What's going on? Rob Cestrino, your sesty bestie. I'm here. We are ready to talk about the Mallory's tea party, maybe a historic night in big brother history, and I'm so excited to get into it all. We've got a great guest here with us tonight. We're so excited to have with us From Big Brother 23, one of my personal faves. Hannah, Chada is here. Chana, how are you?
A
I'm doing so well. Thank you so much for having me, Rob and Maggie. I can't wait to get into all things Big Brother 28.
B
Yes. And also so excited to have here with us another one of my faves. It's Maggie Morgan. Maggie, how are you?
A
I'm great.
C
I have my tea ready for our tea party.
B
Yes.
A
Y. I.
C
It's like 90 degrees here in New York, but I am drinking hot tea for the bit, you guys. That's. That's how dedicated I am.
B
Okay, okay. For the bit. We appreciate it so much. Thank you for being here for this tea party. As we get ready for tomorrow night, some intrigue about the vote. Looking forward to talking about it all here with you and Chada. How have you been?
A
You know, Rob, I have been well, still in school. I feel like that has been my update for the last five or six years, however long I've been doing this for. But I'm almost done, so that's really exciting.
B
Yes, of course. Chana does a great job podcasting about her brother herself over on the Heavy Crown network with all of my friends over there with Tiffany and Big D and even Claire now. And so I know you're locked in. In on this season, and I'm looking forward to getting all your takes about all this. Maggie, what do you think? Did. Did the tea party live up to the hype?
C
No, in my opinion, Like, I. Well, all. All of the hype in general about it. Like, Kamu hyping himself up was, like, so lame and embarrassing. But, like, he. I think actually tonight, like, when we go back and think of this season, this will be, like, lower on the list of exciting moments. I. I believe there's the best is yet to come because I kind of feel like this is now the culture of the house, where you get everybody together and you do a big planned thing and a big call out. And I kind of foresee more of these moments down the road because it's started with Devin's, now it happened with Kamu. Like, I think this might be a house meeting type of house. You know what I mean? And I thought that Jason really handled himself super well, to be, like, quite honest. So it wasn't as explosive. You didn't get the, like, excitement of the explosive, you know, like, shock and awe. That all that's just maybe my opinion.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah.
B
John, I'd love to get your reactions to the tea party and how it got presented.
A
Yeah. So similarly to Maggie, I had higher hopes for it. What I'm not a big fan of is houseguests trying to manufacture moments so that they either get asked back so they get more screen time so they can get an invite to the challenge or the traders or whatever have you. It just reads as very transparent and phony. And while Kamu was delivering his lines, and yes, I say his lines because I feel like I could tell he was struggling to memorize and recite his monologue as it was happening. But like Maggie said, I thought Jason handled himself with a lot of tact, grace, strength. He didn't stutter over his words. He was able to respond to each of Kamlou's point. But the issue is that Jason's game has been blown up so many times, his credibility has been shot. He really has no leg to stand on. And I'm sure we'll get into this, but even though he would probably be a better asset to the other side and coming after the tool shed alliance, no one can trust anything he says. So I. It's kind of over for him.
B
Yeah. We got all of his diary rooms also in this episode. And on. On the one hand, you sort of. You. You like where he's coming from, where he's desperate. You know, he's willing to say anything to anybody. But I do think that he kind of has that reputation of that he's. He's kind. He's bullshitter. Like, he's going to say whatever he needs to say.
C
He is a messy Rob.
B
A messy boy.
A
He's Jeff.
B
He's a messy boy.
A
He kind of gives me, like, Devin from season 16. Not in the same way.
B
I thought you said Devin's.
A
No, no, not Devin's. Yeah, not Devin's. Devin from season 16. Just chaotic, right?
B
Devin's daughter.
A
No.
B
See, But I kind of feel like in my memory, and I've never gone back and rewatched Big Brother 16, but from my memory of that, I feel like that, like, Devin was like Dulu. Whereas I don't get that Jason is Delulu. I get that Jason is just going to. Yes, he'll. He'll tell every single person on the block that, yeah, oh, sure, I'd use the veto on you. He'll tell every single person. Yeah, I'm working with you. And, you know, is. Is just like, it doesn't mean anything. And I feel like that I want Jason to stay, but I'm worried that people feel like, yeah, a promise from Jason isn't worth anything.
A
Exactly.
C
It's like, unfortunately, at this point, it's not until, like, this is what Taryn is always saying about winning power and how important it is, like, in order for anybody to really trust you, you have to have power, and you have to show them that they can trust you. And another way that you can show people that they can trust you is you keep their secrets and you don't go around telling people their secrets. And Jason got called out last week for doing that. So I think it's just. Unfortunately, he's in position where, like, if he wins the BB blockbuster and he's able to be hoh next week, I think that he can be in pretty good shape. He can set himself up well. He can, you know, align himself, show people that he's a good ally, that he's an ally that you want. It's just right now when he's in this position of having no power, like, he can't prove that he would be loyal or that he would be somebody that you could put your faith in. You know, it's just really hard. The hole that he's in right now and there is a way out for him, but it's. It's narrow, you know?
B
Yeah. I'm interested to know. How do you think that? Because this is a season where, especially with the. With the vote, we're very interested in how people are coming off China. How do you feel like that the pots and pan or the teapot came off? Did you feel like that? Because when we look back and we think about evil Dick, Evil dick was a big fan favorite. Who did it? Josh Martinez, also two for two winners doing this.
A
Yeah. So I guess that does prove, you know, you can be a chaotic force in this game. You can be messy, you can be dramatic, and you can still come back from that. However, I do think it's really important to note that evil dick played in 2007, I believe. And even Josh Martinez, like, yeah, he's a relatively recent winner, but so much has changed since 2017. I don't know if Jason can bounce back from this. I think part of big Brother is just being a good roommate, being someone who's pleasant to have around in the house. And it does seem like he's getting on a lot of people's nerves with this teapot thing.
B
Yeah. You know, there's. There's two things there where it's like, his reputation in the house, but his reputation with the audience. But, Maggie, I feel like that. That he is speaking truth to power. Isn't that going to be something that helps him with the audience?
C
I think that he. Like I said, I think Jason came off very fun this episode. Like, I also won. Rob, how dare you forget that Rockstar did bang some pots and pans her daughter's birthday, and she's not a winner. But I think that Jason, like, if the thing is, I'm the furthest thing that you could possibly be from a casual. So I don't really know the way that they feel. Like, we need to get Melissa, his mom, on the phone to figure out how he feels after this episode. But, like, I think that Jason really came off well in this episode. I thought he held himself very well at the tea party, basically being like, it's you three. It's you three, plus Drew and Barrett. You guys were in the room when you guys went against Rome. Like, what else am I supposed to do? And I felt like he was not. Like, he was being very publicly attacked, but he wasn't immediately, like, getting superheated. He was really holding himself together and was just like, well, do you expect me to not play the game? Like, yeah, you're pointing out that I'm playing Big brother. And I also thought that the pots and pans, like, it was done, like, in a. In a lighthearted way, you know, like, he's like. He's like, come on, I have some tea for you. Like, he's not running around. Yeah. And maybe he was annoying Haley a little bit, but he wasn't what we like, exactly. Like, he. He wasn't being openly disrespectful with it. Like, I felt like it was more a fun bit than anything. And Camus also, like, wasn't, you know, super offended by it. Like, Camus was kind of having fun with it, too. Like, I. I felt like from a casual perspective, it's like, oh, he takes it really well when he got punched down on in the episode, and he, like, made a really fun tv, like, lighthearted moment of it. Why would we not like him? You know?
A
I'm so sorry to clarify, I meant the perspective of his housemates, not the perspective of the audience.
C
Oh, sure.
B
Yeah, sure.
A
Like, I wasn't sure if they found
B
it annoying, although Angela Seemed like she really. She's like, now, this is big Brother.
C
Oh, Angela, she loves to say that. This is big freaking Brother.
A
Big Brother.
B
Yeah.
A
This is the Amazing freaking Race. So many times.
B
Maggie, how did it go over with the Husk? We know Haley didn't like it, but for everybody else, did it get on their nerves?
C
I think a lot of them, especially the ones who are not in the red corner, thought it was very funny.
A
Angela.
C
When there was a conversation between Taylor and Angela where. Or Taylor or. Sorry, Angela and Lala where they were talking about it, and Lala Love was like, yeah, he's not going to do it anymore. Like, he put it away. And Angela was like, you know, that's really good, because it was funny for a moment and then it wasn't funny, and then it was funny again. Lala looked at her and said, well, I wasn't there for the parts where it wasn't funny.
