And how about that Pollock interception in the end zone? Well, it's David Pollock and I think people are going to learn what kind of ball player he is. He's got a heart of a line. I'm real proud of that kid.

American, seven time Emmy award winner. What up dudes. Welcome on in Sea Ball Get Ball A the off season is is officially here and upon us and I think all of us have been some of actually let me rephrase that. Some of us really, really look at the portal and it's like Christmas and what's underneath the tree and what's wrapped up tight and like ah, this is fantastic. And some are like wait a minute. Holla at your boy when we're done. Well, we're kind of done. We're not fully done. There's still some big names that will go to some big spots but we did want to go through so far right now the portal's closed. But as of now like the top five programs and we kind of have a little heading to this that, that I think you'll like. But like who won the portal? Which teams? What are the top five teams? And to me the first one is Texas. And Texas got a top five player at the position at running back. They got two top five running backs in the transfer portal so that's even better. They got the number one wide receiver, number three tackle, number three linebacker and then defensive lineman's in the top 10 cornerback in the top 10. So, so here's what I'll say about Texas when it comes to the list. Playmakers, who they have coming back, who they retained, like, they did an unbelievable job of filling holes and swinging and shooting their shot. If you don't think Texas kind of had one eye over there to Lubbock in what was going on last year and seeing how much success they had in the transfer portal, I think you're wrong. They battled Texas Tech for Cam Coleman, they battled A and M for Cam Coleman, but they didn't get names. They got big names. They got big time playmakers. They swung big. And I think Texas, if you're a Texas fan, you should appreciate that. And you just got so many guys coming in that you've heard of that are big names that have been very, very successful. Hollywood Smothers is a huge name. Obviously, the saga that went with it, if you want to, if you want to get some, some stories in and some story time later and read about how that went down with Alabama and all those things, it's an interesting one. One of the more interesting ones in the portal, Relik Brown, another running back, Cam Coleman. You know, this guy's, you know, obviously going to play with Arch Manning in this new system big time. Like, it's big time to have a big guy that can make contested catches. That makes it look easy, big, fast, strong, like he's obviously going to fit in well with Arch and then the list goes on defensively with guys. So I just think, I love the way Texas, you know, they said we're going to go after some playmakers. They went after playmakers. They spent cheddar. They did an unbelievable job. Next up, the, the Indiana Hoosiers, the national champs, right. Like, I think this is fascinating to me because Indiana's proven that they're the transfer portal team, right? And the model and how to do it. And people are going to continue to try to copy Indiana and there'll be teams on our list later that we're going to be, you know, put in that category. But if you thought they were going to slow down and back off because they won a championship, you ain't seen their transfer portal class like they went all in for a third straight year at quarterback, right? Like Josh Hoover now at quarterback, a guy that's thrown for almost 10,000 yards, huge career, a lot of starts, you know, got a little bit of, of wiggle to him too, and can run, but a guy that fits with timing and throwing, like, got to have your trigger man. Like, they've proven that they've got to have that guy and it's been really, really well to him. But how about. I think for Indiana, it's quality now, over quantity approach. Like 31 transfers in 2024, 23 in 2025, and now in this cycle it was just 17. So Indiana's like, we don't need all of this. We've already started to build it. So the approach they use, I think people are going to copy and they're going to have to bring people from their schools and be all in and get your kind of guys to start with to build a culture. Then once you build a culture now, you start picking off and hey, I'm going to go get Michigan State's best receiver, really great receiver Nick Marsh. I'm going to go get Kansas State's best defender, Boston College's best weapon, like Wisconsin's best offensive lineman. It's literally kind of like going to the. Indiana went to the mall and was like, all right, we need a few things that are really, really high priority. Need a great lineman, need a great playmaker out wide to, to have it offense to make it easy. Need a great quarterback. Like just kind of sifting through, like, nice to have that, that, that wallet, that credit card, just put it on my tab. But I just think quality over quantity, you know, just an unbelievable job by Indiana. All right, next on my list, Notre Dame. And to me, this was the definition of Marcus Freeman. Marcus Freeman is one of the smoothest, coolest cats on the planet. Like, he's just got that swag about him. And that's exactly what their transfer portal class did. Like, smooth as it gets. You know why? Because when you're starting to rank these classes and talk about these classes, one thing that's really, really important. Who did you lose? They didn't lose a starter in the portal, not one. Like, it was just smooth. Now they didn't go to a bowl and they didn't go to the playoff. So they had some time to really do this and hit big. But they went and they fixed their glaring need. They had a glaring needed defensive tackle. They go get a guy, Gray in Oregon to fill it immediately. Like one of the best defensive tackles in all of college football. They go to Pittsburgh and get brew and immediately going to be a guy that they can put in there. So they took some high. I like what Notre Dame did too. They swung and they got some high upside wide receivers. Like that's, that's what they did. Like that. I think that there's a couple of ways you can do this, right? Like you can go after the guys that are proven that don't have the big stars, like we've seen that, that have a lot of experience, that