This summer, say I do.
Taryn Armstrong
I am marrying a stranger like never before.
Sasha Joseph
Am I crazy? It's a whole new married at first sight on Peacock.
Lavina Pavel
Thank God. I woke up in love with new experts.
Sasha Joseph
My name is Dr. Lisa.
Lavina Pavel
My name is Paul Brunson. Lord couples, this could be the start of a very successful marriage.
Sasha Joseph
And lord surprises.
Lavina Pavel
Or maybe not.
Sasha Joseph
Everything is just not enough.
Rob Cesternino
You're a little bit crazy.
Sasha Joseph
I don't know what's gonna happen. I want my fairytale ending.
Lavina Pavel
Married at first sight now streaming new episodes Thursdays only on Peacock.
Sasha Joseph
Morning decisions.
Lavina Pavel
How about a creamy mocha frappuccino drink
Sasha Joseph
or sweet vanilla smooth caramel maybe? Or white chocolate mocha?
Lavina Pavel
Whichever you choose, delicious coffee awaits. Find Starbucks frappuccino drinks wherever you buy your groceries. This summer. Serve up the cookout classics. Oscar Mayer hot dogs and Heinz mustard.
Sasha Joseph
Grill up a dog, add classic yellow mustard or loaded Chicago style. We all know it's not a cookout without Oscar Meyer and Hines.
Rob Cesternino
This is Rob live right now, and we are here to talk about our big brother first eviction of the season. And by a unanimous decision, it was. Ashley went home. We'll talk about what it means moving forward. And let's bring in, of course, our chief big brother correspondent. It's Tyron. Tyron, how are you?
Taryn Armstrong
I'm doing great. We had our first eviction of the season. You know, it. It was. It. It was. It kind of went according to plan, but at least the plan only came together like last night. So, like, we're. We're still kind of fine.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. A lot to unpack in terms of how we got here as things unraveled from. For Ashley. And then here with us, my sister from another Mr. It's Sasha Joseph. Sasha, how are you?
Guest or Minor Speaker
Yes.
Sasha Joseph
My bestie. We're all back together. I'm so excited.
Rob Cesternino
Yes. How are you doing, Sasha?
Sasha Joseph
So good. Listen, big brother is back, baby. That. That's what I know. It's so fun. It's already so messy. We love it. We're just happy to be here.
Rob Cesternino
Okay? And here with us, we are so excited to bring in a woman who really makes our big brother social media really pop off season after season. It's Lavina Pavel. Lavina, how are you?
Lavina Pavel
Damn. I wanted to keep a little bit of, like, anonymous anonymity now. I'm kidding. Everyone knows. Everyone knows.
Taryn Armstrong
But no, she has powers.
Lavina Pavel
Yes. Yes. Very much so. No, I'm doing great. I'm. I'm already feeling very giggly today because I'm. It's my very first Podcast of the season. I'm with Sasha. I'm with Rob. I'm with Taryn. I'm thrilled to be here. I have to describe today's episode as a very like, just nothing burger.
Rob Cesternino
Nothing burger. Well done.
Lavina Pavel
Exactly.
Sasha Joseph
Boom.
Lavina Pavel
Thank you. I was waiting for the ring, but yeah, I'm excited.
Rob Cesternino
Okay, so we're here to talk about everything that's been going on Taren, that. I know that they have live feeds that they have been advertising right after the episode. Did the feeds come back up after the episode?
Taryn Armstrong
No.
Rob Cesternino
No. Did they abandon that? What I thought it was like, oh, this season, YouTube live feed after the episode. No mention of go to YouTube to watch the live feeds and nothing's happening.
Taryn Armstrong
I assume by after every episode they meant after every episode except for the Thursday episode because we need to film the HOH competition.
Guest or Minor Speaker
Right.
Rob Cesternino
But that's the time when we want to watch what's happening.
Taryn Armstrong
What are you going to do?
Rob Cesternino
Okay. All right. So so much for that. Of course. We'll break down and tell you how it all got to this point. Yes.
Taryn Armstrong
Chad is saying the stream is up on YouTube. It's just pets.
Lavina Pavel
That's what we want to see.
Taryn Armstrong
If you're not a usual live feeder means that the feeds are down. So they are streaming something on YouTube. It's just. It's just. It's not anything.
Rob Cesternino
Okay.
Lavina Pavel
How long do they keep that up?
Taryn Armstrong
I think last time it was like three hours. Ish.
Sasha Joseph
Okay, just give us HOH comp live.
Lavina Pavel
Extend the episode 30 minutes on Thursdays. Like, that's what I want to see alive.
Rob Cesternino
Sure.
Lavina Pavel
Hoh.
Rob Cesternino
What are you going to do? So we haven't checked in with Sasha and Lavina yet during the season. Sasha, how are you feeling during BB28?
Sasha Joseph
I'm happy. It. It took me a second when the cast first came out. I was like, okay, sure, why not? And now I think just I, you know, I peruse the live feeds and listen to the updates and it's just. I'm excited. They're like, nuts a little bit. And I don't know what they're on. They're just messy enough. I like it. I'm. I'm happy to be here. And listen, Rob, you low key won our draft. So have you talked about.
Rob Cesternino
We did have a draft a couple of weeks ago of draft the returnees. There was one fraternity that came back and it was Angela. I did take her, so I don't know. I don't remember what we said the prize was, but I did. I did cameo from Angela.
Taryn Armstrong
An Angela cameo Angela or.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, do we pick?
Taryn Armstrong
Yeah, that's expensive already kind of given Rob a cameo on the feeds, but one would be great.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. Rob, you won the frickin draft. We love it. So. Okay, I will look forward to that. Lavina, how are you feeling during BB28?
Lavina Pavel
I'm already having so much fun. Like, honestly, I think when the cast first dropped, I was a little confused about the returnees. I was like, is this it? Like, is this all? I do love D. I was not familiar with Devin's, but I, like, I think I apparently watched the episode where he flipped the coin on 50 and I was like, oh, that's that guy. He's so funny. I liked him, like, immediately after his promo stuff. Like, he's kind of like my vibe. Like, if I was in the house, that would be like my bestie. Like, that would be my final two. Like, anyone who knows me, like, that's my. That's my guy. But yeah, no, and then of course, Angela's Angela. But, you know, I do want her to. I want her mask to slip a little bit more. I'm not saying it's not going to because Lord knows with that woman, it's going to. Okay, now.
Rob Cesternino
All right, let's talk about Ashley. We will have an exit interview with Ashley coming up on Friday morning. A update on the live feed update that. That will be at noon Eastern. Correct? Taran.
Taryn Armstrong
Noon Eastern is the.
Rob Cesternino
The.
Taryn Armstrong
The goal start time?
Rob Cesternino
Yes. So we have interview with Ashley is going to be at 1050. And so Taryn will jump on the live feed update right after that. Let's. Let's eulogize Ashley, the big brother contestant, a little bit. Taryn, can you contextualize Ashley's run here?
Taryn Armstrong
Yeah, I mean, it's a bit of bad luck. It's a bit of just not having an, like, aggressive enough social game. She, you know, was just kind of like making an occasional relationship. Wasn't really talking enough game with people to feel like anybody in particular wanted to keep her around. And then what we got in this episode was a very abbreviated version of her nearly being saved and then dropping, you know, a ball that was given to her to be fair, you know, down and. And. And then, you know, being evicted unanimously.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. And I'm sure we'll talk all of that through. Sasha, how do you feel about Ashley? Are you going to miss her?
Sasha Joseph
First of all, she's so hot. Like, you know, just. I feel like I just needed to say that so we, you know, a little bit less Hot house. But. But outside of that, it's like, bless her heart, you know, it's just. She was there. Was she on either side? I wonder.
Rob Cesternino
She doesn't know.
