Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
And how about that Pollock interception in the end zone?
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Well, it's David Pollock and I think people are going to learn what kind of ball player he is. He's got a heart of a line. I'm real proud of that kid. This is C Ball. Get Ball, college football's top show for football analysis, predictions and coach interviews. Now here's your host, three time All American, seven time Emmy Award winner. What up dudes? Welcome in to Seball. Get Ball. This is. This has been a wild week eight and we knew it could be. We knew it started off that way too. With Miami starting the weekend off on Friday and the trend continues. Look at the look at the undefeateds today that continue to fall and who you're cheering for obviously matters, but Georgia knocks off obviously Louisville started the weekend like I said, Georgia knocks off Ole Miss, Arizona State beats Texas Tech, BYU and Utah still wrapping up. But it's been. I think you start with the the good old fashioned Big 12 game. I mean, this is, this is, this is fantastic because, you know, I remember the, the years where we made fun of Mahomes and Mayfield going at it and all the points. And if you watch the, the Ole Miss Georgia game, like, it felt exactly like that. I mean, it was wild. Like, it was absolutely wild. The fact that you had every possession go for a score until you got to the fourth quarter, literally until you got to the fourth quarter. And Trinidad Shambis has been a huge story throughout the season. People wondered, coming from Ferris State, like, I think the largest crowd he ever played in front of was like 16,000 people. And he goes in front of 100,000 people at Stanford Stadium and he does all right. I mean, just spitting the ball out, getting it out quick. Georgia's pass rush, not really a thing for him. He's taking care of business. 10 straight scoring drives for Georgia and for Ole Miss to start that game. Ten straight. Like, it was crazy. The only difference in the first half and why Ole Miss was leading. Georgia got the ball first. Georgia kept a couple of field goals. Ole Miss didn't. So it was 21 to 20 at the half and then more of the same. You know, it's interesting. Bobo gets a lot of heat. He gets talked about with this offense. But it's pretty clear if you're watching Georgia, there's, there's, there's one problem that pretty much consistently happens, and it's their defense. And obviously early in games has been. Has been an issue. Now this time the offense showed up in the first half, so it very much kept Georgia in it. But Gunner Stockton was, was incredible. Like, it went from Gunner Stockton, and his QBR is actually one of the top five in the, in fbs, which is, I think people would say that's, that's kind of crazy that it's that high. And you'd be kind of surprised, but he was unbelievable. He was 12 of 12 in the second half. He was. Overall, he was 26 of 31. Gunner Stockton threw for, for 348. He ran for 59 and a score. And the Georgia offense, man, just kept rolling, kept rolling, kept throwing body blows, you know, ran way more plays. In the end. Georgia's defense, you know, they got him to punt in the fourth quarter, and that was, that was the first time that there was a punter that walked on the field for either team. Literally in the fourth quarter, they get the stop. And then I guess, you know, one of the, one of the biggest things that you, that you have to look at is when the way they're running the football and the way they run body blows. This was. This was the most complete we've seen Georgia's offense. And I say that because Gunner. Gunner was spinning it. They were running the. They were running the quick game out wide like they always do with Branch. Kobe Young gets hurt after the. The first deep ball. They were faking the screens. But. But something weird happened for Georgia. Georgia's got tight ends. It's weird. I know it's crazy, but the tight ends showed up. Lucky has a hat trick. Delp has a big play. Like, they started incorporating the middle of the field a little bit more. You know, Branch shows you he's not just a gadget guy. Like, they're throwing back. Shoulder fades to him. He had a couple of deep balls down the field. The offense stayed hyper aggressive. They stayed super balanced. They ran the football. So I. I think that form of Georgia's offense when. When you get the run game going, multiple backs that run the ball so flipping hard. Gunner Stockton, that can run it now that they're protecting the offensive line, which was another combination because Green comes back at right tackle. The tight ends involved the receivers. I mean, that. That offense, it was. It was the best version of Georgia's offense that you've seen. 510 yards didn't take the foot off the gas. And I think the. The question becomes, hey, Brent, is it more likely that Gunner Stockton now is in the Heisman conversation? Because beginning of the year, everybody's like, wait a minute. I see the deficiencies. I see what he can't do now. And we still see those. I mean, sometimes you still see there's.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Two or three game.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
There's two or three a game, but the dude just carried his team against the top five team in the country. So when you do that, I guess. I guess you answer some of the questions and you say, he's close. He's closer to Heisman than. He's getting closer to benched. I mean, and in the beginning of the season, obviously, that was something that we were talking about.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Very much so. And this is. I think it actually has gotten to the point now where. The point that I made in the preseason leading up to the season when we talked about I thought Georgia would get better quarterback play but not be as talented at the position. And today, I think, was the definition of that, where Bobo is doing phenomenal things and just dialing up winner after winner after winner, except for one play. And he went from, like, hated person.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
To half back Toss in the red zone.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