are really solid, good players. Or you can go for some of these guys that have been kind of maybe disappointing like somewhere else, like Porter or Graham for Ohio State. You know, those are high upside wide receivers that got some serious talent or a five star edge rusher Keeley from Alabama. So they, and then they got Colorado starting cornerback. So they kind of, they kind of went to some different places. I just think that it's, it's like if you want to give a heading to this one, it's like, it's just, it's the Marcus Freeman transfer portal. It's smooth, it's calculated a lot of retention and just kind of the way he does business. Probably. All right, you're probably saying, why haven't I heard LSU yet and Lane Kiffin, because he is the Portal king, right? And their class is ranked number one. Here's what I'll say about lsu, man. Like, they're going to emerge as a huge winner in the transfer portal. And it's really nice when you go get, you know, four, four star defensive linemen. It's really nice when you go get four or four star offensive receivers, you know, playmakers. It's nice when you go get the top ranked portal guy at quarterback with Sam Levitt, which a lot of people have. Like they, they went in and they got a bunch of dudes and. But the problem, the thing about them is with this class, with them, they went all in. They're the Portal kings. This is what Lane Kiffin's been able to build and do. They also lost a ton. Like, I mean the whole, the O line could come together with a bunch of transfers, but there's not a lot of like sizzle or star power there. Then listen, I would argue that's the way Lane Kiffin's kind of done it. That's the way they did it at Ole Miss. They didn't spend a ton of money on that group. They spent a ton of money on defensive line. They spent a ton of money on. Or a lot of money on skill and obviously the quarterback spot. So, you know, all of their offensive linemen at one point, you know, were gone in the transfer portal and there was a lot of really good ones on lsu. So obviously they deserve, they're, they're the most turnstile, right? They're the most changed. They're the most that looks so different from what it was to what it is. So they. And the names of the. Of the guys we could go through, man. A ton of players with a ton of production. So it's. It's extremely impressive what Lane Kiffin's done. I. I'll be. I'll be really curious to watch how that offensive line works. All right. Fifth position, fifth hole. I'm going to do this a little bit differently, but who's. Who's about to be or who's the next opportunity to be? Indiana Signetti. And I think this is going to catch some of y' all off guard, but I'm going to do two honorable mentions before I add number five to my list, which is. Which I'll give you Virginia Tech. I think Virginia Tech is. They've always been kind of a. A sleeping giant in college football. Like one of the. One of the best programs ever not to win a natty right. Like Frank Beamer had it rolling. Mike Vick, they played for a national championship. Well, I also think you got a coach in James Franklin who's. He's a builder, right? He's done a great job. He's built Vanderbilt. He went to Penn State with. With sanctions and built like he's been very, very good at that. And so what did he also have the capability of doing this job what he didn't do with Vanderbilt when he went to Penn State? You know, it's really nice is when I can go to Penn State and bring in 12 guys like Ethan Grunkemeyer, my, My. My receiver. I get to bring in my tight end, Luke Reynolds. Players familiar with who you are, what you are, how you lead, think it's really, really important to do. So I think they've. This is one of those teams that they've chosen to also spend and build and jump in. So you got a coach that's a builder. You bringing in a lot of talent that have played with some experience better, better players that you're used to getting at Virginia Tech with the resources. So they made my list for sure with as honorable mention. And then this is probably going to be one that people aren't thinking about Kentucky. Like, I. I know it's basketball season and Mark Pope's got them on. I think they got a little winning streak going too. But like Willie Stein coming in for Kentucky and Josh Joe Sloan, his offensive coordinator, they attacked the portal, and they attacked the portal with some purpose, man. Like completely rebuilding the offensive line with all Power 4 starters. Like they built the foundation, the Inside they're like, wait a minute, this is how we're going to do it. We're going to be tough, we're going to be good. And that's Stoops did it for a while. They had some that physicality and then they bet on the, some of the other guys with upside, like Notre Dame transfer quarterback Kenny Minchie. And he's a guy that was, you know, kind of had some, some drama too with Nebraska and then adding C.J. baxter, former Five Star running back Nick Anderson from LSU. So like they got the line really, really solidified, got the skill, players that have some upside, got your QB that if your QB can hit. I just think Kentucky's on that list. But here, here's one that I think will surprise you a little bit. So we've gone through four. Here was the guy, the team that was number five on my list, Oklahoma State, the Cowboys. And why do I say that? Because they were 1 in 11 a year ago, right? Like didn't beat an FBS team. Coach fired. I think that has a lot to do with if you're going to go with the Signetti model and bringing in a new coach. Well, they're bringing in a new coach. You might not have heard of him, but his offense is really, really good. Really good. And not only did Eric Morris bring in great, his great offense, he's doing exactly what Kirk Signetti did. He's, he's bringing all his dudes with him. Like 17 former North Texas players. Remember, North Texas was a team that we were going through. Like me and Brent were talking weekly about North Texas. Are they the team that's in the College Football Playoff? That logo popped in the College Football Playoff a lot. These weren't like, okay players. Like, this was a really, really good team. North Texas built on speed, built on athletic ability. Like they're not just bringing in dudes. They're not just bringing in guys, they're bringing in dudes.

