The 2026 season is just around the corner for the Auburn Tigers. It's almost kickoff time down on the Plains. Year one of Alex Goelish and in the spirit of prediction season, these are three bold predictions that I have for the Auburn Tigers in the upcoming season. Starting with number one. I think one of the number one objectives for Alex Golich this season, whether Auburn wins seven games, eight games, nine games, God forbid they could make the College Football Playoff to have a successful season this year on the Plains. Quarterback play is of the utmost importance and a lot of you out there saying, yeah, no, duh, of course it is. But think about what Auburn is going through. Think about the slew of just bad quarterbacks and bad quarterback play they have experienced, right? I mean the Hugh Freeze era was just a master class of how to get absolutely zada, zilch, nada, nothing out of the quarterback position. So getting the most out of the quarterback, turning this offense around, making this offense exciting to watch again is important. Here's the good news for Auburn. They have a guy in Byron Brown that I think fits the bill and they have a new head coach, new philosophies, new identity on the offensive side. My first bold prediction, guys, is this. You look at Byron Brown last year. I believe he's the only player in college football returning who had over 3,000 passing yards and over a thousand rushing yards at his previous stop. I think from the rushing yardage perspective, I think Byron Brown does it again. I think Byron Brown eclipses 1000 yards rushing for the Auburn Tigers. Guys, this is largely USF, USF's offense all over again. I mean, it essentially is the USF offense from a season ago. They are going to put it all on Byron Brown's shoulders for the most part. I know you got Jeremiah Cobb back in the running game. I totally get it. But you can't convince me that Byron Brown isn't going to be a major, major part of the rushing attack. Now this one does feel really bold, right? If I had to rank The Boldness Meter 1 to 5, this one probably feels like a 5 because thousand yards rushing for a quarterback in the SEC. It ain't no joke, but I'm gonna go there. Byron Brown, a thousand yards rushing just like he did a season ago. He is the focal point of the offense and I think he will be the focal point of the rushing attack for the Auburn Tigers this season. My second bold prediction, now, this one doesn't feel all that bold, but I think when you consider some of the other teams in the sec, Georgia, Oklahoma, Alabama, A M, some of the other elite defenses, if you will. Maybe it's slightly bold, but guys, I trust DJ Durkin, My second bold prediction. I think the Auburn defense ranks in the top three in the conference this season. Guys, D.J. durkin, I mean the one thing they've been able to do the last couple years is play really good defense. Play really, really good defense. I mean they have been salty on the defensive side. Here's the best news now they should have an offense to complement them, which is only going to help the defense. I think they'll be able to play complimentary football this season for the first time in quite a while, which again, I think is only going to help the numbers, only going to help the statistics. Therefore, I think Auburn, definitely, it might be three, but I think they're top three in defense. I think they have been a very underrated group of the last couple years. Say what you want about DJ Durkin, that's totally fine. But that dude gets defense and he gets the best out of his players as we have seen in the last couple years. I think it all comes to a head this year. I think Auburn is lethal on the defensive side, finishing top three in the conference. My third and final bold prediction for Auburn is this. I think the Auburn Tigers will upset either LSU or Ole Miss and they have those games back to back. And guys, if you've been keeping up my game by game predictions for Auburn, I actually have Auburn beating the Ole Miss Rebels on the road. But I think whether it's the LSU game at home or it's the Ole Miss game on the road, these games are back to back weeks right there. Kind of middle ish, late October if you will. I think Auburn wins one of them. I do. I think Auburn wins one of those two games. I think one of those two kind of serves as like the signature win of year one for Alex Golish. Here's the thing. Year one of Alex goes, I don't think this is like a playoff team. You know, I don't agree with Mike getting to the war report, good friend of mine who said that anything less than eight wins is a failure. I think that's a little harsh and I think that's a little much, especially for a program who hasn't had a winning record and God knows how long, half a decade or so, I think that's a little much. I get the excitement, I get the optimism and I get the standards and I get the expectations and I know what Auburn thinks they should be and I think they will be good enough to clip somebody. Is it Georgia in Athens? I don't think so. But LSU were Ole Miss. I think it very well could happen and I think it will happen. I think they will get one of those two games. I've actually seen a lot of people picking in a beat LSU because it's at home. I'm going the inverse though. I think they get Ole Miss on the road. So guys, my three bold predictions for the Auburn Tigers in the 2026 season number one, I think Byron Brown eclipses a thousand yards rushing. Number two, I think the defense ranks in the top three of the sec. And at number three, I think Auburn upsets either Ole Miss or lsu. Would love to hear your thoughts. Where do you agree, where do you disagree? And what are your bold predictions for the Auburn Tigers in Year one of Alex Gold, SA. Ra.
