Ryan
It looked like somebody was bent over and had their head in the window of the deer blind. And it either heard me or smelt me. And he pulled his head out of the tent and stood straight up. And that.
Larry Dutton
That shocked me.
Ryan
They don't make people that. That big.
Taylor
The way moved
Emilyn
almost as if it

was gliding across the beach.
Emilyn
I've never seen anything move like that in my life.
Taylor
They were screaming at each other in gibberish. It sounded like a language.
Emilyn
And they were chuntering away, back and forwards, back and forwards, back and forwards. I know what a bear looks like and there is no way on this

planet that what I saw were bears. Nine one one, what are you reporting?
Ryan
Jesus Christ.
Taylor
You better, sir. See ya.
Larry Dutton
Hello. Get somebody out here.
Taylor
What's going on now, sir?
Larry Dutton
That son of a is about 6 foot 9. I don't know.
Taylor
Do you see him now, sir?
Larry Dutton
Yes, I'm looking right at him.
Taylor
O.
Larry Dutton
This is Larry Dutton from Philadelphia and you are listening to sasquatch chronicles.
Taylor

Larry Dutton
Welcome to the show. Tonight we'll be speaking with Ryan and emilyn and they come to us from west Virginia. Ryan owns about 30 acres out there and he told me, he said, you know, over the years we've heard a lot of really weird vocalizations. We've heard the whoops. And just a couple years ago, Emily actually saw the creature. And I'll let emilyn go into it. Then we'll wrap up with Taylor, who comes to us from Arkansas and on a very recent trip with her husband down the buffalo river. They saw what they thought were people and the more that they looked at them, the more they realized they weren't people. And that night while camping, something very strange happened. And I'll let Taylor go into it. If you've had an encounter and you'd like to be on the show, shoot me an email. My email address is wesasquatchchronicles.com and if you get a chance check out sasquatch chronicles.com you can become a member and get additional shows. Let's jump into it. Tonight I want to welcome emilyn to the show. Emily, thanks for coming on.
Emilyn
Yeah, of course.
Larry Dutton
Yeah. And I know that we have your father Ryan here, but if you would. Emilyn, this encounter was a couple years back. Take your time. What were you doing and tell me what you saw.
Emilyn
Yeah. So we live on a 60 acre farmland and we have wood surrounding our house and I've always been able to explore around there and we've always seen like little strange things. But that night, me and my dad, we had built a fire. And he had taught me how to build a fire from a very young age. So I was educated on it. So I kind of just started up and he went inside to get a few snacks, use the bathroom, etc. And we had always, like, suspected that we have had like, bigfoots or cryptids in the woods because we've always seen little strange things and we've always heard some like, hoots and hollers. But that night, I turn to my left and I see this, I want to say, eight to nine foot thing. And it's just standing there at the very edge of the woods, Just staring at me while I'm tending to the fire. It kind of had this like, grayish to brown fur on it. And the eyes were like glowing or orangey red kind of. Really the biggest thing that stood out to me was there was like, no facial expression expression. All you could see were just like the eyes glowing. It was kind of like posted up. Up on this tree. Just like standing there at that time, I was like, what is this thing? Like, what is staring at me? Am I in danger? And I. My adrenaline just spiked. And I just sat there, sitting there, like, what am I going to do in this situation? So I look over, like a couple more times to make sure. Like I'm not hallucinating. But like, then again, in my mind I'm like, okay, I gotta get inside. I gotta go get my dad. So I look over the last time, it's still standing there, like, kind of like shifting back and forth a little bit. And I just dead sprint to the house. I get to our steps, I look back, it's just gone. I heard nothing. It had just vanished. And by that time, the adrenaline had, like, kind of run out. And I had to start crying. So I go get my dad. We go out and look and we found a, like, tree branch that's kind of snapped. And even my dad couldn't reach it. He's like super tall. So we found that super strange. And we didn't. Like, the leaves where it was at was kind of like pushed down as if like, something was standing there.
Larry Dutton
It's very scary to run into one of these things. It's very unnerving. And you know, Emily, a lot of eyewitnesses, they'll describe the face lacking that expression you're talking about. A lot of eyewitnesses will say it kind of had like a stone face. And this might be a difficult question to answer, but what do you think its intentions were?
Emilyn
Honestly, I think it was just a little bit curious. Didn't seem mad. It just kind of seemed like super curious or confused. Like it was standing there, like, why is this thing next to this glowing piece of hot flame? I think it was just like, confused or. What's the word?
Larry Dutton
Curious. Yeah, yeah. Curious or not, it's still unnerving to have it standing there watching you. Did you ever hear it walk up?
Emilyn
No, I just. I was out for there for maybe 10 minutes. I just look over there. It's like, no. No leaves crunching, no steaks breaking. Just. Just there. It just appeared.
Larry Dutton
Let me ask you, you had mentioned that there was a lot of weird things going on on that property. What are some things that you've experienced?
Emilyn
Well, back then I had a tree house. I would love to go there. And I would always hear hoots and hollers. Like, not very often, though. It was like. Like once a monthly thing. And there's always. There would always just be like random twigs snapping when, like, the forest, like, there's nothing around me. And one moment it would be like full and live of birds, then dead silent the next. And we, me and my dad, the day after the incident happened, we go out and we put little, like three marbles and a bird. Four marbles.