They got the quarterback, Mesa Maker. Like he ended up being a five star guy in the portal. And remember, he's not even a guy that started in high school. So Eric Morris has been able to identify people that other people overlooked. Caleb Hawkins, the national rushing leader for touchdowns like that, he's found these diamond in the rough type guys and made them bigger stars. He has a high powered offense, I mean high powered, he's bringing in more than 60 players. But when you're bringing in Messamaker who's a baller at quarterback and you're bringing in Hawkins at running back and you're bringing in Wyatt Young at receiver, like this has a chance to now be something special. And so I think it's interesting to watch the, the, the Pokes, the Cowboys. I don't know who's gonna, I don't know who's talking about them but we are like we're going to talk about them right now because bringing in all those newcomers, you know, bringing in a basically a five star QB now that and they all know your system. The national touchdown leader and Caleb Hawkins and one of the top whiteout best young guys in the, in the, in the country. Wyatt Young at wide receiver. Like this has got a chance to really click, really hit, hit the ground running and be one of the best turnarounds we've seen. 1 in 11. Not being an FBS team, you can flip that over like they're going to get eight wins in the Big 12. They got a chance to do something special. So Brett Rollins from On3 from PFF joins me every single week, every show. Brent, talking about the top five teams. You're, you're my, you're my numbers guy. You're my thinker. You're gonna, you've gone through all this probably with the fine tooth comb. What did I miss? What do we, what do we need to add to this list?
Co-host - College Football Analyst
First off we gotta say this. You just said went to the mall.
Host - College Football Analyst
Yeah. Went shopping baby.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
Indiana went to the mall. Like there's tick tock and Twitter feeds and all that. Just who go around all over the country and talk about empty malls. So just showing your age a little bit there.
Host - College Football Analyst
Yeah.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
Empty mall I think, I think that's a little.
Host - College Football Analyst
People don't go to the mall anym. Dang that.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
Not a thing. But outside of that, I think what you mentioned at the end was probably the most pertinent thing. So who wins the portal? Either you got the most money to spend and you go spend it or two, you take a coach and his team and Oklahoma State did that. Penn State even did that. Virginia, Virginia Tech. You know he took Penn State and I Was, you know, Campbell goes to Penn State and takes all his guys with Beck and Brahmer and Marcus Neal at safety. Like, so that's the model that's kind of when you think about who wins these things, it's spend most money, take a team and that and bring those same guys. Like, I love Oklahoma State and the situation that they bring to the Big 12.
Host - College Football Analyst
Yep.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
Because, like, there was a gap with Texas Tech and everybody else. Okay, can somebody close that gap a little bit? But then also the retention part, that's the part that we're obviously not going to talk about right here because you're talking about the new, the new, you know, the card you just traded for kind of thing.
Host - College Football Analyst
Yeah.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
Do you ever have. Do you ever collect cards back in the day? Or is that. Is that.
Host - College Football Analyst
Yeah, no, no, I did. King Griffey Jr. Is my. Even though I hated baseball, King Griffey Jr. Was my favorite card to collect.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
So you had the upper deck rookie card. But I, I had.
