from VO to HOH every single season, you know, he is the reason, you know, what's happening, happening. Rob said that he could do it tomorrow. He will do it again. Hello, everyone, and good morning. Welcome to our live feed update for July 29th. I'm your host Dar Armstrong, and I'm here to update you on everything that happened yesterday. The big brother 28 live feeds. It was day 22 in the house and it was a day of vote talking mostly, but really a bit of a slower day as there was a lot that happened the night before. There was a lot of potential for things to go down. Not a lot of it did, but there is a lot of movement for this vote, especially the Jason blockbuster situation, Mallory versus Lala, all kinds of stuff like that. And with me to talk through it all. Matt, how you doing, Matt?
B
Oh, I'm so good. Yeah. A slower day. It does feel like those are kind of rare around here in this season to have slower days, but, you know, we're due for them every once in a while. And in my mind, even though it's a slower day yesterday, it kind of feels like this house is like a shaken can of, like, Coke waiting for someone to open it up. And the second whoever opens it up is going to get spra all over the face with this bottle of Coke that I'm picturing in my mind just like all of the dynamics between these different groups. And are we going to flip the vote? Are we going to keep this person, that person? The second that these things do ultimately, you know, explode and Drew finds out, if he ever finds out that people are coming for him, like all of these little things, once stuff hits the fan, it's going to hit the fan. It just didn't happen yesterday.
A
Exactly. Yes. Just to set people back up here, of course. Kamu, the hoh, Lala, Mallory and Jason on the block the night before, things had gotten a bit interesting because Angela had made a wild play for Kahnu to flip on Drew by telling him that that Drew was coming after the red corner. And Kamu's like, he said the red corner. And she was like, yeah. And asked many times to clarify and she kept saying yes until finally realizing that she shouldn't be saying yes. It was a whole ordeal. And the big thing has been, will Kamu talk to Drew about this? And on top of all of that, what's going to happen with this vote? Because especially the Mallory Lala of it all has quite a divisive sort of tinge to it. But there was even a push that the day before we're talking about for Jason to stay in the event that he ends up staying on the block. So we're gonna get to the bottom of all of that as we talk through the day. Angela kind of starts her day immediately, trying to do some damage control, talking to Haley and letting her know about what happened the night before, that she had talked to Kamu. She had accidentally talked, said that Drew knew the red corner name, but that's. That's just because she was really tired. And that's actually not even remotely true. But still, Drew's bad news, and she told Kamu about it, and he's probably going to try to flip the vote because that's what he was doing the night before and. And everything like that.
B
Yeah. Look, I'm loving this Angela storyline. It's. It was getting a little tiring with the. She's coming after Drew. She's coming after Drew even though this isn't good for her game. And then obviously, it's been talked about that she kind of pulled back from that a little bit as this week got going. But, like, now that we're back in a position that maybe it's this upcoming week that we can see this possibility happening. She's starting to, like, work herself back up, getting into this mode. And I've seen a lot of people discussing or heard as well of just like, Angela is just not used to playing in a position like this. She's not used to. She's. She's not been nominated. She went the Entire Big Brother 26 experience, you know, being nominated half the time taken off the block the other half of the time while she was nominated. So it's just like a new type of big brother for her to be experiencing here. And just this week in particular has been one of the most fascinating on the Angela Murray, like, as a game player study for me.
A
Yeah. And she's gonna spend the day, I think, being. Being a little bit quieter in general, like, a little bit more like, oh, I maybe did a little too much last night. Let me. Let me chill just a little bit. Very quickly, we do get a conversation between Kamu and Drew in the morning, and this is really, like, probably the pivotal one. Is Kamu going to question Drew about what he's been hearing? He has a final two with Drew. He is being pit against Drew. Like, having a conversation here could do wonders for really, both of their games. In many ways. But he does not mention the Angela stuff. They only talk about the vote because the other part of what Angela said was, hey, listen to Drew try to keep Melody around. And. And so they talk a little bit about that. Drew apologizes for seeming like he was pushing. He was really just Devil's advocating. And he hopes Kamu doesn't think he's trying to lead a charge against him to flip the vote or anything. And that's about it. It's a small conversation. As they're walking in the backyard, they promise they'll talk later. They don't really get a huge chance to later. They have another small conversation, and it's pretty similar to this one. It's very much like, yeah, you know, I'm not. I'm not trying to push too hard or anything. And so ultimately, this massive slip up by Angela not taken advantage of in any significant way, so far from common,
B
just to offer, like, the most color commentary of color commentary, a little bit of, like, skipping and holding hands between these two while they're walking around the backyard. So, you know, just constantly wondering what Kamu is going to do next with this image he's trying to uphold. But it was, yeah, it was an interesting attempt at Camu getting to the bottom of this because he really didn't get anywhere with it. But I feel like a lot of what the dynamics have been with the group at large versus their thoughts about Drew is like, no one ever obviously, like, confronts him about it, like, full on saying, like, you know, like, accusing him of anything or, you know, like, really putting these matters in a way that, like, would get him to be suspicious that other people don't trust him anymore. And I don't know if it's like, you know, we're all trying to play nice still because we're not actually coming after him yet. Or a little bit of just like, we don't want to actually know the answer. We don't want to hear him actually say the answer. I don't know. Because at some point, again, it's going to blow up in a bigger way when they decide to take a shot or if Drew for some reason figures it out and flips back on them first. But right now it's just like, we're using such careful language in asking each other these questions and not actually getting to the bottom of anything.
A
Yeah. And I mean, it makes sense for, like, the Haley's and the Chucks who never really had much of a relationship with Drew. But I really do think, like, I would personally Credit in particular, again, the Devins approach on Camus where it's not like, hey, we can't trust Drew, or hey, Drew's coming after you. Drew's doing this, Drew's doing that. Because Devins is able to paint Drew in his position as in opposition to Camus. It's not like Kamu's like, do I trust Drew or not? Should I ask Drew about this? Is it true or not? Devins is telling Kamu this is the position that he's in. It's undeniable. And that position is at odds with what we want this week and potentially in the future. And Camus sees that as facts. Like, yeah, Drew is in that position. There's no question to be asked of him. Hey, are you. Do you like Melody? Are you like, with that other side? He knows those things are true, so there's no point in talking to him now. The danger came when Angela, of course, tried to make an actual concrete claim against Drew, which was he's. He is coming after you. That is one that he could be fact checking. That's why that claim was so dangerous. But I think that. I think that for now, it's. It's just kind of being taken with a grain of salt. And, and as we sort of learn later with Kamu, like, the. The he's coming after me thing is still he's kind of just ignoring that part. I'm not sure he fully believes it, but he's also not willing to like, fully question Drew. It's not just. It's just not an issue for him at this point. And that's what. When he talks to. To. To Devins again later in the day, that's kind of what Devin's is. Devin's is pushing as well. Like, like, let's, you know, let's just focus on this vote situation and the position that Drew is in. We don't need to focus on any other parts of the claims. Like, that's the thing that we can deal with later. And so keeping him focused on that and not on is he coming for me? Can I trust him? I think is key to preventing him from actually talking with Drew about it.
