David Pollock
What up dudes? Welcome on in to see ball, get ball. I'm David Pollock. I'm here with you every week and we have special guests sometimes too. And first of all, we'll talk about Georgia spring game and some of the observations. Michigan spring game, some of the observations. Like we always do, man, we always get into the numbers and we're going to get into some numbers with the NFL draft that you want to hear. Podium kings, which is fantastic. We'll close with who won the weekend. A lot going on in college football because of the spring games, because of the fun. We'll go right to UGA spring game. It's interesting to me with, with the storylines with Georgia. Everything about the University of Georgia when you think about this upcoming season is the antithesis of last season. Last season we were like who are the guys? Who are the names? Like who are these guys that are going to step up? And it ended up being a lot of young guys but we felt really good about where they were down the stretch of the season. And the off season was talking about 15 returning starters, right? 15 guys coming back with starting and post spring. All you're going to hear about now is the youth movement. Like so many freshmen who are going to play this next fall. Like so many guys that just you kept the freshman class. The guys that are freshmen in these classes, like Kaden Prothero. How about Zaki or Zakai Hilton, this young guy in the offensive line he started and go watch that tape and watch that dude pull and kick people out and run his feet and watch some of the athletic ability and nastiness that he has was absolutely, absolutely incredible. Last year was Juan Gaston and Dontrell Glover for Georgia freshmen, how are they going to play on the offensive line? Well, Inter Hilton, he's going to come in the mix this year, and he's going to play as a freshman as well up front. It didn't stop there, by the way. Tyreek Green, the cornerback, got to play some reps, obviously, with some more injuries. But like when. When Kirby's smart, you know, Kirby, that guy that tends to be a little bit more critical than positive is like, that dude's a football player. He's instinctive. He understands things naturally. It was an easy transition to corner. He can help us at either spot this year, like, right away. So Tyreek Green, another guy, Jaden Randall Riddell, a guy that stayed, that was, you know, getting plugged, pillaged by everybody. He obviously had the touchdown. He's a young guy to know. He's not. He's not as young as the other guys. But one more thing. We talked about this last week just a little bit. They're going to run the football and they're going to be good at it. And Brent Rollins, I'll let you jump in here right at this point, if you can get in here. Nate Frazier is a bad ace. He's a bad mother. Shut your mouth. Obviously got hurt in the. In the spring game, you know, very early first play, Chauncey Bowens. But Dante Dowdle, I know he's transferred a couple of times and been to a couple spots. Dude ran like, listen, I love to use this analogy. He ran like he had something to prove. He ran like he wanted to show people he. Every carry mattered. Every carry had a little sauce to it. No, Sean Marino was so good at it, right? Like, just to be able to bring that energy repeatedly. Repeatedly and repeatedly. That backfield looks pretty D. I could throw another name in there, too, with Phil. I mean, that was. That backfield looks absolutely loaded. Talk to me, Brent Rollins. It was fun to watch.
Brent Rollins
That's the first time I've been in Sanford Stadium since 2021. I don't get to go to many actual games.
David Pollock
Is that when we went to the Kentucky game?
Brent Rollins
Yes, that's when we went to the Kentucky game. So that was the last time I was there. So I actually got a chance to go and see it in person. And you're right about Dowdle. And it's especially when you think about roles in the previous season. Like he's going to take the Josh McRae role, be the big back, short yardage guy, but he's a little bit more explosive and he brings a little, a little more of an element than McCrae at that room. I do still wonder about their run game from an explosive standpoint. I think their backs are gonna be really good.
David Pollock
Yeah.
Brent Rollins
But from a scheme and all the things that go with that, I do wonder if they could create explosives in the run game more so because they were a below average power four team in terms of creating explosive plays. But the tight end room I think was the, the story for me and the ability could be with Elias Williams, Kaden Prothero as a freshman, Ethan Barber, Riddell Lawson, Luckley already there. Like I, I think that's one because they only did it like 47 plays last year. I want to see more of the 13 personnel and see him using the throw grain in the throw game. I, I will say I'm also shocked you didn't mention your, your semi protege. In a way, Brooks Kamari looked really good. He used his hands so well in the past rush reps that he got
David Pollock
another North Oconee titan right down the road. Coach Kamari, since he was in third grade, me and Brent coached him in basketball as well. No, he looked, he looked good too.
Brent Rollins
But when we talk about one quick last thing.
David Pollock
Go ahead.
Brent Rollins
Is the, what's going to be. The difference for them is, is who's we talked about last year, who's great. I think Elijah Griffin and Talon Taylor look like players who want to be great. Like they want to be all SEC caliber type players, every rep type deal. Those are the two names to me that, that stood out because of the elite possibility like former five star recruits. But can they be that? I think they can.
