we'll see.
Taran Armstrong
Well, it's okay.
Grace
Okay. All right. All right.
Puya
Yeah, listen. They lost their. They lost their Roman lyric very early. I think they had a lot of stock in the showman segment with them. Drew, Melody. There's a chase, maybe not a like this to me, and I'm not saying it's a one for one. I don't even think they are similar players like that. But I remember the early days of AmeriCorps Nation. I remember when it was like, something could happen, but it was a resistance. I don't know if I want to do this. Like, I'm not about that right now. And then look what happened, like, three weeks later. So I think that this is a little bit more like that. I think also, you know, maybe too early to talk about it, maybe perfect segue to talk about it. I think this puts you in a good spot for the time capsule for next week. I think he's definitely a leading contender now with this combined with whatever we see next.
Taran Armstrong
That was my first thought. My first thought was, who is being set up to get the next time capsule. Angela already got hers. Devin's has now gotten his. D is theoretically the next in line, but D has not been as prominent in the edit as Devin's or Angela so far. So theoretically, this is an opportunity for somebody new to get it. And. And to this point, it does feel like Drew has been one of the most prominent new players in the edit. He's been getting a lot of, like, Drew gets. Has the right read on this situation kind of stuff. He's making jokes about Jesse's dad. He's now in a will they, won't they showmance. And. And there's even more where it's like, this will they want they, won't they showmance is a little bit in danger because people are looking at them. And so I could very well see Drew coming out as a leading contender in the next time capsule vote. And it seems like they're already setting that up in the edit here. Grace.
Grace
Yeah, the other moment that he has is before the. The. The hoh comp, him and Barrett talking. And I do think, although he gives sort of the answer, that you might be inclined to think that America, he's kind of giving the. Like, I'm actually don't want to win this because I have too many people I like. I'm. I feel like he does still come off great, as opposed to Barrett, who's saying, like, let me. Let me try to put, like, let's get at it. And I. But I do still think he Came up very positive.
Taran Armstrong
So.
Grace
But more so just another segment he has in the episode to just keep building, you know, some. Some fandom, maybe.
Taran Armstrong
Yes. I think another possible contender edit wise starting to gain some traction here. Maybe Lyric. I feel like Lyric's been pretty prominent. We've seen a lot of her and Rome. I think that Lyric is probably lagging behind Drew in terms of, like, the casual fan base, but she certainly is prominent. I think she's funny in the episodes and. And I think this whole subplot of, like, her being like, I need to distance myself from Rome, and then they cut to a bunch of making out and then they cut to her with Kamu. I think it's so funny. I worry that, like, a more casual audience might be a little more, like, weird about it, which is maybe what might hold her back. But, like, I think this is phenomenal content. I'm loving Lyric in the episodes.
Puya
Yeah, I think I did really enjoy seeing Lyric actively recognized and like, I know, like, I'm risen. I'm done doing what I need to do out here. I love that. I do not think she's gonna be getting like. I think the edit is favorable. I do not think it's going to be taken like that by a majority audience who are going to look at it and be like, she's playing in that young man's face. He's so handsome and he was so kind and he sacrificed himself for her and he loved her and he gave his all moment to like, they're gonna protect and protect this grown man, who, by the way, is fine. He's gonna be okay, but they're gonna villainize Lyric. That's how I see a lot of people perceiving this, which I don't love. So I worry about that. But me personally, I'm here for it.
Taran Armstrong
I agree. I agree. We also get some great Mallory content. Loving Mallory, like, wanting to go to war. This was really, like, depressing to me, watching the beginning of this episode as somebody who knew the outcome of the hoh, seeing all these people that were like, I'm ready to declare war to FL on its head, and then knowing that it didn't happen, I was like, man, a Mallory HOH would be so fun.
Grace
Yeah, that's like. It's. I think it's like, I mean, maybe other than Lyric having one and that sort of feels like the most, like, from the bottom to the top, the dream, you know, next HOH moment. I do think Mallory would have been good. But such is life.