Sasha Joseph
Yeah. If. If the exact. If the red. The Red cross. Those two alliances that are actually one have actually made a mistake. Right. Because, like, maybe they could have kept her at the bottom of their alliance instead, but now we're just helping Rome and his squad, so. I'm not mad. I think I like Taylor, but what are we doing here?
Lavina Pavel
I honestly like the way that I would describe it. I was, like, tossing in between. Should I say this was a nothing burger episode, or was it, like, a yes episode? Because, like, that's the only way I would describe this whole episode, which is, like, yes, queen. Like, that's all I can. That was Ashley. And you know what? As, like, as a yes queen girl myself, like, I love that, like, I would have a good time with her. We would go to brunch, we would get mimosas, we'd have drinks. But, like, for the house, that was, like, kind of all. She was really giving. And, like, to your point, Rob, when you said, I don't think she knows. She really didn't, like, social game was literally just the, oh, I'm having a cute time. Just keep me. And you can even tell in the speech at the end, which was terrible in the best way humanly possible. She's just like, keep me cute. Like, let's have a cute time.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, I'll miss the snacks if we. If you don't keep me around. So you got to keep Matt. Yeah.
Taryn Armstrong
When. Even. When even Julie is, like, offering points on what you could do better in your speech. You know, you really dropped the ball again there.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Sasha Joseph
And there have been such terrible speeches. Right. Like, these people really just. I love everybody. Just keep me if it's good for your game. Right. Like, copy paste every single week. I'm over it. But even then, the bar got lower, and I just. I was like, girl, what are you saying? It's just. I know I'm old, but it was giving just like Jen. Like, Gen Z gibberish.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Lavina Pavel
Well, like, okay, so the bar got so low that I started, like, standing a little bit, and I.
Sasha Joseph
That's our sickness. That's how we watch Big brother.
Lavina Pavel
Exactly. I'm 30, but I speak a little bit of it. Yeah, exactly. Like, I'm technically. I'm cussing. I meant millennial technically. But, like, when you're doing. The social media is like, come on, now. We. We have To. We have to speak it a little bit.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. I think as a first boot, I think she does fit the category of being a pretty good Big Brother first boot. She's a wacky character. We'll remember she never ate a hamburger before. She ate the hamburger in the house. I think that's going to be the thing.
Taryn Armstrong
Wasted it on Big Brother.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. Five years from now, I think we'll think about her like, oh, she was the person that never had a hamburger before. So I think that she just has like a wackiness to her that Taylor didn't have. Yash, I think maybe was the more of the go on, give us nothing person. So at least as a first boot, she. There's something there.
Taryn Armstrong
I mean, Yash is. Is basically like the prototypical first boot in this latest, like, era of Big Brother, except he actually put his money where his mouth was and he won the blockbuster barely. And so, you know, not that he was the person who was planned to go if he didn't win necessarily, but. But he's actually still there. And. And that's pretty interesting considering, you know, he.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Taryn Armstrong
But doesn't really have a place.
Rob Cesternino
I do think that the story of the night is ultimately, this was a huge win for the crossovers to be able to hide their numbers here in this way. I think that having this be a 140 vote and looking like it's the whole house is Kumbaya Taran. I really feel like they walk away with a big victory even though they potentially lost this number.
Taryn Armstrong
I don't know if I'd call it a victory as much as avoiding a loss. Personally, I think that they already were primed to get away with this vote and then swerved into oncoming traffic and then managed to swerve back out. And it's like, okay, we didn't get caught, but we also didn't really accomplish our agenda. So, you know, it's certainly a victory in that sense. But. But I don't know if they're like super coming out ahead here.
Rob Cesternino
Yes. So much is going to depend on who the next HOH is and whether or not they can continue to build on what they had this week or if they're going to end up having a head on attack from somebody like a Jason ending up winning this hoh. But Sasha, for. For this group with. Specifically for Barrett and for Drew that they're able to really continue being the double agents that they've been in the house.
Sasha Joseph
And we love that for them because again, a lot of folks are like, we're fans. We're fans. Right. And then they'll show up and not really play well. I feel like Drew and Barrett are giving us a little bit of, like, that villain. Not. I don't. Villain is, I think, too harsh for that weasel floater. Yeah, that floater weasel. And I love it. I need more rats in Big Brother.
Rob Cesternino
Not rat floater specifically.
Lavina Pavel
Yes.
Sasha Joseph
Rat floaters are my favorite thing to happen, so. And Drew, right, is, like, part of the reason why Ashley kind of just combusted. So I need more Drew. I would like a Drew or a Barrett hohs to see where they land, but in reality, you know, just be a rat and cause chaos.
Lavina Pavel
Yeah, yeah. I want the most chaos as humanly possible. Like, I want Jason to win hoh. But I do think that Barrett. Barrett and Drew, in terms of the super fan archetype, I guess you want to call it, I feel like they're probably the better ones that we've had as of, like, recently, I think, so far. I know it's week one, but they're making things at least interesting.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. Taran, I know you've done a great job of setting this up for in the live feed update, but could you just give the short version of what ultimately happened to Ashley here?
Taryn Armstrong
So the episode does give, you know, a short version of it. The thing I would add, I guess, is that the reason that the crossovers came around to keeping Ashley in the first place was because in large part because of Angela's paranoia about the other side and the real.
Lavina Pavel
The.
Taryn Armstrong
The reality of the other side being a little bit more locked in than they kind of thought. And that side included people like Taylor, pretty locked in with Lala. So they came to this conclusion that they might want to keep Ashley around, and they. We sort of Tiny saw it. They, like, approached Ashley and gave her a script. They told her to go approach people and talk to them, and they approached her as a group in a way they absolutely shouldn't have. And this is why she was like, oh, I have all these numbers. Then they're working together as a group. They're not worried about hiding this because they approached me as a group. And so Ashley kind of thought she was doing what they wanted her to do when she went and approached these people. Now, she certainly overstepped and named more names than she should have, and she, again, very much dropped the ball in her campaign. But what they didn't really show in the episode was how messy it was in the first place to have given her that much information about the side that's trying to keep her. And that's where I'm saying, like, they kind of swerved into oncoming traffic. And that's why getting away with this vote being unanimous was in some ways a win for them because they were nearly exposed as an entire side of the house prior to this. They had to convince Rome and the rest of them that Ashley was completely making this up and that they've always been ready to evict Ashley and that, you know, that she's just claiming to have numbers that she doesn't.
Rob Cesternino
Turn. Do you know, did Ashley know about the blind side tonight?
Taryn Armstrong
I don't think so. She was scolded by Haley last night about talking to Melody, which exposed this whole thing, you know, of course. Plenty more details on the live feed update from this morning if you want to listen. Rob joined me. It was very fun and. And so she knew that she had done wrong. But Haley did say and believed at that time that they were still keeping her. I have to imagine, though, that she was pretty suspicious that things were probably not going to be going very well because I can't imagine they offered her much more reassurance. And Haley basically told her, like, shut up and don't talk to anybody. So I'm sure she went to that eviction chair pretty nervous and the second she heard 14, she knew it was done.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. I mean, I don't know if there's anything else that they can do, but when we get a 14 person unanimous vote, it is not the most exciting live eviction that we could get.
Lavina Pavel
No, but thank you.
Taryn Armstrong
Every year.
Lavina Pavel
But thankfully we got all of the shout outs and the very strange comments and the drag race potential spoilers on screen live at least, you know.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. Well, you know what if we could. Let's just say, let's save that. Let's just talk through the business of the eviction and I do want to get into all of those things as well. We saw a little bit of Yash tonight. A little bit of Yash, and he ended up going up to. He was talking with. What was it? Chuck and Kamu and was. It was D there also?
Sasha Joseph
That was the first one. So D. Drew and yes. Were first talking about the same thing and then they have the similar conversation with. He has the same conversation with Chuck and Kamal.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. Did he say it would be a bad precedent to evict a guy first?
Sasha Joseph
Yeah, he did.
Lavina Pavel
In front of D. Yeah.