A
You know, I think that.
C
I think that a lot of the people who have an issue with Camu and with the red corner thought that it was very funny. But I also think he didn't overstay his welcome with it.
A
Rob.
C
Like, I think he read the room overall and knew, you know, when he. When maybe people were super into it and when they weren't.
A
Yeah, okay.
B
You know, could we talk a little bit more about the setup for the tea party? And I really want to get the sense of, like, what. What did we miss here from the episode tonight? And Maggie could use it, like, set the stage for the tea party a little bit.
C
Well, I think the problem is that the tea party was the length of the episode. Like, all of the. That, like, awkward. That 40 seconds of awkward silence where then Melody says, like, a group of crows is a murder. Like, that was unbearable. Also, when Taylor got up and left, like, everybody sat there for so long that she had to return to the group. And when Devin says, this is, like, top three most awkward moments of my life. Believe him, because it was painful. Oh, my gosh, it was so painful. You want to talk about somebody who can't read a room? It's Kamu. Because, like, he just. It was silent. Everybody just kind of, like, sat there. Jason would say something, Kamu would say something back, and then it would stay silent. And you even saw in the episode, Kamu was like, that went great. I feel like it was great. And people were like, that was horrible. That was a horrible experience.
A
Yes. Which I am so happy that we got that from them in the episode. Because while watching feeds as they were kind of recounting the event to one another. People were hyping up Camus. And of course, this was before the Renam ceremony happened, so you don't want to trash talk the HOH right before he's about to make a replacement nom. But I was like, oh, my gosh, are they really eating out of the palm of his hand still? But I'm glad that Dee and a couple other people were like, this does not reflect the best on Ka Mu. And he's just increased his threat level in this game. So I was glad that we got that from the Drs in this episode.
B
Yeah, you definitely got the sense from D that she wanted to gas him up because she wanted to see this have some blowback onto him. But I'm interested to know. I'm trying to think back from Big Brother 23. Were there ever any moments like this in your season?
A
No, definitely not. But I think my season, even in
B
the Frenchie era, no.
A
We didn't have a single house meeting during our season that I was awake for. Maybe I was sleeping. But our season again was and continues to be an anomaly. Like, we are very Kumbaya. I know a lot of fans have an issue with that, but it certainly made it more pleasant and peaceful to play the game. I think the closest thing to something like this happening was, I guess, the tense moment between Kyland and Xavier, which involved the house because the house was only four people at that point. And then Tiffany and Big D had their moments going back and forth.
C
I was about to say the only moment that I can really remember was when Big D and Aza went upstairs with Brittany. Oh, yes. And that was, like, awkward. But it wasn't. It wasn't really. It was nothing like this. Obviously, there was no, like, game call out. It was just like a game of chicken, basically, you know, between allies, you know.
A
But I do think it's so interesting. Like, now we are kind of. I think every season Houseguests talk about production, of course, but I feel like in recent seasons, we're starting to hear Houseguests break that fourth wall a bit more. Like they're talking about being asked back onto Big Brother. They're talking about the challenge, they're talking about the traitors. Whereas back in my day, we just didn't have as many shows to go on. Like, yeah, like, you went on Big Brother and you were really grateful. And maybe you talked about Amazing Race, but, like, that was pretty much it. The Challenge USA didn't even exist back then.
C
I'm really Aging myself and Chada, you know what? Your cast was so awesome. Like, everybody has gone out. You know what I mean? Like, everybody's gone on to do other things or also, like, be podcasters. Your cast was so great. You started the trend.
A
Maybe. But I feel like in recent seasons, especially on this season, I'm hearing a lot of them be like, oh, I want this moment. They're talking about Big Brother All Stars. They're talking about the traitors. They're talking about these shows. So I am wondering, like, is this really just to take up screen time?
B
Yeah.
A
I don't know.
B
Are you saying that you feel like that this is what Camus motivation was, or it was a number of different things for him or specifically it was for the airtime.
A
I don't think it was entirely for the airtime. I don't think any decision can ever be chalked up to one thing in this game because this game is so complex. But I think it was partially that I think he wanted to have all cameras on him. He wanted to have his moment on tonight's episode. But also I think what's interesting in the game of Big Brother and even in the game of life, I think in order to justify your decisions or like, doing wrong onto someone, you almost have to villainize them. You have to paint them as a target so that you don't look like the bad guy. So I think this was his way of eliciting a reaction out of Jason. That way he can villainize him in front of the entire house and I guess not receive any blowback for then putting Jason up on the block.
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah. That there was his, you know, cognitive dissonance. I needed to have this big moment where I can really nail him for. I told him I wasn't going to put him up on the block, but I have this evidence that I want to show of, like, he told people he would use the veto, and he wasn't supposed to, Maggie. He shouldn't have done that.
C
Yeah. After telling the whole house, as we saw in the episode, he told basically every single person, like, jason is my backdoor target. But how dare he not hold up his end of the deal to use the veto where I want it, please. This is the total example, like you said, Chada, of people looking for a reason to justify them doing something that they feel bad about. But it's also this thing that happens in Big Brother where it's like, I'm allowed to play the game, but you aren't. Like, you're not. It's okay when I do it, but it's not okay when you do it. Like, Karma was planning on backstabbing Jason the whole week. If he really was like, let's work together. Like, he was going to backstab him. So, yeah, for him to publicly be like, how dare you? Like, please. You were going to backstab him from the beginning and everybody here knows it. That's why nobody's saying anything.
A
Maybe he's bringing honor, integrity, honor and integrity to the game of Big Brother.
B
Please, not the Big Brother. We just had that. I think it's on Survivor 50's on right now.
C
Yeah.
A
I mean, hypocrisy at its finest. But that's why I love Big Brother because it really, like you could teach an entire psychology class on Big Brother. It exposes all these tropes.
C
But I mean, I don't like, of course, just kind of piggybacking off of what you said, Chadha, like, the psychology of all of it. Because, look, Combo's nominations make sense if you look at who he's aligned with totally. But I would like to point out that he nominated three women to begin with and then backdoored the only queer person in the house. I am not saying that that was his motivation for why he made these nominations at all. I don't think that he was like, I'm going to put up all women and then I'm going to backdoor the only queer person in the house. But I think that if you look at people's alliances, you can see, as we always say, they gravitate towards the people that they feel comfortable with. Like the Littles all working together. Those three girls who were all sitting the first week, I was watching them on feeds talking about sororities. I was like, yeah, they have things in common, you know, people you talk about. Like, when you work with somebody in Big Brother, it's because you feel like you have things in common with them. Chadha, I'm sure you can speak to this. So much more intelligence,
A
but also like the cookout.
C
Yeah, yeah. But also people that you worked with public more publicly in the house, you know, but I think that, like, this is just something that we all have to be aware of and something that like the conversation around this as Big Brother has progressed into, you know, the era where they had the 50% BIPOC initiative that has seemingly been rolled back a little bit. Like, I want to make. Make sure that we don't stop talking about this because I'm not saying that Kamu did this because he doesn't like women or anything like that. I think it's just telling that the people that you are, the types of people that you choose to align yourself with and maybe this is an opportunity to look more outside of that when you're in a house where you're locked away with a lot of people and you could really learn from other people.
A
Well said. Well said, Maggie. Hear that? That's now crispy and McCrispy strips meeting.

Hey, it's Ryan Reynolds here from Mint Mobile. Now I was looking for fun ways to tell you that Mint's offer of unlimited Premium Wireless for $15 a month is back. So I thought it would be fun if we made $15 bills but it turns out that's very illegal. So there goes my big idea for the commercial. Give it a try.
A
And@mint mobile.com Switch upfront payment of $45 for three months, $90 for six months or $180 for 12 month Plan required
C
$15 per month equivalent to taxes and fees. Extra initial plan term only greater than 50 gigabytes. Me slow when network is busy see terms.
B
Why don't we go back to let's, let's go to where we started with the initial nominations and we ended up with Lyric and Mallory and Lala being on the block and in the first half of the episode I thought that we were going to start to see the beginning of a Lyric hype edit Mallard. Maggie, I've heard you on the on the live feed updates talk about how you two are a lyricist.
C
I am.
B
I feel like that I, I really last week was starting to see like you know I, I thought that there I had very high hopes for what Lyric could do in a post Rome world and I thought that we were starting to get the beginning of some Lyric hype going into her winning the veto tonight.
C
Hard agree. You were the first person to say publicly on the network that you were a ly. I feel personally and I you you
B
coined the term but I had that I, I did feel like that I thought that she was the one person on on that other side that I thought like she she has upside to be an iconic big brother figure.
