Witness 1
It looked like somebody was bent over and had their head in the window of the deer blind. And it either heard me or smelt me. And he pulled his head out of the tent and stood straight up. And that, that shocked me. They don't make people that. That big.
Witness 2
The way moved almost as if it was gliding across the beach. I've never seen anything move like that in my life. They were screaming at each other in gibberish. It sounded like a language. And they were chuntering away, back and forwards, back and forwards, back and forwards. I know what a bear looks like and there is no way on this planet that what I saw were bears.

This is Blair coming to you from Delaw Monica, Georgia, the home of the first gold rush. And you're listening to the best podcast in the world, Sasquatch Chronicles. Welcome to the show everyone. Thanks for being here tonight. Got a great show planned for you. We're going to be chatting with Nathaniel and Nathaniel comes to us from Kentucky. Back in 2024, he was out there hunting and he came across this creature. It's not a Sasquatch and it's a fascinating account because before Nathaniel actually saw the creature, the property next to where he was hunting, the owner of that property had actually seen the creature and it was heading towards Nathaniel and I'll let him go into it. If you've had an encounter and you'd like to be on the show, shoot me an email. My email address is wesasquatchchronicles.com and if you get a chance, check out sasquatch chronicles.com you can become a member and get additional shows. Let's jump into it tonight. I want to welcome Nathaniel to the show. Nathaniel, thanks for coming on.

Thank you for having us.

Yeah. And I know that we're going to talk about this encounter that happened to you in 2024 out there in Kentucky, along with a few other weird things that have happened in the same area. If you would, would you take me back to 2024? Obviously you were hunting. Kind of walk me into what happened.
Nathaniel
I'm a college student in Kentucky and I'm typically in the woods about four to five days a week hunting. And I'm mainly a bow hunter because other clans around here, you're not allowed to use modern Firearms. So I only bow hunt. And for context, which you'll learn later, I never have carried a pistol on me ever, until now, obviously. So I'm just in there with my bow and kind of vulnerable. So this is the fall of 24 and this is about late November, right at the end of modern gun season for Kentucky. And I've been chasing a big buck in an area that I knew of. And I decided to try an area that the day before I spooked him and I missed a shot on him. So I tried to go to an area where I thought he might go to as a safety area. This is an area that I've never been booked to before. And I knew it was going to be a hike because whenever I have public land myself, I typically walk in about an hour or so, sometimes a mile, sometimes two, sometimes half a mile. It's just really tough terrain because some people refer to them as hollers or ridges out here near Appalachia. And it's a really. There's a lot of really steep inclines. And I typically climb basically really steep ridges for you to crawl on all fours a lot of times and just pull yourself. Pull yourself up of trees, holding on to trees. And this specific area, I was doing that and I had a walk. It was about. It took me about an hour. So I got this public land. I got the class early that day and I decided to go to this public land that I always hunt near my college. And I walked. I got there about 2 o'. Clock. It took me about an hour or so to walk in. And by the time I got to the top of this ridge, I didn't necessarily like it because the wind was starting to change on me. So I decided to go down to this holler that was right next to it. It's a really deep holler. Never been to this area before in my life. So I was very interested to see this would go. And I get down to this very. Just kind of a. There's a bottom. Basically. It wasn't like a big creek bottom. It was kind of just a real typical holler bottom. I set up right on next to the creek. I found a good tree and put my climber stand on it. And I got about 20ft in the air. And after finally getting settled down about. I sat there about five, 10 minutes. And usually I always see squirrels and raccoons, sometimes towards lower light. But I was set up about 4, 4:30 in the afternoon. So it was really, really visible out. Like you would see in the middle of the day and it was not much foliage so I could see really good through the timber lines and everywhere around me. And the way I was facing, if you imagine a V, I was at the very opening of the V, looking out towards the main river valley where I was hunting. And as I was sitting there, I sat there for about a few more minutes and I noticed that this whole area, this seemed dead all of a sudden. Like there was no movement, there's no squirrels, no birds. I mean I've never, I've never seen that personally before happen. And I thought it was kind of weird. My guard kind of went a little up and I was like thinking this is a little weird. But didn't think anything of it. I tried to ignore it, just saying, oh, it's just because of the wind or something. Just trying to rationalize it obviously. And as I sat there, I heard what I can only describe as two wood knocks. Like just a piece of wood, like pretty solid piece of wood hitting a tree, like bam, bam. And I was. And I was thinking to myself, oh, I just heard a wood knock. Because I've grown up listening to your show Wes, obviously and since 2019 and I've watched Finding Bigfoot, Expedition Bigfoot and all that sort of thing. And I was like, oh, I just heard a wood knock. Haha. Like kind of joking to myself. And about 30 seconds later, I look over to my left, which is if I'm facing at 12 o' clock to about 10 o' clock and I look over 10 o' clock and I see this figure. I didn't know what the time it was. I see a bipedal figure and it was black. I could tell it was, it was bipedal, humanoid shaped. And I thought instantly I was like, oh shoot, there's another hunter walking up on me. Dad gum it. Like I didn't. I was like, well there goes this hunt. I'll probably talk to him and I'll probably just head out and talk to him. But I. So I sat there and about like this has all happened in a matter of 15 seconds. I thought that. And it was about probably 80 to 100 yards out where I saw this and it was through timber. So I kind of. People, obviously people know when they see somebody or something walk through the timber, you kind of see like just flashes of it kind of. And it had like, like I was like a, like a walker's stance. It was. But I noticed one thing towards the top of it though. It had kind of a hunchback, Not a hunchback but like it seemed like towards the neck area it was like more round, like taka round topish, if that makes sense. Like it was weird. It that kind of stood out to me at first. I was like, that's a weird looking back deck. And I didn't think anything of it for a second and then