Sasha Joseph
And here's the thing. Drew, wake up. You know what I mean? Like, where are the brain cells right
Lavina Pavel
he acknowledged it after. He's like, oh, I said it in front of you. Hahaha. That's not. That's not funny.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Sasha Joseph
And in the hoh room, the chutzpah right in her room to say, oh, we can't get a dude out. The girl's gotta go. Pack it up. Shut up.
Taryn Armstrong
Yeah, well, I mean, think about the optics. The men are a minority in the house right now and so picking on them right from the get go.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Lavina Pavel
And that was dropped.
Rob Cesternino
That was the extent of the Yash content for the episode up until then. We went to the blockbuster.
Taryn Armstrong
It was a big part of his campaign and it was working on Kamu for a while. Another part of the episode that was maybe a little misleading was when Kamu approached D about keeping Ashley. That largely was already been. Had already been planned by D. And they were just wondering, how are we going to convince Kamu who wants to keep Yash because he's a guy? And then Kamu came up based on Angela's suspicion about the gym. Oh, by the way, in the episode, Angela's suspicion about the gym meeting was played completely straight, like she was just completely right about what was going on there, which is very much not the case or not. Maybe not very much not the case, but. But not really the case. But her suspicion prompted Kamu to want to keep Ashley around. And then he pitched it to D and D was like, oh, this is great. This is exactly what want. I don't have to do anything.
Rob Cesternino
In the episode we see where Rome ends up forming the Mama's Angels with Jason in the gym. Was that not at the time that Angela saw them going up to the gym?
Taryn Armstrong
I believe they'd already formed Mama's Angels by that point. But they do this every day. The three of them up in the gym talking strategy. That's a very regular occurrence. And they are a pretty tight trio. So they. That's the part of Angela's suspicion that is completely correct. The part that's not correct is that Angela started pitching this not as, oh, the three of them got together and they're talking game. Angela pitched this as Rome is summoning people one by one into the gym. It was a group of six, seven, I think eight people. And it included people like, like Melody and Mallory and Lyric and. And maybe Drew was there, who knows? We don't know if we can trust Drew. And so like it. It blew up into a much bigger thing than it actually was. Which again though, isn't necessarily to say that Angela was wrong about Rome. Lala and. And Jason working together. It's just. She also thought there were a bunch of other people forming a mega alliance, which they should.
Sasha Joseph
Right. Again, if Ashley comes and tells you, hey, this other side, it told me that this is the group and they're going to, you know, keep me safe. Why is the. Like, if I'm not in that group, why am I not gathering all the people at the bottom and being like, y', all, we. We got to get this together where we can't let another steamroll happen to us. Something wake it up.
Lavina Pavel
Yeah.
Taryn Armstrong
Very much so. This was Angela's. That's the group moment for the season so far.
Sasha Joseph
Yeah.
Lavina Pavel
But they. But they made Rome seem like he was like the. He's like the messiah of them and, like, the guy who's running the show, xyz. And I'm just like, he leads the
Taryn Armstrong
Betas and the submissives.
Sasha Joseph
The president only worried about Lyric. Let's be so for real.
Lavina Pavel
Has he said those two words in the house? One time.
Taryn Armstrong
He's definitely talked about alphas. I. I don't think he said submissives, but there was. There was a really funny moment today because of all this stuff happening, because, Sasha, to your point, Rome has now been told from multiple people who heard it from Ashley that there's another side. And he doesn't really believe it because he believes in his relationships. But I was listening to them in the gym. It was those three mama's. Mama's angels. And Rome started to say, you know, I'm beginning to suspect that Camus and Haley are trying to orchestrate something. And I was like, oh, oh, hold on. Rome might be onto something, because I think they're trying to make me and Lyric jealous, girl. By flirting with us.
Sasha Joseph
Get me out.
Taryn Armstrong
And I'm like, okay, okay. This is where Rome's head is.
Sasha Joseph
Wow.
Rob Cesternino
It's like ca. More.
Guest or Minor Speaker
Yeah.
Sasha Joseph
Go back to Love Island.
Lavina Pavel
That's where he wants to be, I think.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. They're being tested.
Lavina Pavel
That was the intent.
Rob Cesternino
See if they can. If they'll be able to survive this.
Sasha Joseph
It's just so funny that Rome is, like, calling himself or whatever the Alpha. Like, what. How far has Big Brother fallen that. You know, it's not shade, I promise. It's just a question that. That roams the Alpha in the house.
Taryn Armstrong
He speaks Alpha, but he's truly a Beta. Submissive who likes trading cards.
Lavina Pavel
No, you have to have the aura. If you call yourself an Alpha, you. You're not the Alpha. Exactly.
Taryn Armstrong
What do you call turning around as you win a competition,
Sasha Joseph
don't piss me off. I feel that I can bully you. You are not an alpha.
Taryn Armstrong
I don't think anybody can't you bully. Come on.
Lavina Pavel
Exactly. I was like, no one's an alpha. Everyone's a beta.
Sasha Joseph
I'm the captain now.
Lavina Pavel
Yes, you've been. You've been.
Rob Cesternino
It's summer, it's hot out. You want clothes that feel cool and comfortable. You don't want to feel like you've gotten a punishment from a big brother in the veto compet. You want stuff that's easy. Like these Quint European linen beach shorts that I have that I love that they are perfect for whether I'm podcasting or going out and going outside. I love it so much. They're lightweight, breathable, drawstring waist, relaxed fit and they're very affordable. Comparable linen shorts from other brands are running over $100 basically for the same thing. And it's not just the shorts. Everything at Quint is priced 50 to 80% less than similar brands. Their linen pants and shirts are just $34. The tees are soft enough to live in all day and the lightweight cotton sweaters are exactly what you want. When the summer nights cool down, make your summer wardrobe easier. Go to quince.com robpod for free shipping on your order and 365 days returns. Now in Canada too. That's Q-U-I-N c e.com rodpod for free shipping and 365 days returns. That's quint.com robpod you know, I'd like to talk a little bit about the BB time capsule. We, I don't think we knew that they were going to announce it to the house. We didn't know how it was going to work. We've understood a little bit more of that. These are going to be powers from the past or maybe punishments from the past. And they've announced it for the house. Tarrant, I do fear that this could be something that galvanizes the first time players against the vets in the house for sure.
Taryn Armstrong
This, this is massive. The fact that it's, it's been said out loud now. I, I, I guarantee you this is the talk of the town tonight. This is what is going to be on everyone's lips. They're going to be talking about who's going to get these powers. Probably the returning players. And what does that mean? Does that mean they have punishments? Does that mean they have powers over us? Does it make people want to work with them because they have those powers? And they don't. They're scared of them. Or is it going to make them want to burn those powers away as quickly as possible, eliminate these players so that there's more space for them to get the powers in the future? I don't know what the answers to these questions will be, but I guarantee you this is what's going to be what everyone's talking about tonight.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, I think it's shades of BB15 had the MVP voting and then Rachel's sister was in the house and there was a lot of votes, Alyssa for mvp because of the popularity of Rachel,
Sasha Joseph
I feel like that and racism, hopefully.
Rob Cesternino
Well, that, yeah, I don't think that that affected the vote.
Taryn Armstrong
Hopefully.
Sasha Joseph
I don't remember I watched it live.
Rob Cesternino
But, but I have to feel like that the first three votes are going to be Rick D, Angela in some order. Right. It seems unlikely that there's, there doesn't seem like there's a breakout first time player that's going to supersede the vets. I also wonder if do the powers escalate and is it, is it better to get the power week five, week six when it's not going to be the vets?