C
I, I, I think that A big reason for that is that she is not, like, she doesn't have a huge ego. It seems within the house, she's fine with people thinking that she's dumb or that she can't compete or that, like, that's okay with her, you know? And I think that, like, she's clearly not dumb after watching tonight, she can very clearly compete. We just got to get her to stop mentioning Rome in these drs.
B
Well, okay, Chada, I know I saw you on Chat BCC that you feel like that's. Yes, go. What do you say about Lyric?
A
Sure. Okay, well, first of all, shout out to chat BCC. I'm in chat BCC. Rob is in chat BCC as well.
B
BB28 chat. I mean, it's, it's, it's, it's wild how many Big Brother alumni are there talking about every single episode.
A
And as a super fan of Big Brother myself, or maybe just like a very, very, very large fan who has also played the game, it's like my Olympics. It's like my Coachella of Big Brother. All of your favorites are in that chat, so definitely check it out. My thoughts about Lyric. Okay, well, first of all, I know that the doctor is feeding her lines to say about Rome. As someone who has played the game, I keep mentioning that. I remember when I lost someone I was very close to, the doctor would keep asking me to mention that person's name. And so I wouldn't be surprised if that's what's happening. Her happening to her, too. I am loving Lyric. In a post Rome era, after the fall of the Roman Empire, she's rising from the ashes. Lyric is someone who, from the beginning, I thought, showed a lot of promise. I felt like she was going to be the complete package. And alas, she found herself in a showmance. You guys sure have talked about this before. But the reason why I don't like Showman says is because often the two players become distracted and they take their eye off the prize. And it's no longer interesting for me as a viewer to watch two people who clearly are not 100% focused on the game. And also, I think in the edit I mentioned this in Chat bcc, the young woman who's in the showmance is often reduced to their membership of said showmance, regardless of how much they're strategizing outside of the showmance, regardless of the bonds they're forming. We saw this with Holly and Mickey. Jump, scare, I know. Trigger warning, Jackson, Mickey. But Holly did so well. And yet I Don't remember really anything that Holly did outside of being in a showmance with Mickey. So that is another reason why I don't like showmances, especially for the young women playing this game. I'm really excited to watch Lyric. As you said, Maggie, she does not have an ego. I think that's really important because this game is all about managing people's expectations well. This game is all about knowing what people's perception of you is and being able to manage that super well. And it seems like she's very in tune with how people see her and she can, she can kind of manipulate that. So yeah, Lyric is one to watch for sure. And the fact that she voted Rome out stone cold. I'm obsessed with her. I didn't know that lyricist was a thing. But sign me up for.
C
I have a comparison of lyrics that has not really been made yet. Like people are saying, I've been saying online like Alice and Irwin and maybe if she ends up in another romance. But I think that she's a little Franzel esque where like she's fine to be like, oh, oh me, you know, oh, little old me. Don't look over here. And yet she like can maybe lurk in the shadows. I don't know that she has the light sort of throw somebody else under a bus like ideas that maybe Franzel does. But she got Devin's to use the veto on her last week. Like I think that that is prime to show you the self preservation that she has. I. I really think that she has huge upside and I do think that if we start to see like infighting within this other side, this majority alliance, Lyric might be the one who like kind of slithers her way through. I can easily see her making like a final five, final four sit situation.
B
I just think she's willing to like try a lot of different things to be able to. I think that she is very self motivated and I think it really worked out great for her that they got rid of Rome and kept her. And I think that she sort of seen a little bit kind of like a wounded bird and doesn't have Rome around anymore. And she was so good in the veto competition also I think she had the two highest scores out of anybody that went and so I think that she could be like, I was a little nervous this week, Chada that she could potentially be on the trajectory of no. Okay, now she's going to be on the block every week and now, okay, now we're going to nominate her. But she was so Good in the veto that I'm wondering if people might think twice about putting her up in the block.
A
Yeah, I mean, it could go one of two ways. Either they could start seeing her as an asset, and so she has now maybe managed to change her perception from perpetual pawn to, oh, I can use her. And if I align myself with her and she has a really good shot of winning power, then, hey, maybe she'll use that power in my favor. So I can see that. I mean, she's also getting closer to Kamu on a personal level and Chuck on a personal level. And I wouldn't be surprised if she maybe uses Angela's relationship with her daughters at home to kind of work her way into Angela's heart. So, yeah, I don't know.
C
I also want to. Just piggybacking off of that question, Rob, with, like, her being seen as a big competition threat, like, I think she can really thread the needle and be kind of in the sweet spot, because even when people have talked about her win, they've been like, well, it's because she plays pickleball all the time. Like, nobody's really been like. And she was so athletic, and she was such a badass. The way that they have been about Mallory, where she's been getting called Pipe queen, this huge competition threat, and they're targeting her when her and her and Lyric now have won the exact same amount of competitions. Lyric kicked everybody's butt the way Mallory kicked everybody's butt. Like, I. I think it's just the perception that Lyric is able to craft for herself in there. And I'm very. I'm a real lyricist. I really am.
A
I also do want to point out, because this is a strategy that I most definitely used. I wore my hair a certain way. I did the blush. Like, I really tried to make myself appear as young as possible. I feel like Lyric might be doing that, too. She always has the pigtail. She's very small. Kind of like, when she's talking to certain people, she'll raise the octave of her voice, change her pitch. So, again, it's all about being aware of that perception and really using that to your advantage. And I think Lyric has shown so far that she's really good at having that skill.
B
Yeah, I think that that's also super interesting. I've seen there is a lot of discourse about that as well, but I kind of feel like that if she is weaponizing it, it makes me like her more as a player.
C
Me, too, Rob.
A
Yeah. Yes. I think it was a little weird for me to watch with Rome because that was. I don't know, I just felt weird. But now that Rome's gone, I'm. A lyric Stan, what can I say? Sorry, Maggie interrupted.
B
Yeah. I think the Rome thing is complicated because she does have feelings for him. So it didn't. It didn't seem like that she was really trying to manipulate Rome, but now that Rome's, like, kind of off the table, I think, like, Like, I'm very interested to watch the way she operates in the house. She's an interesting, unusual player, I think. Yeah. And she had a nice moment with Mallory and I. I like that the two of them, they're sort of like in this foxhole together and they're crying together and they're. They're besties. They're on the block. And so I'm really. I'm very attached to Mallory also. I really don't want to see her go home.
C
I am so attached to Mallory. I heard you say this. Maybe it was with Taryn on the BBQ and a. About, like, how you really liked Mallory, you didn't want her to go home. And I was kind of like, oh, really? Like, Rob's into Mallory.
B
I'm into Mallory. Yeah.
C
She is so quirky and interesting. Like, she, She. I feel like she was cast to fit the kind of, like, Kelly, like, quirky role, and she definitely does, but in a totally unique way. Like, I feel like very different than most people that we see on the show.
B
Yeah. Honestly, I. I feel like that. That. And I hope I'm not forgetting anybody, but I feel like that the. The four younger women on the cast, like, I think that they all are very interesting and they all bring, like, a very different dynamic to it. I mean, we have the Littles who are always together in Melody and Mallory and Lyric, But Taylor also, I'm sure we'll talk about more, has really come into her own as well. And so I feel like that the. The four young women all, like, have a lot to offer. And I really do hope that we can see more from all of them and that Mallory, I really do want her to say so, but my process of elimination. I'm kind of. I'm kind of out on Lala, I'm sorry to say to all the Lala stands that I feel like that my best case scenario for Thursday's eviction. We'll talk more about the vote. It would be for Lala to go home. Chada, how are you feeling about Lala these days?
A
Yeah, I. It does hurt my heart. You said what Neat lady.
B
I'm sure she's great lady. Yeah.
A
Yes. Beautiful gowns.
C
Beautiful gowns.
A
No, I, she seems so sweet, but unfortunately the reason why I tune into Big Brother isn't to watch nice people being nice. I was hoping for a Vanessa or a Tiffany type player. Tiffany's downstairs, by the way. She'll come up in a second to say hello, but just even looks wise. She very much gives Tiffany with the blonde braids. And she's older. She has wisdom, life experience. I really thought she was going to use that in her toolbox. And that hasn't necessarily come out yet. So I think I have the same position as you, Rob.
B
Tiffany is an anomaly in that she is like such a. A young soul.
A
Yes.
B
That, you know that there was like, you would not have known that there was an age difference between Tiffany and.
A
You're so right.
B
You know, some of the other players on your season and I, I know that Lala is. Is an older person, but it just, it wasn't a fit it where she was too much of the mom and Tiffany is a mom, but she's not the mom. And that's such a success on the shows.