The Cash Jones near the goal line kind of.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Okay, so let's talk about that play real quick because Ole Miss ran the same play and it worked. So the difference is one worked and one didn't. The only thing I would say is if I'm watching, if I'm watching Georgia and Cash Jones is in the game, it's probably an outside run or a pass. Very rarely are you going to give them the ball at the middle unless it's fourth and two against Alabama on a quick count. But anyways, I digress.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Right after that though, was a beautiful play call to get the. I think it was the first touchdown to Lucky. But that, that's what Gunner did today and just working within the offense and then taking the deep shots and hitting a few. The one to Bell, the one to Colby Young, like that's, that's the best version of Georgia's offense, like you said. And I think the Ernest Green returning and having that depth to where they can rotate Juan Gaston in at guard a little bit, rotate him at right tackle some and move those guys around with the running game. McCrae, the big time fourth down run.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
From McCrae, that, that was probably one of. That was your effort, biggest run of the game because that was late in the third quarter with like a minute left at that point. It's a nine point game and he had no business getting that first down. Like, that was all I'm a dog, like, and I'm not going to go down. They put him at fullback, they run him the football again. Nine point game, he's hitting the backfield, he falls forward, gets two yards. Seven plays later, Nate Fraser catches a touchdown. Next thing you know, you look up and, and now it's a ballgame. But it's crazy, man. It's still crazy to watch. Georgia's defense still doesn't have a lot of answers and I think that's not going to change. But here's the thing, guys, you're not going to play Ole Miss every week. Like, and that's, that's the thing about matchups. Styles make fights. You know, Trinidad, his heart rate was so good. His running ability when he gets in the red zone is so good. But Trinidad blinked a couple times and he missed a couple of open receivers. And here's the thing, Georgia made him pay once he did that. Like they shut down the run game. They gave up zero points in the fourth quarter. They had 11 plays on, almost at 11 plays for 13 yards in the fourth quarter. Like, that's insane. That's nuts. So Georgia still does what they always do. They don't blink. Like, they find a way in the end, they bat a couple balls down on the last possession to get a stop, and next thing you know, you look. And they got some pressure, too. Like. But. But here's another thing, too, I like about the defense, Brent. There's two things. One, C.J. allen's a superstar. He's a superstar. Like, he's. He's the best thing on the defense. And to me, it's not close. There's not a close second. Two, I like the hockey waves. I like the hockey shifts. Man, I want. I want to keep doing this. I want to keep running people in and out, because in this era with all these guys that you have, like, you might as well do that and keep everybody happy, keep everybody fresh.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
And.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
And the difference between everybody that's rushing the passer, it's not like it's great. It's not like there's a big drop off. So I love the way they continue to rotate guys to piggyback on that.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
I would say I like it everywhere, every level of their defense. Because outside of C.J. allen and outside of likely K.J. bolden, anybody on the defense, should they definitively be on there every single play?
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Yeah. Six should be on there the most.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
I mean, yes. Saw this first, the second half, but yes.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
I didn't say. I didn't say he wasn't going to get beat, but so is everybody else on that in that.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
That's what I'm saying. So when you're going to rotate those guys, though, like that. Hey, good. But you talked about Trinidad making the misses. It was the first. It was first and 10. Georgia rushes three, and he was trying to hit the tight end, number eight, and he threw it short at his feet. And then on the third down on that play, he did something that. I wonder if teams moving forward are going to coach their quarterbacks a little bit differently. It was the slot fade that Demelo Jones 15, broke up. And Trinidad tries to throw a dime and puts it, drops it right in the bucket. And that's how George is defending those passes versus the under throws, where you get PI after PI after PI. So I. I bet you're going to see a lot of those teams almost purposely under throw a lot of those.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Balls now, because it's the hardest ball to defend. Now, here's what I'll say, though. If you under throw those balls and if you play the ball correctly, which I'm not seeing a lot of that around the country. Like there's not a lot of really good cornerback play period. But if you under throw those, obviously that's a pick. If I get my head around I got a chance to really make a pick. How about this is the first time ever in Kirby Smart's career that they scored on every that the defense didn't get a stop in the first half. Didn't get one stop. Like first time ever. And Lane versus Two weeks to figure it out. They got two weeks to figure it out. Lane versus Kirby was was incredible. Peyton Woodring continues to be a guy that is so dependable for Georgia. Like you just kind of, you just kind of count that he's going to make it like a 51 yarder. It's like it's going in. I think he he had like a 40 for 42 stretch or something. That's just stupid. So like having that is is big time. Maybe we'll see this as a replay or as a as a repeat game. I don't know. But Ole Miss has Oklahoma next game which is don't let don't let Georgia beat you twice.

Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
I'll be interested to see how they rebound. But that defense, man, they had to, they had to stay on the field for a long, long time. And you could tell they got, they got exhausted. And here's another thing to tip of the cat, man. Gunner barely practiced this week. Like, he barely practiced. The fact that he goes out there, not only that he runs the football like he does, he's not scared, he continues to take shots. Like the dude's just got something to him. He might not be the best quarterback you've ever seen, but everything about his heart and who he is, you can get behind and run.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Was the best run of his career. The one for the touchdown, like 22 yards when he pulled it makes the quick, pulls it and it makes the quick instant move.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Yeah, but I didn't like grass. The ball went out here. I didn't like that part of it. You got to any better ball security, that was, that was not okay.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
It was, it was impressive, as it gets from him, that's for sure.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Well, speaking of impressive, a guy in Arizona State, Sam Levitt, like this guy, man, we've talked about him. We've talked about him all year. We talked about him all off season and we talked about how good he is. And this week he showed you Sam Levitt. And remember, they're playing Texas Tech. Texas Tech has not trailed in a football game this season. And I loved, I absolutely loved Arizona State's game plan. You say, well, Texas Tech, they're really, really good. The defensive line, we talk about them all the time. Arizona State's banged up like crap like they're banged up all across the. They're banged up in the front, they're banged up at running back. And they did an unbelievable job of putting the ball in their best player's hands of Sam Levitt and said, throw the rock, dude. Just throw it, man. He threw it 47 times. Like you, you want to beat that pass rush, get the ball out of your hands. You know what else he did?
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
He threw it quickly.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
He threw it quickly and he scrambled when he needed to. He extended drives. They threw the screen game like the defense, which Arizona State was an embarrassment against Utah. They struggled like crazy. And Texas Tech comes in hot as can be, averaging almost 50 a game and 550 yards. Dude, 22 points, 276 yards. And Brett, you were wrong and I was wrong. We were both wrong. Will Hammond was not that dude. Will Hammond struggle was exceptionally average. And if you had Morton, you probably would have made the decision to switch back to him because the moment was big. I've seen enough of him to know he's athletic. I've seen some big time throws. But he was flustered early. He drifted. He took sacks like the run game even with him. And design runs were not good. They scored 15. They scored 15 points in a minute 40 Texas Tech to. To take the lead somehow. You actually, you know how. Because Arizona State kick field goals. Consistently move the ball down the field and kick field goals like they should have destroyed Texas Tech. They should have put it on him. But they kept kicking field goals instead of getting any form of a touchdown.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
The fourth down play from Levitt to Jordan Tyson. Just the two teammates where he scrambles and Tyson rolls around on that last drive. On the last drive line. Absolutely phenomenal. What do you think of the roughing the passer call.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
I hate roughing the passer on fourth down. I don't know why, but I feel like the play's over. But I. Unless it's really bad, I didn't think it was blatant. Listen, I didn't either. The roughing the passers have gotten out of control. Like I just, I don't want to. If it's rough in the passer and you hit him up high and you hit him hard, it should be roughing the passer. Otherwise like I'm out. But you talk about, you talk about a break. They get the roughing the passer on fourth and goal that they miss. Because I think Dillingham was like this. This is just ridiculous. I'm not doing this. I'm not kicking another Field goal. We've kicked four, and they go for it. They get the roughing, the passer. Then they fumble the next play. Arizona State. Tyson falls on it, and then they score a touchdown. They fumble the next possession and they recover. Like Arizona got. Arizona State got some breaks too. That were. That were big time.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
But.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
But in the end, man, Sam Levitt getting the ball like you're down with two minutes left and you need to go down the field to make it happen, and you put it in his hands and he does that. That was fun to watch, man. That's the Sam Levitt coming into the season that we thought we would see consistently and more often. And it was running, it was throwing, it was. Jordan Tyson, not surprising, was the main target. But, man, that. That dude's got some serious acceleration. Like, when he takes off, like, he's like shot out of a cannon and he just makes plays like you talked about on that scramble. And he was. He was the. He was the best player on the field. And that. That was big time.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
And what tip of the cap to Dillingham for realizing that he knew he had to have Superman, Sam Levitt in this game and sat him next week. Because the way the standings and the way the schedule works out, like, I. I don't see them, I mean, at Iowa State is going to be a very tough game for them. Even home versus. Like, home versus Houston will still be a tough game.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Yeah.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
I think you can win those games. And they went out like they're in the big. They should, I'm quite certain, be in the Big 12 championship game, because since Cincinnati and BYU play each other.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Yep.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
So, like, that was a win they absolutely had to have, and they got it. And now they're in the driver's seat, I think.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
And Texas Tech, I don't think they need to be worried either. Like, I know you lost, but, like, they got Oklahoma State, Kansas State, ucf, West Virginia. Like, it's not the greatest schedule in the world.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Before you get to why you at home? So, like, why you at home?