Taran Armstrong
Such is life. So of Course, speaking of the powers, we also see Devins get the second time capsule of the season. He goes in to the spinny room or I guess it's called the time capsule, literally where they. He then like opens what looks like just like, like a little mug, like a little like what is it? Like this little canteen, Like.
Grace
Yeah, yeah.
Taran Armstrong
And he gets his chance on the spinny chair. Now here's some live feed details. According to how Devin's described this. We saw a little bit of it. He was like, then I figured it out. I locked in. Devin's basically told D later that that you can spend as long as you want watching the. The thing happen around you all the like the pattern. And he was able to find a pattern. He said in particular he was looking at Power 4 and then noticing where the selector moved off of Power 4 every time. And he noticed that like two times it would go to a punishment and then the next two times it would go to a power and the next two times it went to a punishment and so on and so forth. Something along those lines. And so once he was able to figure that out, he was able to time it so that he hit it on roughly power four and then it landed on power five. And just like that, Devin's has got a power and. Oh boy, Puya, it's a doozy.
Puya
You have touted this as probably the strongest power we've the game has ever seen. And it's for one simple reason. One simple reason only. Six weeks is a lot of weeks. That is a lot of weeks, dude. That's a month and a half. That is half of the season. That is 45 days. That is a lot of. A lot of days to basically have a God idol in your pocket. For the Survivor fans who have converted this season, it's a lot.
Taran Armstrong
It's like, it's like the God. It's like if a God idol also on top of keeping you safe after the votes allowed you to flip a Mr. Beast coin to send out whoever you wanted in your place.
Eva Jovic
50.
Puya
50, right.
Taran Armstrong
Roughly. But quite frankly, it's better than 50 50. Like whoever you put in your place has a 33% chance of winning the blockbuster. So yeah, you know, but that means you have to have a majority in order to have the votes to send that person out. But in the hands of the majority. This is exactly what it does. Well, yes, if you consider the fact
Puya
that your alliance currently is just on a W run right now. Multiple weeks having the power whittling down any opposition and then the Opposition finally wins. One puts, let's say two of you up or three of you up, one of you wins, the veto comes off, you use this, you come off, you put a replacement in that. HOH also cannot vote in unless it's a tie. So that means more of your alliance is still probably off the block. So it really does pause any underdog momentum if it comes to that. And you know, you have expanded on this and other people have brought this up that, like, if used as a leverage, if used as a. Not blackmail, but if used as a tool, a bargaining tool to not get nominated, this genuinely could just allow you to control or have a hand in controlling 5 weeks of HOH and then just automatically using it on the 6th.
Grace
Anyway, the thing that's wild to me is, like, I have heard you talking about this power and how powerful it is, and I do feel like there are genuinely a few reasons why this could in some way, like, be bad for Devins. I think, notably, Angela is one of his closest allies, and he's choosing not to tell Angela and then the fact. And not that it would blow up. But there is the blockbuster, which is different than any time we would have seen the diamond power of veto before. And yet it's. It's still like, super powerful and too powerful. It's like it's such a good power to have won for Rick Devins.
Taran Armstrong
Yes. Just to. To sort of outline this one more time, we've seen this play out before on Big Brother with Christie and the upgrade diamond veto. And even with other powers that very season, there was another power that was similar and with like a co. Hoh, which is essentially kind of is in many way like, you don't even have to threaten the HOH with it. You certainly don't have to wait until you've been nominated to use it. You can go to the HOH and say, hey, I want to work with you. Let's work together. Let's find something that works for both of us. And yes, the person who has HOH in that spot can choose to ignore you. They can choose to target you anyway, put you up on the block, put your friend up on the block, put a third one of your allies on the block and call the bluff. Then you use the vita, the goal, the diamond veto. You replace yourself with the weakest and closest ally of the HOHs. They lose the blockbuster, you vote them out. They just took out their own ally on their own hoh. They have to risk doing that. Like, it is such a barrier of entry not to Mention they need to know exactly who you're at. Like, just being an underdog in that spot in the first place is incredibly difficult. You're facing a majority. You need to blow them up. It takes a lot of courage. It takes a lot of knowledge and, and adding on top of this massive disincentive of the diamond power of veto and is just so much more difficult to accomplish anything like that. So basically what this means for me is that Devins is guaranteed jury. This, I mean, this lasts. This goes through to the final 10. That's the last time it can be used. Meaning if he uses it properly and effectively, he's guaranteed jury and he's potentially even guaranteed at least one, maybe two of his other allies to jury as well. It's an incredibly, incredibly powerful power, especially for it to be. For it to last so long. And given that we've already learned the identities of the other powers on unlocked, there's not a lot that really contests with it. Even the coin of destiny, the Mr. Beast coin of destiny, it can't really compete with the diamond veto. You can use the coin of destiny, overturn an hoh. You still have to deal with whoever holds the diamond power of veto and who. Who might have their own say in what they want you to do that week. So it's a lot.