Host - College Football Analyst
Literally, there's a box somewhere that I've probably lost or misplaced with so many Ken Griffey Jr. Cards. It's ridiculous. And then when my son got into him, it was kind of cool when he was younger. And then I don't even. I don't even know where it's at. Maybe I need to go. Maybe it's in the mall.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
But like, another team for me is Michigan. I think that winning ham and bringing some of the guys that they did, and we're probably going to highlight some of those guys at some point today. Like, I think Michigan fans are probably thinking, especially with some of the stuff you hear. Have heard recently. And I think I heard Whittingham talk about a comment that he didn't have a QB coach. Like, little things like that where you're like, okay, we might get a massive coaching upgrade to go along with the talent piece. So that, that would be another one for me as well.
Host - College Football Analyst
Yeah, no, I think there's some, there's. There's some fun ones, man. This is, this is what's made college football, I think, really cool too, man. Like, is like, I know some people don't. Don't love this and it's the system. So, I mean, I like that we're down to one portal window and now, but, like, this is team building, right? Like, there's a skill to this. There's an art to this. You can be better if you're better at this than other people. You can go be very, very competitive. And you could be Indiana and win a national championship. Right. Like just learning the skill and like kind of evolving and being here. It's just, it's fun because these teams legit have a shot. Like I think Oklahoma State is going to be a player in the Big 12. I. We haven't said that in a while. Like it's kind of cool that they've. An approach they've taken. And I mean some people.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
One of the things you.
Host - College Football Analyst
And some people have done a good job with that too.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
One of the team too is the other team in the national championship. Like Miami is not going anywhere.
Host - College Football Analyst
No.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
And they're, they're showing and they're flexing or. And, and eventually like I don't know how it works out but. And maybe it's announced at some point but you know, Mensa and him being there. Barcade coming, the receiver. Like, so now you got. You might be better at qb. You add another receiver to Malachi. Tony. That's a big time. That's a really good player. And then you add Damon Wilson.
Host - College Football Analyst
Like, oh yeah, don't worry, he's on my list. Coming up.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
Okay. Because I have, I have a question.
Host - College Football Analyst
I'll.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
I'll save that for later because I got a question related to that. Like all these teams, like that's. You're. You're either going to be one, great at retention, great. Your system or two, you're just going to go be good at this game because this is the game now. That's for sure.
Host - College Football Analyst
Yeah. No, it's definitely different. I think when you always go to who won. To me it's not who lost, you know, the next list. It's like, it's who could have done more or who really caught your eye. Like of, of teams that you went okay, less. That's. That's crazy. The team first on my list is Alabama and Alabama. Like I just kept seeing like their guys go to big time spots and that's not what you want. Right? Like you don't want your guys continue to like Isaiah Horton, my top wide receiver. Like Texas A and M, you know, Renaud, Ole Miss. Like my. One of my edge players. Smith, Ohio State, Ro. Ohio State. Like just. You keep going down the list like Notre Dame and five star. Like it's. I kept seeing Alabama players go elsewhere. The Ty Simpson thing did not help. Right. Right. Like trying to, to get him locked in. And maybe some fans are ready to move on and maybe some fans are. I think Ty Simpson's a heck of a player. But Alabama definitely the Hollywood Smothers debacle and how that went down and stuff. Like, good Lord. Like he's at Alabama, he's going to go to Alabama and then all of a sudden he's not right. Like, and then welcome to the world of, of college football. But I think I just, you know, it's hard. Like, how do you retain your roster? How do you, how do you keep some of these guys? You got to let some guys go, like. And so I'm interested to watch Alabama and to see if, if they got it right because maybe they got it right with some of these evaluations. But I think if I'm. Then I'm hating all this talent that's going out the door. Like the upper echelon talent on my team. Like, a lot of guys went to the NFL and then a lot of guys that are so talented on my roster are going to play elsewhere. And that's not usually a good combination. So how do they find their players can. Because you think about the offensive line, a lot of the guys, they lost, like that was a group that, you know, they weren't pushing people around at a high level up front anyways. The running back spot, Hollywood, some others. Like, we needed you to nut to do that, right? Like we needed a running back. We needed somebody that was a game changer. We got him and oh, Texas grabs him along with another top five guy in the portal. Like, that's frustrating. So if I'm an Alabama fan, I'm probably like, all right, that stinks. Now listen, I could be, I could be Iowa state and lose 55 players like with Matt Campbell's departure. And that's not fun like, but so, so they're on this list of teams that I'm like, that stinks. And that's, that's a hard world to live in. But the last one man is Tennessee because I like the Tennessee addressed their weaknesses from 2025. Like defense was an issue. Like Jim Knowles doesn't count for the transfer portal, but he's in right from Penn State. Jaz Coleman's a ballerina. Campbell at linebacker like Lane at safety. They got guys that are familiar with Knowles. They got an up, they got an upgraded dc, they got safety, they got corner from Auburn. Like, they, they did some really, really good things. But when you heard about Sam Levitt and where he was going to go, Tennessee was a big time player in that. They got money, they wanted to spend it. They need a qb. Last year their late QB edition was beautiful.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
Trade. Yes.