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
I think they're still very much. They're very much good.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
They got to be a repeat game for the championship.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
They got. They gotta. They gotta figure out what's. What's going on at qb because. Because that was. We were wrong on that. Like, I thought I'd seen enough to. Of Will Hammond, and that was just. That was an uninspiring performance. The whole offense was terrible. They've been running the football really, really well. They couldn't run the football. They Struggled throwing. They struggled with everything. I mean, it was just. It was ungood.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
They became like everybody except Ohio State. They had a bad day.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Yeah, it was. It was ungood. It was like, yeah, Miami had a bad day, too. And then. All right, well, there's still games going on, which is. Which is fun, which is. Which is cool because we can. We can watch our friend Adam Rooks explode in the chat. But this is C ball. Get ball. Thank you for joining us. We're gonna. We're gonna go in depth every single week on this, guys. Like, we're gonna touch almost every single game and try to give you as much information as you possibly can because you can't watch all these games. It's hard to. But we do. And me and Brent are losers, and me and West Britain losers. That's what we do. So we go in depth. If y' all want to rate, subscribe, please continue to do so and check us out. Yes, Ohio State. We're done putting the canes ahead of you. Like, there's no way we can do it. We can't do it anymore. Okay, Friday night games, they're dangerous. The Braum brothers went off in Miami's defense, gave up some big plays. They got Chris Belden, they got Isaac Brown like it was. They're no longer. And they don't even control their own destiny in the acc, which is. Which is crazy. If you start to look at those standings, I think it'll blow your mind that Virginia in there, smu, still undefeated after beating Clemson today. Like, the scenarios are going to get wacky, they're going to get weird. We're here for all that. How about Vandy and lsu? Like, this is crazy. This was. This was a crazy game to watch because you always watch about physicality. You always walk about, watch about toughness. And when you said LSU, you talked about LSU's defense being so great, so dominant, and LSU's offense not doing much. They hadn't scored over 25 points against. Against an FBS opponent. And man, oh, man, did they look good today. The Vanderbilt offense, like, not the LSU defense. They looked absolutely terrible. Vandy gets another top 10 win in back to back seasons, which is absolutely incredible. Clark Lee's got everybody going nuts. Everybody's anchoring down. They're so used to beating top 10 teams now they don't even tell Terra Gopost down anymore. They keep them up. They're good. Like, we've been there, done that. The stadium's full, the fans are jacked up. It was pretty cool to Watch Pavia, because this was all about Pavia and this, this team is all about him. The defense is so much improved, which helps Pavia get more, more licks at it. And they're aggressive, but six game in a row with three passing touchdowns and or rushing touchdown. He's. They know exactly what he's doing. And here's what, here's what was beautiful. LSU has the best cornerback in the country out wide. Vanderbilt said, we want no part of that. It was amazing. Like they did an unbelievable job. Like we're going to work both tight ends and we hear about Stowers all the time. But Spence, like, we're going to target them. They targeted them 10 times. They had eight receptions. They literally did a great job staying between the hashes, staying away from their best players. Weeks didn't play which, which is a benefit. But the Diego Pavia's athletic ability, it was silly today on a field with one of the best defenses in the country. He consistently scrambled around and made plays like their, their offense is so fun to watch. And we could go through, we, me and, me and Brent and everybody, we could, we could watch tape with you guys and blow your mind about what they can do. But, but it had nothing to do with Diego Pavia's plan. Scrambles. It was all the, the stuff that you can't account for. Like LSU crashing off the edge. It's a bootleg. He makes a cornerback miss. He makes. He made Harold Perkins miss a bunch. He had 16 carries for 94 yards, but eight of them were scrambles for 79 yards. Like it was all backyard football, Johnny football. Like, you saw him scramble out, you saw him make somebody miss, you saw him leaping people, you'll see him run people over. Like, it was just, it was incredible to watch. And if I'm lsu, I'm really pissed because my offense actually showed up. Like for the first time this season. My offense played well. Nuss Meyer played well. Like they, they actually had some rhythm. They had some time and they created some great. They created some big plays. They ran the ball, you know, consistently. They still have drops. Their second second most drop, second most drops in the sec. I think Tennessee's number one. So they still do that. But, but the defense did not show up. And a great team, man, a great team. When your defense doesn't show up, your offense does. LSU's offense played a better game than they played against an FPS team. But they got the ball twice down seven in the, in the second half, in the fourth quarter, and they went three and out both times. And that's. Pavia gets the ball back. Pavia and company run the football. Pavia makes a scramble when they're up three, takes off, and next thing you know, they're up 10 and the ball game's over. So it's been frustrating. If I'm a. If I'm a. If I'm an LSU fan, I'm obviously frustrated. And I wish I could offer you some great news. LSU fans, I wish I could tell you that good things are coming. You got A and M and Bama next. Not sure I can tell you anything good. I mean, I'm not sure what we can do with that because I'm pretty sure you might could lose one more game and be in the conversation, but I'm not even sure if that's. That's the case anymore with LSU. And so BK's buyout, I saw. I saw people posting about it. 53 million. So I know a lot of people aren't excited about Brian Kelly, but Vanderbilt, Clark Lee continue to be excited because now you're back to back years, top 10 wins, and Diego Pavia has to leave, unfortunately. I don't know, maybe he petitions for another year. What the heck, why not? Like, why not partition for another year? He shouldn't be playing this year, technically, but they changed the rules. He got to play and he's taking advantage of it, man. That's. That's a crazy thing. And LSU's remaining schedule is. Is sixth