obviously thought it was just another hunter because I've been walked up on many times hunting public land. So I didn't think anything of it. And so I look around, scan my area because I thought because I noticed something. I didn't not hear this thing once when I watched that. So I kind of looked around trying to see if there's still anything else, like a deer or something, see if he's going to spook anything. And I look back directly at 12 o' clock and about 50, maybe 40, 50 yards away I saw what I can only describe as I thought at first was a giant wolf. And I was like, what in the world is that? Like I'm in Kentucky, I'm not supposed to be seeing a wolf. And this thing was big. And to clarify, this thing when I saw it now was on all fours in a crash position as like as you see most wolves. And it was, at first I saw it and it was just jet black, like black as midnight. It was the strangest thing. I've seen black wolves before in zoos and I've watched National Geographic and this thing was like darker than them. It was just black. Like black is like car tires. It was creepy. And I started just kind of scanning this thing over and this all happened within a few seconds. I just started, I scanned it. I was like just looking at it. And this at this point it was on for all fours. But when I first saw it, like I looked over, it looked like it hopped down to all fours, if that makes sense. Like you catch it like right when, like if you're sitting near somebody, like you catch them like right when they sit down. That's what it looked like. If that motion, like it just finally got on all fours and it was all four. It was on all fours when I had this whole rest of this encounter when I was able to physically see it. And it was in a crouched position position like a, like a coyote or a wolf doing a stalk. Like it was real low to the ground and it was going right to a cedar tree. It was in the direction of it was walking or stalking in this instance I think now it was going towards a cedar tree thicket where I knew a deer bedding area was and it was facing its right side, was facing me, going towards that, going from my left to my right. And I was. It was looking at. I was seeing its right side and it was in a cross position, as I said. And it was walking, stalking, I know now, and was looking directly at me the whole time. It. I saw this. And it's. Eventually I saw the eyes and the upper body of it. And what really stood out to me as somebody on the show, I won't say names just for his sake. Well, not names, but episodes. But a biologist said on your show once that the ear stood out the most. And that also stood out to me the most instantly because I never heard that encounter that he talked about until probably two weeks before I contacted us. I did not hear about that. And I noticed the ears were like super sharp. Like there was no bend, just like insanely sharp, like a bobcat. And it was kind of. That's what weirded me out the most really quick because I didn't see how I knew this. This wolf thing I was looking at was really long, but I didn't know how tall it was, like on the. Its shoulder height. And I noticed the ear. That's what really freaked me out. I was like, that is not a coyote. That's not a melanistic coyote. That's not a wolf. What is this? And it just kind of was stalking and it was kind of coming my way, like at a diagonal. Like, it was. Never shook its eyes off me. It was. Its eyes are real wide, but they were like black. I could just barely. It was close enough where I could see the eyes, like the. The whiteness behind the pupils. I guess people can. You can say. And I just saw it, like when it turned, it looked around at something. Like it looked behind. It looked like something was following it or was supposed to be following it. And I saw that and it probably was going to crash position and stopped between for about 10 yards. And this whole encounter probably lasted about two minutes. It was just super slowly walking into the cedar shift ticket. And this whole time I had a bow in my hand. It was at 50 yards. I was just in shock and I could not believe what I was seeing. And I sat there watching it. I didn't. I didn't think to put my phone out or anything. I was just like frozen. I feel like if I was going to move this thing was. I didn't know what it was going to do. And I sat there and watched it. And it just eventually made its way after slowly just moving, like just Inching like a. You see a coyote or a wolf do when they're in stock. And right when I got to this edge of the cedar tree thicket, and the cedar tree thing gets really thick because I walked through part of it. And you can maybe see five feet in front of you in this thing because it's a lot of undergrowth. A lot of. Used to be an old field, I think, from. They used to farm it. And it was just really thick undergrowth, and you couldn't see. It's like a wall. And right when this thing got to the edge of the cedar too thicket, it was almost like. You know how when you're sitting for a long time, you have to, like, roll your shoulders back. This thing kind of stood. Like, not stood, but it, like, raised up while it was still on all fours. It was still on all fours this whole time that I saw it. And it, like, raised its shoulders back and it kind of straightened up to where this thing I thought was, like, just really, like, not that big. This thing was over three. Over three foot easily at the. At its top of its shoulder. And it was on all fours. And I was like, oh, my. That is. That's big. That's not good. I don't like this. And right when I got to the edge of the sea tree circuit, like, right when it was getting into it, I saw it kind of like. I saw his back get straight. Like, it stood up. And I was. And that's when I finally lost sight of it. And after that, I was like, nope, I'm done. I am out of here. I don't like this. I. I was just done. I didn't want anything to do with this. And as soon as that. As soon as that happened, I kind of stood there for a second shock in my climber stand. And I instantly called my parents. I was like, hey, something's wrong. I don't like this. I didn't tell them what it was at first or anything. I was like, I just saw something. It's not natural. I don't like this. I don't feel safe. We're getting out of here. So I called them. I told them that, and I started. I got all my gear ready, and I climbed down as quick as I could. And as soon as I started walking, I got on the phone with them, like, hey, this is my location. This is what I'm doing. I'm walking out of here. I'm getting out here as quick as I can. Something's not right. I'm not alone. And I told him that. And so I instantly booked to the top of the ridge where this thing came from, going the opposite direction. So I got on top of that. I got about two thirds up this ridge and stopped to get a vantage point and look behind me. So this thing was following me. See if it looked back there, see this, if I could see anything. And right when I stopped from the direction this thing went, I heard.