David Pollock
Well, and here's the thing about the tight end room. When Brent talks about the tight end room, it's not that they're good. It could be the best tight end room in the country hands down. Like all of these guys that we just named, they're all going to play in the NFL. Like that's how good this room is. Like. And Elias Williams is the ultimate. What is he going to be? Because he can, he can change things so much. And, and I love the way he blocked by the way too. I just, he's committed to it. He's, he understands it. He's got a brain when he blocks. I love like working to the next level, understanding Leverage of the ball, where it's going. Like, there's some good things to really like. But you don't see very many mutants like that that are 6 foot 7 that you can split out. Like green from LSU. If you want to comp, it's going to be Green esque from lsu. Like, that's what you'll get. And here's the thing. If you got concerns with Gunner and you want to. How do you want to make things easier? How do you make life easy on. Throw to the tight ends, make it simple. Move him outside the pocket, use him in the run game. But when you got some monsters in the backfield, Glover's got to get some nasty back in him, just like he had last year, and get back on the field. And then you add in Helton, that offensive line, and Bobo is not even there. Drew Bobo is not even there, who's obviously proved his salt as one of the best in the country. Speaking of a spring game, a big spring game, obviously, we heard the big news. James Franklin coming to. Coming to, obviously, the Virginia Tech, you know, Lane Stadium rocking like one of the best atmospheres in college football. And then you saw the flyover this week because it was that big of a deal. And I think a lot of y' all saw what happened. I know my son asked me about it. So we wanted to bring the man on himself. We. We wanted to talk the man, the myth, the legend, which obviously, I'm not kidding when I say that, by the way, you unite a retired US Arm, special operations master sergeant, two purple hearts, a bronze star for valor. I mean, this dude's got a pretty good resume, man. And saving people and doing some great things. Palasha Palanker joining the conversation. My man. That was parachuting into Lane Stadium. That got caught on the storeboard, my man. It is good to see you being good boss. I introduced you correctly a little while ago. I want to make sure you hear me. Retired U.S. army, two Purple Hearts, a bronze star. Like not just. Not just a dude, but a dude. And I see. It's good to see you. It's good to see everything's okay. We saw in Virginia Tech, and we saw you get caught up on the scoreboard. Like, I just want to know. Obviously, a lot goes into all the planning with that stuff, but. But what happened with. With trying to land in the stadium and what went down.
Brent Rollins
So.
Pasha Palanker
So I. I have about a few dozen jumps into different stadiums, include Rose Ball, Stanford. You guys just talked about Stanford. Yeah, we train for all kinds of Things and we have limitations to where if the winds are above 14 knots at the lip of the stadium, we cancel them. On Saturday, winds were at 7 knots. Forecast look good. Everything looked good. We threw out wind drift indicators that show us what the winds are doing. But after we got out and as we started to approach the stadium, these wind shears came out of nowhere. And our first jumper landed. He was on a smaller canopy he could penetrate and he was able to get into the stadium. But then as myself and my teammate John were coming in, winds picked up a lot higher than what they were supposed to be and they were keeping me from penetrating getting into the stadium. So it looked like I was going to land in the stands. And that flag that I'm wearing is 1100 square feet anchored by 26 pound weight. If I land in the stands, I'm going to hurt some people, including myself. So I started to look for an alternate place to land and there was space right there right next to me. And as I started to look to turn, this wind shear came in. Wind shear is when the wind is coming from opposite direction and it creates this effect. And with that flag being as big as it is in my canopy, just picked me up and threw me into that scoreboard, into that Jumbotron. And.
David Pollock
And then what, man? Like how long? How long? Because obviously we all saw the clip but like you. Yeah, you were hanging. Like I, I mean I think everybody in the stadium was like, oh, what, what happened? Like what were you, what were you thinking and what happened next?
Pasha Palanker
Yeah, well, first thing that happened is I had the wind knocked out of me and it took me, I don't know how long it took me, but I, I couldn't, I couldn't catch my breath. And then I'm also kind of wrapped up in everything that's going on in me. Got myself together. Fortunately, I've been in situations like this before in combat and when you're in a, in a moment like that, the most important thing is not to panic. So assess the situation. I looked at, I was being held by this, by the jumbotron. I released the flag so it doesn't catch the air because those, those, those wind gusts kept coming. And I did what I could to make sure that the canopy does not get inflated and I don't get taken off because it was, it was a long way down and, but not enough time for the canopy to re. Re. Inflate. You know, I, I hung there, I think 15, 20 minutes. But to me that time stood still. You know, I just tried to stay present, not panic. You know, all kinds of stuff runs through your head. Did I mess up? Like what, what happened? He's thinking about my kids and is this my last John Paul? That kind of stuff.
David Pollock
So you definitely, you definitely get those, those, those thoughts and those feelings. How are we. I see the sling. How are we feeling today?
Pasha Palanker
I feel like a million bucks, man. It should have been so much worse.

Pasha Palanker
I feel, I feel blessed. This is, this is fifth time that I walk away from something that I should not have. Three of them were in combat and two of them now through, through jumping. And yeah, I have a sling, I have some shoulder issues and my back feels like I got hit by a, by a train. But I walked away. You know, I'm here.
David Pollock
It's good to see you walk away, man. It was, it was obviously one of the things that was posted everywhere. How many times did you get it sent to you?
Pasha Palanker
Oh,
David Pollock
I'm sure a ton. Well, I know you're also involved in helping veterans, man, because you've been through, you know, a lot in your, in your career and saved a lot of people and done a lot of cool things. What are some initiatives you guys are involved in and some ways that people can support?