according to. To ESPN, so probably don't like their chances of taking off and making it happen. How about Tennessee? Bama? Like, this was a. This was a weird fricking game, okay? This was weird because it starts off Aguilar. First of all, Aguilar is tough as crap, man. You got to really like him. Like, this final score is 37 to 20. It was closer than this. It actually was closer than this. Aguilar had some good moments. They ran the football really, really well. Bishop's a stud, man. Like, Bishop's a big stud for. For Tennessee. Like, they can run it. They've changed offensively. They've done a good job of kind of morphing. But if you're going to be really upset, like, Tennessee had a chance to make it such a close game going into the half. First it's 7, 7, 7, 7. Like it's a ballgame. Bama gets a safety. Like, he drives his tackle back. Aguilar trips, throws the ball away. Intentional grounding safety. Bama takes it down the field. They score. So now they're up 15 to 7. Tennessee goes the length of the field, converts two four, four downs last. They call two timeouts. Fourth and goal from the one. They are so run heavy. They're so good at it. They go pass, interception returned to the house. 100 yard interception, basically 99 yards. And Brent, the ball game was not essentially over. It wasn't over. But and I'll even give Tennessee credit, I was actually proud of how 10 compared to Auburn the week before. If you compare Auburn and Tennessee the week before Auburn was. Was very upset at half. They were ticked off and they didn't show up. Tennessee got a bad break. They got. Now they're down 23 to seven and a half. They should not have been. They should not have been. But Tennessee comes out, gets a stop a three and out they go down and score. They force a fumble. They get the ball again. They shoot themselves in the foot with a bad snap again. But like I loved watching Tennessee continue to compete when it didn't go their way. Especially when. When all. When Alabama outscores your offense, their defense scores nine and your offense scores seven in the first half.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
That was. You took the point right out the, right out of my head. That their response in the second half I think shows a lot about the team and what they are. But the thing with Alabama and watching them offensively now is their run game is not great against better teams. But where they can the touch points that they can hit on the field in the passing game because of Simpsons just feel and accuracy. It makes some of the running game issues non existent to me because you can go attack parts of the field that other teams just one don't defend very well. Or two just aren't expecting you to get to like crossers.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Yeah.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Middle of the field.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Yeah.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
In that sort of 15 to 25 yard range that so many offenses in college football can't touch. They can do that and it just the efficiency of their offense because of it. And then the big play obviously changes.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
The whole entire dogs at wide receiver. I mean that's the best group in.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
The SEC and 5 is impossible to tackle.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Dude, they do that trick play where they throw behind the line of scrimmage to him and he breaks like seven tackles. It should have been a loss of 10. And he gets, he gets like 22 yards. It's. He's a cheat code because his lower body's so strong and big. He just. He bounces people off. But in the end the reason that they can do that is because they got Ty Simpson they have Ty Simpson. Everyone else in the SEC doesn't have Ty Simpson. Like, that's pretty much it to me. That dude. That dude's better than everybody else, man. Like, again, I told you, I'll fight you. Anybody in the country for him. I mean, he's.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
He's just at quarterback. At quarterback was.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
I don't. If I don't have a quarterback, I can't throw it to my wide receiver. So I got to have the quarterback spot.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
And Julian saying might be. Might be putting his name in that.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Market with what Julian saying is doing a great job. Ty Simpson is doing a better job because he has to do more. And Ty Simpson's scrambling ability just consistently. He consists. The fourth down near the goal line when they're up 10, when it's 30 to 20, he just. He gives you a little shake. He's got. He's got. He's got just enough wiggle to make you miss, but he's got the cojones. They put it in his hands a lot. And he doesn't make mistakes. He just does that. That's the. That's the most impressive part, that he consistently doesn't. To throw the ball over the middle and not put the ball in harm's way. That's why people don't do it. That's. That's exactly why they don't. Because it terrifies them. Because when you make a mistake high over the middle, it goes to another player on the other team. And so that's why you see more of the dink and dunk. But they're willing to. Because they know that dude can freaking sling it right where he wants to sling it. He sees fantastic.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Like if the screen game. How they're evolving in the screen game, especially to the backs, I think is big time for their offense. And, you know, four. Russo. Russo, however you say his name.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Oh, the big running back.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
No, for the one that got hurt. The defensive player. Oh, yeah, he got hurt. And 42 is playing more. A lot more. That boy's explosive and he's. He's got some. Something.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
He's got some juice.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Yes. And that's a him. More of him is better for Bama. That's for sure.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
He's a wild one. He's got some. He's got some wild one tendencies to him. But. But I do think he's got some juice. But Bama, I'm not. Bama has had four tough games in a row. Like four really, really tough games. And just like I said last week, I'm not picking against him again, like not anytime soon. I'm just, I think with that qb, that receiver group, a defense that continues to turn the ball over and make plays like I'm, I'm.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
You can't and this is not end all be all for the end of the road for Tennessee either.