What.
Nathaniel
It's kind of hard to describe. It's like. I don't know how far. Some people describe this as a woman's scream, but this thing. I've heard bobcats. I've. I've hunted around bobcats and coyotes and fox a lot my life. I've been around them all. I've heard everything you can pretty much think of in Kentucky. This thing was really scary because it was like a woman's scream. But if it was super deep, if that makes sense, like it was super deep, like a yell, almost like it was yelling at me. And it had, like a shrill to it right at the end. And after thinking about it, it almost seems like a howl now, to know it sounds kind of weird and confusing and crazy, as most people will say. Most people think that probably, but that's the only way I can describe it. And I was on the phone with my mom at the time when this. When that. That scream happened. And they even heard it, they're like, what is that? I was like, I don't know. I'm getting out of here. I don't. I'm out. I don't like this. So then what? Took me about an hour, hour and 15, really, to walk into this place. I ran the whole way back carrying a climber stand on my back, a backpack and my bow and a knife in my hand. That took me about 30 minutes to walk, to run out of there. And so I was running over. I was running through creek, through creeks, over a ridge, another ridge across. I ran all the way up the ridge and down through creeks, and I just threw everything in my truck and just. I just peeled out of there. I didn't want anything to do with it, and I didn't say a word about this to anybody for probably two days. I didn't even tell my parents until I think I got home from college, which is two weeks later, because this was near finals. So I didn't tell them since. Until I got home from finals, what it really was. So that was probably the. That was the end of the first encounter, thankfully.
Host Blair
What did your parents say?
Nathaniel
Well, I grew. I. I'VE grown up and I'm myself, I'm a Christian. I've grown up in a Christian household my whole life. And I told my mom, who's a preacher's kid, and she said that. First thing I told her, she's like, that's got to be demonic. And I was like, it was, it was like alive. It was right there. It was like. I mean there was no. It looks physical in the way it acted. But she just thought. My parents thought just they look, well, it's probably demonic. Just try to ignore it and just don't think about it. And I was like, okay. I just, I. I don't really know. It was just kind of crazy. And I talked to one of my roommates, which is this. I don't think I told you. This was. Actually I talked to my roommate who I hunt with a lot. Me and him hunt a lot. But he has a private property, hunts. And I measured it. It was a mile and a half exactly from where I was as a crow flies. And he was hunting that same time of night. And this thing came from actually the same direction he came. Like he was. His farm's at. He hunts and he hunts. Well, I'll say farm, but really it's just a thick woodland that this farmer lets him hunt since he can't farm it or anything. So he lets him hunt it, he leases it. And this wolf thing, I say the dog man looking thing came directly from that direction. He was. And I saw this thing at around 4:30, 4:45. He said that when he was hunting, he said that the wood was really full of life. He said there's squirrels everywhere. And all of a sudden at around 4, 4:15, he said the woods just went dead silent for only a few minutes. He said that. He said he had a feeling of like dread. He's like. Because this guy, he's probably one of the bravest guys I know. He. He carries. And he said that's the first time I've ever pulled a gun. He's like. I was like, why? He's like, I don't know. He said, I did not feel safe for once. And I was, I was like, when did you see it? He said 4, 4 15. And he said all of a sudden he said for like five minutes. And all of a sudden the dread went away in his body. And all of a sudden the woods came alive again. So I don't know if that has any correlation. And I told, and I told him by my encounter. He said, you don't need to be hunting there anymore. And I was like, yeah, I'm not. So I did not have the rest of deer season. And as people from Kentucky, if they hear this, they know that deer season for Bo doesn't end until the end of January. I did not touch my bow. I didn't touch anything. Hunting for the rest of deer season. I didn't. Did not go into the woods again until probably the spring of 25 for turkey season. Which that concludes that first encounter.
Host Blair
It's really fascinating how you describe the behavior. And I almost think there was two things going on there. But I'll come back to that in a second. The wildlife biologist you mentioned, I believe that was episode 769 with Matt and he actually worked for the state. And I remember him talking about this wolf on his property, this enormous wolf on his property. And if my memory is right, he actually shot it with a 30 odd six. I mean you're talking 180 grain bullet traveling about 2900ft per second coming at you. And he watched the impact of the bullet and nothing didn't even seem to affect the creature. And you went to school to become a wildlife biologist, didn't you Nathaniel?
Nathaniel
Yes, I'm currently in school for wild biology and I studied wolves. Actually we studied in one of my classes for a month and a half solely on the. Because my teacher, my professor has a fascination with wolves. So we spent a whole month and a half on it. And I learned the anatomy of wolves. I learned pretty much everything you can think about wolves not a month before this. And that's what I think really scared me the most because I saw this and there was just some stuff that was. It was wolf like, but it was just if he could describe it as like a wolf on steroids. And I did not like that. And it was. I think it's what scared me the most is just. I know something wasn't right. Just kind of scary all around. It was one thing I forgot to tell you that this, it was what really freaked me out as well was like, you know how wolves, they're like, they're pretty, they got muscle on them. But like this thing I can like it's. Its fur was struck jet black, but I could see like definition that makes sense. Like it's hind legs were really big. I did see a tail, but it was not much of one. I could, I think I saw one. I just couldn't see it the way the angle was. It could have been more fur that was just kind of coming off. But I don't know about the tail for sure, but the hind legs were massive. Like, they were almost like a bodybuilder's legs. That makes sense. They were to where it's almost like that thing was able to walk on two legs. Like, you know how like some. Like, I'm trying to think because we learned about it in the class with the physiology of the animals and everything, how their muscles work. Like, you need strong muscles in the hind legs to be able to stand. Like dogs can't because they don't have as much strong rear muscles in their hind quarters. And I don't know the whole thing about it. Just my mind was going at 100 miles a minute and everything about it was just sand. Nope, nope, nope. I don't like this.
