Taryn Armstrong
Hello everyone and good morning. Welcome to our live feed update for August 4th. I'm your host Trent Armstrong and I'm here to update you on everything that happened yesterday. The Big Brother 28 live feeds. It was day 28 and we had a veto ceremony. A replacement nominee has been named. A vote flip was proposed and lots of people continuing to be thrown under the bus. All kinds of stuff going on there. And with me to talk through it is Maggie. How you doing Maggie?
Maggie Morgan
Honestly, Taryn, I'm pretty exhausted. I was apart a large part of the mass psychosis that happened this weekend. Thinking Drew had the power and didn't play it. I was mentally cussing Drew out all weekend only to discover that it was all for not. So I would like to publicly on this platform apologize to Drew for all of the mean things I said about him in my head about how bad he was at big brother. And honestly, it's been a tough week. I think just simply because the steamroll really takes a lot out of you. When you're really deep into the show, the steamroll makes you be like maybe I gotta touch some grass because I got put into mass psychosis at the thought that maybe there was a possibility that it wouldn't be a steamroll. And I feel really bad for a lot of these players. I'm not going to lie. Like I'm feeling pretty, it's, it's pretty tough here for a couple of them. And yeah, that's, that's my thoughts to start.
Taryn Armstrong
It's a rough one. It's a rough, it's been a rough week. We knew it would be a rough week. It was a pretty slow day overall though, of course plenty to update you on. We started the day with a conclusion to the night before. Of course. Haley, the HOH had nominated Drew, Melody and Taylor. Drew, the intended target. Taylor won the veto plans to take herself off the block. The replacement nominee is Lyric. Is that. That is the intention. Lyric, in a last gasp to save herself, threw Mallory under the bus to Camu and Chuck the night before, saying that Mallory was going to nominate Kamu Ch and Haley. Specifically Haley to Chuck, though, not Takamu. Chuck planned to talk to Haley in the morning to try to pitch this. We talked about this yesterday. It happened during yesterday's update, and that's because it was so fast that it was over before you knew it. Chuck went to Haley with lyrics information, and she immediately shut it down, saying lyrics, lying. She's doing whatever she can to save herself. Whatever. Lyric is still the replacement nominee. And just like that, it was all for not.
Maggie Morgan
And also, you know, she's like, she's lying. She's saying whatever she can to save herself, maybe. But also, she's not worried about her because she values her so little in the game.
Taryn Armstrong
Yes.
Maggie Morgan
Frankly, that. That's what it is. It's like, okay, well, she might win, but she's no pipe queen. You know, she won one competition because she plays pickleball all the time. You know, like, it's. I think that it really is a situation where these people, like, all of these people at the bottom who cannot win like an HOH are just being completely undervalued. And some of them really could be threats if they were to win an HOH and go after them. But, like, Kamu, Chuck, and Haley, like you have been saying, are dummies and also have had no pressure on them whatsoever. Therefore, Haley's like, I don't like Lyric most out of all of them, so I don't care about any of this. She's going up.
Taryn Armstrong
These people have been shooting fish in a barrel for four weeks. So when you hear that, like, one fish is saying another fish is going to come after you, you're like, okay, still shooting you. And Haley also likes to play with her food a little bit. She tells Mallory, so, you know, your closest friends are throwing you under the bus. So. But don't worry, I'm not going to be putting you up. And she tells Lyric to her face. After Lyric tells her the Mallory stuff, she says, listen, I think it's. You're throwing your friends under the bus. I don't think that's a good look. You know, like, and. And Lyric also brings up the deal that was made. Deal, you could call it in the HOH competition. And Haley's like, ooh, that was only good. That was a one time. That was Only good for the initial nominee. That was not good for the Renam. Sorry about that. She sucks.
Maggie Morgan
Like, there's absolutely. I don't think what she's doing really is wrong in any way. Like, Lyric is a potential threat to her position because she's pulling Kamu and Chuck away. Like, I see it, but just like, she sucks, man. That is really not the way to say it to someone. Like, oh, it was only good for one nomination ceremony. You didn't clarify the veto. Therefore, like, it just. That is the exact way to get people in the house to just hate you.
Ollie Wellness Announcer
Yeah.
Taryn Armstrong
She says, I offered Mallory full safety so she actually has precedent. Like she actually has so priority over you. And. And again, just calls her out for throwing her friends under the bus in the way that she has been. Mallory, of course, when talking to Haley, understood what Haley was getting at that Lyric was throwing her under the bus. Lyric, after having the conversation with Haley, is gonna cry to Lala who then talks to Angela about how she feels bad for Lyric and how she thinks Barrett should be on the block. Instead, Angela goes to Haley and Devins and she's like, I didn't realize Lala was so close to Lyric. She's like really upset about this. D joins them and they all agree that Melody is the backup target. If Drew. When Drew wins the blockbuster, Lyric is still safe despite all of the nonsense that's been going on.
Maggie Morgan
Yeah. Also like Lyric and Lala aren't that close. It's just Lyric got told that all her friends. She threw all her friends under the bus and she's too scared to go and tell all her friends that that's what she's upset about.