Ryan
My bad.
Emilyn
And a bird feather. And we come back the next day and we find three rocks and like, a different bird feather, which we found. Super strange.
Larry Dutton
Yeah, that is super strange. It's hard to know what's doing it unless you actually see it. But you guys giving three rocks and getting three different rocks back, it is really weird. I'll agree with you on that. Out there on this property. Have you ever seen the lights we talk about on the show?
Emilyn
Yeah, actually this one time I can recall, it was getting late at night, and I was like, oh, crap, I have to go home. And I'm walking up to. Because I was down at the creek. I was walking up the hill, and I just see this, like, kind of light thing, kind of like hovering, just like. Is that like a flashlight is like dad coming to look for me? And I get a little bit closer and I look away for a second, and then it's just gone. Vanished out of thin air.
Larry Dutton
Many eyewitnesses report that the lights just kind of blinking out. If you ever see one in the future on the property, keep your distance from it. Don't get too close. I mean, you're a smart kid, you know that? I wanted to ask you, do you think the creatures are there all the time or do you Think they only pass through at certain times of the year.
Emilyn
I think they're here all the time. No, I feel like they hide during the day and they come out at
Taylor
night and
Emilyn
kind of nocturnal and roam at night and just go hide in the day.
Larry Dutton
Yeah, that might be true most of the time. There is a lot of sightings. I know yours was at night, but there's a lot of sightings during the day as well. When you looked over and you saw this creature, how much taller do you think this creature was compared to, like your father?
Emilyn
Well, my dad's like six three, so I'm guessing a good solid three feet, like higher than him. So like nine foot.
Larry Dutton
And your dad's a pretty big guy, Emily. I mean, I would imagine next to this creature, he probably would have looked tiny. You know, when you hear the vocalizations and you think they're on the property, that's one thing, but when you see the creature, it's a whole nother thing. How did it kind of affect you seeing it or did
Emilyn
scared me a lot. I did not, like, go out down to the creek. I didn't go in the woods for a little while after, since I was terrified of seeing something like that again. It took me a few months to get super comfortable back into the woods. And that encounter actually inspired me to start watching the show, actually.
Larry Dutton
Well, I appreciate you listening to the show. You know, Emily, I ask everyone, what do you think Sasquatch is? What's your take? What do you think these creatures are?
Emilyn
I think they could just be very, very intelligent apes of some sort or kind of alien, like, if that makes sense, like covering for aliens. I. I think they just came and they've just stuck around.
Larry Dutton
What makes you think alien?
Emilyn
I mean, I feel like some of the. I don't essentially think Bigfoot is an alien. I think some of the light orbs are extraterrestrial beings. But I do think Bigfoot is more of a ape like species that has evolved a little bit more.
Larry Dutton
Yeah. And it was okay if you thought that Sasquatch was an alien. No one really knows what it is. I was telling the members last night. I was talking to this UFO guy, and I swear, after like 30 minutes of listening to him, he brought up a lot of good points about Sasquatch being an alien. I don't know if I personally go along with it, but he did bring up some good points. It's important to kind of listen to everyone. I think what bugs me about your encounter, and you'll often hear this from younger People who've had an encounter is the fact that the creature waited until your dad left before it actually made an appearance. That's why I was kind of curious on what you think the intention was. And I agree with you, it might have just been curiosity. I mean, from the size of the thing, if it wanted to hurt you, it could have and it didn't. And I really appreciate you taking the time to share what happened to you, Emmaline. I was going to chat with your dad. Was there anything else you wanted to kind of add to it?
Emilyn
Nothing really. I just wanted to thank you for letting me have this experience at my dad, for coming on.
Larry Dutton
Oh, it was my pleasure, sweetheart, having you on the show. It takes a lot of guts to come on. I really appreciate. It was my pleasure. And I really appreciate you coming on.
Ryan
Hey, Wes.
Larry Dutton
Hey, Ryan. Thanks for coming on. You got a great kid there.
Ryan
Oh, well, thank you.
Larry Dutton
I wish when I was Emmalyn's age, I was half as smart and half as well spoken. I was just short of a chimpanzee when I was her age. When did you guys start noticing weird stuff going on and around the property prior to Emily seeing it about.
Ryan
I'm trying to think. Emilyn's 13. So about 10 years ago, my sister acquired 30 acres. Just shortly thereafter, I was able to acquire the 30 acres next to it. So between my sister and I, we have 30 acres, field oak trees, some apple trees that were left over from the previous farming days when it was a different family that owned it. And then there's like a creek that runs down along the back, and we're the only ones out there. So I don't know when I first started noticing things, I guess would be maybe like, we would always be out. Emilyn was three or four or five and, you know, burn fires and, you know, started hanging out, you know, next to the house in the nice weather. And then like sometimes we'd sit on the front porch and I'd be like, is that a coyote? Or, you know, what.
Taylor
Does.