B
This part of the season being so Drew centric because just about every single person can see the position that he' in in the house has really been one of the biggest things that I've, I guess, cared about in the early part of Big Brother 28, because it's just. I can't remember the last time that we've had a player in such in this position, like, you have a player that's in a good spot in their own alliance, and maybe they are thinking of, like, a Chelsea who was playing so well in 26, and she obviously had people that she was good with and then had good relationships around the rest of the house. But, like, the way that the structure of this house is that it seems like it's two sides and there's multiple smaller pockets of people that are all working together, and a lot of it involves. Involves Drew. And just the way that everyone sees, like, he spends so much of his day, if not all of his day, with Melody and Mallory and that group, and his alliance isn't with them. His alliance is supposed to be with all of these other people in the house, and they can talk themselves into convincing themselves that, yes, he's supposed to be doing this. This is the point. But also, he's making great relationships, and he's their age, and he's hanging out with them all day. And it's like, the story for Drew could end next week. He could go home next week or the week after. And all of this was just for the four or fifth boot of the season, if that's what it ends up being, which would be insane. It's happened before. Like, I think back to, like, 26, and we thought Brooklyn was playing one of the best games of all time, and then she's just gone. So if that happens, that would be crazy. But if this is, like, just a part of Drew's long journey to the end of the game, then we're just. I feel like we're watching, like, a historical player that we're going to discuss for years to come in the making.
A
Yes. Well, I. I find it interesting. I think it's an example of something we talk about a lot, which is the idea of want a secret alliance but not being able to pull it off. Because the idea of a secret alliance is so fun. Everyone wants to be Danielle and Jason, but, you know, the idea of a secret alliance is. Is easy. Pulling it off is hard. You're not hanging out with them as much. You're hanging out with other people. And at the end of the day, what we often see is that, like, you can make as many alliances as you want, but the people you hang out with are usually the people that you're actually working with. And if you don't realize that, then you're the one that's going to get screwed. Even in the situations like the brigade where they really did pull off, like, we're hanging out with Other people. And. And. But we're secretly working together. There was still one person in the brigade who. That wasn't true for Matt Hoffman himself. It really only ever fully worked with the cookout. And again, those. Those circumstances were pretty unique.
B
Yeah.
A
So, like, you do have to be so cognizant, cognizant of this. You need somebody in the alliance who's really rah rah who genuinely, genuinely wants to keep everyone together for as long as possible or, you know, maybe you need to be that person or maybe you need to actually just split. And like, I think about season 24 and how, you know, for all of his other paranoia, Kyle was a player who was just like, you know what? Screw pose pack. Screw this alliance, screw leftovers. He was willing to just make jumps when he knew that he was not in an advantageous position anymore. And if not for his paranoia, I think that really was about to work for him. You have to be willing to make these moves. You can't cling to things that are in the past just because it was a fun, secret alliance for you. And this has really been Drew's issue so far.
B
Far.
A
We'll see if it's able. If he's able to do anything about it moving forward.
B
Is. Is Devin's giving you any of that rah rah, like, trying to keep the group together. Is that like kind of what you're going for there or.
A
No, I mean, I'm going for Enzo. I'm going for Anthony Douglas. You know what I mean? Like, there needs to be somebody that's like, we're brothers, you know, like, like, like this is the castle we're building. Like, this is what we're gonna do and it doesn't have to be so bro y. But, like, Devin's is much more like, honestly, he's much more of a Hayden. He's much more like, hey, I've got. I don't know about these guys, but I've got you don't worry. Which is do. Which is doing the work of keeping them on the hook, but it's not doing the work of keeping them as a big alliance because that's not his actual goal. You'll notice that Devins isn't being like, hey, rah rah, we've got crossovers. This is going to be amazing. We're going to be legendary. He's just like, oh, no, yeah, me, you, Barrett, we'll make this work. We're going to do great. We're going to do great things. So anyway, heading to this, Jason vote. Of course, Melody had pitched the idea of flipping the vote to keep Jason the night before. However, she ran into the biggest obstacle that night, which was Drew himself, who had expressed some misgivings about the idea. And after hanging out with Drew all night the night before, Melody and Mallory are both kind of starting to feel like maybe the Jason plan isn't gonna work. Drew doesn't really seem down. He's made some good points about Jason and how, like, can we really trust Jason to work with us? Of course, the real reason Drew doesn't want to do this is because he doesn't want to blow up the crossovers or his position if he doesn't have to. He feels like he might be able to convince them on the Mallory point. He doesn't really feel like he can do that on the Jason point. And I think genuinely he is a little bit concerned about Jason as a player and how quickly he might throw people under the bus. Those points have sunk into Melody and Mallory. They kind of agree they might need to. To back off of the Jason plan. However, they can't tell Jason that they're not. That they're backing off of the Jason plan because if they tell him that they're no longer voting for him to stay, they're worried that he might no longer be a vote for Mallory to stay against. Against Lala in the event that he wins the blockbuster. So now all of a sudden, they're going to need to pretend like they're still in on this entire flip. And they talk to Yash about this as well, and Yash agrees. Yash goes and tells Barrett and Barrett says, yes, that makes sense. They agree it was probably Drew that made this flip back in the. This direction, but that's fine. And Yash is like, we basically just never have to tell Devin's about any of this. Of course, Devin's already informed in some capacity, but. But they are still keeping Mallory. So I'll tell you pretty much right away, the Jason flip died, it has not been resurrected. And the. The intrigue comes back as it has been all week long, to Mallory versus Lala.
B
Yeah, I think, you know, obviously this gets picked back up if Jason wins the blockbuster and just is able to save himself, naturally, that they go to him and say, hey, we wanted to be with you this whole time. Yeah, hey, we were talking about saving you all week, but we just knew that it was going to be really hard and we wanted to be on your side. I mean, I'm glad they're not planning to go, hey, Jason, So we talked about sa you, but actually we can't do it. It's not going to happen. So that when Jason wins the blockbuster, they don't, you know, look silly running back to him being like, we were just kidding, we were totally going to save you regardless. Like, what kind of conversation would that be? But yeah, no, if Jason wins the blockbuster, obviously they're going to do everything that they can to make sure they're on his side, which it shouldn't be that hard to make that pitch. It should be a natural thing that's going to come to this group to having him be a part of it. But I certainly understand the idea of the flip, I think was much more, more fun for us to think as a possibility. Look, watching feeds, watching the episodes, obviously it sounds more exciting, but from their perspectives in the game, it can't. To me, I can't put myself in their shoes and think that that's really a good idea at all. He's just such a big target and yes, that puts him continuously in front of you, but so many times that big target can be so big that maybe the other side says, you know what, we're going to take some time off of shooting, shooting at them and focus on everybody else. Which would be where Melody gets herself into trouble.
A
Yeah, and this is, this is another thing we talk about a lot. But, like, for as much as I also like, it would love to see this flip. And I do think that saving Jason has a lot of upside, particularly for the next week. He is also demonstratively a player who absolutely would do and say whatever. Like, the second he gets saved, if the other side wins again, he's going to be the first person up in that hoh room. Like, guys, I'm so with you now. I don't even care about those people as he should. Yeah, but the problem is that they know he's that player now. And so, like, yes, it's good to have that number and yes, there's still reason to potentially do it, but there are some genuine downsides where, like, if things do go wrong, it's, it's, it's not like this is. And none of them are super close to him either. Like, none of them feel like they've got him locked in. He's. He's a bit of like an outsider at this point, even within that group. And so, you know, it's. You can't get too cute about, like, picking a champion and then letting them just go off because, you know they can be used against you in the same way. So Kamu talks to Haley and Devins. This is really. I've already kind of talked about how Devins is pitching this Drew situation, and. And at this point, too, Devin's like, almost. I almost want Jason to win the blockbuster. So Drew has to show his cards with this Mallory situation. And that sentiment is an interesting one, and it's one that that, like, Devin's and D. Are. Are really sort of interested in as they continue to sort of frame Drew as this. You know, this is just such a great way to separate Kamu from Drew. Their interests aren't aligned in this vote, and so honing in on that and not making any other claims is a very good way of keeping them separated for now.
