(S3E41) – Quarter 2 Review w/ Rob in the ‘Hood It’s that time again! On this episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E41) we have our good friend Rob in the ‘Hood on the show to discuss all the great stuff that came out in the second quarter of 2026 and walk through our top 12 of the quarter lists. Go buy all the records we talk about and let us know where you agree or where we are wrong, but mostly where you agree.

(S3E40) – Solace I don’t think I have to come up with any kind of clever introduction for this beloved band that has been at it for the the part of 30 or so years, so instead I will just say on this episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E40), we talk to Tommy Southard and Justin Daniels of the legendary New Jersey band Solace. We have so much fun talking to Tommy and Justin whenever, but we had a reason for this chat, as the band will be releasing their fifth album, Fading Failing Ruin, on July 3rd, 2026 via Magnetic Eye Records and whoa boy is it amazing. Listen to Rich say the title wrong at least 10 times as well as hearing about how the record came to be, the influence lead vocalist Justin Goins has on the writing and the direction of the band, their recent European tour with Hermano, and may even a couple spoilers about a fest they may play in a mountainous US state next year. I love this band and these people, so please check out our chat and go buy the new record.

(S3E39) – Irata A very cool thing happened the other day. I received an email from the band Irata, just thanking me for mentioning the band and wearing their shirt on the show. First off, I love Irata. Second, thank you Irata for being awesome, not only for reaching out unsolicited but for all the great music they have put out in their career. Obviously I proceeded to ask them to come on the show. This was before the announcement of their new record, titled Human, that drops on July 10th via Small Stone Records. So, not only did Jason, Jon, and Owen join this episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E39), we also got to talk about the amazing new record that is going to blow you all away. Amazing dudes who make amazing music, go check out the single from Human, preorder that beautiful vinyl, then come listen to my chat with Irata.

(S3E38) – Okay You Win Jadd at Blues Funeral gets it. When he hears something he likes, he doesn’t hesitate to do all he can to get the band into the ears of the people who will love it. This is the case with one of the newest signings to the label, Okay You Win, out of London, England. These guys are no overnight sensations; they have been putting in the work in the scene for decades in various forms, but we now all get to hear the fruit of all of their labor in the form of their debut record, End of Days, which drops on June 26th, and let me tell you, it rules. On this episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E37) we talk about their version of grungy stoner desert metal, how the band and the record came to be, playing live, and one of my all time favorite show moments while discussing the bands they love. I cannot reiterate enough how you should all go check out the first singles from End Of Days, preorder it, sign up for the Blues Funeral PostWax subscription, then come listen to my chat with Okay You Win.

(S3E37) – Soft Curse Gloom Metal? Emo Doom? Give it whatever name you want, but the debut record, Liminal Ritual, from Santa Rosa, California’s Soft Curse, can only be described as awesome. On this episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E37), we talk to Jonny Andrew, singer and guitarist from the new band that is bringing their hardcore backgrounds to a more traditional doom sound, and let me tell you, this is doom metal through and through, but with a Soft Curse twist. We talk to Jonny about how the band came to be and their history in the very cool screamo band State Faults, why they have gone metal with this project, the Santa Rosa scene, and Jonny’s singing, which is one of the things that takes Soft Curse to another level. Jonny is a music nerd like me so we had a great discussion about all sorts of stuff, so please check out our chat, but only after you go check out Liminal Ritual, which dropped on June 12th and is available on Bandcamp to order on vinyl today. You should all listen and order, because this is some doom of the future that is here right now.

(S3E36) – The Crooked Skulls Straight out of Jersey and filled with riffs comes The Crooked Skulls, who join us on this episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E36). The trio dropped their debut record, Midnight Sun, back in March and scored a place on that month’s Doom Charts, and rightfully so. The guys discuss the new record and a whole lot more. The interview went a bit sideways (you will see what I mean) but the guys are super cool, the record is awesome, and we had so much fun during our chat. Go check out Midnight Sun and then our chat with The Crooked Skulls.

(S3E35) – Ol’ Time Moonshine There are so many great Heavy Underground Canadian bands out there today, and so many of them are on black Throne Productions. A band that is both of these things is Toronto’s Ol’ Time Moonshine, and on this episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E35) we were lucky enough to have Bill and Chris from the band join us to talk about their amazing new record, Now I Bleed, that is dropping on June 12, 2026. Not only do we talk about the killer third full length and how it came to be, we also nerd out a bit on 90s Alt Rock from Canada, which is always one of my favorite things to discuss. The record drops tomorrow, so check out our chat and then go order Now I Bleed.

(S3E34) - Wailin Storms Back in 2020 when I was starting to get back into the heavy underground music scene, one record that stood out that dragged me back in was Rattle, by North Carolina’s Wailin Storms. I was hooked and have been a big fan ever since. Which is why it is such an honor to have the full band join Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E34) to talk about their amazing new record, The Arsonist, dropping on July 10, 2026 via Season Of Mist records, of which I cannot stop listening to. We discuss the new record in depth, band history and influences, recording with 90s alt royalty, and a lot more. There are two singles available now, so go check them out, then come listen to my chat with Justin, Ben, Steve, and Mark.

(S3E33) – Slow Goat On the latest episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E33), we are back in Portland, Oregon, where the scene is booming and where this episode's guests reside, the mighty Slow Goat! I have been bugging Rosie to come back on the show for a while now, and we not only have her talking about their upcoming new record, Where the Wisest Fear to Tread, which is dropping on July 10, we get the whole band. We discuss their legit AOTY candidate new record and how it came to be and so much more. Go check out the new single and go pre order the vinyl, then please join us for our chat.

(S3E32) – Broadslab On the latest episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E32), Raleigh, NC rockers Broadslab join the show! The Southern Soul Metal band are releasing their first record in 12 years on June 26th, titled The Fifth Essence, and having heard it (multiple times already) I can say it was very worth the wait. We were lucky enough to have five members of the band join us to talk about The Fifth Essence and so much more, so go check out the first single, then come back and listen to our chat.