Ryan
What does that sound, you know, and then, you know, we would listen and sometimes it's kind of like a. Like a hoop or like, it doesn't quite sound like a coyote. It's. It's different, but it's far off. And so behind us where that creek runs, that kind of runs into a ways away, like a water reservoir, and then eventually that kind of flows and you can go all the way to the New river and the New river gorge, you know, from where we're at, and walk that you know, kind of creek to get there. So there's homes around us, but they're sparse. So I don't know. There's. There's. There's. It. It's kind of like maybe it's just a corridor or something is kind of what I'm thinking, but I don't. You know, I'm not 100 sure. You know, I mean, I believe Emily. I just. It would make sense to me if that was. If that was like a corridor, then maybe they use that because it's less people, and it, you know, they can. They can move in and out of there and cover a large distance without, you know, being seen. But we really, you know, we really. Before Emily had her sighting, we just heard, you know, the occasional hooper, the occasional, you know, kind of like. It just didn't sound like the normal kind of coyote sounds that we would hear. Definitely not like a bear. I never heard, like a big growl or anything like that. But after Emma's experience, then it seems like it kind of just the odd. The little things were, you know, maybe I just paid more attention to it, but I seemed like I saw a few other things. You know, we did the gifting in the woods and put some marbles on a log and. And like, I was like a. Like a turkey feather. We find those in the field, on the hayfield, on the edge of the woods, especially in the spring. So anyway, we put, like, a turkey feather on a dead tree and some marbles on this, like, kind of mossy log. And. And then Emily went to her mom's for a couple days and, you know, came back on. Her and I were the only ones that knew about it. My wife, my son, he's much younger. He's. At that time, he was just. Just an infant at that time. So they didn't know about it. And we was out there a couple days, and then she came back, and her. And I went and checked it, and there's a couple of, you know, the marbles were gone. They weren't there, but there was, like, these three rocks. But they look. They're not like gravel from a driveway rocks. They're like rocks from down by the river, you know, size of your palm. And then the feather wasn't a turkey feather. It was a crow feather. It was further down on the dead log from where I'd left the other one and kind of like wedged up in there and some other little random things. But that's kind of right in around that time period when she had her sighting.
Larry Dutton
Yeah, you Know, the portion of Emily's encounter I've heard a million times from kids is the creature seems to show up when the parents aren't around. And I don't know what the intention was. Obviously, if it wanted to hurt her, it would have, and it didn't. But I don't know why that bothers me so much. I think because I wouldn't put up with that from a human, so why would I put up with it from whatever these things are? Take me back to that night. You go walking into the home, kind of from your perspective. Tell me about what. What happened that night.
Ryan
Well, the first thing was, like, when I got to the back door, it was. It's just. The timing was like, almost. I mean, it's just perfect timing, I guess, for, like, when I got up and left, I wasn't inside long. I mean, I used the bathroom and I grabbed some snacks and a drink. But right as I got to the back door, like, we have the glass back door to the back step. Like, as soon as I was reaching for the handle, Emily, it was almost like she was on the other side reaching for the handle. Like, we met each other at the door and. And she was crying, you know, And I was, you know, obviously, I'm like, what happened? Did. You know, I'm thinking maybe she got burned. Or, like, I just asked her, I said, what happened? And, you know, she was crying and trying to get it together. And, you know, she's like, something was in the woods there, you know, And I'm like, what was in the woods? You know, like, our dogs were inside. They weren't outside with us. And which maybe that's another reason too, that she had her experience. We've got a couple of big dogs and. But anyway, so I was like, it wasn't the dogs. And so I'm trying to think of what, like, what would be in the woods. Was it a bears? What I thinking maybe it was a bear, you know. So, I mean, I grabbed a flashlight and I was able. Just show me where it was, you know, And I said, it's okay. You're safe. And try to get her calmed down. And my biggest thing was to make sure that she knows she was. Wasn't hurt and she wasn't, you know, she was fine. She was just scared, you know, so whatever it was scared her. I'm getting that much out of it. And so we went and looked with a flashlight. And the fire pit is. I don't know, it's maybe like 70 to 100ft from the back door, depending on what side of the fire pit you're on. And. And it's just stacked stone. Like there was like an old stone wall that. Like a retaining wall when we tore down the farmhouse. And some of that stone I saved. And so I had it like, kind of stacked in a circle, like a nice fire pit. And then the wood lines maybe another 30ft from the fire. 20, 30ft, something like that. And she walks right over to where she said she saw this thing. And so I'm looking with the flashlight and I'm shining in the woods and I'm shining around and I don't see anything, don't hear anything, but she's like, right here. And I'm like, like right. Like right here where I'm standing, you know? And she's like, yeah. And she's like, it's a little further over there by the pine tree. So I'm like, okay, so I'm shining, I'm looking at the ground, and I just remember, like, obviously I went and stood there, but before I stood there, I remember, like looking at the ground and it seemed like the leaves were like flattened.
Larry Dutton
Where?