Pasha Palanker
Well, it's, it's not, it's not really about initiatives. It's like what I appreciate you doing, this is like helping to get the message out. So as you mentioned earlier, I'm a two time Purple heart recipient, physically I've been wounded twice, recovered fine. But I was forced to medically retire because of my mental health, because I neglected it for years. I was just not aware. And then I was kind of underestimating the impact of it. And then the last few years, I was just afraid of the stigma associated with mental health. And I became. I became. And when you're struggling as a veteran, you feel like. And you feel like you're not being taken care of. You feel like a victim in that situation. And it's very understandable. But the problem is, when you're a victim, all you see is problems. And I had, like. Eventually I got to this place where I just started to go numb. I stopped caring about consequences. And I. And I got to a place where suicide was just logical. It just made sense. Your logic is flawed when you're in that space. But. But it made sense. I have four boys. I couldn't do it to them. I didn't know what else to do. So I. I got in my car and I drove myself to er and I spent time in a psych ward. And while at the psych ward, it was not pleasant, but it was necessary. My emotions settled down, and it just dawned on me that I was a victim. I was blaming, blaming, blaming. And then. Then I made a decision. I'm responsible. I volunteered to join. I volunteered to be in special Operations, to go on the deployments that I went. And as soon as I made that switch, instead of seeing the problem, I started to see solutions and I started to find out profits that could help me. I started to. To look for things that brought meaning to my life after I was medically retiring and jumping was one of them. And specifically jumping with a huge, like, 1100 square foot American flag. Thousands of people watching it. And for me personally, I'm an immigrant. I came here when I was 15. So it means so much to me to fly an American flag into a sporting event. And that's amazing.
David Pollock
That's cool, man. Hey, my question is, will we see you do it again?
Pasha Palanker
Absolutely.
David Pollock
That's what I'm talking about, baby. I appreciate the message, man. Pasha Palanker, he's not a victim. Good job. Hey, and thank you so much for your service to our country, man. And I'm glad we got to spend some time with you. The circumstance, not so well, but I'm glad you got to walk away from him. A man. Thank you so much for joining us.
Pasha Palanker
I appreciate you. David, thanks so much, man.
David Pollock
Be good platform.
Pasha Palanker
Take care.
David Pollock
Absolutely. Be great, brother. All right, man. That's pretty cool. Good to see. I love the. Love the message, too, but good to see him walk away. And I know y' all talked about it, y' all shared it, because we. We all saw it, and kind of everybody was like, oh, my gosh. And then how is it going to end? Michigan real quick wanted to touch on them. We all know Underwood. We. We all unfortunately hear about the numbers all the time, right? How much he's making, I think is something that. That goes. Goes around, and people talk about it all the time. And with that comes pressure. With that comes expectations. Bryce Underwood. You see the talent. I saw the spring game, and I just. I want to see it. I'm not saying spring games are everything. And then in all numbers, like, I'm saying not all three for nine performances are created equally. Right? Like. But I want to see the ball come out. I want to see the answers to the test. I want the feet to work with the arm. I want to see that there's. There's knowledge and it's continuing to grow and you can really, you know, function and continue to take those steps. And I saw was just with Tommy Carr, that's not what I. What I expected. I think Michigan is a contender for the playoffs. Obviously, the schedule is pretty tough, especially when you play Oklahoma at a conference, but they got to have Bryce Underwood be at their best. We know what Marshall is going to bring to the table. We know that Marsh is a ridiculously good receiver. We need Bryce Underwood to continue to elevate his game. And I'm not going to say that I'm panicked, but I was a. It gave me a little pause watching the spring game and seeing that the best quarterback on the field wasn't Bryce Underwood, even though I know the physical skills are absolutely insane. So I'm not jumping off ship. Blue. You know, Go blue. I'm still. I'm still in the corner. I still think you guys can do good things, but it did make me go, oof. Okay, I got. I got to pause for a second. All right, we got some numbers for you dudes. We got some numbers for the draft. The draft's around the corner, man. It's. What is it? Today's Monday. Like, we're going to have the draft. It's. So today's Monday, and then we're going to have the draft on Thursday. So it's literally right here. So, you know, the. The numbers man's going to have some numbers for you. What you got for me?
Brent Rollins
Well, first. Did you see that Herbie Went to the Michigan spring.
David Pollock
He's talking about Herb street and he was in the stands, but he was not in Michigan. I thought was absolutely fantastic. Listen, he was in the colors, but he was not in, you know, he did not have the big Michigan gear. And I, I, I respected it. I'm not gonna lie. I respect it. I, I get that. Like, I like the support for his son, but also get that.
Brent Rollins
So did you see now also with Michigan and we'll talk a little spring game real quick too. We got some time. It's a spring game. Like there's, there's a little bit of a. It's always just that it's situational, it's new offense, all the things that goes with that.
David Pollock
It's bland defense. I get it, I get it.
Brent Rollins
Or you can like Texas, Texas didn't necessarily play like football. I guess they kind of did some other things and it was like a fan day and some seven on seven stuff and I didn't see a kick return. I saw Miami played on what looked like a, like a wreck field or something. I was, It's a really small field. I couldn't really see that. But I also saw Chris Henry Jr. Did you see some his highlights, bro? He's with Ohio State. That's going to be.
