These Doritos Golden Sriracha aren't that spicy.
Sriracha sounds pretty spicy to me.
David Pollack
A little spicy, but also tangy and sweet.
Commercial Announcer
Maybe it's time to turn up the heat.
Brent
Or turn it down.
Commercial Announcer
It's time for something that's not too spicy.
David Pollack
Try Doritos Golden Sriracha.

Spicy but not too spicy.

What's up everybody? David Pollack here of C Ball Get Ball podcast. I hope you like it, man. Be sure to follow the show Wherever you subscribe, YouTube or any of your other platforms. Man. And we had all the hype this week going in, talking about these matchups and how great it would be. And I would argue it delivered, man. I mean it was unbelievable. Number one team in the country goes down. Three top 10 teams goes down. LSU saves the SEC, by the way, from looking really bad on the day.
Brent
But having a not good day.
David Pollack
No, but Corso obviously started with, with honoring him. It was pretty cool to see him. He picked fsu and that's, that's where we start, I think, because we did cover Texas and OSU a little bit earlier. But Brent, I'm just surprised at the level of domination. 230 rush yards for Florida State, 87 for Bama. Like 87. That, that's an earth weapon right there. Like that's, that's a physical butt whipping behind the woodshed. That was absolutely crazy. Tommy Castanello talked about it in the offseason, talked about what he, what he wanted to do. Nick Saban wasn't there. And I tell you what, man, he started it off going three or three on the first drive and running it twice and scoring a touchdown. And him us together carried that squad, man. And they had a big 3,117 win over Alabama week one.
Brent
Man, I mean to walk the walk I guess is maybe the phrase of that. And just think how good he feels about. And I thought it was interesting during the broadcast. I don't know if it was Tess or Jesse that said it during the broadcast but they said that after he said that it was all of his teammates were almost like a yeah, we got you, we got your back. That they enjoyed that, that they wanted. But to think that you went from 2 and 10 or whatever the heck that. Yeah. Florida State was a year ago to this and it just shows that one, coaching matters to the nth degree and two you get the right guy at its trigger position, it changes everything.
David Pollack
Yeah.
Brent
And they're, they're the entirety of the outlook of their season now like they should be. They got to go to Virginia but the next two games they should win but they should be 40 hosting Miami on October 4th.
David Pollack
Yeah and that comes now just got scarier. I mean as much as we talked about them in the off season like Florida State, you've got a game changing quarterback that can outrun just about anybody he plays that can dictate to you. And here's the thing, we talked about this going in the season a little bit. He's also matched with the perfect coordinator. Gus Malzan is the perfect offensive coordinator for a guy that can run like Nick Marshall & Co. Like you've seen him have so much success paired with let's not forget about the other side too like Tony White and that defense looked really good getting TFLs, getting sacks. They looked a lot more like Alabama than, than the other side and he, we talked about him on podium Kim's not too long ago and just how he wasn't going to accept what it was. And they, they look like it man. They look like it. No nonsense. They played with energy, they played with emotion, they played hard like Florida State. Man, what a, what a. What an what? From as bad as it was a year ago to announcing yourself week one like that is as good as it gets of a turnaround. And it was, you're right new oc, new dc, new QB and everything clicked tonight. And they looked, hey, they got multiple running backs, they got Lucas at the receiver spot. That's a gadget guy that's perfect for, for what Gus Malzahn does.
Brent
Jump ball guy in Robinson.
David Pollack
I mean it was, it was unbelievable. I mean Malik Dansby was, was the reverse king guy. He ran it a couple times. It was a touchdown. Another one was a 20 plus yard run. So Makai Dansby, he was he's fat. They had speed but. But obviously with Tommy that was the big win of the day. That was the biggest surprise to me. Like that was. Oh yeah, that was out of nowhere. And I guess we got to go to the Bama side too, don't we? Like we gotta.
Brent
Yes. But I mean one more thing. Thing I guess with. With Florida State is. And it's also I guess a Bama bad thing. They look like the more physical team and the faster team and that was the just shocking thing watching it is how much the speed, like an aggression and just physical play that Florida State had. You mentioned the Bama running game and I went and I was curious because you watched it in the opening drive. They just ran it down their throat and went down. Yes.
David Pollack
Bama started strong.