C
Yeah. Nobody. Nobody on your season was going around calling Tiffany like, Mama Tiff ever.
A
She also said we couldn't do that. She was like, I'm not your mom. I'm not the mom. Don't call me Mama Tiff. And Big D was like, noted, I don't like you. What's going on. But yeah, and, and I'm so glad that she did do that because I think that would, that does. That wouldn't have necessarily cast an unnecessary target on her, but she just didn't want to be that archetype all season. Yeah.
B
And I, I know we're talking Big Brother, but it happens in Survivor too, where the, the women who are seen as the mom of the tribe, like, it's, it's a, A big hurdle for them to overcome, especially when they get to the end. And it's really the, the women who are. Who are mothers who are, but are not the mother to the people that are out there. It's like that they sort of like hold those two things separately of the odd. Like, I am a parent, but I'm not here to be your parent. And I think that that's an important distinction for people. And I know there's a whole double standard with nobody saying like, well, Devin's is the dad of the house and we. We have a problem.
C
Maybe Daddy. Rob.
B
Yes. Have you seen the discord yes.
A
What is the discourse? I want to know?
C
People are making thirst cams of Devin.
B
Rick Devin.
C
Yeah, we. You know, how does it feel, Rob, to be off of the thirst cams from you, from your trader season that now they're. They're moving on to Rick Devins?
B
Listen, I'm so happy for Rick. And I saw somebody was on Twitter. I saw, like, really, like trying to call out all the players. Plastic surgery that Rick Devins,
A
They're like
C
fat removal, eye lift, you know, like
B
Botox has, I think lost a lot of weight since when he played on his first season of Survivor. But yeah, I saw that. And Becca Devins was responding to it.
A
How does Becca feel about the thirst traps? Is she honored? Is she confused?
C
She is. She's been commenting and she's been like, he's always been hot, which is what you should say about her, man. Very sweet.
A
Yeah.
C
Was Nicole text or commenting that on yours, Rob?
B
You know, I don't want to. I don't speak for her, the first lady. I don't want to get myself in trouble, but I feel like that she. She. I. I feel like that she does not particularly like seeing any sort of like. Like objectification of myself.
A
Okay, well, that's good.
C
She wants people to respect you for your mind. Yeah.
B
Yeah. Let's see. I want to talk about Devin's and the power a little bit in terms of. We saw a lot of speculation about the Per Diamond Devins, as they called him in the opening John. So in your season, I'm trying to remember what the name of it was. I know you were very instrumental in sort of like breaking open the strategy of who got to go. What was the room called? The. The. The high roller room.
A
Yes. You got it.
B
Yes.
A
Yeah. Good memory. Oh, my God.
B
Pull this out of my ass at the last second. Yeah. So if you talk a little bit about what it's like to speculate about what America is doing with the vote.
A
Well, okay, my season was unique because the cookout was in possession of. Of all of the information in the house at that point in the game. And so we knew exactly how much money America awarded to each person who could play, who couldn't, et cetera. But I'm typically not a fan of America's involvement on seasons just because I do feel like that compromises the integrity of the game. But I know I would be in that house definitely going crazy and spiraling to try to figure out like. Like Stevens have the power. What is it? What could it be? What were some of the Powers in past seasons. I thought it was crazy how Barrett called that out. And I'm wondering if Barrett did that innocuously or if he was specifically looking to gauge their reactions. But I feel like now in real time, the house guests are kind of aware that it's Devin's. Right?
B
Yeah. Well, I thought it was wild that Jason called out Devin's at the tea party about that. Like, oh, do you have the power? And Rick dad was like, no, no, no. I wish, I wish.
C
It's a good Devin.
B
I think you have the power, Maggie.
C
I don't have the power. America hates me.
A
Yeah, yeah, right? And then his evil laugh.
C
The.
A
Yeah. Oh, my. Yeah. Oh, my.
B
Maggie, I liked also what you were saying on the update about when Rick Devins with the power and Taran had laid the case about how, you know, a person really could use the diamond power of veto to really, like, lay down the law on this season. I, I, I initially also agree with you that Rick Devins is looking for his big flashy move. But I know we'll, we'll see that. I do feel like that, like, Rick Devins is starting to really learn how to slow play big brother.
C
Yeah. And, you know, he said tonight in the Dr. Like, I might be able to do something creative with this. And I was like, oh, he's gonna figure it out. No, but I also think that, like, you know, if his number one ally in the house was Hannah Chada, she would already be like, well, this is what we're doing with it. We're obviously gonna blackmail everybody. But Dee is a little different. I feel, I'm not sure that Dee is going to be think that way either. Like, I think that he will just follow Rick's lead. I think that D something that I've noticed. And De is playing amazing. Right. She's far and away playing amazing. But I do think that D is struggling a little bit with keeping all of the plates spinning in the air. I think that sometimes her mind, like, she gets a little too focused on one thing and she really lets some things go. And I don't, I don't right now. It's all been fine. Like, all of that's been fine because they've held so much power and they continue to with the diamond power veto. But I do feel like I remember on BB20, Taryn would every week be like, Tyler's kind of really dropping a ball here. Like, is something bad going to happen? And then it wouldn't. But, like, there was always some type of danger that, like, it's very hard to play the type of game that, like, Tyler Crispin played, the type of game that Dee is playing, because it's exhausting. It's exhausting to keep that level of, you know, that sheen up, that level of relationship up with every single person, to have your mind be thinking all of the time, like, Hannah, you can speak to. You were in the house. You know how exhausting it is. But I do think that sometimes, like, Dee slips up. Like, she said something about Devin's having the power in front of Angela the other night. Like, I think that Dee sometimes can be a little messy in the way where, you know, Parvati did. Parvati really remind me a lot of each other. You agree, Rob? Sorry.
B
I agree 100%. I think that both of them and, you know, it's been, you know, pretty well documented that they are elite social charmers, that they really, the person that they're talking to, they make them feel like a million bucks and people fall under their spell, both of them. But I don't think, with. With all due respect to both mothers in question that I don't think that they are always like long term elite strategists. And not to say poverty pulled off one of the greatest moves in the history of Survivor when playing two idols at the same time at one tribal council council. But I think that they both work best in part of a. Of an ensemble. And I think that in that ensemble, they are not. Neither of them are the person who's really the. The long term planner.
C
And they both have this quality that, you know, my friend Lincoln pointed this out, actually, I can't, like, take full credit for this, but they both have this quality where like. Like they're there. Like, it's not that deep, you know, like, it's not that serious. Like, we're having fun here. It's not that serious, you know, where they're, like, a little giggly about everything. But Parvati also would find herself in these situations where, like, she has that iconic confessional where she. She says, I've gotten myself in quite a pickle and A pickle. Yeah, exactly. I feel like Dee maybe because we can see all of this, like, I can see everything that's going on because it's big brother and we have the feeds. But I do feel like D is some of these spinning plates all this to say I think that she is maybe not. Like I said, if Devin's had you Chada to bounce this off of, like, I think he would be in a much better position than he is with someone like D who will be like, great, what should we do with it? You know, that kind of thing.
A
I love this, I guess, perspective that you guys are giving me on Dee because I didn't watch Dee on her original season of Survivor, and so I'm still kind of trying to figure her out as a person, as a player. I do like her so far. But I. I don't want to say she hasn't been playing big brother yet. She has been, and she's been doing a really good job. But as you said, Maggie, she's been comfortable. She's been in power for the last three weeks. And so, yeah, she's building those relationships. But. But when she finds herself in jeopardy, vulnerable on the block, and the diamond power veto has already been used, or maybe it's Devin's next to Dee and so Devin's has to use it on himself. Well, if. If I was a betting woman, Devin's may not. But I digress. I am curious to see how Dee steps up to the plate. Also, we've talked about this on the Royalty podcast over on the Heavy Crown network, but Survivor and Big Brother, because of that time difference, really does make the games like night and day almost. Because you do have to think in the long term, we're on day, like, 29. Is it? No, no, no. Day 24. I think we're on day one.
C
We're one third of the way through. Hamster watch put out the Tweet that we're 30 or 33% of the way through.
A
Wait, okay, so maybe we are on day 29. Yeah, that sounds about right. But yeah, we're on day 29. Like, the Survivor season would have been over at this point, and so.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah. I'm just curious.
B
I think they moved. They moved in what, July 9th. I. I feel like it's. They moved in July 7th. I think it's. I think it's like day 22. 2023 or 23.
A
23 or 24, something like that. Oh, 25 of the way. Done. Okay, according.
B
That tracks.
C
Sorry.
A
But I mean, still, like, this Friday is 26 days.
C
Yeah.
