The 2026 season just around the corner for Miz as Eli Drinkitz and company look to finally break through after years of knocking on the door of the College Football Playoff. Is this the season the Missouri Tigers finally reach the promised land? Guys, I'm here locking in my game by game predictions. Before we get to those really quickly, let's talk about what our friends over at KI think about Miz this season in regards to percentage chance total wins. We will start there Kshi giving Wazu a 90% chance to win four or more games, 88% chance to win five or more, 74% chance to win six or more, 55% chance to win seven or more, 43% to win eight or more, 27% to win nine or more, 13% to win 10 or more and 9% to win 11 or more and 6% percent to win 12 games. So COW's pretty high on Missouri. The big break happening right around that seven and a half win mark. You could even argue eight and a half when it goes from 55% to 43% from seven to eight and then 43% to 27% from eight to nine. So do with that information what you will. But Cow certainly thinking that will Missouri be a college Football Playoff contender right on the verge certainly at minimum in that next tier or next group of teams in the SEC if you will. Speaking of that, our friends at CalShe give Missouri an 18 chance to make the College Football Playoff again. I lock in my game by game predictions beginning in week number one as the Missouri Tigers open the 2026 SEC football season on Thursday night, September 3rd, when they take Arkansas, Pine Bluff, the Golden Lions coming to Como. Guys, it's not a matter of if Missouri is going to win. We all know Miz is going to win this one and win this one handily. Probably a name your score game. Missouri always always seems to have these season openers where you kind of ease into the season. Heck, I don't blame them. I think it's smart scheduling always on these Thursdays. But really I think what game one is more so going to be about for Miz is answering some off season questions. What does Austin Simmons look like at the quarterback position? What is the status of Ahmad Hardy? How close is he? Does he play? How close is he to playing? How does Kaden Lee look At wide receiver, how does some new pieces on the offensive line look for you? What does a brand new essentially defense under Cory Baton look like? Because you do have zero returning starters on that side of the football from a season ago, but a lot of guys who have played. What do some of the other portal pieces do for you? How do you set the tone for what feels like a really important season in Como? So again, Missouri gets the win. They're going to win big. I have no doubts about that. But really excited guys. I'll be watching that like it's the Super Bowl. I mean really, after a a long summer and a long off season of no college football, that is the first SEC football game of the season. You bet your butt. I'm going to be sitting my butt on the couch watching that football game. Cannot wait to see it. But yeah, I got Arkansas winning starting out one and oh, then the big border showdown in week number two Friday night in Lawrence, Kansas against the Kansas Jayhawks. First things first. So happy this rivalry is back on the schedule on a yearly basis or at least close to a yearly basis. Should it be an arrowhead? I think that's up for debate, but I'm really excited to see it at the new stadium there in Lawrence. This was a fun game last year, you might recall. Really back and forth, some turnovers in the game that swung at Missouri's way and Miz pulls away late and I think Mizzou makes it two in a row. I think Mizzou gets the better of Kansas, takes down the rival, goes into Lawrence, into their brand new beautiful stadium and play Spoiler. I think Miz gets the win. I think Miz moves to 20 early in the season. Then you get Troy so you open up three straight non conference. Then you dive into the SEC gauntlet. I've got Missouri winning this one as well. And again, what is this game about? Very similar to week one against Arkansas Pine Bluff. It's about just answering questions, right? Again, we're still probably going to be asking at this point. Maybe we're not. Maybe he's 100%. But what if Ahmad Hardy has not taken a snap to this point, right? I think if he doesn't play in the Kansas game, I think there will be real concern about okay, well really, how hurt is he? What is the recovery like from the gunshot wound? And certainly Jamal Roberts, fantastic player who can carry the load. But there's a reason Ahmad Hardy's Ahmad Hardy. So answering that question, is Austin Simmons getting more and more comfortable in the offense? Is A brand new play caller. How smoothly is or how rocky is that going? And can you smooth out and iron out those kinks before you get into SEC play? Is the defense starting to come together again? It is a game, a get right game, if you will, for Mizzou before you get into SEC play. But I got Mizzou getting off to a 3 and 0 start and then SEC play begins. And this is where I know, admittedly I'm going to start to lose some of you. And hear me out when I say this. A pick is never personal. But