David Pollock
Hey, Brian Hartline was fantastic. We recorded him for the pod. And I think Wes is it out yet.
Brent Rollins
That's, I think that went out earlier today. Yes.
David Pollock
Okay. It went out early today. It was, it was fantastic to listen to him. Brent talk about Jackson Smith and Jigma and by the way, Alave and all Garrett Wilson, all of them down the list. And I'm like, you know what makes these guys great? Jeremiah Smith, like the, to the fact that he like. I wrote down some notes when he was talking, actually, I think it's right here. But I said, I love what he said about route running. He was like, the objective is to keep it a secret as long as possible. And I was like, that's such a good way to say how to run routes and when you watch him. But like talking about Jeremiah Smith and what makes him great. That was on the pod. And listen, Ty Simpson was fantastic. Like we literally point blank asked him, did the money just at some point like go. Just make, did it make you go, I'm going to reconsider this?
Brent Rollins
Yes.
David Pollock
And he was like, when a certain school said, I'll make you the highest paid guy in all of college football.
Wesley
Yes.
David Pollock
It forced me to sit down and go, how much do I want to go to the NFL. So there's some good things on the channel for you guys if you want to go back and watch and then do all rate subscribe. Like Brent, all that stuff that I never talk about that I need to do a better job talking about. So do all that stuff, please.
Brent Rollins
Promotional things. Speaking of spring game numbers, did you see Byron Brown, Byron Brown's screen numbers from the Auburn spring game? He didn't see it. Well, was the quote from Coach Golish. And then the other one that was, I thought was interesting was we talked about it, but it was a thing in the spring game. Was Oklahoma's running game like that. That was a big topic of conversation. A lot of success and sort of a lot of positive vibes, even from Venables in terms of that.
David Pollock
Well, and here's the, you know. You know, the thing that's interesting about that is as a defensive coach like Venables is absolutely frothing at the mouth and he wants to shut you down. But the fact that his offense got to have some success, he's like, yes, like, this is good. I wonder how much he called defense to kind of maybe say, okay, we got to get a little this positive mojo going. By the way, I was on a show earlier and they asked, they asked me if Oklahoma was a contender for the playoff. I didn't bat an eye. I said yes. Do you? I don't. So just a news flash for you guys here. We don't do gambling. It's just not our thing. There's plenty of people that do. We're just not going to be one of them. What do you think the over under is for. For Oklahoma's win total this season? This blew my mind.
Brent Rollins
Was it eight and a half? Seven and a half.
David Pollock
Seven and a half.
Brent Rollins
Yeah. I was like, ten and a half is a large number. So, like, I would have, I would have thought eight and a half at most.
David Pollock
The dude, the team, they just went to the playoff. Their quarterback's back. We know their defense is going to be nasty. Like, we know that. So the, the receiving core is going to be better. The QB is going to be better. The offensive line's going to be better. Like, a lot of this points towards me towards. And listen, their schedule's tough. I, I get that. But I was kind of shocked when they, when they, when I heard that. I just did. It's not what I expected.
Brent Rollins
One last quick thing before we get to the numbers. Pasha was awesome. I do. And thank you, sir, for your service. If you're still listening, I Do wonder if like Franklin, James, Franklin reached out and like have him come to a game, lead him out on the field, that like that kind of stuff. Maybe that'd be great because that would be awesome. Anyway, all right, the draft week, by
David Pollock
the way, real quick about him. The dude was an act and he in one of his stops, like he stopped a suicide bomber and saved over 17 of his soldiers lives. Like not a little deal. That dude's a big deal. And I love, I loved his attitude too. But all right, give me some numbers. Numbers me. The draft is here baby.
Brent Rollins
Is this the year, is this the year that the 20 year run of dominance ends for the SEC? Because last year it was 77 to 71 versus the Big Ten. The SEC has the record for most round one picks. They have the 91 more round round one picks than the last 25 years for the Big Ten. Do you think this is the year that this, you know, that gets changed?
David Pollock
So here's the thing. What we know is it's flipped on the field and the big Ten is, is the, is the king. We know that. And that might not sit well with you. It might mean more to you at home, but it means more in the trophy case right now in the big Ten. Okay? And the interesting thing about the big Ten, they chose to go global, right? They chose to go coast to coast. The SEC is like we'll expand a little bit but like we're a regional sport and what's up baby?
Bretzky
It's bretzky. And I'm here to tell you that spinquest.com is giving out free sweeps coins. All you gotta do is purchase a ten dollar coin pack and guess what? They're gonna give you the coins from a thirty dollar coin pack that lets you play all your favorite games like Blackjack, Wanted, Dead or wild. And we're talking real cash prizes, baby.

When you talk about this, Brent, something to note too. They only have 16 teams, the eight. The Big Ten has 18. So yeah, that's an advantage whether you like it or not, which includes USC
Brent Rollins
and Oregon way far. Correct.
David Pollock
But here's what I'll guarantee you. I don't know about the numbers. I think the numbers will be pretty close. I know the Big Ten will have more first round picks.
Pasha Palanker
Yeah.