Puya
It really is a lot. Yeah. I mean, you also, not for nothing, if you're nominated up front, you can still compete in the veto first and then see how you feel about it after. Like, did I win? Do one of my allies win? Like, you get options. You have outs. It's just getting more. Even more outs. Now it is in the hands of the Devins, which means. And Devin's proof last week could be bored. Could do a little chaotic, could do a little tv. That's entirely possible. However, as things stand right now, great spot to be in. If I'm him. I'm buzzing Mambo. Number five power. Number five. Number five is a good number to have turns out, but yeah, I can't wait for the next person to win to get in and think they've. They're about to get something good and then they get to not be a have not for the rest of the season and that's their power and their contribution to all this.
Taran Armstrong
Yeah, I the amount of pissed I would be if I got the never not pass and then found out that Devin's had a diamond power of veto for six weeks.
Puya
The same powers are equal.
Grace
Yeah, the same.
Taran Armstrong
You want to trade Devin's. I know you don't like having to eat that slob, you know? All right, so we also got, of course, the Kamu plan. Jason, the primary target. We see that Drew influences to. Influences him to give him the Rome treatment, the back door treatment. Camus, who apparently fancies himself like the devil in a folk tale, is like, you're not going on the block today.
Chris Hutchins
Yeah.
Taran Armstrong
He'll never see this.
Grace
You got to read the fine print, so you gotta do it. Yeah.
Taran Armstrong
Yes. They actually kind of took out some of Jason's, like, over the top. Like, oh, my God, this is so amazing. Thank you so much. I appreciate this so much. Great diary room from Jason. Like, wait a minute, hold on. And this is very true to form. This is what we saw in the feeds. We saw that Jason was very over the top, grateful initially, and then very quickly seems to recognize, oh, he said, today I'm getting backdoored.
Grace
I did. I did, like, the moment of combo being like, hey, you're, like, basically a compass. And Jason's response was, that's pretty cool.
Taran Armstrong
Yes. Kamu did need to fully go back on his word, of course, to Lyric once he came up with the backdoor plan. We already talked a bit about that. Her. Her Riz is gonna fail her here, but. But he says, listen, I need you to trust me as I put you on the block.
Grace
I mean, this. This is the piece that I think sets up Lyric a little bit as an underdog, even. I know the thing you're saying earlier, P. I think that that's true in terms of, like, what he comes back. I do think the best part of her being a showmance is that the person she's in a showmance with is not in the show. And the way, like, that won't, like. Like, pull her down a little bit, but this scene of her, like, being, you know, told she's not going in the block and then going up on the block anyway, and it being. And then to talk about Drew again, the way that Drew is the one who seemingly, you know, turns the light bulb on for Kamu over his head to not put Jason up immediately, like, is a good moment for both of them. Maybe not. Like, I think it's probably fine for Lyric. It was always the risk the pawns go home. But, yeah.
Puya
Yeah. Well, I mentioned that Lyric is kind of in a position where she's the princess peach and Kamu literally has a doctor where he talks about how she's the damsel in distress who needs a knight in shining armor, which is exactly how he's perceiving her to be. And for lack of anything else, once he's in a position where he wants the back door Jason, who does he turn to? The one person he sees as being the person that he doesn't think anyone would want to get rid of and who has already done their spot on the block before. In Lyric.