Ryan
Like the leaves in the woods, like oak leaves in the woods. And that time of the year, it's like all the leaves are green. The leaves in the woods that kind of, you know, they're not flat unless something lays on them or stands on them, you know. So I just remember seeing that and be like, okay, well, like, this is the spot. She's like, yeah, that's the spot. So I stood there and I'm like, okay, well, right next, you know, if I'm looking at the fire, to my right is this pine tree. Pretty decent sized pine tree. And I'm standing next to it and kind of like I look up and there's like a branch maybe. I don't know. I got a decent sized hand, probably a little bit bigger than my middle finger. Long little branch coming off of it. And. And it's kind of like broken, but it's not snapped completely off. It's still kind of is attached, like it's been bent, broken, if that makes sense. And it's. It's out of my reach, but I can see it with the. With the flashlight. I just remember thinking, well, that's odd. And then we looked around some more and I kind of walked into the woods a little bit, but I didn't go way down to the creek or anything because she was with me and she was scared. And so we just said, okay, well, that's enough. For the fire tonight and got her back inside and got her calmed down. And I remember, like, laying up there with her, you, know, next to her and asking her, and she was just kind of telling me about everything she saw. And, you know, that it was taller than me. I remember being there next to the tree, Asking her how tall it was, and she was, like, taller. And I put my arm up, and I'm six three, and 210 pounds, and she said it was above my hand. So, I mean, that's got to be. It's tall, Whatever it was.
Larry Dutton
Yeah. I really think she probably saw one of these creatures. I know you guys have bears out there in west virginia, and emilyn's a smart girl. She would have known if it was a bear or not. And a bear is not going to just stand there on two legs and watch her. And I don't blame her for how she reacted. I probably would have reacted the same way. I probably would have been back there in tears, Trying to open that back door as well.
Ryan
I mean, I probably would have been in tears, too, if I'd have saw it, you know, And I don't think it was a bear, either. I mean, I think bigfoot or sasquatch or whatever you want to call it. I think the creature that she saw Is what she saw. And so we. I was talking about my dogs not being there, and my dogs are usually always out with us, and actually, we'd put them inside, have, like, an australian shepherd and then, like, a german shepherd lab mix. And at that time, we had another dog as well. But, yeah, they were inside, and they weren't barking or going nuts or anything like that. Like, they see deer outside. Now it's dark, so obviously they're not going to see anything. But, like, in the daytime, like, after this happened, I. I just think this is odd. But every morning, I let them out. They beeline it, barking, Kind of down to that general area Past where the fire pit is, and they go into the woods. My dogs do every morning. And for the longest time, I would always be like, oh, they're chasing deer. I holler for them. They'll come right back. But then after this happened, I would always think When I let my dogs out, I'd be like, I wonder if they know something. I don't know, you know, like, they always go to that same spot, into the woods, barking, and then they'll come back, and they're fine. They're happy, they're not scared. But it's like, just kind of like their thing every Morning. So yeah, that kind of. After Emilyn had that, I thought about that and then I hear some things occasionally and. And then here recently, my wife's godparents were visiting and we kind of have like above our garage, like there's windows and you can look out into the woods and behind the garage, it's kind of like a, like a little apartment, you know, or whatever. Above our garage. And the windows in the back and the front, both sides. The front faces the field and the back faces the wood line. I have like a firewood pile behind it. My wife's godmother came in and was like, did you know, did Ryan put that deer skull in the tree by the, by the wood pile? And Jamie's like, what deer skull? Like, what are you talking about? And you know, she asked me about it and I was like, no. And I was like, can I been getting firewood over there. All went along. I never saw that. And so anyway, we went out and looked at it and it's just above my reach. I mean, I. If I stood on something, I. Like a log or stump or something, I could probably reach it, but if I'm just standing on the ground, I couldn't reach it. But it's this six point blanched white from the sun skull, but it's upside down and it's like in the oak tree. And it's like the little oak branches that are, the new growth that are starting are kind of like holding it in place, you know, like it was set there. Like it's just odd. But I have no clue how I got there. And then I thought, would, you know, would a bobcat drag it up there? But what a mountain lion. I mean, they say there's none in West Virginia. I don't know if there is or not. I've never seen one. I've had friends that have said they've seen them. I was like, is, you know, but there's no sign or scratch marks on the tree or the bark or, I don't know, just weird. And then like one time, maybe a week after that or two weeks after that, I was walking along the edge of the field with my dogs in the morning and my dog Stella was barking over by the woods and I went over there and there's like a, like a deer leg. But again, there's like no fur, no meat on it. It's just like the bones. But it's again up in a tree limb, like on the edge of the field. I'm like, why would there be a deer leg? Up in the tree. Right. I didn't. I never touched either one of them. They're still in the trees. I just leave them be.
Larry Dutton
Yeah, that is kind of weird. It's actually really weird. You know, when I was talking to Emilyn, she had brought up a time where she saw a light on the property. Have you ever seen the lights on the property that we talk about?
Ryan
You know, the orb. I don't know if it was an orb that I saw. May have been I saw something just very briefly. I came out onto my front porch one night to let the dogs out, and I don't have the lights on outside, and it's like, pretty stars and clear sky. But it was almost, like, right as I walked out and I kind of looked over to where the dogs always run. It's almost as much as, like, as quick as my brain registered. That is like, is that a light? It was gone. Like, it was not. It was almost like, because I ignore. Like, it's almost like that I perceived that it went out, if that makes any sense. And I don't know if it was or wasn't because it happened so fast. But I do remember being like, was that a flashlight? Was that a light? And then, of course, my dogs are out running around, and I hollered for them, and they came right back over. And I just kind of stood there. Never saw anything. I never hear anything. And I was like, I want to wonder what that was, you know? And I kind of walked over across the yard with the dogs in that general area and towards the hay field, and there's nothing over there, and no sounds, and I don't hear anybody talking. Like, we don't get a lot of trespassers. And not that I think somebody would be out there trespassing at night, but I guess they could. But I was just checking to make sure, and nothing. So I just went back over to the house, and really, the only time that I ever experienced that. And again, I don't know if it was an orb or not. It just was like a light. As quickly as I noticed that it was gone.