David Pollock
That I'm 100% sure of. Because the upper echelon of those guys, it. You see a lot of Ohio State,
Brent Rollins
you're going to see top 10.
David Pollock
Yes. You're going to see some Oregon, you're going to see Indiana. Like you're going to see, obviously the list goes on and on, but you're going to see a lot of the Big Ten and I think the higher picks, they're going to have more first round picks than any other league.
Brent Rollins
I looked at the consensus board, current consistent board, so takes all the, you know, Daniel, Jeremiah's, McShays, all those guys that do draft boards. It's like, okay, average numbers.
David Pollock
And where do you find that? That's pretty cool.
Brent Rollins
I can, I can send it to you.
David Pollock
That's pretty awesome. I like that. I didn't know there was a consensus board.
Brent Rollins
Yes. And teams use it very much so in terms of looking at where they think kids might get drafted. But the Big Ten has 12 of the top 40 on the current consensus board.
David Pollock
The SEC, how many?
Brent Rollins
12 of 40 and the SEC has 13. So it's going to be close in terms of round one. Just depends on who gets up there. And maybe one that we're going to talk about here in a little bit. The other thing with the SEC, something that hasn't happened in 20 years might happen. They might not have a top 10 pick. In 2016 and 2018, they had one. And the last year without a top 10 pick was 2006. The first SEC player that was picked that year was Jay cutler at number 11. And then the previous year, Auburn had three in the top 10. Your, your draft year in 2005. So like that, that's them not having a top 10 pick. Like if you look at a lot of mock drafts, Monroe Freeling maybe is, is potentially top 10 or Delane from LSU. Like those are the two that you see more often than there.
David Pollock
I could, I could, I could really see Delane at 9. I mean the Chiefs, they, they, they said, hey man, do you want our starting corner? Do you want our other corner? Like they kind of gave theirs away. So I could see that being a high pick.
Brent Rollins
All right, so you talked to Ty Simpson. That's we're going to go over, under here. Over under one and a half quarterbacks in round one on Thursday night. Basically the question is just this. Does Simpson get picked in the first round?
David Pollock
He does. I would. I understand the concerns because that number at 25 starts in college is a big deal. It's not a little deal. There's no guys that have been very. There's no guys that have been successful in the NFL with less than 25 starts. So that's a real thing. I saw a lot of really good with this kid. A lot. There's a lot to really like about this kid. The toughness you've got to take into account the lack of running game. It was non. It was not there, bro. It was absolutely atrocious. And he had to do it. He had to put it on his shoulders even while he was getting dinged around and hit you. Nobody attacked the middle of the field better than him like that. That dude could do that dude. That dude could do that. And you have to do that in that league. This is the college football is about helping you. You can mask those weaknesses a little bit and, and no, but nobody wants to throw because when you throw over the middle again over a linebacker can hit the safety under you miss a receiver under throw receiver. It can hit a linebacker right in the chest. That's where the biggest mistakes are made. He could do it, man. And the first half of the season that dude was a clinic tape. What he did to Georgia in Sanford Stadium, like what he did on that run when he beat three or four, four ranked teams in a row was. Was sensational. Now it definitely. He got dinged and it fell off. But there's a lot to like, there's a lot of good. And remember about when. When you go up into the first round and you take a kid, you get the fifth year option and that's a big deal. Like from a business standpoint, I'm okay with giving up a little capital to make sure I year because that extra year is big time. Do I think it's going to be immediate? Do I think it's going to be immediate impact? No, I do not. I think it'll take some time. I still think he's got to marinate a little bit. He's got to get a little married. In the south we call little Mary Aid. But I do think the kid is tough. The kid's got a really good arm. I liked It, I asked him too, because I had the Mel Kuiper, you know, arms thing that ticked me off. I asked him what picked you up? What ticked him off? And he had a great answer. Like he had a bunch of things. He had a list of people that he wanted to, you know, stick it up the hanky to. But, but it was really, really good. So I will say that it's, I will say that it's two.
Brent Rollins
Okay, jets at number two. Arvell Reese. David Bailey. Somebody else.
David Pollock
David Bailey. I think David Bailey. I think Arvell Reese. You see the, the, the greatness. You see the, you see that he could do some really, really special things and you see the player that's really good. David Bailey. I know what he is. I know what I'm getting. That dude's got a great first step. He's got a repertoire of moves. He continues to hunt. I love the way he plays the game and that first step, man, it's just really good. So I think the jets will take him and that's the first inflection point, right? That's the first pick that probably affects other people's picks and so on.
Brent Rollins
All right, so Jeremiah Love, a lot of people actually have him as the top player in the draft on their board just independent of position. I'm going to put the over under for his draft slot at five and a half. So basically, is he a top five pick? Because over the last 15 years you had eight go in the top 10.
David Pollock
You've had, okay, Bijan Jabari Gibbs last year.
Brent Rollins
Don't forget last year.
David Pollock
Well, I'm just saying like in the past that was because that there was a couple year run and then last year you had Mr. Boise state himself who carries squad.
Brent Rollins
Yeah, not give.
David Pollock
This was 12, gives us 12. And then Hampton last year was in the 20s, so that was way down the list. But it was still a first round pick. We've had the backs have had some first round picks by the way. Like it's not, it's not completely top 10.