Host Blair
Yeah, what a spooked me. I think you handled it better than I would have. And you know, when I would get these reports of this dogman, none of it made sense to me when I very first heard it. Because like you were saying, dogs can't walk on two legs. They're not going to walk on their back legs. Like, my little Teddy will get up on two legs when he wants a treat or when he wants something from you, but it's not for very long. We're not going jogging together with him on two legs. Like you were saying, they're built for four legs. The way their spine, pelvis, the muscles, they're all shaped to run and jump on all fours. And canines carry most of their weight on their front legs. Their whole, like, center of gravity is too far forward for them to, like, stand up on their back legs and run around like a man. Being that you've studied this and you see this thing walking around on two legs and then have it go down to all fours. And at first you thought it was a man. What do you make of a canine getting up on two legs and walking around like a man from, like, a scientific point of view?
Nathaniel
Yeah, I don't know. It was honestly just confusion when I first saw it drop down because my mind was thinking, like, what? That doesn't. At first I thought I was like, there's no way I just saw that thing and this thing is related. Like, oh, maybe this coyote got scared by a human walking. Then I looked and I was like, wait a minute, that's not that far apart. That is the same thing. And my mom was honestly just in confusion until I started looking at this thing. And the more I looked at it, the more this kind of dread came over me, like. And when it Looked at me. It never made any facial expressions until like right when it got to the edge of the woods, like it was just kind of staring at me, like a staring contest. I never saw it blink once. Or I may have blinked and it may have done the same thing, but it was just staring at me. Like right when it got to the edge of the cedar tree thicket, it almost had a sense of where it looked, like it grinned, if that makes sense. Like a like scared you sort of deal. I think it was honestly more surprised to see me than anything because the first one it first saw me, it almost had like a, like, whoa, you're there. I first saw it because it was upwind of me. So it. I don't know if it ever smelled me at first. And it just saw me and it was like, oh, you're there, that's not good. And just kind of went back to like just kind of staring at me, trying to figure out what I was. I guess some people say like, what's your move? Like make your move, let's see how this goes. And yeah, a lot of this honestly was just dread. And I did not, I did not like that because it kind of seeing that kind of just broke every logical like thought and experience I've ever had. So I was just a confusion and just feel the dread when I saw it. It was just scary. That's all I can describe it. Just scary and did not like it.
Host Blair
You know, I used to be a hunter, a rifle hunter. I've never been a bow hunter. It was never my thing. And most non bow hunters probably won't like me saying this, but bowhunters are like ghosts. I've come across two. And the only reason I knew they were there is they made their presence known. I probably would have never seen them. Well, they really are like ghosts in the forest. And this thing seemed to kind of zero in exactly where you were at. What do you make of that?
Nathaniel
I don't know exactly. It's because I was there was no. I don't know how he couldn't skyline me unless he saw me from a previous standpoint. He was that. But I was facing towards him. So my tree stand was in line. But he may the only way I can, like, I mean, I was pretty well hidden. I mean I had camo obviously on and it's bottom lane camo, which I hunt a lot of bottoms. So it's almost identical to oak trees. And it's. I don't know, it's just strange. It's like it's almost instant. He just picked me out and just instantly locked onto me. And it was. Maybe the wind could have swirled and he just instantly smelled me. But I was really well hidden because I. As I was walking out, I looked at my tree thinking, how did he just do that? Like, how did it know I was there? And I was. I was behind another tree, basically where tree had a branch going and I climbed just to where I could get above that so I could cut a chute. And if I had a deer come by, I could get the full draw without being seen. And my only thing is, I guess it could have. It may see in black and white like some dogs do or not black and white, but like. Like some animals in the animal kingdom don't see in colors to where. Like I've known marine animals. They can see in basically black and whites where octopus octopi. Sorry are Actually does not matter if they camouflage. They see right exactly where they're at. And it almost makes me wonder if it was that sort of deal that it just instantly knew where I was because my camo or this. This figuration. The tree line that he just kind of picked up on. And I think I maybe moved a little bit when I saw me. I kind of like jumped. Like, what is that? I think it maybe saw me when I did that.
Host Blair
It seems like this creature, whatever it is, seems to be able to really zero in on where people are at. It's moving in on you. What do you think its intention was and why do you think it backed off all of a sudden?
Nathaniel
I think I was not the original target, really. I don't think it knew or thought I was there. I think it was honestly stalking a deer herd that was in a bedding area just about 150 yards to my right. My front right about probably 3 o'.
911 Operator
Clock.
Nathaniel
And it was moving towards that bedding area. I think it was mainly focused on them. But then it saw me and it's like. I think it was just kind of like, what are you doing there? Like, it kind of locked onto me from. I think it locked onto me for a minute because it was trying to figure out is this dude worth it, is this guy, what's he gonna do? But then it kind of. I think it. I kind of turned my bow where it saw that and he was like. I guess that's when he kind of changed where he's like. He kind of got less focused on me. Like they're not worth it. And it's kind of more focused on those Deer. And that's when he was like right at the edge of the two here they get when he kind of stood up. And I don't know, I think it's only way I can really describe it.