B
Yeah. I think also that D is a little bit that she likes to be a little messy. I think that she. I don't say that she gets bored, but I think she wants to also. Like, she likes the chaos. She likes. And not like Rick Devin's like, the chaos, but she. She enjoys when. When people are fighting. I think that that's exciting for her.
C
She. Hannah. Like, just to put it into perspective, on her original season that she won, she knew that all the votes were going one way and she threw a rogue vote to someone just because she didn't like him and she knew he was gonna stay. Like, she knew he was dying, but she just threw the vote to him because she was like. Like, he is annoying and she voted for him.
A
And I respect that.
C
Yeah, exactly. So, like, that's kind of the perspective of like. And she's an elite survivor player. She's one of the best winners of the new era, if not the best winner of the new era, but, like, she does things like that.
A
I am curious because I've heard her say this, like, oh, I'm the most dominant player of the new era. I've heard other people refer to her as one of the best players of the new era. I haven't seen that many new era seasons. Can you guys explain why?
B
That's the general that she was part of a group where a lot of the new era winners have kind of played from under the radar. They're sort of a little bit discounted early on and they're sort of where in new era Survivor a lot of times the biggest threats get taken out and so you've seen a lot of people in the new era sort of just win by just sort of like being making one big move right at the end and they're the winner for the season. Where D was the first person in the new era to be part of a dominant alliance that stuck together, that didn't really start voting out there other people from the from the alliance or voting out their number ones just to make a resume move. I think she won three individual immunities, so she's also quite a comp beast also. So she has this elite social game. She was part of this very dominant alliance. She made moves that other people didn't know about. Where I think that one of her signature moves were that she ended up on the vote that got out Emily flippin in season 45 where she told her number one ally, Julie to play the idol on a night when everybody was going to then vote for her and then it bounced off of Julie and went to Emily flipping. But she acted like she didn't know this. She had a showmance in that season also with a guy named Austin, and she ended up keeping that secret from him for the whole season. Then went to the final three with said showmance and then told everybody that she lied to him and she actually revealed his secret to Julie that night
C
and she really put him in A blender.
A
She really put him in a blender.
B
So she really. She did a lot in that season 45. And so compared to the other winners of the new era, I think she really, you know, accomplished the most.
A
Gotcha. Okay, that's really, really interesting because she. She found herself in the dominant alliance on season 45, or I shouldn't say found herself. She put herself there.
B
She was part of the. She was part of.
A
She was part of the dominant alliance alliance. And, you know, so far she's been part of the majority alliance. She's in the tool shed. And so when that does inevitably break up because all big alliances on Big Brother split up with the exception of one. Anyway, I, Yeah, I wonder how she is going to pick up those pieces and maneuver the game moving forward on season 50. I don't remember her being part of a dominant alliance, but she was also, yeah, sent home pretty early in the game.
B
Right. There was no dominant alliance really in season 50. I mean, she did have the people that she was working with early on in Tiffany and Camila. And then ultimately after the swap, D was part of a group that they sent. They sent out Charlie, but then they blindsided Jonathan. And then very quick, she was like, at the merge, she was like almost the consensus vote, everybody realized, like, hey, we just have to get her out now.
C
It was hard for, though, because she was the only winner, like, at that point, you know, like, it was really hard. She came into that season with a huge target on her back.
B
Sure.
C
But I also think that she won when she needed to in 45. Like, there were moments when she was totally going to be targeted. Like she. She was not, but she won those immunities when she needed to.
B
Since we're on the subject of D, I actually think that D is in a bit of a pickle because I predict D will not get the power next week. And I wonder if we see a scenario where D gets passed over, does not win one of the first six BB time capsules. Is this a hot take, Hannah? Chada.
A
This is a hot take. Jason might get the power next week, but if Jason goes home, I think it defaults to D. And if she doesn't get it next week, I feel like she gets it the week after or the week after. What do you guys think?
B
Well, I think that that is the conventional wisdom, but I think that if she's part of this big alliance and I think that the audience eventually sours of the big alliance. Angela and Rick already got their power. I think that the audience is Going to start to side with some of the underdogs in the house. And I'm not sure if people will continue to vote for D. Again, against trying to help out the people who are the underdogs. I know that D has her fan base from Survivor, but as we're seeing, you know, we saw with the first couple of weeks with Jason, the people aren't necessarily coming over to watch from the other show. What do you think, Maggie?
C
Yeah, I mean, I totally agree with you, but again, like, okay, I feel like I said I'm, like, the least casual person, so I'm like, like, no, D. Like, I wouldn't vote for D. I would vote for. There's plenty of people I would vote for. I vote for Lyric. I would vote for Jason. I would vote for Mallory. But, like, I don't know. I don't know what Melissa's mom thinks. You know, I. I don't know.
B
Melissa's mom was very high on D. Yeah. First couple episodes.
C
Exactly.
B
I. I don't know. But I just think that the. The audience that's voting for these things are going to start to side with the underdogs, and I think they're going to want to start to give the power. I know Drew didn't get a lot tonight, but I think that he was somebody. Somebody who could potentially have gotten one of those powers. Jason is in the mix. I think that Lyric is going to be in the mix.
A
Mallory. But you know, the two that I think will 100 get the power. Yash, Chuck, maybe Haley.
C
Yeah.
B
So I guess. I guess that that is the point of, like, are there six people that the, like, could. Could D get like, the fifth of the sixth? I don't think that you will get the power next.
C
You know, that reminds me of the season BB20, how they did those, like, power ups where you vote. Like, the person who was talked about the most got a good thing and the person who was talked about the least got a bad thing. Like, I loved that because I remember being like, oh, great. People, like, know that they're boring and that people aren't. You know what I mean? And it actually ended up going to people who ended up being, like, a really big deal on the season. Like, Fessy got one at one point. Who, like, Betsy is an iconic big brother who flipped, you know, like,
A
iconic for bad reasons.
C
Yeah.
B
Rachel got one.
C
Pardon?
B
Rachel got one, right?
A
Oh, yes.
C
And Haley got one, too.
A
Haley had to, like, my queen things
C
in the middle of the night.
A
Yes, yes, yes. Okay. So, you know, maybe Tides will turn for Chuck and Yash. But we did get one Chuck sighting in chat bcc. I was like, do we have life from Yash or. Sorry from Chuck? And we did. At the end of the episode.
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Chuck went to. After Jason went and said that hair. Want to get the three icons out. You got Chuck, who. I do think that this. That indignant Chuck is the best version of Chuck where he is like, can you believe he went to me and said that? And so I felt like I had seen Chuck a couple of weeks ago on the live feeds where that he was talking to Devin about how bad J. Yash was at the game. It's like that really gets Chuck animated when he thinks somebody is being bad at the game.
C
Well, that's great. Maybe one day we'll see it on the episode.
A
I actually, it was tonight.
C
Oh, you're right. I forgot.
A
I hate that, though. I hate whenever people feel like they can play BB God. That's something that happened on my season. I just. Every summer I'm reminded of just how much I hate about this game. But it's not like I hate the game. I just hate a lot about it. And the way that people play it really gets me animated and riled up. Can you tell as I'm talking to you?
B
Yeah. Well, can you expand on that? What. What happened that made you feel that
A
way in tonight's episode?
B
No, in general, like. Like what. What's your origin story with this?
A
Oh, well, summer of. Let's go on the time, the timetable, back to July, August, September, whatever, of 2021. I just remember within the cookout, specifically the cookout, men, there was a lot of chatter about, like, so and so deserves this because so and so is good. You guys sipping your tea. So and so. Oh, my light Oops. But so and so doesn't deserve to be here because they haven't contributed and they're bad at the game. They would use verbiage like that. So I think the reason I remember that well, okay, so I'm not crazy.
B
No.
C
There's a clip of me talking about that that actually, like, has been around for a while. Yeah.
A
I remember specifically it was often in reference to the women of the cookout, never in reference to the fellow men. So I think when I hear stuff like that, it's partially me getting triggered and then partially me just getting mad about, like, well, who died and made you the BB God? Yeah, that's it. That's my. That's my origin story.
B
Yeah.
C
The moment I always go back to of like, somebody acting like BB God was in BB 19 when Jack would, like, tell Kemi not to put her water bottle in the fridge and stuff.
A
Yes.
C
Remember that?
A
Yes. Dying.
B
Yeah.
C
Like, that's what I always go back to. And, like, I do think Nicole literally told Kemi once, like, what does he think he's God. Like, what's happening here?
A
Oh, my gosh. May that season never find me. May I never find myself in a house like that season.
B
Yeah. I'd love to get your take on Drew, who is. Oh, here she is.