Taryn Armstrong
Who can say at this point? That's kind of the, the thing. You know, I, I think to be fair, I do think that like by the second, third, especially third power, we could definitely have some like breakaway stars maybe then that like you know, kind of overshadow maybe a D, you know, like Devin's is still giving like goofy character in the diary room. D is more like you like her for her presence. She's strategically good. But I don't know if like the casual audience who doesn't know her from Survivor is going to be like super gravitating toward her to like vote for her to give her a power. I think Angela right now is like the most visible. She just had that moment with Jason that first felt very like rootable and now they're giving her this moment in the episode where it looks like she's very savvy and caught Rome what he was doing. So I feel like Angela is probably primed to be the first recipient of this despite her controversy with the, the casual fans.
Sasha Joseph
Yeah, that's what I was going to ask Casual hate.
Lavina Pavel
Do we, do we think though that it's going to be the three of them? Like I like this is no shade to Dee or Devins, but I don't think that they have the same star power as like a Rachel Riley for a big brother. A big Brother.
Rob Cesternino
Sure, sure. Not for this big brother audience, but I guess the question I'd like to pose to the panel is who will be the first new player to earn a power? Lavina, I'll start with you. Call your shot. First new player that earns a power.
Lavina Pavel
Okay. I'm gonna say by winning.
Rob Cesternino
By winning a fan vote, I'm gonna boot you.
Lavina Pavel
I'm gonna. You guys are gonna boom me. The chat's gonna boom me. But the only thing I have to go off of after week one is I ca. What is the casual fan base saying? And my casual fan base is my parents, and my parents said that they felt terrible for Mallory. So I'm gonna throw Mallory.
Rob Cesternino
Mallory. Yeah. I mean, that's.
Lavina Pavel
I don't know.
Rob Cesternino
She was, you know, hard luck person. Won the veto. I could see it. Okay. Sasha.
Sasha Joseph
Yeah. I feel like it's gonna be a man. Don't ask me why. And maybe Rome, because I think he's getting set up as the opposition.
Rob Cesternino
Okay. Taryn, what about you?
Taryn Armstrong
Rome with the showmance makes a lot of sense. I think another name I might throw out there is Kamu.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Sasha Joseph
Oh, yeah.
Taryn Armstrong
I think that Kamu has been, from what I've seen, very popular with the casual audience so far. He right away was giving some of the most natural sounding diary rooms, and so they were going to him a lot for narration, and so he's already kind of popped on the screen a bit. Now. We're talking about maybe probably a couple of weeks down the line. So I don't know if he'll stick around in that spot, but I think right now, comma's in a decent spot.
Rob Cesternino
Okay. If I'm gonna give a different name, I'm gonna say Barrett. I think that he is. Maybe. I think that Drew is. Maybe he does get a lot of diary rooms. I think it could be Drew. But if I have to pick between the two of them, I will say Barrett. I think that he is going to get some online love, and I think that maybe he might get. Get some. Some positive, like, edits, and maybe we'll see what else they show of him.
Taryn Armstrong
Some. Some upcoming plot lines that could make a character play really well to the casual audience. Barrett and D having a bit of a cuddlemance audiences. Casual audiences love showmances. Of course, that's already playing for Roman Lyric, but that could be good for Barrett. But in addition to that, there's some really good Drew and Devin's kind of like father, son relationship stuff that they could play, I think would really work well for Drew as well. So though Barrett and Drew, I think, could have some good content coming their way if they decide to.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, I think the Diary Room really likes Drew, though. They've. They've used Drew a lot in the edit to be, like, when Ashley is doing something wrong, like, he's. He's the person that they show. Like, are you sure that that's what you want doing? Like, he's, like, been the voice of the super fan who knows the right thing to do. They showed him in the premiere saying, like, I know as the super fan that there's not enough people in the house. And so they've really given him, like, that. He knows what he's doing.
Lavina Pavel
And speaking of the diary rooms, too, I did notice that Devin's has not been getting that many. Like, in the last episode before, like, the. On yesterday's episode, he had, like, I think I saw the number was like, one. So I also think that's going to impact it as well. That's why I really don't think he's going to get a vote. I like him.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Lavina Pavel
Don't throw tomatoes on me.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, that's interesting about Evans because he got. He got a lot on Sunday, but I do feel like that Rick Devins also that he. He's jokes in the Diary Room, but I don't know if he's going to necessarily. If he has, like, the Big Brother strategy confessionals down,
Lavina Pavel
maybe.
Taryn Armstrong
Yeah, I mean, like I said, I think that if they do start doing the. The Devin's Drew stuff, I think that plays really well for Devin's in an edit. And in addition to that, as Julie kind of pointed out at the start of this episode, she said, if you're new to Big Brother, we're gonna have a great. And this is because the premiere ratings were up like, 20. They were like, the highest they've been since, like, 2021. And so I think the show itself is sort of like, hey, survive for fans.
Rob Cesternino
Like, welcome aboard.
Taryn Armstrong
So there's a decent chance that there's a good amount of Survivor fans that have come over. Not to mention the fact that, of course, there's already plenty of crossover, and Devin's just came off of a really good season for him in terms of popularity. So I do think he has a good, solid base as well.
Sasha Joseph
Okay, you think Stephen Fishback is voting?
Rob Cesternino
No, I'm not sure. He's still watching.
Sasha Joseph
Exactly. Like, those people are gone. Like, our Survivor fans still with us. I don't know.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, I do think that there are some casual Survivor fans who maybe have never checked out Big Brother. I think that Steven, you. You can't make him watch Big Brother. But I. I think that there are going to be some other folks.
Lavina Pavel
He did, Taryn, definitely.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, but you can't keep him watching Big Brother.
Sasha Joseph
Fair.
Lavina Pavel
It's a commitment. It's a commitment.
Rob Cesternino
Hey, it is a commitment. Okay, let's. Let's talk about. Should we talk about the blockbuster?
Taryn Armstrong
Sure.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. You could really play along at home.
Sasha Joseph
No, because how embarrassing that I'm like, yes, you dummy. You're going home. The answer is Mallory. I said, oh, I'm dummy.
Taryn Armstrong
God, at least give us the right answer.
Sasha Joseph
Thank you. Because they'll have me here looking dumb. And yes, looking better, smarter than me is just eye shambles.
Taryn Armstrong
Like, as we're just watching them stand there staring at screens for two minutes straight. They should be providing us with something like, circle some faces for us, start doing account, give us the final answer by the time they run in and buzz in. Like, give us something to do other than just stare at these people.
Rob Cesternino
What if we had all of the images on the screen and we could. We could somehow play along that way, right?
Lavina Pavel
Like, spell it out for me. Like, literally, like, all the other things are done. Like, the way that they do this show is, like, it's edited for, like. How do I say this nicely? Dumb people. Like, so just make it dumb. Like, make it more dumb for me. You know, in specific. Like, even Ashley was struggling, so, like. And she was there. So, like, you know what I mean?
Taryn Armstrong
Well, I mean, we kind of figure. I mean, I kind of figured Ashley would struggle with this, given her only competition history to this point was not being able to recognize Enzo's face in a photo. I was like, this couldn't possibly be a worse competition for her. Yeah, but, yeah, I mean, I'm not gonna complain too much about a competition that I think has, like, provided good result in the past and is generally, like, a pretty different skill than most of the other kinds of competitions we tend to get. But. But yeah, for tv, it just doesn't quite land, I think.
Rob Cesternino
Do we know what would have happened if they were all wrong? Was it the first person to buzz in?
Lavina Pavel
That's what I thought.
Taryn Armstrong
First person. So I think it goes, like, the. The next highest, a number of appearances. Ah, so that's what I would assume. So, like, if this. If the next highest was Devin's or whoever they put, then. Then it would have come down to. And. And Mallory hadn't been the right answer. Then it would have come down to like who between Ashley and Taylor buzzed in first. And so, you know, can I just say also just having said Ashley and Taylor back to back, that I am at least a little bit happy that one of the recent repeat names is gone. Because when I just said Ashley and Taylor, I'm still thinking about BB27 Ashley and BB24 Taylor.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Sasha Joseph
Would it be more fun? And I know we've talked about this before, like to get a picture in picture so the blockbuster happening but then at the bottom, like what's actually happening in the house?