Taran Armstrong
Something I'm curious about is that I feel like the sense I was getting was that the casual audience. We talk about the casual audience a lot. It's just the name we give the television watchers, the people who really control the fan vote, who are ultimately, you know, to no fault of their own, aside from, like, just not, you know, being obsessed with the show at the whims of the TV edit.
Grace
How dare you talk about my mom like that.
Taran Armstrong
The sense I got is that they. They kind of were into, comma, the. Kamu was kind of had some favorable ratings amongst the TV viewers. And I'm curious to see, to know perhaps how Kamu's HOA train, at least so far in this episode, might have influenced them one way or another. When it comes to Kamu, I think that, like, he's. He's not, like, been all over the place or anything, but, you know, Kamu and power is not as fun as, like, Kamu, the reasonable voice in the alliance that's always advocating for the right thing. And so I'm especially curious to see what their opinions are of Kamu as the week progresses.
Grace
Yeah, I think especially because he's on this. The side that has been in power and is, like, dominating the game. I think that could feel less fun than maybe some of these more underdogs.
Eva Jovic
And.
Grace
And then I think there's. There's also this other piece of, like, people within the power structure who are chomping at the bit to disrupt it is like they're sort of in the hierarchy of maybe who people are enjoying. I think I could see where Kamu starts to fall.
Apple Advertiser
Mmm.
State Farm Advertiser
Everyone knows that unexplainable it factor, that smile that lights up a room, that, wow. Well, it doesn't happen by itself. There's chemistry behind the charisma. Colgate Optic White Pro series toothpaste removes 15 years of deep set stains when you brush twice daily for two weeks.
Chris Hutchins
How?
State Farm Advertiser
The clinically proven formula is powered by Colgate's hydrogen peroxide complex. It works at the molecular level to gently dissolve stains deep within the enamel where your brush can't reach. It's proof that daily routine can be remarkable. That's the science of wow. Colgate Optic White.
Taran Armstrong
Well, ultimately he is going to very slowly nominate all three of these women. My first nominee is. I do it all the time because I think it's still so every time I watch it, I think it's ridiculous. Especially now that we have three nominees. We're doing three of. My nominee is. And then he gives a little speech that's like kind of a nothing speech. And then we hear in the diary room the real stuff that's like, the reason I nominated Lyric was because she's the pawn. And the reason I nominated Lala is because, you know, she's on too. And the reason I nominated Mallory is that she's coming after me. All this stuff and it was like, this is not. None of this stuff was unknown to really anybody. But we have to have these like, boring ceremonies. It's frustrating.
Puya
Being an HOH has become so easy, I find, because they do not have to say anything that'll jeopardize their game. They can do it extremely diplomatic and they can just use the same filler statements that everyone does, the safe ones, and then just tell us how they feel in the diary. I want you to have to say why you're putting them up. As you put them up. I'm putting up Mallory in front of everybody. Say why you're putting them up because now are you gonna say what you said to her to her face? You're gonna say what you said to someone else? At least that way there's some fallback that can happen. There's a lot of sorry fallout.
Grace
Not fall back. That can happen.
Puya
I want that. I want you to. I want there to be a level of double edged sword to winning the hoh and I don't want the double edged sword to be you could screw your own game like so many HOHs have done. I want there to be a. I don't want to get blood on my hands, but I'm petrified that I have to say these things in front of the house. I want a little bit of that, please.
Grace
Yeah. Taran, I think I saw you say something before the season where people were talking about the. The time travel twist and how people were like, oh, the keys. And you were like, I don't care about the key. Like, not to put words in your mouth. Well, you do care about like the HOH having to say someone's name, like, and I think that's like a little bit like, it would be a small part of what Puya saying with the fact you'd have to say that person's name Rather than just letting the board do it for you. I think, like, even that is symbolic of the way in which, like, the teeth have been. You don't have to have any teeth while you're nominating.
Taran Armstrong
The screen does it for you.
Grace
That's right.