the fact of the matter is this, guys, not everybody in this league can go 8 and 4, 9 and 3. Somebody has to lose football games and it is the SEC and things are unpredictable. So I want to give that disclaimer before we go any further. I got Mizzou starting 3, 0. The SEC opener comes on the road. It's at Mississippi State to close out the month of September. I. I've got Mississippi State winning that ball game, guys. I like Kamario Taylor. I like Fluff Bothwell. I like Anthony Evans in the receiver spot. I think Zach Arnett coming back in the fold. Defensively, I think they're going to be much better. Mississippi State's gonna get somebody. This is a team of all the teams I have with losing records that I've picked in the sec, Mississippi State is the one I feel most confident, I think could jump up and surprise and win seven or eight games because I think they have a playmaker, a dynamic player in Camario Taylor that can get it done at home in Starkville. Night game. I think Mississippi State pulls the upset against you. I think you drop your first game here, you fall to 3 and 1 and start SEC play 01. Now, here's the difference with Mizzou this year and past years. The schedule's unforgiving. The past couple years, guys, let's call it what it is. You've had a very favorable schedule. I'm not saying it's easy, but it was favorable. It's not the case this year because the following week I got you at 3 and 1. You take on the Florida Gators at home. Now it is homecoming. It'll be a rocking atmosphere, raucous environment. I will be at this game. Cannot wait. My first homecoming at Mizzou. Looking forward to it. It's going to be a good time. Cannot wait to get to Como. I love Como. I love Mizzou, folks. Contrary to what some people at this point may think, I think about y', all, love y' all to death. I am super high on this Florida Gators team, and I think they go come into Como and play Spoiler. I think Florida gets the win. I think you drop that one. I think you fall to three and two, guys. The following week, you take on Texas A and M at home. I got the Texas A and M. Maggie's beating you, and this is one again. You have not been able to solve the riddle at any point. That is Texas A and M. Is A and M going to be what they were last year? Not necessarily, but I still think A M is ahead of you from the standpoint of where they are roster wise, talent wise. I do think they're still a fringe College Football Playoff team. And Mike Elko and company has just owned you, and I don't see that changing this year. I think you fall to three and three. So three straight losses after starting three and oh, then you get the old Miss Rebels on the road. I think this is a great opportunity for an up upset spot for Mizzou. I'm not picking it, but I think it's a great opportunity for an upset spot. I do think Ole Miss at home gets the win, guys. Four straight losses for Miz after such a promising start. Again, Austin Simmons going back to his old stomping grounds. That is a big storyline in that football game, guys. If there's anybody who knows how to stop Austin Simmons, it is Pete Golding, and I think they will do that. So I've got you falling to three and four overall. Four straight losses after a three and oh start. Here's the good news. You finally get a bye week to lick your wounds and recover and. And figure some things out. And then the following week, you go to Arkansas. Well, the good news is this. You don't lose to Arkansas. You own Arkansas. And I think that'll happen yet again. Arkansas is in a complete rebuild again. This is a. It is a rivalry. And this game has been moved on the schedule from the last weekend to Halloween weekend. Don't think that much matters. Don't think that changes the result. Missouri death, taxes, and Missouri beating Arkansas. It will happen again. So I got you bouncing back. After four straight losses, you finally get a W. Now you're sitting at 504 and 4. And then the month of November happens. And you talk about schedule and having schedules conducive to a big year. This month of November is not conducive to a good month because you get it going against Texas at home now. I mean, listen, crazier things have happened, but I think Texas is a legitimate national championship contender, and I think Texas beats you on your home field. You move to four and five, then you go to Georgia the following week. Same story, guys. I. I mean, of those two, Texas at home, at Georgia, I'd say you got a better shot to beat Texas, even though I think Texas, you could argue, certainly is more talented than Georgia. I think Georgia is a better football team top to bottom. And I'm picking Georgia to win the SEC, and I think that the SEC's best shot, at minimum, one of the best shots to win the national title. So I've got you losing at Georgia. I mean, between the hedges, I think Georgia is going to be playing for a spot in Atlanta, and they'll have a lot on the line in this one, and I. I just don't see them losing focus in any way. And there's a decent chance because we have the kickoff times. This is going to be a night game. So I. I just don't see it