Lavina Pavel
Are they talking?
Sasha Joseph
Could we get some, you know, Julie's favorite strategy talks like let's, let's get something going from inside.
Taryn Armstrong
Well, letting the house guests watch.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Taryn Armstrong
And like having some close ups on their face as they get nervous could be fun.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. But they like to have the moment of, okay, let's see what happened, let's see who won.
Taryn Armstrong
But that's, that's the same every time. It's always this, it's just like they walk in and even if they're mad about it, they go, oh yeah. They pretend to be clapping. They hug for two minutes.
Rob Cesternino
Were there any interesting reactions when they came back in and Yash was no.
Sasha Joseph
Yeah. We're like living their best life. Yeah.
Lavina Pavel
Rome was doing like the bro thing. Like, yes, bro.
Sasha Joseph
They're like, they're like, like, like whatever.
Lavina Pavel
That was whatever. But I also realized that I'm pretty sure they tell them like when they're walking down the stairs, like productions, like don't smile, don't, like, don't react. And I'm just like, why can't we just do the picture in picture? And I truly think it is also because they want us to see what's going on in the competition so that we can play from home. However, let me not go back to the. Please spell it out for me. But like I'm not going to pay attention regardless. And most of the people are not. So just put the picture in picture and see what the, what the what, what socially is happening in the social game.
Sasha Joseph
And what does it matter if I play along? I am home. I'm not going home. I'm losing anyway. So let me just get inside the house.
Rob Cesternino
Here's a question from the chat. Austin wants to. Did they get rid of the official strategy 2 minute break where Julie asks them, gives them the chance, like, does anybody want to strategize?
Lavina Pavel
No.
Sasha Joseph
Julie begs them, begs them to be like, you idiots, do something.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Taryn Armstrong
It genuinely seems like. And that's it's very relevant that this is gone because the crossovers had, as part of their initial plan, planned on using that time to flip the vote to keep Ashley.
Guest or Minor Speaker
Yeah.
Taryn Armstrong
The fact that it didn't exist could have changed that plan if it had stayed.
Rob Cesternino
I wonder if. If there was a time when they knew that there was, like, a scramble after the outcome of the blockbuster. I wonder if they would build that into the schedule to give them time to do that. They knew already that this was going to. Nobody was gonna want to talk about anything, so it's very possible.
Taryn Armstrong
But, like, I don't think they would love the idea of being inconsistent with it. So, you know, maybe it's the sort of thing where it's like, if you want to scramble, pull somebody away, and Julie will wait as long as she can. Otherwise, we're just gonna keep. Keep running.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. All right.
Sasha Joseph
Also, I feel like Rachel last season was, like, the only person that was trying to, you know, like, get something going again, because she's sounds about so good at all of this, but she would just sit there and try, right. To be like, come on, vote for this person. Then we got that Ashley will mix up. So we need someone.
Rob Cesternino
There's a moment.
Sasha Joseph
Yeah, yeah. But we need someone seasoned to do that. And I don't know that Angela D or Devin are those people.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Lavina Pavel
Because Angela's got her mask on.
Rob Cesternino
Let's talk about the votes and talk about some of the things that came up tonight. La I want to start with Jason's vote. He was the first vote and voted to evict Ashley and then also made a RuPaul's Drag Race prediction. Now, I am so curious about this because that we have Big Brother, which we know plays out in real time, but to my knowledge, RuPaul's Drag Race films ahead of time. Do they. Is there. How does Jason root for a winner
Taryn Armstrong
of a season or predict one?
Rob Cesternino
Predict one.
Lavina Pavel
Right. So I'll say this. While he was on this current All Stars season of All Stars and season All Stars that's airing right now and was eliminated within the brackets and was potentially supposed to come back, but I knew he wasn't going to come back just. Just because also for Drag Race All Stars specifically, very heavily spoiled on the Internet. So with the fact that of him being there and knowing what was going to happen and it's already aired. Half of it's already aired. The finale is tomorrow. It's airing tomorrow. Or being available to stream tomorrow. Like, and Crystal, which is the person that he predicted to win is the heavy favorite. I mean, he was there. Is that what wins?
Sasha Joseph
No.
Lavina Pavel
Well, I wouldn't. I wouldn't go there.
Rob Cesternino
That's like the website I used to bet on, RuPaul's Drag Race. It's. It's k a l s h e dot com.
Lavina Pavel
Okay, sounds good. Perfect. But that show I don't even know if they're doing bets on because it's so heavily spoiled. Like I.
Sasha Joseph
Survivors.
Taryn Armstrong
Yeah.
Sasha Joseph
What?
Taryn Armstrong
It's a whole thing.
Sasha Joseph
Let me know.
Taryn Armstrong
People, people in production of these shows are,
Sasha Joseph
you know, what make your money. We in a recession.
Lavina Pavel
Hey, I'm just kidding. Anyways. Yeah, so that shows, like, basically heavily spoiled, essentially. But either way, Jason was there, so it doesn't matter.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. Okay. So, yeah, gonna win.
Lavina Pavel
Let's be real.
Rob Cesternino
All right, so it's interesting, the. The prediction there from. From Jason. What were some other fun votes from tonight?
Sasha Joseph
Why? What was this man doing?
Lavina Pavel
Not fun.
Rob Cesternino
Let's talk about it. Yeah. So he starts, he says, I vote to evict picked Drew and says, I mean, Ashley. And Julie says, oh, Freudian slip. I don't think it was a slip.
Lavina Pavel
So very planned.
Sasha Joseph
Yeah.
Lavina Pavel
What's.
Rob Cesternino
What's going on here? Taryn, is Camu very anti Drew?
Taryn Armstrong
No, he's got like a on the down low final two kind of situation with Drew. He likes Drew a lot. He's doing this for the bit. I guarantee you at some point it's probably already happened. At some point, Kamu is going to tell the story. Everyone's going to be sitting. So, guys, I walked into the diary room and I said, oh, Julie, you're looking great. And then I said, I vote to evict Drew. And then Julie was like, what is that, a Freudian slip? And I went, no, I'm just kidding. I vote to evict Ashley. And then he's gonna laugh at his own story. And then, you know, some other people will laugh and it's, aha, you're so funny, Kamu. And then, you know, it's going to be a whole thing.
Lavina Pavel
You know, thinking about being in the big brother house terrifies me for many reasons. But a big one for me would be I can't fake laugh for three months. I cannot fake laugh for three months. Like that being like, things used to be really funny on big brother. Not so old man yell at Cloud, but like, like, is that what we're doing?
Sasha Joseph
Is it Berry?
Lavina Pavel
Is that what we're doing? Get in there and call. Call Julie Judas or something. Like, I don't know. Give us something.
Taryn Armstrong
Oh, that.
Rob Cesternino
She was not like that. Do not do that.
Sasha Joseph
You would get evicted.
Rob Cesternino
What in the pocket.
Taryn Armstrong
Jesus.
Rob Cesternino
Are you thinking?
Sasha Joseph
Yeah, she would like hit the eject button. Your ass is gone.
Lavina Pavel
And then he falls down.
Taryn Armstrong
Kamu has literally told a story before because he loves messing with Drew about like, he was like, yeah. So guys, the other day people were like, hey, Kamu, what's your type? And I just started describing Drew and then, then Drew was like, hey, that's me. And I was like, yeah. And then it was so funny.
Rob Cesternino
This happened in the big brother house.
Taryn Armstrong
Yeah. He told that story.
Sasha Joseph
Yeah.
Rob Cesternino
So confused.
Lavina Pavel
I missed that one.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Sasha Joseph
Nothing worse than people that think they're funny and that they aren't. And then you have to, like, act like that. Like, I. My face. It would never happen. I'm getting evicted first anyway, so it's fine.
Lavina Pavel
But yeah, it's just.
Sasha Joseph
There's no way.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. Maybe this is like somewhere akin to the pretty privilege, but also the very strong privilege is that if Kamu tells you a joke, you're going to laugh.