Larry Dutton
Yeah. I would be curious to know if those lights actually show back up. It sounds like you guys are out there all the time in the woods. And so I would imagine if they show up, you would see them. I asked your daughter what she thought sasquatch is. What's kind of your take?
Ryan
I don't know. I don't know. I think if the creature exists, which I do believe it does, maybe it's like a guardian or if it's, you know, can come and go, be seen, not seen, you know, obviously I think there's intelligence, high, high level intelligence that's there because, you know, from what my daughter experienced, I mean, it didn't make any sound. It was there and it was gone as quickly as it revealed itself. If that's the case, then that's, I mean, I can't do that. I'm. Like I said, I'm 63 and 2 10. And if I walk up in the woods, you're gonna hear me walking.
Larry Dutton
Yeah, you and me both, brother.
Ryan
You know, you're gonna, you're gonna hear the sticks and the leaves. I mean, even if I'm trying to be quiet, I mean I might, yeah, I could probably get close, but I don't know what it is. I don't know if it's terrestrial, like of the planet or non terrestrial, not from the planet. I guess I always say that it's the things that I see that are odd things. I just say, oh, it's a gift. So I kind of looking at it in a positive perspective and not a negative one. But yeah, I don't know, I don't know if it's an ape, I don't know if it's alien. I don't know if it's from this planet or not. The only thing I do know is that it's intelligent for sure.
Larry Dutton
Yeah, I would agree. Whatever they are, they're very intelligent. And be safe on that property. I would love to know if anything else happens, keep me up to date, will you?
Ryan
Yeah, for sure. I've, you know, I've got your email. If anything ever pops off or we see something or something else is, you know, experienced, I mean, I'll send you an email. I think, you know, we're out there, we spend a lot of time. Amlin has a dirt bike, she rides and you know, our dogs are out there. We'll go down to the creek, there's trout that you can fish down there. And we're in the woods and you know, Emily's not, you know, she goes in the woods still, like. And she'll go like the other day she went down to the creek, she goes by herself, she's like, just tells me where she's going. She's like, I'm gonna go down there and fishing. And she came back up, you know, with mud all over where she slipped and fell, you know, in, in the side of the bank, you know, but she's okay and I'm okay. And the little Oddities that are there. I just, like I said, I just say they're gifts and I smile about it and go on about my day.
Larry Dutton
Yeah, I think it's a good mindset and I understand your mindset. You know, kids sometimes pick up on our vibes and I like the fact that you, you're being positive about it and I really appreciate you and Emily coming on. I really enjoyed chatting with you guys.
Ryan
Hey, yo. Thank you very much and I appreciate. And it's good talking to you and I hope you have a great day. Okay.
Larry Dutton
You as well.
Taylor
Foreign.
Larry Dutton
Next up on the show, I want to welcome Taylor. Taylor, thanks for coming on.
Taylor
Yeah, thanks for having me on, Wes.
Larry Dutton
Yeah. And you and your husband had this camping trip on the Buffalo river there in Arkansas. I've had so many encounters come off that Buffalo River. Actually did a search on the website and it was a lot more episodes than I thought. If you would take me back to when you guys were on that river that whole camping trip, how long ago was this? Because I get the impression it's pretty recent. And if you would start from the very beginning, what were you guys doing and what happened?
Taylor
Yeah, so this, the incident or the encounter or whatever you want to call it that I emailed you about was actually just this past weekend. So just a few days ago. And I wasn't going to send you anything, but you had posted an episode on the day that I had this encounter on Saturday. And the guy Rick that you spoke with talked about how a lady had an encounter of a orb that had like maybe gone through the screen door or something like that. But they had gotten it tested the door and it had an astronomical amount of radiation. And then that lady had gotten sick a few days later with like flu like symptoms. And they asked her in the hospital if she had been exposed to any radiation. But that episode just resonated with me and I felt like just the a few things that are strange that had happened in mine and my husband's lifetime. So my husband and I were gonna go float the buffalo. It's beautiful time of year. It had just rained, so it was supposed to be optimal floating depths. And so we got the kayaks out and we start. We went on. It was going to be about a four to six hour float and we had already set up our camp and got it all ready so that way we could start at one point and then when we ended we would be at our campsite and it would already be ready to go. So we could just cook and hang out and all that. So it wasn't that long after we got into the kayak. We were in a tandem kayak, and there's bluffs everywhere. It's really beautiful. A lot of people that have never. That don't know a lot about Arkansas don't know. A lot of people think of it as, like, Little Colorado. We have a lot of mountains and hills and rivers, and it's stunning. So I was just taking it all in, and my husband was as well. We were just kind of, like, floating. We weren't really paddling or anything. And I glanced over and I saw these caves on the left side of us. And I was like, oh, that's cool. And I was telling my husband, oh, look at these caves over here. And then about that time, I see motion coming around this bluff towards the cave. And I look, and I'm like, oh, look, there's people hiking up there. That's cool. Which I'll say it's not abnormal. And the area we were floating for, there to be people hiking along certain bluffs, because there are a lot of trails in that area. And I look back at my husband, to tap on him, to be like, look at this. And as I glance over and I'm trying to find the cave again so I can point at it, and the people that I think at that point are hiking, I see. I notice