Taryn Armstrong
D and Devins talk privately about how Angela or sorry about how Haley has hoh itis and that's good for them. These people keep putting targets on their backs. And then Mallory talks with Lyric. Taylor's actually in the room. They kind of start to address and this. It's really one of the only thing that's. Things that's happening during the day. Yeah. But it's, you know, it's like a day long conversation that's. And it's probably going to be even longer. The Mallory and Lyric and Melodies involved. Of course, it's basically like, did I throw you under the bus? Maybe, but not on purpose. But they made me. And also I'm really sad and I miss Rome and he used to hold me when I was sad. And. And I'm so sorry, but it wasn't on purpose. She made me do it. And And Mallory being like, it's okay. I mean, it sucks, but it's okay. It's fine. She made you do it. But, I mean, it kind of sucks, but it's fine and it's okay. That's kind of like I. I me doing that kind of like, eliminates 50% of my notes today. So.
Maggie Morgan
Yeah. And I. I do just want to point out, like, this is what Lyric does, you know, like, oh, no, I was just confused. And also, I missed the boy who would hold me because I'm so little and I need that. And like, oh, no, I'm just so lost. Like, this is what Lyric does. And look, I am a lyricist, honey. I love it. I think that, like, Lyric knows exactly what she's doing. She's being completely manipulative and using what she can in this moment. But, like, this is Lyric's game, right? And you might think it's annoying. You might. It's so Franzel ask being, like, whining and crying and being like, no, I didn't mean to do that. Like, and then everybody starts to feel kind of bad. Like, Mallory is pretty upset all through the day, being like, it sucks, but also, like, it's okay because there's just something about it. You can't really stay too mad at it if you're super close to it. Unless you're somebody like Haley, who is really threatened by that type of behavior, because that is not a tool that you have in your disposal.
Taryn Armstrong
You know, Taylor does get involved in this initial conversation because there was some misunderstanding about, like, did somebody say that they'd be going after Taylor? And they're like, absolutely not. And so that now they're like, oh, now I'm getting in trouble for targeting Taylor. And that's never been true. And they also try asking Lier, like, who are you saying you're going after? Then she, I don't. I don't even know. I don't know. And. And so, you know, it's. It's a lot of that. It's a lot of that. And then we get to the veto ceremony, where Lyric is, of course, put up on the block. And there you go. D also has a bribery power. And these are our final nominees. Drew, Melody, and Lyric. At this point, the plan is, of course, still Drew the target, Melody the backup target right now.
Maggie Morgan
Yes. And Drew is nervous.
Taryn Armstrong
Getting more nervous over time. Yes.
Maggie Morgan
I also, like, there is something to this that I do want to say here. Like, I have empathy for Drew in this situation because he knows in his soul, he knows Right. He keeps bringing up Cedric and being like, cedric went home week four because everybody changed their mind and his alliance, and I'm feeling really stressed. I really hope that doesn't happen to me, but it is one of those things where we've watched people go on the block and not be cool and go home because they're stressing so much. So I think that he's kind of like, we have all of the information that Drew's in huge trouble, but Drew feels it. But I'm sure in his mind, he's like, what if I'm actually not that in trouble? And I start annoying the crap out of everybody and making them feel like I'm unreliable, and that's why I go home. Like, there's this dance that sometimes you have to do, and that's like, I'm trying to put myself in his shoes. I think that it's. I think. I just think that it's. He's kind of caught between a rock and a hard place here. I don't know.
Taryn Armstrong
Yeah, I. I think that's. I mean, so just to. To be clear, his. His nervousness is more kind of like, existential than. Than grounded.
Maggie Morgan
Yes.
Taryn Armstrong
It's not that he feels like, oh, my people are turning on me. It's that he's like, something is. Something might happen. Like, the numbers are looking tight. I need every one of my votes that I know are locked in. It could be, like, six, five, but I should have those six. But what if something goes wrong? He does not know or recognize in any capacity that he has been the target from the start. He does not realize that, and he certainly does not realize that people like Devins and Barrett are fully in on it and just, you know, like, basically orchestrating his downfall. Speaking of Devin's and Barrett, they have a long conversation, kind of resetting their connection. With Drew leaving, it's time to sort of, like, set back up where we stand and what we're doing. They do have a funny interaction that I posted on. On Twitter about their. About power, because they're talking about powers and. And Devin is really, like. He's really playing around like. Like, he really didn't need to do this and maybe shouldn't have, but he's like, tell me. Tell me about that super veto you were talking about before, Barrett. He's like, oh, the diamond power veto. Yeah, that one. What. What is that do? What does that do? Oh, well, you know, you can take somebody off the block, and then. And then you name the replacement. Oh, so you choose the Replacement. Yeah.
Fan or Casual Commentator
Yeah.
Taryn Armstrong
That makes really powerful Devin's. Oh, that's pretty good. Barrett says, yeah, be cool to know somebody who had that. Devin's goes, that would be cool.
Maggie Morgan
He said, wouldn't it? Wouldn't it? I also agree that would be pretty good for you if you knew who had it.
Taryn Armstrong
I mean, anyway. Devin continues, hold on.
Maggie Morgan
I do just want to stop down here and say, this is what we were talking about before, where it's just like, you just want some. Like, it's so overpowered, the position that these.
Taryn Armstrong
It's almost kind of good if Barrett knows. It's almost kind of good if people know, because then you can throw your weight around with it. But if they don't know for sure, they also can't, like, strictly do anything about it or rat you out about it. So it's like, I don't think it was that, but I actually don't hate it.
