All right, welcome everybody in C ball, get ball. We just saw the Masters yesterday. It was fantastic. Rory becoming what, the four fourth back to back winner. And you kind of thought we had, we had Kisner on, by the way, last week if you missed it. He was really good and he said he thought Rory would win after he kind of got that monkey off of his back last year. And you could tell he played a little bit freer, didn't have to do as much down the stretch. But hey, how about some teams that are in the thick of it that are finishing up spring ball that I think are some, some good teams to look at. Like, I have not. I'm going to be very, very clear. We've, we, we've started the Summerall era. He's the fifth coach since Urban Meyer. And so you got Will Muschamp, you got Jim McEl Wayne, you got Dan Mullen, you got Billy Napier, now you got John Sumrall. I have not made one single bold statement about any of those guys since Urban. I'm buying John Sumrall. I'm absolutely buying him. I think, I think he will have, he will be the closest to Urban that they've had. I think he's made of the right stuff. I love the way this spring the clips have come out and he's talked very much about, you know, the entitlement and not taking it and just, you can just tell, man, he's got, he's got something about him I think that can hold people accountable that is just a little bit different. He's got that linebacker mentality, he's got that Kirby mentality a little bit right. Like now the question is how do you handle the media? How do you handle your, your players? Like all of that's going to come into effect, but I love what I'm seeing so far from Summerall. I think something's really, really different about him. And I think the, the news coming out of spring ball so far is we got ourselves a quarterback battle. Jamel Harris or Jamel Jones? Excuse me. 13 of 17 in the spring game for 210 and two touchdowns. Interceptions looked really, really good. He's a little bit more athletic than, than Aaron Philo. Remember Aaron Philo comes over from Georgia Tech with buster fault into the oc so you think clear leader in the clubhouse, he's your guy. You invested money in him. You think Aaron Philo is the home run. He was 21 of 28 for almost 200 yards, two touchdowns and two early interceptions. I love the way Philo bounced back. But I think everybody watching, first of all, you love the Florida spring game because it reminds you of scoring a bunch of points. I mean, just rallying up the points. Probably designed that way. You want that at Florida. That's how Florida wants it to be, right? You want a ton of points. But I think having a QB battle, having a couple of guys, it's a good thing. In the end, if you want to know who's going to be the guy, we could talk about this all we want. And I think pundits are going to talk about across the country. Philo is going to be the guy. Like, he came with Buster, and that dude is special. He's got the ability to throw in windows down the field. Really good with the rpo. Does he believe in his arm a little bit too much at times and make mistakes? Absolutely. The only way Philo doesn't win the job is if he makes a bunch of mistakes. That's the only way because he can sling it. He can throw it into tight windows, he can throw it into all kinds of cool windows. He's got arm talent, he's got enough athletic ability, got the good sleight of hand with the RPOs, with the quick game. He's good at it. So if you're asking me to pick, I'm telling you right now. I know we got a QB battle and that's the headlines. I think Philo's the guy. Another thing coming out of Florida that I can tell you right now, the wide receiver room in Gainesville ain't taking a back seat to anybody in the country, period. Like, anyone in the country. And you're not going to see that on very many lists across the country. But you already got one of the biggest freaks in all of college football with Dallas Wilson. Six, three, two, 15, by the way, in full pads the other day. Just getting back. He's just getting back healthy in full pads. He hit 21 miles an hour on the GPS. Like, the dude can roll. So big, strong, fast, physical. Got all those gifts. VB3 in the room. TJ Abrams. Oh, hey, let's just throw in Eric Singleton. Let's throw in Micah Mays from. From Wake Forest. Let's throw in Bailey Stockton, who transfers over. Like, this is the deepest room, one of the deepest rooms in all of college football. This room has guys across the board, playmakers. Buster Faulkner likes to use those guys in the quick game, use them in the screen game, use them in the gadget game, use them in the Jet Sweep game. Dude, he's Got plenty of fun toys to work with. So, Florida fans, you'll be jacked up. You'll be excited about that wide receiver room. What can keep the Gators from having a really good season? To me, there's only two things. It's the offensive line group that shuffled all through spring and I don't know that they know who they are yet. Like, I think they're okay. They got to find that group. They got to gel it. And then the secondary, obviously, we just talked. We talked about it like a bunch of fireworks and that's good. And everybody who wants to have fireworks, that's awesome. But at the same time, you got to stop somebody and you got to play some defense, defensive line, linebackers, running back strength. Like defensive line was a question mark going into the spring. They love where they're at now. They're running back and linebacker. Gotta love where you're at. Florida's got a lot of pieces, man. To have a really good season, it's going to come down to those two groups. It's going to come down the offensive line play and the secondary play because besides that, they look pretty dang good across the board. So Florida fans, I would be excited. I would be cautious. Cost. What is that word? Like cautiously optimistic, maybe not too jacked up, but I think you got a real chance. I think you got your coach in place. I think your OC I think you got serious weapons and I think Florida's going to have a back year in a big way. Brent, what do you think, man? What. What didn't we miss? Brent Rollins on three. I think. Pff. I think they still exist for the time being.