Taran Armstrong
It's not what we want. That's not what we want. That's why, like, the. Some of the best, like, nominations in. In the modern era, in fact, almost all of the best nominations are renoms because in the veto ceremony, you name the person directly, you say, you know what, you thought you were one step ahead, but we were two steps ahead. Brett, take a seat. Or, you know, like, whatever it is. Like, it's so much more interesting when they. They actually just say it out loud. But. But for whatever reason, they're just, like, in love with their screens.
Puya
Listen, I'll just say this. When you run a Big Brother season on Brand Steel, even though they use the same two reasons every time they nominate someone in the simulation, it's, I don't like you, and I kind of tolerate you. Like, at least there's something there.
Taran Armstrong
Yes. All right, anything else from the episode that we should talk about before we get in some of these feeds?
Puya
Honestly, I think we've done our. We've done a good service to the episode itself. We can move on 100.
Taran Armstrong
All right, well, the Office of Civil

and that protective action should be taken.
Taran Armstrong
I'm watching Drew and Barrett right now do a Runway walk in dresses as they are at a tea party that we will be talking about very shortly. Okay, spoilers from the feeds. Let's talk about it. Of course, we saw Kamu nominate Lyric, Mallory and Lala in the veto competition. Lyric came away with the win. She will be pulling herself off the block, and Jason is going to be her replacement. There's a little bit of back and forth right now. There's not been a proper campaign yet for what will happen if Jason wins the blockbuster. When it's Mallory versus Lala, there are some conflicting opinions. In particular, Drew is really interested in helping lead a charge to protect Mallory against Lala. And meanwhile, the vets are more in line bets. You know, maybe Angela, maybe not more in line with keeping Lala over Mallory because, of course, she's coming after them. But the big thing is that as we've been talking, they've been having a bit of a tea party out in the backyard. And Kamu has a plan for the tea party. Now, it's important to note that in this conversation that Kamu had with Jason, when he talked about not putting him up today, he. He had Jason promise him that in return he would talk to him about the veto if he wanted. Primarily that he wouldn't use the veto if he wanted. Then he heard that Jason was promising people he'd use the veto on them. Now, it was always the plan to backdoor Jason, but Kamu was always looking for an excuse to have done it after telling him he wasn't going to nominate him that day. And so he goes, ah, I've got my excuse. Jason reneged on our deal. He told people he would use the veto on them to get chosen to play. He did play in the veto. And so Kamu wants to break the peace of this tea party. He wants to stand up and in front of everyone, call Jason out on his shenanigans and say that this is the reason why he will be nominating Jason essentially in the veto ceremony. And so everyone is currently watching with bated breath as. As Kamu, who is dressed in all black right now at this tea party, is just sort of stewing. And if I'm being honest, I haven't heard a word of this. It feels like he's. He's. He doesn't have the nerve.
Puya
Yeah, yeah. He's backing out. That's how it feels. Yeah. What happened by now, I mean, it's been over 30 minutes. He had set around the 30 minute mark was when he was going to do it. I think my read is everyone's having a good time, everyone's having fun. I think the big bad suddenly realized I don't want to be the big bad because, let's be honest, as much as Camus thinks he is this really good outward player and he has done some good maneuvers, he's done a very good social game. I don't think this man has the audacity to do this. You know why? Because look at the entire premise of his call out is, oh, I have an excuse to put him up, sir. Just put him up. You don't want him here. Why are you. Why do you need a reason to do that? I don't think he's going to do it at this point. And if he does, I'm going to be very. Oh, yeah.
Taran Armstrong
Just saying he's. They're saying he's starting. I don't know.
Puya
Don't worry.
King of the Hill Advertiser
Oh, no.
Grace
The power went out. All of our power went out. You can't hear that.
Puya
You're welcome. I jinxed it in a good way.
Grace
Yeah, that was good. Yeah.
Taran Armstrong
He is, he's doing. I just turned my audio on. He is, he's doing the cheers. We'll see if he starts up. Oh, I think he's gonna do it also. Oh, he's doing it. This is practice.
Grace
This is the closest I've ever been to a live feed update.