Maggie Morgan
I don't know. I think that Barrett is. You know, it was right around this time last year that I really went in on Morgan and was like, morgan is not doing what she needs to do. I'm really disappointed. I feel like she's way too preoccupied with the Zach and the Vince of it all. And then Morgan went on to be more God and completely proved me wrong. And I love it when players prove me wrong. Like, that's my favorite thing in the world. I love being wrong in that instance because that means that we're going to see some really fun, good gameplay. And I'm really starting to be sad about Barret. I'm really starting to feel disappointed in what he's doing and the bravery aspect. Like, I Blue sky this weekend about how I always say that, like, one of the most important things that a Big Brother player needs is, you know, flexibility, self interest, but also they do have to be brave at a certain point. Like, that's honestly all of the really special Big Brother players that you remember. Even if they're not winners, they were extremely brave. And, like, even beyond being able to win, they were just brave enough to do the crazy thing that needed to be done and caused disruption. And I don't know that Barrett really has that right now. I hope he can prove me wrong. I hope that he can be really brave. And I was speaking about Drew when I said it because I thought that he had a power that he wouldn't use. But, like, I also think that Drew maybe needs to be a little bit brave and dig in a little bit more to some of the information that he's going to get throughout of the day. Throughout the day. Like, I think that actually investigating something that might not give you the answer that you want is a brave thing to do rather than just sitting back and being like, it'll be okay and waiting for death and eviction to take you. So I think that that's something like looking at the board. It's the bravery aspect and it's really hard to be like, you have to be brave when you've had four weeks in a row of nothing but like doom and gloom. But Barrett should be in that majority alliance. Like he, he should be brave enough to look around and be like, wait, I'm supposed to be in this majority alliance and things aren't going the way that I want them to. You know, he has had weeks where he's been totally safe. So I, I'm just not sure what's not connecting here.
Taryn Armstrong
Well, I mean, I, I think part of it is this conversation that we're talking about, right? And it's, it's that in this conversation it's like, you know, Devin's is, is using spore on, on, on bear. It's just a sleep powder. Just like what? Yeah, yeah, I'll just go back to sleep. You're right. I'm with you. Devin says, you're in my long term plans, Parrot. He's like, yeah, I'm not going to be the next Drew. Right? And he's like, absolutely not. You know, in fact, I'm even looking at Angela right now. You know, do you see how, how often she's up in the hoh room, how close she's getting with Haley? And now she's like moved all of her suspicions to Yash all of a sudden, which is just going to become its own self fulfilling prophecy and you know, letting, letting Barrett in on the, his, his, his, you know, his plans and his secrets and his feelings. And this is exactly what Devins did with Drew. I mean, it's what he's been doing with Barrett and it's making Barrett feel like, yeah, I'm in on this. I'm, I'm also, I also agree with you about Drew. He has done a bunch of things and I, I'm totally like, I'm clinging to it, but I'm down. I'm with it. And so even if Barrett wants to do something, it's certainly not against the vets. It's against, you know, Haley, Camus and, and Chuck, which is this is the problem is still good, better for his game. Those people do need to go. But it's even better for the vets who will just continue to steamroll. So, you know, it kind of is what it is.

Meanwhile, downstairs, Mallory is having a conversation with Drew. And kind of unintentionally, she tries to wake him up as he's talking about votes and how he needs as many as possible. And she kind of is like, yeah, I mean, you're kind of screwed, though, if you don't win Blockbuster. It's like, I mean, am I. It's like, yeah. I mean, the. You know, the other side isn't voting to keep you. Really? What do you. I mean, the other side? Like, the whole other side. Yeah, I don't. I don't know. I mean, I think I have at least, like, Kamu and Devin's and, you know, like, maybe d. You know, and. And. And Angela, like, I don't know, I feel like I've. I've got some votes over there. I don't think it's the whole other side. She's like, oh, yeah, you're total. I mean, I'm just assuming.
Maggie Morgan
Oh, okay.
Taryn Armstrong
Because, you know, about the them putting you up thing. I was just kind of assuming that maybe they wanted you gone. But, yeah, listen, you.
Ollie Wellness Announcer (Alternate)
You.
Taryn Armstrong
You were probably right.
Maggie Morgan
Mm. Like, totally. You're. You're right. You do have those votes. Okay. It's like when you say something that's true and someone pushes back on you so hard and you're like, oh, okay, well, maybe I am wrong. You seem really strong in this conviction, so maybe I am wrong and maybe everyone's lying to me, you know? But this does get Drew stressed.
Taryn Armstrong
Yeah. He goes upstairs to the gym where Barrett and Devins have been talking, and he. He says, never gonna believe what Mallory just told me. She thinks that all of you guys are gonna vote me out because she doesn't know about the tool shed. You know what I mean? She doesn't realize. So you are voting after all week,
Maggie Morgan
Drew has been like, this line sucks. This is a joke. Tool shed's joke.
Taryn Armstrong
Yes,
Maggie Morgan
you are.
Taryn Armstrong
You are running. Keep me though, right? Like, of course.
Fan or Casual Commentator
Yeah.
Taryn Armstrong
Of course we are. Yeah. You would tell me. You tell me If. If I was. Because it would. Like, I'd be devastated if I left like this, like, this week. Like, I'd want my speech to be different. You know what I mean? Like, I'd want to, like, you tell me, like, of course. No, we wouldn't tell you. Come on.