Host Blair
Yeah, I think you described it well, in my opinion. I think there was probably two things going on there. And again, this is my opinion. So kind of just take it as that people in the big four world will say that these canine, these upright, these dogmen and Sasquatch don't get along. I don't believe that for two seconds. I think not only do they get along, I think they work together. The wood knocks you heard, I don't believe came from this canine creature that you saw it getting distracted and kind of backing off away from you. I think was probably a Sasquatch. The scream that you later heard, I don't think came from that canine creature. But I could be wrong. I know you talked about how big this creature was compared to you. How. How much bigger was this thing than you?
Nathaniel
I'm six three and like around 190 sometimes. Like at this time I was 195. I'm a weightlifter. I'm a decently sized guy. And this thing, probably if I was standing next to it, it shoulder probably it was easily taller than me when it was on all fours. Like not all fours, but it's bipedal. It towered me probably. I bet it was probably seven foot because I went right past where that thing walked through and I saw the branch that it passed and I had to look up at it. So it was probably around 7 foot, I assume when it's standing up. But if it was on all fours, it probably was around almost chest, like not above weight between my waist and my chest probably is where I have to guess. But it was just kind of. It was beefy, but it was again, it was just kind of wolf. Like it was really kind of like lean. That makes sense. It was. It had muscle but it was lean, if that makes sense. It was. It's very strange. I don't know. It's very strange. There's a lot of things that just kept me confused about it. Even to this day I'm confused about it.
Host Blair
Yeah. And I could understand why. I wanted to ask you, you know, one thing that gets reported with Dogman and Sasquatch is the force going quiet. And I've experienced it and it's really hard to explain without it sounding like nonsense. And I understand, you know, when a predator is nearby, prey will be Quiet. But the insects don't shut off. I can name like 10 other things that don't shut off. The wind doesn't shut off. And even that guy on the property that had seen the creature 15 minutes before you saw it, he described the same thing. The forest just going dead silent. You being an experienced guy out there, what do you make of that? Of the forest just going quiet?
Nathaniel
I don't know because I've. I've heard of hunters talking about that before and people talking about that. I've heard guys around me. I've never personally seen that, but I always heard that. And it was kind of instinct when I heard the insect shut off, like. Because you know how like we have like dyslexicated sometimes even then that late we still have some. And there's just. There's stuff making noise. And I knew when it was dead silent, I knew something was completely wrong. And it was kind of like an instinct. It was like I was like, that's. That's not right. Everything about it was just not right. And I think mainly when that happens, it's just like I don't. Because biologically, I mean, I've obviously prey goes silent, but as you said, like pray goes silent, but it's just. It doesn't make sense that everything goes quiet. I mean, from a biological standpoint, my scientific stuff, I mean, it just. It just. Yeah, it doesn't seem natural. That's like. It's like, I guess like the. Simply we can say like the head honchos rolling through that ain't. It's like when a gunslinger walks through the Wild west, like everybody kind of hides. It's kind of what I can relate it to.
Host Blair
Yeah, that. That's actually a pretty good analogy. It's like Doc Holliday rolling into a bar. All of a sudden everyone's on their best behavior. You know, I know when you talk to your mom, she said that she thought it was a demon, which she may not be wrong. I used to think spiritual things couldn't be physical, but I don't really believe that anymore. What do you think this dogman is?
Nathaniel
At first I thought, honestly it was not trying to talk conspiracy theorist, but I thought something government did something weird and escaped or something like that. Because I mean we're not too far from military bases and so forth. I mean they can easily cover ground. That's what I thought more. So just like as a natural thing that just got. Evolution just kind of went crazy with. But then I kind of had three different thinking. I thought that at first. And then I was like, well, maybe this thing was like something they talk about in the Old Testament. Like something like Christopher Columbus. I've heard people talk about that. Like, I think you actually mentioned that in your show, maybe. Or some people have Christopher Columbus talking about it. And Marco Polo. I think somebody said, mentioned that, like, they see these wolf men, like, kind of deal. Like, what is. I forgot the name. The Egyptian. The Egyptian sense. I thought it was like one of those deals where I thought it's just like an ancient evolutionary thing. And. But now the more I'm looking at it, the more I lean towards the demonic side that just. That can come, like, more physical, I guess. Honestly, to this point, I just kind of ignore it. And I never go in the woods without a Bible. And I did not start taking a Bible until this turkey season of this year in 2026. And ever since then, I've not had a single problem. So that's where I kind of just say. I just kind of assume it was a demonic presence. And whenever I walk out of the woods now, I'm always praying, typically, and I just kind of stay out of it. Just kind of wrote it off as a demonic presence. I just kind of. I think it's a mix of both, more. So it's like a demonic, but also physical.
Host Blair
Yeah. And you may not be wrong. You know, I mean, there's something weird with this dogman. I know that from talking to you off the air. You never really went back to that place where you saw this creature, but you have continued to hunt, and you'd mentioned you'd actually seen the lights. Tell me about that again.