B
And I guess my favorite part of this conversation was Haley jumping in. They were in the middle of talking about Drew and. And how this could all, you know, have things to do with Drew, with how. Excuse me. However, this vote goes down, and Haley, like, can't help herself. She hears Jason's name, and she's like, yeah, why is Jason just, like, always like this with me? He's still banging the teapot around my head. And every time that we, like, have a chance to possibly make up and go back to, like, not hating each other or whatever, like, he just ruins it, and he just can't. And it's like, he is so in her head. This conversation wasn't actually about Jason in that way, but she brought it back to him, and it was just like, nobody asked Haley about Jason here in the way that she decided she needed to get this off her chest. But it's okay. He is really, really in her head. We see that every. I mean, that was the whole. The teapot thing. She was, like, the one that was fuming more than anybody else. So, look, obviously our best case scenario at this point is Jason's days going into the next week, but just any more Haley and Jason interactions we can get is what I'm signing up for.
A
Yeah. So we. We move on. D is going to have a day of mostly just kind of, like, I would say, pretending. I think she was still considering it, but she obviously wants Mallory gone. But she has a conversation with Mallory. She's like, hey, I want to just, like, have a direct conversation with you. I don't want to, like, just let Barrett run back and forth. Like, I keep hearing that you are coming for me. Mallory says, that's not true. It was true in the past. It's not true anymore, and it hasn't been true in a While Kamu said I was targeting, like, half the house. Can't all be true. And I'm doing all of that. And. And the conversation goes pretty well, mostly because D is, like, pretending to be totally on board to keep Mallory. And, like, I'm bringing up a few of these things that are, like, relatively like, the let's keep Jason in the dark about whether we're gonna save him anymore and this deep pretending to keep Mallory thing, because they kind of matter for where we end the day, though they likely won't by tomorrow. But we see Drew is going to talk to Melody and Mallory for a bit as well, and they just kind of reconfirmed that the Jason plan is off, but the Mallory plan, obviously, is still on. They do talk about something kind of interesting, of course, which is the. The jury vote situation. They talk about last season and how if Rachel had made it to the end, would she have won? Drew kind of felt like no, because she had already played before, and they didn't really like her in that house a whole. And. And they talk about, would they vote for an icon this season? The instinct is no, but they do kind of walk it back and say, you know what? I do still want to vote for the best player. The way Mallory describes it is that if there's an icon sitting next to a new player and they've both played really similar games, she'd vote for the new player. But if the icon played the much more obviously good game, she'd vote for the icon because they all agree they want to be beat by the best player. And so some interesting stuff as we, you know, move through the game. You know, even just a conversation like this, obviously going back to a season, like, 14, very important to take note of, like, the way people are perceiving returning players. And it seems like already that, like, it's. It's fine. This is not going to be a major issue for the jury for these returning players.
B
No, not. Not in the way of, like, a jury vote. Who's going to vote for who. But you cannot convince me even for a second, that this wasn't a very intentional topic for Drew to bring up in the sense of, like, have we all forgotten that the icons are here? Have we all forgotten that these three people, like, we're talking about Kamo, Haley, Chuck, like, maybe we go after them and they're coming after you. Are we all forgetting that there's three icons that are just moving on through the game and Drew is aligned with them? But I could just, like, very easily get the Sense that this was just a hey, where, where are you guys at with the icons? Like he was. I like the way that he framed it of you vote for them in the end. Would we vote for them in the end? But it was just kind of like a hey, do we all remember that these people are there? And I was just like, I felt like I was clocking that during this specific. Why are we bringing this up out of nowhere?
A
Yes. I also thought, and to some degree like because I do think he plans to be at least in the end or toward the end with somebody like Devin's. Yeah. Just kind of trying to get a sense of how people feel.
B
Yeah.
A
About that. So Devins does talk to Camus privately finally later in the day, later in the afternoon I should say. And they talk primarily about the votes again, more about Drew and forcing his hand and all of that. But just let's ignore Drew for now. Do we have the votes? We should as long as we have Taylor. That's what we've kind of discovered. And we should have Taylor because she's in a newly minted three person alliance with us. But that only makes it a tie in the worst case scenario. So can we get some other votes? Somebody like say Yash and Kamu's like, oh, I'd love to pull Yash into like a three person alliance. Let's just start collecting those like they're Pokemon cards and we're roam. So. So they talk about that and, and after this conversation, Dee and Angela have been talking as well about, you know, taking out Mallory and Evans comes in and gives them the download on his conversation with Kamu. They tell Devin's like, you, you just need to keep commode being like, keep propping him up as like, like get your alliance in line. Kamu, you're in charge. Make sure that Haley votes out Mallory over Lala because Haley, they keep using Haley as the argument because that's what, that's what Drew is doing. He's like, oh, well, Haley keeps saying this because Haley is their best weapon. You need to get Kamu to keep Haley in line. And, and Devin's like, yeah, yeah, this is a good idea. Like, and because Angela does something like, like this, she's like, get caught. Like, you're, you're the guy, Kamu, you're the guy. And so the Devins just goes like, yeah, yeah. And then they all just start doing this like, ah. And then D is like, that should be.
B
That's our thing. We go to the, the diary room to vote.
A
Hi Julie.
B
And if you're not watching us on video, you're just shaking your hands, like, ferociously in the air. Yeah, that's. That's our thing. Sure, why not? I don't even know if that would give anything away. Like, people have plenty of alliance, like motions that would give things away. Famously, I think of, like the pretty boys, like, hand motion to the face that somebody, one of them got caught doing it in the mirror and then somebody else saw it, remember? And they were like, what's this mean? Someone was doing this and saw this. So, yeah, you can't, you can't be doing things that are, like, super obvious, but if you're just standing, walking around the house going like this, you're probably not going to get caught.
A
I just like, on Big Brother Canada, at some points in the seasons, they were doing like three or four different signals in the diary room at a time. So it would be like, like, okay,
B
call out Jordan Parhar, please. Yeah, he had a couple of those going at the same time, but yeah, so we'll see how that all goes. But as far the dynamics here, again, that just brings me back to what I was saying earlier of just like, there are so many things that are just ready for that Coke can to explode and whenever it does, it'll be fun and messy again. It just wasn't yesterday. But the idea of, you know, first of all getting Commonwealth riled up and then making sure that they have the votes in this way or that way, and they all sound so undecided, like, genuinely, unless I'm missing something that, like, maybe they are super locked into their decision, but they're just playing around with the scenarios. They do seem to go back and forth of like, is this a good idea? Is that a good idea? Do we want to keep Mallory? Do we not? And it blows my mind a little bit that, like a D or an Angela is really ever considering keeping Mallory at this point. I guess in their minds, they're thinking through the scenarios where that group would then come after Kamal, Haley and Chuck over them if they're not actually going to come after the vets. And Drew and Barrett are promising them that endlessly. But it's just like, that's one number that, you know is not on your side. Like the D and Mallory conversation. D was like, you know, of course D was doing D things of just like, hey, I know we've never talked in our entire lives and I nominated you, but I trust you. I want you here. I think this is going to be great for us. Going forward if we can work together. But you know deep down that that's not your best move compared to the other, you know, the other people that are that versus Lala. Like you have an alliance with Lala. Well, as fake as it might be.