Sasha Joseph
Laugh.
Rob Cesternino
Even Lavina is gonna give him a fake laugh. You're. You're gonna super stone faced. And when this, when this very strong fighter tells you a joke, like, you're gonna laugh. He doesn't know it's not funny.
Sasha Joseph
Yeah. What is he gonna do, bring knives?
Lavina Pavel
I defeat him. In a word, I defeat him in psychological warfare.
Rob Cesternino
I'm laughing. You all could be tough. I'm laughing.
Sasha Joseph
Like, his ear is bit off. Half of it.
Taryn Armstrong
People in the chat are saying like, oh, it's not that unfunny, guys. It don't matter. It's not fair enough. Comedy is subjective. But the funny thing to me about Kamu's jokes are that the, the way that he tells a story about a joke he made, which is not particularly a funny way to relay the joke.
Rob Cesternino
No, it would be like.
Taryn Armstrong
It would be like me being like, hey, hey, hey, Lavina and Sasha. So this morning I was on a podcast with Rob and I made this joke about how I don't remember a joke I made, but it would be like telling you a joke that I made this morning on a podcast.
Sasha Joseph
No, but when Karen sending me voice notes like this.
Lavina Pavel
Exactly.
Sasha Joseph
I'm gonna require this.
Lavina Pavel
If I received a voice memo from Taryn like nine, it's over. Yeah. I would die laughing.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Lavina Pavel
Contact.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. Taryn's too good at retelling things to be making fun of the. Kamu is bad at retelling things. He's making it Too good. Okay.
Sasha Joseph
Too much. So they're not understanding.
Rob Cesternino
How about Rick Devins gives his vote, he's dressed for Tribal council and he would wear this get up to go to every Tribal council on Survivor. We'll see if he keeps up the bit all season long. And did you catch that? He gives a shout out to. Of course Juju who had birthday this week, but also gives a shout out to James Gunn.
Taryn Armstrong
James Gunn.
Sasha Joseph
Okay. Because I said, did I watch too much like Marvel dc like in. My ears are ringing. What's going on?
Taryn Armstrong
I think he's. He's probably just thinking about James Gunn in this hard time after Supergirl flops.
Lavina Pavel
Damn.
Sasha Joseph
Don't. Don't say stuff like that. Because listen, he gave us Guardians. Okay?
Taryn Armstrong
He did.
Sasha Joseph
We're still stuck on that.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. You know, we were talking this week about how Julie does not seem to love Rick Devins. She told a bunch of people, Dalton, Ross, Mike Bloom that she's really out on Rick Deppins after he leaked about the fake or the alliance to. Or the fake alliance to his real alliance. And Julie is out on Rick Devins. I think this was strike two for Rick Devins with Julie when he was wearing a buff in the diver room.
Lavina Pavel
The fact that she already said me, he doesn't know this, but the fact that in the interview she said, you're not in Survivor anymore. This is Big Brother. So like he really, like, it's as if he knew and played right into it. Paid right into her cards, right into her hands.
Sasha Joseph
Yeah, but why James? Like, what's, what's the connection? Well, Jason, somebody call Christian right now.
Taryn Armstrong
Yeah, I mean, more seriously, like James is a fan of the show. I'm sure Devin's is a fan of
Rob Cesternino
James, famously on Big Brother Unlocked last season.
Taryn Armstrong
And you know, it's like, who? I. I don't even know. Like, maybe he even has a relationship with J. James Gunn. I don't know. Do you think you could call Nate
Sasha Joseph
from Survivor to then somehow get connected to James Gunn?
Taryn Armstrong
Maybe. Maybe.
Sasha Joseph
I mean, like, we don't need to shout him out, but it's random. I like it. I'm not mad.
Taryn Armstrong
Listen, I'm, I'm happy with James Gunn shout outs. I think that James Gunn kind of classes up the joint a little bit here.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, let's normalize shouting out famous people as opposed to like, hey, happy birthday, Chris and my roommate Dave, you know, at least like we know.
Sasha Joseph
Yeah, yeah.
Taryn Armstrong
Like I watched the Love island finale and there's a, like that whole dedicated portion at the End of Love island to all of the celebrities who watch their show. So, you know, like, we. We gotta take. Take what we can get. And James Gunn. It's pretty. Pretty good one.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Sasha Joseph
Oh, so I'm shouting out Beyonce like, every day.
Taryn Armstrong
Absolutely, yeah.
Sasha Joseph
Okay, fine. I'll go on Big Brother just to do that.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. Was it a fever dream when they were shouting out Rihanna?
Sasha Joseph
The one season she watched, though, allegedly, the streets were saying, I swear she's
Lavina Pavel
a little busy right now.
Rob Cesternino
But yeah, okay.
Sasha Joseph
Another baby and I'm just kidding. I'm lying.
Lavina Pavel
She's on stage and doing whatever. On stage with Jay Z, girl. Good.
Sasha Joseph
Put out good music. New music. New. New. No.
Rob Cesternino
Okay, how about Mallory in the Diary Room tonight who seemed like that she glitched for a minute.
Lavina Pavel
I didn't understand it.
Taryn Armstrong
It's me, Mallory, coming to you live from the Diary Room.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Taryn Armstrong
With my eviction vote.
Lavina Pavel
Is she trying to do, like, a Rick Devins moment?
Rob Cesternino
Like, no, I think she's a. This is Mallory Live right now.
Lavina Pavel
She fumbled. She thought she. She planned that for. For a week and fumbled.
Rob Cesternino
Oh, that's a bit. What is she going for?
Sasha Joseph
Just the thing is, like, I think I. Oh, my God. Because I think. Would I try to do a bit? No, I don't think so. No, I think we should. Yeah, I wouldn't because I knew. I knew it would flop. So it's just people. You don't do it because it's just gonna look a mess. Big D was, I feel, like, the last, like, funny bit. And even then, we're like, no, but we know that you. You know what you're saying. Sometimes I'll be listening to him on this podcast. And I was like, oh, I don't think it was a bit, but I just think he's. He could. He's like one of the last people that can pull something off like that.
Lavina Pavel
I. I think. I think it's not. I think it started off not a bit because he was on podcast recently saying that he's like, oh, I'm a Beta. And they were like, no. Like, do you know what that means? And he's like, that means I'm strong. And they were like, no, it means you're not. Like, I really, truly think that it started off real, and then it became a bit, which. That works for me. That's fine. That's fine with me.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. Here's the Mallory clip. Of course, Scally had it on Blue Sky. Here she is.
Sasha Joseph
My first ever live vote to evict this Mallory live right now, first ever live vote to evict the SM live right now. Can I say I like the shimmying? Am I the drama? Cuz I just think that's a mess.
Taryn Armstrong
Julie, I think was very right.
Sasha Joseph
Now, tomorrow, like, you must. But you have to shimmy.
Lavina Pavel
You have to.
Taryn Armstrong
Yeah. Rob, did you do the shimmy when
Rob Cesternino
you started this podcast?
Guest or Minor Speaker
I didn't.
Rob Cesternino
I didn't.
Sasha Joseph
And your shirt too buttoned up for this. You know, it didn't. No.
Lavina Pavel
Right, right, right.
Sasha Joseph
Notes for tomorrow, everybody.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Lavina Pavel
Okay, let's do clips.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. Drew was screaming in the diary room when he voted.
Taryn Armstrong
Yeah.
Rob Cesternino
And the shout outs.
Lavina Pavel
We don't have a. Do we have a diary room screamer this season?
Sasha Joseph
No, not yet.
Taryn Armstrong
They usually grow into it.
Lavina Pavel
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Taryn Armstrong
They're a little nervous at first.
Sasha Joseph
Yeah.
Lavina Pavel
He's not getting diary rooms, period.
Sasha Joseph
Yeah, well, fair bless, girl. Respectfully, you know why he has Rob, okay? That's all he needs.