B
We're going to talk about that in a little bit.
A
I think. I think they're still here.
B
Want to know, did you put two words together there like that when you. Cautiously optimistic and you. The way you said it, I think you put two words together. I. I do want to ask a couple questions based upon the points that you made. One was some wrong. Are you buying him just because he is a C ball, get ball guest.
A
I mean, I love his. I. I love. I just love. I'm buying him because I love his personality. Like, I think he's got something to him. First, he's wanted everywhere he's been. I think he's got something to him. He's got that crazy look in his eyes. I think that you really, really need to be successful. But. But I wouldn't have known it as much until I got to be around him a little bit more. So I think that's part of it. But you know, the list of names that they've had, they haven't had a lot of success. I mean Mullen was the golden years out of those guys and I think he can do that. And I, and I just. And we both have the same admiration for Buster Faulkner. I mean, yes, we're not getting past three or four in the country as best play callers in all of the country. So with those weapons, man with QB play like Florida is going to be a pain in some people's rumps.
B
The, the Jones kid, I mean we know Philo, we've watched him locally. He goes, went to school 15 minutes from where we live and then also some at Georgia Tech. But the Jones get like he, you know, top 50 recruit remind like body style, body wise, very Chris Leak in terms of size, good arm strength, maybe even better arm. But the deep ball, when you're hitting deep balls in the spring game, that's like a must. You've got to hit multiple T balls in the spring game for the fans. But the big point you brought up was the receiver room because Eric SINGLETON, so good, two years with Buster Faulkner, 77.4 PFF. Receiving grade, you know, over 700 yards each year, nine touchdowns. And the big key, 27 explosive plays and almost 14 yards. In terms of average depth of target last year with Auburn it was gadget. It was quicks game, only 6.1 in terms of depth, average depth target last year with Auburn, only eight explosive plays. They just, I don't think they used him well.
A
And he.
B
And I don't think they're.
A
He ain't the one. He ain't got to be the one.
B
He ain't him.
A
Dallas Wilson with that combo and VB3 is a baller too, like very much so. You're going to have a lot of fun covering those guys because Bailey ain't no scrub. Mike ain't no scrub. Like this is. This is maybe the deepest room in all of college football
B
that we'll have to talk about. We might have to, we might have to break that.
A
I mean, and put that so good. Well, good.
B
With Micah Mays, the Wake Forest transfer, you know, he had 34 career receptions, a couple touchdowns each year at Wake Forest. But when you can be a, the fourth guy in, in a rotation and be, you know, an explosive type guy, different, different story.
A
He was the number one guy. Like.
B
Yeah, and he was number one in the spring game, very much so. But Dallas Wilson, you got to see it. You got to see it consistently because you only saw it in one game basically last year against Texas and obviously it was whole different level in that game. But this year or this spring, coming back from injury, just getting back into form, if he stays healthy, Phoebe 3 singleton, that room very much. Did you see Dirty Summerall's comment on his offensive line after the spring game? That was one of the things that I kind of looked around, just, hey, what. What's the conversation? What are the. What are the coaches saying? And he says, the O line has to quote, have a freaking great summer or we got no chance.