Host - College Football Analyst
Their late season trade with, with Nico and Aguilar it was great. So, so, so I think they, they were all in. They wanted to get it done. LSU was desperate, Tennessee was desperate, Miami's desperate. So you've got all these guys that have been desperate. Here's what you want to be in this portal. You want to be a quarterback, bro. Golly. When, when there's starting to be some desperation, it's like. And you're playing musical chairs and it's like, hey, I hadn't sat down yet, baby. Hadn't sat down yet. Like, wait a minute, who's my guy? Like, because these schools are trying to figure it out. But man, now that's why Miami's throwing so much money at men. So they're like, no, no, no, we're not going to purgatory. Like, we're going to make sure we got our guy. And so I thought Tennessee did a good job with their roster, but man, they didn't, they didn't get the most important spot. And I wonder if that comes back to bite them.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
Go back to. I'm going to go back to Alabama because if you look at the last two years, so we've had the 12 team playoff era for these two years. Now it's 3, 4. It's 10 teams that have been ranked in both seasons of the College Football Playoff era. I'm gonna, I'm gonna go through these teams and I want you to say, hey, does this feel like they're kind of ascending or like, how do they feel? Positive vibes or negative vibes? Indiana obviously feel. Feels pretty good about themselves. They feel pretty good.
Host - College Football Analyst
That's an easy one. Yep.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
Miami too. Hurricanes. Feel pretty good the next one. Byu.
Host - College Football Analyst
Yeah, I got my, I got my future QB at the spot. Like, I feel good about where I am, as if I'm a BYU cougar.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
Next one. Notre Dame.
Host - College Football Analyst
Still feel great about my leadership. Feel great about my quarterback spot. Like, feel great about my talent across the board at the, at the right spots. Feel good. Texas feel great about who I am.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
Arch spent a lot of money. I got architect. Yep. I added a DC who brings a personality that is unlike any other. Georgia, which, by the way, Georgia has finished sixth and sixth each of the two years in the. In terms of the rankings of the college football playoffs. So. But anyway, Georgia, how do they feel? They kept their roster.
Host - College Football Analyst
They retained most of their guys. They kept the guys they wanted to really, really keep. They did a really good job with roster management. Like, probably not. I still think there's some question marks about them and maybe where they Want to be and where they want to go and what they need possib possibly to take them over the top but they feel pretty good about where they're at.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
Yep. Ohio State keep Julian saying keep Jeremiah Smith.
Host - College Football Analyst
And here's the thing. I tell you what Ohio State proved to me to last year the way they rebuilded. I have faith they'll do it again like to rebuild that defense. I'm like okay. Like I, I saw it like from ground zero to great. Like a lot of guys new hadn't started. Bam. Feel pretty good about it. Like I, I feel pretty good about Ohio State doing that.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
Yeah I usually feel good about them anyway.
Host - College Football Analyst
It's hard not to with not doing.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
That in, in them with who they play. All right. Oregon.
Host - College Football Analyst
Oh yeah. Great about Oregon. Hey if my quarterback gets hurt I got another one. I just, I, I, I can spend an extra couple extra three or four million dollars on a, on a, on an extra quarterback so you guys don't have one. Like it's a nice, it's a nice.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
World to be in Ole Miss.
Host - College Football Analyst
I feel okay. I'm not.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
You'll feel better somehow is back like.