Maggie Morgan
Oh, it's tough. It's tough. And we love blind sides, but this one is sorrowful for me. It's sad.
Taryn Armstrong
I mean, the thing for me is, I've been thinking about this, that, like, especially when it comes to Drew and Devins, because Drew just continues to trust him. Very first night of feeds, very first interaction we see with Drew and Devins, they're doing the finger guns. They love each other. This is a duo, a genuine duo. And they talk about Melody and how Devins specifically says, I don't trust Melody because she's trying to distance herself from Mallory, one of her close allies in the. In the game. And Drew agrees. He says, yeah, that's pretty sketchy. Drew then goes on to try to distance himself from Melody. In that very conversation and in all subsequent conversations, Devin's told him what sets him off in terms of, like, what makes him suspicious of a person as a player. He says, the. If you try to distance yourself, if you are somebody who is, like, gonna try to throw your own allies under the bus, that's gonna make me not trust you very much. And then Drew spent the next four weeks doing exactly that thinking, yeah, but I'm. I'm good with Evans. He won't distrust me. I'm doing it for Devins. But the reality is that. That I do think this is a huge part of what made Devin's ultimately turn on Drew. And. And I've been thinking about this too, because. Because I. I have these thoughts. I'm just like, man, I just. I wish I could talk to Angela and just tell her, by the way, Drew was never coming for you. Like, not even once. Not even when he was on the block. Never even thought about it, because I. I just. I want her to know that information. And I would say the same thing to Devin's, and I would say the same thing to Dee, and I would say they were. Drew is actually so loyal to you. I just want them to know that information. But I know what they would say to me in return. I know that they would say, ah, that sucks. Wish he didn't act so sketchy.
Ollie Wellness Announcer (Alternate)
Mm.
Taryn Armstrong
I just couldn't trust it. Whether he was loyal or not, it's just the move we had to make because we just didn't know he was doing all of these things that were so sketchy. And, and for the record, I don't think that's a good response. I don't think that he was doing those things that were sketchy in the way that they think, because everyone's been doing those things. And there were other bigger threats who were doing worse and were actually against them that they probably should have been looking at, but that's what they would say to me. And, and Drew does have to take accountability for that side of it, which is that he was spending all of his time with those people and then throwing them under the bus to his side. And that's just not a strategy that develops good trust with any one particular side. And so, you know, for as much as he has been loyal and that they shouldn't be going after them. And, and I, and I. And I personally don't think that the explanation of, well, he shouldn't have been sketchy will be enough to really fully justify the movement. Drew also, I think, is an example of a player that we see all the time that you just. You just shouldn't throw your allies under the bus, even if you don't consider them to be allies. There's just no reason. The only reason they're sketched out by Melody is because of the information Drew told them about Melody. And then his closeness to Melody makes them feel sketched out because he's close to somebody who is against them, but they only know that she's against them because he told them in the first place. And you put yourself in that position. And so I just. I needed to get off that. Off my chest.
Maggie Morgan
And also something I need to get off my chest as the fandom, as people watching this being like Angela Drew or Angela Devins and D. How could you go after he was loyal, he and them saying, like, well, he shouldn't have done so many. He shouldn't have acted so sketchy. That's like amorphous. You know what I mean? Like, that's an amorphous thing. But we felt that way this weekend about Drew. Like, you can't. I personally, as. As who I am cannot be like, wow, Angela Dean, Devin, so unfair going after him. They have such a bad read. Because this weekend I had a terrible read of Drew and I thought the worst of Drew. And I do have all of the information. I've seen all of the diary rooms. I watched the live fe and I thought the worst of Drew all weekend. So I don't know what that says other that, like, I don't know what that says about Drew as a player because, again, it's like this amorphous thing. But, like, I think he just is that kind of guy where you're like, what's he up to? You know, he plays too much. Maybe that's what it is. Like, Drew plays too much. And I, I can't now fault Angela even as much as I was before, because I watched every single person who watches the live feeds, including Taryn, be like, drew has the power and is not using it. And, you know, even if you only did it during your crash out on the live feed update, like, I just don't know that I can fault now the vets as much as I was before because we did it too.
Taryn Armstrong
I, I will push back on that a little, actually, because I, I do think that, like, a huge portion of the fan base who thought that he did not use the coin thought so because this idiot is too loyal to his people. Like, that was. The read on Drew was like, I can't believe that he. Or, sorry, that they could believe that. That he was so stupidly loyal that he wouldn't use the coin when he absolutely should have. Whereas if, if your thought process was, he's sketchy and, and he shouldn't be trusted or whatever, you wouldn't believe that he had the coin because you're. Obviously, he would have used it because he would have been up to something. We believed it because of the accurate read because, let me be clear. I, I, He's. He's talked about if he had the power to take over. He's talked about doing it on his own. Hoa. He had that idea. He just didn't actually have the thing. So it's very much in his wheelhouse to have done that thing. And, and while I think it's, like, a funny notion to talk about, like, oh, well, we were all sketched out, too. Ultimately, our read was not that he was sketchy and going to betray the vets with the coin. It was that he was so stupidly loyal that he didn't use it.