Brent
So I went back and looked in the first quarter Bama was. And which by the way, most of that is the first. Most of this is the first drive. They were 50, 50 run pass percentage the rest of the game. So second, third, fourth quarter, 19 run, 81% pass. And then you got their coach who is. Has. Has a bit of a success history against Alabama with Gus Mozana. That's awesome by the way.
David Pollack
That's what that's feels like old times tonight is what he tweeted. I'm here for it. You know my opinion on that, Brent. Like I'm here for all of that. Like I love it when Lane Kiffin does it that we should have more of this in the sport, man. More, more trolling, more saying it and putting it out there. But that's a big win for Gus obviously. And you know, obviously he went through a big transition from Auburn to UCF and now coming back and having a lot of success. But. But here's the thing with Bama. What plagued Bama a year ago when we watched him pass rush, didn't see it non existent. What plagued Bama a year ago, Brent? Penalties. Penalties were a big like not being able to get to the quarterback. Too many penalties that there were costly penalties at inopportune times. You saw that again and then Ty Simpson, you know both Jeremiah Smith and Ryan Williams. I don't know if it's the EA Sports cover curse but they both dropped multiple balls. Like you didn't see that a year ago. They both didn't make plays for their quarterback. But Ty Simpson while Julian saying who we're going to get to in a second looked very controlled and comfortable. Ty Simpson didn't and he was scrambling around his receivers didn't help him the identity of the team didn't look much better than it did a year ago. And I mean the play clock coming down, but like it just, it was sloppy. And now Alabama's lost three of their last four games, Brent. Three of their last four games. Like, think about that, man. Like that's like four seasons for Saban at one point or maybe even more than that at one point.
Brent
Well, and you see like when you see them lose and especially now with the Boar and losing to unranked teams and that, you know all. There's so many stats that you can look at about what he's done versus unranked teams or I even saw one where they're favored by at least two touchdowns. Saban was 1312 and DeBoer is now 4 and 4 when favored by two touchdowns. That's pure insanity. That's just not the standard. That's not what. What it is. And then you see the people who are the Bama beat writers that are just saying, just for your reference, the contract says this. I mean all those things that.
David Pollack
It's like 70 million buyout, ain't it?
Brent
Yes. Oh, it's. It's a lot. It's right up around there.
David Pollack
But hey, listen, let's not fire. Let's not fire him yet either. Like there's a lot of time to. Ty Simpson will settle in more. The weapons look pretty decent. The running game needs to be. Needs to be more consistent. The offensive line needs to be better up front with protection and with paving holes. But. And then, but I do think that you got to clean up the, the penalties, man. It can't keep happening. That. That's the kind of stuff that drives you nuts as a fan.
Brent
Well, so, you know, we talked the other day about podium kings and reading between the lines of what the coaches say. I'm going to read between the lines what you're saying. They're not as detailed in the coaching aspect. No, they just aren't.
David Pollack
They are.
Brent
They aren't. And it's. And it's evident. And every. And every fan that watches them and watches them to the nth degree, it's. It's quite evident. And, and that's by the way, when you are typically more individually talented, you know, at least from a recruiting standpoint, all the things that go into that pros. When you're detailed, your talent always will win out. When you're not detailed, you're sloppy, you're doing all these things. It doesn't. It takes away any talent advantage that you potentially Have. Well, you mentioned the line, too. Go ahead.
David Pollack
Let's go. Let's go here next, because I thought Ohio State.
Steve Gorman
Hey, this is Steve Gorman, radio host, sports commentator and former drummer for the Black Crows. Let's talk about something that affects us all. Drinking and Driving Summer's drawing to a close and football season is kicking into gear. We just can't wait for those tailgates, cookouts and get togethers with friends to enjoy the game and throw back a few cold ones. Let me suggest a few more items for your plans. Always plan for a safe ride home. Just like in sports and music, I always have a game plan, and the most important part of any plan is sticking to it. If you plan to drink, take that plan a step further. Call a ride, share a taxi, a sober friend, or a designated sober driver. Drinking and driving is a decision that will change your whole world. Get a dui, crash your car, injure yourself or others. The consequences are immediate and everlasting. Please be safe for your sake and everyone on the road, and get a sober ride home. Drive sober or get pulled over.