Host - College Football Analyst
It'S not, it's not what it was. That the Chambliss obviously is a huge blow because I don't care who you bring in to to because Deuce is coming for at the quarterback spot which will be fun and unique but that you're, you're replacing a a one off dude. I mean that dude was, that dude was special and unique and good like a lot of pieces, a lot of moving parts. Prince, you know, goes to to lsu your best pass rusher like a lot to replace a lot more uncertainty at Ole Miss than other spots.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
Prince will Iman, me Ellen. But the last team of the that group that has been ranked Both of the 12 team seasons is Alabama. And I would, I would actually say based upon that list they're probably as a fan base thinking like are we going to be end up just being a mid you know, middle of the pack type team. That's one where you like you're putting a lot of faith in the coach. You're thinking hey the young qb like all that sort of stuff like based on where this is and what's left versus what come in like that's one team to me that of that list where it's like I don't know how confident they are right now but one other thing that's cool about all this I think from the football perspective specifically football only not the craziness that is the world. I was talking to a Power 4 coach yesterday. Like, hey, you got your roster. You. You feel like your roster is kind of set. It's like for the most part, yes, maybe a couple guys here and there that are walk on types, you know, low nil later. But for the most part, your roster set, it's like, okay, now you can, you know, all the things that we care about as it relates to football with tip. Building a team, figuring out what you can and can't do. All that stuff can now happen versus the previous year. You go in the spring and you think your QB's like, you're Tennessee and you think you got a QB and then you got to make a trade at the very end like, so that at least is. Is there. And teams basically have their team now.
Host - College Football Analyst
Yep.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
You'll get better.

Don't compare X player to one of the greatest. Actually, it's the greatest football player I've ever seen.

Don't do it. No, screw it. I'm going to do it. I'm going to do it anyways. Okay? And Auburn fans get excited, man. Like Adam Rooks is always in our chat. Like, get excited. War dang eagle, right? Like the last time you had a freak show. Six, six, 260 pound quarterback, man, life was good. That was a once in a generation guy. I get it. But you got to do that dude. That's really special. Now with goal ish, like Byron Brown, he's 6, 3, 2, 40. He's a freak. He's an absolute freak show. So you got that dude. By the way, you want me to, you want to, you want to like tell you why or you want me to give you some numbers? Like he had, he led the FBS in touchdowns last year was 42. He did the 3000, 1000 combination. 3000 yards as a passer, 1000 yards as a rusher. No one else did that in college football in the regular season. And guess what, man, like, you want some freaking names of guys that have done that? Like how about Johnny Football? How about Deshaun Watson? How about Lamar Jackson? How about Vince Young? So like Auburn, I know y', all, y' all have been beaten and, and y' all have been like struggled, but dude, you got that dude. And he's a mobile guy that fits your style, your Personality, your brand, when you've had success. Byron Brown coming in in this system, I don't know that there's a better fit in college football. Like he'll have a good defense. Durkin's really good. Auburn's recruited at a great level. That place is set up to succeed. Byron Brown is a great fit, the best fit in all of college football. He's with goal is he's going to continue to, to move on and do great. Jakarti's peak, South Carolina. Listen, South Carolina needed offensive linemen. Like we need food. I mean, they were so bad a year ago, right? Like 43 sacks that one of the worst teams in all of college football at it. Lenore Sellers. How do I hang on to him? How do I bring him in back another year? Because. Because obviously that was the thing that could have happened. I get him a new oc. How about I get him some offensive line help? And Pete played left tackle, right tackle. He's a big old boy. Athletic, but, but again, versatility, experience, put up great numbers, didn't give up. You know, I think he had 12 pressures and three sacks at almost 500 snaps a year ago. Like, that's, that's a great fit that needed to happen. You needed a guy that you could depend on. You need a guy you could plug and play, you know, and fill one of those spots because it was miserable a year ago. So South Carolina, you got your big dog, the best offensive tackle in the, in the portal. Miami, the Canes, the U being back. What was the secret? What was the key to success? You had a, you had a good quarterback, you got a great wide receiver, you got a great running back. Oh, they're back. Like, you've built an offensive line that's really, really good and physical and I think that's going to continue. Well, Bane and Mazador is gone. Like, those two guys are huge losses. Those are the biggest losses on the team. Hey, man, you know what's nice? Go Tap Damian Wilson. 6 4, 2 50. If he went to the draft, he's probably a first round pick. Like Bannon Mazador. Explosive, relentless edge rusher. Hey, Damon Wilson, you get to go work with Jason Taylor, hall of Famer. Pretty good. You think that's going to be a good fit? Yeah, like the speed, the hands. Yes, please. Like he is absolutely going to, to come in and be right away, go from. You know, they had 250 something pressures and you lose those guys and now you go, man, I'm all right, I'm good. So it's, it's an unbelievable fit for, for Miami. Like that's, that's as good as it gets. Brett Rollins, you were, you were talking about Wilson and you said you had a question. What was your question for that one?