they're all brown. Like, I mean, it's not to say people wouldn't wear all brown, especially if you're hiking. But I'm like, they're both all brown. And then my husband is still just in this moment doing his own thing, But I'm looking at him, and I'm like, look, look. And one of them was bigger, like an adult size. And the other one was. It looked like preteen, maybe a younger teenage age. And the older one looked like it was ushering the younger one. Like, get in. Kind of like you would your kids in the car. Like, you kind of put your arm around them and kind of guide them. Like, come on, let's get in. Hurry on now. And I noticed as it was doing this, it turned its whole body and looked over its shoulder at the river. And as soon as it turned around, it just kind of like, assured the smaller one into the cave. And I glanced over my shoulder to see if my husband was looking, and I was like, look at that cave right there. And I'm pointing because, you know, you feel like all this is happening and it's forever, but it's really, like, maybe 20 seconds or less. But so I'm pointing, like, look over there. And they're gone in the cave by the time he sees it. So, honestly, it was a really short encounter. It was at the beginning of our float. So, I mean, we still had, like, four or five more hours left. So I kind of brushed it off. And I was like, you know, maybe I feel like I just saw bigfoot. You know, I'm really excited, But I wish you would have seen it to confirm. I'm not crazy, number one, but number two, you know, so you could have seen it, too. So I was just brushing it off, and as I'm. We're floating, I mean, we have several hours on the river, and I'm just sitting there thinking kind of, like, a lot. I've heard several other people say you go through Almost like a rolodex of things in your brain. Like, what could this be? You know, like, it could be a bear. No, bears can't walk that effortlessly up on two feet. And I did originally think they were people. And then I'm like, they wouldn't all be all brown like that. And then as I'm going back through the encounter in my brain, I'm realizing the height that they were up. An average human would not look that large. Especially, like, the one that looked to be younger. He would not look that large at that distance. So I was like, okay, you know, maybe that was legit. Maybe that was sasquatch or whatever. You know, we just kind of brush it off. We floated the rest of the way. We had a great time. We stopped off a few times and hiked around, you know, just doing the normal float thing. We got out of our kayaks when we got back and went to camp and grilled some food. I'm not much of a drinker, but we had a very rare occasion. Of camping without our children. We have four kids from seven to their 20s. So, you know, we were just gonna enjoy A little adult beverage with our meal, Nothing crazy. And I'll say my husband and I ate the same things, and he wasn't sick. I say that to say I did get sick that night, but the way it happened was just strange. We were sleeping, and, I mean, we were out cold because we were worn out, you know, that whole being out on the river for several hours. So we had passed out pretty hard. And it was. It was in the 70s during the day, but in the evening, it fell down into, like, the low 40s. I think it was like, 41 or 42 that night. And so we were all Bundled up in our sub zero sleeping bag. And I was just abruptly woken up, and I was just shaking uncontrollably. And about the time I woke up, my husband noticed it too, and he thought I was cold. So he just pulled me closer to try to help me get a little bit more warm. And he was, like, asked me if I was okay. And I said, I'm okay. I just feel like my nervous system is overwhelmed, if that makes sense. I don't really know what that means. And then he was like, okay, well, just try to go back to sleep. Maybe you'll feel better. And about that time, I just all of a sudden felt violently ill. Like, I had to step out of the tent. And, I mean, I vomited. And I was kind of embarrassed because where we had set up our tent, it was a primitive camping area, but there was other tents kind of close to us. I was like, oh, they're listening to me throw up, whatever. So I get back in the tent, and I'm just laying there. And I had noticed when I was in there before, feeling a little sick, that there was this really bright light kind of hovering above the tent. And it was a full moon that night, so I just assumed it was the full moon just beaming in. I wasn't really paying attention. But when I had gotten back in there after I got sick, I realized that where the moon should have been at that time was on the opposite side of the tent to where this light was that I was seeing. And I remembered when I was out there, it was really dark, and there was. I remembered thinking I couldn't really see where I was getting sick, and I didn't. I wanted to make sure I wasn't getting too close to our tent. But I remember thinking there wasn't anyone's lanterns. There weren't any fires going. So I thought this was odd. And I tried to go back to sleep. I was in and out of consciousness for probably four or five hours that night. Every time I noticed this glowing. It was like a white blue light or glowing through the tent, and it was hovering, but I could see it moving slightly. It was like, stay in one position and slowly move. And I was just kind of watching it, and I'm like, what is this? I've got to look at this when I get outside of the tent. After, like, the fourth or fifth time I got sick, I decided that I had this bucket. I would just use that instead of getting in and out and doing the zipper. And as I was getting sick, one of the times I happened to glance up, because I was looking for a paper towel to wipe my face. And I actually saw the orb through the mesh part of the tent on the top, and it was just hovering above me. And I was just, like, thinking in my head, I don't want to deal with this right now. This is not an experience. I'm really sick. I just. I was just begging the universe, or creator or whatever your belief is. I was just like, please help me. I don't want to be sick anymore. I wanted a view of this light, of whatever it was, this orb. But when I did see it