Put on a clinic like I was. As I go back now, and I've watched everybody go throughout the day. LSU and FSU probably are at the top of the list of two of the teams and Ohio State's right there with them. Those three are the most impressive for me, you know, winning the day. But Julian saying, run the clock composed, understanding exactly what he was seeing all the time, no hesitation. New new OC, new DC 14 guys drafted, no problem. I mean, it was impressive to watch the Buckeyes and it was, it was new guys like C.J. donaldson running the football that we're going to, we're going to start seeing more of Jermaine Matthews in the back end. Was really, really good. Defending being all over the place. Arvell Reese at linebacker. Like it's, it's another, it's just, it's new cast. But they played great, they played clean, they played aggressive, they made a few big plays when they needed to. Just taking out one team with all of that uncertainty and was about as impressive as it gets for State.
Brent
So I, I know my answer, but I'll ask this to you. Are they number one in the rankings until proven otherwise for you?
David Pollack
Yeah. I mean, you beat, you beat number one. You're, you're number one if you're number three in the country. Yeah, I'm perfectly fine with that. Again, are we, are we doing this off of what you've done in the season? Because that's, that's the case. You just beat number one. Like you beat, you beat a highly ranked team. Nobody thinks Texas is a bum just because they lost to Ohio State. They're still a really good football team. Where you put them doesn't matter. But that's the most impressive win of the season. I mean, lsu, starting lower, won't get up there, but LSU was dominant, man, like, and we're going to get to them. I was cow. I was blown away with lsu. I mean, the Tigers should be jacked up for. The LSU Tigers should be jacked up for, for what? They saw week one out of their squad. But I don't want to, I don't want to slight Ohio State. And we got to talk about the enormous elephant in the room. At some point, too, Arch Manning was very ungood. I mean, he was. He was bad. Like, I can't. I don't think Sark was great and I don't think the play design was good. I don't think they were aggressive enough. I didn't see as much Sark as I've seen in the past with motions and shifts and creativity. But when you did have time and when Arch had receivers that were open, which wasn't very often, you got to make those plays, man. And the percentages of. Off. Off percentage passes, I mean, it was. 30% of his passes were way off the mark. That's not. That's a really, really bad number. It looked like a big moment, Brent, for him. And even though he's a flatliner of a kid, it looked like the moment was too big and it looked like it was hard and it was difficult. And that doesn't mean he can't respond from it. But. But Texas did not win up front. They did not win out wide at receiver. And that dang sure didn't win the quarterback battle today.
Brent
No, he looked like somebody who'd started two games and not played a whole lot. That's what he looked like. And on the road in an environment that was, you know, a phenomenal environment and full of red. So that's the biggest thing for me is what you mentioned with the receiver part, which, by the way, Julian Salem saying, finally defeats the first QB to defeat a number one team in his first career start since like 84. I saw that too. But Texas, from an explosive. Who do you fear in their offense perspective, that's the one for me. That's. I don't know if I know that answer yet. I'm going to have to see as the season goes along how they develop and how they do that. Because, you know, honestly, the. The scariest thing of any part of their offense was Arch running, scrambling and then running and making plays with his feet. That was about it. The rest of it was kind of meh.
David Pollack
What were the numbers with their offense versus Georgia versus Georgia twice. And now Ohio State twice.
Brent
Oh, gosh. That. The. In terms of those numbers, that was. Averaged about 300 yards a game. A little over, like right around 14 points, 10 total turnovers. And there were 5 of 15 on fourth down in those four games. Twice against Ohio State and then twice against Georgia. There are levels to this game.
David Pollack
There are. But I will say this. There was a large percent of the time that it felt like Ohio State was Dominating this football game. But Texas's numbers were better all across the board. Like yeah. And they got the ball in the red several times and obviously got stuck on a QB sneak under center which we talked about the other day under center versus shotgun and how that works. Got stopped there. Got stopped with another pass in the end zone on fourth down. Like they had more opportunities and I think that they didn't capitalize on. But, but when I look at these two teams, man Julian saying did not set the world on fire. But I love his composure. I love how he handled himself. I love you could tell he was prepared. I love his release. His receivers and tight end. His best two weapons did not help him early. Like Jeremiah Smith had drops which is not a common occurrence. Max Claire drops the fourth down early in the game which who knows that could have led to another score early in the football game they didn't help him all that much. They didn't run the football great. But, but I felt like he made a big play down the field to take which was huge. But I think this offense, you see the weapons Brent, and you see there's not going to be a lot of teams that can do what Texas did that can hold them down with their speed. I thought the offensive line played really well.