A
Wait, did you hear this? Can you hear a little?
C
Hi, Tiff. Hi, Maggie.
B
Hi, Tiffany. How are you?
A
Hello.
C
Mr. Rob has a podcast.
A
Hello. Yes.
B
Doing great. How are you doing?
C
Oh, I'm doing amazing. It's been a long time since I talked to you.
B
Yes, yes. And, yeah, you sound. You sound totally different now. I know.
C
You know, I had to do a show called Destination Accent. I kind of left there, and I kind of came back with an accent, and I, you know, now I'm Tiffany. She'll go away now.
A
I'm just kidding.
B
Are you holding your light?
C
This setup is amazing.
A
I love him.
C
So I just want to know, how does Hannah get on rap?
B
Has a podcast.
C
Like, how do I get on rap?
B
When do you want to come on?
C
Yeah, text me. Have your people talk to my people.
B
I'll text you directly.
A
Thank you.
B
Yes.
C
I just came to say hi. She told me you guys were filming, and so I just wanted to come say hi. Maggie, you are looking really ostatious over there. Oh, thank you.
A
She said, is that a wor. Not taking run Big D too much.
C
Thank you so much for saying that, Tiff. Love you so much. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on this episode on your guys's podcast this week. Anybody want any tea?
B
Yeah. T I F F a N Y A N Y.
C
Like, like the company.
B
Like the company.
A
Bye, Tiff.
C
All right, love you.
B
I want to get your take on Drew, who was not in the episode too much tonight, but, you know, is the topic of conversation in the BB28 house. What are your thoughts on the interesting Drew?
A
Ooh, okay. Well, I will say I found out that his name was Drew a couple weeks ago. This whole time, I've been calling him Martin, but I'm now aware. I don't know why.
B
Who's.
A
I don't know, but people would talk about Drew, Drew, Drew in the chat, B.C. and I thought it was a bit that they were doing. So then I was like, tiff, there's not a Drew in the house. And she was like, yes, there is. And I was like, show is it is Chuck's first name Drew? And she was like, no, the kid with the hair. And I was like, I thought that was Martin. So anyway, I am now caught up on Drew. I know his name is Drew. I am so sorry to Drew's parents for the misnomer. What do I think about Drew? I think Drew to me is, I don't want to say trying to play an Andy heron game from BB15, because I certainly think he's less active in spreading information than Andy her in. But I think that the game he is playing where he's sort of in the middle, I mean, Jason called him out at the tea party. We didn't see it on the episode, but said, hey, do the middlemen want to say anything in reference to Drew and Barrett? So he's in the middle, he's aligned with everyone. Eventually he will have to pick a side. And what is emerging as a split house. And I just think the constant running around kind of telling so and so what the other party said about them, that is not a sustainable gain. Because. Because in Big Brother you are playing 24 7. Even when you're in that diary room chit chatting with production, you are still playing a game with them against them. There's really no time to rest. And I just don't know if Drew can keep this up or if it's going to catch up to him. I mean, Angela has her sights set on Drew. It's almost like she has this obsession with trying to get Drew out. And so, yeah, I'm just kind of wondering at what point is Drew's plate full of dishes going to drop? And I also do kind of want to touch on his flirt mance with Melody, whatever you want to call it. I've seen some people kind of compare it to America Corey. I don't know if that's necessarily what I'm getting from it, but I do think it could be one of those things that also works against Drew because now you have the tool shed alliance really questioning, like, will Drew turn on Melody when the time comes? And Drew is assuring them, yes, but Drew's fighting for Mallory to stay. So it's like if you're fighting against the tool shed for Mallory to stay, I don't believe that you're not going to fight for Melody. So I. I just. I don't know. I don't know how much longer he can sustain the game he's playing.
B
Yeah, Maggie, it is going to be very interesting, like, when this comes to a head of what. What comes next for Drew, where does he. Does he get exposed and then ultimately that they get their way and they get him out, or is this sort of like, the start of, like, a second life for Drew?
C
I don't know. It's stressing me out, though, Rob. I have to be honest. I don't like this.
B
I believe in him. I think. I think he's going to be okay. I think he's in this for the long haul.
C
It's just really hard. Like, I think that it's hard as a fan to watch the, like, slow moving, like, car crash and know that it's really not drama. Drew's fault in all of it, but also, like, knowing he's culpable because he's not really seeing what's going on. I'm really happy to hear that you have faith, Rob, because I. I think what I was kind of alluding to, like, early in the episode with the call out last week of the. During the veto of Rome and the call out this week of Jason, like, I think that this will be a big, explosive either ceremony or house meeting moment where Drew's exposed party happens, which is, like, very sa. Tough and is stressing me out because I don't want that to happen to him. But if you think he can rise from the ashes, Rob, I feel more so. I feel like you and I, Rob, are always pretty aligned.
B
We're simpatico.
C
Yeah. Yeah. So I. I trust your judgment there. I think I'm just starting to get, like, really nervous because I do think that the, like, Ronnie comparison, like, that was making me be like, no, you
B
know, that's the bad version.
A
Yeah.
B
But, China, what do you think if all this stuff that Drew knows about everybody comes to light and all of his double dealing gets exposed, do you think that he can get out of it?
A
Yeah. I mean, never say never. I just know that when Angela has her mindset on something, she does not let up. And Angela has been tossing out Drew's name, tarnishing Drew's name, stepping on it, spitting on it. She's kind of gotten D on board to her madness when it comes to Drew, AKA Martin. Martin. So I just. I think it's going to be an uphill battle for Drew. But thankfully, you know, you have the veto and you have Blockbuster, so there may come a point where Martin Drew
C
saves himself so many.
A
Oh, my God. I don't know why he looks like such a Martin to me. Maybe he looks like a young version of Martin Short. I don't know. I don't know. But maybe he just wins Blockbuster so many times that they just stopped trying to target him.
C
The upside of this is like, the true upside of you saying Martin made me think of this. What if Angela and Drew are the new Karen? Kevin Martin from BB Can 5, where Karen is like that Kevin Martin. That all season is exactly truth. That's what happens, you know? Okay.
A
So I think in order for that to happen, Drew would have to be made aware that Angela is relentlessly coming for him because Karen was so conspicuous about it.
C
I think soon that's happening pretty soon.
A
Yeah.
C
I don't think that she can hide it much longer, you know?
A
Yeah, yeah, we'll see. We'll see.
B
Yeah. And I feel like that, you know, Kevin ended up getting, like, super exposed like, that. He was, like, going to. He was gonna go, and then he just won all the comps on the end. So maybe that. That ultimately a historic comp run for Drew. All right, I want to talk about the vote. I think we should bring in what's going on on the live feed, so why don't we go ahead and head to the spoiler section if that's good with you two? Anything else from the episode proper? No.
A
I mean, go ahead.
C
I'm just saying, like, I think Melody and Drew are, like, pretty cute. Cute. I think it's fun. I'm having fun with it. Sorry. Sue me.
A
Yeah.
C
I'm just a girl.
A
No, no, no. I. I like them, too.
B
This episode is supported by FX's the Shards, a seductive drama from executive producer Ryan Murphy. Set in 1980s Los Angeles, the series follows a group of glamorous, deeply entangled high school seniors drawn into a life of wealth, beauty, parties, and excess. At its center is Brett, whose reality begins when the arrival of a new student coincides with a series of mysterious murders. FX's the Shards premieres August 5th on FX and Hulu. Here we go. All right, let me see if. Let's go into our spoilers. Here we go. The Office of Civil Defense has issued the following message.
C
This is a spoiler warning.
B
A spoiler warning means that an actual spoiler against this company has been detected
A
and that protective action should be taken.
B
I tried to spin around 100 times. I don't have a lot of space right here, but now I'm dizzy. But we'll get into what's going on with this vote, and, you know, there's some intrigue where we're heading into Thursday I know Waffle Wednesday was a little slow to develop. People were saying, okay, hey, do something thing. Maggie, where do we stand right now?
C
We're not sure. Really, like, it's really looking like a true split house right now. Like, if Jason wins that blockbuster, I don't think that anyone will know what's going to happen because I have a bit of a theory. So right now this is where the votes fall. Let me try and go over this with you guys. It's for Mallory to stay day. The votes would be so they would be. These people are voting out Lala. It's Barrett, Drew, Melody, lyric, Jason. And then they would need Taylor. Oh, sorry. No. There's one other person I'm missing. Yash.
A
Yes.
C
And Yash is definitely voting for Mallory to stay. They would need Taylor to make it a 7 to 5 vote. Taylor is really unsure.
A
Sure.