A
Yeah, you can tell, or at least I feel like I can tell that the Angela D instinct seems because you're right. Like D later in the day is going to say like I keep going back and forth. Like she tells Angela, she keeps going back and forth. Like she, this is, she's saying she really is actually going back and forth. And this is what we were seeing in week one with the Ashley vote where it was like, guys, you have the influence and the position to actually push what you want for what you want. But they backed down. And Devin's on the other hand, I do think has been a bit more steadfast here. He has also wavered in the past, but I think he has, has at this point much a much more solid stance on like what he wants. And we see that throughout the day as he continues to push for what he wants with Kamu, with Taylor. In just a moment, before he gets to Taylor, Taylor has a conversation with Melody. And we, you know, we've been wondering exactly where Taylor stands. We've, it's, I, I, there's been an understanding that she's probably leaning toward evicting Lala because of everything she's been talking about. She wants to keep Jason and Mallory. She'd probably be on board with this vote. And we do get confirmation that that's where her head is at again here today when she talks to Melody and she says, because Melody basically goes to Taylor and says, yeah, I think Drew's reluctant about this Jason vote. I'm not sure that, that we can, we can do it. And Taylor's like, you have to do it. What do you mean? Anybody sitting next to Lala has to, to stay. We need to convince Drew to do this. Taylor not willing to back down on the Jason vote, which is interesting because shortly after this Devin's approaches Taylor and he's wanting to make sure she's locked in to keep Lala because they've got a three person thing, him, Taylor and Kamu. And he says you're, you're down to keep Lala, right? And she goes, of course, I'm a Lala girl after all. And he says good, because it might come down to a tie and we'd really need your vote to make sure that this happens. And she's like, yes, of Course, it's not even a problem. I don't know. Like, we're locked in, Evans. Like, we got this, you, me, comma, this whole thing. And he's like, this is. That's so great. I love this. And as soon as he walks away, she goes, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck. Oh, my God, I hate. Oh, my God, I feel sick right now. Oh, my God, what do I do? Oh, no, I ha. Oh, my God. Fuck.
B
Ah.
A
Okay, well, hold on. Shit. All right. I have to. I don't know, I think I might have to vote with them. I don't want to ruin what I have with Devin's in Kamu. I don't know.
B
Can I just say, I. I saw your tweet about this before. I saw the clip itself. I just wasn't watching at this exact moment. And I thought that you were saying that Devin's walked away, like. And I was like, huh? I didn't expect him to have that reaction to what I heard that conversation was. And then I go back and Taylor's the one that's saying that I was like, this makes a lot more sense. So, yeah, she's got to figure this out. I mean, it's. It's interesting for her as a player, not as everyone comes to her until they need her really to be talking about the plan. And that's why, obviously she feels so good about Jason because they're always there for each other. But at this moment in time, it just feels like all the plans are happening around her. And then when someone comes to her, she's like, wait, I'm still the three plans ago.
A
Yeah, so this is real. This is. This is actually very important here because Taylor is a very crucial vote with Taylor. There are. Are theoretically seven votes that are for Mallory to stay. Without Taylor, it. As Devin says, it could be something like a tie. But Taylor isn't the only swing vote here. It's Taylor, it's Drew, it's Yash. There are a lot. It's even somebody like Lyric, like, needs to be able to pull through. Now, Lyric and Yash are relatively locked in for Mallory right now. Now Kamu and Devins and the rest of them plan to try to work on them, but right now they are for Mallory in the same way that Taylor was roughly 30 minutes before this conversation. So that's kind of the problem. Right. But Taylor just, you know, in her mind, created this alliance with Devin's and Kamu. She's, you know, she's made some progress. We've been talking about how she she's played this week really well for the position that she's in and now she's immediately put in a position where she feels like her, her vote is going to expose her, her true position, and it's worrying her. And I don't know that we have a full lock on exactly where she will land. I think that today being Wednesday, the day after the day we're talking about for this update, it's going to be a telling one. I think that this is the day that people are really going to start to lock in exactly where the votes are and there's a lot of miscommunication, intentional miscommunication happening. And so it's going to be really tricky to know exactly where, like, there's a, Let me say, let me put it this way. There's a very, very real world where we approach the eviction tomorrow night and don't know who is going to be evicted between Mallory and Lala because there are multiple people who are either undecided or just like, aren't going to tell almost anybody the truth about what they're actually doing. Now, that might not be the case. We might get some clarification today, but as of last night, there's not a lot of clarification. And Taylor is one of the most mysterious votes for us at the moment because we don't really know exactly where she will end up deciding to fall. I can't imagine she truly ditches the entire game plan just to go with Kamu and Devin's, but it's not like she's doing something completely egregious. She's keeping one of her closest allies, Lala, like, you know, but she can't be rah rah about the vote and blindside the other side because then she's giving up all of those potential relationships for almost nothing on the other side. So it's, There's a lot. There's a lot here.
B
And if I may ask, you know, I haven't seen your notes directly, but as we're talking about this very close vote between Lala and Mallory, we have any game talks today where Lala's pitching her case to stay? Do you have anything in there at all?
A
I don't think I do, no.
B
No. Right. Is it not happening? Is it not on the feeds because Mallory's all over the place, you know, pitching herself. We know the story with Jason. He knows the story with Jason about how this is going to go for him if he doesn't win. I was waiting for one and look they're today. There's still. There was other days, but I'm just like, lala, you there? Anything, Any cases to make?
A
Yeah, yeah. Jason, though, he does talk to Lyric. He is still hanging out, talking to people. He's also hanging out by himself. He's. He's gonna be doing a bit of a workout up. Up in the gym and, uh, gives himself. He. He. He has a whole. His old journey he goes through in this, uh. In this workout. He's like, like doing the cardio. Oh, my God. I want to send him home so bad so he can go home and tell all his little MMA fighters that drag queen sent the fighter home.
B
Come on.
A
Lock in, lock in, lock in.
B
Yes.
A
So he's doing that for a while, and then he finishes his cardio and he just, like, flops down on the couch and he just starts crying. I miss gay people.
B
I want to be funny about this for a second, and then I want to be serious about this for a second because I, too, miss gay people anytime that I'm not around gay people for more than five minutes. But it's been more than five minutes for Jason, and we don't need to, like, rehash this. The whole. We all, I think, should relatively understand where the conversation about, you know, queer casting in general is with this show. It's not enough. And the whole story, especially for Jason this season and many other contestants in the past that are just by themselves in there, obviously, it's not always the case. I saw a tweet from Claire talking about, you know, a couple of seasons recently that have had at least. At least more than one queer contestant. And it's like, okay, you know, that. That's obviously good, but it's not every season. It should be everybody every season. And Jason, just someone who, as we saw his home package, is used to being around predominantly queer people and not straight people. So it's just like a jarring experience to jump into where you can't relate to everybody around you sharing stories about their first, you know, the boys sharing stories about their first kiss with a girl and with the girl, the girls with the first kiss with a boy. And it's like, yeah, like, Jason could be brought into those conversations, but it's not like a natural thing that sometimes, like, they're asking him about, like, oh, what was your first experience or first kiss like, or whatever. And he just wants to be, like, silly gay self that some of us want to do sometimes. And it's just, like, not coming across that well to everybody in There Haley's giving him a dirty look every five seconds and granted he's banging a teapot around her head, but it was before that that she was already side eyeing him. And the combo of it all is obviously something happening in the South. So very sympathetic towards Jason in this moment that he was having a real, just moment of, of, of missing comfort and home and gay people. And I get it. But it did kind of go from as quickly as you just explained from like the pumped up workout of like, I'm gonna get combo, the track queen's gonna get the, the fighter out of here to the emotional time on the couch. He also had his shoes on the couch and I didn't like that, but can't do much about that. And I don't live there, so I'll let them take the, take care of that.