Brent
Like really the next point that, that's.
David Pollack
That was, that was better than, than last year's offensive line performance that we saw during the season. At any point they, they held up Colin Simmons, did we call his name like that's. That dude is a Freaky Friday athlete. And Ohio State's offensive line protected their QB really well along with the weapons. Ohio State, I mean if you thought they were going away and you thought it was a one hit wonder and they'll disappear for another 10 years, you done lost your mind and that, you.
Brent
Know I mentioned that on the earlier breakdown. Their ceiling to me is easily three to four notches higher than Texas's. And actually a lot of teams I think in, in general when it goes comes through that. But the offensive line piece now I think he was pressuring right around 35 of his drop backs but he didn't take any sacks so that was, that's a big deal. And the Daniels kid, the, the new right tackle because they were kind of had him and that came from I think Minnesota and then the kid from Rice that end up kind of playing a little bit of other places. They played well. It wasn't like they were dominant in any way. They didn't like from a run game perspective. It wasn't dominant.
David Pollack
Nothing was dominant.
Brent
No, but but it in a game like that where it's the first game and you got two new QBs and you don't want to make mistakes. They played a just clean under control. We're going to control the pace and tempo of this game game. And it was masterful to watch.
David Pollack
Hey, I thought the LSU Tigers did.
Brent

Thoroughly impressed with them. You know it wasn't the greatest start and they turned the football over a couple times and it just they were flustered. That atmosphere is stupid. That atmosphere is electric. It's crazy. But man, I just kept writing guys names down. I kept going like okay, LSU. Oh number 14, he's six seven, tight end, he's 240. Tradez trade as green like he was. That looks pretty good. Xavion Thomas, 0 like wide receiver, running back. Oh he even threw a pass and completed a pass at quarterback like nuss. Looked really good. Anderson number one. Like I thought in the back end. The biggest mismatch in this game was LSU speed versus Clemson secondary. Now Clemson, they could, they could limit the damage because, because they do such a great job up front. But LSU speed along with Joe Sloan calling plays. Nuss Meyer not making those mistakes from a year ago. That offense, man, that was a beauty to watch. And I didn't even get to their defense, which I was probably even more impressed with. On the other side. LSU was, was complete in an atmosphere that, that's really tough against a really good football team. And they, they didn't dominate on the scoreboard, but I, I mean they, they definitely took care of business.
Brent
More impressive victory than Ohio State's?
David Pollack
I think so, man, here's the thing. You know me, when you go to somebody else's place and you take care of business, it's more impressive. And, and the only thing we talked about with LSU was does, does LSU's defense finally take the step forward? And by God they did. The secondary looked really good. Antonio Williams got hurt and didn't play, which, which is unfortunate and that stinks for Clemson because obviously he's their, he's their best weapon. But the back end, they, they tackled well. They, they, they. There was no, there was no, there was no holes. They rushed the passer really, really well. Like I thought they, they schemed it up well. I mean the first sack was a corner blitz, which was unbelievable. Blake Baker, second year, more tools there at his disposal with obviously with experience in the back end and then weeks and Perkins and the other weeks squared. I mean it was, it was, it was a performance to watch because they, they covered great, they rushed great, they stopped, they stopped the run. But Clemson didn't really, you know, mount much of an attack on the rushing side anyways.
Brent
But so the point you made. So first off, their defense, LSU's defense, it was my. Massively clear to me watching them just an upgrade in personnel and overall team speed was way like light years better than last year.
David Pollack
Discipline was better, toughness was better, Everything about it was better.
Brent
But the other part of the, is the Clemson part. And this is what sort of held me back from making them a, a big time push in the, when you get to sort of CFP talk is I don't know how much team speed they have and it seems like they in general have a sort of notch below others, at least some of the elite, more elite teams. But two, like they couldn't. Like we talked about the running game, non existent. Completely non existent. And you know, now you're Putting the game completely on K club next back. And while he's shown at times to be able to handle that, I mean it's, it's, it's difficult. And you look at that, by the way we talk about against various teams. So that's in the last two years.