C
And today she started going around saying, no, I'm voting to keep Lala. Like, I can't do that to her. She's my girl. Like, I think I have to vote to keep Lala. This is kind of happening because last night Camu and Devin's came to her and was like, we have to keep, like we have to vote out Mallory. But Taylor, we know from last week that she'll throw a rogue vote and she's already been talking about after she's like, all right, everybody, I'm voting, I'm voting for Lala. I'm voting for Lala to stay. Started to be like, you know who might vote for Lala to go though? Haley. She's been talking about how she doesn't like Lala. Haley might be the person that you guys should talk to if you want Mallory to stay like for my game. Maybe that's a good idea. Haley, Haley, Haley. I think Taylor because she's like, oh, I'm so glad the vote's not coming down to me. She keeps being like, I'm so glad the vote's not coming down to me.
B
Yeah.
C
I think Taylor might be setting up thog for to get blamed for if the votes are.
B
I didn't even put those two things together.
C
That is my theory based on the brilliant theory.
B
That's so good.
C
We'll see.
B
Yeah. Because I, I, I feel like I, I hate that Taylor sort of, she had this like this plan to have the tethers with the Eminem and then she sort of just got like roped into now that like she feels like, hey, I got this alliance with Devins and Kamu but I think that they're Just guilting her into voting the way that she. That they wanted to vote this week.
C
And she's been very vocal since this afternoon, saying, like, I am voting for Lala. Like, I am. I am voting for Lala. Like, to stay. I'm voting, you know, I'm. I'm going to vote out Mallory if that's the case. But she keeps saying to people, like, Haley is maybe the vote you can get if you need it. And I. I think only because she is sneaky like that. And last week she was able to pull it off and be like, I don't know. So I. Maybe we'll have to hear what Taryn says in the morning. This is not Taryn verified. Okay. Maybe he'll get on the update and be like, that's not true because of X, Y and Z. But this is. This is what I think Taylor's cooking with.
B
And listen, it might be the case at, what, 7:55 Big Brother time that we're recording this podcast and it might not be the case in the morning.
C
Exactly, exactly. But that's kind of my take on where everything lies. Dee and Devin's and Angela all had a meeting earlier today and Devin was like, okay, so are we, like, really pushing for Mallory to go? Are we just going to let things happen? Like, are we just. And D was like, no, I think we have to, like, Kamu has to be the one to push. She was like, we encourage Kamu to push, but, like, Mallory's got to go. So even Rick was kind of like, should we back off? I don't know. So I do think that there's a lot. There's a lot that can still happen, in my opinion.
A
Okay, so are we kind of expecting this vote to be a 7 to 5?
C
Maybe, but also something, you know, people could pull each other, you know, in the hours and be like, we don't have the votes here. We don't, like, the people who are on the bottom, like, could maybe get spooked in some way. You know, we have to vote out Mallory. But the thing about Mallory is, like, she's going hard. Okay? She's going hard for her boats. The problem is right now she just really thinks she has Dean Angela because Angela all week has been, like, pumping her up and gassing her up that she's going to, like, work that it's going to happen. And, like, she's working for her. So she really thinks she has Dean Angela in the pocket. So she's less concerned. I think that she maybe needs to be. But, like, Mallory Is somebody like Mallory in the house is a little bit of a hater. Like, she's like, these, these. That's like, this sucks. So I feel like she's not somebody who's going to lay over and die. Right. She will fight until the very, very end.
A
Yeah, well, which is why she's absolutely more of an asset for that side than Lala. But I am curious. Drew and Barrett have 100%, as of this moment in time, committed to voting for Mallory to stay.
C
That's the case because. Well, 100% right now. Because they kind of got the okay from Devins and D. Like, they floated them and they were like, yeah, I mean, sure, that sounds like I'm open, you know, and that's what Dee was telling Devin's, like, in Angela, in their conversations, she's like, no, we keep saying, like, what do you think? Like, whatever, we're very open. But the truth of the matter is, like, they need Kamu to be the one who's pushing. And they'll at the end of the day, back off and be like, well, we don't want to go against com. The hoh, you know, And I think that they're also like, if this fails, it's on comma. Like, it's not on us, you know? Yeah. So, yeah, we'll see what happens, though.
A
But I wonder if this whole conundrum is Drew and Barrett kind of declaring aside.
C
I think that it is inadvertently. I think that they have D and Devin's blessing, but I think that Dee and Devin's are, like, going and whispering over to the red corner, like, see. See what they're doing? See what they're doing? And that's really making, like, Kamu, especially as Spidey sense test. Yeah, yeah.
A
Like when parents say, like, yeah, sure, but, you know, they don't want you.
B
We trust your judgment.
A
Yeah, exactly. I'm not a parent, but that's what I'm imagining.
B
Yeah. Oh, boy, this is sounding so exciting, but I've been doing this podcast long enough to know an exciting Wednesday is often a real flop. A Rooney on Thursday. So many times like, oh, man, do you know, realize what could happen tomorrow? But boy, Jason winning the blockbuster and then Mallory staying in the vote would. Would hit so good. Oh, my God, it really would.
C
Inject it in my veins.
B
Inject it into my veins before we see mallory voted out 12 to 0 on Thursday night.
A
But I really hope not.
C
Yeah, I think that it'll still be. I don't think that she'll be a 12,0 I don't. Yeah, I think that it would be, like, because what they're saying, like, everybody is convinced that it might go to a tie. Comma, who's like, taylor, we need your vote, because it'll go to a tie, and I'll be the decided vote. And they seem like to be super okay with that, and I think that that's part of it too. I think that, like, Dee and Devins won't correct Barrett and Drew because they want them to be on the wrong side of the boat so they can be like, see, yeah, they're not with us.
A
You know, listen, Angela's gonna have a field day with that. A field day.
B
Yeah. I really. I would love Jason to win the Blockbuster. I really. I want Jason to say. But I think it's more important to the resistance that Mallory stays than Jason, because I think that Jason is. Is too much of a lone wolf where, you know, he. He wants to go after Kamu. But I could see him turning on, you know, on anybody at this point.
A
Mm.
C
I could see them all going up to Jason and being like, it's Drew. Drew's the one. And Jason being like, okay, it's Drew, you know, but also, he is really, like, he clocked it in the Tea Party, you know, three vets, three red corner people, you know, So I do.
A
I do hope that if Jason. I still want Jason to win Blockbuster A. Because I hate how isolated he looked at the TV party be for representation purposes. See, he's entertaining. And I do feel like Jason is now aware, hey, this side, like the tool shed alliance, staunchly does not want to work with him. And so I really hope he takes that as a sign to stop pandering to them, even if they are in power. And he starts playing this game a bit differently, because I do feel like Mallory has a better chance of staying against Lala. Obviously, if Mallory wins Blockbuster and Jason's up against Lala, it's probably going to be unanimous or very close to being unanimous. So I'm still rooting for Jason.
B
Does Jason have any votes up against Mallory or Lala?
C
Sorry, Rob, can you repeat that?
B
Does Jason have any votes up against Mallory or Lala?
C
So there has been talk of it. This is the thing, the lyric melody, like, they would love to keep Jason.
B
Yeah.
C
But they're getting spooked and they're. They're getting nervous and already they're, like, calling it off. So I. I don't think that Jason will end up having any votes. Like, they're, of course, like, the idea is there, But I think that. I think Monday night there was.
B
Was some. There was some talk, but yeah, it had, it had fizzled. So it seems like Blockbuster or Bust for Jason. And then there is a path for Mallory against Lala.
A
Yes. A girl can dream.
B
Yeah. Boy, Julie is going to be so sad if Lala gets voted. She loves Lala.
A
Yeah, I mean, I'm gonna be sad too, but let's sad.
C
Okay. Julie will be okay.
B
She's ready.
C
Yeah.
A
We need a halting hex. No, I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding.
B
Yeah. All right. Maggie, is there anything else of note to talk about today from big brother?
C
I don't think so. I feel like I've been talking everybody's ear off for an hour. 15 minutes. Thanks for letting me just go.
A
Yeah, no. Love hearing from you, Maggie.
B
Chada, is there anybody else that we didn't get a chance to talk about that you have any takes on?