Taran Armstrong
He's practiced this speec speech, so he's, he's fully doing it. So we might be about to, to witness some chaos here. The, the main thing here is that is really like, is Jason gonna respond and give us good tv? Because it's like the speech is one thing. If Jason's just like, okay, you were gonna nominate me anyway, like, I don't think much else is gonna happen here. The other thing to watch out for is like, does Angela somehow get involved if Jason starts diving up and like, like using it as an opportunity to call out Drew or something? So this is very funny to watch in silence as I'm just seeing faces start to slowly drop as he does this. So, so that was. Yeah, that was, that was the, the update I was trying to get to.
Puya
You know what's funny? And we've talked about this on the update before. Kamu is long winded, Way too long winded. He is currently in the process of a 90 second preface to what he wants to call out Jason for. He's still not done it. He still hasn't done.
Taran Armstrong
Was a long speech that he practiced.
King of the Hill Advertiser
Yeah.
Puya
And it's word for word at this point.
Taran Armstrong
Yes. So listen, we'll keep an eye on this and see how it progresses. It's. It's hard to say if this will really do much of anything beyond just sort of like causing some drama in this moment. The real kicker here is, you know, Jason, if he doesn't win, the blockbuster is still the primary target. But if he does, what does this vote come down to? If it's Mallory versus Lala, and that's where things are getting a little more interesting because there are a lot of people that actually want Lala out and want Mallory to stay. But the powers that be, the real true powers of this game right now, Devin's and D want her to go because she's been targeting them for a long time. We just saw it on this episode. She said she's targeting the survivors and so can Devin's indeed sort of like manage to convince essentially the entire house to go against their, their own interests and, and Vote out Mallory over Lala.
Puya
I don't know. I. Because I do think that we're starting. Going to start to get to a place where people want their extra pieces and Mallory is actively an extra piece for a lot of people. Lala just has not been that way for a lot of people. I do think the tide could shift, especially if people start beefing in the next couple of days. I really could see people be like, okay, we need to rally the troops. We need to be ready for the next chapter. Mallory is way more of a piece to move, to use to be with than Lala is. So.
Taran Armstrong
Yeah, well, that's the, that's the primary thing is that people want Mallory in the game as a foil to that other side. And the pitch to the Survivor vets is we'll aim her at, you know, Kamu and, and Chuck and Haley. But, you know, when she's been saying the survivors for weeks now, it's a little hard to make that argument. Haley is more anti Lala than anything else, but she's so easily swayed into sort of like the direction that, that like Dean, Angela want her to go, that it's tough to make to like keep her on board. And so it honestly, it does kind of feel like the, the move is going in the direction of Mallory leaving despite most people actually wanting her to stay, which kind of continues to go to show just how much power Devins and D have in this game, even without having to use the diamond power a bit. A bit remarkable. Grace.
Grace
Yeah. That is wild.
Apple Advertiser
The.
Grace
One of the aspects of this I thought was really interesting in terms of listening to some of the live in the way in which I do think was this not the first night that Angela and D are kind of like specifically calling out Drew on the show, which I hear has been quite active on the live feeds. But is this idea that the sooner you do that, the more you're letting you're. You're cutting them free as opposed to what you should be doing in the meantime is eliminating all of the people in which Drew and Barrett would be able to go to should they, you know, break free. And I feel like the decision of Mallory and Lala seems like it would be poor for them to not get rid of Matt in terms of the. The D and Devins of it all. So see if they can sort of. Yeah. Hold on to that.
Taran Armstrong
Yes. If you're wondering what's happening, Kamu's still talking. In fact, the amount of times I've seen in the chat, it's happening now. Over the last five minutes is. Is kind of wild. And I think he finally just stopped talking. But it's really just like everyone's just kind of been watching him for the last, like five minutes. It looks like Lala has now. Is now talking. Well, Lala was part of this story that, like, Lala is the one that chose Jason for the veto to play in the veto, which Kamu was annoyed about. And, and like, the whole story is again that, like, Jason promised Lala he would use the veto on her. He promised Mallory that he would use the veto on her. And so, like, this is the whole thing, you know, so who knows? Jason is now responding, but everyone still looks like everyone's still sitting. You know, Jason, who had his arm around Lyric, is now just sort of like kept his hand resting on her head as he is speaking, which is a strange sight to behold. But it's not looking like this is becoming like a huge blow up at this moment.