David Pollack
Oh, and four versus the SEC.
Brent
And also even just in openers, just in the two opening games last year against Georgia, they had 188 yards, three points in the turnover. This year, 261. 10 points in a turnover. Like that's just a, there's levels to this and they did not, they haven't performed at that level. So that's one where the point we made earlier, FSU doing what they did today and being as aggressive as they were today and looking like they did. I mean we get to see Miami, Notre Dame tomorrow night, which is what makes the weekend even more fun. But accident, not as a slam dunk.
David Pollack
You can't give the ACC credit though, with FSU and then take it away with Clemson.
Brent
I mean, no, I'm just saying in terms of Clemson dominating that league, it's not a slam dunk. It's. It's an open. Those three or four teams in a hat and I think Clemson's got to.
David Pollack
Find a way to run the football. They've got to find a way to run the football and they're, they've got some young cats that, that on the offensive line that you, you hope grows and gets better. But who's there? Who's their running back? Randall had a good play on fourth down where he lowered his shoulder and knocked the crud out of somebody.
Brent
But didn't see the freshman at all.
David Pollack
No, we saw him miss a block on Perkins and then they took him out, which. That's, that's what you get with freshmen when they try to pass, protect and they swing and miss a lot of the times at running. But they got to, they got to find that at some point it can't just be club Nick. Like he can't go through every game and take all of the hits and it all be on him. But I tell you what, he's such a good athlete. He really is. Like, he does. He has a great feel for when he lets people get really close to him and then takes off. And he's got that, he's got that good sense about him. Once, once he stopped running backwards, you know, early in his career. I think club neck will bounce back.
Brent
Left some clean pockets to me though, tonight that I, and I don't Know if it was pressure getting to him or him trying to make plays. But there were at least a handful of times to me where I'm like, all right, why are you leaving that pocket? Why are you drifting backwards? The whole shur kind of issue. Yeah, just stay there.
David Pollack
He did that a lot early in his career. Well, but even when he stayed in the pocket, Brent, he got hit a lot one, which isn't fun. But when he had people around him, he did not make, you know, elite plays. Like the ball was off most of the time, you know, in those scenarios. But, you know, we talk about, we talk about, you know, Blake Baker and that defense, like he's earning it. He's. He's the highest paid DC in the country. And second year there. Came from Missouri last, you know, the year before. Not this year, but last year. And they just, they looked more organized. They have weapons. The secondary now intact. Lsu to me, I feel really good. I'm like that. Okay. That was the only question mark, right? Like, that's what we talked about coming into the year. Nuss taking care of the football. Nuss on the move is really good, by the way. He doesn't throw. He's not a great runner. But when Nussmeier gets outside the pocket with that feel, he just makes good plays and he throws it across his body well. And you know, he just, you know, he takes. Just got some toughness. There's. There's nothing not to like about Nussmeier, man.
Brent
For now and for the NFL sort of future. I take him over club Nick any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I just would.
David Pollack
All right, where are we going next?
Brent
I mean, we could kind of talk locally here. The team that had had a good day 15 minutes down the road from us Georgia, Georgia fans and, and others, by the way, that in the top 10, that kind of. As the, as the sidebar says, cupcake cruises. Gunner Stockton had a day.
David Pollack
I thought it was the solid. I thought the offense was. When you watch Georgia's offense, I thought it was what they talked about. They wanted to get back to establishing the line of scrimmage ground and pound. And I saw a quarterback that played in the gun and pulled the rock at the correct times and then fourth and short ran speed option. So I saw an offense that I think can, can grow and get better and that can be the strength of it. You saw Branch, who's the five star, you know, receiver. He. He catches a check down from 47 out. And just now listen, it was Marshall. So it's not always the best indicator, but that sucker can fly. And how can they continue to use him in the, in the passing game to develop? But I also saw the two minute drill right before the half and I didn't love it. You know, just, it was check downs. It wasn't the greatest clock management but. But I think that Georgia's run game, multiple guys that can run it, multiple guys now that are catching it and not dropping it. So the offense to me looked like it was starting in a better spot than it was a year ago.