A
That's why I said what could keep him from having a really good season. The offensive line. I mean, it's definitely the. The weakness of the squad.
B
So the other point that you made too was the points point. If. Because if you look at. All right, so an average Napier season for the. For the past little bit, 6 and 6 ish. Right around. They're right around there. So say that this year, summer always 6 and 6, 7 and 5. Somewhere in that realm. But it's fun and it's offensively driven and the team is putting up points consistently. You're just sort of maybe not as great defensively or not as good defensively. Is that a win for. For Florida fans? Do you think Gator fans are like, okay, I'm good. At least we're trending in the right direction offensively.
A
I think Florida fans will be happier because it looks more like when they've won with Spurrier, with Meer and had good moments and that's what they want. I think a lot of fans, that's what they correlate to winning football. You got to be able to score, but you got to be able to stop people, too. And so I think it. I, I don't think it'll please them. No, I, I think it'll make them feel good and be like, oh, all we got to do is fix our defense, which. Which is a better comment than saying, crap, what the heck are we going to get in the inconsistencies they've had on both sides of the balls at different time. All right.
B
That's like. Well, I mean, that's what you thought.
A
It's April. Let's get. Let's get. Let's get to. Let's get to Alabama. It's April. We don't have to. We don't have to get too deep.
B
Can I get one more question for you, though? Yeah, one fun question. What's more likely first four games for Florida, FAU and Campbell at home so two and oh should at Auburn. So two Lane versus USF sort of, you know, coaching rematch at Auburn game three and then Ole Miss at home in game four at the week after they play lsu. You know, Lanes return to Ole Miss. So what's more likely after four games after the month of September that they're 2 and 2 or 4 0. Notice I didn't get notice I didn't split the I didn't go 3:1. Give them like two games.
A
Well, you're guaranteed to be 2:0 and I think you'll be in both those other games. You, you won't be a favorite in one of them. You'll probably be a favorite in one of them and not the other one. So I'd say four zero. Okay, I'm. Listen I, I'm. I'm believing man. I, I think. I think Summerall's got the goods.
B
I really buying the Gatorade.
A
I'm. I'm drinking the Gatorade. I'm drinking the Gatorade now. Listen, let's go now to to Tuscaloosa and see if Alabama fans are drinking the Deborah Aid because if you look at an ESPN article most to prove Kaylin DeBoer the most to prove one of the most approved in all of college football coaches is Caitlin DeBoer. I get it. 9 and 4 to 11 and 4. So that's improvement. Not playoffs to the playoffs. That's much. That's that's progress. But, but I'm Bama like in my expectations are so dang high. Right. Like we've won so many championships. We did it with Nick for so long. Like to. To say it's a prove it year. I kind of agree with it. Like I kind of feel. I kind of feel why they say that. And there is no more prove it year to me. If you want to call Kaylin DeBoer, I want to call Ryan Williams too. Ryan Coleman Williams. Because Ryan Coleman Williams went from an EA Sports cover to the number two wide receiver in the country to not even being the number two wide receiver on his team. On his team. Like you realize that Bernard was one, Horton was two. Like drop city. He went from being irrelevant. So like another guy on that squad to me that has a lot to prove is now the new number one, Ryan Coleman Williams who after he turned 18 did not get a. Did not as get a consistent. I've heard a lot of really good things and here's what we got in Tuscaloosa, man. We got a QB battle and who's it Between Austin Mack, the big sucker, red shirt junior, experienced, came from Washington with Caleb DeBoer. He's his guy. You've seen him play some reps, big, physical, strong six six, you know, 230, got some, got some mobility to him and again knows the system, knows the checks, knows all that stuff. And then you got this dude Keelan Russell, who keeps getting Talked about the freshman six three one 94 couple years ago, five star, you know, number two player in the country, elite athlete, quick, quick release, accurate. Heard a lot of really, really good things about them. And, and here's Brent, where I go next with this man. They got a QB battle in Tuscaloosa. They've got a QB battle. There ain't no doubt about that. And