A
Yes, this, I mean this has obviously been an incredibly long running thing that, that has been talked about since, since the, since the very inception of the show. And it's something that has been completely ignored. There's still like, on the few occasions that there have been more than one gay person on the show, it's usually because they're exes or something like, or, or, you know, or, or something along those lines. Like, and which is, which is, you know, and there's, there's probably, there's like, there's, there's better podcasts to go into more depth about this. But like gay people and gay representation on, on reality television is a huge, is huge part of the DNA of this genre. There's a reason they do still cast one at least in every season. And, and they, they love uh, to cast this, this person who is going to be drama and like, like fit into the box that they want them to, but they don't want seemingly like a large amount of people who can relate to each other and just kind of like be human beings. They want sort of like they want the box they want because that box
B
could be bigger and could make, make more good tv. Have you seen a bunch of gay people on a reality show? It's called RuPaul's Drag Race, if nothing else. And take your issues with the format of, I don't know, some recent seasons and how the competition can go. Plenty of people do, but you're going to get drama. They have an entire show that's a spin off of Drag Race. It's called untucked. That is 30 minutes of just supposed to get all of the contestants in a room together and just have them hash out the Drama of the week. So, like, they finally got to a point of like, huh, we could cast someone from Drag Race or just a drag queen in general on this show. That sounds like a good idea. But we're going to give them nobody like them in the house and nobody to relate to and not even a single other queer person to. To be in there with. And so, yeah, the. The fight marches on.
A
And it's. And it's very relevant, I think, to Jason's experience is what we've been talking about when it came to the Tea Party, when it came. When it comes even to, like, the. The Angela thing and, and the current situation that Jason finds himself in when I say he still is kind of an outsider even amongst that side, like, this is part of it. And, And I do think, like, you know, if you watch an episode of Drag Race and you see the way that, like, I. I watched the first episode of Jason's first season of Drag Race to try to prep for the season, and, and it's, you know, it's an entirely different person. And part of that, I think, is that he's in drag. He's Selena.
B
Selena.
A
But. But, like, it's an entirely different way of interacting with people in entirely different, like, language and, And. And social norms amongst these. These people. And, and so, like, that is what Jason is comfortable with, and that is what he likes to be able to do. And so, you know, when there are all these other people watching him on this show where he's isolated in this environment and he's not adhering to the social norms of this group of people who are all getting to do their own version of their own social norms for the most part. It's very easy to be like, well, he's doing all these things wrong. Like, this. He's not doing that right. That's not what you're supposed to do. Right. And like, like, that's not his. That's not his experience, that's not his identity.
B
And I'll just say, I guess I can speak from only personal experience here of just like, you know, and again, not a universal experience, but there are plenty of gay men that maybe don't have the easiest time connecting with straight men. And again, certainly not all the time and whatever, but very often you find it very easy to connect with women. And so Jason has a lot of women in the house that he's developed close relationships with, but a lot of those relationships have been slipping. And even Lyric, it's like, he doesn't seem like 100% with her in the way that he was when Rome was there. Not that he doesn't trust her anymore or anything like that, but it's just like they're not as connected. And he wanted to have something with D or he wanted to at least pretend like there was something there or at least maybe hope that that connection could grow. And it just. Every time that they talk, it's like, okay, very surface level. We like each other, but then they don't talk for the rest of the day, and that's it. So I feel like he would love to have connected with so many more of. Especially the women in this house, but it's kind of not sticking. And look, he gets along with plenty of them just fine, but at the end of the day, he's still struggling to find, like, his person in that house. And if it hasn't happened by now, it makes me wonder if it's ever going to happen. There were some nice conversations with him and Barrett throughout the day today or. And in the past days where they just see each other, they get along. They had some funny conversations. You know, they have things in common. So, you know, it's nice to see that. But. But these moments of him breaking down are unfortunately not surprising. And the only solace I have if he gets evicted this week, that he will go back to normal life and not have to be in the situation anymore that he's obviously been struggling in.
A
So Barrett is going to work on Dee some more as well with this Mallory issue. Again, the Mallory lala of it all still the primary intrigue for the day and really the week. She continues to pretend like she's down to keep Mallory or at the very least, least seemingly might be actually okay to keep Mallory in this moment. And then changes her mind again. She just says that she's, like, reluctant to show her cards to Red Corps. Like, in one. In one sense, she doesn't want to, like, piss Barrett off by voting Mallory out. On the other hand, she doesn't want to piss the red corner off for voting to keep Mallory. And so they end up getting together. Like the crossovers after Angela leaves and. And. And Drew and Barrett pitch keeping Mallory to Devins and D. And they're. They're. They're working pretty hard here, as they should, to the point where Devins and D start to back down. Like, maybe.
B
If.
A
Maybe if red corner could get on board and. And they're like, why do we even need them to be on board? Like, this is good. We're pitting them against each other. The Mallorys and the commus and. But the thing that Devins and D keep kind of pushing. Can we just get, like, Drew, can you get Kamu on board with this plan? You, like, talk him down? We don't want to blow anything up. It would be bad to blindside them. And I. I like this from them because again, they're putting the pressure on Drew and they're putting the pressure on Kamu, which is just putting pressure on their relationship. And. But ultimately, they agree to. To keep Mallory. They just, again, just work on Kamu for us. But it was maybe a little too easy. Drew and Barrett afterward are like, what's that? I feel too. This is not good for them in any way. Why are they so willing to do this? It's like, yeah, trust. Trust this instinct.
B
This is right.
A
It's one of those things. Like, they're both super fans and they know. They know things, but they don't necessarily feel things. Things. And it's like, you know, intellectually, that. That. That was. That there was a bad vibe there, but you feel like you don't let that affect the way you feel because you don't want to, like, overthink or something. But it's like, no, that was a good. That was a good instinct.
B
And this crazy game of Big Brother, it's just, like, so bizarre to think of, like, what could come next. So next week, Haley wins. Hoh. Okay. It's more of the same. We just have to keep pretending like we're in on this alliance. And Drew and Barrett can't actually do anything with their thoughts of what. What was weird in this conversation. Conversation. And have things been getting weird lately? But if somebody from the girls or. Or one of them wins power, like, maybe we actually act on the weirdness of all of that. Hard to say for sure until we actually see it. But some of my favorite moments now, I'm just talking broadly, like in Big Brother are after the ceremonies are done and after the competitions are done, because the, like, the adrenaline pumping through everybody just has, like, the game kick into the next level, and whatever's been kind of sitting on their minds, on the. Their souls, like, then gets activated and they start to talk more. And maybe this conversation between Drew and Barrett would turn into, like, okay, this is not, like, we can't believe in this anymore. Like, they're like, that was too easy. And, yes, we have to see through that because they're just trying to get us to agree and have things go easy, but we know that they're not actually on our Side. So just really can't emphasize enough how important this next HOH is for our entertainment to go in a different way than it's gone the past couple of weeks. And just see where Drew and Barrett fall in all of this. See what happens when these people in power are not in power because it's just. It'll make such a fun season if we can get that switch up. So can we advocate for producer manipulation of, like, just, you know, fudge the. The booth and make all of the. The tool sheds things not work? Can we. Can we push for that?