Brent
Biggest thing for me watching them is they look like they were a team that was actually having fun playing football. And last almost the entirety of last year, they didn't look like a team that was having fun playing football. And you've got a lot of guys who have not played and younger happy to play that are thoroughly enjoying that time on the field and they, and they look like it outside of that. I mean, Oregon took care of business. Penn State took care of business. Kansas State almost didn't take care of business against North Dakota in the fcs. Avery Johnson had to lead them back. And another one that I thought that you would want to kind of talk about a little bit. Did you see your boy KC Concepcion.
David Pollack
First touch 80 yards to the crib? Oh, I saw it. I was watching, I was watching the Aggies and I was. I mean, because we talked about him and just how dynamic he is and how much I loved him coming into the season. And then he, he catches another touchdown pass like he's. Yeah, he is a lethal weapon. They started kind of slow though. I thought A M started slow offensively and then they started to get. It was also windy as crap. But defensively is their big question mark because I think they're going to be good on. Oh, defensively they gave up some points, but it's also a really good team. They played a good offense that can, they can score some points, but no Casey Concepcion. Definitely my Percy Harvin comparison. I appreciate him coming out the gates like that.
Brent
I mean that, that was, that was fun to watch. Did you see the catch that the Florida kid made? The diving backwards, backwards brown like he was this way. One hand, very impressive catch. That was sort of something else that.
David Pollack
Did you see the New Mexico snap between their legs against Michigan? Snap between the quarterback's leg to the running back for a jump pass for a touchdown. Touching Michigan too. Michigan and Bryce under Bryce Underwood looked pretty good. Like, I'm not, I'm not saying he looked like the best quarterback in the Big Ten by any stretch. But he looked like a guy that could be 100 debut, an upgrade from what they were a year ago. And that's. And a guy that's going to build to something great. Like he's going to build to, to really, really good Tennessee. Joey Aguilar I thought looked really good, man. Like really good. Started off pretty sluggish. I think he was like 6 to 13 to start and then goes 711 hits the deep ball which Tennessee fans were all rejoicing and going nuts and going crazy. They had some drops and. But, but I thought, I thought Aguilar's legs scrambling, you know, playmaking, you know, in that offensive he can keep doing the deep balls and Tennessee just offensively making the shift too because that's not always fun to do, man. Like they got a freshman stud who's the one of the best players in the country at tackle, that David Sanders and then all of a sudden he's out and then they switch three spots and, and have to come in and play a game against a pretty good Syracuse team and they took care of business and scored a bunch. And then defensively, you know, Joseph's was flying around and they were hunting. So Tennessee I think a good start too. And they came out Brent. Pass, pass, pass. New qb, new system, new running back, new offensive line. Hey, let's do, let's do a pass. Okay, let's do another one. All right, let's do another one. Like that's, that's fantastic. Hypo is like I got this dude. This is what I do to me.
Brent
I you and you know me. I've been long a. Not fond I guess is probably hypo hater.
David Pollack
Good way of saying you're a hypo hater.
Brent
Not a hater.
David Pollack
You're a hypo.
Brent
There's a lot of positives but there's some things I thought, I've thought he could evolve over the years. And you know what I saw today? A little bit of evolution from him especially in the play action game with movement of the qb. He. It's something they've never done. It's always been a play action and my QB is standing right here in this one spot only and you just come hit him and they run some because they always are going to be a play action team but they move the quarterback after the fact. Got the. And got some underneath and tight end routes. Yeah. With that combination. That's evolution of the offense for them. That's something to me that's like okay, You've, you've done some self evaluation and you've maybe taken some of the strengths of your new guy and brought them into to the game. So hey, that was, that was intriguing to see because in two weeks you got Georgia coming to your place.
David Pollack
Yeah.
Brent
And that's going to be. That's a big time game. Gunner Stockton's first road start. It's going to NBA probably top 15 matchup potentially after all this.
David Pollack
And Georgia's had their number so you'd want to have some, some changeups. I will say this to touching Georgia again real quick because you mentioned them. Defense. 40 yards in the first half looked really good.
Brent
Marshalls looks really inept, huh? They looked really inept. Yes, they're going to struggle.