Now got at Kentucky, and then you get Oklahoma at home, New Mexico State at Florida, and then Vandy like you, you went out, you're 10 and 2. You're in the playoff again if you're Tennessee. Yep.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Again. Yep.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
And your losses right now are bam, Georgia and Bama. That. Those aren't two. Those are two. Okay. Losses.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Those are not too shabby. Speaking of playoff, man, Notre Dame, this is a team that they. They have an opportunity to. To punch their ticket. We've talked about their schedule. Usc we knew would be a challenge for them. My Alba continues to be really, really good. I mean, he's. He's a. He's a hard cat to sack. Like, that dude gives you that long arm, and he kind of slowly buys time. And you got Lemon and Lane. And they presented some. Some challenges for. For Notre Dame and Notre Dame, they struggled big time to stop the pass. I mean, they struggled big time. And it's. It's an explosive offense. It's a fun offense to watch. But that game, if you were watching it, the weather got a little bit sloppy, but it was sloppy, period. Like, you got missed extra points, you got missed field goals, you got dropped balls. When you're just. You're running a reverse and you're trying to throw it and you just drop it. You got an interception inside the five. You got a ton of penalties for Notre Dame, but. But the biggest difference with Notre Dame and with USC was Notre Dame can line up and physically pound the rock, and USC couldn't stop it. I mean, it was just. It was crazy. It was. It was so crazy that you could consistently do that. And Price, Love, whoever it was, CJ Carr looked exceptionally average like that. That's the worst I've seen him look in a number of weeks. And he made mistakes in the. The third down to Faison. He could have thrown that ball better. Faison could have caught it. The pick inside the five was atrocious. It was 14 to 10. You got a good chance to. To put some. Put some distance between you and usc. Throw the pick. So a lot of mistakes, but guess what? It's really nice to be a good enough team where you can have. You can make those mistakes and you can continue to win. But they have the run game to. To depend. And how about Price, man, they. They go down, usc, you know, takes the lead, they kick the ball off, and it's Enough to have to deal with love in the, in the run game, in the past game. It's enough to have to deal with Price. Thank God both of them aren't on the field at the same time. Very often you kick the ball to Price and he takes it back a hundred yards like that was. USC had all the momentum, everything was going good. The stadium was kind of quiet. And then he takes it back 100 yards and, and they missed the extra point again. That's what cost them the A and M game. They could be undefeated if they could kick, if they could make kicks or hold it correctly. But Notre Dame survives. Survives. They advance. That's all that matters. A 10 point win. And they're very much right back in this thing. Right? Like it doesn't, it doesn't change a thing. Like the schedule going ahead, looking forward is exceptionally good. They should win every single football game. Speaking of a good schedule. And me and Brent both missed this one. Because we're stupid is the bottom line. We're both, we're both stupid because if you pick Duke, you're stupid. If you pick Duke to win a good, a big game, you're stupid from now on. Because they're a good team. They're absolutely a good team. But this is the same team that I saw versus Illinois and I, I'm going to punch myself in the balls if I pick them again in a game that's any of significance. Why do I say that if. Because here's the first possession. A 90 plus yard drive. Just fumble on the one yard line. Bam. They take it back to the house. Seven nothing. Georgia Tech second possession, drive it right down the field. Get stopped inside the 20. Okay, we'll kick a field goal. Botch the snap. Botch the snap. In the first quarter they had 142 yards. They held the ball for 11 minutes and Duke had zero freaking points. That is next to impossible. Like if you want to get worse too later in the game. They got a fourth and one, a chance to go up seven. It's a tie game. Illegal substitution on the one yard line. Back it up. Kick a field goal. They had a great plan. They executed the ball. They spit the ball in the perimeter 4,000 times in this football game and made Tech try to tackle their guys. And they were very, very successful. But in the end, don't let me pick Duke. If you pick Duke, I'm going to slap you too because they just, they self implode.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Man, that was. They dominated that game. Like they had, they had early. They did Ahead. Yeah. But in the fourth quarter when it became money time, then it's Haynes king time. And then just in the fourth quarter alone he had 87 rushing yards and a touchdown and he was 5 of 8 for 89 yards in the in passing.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
I'm about to say I was more impressed with the passing late than anything.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
And that's. They got the 1pi call initially for a sort of bigger gain and then after that he hit a few bigger plays and once they did that it was lights out. And I think Georgia Tech is going to be 110 facing Georgia.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
That's crazy, isn't it? It's crazy. But he did make big plays and they're, they're fun to watch because zero turnovers, 17 penalty yards and again just not a team that's going to beat themselves. And that's a credit to them. That's not an insult like Georgia Tech fans. Don't, don't, don't get upset with that. Like you guys know who you are. The body blows continue to add up. That's why, that's why Duke wilted too because it's just a constant pressure. It's a constant pounding, handing at different guys time of possession. Like all of that continues. They stay perfect in the ACC and Miami. That's this is craziness.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Like I have a thought of that.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