Nathaniel
It was the fall of 25 this time. I turkey hunted the spring. I hunted with my roommate. I hunted with him every time I went out. Never went by myself. Always had somebody with me because I did not hunt the dark. I didn't like it. It freaked me out. But I hunted the fall. And this was probably like around actually the 1st of November, I think. 1st or 2nd of November. And I was bow hunting. And this is a different area. About four miles exactly. I measured it right before I got on the call. I measured it four miles from the exact location of where I saw the weird lights, as people say. And this spot I hiked about a mile in. And as I was walking in this. This hunt specifically, I spooked a giant buck. And I noticed I was walking up the old logging road and I spooked it. So I was thinking, okay, well, I'll go around this. This bottom this creek valley. I'll go behind. He went on top of a. A big ridge top and it kind of flattened out like a big flat plateau. So I thought I knew where he was running to. It's like, okay, I'm going to cut him off. So I went up that way. I climbed a straight ridge, like a ridge slide, which was insanely steep. I had to. It took me forever to get up because I was trying to be quiet because the leaves just falling, they're just getting crunchy. Hadn't rained in a while and it took me a while to get up. I had to climb up basically on all fours. I got set up, didn't see anything. So then it got dark. And then I got down from the tree and I was. It was kind of dark. I mean, it gets really dark in the woods pretty quick. And I noticed that I was looking towards the middle of this plateau. I look and it was. I was facing like away from the plateau. And I look over my right shoulder and I see a light, like a green light. I was like, oh, I guess there's a hunter up here. I didn't see his truck in the parking lot. I guess he got in here late. And then I kind of thinking of it, I was like, oh, there's just another hunter. I'll probably talk to him later. I'll probably meet him at the parking lot. And I get my. I was working on my. My climber stand. I was getting it all put together and getting strapped down. And I look back and there's two. And I was like, oh, I guess they're together. I guess there's two guys. And then I noticed that I kind of looked more closely. I was like, that looks kind of weird. And I noticed there was two and they were like green. Like not green apple green, but like, like, I mean, just like a green light. As you surprise. Like everybody's probably seen just like a. It was just kind of like there. It didn't really move. It wasn't moving. It was kind of just sitting there, not doing anything. It was very symmetrical, like very. Just a spear. And I was thinking that's kind of weird. Okay, it's kind of time to go. It's kind of got a little freaked out. I was like, that's kind of weird. I don't like that. Then I got my lighter stand, I got my lighter stand, my climber stand. I got it all put together and strapped down and everything. I look back and noticed that it was like they were hovering. I noticed they're right at the top of that tree line that's like almost. That's like six and a half, seven feet tall. I'm like, what in the world? And as I noticed that they kind of started like inching closer because I saw them like pass a branch. Like a. I could see there's a tree. Like they went right. You've seen hunters walk through the woods. Like you've seen your buddy or hunter, another hunter. Like it kind of like bobs up and down like you. Like a person can walk like you. Just because you're going over terrain and whatever. This thing stayed directly flat, just was like moving at me, like at a consistent pace. Like just slowly but surely coming right at me. And they stayed like never moved from like what I guess about 8ft apart this state. And I was like, is that a hev? But then I saw it go between a tree. I could still see like it was just dark enough to where I could. It was just dark enough to where I couldn't see, but I could still see silhouettes from the sunset behind it. And it was just coming directly in me. I could see it split a tree. They just consistently started moving at me. And that's when I was like, nope, I'm out. And I just kind of didn't necessarily run, but I was moving quicker than I usually would have. I got down the ridge. I slid all the way down the side of the ridge top and it was pretty slick. So I slid down really quick and I got to the very bottom of the valley. It didn't seem anything wrong at first, but then I got to where there's like an old road you can walk down. It's like a less steep, I guess you could say. Like there's a steep part of the ridge and there's like a flat. Like we're kind of like flattens out. And as soon as I got to that flattened part, the woods again just went kind of like not necessarily silent, but it's like the bird. Like there's. There's no critters. It did not seem right. Like I had a weird feeling come over me again. And I got to where I was probably maybe a quarter mile, half a mile from a truck. And I was walking through an open field, like a CRT field, I think they call it a lot of just natural like wildland growth. And I was walking through one of the cut lanes done by Fish and Wildlife. And I like, I stopped for a second and I've never loaded my pistol ever. I had a pistol the time I had one Since I got that. After that first encounter, I had a pistol as the first time I've ever loaded it. I never have had to load it ever in the woods at all. And I. I didn't. And I just had a feeling, like, I had a very dark feeling, like this come over me. And I was like, I rack on the chamber. And I was just sitting there, just looking around, but I didn't see anything. I didn't see the lights anymore. I didn't see that. But then I started to walk and kind of like did a quick step and I stopped. I heard like, the boom boom, which was two footsteps. I heard a twig break, and I was like, I. I've been followed up by coyotes. Like, I've. Before that first wolf encounter. I literally got followed out by a pack of coyotes like a week before that. And it didn't even bother me because, I mean, it's just coyotes. They're not gonna do anything to you. But, like, it just didn't. It didn't seem right because I. It sounded heavy. Like you could, like, almost feel it. It was like, boom, boom. And I was like, I didn't think. I didn't know what to think of it at that point. I ran. I ran back to the truck. And I could hear something trip to my side. And I was walking next to woods. It was like an open field and there's woods. I just heard something kind of keeping in pace with me, but, like, not right next to me. It was like. It was like just behind me in my back corner. It was just keeping pace with me. And that. I heard that. And then right when I got. Because I crossed a. I'd across a pretty big creek. As soon as I got to that creek, it stopped. Got to my truck. I threw everything in it. And I was like. I got outside my truck and I was like, what just happened? It was just strange because I've never had that happen before. I don't have to think about it, but the orb thing kind of freaked me out. But the more so being followed out freaked me out the most.
Host Blair
Yeah. That is interesting that you saw the lights and then you were followed out. How big were those green lights you were seeing?