A
You can try. You can try. You know, it reminds me, like, this is a very nerdy reference, but it reminds me a little bit of Bioshock. There's this whole thing in Bioshock where, like, the. The. The guy has, like, the. I don't want to. I guess I'm spoiling a very old game now, but, like, the guy in charge is like, kind of a con artist, and he talks about how I. I've all. I thought about this ever since I was a kid and I played that game. Game that he was. There's a line in that game that where he's like, it's easier to fool, like, people who consider themselves to be smarter because they don't question things as much once you've, like, locked them in. And I think that this is true of. Of players like Barrett and Drew with this alliance where, like, you know, because they consider themselves to be more in the know, they've known more than the rest of the house since. Since day one. They've been in on the secret majority powerful alliance. And because they know so much more in their own minds, they don't think about what they don't know. And when they talk to people like Matt, like Melody, who recognizes that there are things she doesn't know and is. Has a better sense of like, oh, this is wrong. We should do something about it. They go, but we know better, right? She actually, despite knowing less, less, knows more and is less easily fooled. And so
B
she's operating on instincts and they're operating on conversations. And the conversations that they've been having are putting all of these fake thoughts into their brains that, you know, all these fake senses of comfort to say, hey, Drew, Barrett, like, we're. We're still good. We're gonna go with your guys's plan. Melody's not having these conversations on a regular basis, and her instincts are proving to be better reads. And that's just. It makes plenty of sense, but it's just Bizarre to watch.
A
Yes. All right. So speaking of Melody and Mallory and Lyric, they are finally going to make
B
official their trio until Melody turns on them next week. But sure. How has this not happened yet?
A
They. They listen it literally, too. It's so funny because in that, like, RA conversation with D and Angela, they talked about D was like, we have. We haven't named this. Should we name this? And they eventually, I guess we're just the icons. We're the icons. It's fine. So there were two trios that thought about naming themselves in this day, but they just. They. They want to come up with a name, and so they came up with the Giggle Girls.
B
Surely we've had that before. No, because, I mean, every time I think of these three, I think of the BB18 three. But that was the. Were they the Powerpuff Girl? I'm making that up. Bronte and Bridget and Natalie, I think.
A
I think Powerpuff was maybe an audience name for them. I don't think they would have been allowed to go call themselves Powerpuff Girls.
B
Well, you know, I wouldn't have thought. And this is a very niche reference for Disney adults, but I wouldn't have thought that the Dapper Dance could be called the Dapper Dance because that's a Disney World thing. That's a group of barbershop quartet that performs on Main street in Walt Disney World. So I don't know how they're allowed to use that unless it doesn't make its way onto the show. But I don't know. I guess lots of questions about these things.
A
It hasn't made its way onto the show yet, to be fair, but I'd
B
be surprised to, like, let them if.
A
I mean, Mickey Mouse is public domain at this point. Maybe that's old enough as well that it would be, I guess.
B
But could they call themselves the Mickey Mouse Alliance?
A
Like, technically? I think you probably could. I don't know, maybe. Listen, Anybody listening? Well, try it.
B
Try the Mickey Mouse alliance and I'll stand regardless. But I don't know. Okay, so the Giggle Girls are formed here. And just as far as the dynamics of this group are concerned, I was joking about Melody turning, but it just feels like, you know, as much as I feel confident that these three would not turn on each other, at least anytime soon, obviously Power has not been on their side to really indicate, you know, how this can work as a group that makes a group decision together and a power move in the game together. But just like, they're not always all together. Like, I feel confident In Angela, D and Devins being locked in for now because they have built in reason to be. They are the icons. But, like, going back every single week so far, there's been dissension amongst these three of, like, maybe we don't need Mallory. Maybe if Mallory went, that's fine. Is Lyric actually with. With us. She spends all of her time with Rome and now, you know, Mallory may go this week, so it's hard to say for sure. But again, the second that power goes over there, I think that this could really, really solidify, even if it did last night. Giggle girls.
A
Yes. And I apologize. Small correction. It's not Mickey Mouse that's public domain. It's Steamboat Willie, which was the original version, the original iteration of Mickey Mouse that has gone public domain.
B
I'm the Disney adult here, and I don't know, you know, exactly who is and who isn't. I know Pooh Bear is. Now you're using him as, like, a killer in movies these days, so there's that.
A
All right, so Melody, Drew, Barrett and Mallory get together and they talk about the vote some more. Again, feeling like they've. They do have D and Angela potentially, and Devin's again, all potentially on board with this. Drew and Barrett are continuing to push forward. Now, the downside to Angela or sorry to Dee and Devin's sort of like, like agreeing to this and. And having, you know, Drew and Kamu kind of push each other on this vote is that it is locking Drew and Barrett more and more into the vote, which is fine for them as long as they do actually have Taylor and they can get at least a tie vote, but given how much they don't have Taylor for sure, this is actually kind of dangerous. And this is what people have been talking about, which is that like, like there's maybe a scenario now where Drew and Barrett think they have the green light to keep Mallory because Devins and D think that it's okay to let them go and do their own thing and push for this vote because they've got Taylor, but in reality, they don't have Taylor and it ends up like splitting like 75 or something where the vets fall on the wrong side. Now, I don't think that's super likely, personally. I think that, that by the time the vote comes in, they will all check in with each other and make sure they're all in the loop. But. But I do think that, like, if Devin's indeed give Drew and Barrett too much leash to the point where like, on Wednesday night or Thursday morning, Or whatever it is. Drew and Barrett come to D and Devins and they say, yeah, all the votes are here. Taylor locked in, Yash locked in, Devins and D might start to panic and go, oh, and try to talk to Yash, try to talk to Taylor, see if. And if they say, yeah, we're kind of feeling like the votes are all here, they might, they might just back down and all of a sudden Mallory is going to potentially stay. So like there again, there are all kinds of like potential situations going on here. But the point here is that Melody, Drew, Barrett and Mallory, they're talking about this vote, they're talking about how they are locked in to keep Mallory, but they have an issue and this is a very bad issue for them to have, which is that. And this is such, this is the miscommunication I'm talking about. So when Melody, or, sorry, yeah, when Melody approached Taylor to say Drew doesn't want to do the, the Jason vote, we're calling off the Jason vote. Taylor said, no, we need to keep Jason. We need to also keep Mallory, vote out Lala. In any circumstance. In many ways that made law made Taylor look like the most fervent supporter of voting out Lala to the point where she looked very pro Jason, which actually kind of freaked Melody and Mallory and the rest of them out. Because if, if Taylor, who still wants to do the Jason vote, is mad at them for not doing the Jason vote and she's a Jason supporter, what if she tells Jason that they're no longer voting for Jason to try to get him to get their votes back or something and then Jason finds out that they're not voting to keep him him and then Jason is no longer a Mallory vote to keep Mallory in, in the, in the event that we need to, we need his vote to keep Mallory or just in general finds out that we're not voting to keep him. Therefore, if, if Taylor's just a locked in vote for Lala to go anyway, we don't even need to talk to her much. We don't need to tell her that the plan is off. We need to just keep pretending to her like the plan is on and so we're not going to tell her that the Jason plan is off. Now this all, despite the convoluted sound of it, makes some amount of sense. The problem is that despite what they think, Taylor is not seemingly as locked in on this vote as they think and they actually do need to be working on her, not just lying to her about especially the Mallory vote. And so this is where things start to get really complicated and tricky when it comes to, like, they better be still working on her here. They better be making sure she's locked in and not just avoiding her because they don't want to lie about the Jason thing.
B
And just everything you just said is like, wow. You think of like the question, why is it so hard to get a vet out of the game early to break into a. A big power structure especially, you know, you don't have any power. Just like all of these people that should be on the same page, that should be able to just get together and make a. Make a plan, make a vote, share information openly. But because not a single one of them has touched any significant power in the season so far, it's terrifying to all of them to get into these types of positions where information could leak. And now we're all on the bottom. We need to be able to have Taylor to throw under the bus. We need to be able to have this person, that person to throw under the bus. And if we all share all that information and give Taylor too much much, she could use it against us. And now we're all just sitting on our hands.