through the tent, I felt like I got more sick. And then when I saw it through the mesh, the top of the tent, I did get sick at that moment. And then I was kind of trying to go to sleep, and I did eventually, like, roll over or something. And I opened my eyes and looked out of the top of the tent and around the sides of the tent from the inside where I was laying, and I could no longer see the light anymore. And I was like, that's strange. And I wasn't about to get out and investigate Because I still wasn't feeling well, But I could still see the moonlight, But I couldn't see this other light. And then, like I said, it just seemed to be gone. And then I was finally able to fall asleep, and I didn't feel sick anymore. And my husband woke up the next morning, and he was like, girl, what was that? Like, what happened? You didn't drink much. Like, you know what happened? And I was like, I don't know. I was like, I mean, I know we got hot and, you know, maybe a little sun cooked, But I made sure that. I mean, I drink coconut water. Water throughout the day. We did have a little bit of alcohol, But, I mean, it really wasn't that much. It was maybe like, one drink. A drink and a half, Just enough to kind of celebrate. And he agreed. He's like, I've seen you slam three times more liquor than anything you would have anything remotely close to what you could have had in a little mixed drink today. And he was like, I don't. I don't know. We ate the same things. That was weird. And I was like, well, I didn't tell him. I'm like, the only thing that was different with you than me Is this weird or. But I didn't want to sound crazy, I guess, Because I had already been like, oh, look, I think I just. I just saw bigfoot. Even though he does believe, but, you know, you just even in those moments, you don't want to feel like you're fabricating something or maybe your mind was playing tricks on you, but. So that was pretty much it for that experience.
Larry Dutton
Yeah. That's interesting. You would have thought both of you would have been sick, but you didn't tell him about the light until the next day.
Taylor
Yeah, I told him in the car on the next day, on the way home, because I didn't want to sound weird, but I was like, you know, I saw this orb, and it, like, as soon as I saw that orb, I started getting. That was when I got really sick. And I was like, I don't know if it's related to what happened earlier. If it's. I don't know what it was, but I'm like, I'm telling you, as soon as this orb went away, I wasn't sick anymore. And it just seemed to hover over the tent for several hours. And like I said, I could see it moving slightly. It wasn't fast. It was really slow. As soon as I noticed the light, the orb was gone. The feeling, the sickness was gone. And that was just really strange for me.
Larry Dutton
What do you think that light was?
Taylor
I'm not sure. I've heard other people on your show talk about different colors of, like, floating orbs. And like I said, that's kind of what resonated with me, was I. I just thought this was just a really weird weekend or something. But then I heard of that lady that also had seen an orb, and she got sick within a week of that. And I just thought that that was kind of a crazy coincidence. Like I said, it just resonated with me, and I thought maybe it did have something to do with it. Yeah.
Larry Dutton
Usually hear of people getting sick when they approach it, but I guess in all fairness, I mean, it was right above your head, above the screen on the tent. I'm glad it was temporary, whether the sickness was related to the light or not. And going back for a moment, of the two people, the two individuals that you thought were people, when you think about that moment, beyond being brown from head to toe, was there anything about their appearance that makes you think, now there's no way that was people?
Taylor
I kind of went through my head like I had said about, you know, what different animals. I'm. We're very well versed in the outdoors. We've hunted everything from squirrels to elk, so we're very well versed in nature. But, you know, I was going through my mind, we do have bears, but they're not I mean, they've been become more prevalent in the last few years than, than they were in the last probably 40 or 50. But they're not going to be out in an area that populated, knowing that people are there. But that was also a weird thing for me was where we got in was a very populated area, very popular area for people to go in and like I said, hike all these different things. But I thought it was strange that I saw something at that time of day.
Emilyn
But.
Taylor
But also when I had put in my email to you also, I realized we know that area pretty well. And where I saw these creatures, there's not a trail over there. Even before I realized this could be something weird, I was like, how did they even get up there? I mean, you're not just going to climb straight up that bluff from the river and there's not an area where you can get down from there. And then I also. And I was kind of replaying everything in my head as, like, as the day went on and just trying to think about what I saw. I realized that as this thing looked over its shoulder, the older one, it didn't turn its head. It moved its whole upper body and its arm when it went back to usher its kid, like where it or its young one, where it wanted it to go. When its arm came closer to its body, it was way longer than the average human their arm would be.
Larry Dutton
Yeah, I think our brains sometimes fool us. And I can tell you from experience of talking with hunters and mainly hunters is where I get it from, where they'll say they saw some weird bear or they saw this very large guy. And as they're describing it, you're like, that doesn't sound like a bear, and that doesn't sound like a guy. And I think our brains do that. I think in our guts we know there's something wrong here. And I'm telling you that Buffalo river, especially the lower section of that Buffalo River, I've interviewed so many people that have had encounters right there. The light thing, though, is weird. I really appreciate sharing that. I know in your email you talked about your grandmother's place. Tell me what's going on there.