David Pollack
Marshall's defense. But 40 yards is, is, is 40 yards. They blocked the punt like I think there was some, some good signs definitely life in the stadium obviously. But man, it's a, it was a, it was a fun first week. I felt like we were. Because we didn't remember we covered Nebraska and we covered, you know, Georgia Tech and those games. It feels like Auburn was like Auburn Bailey. That was, that was last night, homie. Like that was, that was literally last night. That was, that's nuts. But tomorrow we got some goodness too.
Brent
Oh yeah, we definitely got some. Another one. We'll talk about tomorrow night. But a couple other things. One, I'm somewhat, I mean created game one and your opponent matters. I'm mad I didn't pick John Matiere for, for my fantasy team because he had almost 400 throwing and, and then a rushing touchdown too. Good debut for him at Oklahoma. But the day to me is as much like what they did for Coach Corso today was just top notch, perfect. All of it. The fact he wore tux was the cool was cool as well. Yeah, like that was. And that's him being the showman him. But you know, the band spelling his name, all that stuff in the middle.
David Pollack
Of the stadium to, to, to, to make his pick over the PA like because the first thing my wife said was when he went inside was like man, there's no fat, there's no crowd. Like that sucks. Like I want to see him have a crowd. And then you're like okay, he's got a crowd but how about the tip of the cap too? To Corso. Who did Corso pick today? Fsu. Who did Corso pick today? Ohio State. Who did Corso pick today? Lsu.
Brent
Lsu?
David Pollack
Like, are you freaking kidding me? Like that's ridiculous. I mean unbelievable. Like pulling the and here's another thing to throw in there. Coach Corso played or coached for all of these teams, Brent. Maryland, Louisville, fsu, Indiana, Navy, and niu. Guess what they all had in common today, Brent?
Brent
They got dubs.
David Pollack
They all won. Like, the college football gods know what Lee Corso did for this sport and how he changed it and made it better. And they like, okay, we'll take care of business. And so Sunshine Scooter goes out. A lot of people don't realize and don't know that he's tied for the interception in the school history with one prime time. Like, he was a baller. Played both ways. Like, and I know it was in the 50s, but Corso was an absolute stud. It was good to watch. And so many kids that are like kids now in college, paying tribute, you know, like, that have grown up. Obviously we're a little bit older that grown up watching him and seeing him. And so, yeah, you're right. Like, that's a great way to end the show today.
Brent
Did you shed a tear?
David Pollack
I didn't, but my wife did.
Brent
I did.
David Pollack
My wife never cries and she shed a little tear. That's. That's the first time that I've been gone from the show that I'm like, I wish I was there because I wish I could have said goodbye to him because I told you how big of a class act he is and how big of a stud he is. Like, just to. To say goodbye would have been. Would have been cool. And I still can't. Just via phone, but it's not. It's not his cell phone because he's not texting. You got. You got a call, Coach at the. At the office. That's a office.
Brent
And they gifted him.
David Pollack
They still fax him the rundowns too, by the way.
Brent
That's amazing. They. They gifted him a Brutus, The Buckeye head. They gave him one to keep and take home with him. It was. It was phenomenal. And the fact that, by the way, just the fact that he picked Florida State today and they go out and get that dub, that's just. That is a unreal moment. A day in college football history that will never be forgotten because of both him and that and all of that.
David Pollack
Yep. And you know what the great thing is, ladies and gentlemen? We're going to run it back tomorrow because we got another great football game tomorrow night. A lot of disagreement. I'm interested to see some quarterbacks that are new have played good, some haven't, and we got two new guys that are going to be, you know, obviously Carson Beck in a new spot with Miami. C.J. carr now with Notre Dame. You know who plays great, who does it? Notre Dame fans are excited. Miami fans are jacked up and excited for the first time in a while. So we'll hit you all tomorrow night because we'll, we'll watch the games and come back on here and then. Yeah, don't forget about South Carolina. You're right. To whom it may concern. Don't forget about South Carolina and Virginia Tech. It's a great, it's a great job. In the chat by reminding me about that football game. I don't expect as much from Virginia Tech as, as much resistance. So I didn't, I didn't, I didn't look at that one as good. But I do think South Carolina and what they're building and what they can they build off of last year's season will be fun to watch. But we'll see you guys tomorrow night, dudes. Thank you all. Appreciate y' all continuing to watch. Peace.