A
Yeah. I mean, it's this classic big brother with a majority where when you have the majority or close to it, again, it doesn't have to be an actual numerical majority. In this case, it's literally six people. It's red corner plus Angela. And all they need to do because they've had held power the whole time is just sprinkle out some promises. Some promises to Drew and Barrett. It, oh, crossovers. Some promises to Taylor. Oh, the tethers, proposed promises to Yash. Ooh, three person bro alliance. And so all the people who actually have the numbers, they just don't have power yet are enticed by offers from the people who are in power. And individually, Drew and Barrett think, well, I don't want to ruin our relationship with crossover. And Taylor thinks, I don't want to ruin my relationship with Devins. And yeah, and Kamu and Yash might eventually think, I don't want to ruin my relationship with Devin's and Kamu. And in reality, if they all just came together, they could crush this other side. Except for the diamond power vita and. But. But they individually all think they've got this little incentive to not do it. And this is exactly, by the way, what happened on season 22 where there were a lot of people, you know, for as much we talk about the committee winning every single competition were a lot of Weeks where there were a lot of people who were throwing those competitions because they thought they were in a good place because they had those promises from the people in power. Take promises from people in power with the heaviest grains of salt and. And sharpen your guillotines. That is the, the true advice for
B
you had to give me a flashback to the worst HOH outcome I think in my life I've ever experienced of Christmas beating Davon in the end of. I don't know, whatever it was the, the buzzer competition that one, one, one question goes the other way. And I mean it doesn't change the entire season but it changes one week of a not fun season.
A
Yes.
B
Well, sorry to make you all. Yeah.
A
What we do here is D and Angela do reconfirm. This is when D talks about how she, she keeps going back and forth but she agrees Mallory should go despite what she said to Drew and Barrett. And so that is where there they continue to fall here. Camus does have that conversation with Drew that I mentioned earlier but it's very short lived. They get interrupted by Lyric. Basically Drew Kamu is just pressing Drew for an answer about the vote. Kamu pressing Drew basically on the orders of Devins. Drew then kind of counter pressures Kamu on the order of Devins to be like, yeah, you know, again I'm just, just. It's devil's advocate but also it's just devil's advocate. And the com is like, yeah, but what do you think? Really? And Drew's like, I mean they're, they're, they're like begging me, you know, like they're just begging me to keep Mallory. Like it's, I'm in a tough spot and then they get interrupted. So like very little resolution there. So theoretically there's a lot to do here today on Wednesday and it's all going to do have to do with this vote which ties into the greater picture of what does this structure look like. Where did Drew and Barrett go? Where does Taylor go? Where does Yash go? Is there a revolution coming? Does it. Does any of it matter? Or is Jason just going to lose the blockbuster and go home? That's kind of where we're at.
B
And just to you know, make it a little humorous, I honestly, I forget you might remember who was specifically talking about how funny it would be if Kamu's HOH resulted in Lala going home because that is still very much a possibility on the table. And just like knowing Camus, what he wants to accomplish in this game, he wants to go in the challenge, like who he wants to be in this house and present himself as on TV and you have an hoh, you have power and you take out Lala, that's still a possibility. So.
A
Still very much a possibility.
B
We'll see. But yeah, the Drew situation, look, he's found himself in what, besides like the suss on him, a pretty enviable position that a lot of people would want to have of just being so well connected and having so many options. But there are crunch times like this that you need to kind of just firmly make your decision, pick a side rather than just playing the middle. So much along the lines of like, you have to tell people what you're thinking because if everybody's asking, if Kama is asking and says, what do you want to do? And he's wishy washy with his answer, that just makes the trust not feel super confident there. And at a certain point it's like, all right, well, you're going to have to make a decision here. If you're voting to keep Mallory, say that and, and really pitch to De and Angela, I know she's not going to come after you. I have Mallory and I will make sure she doesn't come after you. But being so on the, on the fence about it and not giving 100% of an answer, I think could get him into trouble. So definitely think a lot of that could go down today, even into tomorrow. I would not be surprised if Sunday's episode is like, here's what you didn't see the hour before the vote. A big scramble. And I would love that. Those are some of the most fun times. But that's what we're leading to with, with a very boring All Things Considered Tuesday.
A
Yeah. And another thing I think, like, just to, to focus on when you're a player is like the, the notion of like ask forgiveness, not permission. I don't think that's strictly true, but I think that it's instead, it's like, it's not strictly true in the sense like, don't do it and then ask for forgiveness. It's ask for forgiveness before you do it and as you're doing it. And then afterward when you've cut off options from magnanimously let people back, you know what I mean? Like, force people's hands. Don't be like, I don't want to make them mad. And then be like, because I don't want to make them mad. I'm gonna, I'm gonna let them have all this power because then they have the power. And now you are at the whims of them, reciprocating your favor to give them the power. Instead, take the power for yourself, make them mad in the process, and use that power to smooth it over. You want to be the one in power, ideally. Now, of course, it's not applicable everywhere, but it should be your instinct in the game. If you have the ability to take power, you should be taking it, in my opinion. So that's about what we have for the day. There's, like a lot of flirting with Drew and Matt and Melody. Like, a lot of it be crumbs.
B
Crumbs. There was some hugging.
A
Get some crumbs.
B
There was a little hugging, a little bit of that. I. I have a couple of quick things for you. Taylor was banging the teapot and the spoon. She said that it was fun and therapeutic. So Jason did put it down for the day.
A
We are the one that he was yelling the other week. So she really likes this, right?
B
It's letting it out. And so I feel like that could be a consistent theme throughout the season. Melody wants to talk more about triple Shrek, especially with Kamu, because her conversations with Kamu were getting really tiresome. He only has the same couple of topics and weird questions that he'll ask that have been covered, you know, here from time to time, but they just stay weird. But yeah, she says, why can't we just talk about Shrek? So hopefully that comes our way. What do you think, Taran, about Devin's and his. He's appalled by Chuck not drinking cold drinks. He only goes for warm drinks. Does that bother you as well?
A
I actually know people that don't like cold drinks. I'm personally a big, cold, cold drink person. I like it very cold.
B
How much of the glass do you want ice in? If there's ice?
A
I mean, here's the thing. I. Number one, I don't like to drink out of glasses. Generally I prefer, like, bottles, like at
B
a restaurant, if they. They just give you a glass.
A
I don't. I don't like it. When I get a glass at a restaurant, it just feels like, you know,
B
I don't know, other people have put their mouth on that, even though, you know, it's been dishwashed and it's like.
A
It's like. It's like a. And I just. I don't like drinking out a glass. It's not the best way to drink, in my opinion. I like straws. Those are good.
B
Well, you put a straw in a glass, right?
A
No, that's fine. Glass With a straw, I'm fine.
B
Gotcha.
A
If I have to like do this, this at a restaurant with a glass, I'm like, what are we doing? What are we doing?
B
I like, I like 25% ice. I would say in a glass. Like I don't need way too much
A
if, if I'm drinking water, I don't care how much ice there is, as long as there's still enough water in the, in the, in the vessel. If I'm drinking almost any other drink, I don't really want ice. I just want it to be cold. I just want it to be like refrigerated because otherwise it waters it down.