Nathaniel
Just bigger than a softball. Like a. I guess you could say a cantaloupe, maybe. Cantaloupe size. They're that. Like, when I first saw them, I was like, that's a really big headlight to be wearing. Like, I thought 100 was wearing. I was like, that's really big. But then I guess a Cantaloupe size. Like it was. It was bigger than a softball. It was between a softball and a cantaloupe. It was just a solid, pretty good size, like a ball sized. And it was very strange. Again, I've seen a lot of hunters at night, even climbing down from trees. Like I didn't know they were there. I see lights coming down. Like, I use a green light when I'm walking. Like if I'm walking into an area in the dark, I use a red light. If I'm walking out, I use a green so I can see easier. Because I think personally that, I don't know, it may just be me. I can see better with the green light. But. Oh yeah, just to clarify, I did not have a headlight on at all this whole trip. I usually have the green light. I forgot it in my truck. So I had no lights. So there's no reflective, no nothing. There's not my light. There's nobody. And also there's nobody at the parking lot. Like, I was the first one in there for like a while. Because this was during the week. This is in the middle of the week after class.
Host Blair
So when you got down to your truck, you realized no one else is there but you. At the time, though, when you're being paced out, you never actually saw what was pacing you out. Did you think it was another man?
Nathaniel
Yeah, I thought it was probably a person when I first was fought, like. But this, like. I mean, I was full on running. I mean, I was pretty fast moving and this thing was running through like thick trees, like thick underbrush and trees, like thorn thickets and just keeping right pace with me. So I told myself as a person at first, but then I was like, the more I thought about it, I was like, no, that doesn't make sense. And then I learned about people seeing these orbs and being related to Sasquatch sightings. And I was. I don't know if it's a Sasquatch. I'm not saying it was. All I know is for sure I did get followed up by something. And I heard it loud and clear. Because the faster I went, it started pacing up. And I thought at one point I heard like a. Like I'm like a. Like it was like panting, but like a grunt. Like a grunt and pants. But I don't know if that was just. I don't know what it was. I thought I heard that, but I didn't know for sure. So I just kind of ignored that part. And I just. I know something was following me.
Host Blair
Though.
Nathaniel
So that's what really freaked me out. And I tried to hunt that same area again two times. I went there in the morning once taking somebody that never been hunting before because there's a. There was a big buck in there and I knew there was a big buck. So I took somebody from my class that was wanting to go. And we pulled up to that spot and I was like. I walked out the truck and it was just. I don't know, you have like an eerie feeling. Like that whole area, it's like you either walk in there one day, you feel there's not a thing going on, there's not a problem, not nothing like you just. It just feels like the woods, it's nice. And then sometimes you go in there, you just feel like a feeling like you shouldn't be here. And I'm like, okay, I'm out. It's like I don't even question it anymore. And I have those feelings because oftentimes are right. And it was one of those times where it just didn't feel right. And then I waited about another week. It was towards the end of November. It was around beginning December, right in your finals. I tried it one more time. I pulled up and I was going to walk in there and I got about maybe a quarter mile in and I just felt like I was being watched. And it was middle of the day, it was like two o', clock, nobody there. It was like a. I think it was a Wednesday that day. And I just. I felt like I was being watched. And I was like, all right, I'm out. So the rest of last year season, I found. I thankfully found a spot that was next to the road, actually that these deer that was just overlooked by hunters and they just would. I hunted. I think the legal, like the legal requirement is like 200ft, I think Kentucky to hunt from the road. I was probably 300ft in from the road, so I was. I never very far now from the road. I don't go too far into the public land. It's just not worth it now. I'm not sure if I'm going to hunt public land much this year.
Host Blair
Yeah, I don't blame you. What happened in 2025? Was it an incident with the lights?
Nathaniel
It was not the lights, but I was followed out again. This spot was two miles from the orb spot, the light spot, and it was in a different area. I was turkey hunting. It was a peaceful evening. I was looking over. I was trying to roost some turkeys. I only saw two hens. And they already had bolts. So I was thinking, well, because it's like, right at the end of turkey season, I was just trying to do a Hail Mary, trying to get some. And I was very surprised they already had pulse because it was a early year. A lot of. A lot of them had braided early. And then that was the first pulse I've seen. So I was very happy. I was like, awesome. So I left, and it was really at dark, and I saw deer walking in and walking out. So I was. I was like, okay, they're here. Because I never did see. I think every time I've been walked out, like, I never saw deer at night. When I had these encounters, they're like. It's like the deer were just gone. But whenever I did see deer before this, there was no problem. So it was. I heard birds, everything. It was a normal day. And I was like, okay, awesome. This is a great day. But then I was walking this one lane, county road out. I made it to the road because it's just easier. Instead, I had to walk through a marsh. I was just walking along this county road, and it was surrounded by both sides. There's one on the left side was an old cornfield that was grown up now. A lot of thick. Just a lot of thick weeds and ragweeds and whatever. And there was honeysuckle on my right. Just kind of walking along. And then I kind of heard something. Kind of looked over to my left, and I was thinking, what in the world is that? And I kind of paused. I didn't hear anything. I was like, okay. I just kept walking. And then I heard, like, a. Like a bush move. And then I got. And then it was honeysuckle to my left, too. I was, like, surrounded by honeysuckle. Like, it was shaking, like, violently. I was like, what in the world? I was like. I thought I just, like, spooked, like, something. A lot of just spooked, like a deer or a raccoon or something calming down from it. And I heard, like, a grunt. Like, I was like, oh, that's. That's not normal. Then I was thinking, oh, shoot, I just spooked a bear. Because that time of year, a lot of male bears typically roam. A lot of black bears didn't want to run, but I started kind of walking backwards to where I was facing it still, and then started kind of picking up the pace. And I turned around again, and then I stopped because I dropped some. I dropped my turkey call. It fell on my back. I fell to my vest. And as I picked that up. I heard again, like, a. And it, like, stopped. Like, it was like. I realized, like. Like, kind of like abruptly, something. The third step again, just like that really loud thump. And then I ran. And it again followed me just off the road, just out of sight. And this time I actually could see the figure. And I saw a figure just kind of running through the woods, like tree to tree. And it was just again, scary. It was. I saw that. I just looked over. I just happened to see that, like, it went from this tree to that tree, and I was like, it was moving fast. Finally got to my truck, and then I just. Because I had to cross a bridge, and I did not. As soon as I got to that again, crossing the water, never heard it. It stopped. And I just got my truck and I peeled out of there. I was out. And ever since then, I've not had any weird experiences this year. Hopefully not to see anymore, because the woods are my happy place. And I'm trying not to let that bother me. But I have a hard time with the dark now, especially since the lights thing when I got falled out, because I just don't know what's in those woods now. And I never go in the woods without a pistol for a gun. And I get really sketched out now easily by a lot of things. So.
