The 2026 season just around the corner. Year one of John Sumrall down in Gainesville. As you can imagine, the hype, the excitement, the emotion, the adrenaline, it's change. It's different. Thank God it's not Billy Napier. How much noise can the Gators make? It feels like roster was never really a question. It was just Billy Napier's ineptitude, if you will. In epus, however you want to phrase it, this is not your typical year 1. There's a lot of talent on this roster. There's high expectations for Florida football and I think rightfully so. In the spirit of prediction season, we're all locking in predictions. These are my three bold predictions for the Florida Gators in the 2026 season. Now, I think John Sumrall starting with this, I think John Sumrall said something very interesting at SEC media days where he was talking about the quarterback battle. This is one of the more interesting ones. Aaron Philo against Tramell Jones Jr. He made it very clear, hey, just because you start week one doesn't really mean much of anything for the rest of the season. He's like, hey it maybe not the ideal scenario but you know, at two lane or maybe he was talking about Troy. Wherever he was, he's like, we have played a two quarterback system. We've played two quarterbacks. My first bold prediction, and this might be on a scale of one to five, the bold meter. This, this might be a five. This, you know, might be because my first bold prediction is I think Florida leans on a two quarterback system. I think you're going to see both guys play. Now I'm not saying it's going to be like Steve Spurrier where he's switching them out every single play or even every single drive. But I think it's going to be a two quarterback system with the standpoint of like, I think you're going to see both guys play. John, some role to me with that comment he made. He, he made it very clear if somebody does not play well for any extended period of time, that to me says a half a game doesn't sound like to me he's all that scared to pull the trigger and go with somebody else. Now Aaron Philo with Buster Faulkner, Faulkner being the oc, I do think that gives him the edge and potentially could give him the nod. But there's a reason it's called a bold prediction, guys. I think Florida leans on two quarterbacks. I think both quarterbacks play all throughout the season because I think they're neck and neck I will not be surprised if we go into week one and it's an open competition in the first two weeks because you got FAU Week one Campbell Week two. I think the Gators will lean on a two quarterback system in year one of John Sumrall at minimum for some amount of time. Now is that the best way to go about it? We'll see. But to me again, John Sumrall told me and told us, hey, I'm willing to do it. I'm willing to lean on multiple signal callers if I need to to get the job done. Guys, my second bold prediction. This one doesn't feel that bold because I think they're going to use the heck out of him. I mean I think they are going to give it to him 30, 35, 40 times if they need Jaden Ball, Florida Gators running back I think Jaden Ball is going to win the rushing title. I do. I think he will be the most utilized number one. I don't think Ahmad Hardy plays the first couple weeks. I'd be surprised if he does. And if he does it, how is he? Is he 100%? Is he the Ahmad Hardy of old guys? I think Kawan Lacey, I just think there's enough offensive balance there where like he, he'll have a great season, but I don't think he's got to be the bell cow guy. I could see Florida leaning on Jaden Ball weekend week out. I mean when, when John Sumrall took the job, he made it a very quick point to say we got to get that guy the football more. And this is after the Florida State game last year where I think he he toted it 38 times, 40 times, something like that. Said we got to get to him more. I think Jaden bald, not only will he lead the SEC in rushing, I think he probably is going to lead the SEC in carries. I, I would not be surprised at that at all. I think they're going to force feed him the football Jaden Ball. We're splitting hairs. Whoever you want to argue, you could argue he's the best running back in the sec. I do think he will win the rushing title because I think they're going to utilize him in such a way again. He they're going to run the heck out of him. They are going to run the football consistently with Jaden Ball. Guys. My third and final bold prediction for the Florida Gators is this. Do I think Florida makes the College Football Playoff as of right now? No. That said, I did pick Florida to go nine and three. And I do think at some point I think the Gators are a projected 12 team. Let me rephrase that. I think the Gators are Projected in the 12 team College football Playoff at some point this season. Like we have these rankings reveal shows. I think we're going to have at least one of those ranking shows where the Gators are in the top 12. I do. I think they're going to be right there in the thick of the race. I think this is a 9 and 3 football team and because of that, of course guys, if you're sitting around nine and three and certainly if one of your if your third loss doesn't come till late in the season, you're going to be ranked as a top 12 team in college football. So I think Florida's in that conversation. I think Florida's in that race. I think at the end of the day they get knocked out. But I do think Florida is going to be in the projected 12 team college football Playoff at some point when these ranking shows start to happen in early November. So year one of John Summer on the Rising Guys, my three bold predictions for the Florida Gators this season. Number one, Florida leans on a two quarterback system. Number two, Jaden Ball wins a rushing title and number three, the Gators are in the projected 12 team college football Playoff at some point.