Puya
No, in fact, he. The main thing he asked him after he finished monologuing was, hey, did you promise Lala you were going to use the veto? Like, why'd you promise you're gonna use the veto when you gave me your word that you weren't gonna use it? And then Lalo was the first one to speak up and say he didn't ever promise me that. I don't know who. He probably promised me that. And Jason looks to be composed currently. The voices are going to start getting raised a little bit here. So I'm excited for this.
Grace
Can I, can I ask the idea that what is the correct response from Jason? Because I do, I guess the more you're composed, the more it just seems like Kamu is maybe not. Wasn't like the right thing to have called. Right. He looks meaner. Right? He looks like more.
Taran Armstrong
I think the thing to do is, like, I don't know why you're making it like this. Look, we all know that you were planning to backdoor me anyway. Like, I don't know why you're using this as an excuse. You, you told me that you wouldn't nominate me that day, and then you also tried to get me to do whatever you wanted with the veto. Like, I'm sorry I didn't get fooled. Like, I don't know what you want from me.
Puya
Yeah. You know, Taryn, on the stock. I was on the stock watch last week with you and Melissa, and I mentioned how I couldn't sign in for week one to get my Kamu stock. Como ends up being probably, I think the best buyer. One of the best buys that week.
Taran Armstrong
He was, I think, the best buy.
Puya
I made my account right, and I was like, I'm gonna make up where I lost last week. I invested all in Kamu. I should have just sat out for one more week. I should have just collected a 20. This doesn't feel good. I feel like Kamu was being, we were saying, is in one of the best spots in the house. This is a lot. Oh, and the fight's now escalating to put yourself on the radar like this. We talked about him being a boring person for this reign because he was going to be in a position where he was going to steady the ship. And now it's all kicking off and he's put himself on his radar.
Taran Armstrong
Jason is now. He looks very animated now. I can say that. Have been raised. Yeah. I mean, here's the thing, too. It's like Kamu wanted this sort of, like, TV moment, which. Which I'm all for, by the way. Like, I think being able to refer to the tea party is. It's good branding.
Grace
100.
Taran Armstrong
It reminds me of Taco Tuesday. Yeah. Like. Like, I'm all for, like, let's start an argument at a big gathering. But. But the problem is that, like, Kamu's not really that guy. You know what I mean? Like, Jason, he's that guy. Like, Jason's gonna get in. Like, he's gonna be in an argument. I don't know if Kamu has it in him to, like, properly go toe to toe with Jason. I mean, I guess we'll see.
Grace
But I think what was interesting about, like, if the precedent is these sort of. And I feel like the. The Angela Jason nomination ceremony comes out, that wasn't, from my understanding, not so much planned. It was a reaction for, like, maybe Angela had been wanting to. I guess she had. It was very planned. Right. Angela wanted to call out Jason for the stuff.
Taran Armstrong
Yeah. Nomination ceremony, by the way, on the feeds.
Grace
So it is playing. I mean, if this is the precedent is of it being planned. The one thing I was gonna say is I feel like Jason did react in that. In that moment, but also in a way where he's sort of like, he didn't. He didn't come back. And I feel like if Kamu saw that and like, that will. That's what will happen to me. I'll call out Jason and Jason will admit that he was wrong. And we're trying, you know, like, he was sassy, but he wasn't. He wasn't. I don't know, there was like a little bit of he, he like owned up to everything that happened and maybe Kama was seeing that and missing what would happen if he tried to call out Jason.
Taran Armstrong
Yes. All right, listen, I think, I think we've discussed what there is to discuss at this point. This, I imagine, is going to make the episode. It will be, it'll be on Wednesday night. Wednesday night's episod because it's happening pre veto ceremony. So unless there's anything else you guys want to talk about from the feeds. Of course, if you're interested in feed discussion, we're live every morning 11am Eastern, updating you on everything that's going on. And there will be a round table podcast tomorrow night as well where we will be rating the players, talking about this fight, talking about the week and the votes and all of it.