Lavina Pavel
He's the most famous currently on our platform. Yes, exactly. That's all that matters.
Rob Cesternino
You know, the voting was going on and on and on. I couldn't believe. It was like, oh, my God, I forgot about Haley. Oh, she's the last of O. And then, like, Chuck walked in the door. I was like, what? Oh, my God, when will this end?
Taryn Armstrong
A lot. 14 people doing the same thing.
Lavina Pavel
The same thing.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, yeah. And poor Julie has to say, like, okay, well, Haley that she is aligned with with Kamu and Chuck, let's see what she's gonna do. Like, yeah. 11 other people just over Ashley.
Sasha Joseph
It's all for her.
Taryn Armstrong
Well, Lyric, I've heard, is from Hawaii, so we'll see if that impacts her vote here. No.
Sasha Joseph
Lyric has been locking lips with King Rome. I wonder if what came out of his mouth will come out of her mouth. Yes, they're sharing spit. Obviously it will.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Sasha Joseph
It's just.
Lavina Pavel
Yeah.
Rob Cesternino
Okay. Julie and Lala really hit it off in the diary room also.
Taryn Armstrong
Yeah. She's now officially earned the nickname Lala. Julie.
Rob Cesternino
This was the day Latrice became Lala, officially.
Sasha Joseph
But let's never forget the chocolate dropped. What did she call herself?
Lavina Pavel
Lemon.
Rob Cesternino
Lemon Drop.
Lavina Pavel
The Lemon Drop. Is that what she said?
Sasha Joseph
Did you say, I don't know if I was racist and I didn't want to microaggress Julie like that.
Lavina Pavel
She said, no. I think she did.
Sasha Joseph
You're right. I just didn't want to say.
Lavina Pavel
And then Puya got on here and said, am I your cinnamon drop, Rob? It's like, stuck in my head. I'm sorry.
Taryn Armstrong
That Was the one question I was hoping that we had more time for with Julie. I wanted to ask her, what would you have said her favorite flatterer was? And I was hoping she would say,
Sasha Joseph
well, somebody ask him. Yeah, yeah, that's a great question. That's the kind of hard hitting journalism we need with Julie.
Rob Cesternino
Right, right.
Lavina Pavel
So I don't think anyone, like, went hard in complimenting her, though. Lyric just said, like, you look beautiful. That's it. Is it over?
Rob Cesternino
No.
Lavina Pavel
No.
Rob Cesternino
All right, well, talk about Julie with. With Ashley tonight. And not a ton of questions for Ashley. Did she find her. People say, no, she didn't have much to say and they didn't have much time for her.
Taryn Armstrong
Not much time. No goodbye messages. Because it's more important to show 14 people shouting their families up.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, we asked her about what was it her speech? It was one of the questions that she got where Julie said, do you think you could have said anything different? No.
Lavina Pavel
Yeah, yeah.
Sasha Joseph
She said, I didn't know. I didn't know.
Taryn Armstrong
I mean, to be fair, like, the question is unfairly pointed in the sense that, like, no, it wouldn't have changed anybody's mind. It's more. So, like, do you think you could have been more entertaining on your way out, Ashley, like, give us something.
Guest or Minor Speaker
Mm.
Lavina Pavel
I think her way of entertaining is just doing what she's been doing. Like, I don't even think that it crossed her mind to call someone out or, like, she could have easily called out the alliance. The information that she has that she's been doing all the past 24 hours, she could have done that. But she's not going to do that. That's not how. That's. She doesn't want to play. Play.
Sasha Joseph
Michael was the last. I feel like, good. You know, when he, like, dragged Britney. Poor Britney. But he was like, no, I want to stay, and this is how I'm gonna stay. It's just, where's that energy? But I don't know.
Taryn Armstrong
Something out of the ordinary on your way out of the house. That's the true. Not there for the right reasons.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah, she should have been like, and you know what? I have had a hamburger. I have one every day. You shouldn't look on your faces.
Lavina Pavel
What was that thing when they said that she was on barstool or something and she's never had peanut butter or whatever it was.
Rob Cesternino
I think that she. Yeah, I think she did some sort of barstool reality show. And on that she said that she never had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich is what I Have.
Lavina Pavel
Okay.
Taryn Armstrong
She just collects things to not eat so that she can eat them.
Rob Cesternino
Right.
Taryn Armstrong
In a performative way.
Lavina Pavel
I think it reminds me of those people that are like, I don't like how water tastes. Like, you just want attention. Like, stop. That's not. That's not real. Like, you're. You're. You're bullshitting.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Lavina Pavel
Love her down. But, like, let's be real.
Rob Cesternino
Well, she's on the outside world. We'll see what adventures she goes on the rest of the summer. She's. She's with us now.
Taryn Armstrong
Yes. I think she'll be a fun viewer of the show.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. Yeah. And who knows? It probably won't be that long before you end up seeing her over on Chat bcc, where so many of the alumni end up hanging out during the episode. You could join them over at BB28 chat. We'll keep the lookout for when Ashley shows up. Ask her what are the foods she hasn't had.
Lavina Pavel
I think it's been really chill over there today and last night.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. Very chill. Always. Okay. Was there anything else from this episode that we should hit on?
Taryn Armstrong
I'm still just thinking about how she's never eaten PB and J. And that wasn't the fact when she went on Big Brother, where famously, they ate PB and J for seasons and seasons.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Lavina Pavel
Is.
Sasha Joseph
I know she's a fan, but has she been a fan that long?
Lavina Pavel
She didn't know who. How he was.
Sasha Joseph
Yeah.
Lavina Pavel
Did they even know who. Doc. Did they even react? I don't. I was busy reacting to Dr. Will myself, so I was not paying attention. But did they even react to Dr. Will? Crazy. I don't even know if they did.
Taryn Armstrong
I mean, I'm sure they did to some, but they weren't really, like, talking about him after the. There was not much of a reaction.
Sasha Joseph
Would you, like, lead a coup against the house if they didn't correctly, like, react to Dr. Will?
Rob Cesternino
You know what?
Lavina Pavel
Disrespect.
Rob Cesternino
The way that it was shot. Taryn, do you think Dr. Will was literally there when they did the veto?
Taryn Armstrong
No.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Taryn Armstrong
No, no, no. 1,000%. No.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. It seemed like that maybe that they just got the shot of him.
Taryn Armstrong
Yeah.
Rob Cesternino
Filmed him when he, like, in the reflection. And then he probably was like, I do not want to be there when Howie is there.
Lavina Pavel
King. King.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah.
Lavina Pavel
Cash that check.
Rob Cesternino
Right. I'm doing, like. That's my one stipulation. I will not be there when Howie is there. Do not give him my number.
Lavina Pavel
I'm like, yeah.
Taryn Armstrong
So I guess to be Fair to the house guests. Their reaction should be the same as ours. They were watching him on a screen as much as we were.
Rob Cesternino
They watched it on a screen. Okay. Taryn, was there anything of note from what you saw on the feeds today?
Taryn Armstrong
No, not really. Not today. It was a very slow day today. I already told my Rome story, so I'm gonna be repeating that on the update tomorrow, but. But, yeah, not much. I. I mean. I mean, I' expecting a fun night. I think this HOH is going to be really, really interesting and important for the direction of the game, so I'm expecting more, but. But I think we're. We're pretty much all caught up for now.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. Sasha, anything else that you caught tonight?
Sasha Joseph
No, this was. This was a silly, fun time. Yay.
Rob Cesternino
Yeah. Yeah, we had fun. We're just getting warmed up. Lavina, anything else that you saw?
Lavina Pavel
Nothing specifically. I do have a thought in mind about the twist, but I don't know.
Sasha Joseph
Oh, yes.
Lavina Pavel
I. I really think that they're kind of. I feel like there's no way that one of the twists is not a coup d', etat, right?
Sasha Joseph
Oh, that's my number one. That's the one I want.