Host Blair
Yeah, but, you know, that may not necessarily be a bad thing. I'm kind of the same way. I'm. I'm on high alert now. Anytime I go in the woods, I'm very aware of my surroundings, and I always was before, but not like I am now. Now, as long as you don't let it kind of ruin your hunting. I think once you cross that line of, like, the fear kind of taking over, kind of like with me, I mean, I won't go hunting. I might go camping, but it's going to be a campground, and I'm armed to the teeth when I go out there. I would try and find an area farther away. I think a lot of times hunters will have an encounter, and they're like, I'm never going back there again. But then they'll drive three miles up the road and be like, okay, I'm going to hunt here. You really haven't left the area, but be safe while you're out there. And I really appreciate you taking the time to come on and. And share it. I really enjoyed chatting with you, Nathaniel.
Nathaniel
Oh, thank you all. Thank you for having me. I really appreciate being able to talk about it, and I listen to your show and it's great. Thank you for doing what you do and thank you again for everything.

Sasquatch Chronicles - SC EP:1281 A Bipedal Figure Walking Through the Woods
Date: August 9, 2026
Host: Blair
Guest: Nathaniel (Kentucky hunter, wildlife biology student)
This episode delves into a striking encounter between Kentucky college student and avid hunter Nathaniel and a creature he describes as neither Sasquatch nor an ordinary animal. Over the course of the episode, Nathaniel recounts—in vivid detail—a harrowing incident from the fall of 2024 where he came face-to-face with a massive, bipedal, wolf-like creature. The discussion weaves together themes of fear, biology, and the unexplained, as Nathaniel's account unfolds into related experiences—including eerie lights, being followed in the woods, and feelings of otherworldly dread.
Setup for the Hunt: Nathaniel, a college student and frequent hunter (mainly bowhunting due to state laws), was in a new area late in the Kentucky hunting season, navigating rugged Appalachian terrain.
Initial Signs: Upon reaching his stand, the forest fell eerily silent—no bird or animal sounds—causing Nathaniel unease.
Strange Sounds: He heard two sharp “wood knocks,” reminiscent of classic Sasquatch encounters:
“I heard what I can only describe as two wood knocks...I was like, oh, I just heard a wood knock.” — Nathaniel (10:30)
First Sight: Spotted a large, black, bipedal figure in the timber, initially thought to be another hunter—until realizing its odd proportions and movement.
The Creature: Moments later, he saw what looked like a massive, jet-black wolf on all fours, but with an intensely muscular build and sharply pointed ears—much larger and more defined than any known wolf or coyote.
Closer Observations:
Emotional Impact: Nathaniel immediately called his parents, expressing fear and confusion (“I just saw something. It's not natural. I don't feel safe. We're getting out of here.” — 15:35). Even his mom, on the phone, heard the sudden, deep, “woman's scream” from the woods.
Aftermath: Nathaniel avoided hunting alone for months afterward and began carrying a firearm and later, a Bible, into the woods.
“It was wolf-like, but it was just, if you could describe it as like a wolf on steroids.” — Nathaniel (21:43)
“Dogs can’t walk on two legs...their whole center of gravity is too far forward...” — Host Blair (23:39)
“They were like green...a green light...very symmetrical...just a sphere.” — Nathaniel (37:44)
“It sounded heavy. Like you could, like, almost feel it.” — Nathaniel (44:08)
“It just doesn’t seem natural...It’s like when a gunslinger walks through the Wild West, like everybody kind of hides.” — Nathaniel (33:32)

This episode highlights not only a dramatic, unexplained encounter with a “Dogman”-like creature but also the lasting impact such sightings can have on experienced outdoorsmen. Nathaniel’s scientific training and experience in the woods add credibility—and complexity—to his reactions and attempts to rationalize what he saw. The repeated patterns of forest silence, overwhelming dread, anomalous lights, and the “dead zone” around certain locations all contribute to a portrait of a phenomenon that continues to elude explanation.
Whether interpreted as flesh-and-blood cryptid, supernatural entity, or some blend of the two, Nathaniel’s testimony stands as a vivid warning—and a point of fascination—for hunters, researchers, and skeptics alike.