Maggie Morgan
I think, I think my takeaway. I hear what you're saying, Taryn. I think my takeaway is that Drew is easy to project onto. And I think that, like, there is this sort of, like, reinforcement loop with him where you're like, oh, he's doing this. And then because he's, as I said, playing too much, you're like, oh, see, we were right. He. He is doing this. But I do hear what you're saying about the Loyal part. And I. Yeah, I just. I feel for the guy. I'm not going to lie. I really feel for him. Maybe it's also because I feel guilty that I was so mean to him in my head this weekend.
Taryn Armstrong
Well, I also think. Because I do agree that's sort of the point that I was making before too. I think that, like, and there are things I've mentioned before as well, where, like, Drew is so sarcastic sometimes. He does not make it easy to feel comfortable around him if you are not already, like, in on the jokes that he's kind. That he's making and not everybody is all the time. But I also think that it becomes easy to project on somebody as soon as they don't have the backing of everybody else, because there are. We saw it happen where, like, Drew was really good with Kamu. He was really good with Devin's. He was really good with Barrett. These people really trusted him. But as the avalanche started to fall and Ka Mu is hearing from one person, he's like, nah, I don't believe it. I like Drew. I trust Drew. He's hearing it from a second person. Nah, they're not giving me any concrete evidence. He's hearing it from a third person. What is Drew doing that is causing all these people. He's hearing it from a fourth person. Okay, I need to. I need to start investigating this. He talks to. To Devin's about it, a fifth person. And Devin says, maybe we do need to look out for Drew. And now Camu is like, yeah, everything he does is sketchy. He's done this to himself. But it took a. It took the. The whole house. Right? It took everybody saying a thing for. For Kamu to come to that conclusion. Quite frankly, in a similar way, where I believed D had the power and I was getting roasted for it and certainly made me more susceptible to the idea that once Deed denied it to Devins. And then, you know, Drew was saying a thing on the feeds that. That seems like he might be implying that he could have it. That I'm like, is this seriously possible? And my mind is much more open to it when everybody else.
Maggie Morgan
Confirmation bias. Yeah.
Taryn Armstrong
Confirmation point that I'm like, yeah, maybe I am the crazy one. And. And I need to, like, consider this possibility. And I think that is how it works in the house so, so often. And so I. I think that it would be remiss to. We would be remiss to not talk about that angle of it as well.
Maggie Morgan
I love this conversation, and I'm sorry that I've Moved us a little bit away from the events.
Taryn Armstrong
Listen, there's not much else to talk about.
Maggie Morgan
I know, I know. But, like, this is what I love about Big Brother, and I feel so lucky, genuinely, that we had this sort of group psychosis this weekend as the fandom, because I feel like it really gives you perspective on what they're feeling in the house all the time. Like, I. Like, we had egg on our face, truly, about this power. And I think that being able to see the confirmation bias and the group think, like, an experience at yourself really makes you have even more empathy for somebody like Drew, who is just a victim of this. Honestly. Like, of course there are things that he's not doing. Right? Of course there are things he should be doing, etc. Etc. But, like, at the end of the day, he's not getting clued in to what's going on, and he's allowing himself to just keep on. To keep on. You know what I mean? And, yeah, I think that this is just a really. This week has just been a very interesting time because it's so boring in the house. It's been a very interesting time to be watching Big Brother.
Taryn Armstrong
I think it's always an interesting time to be watching each other.
Maggie Morgan
Okay, Taryn. All right. You're right. You got me. You like Big Brother more than me.
Taryn Armstrong
I don't know. I don't know.
Maggie Morgan

Lyric is gonna go and check in with Haley while she's talking to Angela. She's got a box of Cheez Its, and she's. She's chatting with Angela. Lyric comes to check in on them. Angela tells Lyric, I will never vote for you. And they're like. Like, never. Like, even though, like, what do you mean? Like, never vote you out? Oh, yeah. Yeah. After Lyric leaves, Angela's making a face like, oh, I feel bad. And Haley, he was like, stop it. This is a game. Angela. This is a cheit. Cheit are meant to be eaten. This is a game. I know. I. I just remember being in that situation.
Maggie Morgan
Like, I'm honestly kind of obsessed with how just, like, truly awful socially Haley is. If I was in the house, I would be like, you are coming with me, and I would not vote her out for anything. Because how I'm trying to think of even somebody who. To compare her to who is, like, so bad socially in the house and, like, does not care what about her social game at all. Like, do you have even anybody? I don't even.
Taryn Armstrong
I mean, Cody was pretty bad socially.
Maggie Morgan
Yeah. You're right. Yeah. And Cody truly did not care.
Taryn Armstrong
Yeah.
Maggie Morgan
That's actually.
Taryn Armstrong
He's a very. He is a very different personality, but he has a similar level of like. Well, the thing too is that like, I feel like Haley does care.
Maggie Morgan
Totally.
Taryn Armstrong
But like, you know what I mean? Yeah.
Maggie Morgan
But she's just so. I agree with you. Cody, like, was like, I do not care if I offend people. Haley is like, I do not care if I offend the people I don't like.
Taryn Armstrong
I don't care if I offend you. But if you do get offended, screw you.
Maggie Morgan
Yeah.