here's, here's the problem. I think this QB battle is going to be decided differently than some other places because here's. Here's the thing, these are not the two same guys. When you looked at Florida, we talked about Florida, they were very similar. They were, they were playing, they're playing the same style. They're not one's not an elite runner. They're both pocket quote unquote pocket quarterback quarterbacks that have some good athletic ability. Here's the thing with Alabama, if y' all didn't notice a year ago, four of the five guys are gone from an offensive line that was coming into the season. Last year was talked about was supposed to be one of the best in the country and it was mo one of the most disappointing in the country. Their leading rusher had 500 yards. They were 15th in the SEC in rushing. There's only 16 team guys. 16. There's 16 teams like one of the worst rushing teams. So here's the thing. You bring in four new guys, does that make you better? Not all the time, no. Like because a lot of those guys for Alabama are going to get drafted. But here's the thing. Austin Mack a little more conventional. Does that help the run game as much? Keelan Russell, if he can tote that pill, if he can add the plus one in the run game a lot. Jalen Milro the year before, give me a dynamic run game and, and then play action game off of it. Does that skew the scales? That's what I'm interested to see about Alabama. Can they get that offensive line solidified and does that offensive line determine who, who ends up playing the quarterback spot?
B
Well, obviously based on performance in the spring game, there really isn't a battle. Right. But the Mac, but that's not all
A
that that's not all that comes into it. And Max been banged up a little bit too, right.
B
And they said he was kind of held out on certain things, you know, dealing with a recent injury. But I think the answer just both. I think both are going to play and both are might maybe even until somebody completely takes the reins with, with the team. And maybe they see that in the, in the fall and you go into the season and one guy is clearly better or clearly the one, but you've not seen enough of either. To where to me, it's definitively one guy. You know, the Florida situation, you got Philo coming with Buster Faulkner in the same system and already being coached by him for a couple years. This is not that case. Like, these guys have been there and it's like, okay, which one's going to play better?
A
Well, Austin Matt came with Kaylin DeBoer and Ryan Grub, so he had some time with them, extra years with them, obviously that.
B
But he hasn't played on the field a bunch, but he hasn't been on the field a lot. And that's the thing. And it's like, okay, once you got to see what it's like on the actual field on Saturdays. And the big thing for me with Alabama this, this past weekend is what happened to them is what all teams want to avoid is the Rogers kid, the North Carolina State kid, receiver got hurt. And yeah, like, look not good, like who knows what in terms of that. And that's one where you don't want to hurt your depth there. Now you got the, the Morgan kid, the scary Morgan. That was a big time recruitment, big physical kid, 6, 4, 2, 20. The other kid, I forget his last name. This is 6, 5, kid that had a really good spring game. But to compliment what's Coleman Williams? Ryan Williams, you know all that.
A
Ryan Coleman Williams. Yes.
B
Okay, I better get that right.
A
Number one, not number two, because, because, hey, you change your name, you change your number, you don't drop passes anymore. You just, it changes everything. Like, well, it just, it just happens sometimes, right? You're a baseball guy, Brent. You love when people mix up all that stuff. That sounds like a baseball guy when
B
you don't mix up because it's going well.
A
Yeah.
B
So that's a good, good change of pace there. You've done that as a fan, right. You've stood up instead of.
A
Never once, never once did I ever think that changed the outcome of a game. Like, I've never got up. I've never sat in the same spot. I've never had like even as a player. No, I never had anything.
B
Same shirt, same socks or. No, none of that.
A
I, I did. I, I knew it was an absolute waste. I, I had teammates that did and, and it smelled some of the same smelly things over and over and over again. Like I take my wrist, I would write a cross on my wrist. But like I didn't have those, those things, you know. Listen, I'm also a defensive lineman, but I've seen some, I've seen some interesting ones, that's for sure.