I mean they're going to have to look for Georgia Tech to stumble. Like it's going to be weird. Man, this is going to be weird.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Well, if I'm a fan of the acc, Miami losing was probably the best thing for you because if Miami runs the table and they're a 1213 or 120 champ. ACC champ. You're only getting one team now with the way the schedule breaks out, the fact they might not even. They might be 111 and not even be in the championship game and now you've got an automatic qualifier like now that s. I will say the SMU game that Miami has to go play their first like true real road game out of the state that is a little more interesting now. But still I think if you're an ACC fan the likelihood of you getting two teams with because of the Miami loss is much higher. Now I think we thought in the.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Beginning of the year that might be after Florida State got that big Bama win. You thought that would be a feather in their cap and an at a conference that would carry some weight. But I mean it's just weirdness with and Louisville obviously threw their name in the hat with being one loss and Louisville's a great team. Like we've talked. Louisville just has those Duke moments. Like Louisville does the same thing. They have the pick six against Virginia. They have the fumble. Like Pittsburgh, they did everything they could to. To try to give it away. Nobody doubts what they have. And that was a heck of a game Friday night. And they, they did a great job. They did an unbelievable job of getting their. Their playmakers the football. And their playmakers won the game. Like getting Isaac Brown the football on third and 10 on draws, getting Bell the ball. You remember before the season, Bell was one of my favorite guys. Like this dude. This dude. You're not supposed to move like that.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Like he's six four esque.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
He's A.J. a.J. Brown. Julio, like that. That's a problem. So you got Virginia, who's still undefeated. You got Georgia Tech. Like, it's just madness. Like, it's. It's absolutely madness. It's awesome. Because this is a league that we were talking about before the season. Where could Miami get in? Like, could they be the second best team? Everybody disregarded smu. Everybody. I mean, nobody put another ACC team in the playoff. Most everybody had one.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Like, okay, well, you had two.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Clemson. Yeah, but I mean, I missed plenty of others, but I also had Clemson.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Yeah.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
So, yeah. Rocks on that.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Exactly. But one thing I. One point with the Miami Louisville game that I'm sure you noticed as a defensive lineman. Did you see how much they intentionally cut block them? All five linemen on just random plays, some quick games. It was the quick game through quick game. And all five linemen would cut the Miami's defensive line. I think you're going to see a lot of that moving forward because how do you slow the D line down a little bit? Just a little bit.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
It makes you think about your knees.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Makes you think about it a little bit.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Yeah, it makes, it makes you think about your knees. And here we go. We're going to flip the script because we're going to go. Ohio State fans. Yes. You are the number one team in the country now. Like Indiana actually still might be. And I'm just kidding. Like, what it was. It was Wisconsin. Nobody thinks Wisconsin's great. Luke Fickles probably not going to last, but. But Ohio State is officially the last team in FBS who hasn't given up a touchdown in the first half. Really struggled against Wisconsin in the first half. 69 yards. And I mean, again, I don't. If you're playing bad teams, beat the crap out of them. And it was almost 500 yards to 144 yards. It was 7 yards of play compared to 3 yards of play. It was 26 first downs to 9. Like Wisconsin has a really good run defense. You saw them when they played Alabama and teams early in the season. Okay, Ohio State didn't get the run game going. Julian saying was 36 of 42. That's pretty good. That's really good. That's hard to do on air. That's hard to do at a pro day. Four touchdowns, the best one two punch in the country at wide receiver. Another that they combined for 15 for 208. Handle your business, take care of what you do. Ohio State schedule is not. There's nothing on there left really now that they get a bye week. They got Penn State. Nobody's thinking Penn State is really that good. They got the, the big monkey on their back at the end of the season with Michigan, which is, which is a huge test for them. But I mean they just, they cruised, they took care of business, making a statement, making their case for being the number one team in the country. It doesn't matter if you're number one right now. Nothing that matters matters. Nothing. But you just keep taking care of business. The offense keeps developing, getting two dimensional with the defense that continues to dominate. Like you just continue to prove week in and week out that you're a ridiculous team. Michigan, this was a, this was another game that thought Washington should have been ranked. Thought Washington is a, is a really, really good team. Michigan, how about that response, man? Like their defense against usc, it did, it looked bad. Like we don't see Michigan defenses look like that. It was kind of. They got embarrassed. You can say that they got embarrassed. Gave up over 220rush yards and you know, Washington comes in there with Demon Williams who's playing out of his mind and you know they got, they got Boston, they got Coleman, bro. They shut them down. 249 total yards of offense. The Mon. Williams, who was 10 touchdowns, one interception, zero tutties, three interceptions on the day. Like that was that, that was a proud Michigan program that put a stinker out there and responded like a bad program. Like, like a bad mother, shut your mouth program. Not a bad program. Like it's incredible. Like, that's an adult response. Underwood looked as comfortably as he has since game one. Like 21 of 27. No mistakes, didn't put the ball in harm's way. And the no justice Haynes, you think they'd struggle a little bit. Jordan Marshall's just fine by the way. It was all the marsh or Marshals because Andrew Marsh, you know, the freshman wide receiver, starting to come on, starting to look like that guy out wide. Zach Marshall, the tight end, was in for Klein because he's banged. Actually the first two tight ends are banged up. Did an unbelievable job. He had five for 72. So that was a great response by, by Michigan. You kind of think they're out of it. No, if they beat Washington, they're still in it. They still got to beat Ohio State. Maybe they're in the mix now. Listen, if Ohio State's number one in the country at the end of the year and they beat them and they're nine and two, they're probably going to get in the playoff. But if they lost to Washington, they were probably out. So it's a big time win. It's a big time culture win too, for sure on Moore, because a lot of people talking about the offensive line, another injury today on the offensive line. My goodness, they've had a bunch of. But great job responding in an unbelievable way. Hey, Wesley or Brent, do we. Do we figure out about Auburn yet? Did Auburn do Auburn things or did they take care of business?