Give now@feedingamerica.org summerhunger so they continue their conversations. Another. They start talking about like, Melody and like, Haley's going on about like, how she thinks Melody was probably into Kamu first and then settled for Drew. And then like, she's like, do you, Angela, do you think Drew has crazy eyes? And Angela's like, if he were to do this to me, yes, he would. And then they get interrupted by Drew, who joins them. He's like, guys, Haley, I, I was, listen, I was doubting your plan before, but it clearly has worked perfectly because Melody's down or Mallory's downstairs telling me that you guys all want to vote me out. So you guys, I mean, the plan worked really well. And as always with Drew, Haley just is interrupt. He's. He's coming upstairs. Like, great job. The plan's working. They think you're. They think we're not with each other. And in the meantime, Haley's like, why would she say that? What? Why, why would she. No, because your plan is work. I don't know why she would say that to you, Drew. Well, no, I'm saying that your. The plan is working. We don't seem like we're work. Yeah. I don't know. I'm sorry, Drew. I don't know why. I don't know why she would say that. Okay. Oh, God.
Maggie Morgan
I just so like Haley's. I'm telling you, Haley's commitment to being one of the worst social players I've ever seen is unreal. Unmatched. In fact, like, I truly think right now she's drawing dead in a final two vote.
Taryn Armstrong
I would, I would agree.
Maggie Morgan
Yeah. I don't think there's anybody who she could lala.
Taryn Armstrong
Maybe.
Maggie Morgan
Maybe.
Ollie Wellness Announcer (Alternate)
Yeah.
Maggie Morgan
And she hates lala.
Taryn Armstrong
Hey, that's personal, Maggie. That's not game. Think about the cheez.
Maggie Morgan
Its
Taryn Armstrong
Drew stays up there for a while and I mean you can just like Angela's face is literally pained anytime she has to spend an extended period of time with Drew. But in the meantime, Melody, Mallory and Taylor talk. Melody in particular is still trying to like ring that bell. Rah, rah. We still listen. We still have numbers, you know, like, we can still do something. We just need to win something. And there's this general speculation that the wall comp is coming. The. The backyard's been closed for a while. There's just that. That feeling in the air now. It's a pretty common feeling in the air. They often think a wall comp is coming because the wall comp is like the comp. But. But I think that we're all ready for more collective delusion. And the idea that the wall comp is coming is appealing because
Fan or Casual Commentator
the.
Taryn Armstrong
The side that is not in power, that hasn't won a single thing yet, is full of people who I think are more capable of winning the wall comp potentially. Mallory, Lyric, Melody, even Taylor. These are all somewhat in the archetype of at least the kinds of players that used to be able to win the wall comp. The reality is that, you know, Kamu is also a player that can usually win a wall comp nowadays.
Maggie Morgan
So Kamu, Drew, I also think D is like maybe the best person to win a wall comp.
Taryn Armstrong
Yash, of course, I think would be very well suited.
Maggie Morgan
D has impeccable balance. We've seen that on Survivors. Very strong. Like, you know it also the wall comp, truly, it's like people who are super built for it and you're like, oh my gosh, they're gonna be great. They slip, you know, in recent years with the slime. It's, it's.
Taryn Armstrong
I mean, end of the day, how it's been going in recent years, in my opinion, is where did they put the handholds. And do you happen to fit into the slot, into one of the slots? Well, you can be really small and light, but if your hands have to be up here. Sorry, you're done. If you're too tall and you have to, like, lean down. Sorry, you're done. If you're right in the middle. But it's just slightly off, like, sorry, you're probably not gonna. If your hands fit perfectly where they need to be, and you can stand and you can not have to move your hands and not have to move your feet, you're in a really good position. So you have to just kind of be the right size. And they change the right size all the time. So, you know, who knows?
Maggie Morgan
Exactly.
Taryn Armstrong
But Haley is gonna talk to Kamu about the Lyric situation. This is later in the night. This is during the round table. And they're talking about Lyric being, you know, she was lying a little bit earlier in the day. Kamu is frustrated because Lyric is saying that, like, Kamu was trying to essentially, like, get out of her. What was going on with Mallory. And then it came out, and he's just kind of, like, annoyed that he was in that situation at all. And it reminds him of how that, like, Lyric was pretending that she wasn't with Rome when she really was with Rome. And you know what? Got a proposal. He says Lyric is a significantly bigger threat than Melody and Haley. You were just talking about how none of the women like Melody. That's a reason to keep her. Right? And Haley is like, wow, I didn't think anyone would go for it. But, yeah, I'm down. I mean, for you of all people to have brought this up, I mean, yeah, this. I would want this. And Common was like, yeah, I just feel like Lyric is way more likely to win power. She's way, way better of a competitor. Melody can't win a thing. And. And I. I really don't appreciate that. That she was making it out to be, like, I was trying to pull information from her. And just like that, they are both very down. They just continue to reinforce this idea over the next, like, 10 minutes that, like, yeah, we would really prefer. Now, this is to be clear, in the event that Drew wins the blockbuster and it's Melody versus Lyric, that they would vote Lyric out over Melody. Now, this was happening, as I said, during the roundtable last night. I was made aware of it. And what I said was, I don't really think this means anything until we get Devin's and D and their input on this. And wouldn't you know it. Devins walks in and they go, hey, Devin's. We were just talking about this idea that maybe we should vote Lyric out over Melody. And instantly. Because I feel like I can read Devin's like a book. Yeah, that's an interesting idea. Devin's doesn't want this. And he's like, that's. Listen, I'm open. I'm open. I was just thinking that, like, I mean, I. I understand what you're saying, but Drew is much less likely to work with Larkin.
Feeding America Announcer
I.