Brent Rollins
It's only eight in 15 years, top five. It's four in 15 years. So basically, do you think Jeremiah Love ends up being a top five pick?
David Pollock
I do, I do. And I know that's. It doesn't make business sense because running backs don't get broke off like the other guys and you can get positional value later. There's one game changing back in this draft. There's one. It's Love. That's it. Jadarian Price is really, really good. And I love some things about him, but there's one guy that doesn't move like a human. Like, this is him. He's a freaking freak. I mean, he's unbelievable. So I think that love is that important, is that good, that big of a playmaker. I don't think he takes a back seat to Bijan. I don't think he takes a backseat to, to all these first round picks that we've talked about in those top 10 guys. I don't think he takes a back seat, man.
Brent Rollins
I don't, I, I don't think he was top five. I could see him maybe being in latter half of ten, but not necessarily top five. All right, two more sleeper quarterback. So after Simpson and Mendoza, you've got the group of Carson, Beck, Drew Aller, Cole Payton, Taylor, Green Club, Nick, others. Who's one guy that is after those two that you're like, okay, in a couple years that guy might be a starter in the league.
David Pollock
Oof. I don't love any of, I don't love any of them to be a starter, but probably Cole Payton. I mean, he's got enough, at least
Brent Rollins
like one name I didn't mention for me is Nussmeier. Like, I saw a thing where he had like a. It was a disc issue that was causing nerves and the pain.
David Pollock
Like he was Jack.
Brent Rollins
He was obviously messed up big time.
David Pollock
Yeah. I think Nuss Meyer actually would be a good one because you've seen it like, you've seen him make NFL throws consistently. So I guess, I think that's, I think that's a good one. I think, I think yours is actually better. I think Nuss Meyer, if you're going to ask me, I haven't seen Aller play at that level. I haven't seen those other guys make the throws that he's made. So I'd go, nussmeier. That's a great call.
Brent Rollins
All right. So have you watched the movie Draft Day with Kevin?
David Pollock
I watched. Okay. I watched it again the other day, but. Okay. Do you have movies that you turn off like, that you don't like the ending?
Brent Rollins
Huh?
David Pollock
I mean, I'm just asking question. Okay, no, like Million Dollar Baby. I will not watch that ever again. Like, I love that movie, but the ending is so depressing. Like, absolutely not. Screw you. I'm not watching that. I'm turning like, if it's on, I'm turning it off because I don't like the ending. There's a lot of movies that I have like that where I'm not watching the ending. So I thought Draft day was that, but I was at spring break with my buddy Brad Williams, and we were watching it and I was like, man, I don't love the ending to this movie. He's like, what do you mean? It's a great ending. I was like, not really. Because it didn't really. He didn't win in the end, and I wanted him to win. He was like, yeah, he did. But I think the first. I think the first. I think the first time I turned it off because I got ticked off that when he. When he. But so I didn't see the whole ending. But yes, it was. It's a great movie. It was fantastic. And don't turn it off because it's actually good at the end.
Brent Rollins
Okay, so in the movie, you remember the post it note.
David Pollock
Oh, yeah.
Brent Rollins
No matter what. Vonte Mack.
David Pollock
Vonte Mack.
Brent Rollins
All right, so who is. Who is David Pollock's 2026 NFL Draft post it note? No matter what guy give me d'
David Pollock
Angelo pawns, like, way down the list. But he's going to be a superstar in the league no matter what. I don't. No matter what his size kick rocks. That dude is going to play for a long time at a stupid high level. And everybody's gonna be like, why did he slip to the 20s? Why did he slip so far down? Oh, wait, he's not tall enough. She go watch that dude play football.
Brent Rollins
All right, I like Caleb Downs is a great one there. But all the one for me was Jacob Rodriguez. I think that guy's going to be. I just think he's like, you like Bonds made of the right stuff. And I like that underrated athletic. I think he's going to be in the league for a long time.
David Pollock
Yeah.
Brent Rollins
Play really, really well. So that's it. That's what. We got numbers on the NFL draft. We'll have to see what's there.
David Pollock
All right, now you know. Now you know what's coming. We go into podium kings, baby. This is. Wesley's going to have it fired up and we get some sounds. Or are we going. Are we going off the beaten path a little bit? Are we going to a different sport, a round ball?
Wesley
We are. And the quintessential. When I think of a podium king, it's Jalen Brunson right here. And I know we got maybe we have two or three Hawks fans watching the show each week, but. But you love petty. And it doesn't get more petty than this, man. Perfection.
David Pollock
Do you guys feel like you're built to win either way at this point. Yeah.
Pasha Palanker
Someday I'm gonna get a two word answer from you. Yes, sir.
David Pollock
There we go. That's good. There we go.
Wesley
I mean, is that just not beautiful execution right there?
David Pollock
I watch the NBA. I know I'm alone from some people, but like, Jalen Brunson's always got that. He's got something about him. He's got that dog in him. He's just got that. He's. But he's got the seriousness, right? Like he's definitely. He. He's definitely the guy that doesn't. He doesn't need a lot of words. He's all business. He wants to play. And that dude, he shouldn't be that good. He's like 6ft tall and he's not a freak athlete, but he dominates. It's. It's fun to watch. That's fantastic, though.