B
Yeah, I'm fine with room temperature drinks. Like once in a while, like I'll be at my grandparents house and they just have like a tons of bottles of water just like in the closet. And I'm like, that's fine. Like I'll take one of those. You leave your cold drinks for you guys in the fridge. Like, I'm not offended by warm. Oh, I thought you were pulling something up. I'm not offended by like a whole ice chart or something. I'm not offended by warm drinks. But yeah, I mean, a little bit of cold is always the nice. I will say I get strategic with it sometimes. Like if you're at a restaurant and you know you have to pay for a refill or if you're at say a movie theater and you don't want to go back out to refill your drink at some point in the movie. Like I will skip the ice so that I have maximum drink because I'm not someone who like really needs to go back in and like start drinking ice after all is said and done. So it does depend. But it sounds like Chuck is firmly never into cold drinks. And to bring it all back, that's what Devin's is upset about. So there was that. Okay. And final thing here is speaking of the Devins family. Over on Twitter, Becca Devins has discovered the concept of a wall yeller. She just heard about these and she's very fascinated. She was like, what's a wall yeller? And a lot of people were responding with letting her know what that is. So I don't know if she's about to start commissioning a wall yeller because she did want to send a message to her husband. Something along the lines of like, you're America's dilf. So if we happen to hear that over the next couple of days, just know who the messenger was.
A
I feel like she should be leaving that topic alone, Wally are can only hurt Devin's right now.
B
Well, just make sure the people know that America's dil is is covered. So there's that. Meanwhile, Devins is in the house giving himself a hundred other nicknames besides America's dil of Trick Devins and and Dick Devins and Sick Devil Evans and I don't know, he's just exploring the Alphabet.
A
There you go.
B
That's what I have for you.
A
All right, well that is what we have for you then. Today, like I said, it was. It was a bit of a slower day, but there are plenty of things to be talking about as things head for this vote. Obviously, Jason winning the blockbuster is by far the most interesting thing that could happen. This vote is pretty interesting. Has been been all week. So stay tuned for all of that. I will of course be back tomorrow morning at 11am Eastern to update and everything that happens today on the big brother 28 live feeds. I'll also be live tonight on my patreon watching tonight's episode and I will not be on tonight's recap but there will be a recap afterward here on our up as a podcast. So stay tuned for that as well. Tomorrow night, the eviction. The Are we already at the the third eviction? The third eviction. I almost said the fourth eviction because there were three people down in the invictees thing. Technically fourth eviction because Rachel got burned up. I don't know if that counts as an eviction or a murder, but either way that is about what we have though. Matt, what do you got for us
B
here on the Robinson podcast feed? Sasha and I are covering Dancing with the Stars the next pro episode three of that we just covered and all that is there. It's a big week in Dancing with the Stars. Just Dancing with the Stars con is happening out in Cali right now or this week. So maybe some more news with Dancing with the Stars two night premiere coming this fall which hasn't happened in a long time. So check out our coverage of that. We know dancingwiththestars.com the Diary Room is back. Myself and aman every single week we're talking big brother trying to find the best player of all time. We spin a wheel, we pick out the better player between two and right now we're having qualifier matchups. So we just had Ashley's the first boot of this season and we're about to record tonight another episode to have Rome's qualifier to see if he makes it in into round two. So we'll see how that goes. I won't spoil results, but we had a really tough matchup on the last episode. It was Kalia from Big Brother 13 versus Johnny Mac. And I'll just say regardless of how I voted, to not spoil it all the way, but I have regrets on how I voted. So.
A
Yeah.
B
So I have, I have a lot to think about when it comes to my own decision making over there. So check out the diary room. And lastly, the Free Agents podcast, the Millennial TV feed with myself and Mary and AJ talking about some shows from our childhood and our reality TV feed talking about the challenge, which is about to come back. Is that a, a possible Taran Patreon show? Are we going to watch the challenge again?
A
I was thinking about it because Keanu's on the season, right? And a few other brother players.
B
Riley, Cedric, Keanu, who is put up a post. He's Riley.
A
Riley. Sorry. Yeah, yeah. Big Brother 25, Riley.
B
Yes. Chappelle and Rob had this exact question last night on the Slop. So definitely confusing. But no, Riley Smedley will be there with Keanu, with Cedric, and, you know, plenty of others. So the challenge is back next. A week from today. It'll be on Paramount plus, so check us out on the Free Agents podcast. And maybe Taran will watch schedule for that show.
A
How many episodes a week?
B
It should be one episode a week on Wednesdays. Sounds like they're getting dropped at 3am, which Jason knows very well because. Because that's the drag race schedule drop. It's not the most convenient time because you get online at the end of the day and there's. Or at the beginning of the day, you wake up and everyone's already talked about everything that's happened. So you have to be careful. But that's, that's coming soon.
A
All right. Well, it might depend on how ridiculous the feeds are in the coming weeks, but certainly a show I'd be somewhat interested in checking out on the Patreon. But we will see. That's what we have for you today. Thank you all so much for joining us. We will see all of you next time.
Hosts: Taran Armstrong with guest Matt
Date: July 29, 2026
Coverage: Big Brother 28 – Day 22 Live Feeds
This episode features Taran Armstrong and Matt breaking down a relatively slow, yet strategically dense Day 22 inside the Big Brother 28 house. While not much “action” unfolded, shifting alliances, vote-deciding conversations, and evolving social dynamics created a simmering tension—a "shaken Coke can" scenario, ready to explode. Key storylines include the fallout of Angela’s strategic slip-up, the intricacies of the Mallory vs. Lala impending eviction vote, the contestants’ navigation of shifting alliances, Jason’s struggle for belonging, and how returning players (“icons”) are viewed both strategically and emotionally.
Angela’s Red Corner Slip:
“Angela had made a wild play for Kamu to flip on Drew by telling him that Drew was coming after the red corner... and the big thing has been, will Kamu talk to Drew about this?”
— Taran, 02:20
Kamu and Drew Skirting the Issue:
“A little bit of skipping and holding hands between these two while they're walking around the backyard...constantly wondering what Kamu is going to do next with this image he's trying to uphold.”
— Matt, 06:31
On Secret Alliances:
“The idea of a secret alliance is so fun — everyone wants to be Danielle and Jason — but pulling it off is hard... the people you hang out with are usually the people that you're actually working with.”
— Taran, 11:28
Jason’s Emotional Moment:
(crying on the couch after working out) “I miss gay people.”
— Jason, 37:32
“Anytime that I’m not around gay people for more than five minutes...I, too, miss gay people...very sympathetic towards Jason in this moment.”
— Matt, 37:32
On the State of the House:
“This house is like a shaken can of Coke, waiting for someone to open it up...the second whoever opens it up is going to get sprayed all over the face.”
— Matt, 01:35
Representation in Reality TV:
“Gay people and gay representation on reality television is a huge part of the DNA of this genre...but they don’t want seemingly a large amount of people who can relate to each other and just kind of like be human beings.”
— Taran, 39:30
On Overconfidence and Instincts:
“They know things, but they don't necessarily feel things...that was a good instinct.”
— Taran, 46:58
Vote Paranoia:
“There’s a very, very real world where we approach the eviction tomorrow night and don’t know who is going to be evicted between Mallory and Lala...”
— Taran, 32:04
Hiding in the Middle:
“Drew has found himself in...a pretty enviable position that a lot of people would want to have, being so well connected and having so many options. But there are crunch times like this that you need to kind of just firmly make your decision, pick a side...”
— Matt, 63:17
Mallory vs. Lala Vote:
House Paranoia:
While the day inside the BB28 house was quieter on the surface, the episode reveals a house fraught with underlying tension, shifting loyalty, and self-defeating hesitation. As alliances jockey for power and floaters weigh their options, strategic decisions hang on the thinnest of margins. Emotional moments underscore the personal impact of casting choices, while meta-discussions about alliance-building and representation connect this season to the broader legacy of Big Brother. With the next eviction teetering on a handful of opaque votes and the promise of a house “explosion” ever-present, the feeds are primed for major drama in the coming days.