Taylor
Yes. So her house is actually pretty close to Little Rock, Arkansas. It's only about 10 minutes out of the city of Little Rock, but it's in an area that's very outskirts and secluded, even though it is in central Arkansas. And she lives on 10 acres. It's very wooded. There's. It's pretty much untouched land. She lives in technically a neighborhood but by neighborhood, it's like everybody in this area lives on about anywhere from three to, like, 20 acres. So the houses aren't very close. It's a lot of woods. So one evening, my grandmother called me. And she's in her 70s, but she's still, I mean, pretty with it, you know, way more than a lot of people even younger than her. But she said. She called me when we still lived in Texas, and she said, I don't know what it was. I don't know if it was a ufo. I don't. I don't have even any kind of explanation I could give for the sound I just heard. But it sounded like something just ran through the front of my yard, which there. I will say it's a gravel road in front of her yard that just goes to the different houses in this neighborhood. It's a very steep hill, and you can't go fast down it because it is steep. But she said it sounded like something went 100 miles an hour or faster down that road.
Ryan
And.
Taylor
And it sounded like a freight train. Like nothing I know that exists could go that fast down that road. She told me that. And then she called me maybe six months later and told me she heard it again. And this is my. The home where I grew up. My grandmother raised me, and so she has several rooms. And so we would stay there when we were living in other states. And we've heard some crazy things there, too. My husband likes to play too much and always say, we're gonna go bigfoot hunting and all this stuff. And he let out a big whoop one evening after we had finished unloading the car. We got there around 9 or 10 o' clock in that evening after traveling all day. And he thought it would be funny to let out a whoop. And we, as soon as he did, he got one back. And we all looked at each other and we were like, nervous laugh. And then after that, we heard the most gut wrenching, like you feel it in your chest scream. And we all looked at each other, closed the trunk, and ran at my grandma's house because we didn't want to extend that any further. It was scary.
Larry Dutton
Yeah, that's really interesting. The first vocal that she heard where she's describing it going like 100 miles an hour. Did she describe what she was hearing?
Taylor
All she said was she just heard something so loud, and the way that it moved in the speed it moved, it just didn't sound like anything that we know of that could make that sound in that part of the where she lives, if that makes sense.
Larry Dutton
Yeah, definitely sounds like they might be on the property. Especially with your husband, you know, doing a whoop call or doing a vocalization, and one comes right back at him. It's unnerving. I know you guys were visiting, but you said your grandmother kind of raised you growing up there. Was there anything odd or strange that happened? And what. How do you think your grandmother would respond to the whole topic of sasquatch?
Taylor
She would probably. I mean, we have, like, sasquatch stuff all over our house and all this stuff, you know, just kind of like. I like a lot of people around here. It's almost like folklore, but, you know, we kind of embrace it. No one really knows. I don't think she's ever seen anything, but I know she's heard weird things. She grew up on a farm. I do know she doesn't like to be outside at dark very much. When in the country, she always. She has a doggy door, and she locks her dogs in at night because she says she doesn't want anything to try to come in or. Which, I mean, that's fair. There's a lot of, you know, bobcats, and there's different wildlife out there, but she doesn't. She's not one to go on evening walks or anything. And we're also hunters. We've had several very, very scary experiences on the deer stand as well. Mostly just vocalizations, but like I said, I'm 5ft tall, 120 pounds, and so I'm not gonna lie. Yes, I get. I'm absolutely scared walking to the deer stand by myself when it's dark in the morning. But one morning, I was sitting in my deer stand, and. And I will preface this with, yes, I know what a bobcat sounds like. I know what, you know, different wildlife sounds like. It's. I've been. I was raised in the woods, but I heard the most. The scariest thing I've ever heard in my life in the woods. It didn't hit your chest like the other sound, but it was. It sounded like. The only thing I can compare it to is a monster giving birth because it sounded like a woman screaming out in pain. But the way that it traveled, no human could make a sound that loud. And, I mean, I don't. I can't say what it was, but I can say it was the scariest sound I'd ever heard. And I didn't want to move. I didn't want to do anything, but I didn't want to be out there by myself. My husband was like two miles away in his deer stand. And so, you know, those experiences, I try not to think about them because I'm always going to be in the woods. But I try. I. I just try to be appropriately cautious in the woods. And if something's off, you probably need to get out of there.
Larry Dutton
Yeah. Let me know if anything happens there at your grandmother's place or where you're hunting in the area. Hopefully nothing comes of it, but I would love to know if anything else happens. I ask everyone on the show, what do you think Sasquatch is? What do you think it is?
Taylor
So to me, I think it is some sort of, like, spiritual flesh and blood hybrid. I'm not totally sure, but that's my input.
Larry Dutton
Yeah, you kind of. You kind of threw everything in there. I like it. What's your take on the lights? What do you think the lights are?
Taylor
I don't know. I've heard a lot of people say they've seen the lights during or even after their encounters. So I think they could be related. Maybe some sort of travel form of travel for them.
Larry Dutton
Yeah, it could be. It could be. Not the first time I've heard that, Taylor. It's all kind of a mystery. It's hard to know what Sasquatch is. It's hard to know what these weird balls of light are. But I really appreciate you taking the time to come on. I enjoyed chatting with you.
Taylor
Yeah, absolutely. Thanks for having me on.
Larry Dutton
Thanks again. And that's it for tonight, everyone. Remember, if you've had an encounter, shoot me an email. My email address is wesasquatchchronicles.com and if you get a chance, check out sasquatch chronicles.com you can become a member and get additional shows. Until next time, everyone.