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Still an OT last.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
It's unbelievable.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
The second OT last I looked unbelievable.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
That Auburn, like it's crazy because the thing about it, the thing that's frustrates you, Auburn goes right down the field 7. Nothing like unbelievable job. And then, and then they, they get a stop. They've got all the momentum. And for Hugh Freeze and company to come out like that, that, that was incredible because we didn't know if they'd lay down. We didn't know if they'd respond. Like they did a great job responding, an adult response going right down the field scoring. Second possession, they got a chance to go up 14. Your big money wide receiver, Jackson Arnold, your quarterback who struggled all year, dude, throws a rocket right to Cam Coleman like up top and it hits him right in the hands and he dropped another one later. He also made some big catches, but like a chance to go up 14, nothing and just absolutely just sprint out the gates. And guess what else they do? They miss two field goals. Like, it's just, it's gotta be exhausting. Like it's gotta be exhausting the fact that it's. It always happens. It just always happens. Utah taking care of business. Out gaining BYU and the holy war. More passing yards, more rushing yards, but dampier throwing a pick, making a mistake and Utah fumbling and Bear, Bear Bachmeier just being an absolute wagon, just big boy style, putting the pads on Cougs up, you know, in the fourth quarter. And that's, that's significant too, man, because Utah in the Big 12, that's, that's very much going to be in question. And whoever wins that football game, you know, you're in a great spot because byu, remember guys, BYU still undefeated. So that's a real thing. Like that's a. That's been happening and somebody's going to have to do something about it. But BYU and Utah is officially final, right?
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Yes. Over 24, 21 ball game.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Utah blows it. That's. I mean, that's Utah. I don't know. How do you do that? Like you, you messed. Remember last year too. The, the penalty late. Like the PI. Late. And it just. You've kind of found a. Find a way to lose those. Like it's, it's very, very ungood. But it's. That's about it. Brent, what else you got, brother?
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Couple interesting things just from watching football all day is I love how much fourth downs are a part of college football and all of football now. Everywhere, every game there are multiple. Just huge fourth downs in every game and decisions that are made, all that sort of stuff. And the other thing is I saw it, I think Friday night some. I saw it multiple times today. I definitely saw Gunner Stockton do it. Quarterbacks are driving me nuts when they're scrambling and they're. It's like they go out of bounds about a half a yard before the first down. That's not going like. Yeah, when you just get away from the hit versus just diving forward or putting the ball forward, that sort of thing. To get a first down.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
That's.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
That's been annoying. But what a phenomenal day. Football like Texas almost gagged it away against Kentucky if it wasn't for punt returns. They. They. Their offense was absolutely garbage against Kentucky.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Virginia. Virginia, Virginia barely escaped Washington state 22, 20.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Give a safety. Texas A and M, like Petrina is going to get somebody. They're going to get somebody.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Is he going to get the job? Is my question too. That would be interesting. The Big 12 race is worth mentioning now because BYU in Cincinnati, unbeating and unbeaten in the conference. Yep, we all had that too.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
We all had sort of it later, later in the season. But Oak, you talked about Michigan as a bounce back win Oklahoma as well. That was a. They found the running game. The running backs contributed big time to the running game. A week of practice material looked a lot better. That was big for Oklahoma because now they got Ole Miss coming this week.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
You didn't peek at that Penn State score, did you?
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Oh, I, I saw it and then I saw that how they got a punt, a blocked field goal for a touchdown when they like a 60 something yard field goal.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
I was hoping that they came out inspired, you know, like, and like win one for the Gipper. Now listen, I know you're on your backup quarterback, but like you hope they come out inspired and like do something. But I will beat them. And then Minnesota on Friday night too, took care of business over Nebraska. Brent. I went and watched every single snap of that game because I wanted to watch Raiola. And Nebraska's offensive line is, man, is, it's not good. It's not, it's not good enough by any stretch for them to, to beat any of the big boys. It's just not like run through after run through. Pass protection isn't good. Raul made some, some pretty decent plays, but the weapons don't get open on the outside like it was, it was bad, man. Like Nebraska's, Nebraska's okay, but they're not, they're not ready to compete at the, at the highest level by any stretch and, but he's, he's made some big plays. But Memphis lost, which is another Chris.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Morton's son that's now the coach at uab. That was, that was cool.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
Yes.
Brent (Co-host/Analyst)
Getting the win.
Host (Lead Analyst, possibly named West or Wes)
They beat, got fired last week and, and then he takes over. So that's, that's, that's a recap for you boys. Like we appreciate y'. All. We'll be here, we'll be here all week like we always are, talking ball. And I think that next week will be just as good as this week because they're all going to be like this, man.