B
But getting back, getting back to Bama, we got on tangent there. The offensive line piece, like it wasn't like the running game was this. Oh. In the spring game, it stood out. It's. It still looked like an issue. You're still a couple yard, you know, three yards of carry type stuff and that's still going to be a work in progress consistently. But like you said, Russell gives them an element.
A
Yeah.
B
That maybe they didn't necessarily had and they obviously used a lot of it two years ago, almost too much of it with Jaylen Milro. So how much that kid can bring to that element, we'll see.
A
Well, another thing too about this kid. This kid's not even 200 pounds. Jalen Milroe was put together like Jalen Miller was a running back. So Russell, how many shots can he take? Right. Like that. That was another thing too, if you think about you're going to build an offense around his wheels, like that's where. That's where I think you make a lot of sense saying that it, it might be both of them playing, like finding a way to play them both. But you know, I'm interested to see the depth charts this spring and I say this just for one reason, because this, this spring, going into summer competitions, they used to make sure they did not put name the starter because people would transfer, people would leave. Now that the transfer pool is closed, I'm wondering if we'll get more information earlier on in camp. Like, because I think that was a large percentage of the reason why people didn't announce it.
B
Possibly the offensive line piece. The James kid That transferred from Ms. State, he's first team offensive tackle. They moved the Carroll kid that played last year. Moved him inside.
A
Yep.
B
So they're, you know, they sort of feel confident in what they're doing there, but maybe not necessarily getting the results.
A
The biggest thing might be that they, they also hired a new offensive line coach. I mean, I think that's a.
B
And those obviously take time. It's not like all of a sudden it's going to gel and it's going to be this, this great thing and that. No, but the good thing for them, I think, is their schedule. If you look at the first five games of their schedule, East Carolina open up at home, which is not, you know, never a pushover, but no, still
A
game, way more talented than them, obviously.
B
Yeah. But at Kentucky, game two, Florida State.
A
Don't sleep on Will Stein's cats, bro.
B
No, I agree, I agree. Florida State at home, big time revenge game, obviously. South Carolina at home, who's pushed rank two straight years.
A
They're going to be way better.
B
And then at Mississippi State before Georgia comes on October 10th, like in, in a normal Alabama season, if where you were coming off of sort of, I guess, normal Alabama world, you're thinking, okay, they're five and oh, hosting Georgia.
A
But time.
B
Not necessarily, huh?
A
Times have changed.
B
Times have changed a little bit, but it's still a good start when you're breaking into new quarterbacks and. Or one. Either. Whoever it is that you decide to go with, if you do go with one. But I, I think both are going to play.
A
Yeah, I think it would make sense to play both. That offensive line has to get better. All right, give me some numbers. Brent always do the numbers with pff. And I guess, I mean, I heard some, some things on pff, man. Like we basically. Do they exist now or what? What's. What's.
B
They sold two other quick spring things and then we'll talk about pff.
A
Okay.
B
One, Tennessee. Did you. So the defense. QB struggle bus defense sort of won the day, but Chaz Coleman's been sort of absent. I thought dealing with personal things is what I read. So that was other thing. And the other part, fun thing from the spring. Did you see Muschamp's shirt? Or quote, I think it was his shirt.
A
I didn't see his shirt.
B
So it said NT equals np. And he said no thud equals no play if you don't thud and practice. He said you're not gonna tackle well in the game. You're not playing like. So that some of the attitudinal stuff that you've talked about with must champ already showing up in Got to have it.
A
Got to have it, man. They. They need it. They need that in Austin. They need some. They need some physicality. They need some toughness. They need a little something different of a mindset shift. It's not. It's not ability. It's not players like they've got plenty of those guys they got to dominate those trenches and it's got to be a physical mindset and a. In a way they practice, in a way they're talked to every day.