Taryn Armstrong
It's time to address this because this is far from the first time that Devin's has messed up some people's names. Here are some of his favorites. Larin. He called Mallory the pipe queen because he couldn't get Mallory and Melody right? Which, listen, I get that. He calls La La Lulu. He calls the tool. Tool shed the tree house. And he. He just can't. Like, I. I don't know where these things come from. Like Larkin tree house.
Ollie Wellness Announcer (Alternate)
And he's.
Taryn Armstrong
And they, they call him out on it in this conversation. They're like, you mean lyrics? He's like, yeah, yeah, lyric not Lin. Yeah, I mess up the tool shed in the tree house all the time. And then later in the conversation, he's like, yeah, so with the Treehouse being dead, it's like,
Maggie Morgan
also, he's been living with her for a long time. Like, this is not. Like, this would be understandable if it was day like 8. This is a month of not being able to escape one another. I. I'm so confused.
Taryn Armstrong
I. I think this is just a thing for some people. I mean, I'm. I'm a huge fan of Matt Groom who commentates the World cup climbing series. And, and he gets names wrong all the time. He's a commentator and people give him for it. But. But, you know, it's. It's just kind of a thing. I think it's just tough for people. I. I fully can empathize, especially with the melody Mallory, but it's just like, it's just a really, really agree.
Maggie Morgan
Like, that is egregious.
Taryn Armstrong
It's. It's lyric to Larkin being corrected in the conversation, going straight back to Larkin. Like Lulu Lala. You can also maybe see Larkin and Treehouse is so, so funny.
Maggie Morgan
Larkin. If I was lyric, I would be so offended.
Taryn Armstrong
Like, the weird thing is that, like, Larkin is like bare. Like, Lyric and Larkin are both like, it's not like he's. He's subbing it in for a more common name.
Maggie Morgan
I know it's Weird. It's weird. I don't. I don't know.
Taryn Armstrong
Oh, boy. Anyway, he says Drew is much less likely to work with Larkin. And they're like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But Lyric is more likely to win a competition. And so there's a little bit of back and forth, but you can tell Devins is already starting the train of, like, shutting this down. And then Dee joins, and she joins the shutting down party. She says, we can make a fake alliance with Lyric. She's so sweet. She doesn't even know what she's doing. Whereas Melody. Melody connects Drew with Mallory. So, like, in the event that Drew stays and Melody stays, then it's still Drew, Melody, Mallory. Whereas if it's Drew and Melody's gone, he doesn't really have a connection to Lyric. And Kamu's like, yeah, I don't think Lyric is as sweet and isn't as you think. I think she was really trying to, like, make some. Make up some lies about me. And. But Devin's is like, ah, that's a good point, though, that, like, you know, with the Drew of it all, you know, Drew is connected to Melody and he's not connected to Larkin. And so, you know, the fact that he still thinks he's in the treehouse, it's like, stop it.
Maggie Morgan
Stop it.
Taryn Armstrong
And so with the power of both D and Devin's, they fully shut this down. By the end of this conversation, they are saying, okay, you guys are right. We should vote Melody out over Lyric.
Maggie Morgan
Yeah. And I mean, I think that this is good work from Lyrics to make them completely underestimate her. Because I agree, if I was D, I would probably want, like, de should want somebody like Lyric out because I don't know that Lyric would come for her. But, like, maybe Lyric is very sneaky and in a good way. Like, I'm. Like I said, I'm a lyricist. I see Lyric as if there is a battle over a steamroll that happens. Somebody who sneaks by, like, she's classic floater to me. And I. Especially now that Rome is gone. And I feel I understand why they're like, why would we get rid of Melody? We're trying to weaken Drew, but again, you don't really need to be getting rid of Drew. It's just.
Taryn Armstrong
Yeah, that's the key. That's the key. It's like, you know, these two are effortlessly controlling these other players, which is very impressive, but they're doing so to make a move that I do think is suboptimal. They're. Their argument makes sense, if Drew is really the problem they think he is. Yeah, he's not. Lyric is probably more of a problem for them than. Than both Melody and Drew combined, especially considering that she is a better competitor than probably both of them at this point. And so letting Lyric go here and leaving Melody in with Drew, yes, they're correct. She does connect Drew to. To. To Mallory in that way, but so does Barrett. And it's like, Drew will still be connected to Mallory and Lyric will still be connected to Mallory. They'll all still be connected. It doesn't actually make that much of a difference. And the bottom line is they still, even through all of this, don't need to be all that concerned with Drew because Drew's still targeting red corner, which is still fine for them at this point. And so I do think this is a bit of a misstep, but it's. Again, it's like they have so much room for error that it doesn't really matter.
Maggie Morgan
Totally, Totally. I also think, like, Lyric is the type of person who could absolutely win a jury vote where Melody at this point is not. And I know we're very early to be talking about that, but, yes, the
Taryn Armstrong
rest of the night, as I said, it's. It's just a lot more of Lyric, Mallory, and Melody trying to reconcile this whole situation with who threw who under the bus, and. And Lyric talking about how she feel like they made her say these things and she's sorry. She doesn't know. And Melody. Melody is a lot more, like, militant about the situation, as per. As per usual. She's like, Lyric, the queen of I don't know, all of a sudden has something to say when. When she's about to be put on the block. But they spend a lot of time together and they hang out, and, like, they're all like, oh, it's. It's fine. We forgive you. We need to. We still need to rally the side. Lyric has said earlier in the day, like, hey, if I go, I need you guys to, like, not give in. You need to fight that side and so on and so forth. And that's really just, like, the rest of the night.