Co-host - College Football Analyst
This is something that's going to be interesting to follow for me with the portal because of, you just mentioned Jason Taylor and what the sort of the ascension that Ban and Mazador took do you as a school, like if you have that guy or if you're the, you're the defensive tackle guy, you're the receiver guy, you're the, hey, running backs come here to have great success. Like that's going to be something in this world of college football with movement where tip of the cap that you got to have, you know, feather in the cap, whatever you want to call it. Hey, any big time edge guy, if I'm a, you know, I go play for a year or two, all right Now I want to go get paid and then go get to the draft. I'm going to Miami because that guy.
Host - College Football Analyst
Playing that system, it's like the quarterbacks with Indiana now, like what do you need to see, right? Like you're going to have specialists, it's going to be receivers with Ohio State, like you're going to get who you want out of high school because that's you 100% start to develop a, a rapport. And if I'm a coach, I'm using that. And if I'm a coach, here's, here's the beautiful thing about that. I get to get guys for less money. Like there's, there's a lot of coaches across the country that are using what they've done, who they are to get guys at a discount because the big money's in the NFL. The life changing money that the multiple contracts are in the NFL. So Damon Wilson saw exactly what was going on. Damon Wilson comes in at number three on the list for fits. How about number four, Brent Messi. Brent mentioned Michigan and how good they did in the portal. John Henry Daly. Like, I love this dude. I absolutely love this dude. Maybe because he's a light skinned pass rusher and that's what I was and, and not ranked, you know, highly in recruiting. Kind of I kind of in my role. But like that dude, all American, 17 and a half tackles for a loss, 11 sacks, 11 games. Remember he got that injury, you know, but first team all Big 12 wins at a high rate. Plays the run phenomenally well. Physical like Kyle Whittingham. When you start to Bring in like, guys and build your culture and what you want to be. This is exactly who you want. Like, you want a guy that plays the run but also rushes the quarterback, like Aiden Hutchinson. You know, like, you want that plug and pay veteran, but just, he is, he's so good, plays so hard. So this is just, this is just an unbelievably awesome fit and a needed piece Michigan's so good at. When they're getting to the quarterback, they're so disruptive. You got to have that guy. John Henry Daly's that guy. And the spin move is so underrated. It's a really nice spin movie. Just does a really good job with it. But he's, he's. He's number four on the list of impact guys that are great fits, cheated at number five.

I went Arizona State. I went Amari and Miller. And I also get Reed Harris. So like, I, I put, I put those two together. It's not, it's not, it's not legal and it's, it doesn't really work. But I love the fact that you go get, you know, Miller, who's smooth. Like just smooth. Fast glider over 18 yards of catch. Like sudden, like, dude will run by people. You think about him with Kenny Dillingham. This is why I think it's fantastic though. He'll use that dude in a thousand ways, man. Like, where is Waldo but tracks the ball run after the catch. Dudes are absolute stud of a weapon. And then Reed Harris, the absolute opposite. 6, 5, 2, 20. He's from Boston College. Got good speed, but man, just a jump ball machine. Like big think about big physical think. Think about like Surratt, like the ability of something like that. So you, you put those two guys together. Harrison Miller, I think just unbelievable fit with Dillingham, his creativity. And I, I think that will be an unbelievable rocket ship. I think they'll take off and. And Dillingham's always done an unbelievable job at that spot. So those are guys, those are fits. Do you have anybody else? Brent? We need to make sure we added to the, to that list.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
Yeah. So I've got two. And it's interesting that you mentioned the last ones. You mentioned their receiver. I think the receiver position is one that, that's a great way to quick add, especially when you know you have a qb. So looking at some numbers like we do every week and pro football focus, things like that. Cal, because Cal to me isn't that early. Hey, that might be a playoff team type team. New coach bump qb. Really good and then they add two receivers in the portal. Ian Strong from Ruckers who had an 80 receiving grade six big time contested catch guy over 60 contested catch last two years. And then Chase Hendricks from Ohio who probably many people don't know about but was one of the highest graded FBS receivers and even had like 76 and a touchdown against Ohio State. But him. And then Adam Muhammad the running back from Washington who balled out sort of late in the year there when. So when Coma got hurt like so good to go along with Kayava Sangopulate Jaren. I think that.

Bless you.

That's one for me. And then two is Oklahoma adding Trail Harris from Virginia. And then the actual. To me the greatest, best I, I love this more than anything in the transfer portal was Parker Livingstone who you know in his little announcement was like, hey, they wanted to pay some other guys. So I'm going in the portal and guess where he goes. He goes to Oklahoma from Texas. Like that to me that's, that's. You would appreciate that level of petty. I want to go to that squad and go beat that team.