B
It looks like they're at least heading in that direction. So the PFFs, PFF stuff. So obviously BFF, Pro Football Focus, if likely, if you've watched our show, you know that, you know, I have worked for them for a long time, you know, probably of their existence. For the most part. You watch Sunday Night Football on NBC and you see the grades or you hear the discourse and the conversation on various team sites, because all the team sites for the most part now use that data to, you know, create content, talk about all the things as relates to team. Well, there was a couple. Couple weeks back they were sold. And the. What I did, I actually didn't realize this. I kind of understood it, but I didn't. But I didn't realize it was truly two separate business entities. But the PFF enterprise, which was all the stuff that the teams have and the teams work with, where there's 32 NFL teams, all the college teams is clients, all that sort of stuff, that side side got sold to a company called teamworks, which was already in sort of with all these teams for the technology piece. And then the PFF consumer side, which is what the general college football fan can, you know, buy a subscription to and see all the grades and see a lot of. A lot of the data that we talk about on here. It's kind of a up in the air. Who knows at this point in time it still exists pff like they still own it. But are you going to get the same things that you've always gotten? I don't know. And just sort of. I wanted to kind of go through some of the history of this. So in 2014 is when I actually started with Pro Football Focus. And that's the same year that Chris Collinsworth started investing in the company and sort of grew the team. They didn't have all the NFL teams as clients. I remember showing it to you. Some of the stuff that I did, it's just like, okay, what. This is new. This is unique. I mean, we use Excel spreadsheets, we use Dropbox for video transfer. But the investment happened and then it grew and it created a monster in terms of football analytics and data. And basically all these things that coaches had gas doing, you know, for hours on end were done overnight. And it's one of those where the existence of it, if coaches didn't have, would kind of be back to the Stone Age in terms of accessing all the unique situational and tendency type data that you can access it. And it became a machine. It's changed completely changed how we talk about and look at football. I think over the past decade or so and especially in the college game where there wasn't like the NFL had certain things but there was no data. And all these things we talked about like different explosive plays or average depth of target for Eric Singleton that we talked about earlier podcast. Nobody had that.
A
When I met with you and I talked about it, it kind of bored me because I'm, I'm a different person the way I watch tape and stuff. But I definitely saw the value in it. I don't look, I don't believe in all of it because I think there's a reason there's usually. But I think you can refine those numbers and a lot of times get back to you can, you can, you can take the numbers and then go look at some of the detail as opposed to finding all the detail. I think they work hand in hand a lot of times together. All right, let's get to who won the weekend? Who'd you got? Who you got one of the weekend this weekend. I absolutely love this one, by the way. This is fantastic.
B
So we've talked about her on here previously.
A
Which, which, which by the way we talked about her does not happen on this podcast very often. So we're going to be very clear. Like we don't talk about her very often. Any. We don't talk about a lot of female sports on this pod. So this dude must be a baller. And she is.
B
And that is. That is Kendall Wells, your former center on your best, your girls basketball team and former North Oconee titan. It's now official she has the freshman home run record, the NCAA's freshman home run record with 31 home runs. I think they've maybe played like 42, 41 something. I can't remember the exact number of games. 38 is the all time record for a single season. I feel pretty confident this, that she's gonna shatter that and it's shatter that. If you're following if sports at all on Twitter, you're seeing this and seeing it discussed because these aren't just pop ups that happen to go three feet out.
A
These are, these are leaving stadium.
B
Yes.
A
These are the best swing to come through North Oconee High School, boys or girls and we've had some good ones. On the boys side is Kendall Wells and she's at Oklahoma Dr. Dropping bombs. By the way, I think in this semi final game, the last game she played two years ago, I think she had 36 and 22, something like that, like points and rebounds. And then if she didn't foul out, we would have went to the finals and got boat raced. But, but either way, Kendall Wells, Absolutely official record holder.
B
Now I feel pretty good about my prediction with her. I like, as soon as I saw her at home I'm like, she's going to break every Oklahoma home run record. Well, I happen to forget that and not know that the NCAA's all time leader is also in Oklahoma Sooner. So I think she's gonna, she might get that. Great.
A
Thanks.
B
Yes.