Wesley
That reminded, like that quick wit right there too. This is probably a throwback and I know Brent will appreciate this, but that's like Yogi Berra esque. Just the quick wit one liner, and he knew he nailed it. If you go back and watch it. All right, this next one is not really a true podium king, but it's an Internet podium king. So we've talked about Ty Simpson. We've had Caleb Downs on the show, and Ty was on Caleb and he was on Downs the business. Okay. Both the Downs brothers host the show and Brian Haynes reacted to Ty Simpson saying that Indiana's defense doesn't really do anything special on film. And I'll let you comment on that in a minute. But Coach Haynes, the DC for Indiana says, adorable. We also saw everything they were doing on every single snap is just that we exploited those cues and didn't get frozen and crushed by them. Obviously Indiana has the bragging rights and the flip side of the coin. That was kind of a compliment, was it not, from Ty? Because Caleb agreed with him too.
David Pollock
Yeah, yeah.
Wesley
They don't do anything special, but they just.
David Pollock
They just execute on a high level. They play zone the majority of the snaps. They twist, they stunt. Like, there's not a lot of. There's not a lot that confuses the mess out of. You know, they do confuse you a little bit, but, man, I am so here for. For Bryant Haynes. I love it, man. Take those shots. Like, absolutely. Defend yourself when you feel like it because this is such good material for us. And this is back. Like, I just. I love when rivalries used to be awesome and people used to get ticked off at each other and people used to say things. And I'm just hoping that we get more of this. Like, this is. This is amazing. I love the way he took it and he got. I love the way that it mattered. He's like, wait a minute. You're going to slight me? Like, we want your ace. Like, we took you behind the woodshed. We knew what the heck you were doing. So if we want to break this down and what it really meant, what Coach Haynes said was like, y' all were a bunch of booger eaters. We knew exactly what you were doing. We want your freaking ace. Y' all froze up. Y' all had no answers to the test. Y' all sat there and had no answers. You couldn't use chat gbt. We took your phone and we beat y' all freaking ace. That's what he said.
Wesley
We need a Grok Pollock translator that takes out all the cuss words, turns them into booger eaters and ace and mother freaking last one. I think this one here from Matt Fitzpatrick is going to challenge your notion that you can't get fired up playing golf. I always hear you talk about that when you're. When we have guests on. It's a. It's a sport that sucks because you can't get fired up and motivated and you can't play harder. Listen to Matt Fitzpatrick here responding after he wins, by the way, at the RBC Heritage. Responding to the USA fans that were chanting usa. Adam pulling for Scotty. They went to the playoff, but Matt got the dub.
Matt Fitzpatrick
They're supporting Scotty. That's great. You want golf to have an atmosphere, in my opinion. I grew up watching football, you know, I pay so much money to. To be out there in front of those crowds, having them chanting you every week. It's. It's great feeling. There's no better feeling than coming out on top against that pretty solid.
David Pollock
No better feel. By the way, did you. And I watched it because I felt bad for the. I can't talk like him because the accent's absolutely fantastic. But I felt bad for him when he went to the playoff. Like, there was chance. Like the usa and it looked like it rattled him. He bogey late. Like, it looked like it messed him up a little bit. And then you go to the playoff, like, you go with the undertaker. Like, who do you not want to see? The only. The guy you don't want to see the most, the closer is Scotty, because Scotty don't care. Like, he's just gonna play and he's usually better than you. And dude hit like a 25 foot, maybe a 20 foot putt to end it and went like this. A little ear flip at the end. And I was literally like, that's the. That's the. That's the football equivalent to this. Like, hey, yeah, up your hanky. Like Mr. Fitzpatrick, like, Matt, I'm a fan already, brother. I love that you love the atmosphere. I love that you love football. That was absolutely fantastic. You. You stared at the green grim reaper like you went into overtime, extra holes, whatever you call it in golf with the grim reaper, and you. And you somehow stayed alive. That was amazing. So tip of the cap to you. You could have said you won the weekend, but who won the weekend? That we do this every single week. Brent doesn't have one yet, so I want to be surprised. Brent Rollins. What? Who won the weekend for Brent Rollins?
Brent Rollins
So first, there was one podium king that I thought you would have enjoyed. That I've got bookmarked as a fun one. If you saw Brent Keys comments and I'll do my best. Pollock lingo here, his quote was, I get to have exit meetings Monday and not have to worry about their aces going somewhere else.
David Pollock
I like that. And dude, these coaches are so much happier. Like, the fact that they don't. The fact that they just went through spring and they got a good idea of what their roster is and they don't have to worry about who's leaving like they are enjoy. They're going to enjoy their summer so much more. Their lives are going to. There's years live added to their lives. So, I mean, you're. He's 100% right. Who won the weekend, homie?
Brent Rollins
Freaking Atlanta Braves went into Philadelphia and swept the Phillies for the first time in a decade. Outscored him 16 to 3. They have the second best record in the MLB at the moment. Acuna still hasn't really done much. I told you.
David Pollock
I told you. I knew it.
Brent Rollins
You didn't say Major League Baseball.