Host - College Football Analyst
I'm going to make sure I stick it directly up your hanky.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
Like that to me was the portal and how you sort of best do the portal. But also again, Oklahoma, you have your quarterback mater's back. Ad receivers, Satania, they keep like so those are teams to me that. Because even looking at Indiana last year, not, not this past season obviously where they won a national championship but the previous year where it's like, okay, you're a little short in certain spots. Well then you go add. For them it was the qb, but then you go add and you know, as being a playoff team that didn't necessarily do anything. And then you take a big leap. Maybe that's an Oklahoma type season there. But also I think it was funny that you had a little Freudian slip there with Henry Daly. You were talking about him and you said plug and pay. I thought that. I mean that's actually very, very appropriate.
Host - College Football Analyst
We're living in for sure. So those are some numbers we'll keep. We'll keep the number segments. That's one of my favorite segments on the show, I think like just all the numbers that were going on. Brent could always tell you with pff. How they're graded, how they. Because a lot of times I think people are like, wait a minute, that guy came from a small school. It's like, all right, well yeah, he did. But let's, let's let you know what he did against Some great comp. So what. How he was graded week in and week out. So that segment will continue. And then who won the weekend? We'll continue with. And to me, on so many levels, Fernando Mendoza. I mean, not only did he get the girl, he got the championship, right? Like, he got the girl. He did it in superhero fashion. Like, he got. He's already had the season, the Heisman Trophy. Like, he's. He's already got everything going in his direction. But then how about his LinkedIn account? Like, if you want to get weird, it's the best account going right now. Like, some people, hey, these kids nowadays have TikTok and, and. And all the different social media platforms that just. He ain't got that stuff, man. Hey, open to work. Tag on his profile. I think you're good, bro. I think you're gonna be okay. Like, I think you just made probably, you know, $70 million, $80 million stamped yourself as the number one pick. But dudes on there writing articles about declaring for the NFL draft and what it was like to win the Natty. There was actually pages on social media too, like, of who? Like Mary Mendoza pages. And like, this is the guy you want to go find. Like, Fernando Mendoza won the weekend on so many levels and on such a big stage, and there's not a better guy to do it, man. Just. I love that he got to do that.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
So I'm. I saw him do Fallon, like, he was throwing and he breaking records. Like, Fallon was tossing. Jimmy Fallon was tossing, like, records into the air and he was throwing the football and breaking him. But is that the first LinkedIn page you've ever viewed?
Host - College Football Analyst
Yeah, I got a LinkedIn page, baby. Come on, let's get weird.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
Are you serious?
Host - College Football Analyst
You got.
Co-host - College Football Analyst
You actually have a LinkedIn page? Okay, I did that. I did not know that. Check that out. I obviously have a whole different life that exists on LinkedIn for professional work, but things like that. That's. That's funny that you. That you say that. For me, it was college football in general because. And the ratings came out like, late in the week and boy, was the game watched because there's always been that, hey, the college football should be. Win the championship should be on a Saturday night, because college football is a Saturday thing. Well, Monday night, 30.1 million viewers for the championship game. Like, I think that just go. And now granted, how do you get the casual fan, you have the story that is Indiana, the underdog story. Like, thinking about, like, you could so many bullet points that you could go to that you know, the QB, the coach, the QB, 4th and 5, the dive. Like all these things that are moving, we talked about that there. But just the watching and viewing and caring about college football is going nowhere but up.
Host - College Football Analyst
Most watched title games since 201415 season, 36% increase from the previous year. So in a world where everybody's like, hey, I'm worried about the game, I'm worried about the game. This transfer portal stuff and the loyalty and the fans and people watching, people still watching, right. Like it's, it's, it's a sport that is now. It's interesting how those can go because like some, one of the semifinal games wasn't ranked really, really high. And so you can kind of take those things sometimes. But college football ain't going nowhere. We ain't going nowhere. We'll continue to be here. So we're going to, we're going to try to stay on a pretty consistent schedule with Mondays and Wednesdays and Matt Miller, who was phenomenal on Monday, if you missed him, and he was good on the NFL draft and stuff, and just talking all the different angles from the different college teams. And we're going to continue to get players, coaches, we appreciate you all continuing to rate, subscribe, do all that stuff. So until Wednesday, we will see you guys later. Peace.