Maggie Morgan
Drew and Melody spending a lot of time together, you know, as per usual. Yes, as per usual. But, like, they. Yeah, they. They are kind of attached at the hip a little bit. He flips around, but, like, you're, like, laying around together. It's. It's very showmancy to me, and I know it's not. It's, like, not physical or anything, and they're Not. But, like, it's very much two people who are flirting and have a connection in that way.
Taryn Armstrong
It's, it's, it's so easy to see Melody on the feeds. Will is, like, pretty bummed out this week because of the situation. She'll be just kind of, like, looking miserable alone. Drew will come in and her face just lights up. Like, you can. You can absolutely just see the way that, like, she looks at him, the way that he constantly is drawn to her. There is absolutely stuff happening there. They're just not, like, doing anything.
Maggie Morgan
And I get it. I get it. For me, loving the slow burn of it. Wish since one of them's probably going to go this week, they just kiss already. But, you know, now I'm feeling old. I'm like, am I old? And, like, gross for saying this for these people that are, like, 10 years younger than me, almost like, I. Maybe. But, you know, it's fun. It's at least some, like, levity and fun when you're watching the feeds.
Taryn Armstrong
All right, anything else that you wanted to bring up from yesterday, Maggie?
Ollie Wellness Announcer (Alternate)
No.
Maggie Morgan
I talked for so long about basically nothing.

Podcast: RHAP: We Know Big Brother
Hosts: Taran Armstrong & Maggie Morgan
Date: August 4, 2026
This episode of "We Know Big Brother" dives into events from Day 28 in the Big Brother 28 house, focusing on the aftermath of the Veto ceremony, the naming of the replacement nominee (Lyric), conversations on shifting targets, alliance instability, and the psychological toll of a season-long steamroll. Taran and Maggie provide analysis, player critiques, and reflect on the emotional impact both within the house and among the fanbase.
Haley, the HOH, had nominated Drew, Melody, and Taylor (Drew as the main target).
Taylor won Veto and removed herself from the block.
Lyric was named as the replacement nominee ([02:57]).
Lyric, in a last-ditch effort, tried to save herself by throwing Mallory under the bus, telling Kamū and Chuck that Mallory was targeting them. Haley instantly dismissed Lyric as untrustworthy and still put her on the block ([03:30]).
Quote – Taran:
"Chuck went to Haley with lyrics information, and she immediately shut it down, saying Lyric's lying. She's doing whatever she can to save herself." ([03:30])
Maggie opens up about feeling the psychological drain of "steamrolling" gameplay, confessing she’d misread Drew’s power status over the weekend and apologizing for mentally "cussing him out" ([01:48]).
Players at the bottom (Lyric, Melody, Mallory) are continually undervalued; their strategic pitches are instantly dismissed by the in-power majority ([04:25], [06:18]).
Haley is consistently blunt and unsympathetic in her dealings with others, particularly with Lyric (denying the validity of any deals made in the HOH comp, calling Lyric out directly to her face) ([05:09]–[06:18], [35:44]–[39:25]).
Quote – Haley (paraphrased by Maggie):
"Oh, it was only good for one nomination ceremony. You didn't clarify the veto." ([06:18])
Maggie and Taran compare Haley’s social ineptitude to Cody’s on BB, noting her ability to alienate houseguests and likely draw dead in a jury vote ([35:44]–[39:46]).
Drew remains oblivious to his status as the main target, feeling only existential anxiety about the vote but lacking concrete knowledge of the full betrayal. He overestimates his relationships, especially with Devins and Barrett ([12:36]–[14:23], [21:43]–[25:07]).
Devins manipulates Barrett using classic “sleep powder” tactics to keep him complacent and loyal to the alliance, echoing his prior method with Drew ([17:58]–[19:47]).
Both hosts reflect on how the viewers and players alike got caught up in misreading the game situation, especially relating to Drew’s supposed power, illustrating the psychological power of groupthink and confirmation bias ([27:00]–[33:12]).
Kamū and Haley briefly consider flipping the vote to keep Melody over Lyric (seeing Lyric as a bigger comp threat), but Devins and D intervene to quash this idea, reinforcing the current plan and keeping the majority alliance in control ([42:57]–[49:30]).
There is some criticism that, while the controlling side is operating suboptimally (undervaluing Lyric’s threat over Drew or Melody), their position is strong enough that mistakes are unlikely to hurt them ([50:21]–[51:40]).
Melody and Drew spend considerable time together, with their interactions described as "very showmancy," lighting up whenever together, despite lack of explicit romance ([52:53]–[54:25]).
Maggie (on the steamroll):
"The steamroll makes you be like maybe I gotta touch some grass because I got put into mass psychosis…" ([01:48])
Taran (on Devins manipulating Barrett):
"Devins is … using spore on Barrett. It's just a sleep powder." ([17:58])
Taran (on the social game):
"Angela's face is literally pained anytime she has to spend an extended period of time with Drew." ([40:05])
Maggie (on Lyric’s game):
"Lyric knows exactly what she's doing. She's being completely manipulative and using what she can in this moment." ([09:18])
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s update as the house moves closer to eviction and anticipation grows for a possible endurance wall comp!