Taryn Armstrong
You can't have a coup d' etat as one of six powers, though, surely.
Sasha Joseph
Why?
Taryn Armstrong
But that's so much better than all of the rest of them. I mean, maybe something like Mickey's. That's like, coup d' etat light stealing hoh.
Sasha Joseph
Yeah. Or the hacker twist.
Taryn Armstrong
I think a full coup d' etat is a little too much.
Lavina Pavel
What if the silver power veto thing, the rumor or, like, conspiracy theory at the start of the season was, like, meant to be there? And maybe what if that's one of them? But I don't know if that's. They said it's either a prize or a punishment, right? It's one or the other.
Rob Cesternino
So it's. It's a opportunity to play a game, and then you. If you complete the game, I think this is kind of like going to be how the journeys work on Survivor. You go and you will have to do a task, and then if you complete the task, you get the prize, and if you lose, you get the punishment.
Taryn Armstrong
Right.
Rob Cesternino
But we could easily, like, stack the deck for, like, okay, this person is getting this. This opportunity.
Taryn Armstrong
Stack the deck all you want sometimes.
Sasha Joseph
Okay, Caitlin.
Taryn Armstrong
Sometimes Caitlyn happens. I'm curious to know what the punishments are, because if this is supposed to be a secret and you get a punishment. Typically when we hear punishment, we think, like, costume or, like, kick a ball into a goal a thousand times like but that would immediately give away who received the thing and there'd be no more paranoia about it for the entire week. It would be. It would just give the whole thing away. Which makes me inclined to believe that the punishment is likely game related. Something that can be kept secret like losing your vote or.
Rob Cesternino
But you know, they said it's punishments from the past also.
Lavina Pavel
Yeah, I mean that's.
Taryn Armstrong
If that's true then yeah, there aren't many game related punishments that we can, that we can really do.
Sasha Joseph
So it might be like you know, another thing for Summer of Sign to talk about, you know, like something mission related and like oh, you must do blank as you know your punishment. Like you have to say the word super califragilistic. You know, like I don't know, just something outrageous because it's a Big Brother. I feel like it has to be something silly.
Rob Cesternino
Get everybody in the house to say french fries. Yeah.
Sasha Joseph
Or hamburger. Hamburger.
Taryn Armstrong
All right.
Rob Cesternino
Okay. So let's leave it there. Let's talk about what else we have coming up. Exit interview coming up with Ashley. Happy trails to Ashley and we will talk to her tomorrow. Look for that on Friday morning. Then after we get done talking to Ashley, Taron is going to jump over for the first Puya Friday of the season and find out what went on overnight. Feeds haven't come back yet, right? Nope, not yet.
Guest or Minor Speaker
Soon.
Rob Cesternino
Hang in there. Then I talked with our great friend, the mastermind Eric Stein. It was the first summer of Stein. Hey, if you're waiting for the feeds to come back and you haven't watched Summer of Stein yet, check out what Eric and I talked about as we went through everything that caught our attention from the first week of Big Brother. And of course over on Patreon, get locked in. We've got a fun season of coverage for you during BB28. I'll be live at 3pm Eastern to take your questions. Talking about Big Brother coming up on Friday. Then for the patrons also we've got a brand new show. Taryn and I have a mailbag that will be answering your strategy questions all season long. You can send in your Questions@Rob's website.com BB mailbag we just went through and gave our win probabilities for every player. Tara, we're gonna have to update Ashley's 2% next week and dole it out to somebody else.
Taryn Armstrong
Yeah, I do think we gave her the lowest percentage of anybody.
Rob Cesternino
So yeah, I think she was one of a couple people with 2% and we could have gone lower for Ashley, but at that point, it looked like she was gonna stay.
Taryn Armstrong
Right.
Rob Cesternino
So. All right. And then we had a fun time on the Slop this week as well, with Chappelle going through the sloppiest stuff from Big Brother social media and the live feed clips and beyond every week on the slop. We also talked to Julie Chen Moonvest met Pocket Jesus and had a fun conversation with her where she did not really drag Rick Davins with us.
Taryn Armstrong
No, she was doing that, so I didn't ask her about Rick Devins.
Rob Cesternino
Yes.
Sasha Joseph
And love one another.
Rob Cesternino
And on Friday for the patrons, get ready. Tickets to rahabcon are going to drop for the patrons on Friday afternoon, so get locked in. We've got three fun days that we're planning in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, August 26th to the 28th. And you can see more information@arahapcon.com then. All right, Sasha, tell me about my buddy Mark Ballas. What's he's up to?
Sasha Joseph
Oh, my gosh, again, Can I be adopted into this family? Because, listen, Mark Ballas and Shirley Ballas, his mom, are.
Rob Cesternino
I didn't know his mom is on this, too.
Sasha Joseph
Yeah, that's. That's Shirley Ballas right there. Queen. They are hosting or judging the new the next pro for Dancing with the Stars. So. So one of these new people from a cast of 12 is gonna immediately get called up to the pros and will be on Dancing with the Stars coming this fall. So it's a fun. Like if you liked making the band or so you think you can dance. Oh, bye.
Rob Cesternino
I was trying to do. I'm just kidding. I was trying to do. There's one where I could see everybody on top. On top of the thing. But I did not mean to take you off the screen while you were talking.
Sasha Joseph
No, I'm just kidding. But yeah, so check. Check out Matt Ligurian art coverage. It's gonna be happening all short season long, so it's. I really enjoyed this first episode.
Rob Cesternino
Okay, check it out. All right. And then we've also got. Coming up.
Taryn Armstrong
Is that it?
Rob Cesternino
That's the last slide. Yes. Okay. All right. So, Lavina, what's coming up for you?
Lavina Pavel
Nothing, Just more Big Brother 28. Super excited about the season. Hopefully we get an exciting week. And yeah, follow us on all socials for all my fun stuff.
Rob Cesternino
Okay. All right, Sasha, anything else coming up for you?
Sasha Joseph
Yeah, check out Mess magnets where Kirsten McKenzie and I are talking. Everything pop culture related. If you want to know why something's trending. You should be listening to us. Mess magnets dot com. We're also here, and they're talking Big Brother, so check that out.
Rob Cesternino
Okay, Taryn, it's gonna be a long night for you.
Taryn Armstrong
Long night. And I'll be live tomorrow again. Make sure you remember an hour later for the update. Roughly. But we'll have some fun with it. There's gonna be, I'm sure, plenty to talk about, plenty of things to predict for the future. And you can also check out my Patreon, where I just finished watching Love island and we're watching things like, like jet lag and all kinds of fun stuff. So check it out.
Rob Cesternino
Okay? And we've got a busy Friday coming up at the end of a busy week. We really put out so much content here in our first full week of Big Brother 28. We're having such a fun time and hope you are, too. Thank you so much for joining us.
Taryn Armstrong
Take care, everybody.
Rob Cesternino
Have a good one.
Taryn Armstrong
Bye.

Episode: BB28 Thursday Eviction Ep Recap, Week 1
Date: July 17, 2026
Hosts: Rob Cesternino, Taran Armstrong, Sasha Joseph, Lavina Pavel
The RHAP crew recaps Week 1's Thursday eviction episode of Big Brother 28, reflecting on Ashley’s unanimous eviction, the strategic undercurrents at play, and the general energy of the season’s early days. The panelists dig into the dynamics of alliances, the implications of the new "Time Capsule" twist, and memorable moments from the live show—including a dissection of diary room votes, shout-outs, and houseguest blunders.
The panel was lightly critical of the episode’s content (“nothing burger”), but optimistic about the house’s potential for future chaos—especially as twists and new power dynamics come into play. Despite an uninspiring first eviction, the hosts are hopeful for more dramatic game moves and memorable characters in weeks ahead.
If you missed the episode, this recap covers all strategic developments, cast impressions, blunders, and the early shenanigans shaping Big Brother 28’s first week.