A
All right, Wesley, who won the weekend? Wesley.
C
All right.
A
I like, look, Wesley's got the Augusta hat on too. I like that.
C
Dude, our guy kids won the freaking weekend.
A
Yes, he did. Tell me why he called it, bro. He called it.
C
How many people going into this week at Augusta said Rory was going to go back to back? How many people were doubting him? I'm gonna say way more people up here saying he couldn't go back to back. And a lot of people down here below our lower third saying that he
A
would go back to back.
C
And he just knew, man. And it's not just Rory going back to back, it's the guys he said would finish top 10. Speed, Scott Day, Rose, Rose. They all made the cut. They didn't all finish top 10, but they all made the cut.
A
Man, he pretty much nailed them all.
C
And this was like for people watching the Masters, this was not your typical Masters where people blow up. I mean, look, I'm not taking anything, I'm taking 0% away from what Rory did because he can't. Only three other galleries in Masters history saw Rory do what he did and go back to back. He, but he was kind of the best of the worst, right? There was no real blow up. There was no real. There were some movers like shout out to Russell Henley, the dog.
A
Yeah. If he, if, if Henley made some putts, he could have made that variant to say that. Yeah, no, you're right. He, he, he missed some, he missed some birdie. He just didn't make any putts. Like he was there the whole day.
C
Dude, Justin Rose can say the same thing.
A
I mean he had that three hole stretch where he, you don't see that very often.
C
Make a lot of mist. But he also didn't really.
A
Okay, can we talk now about. Yeah, what can we talk about? Scotty Scheffler. Are you Freaking kidding me. Like, this dude's not human. He's not human like he.
C
But it's kind of been, it's kind of been the story of his year. And we don't talk a lot of, a lot of golf on here, but he doesn't start fast enough ever. And, and not this year. And look, he had a 14 year old kid. If anybody won the week, it was his, his wife. I mean, I was there Wednesday and at the par three, and his wife was there carrying around Remy. They're 14 days old at the time. Nine, nine day old child. Okay. And they were walking around the, the par three course and that's hilly as well. But I mean, Rory going back to back Kisner, just, just so impressive, man. He is, he is going to have an amazing career as a, as a broadcaster, as an analyst. So no doubt the Masters was awesome. I, I know you're going to talk more about that, but I was really impressed, man. Just hearing kids call a shot on that dude. He was so. It just blows me away. It was awesome.
A
It was impressive. He did it right here on Seaball. Get ball. I think we all won the weekend every time we get to see the Masters. Like, I don't know how many dudes that don't watch the Masters. There's just not a lot. Like, but, but I wrote this down. Scotty, he finished second this year. He finished first or fourth in 2025, first in 2024, 10th in 2023, and first in 2022. His worst finish is 10th. His next worst finish out of the four is fourth. And then he's got a second and two firsts. Like, I mean, it's as good as it gets. The dude about to turn 30. And, and I don't know if you saw the clip, we shared it on social media, but like, he's gotten to the point where. And this was Rory's moment. I get it. And Rory was good. But like, if Scotty plays just a little bit better to start, like, you don't question what's in here and you don't question like the mental toughness. Like he's just gonna, he's not gonna shank it on 18 like Rory did. And Rory recovered and that's fine. But I'm just saying, like, he almost makes that putt on 17, that, that makes it totally different. It would be really, really fun to watch. But we win the weekend. We always win the weekend when we get the Masters. So much fun to watch. The mental grind that is, that is really impressive. Like you can't relax. If you relax, the course kicks their ace. Like, it's amazing how hard it is and how hard golf can be.
B
Got to ask you, have you ever had to shoot off the tee with that many with people lined up beside you like that?
A
No. And if I did, somebody would die like that.
B
That I can't imagine. Like, the last shot, where he went on, where he went to the right way.
A
Right.
B
It's like, okay, if he hits this thing a little too far, it's landing in a massive crowd of people.
A
Yeah. I mean, he did it a lot. He was like, 90th and driving going into Sunday, which is. Which is nuts. To be there at least made it
B
interesting at the end.
