Year one of the Ryan Silverfield era down in fville and most, if not all, are calling it a rebuild. Can Arkansas do the unthinkable and overachieve and surpass preseason expectations, maybe even making it to postseason play? That being said, there's a lot of hype, a lot of excitement around Ryan Silverfield and what he brings to this Arkansas program. And I got three bold predictions for the Hogs going into kickoff, starting with my very first one. Now listen, we're in the midst of fall camp right now. What's the top storyline of fall camp? Well, of course for like many others, it is for Arkansas that being the quarterback battle, is it going to be A.J. hill? Is it going to be K.J. jackson who is going to win the starting job? Guys, I was fortunate enough last year to get a glimpse of K.J. jackson in that game against Texas. I was at that game in Austin, got to see him in person and there were a lot of things I liked about his game. I understand. Listen, the game was over. It was in mop up duty, it was in garbage time. I totally get it. But when you look at the style of play, when you look at some of the things he can do not just with his arm but with his legs as well, I think there was a lot of reason for hope and for excitement. I do think K.J. jackson is going to win the job. And guys, my first bold prediction is this. Not only do I think KJ Jackson wins the job and and holds on to it from start to Finish, I think K.J. jackson's going to earn some all sec. All sec chatter. I'm not saying he's going to make the team now, but I do think he's going to be talked about in circles as far as he could be an all SEC quarterback and has at least the potential and has played his way into the conversation of being in that conversation. Again, I think he's a dynamic player, guys. Now what does he have around him? I. I think that's a big question and I think that's a very valid question. But to me, guys, he's like Kamario Taylor light. And I say that with the utmost respect. I say that is nothing short of a compliment. Again, he can do it both he's Kamario Taylor without the highlight tape, right? Kamario Taylor had the big scramble against Ole Miss. Everybody's fired up and excited. I totally get it. I think K.J. jackson, at least with his style I do think is comparable to Kamaria Taylor. I do think he's capable of doing some things that Kamario Taylor can do as well. So again, the supporting cast is going to be the big question. I like that he's got Braylon Russell on the in the backfield with him. What do the receivers look like? We will have to wait and see. But I think K.J. jackson can be a special player. I think he's a dude that can pop. I think he's a guy that can make this offense exciting, maybe help spring a couple upsets here and there and maybe help Arkansas overachieve in the upcoming season. Guys, my second bold prediction on that note. I was just talking about K.J. jackson and what he can do and maybe he can spark an upset here or there. My second bold prediction is this. I do think the Hogs are going to pull off a stunning upset this year. Whether it's Tennessee, whether it's A M, whether it's lsu, whether it's Georgia, whether it's Texas, whoever it is, I do not think Arkansas is going to feed it in SEC play. Number one, I think this league, there's just too much parity to have someone go defeated and to have someone else go undefeated per se. And I think the other reason is I do think Ryan Silverfield is a better coach than a lot of us have given him credit for. Right? Like I think Ryan Silverfield, am I overly excited about the hire and think he's the next head coach lead Arkansas back to the SEC title game? I don't know that I go that far, but I do think Arkansas has the potential to be a fun team. I think they have the opportunity to be a gritty team, a team you don't look forward to playing. And I think that is going to lead to a big upset. Guys, the one that I have right now, I do have Arkansas beating the Tennessee Volunteers. I probably could have just let off with that as my bold prediction that Arkansas beats Tennessee. But it is well documented since I dropped my game by game predictions. But I think the Hogs are going to clip somebody is the point I'm making. Whether you want to split hairs on who it is, that's totally fine. But I think of Georgia, LSU, A&M, Tennessee, Texas, you know those giants that they play, if you will, if you want to label them that. I think Arkansas is going to get somebody. I don't know who it is. I picked it to be Tennessee, but I think they're going to get somebody. I think Ryan Silverfield is going to have a game at least to hang his hat on some proof of concept and sell something to the Arkansas faithful. Now, my third and final prediction. With that being said, I do think it's going to be a rough season in Fayetteville, admittedly, guys, and I hate to give like negative bold predictions if you will, because nobody wants to hear before the season starts about how bad their team's going to be or that their team's gonna suck or woe is me or whatever. And I get it. But you got to be realistic here because my third and final bowl prediction, I do think Ryan Silverfield seat is going to be hot after year one. This has to me and y' all can correct me if you think I'm wrong in the comments. This has come off to me as there's not a lot of patience around this hire and I think maybe it's because folks are underwhelmed by it. I mean there is a great deal of buy in from some Arkansas folks out there, but I, I, I, I just, I don't get the sense that the leash is very long. I don't get the sense that there's a level of buy in where there will be a lot of patience. I mean certainly we're in an era of college football where patience is a, is a foreign thing. Nobody has patience anymore. But I'm not saying he gets fired. I, I've, I've heard more takes though. I'll put it to you this way. I have heard more takes from people saying they believe Ryan Silverfield could be fired after year one and Arkansas pull the plug and say, hey, you know what? We didn't get the guy we wanted, we had to hire somebody and oh well, we just gotta, we gotta start over. It is what it is, our bad. I've heard more takes of people predicting that reality than I've heard. Arkansas could win seven or eight games or even Ryan Silverfield could end up proving to be the long term answer and get Arkansas back to even close to what Sam Pittman had them at at one point. So I think that's interesting. I, I, this program is in a very weird place if I'm being totally honest. But I do think, at minimum, I think the seat's hot after year one because I think if you come into this job, you win three games, you win one in SEC play, even if it's a big signature win. I just don't know how excited and fired up people are going to be about you. And a lot of it, context matters. How does it look? Are you covering spreads? Are you playing some of these big teams close? How does recruiting look how does the portal look? Etc. But I do think that his seat is I think it's going to be hot after year one. I think there's going to be enough to pull from year one to say oops, oops. Did we make the right move? I don't know. So guys, again my three bold predictions for the Arkansas Razorbacks this season. Number one, KJ Jackson earns all SEC chatter. Number two, the Hogs pull off a stunning upset and number three Ryan Silverfield Seat is hot after year one. Guys, do you agree with me? Do you disagree?