David Pollock
No, get out of here. I. I said when, Brent. Look, when we have this doc, it's called Google Dots. I've never seen it before the show. I know most of y', all, like, actually did this for school and stuff. And so in there it says Brent and it doesn't have anything. And I knew I said it to him to start the show. What's your. Did you. Do you have a. Who won the weekend? He was like, yeah, I got one for you. I was like, I know. It's baseball, isn't it? He's like, it's baseball.
Brent Rollins
Baseball, yeah. Because, hey, summer life.
David Pollock
Are we good?
Brent Rollins
The Braves are good.
David Pollock
What's. What's our record?
Brent Rollins
15 and. Or might be 16 and 7 now. Yeah, 16 and 7.
Pasha Palanker
Okay.
David Pollock
We got. Do we have good pitching to make this last?
Brent Rollins
Yes.
David Pollock
Yes.
Brent Rollins
They're good.
David Pollock
We're a Super bowl contender. Or, excuse me, a World Series contender.
Brent Rollins
I mean, yes. Yeah, I think so. Very much so. All right, Wesley, we're fun when the Braves are good.
David Pollock
Yes. Life is better with the Braves. I do agree with that. I do agree with that. Wesley, you want me to go? You ready to go?
Wesley
All right. My kids won the weekend. Big weekend over here for the Blankenship kids. So my parents took both of our little ones to G Day, and my son is three. Ryan loves Spider Man. Everything is Spider Man. He has to be Spider Man. Every time we're playing, I have to be a villain. I'm not allowed to be Spider Man. So I'm thinking, all right, good. He's going to G Day. He's decided he wants the red team to win because they wear Spider man colors. So I'm like, he's finally going to get, like, a little bit of a break, maybe like, put something else in his mind. Except for Spider Man. And who does the kid see at the game? Spider Man.
David Pollock
Absolutely. Look. Oh, my homegirl's doing it too, though.
Wesley
Yeah. So I'm talking about. So Ryan won that part of the weekend.
David Pollock
Okay.
Wesley
Big win for.
David Pollock
Does Kate get a shot out or no?
Wesley
Big win for Kate, Okay?
David Pollock
She.
Wesley
She has entrusted her life to our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. So that was a big weekend.
David Pollock
Wow, that's weird. That is. I wish we had a clapping. Like, we need one of those clapping things on the, on the mic. That would be fantastic. Worthy.
Brent Rollins
Where's the sound effect?
Wesley
Yep, very much.
David Pollock
That is. That is awesome. What? Kate, I, I. You don't get to. You don't get to hear this, Kate, because this is. I dropped too many Mother freakers and Son of a. Guns and aces. But, hey, there we go. We are happy for Kate. That's. That's awesome.
Brent Rollins
And.
Wesley
And she learned how to ride her bike without training wheels. Just a huge. I don't know how we're gonna come back or, or come back from this
David Pollock
one that we can. Hey. So. So I'm watching Nicholas when he's probably three or four, you know, in the front yard, five years old maybe. So at our old house, the. We literally. So you had the circle in the front, and then it fell off a cliff on the side. Like it was just Off a cliff. I'm in my closet looking out, and my baby doll's out there with Nicholas. And he's riding his bike in circles. And I'm literally watching. And all of a sudden he's watching. And then my wife stops paying attention for a second. He goes. And he goes off the cliff. And I'm talking about. It's like a 45 degree and it's just tumbling wheel over wheel. And I'm in my closet laughing my head off, and my wife realizes it and runs down the hill. And then we found out he broke his arm.
Safeway/Albertsons Advertiser
Arm.
Wesley
There you go.
Pasha Palanker
Hey.
David Pollock
And then he's riding his bike, and I'm like. My wife's like, you can't let him ride his bike with a broken arm. I'm like, he's got a cast. Like, what could. What could go wrong? Who cares? Falls off, hits his other arm. I thought we were going to be like one of the movies with two casts, but thank God he didn't. He didn't.
Wesley
And he ride a bike today?
David Pollock
Yes. Oh, he loves riding bikes. Yeah, he loves riding bikes. Now, Cameron Rollins would be another topic for another day. He did learn, but. All right, who won the weekend for me? We've had this coach on here, hadn't we? Like, we've had Mr. Cow. We've had that guy on here. And how about the spring game? Babies. Cows. Blue and gold game at Memorial Stadium. And we had Tosh lapoy not long ago on there, but I love when the team does that stuff. But unforgettable moment. Xander Jones. You heard it. Xander. Xander. He's. He's autistic and the younger brother of the linebacker, actually, B.J. jones. And so he got a chance to. To get in the end zone. And I love when everybody gets involved and they celebrate and carry him on. So. Hey, another great show, man. Another fantastic show. How about Pasha? Awesome to have him on the show. You saw that this weekend. Appreciate him joining us. Covered some games, covered all kinds of stuff. If you like our content, man, do the. The, like, the rate subscribe stuff. We continue to grow. We appreciate y'.
Safeway/Albertsons Advertiser
All.
David Pollock
We will back here, be back here Wednesday and might have another surprise guest for you. And obviously the draft right around the corner, but college football edging closer and closer. Appreciate y'.
Brent Rollins
All.
David Pollock
See y' all.