happening for you in this one. I do have Georgia winning that football game. So I got you falling a 4 and 6 overall. Then you host the Kentucky Wildcats, and again, I know I'm gonna lose some of you here. I get it. I got you losing a Kentucky at home. I think Kentucky pulls the upset against you. I think Will Stein Co. At this point in the season, all these portal pieces they have, I think, are coming together, and they're gonna get somebody. It's kind of like Mississippi State. They're gonna get somebody. I think they get you. I think they get Mizzou. You fought a 4 and 7 in the final game against Oklahoma at Vero Field. Oklahoma, College Football Playoff spot potentially on the line. And I think you do the unthinkable, and I think you pull the upset and you'll say, how in the world. How in the world could you pick us to lose to Kentucky but beat Oklahoma? Welcome to college football, guys. Expect the unexpected and expect chaos. And I think Oklahoma is a really good team. How banged up are they at this point, though? This is a rivalry. There'll be a lot of emotion here. And I think, again, Mizzou is going to get somebody. They're going to beat someone of quality. This is the upset that I'm picking from Mizzou to get to finish the season at 5 and 7 and 2 and 7 and SEC play. Now, again, many of our Mizzou folks, you probably just unsubscribe, block me, whatever it might be, or you stopped listening a long time ago, and it is what it is. I totally understand. Nobody in the preseason wants to hear that their team is going to lose football games. Missouri fans, you are not unique in that way, right? Been doing this for a bit. When you make game by game predictions, somebody's got to lose football games and nobody likes to hear it. When you're in the preseason, everybody's O and O. But here's the reality. During the summer, if you would have asked me how I felt about Missouri and their prospects of this season, I would have said I think Missou is probably going to be pretty good. Eli Drink with has established a great floor there. I like Austin Simmons. They picked up some nice pieces on the portal. I trust Corey Batoon. They're going to be pretty decent. Then when you sit down and you go through and I sit down with the full helmet schedule and you go through game by game, sometimes you surprise yourself on oh, I thought I was going to be a little bit higher on this team or oh, I thought I was going to be a little bit lower on this team. For me, Mizzou was a team that I was surprised how low I was on them. And by the way, guys, I hope this is wrong. Listen, I've not to get too much in the personal life. I have vested interest in Mizzou in my personal life and I'll just leave it at that. I hope Missouri does well. I hope this record is at minimum flipped, if not even better. I'd love to see this be the year that Missouri breaks out. But I am selling Mizzou going in a kickoff and I know a lot of you will be frustrated because you will say the SEC always disrespects us. National media always disrespects us. They never give us the benefit out of I hear you, but don't throw me in that category because the last two years I've picked you to win eight or nine games being knocking on the door of the College Football Playoff and if not make the playoff, I think I might have had Missouri in the playoff two years ago. Here's the reality though. I look at it this I think love it or hate it, I think Mizzou may have missed their window. I think Eli Drinkwoods may have missed his window. From the standpoint of I don't think this team is as good as the last two years. Maybe if Austin Simmons pans out, balls out, he's the guy because Boula was not very good. But even let's go back to Brady Cook, Luther Burden, Theo Weiss. I think that was your moment I think that was your window to break through, go 10 and two, make the college Football Playoff. Even last year, right? Like, I mean, you went out, got Bo Purview, lot of the portal. Kind of a similar story with the Austin Simmons thing. You just hope Austin Simmons pans out better. But like Bo PE was supposed to be it. You had a favorable schedule. You didn't leave Como till the middle of October. You missed some of the SEC's best and you could not take advantage. So guys, I'm selling Mizzou because you have a plethora of questions on defense. Austin Simmons I think can be good, but I don't know, guys. I don't know what Ahmad Hardy status is. I've heard very conflicting reports that what Eli Drinkwood said that he may not even play this season. I. I just don't know. And so you're asking me to say that Missouri is going to be better or the same as they were last year, let's say record wise with a more difficult schedule. I'm not buying it. Maybe I don't have faith in Eli Drinkwitz. Is that at this point? But I'm just not buying it. So call me a hater, call me whatever you like, but I am selling the Missouri Tigers this season. I got you 5 and 7, 2 and 7 in conference play. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Tell me why I'm wrong. I don't think there's going to be many out there that agree with me. Tell me why I am wrong.