A
Yes. Yash Giesling, Chuck Kirby, Haley Lavasseur. Where were their mentions? No, I'm just kidding. Haley, Chuck, Yash, if your families are watching this. Yeah, My process of elimination will eventually get to them as the season goes on. But I guess I did want to kind of touch on Taylor's strategy a little just because she did see the cookout as her inspiration for it. She talked about how she envisioned the house as sort of like five trios and each trio has this tether and each person in the tether has two kind of side pieces. And so that, that is the house's structure in her mind. And I thought she clocked the infrastructure of the house super, super well. And while it was a well thought out plan and I appreciate the fact that she is being strategic here, I think, and I mean, it doesn't seem like that strategy really took on a life of its own. I think if Ka Mu actually believed in it as she was presenting it, Kamu would have been like, yeah, let's, let's iron out the details. Let's talk about this some more. Let's bring in Devin's. But I think she just brought it up a little too late. Late because the, the five tethers, they're not really working together. So it's almost like what is going to unite this group of people? And also managing one person in the cookouts plan was already difficult enough, let alone managing two people. So, yeah, yeah, A for effort.
B
I wonder if it would have worked better for her to go to like, like five people on the bottom as Opposed to. She sort of like went like, sort of like top down of like, oh, yeah, Devin. She went to people who were like in really good people positions. But I kind of wonder if she had sort of like, okay, who are the five people who are like the. In the worst. The person in the worst spot in each trio and then tried to sort of like build it from the ground up.
A
Yeah.
C
The problem with that, though, Rob is usually the worst. The person in the worst spot in a trio, like, is not. Is the one who's the least self interested, you know, so that I feel like you're asking to get ratted out out in that situation.
A
Yeah. You know, and that's probably why she didn't approach it that way, especially before the. The nominee or the veto ceremony. Because if it get. If it gets back to Kamu that a plant is hatching and he's not a part of it, maybe she was scared.
B
Yep. And she did have the line of the night also that all she wanted to do was drink tea and what?
A
Eat.
B
Eat a damn sandwich.
A
Relatable.
B
She said.
A
Yeah, I think that was it. Yeah. Yep. Yeah. And I can relate. That is all I want to do in life too. That's sort. Actually, no, I think that is all I did in the Big Brother house. I really just drank my chai and ate like those are the core memories. And like followed Big D around. Like, that's what I could tell you about my experience. But the food was so good.
B
It was so good in the Big Brother house.
A
Yes. But we had Aza and we had Derek X. We were eating good.
C
You had Aza in there. Aza was like, unreal.
A
No, she. She was like cooking up. She was taking air and like making like souffles from it. It was the craziest thing. She's so talented. And DX too. DX is also a really good chef. And Big D will tell you he is part of that group. He was not. But no. He would literally like take sauce from the fridge, not even warm it up, not even put it in a pot or a microwave, nothing. He would open it up, dump it in a bowl, boil some noodles al dente, borderline undercooked, and be like, dinner is served. Take off his bandana, slap it on the counter and be like, I slaved away for you all. You better not send me home. And I just remember laughing so hard with like Tiffany and Claire. He was really my source of entertainment that summer. And then AZA kept me fed. So that was BB23 in a nutshell. For me? Yeah, I love it.
B
All right, well, Chada, thank you so much for all that. I love anytime you're here and please come back anytime. Looking forward to Cat. I'll be catching up with everybody by you next. Next week.
A
Yes. We're doing a play date. Stay tuned, guys. It's going to be super, super funny. I really hope that we don't scare Rob away.
B
Rob is like, scenario is coming.
A
Scenario from amazing.
B
Okay. All right, so look for that next week. In the meantime, over here on rejp tomorrow, the summer of Stein is happening. What do you want to hear Eric talk about? Go to Robin's website, Stein to get things in the hopper on the Summer of Stein. Then, of course, we got so much going on over on Patreon all season long, including the mailbag that Maggie mentioned every week. I'm talking to Taryn. We're taking your mailbag questions. Robinsonwebs.comb mailbag for that. Plus, we're breaking down the winning percentages for all of the players all season long. Find out who's up and who's down. And every week.
C
Can I say, Rob, I'm loving that podcast because I really feel like a lot of your Big Brother content is more focused on, like, the silliness of it or like it's less. You know, you do so much strategy, heavy stuff for Survivor. I feel like you have more fun with Big Brother, and I feel like the percentages that you and Taryn are doing are really making you get in the weeds more. And I'm really loving that, hearing your perspective.
B
Yeah. And it's very fun to be able to sort of. Sort of like, you know, I've listened to Taran all week and so, like, sort of like, then like, sort of read the tea leaves of like, I'm taking from what you're saying every day, this person. This person is like, had is going up. This person's going down. So it's a fun podcast over on Patreon. I will also be live at 4pm Eastern this week, one hour later because I promised my kids I would take them to Spider man opening weekend. So. So I will be. I'll be at a 12:20 showing of Spider man and then back here for the Q A. If you have a Spider man question also, yeah, be sure to check out the Slop. Also, Chappelle was on fire on the Slop from Tuesday night. So very fun episode of the Slop last night. Uh, also, we have, uh, tickets are on sale for Rahap Con. We just posted the Schedule of events for Rahabcon coming up later on next month, August 26th to the 28th. Also, we started something very fun over on the Survivor podcast feed. Mike Bloom and I have been going on a Survivor time trip. We're talking with iconic survivors about their famous episodes of Survivor. We talked to Kelly Wentworth on the episode Kelly Wentworth, where she played her idol and blindsided Andrew Savage. Check that out over on our Survivor podcast feed. All right, Chado, what can you tell people about the Heavy Crown?
A
Oh, my gosh. Okay, so you guys, over at the Heavy Crowd network, we have a couple different shows. Right now we're doing the Royalty, which covers shows like Big Brother, Survivor Traders. We're going to be doing Destination. Simone and I covered our season of Amazing Race. Simone will be covering amazing race season 39 with an unnamed co host. You guys are definitely going to want to check it out to find out who it's going to be. And then Tiffany and Braden are covering live feeds. We have Outhouse with Big D, Tommy Highsome and Jimmy. So there's a lot happening, all your faves from Big Brother and more. And we just like to laugh, have a good time time and sometimes talk about the game, but it's. It's really fun over there. So thank you, Rob, for having me. Thank you, Maggie, for having me.
B
Yeah, anytime, Chada. And then, Maggie, what's coming up for you?
C
Yeah, well, first, I'm like, so excited that Simone's going to be covering the Amazing Race because I just, like, I thought you guys were so wonderful on the show. Like, I literally think, like, I tweeted, like, you guys seem like just like the sweetest sisters ever. I loved watching you on the Amazing Race. If you guys, if people haven't checked out your season, like, go watch now. It's such a great season of the show. So fun. I am watching Big Brother. You know, I'm in these BB streets. So I'll be back next week for a live feed update. I'm around. You can find me on Instagram at. And TikTok at ML Morgan underscore. And then I'm Blue Sky. Just MLM. Morgan. Whenever I say tweet, I mean, like, I. Blue sky. I just don't know, like, how to say that. I'm not on Twitter, but. Oh, okay. That's just to clarify for everybody. I'm not in the bad place. But yeah, that's. That's kind of what I'm up to. I'll be at RehabCon in August, so
B
see you in a couple of weeks. Yeah. Maggie, you did the life it update on Saturday. I was in the car with my sons listening to it. And my. My older son. My. My. Both my sons are watching, but my. My older son Dominic is very into big brother Chada. That big brother 23 was his, like, introductory season in.
A
Oh, wow. But okay.
B
He was really. He was really horrified that you. You said on the life update that K told Lyric that she was eye candy. And. And he was like, like, waiting for, like. Oh, is he gonna say. Say the lyric in this episode that she was. I. Like, they don't put everything from the live feed into the show.
A
Quick question. Do we think that Lyric and Kambu will become a showmance eventually?
C
I think that it behooves Lyric. Well, I think it depends on what behooves Lyric. I think that, like, she would. She's got kind of Chuck on a leash right now. I think that she's. She's got Kamu on a tether. Like, I think she's just trying to figure out where her next move is. Yeah, exactly. I. I think maybe if. If it's good power. Yeah. Yeah, that's my thought.
A
Okay.
B
All right. Thank you so much. We got a busy Thursday coming up. Taryn has the live feed update Summer of Stein, and then a big eviction night coming up on Thursday right here on rhap. And then I will have a exit interview coming up on Friday as well. Thank you for joining us. Take care, everybody. Have a good one. Bye.
Host: Rob Cesternino
Guests: Hannah Chaddha (BB23), Maggie Morgan
Description: The episode dives deep into the aftermath of the "Mallory’s Tea Party" house meeting in BB28—a chaotic, highly anticipated confrontation that sparked much debate about gameplay, strategy, and cast dynamics. The hosts break down the current state of the house, discuss the effectiveness of manufactured drama, analyze player archetypes and strategy, highlight comparisons to previous seasons, and provide updates on live feed developments, with a strong emphasis on player perception both inside and outside the house.