A
It did make it a little bit interesting. But, hey, we appreciate y', all, but
C
that's what Kisner said. He said that's why he thought he would go back to back, because he could hit it further than anybody, and the course is wide open.
A
Yep.
C
And as long as you hit it further than everybody and. And you're better than them at your approach shot, that's why. That's why he won. That's why. That's why he went back back, Man. He understands the course. He was flying there on his private jet in the mornings to practice last week instead of playing in a tournament and getting back home to have dinner with his family.
A
Wes, my favorite. Wes, My favorite part was on 17 is like, I love that Rory's developed a low stinger, and Cameron Young belted one, and he was 10 yards behind Rory, who hit a low stinger with a drive. I mean, the dude hits it 333, 40. He doesn't need to hit the big ball. Big dog. Like, if a low stinger can do that, it's. He's playing a different game than everybody else. Like, it's like Tiger back in the day. It really is.
C
He just knows it like the back of his hand. And I'll say Cameron Young, for him to go out there. I know he started hot, but I didn't think today a lot of people were, you know, prisoner of the moment. Cameron Young's about to pull away. Rory's gonna blow it. Everyone loves to see a collapse, but today was the kind of day, or Sunday was the kind of day where Cameron Young builds the character to go win this thing in a couple years.
B
Yeah.
C
You know, this wasn't. This wasn't his year to win it. But when you have a day like Sunday where you can taste it, but you can't get there, he's gonna win this thing, man.
B
He's commentary on that.
C
He's too freaking good.
B
Was Tiger. What would they be talking about?
A
Like, if Tiger proof in the course? Like.
B
Well, no, but they would be saying about that kid in terms of, you know, he's got to play with Tiger on a Sunday. Yeah. You know, the mental strain of that in general, just not just playing the game. They didn't really say that about Rory, but maybe they could have.
A
I think it's. I. Rory's good. He's really good. But is it fair to say. And Wes, get your butt back in here, too, because you watch this stuff and you went to the Masters. Like, is it fair to say. I think Rory's really good, but is it also fair to say that I don't trust Rory down the stretch in a big moment? Like, if. If it's him going.
C
It depends on the course. It really comes. It just keeps going back to what
A
I knew Tiger was going to win. I knew. You knew Jack was going to win. Rory's one of the most talented guys in the history of golf. You don't know he's going to win.
C
But that there. Maybe that's how he likes to play, man. Like, that's. He's a roller coaster. That's how he likes to play. It helps him, you know, I mean, it's all. Mickelson played a lot of golf like that and. And he had highs and he had lows, and he could. He could reach the highs when he needed to.
A
You know, he was Mr. Tin cup for sure. He was. He was the definition of an implosion and just kept swinging. Hey, do that. Do that funky stuff, guys. Rate, like, subscribe all that stuff. We do a really bad job of telling you that here on Z Ball. Get ball. That's my fault because I suck at it. But make me look good. Please rate, subscribe. Give us all those ratings and stuff. We'll be back Wednesday. We're going to talk some Georgia football because they'll be. They'll be big. We'll talk a little bit more about all the spring stuff that's going on, man. It's kind of cool because we. We are. Here it is. Spring ball. Football's around the corner, dude. Like, you're going to blink. You're going to be on vacation and you're. And we're going to be starting the season and we're going to be talking about who's number one, and we're going to be talking about Ohio State and. And Texas to open the season again being both highly ranked teams. So it's not too far around the Kona, and we appreciate you guys visiting with us. Caball, get ball. We'll see you a little bit later on the week. Holla.

Florida’s apparent offensive resurgence and Sumrall’s culture shift anchor the football talk, with honest appraisal of the uncertainties (OL and secondary). Alabama’s challenge under DeBoer is framed with both skepticism and respect—fans should expect a learning curve, especially behind center and up front. The show closes on an uplifting note, celebrating trailblazing athletes in both softball and golf, while returning to X’s and O’s for hungry football fans waiting for fall.
